Went to the night market, great food and lots of choice. There was a great atmosphere with lots of people all walking round. The beef noodles were great as was the deep fried octopus.

Very lively both at night and during the day. In the morning -afternoon, it's a market selling various things such as vegs and fruits, banchan, kitchen utensils, clothes, wooden tools, flowers, plants and some cafes/ restaurants). At night (I believe only on Fridays and Saturdays) there's a night market, around 50 or so stalls in the middle. Tbh, the morning market is more interesting with authentic experience. The night market only sell modern Korean food, mosty sweet and deep-fried things.

2025.9.17 (Wed) I have to admit: I have seen many markets in Korea (Seoul, Busan, Jeju)…..this is the least lively. I came during the day, and midweek. The tourist office says it is “open”. I thot the redeeming factor is the bimbimbap. Even that eatery is closed 😅

It's really sad that I see some empty store fronts, especially for the ones outside. But I'm glad to see that there is still a lot of merchants that are able to make it through here. Not sure if like modern centers, do the merchants all pay the market, or does the transaction go to them directly? I also wonder if most of the restaurants here take credit card. If not, it's very limiting. Didn't buy anything, just walked through. BUT there's tons of stuff to get here.

Situated on the Makgeolli Alley, this restaurans is considered a hot place among rice wine lovers. Famous for its Mkgeolli (rice wine), Jeonju has a lot to offer beside the Hanok village. However I was not impressed by the food at this restaurant. It's just regular Korean menu with nothing special. The wine was good and the staff friendly. The price is balanced.

This is the best magoli in the area, very smooth and fresh taste. They also provide delicious meals let you enjoy while you wnjoy magoli, highly recommended if you visit Jeonju!!!

A phenomenal experience, and a must do if you are in Jeonju or just Korea in general. The place is so lively and fun and fully of people having a good time. The food is excellent and it just keeps coming! They bring you dish after dish until you can't eat anymore, and it's all complementary with the Makgeolli. We had fish, kimchi, pork, soup, rice, so many things I can't even remember them all, and all very delicious. The staff were a delight, so friendly and helpful and trying to accommodate us in English. I am really impressed and you must go to this place.

Really cool vibe here. It's flooded with Koreans, and feels really authentic. It's not fancy, rustic feel to it, which adds to the pureness. They actually have 2 locations diagonal from each other. We were directed to the second one when they first was too full. At that rate, we still had to wait to get inside the 2nd one. THAT'S how popular this place is. This is one of the best plain makgeolli's I've had. I enjoy flavored makgeolli more, but this was delicious. The food was very good too. Loved it here!

We ordered the Kalguksu and Jjolmyeon. The Kalguksu soup was delicious, it had perilla powder and seaweed o top. We both preferred the Jjolmyeon, the noodles were chewy with nice fresh cabbage, zucchini topping and the red pepper sauce just made it more flavourful. :)

I don’t understand why this place only has a 3,7/5. The kalguksu is the best I’ve had in Korea so far. It’s super tasty with lots of spices and the broth is thick and contains an egg which makes it even more ‘full’. The staff isn’t rude or anything, it was just a bit weird that when she brought over my order the only thing she said was ‘pay now’… Anyway, loved the food and that’s what I came for.

Food was delicious. The mangdu (dumplings) were fresh. The kalguksu was a mouth watering bowl. It left you feeling a bit lighter after eaten so much meaty meals during our stay. The price for both mangdu and kalguksu was KRW 17,000. The service was average but efficient. I lower my expectations on hospitality after first few days in South Korea. I just wish I have enough time to try the Hanok gimbab on the same street.

If you came to Jeonju, there is some place you should go to. Sambeak House is one of them and I highly recommend this place. Sambeak means 300 in korean which is this restaurant sells over 300 dishes in one day. But I can't agree on that, because it tastes so brilliant that this restaurant could sell over 600 dishes in one day. 🍚

These sweets are disappointing. They look good, but the taste is not great. They have a really fake flavor that doesn’t taste like real chocolate at all. It seems like they use a lot of artificial colors just to make them look chocolatey, but it’s not true. They remind me of a snack popular when I was a kid called Phoskitos. Bakery is great, lots of variety of cakes and bakes. The choco pies are a bit too sweet for my liking though, particularly the original one. I tried the original and banana one. The mains were simple, yet delicious. The side dishes were also very tasty, except the bean sprout soup or whatever it was. That didn't have much flavour, but everything else was great. My seafood pancake could have done with maybe another minute or so of cooking because some bits tasted a tiny bit undercooked and had that raw flour flavour. In total I paid 30,000 won. I want to go back to try the raw beef bibimbap. I left feeling full and satisfied.

Ordered the dolsot bibimbap. Tasted healthy and fine. Vegetables looked very fresh. The air circulation inside the restaurant was kind of smokey. I ate it once but don’t think I would return. They validate parking for one hour.

It made the Michelin guide for a reason. Pretty great bibimbap, the pancake and beef are quite tasty also. The atmosphere is open and vibrant, simple yet traditional. We had no issues getting a table as walk-ins.

The waiter accommodated our request and made the Dolsot Bibimbap vegetarian for us. They also refilled the side dishes, which were just as tasty as the bibimbap. I would definitely come back. Highly recommend to vegetarian and vegans 🌱 🥑 who want to enjoy bibimbap!
