Chocolate shop
Bernachon Chocolats is a renowned chocolate and pastry shop in Lyon, known for its gourmet pastries, refined chocolates, and high-end hot cocoa. Since the 1950s, the Bernachon family has been dedicated to creating some of the world's best chocolate. The shop treats chocolate as a gourmet food, making their own chocolate from raw cocoa beans that are roasted, ground, and blended in-house.
One of the best chocolatiers- pastry chefs in Lyon. For sure recommend when you come
Marios S — Google review
We were visiting Bernachon Chocolats on a Saturday late morning. We tried to get a table in the yet empty Tea Salon, but we were refused, because we only wanted to have a piece of cake and a coffee. Even not in a nice tone, but it might be of the language barrier, as English is limited spoken there. So we took our cakes as take away from the shop, where we faced again the language barrier and/or the not-readiness to talk in English. The quality of the desserts taken were compensating us a bit for the unfriendliness.
Tamás E — Google review
I went to the store based on Google reviews, I ordered chocolate macaron and they were delicious, I ordered strawberry tart and I didn't like it, and four desserts, I only liked two of them. As for the one I'm going to circle in the picture, I couldn't eat it, it had something strange inside and a strange taste.
Fatmah A — Google review
Very expensive place for an average quality desserts. I had high expectations and ordered 7 small bites to try different flavours with my mom. I was very disappointed since the mini cakes were overloaded with sugar and some of them I couldn’t even continue eating although very small. They definitely were not worth the money and I don’t recommend the place.
Daphne — Google review
Chocolate treats, cakes and also salty snacks (sandwiches, quiches etc). Not sure about the quality, as I haven't bought, but really the chocolate is 100€ per kilogram, which turns into 62 euros for around 8 candies. They do look good and the place is classy and smells amazing, but really you can find the exact same thing anywhere in Belgium for a quarter the price.
Madalina P — Google review
Bernachon...I heard so much about this place from my mother, I had no choice but to stop in. Walk in to gold, chocolate, and eye tantalizing pastries. One might think you are in a jewelry store, but you're actually in a chocolate shop. My limited French paired well with their limited English and I got my treats to go. I figured I should do a lot of walking this day for all the calories I was about to consume. Not a single disappointment in the box, the best mini pastries I have had in Lyon. And the chocloate was just as delicious. If you're near the Bernachon, don't pass it up. Another note, they do close for one month during the year for holiday...I believe July-August timeframe. I know because it happened to me!
Quintin C — Google review
I purchased the single origin, dark chocolate. It was grainy, and tasted like they added flour. Don’t buy this chocolate.!!!

Chocolatier Sève is a renowned market offering an array of gourmet delights such as cheeses, cured meats, and exquisite desserts. The founders have garnered numerous accolades for their commitment to traditional craftsmanship and the creation of delectable treats. With over 30 years of experience, this establishment continues to impress with its sumptuous creations available at multiple locations in Lyon.
We had to try a “Tarte À La Praline” during our short stay in Lyon and it was excellent. Very tasty crust. A must try. Service was quite slow as there was only 1 person assisting customers which was not her fault and she did her best to help everyone.
Will C — Google review
The service was excellent, but unfortunately, the chocolates were too sweet for my taste.
April W — Google review
In my quest to find the best macaron in Lyon I systematically tried a macaron at each shop in the food hall. Sève’s were by far the best, with my favourites being 1) Caramel 2) Coconut 3) Coffee. I must’ve gone back 3-4 times in one day. They are quite expensive, which meant I could only afford to try 8, but this is reflected in the quality. The staff were lovely and very accommodating of my terrible French. Merci!
Pete L — Google review
The pastries are so pretty, it feels almost guilty to eat them. Nonetheless, I ate them. I ordered the chocolate mousse one and I was thinking of getting more but it's so rich that I was very full at the end. I'd like to go back and more of the pastries. There were dozens and dozens!
Hong D — Google review
This is a nice indoor market. It has quite different atmosphere to la boqueria market in Barcelona. Both of them are great place to see and eat. But, this market has unique features like quiet and less crowded. Local fruits, cured meat , and seafood were excellent. My wife and I enjoyed cured meat and varieties of seafood, oysters, sea urchins, shrimps, and clams. They know how to sell and packages cured meat. One of stores used a vacuum sealed package for cured meat. We felt safe to carry them. All of staffs were friendly and kind. One of members even made a luxury restaurant reservation for us. I think that they know good local restaurants because they are the food suppliers.
Nahm L — Google review
Even if you are not a gourmand, I totally recommend this place if you want to have a true Lyonnais experience. The food smells and tastes excellent and the cakes and cookies are amazing.

So many choice- and none of them are wrong! Had fresh oysters- and when I say fresh I mean that they tasted as if plucked out of the ocean! Served with a friendly smile and quick service. 10 out of 10 will be going back!

Nestled in the charming Croix-Rousse district, La Boîte à Café is a delightful little spot that invites you to unwind and savor life. With its cozy outdoor terrace, it's the perfect place to sip on expertly crafted coffee or refreshing juices while watching the world pass by. The café prides itself on using locally sourced beans roasted right on-site by Mokxa, ensuring every cup is a treat for coffee lovers.
Had a flat white here, the coffee has a punch to it. I really like the taste and atmosphere of the place. Even though the place is crowded the waitresses where rapid. Coming from Barcelonas coffee scene I would only expect a bit more coffee for the price. But the prices seem reasonable for the location. I would suggest getting the extra shot in the coffee for the additional 50 cent. But that's just because I'm a big coffee drinker.
Hassan K — Google review
I highly recommend the banana bread!! That was a winner! For the coffee - unfortunately not my favorite bean profile and I find it too sharp and sourish. But I really want to compliment the barista, who was really busy but took the liberty to show me patience and kindness when I had questions. Keep smiling and the great work!! 🌟
Stephanie L — Google review
Great vibe and delicious cafe latte, chai tea and scones! We have really enjoyed including this cafe into our daily routine here in Lyon! Great service, coffee, and vibe!
Diane W — Google review
The latte here is absolutely amazing! For a good latte, the beans need to have a bit of acidity, and they nailed it. I’ve always loved coffee with bright acidity, so both the long black and the latte were fantastic. I spend about five months a year in Europe, and this is honestly the best coffee I’ve had in Europe so far. The step(or owner?)takes an oder is always so kind and welcoming with a lovely smile. I’m definitely coming back again tomorrow! ☕💛

I used to order coffee beans from them when I lived in France years ago, and I was so happy to see them still standing at the same spot! Always great coffee.
Jua L — Google review
Came across La Boite à Café while visiting Lyon for a weekend. I was in deperate need of some good coffee and luckily for me that is exactly what they gave me. I got the flat white with oat milk, which was very creamy, well foamed up and exactly how strong I like them. There were a bunch of locals in the shop chatting and working on their laptops. The ambiance was very cozy and welcoming. This is really the perfect place to feed your caffeïne addiction.
Lotte C — Google review
I enjoy their flat white and pairing it with a savoury scone - I especially like their cheddar-pepper one that has a spicy twist! There is a big terrace if you want to chat with a friend, but it is also possible to work indoors :) Note: there is a fidelity card!

What a cute little bakery! As an American living in France, I occasionally crave certain foods that, while not strictly American, are harder to come by. When I searched for cakes on google maps, this place popped up so I had to stop by. And I'm sure glad I did! Their assortment of cookies, cakes, cupcakes, and numerous other options all looked so good. Being in the mood for cake, I bought four cupcakes, and they were all perfect. The service is terrific as well. It took me a minute to decide which flavors I wanted and in the meantime, the lady at the counter was helping a customer on the phone. She kept apologizing for the delay, which she didn't need to do at all. I'll definitely be back to try more of their baked goods.
Nathan T — Google review
I was really curious to try out this bakery I’d heard so much about, especially on a day when I was feeling a little homesick. I went for the carrot cake, a classic that normally never disappoints. The cake looked nice, but once I tasted it… big letdown, dense, far too sugary, literally I could only taste the sugar with only a faint hint of cinnamon in the background. I even scraped off the frosting to better taste the base, but I just couldn’t find the flavor of carrot. It’s all the more disappointing because in France we also make a lot of carrot cakes, and they’re usually flavorful. Here, the result unfortunately gives American cakes a bad reputation, when in fact they can be delicious, even if often overly sweet, they carry real flavors.
Kimberly — Google review
The cafe has cozy vibes and a wide variety of deserts to try. The staff is very welcoming and friendly, which definitely added to the experience. A great place to sit, eat and people watch.
Smitkriti S — Google review
Got 4 different cupcakes & a mini cake for my birthday. The cupcakes were tasty but i think the price point was a bit high. However the cake (picture) was amazing!!
Erica D — Google review
The cupcakes here are mediocre and a little overpriced in my opinion. However, the shop itself is super cute and they have spectacular window displays! Be warned though, it's often very crowded!
Julia Y — Google review

Chez Grégoire Pâtisserie - Terreaux is a cozy pastry shop located in Lyon, offering a variety of gluten- and milk-free treats such as tarts, pies, cakes, and bread. The patisserie has gained popularity for its delicious pastries including lemon tart, strawberry tart, Paris-Brest, brownies, and chouquettes. Visitors have been pleasantly surprised to discover that everything at the shop is gluten-free.
I am temporarily on a diet that excludes gluten and dairy for four months. This place is a paradise for people with intolerances. Most places only offer gluten-free pastries, but everything here is also dairy-free! Even after my diet is over, I will continue visiting this wonderful place to enjoy pastry magic. 👌🏻👏🏻

Gluten free heaven - had a quiche and lemon tart. And something with onions like a quiche that was delicious. Friendly helpful staff. Loved it. Thank you
Rose D — Google review
Great find on a trip to Lyon, surprisingly doesn’t come up a lot when searching gluten free on google. So I’m going to mention it here so it’s easier to search. Gluten free, sans gluten free, coeliac, GF food Lyon. Definitely has more cake style pastries and cookies rather than classic pan un chocolate etc.
Emma O — Google review
Legitimately the best patisserie we’ve had in France! AND it’s all gluten free. My girlfriend didn’t believe it after we ate them so I had to look it up on the website to prove it.
AGoatmanNamedDesire — Google review
Delicious pastries (lemon meringue and a banana toffee). Chai latte wasn’t to my liking but of course taste is subjective 😊
Audrey — Google review
What a surprise Chez Grégoire was! I walked past, noticing that this place was new since my last visit. Lots of 5-star reviews so I figured I needed to give this place a try. Without knowing it was a gluten free shop I stopped in, used my best French, and had a couple treats after a hike up to the church. The lemon tart had a nice fresh citrus taste and a pleasant crust. The chocolate buchette was at first decadent and then it was lightened by the filling in the middle...which I believe was apple?!? An odd combination, but one that worked well and ensured that the chocolate did not overpower the palate. Interesting spot that I enjoyed and hope that others also try. Leave it to the French to make gluten free actually taste good! I would never had known the difference if I wasn't told.
Quintin C — Google review
It is quite rare to find a cafe + patisserie in France, and voilà here's one in my list now! The cake was good, but quite limited in choices, as well for the coffee. The shop is quite small, it can host at most 10 - 15 people max.
Judie J — Google review
Absolutely wonderful find in what was generally a really difficult city for anyone with intolerances or allergies to gluten and dairy. Very very easy to spend €30 on 4 delicious gateaux, a bag of chouquettes and an individual gallette de rois. All delicious and completely unidentifiable as gluten and dairy free! We walked to the river and sat in the sun with our purchases and a very nice coffee made by the lovely lady behind the counter. Will definitely be back on my next trip to Lyon.

Guillaume Flochon, located at 26 Bis Rue Masaryk in Lyon, offers an exquisite culinary experience with its delectable pastries and locally sourced ingredients. The art of selecting high-quality materials combined with creativity results in flavors that are beyond compare. This renowned patisserie is known for its finest desserts, particularly the Makadan - a must-try delicacy that will leave you craving for more.
THE best patisserie in the world. Fine and delicious desserts. A must try is the Makadan! If you’re planning on getting one for a special occasion, think of calling in advance to place your order. They are also famous for their Galette de Rois available in February, SO good. Not possible to order in advance so you have to get there early. If you’re looking for something smaller for breakfast, their “viennoseries” (croissants and Chausson aux pommes) are the best ones I’ve tried in Lyon.

(Translated by Google) One of the best pastry shops in Lyon! You can go there with your eyes closed. The flavors are spot on, and the pleasure is always there. Crispy, indulgent, crunchy, and soft, each dessert is expertly crafted to delight those with a sweet tooth. Clearly in the top 3 in Lyon, along with Bouillet and Grain de Sucre. Our favorite that day was the "chocolette," a creamy blend of milk chocolate and peanuts. The menu changes with the seasons; we'll be back to try the Christmas logs 😋. Thank you! You can feel the love of his craft in every bite. A true delight for the taste buds! But what struck me most was a human experience. One day, while I was peacefully enjoying the terrace, an individual bothered me. The owner immediately intervened with great firmness and true courage to defend me. A strong, sincere gesture that demonstrates true humanity, and that has become all too rare these days. This professional doesn't just make wonderful products; he also embodies values. His success is fully deserved. Piece of Cake is the go-to bakery for many Lyon coffee shops and restaurants. It is a delicate American dessert, featuring cheesecake, carrot cake, cookie … We love Piece of Cake because it is also the story of a successful turnaround (which we all dream about as middle-aged adults) for a woman who said "fuck this life" to live her passion. The products are of great quality because everything is made on site.
The owner of this store treats me like my sister. She is very patient in understanding my needs and gives me the right products. The coffee and cakes are both very good. I am really grateful to her.

Great bakery for a snack, breakfast or brunch. The place is not that big but, thankfully, they offer a fast take-away service. Nonetheless, the atmosphere is cozy and warm, perfect for a rainy day. They offer pastries of all kinds, the most traditional ones as well as new recipes and creation. We tried the chocolate bafka, soft and light, the caramel cheesecake, and the carrot cake which was perfect. Definitely a place to visit!

The BEST BEST BEST carrot cake and cheesecakes ! Such variety… everything is delicious. I get my lunch here very often. My favorites are the Spicy Katsu Sando and the Tuna Bun Sandwich. My favorite dessert is their carrot cake and the lemon curd cheesecake. I’ve tasted many others and they’re all super good. Special mention for the seasonal Japanese strawberry roll cake. Light and creamy ! Pumpkin Pie in the fall is something I wait for every year. The cinnamon rolls are to die for as is the banana bread. The bagels are the best in all Lyon by far. I’ve been coming to Piece of Cake for years. It’s definitely one of my favorite places in Lyon. The friendliest and kindest people who always are so welcoming with a smile. 😋

Nestled away on a quaint street in the 4th arrondissement, Partisan Boulanger is a hidden gem that truly deserves the trek to find it. This charming bakery, helmed by Bastien Malugani, offers an impressive array of breads crafted from organic flour and natural leavening. Their kougelhopf and buttery croissants are simply divine, while their selection of cakes—especially the custard tarts for crème brûlée enthusiasts—will leave you craving more.
Incredible bakery. Very popular when I went on a Sunday morning but turnaround was quick. Well worth the short wait. Baguettes and croissants were fantastic.

Omg the croissant and pain au choc were incredible, best in a long time. Service was delightful. Can't wait to go back tomorrow

Found this amazing bakery on our next to last day in the Croix-Rousse. It is a hidden treasure! You can get a warm baguette throughout the morning, and they make the best pain au raisin. Plus great croissants, and other viennoiserie and breads! When our turn came, we entered and saw such beautiful pastries, that I could not resist - ended up with a mille-feuille and a Paris-Brest. Oh My Yum - perfection! Thank you to all the bakery staff front and back of house for creating so many variety of delicious treats and breads!

Wonderful bakery in Croix Russe area. If you are lucky enough to be nearby and don’t have to walk up the hill to get here (or heck even if you DO have to walk up the hill) it is well worth a visit. One of best croissants I’ve ever had - so light and layered and crispy. Pain au chocolat also very good. A thin apple tart was crispy on the bottom and layered with super thin slivers of apples- wonderful. The almond croissant was good but a bit sweet. As this is our first morning in Lyon we will certainly be back for the rest of the week to try more and more especially since it is fortunately just around the corner. Very helpful and friendly man spoke good English and humored my French in a nice way.

Partisan Boulanger is far away the best patisserie in town. Though it is not quite near to the city centre Vieux-Lyon, products and place are very quality and the owners are very friendly. I highly recommend that you visit Partisan and enjoy the smell, texture and the taste👌🏻

By far the only top Boulanger & Patisserie in Lyon. I'm not sure which I prefer between Partisan and Du Pain & Des Ideas in Paris. The other Boulangeries in Lyon are tired and disappointing. We at at Prairial restaurant, amazing in Lyon, who sourced their bread from Partisan. Fantastic breads and jaw-dropping pastries. only open Friday-Sunday/Monday, would suggest coming here each of those mornings and a coffee from Momento around there corner. World Class!

You might wonder—what could be so special about a madeleine? … the moment you bite into a classic, traditionally made madeleine from their store—fresh, right there the minute you buy it—it’s slightly crispy in a way you won’t find anywhere else. You’ll wish that texture and taste could last forever. Today, my daughter brought me their madeleines pâtissières—three different flavors, all of them are delicious 😋

If you find yourself arriving in Lyon via TGV, consider taking a leisurely stroll to the charming old Brotteaux train station instead of hopping on the metro. Just a stone's throw away lies Boulangerie Patisserie TAFFIN, an absolute gem for pastry lovers. Here, you can indulge in delightful treats like their exquisite éclairs and my personal favorite—the Prince Maori, which beautifully combines pear and chocolate flavors.

Bugnes are a traditional delicacy originating from the Duchy of Savoy and can be found in various markets and pastry shops. These small doughnuts are made with flour, milk, eggs, and citrus, then shaped into ribbons and deep-fried to perfection. A popular spot for bugnes is A La Marquise where they are known for their light texture and generous dusting of icing sugar.

The white chocolate praline has more of a sugary taste due to the lemon present in the bugne. The dark chocolate hazelnut is very similar to a dark chocolate Ferrero Rocher. The Speculoos white chocolate stole my heart, it is truly perfect. (Original) Une boutique 100% bugnes. De la classique à la revisitée, vous y trouverez forcément votre bonheur. (Original) Je ne peux malheureusement pas partager l'avis positif des autres... Je suis allée par curiosité, en voyant un article qui parlait de la boutique. It is known for its signature brioches aux pralines and savory sandwiches. Locals and tourists flock to this spot for lunch and sweet treats. The bakery is famous for its praline rose sweets. Customers praise the fresh bread with natural flavors but note that the coffee can be expensive.
We had a praline roulade, a croissant, a latte, and an americano. The praline roulade might be too sweet for some, but I enjoyed it, and the croissant was excellent. The coffees were better than expected. There was only one lady serving, which made it challenging for her to manage everything—having someone else handle the drinks would help. Overall, I recommend the place.

Pâtisserie Chocolaterie Pralus Lyon Presqu'île is a renowned establishment known for its artisanal goods made from 15 varieties of chocolate and 4 blends. One of their specialties is the sumptuously sticky Saint-Genix brioche filled with the famous pink pralines, using almonds from Valence and Piemont hazelnuts. The famed Praline Tart comes in two size options and is elegantly packed.
Pralus needs no introduction – it’s the go-to spot for praline brioche, the famous “praluline”. We dropped by on a late Saturday afternoon before closing and found a snaking queue, but it moved quickly with about a 15-minute wait. The service was efficient and a bit curt. What I love about Pralus’ brioche is the generous ratio of praline to dough. You get that crunchy, sweet praline in every bite. The brioche also has a higher egg yolk content, giving it a richer, more indulgent flavor.
Cynthia G — Google review
The praline brioche was exceptional, and comes in two sizes. We got the smaller one at about €7, and it was good for sharing. Dropped by on a Friday at about noon and there wasn't a queue. Admittedly the other chocolates and confectionary items sold here can be rather pricey, at about €10 onwards for a small pack.
Jonathan C — Google review
Despite the price, a sometimes long line, and a quick service, it's the only one place where I will buy a Brioche à la Praline in Lyon.
Judie J — Google review
I couldn’t resist the smell of almond praline and was drawn right in. I thought I was ordering a small size, but even the smallest one was huge—sweet, moist, and absolutely delicious. I brought one back to Korea three days later, and it still tasted amazing. Truly the best!
HEEJUNG K — Google review
When I passed by the store, it smelled so delicious that I couldn’t resist going in to have a look. The breads looked very appealing, so I decided to buy a chocolate one. The lady who served me spoke excellent English. While she was packing the chocolate bread, she told me the pink sugar bread was their specialty. I hesitated a little because the price (€7.40) seemed a bit high for such a small bread, but I’m glad I bought it—it really did taste very good!

I was visiting Lyon yesterday and I wanted to try "la paluline" originating in your local and almost historical establishment. It was tasty. My point is; eventhough praluline doesn't contain coservatives, it contains glicose syrup, in addition to sugar, as it was written in the ingredients part. When pralaluine was created in 1955, I think that glicose syrup most probably was not in use so commonly by local enterprises. I would like to know why today's praluline recipe contains glicose syrup?

Diploid is a trendy and newer coffee spot in Lyon, offering a laid-back atmosphere and serving brunch staples, sweet treats, roasted coffee, and specialty drinks. The cafe features large windows that allow plenty of natural light and cozy smaller tables near the front. It's a popular hangout for freelancers and students looking for a place to work. With its eclectic clientele, airy ambiance, and funky design, Diploid stands out as a unique destination among the city's coffee shops.
Wonderful experience at Diploid. We were able to walk in without much of a wait. We got the smoked trout pancakes and sweet pancakes with some juices. Everything was amazing. The smoked trout pancakes were paired with some goat cheese cream and pink peppercorns that really balanced the flavor so well. The sweet pancakes had a really fresh whipped cream that wasn't overly sweet like some places can be. Service was friendly and efficient. We were very happy with our meal and would recommend for anyone looking for fresh brunch options.

Came here for breakfast on Sunday and the place was already buzzing at 9:30. Love the vibe—lively but still comfortable. I got the golden latte and Turkish eggs, both were 👌. This was my second time here and it couldn’t have made a better choice.

We had a lovely brunch at Slake Terreaux! The menu offers a great variety of brunch options — everything we ordered was tasty, fresh, and beautifully presented. You can really tell that quality ingredients are a priority here. Portions are on the smaller side for the price, but the flavors definitely make up for it. It’s also worth noting that all menu items were available when we visited — a pleasant surprise since that’s not always the case at busy brunch spots. Finding the place was a bit tricky, as the advertised name isn’t clearly visible at the entrance or on the street, but once inside, the atmosphere and service made it well worth the effort.

A French café known for its fresh and delicious offerings in a very beautiful location. They serve various egg dishes, coffee, and fresh juices. I highly recommend it, but the portion size is quite small. The staff was very polite and welcoming

This nice little restaurant was near the hotel where I was staying in Lyon so it became my go to place for having breakfast. It serves both sweet and savoury dishes: I had the granola and the pancakes, they were both very good. Prices are in line with those of other similar restaurants.
Francesco X — Google review
The turkish eggs are just perfect. I cannot understand just say that they should serve 2 eggs in the portions, to be fine with the price. Otherwise is tasty and vibe.

We did not want the hotel breakfast so we decided to walk out of the hotel and see a place where we can eat. Found this a block away - am so glad we found this. We had pancakes that was so fluffy! We had the sweet and savory one. Great way to start the day. We went back the next day and had muffins - with egg and bacon. Nice location, cute and cozy place and friendly and helpful staff. I highly recommend this place.

The quality of the cakes was fine, but they should improve their product QC and customer service policy. Last two weeks I found a long hair in their product, sent them a mail with photos but never got any response from them (except the plain auto-reply mail saying that they'll be back to work again the next day). Last Saturday, I went to the shop buying some cakes and told the seller what I found. The seller said that she'd tell the person who was responsible for this matter. Before leaving, she offered me one macaron coated with chocolate as an exchange for the forgiveness, to me it seemed like those macarons were prepared for every customer, for a new product trying out or so... In any case, the way they confronted the problem makes me hesitate to go back there again.

Beautiful little cake & pastry shop. I had a vanilla and raspberry tart. 5.40€ for a very delicious little dessert. There are chocolates, caramel spreads, macarons as well. Also big cakes and pies are available for taking home. No place to sit but there are public benches outside.

It is really good sweet. The cake is expensive. I spend 5€ for little cake but it is so good. It is not a bar. The shop does not have a table to sit. It is just a shop to sell.

I went to chocolate shop one, But I can’t find on google map, so I will review here. I asked the seller if the box of 24 pieces of chocolate bonbon has all mixed flavors because I want to try one of each. The seller she said yes, but now I just know that I don’t have one each, some got two and it miss a lot of other flavors. I tried one with praline maison, it smells of old almond, c’est dommage.

Boulangerie Chez Jules St Paul is a must-visit spot for an authentic French experience. Located conveniently near the Basilique Notre Dame, it offers a variety of delicious pastries and sandwiches. The cafe au lait is highly recommended, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Despite some mixed reviews on the croissants, the overall consensus is that this bakery provides a delightful taste of France with its delectable treats and warm ambiance.
Terrific lunch spot This is a great cafe bakery with a large range of sweet and savoury items. My husband and I shared a delicious lunch of quiche and salad followed by a couple of sweet pastries for less than EUR 20. The service is friendly and the prices are very reasonable!

We visited a lovely sweet shop in Lyon 🇫🇷 with beautifully decorated, fine-detailed desserts 🍰. The interior was stunning ✨ and the service from the kind waitress was truly professional 👩🏻‍🍳. The royal chocolate treat was delicious 🍫, but the raspberry tart didn’t meet our expectations 🍓. For the price (same as a cocktail 🍸), we expected more. Still worth a visit, just choose carefully!

Nice cafe/bakery with a good selection of sweet and savory pastries including bread and cakes. The service was efficient and they didn’t ignore me because I don’t speak English they have tried to understand as much as possible. I had cappuccino and some quiche and for takeaway the famous praline brioche. The place is quite spacious and with indoor and outdoor space, classic outdoor seating at the street with nice views. Attaching photos from my experience. Enjoy

Very good price/quality and nice (little) terrace. You have a combo menu (hot beverage, 2 pastries (or salty) and an orange juice for 7,8€ if I’m not mistaken (also a cheaper version for just a hot beverage and 1 pastry)

This trendy pastry shop in Lyon offers delicious pastries, breads, and colorful cakes made without gluten. The chocolate counter is a favorite for sinful treats such as chocolates and cupcakes. All of the baked goods are gluten free, so those with dietary restrictions can enjoy them too. The bakery is open on weekday mornings and Saturdays from 8am to 1pm; it's worth the drive out to try their mechanicals, sweets, and sandwiches!
My absolute favorite gluten free bakery in France so far. The cakes and desserts are especially tasty , well balanced in sugar and reasonably priced unlike other GF bakeries. Please stay the best 💗

In one word, amazing!!! We walked for 25 minutes to get to this Gluten free café and it was well worth the pilgrimage. We had lunch there. My partner enjoyed her beautiful vegetable sandwich with cheese and I had a delicious quiche. The pastries were exquisite. If you are gluten free this is a must see, must taste destination :)

Lovely gluten free bakery in Lyon, lots options for fresh pastries, cookies, eclairs, sandwiches and bread. Overall, everything was tasty. If I’m being picky the pastries weren’t flakey like a real croissant would be, more of a cake texture. Still yum though. 100% gluten free.

Excellent selection and all gluten free. Sampled two of the tarts which were divine - strawberry and a pistachio tart. Very affordable. We bought 4 treats for 15 euro. Friendly and helpful staff.
Kdisco78 — Google review
All of their products are gluten free, and their pastries look wonderful. We bought a small selection, and while the éclair was very good (though almost a bit too dark), the clafoutis cerise griotte was unfortunately moldy so we had to throw it away. For the fact that it cost 3.50€ that's kinda sad. Haven't tried the pain au chocolate yet, looks very buttery but also extremely small (why are gluten free baked goods always so small???)

What a fantastic place, very nicely displayed and friendly staff. We got a handemade baguette, pain au maîs, a tarte au citron, two little muffins and a white chocolate bread for a total of 12(!) Boulangerie Saint Paul in Lyon comes highly recommended for its delectable chestnut bread, a seasonal treat that's a must-try. This charming bakery in Vieux Lyon is known for its heavenly croissants and impeccable baked goods. Despite the early Sunday morning rush, the cheerful staff and lovely outdoor seating make it a delightful spot to savor pastries and people-watch.

The apple tart here is out of this world. Also yummy sandwiches on excellent bread for a picnic hike. My favorite Boulangerie in the old district on our 4 day stay in Lyon.
Ariel L — Google review
This boulangerie offers an abundance of pastries - savory and sweet. The croissant is good and goes well with coffee, as well as the noisette (hazelnut) cookie; and the quiche Loraine is nice too. Thus, I think that the price-quality is fair. The staff is kind and speaks English, and the atmosphere is pleasant (especially if you sit outside), although it gives the vibes of a high-volume bakery. However, I’m pretty sure my cappuccino was a latte and made with a regular milk instead of oat milk…
Katerina D — Google review
Boulangerie Saint Paul does great croissants, especially given that my visit was later in the day. Refusing to be distracted, it was all I ordered, and even at 6 PM, their croissants maintain a delightful flakiness, paired with a rich, buttery taste that sets them apart. This level of quality in the evening hours is a true testament to their superior baking skills. A must-visit for croissant enthusiasts seeking a consistently excellent pastry experience.

Boulangerie Saint Paul is a bakery that truly takes things to the next level. The croissants and pain au chocolat are simply the best pastries I have ever had Parisian bakeries could certainly take a few notes from this gem. The quality of the pastries is outstanding, with a buttery richness that is positively indulgent. Situated in the charming Croix-Rousse district, this bakery is highly popular among locals. It attracts long queues of customers eager to indulge in its freshly baked goods. The main draw here is the bread, which is a must-have for a delightful picnic on a sunny day. Boulangerie les Artistes stands out for its delectable croissants and pain au chocolat, characterized by their flaky and buttery texture.
Best bread we had in France. It is literally art. Their le grenier is particularly awesome.

Very mid experience on a Saturday. The flan was bad: the base pastry was undercooked and the flan had a strong sulphur smell. They gave me a mushroom breakfast bun thinking it was a ham bun because there was some chunk of ham stuck to the side of it. It was underseasoned and meh. They seemed a bit overwhelmed by their success and it showed in the consistency of the goods.

We discovered this charming brunch spot while walking by and were drawn in by its cozy look and diverse, creative menu 🌞. The hazelnut round pastry/cake pictured is the best cake I had in my five days in Lyon (I had over 20!) it was so good and the inside was incredible combination of cake/chocolate/caramel. If I only had to a week to live, I would return to this bakery and die and happy woman. Better than the majority of bakeries in Paris I have tried (over 50). What’s available changes all the time, so if you see something you fancy, buy it!

I stayed in Lyon for two days and came here often. I tried three items: a pain au chocolat, a pistachio pastry, and a savory croissant sandwich. Everything I tasted was fresh, high-quality, and delicious. The location is central, and the prices are reasonable. The only small downside is that after getting your croissant there isn’t a place to sit or stand to eat.
Sedef G — Google review
Maison Terrasson in Lyon is well-known for its exceptional baked goods and pastries. A standout item is the Chocolate Folie, a rich chocolate treat priced at 4.5 euros. Another highlight is the Le Parisien ham baguette, featuring generous chunks of cold butter, a delightful crusty exterior, and chewy dough. Though I did not try the burger during the visit, the patties look amazingly thick and would love to revisit and give it a shot too. The bakery's popularity means there are often long lines, so be prepared to wait before enjoying these delicious offerings.
Ribeye — Google review
Maison Terrasson was named the best bakery in M6’s La Meilleure Boulangerie de France, so naturally, we had to stop by. Its location near our hotel made it an easy and frequent choice, whether for breakfast or a sweet treat during the day. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we tried. I had flan for the first time and really liked it. The folie chocolat, feuilleté au praliné, and cookies were among my favorites. I still find myself thinking about all the pastries I didn’t get to try. If we had stayed a few more days in Lyon, I’m sure we would’ve kept coming back every morning.
Asli A — Google review
Lots of to choose from, staff spoke English but also was fine with our basic French. The two policemen next to us in the queue recommended the flan which is apparently best in Lyon! It seems to be popular with the locals as there’s a steady line of patrons early on a Saturday morning.
James W — Google review
I was impressed by the amount of variety that they had and the deliciousness of every product that I tried. The croissant and cookies would have to be my favorite, however everything else was quite good and worth trying. The service was quite kind and they spoke English and the atmosphere is of a lovely French bakery. Overall, I would strongly recommend you give it a try if you are in the area!

This pastry shop, Clement Mariller, is a must visit for anyone in the city. The desserts here are absolutely delicious and unique. They're covered in a generous topping of fresh fruits, chocolate covered cacahuets and ganache. These little gems are a wonderful gift for your eyes as well as your taste buds.
It is a take-away desserts shop. The staff was friendly and helpful. All the desserts looks really beautiful and delicious. I bought 3 different desserts to eat them in the park next to the shop, it was great to enjoy delicious desserts in a beautiful day. The price was great for the price and quantity. My favorite was La Franklln, cause it is mixed Pistache, Framboise and Vanille.

If you love choux pastry, you definitely have to come here! I’ve never seen such a beautiful display of different kinds as I did in this shop. I stopped here as part of a tour and the shop person there was happy to tell us about all of them.

A fantastic place. This is the kind of things you get as dessert in 3-star michelin restaurants. Even the cookies are some of the best cookies I’ve ever eaten. I go to this place all the time, and I’m sad when they close for holidays

A thousand times five stars! My wife and I loved this place and came back four days in a row during our five day visit to Lyon. We tried nearly all of the desserts and loved every one. What was best? Maybe the Paris Brest Chou? Or maybe the La Parks? Each was like an orchestra in my mouth.
Ric — Google review
The boutique is welcoming with the chef serving us directly. There were a variety of signature long-tartelettes to choose from in the boutique. Once home, we were delighted with these long-tartelettes and would say they are definitely worth a planned trip on your itinerary if visiting Lyon. Not only were they sublime in the combination of flavors and textures presented, but an artful, light and delicate dessert. They keep and travel well. The packaging was robust, portable, and stackable. Mariller Les Saveurs is on my list of "bonnes addresses".

Trop Chou is a delightful little pastry shop that has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike in Lyon. Nestled along Quai St Antoine, this charming spot specializes in choux buns, offering an array of both sweet and savory flavors that are simply irresistible. During my visit, I couldn't resist sampling three delectable varieties: the exotic mangue-passion, the rich caramel au beurre salé, and the classic chocolat noir. Each bite was a heavenly experience!
The choux are divine. Must go if you are in Lyon.

Bettant's patisserie is a Lyon institution, known for its excellent sweets. The shop has two prices: one for take-out, and another for sitting in the salon/terrace. The customer is never right, but the prices are steep. The cakes are delicious, but too sweet for some tastes.
I’m In love with this place! 🥰 Highly recommended:) loved the atmosphere and loved the outdoors seating so relaxing under the trees and on the street.. ( closed street surrounded with shops ) You can safely enjoy eating with your kids. Delicioussss 😍😍 The raspberry cake slice ( i forgot its name) Perfectly baked .. is on another level! A must try:)

Quiet place with multiple viennoiseries choices and warm/cold beverage ☕. Each viennoiseries is unique and delicious. This "Salon de Thé" is my fav place to be! The InterContinental Lyon - Hotel Dieu is a luxurious and contemporary hotel located in the heart of Lyon's 2nd arrondissement. With stunning views of the river and the 3rd arrondissement, this elegant hotel offers a sanctuary for those seeking luxury while being close to Lyon's main attractions. The hotel is housed in an 18th-century building and features spacious, bright rooms and suites with modern design elements.
Very nice looking building with lots of history. The whole property has many other retails. It is central located, close to all major spots. The room is clean, bathroom is big enough. Bed is form. The only two small area are 1) no lounge; 2) duplex suit is little narrow, it would be nice to have the space for a chair or two at the bedroom level.
Dana K — Google review
I would not stay at this hotel again. The building is beautiful and the location is the best in the city. The staff are all very friendly and none of this can be faulted. The experience of the stay is far below the standard of what is acceptable, however, especially for what should be a premium experience. In staying here for 5 nights, on the first night I was locked in the gym at midnight and unable to gain access back to the hotel due to security staff locking the gates. This was followed subsequently by an extremely long fire evacuation the following day with deafening fire alarms in the room placed directly next to the work desk. On the final night, they held a private function at the restaurant blasting music until midnight on a Tuesday, directly below my room. If you do not pay extra for a river view, you will be at the mercy of these events in courtyard facing rooms. When I voiced this concern to the front desk, their response was simply “oh, your room is above the restaurant, sorry about that”. The bed also had an enormous, hard ridge in the middle where two single beds had been pushed together, which was very uncomfortable. This hotel has great potential but was a big let down. There’s likely a lottery of which room you get and what’s happening at the hotel when you stay, but for a high end hotel at a premium price, it’s disappointing. Beautiful building on the outside, but I wouldn’t stay here again.
Dave L — Google review
Wow, wow, wow. This hotel is amazing. Not only the incredible building but the staff are awesome! They are all so friendly and make you feel very welcome. Le Dome bar is one of the greatest anywhere in the world. Nothing can compare! The rooms are gorgeous and very large. Breakfast is first class. We will return when we comeback to Lyon.
Julian T — Google review
We had a wonderful stay. The room was fantastic and the service impeccable! The receptionists were very helpful and welcoming. They made us feel as their guests and not as simple clients. The proximity of the hotel to the city centre was also another advantage. We could go to all our destinations on foot. Highly recommend hotel!!!
Angeliki V — Google review
I've stayed here a few times, and it's a great place. The location offers fantastic views of the river, is ideal for a walk or run, and is close to the majority of Lyon's greatest restaurants. The room service was excellent, and the rooms are immaculate. If you have to work, WiFi is excellent. I will most certainly return here.
Rajasekhar N — Google review
An exceptional stay in the heart of Lyon! I booked a courtyard view and loved the blend of elegance and tranquility. From here, you can easily walk to Vieux Lyon, the riverside, and the city’s vibrant markets — the location is truly unbeatable. Service was warm and professional, and even the in-room dining exceeded expectations. As someone who stays at InterContinentals worldwide, this property is among my favorites: refined accommodations, excellent food, and the perfect base to experience the best of Lyon. Traveler Tip: Courtyard rooms are peaceful and quiet, but you’re only steps away from all the action of Lyon’s historic center.
Michelle S — Google review
We had a nice view of the river. The carpet in some of the other rooms had a certain smell. Although it could be cleaning products, it was still a strong scent. The staff were all very polite and friendly. Overall, I’m quite pleased with our stay here.

I finally had a chance to go over our trip review. This has been on my mind for a while—finally got to it Book via Trip.com Booking no. 1658102861379793 30 - 31 July The check-in went smoothly until the receptionist told us that we had requested a non-AC room (with the AC to be disconnected during our stay), supposedly based on a note from Trip.com. I told the receptionist that I definitely did not make such a request—especially not in the middle of summer—and asked to see the note from Trip.com. They couldn’t show me the note and instead claimed that, since I was now denying the request, the note had already been removed. We were initially checked into a room with a non-functional AC, and the hotel assured us that a technician would be sent to reboot the AC. Despite several follow-up calls, no one arrived. Eventually, we were moved to another room where the AC was already functioning. However, we had to move our luggage ourselves, as no assistance was offered by the hotel staff. The whole situation felt suspicious. It seemed like the receptionist was trying their luck by placing us in a non-AC room. What’s even more ironic is that the new room had a welcome note addressed to me, while the non-AC room was completely bare, with no such note. Our experience during this stay with IHG was quite disappointing. In fact, even the porter expressed concern about the non-functioning AC when delivering our luggage, which highlighted the lack of proactive attention from the hotel staff. The hotel staff came across as insincere and pretentious.

Pâtisserie Chocolaterie Pralus Lyon Saint-Jean is a renowned establishment in Lyon, known for its delectable chocolate and pastries. Visitors rave about the petite praluline, a must-try that offers a unique and delightful experience. The brioche au praline stands out as a favorite among patrons for its perfect blend of taste, texture, and consistency. Customers also praise the friendly staff and recommend trying the Pralus Barre Infernale.
We found this place walking in the Old Town Area of Lyon. There was a line to get in so we know we found the right place to buy the famous brioche in Lyon. We purchased on Praline and one Chocolate to bring back with us to Prague. The line moved quickly and once inside the service was very friendly and efficient. They wrap up the brioche in a nice packaging. This is outstanding and a must visit when in Lyon. We loved our visit and so glad we came across this gem!!!
Michael M — Google review
It was a cold wet day when we arrived in Lyon but this shop was an oasis of warmth. I should have known that from the scent of buttery goodness emanating from the vent at the store front where I huddled to get out of the rain. I returned the following morning to buy my first Praluline. It didn't last long. The biggest one split between two was not enough for these two gluttons. If those three ancient wise men were truly wise they'd have delivered Praluline instead of frankincense or myrrh. Though I was likely to be their first sale of the morning, and though my French language skills always warrant a sheepish apology, the service was fine. They should have insisted that I buy two, however, because one is never enough. I am grateful for the experience.

"Grains de Sucres" is a charming patisserie located at 45 Rue de Trion, Lyon. The place offers an ever-changing variety of textures and flavors that serve as a great source of inspiration. Visitors have raved about the delicious desserts and friendly service provided by the owner or staff. The display of pastries is truly amazing, with items like Pan au chocolat and croissant aux amandes receiving high praise.
Entering Grains du Sucre feels like entering a jewellery. All the sweets are incredibly beautiful and very well presented. It was really hard for me to choose but then I landed on creamy cake that I suspect is quite typical in Lyon. While it looked soft I was not ready for the incredible fluffiness of the cream, which was like a cloud. I was also not ready for the cap of fondant on too. I wonder if the name of the place (sugar grains) somehow captures a characteristic of the chef as my pastry did have fairly recognizable the texture of grains du Sucre. The box for takeaway was beautiful. It would make for a gorgeous gift. The person who served me was incredibly gentle and prepared me my food with a special dignity. A special experience.

My mom and I just accidentally popped in here. We had taken the funicular up not knowing what was at this end. So glad we did! We got a desert and water. I cannot remember the name of what I got, but it was delicious and the lady that waited on us was very friendly. She may have been the owner, I am not sure, but she was lovely. The eclairs were beautiful to the eyes and tasted good but the drinks from Loutsa did not impress (maybe it's just personal preference). For the price, they could offer better or right eating and drinking utensils like glass, mug, plate and fork for customers to enjoy the eclairs and drinks though it's a nice place to take a break after walking around this big shopping mall.

We saw many comments saying it’s a must-try, so since we were already in Lyon, we don’t want to leave without giving it a shot. We tried the salted caramel and the strawberry ones. The strawberry flavor was pretty average — nothing too impressive. The caramel one, on the other hand, felt like eating a rich, caramel-heavy Snickers. It might be overwhelming for those who aren’t fans of intense caramel flavors.

Bakery
Le Fournil de l'Artisan is a must-visit bakery offering heavenly pastries and bread. Their pain au raisin is particularly outstanding, and they also feature praline-themed viennoiseries, such as roule au pralines and brioche aux pralines. Additionally, the bakery boasts reasonably priced tarts, with the tartelette chocolat-banane being a favorite among visitors.
Finally, after trying a few different boulangerie around the train station found one I liked. Their goods all look to be high quality and they have a very wide selection of them. Bonus is there's a coffee and croissant special. A bit late of a discovery but better late than never!

We went there for breakfast. I was looking for a good croissant and some other pastries. The quality was good but not the best I had. Even though they have sitting area, they don’t have a restroom. The coffee is from those automatic machines and served in paper cups.

They have mini croissants for a very reasonable price of just 0.6! However, the taste is not very good.

Very busy during the lunch hour and I can see why. While this isn't the best I've had in Lyon, it does have tremendous value. The quality offerings come at an affordable price. A menu is only €6,90 I opted for pizza during my visit and the next I will try one of the many sandwiches.

We loved this place so much that we visited 3 times (one day 2 times) during our 3 day visit to Lyon. Wow! What amazing flavor. We had the Lemon Pavlova and the taste was out of this world. The service was outstanding. Both times the staff working were extremely friendly and helpful. Wide variety of different flavors. You can also order big packages of them to go. This is a MUST Visit when in Lyon. Your taste buds will love you for the visit. Simply Outstanding!!!

The bakery also offers savory options like sandwiches and quiches, making it a great stop for breakfast or a midday snack.
I came here twice in four days and got a bunch of different pastries and baguettes. Everything that I got here was truly fantastic. The guy behind the counter, Tom, was incredibly friendly and helpful - it felt like I was getting an expert consultation on Lyonnaise patisserie! I will absolutely visit again when I’m back in Lyon. The almond croissant was the best I’d had in Lyon and the New York Roll was excellent. I’d recommend them in particular but everything was excellent

The staff was really friendly and knowledgeable. He tried to find out what we liked and how sweet we want in the pastries. Very very generous samples as well. We got brioche (with some red sweet stuffing I can’t remember the name), almond croissant, pain aux raisins and another one with the red stuffing and some small ones he said goes well with coffee. Can’t recommend enough. They really know how to make pastries well. The church we were visiting is right around the corner of the bakery. Merci

Mauvais pain au chocolat. Manque de beurre, de texture, de goût. Quelle déception! I went there based on good reviews. Some even said they had the best pain au chocolat ever. What???? It was so tasteless that I couldn't even finish it. I guess they're foreigners and/or have extremely low expectations. Anyway do yourself a favor and go somewhere else for viennoiseries. (Translated by Google) SHOP: The store is very nice, with a lot of products that are all more desirable than the others. SERVICE: The service & welcome are top notch, smiling, friendly staff. It's good to live in the store & it makes you smile. PRODUCTS: I wanted to try the Bacon Smash Burger (in photo) and the Beef Pita (also in photo). Without a doubt it’s homemade. BURGER: The contents are a steak of no real interest, a slice of tomato & two tons of burger sauce (homemade?), with a slice of bacon & a piece of cheese. The bread is probably homemade brioche, airy and quite pleasant both to the eye and to the taste. Downside: the only taste of the Burger comes down to its sauce which will end up taking over “everything” else. Suddenly we find ourselves eating brioche bread with burger sauce, it becomes tedious and not very enjoyable. PITA: The pita is on the other hand a good surprise, you can find the different tastes announced on the store label, the meat is good, the cheese too, you can smell the spicy sauce, the bread is pleasant, in short it's good best. Downside: I had a piece of plastic in the pita? (see photo). That didn't stop me from eating it. PRICE: The prices are quite reasonable for the Zone & Lyon, especially as the products are fresh and of rather high quality. the paninis are INCREDIBLE!

Best bread, best desserts, best sandwiches all the way around among the boulangeries my wife and I have frequented since arriving in Lyon. Their viennois with bits of chocolate and candied orange is amazing; their chocolate royal and fruit tarts are exquisite; and their sandwiches are fresh and have some hard to find varieties, like pastrami. Their pain suisse is the best anywhere. The only thing I wish they served that they don't is the délice framboise that I used to be able to get up at Copain d'Antan on Croisse-Rousse. But you can't go wrong with anything here.

The best sourdough in Lyon! If you like hearty sourdough or long-fermented breads this place is great, if you have a gluten sensitivity, may not be the best for you although they do bake a gluten free option. I’m a probiotic and gluten lover, they use ancient grains (not the processed wheat) and fermentation takes place over a series of days. That’s the way bread should be 🙏 They also have a small épicerie of locally sourced permaculture fruits and veggies. The staff is friendly and helpful and the location is convenient on foot (not by car). As someone who is gluten free, this was amazing to find. The chestnut gf bread is just glorious with actual chestnut in there. This place allows me to participate in the French culture of cheese and bread ;)

(Translated by Google) Best breads in Lyon in all modesty. My ONLY bakery. Slowly fermented breads such as bread with walnuts, candied fruits, hazelnut figs and olives allowed me to reconnect with the pleasure of eating bread with a very low gluten content. Intolerant to gluten, I enjoy it without any consequences, I can also enjoy bread with kamut or chestnut flour. A delight. Many thanks for your gluten-free cookies.

(Translated by Google) I love good bread and am willing to pay the right price for good quality. The bread purchased today was not of the day despite my request to the seller. The crust was moist and the crumb a little dry. I'm not against buying day-old bread, but at the right price and knowing the facts...
