Coco Fried Chicken Granville may initially appear to be just another fast-food spot nestled in a strip mall, but it offers much more than meets the eye. Located south of Edmonton's bustling core, this eatery is a go-to destination for those on the hunt for delicious and affordable fried chicken. The menu features classic fried chicken options as well as an enticing twist with their Korean Fried Chicken, which can be enhanced with a signature sweet and spicy sauce that adds an exciting flavor profile.
First time ordering from this restaurant and enjoyed every moment of it. We walked in and ordered from a younger guy, who was friendly, and provided great service. We ordered the #4 - 22 piece half and half family meal. It was ready pretty quickly.
Everything we ate, from the chicken, onion rings, and more, was very tasty, hot, and fresh. It was very satisfying and we have no complaints.
Definitely recommend this establishment and will eat here again in the future.

Used to love this place but something definitely changed. When we got our Soy Garlic chicken, it looked undercooked, as if the oil was too high or they put too much batter on it. Feels like this place fell off which sucks because I used to love coming here
The taste changed, and the barrel is too thick and overcooked. The chicken was pretty valuable, but I tasted bitter now. I won't buy it again.
Used to love the soy garlic chicken here but seems more watery then before and the soy garlic does not even have enough sauce to really have much flavor like why so stingy on the soy garlic sauce the ammount I got was just puthetic
First time ordering from them. I wanted to try everything so I tried calling but no one was answering so I ordered through Door Dash and bought one 12pcs half & half (soy garlic & snow cheese) and one 6pcs sweet & hot.
A few minutes later, rather than calling me, they adjusted my order of the half & half to a 6pc sweet & hot and refunded the rest. When I got there in-person to confirm my order and asked about the adjustments made, they said that they ran out of the snow cheese. But rather than getting a 6pcs sweet & hot and 6pcs soy garlic, my whole order was sweet & hot. Very disappointed :(
Extremely kind people and the chicken is awesome by the person that requested it. . Bought it for someone the lives in Kamloops. It's her favorite chicken, Snow Cheese. The lady that served me was fantastic. Definitely try it out.

Food/Drinks: good tasting chicken that's not dried out. Batter is not too thick or greasy. Highly recommend the sweet and hot not to sure about the snow chicken (it is more sweet than cheesy fyi). Decent amount of food for the price.
Service: you do everything over the counter. There's some seating and tables but you need to order and pick up your food at the counter.
Atmosphere: very open to the point it looks bare. Bit of seating here and there and the wood/ barn feel is interesting. More suited for to go then dine in.

The only chicken place that serves rice. I repeat, they serve rice. Asians need rice and chicken. A must try if ever you stop by in Edmonton. They serve it hot and of good quality. I will have to go back to try the spicy chicken and other sauces. The plain one was already good enough to consume. It's an ok place. Family friendly, too. Shout outs to their fries. Crispy and tasty. Can't wait to go back.

Talk about a culinary delight! Their menu is designed for sharing, and my hubby and I selected the half beef brisket, half fried chicken thighs, and coleslaw. The array of sauces is remarkable, and the bourbon sauce is my top choice.

I had the pulled pork burger with mac and cheese on the side. Got a little overwhelmed of the texture from the burger—I wish it was juicier and more flavorful even without the sauce. But overall, still a solid meal! I got really full 😮💨

Located off of Whytes Road, this place is serving up some delicious local meats, from brisket, ribs, pulled pork, etc they've got it all.
Their brisket was tender and flavorful.
The pork ribs were smokey, and crispy on the outside but tender on the inside.
We order a side of Mac and cheese and two large pickles. Both a great side dish that complement the meats.
Service was superb, friendly and efficient!

The name of the place literally says what they do best, MEAT.
We ordered a lb of Brisket and Full rack of BBQ Ribs. Both of them are so flavorful, and we especially the burnt on the ribs. The burnt smells really good, is crisp, and fravorful.
They also have 4 sauces you can add on your table, Bourbon, Cherry, Spicy, and Mustard. We tasted all and love the Spicy and Cherry.
House salad is also very good and go very well with their meats.
Highly recommended for smoked meat lovers.
Great place to come have supper with family or with friends. Excellent sharing plates of individual portions. Will be coming here again.
Food was okay overall. Everything was barely warm. Maybe would've been a bit better if it was hot.
I think the least favourite item between all of us was the brisket. Very dry. 0 fat, tough, cold. The gravy kind of helped.

SFC Seoul Fried Chicken is a popular fast food restaurant that offers a wide variety of flavors for their Korean-style fried chicken. They have gained great success since opening in February 2016, with their OG (Original Gangster) chicken serving as the base for all their delicious variations. Their crispy battered skin and tender chicken underneath make for a perfect combination. Some of the favorite flavors include Korean spicy barbecue, cilantro lime, onion lover, garlic soy, and golden Kari.
Definitely earned it's legendary status in the city many times over. Both in terms of value and taste, this is easily the best fried chicken place in the entire city.
One portion is big enough for two adults to share.
There's always a steady stream of folks at this location so be ready to wait for a little bit.

I've been here 3-5 times until today. Always satisfied because quality of food, reasonable price except today. I always order lil sandwich set with garlic soy sauce and fries. Firstly, it was come with big box, but changed half size of box. Last my visit here was one month ago, I don't know, they might be changed it. Next, I really like crispy chicken but it was saggy and 1/3 part crispy chicken skin was missing. Almost half of fries over cooked, so it was dark brown color and hard as rock, I couldn't eat it.🥲🥲 I don't know it's because of tip problem or not. I'm not the person, who put the review every dishes so when I was eating sandwich I just didn't think much about this but after saw this fries I think I need to mention about this.
This place is fantastic! the spicy Chipotle BBQ sauce is what dreams are made of.
The kale Cesar salad is a must everytime and I had the jalapeño fritter (didn't make it home for the pic 🤣) which i will order everytime I'm there from now on.
The only thing I would suggest with all the new sauces is to have a smaller sample pack of 4-5 sauces so we can try more. That may just be me wanting to try all the new ones.
All in all, it's the only place I buy fried chicken in the city now
Great little SFC location with some parking outside. Ordered the Big Seoul box set for take out. The Corn Jalapeño fritter was very good. It was big and did not taste oily. However, pesto macaroni was a bit bland albeit plentiful. It needed a bit of salt or seasoning. It was filling though. The Garlic Soy chicken was crispy and moist. It had large pieces which is always nice. Only wish that they had some sauce in a little cup for take out orders as the sauce comes off the chicken and sticks to the wax paper when transported. The sauce is really what makes it Korean style fried chicken. Also, food came out pretty quickly after ordering. Overall, SFC is always a great and pretty consistent spot for fried chicken takeout.
It’s not a sit down place because there’s not much place to sit, but it’s really delicious and the chicken is clean (no oily taste signifying clean oil). Their fries are also delicious.
Definitely a must try if you’re in the area.

We went to SFC Seoul Fried Chicken for dinner and ordered from the Individual Box Sets menu. We got the Big Seoul Set (4pcs) and chose Garlic Soy (heat tossed ) from the SFC Signature House Flavours. The set comes with Drumstick, Thigh, Wing and a Tender piece. The fried chicken was evenly tossed and throughly coated with the delicious sauce. We also chose Sweet Butter Cukes, Banana Corn Fritter and Ginger Ale that comes with the set. We sat outside on the bench to enjoy our meal. Everything tasted so delicious … the chicken was juicy and tender, the meat was moist and bursting with flavour! Yummylicious!
The portion of this dish is really amazing! I ate four meals by myself. Every bite is full of delicious food. The aroma of soy sauce and garlic is perfectly integrated. The taste is rich and unbalanced, and the aftertaste is endless.
I came in today with picture that my take out order last week was short. I was given tiny chicken strips counting as tenders. Today the person at the till gave no resolution and told me they wouldn't consider it because they couldn't verify it with the person working that day....yet I took pictures. She even had to correct the person today, so obviously it's an issue.
I come here often and that disregard and accusation that I was lying was unexcusable. They could have taken the information, date, followed up with the person on shift that day and offered some sort of resolution.

WOW POP CHICKEN offers a variety of delicious fried chicken options, with the soy garlic chicken being a standout favorite for many. Really good fried chicken. Not bad deals as I ordered the family meal deal which comes with 12 pieces of chicken (half and half), a box of fries and waffle. The owner gave me side of radish for free to try and he was very friendly. Also there are rice bowl dishes and others not solely fried chicken. I would go back!!

I ordered pickup from here recently. The atmosphere seemed enjoyable for dine-in and the lady was friendly. In terms of food, I got their 10 pieces half and half - Sweet and Spicy (Extra) and Soy Garlic. The pieces of chicken were large and flavourful/saucy. The sweet and spicy (extra) was quite distinct from other places in that it was quite spicy. The parts I didn’t like as much were that the pieces were quite differently sized from one another and a bit difficult to eat, that there were too much breading for my liking compared to other Korean Fried Chicken places, and that the meat was not as flavourful as expected (the sauce made up for it though)
Delicious Soy Garlic Chicken!
Although we tried both their regular fried chicken and the soy garlic, my personal favourite was the soy garlic. The sauce was perfect and the chicken was crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. The meat was well-seasoned as well! As for the regular chicken, it wasn’t as amazing but it wasn’t bad either! As for the mozzarella sticks, I was really satisfied with the amount, but found they were too salty.
The service was amazing and we were greeted by the staff with a warm smile from behind the counter. I gave the place a 4/5 because we dined in, but because they didn’t have plates of any sort, it was slightly difficult to share one box of chicken between three people and we had to eat on top of tissue paper - it was quite messy. Other than that both the food and service were great!

I’m pretty disappointed in my experience tonight. I had pretty high hopes because many of the images on reviews look great.
Fries — very, very soggy (see image), smaller portion size than I was expecting.
Boneless Chicken — flavor was decent, but breading was wasted because of how soggy it was. I imagine these probably taste super good when you can enjoy it when the breading is crispy. I’m not quite sure what I was expecting for portion size, so I guess I can’t be too critical toward that. But it would be great if the restaurant could explain portion sizes.
Mozzarella Sticks — Standard mozza sticks. But, as you might have guessed, soggy.
If I could make a recommendation to the restaurant it would be to invest in properly vented take-out containers. That would mitigate a lot of the issues.
I don’t think this experience is representative of this restaurant; maybe I’ll try doing a pick up order in the future to reduce time between dispatch and receipt of the food.
The chicken and boneless chicken are delicious. Very crispy, lots of flavours in the sauces and seasonings. Had boneless chicken with honey butter seasoning and 6 half and half chicken (soy garlic and sweet and spicy). The sides are fine, nothing to write home about. Would try again. Friendly owners running the shop.
Very tasty! Huge pieces. All tasted good but i didnt like the bubble that much because it was powdered. And that’s probably why you cant combine flavours. Very busy during the weekend, while i had dinner there... at least 8 ppl from SkipTheDishes appeared. So that will tell you how tasty it is!
It says people typically spend 15 min here. Want to know why? It’s because these people take pride in their food and make it fresh for you. Crispy fries, crispy chicken, friendly and funny.

Rob's Famous Fried Chicken is a beloved establishment that has been serving up delicious meals for over three decades, but unfortunately, it will be closing its doors soon. The chicken tenders are particularly noteworthy for their incredible flavor and generous portion size. While the hot option packs a spicy punch, there's also an extra hot level for those seeking an even bigger kick.
Malo was welcoming and answered our questions about the menu. This is our first time visiting and the experience was great. We were walking by the restaurant and the amazing smell got us to come in. It only got better from there. We ordered the drumstick and jumbo strip meal with fries and pickles. The meal was delicious and served hot. We look forward to visiting another time.

We came to try this place for the first time and it was okay. We ordered our food and had to wait like a half an hour until it was ready which was a little bit annoying. They said they forgot to put in my drumstick but they did give me a free extra chicken tender. We drove from the southwest so it was a 30-minute drive there and a 30-minute drive back and including the 30-minute wait for our food I don't know if I would drive back down there. Hopefully orders don't always take this long but I would definitely recommend ordering over the phone and picking it up so you don't have to wait so long. I think they also offer 10% off if you call and place your order.
The chicken was decent it didn't blow me away. We ordered chicken tenders and drumsticks meals. There was two of us that so we ordered two meals and one pop. It was around $50 dollars.
This place is more of a pickup place and not a dine-in place as they only have two small tables inside but they do have some tables outside which is nice.
The parking situation was a little bit tough because it was all taken on the street so we had to park on the side of the building but not sure if I was allowed to park there because it said it was for the other restaurant but we parked there anyways because there was nowhere else to park.
we all got the chicken sandwiches with original nashville spice and we all moved it, it was moist and flavorful it wasn't spicy at all, the fries were great as well, for beverages all they had was coke and water (wish they had more of a selection then that but what can you do...), the only thing is the amount of hollywood sauce was so little on the burgers that we all had to buy extra sauce on the side, we also tried the mini donuts.... they were just ok, nothing great, other then that it was great and we'll be back
We had the chicken sandwiches and fries. The best chicken burger I ever had, chicken is AMAZING and the fries wow. We ordered the chipotle sauce make sure to add it to the chicken (extra yummy). Definitely coming back here again
When you think of good fried chicken you think of the south. Ive had fried chicken all off the Deep South, and I can tell you Rob’s is right up there with Hattie B’s, Edleys and Jacks out of Tennessee. If you live in Edmonton or just visiting, this is a must. Don’t forget to get extra Hollywood sauce.
First, my son ordered 2 orders of chicken strips, cashier must not of heard him as he was given 1 order of drumsticks(which was wrong) and got 1 order of the strips(correct). So when my son got home and we seen so i shared mine. My daughter had the famous fries , she said it was good. Her boyfriend, Hes a 6'4 300lb guy and could only eat half chicken sandwich and 1 strip as he got full. He never got coleslaw with his chicken strip meal. So messing up and order and packaging, then 30 min ride home, creates disappointment. So thats why low score for service. The crunch, coating is real good, just wish there was more flavour to be able to eat on its own as we found it is like every other chicken place. The sauce tho.... mmmmm thats what takes this chicken to awesome. The sauce is a must have with anything. To bad there wasn't bite size pieces of the chicken. For us 4 people we give it a 4 out of 5

Meaty and perfectly cooked. I love the crispy batter. Not greasy but just subtle flavors that don’t take away from the actual chicken.

Ordered Rob’s Famous on Uber Eats. I would recommend taking advantage of the 2 for 1 deal on Uber. Got 2 orders of the 2 jumbo strips w fries for $22! For reference, the 2 jumbo strips are $15.50 in store (according to their menu online).
The chicken:
- it was perfectly moist & the original Nashville flavour was great (not spicy at all). I’ll definitely be ordering HOT next time!
- their signature sauce is tangy & a bit sweet. Loved it with the chicken & fries.
- French fries are well seasoned
Overall, great value ordering on Uber eats. I’ll definitely be stopping by the shop to check out the atmosphere, service, & try more chicken!

Came here for the first time and was so impressed!!! The staff were super kind and welcoming, they even threw in an extra gravy for free, which was such a nice surprise. Portions were big, and the chicken was fresh, crispy, and full of flavor. Took a little while to come out, but 100% worth it for how fresh it was. I’ll definitely be back!
Stopped around 2:45pm ish. I did have to ask them to turn the other screen on as only one was on and i never seen if there was chicken pieces for sale. All good tho. They were very friendly to a new person.
I ordered a $13 all in 3 piece chicken meal it came with spuds and a can of pop.
This chicken wasn’t greasy at all. It is chicken you eat with fingers so you do get some on you. But not like the other chain restaurants. The seasoning is great. The skin had a little bit of crisp to it. Wasn’t the crunch. But had that little to it. Still not soggy tho.
The spuds are fluffy and a little bit crispy. For me i prefer fries myself but if you like buttery fluffy sort of that dry potato thickness then these are for you. I did a takeaway and i used sour cream with my spuds just like at Northlands days with chive fries. Excellent boost to the fries.
Chicken leg was great. The thigh was great. I had a piece with all the white meat from the back area i think. Wasn’t the breast but for me had a more dry taste still not greasy. But you know. Have a look at photos for reference.
Although the chickens seem smaller compared to the cuts few months ago, the service is still good. And they have new table settings. They also have sofas for group , for 2 and for 1. Looks cozy and great.
Ps: I’m also wondering because the spuds for 3 pcs chicken are so little.

Fried chicken was amazing! A bit of a wait but because they’re cooking the chicken fresh! Staff are friendly! Parking can be difficult because it’s beside a grocery store. They could improve their packaging! But expect just aluminum tray covered with aluminum foil with holes. Other than that I recommend this place for tasty fried chicken!

i had high hopes for this location after loving the other ralph’s locations but this place way over cooked my chicken after we waited 15 minutes for it. so over cooked i can’t even eat the breading it’s just falling off. I got a stomach ache shortly after eating this chicken followed by diarrhea which seeing how crispy/dry the outside of it was i believe it was cooked at too high of a temperature where the outside overcooked and the inside was undercooked.
Should have went to the other location… i won’t be back to this one.
Definitely check out the other ralph’s it’s 100% better…

Before 1pm there is only one person working so it can take a while to get your order. I now go exclusively after 1pm.

Flirty Bird is an amazing all-around chicken spot, definitely one of my favourites in the city for a chicken strip meal. The seasoning mix is great, and the spice levels are punchy. I particularly enjoy Flirty Bird as opposed to others as they use a generous amount of seasoning without making it overpowering. The sauce for the strips is amazing and compliments the seasoning mix great. The slaw is perhaps a little bland - but provides a great fresh contrast from the spicy tenders. Overall I would highly recommend - one of the only chicken spots in Edmonton that I find myself consistently returning to.
Have driven by this place for a couple years now. I'm finally pulled the trigger. We both got the Sando which was a decent sandwich with the mild heat. I feel like the bratting could be a little better and you can tell it sat for a while before being placed on the bun as it was a old trench knot a fresh out crunch. Overall though 7 out of 10 for the bird. Would return again
Had high expectations for this place but it didn’t meet the standard.
First off, we arrived on a Saturday at 11:45. There was no one at the counter or in the kitchen. Ringing the bell had someone pop their head out with a “I’ll be right with you”.
15 minutes later he finally came out and took our order. We ordered the Flirty Poutine and 2 Sandos. Mild sauce because I wasn’t sure how hot it would be. Definitely needs a medium next time as I barely tasted any spice.
I really have to comment about the tip function. How can they put the tip function on before you’ve even had any service. They didn’t have a tip jar for after the service leaving you with “tip now and hope for the best or don’t tip”. I really dislike establishments that do that for counter service.
After 35 minutes of waiting the food finally came out. The person apologized for the long wait but it was a serious long wait.
The food looked absolutely divine. The flirty poutine was great but they put it in the plate with that thin wrapper which disintegrated after a bit of time.
The chicken sandwich was humongous and looked really delicious. However, the ratios for the chicken are really off. They threw in the entire chicken breast in there and it’s weird but it was too much chicken in some parts and barely enough on others. The thinner portions were so crispy it bordered on “too crunchy”.
They need more staff behind the counter and also need to pound that chicken so that it’s not a giant lump in the centre.
I wouldn’t recommend this place unless you are just wanting to try all the different Nashville type chicken establishments.
Had a spicy little lunch date with Flirty Bird today—and yep, the food lives up to the name. We ordered The Flirty Poutine and The Sando, and both were seriously tasty. Went with Mild Flirt because we weren’t sure how hot things get around here, and turns out it was barely a blush. So if you like your chicken with a kick, don’t be shy—go bolder on that flirt scale.
Now, let’s talk poutine. It came on a plate lined with paper (like the rest of the meals), which is… not ideal when you’re drowning those fries in delicious sauce. The paper didn’t stand a chance. Pretty sure I ate some of it—extra fiber?
One more thing—those glasses labeled Made in Russia? Bit of a turn-off in today’s world. Maybe swap them out next time you give the place a refresh (which, let’s be honest, those walls could really use).
All in all, a fun, flavorful stop—and I’ll definitely be back to turn up the heat next time!
Picked up lunch to go. Tasty food, and quick service. Would recommend they put the slaw in a divided container, as it made the chicken strips a bit soggy by the end of my meal. Also the slaw lacked flavour. Otherwise it was great, and the pickles are delish!
we ordered from doordash today for the second time from here, and the chicken was not cooked or fried properly and it was very floury and battery. i swear the first time it was similar but not to this degree. do yourself and your wallet a favour and go anywhere else, this is just overpriced for below mediocre food.
I ordered 2 chicken tenders which come with coleslaw but somehow ended up with four coleslaw and no chicken. Last I checked, this was a chicken spot, not a salad bar. Overall i give the food 1/10. The chicken is tasteless and non existent and 20 dollars for 4 coleslaw is a bit expensive in my opinion.

This is the #1 fried chicken place in town. On my first visit I tried 3 different orders to choose the best one. They were all great, the second time was way better than the first, and the service is great and welcoming.
I recently tried Kokoriko Fried Chicken in Terwillegar and was really impressed! The chicken was crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor — exactly what I was craving. The staff were friendly and the service was quick, even during a busy time. The sides, especially the spring rolls and fried dumplings, complemented the meal perfectly. The restaurant itself was clean and cozy, making it a great spot for a casual meal. Make sure to check their combos and platters which is super good deals! Definitely coming back soon!
We ordered the half fried and half yangnyeom and it was good. It was the closest to what we always ate in korea. The only thing was some of the pieces were wings which kind of was disappointing since we ordered chicken and not wings. The fried chicken could have been crispier , but still highly recommend if you are looking for original Korean chicken.

Highly recommend trying their Tteokboki and the Cheesling Chicken. The food is always 15000% and the service is even better. The owners, Ethel and Scott, and their staff go above and beyond every time we’re in there. We’re from Calgary and visit Edmonton often, but this became a must stop by in Edmonton for us. Friendly staff, unique food. The staff was great in explaining us different options of food and the kind of sauces that goes along with it. The sauces were a little bit too sweet for our liking, but it was kind of out fault. Instead of asking them to toss the chicken in the sauce, it's better to ask for sauce on the side. That way you are in charge of the amount of sauce. We also had their milk bubble tea which was really really nice and well recommended. We also had their deep fried shrimps which tasted great. Korean dumplings were good too. Lastly, all the food in their restaurant is Halal. Overall really nice experience and we will come back again.

Our favourite dishes here are the Gumbotine, any of the Jambalayas or Po’ Boys, Fried eggplant, Sweet Potato Fries! (which is basically most of their menu) Recommend the patio when it’s summer.

Dadeo is truly an unforgettable restaurant.
The interior is filled with vintage charm, and the music — like “Dream a Little Dream of Me” from the 1930s–40s era — adds a wonderful sense of history. I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak, and the sweet potato fries completely amazed me. For just a couple of extra dollars, this side is absolutely worth it, because the flavors linger long after. The chef puts real heart into the cooking: everything is handmade, the salad dressing is their own secret recipe, and the sweet potato fries are hand-cut, uneven in thickness. That means with the same frying time, you get different textures and flavors in a single dish — such a rare delight!
It was a little regretful that I had to rush back to Vancouver, not knowing when I’ll return to Edmonton again. But one thing is certain: the next time I come, I will definitely return to Dadeo.
Wow. Where has this gem been? The food here is amazing! Not a fan of sweet potato fries, but they were so delicious! The key lime pie was sooo tasty! Would come here just to eat a pie or two! And for those who love vanilla coke, they have it here! The staff are super friendly and quick to serve you. Would recommend coming here for sure!
Didn't have a clue what we wanted but got exactly what we hoped for ... a cool booth (hot as jalapeños outside) plus a delicious meal of steamed mussels loaded in white wine sauce with garlic & dipping bread. Also shared a salad with cajun shrimp. The service was quick & so friendly! Just do it - no regrets for certain!

This place has been one of my favourites in Edmonton for decades. The food is always impeccable, the staff is friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere is like entering a nostalgic realm of calm and Cajun spices! 😄
The po’boys can’t be beat, but the star of the show is always the sweet potato fries… they haunt my dreams!! Never eaten anything so flavourful and decadent. An honourable mention is the jalapeño jelly they serve before the main dish, absolutely delicious!!
I can promise you won’t be disappointed in DaDeO’s if you’ve never been. It’s an experience all its own.
Had the blackened chicken poboy, which was so tender and flavorful! Upgraded to the sweet potato fries which were also delicious. My partner also ordered the bayou jambalaya and really enjoyed it.
We go here every time we are in Edm. Even if we aren't hungry. Pls don't tell anyone tho - it can be super busy. Have a Chili Beer - Alley Kat makes it just for them and it compliments the food exactly. As good as it gets!

Singapore Noodles is a bit too curry-ish for me but it tastes good! It is very spicy so you would love it if you love spicy food.
The Nasi Goreng is an Indonesian fried rice. It tastes really good and it is very suitable for children! :)

Its been a couple years since I've been in and wish I remembered to go more often. The food is soon good. So much flavour and the texture is amazing. I went with my meat eating friend and she said the texture of the Mongolian chicken is spot on for real meat. I even had my husband eat my leftovers when he got home and said the same. This place is for vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters alike. They also have gluten free options. Defiantly don't sit on coming to Padmanadis, it's so good. The service is great too.
Visiting Edmonton from California, we weren’t sure what to expect in terms of vegan food. This restaurant blew us away. The flavors were delicious and creative, the best vegan Asian food I’ve had tied with a small restaurant in Santa Monica, California. We loved all three dishes we tried, and will be heading back for brunch on our way out of town. Their staff was well informed and helpful, there is a separate gluten-free menu, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. This is a must try!
Love this restaurant. I enjoy 😊 coming to both this location and, the south side one. Surprisingly, each has a different menu. This location is bigger as is their menu options. Went to their monthly buffet and it was amazing. The selection of foods they offered was great. So were the desserts. Best ginger beef I've ever had! Much prefer it to actual beef. They had vegetable dishes. A lot of good tofu dishes. Their lemon shrimp is amazing as well as their rice pudding and everything! Highly recommend.

Amazing Atmosphere! The price for a group of over 15 people was only $300. Which was amazing. We ordered soooo much food and it was sooo good. Highly recommend. The rendang curry and the ginger beef was amazing! If you are vegan or vegetarian please go there! They pay really good attention to your dietary needs as well and made something special for my grandpa who has some special dietary needs.

A local gem, service and food both on par! It’s cheap, affordable and delicious. I ordered bison chili and paired it with a Merlot wine. My boyfriend had Mac and cheese and an ipa beer both were amazing!
Very popular spot for brunch or patio drinks. Can be tough to get a table, especially for groups. Service is attentive, fast, and friendly. They have an excellent selection of drinks and a great patio on which to enjoy them.
On this occasion I got the spicy burger with fries, and a polyrhythm brown ale. Beer was well poured and perfect temp. Burger was just ok. Fries were cooked perfectly.
I found the brioche bun excessively greasy on the outside and the burger patty too thick and juicy for a brioche bun in general. The bun couldn’t stand up. Also, this is just preference, the patty is heavily spiced, which isn’t my thing. Lastly, I like the burger to be a bit charred on the outside and this one just wasn’t. Almost as if the grill wasn’t quite up to temp.
Overall, great spot for a drink and friendly service on a nice day. IMO, not a go-to for burgers.
We bike by here all the time in the summer and this place is always busy, so we always wondered what it was like. Yesterday we stopped in for brunch (on a Monday) and we both had the special, the breakfast burrito 🌯. It was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere, the service and the food were excellent. All the other food that came out as well looked delicious and well prepared. I do see reviews saying that sometimes there's a wait time. I believe if you have to wait a bit here it's worth the wait. Our food came out very fresh and hot. Thats what I would expect. Definitely will be stopping in again. We also heard the cinnamon bun was really good. They were sold out so we went to the coffee shop upstairs cause they have the same ones. It was good. Don't expect it to be a typical cinnamon bun cause its not. I would say don't expect them to be the best you've had.

Delicious brunch! Portions are large and prices are fair. Service is friendly and it was fairly busy on the Sunday morning we went. The wait was around 15-20 minutes.
The chicken and waffles were very good. I got the syrup on the side instead of directly poured on . The waffles are not too sweet and the chicken breading is not too thick-- it was perfect :-)
The breakfast sandwich and wrap also looked delicious.
The cinnamon bun truly was excellent and it is quite large and fluffy.

Honestly for all the hype that I always heard about this place, I didn’t think Workshop could live up to it but dinner here was a complete 100🙌🙌
As everyone says, you MUST try the arancini to start! The crispy brussel sprouts were also delicious and a great size to share. We tried two of their drinks which were alright, a bit more on the sweeter side than I’d like.
All the mains were delicious, arrived timely, and offered a refreshing take on classic dishes. Bonus for the local souring they do and just how well the food BOTH tastes and looks awesome. Place is also a vibe and staff are friendly and accommodating! Definitely check this place out when you have the chance🔥
This was my first time trying out The Workshop Eatery. We loved the atmosphere and the service was top notch.
I had the Smoked Short Ribs, this dish was a lot of food and the flavor was just right, this definately was this hit at the table. We also had the mussles, the flavor on this was very different, if you like spicy you might want to try this out.
We decided to take home the cheesecake gor dessert. We both absolutely loved it! We want to come back and try more of the food! Great place!
Tonight we had the pleasure of doing the Chef's Table at The Workshop Eatery. It was truly amazing! Each plate was paired perfectly with wine, the entire experience was incredible!

Heading into this place was excellent. My boyfriend and I came in without a reservation, not knowing Saturday nights tend to be pretty busy. We were able to sit at the bar and our bartender, Harry, was absolutely amazing. We had their pickle ceasers ($11 for 1oz, $14 for 2oz) as he noticed we loved our pickles, Harry even gave us extra garnish. Which made me even happier! As I create my own cocktails, the ceaser tasted exactly like my own, and I couldnt get enough of it.
We ordered the Workshop Pickle Jar for our appetizer; it was fantastic, great selection of pickled vegetables. Although, I wasn’t too keen on the pickled mushrooms, they were interesting, just not my favourite. For our entree, we decided on the Duck Duck, and the Mussels. The Duck Duck had these sweet mashed potatoes, which was something I’ve never tried before, and I loved every bit of the flavours they created. As for the mussles, I couldn’t get enough of the sauce. It was so creamy. I could have drank it as a soup. But didn’t want to be so gluttonous hahahaah. Anyways, this place is definitely worth while, obviously on the pricer side but WOW. Definitely worth it.
The soup of the day was a tomato soup thing and was good yet a bit spicy. Our other things were good though. Our service was pretty good except she was a bit creepy to me yet she was nice over all would recommend good lunch spot.
Went here on a Friday evening and loved the vibes! Service is very welcoming and breaks down based on dietary restrictions. I tried the cabbage and my friend ordered the hen, both of us enjoyed it. The potatoe chips with the onion dips were also very delicious. Deifinitely would try this place

I didn't have high hopes for the lettuce wedge salad with chicken. Not was I wrong. The butter lettuce was crisp sweet, well assembled. The breast of chicken was what all chicken breasts should look like. Moist, substantial, grilled to perfection. The dressing was an appropriate amount, not swimming in the bowl. The current owner, Kinman Quon, started working at The Lingnan when he was just 17 years old and continues to run the restaurant with his family.
Exceptional service and food. Went for dinner with family. Tried the buffet. It was really good. Also, reasonable price. Highly recommend. Very calming vibe. Good place to have a realaxed meal.

Service was superb! My friend and I went to try the buffet and everything was delicious & fresh- not too heavy! Best Chinese in Edmonton hands down, we were waiting for more fried rice and were a little impatient- so we sat back down and then one of the servers came and brought us a small plate to our table when it was ready! The little dessert they give you too is delicious, I already loved fried buns but this was a game changer because I’ve never had it with cinnamon sugar- and it tasted exactly like mini doughnut! I took my wife out for her birthday to this restaurant. I don't usually go to Chinese restaurants as I never cared for the food, so needless to say when I told her we where we were going, she was shocked. As we arrived outside, we both looked at each other and were thinking of finding some other spot as this is not a very appealing part of town. We decided to walk in, and boy were we surprised. I can't say enough about this place. The food, the decor, the service, all more than exceeded any expectations. This restaurant was the first time I can honestly say I've ever enjoyed Chinese food. Had the buffet, and that was delicious. I noticed that they don't wait until the dish is empty, they are filling them right away. I also love that all the staff were in Chinese outfits, especially the hostess. She was wearing a traditional silk dress. Very elegant. I learned that this restaurant has been in their family 4 generations. This generation is doing the originals proud, including Marty, their son.
Went to celebrate our mom’s legacy at her favourite restaurant! Ordered dinner for 6 plus 2 more ppl and added 2 dishes. Gluten free for a few of us! Fresh, hot, delivered to the large round table with smiles! Our famous hostess came and sang a “b day” song with us ! Owner gentleman took our pic outside! I was in Edmonton for a couple days and tried The Lingnan at the Taste of Edmonton festival, so I had to come to the restaurant. I absolutely loved everything about it!
The Lingnan an old school garishly decorated Chinese restaurant that has been open for 80 years. The food was delicious, the decor was amazing, and the service was attentive and friendly. I had a also had nice chat with the owner/manager (I didn't catch his name) who was really nice and gracious.
If I'm ever back in Edmonton, this is the first restaurant I visit!
Despite calling right before close they were happy to take our order and even managed to rush the delivery for us. They made a point to call to give us an updated delivery time and after a long day of work we were extremely grateful. On top of the great service the food was fantastic!! Easily the best chicken balls we’ve ever had, and everything overall was really good. Amazing, 10/10

Amy is the best, I love how she always checks on everyone and asking us how is the food. Food is amazing, ended up having 3 servings just because how good the food is. We were there to celebrate one of my relatives birthday last month and she let us stay in this private dining room and it's only like 15 of us where we just have the entire room to ourselves. 10/10 would recommend

Amazing food! Amazing service! This was my first time at Northern Chicken and it did not disappoint. The chicken was the crispiest and tastiest I’ve ever had in my life! The Dorito Mac and Cheese was life changing and the smashed potatoes were unbelievably good! We had the buttermilk pie for desert and I can’t believe how delicious such a simple thing can be. Every moment of my visit was amazing. I can’t wait to go back! Don’t miss out on eating at this Gem of a place!

Another YEG hit! We were in Edmonton for an appointment and saw on Twitter that Northern Chicken comes highly recommended so we thought we'd check it out. First of all, the atmosphere was like cupids arrow right into my husband's heart with its throwback 90's rap music and memorabilia tastefully placed throughout. It's a relaxed atmosphere where everyone is there to eat great food and have a good time. The staff at this location are all fabulous - they are authentic and that goes a long way.
The food - omg. The food is bang on. I mean, fried chicken is something we have maybe once or twice a year and this was worth the drive. Can we get a Northern Chicken in YYC? 😁
The corn bread is big - definitely a sharable size, unless you love it so much (like we did) that sharing was tough. Hubby got the hot chicken with a side of smashed garlic potatoes and was very impressed. I opted for the honey hot with a nice balance of sweet and spicey (not as spicey as I expected and that's totally fine as I didn't bring my antacids). I also added a side of the dill flavoured potato salad (delish)! The coleslaw was good, I never know what to expect when ordering coleslaw - this was crispy, fresh and had a light sauce - exactly what I like.
The best part was obviously the chicken. So fresh and flavored perfectly. You can still taste the chicken and it's not swimming in sauce. Breaded and fried to perfection where the outside has a crunch and the inside is nice and juicy.
Plenty of food selections, cocktails and a great beer list too!

Chicken was great - very juicy. Overall best chicken I've had in Edmonton! Good menu to select from. I had the hot and mustard flavors. Also had the mini sandwiches and a large order of the mac and cheese. I will definitely be back.

The cornbread was dripping in honey and butter. As I bit into it I could hear my doctor chiding me for my excess in my future appointment. It was soooo good though. The chicken is very crispy and moist inside. The corn hole were cooked to perfection with a dip that was pleasantly spicy. Make sure to get the cornbread!

Daily special was epic, the hot brown. Fried chicken also excellent. Craft beer was from all over Alberta and great. Lots of TVs and sports. Really felt at home, fried chicken was excellent. Overall a real honest gem on the local food scene. Will be back but honestly can't. Because I'll have a heart attack after of the delish food I will eat.
Be prepared to spend more on the chicken than KFC, but you get what you pay for. The chicken is crispy and excellently flavored.

Very disappointed regarding to high expectation from review in google and too higher price than expected. The worst ramen I have tried in Edmonton : I am a big fan did try a lot of places around the city. Bland pork ( I order pork shoulder which I read review as someone suggest to order over pork belly ) and boil egg ( not enough marinated or none) , not tasty and flavorful broth, a lot of MSG . cheap noodle, pricey and not authentic ( I guess business run by Chinese or Vietnamese not Japanese ) I tried other place that cheaper but way better than this restaurant. Or other that same or higher price but flawless experience. I can taste and feel a lot of MSG here. I tried black garlic ramen which people in review recommend but it is nothing good as I said “ not enough seasoning, marinated or flavour”
Takoyaki is the one made me wanna come here which also disappointed ( saw it’s got some good review. Small balls , outside less to not crispy and have no seaweed on top. Price that show in picture or online review is not real. It shown $8 for takoyaki but actually 13.50 for 8 balls and 19.50$ for ramen which only shown 15.95$ online. I don’t know why don’t they correct this or leave it to misunderstand or trap customers with cheaper price. Menu in restaurant all hasn’t shown price , you need to scan QR code to see the menu with price. Also be aware as they only accept debit card or cash ! which is ridiculous ! With the price and these bad experience … first, last and one only . Only 2 things I like are they quite comfortable &spacious restaurant unlike some ramen place that is very small and they have sesame served for you to mash before put in your ramen but I didn’t taste and smell sesame after put in ramen because the oil or msg in broth is over power the sesame taste.
Tried the ramen here and found it a bit bland for the price. The service wasn’t the best, though the ambiance was okay. This isn’t meant to be a negative review, but more of an honest one — there’s definitely room for improvement, especially with the food. Hopefully, feedback like this helps them grow. On a positive note, the green soda with ice cream was the highlight — really refreshing and unique!
It was my first time to try the Ramen. Great experience. After you order the food, it comes out very fast. I like the fired chicken, very juicy but a little oily. The ramen soup tastes good, the Norfolk portion is good enough. Back bacon meat is so yummy. Overall, it is nice to eat with friends and family.

I got the gluten free ramen called White Miso, it was delicious! A bit on the bland side. I am not celiac, but am sensitive to gluten, and cannot eat wheat based noodles. I added a half egg to my ramen. While I liked the White Miso - next time I think I'll just grab a regular ramen and ask for gluten free noodles. However if you are very sensitive or are celiac, the White Miso option was nice and flavourful!
My partner got the Spicy Goma, and he enjoyed it, said it was a solid 7.5/10. I had a taste of the broth, it wasn't crazy spicy, but that's perfect to me!
Fantastic ramen place, it's an easy 5 stars! The food is delicious and the portion sizes are pretty big. The service is amazing, the lady serving us was very friendly, it was great talking to her. Well worth the price (which isn't anything ridiculously high), would definitely come back again!
The pork Ramen i got with pork belly. The meat had zero seasoning the broth was bland was definitely lackluster.
The bathrooms were disgusting piss stains somehow made it to the top of the toilet were the flush button was and the urinal was broken.

Bodega Tapas & Wine Bar, a warm and charming establishment in Edmonton, offers a range of Spanish tapas and paella dishes. Its high-ceiling room creates an inviting atmosphere for patrons to indulge in a variety of sophisticated culinary delights while enjoying the view of the surrounding neighborhood. The Highlands venue is particularly renowned for its quaint backyard patio, where guests can bask in the sun-drenched ambiance reminiscent of Spain.
Bodega is the sister restaurant of Sabor, which is my favorite restaurant in Edmonton (and always in the top five according to most lists). Like Sabor, the hardest part is figuring out how to order because the tapas, while delicious, quickly add up. Having had the paella at Sabor, we decided to skip the pricy mains and combine some tapas, an a la carte protein and small charcuterie.
Cod fritters never disappoint and were perfectly seasoned without being fishy. We love the empanadas which you can have with various proteins. (We split beef and lamb.) They are never greasy and always flavorful.
Garlic prawns are reasonably large and perfectly flavored without being oily or overly garlicky.
Unfortunately, while billed as a Portuguese restaurant, our visit to Portugal last year kind of ruined charcuterie anywhere else for us because nothing can match the quality of meats and cheeses in Portugal or Spain. However, they do offer a good selection of North American and European meats and cheeses that are tasty but a tad pricey. Still worth it if you enjoy cheese boards. We skipped the meats because they are overpriced by our standards.
As an a la carte protein, we enjoyed the 8 ounce short ribs which were cooked medium with delicious chimichurri on top. While we didn’t order an appetizer this time, we’ve had the mussels and would recommend them along with most others but perhaps you’d skip some tapas and choose a main instead if your budget allows.
Cherry cheesecake is tapa sized but quite tasty. Service at the Ellerslie location is excellent and wait staff are cordial, friendly and offer suggestions as they do on the downtown location. Overall, Bodega is an excellent choice for what it offers but expect to easily spend between $120 to $150 if you want to walk away full and satisfied.

My experience at Bodega 104 was a mix of highs and lows. Let me start with the positives: the food is consistently amazing, and the drinks are top-notch. However, the service left much to be desired. There has been was one server, an older gentleman with glasses, who has impressed me with his extensive knowledge of the wine list and provided fantastic service multiple other times I have dined here.
Unfortunately, our dining experience took a turn when a younger server, whose name escapes me, began making inappropriate comments about the amount of food my partner and I ordered. Despite not being overweight, he proceeded to fat shame us, which made us feel uncomfortable. Even after we brushed off his remarks, another server continued to make unwelcome comments about the speed at which we devoured our shrimp.
To add insult to injury, we were never offered the dessert menu, and when we finally ordered dessert, the server visibly displayed his disapproval. As someone who has frequented Bodega and enjoyed it in the past, this was by far the worst dining experience I've ever had. Despite the exceptional food and drinks, the lackluster service tainted what should have been an enjoyable evening.

This is our first time at this place. Make sure to make reservations, we did not. We ate outside. They need bigger tables. Or at least put a ledge close to the glass so I can put my wallet, phone & keys on it. The tables were tiny, once the drinks and food came out, there was no room for anything else. If u like spicy / seafood then this place is for you. I don’t. All I had was sautéed mushrooms and bruschetta.

I really enjoyed my diner there. All the dishes I tried were delicious, even though they were on the salty side. The patatas bravas were nice and crispy. The bruxel sprouts were nicely seasoned. The seafood paella had a decent amount of seafood pieces. The Spanish octopus was great, nicely cooked and crispy. We enjoyed the tapenade that came with it. The boar cheeks were perfectly cooked with a delicious sauce. The Piri piri prawns were excellent too, nicely grilled. Would definitely recommend this place as they have so many options that you’ll be sure to find what you like. Our server was nice and friendly too.

Recently ordered from Chicken Spot and was seriously impressed! Their fried chicken was packed with flavor—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and perfectly seasoned. Not too overpowering, just the right balance. While we got takeout this time, I’ve dined in before, and the service is always lightning-fast. I went to this place, because we're on vacation and I was craving home food, but the food was not good, and the customer service was so atrocious. The setting and the look of the place was nice but the food again was awful. Our waiter would constantly hide in the back, and we were not offered any condiments or checked on throughout out time there. I would definitely not recommend.

River City Revival House, located in the basement of the Starlight Room in downtown Edmonton, is a must-visit for music and food enthusiasts. The menu features creatively named dishes like Wings of Leon and Nat King Coleslaw. The establishment prides itself on using local ingredients from businesses such as Meuwlys sausage, Boocha kombucha, Sylvan Star Cheese, and Sea Change beer.
Had a fantastic dinner and some drinks before a concert in the Starlite Room which the restaurant is attached to. Was fairly busy with people doing the same as us but the service was still solid and the food didn't take long to get out. Had a fantastic Cubano sandwich with a side order of coleslaw. The sandwiches come individually but there is still a choice of sides for an extra cost. Not pictured was a fantastic slice of still warm apple pie for dessert which was also great. Pie changes daily so no guessing what's gonna be there next time. Looking forward to coming back next time I go to a concert.

River City Revival is my favourite bar in the city. So open and welcoming to all. Everyone is safe and it’s so much fun! Sunday night jam night is incredible. I feel like I am downtown Austin when I am there. The talent is amazing. All of the employees are so great. Special mention to Mya.

Gee, I Wonder why the business is currently in jeopardy of closing? unless someone has 3.5 million and buys it To keep running these venues! Now from past experiences I have had one and it was more dry than a popcorn toot, BUT THIS WAS NOT THE CASE. This biscuit was warm, fluffy, and a little crunchy on top. Wow I wish I got a whole box of the honey biscuits. Then the next item I ate was the jalapeno bombers, great texture, cooked throughout, and they were spicy! Did not disappoint!! Next item was the BIG sandwich, so the bun was flattened and dry, I did add the creamy jalapeno dip on it, typically I don’t like raw onions but they were red onions and it was a good flavour, I didn’t taste the tortilla chips though. Overall I am fully satisfied, churches has redeemed themselves from past experiences. My new favourite fried chicken sandwich for fast food!

I ordered three spicy chicken tenders. I am pretty sure they gave me plain ones.
When I opened the box I couldn’t believe what I received for $10 plus tax. I have never been more disappointed and felt completely ripped off. $10 for $2 worth of chicken. There was hardly any breading and they just looked sad.
Needless to say I will not be returning and will stick to Popeyes.

We came here to try something local to support Edmonton businesses and we were so happy! We tried mild chicken and snow cheese chicken (we didn’t realize they had saucy ones). They were both delicious! Also the daikon (radish) was such a great add on in between bites. We will definitely return to try other flavours. (Note the photos are not of full boxes, we couldn’t wait to eat it!!)
As a Korean local, I’ve tried countless chicken places, but their chicken is the best Korean fried chicken I’ve ever had in Edmonton. Fair prices and crispy juicy chicken.

Went here and tried this pace out! All I can say is wow! This place is a hidden gem! The food is delightful and service is amazing! Plenty of parking! I totally recommend this place!
Why have I not heard of this place until now?? The chicken is perfectly crispy on the outside and unbelievably juicy on the inside. We ordered the mild fried chicken meal combo with fries for my kid, and the “swicy” (sweet and spicy) saucy fried chicken and bulgogi to share.
The bulgogi was delicious and tastes like Korean comfort food. Basically a wholesome, home-cooked stir fry that I’d imagine my mom or grandma to make, if I were Korean.
The swicy chicken was loaded with sauce, and more sweet than spicy. Very juicy and even the cuts that usually tend to be drier were not dry.
It was a lot for us to finish so we took it home, and the leftovers from my kid’s chicken was still juicy and delicious after reheating the next day. That was the ultimate test for me and I’m now completely sold on this place. I think I even liked the dry crispy chicken even more than the saucy one.
Note that there is not a lot of seating in the actual restaurant, it’s more of a pickup and takeout place. But if you do stay, the service is warm and friendly and there’s nonstop K-pop on the tv :)
We ordered the sweet and spicy chicken and the cheese snow chicken for takeout and they were both amazing. The chicken was juicy, crispy on the outside, and the portions were generous! We thought the price to quality ratio was great. I was pleasantly surprised and will definitely be coming back!

Chicken for You is a tiny unassuming little spot on 118th Avenue in Edmonton in Westwood. The space is simple with a television playing K-Pop tunes. You can tell the food is good with the endless food delivery drivers that stream through.
They have other various Korean food items on the menu but let's be honest...the reason one comes here is for the chicken.
The fried chicken is perfectly crispy on the outside and super tender on the inside. The flavors are diverse and delicious. There is a hot Blackpink flavor that is so addictive!
The service is so sweet. The lady at the counter is so humble and helpful.
I cannot say enough about this lesser know establishment. If you are anywhere in North Central Edmonton or downtown, you have to try this chicken!

Went there a few days ago back, ordered at the drive thru pulled up to the window to pay, the girl open the window passed the machine to me without saying hi or what was my total I payed and waited about 8 minutes at the window. She open the window and passed my bag didn’t say thanks for waiting or told me it would take about 10 mins. Then went home to lead tasting chicken out of eight pieces 4 was like old chicken in dirty oil and was reheated.

Now for the food… amazing!! I’ve gone here a few times and it’s never disappointed. Their kimchi has a kick and their chicken is so flavourful!! Crispy and juicy. Most fried chicken places don’t hit the spot for me like this place does!
The prices are wonderful for the portion sizes of the food you get and how filling the chicken is. I always end up having leftovers (bonus!) because the chicken is so filling. Great place for lunch and dinner in my opinion!

Great value here for a fulfilling lunch, just be sure to catch the happy hour 1-4pm everyday. Can't beat a 2pc chicken for $5.50.
Chicken was freshly cooked and tasted great. Outside was crispy while the meat tender and moist. The spicy OG sauce is pretty tasty as well, you can't go wrong with a classic. Fries are hand cut and cooked perfectly but the seasoning wasn't my favourite. I would prefer a simple sea salt instead. Also tried the kimchi and fritters which were meh. I would suggest adding rice to the menu. There's something about fried chicken, gravy and rice that hits just right. Love it here and will keep coming back. In terms of bang for your buck, the best value for Korean fried chicken is here at SFC.
I usually frequent their Whyte Ave location if I'm craving Korean fried chicken, however since I was in the area, I decided to give their downtown location a try. I ordered the big Seoul set with the chipotle spicy BBQ flavour. No complaints about the service and restaurant ambience. However, once the food arrived, the chicken pieces were much smaller and was paired with less sauce compared to the orders I had in their Whyte Ave location. This was disappointing, as I was used to bigger portions as well as more sauce on the chicken. It felt like the majority of the meal were the sides of fries and sesame slaw which I ordered as part of the set. I hope they improve on their consistency between locations and that they provide bigger portions, as well as a generous amount of sauce that I had gone back for.

The time has come that I no longer recommend Seoul Fried Chicken to people, atleast the downtown location.
I ordered a 16 piece BBQ chicken, and the box was full of small pieces of chicken. Many smaller then what a chicken strip would be.
A year ago if they ever had lots of small pieces, they would make up for it by adding like 5 more small pieces (in addition to the 16) to make up for it. Now it seems they are just giving mostly small pieces with no additional.
I understand businesses are having a hard time, but this is too much, and too quick. Last year they reduced the # of pieces per box, and this year they reduce the size of the pieces.
They also provide much less sauce than they used to. Disappointing to see yet another good food option going down.

The butter gochujang chicken was unbelievably tasty and juicy! Seriously one if the better sandwiches I’ve ever had. A HUGE perfectly seasoned and fried piece of juicy chicken with an excellent sauce and trimmings. We’ll be back many times!
good chicken we really enjoyed it, we got the bbq and the soy garlic, this time wasn't as crispy as before but still good, the pesto pasta was nice as well, the fries were standard fries, this place is definitely worth a try, they give out gloves so you don't get your hand dirty which i like, friendly staff and will be back forsure

We had such a great experience at this Mexican restaurant! We ordered the chicken tacos, barbacoa torta with soup, guacamole and chips, and some beans — everything was absolutely delicious. The food was cooked perfectly and had a truly authentic taste. The torta especially stood out — the bread was incredibly soft and flavorful. The ladies working there were so kind and welcoming, which made the whole visit even better. Everything was really good but the only thing I didn't really like was that you have to pay first before you get the food. I would understand if you ordered take out but if you are dining in you shouldn't have to in my opinion. Other than that, it was very authentic Mexican food!

It was our first time at Calle Mexico. We already knew what to order before going in...the beef tongue tacos. They were really good.
There is a sauce counter near the bar.
It had regular salsa, mild guac salsa, then the medium and hot salsas. We tried the first 3 and they were pretty good. Don't touch the medium if you can't handle heat. There are small plastic containers for salsa or just put the salsas directly on the tacos.
This counter also has onions, pickled onions, pickles, and a few other things.
As you enter, there's a counter where you get menus, get a table & decide what you want, go back to the counter to order & pay right there. The food then comes to your table.
They even have a live band on Saturday nights including karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights.
Loved the decor. Has plenty of seating indoors, a nice patio outside, the live music area, and also a sit-down bar (seen the high chairs but not sure if you can actually sit n drink there).
There's street parking on Calgary trail and on 77Ave at the side of the restaurant.
Will definitely return.
I took my kids there because we love eating tacos, saw there was pretty good ratings so I decided to check it out. These are the things I ordered;
1) Pork Taco: We all thought this was the best tacos out of the three that we ordered. Flavourful, not dry at all and the grilled pineapple compliments it all.
2) Beef Taco: The tacos were good. It was slow cooked style beef tacos was pretty flavourful and tender.
3) Steak Taco: Although this was ok and it was on the dry side. I don’t really recommend this one.
4) Tres Leches Cake: This cake was pretty good, flavourful and moist.

Strangest arrangement. You have to go to the front desk to order and pay for your food ahead. So you're of course asked to add a tip. Well how do I know how much I want to tip when I haven't yet experienced the service?
While the food came out fast and was tasty, the water we ordered with our food didnt arrive. Had to ask for it twice more as a server was passing by. We then had to go back to the front and stand in a ridiculously long line to order dessert. Stood in line for 20 minutes then dessert took another half hour to get to us. Absurd way to do things and because of that I would never go back.
Oh and we had made a reservation but they didnt have it recorded. Just not a good overall experience at all.

I visited this branch first in 2017 when it was newly opened. Everything about the place and food was brilliant.
Now I visited again in August of 2023 and I was very disappointed with everything from the food quality to service and cleanliness.
The door handle of the entrance door is broken. Okay... Then the people at service are broken too. They have no willingness to serve.
When served, you meet substandard food. Mary Brown's Chicken is never chewy or rubbery except at this location. The Taters of Mary Brown's are never hard except at this location.
Cleanliness was shameful. The floor was greasy and sticky and the washroom was not clean.
I like and support Mary Brown's. It is the best fried chicken in Canada but this location needs immediate and serious attention.
Mary Browns is a fast food eatery, however, it does have several tables for dine in, the staff are always very nice and polite. The food quality is good again it is fast food however I’ve definitely had worse food and more expensive restaurants. The chicken is always good not overly seasoned, their fries are great. They have several different types of poutine and they have incredible mac & cheese and coleslaw. Probably my favourite chicken place.
Food was disgusting and stale , very cold, meat was hard , dry to chew , they didn’t send me fork to eat do poutine, what they expecting to eat with hands. I mentioned for cutlery when it says how many people eating. Had more expectations from Mary brown. Never ordering again . No spicy sauce. I ordered two chicken sandwich , one poutine. What a waste . I asked them not to put pickles on the chicken sandwich and yet the put it. The sauce had spilled all over the bag. I didn’t knew what to order the guy could have suggested something but he kept staring at me which was very awkward. No napkins in the thing I had to ask for it, very bad experience won’t be returning here anytime soon. Very poor customer service.

At this location the staff were nice and fast and there’s ample seating all be it quite eccentric and jungle gym like. My favourite thing is the mango paneer I could eat it everyday forever.

I stopped by here one night based on a recommendation. It was really good, the atmosphere was warm and pleasant. The food was great! I had the coconut rice with coconut vegetables, mango paneer and butter chicken. They were all flavourful and rich. While they were a little sweet, there was still a bite of spiciness there. I really liked that you can add additional toppings like roasted garlic, fried onions and others to your dish.
At Tiffin you'll find some of the best tasting and most affordable Indian food in town.
Do not mistake the name for the classic 'tiffin' service - once you visit the naming will totally make sense.
They do have lots of space in case you are visiting as a big group.

Honestly I had walked past Tiffin on Jasper for years and never thought to go in! I regret that so much!! The food is delicious, the portions are so generous and the naan is fresh and soft. The atmosphere is also wonderful, clean, and relaxing. I couldn’t believe I was the only person here for lunch! I will definitely be back this was a wonderful experience.
We've been ordering from tiffin for a while a now and we like it so much we had them cater our wedding. They did an amazing job, everything was so good and the staff made it seamless and easy. They were able to accommodate last minute changes for guests with dietary restrictions. Huge hit among all our guests, I would recommend to anyone.
Food was good 👍 Got a generous serving which more than filled me, so probably taking some of this to go. Wasn't very busy during rush hr (5pm) and there's a ton of seating. 2 hr limited parking on the side so just be aware of that (I came on a moped, so not a problem). Only complaint was I got a ton of delicious spiced rice but a couple more chunks of meat would have been nice. Overall good filling and flavorful meal for $18 👍
Been here a few times and thought I'd already given Tiffin it's deserved 5 star review. As with almost all my reviews, it's the staff who make or break the customer service experience.
Service can be hit or miss when living downtown. At Tiffin, it's always been a hit for me. The staff here are simply amazing .. so friendly, welcoming and informative.
Equally on par with the service is the food. It's so damn good! If you're looking for great people, great service and fantastic food, this is a place you must visit and visit multiple times!

So, I am in Edmonton attending (solo) a wedding at the Hotel McDonald. With a couple of hours until the reception and a bit longer until dinner, I felt that I needed a bite to eat and a beverage to wet my whistle. I am sitting outside under a canopy with a soft sprinkle of rain coming down. It is lovely and serene.
My savory green onion scone was absolutely delicious and my London Fog, so fantastic. But, even better than the food (how can that be) was the incredible hospitality I experienced here. From the smiling and friendly faces to their amazing kindness, well it was top notch.
This delightful cafe should be a stop for everyone in the downtown area. You will not be disappointed one bit.

Really nice café. The service was quick and super friendly. Very busy but spacious. I actually loved ordering at the front then finding your own spot to sit and wait for your order - found this very efficient especially with how busy it was.
The food was DELICIOUS, I had the lox and egg sandwich and it was super tasty. The crispy potatoes were one of the best I've ever had. I had a capaccino which was small but still nice.
Very pricey though, expect to spend around $30 per person. However, the experience was very lovely and the food was super good. I left feeling full and satisfied. Would highly recommend.
Absolutely delicious place. I ordered a bowl with creamy scrambled eggs, bacon and charred tomato salsa. The flavor of the salsa was the stuff of dreams—a little smoky with fresh garden tomato zing. It’s the kind of flavor you think about when you recall your trip to Edmonton a week or so later. Heck, there are places I’ve been to 20 years ago that I can still recall the flavors. I don’t remember the names of the places, but the images and flavors are fresh in my memory!
Anyway! This place had great coffee, friendly faces, and service was great, as was the atmosphere. You walk up to the counter and order and take a number to your seat. Homemade pastries and donuts too! Must go here (again)!
Atmosphere is loud and busy. Food is everything I want it to be. I have been looking for a good soup, and I found here an amazing one. Managed to get it with a truly perfect donut as well. Just came for a quick snack but definitely coming back for lunch, breakfast and everything else they've got. Price is very good for what you get since the food is basically perfect. Donuts delicious. Soup quite spicy. Tables quite close together and can get loud so not really a place to sit and get some work done. But it’s a cozy shop in a quieter part of downtown.
I was visiting Edmonton and wandered downtown to find a nice place for breakfast, which is when I stumbled upon Rosewood Foods. It is a clean, simple little place - honestly doesn't look like much and you order at the front and pay ahead of time - but it really delivered in the food-and-drink department. The atmosphere is nice and quiet, perfect for reading and drinking a coffee or having conversation. The drink I ordered - london fog with almond milk - was very good. But the real star was the food. I ordered a scallion, egg, and cheese sandwich. It was soft and buttery and absolutely covered in melty cheese. Even more than I enjoyed my sandwich, I enjoyed the potatoes. I have never had such crispy breakfast potatoes. They are smashed and fried I think? Really exceptional; I usually don't like plain potatoes but I could eat these all day, even without ketchup or hot sauce or anything. Really impressed. Only complaint is that it's so far from my home so I won't be able to visit again anytime soon!
Edit: I visited a second time on my trip because I couldn't stop thinking about those potatoes. This time I got a mushroom hash and again: so, so good. I've added a photo of the hash. Definitely recommend.
Ive been coming to rosewood once or twice a year as a treat for a long time now. The food and staff are somewhere between good and great and their Carrot Cake Cupcake is always the best thing to eat. Always a treat to enjoy your delicious food Rosewood! Thanks from a loyal occasional customer.
Their Cruller's are outstanding. I'm picky about eating non-homemade foods and treats, but I have to hand it to Rosewood, those Cruller's are melt in your mouth delicious and they don't feel heavy or gross. Ingredients feel high quality and there's clearly a lot of care put into the place as whole. Highly recommend.

Pretty good food overall. The fried chicken and Jogae Tang are highlights. We didn't really care for the corn cheese as the sweetness was something we weren't used to. Service is friendly. If there is a caveat/complaint, it is that the booths were quite cramped and uncomfortable. The music could also be a bit less loud.
Good thing we had reservations, place was really busy. What we ordered was decent. Would maybe come back and try something different. Staff don't come back and check on their tables, so don't drink all your water off right away

Very very good Korean fried chicken. Some of the best that I've had! Got the half and half with yang nyeom and cheese.
The staff was nice and gave us a side of seasoned rice for free because the food was taking a while to come out. The chicken was really juicy and there was a lot of large pieces. The cheese tasted really good, and the yang nyeom wasn't overly sweet which was good
The aesthetic of the place was also really nice, with small personal booths and lots of decor

My favorite original Korean crispy chicken. I can't find a place that cooks it fresher and brines it better. The cut of the chicken was interesting and not annoying like some other places. I enjoyed it despite some slow service. They are just swamped. Prices are reasonable for what it is. I liked the decor of this place. Really takes you back to Korea.

I've been here a decent amount of times and it can be really hit or miss. I've walked in an hour before close and been told they can't serve me because they are closing early. When it is good the food is amazing and you get a lot of chicken, the food is full of flavour. However last visit I did discover a hair about 6 inches with a root and wavy right in the middle of the chicken box attached to a bit of chicken so how strict they are on hygiene procedures could be questionable

New location and much better vibes. I feel like I've been transported back to the 90's with Garfield and Magic School Bus. The food was on point. I got the chicken and waffle and paid an extra $4 for one more piece of chicken. Everything was delish. Crispy and well-seasoned chicken. Loved the syrup on the waffles. Homemade fries with real ketchup were to die for. Stop coming to the McDonald's nearby and get out of your comfort zone. With how inflated McDonald's is you'd best come here and support local!
Great little restaurant just south of Whyte Ave. And adjacent Gateway Blvd. Bright clean space with lots of seating, kitchen decor. Food was excellent and served with a smile! Had the angry bird sandwich with just the right mix of spices, toppings, and toasted bun. I like that they flatten the chicken breast first, makes for easier eating then places that don't. Everything is made from scratch including the delicious home fries and house ketchup. Less sugar, more tomatoes 🍅. I'll be back to try their signature waffles and chicken next!
If you are looking for a seriously spicy chicken in Edmonton this is it. Ended up ordering two chicken burger combos which were incredible and even the one the next day for lunch turned out perfect. Just to warn you everything is spicy but the right type of spice. Chicken was spicy, fries were spicy, tater tots were spicy and I loved every minute of it.
Excellent food at an affordable price. Approximately $15-20 per person and food was served quickly. The chicken is perfectly seasoned, the waffles were delicious, and the fries are fantastic. The only thing that irked me was the counter guy - he could be friendly to the only customers in there, but hopefully it was just a bad day.
Best chicken and waffles in Edmonton, hands down! The owner makes his own homemade ketchup, and it's to die for.

The description for the fries on website states WB seasoning, pickles and ketchup. All I received was burnt potatoes with absolutely no seasoning or pickles and I paid $8 for it!
Basically everything I received was either overcooked or burnt. I’ve never experienced this from a restaurant before. I truly hope for the sake of this business that this was a one off event and hope they strive for better quality in the future because this was absolutely terrible.
Had the angry chicken and waffles with a coconut woahnut for dessert. Gotta say this place is legit, the chicken was spicy without being overwhelming and the waffle was fluffy and just plain perfect, add the maple syrup and u get one hell of a bite! Absolutely recommended!! Oh damn and the Doritos tater tots! I honestly loved it lol

Not a bad spot if you are craving fried chicken in the south area, we ordered their fried sweet potatoes (loved it), and tried their Pelicana Seasoned Chicken and White Snowing Cheese Chicken, both okay but I do prefer the cheese one over their signature dish, it has a more balanced flavour and I enjoyed the crispy texture. The Pelicana seasoned one was too saucy, the coating was very thick and strong and overpowered the overall taste. We also ordered their Fish Cake Soup, which we enjoyed as well, just a tad on the salty side.
I tried the fried chicken here a while back, after many friends’ suggested it. I was told that this is (one of) the most authentic Korean Fried Chicken by Korean friends. Overall, their fried chicken is quite good. They are a little distinct from other places: slightly different breading/skin to meat ratio, saucy pieces, different flavors, etc. However, I don’t think I enjoy it as much as other places
Great place for chicken. The food are slightly on the expensive side but it's really good. The Pelicana Seasoned(tossed in gochujang sauce I believe) and Soy Sauce chicken are amazing. The side dishes(pickled radish and coleslaw) you get are good. I also got the fish cake soup which is also really tasty. The atmosphere is also great.
I must say I was pleasantly surprised by my first visit here. The atmosphere is unique, including customer art on the wall!
The service from Jin was exceptional. I enjoyed some very pleasant and stimulating conversation that was well above the small talk level; to the point that I am now very interested in visiting Korea!
As for the food, I tried the 4 piece fried chicken and Jin was even able to get me 2 different flavours which they don’t normally do. I enjoyed the Spicy Pelicana and the Soy and both were cooked to perfection and full of flavour. I was worried the soy would be too strong but it was just right, subtle and tasty!
I am looking forward to my next visit when I can try the next level of spicy and for sure the green onion soy which sound mouth wateringly delicious.
Through COVID, there has been a lot of eating at home. I often get Korean to go. There are a new rash of Korean establishments on the south side all serving varieties of Korean delights. In this very same block, in fact, there are two other Korean establishments serving up food. But the fried chicken isn't on all other menus...so sometimes I end up making two stops. ✌️😂
I come to Pelicana for chicken. Plain and simple. There are other well known fried chicken stops in Edmonton but they are further away from me. So this is a reliable deep south stop for me to get some Korean fried goodness as a compliment to my other dishes. You won't be disappointed with their food by any means.
Inside its a quaint little stop with graffiti adorning the walls giving it a hip vibe. It's such a tiny location though in a strange strip that I passed by it three times even though I had it on Maps. I hope they can survive there amidst the influx of Korean food all around this block, on Calgary Trail and on 34th avenue.
Pricing is high as some have noted but the food is also generous. It's not really ideal as a singular meal for one person I find...I can eat a lot and I end up putting away some for the next day because it's so much. But it's JUST chicken with some pickled radish on the side. I do prefer other establishments that offer their chicken with other sides, less chicken and a lower price. Unless you just want to eat the chicken... 🐔😉 Otherwise, I do love this place a lot.
Tasty Korean style chicken. Has several varieties of flavors. I tried the Pelicana spicy chicken, the soy chicken and the cheese chicken. The spicy version was moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. The spicy sauce was the right combination of spicy and sweet. Unfortunately the other 2 flavors I found lacking in taste, didn't really taste the soy or the cheese. You can buy a half order(8 pieces)or whole order of chicken (16 pieces). Be aware that you won't get the whole piece of chicken breast or thigh, they are cut into smaller pieces to count as two pieces, you do get the whole wing and drumstick. If other places like Popeyes, Mary Brown or KFC tried to cut up their chicken breast or thigh, there would be alot of dissatisfied customers, but because there are few Korean fry chicken places they can get away with this.
I just love this place. The service time is good and customer service is friendly. The chicken is so tender and crispy plus a lot of choices from all kinds of hot and or spicy chicken. Over all experience is great.

Well I finally got the chance to try this fried chicken after hearing about it in the news. I missed going here when it closed its Whyte Ave location.
They reopened and took some time for me tocame here to buy for lunch.
It did not disappoint. The chicken was really good as it was still tender and crispy after driving from Ralph's to my house in Southside (30-45 minute drive).
The spuds was also good not soggy cooked to perfection. Not too salty perfect amount of seasoning.
One negative is the hot sauce as it is not good more sweet than spicy but this negative does not deserve to lower the score as it is a minor issue.
The owner and staff is really kind. He even gave me a business card that if I call ahead I will get fried chicken ready for me instead of waiting. Also he personally claim that their fried chicken is really good that it will make me want to come back.
Yes he is correct as I am thinking of coming back to buy more fried chicken whenever I am around that area.

I used to eat here couple of times a month and always satisfied with the food and the size of the chicken. Just ordered few minutes ago for 3 piece chicken meal for “to go “, the other 2 are okay but the other 1 is as small as potato wedge. Like what’s wrong? I saw there plenty of chicken on the tray. 😔
Tasty fried chicken and delicious spuds. Support this local shop and its friendly owners. Call ahead if you prefer not waiting. We got the 9-piece family meal for $35 (tax included), and it was so much food. The owner even included a free large gravy. Nice addition to the neighborhood.
FINALLY got to try a meal from here and it was as amazing as I’d hoped! Insanely good prices and the family was so kind and sweet, they gave me free gravy for having to wait 5 minutes for fresh chicken. Even after my 15 min walk home the spuds and chicken were hot & crispy. My new favourite chicken place for sure :) they also had Palestinian Za’atar which was delicious as well!
The reviews are accurate - This place is truly an Edmonton gem of a fried chicken shop. It has all the hallmarks that make honest to goodness straight up fried chicken. Clean oil, quality ingredients and equally as important the care to cook the food with pride. The chicken is juicy and crispy well seasoned and the potato wedges were delicious. This place is clean and the Staff were very friendly and quick to serve up my order. I called in my order so it would be hot and fresh when I arrived at the shop. If you want real Southern fried Chicken this is the place to go!

This is their second location in Edmonton. The first location is in Castledowns and it’s great that they have another one because I think they have the best friend chicken in town, hands down.

In fact don't waste your time reading this, jump in your car, motorbike, scooter, horse, however you commute and get some of the best fried chicken you will ever have. I have travelled the globe, been down in the deep south of the ole US, and Ralph's Chicken rates in my top 3, possibly number one. Crispy and perfectly seasoned on the outside, and very juicy and tasty inside...every bite is rewarding...you still reading this? Go NOW, and don't forget the gravy!

North 53 serves upscale cocktails and food, with chill community vibe. We ordered a martini with a lemon twist, The Devils in the Details (like a sweet basil margarita), and the Sun Always Rises (grapefruit with a herbaceous rosemary twist). They were all excellent. Food: the pork belly with brussel sprouts was fantastic, the tuna tataki was good. I thought that the popcorn chicken could use a more flavours. I will definitely be back for Friday drinks!

Cons: The cocktails, while delicious, were very expensive. The portions were quite small. We were most disappointed about the fact that a few menu items were not available (clams, apple tart) and a few drinks (one of the cocktails and a beer) were not available. We ate on a Tuesday evening at 6:30.
Overall, a great restaurant. I'll probably wait a while before coming back.
I came with a family to eat here and I must say the food was good albeit small portions. The presentation is excellent, however, the prices are high and that includes the cocktails. The menu could use a few more large plates, rather than just the one dish, a whole chicken for $50. If you want to go for a small bite to eat and sample some excellent cocktails, then this is the place for you. Try the Popcorn Chicken, the best item for sharing on the menu.
I've always heard great things from this establishment. It has taken me a long time to visit and I would like to say great things come to those who wait. First of all the greetings from the wait staff absolutely welcoming. I felt I was part of their brethren and then being the new guy I was romanced cocktails. I started with the smoke & oak and truly fell in love. The experience of senses involved with a cocktail expanded my imagination and would only want everyone to try and enjoy! 10/10
Went here with a party of 7 and had an amazing time. Everyone got a few drinks and we ordered enough food that we were all comfortably full at the end of our meal.
The drink menu is very interesting and I would love to be able to try as much as I can. What I especially appreciate about the drink menu is being able to choose what base you like and a flavor profile and then putting your faith in the bartender. I've never been disappointed!
Regarding food, we loved the fried chicken! It was crispy, flavourful, and came with a delicious dipping sauce! Can't wait to go back!

Lows: I ordered the Gnocchi which was above average, but the tiny portion killed it for me. $23 for what equated to less food than an average bowl of soup. Again, cocktails were very pricey.
We arrived before opening at 5 o'clock, but were told we would need to sit at the bar because every table was reserved. We ate our meal, had three cocktail, and left before three tables filled.

Their new revamped menu is delicious with just the right amount of options. Had the oceans nest for an appetizer, it was delicious, but a little pricey. Main was their charbroiled steak and vegetables. They were great about my allergy and made roasted baby potatoes instead of mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked a little over my liking but it was still a great cut of meat.
Service was amazing as they were constantly filling water, asking about drinks, etc. Very positive experience and would go again.

Service was great however our food literally came out cold and had to be sent back to be reheated. Reheated steak came back over cooked. Not super picky people but when you’re paying a little more for good food it should at least come out hot. Not even offered a complimentary dessert or any concession. The prices seemed like they were a bit on the high end. They did seem to have some interesting menu items. All in the all, the service was a bit slow and my caesar salad had too much dressing on it. That being said, if I lived in Edmonton then I probably would go back. However, I would order dressing on the side or try another menu item, but maybe for dinner the price might be more worth it. For lunch, the prices were a bit much.
Great vibe and very clean. Food was next level and priced moderately. Service was excellent and seemed to be the case at other tables as well. The only downside side to our experience was a ornery table behind us cursing and carrying on. Staff was obviously aware of what was going on but didn't take any corrective measures. In the end our meal and the service was great. We'll return.
We hosted an event in their space and they did an amazing job. The food was outstanding, the wine was delicious and of good value, and the space was beautiful. The staff made sure our event was memorable and well taken care of.
Not a regular stop but any time I have been there the food was excellent. Service the same. Nice atmosphere, not too stark as some of new places seem to be. Lighting is subdued making for a more relaxed and romantic feel. Definitely worth checking out!

I’ve been working at the University of Alberta for nearly twenty years and hands down Filistix is the best meal that you will have on campus. Not only is the food out of this world the staff at this location is some of the best people you will ever meet. I highly recommend the South Pacific Coconut Chicken.
This is an absolute gem of a place! I found out about them through one of their food trucks being at the fringe festival. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they had a location in SUB right on campus. It's too bad about the standalone location in downtown, I thought it added a nice touch of something different in the city's food options.

This restaurant is slightly out of the way so it is easy to miss but the delicious food here is the first thing you smell whenever you enter SUB.
The food here is easily the best you can get on campus and it is quite healthy compared to some other similar options too. The staff are also always friendly and from what I have seen, are very accommodating if you want your order customized.
Other cuisines have a lot to offer but I really appreciate the balance of flavours each of the dishes have. You can tell there is a bit of a fusion between European and Asian here too with some of the dishes so the flavours are unique as well. This restaurant single handedly inspired me to try more Filipino food. I especially recommend the South Pacific Coconut Chicken and the Fili Beef which is something they invented themselves but is inspired by Filipino food. You can’t go wrong with any of their options though and they have some nice lunch specials that are worth checking out as well.

First time trying and would go back. Service was top notch. We ordered the 3 piece chicken Nashville extra hot which was actually very spicy! Lots of flavour and the chicken was juicy and a good size. Be careful on the bigger pieces because it was still a bit pink on the inside but the other two smaller pieces were perfect.
I'm sure had we mentioned it they would have done something about it because I ordered 2 chicken fingers which are actually huge. One of them wasn't ready at the same time so the waitress removed it from our bill without me even complaining. Now that's great customer service! One "finger" would have been enough though since they are pretty big and for an extra $5 I got the Doritos mac n cheese. The mac n cheese was fantastic and it really doesn't need the Doritos so next time I'd get without it. Both dishes came with an apple coleslaw which was very good.
Looking forward to going back and trying more of their sides.

Northern Chicken was originally established on 124 Street in Edmonton but has found a nice little spot on busy 104 Street in downtown.
The chicken is amazing. Considering how many fast food and dine in chicken outlets there are now, this one still stands out. Note that the hot scale goes beyond what is tolerable with scorpion and reaper peppers. The flavors are incredible The chicken is crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. And they have a wide array of sides.
The service was great. Friendly and helpful.
The space has a cozy pub feel and they also have a sizeable patio area.

The dill pickle potato salad had no seasoning whatsoever, just cold boiled potatoes, so bland. The apple coleslaw also had no flavor, it tasted like apple soaked wet cabbage. The biscuits temperature felt like they had been in a fridge for days. None of their sides complimented the chicken which was highly disappointing but the homemade ranch was good. Avoid the sides I tried unless your preference is unseasoned.
Ordered Nashville hot and expected to a bit hot but all it had was red pepper rubbed to deep fried chicken, not even salt 🧂 in chicken.
Staff was great and courteous, good ambience.
I would rather go for Popeyes or Jollibee.
Came here after the Oilers game and had the best damn chicken sandwich I've ever tasted. The hot maple is sublime. Pairs well with a Sea Change Prairie Fairie on tap. Super friendly staff and a really nice vibe, plus a quick walk from downtown hotels. Will be back!
Went In for a quick lunch. Orders 3 pc chicken with Mac and cheese. The the taste was really good for both items. However the chicken peices were small compared to the pricing they charged. Otherwise the food was great and good atmosphere.

This second location of Northern Chicken is just as good as the first. Lots of seating, cozy atmosphere. Sports on TV in a couple spots for fans, but not too loud and distracting for those who are not. Spice levels on the food are great. Lots of options. I would consider myself very tolerant of high spice levels and the second highest level was pushing my limit.
Best chicken sandwich in the city by far, I had the maple this time, but my favourite is the hot. Dorito mac is also amazing. You can sub the side slaw for any side for a dollar to make a good deal for what you get. Staff is friendly and always have great music playing

Staff friendly and we had the special vegetarian quiche which was totally wholesome and yummy with spinach and greens - huge portion that can easily be shared and hot sauce to add makes it awesome.

My goal is to try every single Savoury pie available. To the owner, reheating at home is not the same as eating fresh onsite at the farmers market, but it is still excellent. For the next pie, I will let it sit until room temp inside and then reheat it in the air fry. I recently bought the steak & kidney pie, the Jamaican Patty, and the Steak and Cheese. Jamaican Pattie is not of the traditional shell, but it is a different experience in a good way. Yum!!

Got “The og” chicken sandwich with hot honey sauce and the Mac and cheese. Prices were great for what we got and it was quick. Not too spicy, depends what sauce you get the chicken with.

We visited their food truck. Fantastic chicken. Spicy is very spicy lol. But good. Owner was very cordial and gave us ice cream. Great as well.
I ordered the mac and cheese ($11) and 5 jumbo strips ($23) from their food truck. Came out to $40 with tax and a tip. With the price point, I was expecting food with actual flavour. The mac and cheese had a saturated orange cheese color, and I would've been better off making the Kraft Dinner I had at home. It had no taste. Moving on to the strips, I think these are the worst ones I ever had.
Upon picking them up, the breading fell off, and they were not crispy. They didn't have much taste either. The chipotle sauce I got on the side, gave it some flavour, but overall, not much. I ended up adding the chicken into the mac and cheese, along with the chipotle sauce, to create somewhat of an edible concoction. In the end, I couldn't finish it and for the price I was expecting better.
Food had no flavor and that being said, also overpriced. Portion size is very small for what you pay for. The teenage boy taking the orders at the window has a poor attitude as well. Time to find new employees and revamp the menu or something. I'm sure anyone from Nashville is laughing at this attempt at legitimate fried chicken. Waste of time and money going to this place
We did pick up instead of ordering through a third party delivery service, and the food was AMAZING. Don’t let the bad reviews from people who ordered door dash or Uber eats thwart you. Easily the best fried chicken sandwich I ever had. Spicy and tangy and a little sweet, the chicken was perfectly crispy and juicy, and they had our order ready quite quickly. So glad we gave this place a try, and you should too. Also important to note, the pickup for us was in the Longshotz Golf Lounge in case you have trouble finding it.
I ordered this on Uber eats, for the price it was super disappointing. Literally none of the food I ordered had any flavor, I added my own hot sauce to the chicken sandwich that not only tasted like nothing but actually didn’t smell good either. They do their own delivery, so you can’t track it, and when the driver showed up, he ditched my order on the front porch and didn’t even ring the door bell, so I had to use my mental telepathy powers to know it had arrived. Oh wait, I don’t have those so my food sat out in the cold until I decided to check the front door randomly. Overall very poor experience, poor service, poor value, disappointing taste. I will definitely not be eating here again.
Ordered through skip and it was a little concerning that I couldn’t see an arrival time since the restaurant does the order themselves, but it did deliver to me in a timely manner. The chicken was very good, however, everything else was a little lacklustre. I know this is a personal preference but it was unfortunate the house pickles were sweet, I probably would not have ordered if they mentioned on the menu. The green onion cake was pretty terrible, overdone and didn’t pull apart like they usually do. Lacked in any flavour. All in all, if you’re just looking for some good chicken, this is the place.
