Jasper Pizza Place, known as JPP by locals, is a casual dining spot offering wood-fired thick-crust pizzas, wings, pasta, and other mains. The restaurant's rooftop patio is a popular feature among visitors. One of their standout dishes is the Canadian poutine with an Indian twist called Rogan Josh, featuring crispy shoestring fries, mozzarella cheese, squeaky curds, and cilantro.
Very nice, friendly staff. I enjoyed the pizza, had the thin version with a nice fluffy crust. The pizza was tasty, topping wise it could have been a bit more generous, other than that just a really good pizza, nice place with a great beer selection. When it gets crowded, it can be a bit loud. Overall, I would recommend coming here when staying in Jasper.

Tried 3 different types of Woodfired pizzas but they were all average. We get much better and yummier wood fired pizzas in California so may be not the same . Their patio looked great for such a small place like Jasper but the blinds were down because of the rain , when we went . And yes , they didn’t attend us for a long time until we asked them to take the order , they apologized for that however. Seeing the great reviews ,we thought our experience would be the same , or is it hit or miss ?

After a long day of hiking we decided to do takeout pizza. A popular place in town it's always busy during peak dinner time. We tried their traditional baked pizza *the Sicilian* ham, sausage, yellow hot peppers and cheese. *The Athabasca* gourmet thin crust consists of black olives, artichokes and cheese. Both pizzas were delicious! No complains!

Haven’t been here in years, and it seems like there may be new owners because the food felt different this time around. The pizza itself was quality, and I really liked that they offered two options: pan or wood oven. The fries were tasty and seasoned just right. I also appreciated the great selection of dips to go along with the meal. ($2.50) per dip. The roof top patio was lovely! One fun surprise was their awesome t-shirts definitely a cool touch that stood out. The staff were very nice and accommodating, which made the experience pleasant overall.
Calista W — Google review
Great dining experience in this place. Was surprised by their meat ball pizza. It’s very pricy for a pizza ($28) but seems it’s expensive to eat everywhere in Jasper! Draft beer is fresh and server made very good recommendations.
L L — Google review
Came here for the rooftop patio on recommendation from a tour guide and we were not disappointed! We had Bri as our server and she was super lovely and gave us great service. The pizzas were amazing and the beers so refreshing on a hot summer day. Rooftop patio gave us a great view of the town and mountains as well!

Absolutely beautiful views - cold beer and great pizza. Patio is lovely. Service was great as well. Helpful servers that gave us advice on the area.

Famoso Italian Pizzeria in Jasper National Park is a cozy spot offering authentic Neapolitan pizzas, pasta, and sandwiches along with a selection of beer and cocktails. The pizzeria prides itself on its fire-roasted Neapolitan-style pizzas made in a traditional bell oven. From classic margherita to unique combinations like cavoletti and prosciutto with arugula, there's something for every pizza lover.
From the moment we walked in we were greeted with a smile! We chose to sit at the bar so we could watch the Calgary stampede on the television. The bartender was also the manager and the service was outstanding. The pizza was cooked perfectly with abundant high quality toppings and extremely flavorful with the Campania tomato sauce! We have been to Italy and traveled around the US so we know good pizza and this was one of the best we have had! Highly recommend Famoso if you are in Jasper and looking for a great dinner! Also good selection of wine and beer!

We chose Famoso based on reviews and it didn’t disappoint. Great overall experience! Dustin, our server was wonderful. Not only attentive but also made some park/hike recommendations. The meatball and prosciutto wrapped mozzarella appetizers were wonderful as was the pizza.

We came here the other night. The setting was very nice and casual. Ambience was great and music was at the appropriate volume to conversation. Service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and food came out quickly. Serving sizes are very generous. My mother in law and I had Margherita pizza. My wife had the tomato bisque. The pizza was in my opinion, phenomenal. The crust was perfectly cooked. The sauce, cheese and spices were perfection. Just like I have even in Italy on vacation. Let’s just say, my mother in law and I love their pizza so much we picked up more pizzas for takeout the next evening. The owner is very knowledgeable and friendly. Staff were very helpful and cheerful. I’d definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone who likes pizza just like it’s done in Italy (Naples to be precise, home of the first Margherita pizza). If I discovered this place sooner it would have been 3 days in a row, eating here. Highly recommended!

Delicious pizza! Would highly recommend a visit! We came during happy hour (2pm to 5pm) and enjoyed cheap drinks before ordering pizza. Service was very friendly and quick. If we were spending more time in Jasper I would definitely come back here as the food was great !
Nathanael L — Google review
Stopped in for a bite and was not disappointed! I ordered the 12-inch “make your own” meat pizza — thin crust, perfectly crisp, and somehow light enough that I polished off the whole thing in one sitting (no regrets). My wife went with the fettuccine Alfredo and absolutely loved it — creamy, rich, and cooked just right. Great atmosphere, quick service, and a solid choice if you're craving Italian while in Jasper.
Chris — Google review
I always enjoy Famoso pizza and today was no exception. Service was excellent. They even gave us a free pizza. 😁
Drew W — Google review
Delicious pizzas, beer and cocktails - who could ask for more? The service was great too - attentive, polite and friendly.
Mrs B — Google review
I recently visited this restaurant for lunch. The food itself was tasty and enjoyable, and overall service was decent. However, I did notice an important hygiene issue. After clearing dishes with leftovers, the server immediately prepared and served us drinks without washing or sanitizing their hands. This is something the management really needs to pay attention to, as hygiene is just as important as good food. If they improve on this aspect, the overall dining experience would be much better.

We haven't been to Evil Dave's Grill since they moved to this location, and since we were staying at the Marmot Lodge, we figured it was a great opportunity to have dinner at Evil Dave's with our children. I made a reservation through their website and I'm sure glad I did as the restaurant was full upon our arrival. People without reservations were either being turned away or having to wait, but it seemed as though most had made reservations. Our server was very helpful and offered some great suggestions. Our children both decided on the Hurtin' Alberta kids meal and they greatly enjoyed it, saying that the burger was better than the ones I make at home (how dare they 😆). They had some other great options for kids as well. The Little Buddha was their second choice. My wife chose the Karma Curry with chicken and naan bread, and it was easily the best dish that was ordered. It was very flavourful and filling, and I honestly wish I had ordered it myself. I ended up going with the Chef's Cut steak with daily vegetables which was perfectly cooked. Even though it was delicious with a peppercorn sauce that complimented the entire dish, I think I would've enjoyed the Karma Curry a bit more. We finished our meal by sharing their Chocolate Cake and ice cream. It definitely wasn't a cheap dinner for the family, but it was delicious and memorable. We'd definitely return again in the future.

Really enjoyed the menu here. I had the bison meatloaf and it was very good. Good service and comfortable environment. Would go again.
David B — Google review
Food pretty great. Drinks not so much. Had a 'Cool Brew' cocktail (an espresso martini in all but name) that was the worst I've ever had. Their Instagram shows a better version than I was served, I think possibly the bartender's first day. For a place that boasts high quality cocktails, it was hilariously bad. See pic. Watched the bartender make it, he doesn't appear to understand how to shake a cocktail. Beer selection was also a lone hefeweizen. We were put on a table basically beside another large group, and seated after a couple who had a reservation a half hour after us, who got a much nicer table. Just felt like it was everybody's first day in hospitality. Everything except the food which I genuinely can't fault. My awkward order was accommodated perfectly. The chefs deserve a better everything else.

Evil Dave’s Grill – A Jasper Gem That Misses the Mark on Flavor The name Evil Dave’s Grill sets high expectations, and walking in, I was impressed. The decor is beautiful and captures the essence of Jasper perfectly—cozy, stylish, and inviting. The service matched the atmosphere: friendly, attentive, and efficient throughout the meal. Unfortunately, that’s where the praise ends. The food was a major letdown. Despite a menu that sounded promising, what arrived at the table was bland, uninspired, and lacked any real depth of flavor. It genuinely felt as if some of the dishes came straight from a can—overpriced and underwhelming. For the cost, I expected much more. Jasper isn’t short on great dining options, and sadly, Evil Dave’s didn’t deliver where it matters most: the food. With a bit more attention to flavor and creativity in the kitchen, this place could live up to its potential. Until then, it’s style over substance.
Yeshwani R — Google review
Very nice food, great service I went for the typhoon noodles with prawns and had the vicious hippies pan fried gyoza, lovely flavour throughout the noodles had a lovely background heat to them in a delicious sauce, the gyoza had a nice subtle gingery taste, id say slightly on the pricey side for what it is but can't fault the food as it was delicious and the service was impeccable.
Richard M — Google review
I would absolutely come back to eat here. They were decent to deal with, however, here are my qualms… I booked for a large group of people (25+) and they gave me a menu of select items, and prices. As soon as they found out it was for a wedding, the price on each item increased by 1$-5$. I was also disappointed that despite paying additional for dinner, there was no thank you or complimentary glass of champagne for myself or my husband. Two of our family members thought that was rather odd and quite unfortunate as we got married that day and chose to celebrate at evil Dave’s. Excellent food. Subpar service.
Taylee C — Google review
A huge thank you to the entire team at Evil Dave’s Grill! Not only was the food amazing — the burger was super tasty and not greasy at all, and the bowl was absolutely delicious — but the service was outstanding. Everything was super fast, and our waiter was genuinely attentive, professional, and truly interested in his guests. And now for the most incredible part… I lost my passport during my visit to Jasper and accidentally left it at the restaurant. Thanks to their honesty and kindness, they found it, reached out to me, and even arranged for express shipping to my hotel in Vancouver — I honestly wouldn’t have been able to return to my country without their help. I have no words to express how grateful I am. Wonderful people, amazing food, and truly exceptional service. Highly, highly recommended. Sandy

Our yogurt fruit granola parfait was very good. So was a their brisket sandwich. Their menu is limited. The indoor dining area has high ceilings, cozy, comfortable and varying types of chairs and set-ups. Outdoor on the deck are picnic tables with umbrellas and the sound of flowing water.

Came here for lunch after exploring the canyon and got seated on the patio, beautiful scenery while we enjoyed some good food. We ordered the wings and pulled pork. Both was delicious and nice presentation. Drinks were nice and cold. Service was fast and got seated right away (Roughly 1:30-2:00 pm seating). Came here for lunch after exploring the canyon and what a beautiful place to enjoy the scenery and some good food. Sandwiches and burgers were great, I loved the fries! Our server raved about the mac ‘n cheese so a few of us upgraded to it but personally found that it was just okay.

Wonderful restaurant with a great view. It took a while for our food to arrive, so we had plenty of time to souvenir shop and enjoyed the view. They did have the buffet line for quick eat, but we wanted something more and the dishes we ordered were pleasantly tasty and beautifully plated.

We ate here after hiking in the canyons. The space is very comfortable. We stayed in the patio & enjoyed the view. We ordered burgers for a quick meal - pulled pork burgers, beef brisket & bison burger. Everything was so tasty with the fries, coleslaw & especially the bison burger!

Our visit to Maligne Canyon Wilderness Kitchen was one of my favorite lunches on our BC & Alberta roadtrip mid-September. Service here was very efficient and friendly (even though it was pretty busy) and I liked that everything appeared well organized. The food was delicious; we had two sandwiches, one with soup and one with salad, everything was fresh, tasty and came out fast. We also had a drink which was very good. The views are very nice as well, especially if you catch a clear day. Don’t forget to check out Maligne Canyon while you’re here - it’s truly spectacular and beautiful!
Maria N — Google review
Wow!! This was one of the most delicious meals we’ve had. Location/food/drinks/service/price all 5/5. If there’s a way to give this place 6/5, I would. We went on a weekday in July and sat on the patio - this is a late review. The outdoor environment is serene as you’re overlooking the Maligne Canyon trails. The indoor seating is cozy, modern and subtle. We tried a large variety of cocktails dishes, everything was well-executed, balanced yet complex. From the cocktail menu, I’d recommend the Rumpert’s Campfire! This whisky based drink is transformed with bitters, roasted marshmallows, and infused in a smoky wood plate. We each had a second round after quickly gulping down the first. Other favorites include the Prickly Bear and Observation Peak. On the food menu, I really enjoyed Bison Tartare, Brisket, and the Bison Striploin. My only regret is only having a day in Jasper, otherwise I’d be back for brunch and dinner a second time! Hopefully we’ll be able to get out there and excited to see what new cocktails and dishes land on their menu.

Bear's Paw Bakery is a cozy spot in Jasper, offering a warm atmosphere with wood paneling and serving up delicious house-baked pastries, breakfast items, and coffee. It's a local favorite and popular among visitors as well. The bakery offers an array of freshly baked goods including muffins, cookies, cakes, artisanal breads, sandwiches, and wraps. While it has limited seating inside, it's worth stopping by for a delightful breakfast or lunch experience.
Bear’s Paw Bakery is hands down one of my favorite spots in Jasper. I have been coming for years and it’s definitely a family favourite. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with the comforting aroma of freshly baked goods and rich coffee — it’s the kind of place that immediately feels warm and welcoming. The location is perfect, right in town and easy to find whether you’re a local or just passing through on your Rockies adventure. The space itself has a cozy, inviting atmosphere that makes it ideal for grabbing a morning coffee, a quick bite, or even just relaxing for a few minutes with something sweet. It’s clear that everything is made fresh daily — from the flaky croissants and buttery scones to the hearty breakfast sandwiches and mouthwatering desserts. The coffee is excellent every time — rich, smooth, and brewed just right. Whether you’re a fan of a classic drip, espresso, or something more indulgent, they’ve got you covered. The staff are always upbeat, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. Even during busy hours, they’re efficient and kind, creating a positive experience every single time. It’s rare to find a place that nails great food, coffee, service, and atmosphere all in one — but Bear’s Paw Bakery does just that. If you’re in Jasper, this place is a must-visit. I can’t recommend it enough!

We came on a Friday morning at around 10am. There was a line of people, but the line goes pretty fast. They have a microwave inside to heat up pastries if you choose. We saw a sign to order online and pick up at their outside window, so we did that. We got a cinnamon bun, a maple pecan Danish, and a garlic cheese stick (no picture because we finished before taking a picture). All of them were very good, not too sweet. The Danish texture is less flaky and feels more like a biscuit? But still good. Not a lot of maple on it, just a touch of sweetness.
J L — Google review
This bakery is a Jasper gem. The baked goods are delicious with a variety of coffees and teas. I did feel a bit rushed as there were so many customers and the staff was trying to move people along, I couldn’t see the selection behind other people until someone moved and then I didn’t have a chance to order it. Despite this, excellent baked goods, lovely little shop.
Sherry D — Google review
This review is based on a single visit. This is apparently a very popular bakery in Jasper. While we were there, we learned that this bakery has loyal local customers, visitors returning for more treats, and first timers (like us) who had heard of the deliciousness created here. At noon on a summer Sunday, the bakery was full of customers. All the tables and counter space were occupied with visitors, sipping their drinks and having pastries. The line was almost out the door. We don't know if this is normal, but for us this is how it was. There were plenty of young and friendly staff to handle the workload. Everyone was hustling about, filling orders and making sure that the customers were taken care of well. We did not wait in line long before we placed our orders. We got a couple of pastries and regular drip coffees. The pastries were OK. We suspected the pastries would have been better right out of the oven, but that's more of a timing thing than a quality thing. The medium and dark coffees we had were excellent. Excellent. We neglected to take note of the name of the coffee we had. However, we believe they were local to the area. The seating area inside the bakery was full. There were small tables and counter space for customers. There's also some seating outside, but not very much. For the bakery, that's a great problem to have, a bakery full of customers. For customers, however, it could be a problem if you wanted to have a place to sit and enjoy the pastries. We took ours out to the parking lot across the street and eight off the bed of our truck. We're used to it, and to be honest, we preferred it. The parking lot across the street from the bakery is more than enough to handle the customers that visit. If not, there's street parking available. However, everything is "paid parking" so keep that in mind.

We tried a few things here but the clear and undeniable winner is their STICKY CINNAMON BUN. You'd think you'd miss the creamy frosting of a cinnamon role, but this beast when warm is just a gooey caramelly masterpiece. The other pastries we tried leaned towards dry but no issue with the sticky bun. VERY popular spot in town so expect to wait in line 15 minutes or so, or I gathered you could order online for pickup outside quicker.
Nicholas K — Google review
Gets very busy in the mornings because it’s a very small space, but this is a nostalgic place for my family and I so we don’t mind! Used to live here about 2 decades ago, and the baked goods are a bit dry (depending on what you get), but generally are as good as I remember. the variety is great, and the service is very efficient! Only unfortunate thing was that their drinks just taste like milk. We had a chai and London fog, and both just tasted like steamed milk with a very very faint flavour. The addition of the chocolate on top is always nice though!

We went to this café right after breakfast, around 10 to 10:30 in the morning. Unfortunately, by the time we got there most of the breakfast sandwiches were already sold out. They only had one left, which we ordered. It was actually really good — fresh bread, good flavor, and you could tell their bread and pastries are baked in-house. We also tried a pastry that was rolled in caramel, and it was delicious. The café had a microwave too, so you could warm up your pastry if you wanted, which I thought was a nice touch. I especially liked the caramel and cinnamon combo, and overall, all the baked goods we tried were fresh and tasty. The only real disappointment was the muffin. There were four of us, and none of us liked it. It was very dense, kind of dry, and just didn’t have good flavor. I’m not sure if it was an off recipe or maybe just not fresh, but it was definitely the weakest item we tried. The coffee was fine, nothing special, but totally acceptable. The café itself had a nice atmosphere, and the baristas were great. They were attentive and friendly. The only thing that felt off was the cashier, who seemed to be rushing through orders a bit too much. It made the interaction feel a little uncomfortable. Overall though, still a good spot.

I recently visited Bear Paw Café in Jasper Downtown, and it was such a happy experience! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and they offer a wonderful variety of food and coffee. Everything we tried was fresh and delicious. Highly recommend trying their pizza pretzels and croissants—both were absolutely amazing! With great options, friendly vibes, and quality food, this café is definitely a must-visit in Jasper.

The restaurant features a Sunday brunch with a rotating tapas-inspired tasting menu and recommends making reservations in advance. Diners can enjoy house-made pastas and locally sourced produce while taking in the picturesque vistas from the heated patio.
My wife and I chose Orso Trattoria to start off her birthday celebration on September 12, and it was an excellent choice. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt inviting, with a classic, elegant décor that combines traditional charm with the capacity to comfortably host both intimate meals and larger groups, such as tour parties. We were warmly welcomed by our server, Rodelita, whose service truly stood out. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and made thoughtful suggestions to ensure we had the best start to our day. With her guidance, we decided on the breakfast buffet, which turned out to be a highlight of our visit. The buffet offered an impressive variety of fresh, high-quality dishes — far too many to list in full. I especially enjoyed the bacon and cheese eggs, which were perfectly prepared, while my wife sampled several other options and was equally delighted. Everything we tried was flavorful, beautifully presented, and made with care. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience that made my wife’s birthday morning even more special. Between the excellent food, warm service, and welcoming atmosphere, Orso Trattoria is well worth a visit whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for a memorable breakfast in Jasper.

We had breakfast at Orso Trattoria and really enjoyed it! The Salmon & Avocado Toast was fresh and flavorful, and the Omelet (we picked goat cheese, bell pepper, and mushroom) was spot on — filling but not too heavy. We also loved the Beauvert green juice and a strong cappuccino to kick off the morning. Everything tasted great and felt healthy, but heads up: the potato wedges that came with both dishes were super salty. Wish there was an option to swap them for fruit or veggies instead. The ambiance is relaxed and upscale with a beautiful view, and the staff were friendly and quick to seat us. It’s definitely on the pricier side, but hey — it’s a resort, and it kind of comes with the territory. Would definitely go back (and maybe just skip the potatoes next time).

Everything about this restaurant is exceptional and exudes high-class quality—from the complimentary treats at the beginning to the outstanding service throughout. Our servers, Cristine and Emma, were both courteous and attentive, offering excellent recommendations that led us to some truly delicious dishes. The panoramic view added another unforgettable element to the experience. I highly recommend this place to all my friends. Absolutely loved it.

We were staying at the lodge as part of a Rocky Mountaineer Raily tour. We had breakfast in the morning, and this was our first (and only) dinner hear. The dinner room looks out over Lake Beauvert which is stunning. We had reservations for 4, and were seated right away. It took a while for our server to get to our table, greet us, and get serve waters. Our server was professional and efficient, but definitely not friendly. We had a 3 course meal as part of our package and there were plenty of interesting starters and entrees. It took some more time, before the server returned and took our orders. As a matter of fact, it took nearly 2.5 hours for the entire meal. Turns out that our server kept getting distracted in conversation by another table next to ours. He was totally oblivious to the other tables around. Our table ordered a collection of varied entrees, lamb chops (for me), a rissoto dish, scallops, and bison steak. During our wait we were served some olives and crostini with a spread, and focaccia bread. The crostinis were not fresh and tasted as if they had been sitting in a too cold refrigerator. After another wait, the food did arrive. My lamb chops were amazing. Cooked to a perfect medium rare, and the vegetable bake was good as well. The scallops got good reviews. However the Bison was undercooked, and tough. The risotto was bland and soupy. After finishing our entrees, it took 30 minutes for the server to return (chatting it up again with another table). It was getting seriously ridiculous. Asked the server to bring our desserts (which was included in our 3 courses). My Tomato and Raspberry dessert was very interesting, and good (a little chili powder in the chocolate pudding). Asked for the check for the cocktails. Mentioned to the server the long wait, and he apologized and blamed it on the busy dining room, but I felt compelled to point out his chattiness with other tables. After the rest of my party left, I hung back and asked to speak to the manager. He explained that while they have just recently opened, there was no excuse for what had happened to us. Offered to pay for our drinks (which I declined). I hope they are able to get their act together. A beautiful, upscale place like this needs to do better.

I can't recommend this spot enough. It's expensive, but so, so worth it. The lakeside view was picturesque, and the food and drinks were absolutely incredible. Our server Christina was attentive and friendly, and we left knowing we'd be back the next time we're in Jasper! No complaints!

We went to this restaurant based on reviews and the menu which included a 60 ounce, $210 Tomahawk steak. We were seated and our sever greets us politely but she is wearing a shirt/uniform soiled, with terrible underarm stains. We couldn't believe the management allowed such unkept staff in a supposed high class establishment? Next came the Tomahawk steak!! The server explained that it was bone in so it was roughly %20 bone with plenty of vegetables and potatoes. What came out was a luke warm Tomahawk of fat, grizzle, bone on a bed of uncooked kale, potatoes and cherry tomatoes. We should have sent it back immediately! Our mistake. What kills us is the appearance of fine dinning, and then you realize it's just the name/hotel/history and location that keeps it a float.

This is where you have breakfast. The service was phenomenal but the food wasn’t. I ordered poached eggs and they couldn’t get them right they kept coming out with very runny egg white and I gave up and had the buffet eggs. I was told the “eggs aren’t cooperating.”😀 The buffet was not replenished as quickly as needed and the seating was challenging as we saw empty tables but had to wait to be seated.

The atmosphere is spectacular, the team's service was exceptional. Our attendant name is Jason. The experience peaked with the dessert, a truly unique take on tiramisu .It wasn't the traditional version, perfect blend

Nestled just a scenic 10-minute bike ride from downtown Jasper, Tekarra Restaurant has been delighting diners since 1952 with its charming wood-paneled ambiance and upscale modern Canadian cuisine. This cozy cabin in the woods offers an inviting atmosphere where guests can savor gourmet dishes crafted from local ingredients like AAA Alberta beef, elk, bison, wild boar, and rainbow trout.
Fine dining in a cozy family setting. Father (owner) and daughter served us with efficient ease. The short ribs were very tasty. The serving were large - would have been happy with a half portion of the pasta.

Beautiful find in Jasper NP. Dinner, dessert, breakfast - lovely meals, cozy restaurant and very personal waiting staff. We even had an unexpected visitor to our table. Do need reservations, even if it's not busy.

Fine dining place with some unique dishes. Nice presentation of the food. The small plates in the menu are smaller than expected, not typical for Albertan restaurants.

Not sure why the restaurant didn’t take this entertainment book coupon and it was kinda of embarrassing that it was our first time that one vendor doesn’t take the coupon from entertainment book. I mean if you don’t want to give out the discount why advertise yourself in the entertainment book? We got the App from entertainment book and we showed them and they refused to give out the discount saying never seen it before and they don’t even have a code for it...Food was very delicious and high quality and service was good too. Jus a bit disappointed and embarrassed.

Ate at an outdoor table at Takarra Lodge, beautiful weather in July. Unlike previous reviews the waitresses were prompt to take our orders and the four orders came quickly. The bison short rib, trout, and chicken dinners were all excellent. Was not expecting fine dining in such a remote location but was very impressed, highly recommended.

Really dissapointed...probably the worst restaurant experience I've had in Jasper. I ordered smoked salmon sushi. I understand that it's under the small plate call him but honestly what you get is nowhere near worth the price of $17+tx+resort fee. you get 6 medallions about one centimetre thick each. All in all when you put them together it's about 1/2 to 3/4 the size of your typical hand roll and 80% of it is either rice or the deep fried panko crumb. The flavour was also nothing to write home about and came purely from the spicy mayo and a brown sauce that was drizzled on top. I would probably never order something like this again especially as it was nothing different from a grocery store hand roll that I could probably get at about half the price. The restaurant advertises itself in various Jasper magazines as a foodie Paradise what I was served today hardly fits the description.

Service was not bad but food was subpar. The skillet was not hot. Crunchy chicken burger had 1 lettuce leaf, poor presentation. The chicken was good but not worth the price. The red wine beef brisket was very lean and the mustard was cheap. The apple crumble's ingredients were all separated, not baked altogether. Water tasted weird. They did the potatoes really nice (fries, mashed potatoes, etc.), but not worth $90 Staff was friendly.

Okay food for average prices. A little expensive in comparison to similar breakfast places, but is is in Jasper. The bacon was not the greatest. Not many options for side. I tried to substitute hashbrowns for fruit, it was extra charge. Other restaurants usually sub for no charge. Coffee was alright.

The fettuccine meatballs is so sour, not recommended 😞 I just taste one bite and done. So disappointing that it’s not cheap but barely eat it. Filipino staff was nice though.

Stopped by Smitty’s in Jasper for a quick bite and was pleasantly surprised. I had the steak and eggs— a generous six-ounce steak served with eggs, white toast, and potatoes. Everything was satisfying, and the service was excellent for a casual dining spot.

Restaurant Review: Smitty’s - Jasper Name of Restaurant: Smitty's Family Restaurant Location: Jasper, Alberta Date: August 2025 Dish Ordered: Big Country Breakfast (ordered on three consecutive days) Seating: Dined inside (Outside seating is available) Cleanliness: Cleanliness at Smitty’s Jasper was consistent with what one would expect from a family-style diner. The dining area and tables were generally clean and well-maintained. On one occasion, I was served a glass with minor dishwasher residue, but this was promptly replaced without any issue. A small insect did land in my dish once, which, while not ideal, can happen in any environment and did not reflect a broader cleanliness problem. Overall, the establishment maintained a presentable and acceptable standard without any extreme concerns. Service: Service was one of the strongest aspects of my visits. I was seated immediately each day, and the staff proved both efficient and friendly. Orders were taken quickly, and drinks and food arrived impressively fast-typically under 10 minutes. Refills were offered proactively, and I rarely had to ask for anything. The staff made the dining experience smooth, attentive, and welcoming, which added significantly to the overall impression of the restaurant. Food: I ordered the Big Country Breakfast each day for three consecutive visits, which provided a reliable opportunity to gauge consistency. The portions were generous and left me full and satisfied each time. The food was cooked properly-crispy where expected and fully done without being overcooked. Seasoning was somewhat lacking, but this was easily remedied with salt and pepper provided at the table. While the flavor was not exceptional, it was solid, comforting, and consistent. Atmosphere: The atmosphere inside was calm and inviting. The restaurant was not overly busy during my visits, which contributed to a quiet and relaxing environment. The temperature was comfortable, and background music and television volumes were set appropriately-not overwhelming, yet adding to the diner’s homely feel. Seating was cozy and comfortable, creating an experience that felt both casual and welcoming. Value: In terms of value, Smitty’s delivered exactly what one would expect: a hearty, affordable meal at a fair price. The portion sizes aligned well with the cost, making the experience feel worthwhile and budget-friendly. For those seeking a substantial breakfast without overspending, this location offers good value. Other Notes: Accessibility was convenient, with the restaurant being within good walking distance. Parking is street-only, which is typical for Jasper. While it may require a short walk depending on availability, the restaurant is centrally located and within easy walking distance for most visitors. Final Ratings (out of 5) Service: 4.8 Food: 4.3 Atmosphere: 4.0 Cleanliness: 4.0 Value: 4.6 Overall Rating: 4.4/5 Conclusion: Smitty’s in Jasper provides a classic family diner experience: quick, friendly service; hearty portions; and a cozy, relaxed atmosphere. Over the course of three consecutive visits ordering the same dish, the restaurant demonstrated consistency in preparation and service. While the food itself may lean toward the average in flavor, it is reliably cooked, filling, and satisfying for the price. This is not fine dining, but it doesn’t aim to be. Instead, it succeeds at offering exactly what travelers and locals alike might want in a casual brunch spot: comfort food served efficiently in a warm, family-friendly environment. If you find yourself in Jasper and need a dependable place for breakfast or brunch, Smitty’s is well worth the stop.

Not what it used to be. I’ve visited Smitty’s Jasper a few times over the years; I won’t be making that mistake again. I ordered the 1 piece fish and chips. The fries (chips) came in a tiny bowl. I dumped them out on the plate - it amounted to 10 fries. All from frozen. The single piece of fish was also obviously from frozen. The tartar sauce was tossed on the plate in a little packet. The coleslaw was about 2 teaspoons worth also in a tiny bowl. It was watery and disgusting. My hubby ordered an overpriced burger that was dry and looked as though the patty had been thrown on the grill freezer burn and all. Servers never asked how the meals were because I’m sure they know they are serving worse than jail food at ridiculous prices. I love Jasper, but Smitty’s is not helping their post-fire recovery efforts. Do better Smitty’s management and owners. You’re doing a disservice to an amazing town.

The food was quite greasy and, for the 18 CAD I paid, it really wasn’t worth it. The staff seemed overwhelmed, and the service didn’t make up for the poor quality of the food. Overall, it was a bad experience and I wouldn’t come back.

Korean restaurant
Kimchi House is a cozy eatery in Jasper, offering traditional Korean cuisine with the option to customize the spice level. The restaurant's warm ambiance features red walls adorned with Korean art. Diners can enjoy dishes such as BBQ meats and vegetables, seafood pot stew, sizzling chicken, stir-fries, hot garlic squid, spare ribs, dumplings, and tempura.
Amazing Korean food. Tasty Kalbi (short rib) BBQ on sizzling plate. Korean Bi Bim Bab with beef served in a hot bowl. The sauce was delicious. Kim chi was a bit too spicy and probably over fermented (with alcohol smell), but edible. Anyway, the two mains made up for it. We were not expecting to find a good Korean place in Jasper.

One of the best Korean restaurants I’ve ever been to, I came with my family and friends with a total of 8 people. They had various tables which can be linked to have all 8 of us to eat at the same table but unfortunately it wasn’t done. Although the food was amazing, I’ve ordered #7 which I highly recommend. Unfortunately my other 6 of my family and friends departed with major stomachaches which is why my star has decreased to a 4/5 stars. Overall this place is amazing and the employees are well mannered.

This is a Filipino owned restaurant that serves Korean food cooked by Filipino chefs. It is not authentic and food was below mediocre. There was no wait and server just pointed to a table for us to sit. I ordered the Woo Dong which came with beef and vegetables but the beef were beef slices that were chopped into very tiny pieces which made it difficult to eat. It felt like I was eating bits and pieces of leftover meat. Broth did not taste particularly like anything… slight sweetness at best. By the end of our meal, there was only us and one other table. No servers to be found. My boyfriend had to walk to the kitchen to get someone’s attention to grab our bill. Very disappointed experience. For the price, you have better options.

We were so excited to find a Korean restaurant in Jasper, but unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. The food was not as authentic as we had hoped, and to our surprise, this was the first Korean restaurant we’ve ever been to that charged extra for side dishes (banchan). The biggest letdown, however, was the service and organization. It was clear the restaurant couldn’t handle the number of guests they were accepting. After placing our order, we waited over an hour for our food to arrive, and the dishes for our group of three were served more than 15 minutes apart. It turned into a long, frustrating dinner. The servers seemed overwhelmed, rushing around the restaurant while continuing to seat more customers even though they couldn’t keep up with the orders. To top it off, the portion sizes were very small, especially considering the prices and wait time. Overall, a very disappointing experience—we wouldn’t return.

A nice Korean restaurant to come in Jasper. The food was good enough, the atmosphere was ok, but the service quite weird. Staff were like not trained, brought the wrong dishes, wrong table. When they brought to us, they just stood still there, staring at us and waiting us to clean the table for them to put the dish on. Anyway, the food came quite fast, and the portion quite big, a little salty though.

Had dinner at Kimchi House. It was awesome to have some Korean food after eating burgers and sandwiches for a few days. The restaurant was packed at 7:30 PM on a Wednesday night but got seated in less than 10 minutes. We tried the tteokbokki and dinner for 2 that had a soup, spicy chicken bulgogi and beef bulgogi. Everything tasted amazing! Have never had broccoli and mushrooms in these dishes before and maybe it was Chefs take on the dishes but it was all delicious. We loved every bite of it and highly recommend stopping here for dinner when you are in Jasper.

This is not an authentic Korean restaurant, they don serve the side dishes like kimchi and the rice / corn tea. The soy bean paste soup Is too salty, but the Soon-Doo-Boo Jegoe is good. The Woo dong, Bul Go Gi seasoning is too sweet. Kun Mon Doo is nicely fried.

Coco's Cafe is a charming spot in Jasper known for its commitment to serving incredibly fresh coffee and espresso. The cozy space is designed to make guests feel at home, featuring calming colors, natural light fixtures, and soothing music. Additionally, the cafe bakes its own artisan bread and caters to large groups.
Excellent little cafe with seating inside and some patio space to enjoy outside during brunch. We had the breakfast wrap and the French toast, which has cream cheese in it. I prefer breakfast wraps/burritos to sweet and the wrap was quite tasty. The French toast was surprisingly lighter than I thought it would be versus dense. If you have had an asian made cake before you will understand what I mean. Price was also quite reasonable. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quick bite in a quaint spot.

Becker's Gourmet Restaurant is a hidden gem located just five minutes south of Jasper, along the picturesque Icefields Parkway. This charming eatery boasts a classic mountain ambiance, featuring warm wood and stone decor that creates an inviting atmosphere. Diners are treated to breathtaking views of Mount Kerkeslin and the Athabasca River, making every meal feel like a special occasion.
My son was pleased with his Elk Steak. So were my husband and sister with their Salmon. Our Nay liked her Minestrone soup. My red bean soup was delicious, especially with the multi-colored crunches; however, I wish it’s not as thick. It was filling so I didn’t need my Lobster Cake appetizers. There’s lobster taste in it and the slight crunch was good but its flavor was dominated by other ingredients. Mr. Zach is a likable conversationalist😊. He recommended Pyramid Lake where there is a walking bridge to an island for a better view of the Pyramid mountain! I like the light stained wood ceilings and walls of this restaurant. The chalets look inviting to stay at🤩. The view is as beautiful. They also have Adirondack chairs on the grass along the side facing the river and mountains.

The hiker salad with chicken was absolutely delicious. The dressing was really good and the chicken was a huge portion! I was looking to fuel my body with something healthy and delicious and this meal was perfect! My mother in law got the salmon crusted with pistachios and said it was delicious. Our waitress was fantastic, she had brown hair but I am forgetting her name! Thank you for the great service throughout our meal.

Appetizers were amazing and so were the drinks but it took a long time for us to get our mains courses. And when we did our steaks were flavorless and way over cooked. We asked for medium rare and they were hardly even pink. We could have sent them back to have them fixed but the waitress never returned and then we had to ask another waiter for a dessert menu and our bill. We complained about the $50 dollar meals that we never ate to him and then our waitress came with the desserts and said they were on the house. We left there hungry after paying $217 .

Delicious! Stayed at the Cabins for two nights and decided to dine in the restaurant on the Friday evening so we could relax after a long drive. We made reservations in advance, just in case. Our meals were devine! Sorry, there are no photos of the mains because we hungrily dove right in. My meal was elk steak, and they happily exchanged the sides to what was offered with the ribeye meal as I thought it would be better for my limited potato dinner. It blended so well with the elk that I was so happy I made the substitution. My friend enjoyed the bison bolognese and reported it was delicious as well. We decided to forego appetizers and had dessert instead. My dessert was the chocolate creme brule and was the perfect ending for my elk steak dinner. My friend had the chocolate tower cake, which was huge and equally delicious. Service was great - friendly and attentive without being bothersome. All in all, and excellent experience! Prices are a bit high and reflective of the quality fare - worth the price in my opinion.

Was very hesitant to eat here as I have an allergy to cheese and mushrooms. The waitress was phenomenal and worked with me until I had a meal I could eat. She also kept checking with the chef to make sure nothing had cheese in it. So although it’s not on the menu, my salmon was perfect and the marinara sauce on the spaghetti was very tasty. My aunt who died with me had the tomato soup and the focaccia and her experience was also wonderful. I would highly recommend this place if you’re in Jasper Canada.

Stop serving pizza if you don’t know how to make one! I ordered one because I thought you can’t go wrong with pizza — but you guys proved me wrong. $28 for a piece of dough with eight slices of pepperoni. Super dry. I couldn’t taste any cheese or any of the other ingredients listed on the menu. The only reason I ate three quarters of it was because I wanted to eat together with my family, and we were starving after driving 1000 km. After I told them it was horrible, they gave me a 20% discount on the pizza. Wow … And by the way 10.5$ for a big sparkling water…

We were staying at the Lobstick Lodge next door and ate at the Silverwater Grill both nights. First night was really busy and we had to wait 10 minutes or so to be seated. We had a simple salad for an evening meal and it was really tasty and good value. The second night was much quieter and we had a really nice meal of salmon with salad and tortellini.

Jasper’s Wafflato is a charming brunch spot located at 618 Connaught Dr in Jasper. This family-owned cafe offers a wide range of delectable breakfast options, including omelettes, pancakes, and waffles served with ice cream and sundaes. The restaurant prides itself on providing fast and friendly service to ensure a memorable dining experience for visitors. Guests can expect a warm and inviting atmosphere while indulging in the finest comfort food.
It was our 1st day arriving in Jasper from the train station. A short walk away and we stumble on this cafe. There were seats available for walk in and the service was welcoming. We were seated quickly and able to put our luggage aside with their help. There was a great choice if waffles with good portion and there were choices of juices as well. It was reasonably priced and the waffles are crispy on the outside and the texture is chewy and moist, very delicious. Most importantly, Tejas, who is our service staff welcomed us in warmly and also provide outstanding service. We were well taken care of on our day of arrival. Tejas made a great difference to our day and we had a great meal there.

This is the best place we ate at in Jasper during our 5 day stay! We actually ate here twice because it was so good! Our waiter was awesome and the waffles and breakfast are out of this world! Highly recommend this place. You can come get a meal from here or get a dessert waffle!
Matt J — Google review
A very nice place on the main street of downtown Jasper. Servers are attentive and friendly. The waffles are made fresh, but i find the portions a bit on the small side, and both our chicken waffles had a bit too much Mediterranean taste. The shakes are reasonable priced, and very tasty. They offer a large variety of desserts as well.

Amazing Breakfast Spot! We had a fantastic breakfast here. The food was excellent—especially the waffles! We tried the chicken & avocado and the maple blueberry waffles, and both were delicious. The view is stunning, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The staff were friendly, attentive, and great with kids. Highly recommend this place for a relaxed and tasty breakfast.
Sarita T — Google review
This restaurant is highly overrated. We had avocado waffle and sunrise waffle. The fried chicken was hard and dry. The avocado waffle was topped with plenty of spicy sauce, which was not matched with avocado. Sunrise waffle got little fried eggs which was also dry. Just worse than breakfast meal in any fast-food chains.

Absolutely loved our waffles here! I had the brownie waffle and added vanilla icecream. Hubby and I are from Australia and we are travelling for a few weeks around Canada. I’m keeping a list of my top 5 foods/meals and my brownie waffle went straight to the top of the list!!! Hubby also loved his bacon and egg waffle! Thank you!!

Nice place to eat in Jasper - we were there quite early and ate outside. Good service, nice coffee and smoothies - wide selection of health smoothies. Waffles were divine!

Servers were super friendly. Food was outstanding! Breakfast outside at the patio tables was fun! Quick service AND they closed out the bill faster than any Canadian restaurant in a week!! Loved it! Awesome experience!

Kumama Bistro and Canteen, nestled within Pine Bungalows, is a Japanese-inspired restaurant that derives its name from the Japanese word for bear. The chef's aim was to recreate the comforting flavors of his mother's cooking. The bistro offers a thoughtfully curated menu with options like seasonal risottos and braised bison pasta. Guests can savor creative dishes at reasonable prices in this cozy spot with limited seating.
Zucchini was refreshing. The filling complemented each other well. Mushroom toast was flavorful and had meat bits deep fried. Pork belly was lettuce wrap with marinated salad. Pork might have been a bit dry. Pasta was good. Good seasoning, taste and texture. Love the mushroom and bean sprouts. Thai chicken had pickled pepper which added wonderful colour's and visually difference to a great dish. Plenty of juice and cooked just right. Cauliflower had frank's red hot sauce? It was not overly done and taste great. Drinks were good. Saw an elk outside the restaurant and was still there when we left. Overall a hidden gem in Jasper. You should definitely try it out. Located at front entrance of hotel.

the vegetable dishes are exceptional and i can tell they put a lot of effort into the preparation! everything was amazing! not pictured is the fried chicken and crispy pork belly/papaya salad (because we are them so quickly)! we finished the meal with the speciality soft serve (mocha) and are very satisfied that we came here.
Tessa — Google review
Food was absolutely delicious, though the menu felt a bit limited. Service and staff were amazing really friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was quiet, which made it a nice, relaxed spot to enjoy a meal. Overall, a lovely experience. The mushroom toast was a highlight!!
Taylah E — Google review
Really lovely spot, tucked away outside of the main Jasper stretch. The place had a really cool, with campfires in the back, and a calming interior. The whole vibe was very homey. We ordered the mushroom toast, the pork belly, and the dan dan noodles. The noodles were far and away the best item, absolutely delicious! The pork belly was quite good as well. The mushroom toast wasn't bad, but we wished the mushrooms were a bit more pureed, the chunks of mushroom were a bit difficult to eat. Overall hugely recommended!
Jake B — Google review
The food was perfect even though we arrived too late for breakfast and so selection was limited —we had salads with goats cheese, croissants, coffee, 'breakfast sandwich' heated for us and veggie wrap, everything tasted fresh and delicious. Our waitress was super friendly and made us feel welcome. The place has a cozy vibe, we sat outside near woodfire pit, relaxing. They’ve got good coffee and I enjoyed a crisp local beer; delicious. I’d definitely go back

Beef was amazing, braised to perfection, with minimal salt so you taste the distinct beef flavour. Carrot was soft and sweet. Hidden underneath was the mash potatoes, light and smooth, but portion could be more since it was gone in a blink of an eye. Casaresse was great as well, sauce is fairly light however I didn’t really taste the miso but the mushroom has strong natural flavours. Their dishes are flavoured perfectly to bring off the natural flavours of its ingredients, so you can request to add more salt or pepper to your preference. I’m confident their other dishes are just as good. The nice thing is their menu is limited to about 4-5 dishes per category, so it’s an easy pick for those indecisive individuals.
Jacky H — Google review
Asian influenced food. Creative, tasty yet a little too salty. They don’t offer tuna and some other dishes I saw in people’s reviews so I guess they changed menu. The restaurant is just next to front desk of the hotel so atmosphere is just ok.

We had a great dinner experience. The food was amazing, original and tasty, and the right on suggestions from the staff, they were specially friendly. Really nice spot, we totally recommend it

The Great Hall & Emerald Lounge at Jasper Park Lodge is a versatile dining spot offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. The gastropub provides a convenient option for a quick breakfast with Em to Go available for those in a rush. While some visitors find the prices to be on the higher side, others appreciate the tasty offerings such as the Elk burger and slow-roasted brisket sandwich. The ambiance of The Great Hall is described as grandiose, making guests feel like VIPs.
Hazel was the best server at Jasper Place Lodge, who took care of us during our dinner in the Great Hall restaurant. The customer service provided was truly excellent!

super long wait for our food even though there weren’t too many people. when my rigatoni arrived, it was cold and undercooked, seemed like the chef was being lazy and trying to pass the pasta off as al dente. when my mother asked the waiter for recommendations, he suggested the rice bowl, however the rice in was yet again undercooked and the fish was not fresh at all. save your money and time! do not come here!
Andrea — Google review
Came for our honeymoon! We went and had massages (which were INCREDIBLE) and lunch afterwards! My husband loved the smash burger and fries! I did like my brisket sandwich, however my peach margarita was wayyy too strong and I couldn’t drink it sadly. Giving a 1 star review since I wish the wait staff would have noticed that I didn’t touch it, and checked in with us so I couldn’t mention it 😭 just a little disappointed as newlyweds

We thoroughly enjoy staying at JPL. The facilities and service are excellent. The grounds often have wildlife casually roaming which I particularly love. I find the food scene in Jasper to be somewhat lacking compared to its counterpart further south and that holds true for the restaurants at JPL. While some are great, others leave wanting. I'd avoid the Great Hall for dinner but definitely recommend it for breakfast/brunch. Orso Trattoria, the last time we visited, only offered a set menu which did not live up to its price point. I've since noticed it's been renamed to the Orso Den and offers an a la carte menu which I much prefer - may be worth checking out. We also had the Sunday Brunch at Orso which no longer seems available. We quite enjoyed it at the time.

When I go somewhere like the Jasper Park Lodge I am prepared to pay more for excellent food. However, the food I had was not worth the price I paid for it. The food was very basic. I paid $21 for a bowl of tomato and roasted red pepper soup, which was good in flavour but barely warm. There was an add-on option for a $10 grilled cheese. I felt that the quality of this meal was something I could have gotten at any decent cafe for less money. I was very disappointed and someone in my group was also disappointed with the caesar salad. I just expected better from a restaurant at the Jasper Park Lodge at those prices. Our server was very nice though.

As a young food critic, i beleieve The Great Hall offers a variety of delicate and artistic food. it definitely deserve a 5 star. Starting with the Clam Chowder that offers a great umami creamy taste to the SOCKEYE SALMON SIDE STEAK that gives off what Jasper vacation feels like. The vibe of the great hall is definitely grandieur and it would make you feel like a true VIP.
Maximillian D — Google review
Service was friendly and view is good. Not worth your time. I’ve worked in food service before so I’m usually gracious, but I would never come here again. Mostly because the serving/wait times were long, but especially because the food is absolutely not worth the money. Unless you’re in a higher than average income bracket, I would not recommend. We ordered nachos and had to eat like animals with our fingers because they stuck to the parchment liner, so we couldn’t even eat them all. This was the only thing we really could afford, and we shared it. It did taste good; I’ll give them that.

Thanks for being a part of the solution! Best Tomahawk steak I've ever had. Melted in my mouth.

The café is located near the Valley of the 5 Lakes, an easy and picturesque hike that takes you past five stunning lakes connected by a 5-kilometer loop. Additionally, visitors can catch glimpses of Wapiti, or elk, in various areas around Jasper National Park.
Great place for your Starbucks fix. Good service, and they got our order right.

Decent place for a quick snack and an okay coffee. The food leaves much to be desired, the staff are kind. Good for grabbing a snack and heading somewhere nice to eat.

Coffee was okay but the croissant I ordered was incredibly stale and bad tasting. Staff were friendly.

Starbucks coffee. The service is really nice. Sandwiches overpriced $14.
Mi B — Google review
Selection of baked items with disappointing with only three options. Basic brewed coffee prices are jacked up like crazy compared to most of the Starbucks or coffee places I've been to. Would not come again
