Cool spot for any cocktail you feel like! Food tour person suggested this when we asked about a good cocktail spot. Good, unique G&T selection. No food but nice inside and outside area in a tucked away part of a busy street. Would definitely go back.

This is my favourite cocktail bar in all of Lyon. And they do excellent wine and other drinks too. The service is super professional but friendly also. And I can't think of a better location. Great view of the whole square and all the vibrant life going on around.

Cozy and above all a huge source of wine local and around the EU. Bookings are a must if u don't want to be disappointed. Menu. Is by QR code but strangely cannot be ordered. Bill can be .. All indoor dining as far as determined. Service was great . Limited English... menu choice is not expansive in the groups i.e. pizza, pasta, salads etc .. but the food is delightful. Same for the beer menu ... only 3 items. Moderately priced. Highly recommended

Wow! On a Monday night we had some delicious cocktails in this moody but peaceful bar. Excellent service and creative, left of centre cocktail concoctions that will satisfy every tastebud on your tongue!

The cocktails are very average in taste. The ambiance and service are nice. I wouldn’t go back specifically for cocktails, but it could be a stylish choice to meet a friend.

Visited three times in two days because it was that good. I am an (American) cocktail aficionado and serious about this art. It is very hard to find real classic cocktails in Europe. The bartenders knew every off-menu old-school drink my wife and I threw at them - a Clover Club, a Sazerac, an Old Pal, on and on - and delivered on every one. Lyon is lovely, but it is worth going to Lyon just for this bar alone. I’ll be back.

Overall: 7.5/10 average 10€ for a drink Drinks: 6.5/10 - the cocktails are so so sweet! even the sour ones aren’t as sour as sweet! I couldn’t taste but sugar in both of my cocktails. However the alcohol used is high quality ones. - The size of the drinks is definitely smaller than it should be, specially with the huge piece of glass, the cocktail would be around 20ml! - There is no food at all, be careful. Delicious cocktails! They are really good. It was my first time here but my friends are frequent guests and they are never disappointed. There is a slight performance with some cocktails. They serve water too. There is a traditional cocktail that won once a world class prize. There is a light at tables that you use to call a waitress.

Cockatail / Jazz rooftop bar hidden in beautiful Hotel Dieu in Bellecour. When you get there, go inside Hotel Dieu, look for the Intercontinental Hotel and then just across is the entrance of L’Officine. Once a month on Fridays they host a “Jazz Apero” so we came to enjoy! Dimmed lights and an exciting cocktail menu! We tried the “Peach Please”, “Montenegroni” (with a beautiful logo stamped ice cube) and finally a Royal Monkey (this one won!). Prices were around 15€. The jazz was beautiful! And we went out to enjoy the terrace for a while (they have warm covers so you don’t freeze in the cold season). The only remarks I would make is that we wanted to tried a Mezcal cocktail in the menu, but there was no mezcal that night. The appetizers menu didn’t look crazy so we ended up not ordering. And one of our glasses had the border quite chipped, something that in this kind of place you would not expect. It finally a fancy place to enjoy a night out with friends or couple.

Went here for after dinner cocktails. It’s a really cool setting but we waited for 30 minutes to place our order. 2/3 drinks we tried to order were out of stock. Still waiting to get the drinks 15 minutes later. It’s a Tuesday night at 10:45pm and not crowded.

On holidays in Lyon, I tried this bar as it was good rating. Worth it, definitely. Cocktails are really tasty, not full of sugar as it can be in other places. There is a spirit in this bar, interior design is great, and the owner spent time explaining about cinema and Lyon, which I wasn’t aware of. This is the type of bar I’m looking for, nice cocktails and a spirit. Nice job done by the owner, I hope to be back soon in France and Lyon to go there once more.

La Grisbi may look like an underdog, but it’s a understated powerhouse of flavour. Not nearly enough people are singing the praises of this low-key gem. With its moody New York hip-hop vibe, a spirit selection curated with precision, and cocktails that are effortlessly sophisticated, it delivers on every level. Simplicity is at the core of Kevin tipple making ethos. And he is an epic host. A must-visit for any cocktail enthusiast.

Been twice with friends, both times the bar was near empty, and both times we were told it was suddenly "closed for a private party" as soon as we asked for some drinks. This bar is not surviving on sales revenues! Since discovered L'Antiquaire nearby which is MUCH better.

Cigale is a great spot for inventive cocktails in Vieux Lyon. The house cocktails are winners, and they have an extensive collection of gins that can be used for G&Ts or whatever other drink you might want. They have other spirits, too, and a short but tasty menu of bar snacks. Great service with a nice mix of indoor and outdoor seating that's just off of the main thoroughfare.

This bar was easily our favorite place in Lyon during our few nights there. The bartenders were extremely knowledgeable and kind. They have more than 100 bottles of gin (as well as other liquors) and when we mentioned that Bluecoat was local to us they immediately knew that it was based in Philadelphia and was the first American dry gin- we were impressed! They seemed to have a huge repertoire of knowledge about each bottle they have and it was a treat to get so much information about each cocktail they served us. They can easily craft you a personal cocktail by asking a few questions and the drinks were beautifully made with interesting bitters, botanicals, and other unique ingredients. We went back for a second night because we were so impressed, and we wish this was our local bar!

Workers are very knowledgeable and can provide gin suggestions based on preferences. Love the extensive list of gins to try and always a great experience! Definitely recommend stopping in.

A place for everyone to come and get an fun and delicious drink! As a tourist, I came to Lyon for a weekend trip and arrived late Friday night. We fell upon this place as it was nearby our hotel. From the outside the bar looked a bit dull, but as soon as we entered, the atmosphere was chill and relaxing and we felt very comfortable. For the first round of drinks we ordered some kinds of berry/vodka and lemon/meringue drinks. The first one wasn't really speciel, but the latter was a fun mixture of different kind of citruses and was served like a mini lemon pie. For the second round, we got chocolate/rum drink which was really special and delicious, and a 'neu' mojito with jägermeister which added a more german flavour to the classic mojito. The bar interieur had a German theme with many cuckoo clocks and the DJ started off with some house music, but later got more lazy with the mixing and the songs kept going on. 8/10

They seemed very nice, but then in the end they took 15 minutes to bring the beers (3 bartenders, not so many customers) and mixed the order with another couple's (we said smth after tasting the beers and were reassured it's correct, but when we payed it got clear as there was additional food that we refused at the table and was got by another table). Sooo... we wouldn't be back 😔 also, huge bar but then there isn't much space for confortable seating

We tried Casa Jaguar for Peruvian food in Lyon and had a mixed experience. The cocktails were very good — creative, well-balanced, and enjoyable. The fried eggplant and glazed ribs were underseasoned, and the ribs were a bit tough (some pieces were burnt and not edible). The fried octopus was decent, and the lemony, garlicky sauces were a nice addition. Service was not ideal; we weren’t given a food menu at first and the restaurant seemed understaffed, which made the experience less smooth. Overall, there were some highlights, but also several aspects that made the meal less enjoyable.

Atmosphere is very nice, creative modern latin decoration and music. Staff very friendly and attentive. Food of good quality, mexican latin fusion. Wine selection is very mediocre for French standard, the direction is good (grape selection) but the cheapest wine of the winery is sold here, need to step up here one step. Mens bathroom defected, didn’t close correctly. Details, but easily corrected. Potential is there.

No child friendly at all, even just for an orange juice they gave a lecture why they don't have it and they won't accommodate. Food tastes good, but very small and not filling. This makes it expensive when you have to order sides as extra. Good environment and nice cocktails.

This trendy spot has the quality food and cocktails to make it a staple in Lyon. I took several of my French colleagues to dinner and everyone enjoyed themselves. We shared the dishes allowing us to try much of the menu, including dessert. Chic cocktail bar in the back is a perfect escape from a long day at work or intimate rendezvous. I will return soon!

Cozy and nice place. The food is good and special. Not your typical Italian place but definitely worth a try if you’re around. Every dish is well thought. I would definitely go back.

Appetizer platter was the peak and the highlight. It had all kinds of nice tasty bits (but pricy at 43 Euros!). The main dishes were in hearty portion. So I recommend you take the Piccolini option if you want to try the desert afterward. The main dish differed from the traditional Italian taste. Lasagna with rose-style sauce tasted a bit foreign, and carbonara was much thicker than I would have liked. Risotto nero (Nemo) and the other pasta (cacio e pepe) were decent. But all four main dishes that we ordered had the impression that there were some time gap from cooking to the table, during which the pasta and risotto absorbed the moisture and thickened the sauces. After handling the large portion with thick sauces, we could not try the deserts. My recommendation would be to try Grande planche d’antipasti italienne (appetizer platter) in combination with nice cocktails, then go directly to the deserts.

Everything was very delicious. My mouth had festivities with the tastes. The waiter was very nice as well. I can't forget about the risotto. Can't wait to come back!

This was really one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been even comparing to the ones when I was in Italy haha I recommend the Limoncello Spritz (not the best presentation but still delicious combination) and the risoto

We have been to Mimo a Sunday afternoon (glad it is open on Sundays) to have pasta and we were not disappointed. They had recently changed the menu so there were many things to discover. The service was quick, the servers were really nice and attentive and the food was good. Was a little disappointed with out entrée (beignets de légumes), but were quite impressed with our main courses. The dessert was great. Definitely coming back to try new stuff.

One of the best bars I’ve ever been to. The drinks are so well thought out, featuring amazing flavors and exceptional presentation. Service is quick and friendly, leather chairs on the sidewalk are the perfect place to hangout for the evening in old town Lyon. Went back to back nights during our stay at college hotel and will be back any night that I am in Lyon!

We actually asked for cocktails that were not on the menu and the bartender kindly made them for us and they were very tasty. He did shortchange me hence I didn't leave a tip. Good place, nice atmosphere.

Although located in a sketchy neighborhood, La Baignoire has a legit speak-easy facade and interior. Taste aside, the cocktails I had were all interesting, and I particularly liked Eau de tomate no.1. The experience could have justified for four stars. I took one off for three reasons: 1. The stench in the toilet could have been improved; 2. The bartenders could have been more engaging. I visited on a Sunday night. The place was half full, yet the bar tenders seemed almost overwhelmed by the workload; 3. Payment options. They do NOT accept American Express, nor any card without a chip. I could have been left in a VERY embarrassing situation had I not carried enough cash on me. All in all, this place has potential, but unfortunately is not there yet.

Went there yesterday. I liked their idea of the bar. No fancy lights outside , intact there is none. A small cozy well maintained beautiful place which has some good collection of cocktails coupled with some good music that allows us to enjoy them. We will meet again soon 😉

This is a wonderful cocktail bar! I speak only a little French and was having a little trouble picking a cocktail off the menu. The bartender talked with me in English and guided me to a drink based on the classic cocktails I knew I liked. The Mortadelle Tapas was yummy and the overall vibe is both relaxing and hip. I definitely recommend trying this place while in Lyon.

Cocktails were great, especially the Honey Berry Mule and Fog Ripper. Kokoi was okay, strong mix but mostly ice. Their tapas are all typically served cold, but the tortilla espagniola was even better warm IMHO. The cold raw mushrooms takes some getting used to, not particularly crazy about it. Great service overall!

Bar full of life and lots to do spread during the week!

We found this very much by accident. Sadly forgot to take photos, but the fish and chips were great, and the burgers went down well as well. Would have liked a bigger selection of beers, but had a nice pint nevertheless. Proper pub feel as well.

I dont recommend the food here. The cheddar burger lacked salt, and I asked for the meat to be medium rare they made it very well done. The ceasar salad lacked sauce. However, the service was very friendly and fast. The music was great, the atmosphere was cool. I recommend this place to come have a drink with friends.

Went here with the family while visiting Lyon. I got fish and chips and they got a burger and the falafel bites. Everything was very lovely and delicious and the service was very friendly and inviting. Would come back!

There was a rat inside! The waiter saw it and did nothing — he just laughed. The rat was freely roaming through the bar. The food took a long time to arrive, and the staff wasn’t very friendly. The food itself was good, though, but having a rat in the bar is unacceptable.

I love this place . It is a very nice bar with three floors , the ground level one, the upstairs and the underground , all three very accommodating. I especially like the underground floor. It is very antique and comfortable with sofas and big cushy chairs. Their beers: Amazing! Their cocktails: Amazing! Their planche: Amazing! (the charcuterie is very tasty, very good quality) Their staff: Amazing! They also have hot wine which will be interesting to try (I have not tried it yet) I highly recommend this bar . Stopped here after dinner at the recommendation of my host. We managed to grab a table to have drinks at the front of the boat. The bartenders were friendly and spoke English, and were able to recommend some drinks. The DJ was setting up but no one was dancing yet, but there were a handful of people getting down by the time we left just before midnight on a Monday!

Two times I have been there I had a very positive experience - nice people working behind the bar, a good beer selection and good food. However, a third time we had quite a bad experience with the bouncer who did not let us in due to the reason that there were no boys in our group. I consider this discriminatory. It is a pity, as our first two times at the bar were good experiences

Cool funky bar. When the weather is hot it's packed so get there early to avoid disappointment!

Great place for a large group on a warm summer night. You can buy beer in pitchers to make it easier since service is at the bar. People tend to stay a long time so finding space may be difficult at times. Nice place to have a beer by the river either way.

We were very disappointed; my glass of wine was not 12cl, more like 6cl... The glass was small and the server did not measure it. I know this for certain because I am a certified sommelier and so I know how much 12cl is. The food was way overpriced, and the owner later was condescending (saying something ridiculous about the price of McDonald's). I don't know because I do not eat at McDonald's. One of our glasses was also dirty, which they did replace. Overall, we just simply did not get the quality we paid for.

This place is really amazing!!! The wine is excellent and very quality without being too expensive!! Waiters are friendly and welcoming. Finally the food is simple but really efficient and it’s a perfect match with the place and wines. I honestly recommend this place to every wine addict! It’s the place to be in croix rousse!!!

Excellent spot to drink a beer. In the middle of the city but yet in a relatively calm part. Super friendly staff and owners. And I drank an amazing shot of amaretto, kahlua and pineapple juice.

Its name likely derives from “mamar” (sucking), emphasizing the drink’s easy consumption. It’s made by mixing yellow Chartreuse—a herbal liqueur originally created by French Carthusian monks in the 18th century—with lemon granizado (lemon slush). Even though I've lived in Barcelona for a few years, I've never been to Tarragona, and never heard of this drink. Chartreuse is made in the Alps near Lyon and is very popular in this region.

Literally an amazing restaurant with wide range of wine selection and terrific delicates. The staff are very accommodating and friendly! A must go restaurant in Lyon! Not joking, you will miss a lot!

Lunch blessed by Carthusian monks at the temple of Chartreuse in Lyon aka the unmatched Cave Cafe Terroir. The food was kissed by the hands of angels. From the amuse of chicken stock and sweet potato puree, to the housemate terrine, the tart tartine of caramelized shallot with flakey pastry that you can hear shatter with the slightest fork pressure, the melt in your mouth over the top decadence of braised beef cheek and foie, to the cheese that i was too stuffed to finish. But OMG the Chartreuse! MOF, Elixir 1605, and the coup de grace the Cuvee of Green Chartreuse releases going back over 3 decades. 🥹 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I can only give it the elusive 6/5 fuegos. Thank you to @cyril_mntg for the rec! Thank you to the wonderful and sweet staff for making my lunch a truly unforgettable culinary experience that i will treasure for the rest of my life!

I wish I could give service 7 stars out of 5. The young gentleman spoke plenty of English for us though he was bashful that he didn't know more. He explained the food, made excellent wine and cider recommendations, helped my mother who has mobility problems, and ran after us when we left because we had dropped a bus pass. The food, drink, and atmosphere had this at 5 stars already, but man, the service made it our best experience at a restaurant yet in France, and we've been here for 1.5 weeks already ( and had a few outstanding experiences before this). Merci beaucoup!

Perfect place to chill during the day, great view on the river and central part of the Lyon. Guys that are working there are great, great service and great people, all speak English and all are super helpful and friendly. I had great time there, was during the day, then left to check out the rest of the city and came back later at evening, it was packed 😁, although it was Wednesday. Will definitely stop by again when I visit Lyon.

Nice boat bar but you pay for the fun location with a mediocre quality of food and drinks. Cocktails are incredibly sweet and we all watered them down to make them drinkable. Everything's quite pricey given the quality. Also if you're sensitive to smoke, not a great place as everyone is smoking.

Stopped in for a beer, chacuterie, and fromage on a summer evening. There is a whole line of floating bars/restaurants along this section of the Rhone, this one wasn't the most jam-packed, but it was busy (the pictures I attached make it look deserted...it was not). Staff spoke English and was friendly. Beautiful view and great food.

Great selection of craft beer, including ten taps and a good selection of bottles e.g. Rodenbach Grand Cru. Tables inside and out in the laneway. Dimly-lit stone and wood interior with windows looking out onto the laneway. Friendly and attentive staff.

We enjoyed a nice night sitting on the terrace at Les Assembleurs Prefecture. Lovely atmosphere and they likely have 25 wines on tap from various regions which is a nice way to be able to taste a broad selection of wines from different regions and varietals at reasonable prices. During the evenings they serve tapas. We had four dishes. A veal dish,gnocchi,eggplant and grilled octopus. Our two favorites were the octopus and the veal followed by the gnocchi and lastly the eggplant. All in all a very nice evening and a place we will recommend.

We stopped in for a glass of wine (no food). Fairly priced wine with great selection. But the service was outstanding! A very friendly, polite and knowledgeable young man who served us. He also shared with us a digestif that was created in house and it was DELICIOUS! Absolutely recommend.

Anyone who enjoys wine MUST come to Les Assembleurs. You can blend your own wine from the vast choices they have and they also have some pre-selected blends if you cant decide. The price is also great as its €15 for 500ml of wine and €25 per 1Liter. Come and make your own blend over some snacks and enjoy a hidden gem in the wine scene.

We went for lunch and loved it. The food was very tasty and the assembled wine feature is a great idea, I wish there was something like this here in London. I highly recommend everyone to go when in Lyon!

We had some really inspired, original and perfectly executed cocktails here, a real treat! The staff were very warm and welcoming staff and took the time and effort to make sure we were looked after, and spoke very good English (which we were grateful for given our very basic French!). Around €14 a drink so not cheap - but well worth the money if you are happy to spend it. It's rare to see a place that surprises you with the creativity of the drinks AND makes you feel welcome.

Probably the best cocktails we’ve had in France. The place is very hip and cool, but the cocktails were both delicious and looked amazing. You may need to book ahead as they are a little busy for clientele off the street. (Especially a Sat or Fri) Will definitely return

Very cozy bar! Amazing atmosphere! You should probably reserve a table in advance. I put 4 because my cocktail was quite tasteless. It was mentioned « cardamom » in the menu but I didn’t find any trace of a cardamom flavor in my cocktail. Though, it’s one of my favorite spices. According to my friends experience with this bar it’s just me who was unlucky. I will give it another try later :)

I just entered the pub to ask for another bar with stand-up I was looking for in the area of Guillotière. The waiters didn't know what I was speaking of but they all try to help me to find it. After that a friend of mine came and we had a good non alcoholic drink recommended by another waiter. Very nice and good services!

Lovely bar, but not so busy you can't get served on a Friday night. Each room has a different theme, if you order food be prepared to explain which one you're in. Cocktails were extremely good, and the plancha to share worth it!

As it was Wednesday, they didn’t have a performer that night. But they kindly wrote up some names of the places that may have a DJ or a live performance. I enjoyed my lovely mojito and headed off. I had a great night at this other locale and owed this to the Groom team. Thank you for that. Whenever I am back in Lyon, I will pop by.

I liked the topper level better as it has music of my kinds. On top of that, proposed cocktails are simply refreshing. Staff is undeniably top notch! There's a dance floor at the lower cellar storey but the music sucks. Fyi, one can order snack bits like pizza etc during the earlier part of the evening.

The music is wonderful and something you can dance to and enjoy, the drinks leave something to be desired. The Dragonbull, as cool as the name implies, is hard to swallow.

Came to this "péniche" to attend a music performance of this band in the pic (N.D.L.F.) and I was not disappointed at all. The band has a unique taste for Rock and has made quite a performance. The bar is nice, and cozy. The employees chill and organised.

I don’t recommend this place at all. Everyone is nice except the security guy. After 1 hour waiting outside he decide to not get me in, we asked why and his answer was: “I decide, you are not French, I only speak French”. And even if two very kind girls translated for us he refused to talk. How is possible that a place like that where you can share nice music is so racist?

This place is just magic. Nice party, good music and affordable drinks. People frequenting this place are super nice. Maybe ordering beer takes a while but that's the only "bad" thing. The terrace on the top of the boat is great for chilling with your friends looking at the city and the river.

I've spent really good nights there. Sometimes you can wait a steady half hour before reaching the door. Still this is a place you have to visit at least once. And sometimes you can see some nice underground gigs . All on the water. Don't expect the best drinks tho. Music and dancing to end the party .

All the negative comments here are basically about the same thing. They do indeed discriminate on foreigners. They will not allow you in unless you are a local. I just moved to Lyon and since they’ve never seen me they told me the club is “private.” I felt discriminated by my own community but it is what it is and from what I hear from others the place itself is not worth the drama with security. Go somewhere else.

The LGBT night club of Lyon. Went badly down, then now is back. Very, very local.....music from pop to RnB. No tech or elec.

This club is not at all the type of establishment that I would recommend in Lyon. If you are looking for a welcoming inclusive bar this is definitely not it. There is a real problem with discrimination in this club and it would not be on my list of must sees in regards to night life in Lyon. Lyon is a multifaceted city that has a lot to offer and this is definitely not a highlight.

Me and my friend incurred the biggest discrimination of our lives. We wanted to enter and the security guard said that the club is full. However, immediately behind us over 5 people were allowed to enter. When we asked why these people were allowed to enter the security guard answered that the club is full. Some of the guests were kind enough to explain that you have to be a “regular” customer to enter. This was completely unfair as we waited patiently for 30min without any warning. Don’t go there people! Enjoy yourselves somewhere else!!!!!

Based on the reviews I had read, I expected to be treated like garbage by security, and it was true, but I'm ok with that. However, the place is smaller than my living room, the staff (coat check and bar) is just not nice at all, and even packed, there's not much ambiance. United Cafe practices discrimination at the door which is disgusting in 2019, but apparently acceptable in 2019 suburban France. I saw the bouncer be as rude as can be. This is only the prelude to poor service inside, bad drinks, and bored patrons.

The wine bar is great! It's right on the river with great views. The owner is friendly and attentive and the wine is good. Seems like all the one star reviews are from people who only wanted to use the toilet. It's a great spot if you are actually going there for a drink.

We last visited O'quai in 2019 & in Dec 2022 it's still a great little place to chill out. There are interesting well priced wines with good value & tasty assiettes of cheeses/saucisson or rillettes. The owner is very friendly & makes visitors just as welcome as the locals. Well worth a visit & we will definitely be back on our next trip. Returned in Jul 2024 & it was just as good as before. I think the range of snacks has increased & we really enjoyed all we had. Some different wines as well & the host is always very welcoming. Certainly a must for our next visit in Nov. 🙂

Great cosy little place next to the Saone, with a good selection of local wines. We tried the Macon Lugny, Cotes de Rhone Bio, and Bourgogne Pinot. Also serves French "tapas style" bites, we had snails and tarte tatin. Would recommend if you fancy a Glass of Vino and a light bite. The owner is very welcoming too.

Really enjoyable for that evening where you want to relax, enjoy a good selection of wines, have something insubstantial but tasty to eat and just chill in a cosy bar without pressure and just enjoy as the sun shines and the world goes by.

Love love loved it! The food is excellent, I had the best onigri I've ever had, I suggest you try the Maguro which has tuna, and spicy mayo inside. The ambiance is fun, a bit funky and we loved participating in the "blind test" which is held every other Wednesday. The cocktail I had was nice, and I'd like to come back and try others.
