Brewpub

Jasper Brewing Company is a modern brewery with a bright and stylish interior, offering housemade craft beers and elevated pub fare. It's a popular spot where visitors can settle down in front of an open fire, enjoy pub grub, watch big screen TV, and sip through a menu of craft beers.
Had a late lunch at the Jasper Brewing Company. Solid food all around. Fish and chips, wings, poutine, or just a nacho snack, all of it was top tier perfectly made. S&P wings were crispy and tasty, a good size and not dry, like many others I've had. Recommended. Lots of beer choices if you like a fruity type. I had the Crisp Pil. Easy drinking and smooth. Service was good and constant to check on things. Atmosphere was quiet, some large sports TVs. Bathrooms were clean. Overall a 5 star, will be back. Please support Jasper so that the town can be greater than it was. Thanks.

We had a spot outside in front of the business which was nice with the good weather. We just walked in without a reservation. They have a nice range of beers to choose from, some a bit more niche then the other. I also went for the elk meatloaf which was great. We had a good time.

We loved this place so much that we came three times during our 4-day stay in Jasper. That says it all! The atmosphere is great, and every staff member who served us was attentive, professional, and genuinely friendly. The beers and food were exactly what we were looking for. Highly recommended!
Adeline S — Google review
We stopped in at Jasper Brewing Co. and had a great experience! The atmosphere is very casual and welcoming — one side is more of a restaurant, and the other has a lively bar vibe. Service was good and friendly throughout our visit. We tried the wings and fish & chips, both were delicious and cooked perfectly. There are TVs everywhere, so it’s a great spot to catch a hockey or baseball game while enjoying a good meal and a cold drink. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Jasper!
Lina H — Google review
Pretty great spot for a nice dinner! Came here to have a bit of a late dinner. Service however can be a bit understaffed because of how huge the place was- the menu had a good selection so it didn’t take long for us to know what we want, it just took long for a wait staff to notice us. Besides that, the food was really fantastic. Just make sure you know that the sides and appetizers are huge, and I’d say they are meant for sharing for up to 4-5 people and it was way too much for just two of us. A lot of TVs in the place as well as they stream some of the local sports games, so I’d say the atmosphere is pretty nice.
Keith T — Google review
Really great spot! We sat outside on the terrace, which was super nice. The beer was awesome, and the food was even better. We both had the BBQ elk and loved it—tons of flavor and cooked just right. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Got food and drinks twice at JBC during our recent hiking trip in Jasper. The service was fantastic and the Seared Halloumi Bowl was delicious 😋 The group really enjoyed the Beef Dip and the Korean Fried Chicken as well as some Crisp Pils, White Sangria and the Brad's Riefle. Thanks JBC 🦌🫎
Kevin H — Google review
The restaurant is quite big, which impacts the atmosphere. The service is friendly, but not fast. The 1660 stout is very nice, perhaps a bit too cold compared to Guinness. They sell nice merchandise like T-shirts and jumpers, as well as glasses (not cheap at 12$, excl tax (and excluding a drink in it!)). They have many televisions. At one point they showed the same game, but one screen was one minute behind the other one, which was slightly irritably

Bistro
Nestled in a quiet corner of Patricia Street, The Raven Bistro is an upscale and intimate dining spot with modern artistic decor. This cozy gem offers a fusion of Mediterranean cuisine using locally sourced seafood, beef, pork, and game. Their menu features creative dishes like the seafood pot simmered in a flavorful broth and served over sweet-potato noodles with Asian vegetables. The bistro also surprises guests with delicious vegan and gluten-free options like the chocolate-pecan tart.
It was so good, we went there twice during our three day stay in Jasper. The staff is super friendly and courteous. The menu differs on midday and dinner time. But stays delicious! The Schnitzel and salmon were perfectly done. Crunchy and smooth at the same time. The curry dip which goes with the yam fries was my personal favourite. I could have eaten way more of that tasty dip. I also have to acknowledge the variation of gluten-free options. My sister never had any problems with the food afterwards. Besides the gluten-free dishes they also have vegetarian options. I definitely recommend eating at the Raven Bistro!
Julie — Google review
Tasty and unusual meal - though the meat dishes looked great, we went vegetarian tonight. Started with the warm Muhammara, a slightly spicy red pepper based dip with soft pita - perfect with a cold crisp beer. One entree was the Root Vegetable Gratin, a hearty layering of beets, carrots, sweet potatoes and more, baked, with a light creamy sauce and nice side salad. Second entree was La Pastilla, a phyllo-wrapped variety of Middle-Eastern-spiced vegetables on a tomato-chili chutney - delicious, and large enough to bring home leftovers. Erica was charming, helpful with food and wildlife-spotting recommendations. Really want to come back for the Three Pharaohs- three meat dishes that looked amazing.

Locally owned and operated, make a reservation because you don’t want to miss this gem in Jasper. Let’s start with atmosphere. Calm, lovely, classy, clean, friendly.. Service- Excellent- Food -I could write a full description about each dish my friends ate - because the food was beautiful (and yes, food can be beautiful). I ate the ribs and they were outstanding!! So was the pasta, and the salad, and the whole table raved about flavors and taste. I always check the bathroom and it did not disappoint - clean and classy. (If you are in a wheel chair or have trouble walking you might want take out as it wasn’t very mobility friendly) Make a reservation if you want to eat here. I’m sure you can stop by and try but this is also a local favorite so it’s often busy! Final word 10/Yummmmmmm.
Sherry D — Google review
The atmosphere was lovely, and the service was excellent, making for an enjoyable visit. However, I found the food didn't quite live up to the price. The ribs, for instance, were a bit dry on the inside, and their flavor mainly came from a light BBQ sauce. I was hoping for a richer flavor profile - maybe some marinade or smoky elements - to enhance the taste. It was a pleasant experience overall, but I wouldn't say it's enough to make me eager to return again.
Rob W — Google review
Enjoyed a lovely alfresco meal after a long day of driving. I was up for anything edible and the food turned out splendid. To start, the Spanish chicken wings had a nice spicy kick that paired beautifully with the super sweet caramelized onions. We weren’t sure what to expect from the bison ribs, but they were surprisingly tender and the accompanying sauce was full of flavor. The seafood pot was also tasty, though I wish there was more rice to soak up the delicious sauce. The salad was fresh and vibrant. Many of the dishes had bright citrus notes which went perfectly with our sangria and helped make it a perfect summer evening.
Kingramen — Google review
The Raven is probably the hottest ticket in town at the moment given the number of groups that were turned away without a reservation, and it certainly lives up to the hype. Food was inventive, sensibly used local ingredients and was very well prepared - the lamb in the three meats platter was particularly excellent as we do not normally like lamb but on this occasion its pungency was well-balanced with the char on the patty and the mint sauce. Service was also warm and attentive. Would strongly recommend.
John L — Google review
Loved our experience at The Raven. We made a reservation, which was critical – we heard people trying to walk in and told that it would be several hours before they could be sat. The truffle pasta was definitely a highlight. We also got an order of the schnitzel, which was delicious as well. The portion sizes are very generous; two mains with no appetizers was more than enough for the two of us. Big fan!
Jake B — Google review
After a day of hiking and researching restaurants, we opted for The Raven and what a great decision it was! The white sangria was excellent. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and our server Clarissa was wonderful, cheery and attentive. We shared nachos, falafel and wings to start. All were wonderful and the entrees weren’t rushed out. The entrees were 2 burgers and a salad with salmon on top…also all outstanding. Definitely a place I’d recommend and come back to.

Seafood restaurant
Restaurant
Nestled in a small mountain town, Fiddle River Restaurant offers a rustic-themed dining experience with stunning mountain views. The upscale menu features responsibly sourced Canadian seafood like crab, cod, salmon, and lobster, as well as game meats such as wild boar and elk. Diners can savor signature dishes like Earl Grey smoked candied salmon and braised elk stroganoff while enjoying the picturesque surroundings from the second-floor dining room.
It is a great experience to dine in this restaurant. I didnt reserve my book beforehand n i requested a table by window. The lady welcomed us was so friendly n did give me a table by the window which made us cheerful. Then we were served by a pretty lady and her name is Kea. Her service overall was perfect n made u feel so comfortable to dine in this restaurant. (NB:Some other Canadian restaurants just make u so stressful to dine in.) We ordered mussels , seafood soup and snapper. They are delicious! I strongly recommend this beautiful restaurant n hopefully u can be served by Kea. She is friendly n sincere overall!!

The food was exceptional! I had the seafood chowder and my husband had the seafood risotto. The food was fresh, creamy and bursting with flavour. The service was friendly, fast and our server checked on us many times and refilled our drinks. I would highly recommend. I also loved the artwork on the walls by a local artist.

Right across the Jasper train station for all your Rocky Mountaineering customers is a restaurant offers a wonderful variety of seafood paired with an amazing view of Jasper. The service was excellent from start to finish, and the staff did a great job accommodating our party of seven. We started with the fried calamari and shrimp appetizer, which was crisp and flavorful. For the main course, we shared the Fiddle Fish Pot—a delicious combination of salmon, snapper, prawns, mussels, and clams simmered in a tomato, saffron, and fennel coconut broth, served with French lentil coconut rice. It was rich, fragrant, and beautifully prepared. The rest of our group enjoyed the salmon, chicken breast, and pork chop, all of which were well-cooked and nicely presented. Overall, this is a fantastic spot for dinner in Jasper—great food, welcoming service, and views that make the experience even more special.
Noel A — Google review
To get to the restaurant there are a few flights of stairs. Unless there’s an elevator, I Didn’t see any wheelchair access. The Wait to be seated was very short. There were only a few other patrons inside. Ordered Two small shares for lunch, which were brought to the table shortly after. I don’t think the waitress was happy we only had water to drink and only the two shares. “Is that it?” Average service. For the value of the food I would have expected better serving size. Six shrimp and and small serving of Ceviche. Although there were lots of visitors in Jasper making street parking a challenge, Fiddle River used to be busy with customers. Maybe not so much now for a Noon lunch. Other lunch venues were busy with patios. Window views are dirty, and sadly wildfires ravished the mountain trees and no wildlife to be seen wandering the area.
David L — Google review
Service is top notch. Our server was Tomi, and she was super friendly and accommodating. We are a party of 3 adults and a dog ( in a carrier ), she provided blankets for us and water for our pet. There is a portable heated pole outside to keep you comfy. Food is fresh and very well presented. Overall, highly recommend this place

Outstanding place for fresh seafood and chill ambience. ordered: fiddle fish pot, seafood risotto, rainbow trout all fishes were fresh and plump risotto was creamy and extremely delicious with a wonderful blend of mushroom and seafood and great texture from the rice fiddle fish pot was tangy and refreshing with a little brininess from hidden capers tldr: you cant really go wrong with choices here but the risotto is an almost must-get
Caleb F — Google review
Food was excellent!!! The Schnitzel is very large and took up the entire plate lol. If you order this item I would definitely ask for a gravy or a sauce to go with it. Wish I took a picture but unfortunately I did not. Desert was good as well but note the Creme brulee was a cold desert not hot or at least when we ordered it. We really enjoyed this restaurant and will definitely be back again.

Delicious food and a lovely view. A busy restaurant, reservation recommended for the weekend. The staff were very kind and though we were late for our reservation, they sat us by the window :-) Our group of 5 got the - Pacific Rim Ceviche appetizer - Alberta Elk Stroganoff - Fiddle Fish Pot - Wild Game Meatloaf - Burger with fries Definitely a filling meal and very yummy, though the elk stroganoff was a little dry. Our favourites were the Fiddle Fish Pot and the Wild Game Meatloaf.

We haven't been to Evil Dave's Grill since they moved to this location, and since we were staying at the Marmot Lodge, we figured it was a great opportunity to have dinner at Evil Dave's with our children. I made a reservation through their website and I'm sure glad I did as the restaurant was full upon our arrival. People without reservations were either being turned away or having to wait, but it seemed as though most had made reservations. Our server was very helpful and offered some great suggestions. Our children both decided on the Hurtin' Alberta kids meal and they greatly enjoyed it, saying that the burger was better than the ones I make at home (how dare they 😆). They had some other great options for kids as well. The Little Buddha was their second choice. My wife chose the Karma Curry with chicken and naan bread, and it was easily the best dish that was ordered. It was very flavourful and filling, and I honestly wish I had ordered it myself. I ended up going with the Chef's Cut steak with daily vegetables which was perfectly cooked. Even though it was delicious with a peppercorn sauce that complimented the entire dish, I think I would've enjoyed the Karma Curry a bit more. We finished our meal by sharing their Chocolate Cake and ice cream. It definitely wasn't a cheap dinner for the family, but it was delicious and memorable. We'd definitely return again in the future.

Really enjoyed the menu here. I had the bison meatloaf and it was very good. Good service and comfortable environment. Would go again.

Food pretty great. Drinks not so much. Had a 'Cool Brew' cocktail (an espresso martini in all but name) that was the worst I've ever had. Their Instagram shows a better version than I was served, I think possibly the bartender's first day. For a place that boasts high quality cocktails, it was hilariously bad. See pic. Watched the bartender make it, he doesn't appear to understand how to shake a cocktail. Beer selection was also a lone hefeweizen. We were put on a table basically beside another large group, and seated after a couple who had a reservation a half hour after us, who got a much nicer table. Just felt like it was everybody's first day in hospitality. Everything except the food which I genuinely can't fault. My awkward order was accommodated perfectly. The chefs deserve a better everything else.

Evil Dave’s Grill – A Jasper Gem That Misses the Mark on Flavor The name Evil Dave’s Grill sets high expectations, and walking in, I was impressed. The decor is beautiful and captures the essence of Jasper perfectly—cozy, stylish, and inviting. The service matched the atmosphere: friendly, attentive, and efficient throughout the meal. Unfortunately, that’s where the praise ends. The food was a major letdown. Despite a menu that sounded promising, what arrived at the table was bland, uninspired, and lacked any real depth of flavor. It genuinely felt as if some of the dishes came straight from a can—overpriced and underwhelming. For the cost, I expected much more. Jasper isn’t short on great dining options, and sadly, Evil Dave’s didn’t deliver where it matters most: the food. With a bit more attention to flavor and creativity in the kitchen, this place could live up to its potential. Until then, it’s style over substance.
Yeshwani R — Google review
Very nice food, great service I went for the typhoon noodles with prawns and had the vicious hippies pan fried gyoza, lovely flavour throughout the noodles had a lovely background heat to them in a delicious sauce, the gyoza had a nice subtle gingery taste, id say slightly on the pricey side for what it is but can't fault the food as it was delicious and the service was impeccable.
Richard M — Google review
I would absolutely come back to eat here. They were decent to deal with, however, here are my qualms… I booked for a large group of people (25+) and they gave me a menu of select items, and prices. As soon as they found out it was for a wedding, the price on each item increased by 1$-5$. I was also disappointed that despite paying additional for dinner, there was no thank you or complimentary glass of champagne for myself or my husband. Two of our family members thought that was rather odd and quite unfortunate as we got married that day and chose to celebrate at evil Dave’s. Excellent food. Subpar service.
Taylee C — Google review
A huge thank you to the entire team at Evil Dave’s Grill! Not only was the food amazing — the burger was super tasty and not greasy at all, and the bowl was absolutely delicious — but the service was outstanding. Everything was super fast, and our waiter was genuinely attentive, professional, and truly interested in his guests. And now for the most incredible part… I lost my passport during my visit to Jasper and accidentally left it at the restaurant. Thanks to their honesty and kindness, they found it, reached out to me, and even arranged for express shipping to my hotel in Vancouver — I honestly wouldn’t have been able to return to my country without their help. I have no words to express how grateful I am. Wonderful people, amazing food, and truly exceptional service. Highly, highly recommended. Sandy

Syrahs of Jasper is an intimate and warm-hued eatery and bar located in downtown Jasper. The restaurant offers a changing menu featuring regional Canadian cuisine, with dishes made from fresh Alberta bison, Angus beef, British Columbian seafood, and creative sides like hand-made potato gnocchi or white-cheddar poutine.
What a surprise and first time customer!! Having lived and travelled many places this restaurant is right up there. Don’t be fooled by the storefront which is misconspicuous…what you get for quality, presentation and price is amazing. The duck, elk and salads are incredible. If you’re in Jasper… don’t miss having a diner here. I took a couple pics of our meals.

Shared a beautiful meal here celebrating my friends bachelor party. The service was excellent, and the wait staff was attentive. Would recommend for any special occasion or just treating yourself! The old fashioned was my fave drink on the menu and the amuse bouche was a lovely start to a delicious meal.
Shivonne D — Google review
Awesome food and service. We ordered wild boar chops which was one of their featured dishes for the evening. Juicy and tender, very nice. The wild mushrooms and lentil loaf was a bit burnt at the bottom. That's why four stars for food. House salad tastes delicious with house made dressings. Our server told us everything in the restaurant is house made.
Caroline W — Google review
Absolutely wonderful place that felt very cozy. The waitress was so attentive and kind. Her recommendations were on point and the freebie items of the bison tartar and the carrot and chive biscuit were delicious. The chef has made it so that most of the menu is gluten free, which I think is pretty cool. The bison striploin was scrumptious and to die for. They do have a plant based option on the lentil meatloaf which I thought was pretty well seasoned and very delicious. The desserts were out of this world! The goat cheese cheesecake with blackberries was so good that it tasted like an elevated version of an Oreo cheesecake. And the creme brule of the day was spoon-licking good. Overall, it is a place that you have to visit and have a dinner at least once! It's pretty romantic too, so bring your date!

This is the best restaurant we have been at in Jasper, and we have eaten in the top 10 of them. Everything was delicious and special. The server was so nice, when she asked if we needed anything else, I made a joke that world peace would be nice, so she drew me that. The food was Michelin level. If you want a better life, try their cheese cake. The drinks were also delicious. We will come back in our next visit.
Amir S — Google review
I was skeptical at first with the mixed reviews, but I am so glad I ignored the bad ones because I had an amazing dinner here. The elk carpaccio is honestly one of the best dishes I've had ever, even more enjoyable than some Michelin star restaurant dish and I'm really not exaggerating. The caramelized onion tart was also amazing, really amazing pastry and tomatoes and herbs were a perfect match. The bison rib eye was a highlight. Very flavourful and perfectly cooked, normally I don't like my streaks with any sauces but this sour cherry glaze worked so well with it. Elk Wellington...I'm normally not a fan of the tenderloin cut but this was really perfectly done as well. Keep in mind there's a strong mustard used for the Wellington. I liked it but for those who don't like the mustard/horseradish kick, be warned it is a strong flavour. I think you get the point of you're still reading my essay. Just eat here...you won't regret it! Well done Syrahs! I'd give 6 stars if I could.
Sam L — Google review
I came to this restaurant because we read amazing reviews, and they didn't disappoint. Make sure you book reservations ahead of time, because I saw numerous people get turned away due to the full capacity of the restaurant. Our server, I believe his name was Brian was an amazing host for the evening. He was welcoming, friendly, attentive and professional. For starters, me and my friend split the elk capasscio, and grime meatball. Elk capasscio was delicious, and packed with flavours. Super light and tasty. Grime meatball, I felt lacked flavour and felt like it was just sitting in tomato sauce and onions. Main course, I had the Elk Wellington, which was cooked perfectly. Pasty was very flaky and crisp, and elk was cooked to a nice medium rare. Mashed potato and berry sauce paired very well with everything. I highly recommend coming to this restaurant, as it was one of the highlights of my trip!
Terry C — Google review
The vibe inside is appreciated. Service was profession and attentive but casual, not trying to be too fancy. Complimentary (included) pallet cleansers and biscuit is a welcome and appreciated touch. The menu is intriguing. Elk carpaccio was good but I felt it was overpowered by everything else on the plate and the quality of those elements didn’t match the elk. Bison was good, like a slow cooked beef and the richness of the vegetable sauce was savourable. Unfortunately I found it hard to find the 3day smokey flavour, and the gnocchi was far more of potato flavour and texture then I would expect. Dessert also enjoyed. Overall all nice food, but at $90+ pp it was just too expensive for the flavours I got and the quality of the ingredients. I’m glad I tried but I wouldn’t return. I’ve had better for less.

This establishment is known for its lively atmosphere, making it a popular hangout spot, especially among the younger crowd. The menu features hearty options including vegetarian dishes and daily specials such as wing night on Wednesdays. Additionally, they are celebrated for their unique events like Sunday steak nights and Jasper in January where they introduced a special poutine inspired by authentic Indian flavors.
Just stayed at the Astoria for two nights and did dinner here both nights. The 32oz beer special is right on for Thursday. Had the big game burger with a side of poutine. Wife had the Canadian burger with fries. Burgers cooked great, hot and juicy with fresh fries. The poutine was also quite good fresh fries, hot gravy, and I think I even heard a curd squeak before the all melted. 5 stars Followed up on Friday for the special: 1/2 rack of ribs, 3 wings and fries. Again fresh fries under the honey/hot wings which gave the wings some sauce as well, bonus. You could bite the ribs without all the meat falling off but came off the easily. Great place with friendly staff and love being located to my hotel.

Stopped in here for a quick bite while in Jasper. Food and service was good. I had the Big Game burger. I was really hungry, and I love me some good meat, so I opted for the extra patty. When it came to the table I laughed - waaaaay to big to bite into! I brought the extra patty with me and ate it later.

My mom and I stopped here for a quick bite and drink. The classic burger and fish & chips we would recommend! Just like the Hazy IPA! Very kindly and patient personnel working there. Match on TV was quite loud, but later on the music turned on and it was a great vibe. Would come again here for sure.

Normally this place is great and I can’t fault. The team is awesome, but tonight I Ordered a burger to go - paid an extra $1.50 to add pickles. Got the burger home to see only 1 pickle, Kind of disappointing. Fries were also soggy and really salty :(

Went for appies and drinks. Restaurant is hot inside and the patio can fill up quick. Good menu variety. The potato skins were some of the worst I had, but the wings were good. Drinks were tasty but I was expecting more local/unique cocktails. Staff were awesome. Unique atmosphere.

Came here to watch a Stanley cup playoff game. They had one large projector screen and multiple TV's throughout, and played the game audio throughout the bar. It was clear the patrons were there for the game and there was a fun atmosphere throughout (aside from the Leafs getting bounced 6-1 by Florida...). TVs were loud enough to hear though overall it was not too loud in the bar. Excellent deals on pitchers of beer, and the food was pretty good. The chili and root vegetable salad were both of particular note. My friend ordered a "dog bone" which was one giant meaty rib and he enjoyed it. A nice sports bar!

Had a lovely lunch at this eclectic pub in the Astoria Hotel. Matt was our server who was kind, funny and shared the humanity of the impacts of the fire. He had a beautiful heart and we are so glad we went there. Matt you were terrific! Much love and thanks from your Golden Girls

My husband and I were in holiday in Jasper a few days ago and popped in for dinner. I had the Bison chilli loaded fries which was absolutely delicious and I couldn’t fault it. Really tasty and I’d highly recommend it. My husband had the Reubens sandwich and fries and loved that too. The service was great and the place had a good atmosphere and felt authentic. We are really glad we chose to eat there.

Terra, located at 200 Connaught Drive, offers a unique dining experience with its locally farmed and foraged fare. The restaurant's signature dish, Albertas Poutine, features thick-cut, triple-cooked potato chunks topped with a rich mushroom gravy and steak bites, garnished with dark green kale chips. The presentation alone is worth the price of $17. Additionally, Terra's modern design and innovative cooking perfectly complement the rustic mountain landscape.
Excellent food, though the cheesecake does have a hint of an aniseed. Waiter told us the food isn't necessarily foraged, but sourced from within 2 hours drive. Tofu dish was delicious and filling.

I chose this place based on the positive reviews, and while the design and ambiance are indeed beautiful, our experience fell short of expectations. We ordered a charcuterie board, but as shown in the attached photo, what we received was simply a plate with nine pieces of salami—something that was quite disappointing and unexpected. The chicken dish we ordered for dinner was not bad in terms of taste, though the portion size was quite small. Overall, while the setting is lovely and may be worth visiting once, I don’t see myself returning or recommending it to friends.
Paris P — Google review
If you have been looking for a stylish cafe for a long time, then you should definitely visit Terra. The eyes were happy to look around. The service is also at the highest level, we were brought wine to taste until we chose what we liked. The dishes are not big and in one of the dishes in the menu there is a leg and wings, but in fact there was only a leg (maybe we misunderstood something, of course). But the dessert was incredibly tasty. I will definitely come back here to enjoy the dessert and the style of the cafe again!

Had breakfast here one morning. It was fancy without being too much. They incorporate a lot of local ingredients and even small details like the side of beans were clearly made in house

Nice ambiance, pleasant staff and very delicious food. We ordered the burger - was great, and the red lentil tofu which was absolutely amazing. Most times is hard to find plant based dishes besides a boring salad but this red lentil tofu and veggies dish exceeded my expectations. We were hungry after a long day of travel and hiking and so glad we chose this place to eat dinner. We will be back during our stay in Jasper!

Nestled in the picturesque setting of Jasper National Park, Olive Bistro & Lounge Inc offers a remarkable dining experience with its chef-inspired Canadian cuisine made from seasonal ingredients. This family-owned restaurant has quickly become a local favorite, known for its delectable appetizers like the Coconut Crusted Prawns & Spicy Mango Sauce. The attentive and welcoming staff ensure that guests have an exceptional evening.
The restaurant offers a wonderful dining experience with warm and elegant decor, making it a great choice for all kinds of gatherings. Although the prices are slightly on the higher side, every dish we ordered was exceptional. The pasta stood out with its impressive flavors, and the wine was equally delightful. We also appreciated Olive’s attentive service, from recommending sauces to checking in on us throughout the meal, making the evening even more enjoyable.

Had a great time at Olive Bistro while in Jasper for the day. We enjoyed the patio (which is dog friendly), had great service from the staff and very much enjoyed pur food. We enjoyed the Elk Burger, Bison Burger and the Feature Burger (French Onion) all with their shoestring fries. Love the Farm to table menu and look forward to coming again.

I used to work here and I promise you the food is incredible everything on the menu especially the market menu in summer. I keep coming back year later. The owners are lovely and genuine. It’s locally owned and operated. A lot of hard work goes into this restaurant.
Elissa C — Google review
The food was just way too overpriced for boxed pasta and not even real tomatoes in their pasta sauce it tasted like sweet Campbell tomatoes soup and it was $34. I have had some amazing homemade pasta at restaurants in Edmonton for the same price with 10x the quad I of ingredients. Service was great and can’t blame the server. My partner got the French onion burger and it was good. Expensive for what it was but what do you except when you come to a tourist destination. Drinks were also mediocre. I got an espresso martini for $16 and the vodka tasted very cheap and there was shards of ice in my glass

Such delicious food and friendly service at Olive bistro and lounge! The vegan options were incredible! Really loved the tempura mushrooms and the dragon bowl with tofu. Italian restaurant
Fusion restaurant
ALBA Restaurant, located on the second floor in downtown Jasper, offers a casual dining experience with classic Italian dishes such as pizza, pasta, meat, and fish. The restaurant features an open kitchen and a terrace with beautiful mountain views. The menu includes crispy calamari, beef carpaccio, baked meatballs, and house-made pasta dishes along with beef, salmon, lamb, and duck entrees.
Came here with some coworkers and thoroughly enjoyed my food. A bunch of people were getting the espresso martinis and loved them. The drinks took a long time to come out but they were delicious! I ordered the Oxtail Pasta for dinner which was devine. The meat was so tender and the sauce was so tasty it was melting in my mouth. Even when I was full I couldn’t stop eating.

The portions here are big! Prices are also very competitive and execution of skills - although not top tier - is competent and experienced. Their Carbonara pasta and meatball appy are delicious. Mushroom ravioli is fresh. The slight let down were the gnocchis but overall we enjoyed everything. If you are craving for italian food, come to Alba!

Dinner at Alba was splendid!!🤩 I was so struggling to find a nice restaurant because.. if you are paying some money(I am a young worker so I don't have much money), you want it to be worth it! Alba is TOTALLY WORTH IT! Ordered Meatball, Mushroom soup, Mezzi Rigatoni, Alberta Bistecca. The food came out so quick and at once(loved it). They were all yummy and I liked that the steak here came out with mashed potatoes as well. The plating made the dish more luxurious and valuable. Kudos to the chef! The waiter was really nice and really made us our day as well. I wanted to treat my boyfriend and my little brother because boyfriend, he drove us YYC to Reddeer and my lil bro came to visit me from S.KOREA. They both loved it and I am sooo satisfied!! If you are struggling which restaurant to go, go ALBA☺️
Gyuri ( — Google review
I'll start off by saying we didn't plan to go here. The place we intended to go didn't have a table for us so we went here randomly which turned out to be one of the best meals we had in Jasper. This place is really underrated, which I'll get into at the end. First and most importantly the food was fantastic. Each dish was prepared just right. We had the shrimp risotto, gnocchi parmigiana, duck and sockeye salmon. Each dish was awesome, with maybe the only the salmon being just good. Both risotto and gnocchi were prepared just right and tasty without being overbearing. The duck was perfectly medium with a nice glaze and tasted delicious. The salmon was perfectly cooked but but in comparison to the other dishes, I could only rate it as good. I fully expected the salmon wasn't going to be spectacular, but felt I needed to get off the over eating of red meat and carbs that I've had all vacation. For desert, despite being full, we shared a tiramisu and rhubarb panne cotta. Both were small but very good. Just enough to hit the spot. We also had a bread basket and meatballs appetizers. The bread, while nice and warm, was just ok. The meatballs were nice. The portions for the gnocchi and risotto were just right. The salmon was as expected, but the duck was a bit smaller than what we would have liked. The great basket portion was a small considering it was just bread and we had to pay for it. The meat balls were a bit on the small side too. Despite the smaller portion sizes, the prices were very reasonable given the location, overall quality and taste of the food. I highly recommend and if it wasn't our last night in town, we'd certainly go back. I feel this place should be packed but somehow they aren't and I'd offer up some suggestions: Since they are on the 2nd floor, the restaurant need do a much better presentation for first impression at the entrance. We almost didn't go in because of that, but went anyway because of the good reviews on Google Maps and my kids were hungry The menu board frame looks worn and beat up. The glass is not clear, inside the frame it's a bit dusty, the wood frame itself is worn and water damaged. The menu board advertising "best prices in town" was a real turn off. No good restaurant would draw clients in with that catch line, or you'll get the wrong clients in looking for cheap prices and they'll be disappointed. The pictures on the menu board really do a disservice to the food. Both the colors and the actual photos are not appealing. The stair case needs a refresh or something. The concrete paint damaged stairs, metal hand rail makes this seem like a back door emergency escape, rather than the main entrance of a nice restaurant. I noticed many customers come up, looking confused and trying to figure if they were indeed in the right place and if they should really eat here. I can only assume many don't even make it up. Lastly if this was my place, I'd replace the folding sign with something a bit more upscale, maybe a chef caricature statue holding a chalk board menu, but this is a small detail. While the inside decor could use some work that would be a bigger investment. I'd first focus on the lower cost front door issues.

We had a great experience at ALBA this evening - the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming. Everyone found something they enjoyed for dinner, service was quick, and food was piping hot. The gnocchi with pomodoro was delicious and I loved the arancini. It was a great first meal in Jasper!
Sarah L — Google review
Overall food quality is reasonably good though not great (great means close to Michelin-star quality), am surprise we can have this quality in Jasper. The shrimp risotto too me is abit soft not al dente though if i have to complain. Service was great but somewhat understaff, they may need one more helper for better service.
The Y — Google review
Very nice restaurant. We ordered the risotto and arancini, they were pretty good. We also ordered the steak and the lasagna, but both were awful! The steak had a huge nerve through it, very cheap cut. The lasagna was half grease and oil. The service was excellent, they were apologetic and offered us free dessert and took the bad food off our bill. But even the dessert was sad. The tiramisu was more of a yellow pudding. Maybe they have a new chef? I’d say great service, not so consistent or good food.
Vicky R — Google review
Delicious! I particularly enjoyed the Crostini Platter and the Mezzo Rigatoni. Tuscan Arugula and Prosciutto salad was good, the baked meatballs however is just about average. Overall, nice setting and good service!

We ate here after hiking in the canyons. The space is very comfortable. We stayed in the patio & enjoyed the view. We ordered burgers for a quick meal - pulled pork burgers, beef brisket & bison burger. Everything was so tasty with the fries, coleslaw & especially the bison burger!

Our visit to Maligne Canyon Wilderness Kitchen was one of my favorite lunches on our BC & Alberta roadtrip mid-September. Service here was very efficient and friendly (even though it was pretty busy) and I liked that everything appeared well organized. The food was delicious; we had two sandwiches, one with soup and one with salad, everything was fresh, tasty and came out fast. We also had a drink which was very good. The views are very nice as well, especially if you catch a clear day. Don’t forget to check out Maligne Canyon while you’re here - it’s truly spectacular and beautiful!

Wow!! This was one of the most delicious meals we’ve had. Location/food/drinks/service/price all 5/5. If there’s a way to give this place 6/5, I would. We went on a weekday in July and sat on the patio - this is a late review. The outdoor environment is serene as you’re overlooking the Maligne Canyon trails. The indoor seating is cozy, modern and subtle. We tried a large variety of cocktails dishes, everything was well-executed, balanced yet complex. From the cocktail menu, I’d recommend the Rumpert’s Campfire! This whisky based drink is transformed with bitters, roasted marshmallows, and infused in a smoky wood plate. We each had a second round after quickly gulping down the first. Other favorites include the Prickly Bear and Observation Peak. On the food menu, I really enjoyed Bison Tartare, Brisket, and the Bison Striploin. My only regret is only having a day in Jasper, otherwise I’d be back for brunch and dinner a second time! Hopefully we’ll be able to get out there and excited to see what new cocktails and dishes land on their menu.

It offers a wide selection of craft beers on tap, delectable pub-style cuisine, and live music. This venue has gained recognition as one of the top small music venues in North America and is popular among both emerging and established musicians.
Located in the heart of Jasper, Alberta, the Royal Canadian Legion, Jasper Branch No. 31 offers a delightful dining experience amidst the pleasant outdoor surroundings. The weather was perfect during our visit, allowing us to relish the scenic beauty while indulging in a satisfying meal. The outdoor seating area comprised twelve spacious tables, accommodating groups of 4-6 people comfortably. Though renowned for their beer selection, we opted for a lighter fare. The Deep Fried Pork with sweet Thai sauce was a mouthwatering delight. The succulent pork was perfectly cooked, and the sauce provided a delightful balance of flavors. The Nachos, generously topped with melted cheese, jalapeños, and salsa, were a crunchy and savory treat. For dessert, we couldn't resist the apple crumble cone, which was accompanied by a generous dollop of whipped cream. The combination of warm, cinnamon-infused apple crumble and cool, creamy whipped cream was simply heavenly. The service was attentive and friendly, and the staff ensured a pleasant dining experience throughout. During my recent visit to Jasper on holiday from the UK, I had a couple of beers and a most convivial evening with some of the regulars, who welcomed me warmly. We traveled through Jasper on our way to Prince George, August 28th. We stumbled upon the Legion by accident. We discovered they had a dog friendly patio and we were sold. Su greeted us with a grand smile, brought a large bucket of water for the dog right away. On our return trip September 2, headed straight to the legion for lunch. We were greeted by a lovely woman (I didn’t get her name). We asked if Su was in so we could say hi. She came out with dog treats and that same smile. She greeted us as long lost friends. This is an exceptional place to go! Minors accepted until 8 pm.

A great hidden gem in Jasper! I heard there was a legion in town but never expected it to be open for lunch on a weekend. The service was great and the food was tasty, typical pub fare. They seem to have a great live music scene there so it would definitely be worth checking out when a show is playing. It’s cheaper than most other Jasper restaurants and you get to support a local legion, support our vets!

Service & atmosphere were both fab. Lots of gluten free options including pudding, delicious cocktails too. The only reason it’s not 5/5 is because both steaks came slightly overdone. We requested medium but received medium-well. Food was all lovely nonetheless.

Very good experience. The restaurant itself is unique, the second story concept is nice but the stairs up are steep. Beautiful once you get up there and is nicely set up. We sat outside on the patio to enjoy the view, spectacular! The service was outstanding which is unusual in tourist town where getting good people is hard. The food was excellent, happy hour pricing is good deal an worth ordering. We had the Tuna Poke and chicken tacos and they were delious. Prices reasonable. Great experience. Recommend 👍

We stopped in for happy hour and came back an hour later for sunset dinner. The views are amazing. The grapefruit smash and margaritas were delicious. We had a few oysters with fresh grated horseradish and a vinaigrette that was so good. The avocado dip was fresh and roasted corn added a great sweetness. Chips and salsa come free at happy hour and both were great. We had calamari as well again delicious. For our meal we did the surf and turf which was the only thing I was disappointed by. The steak, a ribeye, was over cooked and the “prawns” were just small shrimp with no flavor. Nonetheless we’d still go back again!

We were so lucky to stumble upon this place during our trip! They had a full plant based menu with clearly marked vegan options. The server was well informed of options. We had an amazing non alcoholic cocktail… the strawberry hibiscus mule. The bitters in it absolutely just made the drink. Sooooo good. We were able to sit on the patio with no reservations and the view was stunning. We had the Vegan Burger which was a real veggie patty and the Vegan Tofu Sesame Citrus Noodle Bowl. The bowl was outstanding! Every member of staff we spoke with was wonderful.

Nature & Parks
Spirit Island, located on Maligne Lake in Jasper, is a tiny but popular spot for sightseeing boat tours. It's known for offering stunning views of the surrounding forest and mountains. This location has been a favorite among photographers since the 1940s when Peter Gales' image of Spirit Island gained international attention. Today, visitors can take boat tours with Maligne Lake Tours, including special photography-focused cruises.
The highlight of our trip! We had the most incredible experience on the Maligne Lake Cruise, a true 5-star adventure that exceeded all expectations. The history surrounding Maligne Lake is fascinating - this glacial masterpiece dates back millions of years, with depths reaching an astounding 300 meters and a temperature that'll give you chills, but the breathtaking beauty warms your soul. As we sailed, I couldn't help but reflect on the spiritual and cultural significance of this place to the Indigenous peoples. The mountains surrounding Spirit Island hold a special energy, and visiting this iconic spot felt like a sacred pilgrimage. Speaking of Spirit Island, its history is awe-inspiring - imagine the stories it could tell of the countless visitors who've marveled at its beauty over the years. We were able to experience this cruise through the Banff Pursuit Package, which was a fantastic decision as it significantly reduced the cost. The 1.5-hour cruise was perfectly paced, and the 20 minutes spent on Spirit Island felt like a dream. For those planning to embark on this journey, I have a few invaluable tips. When you first board, snag a seat near the front to capture those stunning photos of Spirit Island framed by majestic mountains. After your must-have shot, head to the lower area for closer island pics - you won't believe the detail you'll capture. And don't forget the back of the boat while it's moving away from the island - the perspective is simply magical. For the best lighting and most picturesque moments, I recommend booking the latest cruise. The way the sunlight plays with the water and mountains is truly enchanting, and your photos will be nothing short of extraordinary.

I took the Maligne Lake cruise and stopped at Spirit Island, the classic Jasper photo spot. It was cloudy and drizzling today, but that added a quiet and mystical feel. The island feels peaceful, almost like a fairytale. I only wish the stop could have been longer.

Spirit Island is one of the best places I have ever visited in my life. The place is exactly as described and even much more as one can really feel it only when you are there to experience it. Just like all the good things in life, the visit was only for 15 minutes as per the cruise schedule. The island is island when water is more and a peninsula when water is less. There are exactly 27 trees on the island. It is a very serene place and surely lifts ones spirits. I was happy to learn that the Canadian government has allowed the tribes to do their ceremonies after a gap of 💯 years. I'm also glad that no one is allowed to set up their feet on the island. The vegetation in the area is very delicate and only gets four to six weeks to grow every year as summers are really short. Please visit it serenely and delicately.

Probably the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen. Also sacred land for the local native people.

On a recent trip to Jasper, we visited Maligne Lake and Spirit Island both of which are among the most amazing, breathtaking, and culturally significant sites I have visited. Maligne Lake is a huge expanse of water surrounded by untouched wilderness that could have been an image on a postcard. The stunning views go on and on for miles before reaching Spirit Island. On the way we were informed of the history of the area, the original custodians of the land and how to best respect the area. When we arrived at Spirit Island, we were truly speechless at its beauty. The glacial green water and picture-perfect Island are not done the justice they deserve on Instagram, and I would urge anyone who can see it in person to do so. There is something really special about the place that you can just feel, and you really can understand why the first nations people hold it in such high regard. You could honestly spend days just gazing at the place and still never get tired of it. Nothing I can say, or any pictures would describe how amazing this place is and instead I would urge anyone who can go to just do it and see for yourself.

Amazing place loved my time there, just a gorgeous place, what a privilege. arrived via the cruise boat. Highly recommended.

We took the cruise out to Spirit Island and had an amazing experience with great weather. Would highly recommend either renting a kayak/canoe or booking a trip on the cruise to experience being surrounded on all sides by 1 single mountain range.
Nikhil G — Google review
Amazing spot with an amazing view. The island is not really an island, but beautiful nonetheless. We went in the morning, so we didn't get very good photos as the sun was directly in front. I understand the best time to go is in the afternoon around 2:30 or 3:00.

Nestled just before the gates of Jasper National Park, Folding Mountain Brewing Taproom and Kitchen is a must-visit destination for travelers exploring the Edson and Hinton areas. This charming brewpub combines mid-century diner aesthetics with mountain chalet vibes, thanks to the creative vision of Laurie Griffiths, who drew inspiration from origami art and geological formations. Guests can enjoy a delightful selection of local draft beers while dining on their scenic deck in the evening.
Visiting the Rockies. Came here for a beer after a long day. The woman welcoming us was not very keen to let us sit outside but she finally accepted. We had amazing beers. Will come back later this week to try their food and change my 4 to 5 stars ;-) Edit : 5 stars after our burger today. The beer is still amazing. So is the food. You get what you pay for. The quantities are more than enough, Jesus Christ I’m full of good things.

Everything about this place is perfection!! The atmosphere and servers are all great. Dogs are welcome and greeted with a water bowl and a bag of treats. The patio is cozy and warm; but if you are perchance chilly they will bring you a blanket to use while you are eating.. Speaking of eating, their food… i’d go die for!! Extremely fresh and all house made. The gravy in the poutine is killer. 100% recommend!

After leaving Jasper, we stopped in at this amazing restaurant and it quickly became one of the highlights of our trip. The atmosphere and view were absolutely stunning. What really stood out was the little touches that made the experience unique, they had board games to enjoy, the food was high quality and delicious, and they even offered honey for my chamomile tea, which was such a thoughtful detail. Our server, Elysia, was absolutely top-notch. She was attentive, kind, and made the entire dining experience even better with her warm service. It’s clear that customer care is a priority here. If you’re looking for a restaurant near Jasper with stunning views, quality food, and exceptional service, this is definitely the place to stop. Highly recommend!

We had supper at 7 pm on a Tuesday. It's a modern well decorated restaurant. The place was busy. Most diners were inside - it was cool out. We were seated quickly, but quite a few behind us had 20 min or more wait times. We had a sour beer and two porters which were good; one diner really liked the porter. Meals included a fire roasted tomato soup, a shared buttermilk fried chicken sandwich, and a grilled cheese "of the week" with prosciutto, salami, etc. Meals came with fries. All were good but the prosciutto on the grilled cheese made it too salty. Service was fast and friendly, but the staff got a little behind overall customer demand near meal's end. We'd go back if in the area again, and can recommend this restaurant for both beer and food.

The brewery was great. Stopped by with some friends for a quick bite. The food was alright, the spinach dip was good but there were more chips than dip. The nachos were likewise delicious but could have used some more fresh flavours as it was pretty savoury. The atmosphere was excellent, as there was live music playing and the mountain view is stellar.

40min north of Jasper is Folding Mountain Brewery! Perfect stop off for some refreshing beers, if you cannot make your mind, opt in for their flights. As for food, I had their beef brisket sandwich served with fries that was satisfying. If I do come back, I'd opt in for their pizza, which looked delicious! Overall great place, great service and reasonably priced.

Great little place just after you exit Jasper on the Yellowhead Highway 🛣️ I had the restaurant’s version of the Ruben sandwich and, I LOVED 🥰 it. It was very nicely done with subtle and, delicate flavours combined just right to make a delicious taste combination. I enjoyed it with the pineapple 🍍 beer 🍺 and the two together complemented each other perfectly🤗Our service was great even though the restaurant was super packed and a bit noisy. We will definitely return and, try your other items on the menu. Thank you 😊

This place was decent. We sat in what was referred to as the beer garden. The service was ok. The server wasn’t too happy but did a decent job. The food was decent but definitely didn’t blow us away. We had the chicken club and the beer braised brisket sandwich. We actually probably wouldn’t come back here for the food.

Great place, we ordered a salad, a pumpkin soup with homade bread, angus beef (super tender, buttery) and their desert. My husband escually loved the s'more old fashioned. Everything was delicious, and super fast service. For the quality, the prices are more than fair. Definitely recommend this place to anyone coming to Jasper.

20% forced tip??!! Slow service, took about 20-25 min just to have my drink while it was not busy. We were 12, everyone left disappointed with taste and portions considering the price. When the bill came, surprise, they already added 20% tip included in the bill, no way of giving less or more. We asked about it and no shame at all from the waitress. Unacceptable!!

Excellent good tasting food and service. Food comes out fast as well. Was blown away by their focaccia, 20/10.

Everything was good until the bill, they added 20% to the price because we were 6 people, really rude. We asked if we would sit at two separate tables, they would charge an additional 20%, they said no Obviously we won't be coming to the restaurant again. Be careful and sit at separate tables.

I was recommended the pizza after a long day skiing, and how amazed I was at so many things. First off the service is absolutely amazing with informative staff that answered my questions on the menu and even happily remembered to move me to the dining tables from the bar in case one opened up. The gourmet pizza was an absolute treat. The sauce and ingredients are so fresh and well made. I was even given the option to choose two of the 3 or 4 types of pizza and have a split pizza so I can try more flavors. Who would've thought there'd be such a gem of a restaurant in my hotel. Definitely coming back here on my next stay.

I haven’t dined in this place but we ordered to go for our room. I give them 5 stars for the food. We ordered the fungi pizza and raspberry cheesecake. The pizza was to die for!! They don’t cheap out on the ingredients so every bite is bursting with flavour. The cheesecake you can tell is homemade. It was very light, fluffy and even came with some white chocolate chunks.

The roasted carrot soup and the pear salad were fantastic! I ordered the salmon, and my husband ordered the alberta steak. Both were a bit overcooked but still delicious. Apple crisp a classic.

The restaurant prides itself on providing fast and friendly service to ensure a memorable dining experience for visitors. Guests can expect a warm and inviting atmosphere while indulging in the finest comfort food.
It was our 1st day arriving in Jasper from the train station. A short walk away and we stumble on this cafe. There were seats available for walk in and the service was welcoming. We were seated quickly and able to put our luggage aside with their help. There was a great choice if waffles with good portion and there were choices of juices as well. It was reasonably priced and the waffles are crispy on the outside and the texture is chewy and moist, very delicious. Most importantly, Tejas, who is our service staff welcomed us in warmly and also provide outstanding service. We were well taken care of on our day of arrival. Tejas made a great difference to our day and we had a great meal there.

This is the best place we ate at in Jasper during our 5 day stay! We actually ate here twice because it was so good! Our waiter was awesome and the waffles and breakfast are out of this world! Highly recommend this place. You can come get a meal from here or get a dessert waffle!
Matt J — Google review
A very nice place on the main street of downtown Jasper. Servers are attentive and friendly. The waffles are made fresh, but i find the portions a bit on the small side, and both our chicken waffles had a bit too much Mediterranean taste. The shakes are reasonable priced, and very tasty. They offer a large variety of desserts as well.

Amazing Breakfast Spot! We had a fantastic breakfast here. The food was excellent—especially the waffles! We tried the chicken & avocado and the maple blueberry waffles, and both were delicious. The view is stunning, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The staff were friendly, attentive, and great with kids. Highly recommend this place for a relaxed and tasty breakfast.

This restaurant is highly overrated. We had avocado waffle and sunrise waffle. The fried chicken was hard and dry. The avocado waffle was topped with plenty of spicy sauce, which was not matched with avocado. Sunrise waffle got little fried eggs which was also dry. Just worse than breakfast meal in any fast-food chains.

Absolutely loved our waffles here! I had the brownie waffle and added vanilla icecream. Hubby and I are from Australia and we are travelling for a few weeks around Canada. I would come here for the views… not for the food unfortunately. The setting is very beautiful and upscale. If you’re lucky to snag a window seat, the view opens up to the beautiful valley and mountains. Food, unfortunately, i cannot recommend. The gnocchi was rather bland and flavorless. The bison on the bison slides was overcooked. Few saving graces were the caramelized onions on the slides and the price. Our waitress was great though the kitchen took very long for so few tables

Went here for breakfast as there is nothing else around (Jasper is 40 mins away and Hinton 25 mins) Food was a bit weird tbh. Had the Outlander breakfast which claimed to have hash browns which were just little dry baked potatoes, half a sausage (!) and dry toast. Service was nonexistent and I ended up grabbing some left over butter from another table. My wife had the granola which looked ok, but again had some dry toast on the side as well. The outdoor patio area was nice and has great views. Would we come here again? No. I’d drive 40 mins into Jasper

Had one of the best dining experiences of our whole trip here. The tomato soup was to die for, the duck was delicious and the chicken was cooked and flavored to perfection. Don't forget the beautiful view! Reservation is recommended. The staff were absolutely lovely as well. They were so accommodating with our dietary restrictions and desire to choose just the right wine. Ask for Darcy! He made our night extra special. Hope we can come back on our next trip. Would recommend 100%.

Great breakfast/brunch spot for a nice view. Not sure how dinner is over there but the atmosphere and service was wonderful. Jessica, our server was phenomenal and did very well to set a high standard. If in the area, would be back. No halal options, vegetarian options are limited, but we made substitutes work in our favour.

Excellent food. Highly recommend this restaurant. Often even at high end restaurant, there is some dishes or desserts that are not as good as others. This was not the case at Stone Peak Restaurant; honestly cannot say which dish was preferred. They all were well done and very enjoyable. Our server Michael was excellent too. Friendly, talkative and made the experience even better. He told us the chef especially makes each of the desserts himself. Definitely would come here again. What I didn't like is when making a reservation, the person who answered the phone made it sound so busy that our only option to get a table was 5pm or 8:30pm. We took the 5pm slot and finished dinner at 7:30pm. It was fairly empty so I can't imagine they would have a sitting and expect them to finish in 1 hr when it took us 2.5hrs to eat. We couldn't understand why we were given such bad options with time.
J Y — Google review
My wife and I decided to visit for dinner on our last night in the area before travelling back to Banff. The restaurant was not overly busy - 20 covers between 4 waiting staff. Our starters were nice (albeit the gazpacho was way too big for a starter) but this is where it started to go downhill. Our main courses arrived before our starters had even been cleared, my wife’s cocktail which she hadn’t finished was briskly taken away and replaced with her wine she requested for the main course. When the mains did arrive (baring in mind our starters hadn’t been cleared) the waiter didn’t have a clue what to do and even asked if we wanted to carry on with our starters while being served the mains (very strange). The chicken main was extremely rich and the chicken was almost indistinguishable between the other ingredients in the dish as it had been mashed into oblivion. The burger was at best average and dry with the main taste of overly salty bacon jam with the bison patty being dry. The redeeming feature of the meal was the dessert however this didn’t make up for the lack of process behind the waiting staff I.e clearing a course before the next had even left the kitchen or the subpar and overly priced savoury dishes! All in all a very disappointing meal only saved by a nice view of the sunset over the distant mountains. For $272 I’d have expected a much better experience and would not recommend to any friends or family visiting the area considering other options (even driving 45 minutes to go back into Jasper!)

I'll start by saying we've been here numerous times and LOVED IT. Everytime we are on our way through we always stop for dinner. The staff are amazing, atmosphere breath taking and food mouth watering good. We have no problem paying for a fine meal and a nice night out but tonight we left disappointed to say the least, which is a shame. 58$ for a plate with a small 4 ounce (6 max) mouth watering tenderloin steak and less than half a cup of creamed potatoes with no vegetables. 5$ for a Folding Mountain pint on happy hour prices which was as always amazing and 15$ for a single ounce Ceasar OUCH. Every other time we've been for dinner we were offered bread and oil as well as vegetables with our meal. It's sad to leave this review of the beautiful Stone Peak but I guess you can put a price on quality and it's more than 60$ a plate

The restaurant at Maligne Range is a stunning and meticulously designed space that offers a bright spot of positivity in Jasper.
Me and my sister drove into Jasper from Canmore and we were recommended this place by a friend who used to live in the area. This place did not disappoint! Started out ordering a ‘Skyline sour’ with a shareable charcuterie board which hit the spot! Was also recommended the ‘Beef Short Rib’ which again was spectacular! Massive portion of meat as it was completely boneless and smoked to perfection—came with some veggies and ordered with fries. My sister got the ‘West Coast Salmon’ which she said was and I quote ‘to die for’. Altogether a great restaurant with friendly and fast service! Would definitely recommend.

Went here for brunch and were too late so we had lunch. We got a seat on the outside railing and the views were beautiful. We both had the beef brisket sandwich and it was SO GOOD!!! My husband had the local whiskey flight and bought a bottle to bring home. Surprisingly I even liked the whiskeys. We’d go back again while here and highly recommend it to anyone visiting and wanting a quality meal and service.

We dropped in at Maligne Range after a grueling day driving up the Icefields Parkway (including raging at various incompetent drivers) and were not disappointed. The Caesar salad was seasoned just right. Grilled chicken was tender and juicy. Brisket was absolutely divine and the accompanying smashed potatoes were delicious. Service was (as with many of my previous reviews) helpful and attentive especially with the whisky explanations - our server having studied in Scotland may have had something to do with it! We will certainly be back.

It's my birthday and I get breakfast. We have a wonderful coffee and order our food. I'm excited. I open my utensils to a huge finger print on my cutlery. I'm actually fairly disgusted. We were given new cutlery. We receive our food, it looks amazing. I'm very excited. Server comes by with pepper or salt. She says something about "we're FANCY here.." I nearly laughed after hearing that because if it was fancy I wouldn't have received dirty cutlery. Was an awkward experience after that and it stuck with me for a while after. Food was delicious!

We had a really lovely atmosphere in the restaurant—the ambiance was cozy and the setting quite pleasant. But we waited quite a while after being seated before anyone came by to take our order. After browsing the menu, there was still no one checking in, and our water glasses stayed empty for a long time before anyone refilled them. When our short ribs arrived, we weren't given steak knives, and the meat was a bit dry. On the bright side, the mashed potatoes and vegetables were well done. We asked the server for salt and pepper, which was appreciated. Overall it was a mixed experience—staffing seemed slow, but the food and atmosphere had their highlights. We still left the customary tip—at least 18%—when settling the bill.

We had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at The Maligne Range in Jasper! The environment was so much fun, and we especially loved being able to eat outside, soaking in the lovely Jasper atmosphere. Our food was delicious. My friend raved about the brisket, saying it was perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. But the real showstopper for us were the black garlic truffle fries – they were, in a word, amazing! Seriously, if you go, you have to try them. A special shout-out goes to our server, Melanie (if I remember her name correctly!), who was an absolute delight. She was incredibly pleasant and super efficient, making sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. Her excellent service definitely added to our positive experience. We highly recommend The Maligne Range for anyone looking for great food and a lively atmosphere in Jasper!

Ursidae Lair is a unique spot in Jasper that transforms from the Bearspaw Bakery during the day into an intimate lounge specializing in scotch at night. The bar offers a variety of scotch cocktails, snacks, bakery items, and a wide selection of scotches from different regions of Scotland. Guests can also enjoy cigar options.
We had to check out the bakery that turns into a scotch lounge, such a cool concept. I have to say the whisky sour was the best I’ve ever had. The drinks were well thought out and perfectly crafted. There were speciality cocktails which were themed and very tasty. The patio was pet friendly and the couches were very comfortable to sit on. Honourable mention would be the espresso cheesecake, it was amazing.

While visiting a local liquor store, came across an ad for this place. I’m so glad we stopped by. Bakery turned into lounge in the evening. There are a few tables and chairs and a couple spots at the bar. Great cocktail and scotch list. If we hadn’t come straight from dinner, I would have enjoyed something from the snack list. The couple next to us had the carrot cake and it looked delicious. We enjoyed a couple very reasonably priced cocktails. One even came smoked! The ice cube in my cocktail was extensive, with an orange rose. Our server was friendly and welcomed us back in the morning when it turned back into a bakery.

This place is the best kept secret in Jasper. Beautifully crafted cocktails made with so much love. Be patient they are worth the wait! I had the Calm Cocktail which was on the Japanese Scotch monthly feature special and it was really amazing. The atmosphere is great, soft music, lovely decore. A real treat. Going back tomorrow night and will definitely visit every time I come back here.

A wonderful spot for something different…if you know it is there and can find it! It is in the same spot as the bear paw bakery (day time) but transforms the bakery into a lovely intimate lounge ( in the evening) specializing in scotch but having other options as well. I had a lovely cocktail (scotch based, i am not a scotch drinker) called forest fire. The bar tender recommended it was a good “entry” style for a non scotch drinker and he made it to perfection, and yes it was smoked! Very cool. My husband very much enjoyed his flight of scotches. A lovely evening. We would love to see this business succeed so …please please please have some sort of sign on the sidewalk? More people need to know about this place. Not sure what would work but we were standing right beside it and were not sure it was the right place until we saw a small flyer on the window. We almost missed out on a real jewel.

Really great scotch spot with a wide variety of drinks offering preset flights and the opportunity to build your own. The scotch is served with a water pipette where you can see how adding water can change which flavours are expressed. Our host Memo was great and loved doing what he was doing 🤙

We had a great time at Ursidae tonight. Great atmosphere, excellent service, and awesome scotch. We enjoyed 2 flights, and would have loved some dessert (but were too full from dinner - they looked amazing). We love the premise of it being a bakery by day and scotch bar by night. We’ll definitely be back any time we’re in town.

I didn’t know it was a scotch tasting bar before coming and wasn’t sure if I’d like the options because I’m not huge on scotch. All of our groups cocktails were amazing and made with care. We were thoroughly impressed and the experience was very much worth it!

We have always loved Bearspaw Bakery in Jasper, but on our recent trip we discovered the Bakery transforms itself into a Scotch tasting bar at 7:30 pm. What a great idea to utilize space and they do a great job. They offer Scotch cocktails, simple snacks, bakery items, a fabulous section of scotches and for those who imbibe...cigars. You can order a flight of 4 wee drams, build your own or have a dream of your favorite from a great section from various regions of Scotland. Beautifully presented in a quaint atmosphere its a wonderful way to wrap up a great evening. Be sure to check it out!!
