Seafood restaurant
Restaurant
Nestled in a small mountain town, Fiddle River Restaurant offers a rustic-themed dining experience with stunning mountain views. The upscale menu features responsibly sourced Canadian seafood like crab, cod, salmon, and lobster, as well as game meats such as wild boar and elk. Diners can savor signature dishes like Earl Grey smoked candied salmon and braised elk stroganoff while enjoying the picturesque surroundings from the second-floor dining room.
It is a great experience to dine in this restaurant. I didnt reserve my book beforehand n i requested a table by window. The lady welcomed us was so friendly n did give me a table by the window which made us cheerful. Then we were served by a pretty lady and her name is Kea. Her service overall was perfect n made u feel so comfortable to dine in this restaurant. (NB:Some other Canadian restaurants just make u so stressful to dine in.) We ordered mussels , seafood soup and snapper. They are delicious! I strongly recommend this beautiful restaurant n hopefully u can be served by Kea. She is friendly n sincere overall!!

The food was exceptional! I had the seafood chowder and my husband had the seafood risotto. The food was fresh, creamy and bursting with flavour. The service was friendly, fast and our server checked on us many times and refilled our drinks. I would highly recommend. I also loved the artwork on the walls by a local artist.

Right across the Jasper train station for all your Rocky Mountaineering customers is a restaurant offers a wonderful variety of seafood paired with an amazing view of Jasper. The service was excellent from start to finish, and the staff did a great job accommodating our party of seven. We started with the fried calamari and shrimp appetizer, which was crisp and flavorful. For the main course, we shared the Fiddle Fish Pot—a delicious combination of salmon, snapper, prawns, mussels, and clams simmered in a tomato, saffron, and fennel coconut broth, served with French lentil coconut rice. It was rich, fragrant, and beautifully prepared. The rest of our group enjoyed the salmon, chicken breast, and pork chop, all of which were well-cooked and nicely presented. Overall, this is a fantastic spot for dinner in Jasper—great food, welcoming service, and views that make the experience even more special.

To get to the restaurant there are a few flights of stairs. Unless there’s an elevator, I Didn’t see any wheelchair access. The Wait to be seated was very short. There were only a few other patrons inside. Ordered Two small shares for lunch, which were brought to the table shortly after. I don’t think the waitress was happy we only had water to drink and only the two shares. “Is that it?” Average service. For the value of the food I would have expected better serving size. Six shrimp and and small serving of Ceviche. Although there were lots of visitors in Jasper making street parking a challenge, Fiddle River used to be busy with customers. Maybe not so much now for a Noon lunch. Other lunch venues were busy with patios. Window views are dirty, and sadly wildfires ravished the mountain trees and no wildlife to be seen wandering the area.

Service is top notch. Our server was Tomi, and she was super friendly and accommodating. We are a party of 3 adults and a dog ( in a carrier ), she provided blankets for us and water for our pet. There is a portable heated pole outside to keep you comfy. Food is fresh and very well presented. Overall, highly recommend this place

Outstanding place for fresh seafood and chill ambience. ordered: fiddle fish pot, seafood risotto, rainbow trout all fishes were fresh and plump risotto was creamy and extremely delicious with a wonderful blend of mushroom and seafood and great texture from the rice fiddle fish pot was tangy and refreshing with a little brininess from hidden capers tldr: you cant really go wrong with choices here but the risotto is an almost must-get

Food was excellent!!! The Schnitzel is very large and took up the entire plate lol. If you order this item I would definitely ask for a gravy or a sauce to go with it. Wish I took a picture but unfortunately I did not. Desert was good as well but note the Creme brulee was a cold desert not hot or at least when we ordered it. We really enjoyed this restaurant and will definitely be back again.

Delicious food and a lovely view. A busy restaurant, reservation recommended for the weekend. The staff were very kind and though we were late for our reservation, they sat us by the window :-) Our group of 5 got the - Pacific Rim Ceviche appetizer - Alberta Elk Stroganoff - Fiddle Fish Pot - Wild Game Meatloaf - Burger with fries Definitely a filling meal and very yummy, though the elk stroganoff was a little dry. Our favourites were the Fiddle Fish Pot and the Wild Game Meatloaf.

Pizza restaurant

Takeout Restaurant
Jasper Pizza Place, known as JPP by locals, is a casual dining spot offering wood-fired thick-crust pizzas, wings, pasta, and other mains. The restaurant's rooftop patio is a popular feature among visitors. One of their standout dishes is the Canadian poutine with an Indian twist called Rogan Josh, featuring crispy shoestring fries, mozzarella cheese, squeaky curds, and cilantro.
Very nice, friendly staff. I enjoyed the pizza, had the thin version with a nice fluffy crust. The pizza was tasty, topping wise it could have been a bit more generous, other than that just a really good pizza, nice place with a great beer selection. When it gets crowded, it can be a bit loud. Overall, I would recommend coming here when staying in Jasper.
Suza — Google review
Tried 3 different types of Woodfired pizzas but they were all average. We get much better and yummier wood fired pizzas in California so may be not the same . Their patio looked great for such a small place like Jasper but the blinds were down because of the rain , when we went . And yes , they didn’t attend us for a long time until we asked them to take the order , they apologized for that however. Seeing the great reviews ,we thought our experience would be the same , or is it hit or miss ?

After a long day of hiking we decided to do takeout pizza. A popular place in town it's always busy during peak dinner time. We tried their traditional baked pizza *the Sicilian* ham, sausage, yellow hot peppers and cheese. *The Athabasca* gourmet thin crust consists of black olives, artichokes and cheese. Both pizzas were delicious! No complains!
Phillip L — Google review
Haven’t been here in years, and it seems like there may be new owners because the food felt different this time around. The pizza itself was quality, and I really liked that they offered two options: pan or wood oven. The fries were tasty and seasoned just right. I also appreciated the great selection of dips to go along with the meal. ($2.50) per dip. The roof top patio was lovely! One fun surprise was their awesome t-shirts definitely a cool touch that stood out. The staff were very nice and accommodating, which made the experience pleasant overall.
Calista W — Google review
Great dining experience in this place. Was surprised by their meat ball pizza. It’s very pricy for a pizza ($28) but seems it’s expensive to eat everywhere in Jasper! Draft beer is fresh and server made very good recommendations.

Came here for the rooftop patio on recommendation from a tour guide and we were not disappointed! We had Bri as our server and she was super lovely and gave us great service. The pizzas were amazing and the beers so refreshing on a hot summer day. Rooftop patio gave us a great view of the town and mountains as well!

Absolutely beautiful views - cold beer and great pizza. Patio is lovely. Service was great as well. Helpful servers that gave us advice on the area.

Bear's Paw Bakery is a cozy spot in Jasper, offering a warm atmosphere with wood paneling and serving up delicious house-baked pastries, breakfast items, and coffee. It's a local favorite and popular among visitors as well. The bakery offers an array of freshly baked goods including muffins, cookies, cakes, artisanal breads, sandwiches, and wraps. While it has limited seating inside, it's worth stopping by for a delightful breakfast or lunch experience.
Bear’s Paw Bakery is hands down one of my favorite spots in Jasper. I have been coming for years and it’s definitely a family favourite. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with the comforting aroma of freshly baked goods and rich coffee — it’s the kind of place that immediately feels warm and welcoming. The location is perfect, right in town and easy to find whether you’re a local or just passing through on your Rockies adventure. The space itself has a cozy, inviting atmosphere that makes it ideal for grabbing a morning coffee, a quick bite, or even just relaxing for a few minutes with something sweet. It’s clear that everything is made fresh daily — from the flaky croissants and buttery scones to the hearty breakfast sandwiches and mouthwatering desserts. The coffee is excellent every time — rich, smooth, and brewed just right. Whether you’re a fan of a classic drip, espresso, or something more indulgent, they’ve got you covered. The staff are always upbeat, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. Even during busy hours, they’re efficient and kind, creating a positive experience every single time. It’s rare to find a place that nails great food, coffee, service, and atmosphere all in one — but Bear’s Paw Bakery does just that. If you’re in Jasper, this place is a must-visit. I can’t recommend it enough!

We came on a Friday morning at around 10am. There was a line of people, but the line goes pretty fast. They have a microwave inside to heat up pastries if you choose. We saw a sign to order online and pick up at their outside window, so we did that. We got a cinnamon bun, a maple pecan Danish, and a garlic cheese stick (no picture because we finished before taking a picture). All of them were very good, not too sweet. The Danish texture is less flaky and feels more like a biscuit? But still good. Not a lot of maple on it, just a touch of sweetness.

This bakery is a Jasper gem. The baked goods are delicious with a variety of coffees and teas. I did feel a bit rushed as there were so many customers and the staff was trying to move people along, I couldn’t see the selection behind other people until someone moved and then I didn’t have a chance to order it. Despite this, excellent baked goods, lovely little shop.
Sherry D — Google review
This review is based on a single visit. This is apparently a very popular bakery in Jasper. While we were there, we learned that this bakery has loyal local customers, visitors returning for more treats, and first timers (like us) who had heard of the deliciousness created here. At noon on a summer Sunday, the bakery was full of customers. All the tables and counter space were occupied with visitors, sipping their drinks and having pastries. The line was almost out the door. We don't know if this is normal, but for us this is how it was. There were plenty of young and friendly staff to handle the workload. Everyone was hustling about, filling orders and making sure that the customers were taken care of well. We did not wait in line long before we placed our orders. We got a couple of pastries and regular drip coffees. The pastries were OK. We suspected the pastries would have been better right out of the oven, but that's more of a timing thing than a quality thing. The medium and dark coffees we had were excellent. Excellent. We neglected to take note of the name of the coffee we had. However, we believe they were local to the area. The seating area inside the bakery was full. There were small tables and counter space for customers. There's also some seating outside, but not very much. For the bakery, that's a great problem to have, a bakery full of customers. For customers, however, it could be a problem if you wanted to have a place to sit and enjoy the pastries. We took ours out to the parking lot across the street and eight off the bed of our truck. We're used to it, and to be honest, we preferred it. The parking lot across the street from the bakery is more than enough to handle the customers that visit. If not, there's street parking available. However, everything is "paid parking" so keep that in mind.
Roy A — Google review
We tried a few things here but the clear and undeniable winner is their STICKY CINNAMON BUN. You'd think you'd miss the creamy frosting of a cinnamon role, but this beast when warm is just a gooey caramelly masterpiece. The other pastries we tried leaned towards dry but no issue with the sticky bun. VERY popular spot in town so expect to wait in line 15 minutes or so, or I gathered you could order online for pickup outside quicker.
Nicholas K — Google review
Gets very busy in the mornings because it’s a very small space, but this is a nostalgic place for my family and I so we don’t mind! Used to live here about 2 decades ago, and the baked goods are a bit dry (depending on what you get), but generally are as good as I remember. the variety is great, and the service is very efficient! Only unfortunate thing was that their drinks just taste like milk. We had a chai and London fog, and both just tasted like steamed milk with a very very faint flavour. The addition of the chocolate on top is always nice though!
K — Google review
We went to this café right after breakfast, around 10 to 10:30 in the morning. Unfortunately, by the time we got there most of the breakfast sandwiches were already sold out. They only had one left, which we ordered. It was actually really good — fresh bread, good flavor, and you could tell their bread and pastries are baked in-house. We also tried a pastry that was rolled in caramel, and it was delicious. The café had a microwave too, so you could warm up your pastry if you wanted, which I thought was a nice touch. I especially liked the caramel and cinnamon combo, and overall, all the baked goods we tried were fresh and tasty. The only real disappointment was the muffin. There were four of us, and none of us liked it. It was very dense, kind of dry, and just didn’t have good flavor. I’m not sure if it was an off recipe or maybe just not fresh, but it was definitely the weakest item we tried. The coffee was fine, nothing special, but totally acceptable. The café itself had a nice atmosphere, and the baristas were great. They were attentive and friendly. The only thing that felt off was the cashier, who seemed to be rushing through orders a bit too much. It made the interaction feel a little uncomfortable. Overall though, still a good spot.

I recently visited Bear Paw Café in Jasper Downtown, and it was such a happy experience! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and they offer a wonderful variety of food and coffee. Everything we tried was fresh and delicious. Highly recommend trying their pizza pretzels and croissants—both were absolutely amazing! With great options, friendly vibes, and quality food, this café is definitely a must-visit in Jasper.

Daniyal S — Google review
We haven't been to Evil Dave's Grill since they moved to this location, and since we were staying at the Marmot Lodge, we figured it was a great opportunity to have dinner at Evil Dave's with our children. I made a reservation through their website and I'm sure glad I did as the restaurant was full upon our arrival. People without reservations were either being turned away or having to wait, but it seemed as though most had made reservations. Our server was very helpful and offered some great suggestions. Our children both decided on the Hurtin' Alberta kids meal and they greatly enjoyed it, saying that the burger was better than the ones I make at home (how dare they 😆). They had some other great options for kids as well. The Little Buddha was their second choice. My wife chose the Karma Curry with chicken and naan bread, and it was easily the best dish that was ordered. It was very flavourful and filling, and I honestly wish I had ordered it myself. I ended up going with the Chef's Cut steak with daily vegetables which was perfectly cooked. Even though it was delicious with a peppercorn sauce that complimented the entire dish, I think I would've enjoyed the Karma Curry a bit more. We finished our meal by sharing their Chocolate Cake and ice cream. It definitely wasn't a cheap dinner for the family, but it was delicious and memorable. We'd definitely return again in the future.

Really enjoyed the menu here. I had the bison meatloaf and it was very good. Good service and comfortable environment. Would go again.

Food pretty great. Drinks not so much. Had a 'Cool Brew' cocktail (an espresso martini in all but name) that was the worst I've ever had. Their Instagram shows a better version than I was served, I think possibly the bartender's first day. For a place that boasts high quality cocktails, it was hilariously bad. See pic. Watched the bartender make it, he doesn't appear to understand how to shake a cocktail. Beer selection was also a lone hefeweizen. We were put on a table basically beside another large group, and seated after a couple who had a reservation a half hour after us, who got a much nicer table. Just felt like it was everybody's first day in hospitality. Everything except the food which I genuinely can't fault. My awkward order was accommodated perfectly. The chefs deserve a better everything else.

Evil Dave’s Grill – A Jasper Gem That Misses the Mark on Flavor The name Evil Dave’s Grill sets high expectations, and walking in, I was impressed. The decor is beautiful and captures the essence of Jasper perfectly—cozy, stylish, and inviting. The service matched the atmosphere: friendly, attentive, and efficient throughout the meal. Unfortunately, that’s where the praise ends. The food was a major letdown. Despite a menu that sounded promising, what arrived at the table was bland, uninspired, and lacked any real depth of flavor. It genuinely felt as if some of the dishes came straight from a can—overpriced and underwhelming. For the cost, I expected much more. Jasper isn’t short on great dining options, and sadly, Evil Dave’s didn’t deliver where it matters most: the food. With a bit more attention to flavor and creativity in the kitchen, this place could live up to its potential. Until then, it’s style over substance.

Very nice food, great service I went for the typhoon noodles with prawns and had the vicious hippies pan fried gyoza, lovely flavour throughout the noodles had a lovely background heat to them in a delicious sauce, the gyoza had a nice subtle gingery taste, id say slightly on the pricey side for what it is but can't fault the food as it was delicious and the service was impeccable.
Richard M — Google review
I would absolutely come back to eat here. They were decent to deal with, however, here are my qualms… I booked for a large group of people (25+) and they gave me a menu of select items, and prices. As soon as they found out it was for a wedding, the price on each item increased by 1$-5$. I was also disappointed that despite paying additional for dinner, there was no thank you or complimentary glass of champagne for myself or my husband. Two of our family members thought that was rather odd and quite unfortunate as we got married that day and chose to celebrate at evil Dave’s. Excellent food. Subpar service.
Taylee C — Google review
A huge thank you to the entire team at Evil Dave’s Grill! Not only was the food amazing — the burger was super tasty and not greasy at all, and the bowl was absolutely delicious — but the service was outstanding. Everything was super fast, and our waiter was genuinely attentive, professional, and truly interested in his guests. And now for the most incredible part… I lost my passport during my visit to Jasper and accidentally left it at the restaurant. Thanks to their honesty and kindness, they found it, reached out to me, and even arranged for express shipping to my hotel in Vancouver — I honestly wouldn’t have been able to return to my country without their help. I have no words to express how grateful I am. Wonderful people, amazing food, and truly exceptional service. Highly, highly recommended. Sandy

Syrahs of Jasper is an intimate and warm-hued eatery and bar located in downtown Jasper. The restaurant offers a changing menu featuring regional Canadian cuisine, with dishes made from fresh Alberta bison, Angus beef, British Columbian seafood, and creative sides like hand-made potato gnocchi or white-cheddar poutine.
What a surprise and first time customer!! Having lived and travelled many places this restaurant is right up there. Don’t be fooled by the storefront which is misconspicuous…what you get for quality, presentation and price is amazing. The duck, elk and salads are incredible. If you’re in Jasper… don’t miss having a diner here. I took a couple pics of our meals.

Shared a beautiful meal here celebrating my friends bachelor party. The service was excellent, and the wait staff was attentive. Would recommend for any special occasion or just treating yourself! The old fashioned was my fave drink on the menu and the amuse bouche was a lovely start to a delicious meal.

Awesome food and service. We ordered wild boar chops which was one of their featured dishes for the evening. Juicy and tender, very nice. The wild mushrooms and lentil loaf was a bit burnt at the bottom. That's why four stars for food. House salad tastes delicious with house made dressings. Our server told us everything in the restaurant is house made.
Caroline W — Google review
Absolutely wonderful place that felt very cozy. The waitress was so attentive and kind. Her recommendations were on point and the freebie items of the bison tartar and the carrot and chive biscuit were delicious. The chef has made it so that most of the menu is gluten free, which I think is pretty cool. The bison striploin was scrumptious and to die for. They do have a plant based option on the lentil meatloaf which I thought was pretty well seasoned and very delicious. The desserts were out of this world! The goat cheese cheesecake with blackberries was so good that it tasted like an elevated version of an Oreo cheesecake. And the creme brule of the day was spoon-licking good. Overall, it is a place that you have to visit and have a dinner at least once! It's pretty romantic too, so bring your date!

This is the best restaurant we have been at in Jasper, and we have eaten in the top 10 of them. Everything was delicious and special. The server was so nice, when she asked if we needed anything else, I made a joke that world peace would be nice, so she drew me that. The food was Michelin level. If you want a better life, try their cheese cake. The drinks were also delicious. We will come back in our next visit.
Amir S — Google review
I was skeptical at first with the mixed reviews, but I am so glad I ignored the bad ones because I had an amazing dinner here. The elk carpaccio is honestly one of the best dishes I've had ever, even more enjoyable than some Michelin star restaurant dish and I'm really not exaggerating. The caramelized onion tart was also amazing, really amazing pastry and tomatoes and herbs were a perfect match. The bison rib eye was a highlight. Very flavourful and perfectly cooked, normally I don't like my streaks with any sauces but this sour cherry glaze worked so well with it. Elk Wellington...I'm normally not a fan of the tenderloin cut but this was really perfectly done as well. Keep in mind there's a strong mustard used for the Wellington. I liked it but for those who don't like the mustard/horseradish kick, be warned it is a strong flavour. I think you get the point of you're still reading my essay. Just eat here...you won't regret it! Well done Syrahs! I'd give 6 stars if I could.
Sam L — Google review
I came to this restaurant because we read amazing reviews, and they didn't disappoint. Make sure you book reservations ahead of time, because I saw numerous people get turned away due to the full capacity of the restaurant. Our server, I believe his name was Brian was an amazing host for the evening. He was welcoming, friendly, attentive and professional. For starters, me and my friend split the elk capasscio, and grime meatball. Elk capasscio was delicious, and packed with flavours. Super light and tasty. Grime meatball, I felt lacked flavour and felt like it was just sitting in tomato sauce and onions. Main course, I had the Elk Wellington, which was cooked perfectly. Pasty was very flaky and crisp, and elk was cooked to a nice medium rare. Mashed potato and berry sauce paired very well with everything. I highly recommend coming to this restaurant, as it was one of the highlights of my trip!

The vibe inside is appreciated. Service was profession and attentive but casual, not trying to be too fancy. Complimentary (included) pallet cleansers and biscuit is a welcome and appreciated touch. The menu is intriguing. Elk carpaccio was good but I felt it was overpowered by everything else on the plate and the quality of those elements didn’t match the elk. Bison was good, like a slow cooked beef and the richness of the vegetable sauce was savourable. Unfortunately I found it hard to find the 3day smokey flavour, and the gnocchi was far more of potato flavour and texture then I would expect. Dessert also enjoyed. Overall all nice food, but at $90+ pp it was just too expensive for the flavours I got and the quality of the ingredients. I’m glad I tried but I wouldn’t return. I’ve had better for less.

Fusion restaurant
ALBA Restaurant, located on the second floor in downtown Jasper, offers a casual dining experience with classic Italian dishes such as pizza, pasta, meat, and fish. The restaurant features an open kitchen and a terrace with beautiful mountain views. The menu includes crispy calamari, beef carpaccio, baked meatballs, and house-made pasta dishes along with beef, salmon, lamb, and duck entrees.
Came here with some coworkers and thoroughly enjoyed my food. A bunch of people were getting the espresso martinis and loved them. The drinks took a long time to come out but they were delicious! I ordered the Oxtail Pasta for dinner which was devine. The meat was so tender and the sauce was so tasty it was melting in my mouth. Even when I was full I couldn’t stop eating.

The portions here are big! Prices are also very competitive and execution of skills - although not top tier - is competent and experienced. Their Carbonara pasta and meatball appy are delicious. Mushroom ravioli is fresh. The slight let down were the gnocchis but overall we enjoyed everything. If you are craving for italian food, come to Alba!

Dinner at Alba was splendid!!🤩 I was so struggling to find a nice restaurant because.. if you are paying some money(I am a young worker so I don't have much money), you want it to be worth it! Alba is TOTALLY WORTH IT! Ordered Meatball, Mushroom soup, Mezzi Rigatoni, Alberta Bistecca. The food came out so quick and at once(loved it). They were all yummy and I liked that the steak here came out with mashed potatoes as well. The plating made the dish more luxurious and valuable. Kudos to the chef! The waiter was really nice and really made us our day as well. I wanted to treat my boyfriend and my little brother because boyfriend, he drove us YYC to Reddeer and my lil bro came to visit me from S.KOREA. They both loved it and I am sooo satisfied!! If you are struggling which restaurant to go, go ALBA☺️

I'll start off by saying we didn't plan to go here. The place we intended to go didn't have a table for us so we went here randomly which turned out to be one of the best meals we had in Jasper. This place is really underrated, which I'll get into at the end. First and most importantly the food was fantastic. Each dish was prepared just right. We had the shrimp risotto, gnocchi parmigiana, duck and sockeye salmon. Each dish was awesome, with maybe the only the salmon being just good. Both risotto and gnocchi were prepared just right and tasty without being overbearing. The duck was perfectly medium with a nice glaze and tasted delicious. The salmon was perfectly cooked but but in comparison to the other dishes, I could only rate it as good. I fully expected the salmon wasn't going to be spectacular, but felt I needed to get off the over eating of red meat and carbs that I've had all vacation. For desert, despite being full, we shared a tiramisu and rhubarb panne cotta. Both were small but very good. Just enough to hit the spot. We also had a bread basket and meatballs appetizers. The bread, while nice and warm, was just ok. The meatballs were nice. The portions for the gnocchi and risotto were just right. The salmon was as expected, but the duck was a bit smaller than what we would have liked. The great basket portion was a small considering it was just bread and we had to pay for it. The meat balls were a bit on the small side too. Despite the smaller portion sizes, the prices were very reasonable given the location, overall quality and taste of the food. I highly recommend and if it wasn't our last night in town, we'd certainly go back. I feel this place should be packed but somehow they aren't and I'd offer up some suggestions: Since they are on the 2nd floor, the restaurant need do a much better presentation for first impression at the entrance. We almost didn't go in because of that, but went anyway because of the good reviews on Google Maps and my kids were hungry The menu board frame looks worn and beat up. The glass is not clear, inside the frame it's a bit dusty, the wood frame itself is worn and water damaged. The menu board advertising "best prices in town" was a real turn off. No good restaurant would draw clients in with that catch line, or you'll get the wrong clients in looking for cheap prices and they'll be disappointed. The pictures on the menu board really do a disservice to the food. Both the colors and the actual photos are not appealing. The stair case needs a refresh or something. The concrete paint damaged stairs, metal hand rail makes this seem like a back door emergency escape, rather than the main entrance of a nice restaurant. I noticed many customers come up, looking confused and trying to figure if they were indeed in the right place and if they should really eat here. I can only assume many don't even make it up. Lastly if this was my place, I'd replace the folding sign with something a bit more upscale, maybe a chef caricature statue holding a chalk board menu, but this is a small detail. While the inside decor could use some work that would be a bigger investment. I'd first focus on the lower cost front door issues.

We had a great experience at ALBA this evening - the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. Everyone found something they enjoyed for dinner, service was quick, and food was piping hot. The gnocchi with pomodoro was delicious and I loved the arancini. It was a great first meal in Jasper!
Sarah L — Google review
Overall food quality is reasonably good though not great (great means close to Michelin-star quality), am surprise we can have this quality in Jasper. The shrimp risotto too me is abit soft not al dente though if i have to complain. Service was great but somewhat understaff, they may need one more helper for better service.
The Y — Google review
Very nice restaurant. We ordered the risotto and arancini, they were pretty good. We also ordered the steak and the lasagna, but both were awful! The steak had a huge nerve through it, very cheap cut. The lasagna was half grease and oil. The service was excellent, they were apologetic and offered us free dessert and took the bad food off our bill. But even the dessert was sad. The tiramisu was more of a yellow pudding. Maybe they have a new chef? I’d say great service, not so consistent or good food.
Vicky R — Google review
Delicious! I particularly enjoyed the Crostini Platter and the Mezzo Rigatoni. Tuscan Arugula and Prosciutto salad was good, the baked meatballs however is just about average. Overall, nice setting and good service!

Coco's Cafe is a charming spot in Jasper known for its commitment to serving incredibly fresh coffee and espresso. The cafe offers a menu of light fare with options for vegans, vegetarians, and those with celiac preferences. The cozy space is designed to make guests feel at home, featuring calming colors, natural light fixtures, and soothing music. Additionally, the cafe bakes its own artisan bread and caters to large groups.
Excellent little cafe with seating inside and some patio space to enjoy outside during brunch. We had the breakfast wrap and the French toast, which has cream cheese in it. I prefer breakfast wraps/burritos to sweet and the wrap was quite tasty. The French toast was surprisingly lighter than I thought it would be versus dense. If you have had an asian made cake before you will understand what I mean. Price was also quite reasonable. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quick bite in a quaint spot.

I had the pleasure of trying spicy 🌶️ panner wrap Coco’s Café at the Jasper Food Truck, and it was fantastic! The flavors were fresh, vibrant, and full of personality. Every bite tasted homemade with real care put into it. The portions were generous, the ingredients tasted high quality, and the seasoning was spot on. The staff were warm and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. Whether you’re just passing by or looking for your new favourite lunch spot, this is a hidden gem worth finding.

Coco’s is currently operating as a food truck across the street from the shell. The owner (?) is so friendly and helpful! He remembered me on my second visit. Located at Jasper's world-famous Maligne Lake, The View offers stunning panoramas of the iconic Canadian Rockies landscape. This outdoor seasonal restaurant in Jasper National Park is a top choice for tourists seeking a delightful lunch experience. With an emphasis on regional, chef-driven cuisine, the menu features delectable options such as Rainbow Trout with flavorful vegetable accompaniments. The service is commendable, and the ambiance adds to the overall dining experience.
This spot is definitely worth the drive! My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful meal on the patio overlooking the lake, and then took a stroll over by the boat house. It was truly one of the most memorable points in our entire trip through the Canadian Rockies!

We came here for a quick lunch before our Maligne Lake cruise. Thankfully, our food was served quickly so we weren't late. The food was good and interesting, fresh. We got the pork canna dilla, pork flat bread, and pickerel lettuce wrap. The sandwiches were good, but I was not a fan of the chips it was served with. Prices are high for what you get, but makes sense since this is a tourist area. There is a large patio area where most of the diners were seated. Unfortunately the washrooms were broken so we had to walk up the hill at the other restaurant.
Eileen L — Google review
Food is meh but it was unfortunately the incredibly rude and disrespectful service that ruined our experience here. I was hoping it would be isolated to their hostess. Not the case. Seems to be the running theme here that they are inconvenienced by even your presence there. Eye rolls. Scoffs. Sarcastic remarks to standard questions. Absolutely would not recommend and even worse not at all accommodating for families. We visited on Aug 23 2025 and although the views are amazing, don’t waste your time or your money coming here. Brutal place to bring your kids due to the staff. Pack a lunch!!

A thoroughly enjoyable experience for lunch at The View, Maligne Lake. Our server, Jess, was extremely friendly/polite, very attentive & gave great recommendations on the food/drinks menu. Food came out promptly & didn't disappoint. We will definitely be coming again & look forward to the kind staff & exceptional food!

Wish we could say that we enjoyed lunch at the view. Despite placing an order about 40 mins to go for our boarding time for our cruise, we ended up having to get them in take out boxes and scramble for seats on the cruise at the end. There needs to be better coordination between the servers and the kitchen here.

I had a good experience today at The View. I went for a very long hike and was looking for something to eat; The View was the only place there was. I ordered a poutine (since i'm from Montreal haha) and a chicken cesar salad. The food was good, but the portions and prices were really not it. The poutine was $12 which iis reasonable, but the chicken cesar salad was $17. For both these meals, the portions were very small. The atmosphere was great. Lots of place to sit inside AND outside. The service was also okay. The girl at the cash register today (monday june 10 at 2pm) was very kind and was definitely the nicest employee i spoke to at The View. She is doing a very good job and i hope she knows. My experience was overall very good and i do recommend.
Charlotte B — Google review
Words cannot express how disappointing lunch was today. We only came here as it was included in the package deal with the Maligne Lake Cruise. In the original booking, it shows the full course entrees, and allowed us to pick any of the options, but in person there were only three. We ordered the Steelhead Trout and the Chicken with one of each dessert. For a restaurant that proclaims they have a "gourmet menu", and local ingredients, and with the price point that it is, I expect the food to at least taste good. This was not the case. With several failed culinary techniques; not seasoning the food, potatoes on the verge of being raw, plating, inconsistent cooking, along with the service. I certainly and highly recommend people to avoid this touris trap. Sarah (Manager), understood the frustration and took the proper steps by upgrading our meals and offering on the house dips and chips during the wait. Once again, the food was a disappointment. Moving onto the second course, the radicchio was cut into a 1/4 and just left whole and dirty (inside had dirt still), proteins were bland AGAIN, food was cold. We waited a total of 1.5hrs (including dessert) and all of it was extremely horrible. The desserts alone looks like a child created it, and I come from a fine dining background (which we would not serve). Steve, the GM, seems to struggle with our frustration and felt as if he did above and beyond service to make our experience better when he absolutely did not and actually made it even worse. There were many more issues to go along with our dining experience, but to wait 1.5hr in addition to 1hr and 45mins (cruise), and to eat nothing because the food was disgusting and leaving starving and unsatisfied, this shows a lot of volume of how they run a business. Please spend your money elsewhere or pack a picnic to enjoy Maligne Lake.

Jasper’s Wafflato is a charming brunch spot located at 618 Connaught Dr in Jasper. The restaurant prides itself on providing fast and friendly service to ensure a memorable dining experience for visitors. Guests can expect a warm and inviting atmosphere while indulging in the finest comfort food.
It was our 1st day arriving in Jasper from the train station. A short walk away and we stumble on this cafe. There were seats available for walk in and the service was welcoming. We were seated quickly and able to put our luggage aside with their help. There was a great choice if waffles with good portion and there were choices of juices as well. It was reasonably priced and the waffles are crispy on the outside and the texture is chewy and moist, very delicious. Most importantly, Tejas, who is our service staff welcomed us in warmly and also provide outstanding service. We were well taken care of on our day of arrival. Tejas made a great difference to our day and we had a great meal there.

This is the best place we ate at in Jasper during our 5 day stay! We actually ate here twice because it was so good! Our waiter was awesome and the waffles and breakfast are out of this world! Highly recommend this place. You can come get a meal from here or get a dessert waffle!

A very nice place on the main street of downtown Jasper. Servers are attentive and friendly. The waffles are made fresh, but i find the portions a bit on the small side, and both our chicken waffles had a bit too much Mediterranean taste. The shakes are reasonable priced, and very tasty. They offer a large variety of desserts as well.

Amazing Breakfast Spot! We had a fantastic breakfast here. The food was excellent—especially the waffles! We tried the chicken & avocado and the maple blueberry waffles, and both were delicious. The view is stunning, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The staff were friendly, attentive, and great with kids. Highly recommend this place for a relaxed and tasty breakfast.

This restaurant is highly overrated. We had avocado waffle and sunrise waffle. The fried chicken was hard and dry. The avocado waffle was topped with plenty of spicy sauce, which was not matched with avocado. Sunrise waffle got little fried eggs which was also dry. Just worse than breakfast meal in any fast-food chains.

It’s generally okay, service was a bit iffy and my bratwurst was room temperature when they brought it back it still wasn’t great. But the food was really fast. If you are looking for an unpretentious breakfast in Jasper come here.

We had a hard time deciding on where to grab breakfast while staying in Jasper, and settled on Papa George's Restaurant based on kids menu options. Upon arrival, we were promptly seated, but we were not given any kids menus for our children. Our waitress then did not return and was busy chatting with the other staff. As I looked around the restaurant, there were only 3 other tables seated, two of which we're finishing their meals and one of which was waiting on their server. I asked if they had been waiting long and they said they were ready to leave, which is the point we were now at as well. Luckily the waitress returned and attended to both our tables. The service was definitely better after this point. We all enjoyed our breakfasts, and the kids devoured theirs. My wife and I were surprised at the portions for the kids meals given the pricing, so definitely worthwhile. The hash browns were delicious as was the bacon with was perfectly crispy. We'd return again and hope the service is a bit more attentive especially when guests are first seated.

Had dinner here with the kids. The children's menu is very simple. We got the mini burger and it was clearly a frozen patty served on a bun. No veggies, cheese or sauce. The adult menu items we got were ok. Nothing to write home about. The staff are very friendly and it has a nice atmosphere.
Vahid R — Google review
On August 19th at 7 PM, we dined at this restaurant and had a very disappointing experience. We placed our order at 7:15 PM, but the food wasn’t served until 8:54 PM — an incredibly long wait considering there were only three families dining at the time. My kids were starving by the time the food finally arrived. We ordered a salmon bowl and a beef steak for ourselves, and from the kids’ menu, we got spaghetti and a mini burger. I specifically requested a well-done steak, but what I received was completely burnt — bitter and almost inedible. I couldn’t even finish my meal. I informed the server, but she didn’t offer any apology or solution. The salmon bowl was extremely dry, lacking sauce, and the rice was undercooked — barely 30% done — so my husband couldn’t finish his meal either. As for the kids’ burger, it arrived without any sauce or cheese, and the patty was so dry that my 8-year-old couldn’t even chew it. The spaghetti was overly sauced. Overall, this was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had in Jasper. The food quality, service, and overall experience were extremely disappointing. I would not recommend spending your money here.
Jececa S — Google review
Top notch everything. Slightly disappointed that I got two pieces of bacon instead of three but they made up for it with phenomenal service and tasty everything. The fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious but beware if you are not into pulp; it’s chewy.
Beth N — Google review
This is the very first time when I was asked of why I didn’t pay a tip. And not just me, the server asked all my other 4 friends. This was so humiliating as I am a first year student who saved and came to have some time off. Most of all- tips is a choice, not a compulsion. I have been to so many eateries- this was my first experience where I was asked in such a derogatory way. There are so many nice places in jasper but I chose this as the ambiance looked nice but had such a mood spoiling experience.
Sehajpreet K — Google review
Ate indoors. Patio was full; indoors almost empty. No-one else came in. Ordered Shepherds Pie. Lots of meat but fairly bland; couldn't taste garlic potatoes. Surprised to be offered sides of fries (considering topping of mash!) or salad. Was presented with bill without asking for it - or even being asked if we wanted dessert. Almost as if they wanted us out - at 8:30pm. Two restaurants next door were doing a roaring trade.

I would come here for the views… not for the food unfortunately. The setting is very beautiful and upscale. If you’re lucky to snag a window seat, the view opens up to the beautiful valley and mountains. Food, unfortunately, i cannot recommend. The gnocchi was rather bland and flavorless. The bison on the bison slides was overcooked. Few saving graces were the caramelized onions on the slides and the price. Our waitress was great though the kitchen took very long for so few tables

Went here for breakfast as there is nothing else around (Jasper is 40 mins away and Hinton 25 mins) Food was a bit weird tbh. Had the Outlander breakfast which claimed to have hash browns which were just little dry baked potatoes, half a sausage (!) and dry toast. Service was nonexistent and I ended up grabbing some left over butter from another table. My wife had the granola which looked ok, but again had some dry toast on the side as well. The outdoor patio area was nice and has great views. Would we come here again? No. I’d drive 40 mins into Jasper

Had one of the best dining experiences of our whole trip here. The tomato soup was to die for, the duck was delicious and the chicken was cooked and flavored to perfection. Don't forget the beautiful view! Reservation is recommended. The staff were absolutely lovely as well. They were so accommodating with our dietary restrictions and desire to choose just the right wine. Ask for Darcy! He made our night extra special. Hope we can come back on our next trip. Great breakfast/brunch spot for a nice view. Not sure how dinner is over there but the atmosphere and service was wonderful. Jessica, our server was phenomenal and did very well to set a high standard. If in the area, would be back. No halal options, vegetarian options are limited, but we made substitutes work in our favour.

Excellent food. Highly recommend this restaurant. Often even at high end restaurant, there is some dishes or desserts that are not as good as others. This was not the case at Stone Peak Restaurant; honestly cannot say which dish was preferred. They all were well done and very enjoyable. Our server Michael was excellent too. Friendly, talkative and made the experience even better. He told us the chef especially makes each of the desserts himself. Definitely would come here again. What I didn't like is when making a reservation, the person who answered the phone made it sound so busy that our only option to get a table was 5pm or 8:30pm. We took the 5pm slot and finished dinner at 7:30pm. It was fairly empty so I can't imagine they would have a sitting and expect them to finish in 1 hr when it took us 2.5hrs to eat. We couldn't understand why we were given such bad options with time.
J Y — Google review
My wife and I decided to visit for dinner on our last night in the area before travelling back to Banff. The restaurant was not overly busy - 20 covers between 4 waiting staff. Our starters were nice (albeit the gazpacho was way too big for a starter) but this is where it started to go downhill. Our main courses arrived before our starters had even been cleared, my wife’s cocktail which she hadn’t finished was briskly taken away and replaced with her wine she requested for the main course. When the mains did arrive (baring in mind our starters hadn’t been cleared) the waiter didn’t have a clue what to do and even asked if we wanted to carry on with our starters while being served the mains (very strange). The chicken main was extremely rich and the chicken was almost indistinguishable between the other ingredients in the dish as it had been mashed into oblivion. The burger was at best average and dry with the main taste of overly salty bacon jam with the bison patty being dry. The redeeming feature of the meal was the dessert however this didn’t make up for the lack of process behind the waiting staff I.e clearing a course before the next had even left the kitchen or the subpar and overly priced savoury dishes! All in all a very disappointing meal only saved by a nice view of the sunset over the distant mountains. For $272 I’d have expected a much better experience and would not recommend to any friends or family visiting the area considering other options (even driving 45 minutes to go back into Jasper!)

I'll start by saying we've been here numerous times and LOVED IT. Everytime we are on our way through we always stop for dinner. The staff are amazing, atmosphere breath taking and food mouth watering good. We have no problem paying for a fine meal and a nice night out but tonight we left disappointed to say the least, which is a shame. 58$ for a plate with a small 4 ounce (6 max) mouth watering tenderloin steak and less than half a cup of creamed potatoes with no vegetables. 5$ for a Folding Mountain pint on happy hour prices which was as always amazing and 15$ for a single ounce Ceasar OUCH. Every other time we've been for dinner we were offered bread and oil as well as vegetables with our meal. Tim Hortons is a must-visit Canadian chain known for its premium-blend coffee, breakfast sandwiches, pastries, and light fare. It's a popular stop for travelers heading out on long drives or looking for a quick bite. With an array of options including donuts and limited edition tumblers, Tim Hortons offers something for everyone. Whether you're a first-time visitor to Canada or a local resident, stopping by Tim Hortons is always a delightful experience.
A Perfect Start to the Day in Jasper! If you're in Jasper and looking for a cozy, welcoming spot to start your morning, Tim Hortons here is a must-visit. The atmosphere is incredibly warm and inviting — the charming interior and the breathtaking early morning mountain air create a perfect pairing with a hot cup of coffee. Yes, it does get a bit crowded in the morning, but that’s only a sign of how popular and loved this place is. Despite the hustle, everything runs smoothly, and service remains friendly and efficient. A special shoutout to Jason, one of the staff members who truly stood out during our visit. He was exceptionally kind and helpful — you can tell he takes pride in making customers feel welcome and cared for. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite before exploring the national park or just sipping coffee while watching the morning unfold in Jasper, this Tim Hortons delivers every time. Highly recommended!

The staff here are so nice. They are welcoming and personable. When they’re not too busy they make an effort to ask you about your day all while multi tasking and making your order. It’s refreshing to be in a place that sees you as a person and not just another customer to rush along. Of all the Tim's I’ve been to, far and wide, this place is my favorite just because of the delightful staff! ❤❤❤😍😍

The flatbread they made had so less chicken and the sides were also blank. Half of the pizza was thrown because of the edges. I have had this flatbread before as well from Tim hortons but was never this bad. I went on the 13th september.Worst service.Would never recommend anyone.

I’ve been avoiding Tim Hortons for a while because most feel like basic road stop gas stations — but not this one in Jasper! Walking into this location is a totally different experience. The staff are incredible — they work hard, take pride in what they do, and have genuinely great conversations with customers. You couldn’t ask for a better Tim Hortons. 100% recommend this place
Tracy N — Google review
As a regular, I can honestly say it's my go-to spot! The service is always fantastic, the staff are incredibly friendly, and the food and coffee are consistently great. It's more than just a coffee shop; it's a place where you feel welcomed every time. Highly recommended ❤️❤️❤️

I ended a toxic relationship. After years of love bombing, sweetness, addiction, and disappointment… I finally broke up with Tim Hortons Our last moment? A BLT with no sauce slapped together half assed and the wrong drink…again. The error rate? Easily 80% The vibe? Bland. The food? My school cafeteria was better, why do I pay for this?! If you’re still holding on, I get it. Denial is comforting. But one day, you too will look at your incorrect coffee order and say, “I deserve better.” Farewell, old friend. I’ll remember the good times. Mostly from the 1990’s.

We're heading back to the U.S. after a short vacation in Jasper, and we just had to share our wonderful first-time experience at Tim Hortons Jasper! The breathtaking mountain views outside, combined with the beautiful heritage structure of the store, made it a truly special stop. But what made it even more memorable was the incredible service — especially from the Filipino crew who served us last night. They were so kind, friendly, and welcoming. A special shoutout to the muscular guy (possibly the manager?) — I didn’t get his name, but he deserves all the praise! The way he carried himself, the way he spoke, and the way he moved — everything was so professional and confident. Even with the long line of customers, he led his team with calmness and precision. He was handling multiple and complex orders while answering customer inquiries — and doing it all with a smile. I personally thanked him for his efficiency and impressive service, but what struck me the most was his humility — he told me, "I can’t take the credit alone, it’s all because of the team." That speaks volumes about the kind of leader he is. It was honestly one of the best service experiences me and my family have ever had. Thank you, Tim Hortons Jasper team! We’ll see you again next year. More power and keep up the amazing work! 🇨🇦❤️☕️

Had some good experiences but today was terrible. Ordered via the app and saw them make it and left it to the side waiting for more items to finish the order. Staff then stood in the corner pretending to look busy cleaning things. They should’ve put it on the mobile order rack but they were too lazy to do that. When I asked about the order they just handed it to me, now cold. Very dissatisfied and disappointed and not even a sorry or offer to remake items. (Also the tables were dirty and not wiped down. Not the best)

Lostlands Cafe is the perfect pit stop for families looking to recharge during their adventures. If the little ones are feeling restless, a quick visit here can provide just the right amount of sustenance with their selection of semi-healthy snacks. The cafe boasts a cozy atmosphere that invites you to sit back and enjoy your time, whether you're indulging in an outstanding latte made from dark roasted beans or savoring fresh-baked pastries.
Loved this place. Fresh and delicious food. Fair prices and friendly staff. I tried the big bad wolf sandwich and my partner got the oink n yolk breakfast sandwich and an iced macchiato. Everything was tasting really good and we were happy with our choices. We tried each other’s sandwiches and we both liked all of the items we ordered. We were walking down the street looking for a cafe and decided to check this one out, definitely was a good choice. Support Jasper

I tried the hot and cold caramel macchiato and it tasted amazing. Sticky cinnamon bun tasted brilliant. Its best when warm. And cheese croissant was good too. Didn’t got to try much more but whatever I had tasted pretty good. Was greeted with a smile when entered and service was quick. Have a nice vibe to the cafe and good seating area.

Lost lands Cafe. Went here for breakfast and we both had the Full Fruit Bowl and was it good! Sizable portion and served at the perfect cold temp. Ordered at the counter and the food was delivered to our table. We were the first customers of the day so service was good. The restaurant can hold about 25 and the outside a few more. Any other time of day there would be some wait time. The employees were quite personable and friendly. A very impressive restaurant. Highly recommend

Probably the best Cafe breakfast I’ve ever had, The Right Before My Berry Eyes breakfast bowl was absolutely delicious, flavoursome and colourful. For lunch I had a Mixed Green Salad with Chicken, set off on our way, where we found the perfect spot next to the Athabasca River. Again the salad hit the spot, delicious and flavoursome. Whatever you’re in the mood for, I’m sure Lostlands Cafe will have something fantastic for you to eat or drink. Service is fabulous, have patience, everything is made to order and it’s worth it 🥰🤩

This place has been on my radar for a while now. I walk in. Get lost in the beauty of the relaxing naturally curated atmosphere. And I love it. Today I wanted a French breakfast without a pastry. So something sweet. I got the beauty and the brie. It absolutely hit the spot. Wonderfully sweet and savory with a good amount of protein on a warm ciabatta. It was WAY MORE food then I expected. Thank you a memory made. So cute how they wrapped the pickle. Took me a while to figure out what it was.

The food was great! Full of flavour and melts in your mouth. Would definitely recommend their “Three Blind Rice Bowl” and the “Ham Savory Croffle”. The crew was above and beyond nice, the owner also reached out to make sure our food were good. 10/10
Angelo L — Google review
Lovely cafe with many thoughtful touches from the decor to the plating and drink presentation. Prices very reasonable for a holiday place. Stopped in right as they opened so had the place to myself. Very inviting environment. Clearly a lot of thought put into the decor. Keep an eye out for the whimsical mounted things and cute flower holders. Had the breakfast sando on ciabatta. Tastes amazing and the presentation is a+. I almost didn't want to eat it bc it looked so nice 😅 Mochacinno was very nice, flavorful and not too sweet. Served with a compostable lid I've never seen before and a chocolate covered coffee bean. Couldn't resist getting a cinnamon roll to go. Even the music was great. Light hearted and playful. I was dancing and singing along while I waited (briefly) for my food Highly recommended. Will be back

Nestled in the heart of Jasper, the SnowDome Coffee Bar is a delightful gem that has been captivating locals and visitors alike for over 13 years. This unique café, cleverly situated within a laundromat, offers an inviting atmosphere where you can enjoy exceptional espresso drinks alongside friendly service. The SnowDome embraces creativity with its quirky setup, combining coffee culture with laundry convenience—perfect for multitasking travelers!
This is a great coffee shop to enjoy a break during the day. It has a unique and fun environment by sharing space with a laundromat. There are comfortable couches as well as a decent amount of seating to use. The coffee was good and reasonably priced, and overall this is a great coffee shop.

Exactly how I think va laundry store should be. Many outlets, comfy furniture, and a cafe with tasty coffee, like really tasty coffee. Friendliness was not a priority for the barista that day, but as long as the coffee is good, I don't care.
Felix — Google review
Unique setting. A little coffee shop in the laundromat. There is a shower room here as well. Great coffee with fresh beans. Definitely recommend. However, i didn't try their cake/ pastry.
Fiona M — Google review
This place seemed like a coffee shop frequented by local people because there is some information posters. The bear coffee felt more delicious perhaps because of the latte art. What surprised me the most while I was at the cafe was seeing the owner cleaning the inside of each washing machine. If I stay here for a long time and have to do laundry, I will do it in a place that is kept so clean! A store I would recommend for many reasons!

What a lovely place! We went to do laundry and the woman working there was super helpful and incredibly happy, smiling ear to ear. 😄 She was also delighted to make me a delicious coffee too! Best laundromat I have ever been to!

Ice cream shop
"Grandma's Place" in Jasper National Park is a must-visit for ice cream lovers. The variety of flavors available is impressive, and the homemade ice cream is rich, creamy, and not overly sweet. Despite some negative reviews about the lack of free samples, visitors highly recommend trying out the delicious flavors such as lemon raspberry, smores, peanut butter nutella, chocolate cherry, and mint chocolate raspberry. The friendly staff and charming location add to the amazing vibes of this place.
At first, I thought this ice cream place would be just like the rest, but it turned out way better than I expected. They have a huge variety of flavors, and the quality is really good. I spotted the matcha flavor right away and was curious, but I hesitated because I wasn’t sure if it would live up to my expectations. Boy, was I wrong—it’s hands down the best matcha ice cream I’ve ever had. The flavor isn’t watered down like some brands; you can really taste the matcha, and it’s perfectly balanced—not too bitter at all. Overall, I highly recommend this spot. It’s a bit on the pricey side, but the scoops are generous, so it’s worth it!!
Alyana S — Google review
I recently visited Grandma’s Ice Cream in Jasper. By the name, I expected it to be a well-known spot, and they did have a lot of flavor options. We tried the Java Oreo and Chocolate Chip Munk flavors, and both were quite good. However, the experience was completely ruined by the rude staff. Both the person who served us and the cashier were extremely impolite. Instead of politely explaining how their ordering system works (where you pick the size first and then the flavor), we were met with a dismissive attitude and even told, “I really don’t care which flavor you get, just tell me what size you need.” While the ice cream itself was nice, the rude behavior made the visit unpleasant. At a tourist destination like Jasper, you’d expect friendly service, not this
Manasi — Google review
Should have read the reviews before walking into this place. Ice cream is pretty basic, not at all creamy, could feel the ice in every bite. It is still in business because it is after touristy spot.
Nick — Google review
First, they don’t do sampling—odd for an ice cream place, especially when you’re paying almost $10 for a single scoop. The customer service was unfriendly, with zero warmth or welcome. The biggest red flag? My waffle cone had dry glue stuck on it, likely from the wrapper, and they still handed it over like that. How is that even acceptable for something people are going to eat? Skip this place!
Lucy J — Google review
What an amazing place. A lot of unique flavours and all were dense in taste. They should open an outlet in all major cities across canada.
Rajat K — Google review
Expensive but ice ceam was pretty good. Maple syrup is very good. Coffee flavours are a bit disappointing.
Joon P — Google review
The aged gentlemen was extremely rude. Do not come here. We went to Grandma Ice Cream to try their ice cream and support a local shop. When we entered, there were no other customers, just an aged gentleman and a younger guy working with him. Since it was our first time and there were so many flavors to choose from, I politely asked for a recommendation. To my surprise, the aged gentleman rudely responded, pointing toward a board that wasn’t even visible when you first walk in, and said, “Can you look over there?!” His tone and attitude were very unwelcoming. As a customer, especially in a small business, I expected kindness and a willingness to help, not to be treated like an inconvenience. I now understand why many people are hesitant to come here. If the goal is to attract and keep customers, this is definitely not the way to do it. To the aged gentleman: please learn to treat customers with respect. To the younger staff member: I feel sorry that you have to work in this kind of environment. I truly hope you don’t pick up the same negative attitude. Even though I was rudely approached, I still purchased ice creams to support the business. But honestly, this shop does not deserve to stay open unless the behavior changes. After reading other reviews, I see that my experience is not unique. Sadly, those negative reviews were right.

Scoops & Loops in Jasper is a beloved tradition for families visiting the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Despite its simple charm, this ice cream shop offers an extensive selection of flavors that keeps kids coming back. Visitors often grab a cone and head to the nearby park to savor their treats. The generous scoops of rich ice cream and variety of cone options make it a popular spot for locals and tourists alike.
While exploring Jasper, our family was craving a sweet treat and Scoops & Loops was the perfect stop. We tried a mix of flavors including bubblegum, cotton candy, and cherry cheesecake, and each one was absolutely delicious. The ice cream was rich, flavorful, and served with a smile. It was the perfect way to end a beautiful day in the mountains. We will definitely be returning on our next trip to Jasper.

Has a nice selection of ice cream to choose from. Friendly staff and the scoops and prices are not the best but ok. My only complaint would be that there bubble gum ice cream is not the real ones but overall my i was left satisfied. Would recommend
BrownTigerz T — Google review
Right by the Post Office this is the BEST ice cream spot in Jasper, lots of selection of flavours, HUGE cones (I get two scoops of Reese Peanut Butter Cups in a chocolate sugar cone. They also have a Nanaimo bar flavor that I have not seen elsewhere). Nice to see they employ local kids which we rarely see anymore, they also have soft ice cream. 👍
Joel B — Google review
As we travel, we always stop for ice cream and local places. This was a nice stop. Staff was very nice. We loved our cones that we got. They had a wide variety of cones but we picked our standard sugar cone.
Donna S — Google review
It’s a zero star place . Disappointing and Disrespectful Experience I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at this ice cream shop was truly upsetting. The staff were shockingly rude and dismissive, showing clear disrespect toward certain customers. What’s worse, the manager—who appeared to be Chinese—was overheard instructing staff not to assist people waiting in line. It felt targeted and discriminatory, which is completely unacceptable. There was no opportunity to explore flavors or ask questions. Instead, the staff were pushy, impatient, and made the entire experience feel hostile. I’ve never encountered such poor service in my life, and I strongly urge others to avoid this place at all costs. Jasper has plenty of amazing ice cream spots—this is not one of them. Save your time, money, and your dignity.
Muthu S — Google review
🚫 1/5 — Outrageously Rude and Discriminatory Service This was hands down the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. The staff at this ice cream shop were not just rude—they were blatantly disrespectful, and their behavior seemed deliberately targeted toward certain customers. It was appalling to witness. The manager, who appeared to be Chinese, was overheard telling staff not to assist people waiting in line. That’s not just bad service—it’s discriminatory and unacceptable. Customers were ignored, rushed, and denied the chance to explore options. The staff were pushy, impatient, and made it clear that some people simply weren’t welcome. I left feeling insulted and deeply disappointed. No one should be treated this way, especially in a city as diverse and inclusive as Vancouver. There are countless other ice cream shops that offer great service and treat people with basic respect—this is absolutely not one of them. Avoid this place at all costs. It’s not just bad—it’s offensive.
Meenakshi V — Google review
The ice-cream was just terrible and of very poor quality. We ordered two scoops in a cup. Pistachio and Lemon Sorbet. The flavors were just not there. We're used to eating ice cream of high quality from Italian ice cream shops. Scoops and Loops should buy better products if they want their customers to come back for more...
Rohan M — Google review
I had a frustrating experience with a rude staff member who rushed my kids and didn’t allow them to choose their flavor. I recommend exploring other ice cream shops instead. The flavors are average and the portion sizes are quite small.

BeaverTails Jasper is a must-visit for those with a sweet tooth. These Canadian pastries are hand-stretched and fried, made with whole wheat flour and dairy-free by default, but can be ordered without butter upon request. The cinnamon sugar blend and apple cinnamon flavors are reportedly dairy-free as well. This iconic sweet treat has gained popularity all over Canada and is definitely worth trying while in Jasper.
I tried the maple&BBQ hotdog and the banana one. It's really good and a new flavor to me. We're all enjoy it. Thanks for the nice greet from the cashier, leaving us a good experience in Jasper.

Stopped in after having a nearby lunch. Thought this would satisfy my sweet tooth, but it did not. Like most advertising, this did not look as good as the signs or menu. Essentially, it is deep fried dough, and then topping are added. Asked the server for a recommendation, and he suggested the Avalanche, which is crushed pieces of Skor candies, on top of a cheesecake frosting. Unfortunately, it was a bit tasteless and very greasy. After a few small bites I ended up tossing it out. I could not get anyone else interested in trying it. Not a place that I would recommend.

BeaverTails in Jasper is always a sweet stop! The service was excellent—friendly and quick. I went with the classic BeaverTail, my personal favourite, and it did not disappoint—crispy, warm, and delicious as always. The views from the location are beautiful, making it a perfect treat while strolling along the promenade. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, it’s a must-try experience in Jasper!
Lina H — Google review
We tried this place and were very disappointed. While it looks nice from the outside, the inside is unhygienic and poorly managed. Staff handle everything without gloves—the same person takes orders, packs pastries, and rolls dough with bare hands. Our pastries were a complete mess, stuck to the paper and falling apart. For a tourist destination like Jasper, where people come from all over the world, this level of quality and hygiene is unacceptable. They seriously need to step up their standards.
Biju V — Google review
Great service by Ahmed. First time eating a beaver tail, and poutine. We enjoyed it.

Halal poutine available. Stopped by BeaverTails Jasper and decided to try their poutine — and wow, what a great choice! The fries were perfectly crispy, the gravy rich and flavorful, and the cheese curds had that authentic squeaky bite you hope for in a proper poutine. It was hearty, delicious, and exactly what you want after exploring Jasper. Special thanks to Raiyan, our host, who went above and beyond to make the experience memorable. Super friendly, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about making guests feel at home. His energy added so much warmth to the visit. Highly recommend both the poutine and the hospitality — can’t wait to be back!

I was so excited to try Beavertails again since my last visit to the Banff one in 2016. Instead I got a paper thin oily crust that was practically see-through. I thought maybe I had remembered them wrong, but no it was just a cheap and nasty shop scrimping on batter. The shop was also kinda dirty. I do not recommend this store.
