Stopped by here for a coffee and really liked this place. I like the exposed masonry walls and it has a really cool vibe inside. It would have been a great place to hang out if I had more time. Had a flat white and it was made well texture and flavour wise. Would recommend if you’re in the area to go check it out.

I walked by this place on my way to Bluesfest and knew I wanted to go in the next morning. It has a great European vibe with bistro seats out front that are great for people watching. The coffee was fantastic. I got an Oat milk latte and I’ll tell you….it was so good that I’m going back tomorrow. The staff was so friendly and took their time to make the latte perfect but also efficient.

A very cool cafe at the top of Elgin St. This cafe has a unique industrial/modern look with lots of seating inside and outside. The coffee is always great, the staff are very friendly and their service is top notch. The cookies are worth trying. It seems to always be busy here so get here and enjoy their patio before it gets too cold.

Quaint coffee shop both industrial yet modern looking! Both indoor tables and out door patio wooden tables available for relaxing and enjoying their delicious products. We are visiting from Columbia MO had Mocha's and one superb ginger cookie. No restrooms at this location therefore minus one star due that fact! Very clean inside and they remember your name to bring your paid items to your table! Definitely recommend they are bilingual.

They have two locations, and while both are great, this one wins for the view. On a sunny day, the café overlooks Elgin, and the sunlight pours through the large windows, filling the space with a warm glow. The high ceilings and thoughtfully designed interior add to the charm, and the drinks are consistently solid. I tried the iced Americano and matcha latte, both were great but I really recommend the espresso tonic. It gets pretty busy when the weather’s nice, but it’s absolutely worth it.

Service and coffee is great! Try the dirty matcha! Btw, you need a key card for the toilet, just ask for it at the counter. 5/5

Americano was awesome, great vibes and overall a lovely place to have a drink and a cookie! Went for the first time as I was in Ottawa for the day, will be returning next time I am in town. Would recommend!

We stopped by here after breakfast and it was exactly what we needed. We got a vanilla latte and lavender matcha latte, and both met the mark. We also got the banana brownie which had the perfect brownie texture and sweetness level (not too sweet). The staff is also friendly and accommodating.

Popped in for a quick stop and had a dirty chai and an everything bagel. Both were great! The chai had just the right kick of espresso, and the bagel was fresh and satisfying. Cozy spot, friendly staff, and good vibes all around. Will definitely be back! Bagel not pictured as I already devoured it lol

Their coffee is usually amazing! Happy Goat is my go-to! But today I was a bit disappointed with my cappuccino. It wasn’t a full cup and tasted more like an espresso. Still good though 😅 The lady barista didn’t seem too friendly this afternoon! 😉

Friendly service. Ample space to sit inside with lots of outdoor seating too. The awnings help keep the sun out. It's a great place to chat and I saw a few people playing Scrabble and others studying. The bathrooms were clean. Service was slow. We waited a long time for 1 doughnut and two drinks. I had a Boston cream doughnut, which was tasty if not a bit too dense. I didn't enjoy my iced Americano because I found it to be too watery. The iced tea was fine.

I was doing some course work and having a coffee on Thursday, October 16th. I was here at this specific location for the first time, and I was met with a pleasant and calming environment; highly recommended if you're stressed and need a happy place ! PS: while I was there, another customer gave one of the employees a hard time, and I just felt that was completely snobby and out of place for the ambience of peace and quiet this shop creates. I didn't get the employees name but he handled it so well, I can tell it kind of knocked his mood off, as it would for me ( I also work in customer service). came in this morning to get a coffee, and there was a super long line (its great coffee and it was 11am so i totally get it). however, within no more than 10 minutes the line was almost completely gone! they crushed it, and the coffee was great! super friendly service, and the barista is amazing at their job.

A great little coffee spot. Always delicious, cozy and chill vibes. Can get pretty busy and I wish they had more seating, but I will always recommend this place!

The aesthetics here are nice. Also cool that they roast their own beans. Plenty of space to work or meet. Wifi is available as is indoor or outdoor seating. Unfortunately, the drinks may be organic, but they aren't as natural as claimed. I prefer coffee shops that make their own chais and stuff, but here they just use store bought syrups and concentrates. The decaf i had was good and they offer Lactaid milk (50 cents more) which is rare, but still disappointed for this being such a big, popular chain that the coffee didn't blow me away.

It was so good. They have seats inside and the atmosphere is amazing. They offer diary - free alternatives.

Great coffee, cozy place, amazing scones. It gets a bit loud inside with the roasting machines working. But there is a nice patio outside. Service is always very good here.

Absolutely love this location. The factory space is original, with lofty high ceilings. The barista hot drinks are delicious. The bakery has fresh flaky croissants, moist chocolate cake and soft chocolate chip & peanut butter cookies. Recommendation to heat up the Egg & cheese roll sandwiches in an oven.

The atmosphere at Bridgehead is phenomenal. An open roaster for all to see, coffee and bread labs visible to all, and a great selection of coffee, drinks and food. It felt like a community hub without taking away from the local area. Lots of diversity and busyness. I’m already planning to go back. 10/10

Main Bridgehead location has a unique industrial factory/bakery feel to it. Large coffee bean roasters and pastry ovens dominate the space. High ceilings and open space give it a very airy and spacious feel even though there is not more seating than in an average coffee shop. Great coffee, pastries and friendly staff. Hopefully this place will keep it's unique ambience now that it has been purchased by a larger corporation. Recommended!

I discovered this coffee shop while looking for a good place to work. I must say, nothing impressed me—not even the chairs or seating. In fact, for the first time ever, I couldn’t finish my Americano because the taste was off-putting. On a positive note, the staff are friendly and respectful.

Tried their orange blossom vanilla latte (hope I got that right) and it’s good. Wouldn’t go back for it because it’s not really my thing but I’ve been recommending it to people as it reminds me quite a lot of Starbucks. Particularly the white mocha syrup, it’s a good local alternative and a little cheaper. The seating options in NAC make this such a good spot to study at and it’s not far from Rideau so very convenient. Would go and get a simple latte and sip through it but it’s nothing special otherwise.

Coffee for Espresso lovers! (& Latte etc). Aussies come here!! What a find! 9.5/10 for me. (So I had a 2nd latte). I 100% forgive the latte being served in a cup :). Caramel tones and good crema. We had the breakie sandwich too, which was super tasty. Brioche-type bun, great cheese, egg bacon filling. I’m coming back.

Their drink menu is always super fun and delicious. I am a huge fan of the banana bread and pumpkin spice lattes from their fall menu, and want to try the Black Forest one next. And their cold brew is always super good! Now their matcha…I say this with so much love but although the flavours are yummy (like the strawberry or banana bread) the quality of the matcha varies greatly depending on who makes it. The other day I got a banana bread matcha and after I left I realized that there were huge clumps of dry matcha that were so disgusting and bitter and I could hardly drink it. (I would have gone back and asked for a new one but I had a meeting). So if you’re getting the matcha here, keep in mind that it might not be mixed properly. I have gotten amazing matchas from here before, but maybe avoid getting it when it’s super busy. The picture is of the bad banana bread matcha in question.

Nice cafe with an amazing view of downtown. They offer Wi-Fi and good seating ergonomics and the staff is very friendly. The coffee offerings are very basic but good quality and the have wonderful gluten-free pastries.

My favourite cup of coffee in Ottawa. Every time I’ve tried a seasonal latte here, the flavour and balance is exceptional. The milk could be steamed a smidge hotter but I could also ask for extra hot, so no points knocked there. The breakfast sandwich offerings are surprisingly delicious. I make a point of stopping by every time I’m in town!

I love stopping by Equator coffee not only for the great working environment, but for a great cup of coffee. However, I had an unpleasant interaction with the cashier on my last visit. When I placed my order (nothing crazy, an iced latte), the cashier proceeded to stare at me blankly for an uncomfortable moment as if they didn’t hear me or understand me. And yet they didn’t ask me to repeat myself. The cashier’s co-worker, who heard me clearly and was standing further away, had to repeat my order to them. Just a weird interaction all together…

Okay, I’m honestly just shocked. I’ve been here before and ordered coffee, and their small size was never this small. I’m not sure if it’s just the matcha that comes in this tiny cup, but the portion is seriously surprising. Maybe it’s on me for not asking about the sizes beforehand, but for $5.80, I definitely expected a standard small, like the one you get at most coffee shops. The taste is okay but matcha feels kinda diluted, but this serving size is really disappointing. (59 mL sanitizer bottle for reference)

Honestly, horrid. The blueberry cheesecake was like a rock. We couldn't figure out if it wasn't fully defrosted or just 10 days old. The lemon square was 90% crust and 10% lemon, obviously done so to save costs. There were a ton of flies and bees (not even near the display, but by the seats, which is weird). Oh, and they don't advertise the prices of their baked goods, which I find dishonest.

Great location, but everything else is just alright. I’ve been coming here for years because of the location and that’s probably what makes it popular. Coffee was fine. Avocado toast was overpriced for what it was.

I normally enjoy getting coffee and a snack here, but the service today changed my mind. The food is nice and the coffee good. It is close to where I live, so it is convenient. The service of a particular employee made my last visit stressful to a point that I will not return. There should be better customer service training and consistency.

For the price, the size and quality of the drink did not match. I got a pumpkin spice latte and it was really not good. Also got a muffin which was pretty hard. The staff were kind to me but I did see an interaction with another customer that wasn’t as welcoming. The patio is also under construction right now and the inside atmosphere is okay. I think this place is probably better to go to in the summer.

Lovely coffee shop with plenty of indoor seating. Loved the vibe and cozy atmosphere. We tried the tomato soup and avocado sandwich, which were awesome, though the sandwich seemed quite small for me. The Earl Grey tea and hot chocolate were also good. Highly recommend and would be happy to visit again.

For your own good don’t get any of the pastries, they are all stale and dry like they’ve been out for days. The coffee and matcha were okay like a 6/10

The drinks were really good and there was a big summer specialty menu which was really nice for different options! The coconut blackberry matcha and the orange espresso tonic (kinda like a coffee mimosa) is a must try before they go out of season. It’s a huge building with lots of seating from indoor to outdoor patio with a nice roof tent for shading! I also really love the little what’s brewing today bag it’s a really nice addition. We’ll definitely be back to dine in as this had to be take out.

Great coffees ( stellar mocha) and delectable treats (croissants and nainamo bar). Very pleasant spot to stay, relax and enjoy the coffees. Or, in a location that everything is enjoyable to go and enjoy the scenery.

Picked up a coffee and sweet treat, ended up staying for a sandwich as I heard another customer saying great things about theirs. They didn’t have the one I wanted already prepared but Rob went above and beyond making a fresh one for me! All the staff were very pleasant with a great atmosphere in the cafe and a beautiful covered patio outside. Five star service!

I went to Equator today for the first time. I was craving a Vanilla Bean Skinny Latte but didn't see it on the menu so ordered a large latte. When I mentioned what I was craving, he made it for me! First to be in this coffee shop! We walked in and we were greeted by a server, took our order, and deliver our Late’ few minutes after that. Inside was cozy, lots of space, great for socializing and business visit. Decos was contemporary and modern, modern chairs and couch, washroom was a bit dirty, and the price I though it was a bit expensive, and we waited for a bit for our Late’s to get it, and that is the reason why I gave them 4* with a smile!😊 and server apologies for the waits. I must say, the Late flavour was great, I can taste the vanilla flavour, how ever, I find it very sweet. Patio was spacious! I recommend and certainly be back there for another Late’. Cheeerrrssss☕️☕️☕️

First time trying their vanilla ice matcha. I was very satisfied with its quality, I can taste the matcha quite well and the colour is a nice dark green. Their sweetener isn’t very sweet so if you like your drink to taste sweeter I would advise to add some fruit purée like mango or strawberry. Otherwise their customer service was impeccable, the staff was really nice and the overall vibe of the cafe was great. They also have a patio which was a great surprise.

Cute little place. Got an iced latte and went thrifting across the street. Very impressed by that smokey coffee flavour. I crave it all the time! It’s always busy in there so I always get to go, wouldn’t recommend for studying!

Visited from toronto, loved the vibes of the place and while it felt like a cafe you could find here, there was just something about it that drew me back to visit everyday of my trip. The drinks and desserts were amazing, staff was kind, place was clean. Only complaint was it was a bit pensive considering they fill half your cup with ice, but nothing out of the ordinary for a small owned coffee shop. Loved it, and will definitely be back!

I finally understand what the hype is all about and I'm happy to report I'm pleased. Ordered a chai latte and the veggie sandwich which was OMG mindblowing. There was some sweet factor in it but altogether each note hit the balance on spot! They do have seating space outside and inside but it was full but one of the servers very kindly setup a spot for me in the backyard. I thoroughly enjoyed and cant wait to go back and try the scones and cookies which looked extremely appetizing

Love the food, love the coffee. The staff are nice and get the job done. Arlington 5 has one of the better vegan sandwiches in Ottawa. This would be the perfect cafe except I wouldn't sit inside again. The music was way too loud. I could hear it through my noise cancelling headphones, and it was annoying. I had a headache by the time I was finished my coffee.

Super cute cafe! The baristas were super friendly and made great recommendations. They have a rotating seasonal menu and a unique little spot right near downtown in the Glebe. They also have gorgeous murals and art all over the exterior and interior of the building. I will definitely be returning.

The bookstore is such a delight. The drinks and pastries were very good, I got an elderberry iced tea lemonade, chocolatine, and a lemon square. Service was quick, friendly and pleasant. It's a great place to sit and work or to peruse their selection of books, as there are so many, I would suggest planning for a lot of time spent browsing. Exploring the selection in the well lit basement section was actually so peaceful and quiet. Loved the place and will visit again!

Literally amazing. Where else can you get hardcovers of popular books for less than $15?? Insane. I need to know their business model cause this is very impressive. Huge selection of books! The first floor I thought was already enough but they even have a basement. One of the few used books stores that like I mentioned, have more popular and well known books. They also carry a decent selection of new books that obviously aren’t discounted but still nice to have the option! Decent space inside too to sit and study and the cafe is great. I got a matcha latte which was good just wished it was stronger and an orange chocolate chip cookie that was delicious. Highly recommend, I will be back!!

There are plenty of used book options in a plethora of different genres. The price is also very affordable. The cafe is not a silent place to sit and read because of the rush. I went on a sunday so that might explain the rush, but a very great place to find books.

Super cute ! The barista was super impressive with their multitasking skills — they took orders, checked out customers, prepared drinks, and managed the oven. The book store is well curated and this is a cozy place to sit for a read or to enjoy a cup of coffee. They have macadamia milk which is a rare favourite. Their gluten free/vegan chocolate mint cookie is delicious!

My favourite place to visit! It has some of the best coffee in the area, and such an excellent selection of books. The newer titles are full price, but you can find some bestsellers heavily discounted. Don't neglect the downstairs where you can find even more books!

In a city with a lots of coffee shop, this surely is something different. Coffee in a book store. It’s an ambience to experience and a Good concept. Firstly, I tried Mocha here and it was good. They have like 5 options in coffee. Very limited food other than some pastries, obviously they don’t want food to ruin books. They had some vegan options too. The interior decor with old books around you with a coffee mug in your one hand and a book on your other is unexplainable feeling.. They have old and new book in two floor building. The book collection is really good and well organized. The staffs were really friendly and knowledgeable. There is parking in the side and also street parking in the front which was really helpful.

Got a latte and a breakfast sandwich, I would rate the taste and quality slightly above average. This place was strongly recommended to me, so I walked in with high expectations, but the outcome fell short of that. This is by no means bad, but not as special as I thought.

Every friday they offer a different choice of mini cakes , I found them adorable and perfect to make someone’s day . Each cake is 6$ or you can choose to get the 4 of them that is around 20$ . They also have a different sandwich every friday . You can look what they would have for the upcoming friday in their instagram page . The service was good and the food was delicious.

A tiny small iced latte was 8$. I’ve been to other Morning Owl franchises and their cups were way bigger for the same exact price. 3/4 of the coffee was ice. I went into the coffee shop thinking I could use the washroom. I saw a lady using the washroom so I thought if I bought the drink (it was a horribly made coffee btw) I could use the washroom. Then as I made my way to the washroom the cashier tells me that I cannot use the washroom. I made it very clear that I bought the drink to use the washroom but the cashier insisted that I cannot use the washroom. Mind you, he let another lady before me use it. I do wonder if he didn’t let me use it since I wasn’t white. The lady he let use was white. He mentioned that it wasn’t opened to the public but I previously bought the drink one second ago so shouldn’t that make me a customer?

Lovely coffee place! Was super busy when I walked in with only one person attending to the long line. Even still my drink was made perfectly and delivered with a smile!

I _really_ want to like this place since the food and drink are pretty good, the dude that works there is super chill and friendly and it's really close to where I live. Unfortunately, it's too pricey to make it a regular visit for me, hence the 3/5 star rating.

Great spot for coffee or tea. They carry baked goods from Maverick, and have breakfast options in the morning. Hours are catered to the government workers in the area. Very cute cafe but limited seating! Dumpling Park behind it is worth checking out for lunch!

It’s quite pricy (got a small latte and a muffin for $14) the worker was unfriendly, the muffin was soggy, and my hot latte was lukewarm at best. Would not recommend!

Decaf coffee that’s bold on taste — it does exist :-) My husband and I are big coffee drinkers, and we recently shifted to drinking decaf because we can’t handle too much caffeine. We’ve tried big national and global brands but they all come up short on taste — ie you know you’re drinking decaf (like you can tell when you’re having light butter or light mayonnaise — it’s just not the same). But then we came across Poppa Bean, a brand we haven’t encountered before. We saw a 450gm bag of decaf Sumatra Bold at a local coffee shop. We tried it and now we’re hooked. The taste is so full and so rich, you’d think, “it can’t really be decaf, can it?” But we love love love it. My husband tracked down the roaster’s address and today found ourselves at the doorstep of the friendliest and most welcoming business owner/roaster (Paul) we’ve ever met. I have tried dozens of local roasters in ottawa and I have to say papa bean is my new favorite! Incredible quality beans for an amazing price,it was only 5$ local shipping, i was blown away with the value.fast delivery. I read on the website that he's new Eraza beans were something special. They did not disappoint! Wow very good coffee beans. I have also ordered a bad of kenya beans that I can't seem to put the cup down. Very fruity coffee that are currently my favorite beans. I will be ordering many bags of coffee and I have recommended you to my friends. I'm looking forward to trying your espresso blend and many more.

I’ve been enjoying Papa Bean Coffee at the Ottawa Farmers’ Market for almost 10 years, and it’s hands down the best coffee I’ve ever had. The dark roast is my absolute favorite — rich, bold, and consistently excellent every single time. What makes Papa Bean even more special is the customer service. Paul doesn’t just sell coffee, he truly cares about his customers and treats everyone like family. Over the years, he’s become more than just my coffee guy — he’s become a friend. Enough with the store bought beans that sit on shelves for weeks or even months, there's a much better option... Recently found out we had a local roastery, Poppa Bean in Vars. Since trying their espresso beans, they are my go to from now on, great flavours and lots of crema. Will definitely be trying out the different kinds. Highly recommended. Haven't had the opportunity to visit their location, but I pick them up from Foodland in Russell.

What a wonderful mistake I made this morning in thinking this was a coffee shop! I drove there after dropping my kids off at Calypso, looking for a good cuppa. I was greeted by the owner. He offered me a cup of his homemade cold brew, explained how to make it, told me where he sources his coffee and how he meets the farmers. He sent me off with a bag of Sumatra and a smile. Btw the cold brew was delicious, thank you!

My wife brought me back a bag of your espresso beans from Canada. We live in Oxfordshire UK and I’ve not tasted coffee beans this good over here! I make my coffee with oat milk and it seems to work so well with these beans. Shame your shop doesn’t allow shipping to UK! 🙁

Coffee was okay but service could be better. Dropped by since I had seen the high rate on app. Looked like they did sale a great varieties of coffee beans, but for grabbing coffee at the shop, bean options were limited. Tried their Americano, came with 2 espresso shots and Brazil beans by default. It was okay. But it would be better if staff could be more patient over questions about the drink and beans.

This place is a nice quaint small coffee place. It is nice that they have seating and free WiFi in case you want to stick around to do some work, but there are only a few tables available. Pro and con as it keeps the place quiet but can get in the way of sticking around. Their hot cocoa is delicious!

Edited my review. Yes. Great coffee. But they refuse to make a triple long espresso. You can get a double or quad but not a triple. Everyone else can do it. Also what the hell is the wifi here? Really seats are very uncomfortable. Small room.

Great atmosphere for working or reading. Back has couch and chairs, front has tables. Loved their cappuccino, the espresso beans are nicely roasted. Not as bitter or dark as typically found in an espresso roast. Price for snack and specialty coffee is around $7-10

The service here was nice and efficient, and my drink tasted quite ok! It wasn’t the best I’ve had but it wasn’t bad. My only note is that I wish they would have whisked or mixed the matcha more with the oat milk so that it didn’t separate as much but I do recognize there’s only so much you can do when making drinks with dairy alternatives. The atmosphere was pretty nice and you get some great natural lighting!

Amazing coffee with freshly baked bakery. Blueberry muffins alone are worth visiting this place everyday.

Came here and tried a warm pumpkin spice latte; tasted like a regular latte but was delicious non the less. I also got a walnut pumpkin cookie which was cake like but very tasty. My only christique is that since it is both a blotching shop & cafe, the space is quite small so would recommend for very small groups or to go Overall would definitely come back !

Very safe and welcoming environment. The staff was very nice and helpful. I asked the barista for a recommendation and she suggested a mocha with macadamia milk. I never tried macadamia milk so she offered me a sample which was refreshing. The milk was slightly sweet and not too watery like other nut milks. I ended up going with the suggestion and loved it. It had the perfect amount cocoa, milk and coffee in it and was not too sweet, but sweet enough. My sister also got the same drink and we both agreed that we would definitely get this drink again. The cafe itself has a hipster vibe and is designed tastefully. It has an alpaca themed store inside of it. They have things such as stuffed alpacas, scarves, soaps, straw bags, snacks, clothing, etc. Overall great experience and would recommend this cafe to anybody in the westboro area.

Was pleasantly surprised by espresso, both caf and decaf espresso were great. Decaf espresso was even tastier than regular. Portions of espresso are large enough because they serve 2 shots by default.

Just had the most beautiful experience at this lovely cafe. The service for one is incredible. The staff is so genuine and nice. The kindest woman helped us choose our drinks and we went with iced matches. Hands down the best matcha in the city. Give them a try ! You won’t regret it :)

This is hands down my favourite café, I come here regularly and absolutely love the coffee. The atmosphere is usually warm and welcoming, and it’s become my go-to spot in the neighbourhood. That said, I’ve had a consistently negative experience with one particular staff member (a Black woman — I don’t know her name). Each time she’s working, the service feels noticeably cold and unwelcoming. There’s no greeting when approaching the counter, minimal eye contact, and a general lack of basic courtesies like “thank you” or “you’re welcome.” I’ve felt this way on multiple occasions, and my family also noticed it when they visited with me. I’m sharing this not to single anyone out or be unkind, but because I care about this café and want to see it continue to thrive. A little warmth and friendliness from all staff goes a long way in creating the kind of experience that keeps people coming back. Thank you for continuing to serve such great coffee

If you're looking for coffee that is roasted locally, supports and empowers employees with disabilities, and produces superb blends then this is the place to buy from! For my partner's birthday he was on the hunt for fruity anaerobic blends, so I ordered a bunch for him to try. The owner, Will, went above and beyond assisting me with finding a specific blend he recommended and even included a little surprise in his birthday shipment that made it extra special. The gift wrapping service was done beautifully and with care, and it was delivered fast. Overall it's clear that this organization is run by stellar humans who truly care about their work and coffee. They are a great example that when people are paid a living wage and supported, it shines through in the customer service. Thanks to Will and his team we'll be lifelong customers and I can't recommend them enough!

I very recently discovered The Artery, and was excited to have a local roaster just down the road! Just today I received my first two bags to try out: "Red Cat espresso" and "Mary's Finest". I excitedly got home to pull a couple shots and try them out and was very pleased with the results! The roast quality was great and evenly roasted, and I didn't have too much difficulty dialing in the grind setting on them. Additionally I really appreciate the mission statement behind the company, supporting workers with disabilities and fair wages for coffee farmers. It means a lot to me, and combined with good coffee, I look forward to trying more of the product range in the future and making this my go to coffee roaster :) P.S I also got a free lollipop with my order and handwritten thank you note, which gave me warm fuzzy feelings that combined nicely with the caffeine kick! 10/10

The coffee itself is incredibly flavorful and the quality is incredible: easily 5/5 for the product itself. I ordered Funky Fruit after trying and voting for it as best coffee at Ottawa Coffee Fest. The flavor is perfection if you want a special super fruity but also pleasantly strong pour over coffee. Seriously one of the most memorable coffees I've ever had, although it's very pricey it is worth it as a once in a while treat. The issue was how difficult it was to pick up the coffee after I had ordered and payed for it - rating (2/5) for convinience. As someone who works 9-5, I had no way to pick up my coffee as the business is only open 2 weekdays from 10am-3pm. I live nearby and am not looking to pay shipping on coffee that I can easily pickup. After talking with Will, who was very nice, he agreed to leave the coffee outside for me to pick up after they had closed which was kind of him. It's just unfortunate to have to make special arrangements to pick up a bag of coffee due to inconvenient/almost non existent hours of operation. As an overall experience id say 3.5/5 but rounded to 4 due to their quality product.

Bought freshly ground espresso from The Orléans Coffee Co. four times now for home-brewing. I found them from a post on the Ottawa subreddit about the best coffee in Ottawa and I can attest to the quality of their amazing quality. An added perk is their free delivery to your door option, if you live in Orléans/nearby. Proud to be supporting a local Canadian company!

I ordered off there Uber Eats profile "The Patty Shack" and it was disgusting. the first picture is what I ordered. The Rise and Shine Melt, the second picture is what I received. greasy, soggy bread, with 2 store bought flat fake patties. If you look up false advertising in the dictionary, you'll find the meal I ordered from here EDIT: I hope you do look into it, because this was highly disappointing.

Went for brunch and very impressed. Staff were super kind to our family members and the menu is extensive with food high quality, hot and fresh. Also they were excellent with dietary restrictions. The atmosphere is bright and clean. Will be back!

Found this hidden gem last week with a friend and we fell in love. The owner Karen is an absolutely gem- she was very personable and kind. Everything made in house- baked goods, breads and their syrups for coffee/tea. Many vegan/vegetarian options available. They even make their own vegan bacon from rice paper!! All the dishes we ordered were absolutely delicious. Looking forward to coming back and trying out their whole menu.

This cafe is a hidden gem in Ottawa! The smash burger was delicious and juicy plus they had a great selection of beverages and snacks. Great place to grab & go or to sit down for a while and do some work. I would recommend as a great place for working + to grab a bite to eat ! They also have art from local artist which is a nice touch.

We are in town visiting and stopped in for breakfast, really glad we did..... The service was great, so friendly. The food was amazing, I had the mushroom melt, my wife had the breakfast bowl, and my daughter had a tropical smoothie with a croissant, everything was amazing. Definitely will be returning and we have already told or friends and family in Ottawa they have to go check it out.

Respectful and friendly staff, a comfy atmosphere that feels genuine, not pretentious or "artsy for the sake of being artsy". The Salmon breakfast option from the menu was so good, I had eaten and forgot to take a picture of my meal. Will definitely come back whenever the opportunity arises.

Not your average breakfast spot. This high quality cafe made my meal to-order. COVID protocols were closely followed and lots of spacious seating to keep your physical distance. The latte was hot, and breakfast bowl freshly prepared. This place has a small bakery in-house and boasts a great vegetarian, vegan, and regular/meat menu options. Highly recommend for a casual healthy and fulfilling meal. Great value!

I only come here 1 or 2 times a year because I don't live in the area, but this is my first choice. The service is welcoming and the staff really care. I had the breakfast sandwich (vegetarian today) and a brewed coffee. Although the establishment apoears small, there is ample seating is available. In previous visits, I have had their grilled cheese sandwiches that are excellent.

Excellent flat white ☕ in a warm cozy space. Baristas are friendly to the neighbors and students, but not to the pets. Really appreciate the high quality coffee ☕ Flat white is not as good as what I used to drink in Seoul, but just the fact that they make it here is very inspiring. Pets can stay in the patio, baristas get annoyed by pets inside, which is fair.

This cute little café was a nice surprise. Tucked away in Beechwood the vegan chocolate square was delicious. I also had a laté with almond milk and it was fantastic. Will rerun for sure. The space inside is small so I could not eat in.

I’m a huge fan of red door provisions. I don’t go as often as I should, but whenever I do, I love to get their seasonal drinks. This summer season, I went on a matcha date with one of my friends and we each got two seasonal matcha drinks. One was a butterfly pea tea base with matcha while the other was a lavender honey matcha. Both tasted amazing. Good quality matcha and good mix of bases. I love their classic menu items as well. Coffee or tea are both great options here. If you’re ordering food too, their grilled cheese sandwiches are delicious. Buttery, crispy and flavourful. Don’t even get me started on their baked goodies - I’ve tried nearly everything, but I gravitate towards their cookies and assorted pastries like croissants and turnovers! Definitely a must visit spot if you’re in the area or looking for a cute and quaint coffee spot to sit and chat in!

Stopped in for a coffee and a bite to bring to work. Maybe it was the early morning feel but this place just felt tranquil. Coffee (flat white) was good and the various food items I tried were also very good. With only one worker, it wasn't a quick stop but I appreciate the attention to detail in the work. The only hesitation I would have to go regularly is the prices as the various items are a bit pricey. Parking is also an issue with limited parking on Beechwood and side streets so it seems to be more a place for the locals. Lucky them.

It's been a while since I've come across a coffee shop that has it all; excellent service, great food, perfect coffee, and a very nice, clean, and simple vibe. It was my first time here and definitely won't be my last. Our barista Dona was also incredibly nice and funny. She knew my father and I were sharing a Beechwood Grilled Cheese sandwich, which was excellent by the way, and pre cut and served it on two separate plates without being asked to. It was very refreshing to experience good quality and friendly service like that. Thank you for a lovely time.

I was just at the Orléans Poutine Fest today and La Catrina food truck graced us with their presence. They were offering their panuchos, empanadas, taquitos, churros, and churro poutine which I thought were great options! I decided to try the panuchos, described as tostadas topped with cochinita, beans, lettuce, and pickled onions... When I tell you they changed my life I'm not exaggerating 😍 their tostada was homemade and lightly fried which was super tasty and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The cochinita was incredibly tender and flavourful wonderfully paired with the veggies. The order came with 3 and they were not stingy on the portions! It was marvelous, and I wish I would have tried their other menu items! I shall definitely be back.

This is a cute spot! We got a Spanish hot chocolate, regular hot chocolate, churros, pulled pork sandwich and pulled beef sandwich. Everything was good; the sandwiches (torta) were good value ($11 each and HUGE). The bread was crusty and fluffy. They have some milk alternatives for the regular hot chocolate which was nice!

This is a cute little spot to enjoy some hot (or cold) drinks with some fresh churros. They offer a variety of fillings/dip for the churros you can’t go wrong with the chocolate or Dulce de Leche! I miss their spicy hot chocolate, it’s the reason I came back but I didn’t see it on the menu. The interior is really nice and lively with decorations and a beautiful mural! The staff are very nice and friendly, if you order dine in then they bring up the food to you. The only downside is the high price… Definitely would revisit and recommend

The family and I love trying Churros wherever we go and this place has the best in Ottawa. Their dulce de leche dipping sauce was great too! The best churros are crispy on the outside and soft, almost chewy, on the inside! Well done La Catrina!

I was so happy to see that they offer vegan churros with 2 vegan filling options. Very delicious, freshly made to order churros. The coffee was ok. The Mexican hot chocolate is delicious! Note: alternative milk is an extra 1$ charge. Very friendly staff and seating indoor and outdoor.

Ideal Cafe's Monster BLT with a medium roast coffee, and for about 20$ after taxes and tip. And it's a BIG BLT - a great value the money. The atmosphere is relaxed and the customer service is outstanding as always.

Been getting beans from here on and off for many years, love managing to come in when they are in an active roast cycle as the place smells really good. I had the pleasure of having the monster BLT and the name doesn't disappoint, shared this with my partner and we enjoyed every bite. Staff are super charming and the red headed cashier was really on the ball with all the orders!

Moved in the area recently and I saw this little place passing by. Had to try. I'm happy to announce I'm addicted now. Low price coffee (iced coffee same price!) And it's got a nice roast. Food is out of this world like I didn't even know it was possible to make chocolate chip cookies this good? Haven't tried anything on the lunch items other than the sausage breakfast wrap and it's amazing. I had to finally write a review after going almost daily for over a month. This maple bacon donut broke me. I can't explain it. You just have to go try it. Yes, on paper 3$ for a donut sounds wild, but it is the best investment you will ever make. And you know the best part? Their coffee is super affordable, so it balances out, unlike other cafes. They can't keep getting away with this! Actually they can. Please visit. Local cafes need all the support. ☕️

Recently moved to Ottawa and I'm so glad I found this spot! It's a fantastic place to dine in and 'get away' from the big city. Very cozy inside and there's always very relaxing music being played. The food and drinks here are delicious and reasonably priced. I'd highly recommend the iced mocha and the Italian deli sandwich, but you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu.

Ideal Coffee has been my go-to spot for fresh roasted espresso for my home espresso machine for the past 3+ years. I drink their espresso daily, and it is always super consistent, fresh, perfectly roasted, and wonderfully flavorful.☕️ Brazilian Espresso (5/5) - this is my daily go-to bean of choice for a bold flavored espresso with notes of chocolate and nutts, as well as a pleasant sweetness. It shines through milk based drinks beautifully, and tastes equally incredible as a shot or iced American (for the summer) as well! ☕️ I brew at home with Breville Infuser and Smart Grinder Pro. If you're into dark roasts, their Princess of Darkness beans is my favorite dark roast I've had. It also deservingly won best coffee at Ottawa Coffee Fest a couple years back! All their food is also delicious. The breakfast wrap is super cheesy and enormous; guaranteed to fill you up! The BLT was also amazing; bacon had great flavor and the bread choice was perfect 👌

Really cool, cozy, and warm place that serves good coffee by friendly staff. Their baked goods are really good, but not cheap ($2/cookie). Their chocolate chip cookies are really good, and the scones are generous in size. Tried the raspberry and white chocolate scone which was moist, but I didn't really taste the raspberry or white chocolate. The coffee is really good. Would definitely recommend dropping by and enjoying a relaxing cup of joe.

A bright airy, but busy coffee shop. It is a busy spot and does get quite loud as the tables are close together. My breakfast wrap with tomato and basil and macchiato tasted good, but I definitely agree with the other reviews: cold customer service. When I approached the register it felt like I was bothering the staff and definitely not a welcoming environment. Sorry for coming to bother you at your establishment. Management: please provide some customer training for the staff.

An old friend and I wanted to catch up so we visited this café last week. We decided to try this place out because it was near uOttawa’s RGN and we were looking for future study spots! I ordered an apple turnover and a hot chai latte and she ordered a muffin and tea! I spent maybe ~$12 with tax and tip. The service was great overall! The baristas were witty and welcoming and it didn’t take long for us to get our orders. We stayed for about an hour and a half just chatting and enjoying our orders! We had a great time overall and will definitely be back during the school year!

Spacious café with a pleasant atmosphere and convenient parking, which is definitely a plus. Unfortunately, the service was not that good — the staff seemed more interested in chatting among themselves than interacting with customers. No smiles, no warm greetings, which made the experience feel a bit cold.

The lemon cake was $5 for a tiny piece and incredibly dry. When I asked for a slice that was baked more recently I was told that it was the freshest and baked recently. The pumpkin spice latte was good. The staff were nice enough and asked if I wanted anything else, it wasn’t clear if I was being given something in exchange for the inedible lemon cake or if I was being asked if I wanted to buy something new. So I said no thanks. I don’t think I’ll go out of my way again.

We were there the other day and there were no parking spots available. A car pulled in and parked in the handicap spot. Why would I think anything of it? It wasn't until I saw the lady open the trunk and pull out milk bags and grocery bags and walk in. She came back out with an employee and continued to unload product for their shop. When she left I asked her to roll down her window. I asked if she was the owner and she said no that she was the owners sister . I then questioned why she thought it was okay to park in a handicap spot to unload groceries for the store . She said it was just for 30 seconds and that there was no parking available. I said 30 seconds is illegal and that spot is meant for your customers who are disabled . She mumbled and apology and left. I don't know why she thought she was entitled to park there and unload the vehicle. Our friends and family will never be returning for this reason.

Super cozy atmosphere here, the barista is so nice and the drinks are great! They offer complimentary lemon and mint water, using glassware! Your drink is customizable on the side and you can add toppings for your hot drinks like cocoa powder for example! They also have few board games to choose from! Definitely recommend coming here for a cute and cozy place 🤍

Coffee is great and this is really a 4.5/5 review! I tried the raspberry brownie which was fresh but felt more like fluffy spongecake than fudgy/decadent. Loves all the natural light and plants, has lost of seating but I really dislike round tables (no comfy space to rest my laptop, phone, coffee and elbows all at once) I also wish there was some shade options on the patios. The vibes are immaculate tho! So pretty and comfy that it feels like I am at home. Shout out to the throw pillows and book shelves 😍

Visited this cafe for the first time the other day to study with some friends! Given the season, we ordered some fall-themed drinks (pumpkin spice chai) and sat outdoors because the weather was nice. My drink was absolutely delicious and was a great compliment to my study session. The wifi worked well, so we were able to lock in for a couple of hours before leaving. Would highly recommend!

It's obviously very popular in the neighborhood where it is situated, given how busy it was. With patios on each side and comfortable seating, Ten Toes Coffee House is definitely on my top 10 list of cafés to frequent this summer.

The coffee shop also offers a variety of milk options to accommodate different preferences and dietary needs. The coffee shop had a cozy ambiance where you can enjoy your coffee while reading a good book. They have seating areas and a small library of books to choose from. Plants are found around the coffee shop thus creating a peaceful atmosphere where you can relax. 🚫♿️: However, the coffee place is NOT accessible for wheelchair users. The coffee shop should consider improving accessibility by making adjustments to the steps at the front entrances of the coffee shop. ☀️🕶️: Patio space is offers in front and back of the coffee shop!

The perfect place to read, write, and even dog friendly (always a challenge with a terror dachshund). The staff were so friendly with food for all dietary needs, two (!) patios (in front and out back), and even a doggie water dish. What a gift to the neighbourhood!

I got a latte which was great and a super flavourful yummy egg salad sandwich that I split with my friend ! Service was top notch and kind. My first time here today but definitely not my last!

This cafe was on our way when we were doing a vintage hunting, love the place for the vibe, very artsy, dark-vintage core vibe, only that the place was quite small so consider if you are coming in a big group. I was blown away by their decorations and forgot to take a photo of the food, but it was decent, didn’t really stand out to me taste wise. So if you’re a person who’s interested in cafes with unique atmosphere, definitely give it a shot, but if you’re looking for cafe with an outstanding menu, maybe consider a bit. Glad I visited!

Really cute hole in the wall Cafe!! The food is immaculate, though the breakfast sandwich is a little underwhelming for the price. I got a soup, and it was incredible, definitely recommend. The coffee is amazing, and the presentation, perfect. The service was incredible and very nice. The atmosphere was cure and a little rustic, but most of the art on display was not for sale, which kinda sucks. Anyway, great experience

One of the most overrated places I’ve seen in Ottawa. OVERPRICED! You pay 20 bucks for two nothing-special, cold coffees that come in cardboard cups. The place is very rundown. It doesn’t make it very “artsy” when you put random paintings on the walls.

It is perfect spot if you want to do some work. Lots of small tables and seating. Fairly quiet. The coffee and tea we got was underwhelming. We tried the fall specials, but there was not anything special about them. Ginger cookie was great.

Water is something you can serve yourself from the counter on the side. They even provide water glasses for you to do just that. They had food items that I would want to try next time too!

Coffee is 7/10. I ordered regular latter and it was your regular latte. The place itself is a bit too dark for my liking , but it’s VERY spacious. It is a great spot for catching up with friends but maybe not so much for getting work done or studying there. Food selection is okay, more of a quick snack but definitely not a lunch spot . Employees were VERY nice and hella fast even tho it was quite packed when we went there. Overall a cool spot to explore with a very chill vibe :)

The drinks are very good! I had the Nutella latte and the regular latte, both are good! I had the sausage egg breakfast sandwich, probably one of the best! Staff are nice. Patrons are cool Ottawa hipsters! You see bikes in the shop or parked out front. I bring my two year old daughter and I see other little kids in there. Cool, open, and friendly environment. Why only 4 stars? Because the breakfast sandwich was cool in the middle, and I ordered the bacon sandwich, not sausage. Will I go back? Absolutely! Everytime I visit from Boston, that's my go to coffee shop!

Very good quality coffee. The interior of this place is excellent. The sandwiches are also great. I had mocha and it tasted excellent quality flavour. They have both outdoor and indoor seating.

Nice place, had the Nutella latte, PB & Joy chocolate bar 🍫 and the Maple Cookie 🍪 Latte... excellent! PB & Joy ... nice little darker chocolate snack Maple Cookie... good taste. A little too hard and brittle in my opinion. Also quite quite small for $2.50 also. Should be about a buck for a cookie that small. Overall the coffee shop is a nice little gem, but stick to the coffee and you will be very happy 😊

A review based on an experience that occurred over a year ago: Tried this coffee shop for the first time today - five stars for their matcha latte! Definitely coming back to try the other drinks on their menu. Location is simply great and the ambiance is very laid back.

A really homey place with wood furniture and cool art on the wall. They had soft rock and acoustic music playing, which really added to the vibe without distracting me from my work. Reasonable prices and tasty coffee. They have limited seating during COVID as long as you submit your info for contact tracing. I will say you might want to bring a cushion if you're planning on staying a while, and the A/C was blasting when I went, so a jacket as well.

I can’t understand why their small cappuccino is different from the medium one. When I ordered the medium cappuccino, it came with just the right amount of foam and latte art, but the small cappuccino was just poured into a deep mug with milk and foam. One of my drinks was incorrectly made, and they just apologized and moved on. I really expect much on this café, but now I'm hesitant to try another branch.

Tables hadn't been cleaned all day from the looks of them, despite the place being empty when we were there. Food was okayish. How do you call a salad with kale, pumpkin seeds(?), chicken peas and mystery (non-garlic) dressing a Caesar? Chai lattes were good, but holy over-priced Batman! Won't be going there again. I didn't see any reason for the prices being so high.

Excellent cafe, good vibes, good staff,good coffee...Only complaint is that the tables could be wiped down more often. And the black leather sofa is old and not what it used to be when they first opened back in 2014...Think it's time for a new one ;). I like the cappuccino and lattes,often made with a heart ❣️

My favorite bridgehead in Ottawa! I have had many moments at this special locations with both my private and work life. The service at this location is amazing and well managed, it’s usually busy as it’s at a very convenient meeting location near the highway!

Had a lovely Oat Milk Latte - I do think you nee to pay attention to the state of the furniture in store and outside. Rackity stuff, couch that looks like its taken a literal beating and the wooden chairs and tables are so wobbly we had to hold our coffee cups because the tables moved so much!

2022 June update Sat down for a coffee in a rainy afternoon. The decor is a bit scattered as it was a bit industrial, a bit zen and a bit of contemporary. There were 4 single sofas and they were all overly saggy…… but at least they were thicker than the covers on the benches. However their terrace with angular boulders looks like a nice tucked away space with trees and some natural elements. Ordered cafe latte. First batch was weak so I went back and asked for one more shot of espresso because it was all milky and no coffee …… staff remade the latte for me as she explained it is 2 shots of expresso. The new batch was slightly better but still not stiff enough for me. Nevertheless , at least she did not just ditch me and told me to drink the milky blunder……🤭. Really good coffee, though slightly too bitter for my taste. Very friendly service. No seating but they have some standing room. Nice vibe. I usually like to sit down and have a pastry with my coffee, so not my top choice for coffee in the city, but still would recommend it if in the area and just looking for a good quality coffee.

Stopped here for lunch on our way to Quebec, such a nice spot. They have sweet as well as savoury waffle dishes along with good varieties of drinks. I tried their waffle quesadilla which was delicious. It was just perfect, right balance of flavours, good crisp- so good. The vibe of the place is pretty chill and friendly. They do have indoor seating along with couple tables outside. Highly recommend to check out this cute little spot.

I recently tried Sharpfle Waffle and really enjoyed their unique menu. The Korean fried chicken was crispy and flavorful, and the quesadilla waffle was a tasty mix of cheesy, savory goodness wrapped in a crispy waffle. Both dishes were satisfying and memorable. The food was good, but the service was lower than I expected. The staff were friendly, but they didn’t offer us water while we were dining in, which didn’t make much sense and affected the overall experience. Tried the fire chicken waffle sandwich with soup and yuzu lemonade. The waffle was crispy, the fire chicken had a nice kick. Great balance of spicy and sweet. Highly recommend for spicy food lovers! Soup was sweet and comforting, and the yuzu lemonade was super refreshing. Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff.

Quick little counter service, the menu isn't overwhelming but has plenty of sweet and savory options. I got thr egg salad waffle with sweet potato soup and an iced matcha. All were good but the egg salad stole the show with the balance from the arugula and pickled onions contrasting the creamy egg. If I was local I would certainly return! If I make it back to the area I hope to try one of the sweet waffles. I also saw what I think was a snow cone/shaved ice covered with various jellies being delivered as I headed out and it looked refreshing for this heat wave! It's a small location so best for I'd say groups of 1-4 but there is indoor and outdoor seating available. The staff was welcoming and friendly throughout ordering and table service.

I had a lovely ham and cheese croissant waffle with a sweet potato soup and the butterfly iced tea. It was all fantastic and our server was killing it (someone called out that day and he was on top of every order, props to him) 🙏

Spacious cafe with large community-style tables. I only had coffee so can’t speak to the food, but looked like most people came for breakfast. Staff didn’t know what beans were being used for espresso and drip coffee which I thought was odd 🤷🏼‍♀️ It’s on a lower level, about 6 steps down to get in. 1hr free parking on side streets.

This review is specifically on the creamy banana matcha latte. I liked the idea, but would like to see more matcha in the drink. It was almost entirely banana milk and little to no matcha taste; that felt unfair for the price paid… That disappointed me but the shop is nice and I know they have good food and other good drinks (like the mocha!)

I was really impressed by their butter croissant and even asked if they made it in house, and they do! So delicious. I’ve also tried their brunch, baked goods, and drinks, and everything has been great every time I visited :)

I had their pistachio latte and it tasted overtly artificial, and a little too sweet despite me expressing that I didn’t want it to be. My friend ended up taking my drink and getting me an iced latte (with no sugar) and it was better but nothing special. Their roast tasted a little cheap. Their avocado toast is really really good and so is the breakfast sandwich. Seats are cozy but most of the times it’s always too full. Service is great though.

The strawberry croissant was incredible! I also really enjoyed their peach fruit soda coffee. I have never had a drink like it before and it was so tasty. The staff are really kind and shop has a wonderful atmosphere.

Try their specialty drinks instead of the usual cappuccino or Americano ,great taste and a cozy atmosphere! Just a small suggestion for the owner or staff: consider adding more comfortable chairs, as the current seating might be a bit uncomfortable for longer visits. Other than that, everything is great from the interior to the staff service!

My favorite coffee shop in Ottawa ever, it’s so beautiful, the staff is great and the menu is delicious! Their sky latte (iced or warm) has japanese caramel in it and it is the most delicious drink ever. I had to get another one to go. I’ve also had the chicken and chocolate croissant and both were very tasty, the chicken croissant has a particularly inovative taste.

The quality and service is one of the best. You will not be disappointed. Almond croissant is just amazing.

Cozy coffeehouse just beside the beachconers. Great place to dine-in, relax, work and catchup with friends. Beautiful ambience with with Indore and ourdoor setting available. High chairs indoors facing outside, and large chair outdoor for more relaxed sitting. I usually take a walk to this coffee house for some a cup of cappuccino and some scones. You should try it; A cup of cappuccino here is about $5.25 (plus tax). Beautiful artwork done inside makes it great for pictures.

We stubbled upon this cute little bike style cafe shop on our ride yesterday and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The affogato was to die for!! My first time having affogato and I don’t think I can go any other way now! The ice cream made from scratch was exceptional, a must try forshure!

We came across this small but pleasant coffee shop by accident. However, it was a good find due to the quality of the coffee and food. The coffee is good, as is the food. We ordered 2 grilled sandwiches: they were simple but flavourful. The scones are yum, too. The outdoor seating allows you to see the world go by. Lots of cyclists, walkers, and joggers going to the park and the waterfront. They have a nice ice cream store connected to them. It's definitely worth a visit.

Underwhelming experience, quite expensive for subpar products. I really wanted to like it - the scone was so dry and more like an English scone style’ rather than scone from indigenous communities and I would say the same about the strawberry drink, it just tasted like water with a hint of strawberry-instead of the usual bright burst :( 25$ for espresso shot, 2 berry drinks and the scone. I don’t think I will be back!

Stopped in for a flat white and discovered a very quaint coffee shop. There is much to look at inside, they sell handmade art and crafts I believe by indigenous artists. I enjoyed taking a look while I waited my turn to order. The cashier was pleasant and smiley. The coffee was quality with a tasty dairy alternative. Sometimes these can miss the mark. Not today. There was plenty of seating that I’ll make use of next time. Great stop.

Beandigen is delightful and the coffee and tea has always been delicious. The lavender iced London fog is especially amazing!! And they’ve got nitro cold brew which I love :) everyone is kind and helpful and the art they have is beautiful.

We ran an event at this cafe and jayde had everything ready for us when we arrived. The coffee and treats were great, and we felt very welcome and not rushed. The lemon squares were wonderful.

A friend purchased a gift card for us over the phone while we were in town visiting family. They had it ready for us at the cafe, which was wonderful. The menu is small and refined - which is what you're looking for in a cafe. They roast and sell their beans on site, which we were lucky to see and get a small demonstration from one of the people working on the coffee. Our drinks were tasty and the space is welcoming. My only critique is that we arrived only one hour after opening, and the pastry case was nearly empty. Overall, a cute little coffee shop and a hidden gem for the area. We'll be back next time we are in town!

I went to the Café Joyeux coffee shop today and tried their latté and loved it so I bought some coffee as gifts. It’s a really nice cozy spot at 1600 Laurier St. in Rockland, ON, across the street and slightly East of the Giant Tiger. There is parking at the side. It’s a nice clean place where people wear masks. What??? There is hand sanitizer at the door, friendly owners and a couple of tables spaced well apart. They are happy and “Joyeux” to talk about coffee. A must visit spot for those living in or driving through Rockland.

Gorgeous cafe with one of the best decaf coffees I’ve ever had! Delicious vegan desserts as well - I had a vegan brownie and a vegan cakepop. Very good vibes and cozy space as well, with some board games to play. Will definitely return here!

The young lady that served me was so kind pleasant her and I both mentioned that we loved cats , she showed me a photo of her kitten and I showed her a photo of my 14 year old female cat called Crazy Girl. Was getting fed up paying $16-$20 for a 375 gram bag of mass produced coffee a the grocery stores, so found this place which I tried out recently. Lady was extremely helpful, she asked what flavors I like and what brewing method I use. Based on that, she recommended a bean. $18/lb (454 grams) Bans can be purchased either ground or bean. They sell half pound for $9. The coffee is delicious. Highly recommend.

The "coffee" might be good here, but I was very disappointed with the espresso roasts. I asked for a 'classic italian' style espresso roast and they gave me their "Vacation Blend" and their 'Dark Roast Espresso'. Both have an over-extracted, really bitter taste. Yes, the extraction is something you can control, but it certainly doesn't work in my setup. I've got a La Pavoni lever machine and a Sette270 grinder. In order to decrease the over-extraction you have to grind coarser, but it got to the point that the espresso would run out of the machine very fast without even applying the lever, and still the taste is bitter and awful. I read good reviews about this place and was really hoping for a good experience. Would not recommend for espresso.

Amazing coffee! Love the Yemen beans they have been getting in recently. Always cool to pop in the back door when they are roasting and have a look. Excellent spot to get a locally roasted beans.

Owner is very nice and friendly. We got medium roast Costa Rican since we loved it when we got them from Costa Rica. But I am not sure why the beans are so hard, it cracked my grinder. If you are buying this and you use a hand grinder, be careful. We also bought the Tanzanian peaberry, but hasn’t tried it yet.

I have been buying coffee from Kafia for at least 25 years. Their George’s Eye Peeler never fails, and it’s fresh-roasted to the point that sometimes the beans are still warm. Kafia receives my highest recommendation.

Kafia is fantastic! Great prices and a wide variety of beans. The staff are lovely and informative, and they even gave us a tour of their roasting facilities. Highly recommended!

A few things went wrong. First, the coffee cup they gave me was chipped and stained so I didn't feel like it was clean enough - see photo. Secondly, they ask for a tip as you pay, but then you stand and wait for your coffee AND they expect you to bring your dishes to this station that has a very cheap hand-written sign - see photo. Couldn't they simply use a printer to have something a little more formal? Thirdly, some older man behind the counter was not helping the staff be he paced around on his cell phone talking louder than anyone else in the place and he even paced near our table - very annoying and bothersome - not a pleasant visit. They served my wife tea in a coffee mug without a saucer so there was no place to leave the tea bag. Lastly, my wife almost killed herself when the lop-sided stool she was using almost keeled over - see photo. I was not impressed by this location - the location near the Trainyards is so much better managed.

Open space high ceiling coffee place. Feels like no frills and simple décore. Large latte and medium latte were in picture and large was served in a take out cup…. Despite the order was paid together. Large did not feel larger. Disappointed that no environmentally for in place consumption.

I haven’t had a lot from Figaro yet, but what I have tried has been surprisingly good. The quality stands out, and it feels like a place that really knows what it’s doing. Definitely looking forward to going back and exploring more of what’s on the menu.

Clean, modern, and quiet nice cafe. The tables are distanced and are cleaned regularly. The baristas are friendly. However, the tables are made in the center and far from the walls that it likely wouldn’t be the best place for ones who need plugs to charge their devices and study. I got a cold lavender latte, and it was very very nice. It was light yet flavorful, and it didn’t have a strong floral taste which I enjoyed.

I like their coffee. The problem is it’s very slow. They don’t accept pick up order for coffees by phone! There is a person who is at the cashier and at the same time prepare coffees. That made me go to the Starbucks nearby which I wouldn’t prefer to go there but I had to! I hope the manager see this and put more staff there specifically in the morning!

The first time I went there the food and coffee were good. The second time the sandwich was disgusting. The meat wasn't cooked all the way through. I took it to go so I couldn't return it. The last time I went I noticed the coffee less than 3/4 full. I won't be back.

I'm only here for the weekend but need my morning / early afternoon fixes. I saw a myriad of coffee shops like Tim Hortons, Starbucks, Second Cup and Bridgehead but then stumbled on this cute coffee shop. I came here for two days. The barista even remembered me and greeted me warmly. got a capuccino Saturday and then a flat white on Sunday. Needless to say, it was very good. Recommend 10/10. PS: They also serve oat milk for those who are intolerant to lactose like me (or vegan).

I had a very enjoyable Cortado at the Ministry of Coffee. This specialty coffee was made with their Baseline roast. It was served in glassware with some beautiful late art, and a gold spoon to mix. It was a tad bit acidic on the first sip but that became less noticeable as I continued drinking.

Americano wasn’t very strong tasting, could have been better, and no drip coffee option. Prices were also a little more on the expensive side. Would go back for the vibes, but not necessarily the drinks.

The barista has an interesting strategy of sourcing the beans. Always can have something to express for. Hope the pastries can be freshly baked in house. I really wanted to like this little coffee shop. Went out of our way to visit it as I saw online that they’re about featuring rotating micro roasters and emphasizing the coffee itself, and that they encourage minimizing waste through reusable cups. The space itself is cool too, nice vibe and good music though very dead on a weekend afternoon. Unfortunately, our experience was a bit disappointing. It was so dead, one of the guys in the back working @ Torta Boyz (?) had to nudge the barista to get her to see we were in and needed to be served. While we were ordering, I asked which coffee was featured as the espresso and the barista had no idea which seemed strange for a place that is supposed to be focused on the coffee. We ordered oatmeal cinnamon cookies and cortados. The cookies were fine but I’ve had far better cookies at nearly every other coffee shop nearby. For the cortados, we were expecting small cups with 1:1 espresso to milk. Instead, the coffee came in large mugs (16 oz maybe?) filled to the brim. I know there are variations on the cortado but general consensus is usually 1:1 espresso to milk and no variation I've ever heard of comes this diluted/massive. I’m okay with dark roasts but the drink somehow tasted watery as well as over extracted and bitter. It’s the first time I think I’ve ever left an independent coffee shop without drinking all of my coffee (my partner also didn’t finish his). Suffice to say, this was a huge letdown. Places in Ottawa like Arlington Five, Drip House, Art House Café, Red Door Provisions, Ministry of Coffee, Little Victories and Equator all are worth more of your time. I’m disappointed because I think the idea of the place is sound, the concept of rotating micro roasters is unique for Ottawa (kind of like a coffee version of Bar Lupulus) but, especially for a place that I thought was going to be really elevated and on point about their coffee, this just didn’t hit the marks when we visited. I may try again one more time in the next few months and revise my review if I have a better second experience.

Found this delicious coffee in my stocking. I think Santa got it at Thyme and Again. Ran it through my new grinder, brewed up in a french press and going for another right now. Local Ottawa Valley and seems to have a deep eco environmentally conscious foundation which is a bit of a bonus.

I have been ordering many varieties of coffee, from single origin, regional and blended, from Fluid for over five years and always been very satisfied with the high quality of their coffee. Their commitment to environmentally-friendly practices is unmatched. I would totally recommend trying them out, they also sell smaller packages around Ottawa. Roasted at home with solar energy in a woodstove heated construction. Coffee provided at Planet Coffee in Byward Market. Sales online and in some shops throughout Ottawa, Almonte,Clayton, Smith Falls and the area. The owners make a serious effort to reduce their ecological footprint in the sale and delivery of their products.

I ordered about 4kg of coffee after buying about 3.7 before from Bike Café before they closed for the winter. It arrived 2 days later. I used to only drink dark roast, but even their light roasts come out rich with my 12 year-old espresso machine. Invest in an accurate manual coffee grinder and freeze your beans! Impeccable customer service only marginally beaten by their coffee.

My husbands absolute favourite coffee! The only issue we ever have with it is keeping it in stock! We wish it was sold everywhere but we now subscribing so he’ll never run out! Super friendly staff as well!

Absolutely outstanding .. I have been on the hunt for an amazing local roaster for a while and came across Francesco's. Their customer service is top notch. When calling in regarding recommendations the staff is always well knowledgeable and give very good recommendations. I'm a very picky coffee drinker, but every coffee bean type I have bought has been unbelievable. Hard to see a roaster caring about feedback, but Francesco's really do ask and care for it. 10/10 would recommend.

Amazing coffee! I worked at a small coffee house as a teenager and we would get our beans from Francesco's (so fresh, the beans were still warm). I still go here to get my coffee beans and syrups, it's the best! I recommend their Espresso Garibaldi, it's fair trade (I won’t buy anything that isn’t fair trade). Their staff is great, and they offer curb side pickup!

Excellent coffee beans and very nice to chat with about different beans and coffees. Currently working on bags of Cremoso and going back to buy more. Will try others going forward and looking forward to trying the Tanzanian Peaberry as well as Peruvian, and who knows... others as well! Will ship 3 bag orders for free but if in a rush, call ahead and drop by for quick orders! My first bag of beans was fresh packed from the back where the roasting is done while I waited. Highly recommended.

I incidentally found this place while I was looking for a coffee shop to have my 1 o'clock espresso and Google Maps pointed it out to me. Although they do not sell ready-to-drink coffee there, my experience with Pietro, president of the company and Francesco's grandson, made me want to buy a real espresso machine only to start buying coffee beans from them. We had a really good chat about coffee and coffee machines, and as I was about to leave he offered me a cup of coffee from the machine available for his usual clients. I had a Papua New Guinea coffee and that was one of the best coffees I ever had! Now I'm looking forward to buying my long-wished espresso machine and becoming a new regular at Francesco's. I've tried four of the coffees that are sold by Good Oswald and they were all good. The prices are reasonable and delivery was as indicated. This is a local company and it shows in the service. I recommend it.

My husband and I found No Go Coffee Co. at Spencerville fair today - it was so good, we went back 3 times! The hot coffee had a great roasted flavour that was really smooth and not bitter or gritty tasting. The iced lattes were a great way to beat the heat - I can't decide if I liked the chocolate or hazelnut flavour shot better. The staff were super friendly and their truck was really cute and clean. My one and only regret: not buying a bag of coffee to bring home!

How does this place only have two 5 star reviews!? This is the only place worth buying coffee from within a 20 mile radius. They also serve a ton of tasty treats at exceptional prices.

My experience is 5 star positive. I do not like coffee to drink (I am a chocolate lover myself) but I use it in my baking. My husband loves it and is a fussy espresso drinker. He uses Suzie Sips for his espresso every day and I just made Chocolate Espresso Cookies (with three times the espresso from the recipe) and is delicious. Many of my friends have enjoyed this coffee and will now only need to get Suzie Sips because it is an original, local blend from a fabulous, kind, giving community member and person. I will buy Suzie Sips for friends, for gifts and little thank you notes and hostess gifts. Why not? Easy to store and such a pretty package. Great to give out to teachers. I am also a teacher and these teachers drink their coffee!! We also send it to our son - not a heavy package to send by mail - BTW need another package Sue :)

Best coffee and best marketing out there. Really can’t go wrong with Suziesips High Octane blend for a solid caffeine kick, and super easy to get around Ottawa area with free delivery. Customer service is great and very friendly, I don’t think you’ll ever have any sort of problem with the exceptional service and the outstanding blends of coffee that’s being offered.

I buy Joe the Dog coffee at Metro. It's the best flavour, swiss-water decaf coffee I've come across. So glad that you're local company.

I like that proceeds go towards dog shelters. I had their delicious morning coffee blend called "digging it", I am going to try "gotta go" next.
