Night club
M1NT is a sought-after nightlife spot in Shanghai, known for its lavish opulence and stunning views from its 24th-floor location. The club features indoor shark tanks, exuberant decor, and a high-quality bar with pricey drinks. It often hosts international DJs and singers, offering a chic lounge experience with special effects. However, visitors should be aware of the strict dress code that prohibits shorts or sneakers.
Love its vibes!! Music is a bit commercial but that's why I like it. It is not too crowded or huge but a bit cozy for a club. It's more like a lounge bar with loud music and busy stage. Staffs were so nice they offered me some free drinks! I definitely want to come back.
Solene — Google review
The nightclub closed and is now a bar/lounge called AS
Legacy C — Google review
Music was loud and good, crowd was massive on rainy Saturday night. Less locals , mostly westerners/Russians. A/C seems not working. They asks me to pay 100 RMB for entry with one complimentary drink because it was a so-called special event which I realized none where there. Rude staff at the entrance on the ground floor.
Vishal P — Google review
there is no longer open. It's already closed. never try to visit. You can't find any club there. Just try other places instead of waste your time
Saikhnaa — Google review
Cool bar with great view to the city!
J J — Google review
Went to the nightclub, so I don't know about the restaurant. DJ was playing some excellent nu disco you can dance to, think kinda funky house that doesn't seem out of place in a club. Music was a little bit less loud than some other clubs, so you are actually able to have a conversation one on one with some shouting. They have a quite upscale decor and atmosphere with black leather couches, black tables, pink lights and even a 10 meter something long shark tank. Dress code is usually elegant which means any clean clothes and fresh grooming as long as you look good. No slippers, shorts (men) or sport shoes. Had a lot of young, Western people in a good mood.
Viktor A — Google review
Important notice! The place is closed since years already
Bing B — Google review
"Awesome shark tank" was sad to see them in such a small confinement. Animals used as bar decor- you can tell they hate it and the loud music freaks them out. 😞 this place supports animal abuse.

Bar
Bar Rouge in Shanghai is a trendy nightlife spot located atop Bund 18, offering a unique nightclub experience. Since its opening in 2004, it has become a prominent fixture in Shanghai's nightlife scene, attracting both local socialites and international DJs. The club hosts various themed parties with costumed dancers and bottle rituals, drawing in a diverse crowd that includes baby-faced billionaires, F1 drivers, and Hollywood celebrities like Tom Cruise and Scarlett Johansson.
Nice club n bar in Shanghai The Bund area, with a great view of Shanghai city in the night from the roof top. Lots of drinks options by skilled bartender. Nice music , international atmosphere . If you like the nightclub, this spot should never skip! 🤩🤩
Yulia E — Google review
Cool place on the bund, but the lights of the buildings on the other side of the river were turned off, so the view wasn't as great as previously. They charge a surcharge if you sit outside at any of the tables. Whereas you can order at the bar for no extra cost. I found that weird. Music was really good. Excellent vibe. Popular place!
Christine A — Google review
The signage on the place says KEV not bar rouge, it’s a bit of a tourist trap. We ordered edemame and peanuts and it was as if someone had kept them in the fridge over night they came to the table almost frozen. We ordered a drink each and some pizza and after 45 mins we’re told we need to order more otherwise they would need us to pay and leave. On the plus side the music was great but I would not recommend this place
Z M — Google review
The views and staff are really nice, long islands drinks are really strong but expensive around 158 RMB for a cocktail but strong so worth it kind of.
Jenny T — Google review
Great bar with amazing music and atmosphere. The incredible view makes up for the higher drink prices.
Jasmin M — Google review
Signature of the Bund. There top of Shanghai France Restaurant in 6th fl call Mr&Mrs Bund. Best view + fine dine here. Good music, good drink, classy. Price acceptable, start from 10$/salad and 25$/main. Highly recommend
Nguyen U — Google review
It’s now called “The Kev” as the original place closed (don’t see a listing for it). Incredible skyline view so great place to grab drinks and enjoy it. Went on a Monday night so easier to find a table but still required a minimum.
James M — Google review
Now called KEF, this is a touristic bar/club with excellent views for a couple of drinks. The drinks are good, the crowd is less so. Not many people on the weekdays. Minimum charge to be seated.

Bar
Nestled in a charming heritage villa behind the Bund, the House of Blues & Jazz is a delightful venue that captures the essence of Shanghai's golden Jazz Age. With its intimate wood-paneled interiors and art deco decor, this cozy spot offers an inviting atmosphere for music lovers. Since 1995, it has been a haven for both local and international jazz and blues acts, hosting talented musicians for three-month stints alongside local performers on mellow Mondays and lively jam sessions on Sundays.
Legitimate and proper choice for European cuisine with a wonderful wine list. Portion is not big and the service is wonderful.
Royal R — Google review
A perfect spot for jazz lovers! Located just 200m from the Bund, this bar has incredible charm. The atmosphere is wonderful: a cozy space with dim lighting, stylish decor and, of course, top-notch live music. Service is excellent - polite and professional staff. The kitchen serves delicious food that perfectly complements the evening. But the real highlight is the musicians' performances! Every night features authentic, high-quality jazz that creates a magical vibe. A perfect blend of great music, tasty food and special atmosphere. **5/5**, will definitely come back!
М М — Google review
Very recommended place to enjoy Blues and Jazz in this town. I came here many times. Food just standard … but mostly I came here to enjoy the music. Nice old building in very central spot close to The Bund Shanghai , so its very great option to enjoy the night after enjoy the city 🤩. Beers and cocktails options are great with affordable price. The service also great 👍🏼. Interesting pictures and brief information about the history of this place. I will definitely come and come again!
Yulia E — Google review
Sunday night jam session! It was so good, featuring quality artists and musicians from America, France and Australia. The absolute highlight of our trip to Shanghai. Staff were very good and attentive. The place was still going when we left at 1:00am.
Ian M — Google review
Very very bad service, food is slow and the staff gave my food to other people. Overall just bad, wouldn’t recommend. When I came there was no one, tables around me are already receiving their food and I was waiting for my food just to realise they gave it to other people on my table. I ordered a set, they should have known better. Music was ok only. Bad vibes in my opinion. Wouldn’t return here even if I was given a free meal. Come at your own risk to receive a free plate of their egoistic attitude.
Samzuel O — Google review
What a fantastic place, highly recommended. Great service, excellent food and loved the decor. The live music was an added bonus. Full marks all round.

The Cotton Club, situated in the French Concession area, stands as Shanghai's oldest jazz club. It hosts nightly live performances by seasoned jazz musicians and occasional traveling acts, drawing a mix of locals and expats, particularly on weekends. The venue's dark, smoky interior and potent cocktails create an ideal ambiance for live jazz and blues. With its roots harking back to Shanghai's pre-war blues era, the Cotton Club holds a significant place in the city's music scene.

Night club
Le Baron in Shanghai is part of a global chain known for its exclusivity and cool ambiance. The club's sultry red interiors, two bars, and dancefloor make it a popular spot on weekends. The urban garden roof terrace offers pre-game cocktails when the weather is nice. The club opens at 10:30 pm with varying prices depending on the performing DJ. It's a unique blend of disco, nightclub, and pub with striking red decor.
If you’re ever in Shanghai and looking for a night to remember, Le Baron is absolutely the place to be. I don’t even know where to begin — this place truly gave me one of the best nights of my life. The energy inside is unmatched: the music, the people, the atmosphere — it all just clicks perfectly. It’s that kind of place where you walk in and immediately feel like you’re part of something special. The DJs know exactly how to keep the vibe alive, and the crowd is effortlessly cool yet welcoming. From the moment I stepped in until the moment I left (well past sunrise), it was non-stop fun. Drinks flowing, music blasting, everyone dancing like there’s no tomorrow — it honestly felt like living in a movie. If you’re lucky enough to find yourself in Shanghai, Le Baron isn’t just a suggestion — it’s a must. I already can’t wait to go back.

Arkham is a medium-sized nightclub with an underground vibe, similar to The Shelter but with a more spacious layout. The venue boasts a good sound system and an open dance floor, making it perfect for techno enthusiasts and those looking for a hands-in-the-air experience. Keep an eye on local listings to catch performances by renowned artists.
Good techno place with the right DJ. I went to see Boys Noize the and had a great night. Good sound system and the dance floor is open so plenty of room to dance.
CPavis C — Google review
Music was a ton of repeating disco rhythms and nothing you'd actually dance/sing to. And as a result there were just clumps of people standing around and no one was actually dancing. I will give it credit for it's cool, underground decor, however.

Paulaner is a classic Bavarian restaurant and beer garden with multiple locations in Shanghai, offering stunning views of the city. It's known for serving quality Bavarian food and well-known German beers. The restaurant provides a delightful experience with its authentic flavors, warm hospitality, and scenic surroundings. While it may be on the pricier side, the fast service and delicious dishes like sausage with mashed potatoes or fusilli with fried spinach and grilled tomatoes make it worth a visit.
The sausage is very tasty, served with mashed potatoes. Must try fusilli, with fried spinach and grilled tomatoes, omg it's perfect. and with warm green tea, it looks like should order beer if come here again. The price is quite expensive, but the service is fast and tastes good. Good place to chill, or eat with family. There are outdoor and indoor rooms.

Mostly photogenic. Not worth the money or calories. They ask for payment the minute we took our first bite :/

Tony B — Google review
Amazing views over the Bund, but not so impressed by the staff or drinks. My virgin piña colada was nothing to write home about - nothing special at all. The view was what was special. There's a hot tub on the deck which is pretty impressive, but it was more like a foot bath for guests. Looks nice for photos though! Prices are standard for a bar like this. Overall it's a nice addition to the Hyatt on the Bund hotel.
Adam N — Google review
One of the best rooftop bars I have been to, with good quality drinks and the best views. If your not staying in the hotel there is a fee, which in my opinion is a good thing.
Jason E — Google review
Absolute fantastic bar, bewath taking views absolutely amaxibg, located on 34th floor, Open space and indoor space both there, especially in chilling winter they have amazing table with heater on top with light. If you are in Shanghai try it its worth. You can get entry with cover if you ate not stayong in hotel, around 110 RMB and you get one drink free.
R P — Google review
While the view is certainly nice, probably the best you'll get of the Bund, I can't help but feel that the bar is over hyped and full of people that think themselves interesting. Worth it to go for one drink (which is included in the cover charge).
Stefan — Google review
Super bar and fantastic view! Just when you arrive at the reception of the hotel you can already feel that you are about to discover a nice place. Then the lift with a view outside taking you up to the 32th floor in a second! And the view even from the lift... wahoo!! Then you get to the reception entrance was 110 and include a drink and the choice of drink include Champagne! (And a Good French one!) What else to ask for? Make sur you go to the top and get you pics with the real view ! It’s amazing and I went there on a cloudy day so can’t even imagine how nice it will be in a clear day! Honestly don’t look further : you want the view and the nice drink, you find the place!
Sandrine B — Google review
View is certainly very nice and never mind the over priced drinks, but at least serve them in proper glasses instead of scratchy plastic goblets. The bottleneck to pay the cover charge once you step out of the elevator should also be fixed someway somehow.

Step into the timeless elegance of The Long Bar at the Waldorf Astoria, a glamorous and historic tavern dating back to 1911. Once the longest bar in the Far East during its days as part of the exclusive Shanghai Club, it has been meticulously restored to its original Art Deco splendor. This iconic establishment offers a sophisticated ambiance with live jazz performances, classic cocktails, fresh oysters, and refined bar snacks.
A classy and higher priced hotel bar with a live jazz band and a singer. Cocktails are $20-24, and there is a nice way of how the menu is presented to you in a chest. You are also getting a substantial set of nuts and olives with your drink. On a Saturday night around 9pm it was 30% filled, the band was playing and a singer stopped around 10pm.

Excellent signature cocktail selection, with something for everyone. Welcoming service, live music, justifiable price, and all of that in a historic location. What else do you need? 100% recommended
MomoDev — Google review
A stunning historic bar inside an equally beautiful property. Fantastic service and drinks, and an impressive snacks trolley. I went on a Wednesday and Thursday night, and despite the live music, it was surprisingly quiet both nights. Seems Shanghai doesn't have the evening atmosphere you'd expect from an international city with a nearby business district. Will definitely return though.

Had a few drinks and they were great, the music band did a great job too, highly recommended
Ryan B — Google review
You must get a drink here. Where the Taipans / mafia bosses of old had their drinks and the hoi polloi could not even enter - meaning in a previous life, we would’ve had no chance to get a drink here. Walk around the Waldorf while you wait for the bar to open at 4. Absolutely stunning interior.

At first I was skeptical, because I thought its another Hotel bar. I was proven wrong. This place is a true gem! I had the best experience!!! The service was outstanding. Every person makes you feel so welcome. Eddie was exceptionally welcoming! The tequila based cocktail I had, absolutely delicious! and the music just wow!!!! I stepped out of this place so energized. I will be back!

Best bar, drinks and service in Shanghai. This place is probably in my top 2 bars of all time anywhere on earth. A hand-selected bar snack trolley was an Amazing touch - as were the salted egg yolk fries! Live music on Thursdays to Saturdays completes the ultra cool vibe. Special shout out to Vincent and Eddie for the superb and absolutely world class hospitality. But the whole team are amazing!

It's definitely worth a visit while staying in or traveling through Shanghai. The staff is friendly, the cocktails are fantastic, and the live jazz is outstanding What more could you ask for? (Be sure to check the performance schedule before you go.) The cocktails were terrific. I asked for an Irish Maid, which they didn't have, but they brought me an even better one than I had imagined. *Special thanks to Jupert, Mikey, and Lynn!

Considering the cocktail game in Shanghai is in early stages of development, cocktails are competitive. Wouldnt say the view is amazing or the best (can only see a bit of the Bund, which wasnt exciting for me from that angle), but it has got great ambience and a superb, attentive English speaking staff.

Kartel Wine Bar is a popular spot located in the heart of Shanghai, between the Former French Concession and Jingan Temple. This three-story establishment features a diverse restaurant, a private lounge area, and a spacious rooftop terrace offering stunning 360-degree views of the city. The bar boasts an impressive selection of wines, wine-inspired cocktails, sangria, sparkling options, classic cocktails, and beer on tap. Additionally, guests can indulge in perfectly paired dishes while taking in the breathtaking scenery.
The reviews and photos (especially the photos) say it all - this is a great place to come day or night, depending on your favourite type of view. Very friendly staff, great view, and great patrons. we met some interesting and fun people when we dropped in for a drink and to enjoy a nice evening.

Nice roof top and perfect for a drink. The food is ok even if a bit expensive for Shanghai. No Chinese food, only international like burgers, mezzo platter, cured meat, etc. Totally an international place where you can enjoy a nice glass of wine or good cocktail.
Sandrine B — Google review
Great rooftop bar in the heart of Shanghai. It gets crowded, so make a reservation beforehand. Drinks are ok and priced like any other "fashionable expat bar" in Shanghai Would be a better vibe with some music; I'm not sure why they don't play any
Shiva — Google review
When I went there, they asked for pics of my special places. DO not go they then feed me food from the literal rubbish bin the waiters were so rude calling me racial slurs on several different occasions.
Byron A — Google review
This is one of the oldest rooftop bars around Shanghai, and it's heavily patronized by many expatriates and foreigners. It has a bird's eye view of the surrounding high rise hotels and buildings, and is located in one of Shanghai's more premium estates. The food is average bar food, and the drinks are nothing too fanciful. Do get their mozarella cheese balls, and their burger sliders. The fish was not up to mark when we tried it.
Flo Y — Google review
Hit & Miss, one of shanghais prominant rooftops. We once reserved a table and still got it even though the Rooftop was fully packed, The Rooftop section is mostly filled with Drinkers while level 5 the Diners. Happy Hour from 6-8pm where selected drinks are all 30rmb. Cocktails average at 70rmb while beers at 40rmb. Food wise the menu is limited and average around 130 for mains and 60 for deserts & starters. Service is a bit of a shocker considering there' s a lot of tables with no one waiting on them, seemed as if they only had bartenders and no floor staff. And theres only two toilet stalls besides the male urinal, so the toilet queue was always long.

If you're looking for something a bit different than your usual Shanghai craft beer spot, then Boxing Cat Brewery is perfect. Serving up American-style comfort food with plenty of unusual beers on tap, this place is well worth checking out. The happy hour specials are especially good, with discounts on drinks all week long.
It's great that whatsapp and Google maps still work with data roaming. Easy to walk around. Seems like many good choices for IPA... 😄 Friendly staff ..

Lovely place. Service is a bit slow and not especially friendly. Even though this is a western restaurant, the staff doesn’t really speak English. Ingredients are fresh, drinks are good, and the outside sitting area is right in front of the park. Inside, decoration is minimal, though. Prices are on the higher side for a simple snack but still reasonable for a western restaurant in this area. Overall recommended, but not as good as The Refinery, less than 1km away.

We received poor service and were poorly treated. The staff were impatient and rude! The beer was served warm. The environment was unpleasant because we were seated in a corner near a bathroom that smelled bad, and we were never attended to! Due to the poor service, the kitchen closed before we could order food! The beer is not worth going for.

Love this place! Great food great beer. Great people. What more can you ask for? Delicious wings, closest i have had to wings in USA. The Buffalo sauce was very very close to the real deal. Delicious nachos! Love the chips. Beer is delicious. They have a flight so you can try tons of their options.
Carbon / — Google review
A nice location close to many shops, restaurants, and plazas. Some beers are excellent, some are ordinary, and the spicy Korean chicken I had was underwhelming due to its saltiness, but the space was vast and well-decorated.

I love this place! Found it as I was walking around the area and I’m glad I did. Great attentive service and delicious food. I had a bacon burger w/ fries, washed it all down with at least 3 different IPA’s which were all good. When I’m in Shanghai, I’m coming back! Tip: If you’re dining in, I suggest going upstairs to the second floor as it has a more relaxed, warm atmosphere. First floor is more of a bar.

A drink purchase is required to enjoy the wing deal. The pub also offers pool tables, dart areas, and a small outside patio for pleasant days.
Great sports bar. Lots of TVs and staff are very happy to play what your request. Perfect spot to watch the AFL, they even played it with sound for us. Lots of food options when craving western food. Nice clean western toilets too.

The bar is open from 5pm to 1am on weekdays and from 11:30am to 1am on weekends.
Wow,great experience. 5 stars from me. The view is the key attraction. Food was great, better than I expected. (Note: It's Western food). And the cocktails are expertly crafted. It does get crowded. We went on Thursday evening and there was space outside. I suspect it will be full on the weekends.

Great views on the terrace. The lights on the bunds have a fixed time to be turned off.. keep that in mind! Really nice bar inside and out with good atmosphere. Cocktails were tasty although small and expensive. 3 star due to waiting 45 minutes for a drink. Drinks arrived to different people on our table at different times over 30 minutes. I would never return to any bar regardless of price, menu or atmosphere with those wait times and quality of service.

Amazing view of the skyline and casual vibes. Too hot sit outside in July -Aug even after sunset but there is a big fan helping a bit. The western food and drinks. The burger IS big and good, but i wish it had true pickle cucumbers and less sweet compote, it comes with a big portion of great fries which i could not finish, it is two people job. I got in on Sunday 6.30pm and got the last table outside. There is also very decent seating inside and great AC.

It's known for cheap drinks, making it a busy spot especially on weekends where you can meet English speakers and students. Buying drinks in bulk is cost-effective, and the food is good.
Very good place to drink a cheap beer. They have a two beer for one offer, also every day different food offers. There is pool and beer pong table, also other stuff like dart and table football. Sometimes it can be very crowded.

Cheap drinks, lots of people to meet, busy place so try to go early on weekends. Lots of English speakers and students frequent this place. Buying drinks in bulk here (pitcher of beer, round of shots) seems to be very cost effective. Food is good here, but this is still in Shanghai, so if you want cheap you can grab noodles from any random street cart nearby.

A good place to relax and drink beers, but if you are into craft beers, this is not the place. Based on the staff this place use to brew onsite, but not anymore. Pity that rather having small brewery's beers, the beers they serve is pretty mass produce. With few exceptions. The food is good and the design of the bar interesting. Terrasse is a good place to enjoy as being adjacent to a small street with view on a parc.

The address of this place is wrong. It should be 20 Donghu Road, it is near Huai Hai Road. The current address listed is the old address before they moved around 2 years ago. The new Shanghai Brewery is a step up from the previous one, especially the food offerings.

Dr Beer is one of the top breweries in the city, known for its fantastic quality craft beers brewed on-site. Located on Fumin Road, this spacious brewery offers a selection of brews and has garnered attention since its opening last year. Visitors can enjoy a variety of beer styles by opting for the beer sampler, which provides an opportunity to taste different flavors ranging from wheat to dark. The establishment also offers snack foods, with the onion rings being highly recommended.
Beer is good. But onion ring is too oily. Price is reasonable

This is a decent beer bar for a casual drop in, now called World of Beer. It's enormous inside, with a lot of seating and an interesting selection of beer on tap and in bottle. It's easy to get to by the 71 bus (about a block away from the stop) and it's in a busy neighboorhood,, lots of scooter parking and Fumin Road is still (August 2021) scooter friendly.
S G — Google review
We went on a Friday night and found a packed, fun club atmosphere. Service and beer were lackluster, though, and they only had five beers on tap and not much in the bottle. Certainly not the best beer selection in Shanghai, as some reviewers have said.
Jon D — Google review
So it is rather pricey but it is all fantastic quality. I recommend getting the beer sampler just for an experience of tasting different styles. Remember drink wheat to dark. Went with some Chinese friends who thought that the tasting sampler was all about getting drunk. Loved the IPA the most... nice and hop-a-licious. We tried most of the snack foods and the onion rings were the best. Nachos were a bit stale but I wasn't expecting much. A friend got the chicken salad and it was a good size with quite a lot of chicken. The service was quick and friendly though they often just brought us the beers we ordered and didn't mention what it was which led to a bit

Upon arrival for high tea we were directed to the back room (not shown there). Because the outside area was full, we were given an inside table to sit at until a table became available. We finally had to get menus ourselves to look at. They eventually put us at a table outside, but when it started to sprinkle, we wanted to return inside so as not to get wet. The waiter WATCHED as we toted in our bags and all of the plates, cups, etc, without helping or even holding the door open for us! To top it all, we were in the middle of eating and they presented us with the bill. Personally, I don't like handling money and food at the same time and would have been happy to pay either before or after, but no, we had to pay right then. I have been to New Heights before and always enjoyed meals there, but this time was an absolute disaster.

But given the awards, I was actually expecting a little more. The cocktails were good, but not especially exceptional. The pork burger was tasty, but not out of this world. I wasn’t impressed. The bar itself is nice but the drinks were just okay and served on minute glasses. They’re serving 98rmb/15 usd dollar drinks in tea sized cups. There are much better bars in Shanghai!

Don't want to give it a star but I have too, first night the staff where rude, so just had one beer and left The second night I tired again as the bar was not packed, but staff where rude again so again just had one beer and left again Found a little bar called champions just around the corner and I stayed there all night and spent 1600 RMB The spot bar missed out on a good customer as I'm here for 6 months Please train your staff to be nice and smile

Great jazz bar in the beautiful French Concession. Definitely more American prices for both the entrance free and the drinks. Good music though in a cozy atmosphere.

Great place for live band and cocktail. The venue is quite small though. Not far from the metro stop Jiaotong university line 10 and 11

The venue offers crafted cocktails, including rum-based drinks and fruity mixes, alongside classic options. It's not just a bar; it's also a place to enjoy roller-skating. The circular bar at the center of the rink adds to the lively ambiance. Visitors can expect friendly service from staff who are accommodating and helpful with skating techniques.
Visited here for the first time yesterday with a group of friends. Really fun and chill vibe. Rae (hopefully I’m spelling it right) looked after our group and was very personable and friendly. She remembered our names and also recommended places to visit in Shanghai as we had come from Nanjing. I’d so recommend anyone go here, try out the skating, and an almond sour too!

With its lively atmosphere adorned in graffiti art, this bar stands out as a colorful gathering place where friends can enjoy deliciously affordable meals and refreshing beverages. Whether you're looking to unwind after classes or celebrate with pals, Perry's provides an inviting backdrop filled with energy and creativity.
It’s a student bar with really cheap drinks but otherwise nothing special about it. The mall it is located in is kind of abandoned. The service was very quick and friendly.
