Government Buildings
The New York State Capitol is a stunning historical landmark with a renaissance-revival design that serves as the seat of government for the state. The building boasts intricate architectural details both inside and out, including features reminiscent of a French chateau. Free tours are available on weekdays, providing visitors with an opportunity to appreciate the beauty and grandeur of this majestic structure.
Paid street parking is available. If you park on State Street, it is easy to get to the State Capitol building and to the I Love NY letters The building is an absolute masterpiece of late 19th-century architecture, with a stunning blend of Romanesque and Renaissance styles. It's truly a sight to behold, both inside and out. The intricate stone carvings and the grand staircases are particularly impressive—the "Million Dollar Staircase" is wonderful and feels like something out of a fantasy novel.
Asiri B — Google review
Must see. The three massive, intricately carved interior stone staircases alone are worth the free admission and your time, now with restored skylights admitting gorgeous natural light. Don’t miss the Hall of New York paintings gallery or resplendent assembly chamber with its stained glass windows and carved coffered ceiling.
Rebecca T — Google review
The New York State Capitol building is truly breathtaking. Its intricate and unique architecture stands out with incredible detail and craftsmanship. The massive stone structure is both historic and majestic, making it one of the most impressive landmarks in Albany. Whether you’re into architecture or just sightseeing, this is definitely a place worth visiting.
Tara — Google review
Absolutely incredible. We have been to almost every capitol building in the US and this one is my favorite! Wish we could have done the tour. Simply stunning architecture and so much variety. Great exhibits inside. Street parking was relatively inexpensive.
Melissa M — Google review
Of all the 35 or so state capitols I have seen, this is probably the best. The scale and architecture of the place is amazing. Came on a Saturday during a pass through of the area, so didn't get to see the inside, which I am sure is fabulous. I am sure parking on a weekday not fun. I will definitely be back to tour the inside.
Jimmer W — Google review
This Capitol is amazingly beautiful. If you happen to be in the area it is 100% worth the visit. They offer free tours, and Amy did a great job today.
Dawnie — Google review
During covid restrictions my soon to be wife and I were went to nyc city hall and registered it was not a good experience. We had to call to get a actual date to get our license. And it was not to our liking so we called albany state building and a actual person picked up and we were able to get married as soon as the upcoming weekend . Even with social distance and mask mandates ps we got to take them off to kiss it all was a great experience.
Dwayne W — Google review
The New York State Capitol is one of the most stunning buildings in Albany — a masterpiece of stonework and history. The Million Dollar Staircase inside is breathtaking, with intricate carvings, portraits, and details that show off incredible craftsmanship. Every corner feels like a piece of art. Whether you’re into architecture, history, or just want a beautiful place to explore, this building is a must-see.

The Albany Institute of History & Art is a prestigious museum that showcases the local culture and history through various exhibits. It is home to renowned collections like Wyeth's family BOA art collection, Hudson river school paintings, 19th century American Sculpture, ancient Egypt artifacts and colonial Albany displays. The museum also features remarkable posters from the train travel era in 1920s-1930s.
this place was such an unexpected gem. Do not skip it. If you’re in the area or if you live in the area and you haven’t been grab a friend take your kids and go. It was such a wonderful place. They have an exhibition currently going on I want to say through April 12 I could be wrong but it’s on the current events and social justice warriors, environmentalist, many others, educators, civil servants… and has little bio pics and I absolutely adore that exhibit. There were several other exhibits that were amazing. I honestly can’t say enough. The work of these artists, the details! It’s amazing…. The gift shop looked amazing too. Wow.
Sarah B — Google review
The staff were really nice. They had a great set of exhibits but there some typos in the descriptions. The art was beautiful. We were so pleased that we got to see an Egyptian exhibit here in Albany!
Rachel C — Google review
Surprising! Went for a class trip. I don't know why Albany doesn't publicize gems like this. Well curated collection. One of the oldest museums in the country. Wonderful programming for class trip.
Debra M — Google review
Beautiful building with interesting history and wonderful exhibitions. I was there for the Curran exhibit-On the Road to Cragsmoor but walked through a few others. Lots to see! And they have mummies! I did not get to see those this visit but I will go back. The story of how the mummies were acquired is very interesting on its own.
April M — Google review
This was an amazing museum. The workers that work here are very polite and professional, and very well informed about the museum. The different displays of modern and traditional art were great because it produced a diversity of artistic expressions. There was a good mixture of sculpture and painted art. My favorite part is that it displays, the history of upstate New York, which I find to be fascinating. I shall be making a video on YouTube about this. It is definitely well worth the visit.
Jim M — Google review
Recently visited this well curated museum. Current Charles Courtney Curren exhibit is highly recommended as is the enormous gallery filled with Hudson River School paintings.
Mitchell M — Google review
The Albany Institute of History and Art is among the ten oldest museums in the United States. Established in 1791, it is also the oldest museum in the state if New York. I really enjoyed my stroll through the museum. The employees and guides were a delight to interact with. This museum houses more than 25,000 objects and one million documents spanning art, archaeology, and regional history. The vast collection of historic artifacts from Dutch settlers is very impressive. You will also find art and relics from as far as Egypt among the collections. Plan on spending the better part of the day here. There is much to see and experience. At a current cost (June 2025) of $12 admission for adults, it is a great deal.
Fred A — Google review
Took 4 kids (ages 4-8) here over the summer. We were there for about 1 1/2 Hrs and the kids had a good time. We did a scavenger hunt for some items in the museum, I read a bunch of the descriptions to them and answered any questions they had. The staff was very nice, professional and helpful. It's like to go back with my husband so we can explore a little more though 😉

The Albany Pine Bush Preserve is a stunning 3,200-acre nature sanctuary located in Albany County, New York. This unique inland pine barrens ecosystem features over 18 miles of trails that wind through picturesque landscapes filled with pitch pines, vibrant wildflowers, and expansive sand dunes. Formed thousands of years ago at the end of the last Ice Age, this globally rare habitat supports diverse wildlife and offers visitors an opportunity to engage with nature through interactive exhibits and programs.
I go to the Pine Bush 3-4 times per week! If you just want to hike, just show up! If you are interested in their shows and presentations, go online to find them. They are always interesting and fun.
Atticus D — Google review
Wide range of paths, from a quarter mile to several miles long. It felt so far away from all the busyness in the area; it was like taking a day trip to an isolated area. There was no fee to go on the trails. As an added bonus, the discovery center, which is full of information, is free to explore.
Nicole B — Google review
The Discovery Center is fun to explore & Learn. Plenty of Parking there with accessible walkways. Push button auto opening doors. Very friendly staff and a small but extensive gift shop. I didnt explore the trails in this visit there are many to enjoy.
Landon M — Google review
Quaint place to walk with various trails in a park with meadows. The trails are clearly and frequently marked which is very nice. They are also well maintained and you get some decent views as you wander around. My main complaint would be the amount of road noise but that isn't something I hold against the park considering its location. I would be open to coming back and tying some of the longer trails.
Jozef W — Google review
Love running here. You can park in the new parking lot on Kings Rd and run a huge ~8 mile loop towards the main building and back. Not all the trails are mowed, but the primary trails are great.
Billy M — Google review
If you like walking through the woods, this place is great. I enjoy keeping active by taking my kids here to walk. There are bathrooms (check hours) and a welcome center to help you learn about this unique ecosystem. I have walked all the trails and they offer a diverse look into the ecology of the pinebush as well as a relaxing opportunity for being active.
Larry K — Google review
Lovely afternoon walk! Loads of birds. The Lupine is springing up everywhere and it looks absolutely spectacular. Very clean and tidy trail. Not very busy. Always a lovely adventure. I love that dogs are welcome!
Shane L — Google review
Best place to go for a walk in Albany by far. Just beautiful scenery. It's a little loud at the start, being near a highway, but once you walk deeper into the trail it becomes quiet and serene. I will say though, don't do any trails around here in flip flops since your feet will get really dirty. The trails are covered with sand and are expansive, covering many miles with many trail heads to start out from, not just the most common ones at the vistor center.

Nestled at the southern end of Albany's Empire State Plaza, the New York State Museum stands as a testament to the rich tapestry of New York's natural and cultural history. Established in 1836, it proudly holds the title of being the oldest and largest state museum in America. Visitors can explore over 100,000 square feet dedicated to diverse exhibitions that delve into topics ranging from Native American heritage to Adirondack wilderness and even artifacts from 9/11.
I love the carousel ride on the 4th floor. Open from 11am to 4pm, except Mondays (closed). The ride is available every half hour, so arrive a few minutes early. It is worth the wait.... loved it. The 9/11 remembrance section is very poignant and brings back memories from that time.
Priscilla P — Google review
I have visited this museum on several occasions. About 3 and enjoyed it every time. I visited by myself and twice with my wife. The first was just out of curiosity. My wife's family lives in Albany so while renting a airbnb we stopped by this museum. No long lines but inside there were a great deal of people. There is a sesame place exhibit and a African American exhibit detailing life throughout the 20th century. There is also a 911 exhibit that is hard to watch with actual fire trucks from the attacks damaged and all. I didn't realize this museum existed. I don't believe I finished the exploration after 3 times .it's free and worth the trip.
Dwayne W — Google review
Parking was free on weekend. Spent about 1.5 hours in the museum - could have spent more time. Admission was free. Interesting exhibits.

Absolutely love it here. Ive been going since a little kid with my dad and I love going it makes me feel like a piece of my father is still around ❤

We wanted an education about the earth and it's movement. Rocks and movement upon the millennium. We received a grand education of millions of years. From the smallest of shells and plants that held safest to the layers of life. To, perhaps us. Thank you.
Charles B — Google review
This museum has exhibits about natural history as well as the Metropolitan. I only visited the part about the metropolis. Most of the displays are old items brought from New York City, such as antique fire trucks and decorative pieces taken from demolished buildings. The layout isn’t very well organized, and the flow feels a bit confusing.
Dylan W — Google review
A visit to the NY State Museum instills a sense of awe and respect for history and diversity of NY. Kid-friendly and free, this museum has something for everyone. Highlights include exhibits on indigenous people, migrants arriving at Ellis Island, African Americans and Harlem, and the tragedy of 9/11. The museum can benefit from updates and more interactive features. Don’t forget to ride the classic carousel on the 4th floor and rekindle your inner child.
Augusto P — Google review
A great museum showcasing New York history, although some exhibits felt a bit outdated. The place was lively with many enthusiastic children enjoying their visit on a Saturday. Unfortunately, the free parking lot next to the museum was unavailable today due to a special event on the plaza.

Lots to see here. We were limited on time so didn't take any tours but we walked around for about an hour. We also go there at closing time. We parked below for a flat $10 fee (credit card only). Took the elevator up and we were underneath the plaza. Can get to everything from there protected from the weather or can go up to the street level and access the other buildings that way. Love that there were great big artworks on the walls along the passageway.

Incredible spot. A must see if you are in the area. The grounds were very clean, parking was easy and convenient right underneath. We planned to stop for a few minutes and ending up spending 2 hours walking around.

Fascinating area. The breadth of the architectural approaches and styles is pretty amazing. Stopped by here for some pics and to soak it all in. Came on a Saturday, so parking was easy (parked on street across from the park). Added bonus is the remarkable state capitol at the edge. Would love to come back and explore a bit more.

The architecture is awesome and grandeur feeling is overwhelming .. Best time to visit is after 6pm during the sunset. The parking is available along the street for free after 5pm. They follow bring in and take out policy.. The famous iloveny symbol is another attraction.

Dutch Apple Cruises & Tours offers a unique experience along the Hudson River in Albany. Step aboard the Dutch Apple II, an old-fashioned riverboat reminiscent of 19th century New York, for a scenic cruise showcasing the area's natural beauty and its historical connection to the waterway. The tour provides insights into Albany's relationship with the river while offering picturesque views, especially during autumn when fall colors adorn the landscape. Additionally, visitors can explore Albany's attractions through initiatives like CDPHP Cycle!
Had an excellent time even though it was raining! Ample seating, immaculate bathrooms, and good prices at the bar. My friend and I were the only ones on the top deck, and the staff came up a handful of times to check on us/see if we needed anything. What great service! It was a nice way to spend an afternoon.
Kelly O — Google review
Fun boat ride down the Hudson with guided narration along the way. We learned some Albany history as well as what a few of the architecturally unique buildings were. We also saw eagles! The boat has a bar and a small cafe serving hot dogs, pretzels, etc. We had a great time and would recommend Dutch Apple to anyone who is visiting the Albany area.
Nancy R — Google review
Spent the afternoon on a sight seeing cruise aboard the Dutch Apple. The boat is well kept and sparkling clean. The staff is friendly, attentive, and helpful. The narrator was well informed about the Hudson and Capital District. We got to see 5 beautiful bald eagles, 2 nesting pairs! A delight to a bird nerd, like myself. My children, ages 11 & 8, and my mother, in her 60’s, equally enjoyed the experience. The kids even got to steer the boat with the captain! Food and snacks were great and drinks were cold! Highly recommend a cruise on the Dutch Apple!!
Kerilee B — Google review
It was a perfect Fall day cruise! We are from the area but never went on the Dutch Apple. The crew was so nice and very informative. The view of the City from the water was pretty cool to see. I highly recommend being a tourist in your own city. Special shoutout to Anthony ! There was a glitch with my tickets (my fault) and he worked with me to make it right. Thank you for a great experience!

In from Galveston, TX. IN Albany, NY for a very good friend's wedding. The tour was great with many historical facts and observations. Frank was a great ship captain, and Peter was a great narrator. Glad we took the tour.
Donald L — Google review
My family and I had a wonderful time on the Dutch Apple Cruise! Nancy, our narrator, was as entertaining as she was informative. Captain Frank was professional, cordial, and even gave our granddaughter an opportunity to "steer" the boat! The staff was extremely welcoming and even provided table service for food and drinks. It's something that my husband and I would definitely enjoy again with both family and friends! Thanks for a great day! :)
Tania J — Google review
The boat tour felt short. South was only trash and bald eagles. North would have been nicer. Drinks were good.

What a great experience! I lived in Albany for a significant part of my younger years. I came back to visit and took my family on this boat ride. I learned so much about Albany and the Hudson River history! The staff is super friendly. The food and drinks are moderately priced. The facilities are super clean. I'm looking forward to my next visit- trying the sunset cruise!

Located in a historic building, The Hollow Bar + Kitchen is a trendy spot that offers modern American cuisine, a variety of craft beers, and live music. This downtown Albany restaurant is known for its extensive selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes made with farm-fresh ingredients. Classic pub fare like 3-bean chili lager nachos, quesadilla, and fried mozzarella wedges can be prepared to suit these dietary preferences.
I was told to try the vegan steak dinner so I made a reservation and it was 10/10 amazing. The presentation wasn’t the best but the steak was so delicious the potatoes were seasoned very well and the greens were so good. The customer service was great I had a waitress covered in tattoos and she was so beautiful and kind her customer service was perfect! The vibe was great and I was greeted when I arrived and when I left. The meal was $30 and totally worth it I’m coming back for sure!

Hollow Restaurant offers a great dining experience with a few minor notes. The highlight for me was their paella – it was flavorful, but the tomato base leaned a bit too sour for my liking. That said, the quality of the ingredients and the presentation were spot-on. The service was excellent! The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure we felt well taken care of throughout the evening. Another standout was the beer selection – absolutely awesome! They have an impressive variety that caters to all tastes, from craft brews to classic favorites. Overall, Hollow Restaurant is definitely worth visiting. With a slight tweak to the paella’s seasoning, it could easily become a 5-star experience. I'll definitely be back to explore more of their menu!

Met a friend here for lunch and a drink at The Hollow. Our friend was at The Hollow the previous night to hear a DJ and said it was great. I had a Ranch Water to drink as we looked at the menu. My wife had a 6oz beer. For lunch we shared the Tennessee Hot with the Chicken (southern aioli, house sweet pickles, brioche $15.50) with the chips and a Kale Caesar salad (baby kale, grated parm, fried capers, house caesar dressing, grilled croutons $14.50. Everything was delicious and the bartender was friendly and attentive. I would go back there and try something else to eat and would like to go when they have music.
Bill L — Google review
My boyfriend and I went to The Hollow for dinner before our concert at The Empire, which is right next door. This place is phenomenal. Very unique space and amazing staff. Check out the menu there is a lot of vegan and vegetarian options and gluten free. We both had the ribeye with melted blue cheese and also the garlic smashed potatoes with the asparagus. For an appetizer we had the maple bacon brussels. Our waiter was very very kind and attentive. I definitely would go back again.
Amanda E — Google review
This place has multiple vegan options that are clearly indicated. Our server was very cognizant of what was vegan and not. All the food was good, nothing amazing. Really cool atmosphere. No step to enter. And ADA stalls in gendered restrooms. However, the bathrooms from the front main entrance are down three steps. There are likely other ways to the restroom, but this was our first time here.
Tracy M — Google review
Awesome experience here! Attended a group party here with over 40 people! They were able to fit us all pretty cozily in the space! The food was delicious and the desserts were unique! The staff and the chef clearly cared about their work! And those bread rolls...... were delicious! Parking is a hassle as every downtown area but definitely a place to try !

Absolutely beautiful venue! The decor and overall ambiance was stunning and the food was to die for. Everything was absolutely delicious! Especially the steak tips and green beans! (Sorry, I didn't get many photos and the rest I have have my family in them that I do not want to post. But seriously, it's beautiful and the food was so good! Even my super picky kids loved everything! And their brownies are Devine for dessert 😉)

Visitors are transported back in time upon entering the opulent venue with its impressive architecture and excellent acoustics.
I absolutely love this iconic venue. The architecture in it is Just amazing. The acoustics are awesome. Seats are pretty comfy. If you're up in the balcony, just know you have to take the stairs. There are no elevators. I've seen a lot of great concerts here over the years. Just last week I saw Melissa Etherridge again here.

The Palace Theatre is an amazing venue right in the heart of Downtown Albany. Despite its age, it has been restored and truly is a work of art. I found the venue to be very clean, the seats in the upper section were spacious, and the venue has streamlined the exits they have so getting out after a sold out show isn’t hard at all. Street parking is around the venue or if you prefer there are parking garages nearby.

Beautiful older well-kept venue in the heart of downtown Albany. We were there to see Australian Pink Floyd and had Loge seats in the balcony. Perfect seats with great views. Concession stands were reasonably priced compared to other venues. This building is a true gem with a million beautiful details.

One of the best concert venues in town! It's a gorgeous older theater with colorful murals and intricate sculptures everywhere. The chandelier is amazing. The sound is always good, and there isn't a bad seat in the house.

What a great place to see a concert! My boyfriend and I enjoyed an incredible show last week when Melissa Etheridge and a very pregnant Joss Stone came to town. We had great seats, but this place doesn't look like it has a bad seat in the house! The staff were friendly and helpful, and the bar lines moved quickly! I look forward to going back for many future performances! PS: Parking is also convenient and close, and the lot had a reasonable flat rate of $20 for the show!

Flew in from Louisiana to attend my daughter's graduation. When I saw The Palace Theater was the venue it was being held I thought to myself, "WOW! How beautiful and swanky"!!! Well, that was a quick assumption because how hot and uncomfortable they had that place was UNREAL!!! It was 93 degrees outside! Y'ALL SHOULD BE ASHAMED!!!! All of the graduates was on stage fanning themselves! I felt sorry for them because they had to be extremely hot with all those lights shining down on them!

We went to see Brad Williams and the line to get in went so smooth and so did the meet and greet! We had a great time!
DAwn F — Google review
The palace theatre is a beautiful venue. It has that old charm but more comfortable then most others like it. I could have spent hours just marveling at the beautiful architecture and designs. The show I saw (dweezil zappa) was great it seemed there was an issue with the lights for the stage but things happen. I was really happy with the experience and staff on hand.

Located in Crossgates Mall, Dave & Buster's Albany is a family-friendly chain that offers a sports-bar-style setting for American food and arcade games. Visitors can enjoy a day of entertainment at the mall, with options like 5 Wits adventure experience and Space Adventure Mini Golf. Guests have praised the exceptional service provided by staff members such as Ashley and Breona, who were knowledgeable about the menu and attentive to their needs.
I recently visited Dave & Buster's for the arcade experience and had a great time. There were plenty of game options to choose from, ranging from classic shooters to unique interactive games. A few of my favorites were Halo, Big Buck Hunter, and the Axe Throwing game (with rubber axes). I purchased the $55 credit package, which provided a little over 300 credits. In about 2.5 hours, I used about half of my credits, so there's definitely enough playtime for multiple visits or a longer session. The arcade was well-maintained, and the game selection was diverse, offering a mix of skill-based and ticket-winning games. Overall, it was a fun experience with lots of entertainment value. If you're looking for a place to enjoy a variety of arcade games, Dave & Buster's is a solid choice. I'll definitely be back to play more!

So fun with our out of town family. Huge variety of games to play for all ages. Some carnival style games were our favorite. Claw machine for large tickets was very wobbly. The duck machine had lots of variety ducks and you play till you win. Hugh tech Halo and car and sport games. Basket and football throws. Easy machines to load your playcard. Remember to keep them for future trips otherwise they charge $3 for a new card. Recommend for all ages and br prepared to spend lots of time there depending how long you want to play. We didn't eat there but as we walked by it looked like good food and pretty bar area.

Nestled just a short drive from downtown Albany, Huck Finn's Playland is a charming amusement park that has been delighting families since its inception in 1951. Originally known as Hoffmans Playground, this nostalgic venue offers an array of kiddie rides and family attractions that cater to younger children and their parents alike. With around a dozen delightful rides—including roller coasters, merry-go-rounds, and train rides—there’s no shortage of fun for little ones.
Great little place, especially for toddlers & preschoolers. We went today for a special birthday treat and it was $40 for 25 tickets and it lasted us (2 children) for over 3 hours. They have some food, drinks, and snacks there as well that are extremely reasonably priced. Cool train ride going every 30 mins twice around the park so about 5 mins. Bathrooms are all flush and decently clean. Easy parking and convenient location, we will certainly be back with friends! Thanks for a great day 😀
Dallas G — Google review
We took our two-year-old grandson and it was perfect for him. The rides were fun and the appropriate time. We spent three hours there. It was reasonably priced. What I liked most was no teenage rides and thus no wild teenagers in an amusement park! The area around the park was pretty gritty, but it didn’t bother us. Most of the people in the park were a little trashy, but acceptable. The bathrooms also needed some attention.
Steve K — Google review
Great little amusement park. Went in May on a Sunday, basically no lines so you make the most of your time. Classic rides. My 10 year old said it was the best, better than waiting an hour for a Rollercoaster in a big park. Some of th rides have a height maximum so check it out before you get too excited. Still plenty to do for kids over 48"
Rachel M — Google review
$20 wristband day was well worth it. I can't say I'd go any other day for the price. The kids had a blast and the old school bus was a hit. I took off a star because they were out of all cotton candy except banana an hour after opening. The young staff were great and very fun and polite. I'm sure we'll be back. :)
Mariko H — Google review
Our kids thoroughly enjoyed the two hours we spent here; they are 12 and 9. We went on a Sunday and bought wristbands for unlimited rides, and a few tickets for adults. The staff were all so friendly and the park was impeccably clean, and the classic rides were in great shape. As other reviewers mention, Huck Finn Playland is in a more industrialized area of Albany, but it's safe and accessible. There was a nicely mixed crowd of people in the park. Highly recommend!

Came here for My kids birthday party event and it was completely amazing. The kids attending ranged in age 1-15 and they all had a great time!!! Thank You Guys!!! Definitely recommend this place to hold a child's birthday bash or a day trip!! There was a short to none wait time to get on rides but all worth it.

Give Samantha a raise 🙏. 10/10 experience though, I love going here! The food prices are quite expensive though. Great food, don’t get me wrong, but $3.25 for a bottle of water…? Sheesh.

Growing up, Huck Finn’s Playland was my ultimate playground! The colorful kiddie rides, the classic Ferris wheel, and the sweet scent of concessions take me back to endless summer days of laughter and joy. Park Playhouse is a seasonal venue located in Washington Park, Albany, offering free open-air drama and musical performances since 1989. The amphitheater seating can accommodate up to 1,500 people and the stage is set at the Lakehouse within the park. While some visitors have opted for reserved seating at a cost, others have enjoyed the free shows. Despite varying opinions on seating comfort and pricing, many praise the high-quality productions with powerful performances and fantastic music.
Very fun activities. It is one of a few activities where you can see a nice melting pot crowd. The best thing it is free for all of us to enjoy. Washington Park should be at the top of your list next time you come to visit us.

This take on the play borders on grotesque. Jud dies *not* by falling on his own knife but rather by Curly shooting him after Jud drops his gun! And the town of white people quickly absolve Curly of murder, after which he sings "oh what a beautiful day" after murdering someone on his wedding day. Ugh.

We saw Oklahoma! here summer 2025 and enjoyed the outdoor atmosphere. Highly recommend getting there early to get a good seat, and be prepared for outdoor weather. Parking is free on the road or $10 in the parking area close to the theater. Bring your own chairs and any food or beverage you would like, but concession stand is also available. Bathrooms inside the building.

So much fun and so accommodating for an outdoor event. Not crowded at all and bathrooms were clean as well as the park. The play was entertaining and funny. All the actors and singers were amazing! They truly showed great professionalism when ambulance showed up for a person in the crowd. They stopped the play until emergency responders did their thing and took the patient to the hospital.

Really nice experience. Our second play in the park. Tonight we saw In the Heights. Great cast, music, and overall production. Sat in the seating area which was pretty comfy. I wish the play started earlier-perhaps around 6 or 630, instead of after 8... so that its more kid/family friendly.

It’s a hidden gem.. the perfect five star fun park for kids of any age.. we were driving back from Vermont to New Jersey and found this place on the way.. it’s actually wanted to do some go karting and I found this place through Google and it had good reviews.. yeah even though it’s not the biggest go karting tracks kids had ample fun.. a smaller track but they had about 21 laps per person.. It was fun. Kids went to the go kart twice .. and pricewise. It wasn’t exuberantly expensive like other the so-called go karting tracks… we paid about $70 for 12 activities, which wasn’t bad at all.. There were also batting cages. Kids had fun hitting baseballs at 405060 MPH. Mini golf was fun too… they had 14 holes and somewhere really difficult.. kids also loved the basketball area .. Really good place to past time for about two or three hours . Staff were so friendly and helpful… not much to eat around, but they had cold drinks.. very good experience overall ..

I cannot thank the team that allowed my son to have the best birthday and time. Each associate made him feel special and gave him an amazing time. He loved soaring through the sky higher than he has ever gone before and even drove his 1st go cart. The associates were extremely patient and understanding since he has spectrum issues, they ensured he was comfortable so he could have the most thrilling time ever. I truly cannot say how great these young men were and the great their approach was. They wanted to give him a great experience and they definitely delivered that. We cannot wait to come back and make more amazing memories!!

Sadly this place has fallen off a cliff in quality. Condition is deplorable- It desperately needs investment as the mini golf course is falling apart, bouncy house is old and tired, etc. I’d highly recommend steering away from this place on any sunny day, as it’s a sea of black top and radiates unbearable heat. On these days they require kids to remove shoes to use the bouncy house/funhouse (understandable), but they don’t put down any runner or ground covering, which makes it practically impossible to go in and out of the attractions without literally burning the bottom of one’s feet. Only positive is staff are friendly and prices aren’t horrible. There are many other places that are more deserving of your money and children’s time.

Clean, refreshed, ready for summer fun! I was here with my granddaughters and so impressed with all of the money and care that has been poured in to make this little amusement park safe and fun. Staff were friendly, followed safety protocols, and prompt when kids needed help. As you can see safety signs are posted and enforced. The bumper cars are brand new. Everything is painted and secure. If you haven’t been back in a few years- come back. You’ll be glad you did.

Complete trash. We went shortly after they opened and the little play area was trashed with play food everywhere. The other rooms were completely empty with chairs just thrown everywhere. It’s obvious not one employee picks up ever. Nor do they care. Garbage everywhere. When I asked for a partial refund the employee (Ayasia … something like that) she was so rude, called me a liar, called her manager and completely misrepresented what I had said to her , told me to just leave in front of my family and other young children. Emailed corporate and their response was disgusting. They take no responsibility for anything. The experience is not what is advertised. Just a trashy place, trashy employees, trashy company in general. I didn’t take photos of everything but as you can see just completely pathetic. The one and only job of this place is to provide a fun environment for children and they failed. As you can see by the other reviews I’m not alone.
Andrina F — Google review
I recently took my kids to Billy Beez, spending a couple hundred dollars for what I expected to be a safe and fun experience. While the kids enjoyed the play area, I left feeling disappointed and concerned. First off, there was no security at the entrance the gate was wide open, and kids could run in and out freely. That’s a serious safety issue, and for the amount of money they charge, you’d think they’d prioritize security. It’s unsettling to know that any child could wander off or that someone could walk in unnoticed. On top of that, several pieces of equipment were broken, making parts of the play area unusable. Instead of focusing only on profits, maybe they should invest some of that money into fixing or replacing broken equipment to ensure a safe environment. And don’t get me started on the food policy, no outside food or drinks are allowed, which would be fine if the food they served was decent. Instead, we got burnt pizza that wasn’t even worth eating. For the price, I expected much better. At the end of the day, my kids had fun, but as a parent, I was disappointed. If they want to continue charging premium prices, they need to step up and improve security, maintain their equipment, and serve better food. Fun for kids, but safety concerns, broken equipment, and bad food make it hard to recommend!

This place is absolutely disgusting and unclean. $30 for myself and my 2 year old for filth. I told the staff it was dirty and they began to take pictures. You can look at mine as well. Do yourself a favor and not go here. Go to Littles Play & Cafe if you have children under 8. The place is spotless and cleaned throughly throughout the day. I thought it was $17 to come here. Had I known it was the same price, we would've went there. I'm pissed.

If I could leave no stars I would. It was extremely dirty, everything from the floors to all the climbing equipment. There was old baby puke on the mat in the climbing area. Everything was sticky. It just opened and the bathrooms were extremely dirty. For a place to be open for children, it should have better cleaning standards. I just can’t get over how dirty everything was, extremely disappointed. The employees were late at opening and as always very rude. No one is around to even to talk to about cleaning something up. My 4 year old has been picking up trash since we walked in. Who ever the owner is of this establishment should really take a moment and to look at what they are offering for the community. You can tell it’s just about the income and not actually offing a fun and enjoyable space for children and families.
Mitch D — Google review
My kid had a blast here. If you're trying to burn some kid energy off, they got to climb an obstacle course to get to the slides. I think you could easily burn 90 minutes to 2 hours with them trying out all the slides and running around.

Went on a weekday so of course a lot more service for us. We ended up doing the eating play package which gets you an hour and a half bowling, shoes for up to six people, a pizza, and a picture of whatever drink you want (non alcoholic that is) booo lol. They give you a server at your lane for bowling. We chose candlepin bowling since we had younger kids they could easily get the ball down the lane. Food is decent kind of what to expect from your typical bowling alley as far as pizza. They do have a giant pretzel for $20 but charge extra for the cheese dip, Don't be cheap like me get the dang cheese dip I'm sure it makes the pretzel taste way better. Wristbands were available for the kiddos $20 got us two of them not sure if it was a special or not and they had 50 points each on them which is about six games. Overall good experience again we went on a weekday at about 5:00 so there wasn't many people there in general.

Some of our guests were running late, which affected timing of activities a little bit so to help keep impatient boys busy, our party hosts let them take a ride on bumper cars. Then when our group wasn’t quite done with bowling, we were not rushed away. Lili made sure they had the time to at least bowl one round completely. All the kids had a great time, as well as the adults that hung around too. Thanks for making it an enjoyable and stress free event! Would highly recommend.

Always a great experience when we come to Apex entertainment and Crossgates mall. Kayla and Melissa were really accommodating this time around. We highly recommend.

Lots of the machines were malfunctioning when we got there. When we pay to play, machines would not dispense the appropriate balls to each player. On our second play, the machine did not dispense any balls at all. We reported the issue to staff and they were looking at us as if we had three heads. Will absolutely not go back there.

Lori and Ava were amazing at the Crossgate Mall location, however Cassidy was less than hospitable. I was the only one at the bar with a group of 11 at 7:30pm and she was doing closing/restock duties instead of making my drink. It took me 15 minutes as one of 3 at the bar to get my drink and when the rest of my group came over she became flustered and after I finally got my drink the rest of my group were given attitude and apathy and told that they had to wait because her bar was full even though it was due to her negligence that it happened. My friends weren’t drinking and just wanted a pitcher of water, which she did not make for them and we had to ask Lori after waiting 30 minutes. I had to ask for 15 extra minutes on our game simply because with Cassidy manning the bar we could only get through two frames of our game and were down to 33 minutes, and Ava was very understanding of the situation and was happy to help. Lori finally made my group’s drinks rather quickly and our group night out finally got back on track, though Cassidy seemed to have felt inconvenienced that she had any customers. I went to Lori to make my drinks for the rest of the night simply because her attitude and hospitality was leagues above what her partner was offering. I’m really hoping it was just a bad night for Cassidy because if this is her baseline, this is not the career for her.

If you're looking for a fun-filled day, Get Air Trampoline Park at Crossgates Mall is the perfect destination! This indoor trampoline park offers an exhilarating experience for all ages. Families rave about the friendly and attentive staff who go above and beyond to ensure everyone has a great time. For instance, Ryleigh and Aanasia made one visitor's trip unforgettable with their warm greetings and helpfulness.
I bring my granddaughter (2 years old) here for toddler time a couple times per week and out of all the activities we do this is the one she enjoys the most. The extras that the staff does are awesome. They dress in costumes based on the theme of the week and put out snacks and activities on those special days. The theme this week was dinosaurs and Dre and an other employee dressed as dinosaurs and my granddaughter talked about it all week. She told everyone “the dinosaur danced and played with me, we played tag and hide and seek “. Awesome job by Dre and team.

Usually go during the day and have a great time. We decided to go to club air and was really disappointed. Place was so dirty broken things that you couldn’t use. I also thought club air would be dance music but was wrong lol wasn’t worth the money
Baxter-Smith T — Google review
I haven’t been here in a while but took the kiddos today as part of a last hurrah before school break ends. Spent 170$ for admission and socks for 5 people. EXTREMELY over priced for the condition that place is in. Parts were missing, there was duct tape holding other things together. Slides were closed with wet floor signs. There was 0 employees out on the floor making sure the little kids weren’t being trampled by the older kids. The dodge ball area was decent but one kid kept launching the balls at all of the other kids as hard as he could and I could not find a single person to tell them to get him to stop. Everything was dirty and half of the stuff was falling apart. The foam bricks you jump into were literally disintegrating. Will not go back. Save your money and go to Urban Air it’s literally across the street
Danielle G — Google review
Aanasia was our host. Everything went like clockwork. Very clean and party area was set up ahead of time. The only thing I would have liked was an email before the party. I got a confirmation email when I booked but there wasn't any other confirmation after that. The location and everything there was great, I just prefer more communication up to the day of the event.
Jayme B — Google review
Went to get air on Thursday and was shocked at the condition and disrepair of the facility. Everything was unraveling, falling apart, duct taped, dirty and overall really unsafe. Also only 1 staff working the entire place. It's too bad because a few years ago it was a great place to go. I am not returning with my kids unless the park has everything replaced. Very unsafe
Amanda J — Google review
Whenever my son and I get free time we try and make it over to get air in crossgates mall. We always have the best time and it is always clean and the staff is always nice and ready to help. We have never had a bad time jumping at this park. Would recommend to anyone wanting to have a blast with there kids

This was our first time at Get Air! And it was for my son’s 5th birthday party. The front desk staff gave me the wrong party area upstairs but it was quickly remedied. The kids had a great time and our party assistant, Aanasia, was wonderful! She was a big help and very friendly. I didn’t enjoy how close the party tables were as the group next to us continuously spilled over into my area and prior to leaving they took a piece of pizza out of my leftover box and ate it. It may be beneficial to install rolling barriers of some type between the tables to cut down on this although I’m hoping other parties attendants are normally more respectful than these folks were.

My grandson had a not so good experience ! While in the dodge ball area ... mind you no staff ... Much older kids were in there and throwing really hard and hitting my 7 yr old grandson in his face with the balls. Also one of the older boys said something horrible to my 11 yr old grandson. Advised staff as soon as My grandson told me what happened. He was afraid to tell me . My advice to all Parents Stay with your child at all times while at the facility . Signed.. A very concerned Grandmother

Hiking area
The Albany County Helderberg-Hudson Rail Trail is a delightful escape for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike, stretching nine miles between Albany and Voorheesville. This paved, flat trail is perfect for families, including those with strollers, making it accessible to everyone. Following the path of an old railroad line, the trail offers scenic views along the way, particularly near a charming creek close to Albany.
What a nice place to walk, run, hike, bike, skate...! The path runs along a moving waterway with beautiful scenery. There are hiking paths cut off the main path, one being the Noonan Trail.

Very varried experience. Wonder the paved path through industrial sites as motized bikes worl past with the sounds of heavy traffic overhead and the beauty of waterfalls below. There were a lot of people, dogs, who greeted us with cheer. My dog and I had a nice walk but very different than our norm.

Beautiful bike ride! Trail is a nice flat paved path and has many little site seeing pull offs, benches, and trails. If you get past the 2.0mi mark there is a breakfast place off on the right. Definitely going to try it next time. If you don't have a bike, there is rentable bikes you can rent for $5 for an hr.
Dillon D — Google review
Excellent trail for bike, run or walk, all paved with scenery all the way.
Luis P — Google review
Very nice place for a bike ride. Trail goes from the southside of Albany to Voorheesville. Nine miles one way; 18 miles round trip. Trail is very smooth and mostly flat. There are some nice scenic views from the trail as well. Creek near Albany, is probably the best. Mileage is marked along the trail. I would say it is easier to park closer to Voorheesville as there were more parking lots for the trail at that end.
Ryan M — Google review
This trail was the reset that I needed. I was looking for an easy walk and some type of body of water that was safe to exercise on. There are plenty of people around and the rapids was a pleasant surprise. Small evolving parking lot.

Riverfront Park in Albany is a vibrant and lively destination, especially during the free Summer Concert Series called Alive at Five. The park offers a scenic trail that wraps around its perimeter, featuring a softball and flag football field on one side and a playground, picnic tables, and a gazebo on the other. Recent improvements include the addition of restrooms for visitors' convenience. Families with young children can enjoy the sprinklers while taking in the well-maintained surroundings.
This park is under busy bridge. It's not a tranquil place. But the playgrounds and restrooms are very well maintained. Good view of the river, RSS Slate, and Albany city view.

My grandson loves it. Lots of different things to climb. 3-4 different height slides. Swings both sm. and big. The whole playground is cushioned for falls which is a plus. Don't wear heels.

Live music venue
Nestled at 351 Hudson Ave in Albany, Lark Hall stands out as a vibrant entertainment venue that seamlessly combines the charm of a bar with the excitement of live performances. Unlike typical bars that merely host bands, Lark Hall is designed specifically for entertainment, making it an ideal spot for music lovers. The atmosphere here is unique and inviting, with its old pressed tin ceilings and spacious dance floor creating an ambiance that's perfect for both intimate gatherings and lively nights out.
I was Searching for the Sound of the Days Between while visiting Albany and I found this wonderful bar, The Eleven, filled with members of my tribe and future friends. Food was great, beer was hoppy, and I left happy and humming a tune.
BlueSpoonFarm — Google review
Such an awesome venue. We saw the Ominous Seapods. The acoustics and lighting are first rate. The band was excellent playing a variety of styles with awesome guitar and piano solos and amazing vocals. Dancing, swaying and standing as well as benches around the hall for sitting. The venue includes an elevator as it's on the second floor. First floor is a bar/restaurant/pool table/ music venue called The Eleven. We will definitely be returning. Looking forward to more shows there in the future.

Perfect mid sized venue to see local acts in and around the Capitol region and artists from surrounding states. Great space, friendly staff and stellar music community atmosphere.
Jess M — Google review
Nice, convenient venue. Quick access to bar and bathrooms. Park at the church for $6 or on a side street. Air conditioner was a little loud during quiet parts of songs, and people getting up to get drinks, the cracking open of cans, or use the bathroom during very quiet performances can be distracting but that is not the fault of the venue.

This vibrant art studio also hosts a range of classes that cater to all skill levels—from watercolor techniques to pottery sessions—making it the perfect spot for a fun date or creative outing.
A wonderful space to explore art! Karen is a great coach and teacher. Ive taken many classes and just can’t get enough of the inspiration and encouragement. Highly recommend!

Not only do I love the classes here but now I have a wonderful place to shop for beautiful hand made artisan gifts. I've bought gorgeous scarves, baby onesie and beautiful pottery all at very reasonable prices. Great place to buy your gifts !

Best place to take art classes in the area. I've taken classes in various good places but especially love the atmosphere and teachers in the Art Room. I have loved my pottery , mosaic making painting and abstract mixed media classes. Perfect combination of skillful teaching and relaxed supportive atmosphere
Deborah B — Google review
Great place to explore art with added bonus of encouraging the artist within. Have enjoyed taking classes.
Maureen L — Google review
We used to love this place. We've been customers (family w/several artsy kiddos) for more than 5 years. It's so disappointing that they've decided to enforce an arbitrary vaccine mandate. Which vaccines?! Flu? Covid? Unfortunately "Masking and proof of vaccination required" means we've taken our business elsewhere.
Melissa — Google review
I've seen friends take classes here (pottery) for a while and they've loved the classes! I am a local art teacher and started teaching art at a school that had not had visual art in the curriculum for several years. As a result, there weren't that many supplies and I was struggling with figuring out what I could do with a small budget. I posted, asking for help to the Albany community on the Albany Buy Nothing Group (on Facebook) that I am a part of. Karen graciously donated a LOT of art supplies to my art classroom!! I was blown away by her generosity. I packed up my car and she gave me things that weren't in use anymore and have come in handy in my classroom such as collage material, scrap fabric, tons of containers for paint water, crayons, and pencils, tempera paint, lots and lots of paper, and different odds and ends that you'd find around an art classroom. When I started my job, because of so many years without art, I walked into basically an empty classroom! It was so daunting, and Karen was so kind to me. The Albany Art Room really helped me hit the ground running for when the school year started. She donated crayons, aprons, and easels too! It really is so wonderful to make a connection with another artist and educator in the Albany area, and I think fondly of The Albany Art Room and Karen almost every few days when I use something in my classroom that she's given me. I am planning on taking some pottery classes at The Albany Art Room for fun, because I haven't been a student in an art class in a while. I am so excited to learn more about this space, the people, the classes, and the community it offers.
Theresa M — Google review
The Art Room is a great place for both kids and adults to explore their creativity. They offer classes, open studio hours, and do parties. If you're interested in pottery, wheels and everything you need can be found right there. Art supplies are also available for purchase.

I absolutely love this place! The building for one has the ambiance of an artist dream. It's incredibly inspiring! They offer many types of artistry for adults and kids there. Morningside Gallery is a treasure trove for art lovers, showcasing an impressive array of original works from various artists who utilize both traditional and contemporary techniques. With over 30 years in the business, this gallery has built a reputation for quality custom framing services. Visitors rave about the welcoming atmosphere created by Patrice and Paul, who guide clients through an extensive selection of matting and framing options tailored to each unique piece.
I came to Morningside Gallery for my first custom framing of a rug after getting a crazy estimate from michaels. They were fantastic from helping to choose the frame, their reasonable pricing, to the time required for completion, and I couldn't be happier with the final product. I really recommend stopping by here instead of michaels!
Danielle M — Google review
Fantastic shop! Patrice was wonderful and helped me find a quality frame for a good price. Welcoming environment and great communication too. My favorite framer in the capital region!

I've had all of my custom framing (almost 20 pieces) done at Morningside Gallery. Patrice and Paul are welcoming, friendly, and patient while helping you explore different frame and mat options. The work I've had framed includes small, colorful artworks, multi-piece frames, black and white pieces, photo prints, magazine cuttings, and large puzzles. Every piece has turned out beautiful and unique, and I can't recommend this business enough. Thank you Morningside Gallery!

Love Morningside Gallery!! Paul and Patrice are wonderful people and their gallery is so enjoyable — be it to get a special piece of artwork framed or to peruse the artwork in the gallery. Patrice was very helpful to me in picking out just the right frame and look for my artwork. The final product is beautiful and the framing so well done. I highly recommend Morningside. I have had many pieces framed there and have never been disappointed.

I've brought 4 prints to be matted & framed to Morningside Gallery. The company i bought the prints from said to use acid & lignin free products. Morningsides website states that they use acid & lignin free products. Plus that they have been in business for over 30 yrs. Was a no brainer to go there & have them do the work. Patrice went over the options of the various materials used. Paul then did his thing & they came out awesome. I'd recommend them to those who want stuff done right.
Scott G — Google review
Paul and Patrice did an outstanding job mounting and framing our art work. We could not have asked for more!

The prints turned out beautiful! I would highly recommend this local business for its quality work and customer service.
