Tonkatsu restaurant
Syokudo and Teishoku restaurant
Japanese restaurant
If you're on the hunt for an unforgettable tonkatsu experience, look no further than TonQ in Tsukuba. Renowned for its exceptional quality, this restaurant serves up tender and juicy pork that stands out without relying on overpowering sauces. The culinary expertise here is evident with every bite, making it a favorite among locals who often fill the seats, leaving nearby parks surprisingly empty.
I'm an American and was passing through Tsukuba on a 6000km moped journey across the country. When I made it to my hotel that afternoon I asked the hostess where to eat. Instantly and with absolute certainty she recommended TonQ, and it turned out to be the best food I had on my entire trip. Later on that evening I was at a bar, and I was telling some guy that I had the best food of my trip in Tsukuba, and without missing a beat he was like "Oh I bet you went to TonQ didn't you?" The tonkatsu was cooked perfectly and I especially enjoyed the sauces. The selection of craft beers was also nice, I was able to try a good variety of beers from smaller breweries that were somewhat hard to find in other places.
Mohandas G — Google review
One of the best tonkatsu ever had!! I visited TonQ on a public holiday around 12:10 PM, so it was very busy. I waited about 30+ minutes to get inside and another 25 minutes for the food to be served. But honestly, it was worth the wait! The tonkatsu was crispy on the outside, juicy and tender inside — easily one of the best I’ve ever had. The flavors and quality really stood out. If you love tonkatsu, this place is a must-try!
まん丸月 — Google review
had a great Tonkotsu experience! tried the fried oysters and pork, and they were delicious, not greasy at all! the sitting was on the floor, and the ordering was in Japanese, and the staff was very cheerful and helpful.
Sayan M — Google review
The breading is done very nicely. They have options for seasonal rice and soup (as opposed to a 'regular' choice) with the set meals, and free refills of rice. Orders are done via tablet.
Karmen — Google review
The best place to eat in Tsukuba for Tonkotsu for sure! This place is usually very busy to expect a 30 minute wait whenever you want to eat. Very fast service, good food, and clean interior
Hyper R — Google review
Great quality food, pork in the tonkatsu was so juicy inside and crispy on the outside. Love it!
Pickwhan T — Google review
It's an amazing restaurant, their por miso is one of the best. Rice, tea and Cabbage are free refill. The service is fast and super attentive The tonkatsu and everything else is fresh, and really good done, the flavor is perfect and if you sit at the bar table you will be able to see how is made! I always go whenever I am in Tsukuba!
Alma — Google review

Ramen restaurant
Nestled within the bustling Dayz Town mall, Chūka-soba Aoba Tsukuba is a hidden gem for ramen lovers. This English-friendly spot makes ordering a breeze with its user-friendly machine featuring enticing pictures of their dishes. The standout here is undoubtedly the tsukemen, which boasts an impressively rich soup and perfectly textured noodles that will leave your taste buds dancing. The tender meat complements the flavors beautifully, making each bite a delight.
It's really delicious. I ordered the tsukemen with the regular size and asked not to put the green onion. This size came up with a big portion (for me). The broth is stronger than the ramen. if you like something strong then u can choose this one. I recommend this restaurant. The place looks like it's in Naruto's anime.
Aprilia T — Google review
Excellent food. Inexpensive, but delicious.
Ryan B — Google review
The noodles were smooth, slightly chewy (a plus!), and the egg was perfect. The ham, too, if you're into that. When I took a sip of the broth, it was great: slightly sour with a distant hint of spicy. However, when slurping the noodles, I could not taste the sour and spicy taste of tsukemen, only saltiness. It is good, but it's not exactly what I'm looking for. The price is also on the higher side.
Inco G — Google review
I loved the this Ramen Restaurant. The tastes are delicious. The meat is tender . Staffs are nice . Place is clean . In front of the parking area . Prices are reasonable 👍
HappyR — Google review
Great ramen around Tsukuba.
Wassapon ( — Google review
Very qualified soup. As for the noodle, I guess they wash the noodle so intense in the water and warm it again before serving? Anyway noodle is very smooth in texture but is not tasty. I mean tasteless maybe due to lack of sweet taste of noodles.
Svamp Å — Google review
It's ok, but for all lamens I tasted in Tsukuba it was the most flavorless. I do not recommend, Tsukuba has a lot of better options for the same price. Also it is not enough food for the price, it had poor quantity of lamen pasta, thin chasu and the egg it is just a regular boiled egg without seasoning. And the tsukemen was the simplest that I've ever taste, doesn't worth the price.
Martina A — Google review
It's hard to find a ramen place that's English friendly, but this place is good. When you walk in, there's a machine with picutres where you can pick which ramen you want. And then below it, is the oomori option where you can get extra noodles. I got the tsukemen and it was so delicious.

Italian restaurant
If you find yourself in Tsukuba, make sure to stop by Trattoria Pizzeria Amici for an unforgettable culinary experience. This charming eatery specializes in Neapolitan-style thin-crust pizzas, all expertly crafted in a traditional wood-fired oven. The menu also features delightful Southern Italian seafood dishes that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. While the prices may be on the higher side, each pizza comes with a complimentary cold drink, adding value to your meal.
As everyone said, it is probably the best Italian restaurant I have been to in Japan yet. Everything is fresh and delicious and the prices are appropriate. The homemade pizza is highly recommended. Portions are large, so you can share a few dishes. The recommended menu could use an English version, but the staff is kind and patient so they can translate it for you. On weekends it is best to make a reservation in advance.
Alejo V — Google review
There are very few pizzas 🍕shop in Tsukuba, and this shop one of the best.👍😍 Every pizza shop has it’s uniquenesses and the unique point is the base and the ingredients. You can feel the fresh taste, even if you have already tasted it in some other shops.👏👍 As far as price is concerned, it’s a bit high but they are serving one cold drink can with every pizza. Similar to the vegetable salad, I found that price to be high. Overall it was fun and tasteful experience and must visit pizza shop in Tsukuba.👍
Alok R — Google review
This is the best Italian restaurant I'd been not only in Tsukuba but in Japan so far. It's not expensive and portions are generous. The waiters attention it's very nice and friendly. If you need some Italian homemade realness, you must try this place. The ingredients are fresh (please try the bread) and the menu have a good variety of options.
Alma — Google review
Amazing pizza! I wanna lie and say it was horrible just to gatekeep it, but my conscience won’t allow it 🤣 this is such a wonderful restaurant 🍕
Genial C — Google review

I think they serve as italian food as possible in japan. The atmosphere is great and really enjoyed the food there. It’s ease of access is bit bad because of the location but otherwise a really good place to have dinner
T A — Google review
Amazing pizza and pasta. Lunch sets are great. I see some people sharing it. You can also ask to pack. Definitely a must go place in Tsukuba. When warm, you can also dine outside. (If you want to eat just pizza, there is a pizzeria Amici on the same road)

Izakaya restaurant
Hyakkoutei is a delightful dining spot that offers an impressive array of dishes, making it perfect for food enthusiasts. The tantan-men noodles stand out with their unique flavor profile, complemented by a rich soup and the addition of lotus root. Diners rave about the fried rice and dumplings, but don't miss out on the must-try deep-fried pork meatballs served with a delectable black sauce—these are popular among patrons!
Better to go in a small group of 4 or 5 in order to try a variety of dishes. Went to the other branch last year but liked this one better. Will go again and try something else.
Tono T — Google review
The food is very good. The staff, however, is quite rude. Fortunately, unless you need to ask something, you don't need to interact with them. You can order everything using their app. Note that if you are on the second floor, nobody will come to you and if you need anything, you will have to go around and search for the staff.
Dmitry P — Google review
They have some weird QR code ordering system. Being a person who despises anything having to do with QR codes, I have no choice but to come here with a friend who can order for me. The food isn't really memorable at all. In fact, even though I ate here two days ago I can't remember what I got. The dumblings were good however. Get rid of the QR code menu! Nobody likes it! I was very happy that they have an ashtray outside though.
M P — Google review
Some food is delicious and some are okay. I think their dim sum and Taiwanese braised pork aren’t that good. My favorite is their 酢豚 and fried rice. Price is affordable for their large food portion. It is always crowded since it is the nearest Chinese restaurant to the central university.
H. B — Google review
The food is really good and the price is worth it.
Yohanes J — Google review
I've been coming here a lot of times because it's one of the few Chinese restaurants near the university. It's a good place for groups in casual situations. You won't feel uncomfortable either if you're alone. They have a big menu but their food is average. Although their 炒飯 (fried rice) might be their strength. Service is great too and food comes very fast even in busy times.
Addie — Google review
Best to go with friends, as you can share large dishes. They've also got teishoku (meal set), which are good, but sharing might save some change. The variety and quality of the food are quite good, making it nice not only for everyday meals, but also to stop by for a friend gathering.
Kazuhiroogawa — Google review
Very nice. The noodle of tantan-men is very unique. My friend said that it contans lotas root. This noodle fits with the soup. Fried rice, dumplings, good. I have to mention that the pork big meat balls, you should try. It is pork チャーシュー then deep fried served with very nice black sauce. Many peole orderd that whe we visited.

Ramen restaurant
Nestled in the bustling heart of Japan, Aoi is a charming ramen shop that offers an authentic taste of this beloved dish. With its simple and compact surroundings, it provides a cozy atmosphere perfect for enjoying delicious noodle bowls. The rich flavors of their ramen are particularly noteworthy, featuring a unique seafood essence that highlights prawns—ideal for those who appreciate oceanic tastes.
The best ramen I have ever had in my life! Usually I visit this place once in a while, but every time I have the first bite, feels like the first time. Nothing can be better than this when it’s cold outside. Broth is super thick, extremely flavourful. All the ingredients perfectly complement each other. Overall, it is indeed the best ramen in Tsukuba, so I look forward to coming again :)

CrUX A — Google review
One of the best ramen I’ve ever had. The thick rich flavour broth is everything you need. The only downside, I didn’t personally like the flat noodles they served though.
Soumitra P — Google review
Wow, as a visitor it was my first time eating ramen in Japan. It tasted amazing!! The gyoza is also very good. It is quite warm inside but the ramen is worth it; it is like a restaurant and spa treatment for the face combined! If you don't understand Japanese, it will be difficult to order from the machine (like it was for me haha), but the pictures I posted below of the ramen are the 1st and 2nd buttons. :) I forget what the gyoza symbol was, but I know it's 280 yen and it's a white button at the bottom right of the machine!
Maria P — Google review
This is clearly one of the strongest contender of my favourite Ramen place in Japan. At Al least my top 3. I wish I could add more stars. Flavour of the rich yet light broth is absolutely amazing. And the smooth Jazz, seemingly being a Touhou Project arranges lifted up the experience to the new heights. I definitely a must visit place in Tsukuba.
Wojciech K — Google review
Incredibly deep ramen, totally worth it! Some people complain about the queue that can get very long on some occasions, but if you come around the end of service hours, there are usually much less people. Around 1000¥, lots of topping available. The large portion costs as much as the small one, but is definitely a challenge to finish if you're not prepared ^^ Maybe not everyday, but very nice experience overall :D
Louis R — Google review
There are so many ramen restaurants in Tsukuba that they all start to blend together after a while. However, this restaurant in particular stands out. The ramen soup broth is so savory and rich. It is much "thicker" than normal ones I have had before and so much better. My only regret was not getting the large size. I will have to go back again for that.

West House is a Western restaurant that offers a variety of lunch menus. Among the options, the omurice stands out as it caters to Moslem dietary requirements by offering a sauce without pork. However, those concerned with halal food should avoid the ebi furai, which is cooked together with non-halal chicken. The dish is served with a choice of Italian or curry dressing for the accompanying salad. The overall taste of their dishes is satisfying.
Their top notch service will always drag you. They have a great collection of tea. My favorite is Ayurvedic herbal tea. They have a kind of service for your special day celebration. You can reserve for it over phone. If you like coffee, they have it too. My recommendation is caramel latte. It is great place for groups; friends, family members. Environment of this shop gives you a retro vibe. Staffs are professional.

Nice family-friendly Yoshoku (Japanized "Western" Meals) restaurant that seems like a local favorite in Tsukuba. Tasty food at large portions - if it's your first time and you want an "overview" taste - get the Yoshoku plate (in photo) - Omurice, Salad, Croquettes, Potage Soup. The BPS is also delicious and filling! They accept credit cards too, which is convenient. Just a short walk/drive from the JAXA Space Center, if you're visiting.

HappyR — Google review
It was lunch time, close to 12. We went with our hungry children (age 5 & 1) and the waiters took 20 mins to even come to our table. When they did, the dishes we wanted to eat was either finished or not severed on that day ( wish they had some kind of notice telling us that. We are fluent in Japanese, FYI). So had to look through the menu again…which took more time. The kids menu didn’t look like the picture on the menu. Food wasn’t that bad but not great too. Overall it was not a good experience. Wouldn’t go there again, even though it’s just opposite Doho park.

Ton Q is undeniably one of the top chain restaurants specializing in tonkatsu, although it may be slightly more expensive compared to its counterparts. Customers can always expect a delightful selection of seasonal soups and rice options that complement their meal perfectly. Moreover, the rice and cabbage salads are refillable, enhancing the overall dining experience. While some might argue that Tsukuba Center's branch offers a wider range of menu choices, this particular establishment is equally impressive.
My favorite Tonkatsu restaurant. Everything yummy, tender and well cooked. Their tonkatsu are totally different from tonkatsu overseas. There are some types of pork. Side and seasonal menu are also 'must try!'.
RYKAYOYU — Google review
I recommend the Platinum Pork Tonkatsu. The taste and the softness of the pork are mind blowing. Salad dressing is also great! I can enjoy the whole meal.

It is simply one of the best chain tonkatsu restaurants, if a little pricier than others. There are always seasonal soups and rice to go with your meal, and the rice and cabbage salads can be refilled. I think the store in Tsukuba Center has more variety in the menu, but this store is great too.

Stamina Ramen Gamusha is a charming eatery that serves unique local ramen noodle soup with a twist. Their standout dish features an amalgamation of flavors, combining pumpkin, liver, and cabbage in a distinctive way. The restaurant boasts an easygoing atmosphere and has garnered a reputation for its great ramen options that deviate from the typical offerings. The staff members are known for their politeness and helpfulness, ensuring diners have a pleasant experience.
The ramen was excellent and a huge portion for the price. Pay attention to order the regular size if you're a normal human. I can eat a lot, but had difficulty to finish the mid size ramen. The queue was huge, on the other hand it's not worth to wait one hour, there are other good restaurants around it.
Mark K — Google review
It is a popular restaurant for Ibaraki Prefecture's gourmet stamina ramen. Stamina chilled ramen is a soupless ramen with red bean paste. It is sweet and spicy with pumpkin, carrots, cabbage, and liver. It is a very popular restaurant, so you will have to wait in line for about an hour. Only cash and prepaid transportation cards are accepted.
Yutaka K — Google review
I often wanted to go here multiple times per week, but was afraid the owner would get tired of seeing me that often. Great Ramen with vegetables and liver, not the typical Ramen dish. Very polite and helpful staff. You can add gyoza as a side, or have a soupless version. I was afraid at first time to go here with the language barrier but it is no problem at all. I would fly and come to Oho again just visit that place again, one of the best food experiences I had. Thanks for readings. Thank you to the staff there for the meals.

Sushi restaurant
Sushi Dokoro Yagura Tsukuba Honten is a beloved sushi spot in Tsukuba, known for its thick and generous slices of fish. Despite slightly inconvenient parking, it offers private rooms for small gatherings and is considered reasonably priced. Visitors appreciate the traditional Japanese ambiance, excellent food quality, fair pricing, and friendly service. It's hailed as a favorite sushi place with ample portions of high-quality fish served by accommodating staff.
Excellent restaurant with nice service. The staff was friendly and efficient, with no long waiting times. The fish was fresh, and the sushi was perfectly prepared—each bite melted in my mouth. The atmosphere was cozy, making it an ideal spot for Japanese cuisine lovers. Definitely a place I’d love to visit again!

La Porta trattoria e bar offers a wide variety of delectable Italian cuisine including pizza, pasta, seafood, meat, and wine. The restaurant has a relaxed and casual atmosphere with an outdoor patio where patrons can savor their meals. Although they don't have private rooms, the seating arrangement provides ample space between tables. Additionally, there is a secluded area in the back of the establishment with roll screens for added privacy. La Porta is also wheelchair accessible and welcomes families with small children.

It's an unadorned, slightly luxurious feeling that leaves you feeling bright and refreshed in the morning. You'll be amazed at the quality, which remains the same no matter when you come. The colorful 9-item plate was all delicious. It may contain some raw ingredients, so be careful if you are pregnant. If you come first thing in the morning (6:30), you won't have to wait for your pre-ordered food to be served, and the buffet is neatly lined up, giving you a more resort feel. Fortunately, this establishment remains open and offers a variety of chicken dishes, with their tasting menu being particularly outstanding. Additionally, the prices are quite reasonable. When visiting on a Monday afternoon around 13:20, the wait time to be seated was approximately 20 minutes. Another noteworthy restaurant has a shorter waiting period of only 10 minutes despite its high popularity. The food and service at this place are exceptional and come at an affordable cost.

The former is fried chicken cartilage, and the latter is tomato salad. I think they probably started by purchasing ingredients from local butchers and farmers, and the cooking process was slow, about 20 minutes, so I felt like I was just using it as a normal meal. Seriously, when implementing an all-you-can-eat service, depending on the staff's situation, if the delivery is too late, there should be measures such as contacting them in advance, etc., but instead of doing any of those things, they just charge you the money. This kind of silly store can only be called a douzo. Maybe it was just a bad day? Therefore, if I use it again and it still doesn't work, I will decide whether to change the review or not. Saizeriya is a family restaurant that offers delicious cuisine and efficient service. I highly recommend trying their steak, which may not be extraordinary but is definitely worth the 1000 yen price tag. Another delectable option is the Doria with Matt sauce and Petit focaccia, bursting with flavor. The food is good. I do not know exactly how authentic italian food should test (since I am not an Italian and never been to Italy), but whatever they serve as Italian food taste good. The staffs are dutiful, though personalized service is not available. Unfortunately, they have cut the amount of each item in half recently. Hence, it cannot be called a reasonably priced restaurant anymore, as you have to order many items for a hearty lunch or dinner. So, 3 star to current Saizeriya.

(Translated by Google) A rare restaurant where you can enjoy delicious Hitachi beef while looking out at the scenery of Mt. Tsukuba! There were 12 people on Golden Week, but we were able to smoothly guide them through advance reservations. The charcoal-grilled course (4,000 yen) not only lets you enjoy plenty of Hitachi beef, but it's also great value for money. The high-quality fat and softness didn't leave your stomach feeling heavy. If I tried to eat the same quality food in Tokyo, it would probably cost almost twice as much, so I was very satisfied! I added set A (rice, miso soup, pickles, salad), and the miso soup was especially delicious. The gassho-zukuri style buildings were relocated from three 200-year-old traditional houses in Okuhida Shirakawa-go, and the historical and tasteful appearance gave us a sense of the extraordinary. The view from the window is beautiful, so I think it's perfect for family gatherings. It was a wonderful restaurant where you can enjoy both elegance and the warmth of an old folk house. You can enjoy a leisurely meal in this quiet, elegant space. The Hitachi beef hitsumabushi I ordered looked luxurious and appetizing. With one bite, the sweet, rich sauce clung to the dish, bringing out the umami of the Hitachi beef. The meat was tender, and the sweetness of the fat spread the more you chew. You can add condiments to change the flavor as you go, and finally pour dashi over it to make it like ochazuke. When you start to tire of the strong flavor, add some dashi to transform it into a mellow, gentle taste, making it the perfect finale. The ability to enjoy three different flavors in one bowl - rich, refreshing, and refined - was appealing. The staff were very polite and the explanations of the dishes were easy to understand, making it an easy-to-understand restaurant, even for tourists. However, there was one thing I couldn't finish - the course was quite large, so when I asked for takeout, they said it was not possible due to the season. Toori's restaurant is promoting the reduction of food waste and Motteko, so I thought Serena, which is in the same hotel, would also offer takeout, which was disappointing. While raw food is obviously not allowed, I would have liked to be able to take home edamame and other cooked foods at my own risk. At the Vimi Collection iias Tsukuba, food enthusiasts will find a delightful array of culinary options that span across various Asian cuisines, including Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and more. The dining experience is unique; it resembles a restaurant food court with an expansive seating area surrounded by multiple eateries. Guests can conveniently place their orders using tablets at their tables—though it's worth noting that the interface is in Japanese—but fear not! The menu features English translations for ease of understanding.
There are varieties of food selection range from chinese, korean, japanese, and asian cuisines. Food was okay. I will not recommend the asian set that comes with taiwanese braised pork, thailand tomyam noodle, vietnamese spring roll and some side dishes. As a chinese, their dim sum were really good, especially the fried spring rolls, char siew pao, and shrimp dumplings. Korean food was good and not too spicy.

Yum yum food. Waiting time is less and the place has large number of seats. You can order via the tablet but it’s in Japanese language only. The menu has indications in English though. The Thai place is closed.

First time to this food court. This place is more of a restaurant food court. I never realized this. Large seating area like a big restaurant with a number of restaurants surrounding the seating area. You order from the tablet on the table from the different restaurants, and it is brought out by a server. Pretty nice. Some restaurants are not my favorite, but still I think I will be back.

Nestled on the scenic slopes of Mt. Tsukuba, Miyuki Chaya is a delightful teahouse that serves as an ideal pit stop after a rewarding hike. Known for its signature dish, "Tsukuba Udon," this eatery offers a chewy texture and subtle flavors crafted from local ingredients. The Kenchin soba is another highlight, brimming with hearty ingredients that provide warmth and comfort after your outdoor adventure.
Amazing tsukuba udon after hiking the mountain 🏔️ my friend had the hiyashi udon and said it was great too. My udon had hand made noodles, and delicious broth. The vibe of the place is very casual, and if you get a table near the windows you get a great view from the top of the mountain. Recommend!

11/16/2024 Had lunch at this restaurant at around 11:30. It was crowded but was able to sit without waiting for a table of two people on the window side. 筑波山うどん was already sold out so ordered けんちん汁 instead. It was not a lot nor small. Saw everyone in the restaurant ordered the same thing instead of 筑波山うどん. The view from the restaurant, the Pacific side, was nice. So many cool photos mounted on the wall in the restaurant. Some souvenirs sold at the entrance of the restaurant. Paid by cash.

It's run by two kind ladies, so there's no reason it wouldn't be delicious. Tsukuba udon is a specialty, and they serve udon with lots of toppings, just like ramen. If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience, look no further than Groovy! This charming restaurant boasts a warm atmosphere and an incredibly friendly staff that makes you feel right at home. The extensive menu is a food lover's dream, featuring over 200 dishes, with an impressive array of pasta options that will leave you spoiled for choice. Just be prepared for generous portion sizes—much larger than what you'd typically find in Japan—which might explain the slightly higher prices.
I think that the taste and volume of each dishes are very good! I've been visiting here for 8 years.

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, tasty food. The menu is extensive, offering many varieties of pasta and desserts. Be warned though - the portions here are pretty tremendous, much larger than what you would usually get in Japan. I suppose the large portion size explains the higher price too. Nevertheless, an all-around pleasant experience. Come here especially if you're hungry.

If you're on the hunt for a unique ramen experience, look no further than Ramen • Tsukemen Katsuryu. This spot offers an intriguing twist on tsukemen with standout options like prawn and sea urchin broths. The prawn tsukemen is particularly bold, boasting a robust flavor that may not be for everyone due to its thick and grainy texture—definitely an adventure for your taste buds!
A very good ramen restaurant. All the ramen they serve (only five types) are very good. In particular, they use high-quality fresh noodles. Here the tsukumen is highly recommended, since it is delicious and tasty. With no extra-price it's possible to order several size of ramen.

魚介豚骨醤油: A kind of paste composed of dried fish & pork-bone with soy sauce flavor. The soup is very rich like roux but not so salty than I expected. So I recommend this to anyone who loves 魚介系 (dried fish based family) ramen and avoids choosing salty foods.
Yuichi H — Google review
Good tsukemen, but not a lot of toppings for the price.
Max K — Google review
An interesting take on tsukumen, with the two main tsukemen options being a prawn or sea urchin based broth. Had the prawn tsukemen and it was.......very prawn-flavoured. Not for the weak-willed; the soup is thick and grainy and requires substantial chewing before you can tolerate swallowing it. Not exactly my personal favourite, however that is no real flaw of the restaurant and it was still fun to try out. The gyoza was good (they also have a choice between normal gyoza and prawn gyoza). Portions are ludicrously huge. Be warned before you contemplate choosing even the 中 size.

(Translated by Google) They are open without a break. Very delicious😋 They have light soy sauce, shellfish broth salt, seafood tsukemen, etc. The soy sauce is similar to Kitakata ramen. Thick hand-kneaded noodles. A bit salty. The pork slices are soft and soy sauce flavored. The soup is fragrant with chicken oil, and the soy sauce flavor is very delicious because they probably use the broth from the pork slices to turn them over. If it was nearby, I would go there once a week‼️ I'm definitely a soy sauce ramen fan. The gyoza was also very juicy and delicious. This ramen shop has a Jiro-style ramen shop, Katsuro, next to it, and a shellfish-style ramen shop next to it, so you can enjoy a variety of things. The parking lot is also great, with space for nearly 20 cars in total. The interior is clean! I think it's also good for a date. I recommend it.

We ordered tsukemen, seafood ramen, and Chinese ramen, and Katsuryu's tsukemen is delicious as always, so I was relieved to see that the flavor hasn't changed. I was also given some seafood ramen, but I found it quite strong, perhaps because I'm getting older. I wish I could have eaten it when I was younger. With rising prices these days, the prices have gone up considerably since I used to go there often, but the quality of the ramen and service were worth it. Staff was helpful, menu was in English. Steak cooked to perfection. Exactly like I wanted it. Only reason for 4 stars and not 5 was portion size. I understand that when Locals go out for a steak a 8 / 10 / 16 ounce steak is good. But I thought the portion was to small for the price. I would return and if I lived local it would be a regular stop for me. The drink selection was large and every one of the soups ‘tasted’ homemade.

The French flag at the entrance and the price were the only hints of a French restaurants. My wife's pork meat was overclocked with white thin tasteless sauce. My dish of self made sausages tasted like pizza.

Got the small morning set with a European blend coffee. The coffee was amazing with a large variety of blends to choose on depending on how sweet or bitter you like your coffee. Furthermore the ambience inside is lovely and is a great place for brunch or a sweet treat. Would definitely recommend for the price.

The atmosphere is nice and cozy. I got a breakfast menu. It was cost effective around 1000 yen for a coffee and mini omelette, two warm croissant and salad. But the taste wasn't particular. But overall is nice. It is highly demanded. There was a queue when I get in and left.

The atmosphere is nice. But despite the fact that there are a lot of free tables, the staff make you to wait for a long time. They don’t hurry. The coffee shop was full for 50% only, but the people were waiting for 1 hour.

I had to change the rating after going here and finding out that decaf is an extra FULL CUP charge (550 yen!) with the set lunches! I left hungry and without coffee. The lunches themselves are kind of expensive...I am not sure this is a good value place; you get Tsukuba food at Tokyo prices. It has a nice interior, though.

If you're craving Mexican cuisine, El Torito Tsukuba Gakuen is a fantastic choice. This spacious eatery is perfect for larger groups, making it an ideal spot for gatherings. While the service may be a bit slow during peak meal times due to a limited number of waitstaff, the experience is well worth it. Guests can enjoy complimentary nachos and dip that deliver an authentic Tex-Mex flavor.
Loved the free complimentary nachos and dip appetizer! Tasted like authentic Tex-mex to me
Anthony O — Google review
While I really love Mexican food, and this location does not disappoint, the service has always lacked. First, I would like to say that the taste of the food and atmosphere were great. But, the staff, with the exception of the girl working there, lacked any hospitality. As an example, I called for the server by the call button. After a second call, a server came who was looking a different direction. When we asked if we could order, he seemed almost bothered that we requested this. Also, it seems that the portions have really shrunk over the years as my combo plate hardly resembled the picture. Disappointed, but I still like the place.

Wanna Mexican style food? This is the right spot. However it could be hard to gathering services during meal time since there were only four waiters... But this place worth a try after all
Jacky S — Google review
Found this place by chance. Service was fast but the food was just ok. Tacos were watery AF (frozen meat) and salsa was blended to a fine mist rather than chunky. All in all just ok.
K C — Google review
For the price they charge the food quality and quantity were both bellow average. They justify the price with the fancy interior but it’s a one time trip at best.
Eshna S — Google review
I used to go here more often (before the pandemic) and the food was pretty good and fairly priced. The atmosphere is pretty good and you kind of feel like you are in a Mexican-inspired place with all the wall decorations. Since the pandemic, the quality of the food has dropped quite a bit and the portion sizes seem smaller while the prices have increased. The food is just...OK, now. It's Mexican-style food but the meats are kind of stringier and there's more carbs than proteins on the plate, now. The spices are OK and the service is good, but it's kind of expensive to eat there and leave hungry. I went a few times after they reopened and don't really want to go back after my latest experience.

Kintarou Sushi is a delightful gem in Tsukuba, perfect for those seeking an authentic sushi experience. While it may be on the pricier side compared to other locations, the freshness of the sushi truly sets it apart. Diners rave about the squid, which is tender and flavorful—quite a contrast to what you might find elsewhere. The atmosphere exudes a classic sushi house vibe, with attentive chefs who prioritize customer satisfaction.

Lovely place to have lunch - have never been during dinner, as it's way, way more expensive. I have a small stomach and their one-person set is usually slightly too much for me, but the chef happily makes the rice portion (shari) smaller when asked, which makes it the perfect size for me.
J T — Google review
It's pricey and you don't get as much as the Ushiku location, but the sushi is very fresh here. The squid, which is usually tough and rubbery at other places, is soft and delectable here. The service is good and the quality can't be beat. The atmosphere is very old-school sushi house and the chefs are all very attentive to customers. I particularly liked the squid, salmon, fish roe, and miso soup. Would come again for lunch.

Hands down the best place to eat curry udon in Ibaraki prefecture if not Japan as a whole. Good value for money, a variety of menu options (such as creamy curry udon which has milk added or the spicy menu that allows you to choose a spiciness between 1 to 50) and seemingly infinite toppings make this one of my favourite restaurants. Add to that the insanely cheap student service options and you're basically hooked for life The downsides are that it is a bit cramped and get very crowded, especially on evenings when all the students come for dinner.

🌟 Home-Cooked Miso Ramen Perfection! 🍜✨ I recently tried making miso ramen at home using fresh noodles and soup from Matsuya Seimenjo in Tsukuba, Ibaraki. 🏞️ The noodles were firm and silky smooth, perfectly paired with the rich, flavorful soup. Honestly, the result was better than eating out at a ramen shop! 😍👏 What an amazing noodle maker! 🌸 About Matsuya Seimenjo 🌸 Nestled at the foot of Mt. Tsukuba in a beautifully renovated 100-year-old building, Matsuya Seimenjo has been crafting high-quality noodles since 2015. 🏯✨ They use 100% domestic wheat, including the local variety “Yume Shihou,” and their noodles and soups are free from chemical additives. 🍃 What makes them extra special? 🌅 They offer an eat-in space called the “Tasting Section,” where you can enjoy freshly made ramen, even for breakfast (their famous “Morning Ramen” 🌄🍜). Open from 7 AM to 1 PM, it’s a unique and wholesome experience. Their signature dish, “Matsuya Ramen,” features chewy, wavy noodles with a light and delicate niboshi-based broth. All toppings, including char siu and menma, are handmade. 🍖🥢 🏆 Recognized as the best ramen in Ibaraki (Ramen Walker Grand Prix 2018 & 2021), it’s a must-visit spot for both locals and travelers. You can also order their noodles as a gift or through Tsukuba’s hometown tax program! 🎁📦 Whether you’re exploring Tsukuba or looking for an exceptional ramen experience at home, Matsuya Seimenjo is the place to check out. 🌟 #Tsukuba #RamenLovers #MatsuyaSeimenjo #JapaneseFood #FoodieAdventures

(Translated by Google) Although it is merely a tasting from a noodle factory, the portion is enough for one full bowl, so make sure you go with an empty stomach. I arrived at 7:55 on a cloudy Sunday in June, and two of the four parking spaces in the first parking lot next to the store were free. There were five customers in the store ahead of me, and I ordered smoothly with only a 2-3 minute wait. Food and drink payments are only accepted in cash. Char siu noodles 1,100 yen + large portion 200 yen + roast pork rice 350 yen = 1,650 yen. A clear soy sauce ramen in the same category as Kitakata Ramen Sakanai, it may be unorthodox, but the white pepper goes really well with the flavor change, so give it a try. The roast pork rice has a smoky aroma of roasted meat that fills your mouth, and is definitely worth more than its price. This goes really well with black pepper. By 8:30, only the rice dishes were sold out. After the meal, I purchased a Matsuya Ramen Set for two servings for 650 yen as a souvenir (payment by credit card or Pay is accepted for merchandise purchases), and by the time I left the shop at 8:35, there were about four people waiting on the benches in front of the shop. With the refreshing early summer morning air, it was the perfect place to experience a morning ramen at the foot of the mountain, and to mark the beginning of a new page in my travels. The ramen I brought home was also delicious, and I was able to savor the afterglow, making it feel like I'd gotten even more value for my money. The refreshing soy sauce soup, rich with the aroma of dried sardines and chicken, is paired with thick, handmade-style noodles. It's a more soy sauce-based version of Sano ramen. It's so comforting and delicious. 😌 The noodles are bumpy, so they really cling to the soup. And they're incredibly smooth. 👏 They offer low-temperature cooked and regular pork slices, and the low-temperature cooked version is incredibly delicious. 🤤 I recommend the Matsuya Ramen for 800 yen. I'd love to come again. Open from 7:00 AM. Closes after 1:00 PM. I went on a Sunday at 8:00 AM and waited in line for about 20 minutes. Everyone loves ramen. But the flavor is perfect for breakfast. 😍 There's only 10 seats at the counter. It's best to go with a small group or spread out. There are no steps at the entrance that would be an obstacle for wheelchairs, but it is still very narrow. It is possible to enter, but you will have to be careful. As it is a noodle factory, they also sell noodles. They last about a week. Five meals with soup are available from 900 yen. 🍜

We arrived at 7:30, 30 minutes after opening on a Sunday. There were about 25 people in line. We were seated after waiting in line for an hour. We ordered from the menu and paid before sitting down. This time, I ordered a large serving of char siu noodles, and my companion ordered the char siu noodles (pictured). As we sat down and waited, the bowls arrived. First, the noodles, which had a high water content but were both chewy and firm. Delicious. Next, the soup, which was rich in seafood broth and matched well with the homemade soy sauce, was rich in flavor, but the richness was a perfect match with the noodles. There were two types of char siu: thigh and belly, and they were also outstandingly delicious. While each was a main dish, they complemented the homemade noodles. We finished the broth in no time. It was very delicious. I'll come again. Bonus: Because of the high temperature, we weren't able to purchase takeout ramen. If you're buying takeout, it's recommended that you prepare a cooler box in advance. When I left the store it was around 9 o'clock. By that time, the line had disappeared. So if you want to eat without waiting, I recommend coming after 9 o'clock. HAMA-SUSHI Tsukuba Kenkyugakuen is a well-regarded eatery where patrons can quickly enjoy their meal thanks to prompt service and the availability of seating. With on-demand ordering, there is minimal waiting time for food. The establishment boasts numerous plastic dividers between diners, ensuring a sense of privacy and safety. Although the waiting room may become crowded at times, the restaurant offers attractive pricing for its delectable sushi dishes.
First of all, I love kaitenzushi places like Hama. The fish is good, and it's overall incredible value. Compared to sushiro, Hama has better seating, a brighter look, and convenient individual fast conveyors. Sushiro has better seasonal specials, better Macha, and better desserts. Both have good quality fish.

Tonkatsu restaurant
TontokoTon is a cozy and unpretentious eatery that offers a delightful combination of traditional pork cutlets and salads, perfectly paired with beer. The cutlets are skillfully prepared, boasting a crispy exterior and tender interior. A particular favorite among patrons is their delectable sauce, which complements the cutlet's flavors impeccably. However, some find another sauce option on their menu slightly sour for their taste.
Best tonkatsu I have had. Very cripsy and the meat is so tender. The shrims were amazing as well.
Nikol O — Google review
Cutlets are very crispy on the outside and tender inside. My favourite is the 味噌かつ. The sauce is sweet and match very well with the cutlet. やみつきにんにく is my least favourite because the sauce itself is quite sour. Each set is served with salad, miso soup, and rice. They also served free and refillable salad bowl as appetisers.

I've gone once during dinner and once during lunch. Lunch was about 3500 per person, dinner was probably around 10,000+ per person. They didn't have ANY harami when we went for lunch, which was... very disappointing. Like if I had known in advance that it wasn't available, I would have cancelled my reservation and rescheduled. It was the main thing I was looking forward to. The meat otherwise is great. Always brought out very quickly, very tender. But a yakiniku place not having a very popular item in stock... Somehow it's the first time I've ever experienced it, and at a place like Shuen no less. The kimchi moriawase is a whopping 1000 yen, so for lunch we opted for the namul, but the namul is pretty meh, to be honest. Don't bother with it, splurge for the kimchi. While the staff is mostly young, probably college students, they are obviously trained better than certain other places (cough Toraji cough), so they are quick and competent. The parking lot is small. Maybe about 5-6 cars total can fit, and it's a very claustrophobic space, very hard to turn your car around in. Personally, as someone with not that much confidence in their parking skills, I just never bother with their lot. The nearby coin parking lots are pricey, especially Takarajima's (will easily max out at 1000 yen), so be careful of where you park. The restaurant is on the second floor of the building, and it requires the use of stairs to access, so not at all wheelchair user-friendly.
J T — Google review
Yakiniku restaurants have certain challenges concerning how to sell beef that isn’t A5 or the crème de la crème of the cuts. We have been frequenting these is several cities through out Honshu and Shikoku regions and are rarely disappointed. This place though was not quite up to the task. We asked for a set that would include tongue and “hormone”, not unexpected but 90% consisted of tongue and gut ( replacement for liver, my bad idea but delicious) and very little sirloin or rib. I mostly blame myself but we were treating first timers and they were not impressed. A little more help in the translation would have gone a long way to making this a fine meal but the staff was too busy busting us on tong etiquette. Just a bit too fussy. We will go elsewhere since the area is afloat with other choices.

Great facility/baths but the price is astounding. I have never been to an onsen that charges 1900 yen even on a weekday, and I have been to many. Spa prices for what is really just a nice sento. Recommend going on discount days.

If you need relaxation in a hot bath, this place is for you! It's large with different halls, separated for men and women and exchanged every week or so. They have a Japanese traditional comedian theatre as well, restaurant and several relaxation rooms. Stone heating room is available as well. In Summer season, several more pools, hot bath and a sauna are available on the roof. You can pay extra 1000 yen or so and stay for a night after 1 am. Good value for money. Highly recommend!

I’ve been to Tsukuba you world +5 times - love the Onsen and Korean scrubs(scrub ladies do such an amazing job) but the only - and big - negative feedback is that their public area smells like cigarette non stop and it’s quite disgusting when their towels they hand to us as we check in also smell like cigarette too - unfortunately this place is not smoke free

Nestled in the heart of Tsukuba, Hotel Nikko Tsukuba offers a delightful blend of comfort and convenience for travelers. This polished hotel features casual rooms and suites that are well-equipped with essential amenities, including complimentary Wi-Fi, a writing desk, and even a mini refrigerator. Guests can indulge in informal dining options or treat themselves to fresh pastries from the on-site bakery.
Very convenient to access any places for sightseeing. It is located nearby station. Good roof condition even it looks old building. I recommend to stay here if you have a plan to stay in Tsukuba city.

We stayed 4 nights at Hotel Nikko, Tsubuka. The location is great as it is surrounded by many restaurants within walking distance. In is also within walking distance Niki golf shop where we bought some golf clubs and accessories. Just beside the hotel is a small park and when it was Sunday, there were many activities including, buskers and jazz bands from local schools. The staff were attentive and polite throughout our stay. There is a parking lot next to the hotel where guests need to pay Y1000 per car, per day. The breakfast was sumptuous. It can be crowded when it opens at 6.30 am where guests have their breakfast and then check out for their sightseeing. In summary it is a reasonably good hotel to stay in.

My first time staying here. The room was fine, nice and clean, and everything was in good repair. Except for the pool, which is *enormous*, but was not in operation and completely empty. The breakfast selection and staff were excellent. Service overall was friendly, helpful, and they speak enough English to make communications effective, if not blindingly fast. ;) I look forward to staying here again!

The rooms have centralized air so you cannot control the temperature within the room. You have to open a window if too hot (for me it was too hot). Then it’s cold so you have to close the window (all night long). And also there are no cover sheets on the bed, only a blanket. So in the hot room, you sleep bare or with a blanket (duvet). Horrible nights sleep. People are friendly and helpful.

Good hotel next to the Tsukuba Express train’s final stop. Rooms are small but typical for Japan. Temperature was quite warm making it difficult for me to sleep as I’m used to cold temperatures at night in the US.

The hotel has central places, just few minutes walk from the Tsukuba station. It is of course near some shopping malls too. The city is quiet at night time but people seems to stay up late. Hotel service is good, staffs are friendly. Rooms are clean and well equipped. Breakfast is good, especially traditional Japanese dishes.

The reception staff was incredibly friendly and helpful from the moment I arrived until the moment I left. They were always smiling and went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed. But I was very disappointed with the breakfast service. The staff seemed more interested in chatting amongs themselves than in helping guests. And they not refill the food even though there were still have time left before breakfast service was due to end. Additionally, I felt that the staff was not particularly welcoming to foreign guests. They seemed to have a negative attitude towards me and other non-Japanese speakers. This was very unprofessional and made me feel uncomfortable. Overall, I would not recommend breakfast. The food is average, but the service is simply not good enough.I hope that the hotel will take these suggestions into consideration and make some changes to improve the breakfast service.

This is an older Hotel but the rooms are clean and good size for single room. My room has a writing desk a lounge chair a mini refrigerator and a coffee maker. I'm getting a convention rate which is a real bargain and it includes an incredibly great breakfast buffet that has both Western and Japanese food choices.

Nestled just a short stroll from Arakawaoki Station, Ramen Kinoko is a must-visit for ramen enthusiasts. This charming eatery boasts an inviting atmosphere and offers an impressive menu that goes beyond the usual fare, making it hard to choose! On my visit around 2 PM, I was fortunate enough to snag a seat with minimal wait time despite its popularity.
Tried shoyu ramen. Simple and not loaded with overwhelming flavor. Broth is not fatty or oily. Ramen comes with moderately firm thin noodle, different from typical ramen noodle. Chashu is thick and flavorful.

Medium thick noodles with dried sardines and soy sauce‥900 yen The soup had a strong flavor of dried sardines, but it was a little salty and lacked flavor. I guess the noodles will probably remain the same? I chose the char siu wrapped in roses, and it tasted like melty boiled pork, but...isn't this the sauce? I thought I can't help but feel that the taste of the past has been amplified by memories. Of course, it's a passing score, but Tsukuba has a high level of ramen, so I guess it's a 73 point. (Translated by Google) Niboshi ramen! Delicious. The thin noodles are crisp and reminiscent of Ito, a famous restaurant in Oji. A refreshing niboshi soy sauce soup. The char siu is juicy 🐷 I'll definitely go again. They offer three types of char siu: charcoal-grilled, pork belly, and grilled. The flavor is lightly salted, but it's juicy and satisfying. I'd like to try their other menu items too. The interior is a little dark. The owner and his wife have a very refreshing and bright atmosphere, but the lighting just doesn't match lol. There are six seats at the counter and three four-person tables. The opening hours are short. Please be careful. The food is delicious, so there are always customers, but it's never crowded. It's a bit awkward since it's a little before closing, but it's a popular restaurant and you'll have to wait this long, so I hope you'll forgive me. I got into the parking lot easily. Now, enter the store. I was very lucky to be able to sit down as there were about half of the seats available. There are more options on the menu than I expected, so I'm confused. After all, I ordered the standard soy sauce with dried sardines soba. The ramen is lighter than I expected. It's a beautiful collaboration of dried sardines and soy sauce in a slightly bitter soup. It was refreshing that it wasn't like dried sardines. The noodles are thin straight noodles and a little soft. Next up is Taiwanese ramen. Just under 10 minutes from Arakawaoki Station, I visited "Ramen Kinotsubo (Kinoko)", one of the 100 best ramen restaurants. I arrived just after 13:00 on a weekday and there was no one waiting. I was able to enter the restaurant without any problems. There were five people waiting inside the restaurant, but we were able to get a seat within 10 minutes. I ordered Niboshi soba with soy sauce (thin noodles) for 900 yen. I chose the rose-wrapped roast pork (soft-boiled roast pork) from the four types of roast pork. It was served shortly after. The soup is a clear chicken-based broth with a strong, delicious taste of dried sardines. The straight thin noodles made with whole wheat flour have a firm texture with low water content. They are delicious on the iron plate with Niboshi soba. The rose-wrapped roast pork is also soft and delicious. Apparently the owner is originally from Kigenmon, but the ramen has no chopped onions and tastes completely different. It was delicious until the very end. I had passed by this place many times before and wondered what it was like in this old building. One big piece. The charcoal grilled pork was perfectly cooked and had a lemon or citrus scent. No matter where you eat it, it was juicy and deliciously soft. The noodles were delicious. The noodles were medium thick, and I was impressed with the way they were boiled, the texture, and the amount. I noticed this last night while walking down the hallway: The sound of the hair dryer can be heard in every room. It's not just a sound leak, you can hear everyday sounds. So they should have heard me using the hair dryer. And yet, the person who tried to break in was probably someone who prioritizes their own selfish desire to "clean quickly" and doesn't hesitate to invade the guests' privacy. Then at 9:59, as I left my room and turned the corner, the old woman called out, "Welcome back?" "Sorry about earlier..." She should have at least said, "I'm sorry about earlier." I was surprised at her lack of common sense considering her age. So you're being given a room with no privacy. I don't know how long the cleaning staff has been working here, but perhaps they should resign? The foreign staff at the front desk were polite and provided wonderful service, and the breakfast staff kindly spoke to us to make sure we had a good morning, but one cleaning staff member's violation of our privacy ruined everything when we left. The cutlet was large and firm, with a crispy yet soft texture that was just my favorite. We ordered a large loin cutlet, a fillet cutlet, and kushikatsu. The loin cutlet I was given was absolutely delicious. I also got a kushikatsu for my child, which was also delicious, with large pieces of cutlet and onion cutlet eaten on a skewer, like a fried food platter. There was always plenty of sauce in a small container on the table, and it was nice that you could pour it on with a ladle. The restaurant had a counter and a tatami room, but it was incredibly clean and well-maintained, and it was hard to believe they handle oil. I would definitely like to visit again. I'm torn between the two, but I think I'll get the large loin next time. Amazing food, lovely staff, good price and a friendly environment

Amazing hangout restaurant at night. The owner and staff is very nice. I recommend to try Japanese sake here. And you must try yakitori here. It is very delicious. I uploaded many memory this situation was before the state of emergency. If you have a birthday or some ceremony you can tell the owner. You will be very happy and surprise from him.

We were pleasantly that the staff speak English and were friendly and provided us with an English menu. The food was very good, but the service was poor. The yakitori comes out as its ready, and we waited for 40 mins to receive our last piece and/or our check and received neither. After making a considerable effort to get someone's attention so we could get our check and leave, we received a check simply with an amount in yen, not showing what we ordered, and it was 30% more expensive than menu prices. Already irritated with the poor service, we chose to pay our check rather confronting the staff so we could leave after being here for 2+ hours.

Just walk down the stairs and to the left. Fantastic okonomiyaki hit the spot.

Very good

Recommended place for casual dining. Quality of food is excellent, specially yakitori is too good. Place is small and can be crowded in peak hours.

Absolutely amazing food - I highly recommend it! Great service and friendly staff - although I do not speak any Japanese, was easy to order and had a great time!

If you find yourself in Tsukuba, Japan, make sure to stop by Indian Restaurant Saino for a delightful culinary experience. This charming eatery offers a variety of traditional Indian dishes that are sure to satisfy your cravings. During my visit around 2:30 PM, the restaurant was surprisingly quiet, but the food spoke volumes. I indulged in their Khadai Chicken Curry, which was not only delicious but also filling without being overly spicy—perfect for those who prefer milder flavors.
Had butter chicken curry at an Indian place inside a shopping centre. The flavour was rich with a gentle hint of spice in the background – really comforting. You have to pay extra for naan refills, but fair enough, rent’s probably high in a spot like this. Indian curry spots usually don’t disappoint, and this one was no exception. Solid choice.

Halal delicious foods, strategic location, and convenient place
Afifah I — Google review
It is a halal indian restaurant. Clean, nice view facing the central park, good service and at affordable prices. The tandoori chicken and kebab are recommended.

Conveniently located Indian food at Tsukuba center with halal menu. Has the usual selections as a typical Indian restaurant would have. The staff was extremely helpful.

Arrived around 2:30pm-ish. Place was empty at that time, but I have no idea why. The food was delicious. I got the Khadai Chicken Curry. (カダイチキンカレーセット). I thought it wouldn't be enough to fill me up, but I was pretty full by the end of the meal. Not very spicy at all, for those who dislike spicy food. The staff was very nice. He continuously did rounds and made sure everyone had their water filled at all times, and was very friendly. The place is very pretty too and nicely lit, which was surprising since the entrance is located in a fairly dark corner of the building. My only complaint would be that the price is a tiny bit too high. I think if they lowered the sets by 100円-200円, it would be a good deal. But perhaps I am just a cheapskate. XD Will definitely come again.

Awesome food, awesome environment & friendly staff. During December 2016 we were visited once or twice here. We had dinner; took Indian foods, that was India out of India for the moments. Here in Japan you can have beer any time at any restaurant, asahi is the famous beer 🍺 brand in Japan. So if you are somewhere Tsukuba then just go there at Saino the Indian restaurant at Tsukuba in Japan.

I have visited this restaurant many times but, some how it's taste has degraded over time. Specially, last week when i visited with family the food was very very bad. Palak mushroom tasted like grass. Aloo bhindi all sticky and undercooked potatoes. Service, we called like 5 times no body showed up. Finally went to the kitchen area and called them up for our request. I love momo's here but, they said they didn't have it on that day even though the menu didn't mentioned sold out or anything.
