I ordered Mediterranes Gemüsepfännchen. The portion was good. It was delicious, but the waiter was a little neglecting. Still, it's a good treat.

My first stop in Germany left a really bad impression. First, they told me to find a seat on my own, but after I sat down, they told me that the area wasn’t open. I waited for a long time and didn’t get a menu, so I went to the waiter to ask for one. He told me to go back and wait at my seat. When the food was served, the waiter said a long sentence in German. I didn’t understand, and he rolled his eyes at me before walking away. In the end, he even had the nerve to ask for a tip. Your management is stingy — there were only three servers covering a huge area. I understand that they were busy, but that has nothing to do with me as a customer. It’s fine if they’re stressed, but they shouldn’t take it out on the guests. On the bright side, the pumpkin soup was delicious, the beer was great, but the pork knuckle was a bit too salty.

One of my favourite German restaurants so far! The roasted pork knuckle was very good (crispy on the outside and very soft inside). It’s not the traditional fried version. We loved the fish dish as well. Overall, the prices were reasonable with high quality!

Great German restaurant in the centre of Dortmund. Really cute atmosphere outside. I ordered the paprika schnitzel. It was really good and very good. I got it with the roasted potatoes which were great too. The Hugo spritz was really good too.

It is pretty nice place, typical German style. I tried goulash, the portion was bigger than my expectation. And it was extremely delicious. The local beer was pretty refreshing. Highly recommend!

Visited tonight and was blown away by both the service and the flavors! The staff were friendly, attentive, and ensured our experience was top-notch. As for the burgers, they were juicy, perfectly seasoned, and every bite was a delightful explosion of taste. The unique blend of ingredients made it one of the best burgers I've ever had. Great Burger and Fries. Had the Mushroom and Cheese. Great little nuance with the caramelized walnuts for texture. The fries were fresh and perfectly cooked. Try the Habanero Jolokia Sauce, what a spicy kick!

Honestly one of the best burgers I've ever had and definitely the best food I ate while in Dortmund. The buns were beautifully soft and the sauce was heavenly. I got the BBQ burger and practically inhaled it, it was so good. Would absolutely come back if I visit Dortmund again. The atmosphere inside was super chill and the guys who served me were so friendly and welcoming.

Simply put: the best burger in town. And it makes sense: almost everything is homemade starting by grinding best Neuland meat every day to make his own patties over fries and sauces! When I asked him why: “Because any other way you have at least salt in the patty or too much sugar for the ketchup.” Come here if you like an authentic Dortmund experience paired with friendly staff, good beer selection, and delicious burger!

Amazing Vietnamese restaurant near the Dortmund Center. The service was very courteous and they even have an English menu which was very helpful. Bun cha with Chicken spring roll was delicious. Unfortunately they don’t have a veg option for Pho.

Fresh Vietnamese summer rolls, glass noodles, and duck curry in a cute little restaurant. Everything tasted great, for an affordable price. Staff was also very friendly and welcoming.

We arrived and decided to sit outside since it was very busy inside. We had to wait a long time before someone got us the menus, we wanted to order but no one came to take our order so I had to ask. I do understand and I also saw that the waiters were very busy and overwhelmed, but it was not a really pleasant experience. The food was okay, the shakshuka tasted good!

The Pfefferkorn is a delicious German style restaurant. Traditional dishes are served here. Service is friendly, and guests can choose where they would like to sit. Those guests are mainly locals, as most ignorant tourists seem to prefer the more inviting but far inferior restaurant at the other market square corner. The Pfefferkorn is settled in a horrible concrete building, but inside, visitors found themselves in an old-fashioned German eatery. Highly recommended!

Excellent food, service a little slow , nice location on a warm summer evening.

Service was bad. I ordered a ribeye steak which came with a potato on the side. I asked for nothing on the steak and it came with about a pound of salt and the potato which I also asked to be plain came with this butter substance. I hate to complain but I asked them to take the steak back. They WASHED the salt off and gave me the same steak. While the other food was good this place was not very good overall.

I was staying in the city of Hagen and was searching for a Korean restaurant with my friends. The nearest one with good reviews was in Dortmund, a 30 min drive by car so not too far. We were lucky since we did not make any reservation. Another reservation did not show up so we were able to dine here. They are real Koreans so it is nice to practice your skills there, they are very polite and helpful! We ordered Mandu, Bulgogi-kimbap, Bulgogi with rice and K-Fried chicken Spicy. The Mandu was served with 4 pieces of which two were with meat and vegetables and two with Kimchee and meat. They both tasted very good and were well presented. The Bulgogi-Kimbap was served as the complete roll which was sliced and the endings were presented as well. Inside was spinach, pickled rettig, bulgogi meat, carrots, eggs and rice and seaweed around sprinkled with sesame seeds. It tasted very good. The Bulgogi with rice was well prepared beef in very thin slices.The marinara sauce was well embedded in the meat, so it was very tasty, not too sweet, a little bit salty which was nice. Th K-Fried chicken was well prepared and very crispy. The spicy (gojujang) sauce however was very salty which was a dominating taste for this serving. This was a disappointment. Not to my taste. Oh there was no banchan served which was a disappointment as well. Overall I was very content with this restaurant and next time I am in Dortmund for eating Korean, I would definitely come again.

One of my favorite restaurants in Germany. It’s delicious every time. It’s authentic, the staff is very friendly and it’s just always a nice experience. The fried chicken with cheese powder is one of our favs as well as the seafood and beef bulgogi , yummm.

Super tasty! I had meal here a few years ago, and this time when I came back to Dortmund I had to come here again for the food. The beef soup with glassnoodle was so good, and the chicken too. They're a little bit sweet as it's Korean, however we don't feel heavy at all. The portion in the pictures was enough for 2 people.

I loved it! Went last night for the first time. The food was delicious (we had Jukjeon and Mandu variations as starters, then shared the beef bulgogi, duck and fried chicken). Super tasteful, perfect portion size, super friendly staff. Will go there many more times! The only thing- it was quite cold as we sat near the door.

Korean fried chicken is recommended (soy sauce and garlic). Mandu and even the soy sauce is all in house made. Very tasty.

Nice corean food! We went without reservation and it worked just fine. They have places inside and outside, but outside seems way better. They have a pretty big menu - we tried the fried chicken and the bibimbap. The food was excellent! They said it would take 30 min (which was nice to know in advance)... but it actually came before, so it was a nice surprise. Would like to come back, I would really recommend to try it

If you ever wanted full fast and furious vibe with your burger this is the place. Food is nice enough but its really the atmosphere of eating in a car tuning workshop that's the fun part. Very popular in the evening so you might wait a bit in line to order but service is fast.

Best Burgers in a Need-For-Speed themed restaurant for the petrol-heads. Expect long waiting lines around lunchtime. It's the little details that stand out; i.e. the paper bag/wrapper that holds the burger is holding up all the way, ensuring you do not end up in a mess in your hands & lap. Seating space can become a tad intimate with others, as you're sitting at benches tables akin to a mess hall. Great tasting food, can even give better quality burger places like FIVE GUYS a run for their money. I had the burger "Endgegner" (final boss fight) twice in two successive days; that's almost a pound of beef (400 grams in total). For the petrol-heads are several life-sized racing/tuned cars and other shenanigans that JP & crew did (gocart with jet engines anyone?). Parking is an issue. There are vegetarian burger options available. Accessibility is limited but doable. Parents need to entertain their kids to keep them at bay.

Cute little place for breakfast or sweet treat. It was packed so reservation is recommended. The coffee (espresso) is average but the food was very good -I really liked the atmosphere, we were around brunch time and the wait time was a little bit longer but that’s okay since the waitress was working alone. Not only was the breakfast delicious, there were also gluten free bread rolls and breakfast options for our gluten intolerant family member. Delicious cakes, superfriendly and kind service in a magnificent environment. Friend of mine has a lot of dietary restrictions. Like especially lot. When they learned about all of the restrictions, they "made" a cake in 15-min just for her (redcurrant on the side).

Love love loved this place! Great place for vegans! We were here saturday morning. Its busy so go early if you don't have a reservation. We had the saturday breakfast options were they bring you everything. I had the vegan option, my boyfriend the regular. We left stuffed and satisfied! Great food and super friendly staff. Lovely cafe in Nordmarkt Park. On a cold winter day the park and it's visitors wouldn't suggest to linger there but Grüner Salon is a little friendly gem. There is plenty of free street parking around. Outdoor seating is available despite the cold but inside is much cosier. Little tables spread around a bar. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The menu provides something for everyone:all day breakfast, lunch, sandwiches and snacks - pommes (fries)&prosecco is one of the unique offerings. The drinks selection is equally vast including smoothies, coffee varieties, beers(tap) wine and cocktails. I opted for a cake which are on display and a flat white (shouldn't do that outside Australia, but it's a habit 😅). My friend had a smashed avocado sandwich which came with lots of fresh salad. Looking at other people's orders, the serving sizes are very generous and everything is prepared fresh. I would definitely come back, would be great to sit outside in summer with a refreshing cocktail 🙂

Read the reviews, saw the photos and was excited to come. The establishement lies in a park. The neighbourhood is not the best one. You have to skip the park, it is filled with hobo's and junkies. But leaving them behind you will find a little place of tranquility. Very fresh and nice dishes. There is a difference in menu when you come in the weekend or not. Kids chair available.

Great little funky place in the middle of the park. The decor of this cafe is absolutely on point and goes stunningly well with the location. Perfect spot for a rainy autumn afternoon with a nice selection of drinks and cakes and cosy seats surrounded by numerous plants . Makes up for a great place to bring your pals or to read a book on a specific day out.

This is an amazing Italian pizza place with a variety of options to pick from. The deserts are amazing as well and you should definitely request for one.

I had one of their specials and I fell in love at the first bite. The pizza dough was perfect: crusty, chewy and cooked in a stone oven so you can see the marks of big air pockets in the crust! The topping was a mix was nduja, mozzarella and tomato..it was the best pizza I’ve had till date in Germany.

I consider the opinions very important for both the owner and the customers. The food is good and so is the attitude of the staff, however they could be more organized. We arrived 20 minutes early to the restaurant to see if it was possible to use our reservation, as there were several empty tables. They told us not to come back at 7 o'clock, when we came back first they were going to take us to a table and then they gave us another one of those that were empty since the first time we arrived... in general everything was fine, but the service was too slow, difficult to order even water since we didn't see the waiter very regularly, the food took more than 1 hour. I know these dates are complicated but it wouldn't be bad to hire more staff to meet normal expectations.

We were waiting for our order for 1 and a half hour. All the people who arrived after us already got their food, while the waiter kept saying that ours is arriving soon. The place appears very popular with locals and visitors attending the various large exhibitions and trade shows in town, such as the annual InterTabac. Though I have been dragged there several times by business colleagues, I've found the food alright, but never particularly noteworthy. The restaurant can be very busy and terribly noisy at peak times and service can be painfully slow. The other evening I waited 30 minutes for my beer, while the main dish took well over an hour to arrive. Would I go again? Yes, perhaps. But only if a business contact insisted.

Terrible service. They charged me twice after insisting my card did not go through the first time and the waiter was very rude and aggressive about it. I now have proof and am pursuing them. Rude, slow service throughout the evening and mediocre food.

I dont know about the food. We didnt try it because we left immediately. The reason? We've been treated like we are at the butcher's. We got inside and we asked for a table for 2. They put us in the back of the restaurant. On a table that was not set. We sat on the table and the menu cards were thrown on the table from distance, as the waiter was bored to service properly. The waiter said something in italian to his colleague who then turned and looked at us. Really rude to talk in front of the customers about them in a language they dont understand. I felt embarrassed, especially for my guest who, thank god, took it nicely. Now me being also a very relaxed person, I said "let's go somewhere else". So we left. When we stood up they also said something in italian, the waiter looked annoyed and he waved his hand saying something with a rude tone. NOT to reccomend. (Me being in the gastronomy before, I can't accept such scenes. Because I was trained for high quality service. The food might be good, but the service can ruin it. The service gives character to a restaurant.)

As an American living here this place hit the spot. Great burger selections, great sides and sauces, and a wonderful peach tea. Served was fantastic and the playlist was great. Happy to have found this place and enjoyed it a lot. I will be back.

What can I say? We were with a friend and fiancée here. The burgers were amazing but that's not the important bit. When the owner and his wife knew that it was our first time in Dortmund, they instantly started helping us on what to do and where to go. Everything with such friendliness and empathy. It really made our day. They even spoke Spanish (my mother tongue) to us. It was certainly a highlight on our mini Euro trip with our friend. Thank you guys and keep up the good work!

My review here is only about the service and the attitude and not about the food. On the way back home today (Wednesday) from the city center with a friend of mine, I remember I have a Groupon voucher for Grill 69 and thought it will be a great chance to use it. I want to make clear that I aware of and respect the limitations of those vouchers (telling when it’s possible to use it, till when, if reservation is needed and so on…). I wasn’t sure about those limitations in this voucher but thought way not to give it a try and jump over since I’m already 5 min walk from the place. The time was 16:30 and the place was TOTALLY empty, empty empty empty, inside and outside, not even a dog was there. We entered inside and I mentioned before the man who was standing there that I have a voucher from Groupon with me and that I’m not sure if I should have call to do a reservation or not. He said that yes, that we should make a reservation since like MANY vouchers were already bought in Groupon. We looked at him, we looked around us and at the empty chairs and back at him and just asked: “Sooo is it possible to make this reservation for now?” (with like a half smile)…. He just opened his diary and said “no, now it’s not possible but maybe I have a table for tomorrow or after tomorrow…”. With shock faces and no words we just replied that we will call them for that and left the place not only shocked but also very disappointed. I would have clearly understand if there were costumers sitting there….. but, really!? Your restaurant is totally empty, no one was sitting there, where are all those Groupon costumer or random costumer?? It’s not about being nice or not or “breaking the rules”, it’s about a simple service orientation, which clearly this place doesn’t have. I don’t understand this arrogance attitude and I certainly will give my voucher away to who ever want it.

This is an excellent bakery and cafe (next door) with a classic German vibe. Not hipster, nor fancy, just serving super fresh baked things (i had a great quiche for breakfast, a first) and very good coffee. Also notable; very nice plates and cutlery. Top marks (boom boom)

I ordered a cheese burger. The bun was very fresh and soft. The combination of the ingredients was nice. The pattie (beef) was completely cooked which I like but some might like it a bit rare. So tell them to have it not completely well done. The fries were also good. They also accept the EC cards which is rare here. The only thing was that the amount or volume of the meat was not so big which is absolutely OK in regards to the price. The prices are very reasonable.

Best Doner in Dortmund. It is homemade meat, not from factory. Even their bread is homemade there. That’s why I love this place. Prices are also really good. Meat Doner is my favorite. However minced meat Doner is also better than others.

One of the oldest and cultural Turkish Restaurant in Dortmund. Dishes are delicious and offers a cheap price than any other Cousine. Dishes are very much healthy and fresh. Service is excellent and offers food 24/7. Love the Restaurant and their food. My comfort zone for day to day life.

Really tasty takeaway food. It's a lovely idea: a pot of mashed potato (small, medium or large) plus a topping. There were 8 different vegetarian/vegan options when we went. The small box was very filling for my child; medium is probably better for an adult. Everything was incredibly tasty & it's possible to pay with Visa card👍🏻 The packaging was cardboard & wood.

Personally, it was the first time for me to eat a Kartoffel Pott and I would recommend it.

Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr nett und zuvorkommend auch wenn sie manchmal auch außerhalb des Wagens sind und man erst einmal auf sich aufmerksam machen muss. Man sitzt zwischen Reinoldi- und Marienkirche sehr schön. Ambiente selber gibt es kaum aber das ist aufgrund der Position nicht so schlimm.

I am not sure this place is safe for solo female travellers. After a long nice walk around the city I came back and decided to charge my phone in the lobby, where I was approached by a man who was offering me drinks and after my refusal to he asked how much it costs to see me naked. Quite an experience for a 20yr old travelling the first time 🙂 They don’t check who is entering the building, I am not even sure he was staying there.

I didn’t even checked out of the room and I was about to stay for 2 more nights on the same bed, but the cleaning person came in on the day I was outside and threw away my belongings - an expensive shaving 🪒 razor, a toothpaste and a tooth brush when I placed them in near my bed. Never ever again at an A&O hostel anywhere in Germany 🇩🇪 or other country! Reckless behavior of the management and the cleaning staff! I recommend not to come here! Sleeping outside on the pavement is better than staying here any day!

I stayed one night at this hostel, the staff were very friendly, helpful, and the atmosphere was nice. However, I got BEDBUGS. Now I have to throw away my backpack and will likely need to get rid of all of my clothes that came along with me. People are loud, drinking and smoking in the rooms, nobody from staff does anything.

We read the reviews before entering and were quite afraid of the waiting times, however even though we came on Sunday afternoon there weren't that many people and everything went smoothly. The pizzas were there after 15 minutes, finally proper Neapolitan. The only thing that I could find fault with was in diavola the salami on the side got a bit burned, probably moved during inserting to the oven, however I am willing to ignore it as a one time coincidence looking at the pizza overall. Definitely recommend and making on my list.
