The park is amazing for a day out with family. The kids play area has different sections for different age groups. The splash pad is also very nice for the kids to enjoy. The zoo area is great with a lot of animals to see. I had never seen a sloth before. The parking and zoo are free here. They do accept donations though. All in all a great place to see a lot of things and relax in the park.

I really enjoyed my visit to the Peterborough Zoo. It’s such a nice place to spend a few hours, and the best part is that it’s free to enter. The zoo is not huge, but it has a really good variety of animals, and everything is well looked after. The enclosures are clean, and you can tell the staff care about the animals. My favorite part was watching the monkeys and the big cats – they were so fun to see up close. The walking paths are easy to follow, and there’s plenty of space to just relax and enjoy nature. It’s also a great place for kids, with the playground and picnic areas making it feel more like a family park than just a zoo. Parking was easy, and the whole place felt safe and welcoming. Overall, it’s a hidden gem in Peterborough and definitely worth visiting.

Riverview Park and Zoo is such a great spot, and the best part is that it’s completely free! The zoo itself is pretty good with a nice variety of animals, but what really stood out for us were the kids’ play areas. They’re awesome — lots of space to run around and different structures to explore. My 3-year-old especially loved the long slide, which quickly became the highlight of our visit. It’s a perfect family outing spot with a good mix of animals, green space, and fun for the kids. Definitely worth checking out!

Extremely great experiences here, the zoo is very well maintained, clean and neat environment for guests and the animals. The animals all look happy and very active. So glad we have the chance to visit this free admission zoo. They have $2/person train, great experience with kids too. They love it. There are also a water splash pad and playground. Definitely worth going if you are around Peterborough. And donate if you can, the staff did a great work and they are nice to guests.

Disappointed their Snack Shack is gone.. but my sons had a blast otherwise. Highly recommend to make sure you pack your own snacks and drinks. The splash pad is a must on hot days! There was a bit of a line up for the Bathrooms/change rooms but nothing crazy terrible. Love this zoo.

Wow, this place is small but so many animals to see. Plus, there is a train ride. That ride was closed today but we will make sure to go again, the following year. And the animals are so cute. There's otters, camals, sloths, llamas, ducks, snakes, just to name a few. There's a splash pad, play area for the kids, not too much walking. Plenty of pinic areas. The size is really good. Will go again.

Zoo is nice to visit near Toronto. It's a place where kids can enjoy watching and knowing about animals and reptiles. Also can have small picnic or day you can spend with kids in zoo.

An awesome museum worth every minute! It's amazing to see such a great collection of canoes through history - ones from famous stories, famous people, and monumental events. Learng about canoe culture is particularly interesting seeing as I'm a travelling Australian. Go check it out.

We loved the tour! It's easy to spend about 2 hours in their stunning new home. With about 100 canoes on display and another 1000 or so in storage, there is alot to see. The history, the craftsmanship, the variety, the stories of the original owners and their adventures add up to a uniquely Canadian experience, well worth a visit!

Beautiful new museum and exhibit overlooking Little Lake in Peterborough! Very comfortable and chill atmosphere. Took the afternoon tour with the kids and felt like they were able to get a lot more out of the exhibit. Very kid friendly with video, listening stations, scavenger hunt, and drawing pages.

Darn! What a nice museum here in Peterborough Ontario. I found out afterwards that this town was the birthplace so to speak of the canoe. So it’s no wonder the Canoe Museum is here in Peterborough. It’s such a nice museum and lots of facts and figures to explore throughout. The only gripe I have is that I thought the price was maybe a little much for what they have but honestly it is worth it if you want to learn the history of the canoe. 👍😎

I really wanted to love this place. With a really curious mind who can be interested in almost anything and a love of canoes (been canoeing since I was 8 years old and own my own cedar-strip canoe built for me), I still found the exhibits pretty dry and the labeling not engaging. The best part of my visit was seeing the canoe vault.

Fascinating museum showcasing both the mastery and beauty of the canoe, but the history of the indigenous peoples and their journeys. Also an astounding piece of architecture, using natural materials to perfection.

What a wonderful experience! Anyone who has paddled or who has an interest in Canadian history with find something valuable here. We really enjoyed it. Plus the butter tarts in the café are amazing !

I recently visited the Peterborough Lift Lock, and it was a fascinating experience. The surrounding park is perfect for a picnic, and the nearby visitor center offers informative exhibits and a short film about the Trent-Severn Waterway. A beautiful structure and fun place to be at the annual paddle and lock event in July! Would come again but maybe in a canoe or a comfortable kayak (not a playboat kr white water kayak) as you may be sitting in this for 3-4 hours (specifically for the paddle lock event) depending on crowd sizes and line ups to get up and down the lock!

Travel the beautiful Trent-Severn Waterway. Or the Rideau System on the Kawartha Voyager. It's great multi-day river and lake cruising. Search Ontario Waterway Cruises!!!

Really cool place to see but the visitor center was closed when we arrived. The scale of the lift is not obvious until you are up close. You can walk to the lock and go up the stairs to see it from the top. All in all, with the history of has, worth the visit.

Beavermead Park in Peterborough, Ontario is a great place to spend time with family and friends for a day trip from Toronto. You could also visit the Canoe Museum, the world largest lift lock, beaches , lift lock cruise. You could also enjoy different types of food from the Lansdowne place food court. Happy Summer 2024!

It is open and beautiful area, anyone can do swimming, walking and spent time with their love once, even play some games like football and volleyball. There is small play ground for younger children's.

Amazing little gem hidden in Peterborough. Nice camping area. Water all around for fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and even swimming. Nice beach and play area for the kids. Pet friendly. Very reasonable price. Definitely will visit again. Lots of trails and even a dog park close by.

Nice camping site with super clean washrooms and with small beach site for nice family time. Must visit for happy campers. We did campfire at night. After 10 is quite time. So no music after 10pm. Close to Tim’s and Wendy’s which really helps during those hot days of summer some time. I always carry my cycles for nice cycle time in evenings and mornings. $55 for camping spot

One of the amazing gems of places in Peterborough. So blessed to start and end so many days here alone getting to work out and listen to music. From soccer fields, workout stations, volleyball courts, facilities and playgrounds..Definitely a place for the family to check out. Thanks to the amazing people who clean (To the awesome girl I meet every morning....thank you can never say enough!)

It is a lovely campground and look forward to going again this summer 2020. Great for cycling on trails or around the lake. The locks are interesting with boats from Canada and the USA. Lock boat tour available which is beautiful in the Fall. Swimming off the beach and a great play ground for children, supervised by their parents. Herons are regular visitors to the river surrounding the campsite. Have a good summer. Our photo did not show up!

My cousin and I camped at this Park for the first time Aug 11-13, 2023. We participated in the Lift Lock Event. This Park is very clean and well managed. Their new comfort station completed in 2020 is absolutely amazing! Well designed! Would definitely come back here again! Thank you Beavermead Park for your hospitality!

My daughter loves attending the summer camp here and makes lots of different kinds of art. The gallery is beautifully laid out and has many pieces to ponder over and a lovely gift shop as well. Admission is free, donations are welcomed and the staff are truly wonderful people. Great place for the whole family definitely check it out!

We went here for lunch. Pizza and cheese dip were great. The beer and service was good. They didn't have wings unfortunately. The place is a nice place to hangout.

Good place to eat. Nice patio. Cauliflower bites and Grilled Calamari over pineapple slaw.. so good! My friend said the Funghi pizza was one of the favourite pizzas she's ever had. Wood fired and light and crispy. Gluten free options !

Hosted an event in the upstairs space at Publican for about 60 people. We had guests from out of town who were raving about the food - the portions, quality and taste were top notch. A huge thank you to Andre the manager and his entire team. He worked with us to create a perfect menu and guest experience. The food was actually incredible, right down to the dessert (yummy cheesecake) and accommodating our party members who were gluten free too. We are so glad we chose Publican to host our event and would highly recommend it to anyone!

I had the pleasure of attending two different events at the Publican House. One was in the morning with coffee and pastries provided while the other was in the evening serving beverages and appetizers. The food is very tasty and there is a variety to choose from. The bars are both gorgeous and the bartenders are excellent. Shout out to Josh! He made Lavender Mojitos that were pretty and refreshing! The patio is a wonderful hideaway on a busy street that you don’t notice. The entire restaurant is beautifully decorated too. Amazing atmosphere for any event. The brewery is next door and offers beer for purchase

We went for the first time on the weekend and I was blown away by this restaurant. The atmosphere is two-fold: a friendly yet rustic-chic bar area when you first walk in, and then a cozy back area to dine at the tables. The kitchen is partially open giving you access to see the large wood oven where they make the pizzas fresh. The menu was great! Lots of options but not overwhelming. We ordered two appetizers: the dip trio and the Cuban egg rolls. The portion size is amazing and just the apps alone were phenomenal (I’ve never had Cuban rolls like this). We ordered the Nashville Hot Backdoor with a Moroccan salad (best choice) and the Brussel Sprout Steak Salad and it was literally likely the best dishes I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The Moroccan salad alone was so flavourful, not packed with a ton of different random ingredients so you could truly enjoy the flavours, sauce, etc. My sandwich felt like it was 4lbs and my husbands steak salad was crazy good and amazing portion size!! Our server Magda was so sweet and friendly, and made the experience all that much better. Honestly if you’ve never been to this restaurant this is your sign to do so. Will be back again (and again)!

The atmosphere is fantastic, an upscale Brewery pub yet down-to-earth, so you don't need to be overdressed. We enjoyed a flight of 4 in-house draft beers that were excellent. Loved the Hazelnut Coffee Stout. The cheese dip was a new experience with pickles and hot peppers. Buffalo chicken pizza was addictive. Both dishes complimented the draft perfectly. The server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the beer. All in all this is going to be our new date night pub.

This was a big surprise for us. We were looking for a patio that allow dogs. Not only does their lower patio allow dogs, but the server brought out a water bowl for our pup as well as water for us. The food was fantastic. Our son got the kids cheese pizza, which was a very generous size. My husband and daughter got the burger, and they said it was one of the best burgers they’ve had in a while. I got the shrimp tacos and a side beet garden salad. This was delicious! Because it is also a brewery, their beer selection was wide and varied. We got their beer that gives back to a local animal shelter. I would highly recommend this place!

Wonderful museum, have things for the kids to do at the various exhibits. The large exhibit rooms displays change keeping things fresh. Always a worthwhile visit and within walking distance of various restaurants, a Foodland, Tim Hortons and the Quaker Oats plant

Great place to visit and learn about the history of the city and area around Peterborough. Displays trace a timeline from before 0 BC until present day. Lots of displays, as well as activities for children. Admission is free, but a donation is suggested to allow the museum to continue operating!

Went to this free museum 3 time with the kids this summer. They loved it!! Scavenger hunt and activities while taking a trip down Peterborough history. Small but has great compact information. I love the kitchen from 1920’s

I’m from Rochester NY but my fiancé is from Lindsay, and I always drag him to museums when I come up to Canada lol. This is a great little museum. Not to mention, it’s free to get in (we did donate though). The gift shop is very reasonably priced too, surprisingly. Most museum gift shops are extremely overpriced. But here I got a nice coffee mug for $8! I’ve seen other shops charge $20+ for a mug.

The staff is friendly and the exhibition is informative. Good to know the history of Peterborough. No admission fee, so encourage donation or buy some souvenirs.

We stumbled across this little gem, and am very glad that we did! Staff were very friendly and helpful and I met the friendly dog too. I really enjoyed learning about the area and some science topics too. Great collections with clear descriptions about what you are looking at. Nice items in gift shop area. Entrance was based on a donation. Thank you for helping to make our visit pleasurable.

Nice museum, includes an academic program for aspiring museum managers and curators. I saw some very well-presented student projects in August, and the class group project today. "Words & Beyond: How communication brings us together." Be sure to visit soon!

It's okay. The place is beautiful outside, lots of flowers and butterflies. The house is gorgeous. Service was alright, a little standoffish. The scones were burnt on the bottom (just a bit) but for $10 a person, can't complain much. I suggest getting the tour of the museum to make the most of your visit.

We had a group of 7. My sister and her kids were visiting from Northern Ireland, and we attended the Scottish tea. It was a lovely time and our server, Ruth, was absolutely wonderful. Everyone was very knowledgeable. We learned a lot about Sir Sandford Fleming and the Hutchinson family. We were happy to leave a donation and we will be back again!!

It is an interesting place. I think Dr. Johny's family had a very happy period of time together in this house. I can see it throughout many little things such as some handmade pictures of a little girl, some spinning wheel in both kitchen and bedroom, or a very weird wooden chair. Thank you for preservation this house very good.

The house was exquisite although I some how made my way into the attic and there was a line doll and it looked at me and said Larry will arise shortly other then that food was great

Hii, it’s really a very nice to study to be honest. But I don’t like their one thing that if I took study room in the morning, then why I’m not able to take one in the evening. I can understand if anyone else needs the room, then it’s fine but if the room is empty and somebody wants to study, then why you guys are denying to give a room? I just wanna suggest you guys that you must need to look about this matter and change your this policy if anyone been already there one time, then second time it’s not possible even if the room is empty for two hours. The library has a nice ambiance and is a great place to study. I often come here to meditate as well, and it always feels wonderful to be in this space. One advantage is its location in the heart of downtown Peterborough. However, one downside is that there isn't a Tim Hortons nearby.

The library is wonderful with a great selection of books and activities . However the one star rating is due to the safety aspect. There are people outside loitering and loudly using profanities. Really not a place to bring young children to create a safe learning environment. It is very unfortunate.

Very helpful staff and a well run facility. My roommates and I came to warm up, do homework and charge devices after loosing power. The library was (understandably) very busy, and the only available outlets meant we were sitting on the floor. They brought us tables and chairs to help us stay comfortable. Thank you so much!!

Love the local library. Wish I could give it five stars but the comic book areas need some newer updated books. Most of the stuff is not complete collections or just older books in general. But other then that it is a nice place to go and I love the kids section. It's so nice and open with all the natural light.

Absolutely love this Library. Assistants/Librarians are very professional & helpful. The greatest source of finding & reading books of interest came when I was introduced to "Cloud Library" this has truly been a game changer - I am so happy with this option & how amazing it has been for myself!! PTBO is a amazing library as I visited today. There is huge collection of books that is amazing 🤩 thing and environment is also good. But I was finding a book called "The 48 Laws of power by Robert Greene" . As I came to know there was a book which got damaged and discarded. I would feel glad if you provide.

The Most Awkward Server I've Had in Peterborough. Oh my goodness! It's just not the energy for me bruhhhhhh. They do not direct you to a seat so you kind of feel like the tables are off limits which then you feel like you have to ask if you can sit on the dining area. Yes, had to ask that. They don't ask how you are doing with the food. They don't give you water directly. You have to stand up & get it yourself from a jug they have in the corner. It's just bad service & they don't have an online menu. But I will say this, the Clubhouse Sandwich was perfect. The food was perfect & the interior design of the dining area is very comfortable. The clubhouse was great turkey, bacon, toasted bread, & sauce was great. Also, I really liked the 7-grain side. That was great as well. Overall, happy to have come here.

I will not come back to this golf course. I took my son here for his birthday. He loves to golf , but we both are not avid golfers. We had 9 am tee time which we were grouped with another couple, which was fine. At the first hole we were met by two older gentleman. The one gentleman was rushing us to get started because they had other golfers waiting as well. After we teed off the other gentleman told us not to listen to the man, and to just enjoy ourselves. We got to about the 5th or 6th hole and this man came along again. He called me over to complain we were going to slow, that we should have practiced before coming and to come in the afternoon next time. We were there to have a good time and enjoy time together. This is not a professional golf course, and will not be back. We rushed the entire course to make sure we didn't hold anyone one up. Definately will be choosing another course next we go out. I would recommend that they space groups out more than 15 minutes to accommodate slower golfers .

The course is nice bunkers are very hard, greens roll nice, decent tee boxes.. the prices on the other hand are ridiculous.. the round was $44 the cart was $46, two beers were $18+.. maybe my fault for not asking about prices before booking if I had I would've went to keystone (longer course, with a much lower rate to play)

Course was slow and over packed but it was a long weekend. Greens were super soft, there were a lot of shorter holes and water traps. Nice spot.

Boy did we come on the wrong day! Probably wont be back sadly as ive been here before and usually wasnt too bad. We were told a 4 some wld be in front of us 5 to 7 mins or more. Thats n.p, we knew that. We arrived at 1st tee exactly 1 to 2 mins before our tee time. The 4 some was only half way down the fairway. Then the marshall put a 2 some in front of us. Then we went to try the 10th hole. It was backed up. So we went back to the 1st. The 4 some was still putting out. And the 2 some waiting on fairway. So then were sent to the 12th. I paid 75 or 78 for the 18 with a cart. Also cldnt believe it the greens were all sooo brown it wasnt nice at all, never seen it like that. Then to top it off when you leave the gravel parking lot where it meets the road there is a huge drop off thought i blew out a tire it was so bad. Told the staff briefly about the issue. Nothing was done for me. I probably wont be back and will have to say you might be better off booking else where!

Marshal ruined the experience for my fiance and her dad. He was rude to them right from the start and through out their game. Constantly harassing them telling them to hurry up, not to play unless they are skilled players and just generally making it a poor experience. We will not return to this course.

Went here a few years ago and was great decided to come back and was very disappointed I paid 50 dollars for everything to be burnt 8.99 for onion rings that had 10 in the container 14 dollars for a club sandwich that i had asked how big it was as i was going to spilt with my father was told "its pretty big" for it to be smaller then the burger my fiancé got. Definitely should have looked in the bag before I left as I would have asked for a refund. But after a long day of work i deicided it wasnt worth driving across town and we ate what we could.

Cool 1950’s vibe here. Excellent burgers and fries! Steak is ground daily for burger meat and it shows - both in the quality and depth of flavour. My wife and I both had the Apollo Burger with a large fries to share amongst 4 of us. Our burgers had the additions of pickles and grilled onions. Staff were friendly and attentive - and patient as we made up our minds. Bun was perfect and fries were outstanding. Best burger I have had in years.

I ordered on the phone, which is pretty quick upon picking up my order. It was ready. They told me about 10 minutes. I got to work and started eating my food and noticed that my fries are dry and the burger is still pink. Unfortunately, I don’t have time to go back to see if it can be fixed.

I heard about this restaurant from an old friend that was serving Royal Burgers. Well that's a must try. I had the double Royal Buger. It was great. Probably much better burger than an actual RB. The RB sause them made really brought back old memories. I was a regular at the original restaurant. We went every Saturday. Great job. I will definitely be back next time I am in town.

This place has the best burger I think I have ever had. All the ingredients were fresh and crisp, the burger itself was full of flavor and juicy. Fries were crispy with the right amount of salt. Prices are very good for the quality of food. Service was amazing, when I said I had never been there before the employee (did not catch her name, but she was amazing) ran through the menu with me so I would know what I was getting. All in all 10/10 would go again.

I ordered a plain hamburger and a frie, no drink. The total came to $19.75. The food is good but $19.75 is ridiculous! I understand why the place was empty. As for the service, you order at the cash, they bring it to your table....you eat...you clear your table and leave. Atmosphere is sterile. As I said, food is good but not worth 19.75.

We were visiting Peterborough for the weekend for my son's hockey tournament and I was excited to try this place based on the reviews and the menu. I love a good corned beef sandwich. The sandwich was good but not great. Instead of being slices of corned beef it was like it was shredded corned beef and it just didn't work very well with the sandwich. So the sandwich was just okay. They have macaroni and potato salad and I wanted to try both so they were nice enough to give me half serving of each and both were excellent of the potato salad definitely won out between the two. I would definitely try it again I would probably just try another sandwich. They have lots of different options the corned beef just wasn't for me the way it was served.

Best sandwiches in town! Great meats + Vegan and vegetarian options available. Friendly welcoming staff who make you feel right at home and like to laugh :) I highly recommend this Peterborough staple to anyone looking for some good food PS the pickles are to die for!

I have always enjoyed Sam’s Place Deli as my go-to sandwich location. They have a variety of options available including gluten free, vegetarian and more. Their meats are always delicious and their bread/veggies are always fresh. I love the atmosphere of the restaurant and how inclusive it is. The art and knick knacks are interesting too! Their brand is on point and their space is gorgeous. I absolutely love their Putter’s pickles and you can buy them along with other items in their fridge. I have used their catering services so many times (and some on short notice). I even used their catering options for my wedding for sandwiches and salads while guests were mingling. Ultimately Sam’s Place will always impress! I enjoy buying gift certificates for gifts too.

Just had lunch here a few days ago and was SO impressed! The decor and vibes are perfect along with a sweet collection of S&P shakers. The variety of sandwich options here is insane. I was particularly impressed by their vegetarian options! I had the Vegetarian Boyfriend and the potato salad and it was fire. Great spot!

Sams place is delicious! Really good samwhiches ... I always get the same thing... the mac attack! The service was ok, not great.. prices are a little pricey, and the glass of water tasted like pool water... they definitely need a filter system for the water.

Great sandwich! They cure their meats in house, and you can tell. The sandwiches are freshly prepared after you order, and served with a juicy pickle. I got the cuban on gluten free bread. When talking with a local we said we went to a sandwich shop for dinner, and she asked which one. When we said Sam’s place, she said “Oh that’s the good one” and we knew we made the right choice. Stumbled on this fantastic breakfast place while bringing daughter to school. Great service! Home cooked breakfast, large portions. Their home style fries/hash browns are amazing! Definitely worth checking out!

Huge variety, friendly staff, great food. The dirty waffle was pretty good.

Straight Forward in a GREAT way! Food shows up simply as requested + quick + hot. The only thing not straight forward are the Home Fries - real potatoes, cut by hand, seasoned and lots are crispy just like I have to request at every other restaurant. And yet no one yet was as good as this. Note: Fries are a little spicy, not for those of us that like spicy, just maybe for those that don't. Just ask, they'll explain. Probably the best home fries we’ve ever had ! Crispy and not just mush typical from your fast food breakfast place. Amazing rye bread too our kid loved it ! Definitely will be coming back ❤️ oh and cash only :) lots of atms nearby so it wasn’t a problem.

East City Coffee Shop is a true local gem. The owner and staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, it feels like stepping into a place where everyone knows your name. The standout? The home fries. They’re made in-house and absolutely amazing: crispy, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Just a heads-up: it’s cash only, so make sure to bring some bills. Totally worth it for the food and the warm, down-to-earth vibe.

Go where the locals go! A highly recommended breakfast spot in East City Peterborough with a loyal following. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is a cool ptbo vibe. There is a beautiful interior with old style booth or bar seating. In the summer months, there is a cool sunny patio area. Trust me, you want bacon, homefries and eggs cooked to perfection? Stop by East City Coffee Shop! I always feel VIP here. Alban and his crew understand how to make customers feel comfortable while providing excellent service & good food Update: I had no idea that Alban served soup and it was delicious! A Sweet Potato Coconut Curry blend. My favourite! Update: Brunchin on a long weekend! Two specials, sippin coffee on the patio and enjoying the wonderful atmosphere! Update: Enjoyed a lovely breakfast special on the patio and it did not disappoint! Bacon, scrambled eggs, rye, potatoes and coffee!

Great service, friendly staff! The family karts are a little small (I'm plus-sized, and my daughter and I were just a little squished) but very fun overall! For young kinds, I would strongly recommend earplugs for the sound, my 9-year-old said the motors were a little loud.

Went there for a birthday, it was amazing. The customer service was incredible, especially at the mini golf. The water at the bumper boats was very clean and did not have any diseases in it. The staff were very patient with us and had very clean habits. 10/10 would recommend.

The kids really enjoyed go-karting here. The owner was friendly, explained that he designed and built the whole facility over 30 years ago. Staff were friendly and helpful. Despite the other reviews, we found the staff followed Covid protocols. There's a great chip truck here as well

Great day with four kids. Very reasonably priced. Go karts are nice and comfortable, kids loved bumped boats and Pizza Hit the spot. We had a blast. Went for a day with friends (25yrs+) We wanted an outing but wanted to keep our money in town so we chose here. A few friends came as kids and the rest of us had never been. Sure I could offer some criticism on lipstick, but the reality? It is a locally owned and operated mom and pop fun park that is ridiculously fun!!! The staff, that slide thing is terrifyingly fantastic and we had a blast ripping on the go karts. We will be back!

Great place, wasn't terribly busy. The go karts are sweet and the bumper boats looked pretty cool. We mini putted and go karted, both were fun. After our mini put we were given free pizza slices, pretty cool!

I took the kids today and we had a great time. The karts were fast but easy enough for my 8yo to handle. We also did the bumper boats and mini golf. Not the fanciest place but good value for the money.

Great to visit on a hot summer day! This place is all about the experience of stopping on the side of the road in the middle of the country to have some locally made ice cream on a hot day. This place is more about the experience than the ice cream itself. The great thing about Central Smith Creamery is that they have a tonne of flavours and also offers a few dairy free options making it a great stop for the whole gang. Prices and portions are fabulous!

My son goes to school in Peterborough and we’ve been back-and-forth a little bit this summer and I must say, stopping here has become a must do on our way by! This is some of the best ice cream we have ever had. I love the wide variety of flavours and you can always tell that this is high quality ice cream compared to just about anything you’ll find in a supermarket. So rich and creamy. Staff are always super friendly and even if it’s lined up a little bit, the lineup always go very quickly. Don’t miss an opportunity to stop here on your way in or out of Peterborough !

On our way back from camping, we made a stop at this ice cream shop after checking its Google reviews — and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The Strawberries n Cream and Espresso Flakes were a perfect pairing, rich and refreshing, and I only wish I had room to try more flavors. If you’re ever driving through this area, do yourself a favor and make a stop — it’s a treat you won’t want to miss.

Super cute little place. We had a very short wait time even though they were super busy for national ice cream day. The ice cream was really good and did not disappoint with the add ins. We will definitely be back!

My 9-year-old son and I are exploring different activities in Peterborough. We are so glad we came to Rock and Rope. The facility has many kids-friendly routes; my son had lots of fun while getting a good workout. The staff member Alex is very patient and encouraging to my son. We will be back for more climbing with friends.

My two boys just finished day camp and absolutely loved it! Kate is so incredibly positive and wonderful. Highly recommend! I think all children need to experience this!

We have been to Rock and Rope for their Camp Climb program. It is so well organized. All the counselors are friendly and knowledgeable. Our kids were all smiles every day and so excited to show us what they learned. The price point is fine given that they have great camper to staff ratios, well trained staff and excellent programming. It looked like so much fun!

This weekend we had my daughter’s birthday there. There wasn’t really an area for the cake and table kind of thing, but we weren’t planning on doing that anyways. We had an hour with Finley to climb and he was amazing with all the girls, my youngest was four and he was so encouraging and understanding as she talked his ear off with excitement. All the girls had such a great time and it also really built their confidence as they talked about how high they got on the way home! Definitely highly recommend

I have been to this gym many times in the last 6 years. visiting from the US. always have a great time here. it's terrific exercise and everyone is very well trained and make sure the entire experience is very safe and enjoyable. The owners are great and super helpful rates

We had a great experience at rock and ropes tonight. We had quite a large group of new climbers from Trent University. There entire team was fast organized and friendly and got us all feeling comfortable on the ropes. Special Thanks to Ian who took the extra time in showing me how to and practice belaying. As someone who has never climbed before I was struggling with it quite a bit. Ian was awesome and super patient with me, showing multiple times and with kindness throughout. Thanks again to the entire team for making our experience awesome. We will definitely be back.

The climbing community of Peterborough deserves better. Rock and Rope's broken bike rack is a good representation of how much it cares about its clients. It is more expensive than gyms in the GTA. It is also small and packed at times. As if that were not enough, employees have been unfairly fired.

I spoke with a homeless 41 year old man today whom mentioned him and a fellow man had come to your church. They are a bit rough looking to the "perfect" are we not supposed to accept all as one in the body of Christ. This man had been baptized and came from a catholic home. Both him and his friend had gone to speak to God and he had told me that the Pastor had singled them both out as they arrived late- although venial sins need not to be confessed, an act of contrition could have been efficient in a sense of reflection? Do we label those who don't look perfect in our house when they are coming back to the LORD looking for guidance. How many are we going to keep turning away from the saving of our LORD Jesus Christ. CHRISTIANITY AND CATHOLICISIM ARE for the people not for a body of community members to pick and choose who is welcome. I myself have also not been told by the CHRISTIAN community that i needed to repent to a pastor after being baptized, which I am learning from walking into one of your Catholic Church, I am Protestant Christian and I would say a Catholic heritage. This man is as well. We all deserve the truth of how to receive Jesus and to truly be forgiven we cannot unless we repent to our Father in heaven with the assistance of a pastor and confession. The community within is lacking a moral compass of LOVE. So many homeless on the streets yet so many fear us. God says come as you are not as we are told to be by man. Come and lay down your burdens - not to be traumatized on returning to God Jesus Christ. The Great Hallel I am learning well is one of my favorite psalms. I also like psalm 118 before which clearly shows the transition in my eyes that for his mercy endureth forever. Does it not in yours? I am not a voice anyone likes to hear as it seems well what about these 2 men who have now fears the doors of the LORD because of man. Repentance can not be blocked from the people based of an ideology of a lost generation & appearance. Thanks be to God for his hand within my heart to write this to you today. The forgotten will not be punished by a lost un willing to HOPE generation-- would you say that is not fair not kind not mercy, we or I do not walk in light. I learned today the act of Justice is selfishness. I am not here as a voice of justice or revenge a voice for what is and what will be. The cathedral was open to visitors, all windows were opened, very welcoming. The painting above the altar is beautiful and the glass windows are a piece of art. Enjoyed the atmosphere in the cathedral, a retreat in times of suffering.

My guy and I brought our friend's daughter for her birthday. It was an amazing experience! From the warm greeting with fresh popcorn to the helpful tips we got during the Escape room, everything was great. There was a really warm and old timey vibe. We'd highly recommend it, and plan to come back again!

I was passing through Peterview with my son and decided to try an escape room on a whim. Glad we did. It was so much fun. We tried Gold Digger Dan and it was our speed to complete! The staff were amazing. I would go back to try another room.

Had an amazing time at the escape maze in the countryside of Peterborough! The setting is beautiful — peaceful, scenic, and a nice break from the city. The maze itself was super fun and challenging, with clever puzzles that kept us thinking the whole time. It’s well-designed and perfect for groups looking for something different to do. The staff were also really welcoming and helpful.

The room was so interactive, well thought out, and very entertaining. The grounds are very well maintained with an 1850’s theme. The puzzles were very clever, and I recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy quality time together as friends or family. I will definitely be back to try all the other rooms. This place is a great spot all around. We have been going there for years. The staff is always very friendly, and accommodating. The rooms are extremely well thought out and challenging. A really fun time for everyone. I cannot say enough good about this place and their employees. Highly recommended for date nights, or group activities.

The best! Was there yesterday with a group of 10-year olds for my daughter's birthday and all of the girls had so much fun. The Candy Factory Fiasco was such a fun room (I expected nothing less, from past experience) but more than that the staff were AMAZING and made the whole thing so much more special for these kiddos. We'll definitely be back!

10/10 experience. We did the "Wizards & Dragons" escape room and was SO cool. They even let us have extra time to finish when our allotted time was up. Super helpful and nice employees who gave us little hints but not the answers! Can't wait to try another room

Amazing place! Booked an event last weekend for a party. Nick was amazing - funny, extremely helpful, and had great positive energy! Everyone had a great time. The venue itself is cool, great style. They have a great selection of drinks (alcohol and non-alcoholic) and felt really welcoming. 10/10 would come back for events and to try out their league.

Peterborough Axe is the way to go! I planned a surprise 30th birthday for my husband and Carlo and his team went above and beyond. I honestly don't have enough words to describe how absolutely amazing they are. The facility is well laid out and super clean. We had a bunch of kids that played and the instructors were amazing with them! Thank you again to Carlo & his fantastic team for everything and we will absolutely be back again!

Great place to go out and have some fun with friends. They have both ace throwing and darts. They have a decent beer and cooler selection as well. I went with a couple other people and we had a good time. The price seemed fairly reasonable. I would go back.

What a blast! My first time going there and Carlo was awesome at instructing and demonstrating . Went with a great group of people. OMG it is a must do! Can't wait to do it again.

I go every Tuesday and just joined league, it's always fun to practice, learn trick shots, and hangout with other players and staff. Such a fun experience! The moment we walked into the club we were greeted by our friendly instructor, who taught us the rules and how to throw. The next two hours flew by, we had such a good time! Can't wait to go back.

Less maintenance place, but just a historical place to see the lift lock with how the hydraulic system works here in this water way.

Really interesting and well maintained place! Parks Canada has a building beside the lift locks, full of historical information. There is a little movie theater, a museum, and staff available for any questions you might have. There is also a washroom! Surrounded by well maintained public areas, it's a nice place for a picnic... at the very least. If you're lucky, you'll get to see the locks in action as boats traveling up and down the river use the locks...as they were when they were first engineered and built! Apparently there are only 8 of these locks in the world! Kids and adults alike will learn and enjoy visiting here! There is also a gift shop.

Very cool piece of architecture. One of eight lift locks in the world. This one states that it is the tallest. Don't just walk around at the bottom. Be sure to explore all the stairs and go up to the top. It's totally worth it. There are historic signs posted that help you appreciate it for what it is. Definitely a must stop place.

One of the greatest waterways structures, that was the # one in the world for years. It works using water and gravity , the best practical example of the Lift Lock is a Seasaw ! You can find many good videos online about how a lift lock works, but remember do not mix the lift lock with Lock !!!!! The Peterborough Lift Lock , has a great picnic area around the lift lock, very good visitor centre with great services, also there is a two hours cruise that passes through the lift lock. If you like engineering structures, do not miss this !!!!!

Visit June 26, 2018. Nice visitors centre and park area around this fascinating structure and marvel of engineering. Trent-Severn waterway Lock #21 is uplifting. Great spot for a picnic or moving a marine vessel up or down 19.8 meters.

Offered interactive free activities for kids, some excellent historical static displays explaining the lift lock development and construction. Nice little movie about the Trent-Severn construction. Staff were very friendly and informed.

Beautiful place, especially in the fall. Locks shut down for the winter after Thanksgiving weekend but still beautiful place to walk around.

Been here twice and both times had a blast! Staff are super helpful and polite, rooms are drastically different and actually take some time to figure out. Would recommend to anyone in the area looking for something fun to do!

Recently did the prison escape room with my friends and had a blast! It had us working as a team, thinking outside the box, and breaking out of "jail cells"! It was hard enough, but didn't make us feel stupid. Would definitely do another one in the future!

I wouldn't say the rooms are in pristine condition but they are so much fun and the perfect amount of difficult. The Lady working there when we went was so friendly and lovely to deal with. They have tons of board games to occupy your time if you have to wait at all. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back!

What a fun experience! When we showed up, there was no staff there due to unforeseen circumstances but the owner was quick to respond to our messages and showed up in no time to let our group in! He was so accommodating and went the extra mile to make sure our group was happy in spite of the situation. We did the Jail escape and it was SO much fun! I have done several escape rooms but this was one of my favourites. Challenging yet possible - our 90 year old grandma even participated and had the best time! Thank you Lift Lock Escape for the fun experience!

I booked an event at Lift Lock Escape for an event for my workplace. James was incredibly helpful to deal with; very accommodating and quick with responses to my emails. The rooms themselves were a lot of fun and very creative. Everyone who participated had a great time!

We did the Edison room, and we thought it was very well designed and was very creative. We had a lot of fun with it. We really liked how they linked things within the puzzle to Peterborough - that was a really nice touch! Will definitely go back to check out some of their other rooms!

Was a beautiful day for the trip. The captain gave great commentary. It would have been good if could have gone up further to see Trent U it is so picturesque from the water. Overall worth the money!

Went for a nice cruise yesterday. They have snacks, drinks (regular and alcoholic), and washrooms on board. The lift locks were slow, so the cruise was 2 hours and 40 minutes long.

We’ve done this cruise twice now and had a great experience each time. The captain is extremely knowledgeable about the lift lock history and system but really makes the cruise fun with his sense of humour. Only downside side is they only accept cash payment so please be prepared. Great experience for all ages!

A good tourist attraction. Well organized. Tickets are available on site in cash only. Credit cards are not accepted. It is recommended to arrive early in order to purchase tickets.

Nice tour with the tour guide Jody sharing a wealth of history, anecdotes, and humorous surprises about Peterborough and the Trent Canal. Riding the world’s highest lift locks is an experience!

Definitely worth the money. Especially if u don't go on too busy of a day. The staff are awesome. Ill be honest, when those Le Boat rentals rolled in like idiots I got nervous but the staff handled it great. The tour was the coolest view u will get of the lock aside from owning your own boat and the locks aren't the only thing worth seeing.

September 2025, called and spoke with Jenny to book 3 hour cruise for October. The cruise was almost sold out. Recommend to make reservations ahead of time. Jenny was very professional and customer service oriented. Jenny was able to answer all my questions and provided my confirmation number on a phone. Will update with details after the cruise south Otanabee River via locks 19,20 and 21.

I had the pleasure of judging the 2025 Mac & Cheese Festival where The Boardwalk Cafe offered a French Onion Mac & Cheese. Very creative and delicious!

We have had a holiday lunch the last two years at the Boardwalk Cafe. The food is delicious and the service incredible. They are happy to help us select games to play -and were even able to find a team building game that 15 of us could participate in! I highly recommend the Boardwalk Cafe. It is so easy to organize a group there - with each person being charged 8$ to attend and then pay for their lunch. Also a fun spot for a date night or afternoon! Can't say enough good things!

One of my favorite hangout spots. Love the events they throw here. Food and drink are basically entirely localized which is nice to see. Dylan really knows his stuff with these games, and you can tell Conor cares about the food he puts out. Presentation is always immaculate.

Friendly, kind, and super helpful staff. Will explain any game and help you learn it. Delicious food - omg was it good, would go back just for this. The cookies, brisket sandwich and mac and cheese were top tier. All in a cozy atmosphere. 10/10 will be coming again.

The Boardwalk Board Game Lounge is an absolute gem of a place! They host a ton of community events (boardgame meet-ups, art crawls, used game events) and support other local businesses by sourcing an impressive number of their menu items locally. Huge selection and variety of games for avid gamers (check out their massive and expanding list of over 600 games online), a social night out with friends (wavelength/cards against humanity/red flags), or families looking to play the classics (sorry, blockus). The owners are beyond friendly and welcoming. I'm always impressed by them recognizing and greeting people as they enter, and they can always provide a thorough and thoughful teach of the games in their library. Plus, there are specific LGBTQ+ boardgame events. A final note - THE FOOD IS SO GOOD. If you've been to other board game cafe's it's easy to see how they've elevated their simple menu items to make them insanely delicious and unique. There are also fantastic vegetarian options. And yes, splurge for the dessert. TLDR: Great People, Great food, Great place. Order dessert.

Amazing as always. I crave the fresh baked cookies and lime popcorn constantly. Great selection of games and they are always willing to explain how to play so you don’t have to read or interpret dance the instructions.

Even though the Trent-Severn Waterway wasn't operational during my visit, it was still a beautiful and worthwhile experience. Walking along the waterway and seeing the historic locks up close gave me a real appreciation for the engineering and history behind this iconic Canadian site. The peaceful surroundings, combined with the impressive structures, made it a lovely place to explore and learn. Interpretive signs along the way helped bring the history to life, even without the boats moving through. It’s clear that once it’s fully open for the season, it must be an incredible place to experience on the water. I’m really looking forward to returning when the waterway is operational — but even now, it’s absolutely worth the visit for its scenic beauty and fascinating history!

Embarked on a cruise featuring the world's tallest hydraulic lift lock, witnessing the fascinating science behind its operation. Marveled at how the boat rises with the water level through this ingenious system. Remarkably, this engineering feat has been in use since 1904. The manually operated bridges along the route evoked a sense of stepping back in time. An unmissable experience for history and engineering enthusiasts alike.

Got caught on the motorbikes in a downpour coming south on hwy 50 to Campbelford and swung into Lock 13. John was amazing providing us a dry area . Very helpful and friendly. Will gladly return for visits

We camped at lock 35 on Trent Severn. It was a great experience with family. Kids love the camping at OTENTIKS in lock 35. Parks Canada has done a fantastic job managing and maintaining. The staffs were so helpful and knowledgeable. We love to see and meet lot of people who were mooring around and lot of couples coming all the way from US. We also enjoyed renting a Avalon 60hp from Rosedale Marina.

We stayed at Otentik , great experience. Each spot had a private cabin, beach, fire pit, and BBQ. Good vibes, and park staff were helpful

We went camping to this place last year, it was so beautiful. Watching the boat locks was a great experience. The trails around these areas were so beautiful especially to see the sunshine in the morning.

Did a tour on a beautiful July day. Very well organized - knowledgeable staff - locks are amazing. Way more entertaining than I would have imagined.

We did the all around the park for myself and two kids (7 and 10). We had so much fun. The kids loved all of it(mini golf , water balloons, paintball target practice and batting cage), and it is a great deal($90 for the 3 of us). The young guys working there were fantastic and so helpful. We will definitely be going back to check out the other activities there

My boyfriend and I came here to play some mini-golf. This is a great cute and fun activity for a date night game if you're looking for something to do with your partner. It's silly but we actually enjoyed ourselves quite a bit. Our ball kept going into the water and we had to fish it out a few times but overall I actually really enjoyed this.

Cute decor makes this gem of a miniputt place have that rural small town feel- even though this is in the middle of the city! Miniputt course is well designed, batting cages, water wars, panning for gold and paintball are recommended as well.

Really nice mini putt. Some holes have older turf to play on but really it don't matter if your there for fun. Well done up and worth the visit and games.

Great price and not too busy when we were there. Some of the holes could use some new turf but the course in general has lovely landscaping and scenery around it!

Fun spot. We did the 18 hole mini putt only. They offer batting cages, paintball target practice, a rock panning station to look for gems etc. Unique spot and friendly staff. Took about an hour to do the course.

It’s a neat place to go BM. There is a woman who has set up a makeshift shelter for herself, she is very resilient. The benches are comfortable. I enjoy the aesthetics, something about dull and boring that speaks to me personally.

Our windows overlook the rink, it is wonderful to watch people and families enjoy the facility so much! Sometimes, due to weather the rink has to be closed for part of the day, and possibly also re-opens later. Is there a website that would advise as to whether the oval is open for skaters?

Cute place to skate! Well maintained ice for an outdoor rink. There are no bathrooms, changerooms, or skating supports for kids on site so come prepared.

Finally a good reason to bring the family downtown for some outdoor fun, besides Silver Bean in the summer. If downtown is going to thrive vs survive we need to create functional destinations beyond the restaurant scene.

Went there for the book and zine fest, everyone was very nice and help with several questions I had. Will be going back for the textile exhibit they have going on starting the 15th of March.

The Trent U Cultural Studies Culture X Expo was exceptional. Provocative work challenging norms, exploring media and creating an engaging viewer experience. Bravo to all the Profs & students involved.

Fantastic space and welcoming, inclusive staff. Lots of events throughout the year. A staple of the Peterborough cultural scene and even has a cool little library (that not many people know about!) with many art publications.

I've never been to the Artspace until I played there with my band in the back room. It was a small, cool sounding room with a great atmosphere. Would love to a year there again sometime.

Amazing gallery, great content and friendly staff. Their events are well-advertised and always such interesting ways to spend a Friday or Saturday.

My granddaughter enjoys the art course there.

Great show space for local artists to display their works. Art is beyond beautiful.

Great experience! Our 4 yr old grandson was excited to see all the reptiles .. snakes, alligators/ crocodiles!! We were under the impression this was a drive through however that is no longer an option. There are roads, gravel to walk through the Dino creatures so recommend good walking shoes. They also have a museum Dino displays building , some Dino’s are robotic, make noises. I’ve added a few photos of just some of the many photos we took! I can’t show all its many fine features this place offers! Price was decent for the experience, would recommend this to anyone passing through ! Clean washrooms upon entering the check in. Not much in the way of spots to stop and rest during the walk of the Dino layout. For younger kids a wagon is a great option as our grandson found it too much so we are glad we brought ours. Staff were very friendly and helpful! There is a mini putt at the entrance and a food truck was also available. Inside has the typical visitor gifts to purchase! And a small ice cream bars to purchase! We grabbed our treat when we departed! Thanks for a great experience!!

Fantastic place!! I went with my 3 year old, this place is also a non-profit reptile sanctuary! I have never veen so close to a black mamba or cobra before!! The dinosaurs were huge the walking path was smooth enough for a stroller. You are able to bring food and there are picnic benches throughout.

Awesome afternoon! The kids really enjoyed all the moving and still dinos! Bring good shoes, lots of walking. Amazing to see all the rescued reptiles, alligators, crocodiles, tortoises, snakes and more! Highly recommend if you love dinosaurs!

We stopped at Canada’s Dinosaur Park on our way from Toronto to Quebec thinking it would be a fun break for our 4 year old who loves dinosaurs but it was honestly a letdown. These are basically large toy models that move slightly with sound effects that are too low to really impress. They no longer have a drive thru option just a walk thru which takes around 20 minutes to complete. They do have a section with live animals like snakes, turtles and alligators which was a bit more interesting. But overall my son got bored just a few minutes in and we expected more for the price we paid. $25 per adult and $15 per child feels too steep for what is offered. Something like $10 and $15 would be more reasonable. If you are local maybe try it once but I would not recommend making a special trip just for this. It is not worth a long drive.

My kid loved it here. Something different and I thought the trailer would be short but it wasnt. Time we'll spent and they are a non profit organization and take care of the animals with what they make there. Check them out, you won't be disappointed.

Canada Dinosaur Park is a very nice place to visit, especially for families. The entrance fee is reasonable, so it doesn’t feel overpriced compared to other attractions. The life-sized dinosaurs and displays are fun and engaging, and it’s a great spot for kids to explore and enjoy. That said, the park could use a bit more maintenance in certain areas. Some of the installations are starting to look a little worn, and a bit of upkeep would really help make the experience even better. Overall though, it’s a good outing that balances fun, affordability, and a unique theme.

They do have some trails in this park. This park allows biking, running or walking around, and pet friendly.

Peaceful and well maintained! Not much parking available. 20 vehicles or so max. If you have respiratory issues, please be careful as the gravel road causes clouds of dust each time a biker passes by or if there's wind. Wasn't crowded therefore people don't tend to wear masks there.

My roommates and I live just down the road from here, we come all the time and love it. It's walking distance from most of Parkhill and Chemong, or from downtown. The trails are always groomed and there's both hills and flat ground. Would recommend for any time of the year.

Omg! It's such a peaceful place to let go off your stress. One can go pick either parkway trail or Jackson creek trail to embrace this beautiful hub of nature. I thoroughly enjoyed the calmness of the park alongside the beautiful lake.

I've spent tons of summers here hiking the trails here. Great for taking your dog for a walk or mountain biking in the back woods. Definitely gotta see it if you're looking for nature in Peterborough

Jackson Park is to Peterborough what Central Park is to New York. I can get lost for hours there with my dog. There are ways to find paths that are less frequented so that my dog can enjoy leash-free exercise without it disturbing anyone. (Not recommended for every dog owner) There are still plenty of accessible paths available for leashed-dogs, just as beautiful. It's a beautiful forest, nestled in the heart of the city, honestly feel so lucky to have access to such a beautiful space, any season.

The Pièce de résistance in hiking, walking and biking! Numerous offroad trails, plus the main gravel trail that goes through the park and well beyond. The old railway, now part of the Trans Canada Trail. Jackson creek runs through, down to the large pond and pagoda bridge flowing all the way down to the Otanabee River. Enjoyable outings no matter the season.

A Quiet Getaway, Del Crazy Park is a pleasant spot for a leisurely stroll or picnic, but it may not be the most exciting destination for those seeking thrilling activities. The park offers a peaceful atmosphere with green space. One of the highlights of the park is the lift lock cruise, but it may not be as thrilling as some visitors might expect. The cruise offers a unique perspective on the local waterways, but the pace is relatively slow.

Nice park. There will be concerts in the area. There is a liftlock cruise nearby where we can go with reservations. There is parking available nearby. There is a paid parking lot on weekdays and free on weekends.

Great park to walk around and enjoy Little Lake. The towering fountain is also an enjoyable detail. Though it is unfortunate that they had to dismantle the concert stage.

We participated in CIBC Run for the cure and it was a great event as always. We had our company team join to help raise donations and to give back to the community. It was great to see so many people participate after a few years of the void. Park was very clean and event staff/volunteers did a great job running the event.

Amazing park for hiking lots of shades to stay and relax with your family in front of the lake. The left lock is amazing experience. The price is 30 for adults and 15.5 for kids. The is washrooms in the boat.

It was a great night for the Musicfest. The band was vreat. My family always have their special spot so they can fish. Their was a booth Desjardin taking free pic. You culd still see the fountsin change colours at night. The people are so kind everyone enjoying the concert. Their is picnic tables around . I will for sure go back nxt year.

Very good park need to visit and taste delicious food around park. but we unhappy missed summer concert this time
