BAR MAROCCO is a Sicilian restaurant known for its authentic and classic recipes that offer a taste of Sicily like no other place. It's a great stop for cakes, brunch, ice cream, and granita. The arancina abburro is highly recommended as one of the best in the city center. The location offers a perfect view of the Cathedral and excellent service. Despite some mixed reviews on the granita, the ice creams are praised as being better.
This little spot surprised me, I was ready to overpay and eat poorly for the view which is incredible and would be worth it but here the prices are not so high and the food is good! I enjoyed the cornetto and cappuccino both great with freshly squeezed orange juice it made a wonderful breakfast with a glorious view. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful despite my little Italian. The location is fantastic and being able to hear the bells ringing whilst eating breakfast made for an unforgettable morning. Recommended.

Really good service and very tasty! Vicenzo was very helpful and recommended us what to try as it was our first time in Sicily. Will definitely come back next time!
Sofia H — Google review
Love this place. Tourism can be so simple. Perfect place to watch people in the immaculate backdrop of the cathedral. Quality is fine, prices more than fair, location considered (Spritz with complementary crisps 6 Euro, water 2 Euro). Service quick and helpful.
Sven W — Google review
The canoli and bread with chocolate chips tasted so good! The creme in canoli was so fresh with citron or orange based scent. Although the bar was quite busy in the morning, it seemed like it was connected to some accomodation nearby, so groups of people visited which led to queues.

Great spot for breakfast on the go. Good pastries, traditional sandwiches & great coffee. There’s a nearby garden to have a relaxed space.

very nice location, we came early and enjoyed breakfast with a view of the cathedral in all serenity. Fast and friendly service

The pastries were actually really good! The only observation is that the waiter was picking up garbage from the street and didn’t bother to change his gloves before serving coffee and sweets. Looks like there is a €1 surcharge per item if you want to sit at a table.

Caffe' Apollo is a charming café located in a bustling area of Syracuse, near the market. It's known for its friendly and efficient service, making it an ideal spot for brunch or breakfast. The menu offers a variety of tempting options, including Sicilian pastries, freshly made panini, and eggplant parmigiana. Visitors can also enjoy excellent coffee and granita while taking in views of the ancient temple and observing the nearby market.
Small caffe serving gelato and a variety of pastry, with a pleasant seating outside. The staff was attentive and served our order swiftly. The cannolli were quite big, but at the same time fresh and tasty. The Aperol spritz and the coffee were equally good. Overall, our experience was very positive.
Andrej M — Google review
Cute bar located in front of the ruins of the Apollo temple. I came here and ordered 2 coffee cream. They asked me if I wanted a small or a large one. I decided to go for the large. They served me the attached cup. I asked if it was normal that the coffee cream was only half of the glass. They replied that it was till 3/4... Bill for 2 creams and one cannolo: 10.5€ which sounds like the bill of a bar in Milan and not of Sicily.. Considering the answer (with no grounds) of owner to my review above, hereby my comment to it: First of all, nobody told me that the glasses were finished and that you were going to serve them in bigger ones. Nobody suggested to check or weigh the quantity. I have been served with no comments That said, regarding the fact that Milan and Siracusa are both in Italy ans therefore should have the same costs I must disagree with the comparison Indeed Sicily, like the rest of Italy, shares certain national expenses, but the overall cost of running a business in Milan is significantly higher compared to Siracusa. For example: Rent and Property Costs: Milan has some of the highest commercial rents in Italy, especially in central areas. Siracusa, on the other hand, offers way more affordable rental rates, which naturally affects the overall cost of operating a business. ( I know it because I am Italian and I owe properties in Siracusa and I know that rents in Milan can cost x5 or more than in the south) Taxes and Utilities: Although tax rates are standardized nationally, the actual cost of utilities and local taxes can vary, with Milan generally more expensive due to its infrastructure demands and higher population density. Labor Costs: While labor laws ensure some consistency at the national level, businesses in Milan have to offer higher wages to align with the city's cost of living, which is not as high in Siracusa. Miscellaneous Expenses: Other costs associated with running a business, such as insurance, marketing, and compliance, tend to be higher in Milan due to the competitive and demanding nature of its market. Given these factors, it's clear that the higher operating costs in Milan justify the generally higher prices. Therefore I would recommend the Apollo owners to better inform themselves about the costs in Italy.

Lovely café with lots of delicious pastries! We tried the Nutella, ricotta, and pistachio pastries. The ricotta one was really good. Perfectly sweet and super creamy.
Adi C — Google review
Hearty Pizza Caffè Apollo offers a laid-back dining experience overlooking the Temple of Apollo ruins. The pizza portions are large, and free nibbles are a nice touch. The service was on the slower side, but it suited the pace of the place—great for people-watching and enjoying the surroundings. If you’re not in a rush and want a bite to eat in a scenic setting, Caffè Apollo is a good choice.
Onbarefeet — Google review
They have the most delicious almond flavoured ice cream I ever tasted. Probably the best in the world. If you are in Syracuse, Caffe' Apollo is a must be visited place and do not dare to skip almond ice cream. All other flavours are great, but mandel is best without a doubt.

Came here twice on our stay in Syracuse and it was great. Good coffee, the best cream croissants EVER! and lovely waiter who spoke great english. It’s a good spot for people watching and nice and shaded with umbrellas. The tables all have lovely flowers on them too. Loved this place 😊

Probably best coffee we had on Ortigia, cornetti were top. Two cornetti and a cappuccino was €6.5. Came back another time for cannoli and peach granita which was pretty delicious aswell 😋. Good location to sit and relax and people watch.

We stopped off for a coffee lovely atmosphere, staff are super friendly especially the lady. We had a couple of limoncello spritz here and they kindly gave us some snacks with it. The bread was amazing and fresh. Prices wore very reasonable. Really recommend

A truly lovely café! 🍰 The pastries are delicious and the coffee is absolutely great. We also tried the panini, which was more than good – so much that we came back three times during our holiday. The prices are unbeatable too. Highly recommended!
Theresa S — Google review
Without exaggerating, this is the best pistachio granita I ever had!! It did not taste artificial at all, but actually had tiny pieces of pistachio in there and was so wholesome in flavor! This made my day!
Anne — Google review
Great coffee and granita place in the city center. We had coffee granita and iced coffee, both really good - not too sweet, not too watery, the flavor was just right and refreshing. It is also nice to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere of the streets of Palermo. The service was a bit slow, but there were a lot of people, so it is understandable. Possible to pay by card 💳 Recommended :)
Filip M — Google review
Both granita and brioche are really tasty - had to visit twice during vacation!
Sara P — Google review
I recently visited Caffetteria del Corso in Palermo and was blown away by the delicious treats they had to offer. The granite and brioche were particularly standout items - the perfect combination of sweet and refreshing. What impressed me most was the fast service - despite the cafe being quite busy, the staff worked quickly and efficiently to get everyone their orders in a timely manner. The location is also fantastic, right in the heart of Palermo and easy to find. Whether you're a local or a tourist, this is the perfect spot to grab a quick and satisfying snack. And if you're in the mood for something a little heartier, be sure to try the warm pastries - they were absolutely delicious. Overall, I would highly recommend Caffetteria del Corso to anyone looking for tasty treats and fast service in a convenient location. It's definitely worth a visit!

Amazing restaurant! Bartolo was a great waiter - communicated the specials of the day and enticed us with his signature cocktail. The seafood was fresh as it was caught that day, filled with great flavours. Delicious wines and cocktails. Overall it was a fantastic experience and would highly recommend.

I had an aeolian salad which was honestly really good, the tuna was really fresh! But the portion size was really small for the money I payed and the service was a bit slow and disorganized. The location is really cute.

Thank you Bartolo for helping arrange dinner for our group. The extra care provided to the 4 infants in the group was greatly appreciated as it allowed us to have an early dinner for the children and still enjoy the delicious food too.

We had lunch here and we had the eolian pasta which was delicious and the pasta a la norma, we really enjoyed it. As dessert we took the canoli which was really good and they offered us littles biscuits with a liqueur. The waiter was very friendly and he spoke English and French. The service was a little bit slow, we passed an hour for the lunch, but the waiter was polite and he presented his excuses. The place is nice near the port.

Really lovely place, great service and cosy terrace right in the middle of a small port. The food is excellent and clearly freshly made, menu changes daily and is full of local dishes and ingredients. Ate here twice and loved it both times!! Also try the ricottamisu, it’s amazing 🤩

It’s rare to find great food and a view of the sea. Here the octopus was cooked perfectly and the pasta was as good as any we’ve had in Italy. Incredibly fast and friendly service. True gem and a must stop if you’re in town.

Caffè La Vela delivered an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. The service was outstanding — the waitstaff exemplified the very best of Italian hospitality: warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Every dish was a delight. The shrimp were incredibly fresh and flavorful, and the pasta with swordfish was absolutely magnificent — perfectly cooked and beautifully balanced. To top it all off, the Ricottamisu and Tiramisu were both a standout dessert: light, creamy, and unforgettable. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. A truly memorable experience!

I wasn't able to visit in December/January, as I got the recommendation since last September, but definitely, it was worth waiting. I have indulged myself in the pistachio frenzy and I am very happy about it! The game Italy vs Switzerland/ Euro2024 was running above my head on the big screen, so one of a kind experience, was able to witness the locals enjoying their brioche with granitas 😀.
Irena G — Google review
Unprofessional and frustrating. After multiple confusing calls, no English communication, and being told contradictory things - even that there would be no delivery at all. Customer service was chaotic and rude. Cake looked fine and tasted okay, but the base was incomplete, likely rushed. Not worth the stress. I ordered a cake online a week in advance through their website, with delivery scheduled for 8:00 AM. By 8:30 AM, nothing had arrived, so I called them. Unfortunately, no one spoke English, and I had to explain my problem at least five times to different people. Then, without any explanation of where my order was, they simply hung up on me. When I called again, they told me there would be no delivery because the driver hadn’t picked it up. I doubt that was true, as they had no idea which order I was talking about at first and kept asking for details. It felt more like they had forgotten about the order entirely. When I asked for a refund (since I had already paid in advance), they suddenly said, “Oh yes, there will be a delivery,” but couldn’t tell me when. Communication was extremely frustrating, as they didn’t seem to understand even basic English. Eventually, they claimed it would be delivered at 8 PM - a huge difference from 8 AM. Half an hour later, I got a call from the driver saying he was outside my hotel… at 9:30 AM. Clearly, they had no idea what was going on and were just saying random things on the phone. Luckily, I was still at the hotel to receive it. The cake looked nice and tasted fine, but the cookie base was only in the center and not under the whole cake - likely because it was rushed. Overall, it was a complete disaster: unprofessional, disorganized, and with terrible customer service, especially for a prepaid order.
Teddybear — Google review
Its a good clean place with friendly staff and a wide range of desserts and good coffee but it falls short to some of the most original and artisan places that only make 1 or 2 things instead of all the desserts imaginable. If you're on a group with differents tastes and you want to please everyone come here, if you want to taste some of the most delicious traditional Sicilian desserts keep searching. However it's a great place greats staff and if I lived here I'd probably come here a lot of times. Also the granita felt a lot like just ice cream, I've had muck better and unique granitas I'm other places more focused on it.
Marcos G — Google review
Incredible place if you are looking for a dessert. We had the pistacchio cake and a standart cannolo. Best cannolo i have ever had. They dont put the filling in until you order it so its still perfectly crunchy. And the cake could not possible be more pistacchio then it was. The staff is incredibly friendly too.
Koen D — Google review
I chose to give them 5 stars because it's becoming a long-term commercial activity in which the quality has remained almost the same. The food is good (in big quantity and affordable price). The service is ok. It could be better however I think they're more a laboratory in which you can go to buy sweets and bring them home.
Giorgio P — Google review
We ordered a pistachio granita, brioche, espresso, cheesecake, and fondant cake with gelato on the side… which was a bit much to say the least. :) But everything was tasty and staff were friendly! Thank you for your accommodating spirit towards foreigners.
Miya H — Google review
Horrible customer service. If you are a tourist and don’t speak italian, you can’t go. We wanted to know how some of the flavours tasted since they didn’t have the name on, first we spoke spanish since most italians understand but he said he didn’t, then we switched to english. He said only italian because we were in Italy, and if you go to the US you speak English. Terrible sympathy for tourists, didn’t even try to understand English. We ended up leaving without ordering.

The granita and gelato are exceptional, offering a refreshing burst of flavor with every spoonful. Additionally, the wonderful cakes, sweets, and pastries are a testament to the skill and creativity of the pastry chefs. What sets Chocofusion apart is not only its delectable offerings but also the inviting atmosphere. With ample seating available, it's the perfect spot to enjoy a leisurely breakfast or simply indulge in a sweet treat. We even found a complimentary copy of the newspaper that added an extra touch of convenience and hospitality. We visited at about 10:30am midweek. We have three children who had no idea what to order (and are fussy English!!) so it took us a while to order and we wanted to taste lots of little bits of things. The staff spoke a bit of English with us and were really kind, especially lovely with the kids. We enjoyed little almond biscuits, croissants, espresso, granita and brioche. Everything was delicious and the highlight was two cannoli that we had packed up to take home - these are made fresh so not on display, you need to ask for them. Worth it entirely! The whole feast cost rough £20 which feels very good value. Thank you 😍
Nicole D — Google review
Pasticceria Basile is off the beaten path — not located near the municipio (aka the Commissariato) where all the Montalbano fans hang out, Basile requires you to go there with intention, and it’s worth it. In the summer, head there in the morning and ask the lovely Maria-Grazia for a brioche and a roasted-almond-covered-in-a-thin-layer-of-coffee granita. Then if it’s also Sunday, ask for the Testa di Turco — that’s a Turk’s Head, a turban-shaped choux pastry piped generously with either ricotta cream or custard. It’s to die for — just as the poor Turk did. For today, we will leave verbal propriety and cultural sensitivity at home and just enjoy this heavenly pastry. You also won’t go wrong with any of the fresh cannoli or cookies. There’s a small table outside if you must eat there, but I suggest carrying the items someplace outdoors in this marvelous little city and channeling the late great Marcello Perracchio as you savor every sublime bite.

The brioche pairs perfectly with their refreshing lemon granita, creating a harmonious blend of flavors that’s not overly sweet.
A very nice place. Tasty sicilian sweets and very tasty arancini❤️ friendly staff❤️ came here few times, thank you

Delicious coffee and the pastries have the perfect sweetness. The staff was kind. We definitely plan to come back here.

We had breakfast included on our B&B rental, and Antica PasticceriaSalamone, was the place for it. mostly locals stop for an espresso or cappuccino with an good choices of morning pastries, don't forget you are in Italy, and it's not eggs pancakes and sausages, get what the locals eat for breakfast, personally the croissant filled pistachio cream was just the top. Ice cream desserts and cookies are also available. The staff didn't speak much English but made a great effort to help us. At the end of our breakfast we had an animated conversation with everybody around our table. Fantastic experience!!

Authentic pasticceria and friendly staff serving very good coffee and capacinno. The brioche was tasty, not too sweet and went well with the lemon granita. We shared one arancini ragu and regretted not buying one each as it was delicious and filled with 'to die for' ragu! This shop is set back a few streets from the beach road but well worth the visit.

Simply the best, we went here everyday whilst we were in Naxos. Highly recommend going any time of the day. Coffee good, pastries amazing, and granitas sublime - excellent value. One of the best spots in Sicily so far

Casa Stagnitta is a historic establishment near the Quattro Canti in Palermo, offering a rich experience rooted in over a century of coffee roasting tradition. The venue now includes a pastry and dining space, serving high-quality Arabica coffee in various forms, from iced to granita and affogato. Breakfast options range from classic brioche to iris pastries with ricotta cream and chocolate flakes, as well as savory croissants and other Sicilian delicacies.
Lovely little spot in the heart of Palermo! I ordered a green coffee and sat on the terrace—everything was tasty and the atmosphere was great. I also asked for a glass of water and they gave it to me for free, which was a nice touch. Highly recommended!

This is a lovely cafe located right next to the church of La Martorana. There are several outdoor tables surrounded by shrubs with each table having a real plant which is nice. We popped in for a light breakfast of a croissant and Danish style pastry. It has an extremely varied menu of coffees of which I chose Pistachio which was fantastic. 😋 There is also some choices of teas too. There is, of course, a large selection of food to accompany the coffees, though not all were available on our visit. Service is fine.

Great for a hearty protein filled breakfast with for somebody who has gluten free requests. My breakfast was salmon , eggs, veggies and cheese and was a perfect day to start a busy day of biking and walking. Many other places only have pastries so I was happy to find this place! And they open early.

I recently visited a charming café in Palermo, and I must say it was a delightful experience . The coffee was absolutely excellent, rich and perfectly brewed . I tried the pistachio-filled croissant, which was simply wonderful, and the iris with ricotta was equally delicious . The café itself is very beautiful , offering plenty of seating and a cozy , inviting atmosphere . Its location is also very convenient, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a treat . Highly recommended for anyone visiting Palermo !

Considering this is 200m away from one of the busiest streets in Palermo, this spot it SO quiet. We stayed in a small apartment around the corner and this became our regular coffee/croissant spot. I can HIGHLY recommend the coffee and pistachio croissants - and if you’re lucky you may bag a table in the street under the lemon trees 🍋

This is a very good place to stop in for a quick bite to eat or a morning drink of coffee or espresso and of course a brioche. I stop here three days in a row so that should explain how good this place is!

A nice little corner to get an affagato or gelato in a brioche bun, on a quiet side street near the hustle and bustle of the old city; great for a quick break on a hot summer day. Everything we had was great, highly recommended!

Nestled in a charming square named after an Agrigento Nobel Prize laureate, Caffè Concordia Famiglia Saito has been delighting locals and visitors alike since 1948. This beloved establishment is renowned for its exquisite Sicilian desserts that truly capture the essence of the region. During the summer months, their refreshing granitas and creamy ice creams served with fluffy brioche are simply irresistible.
We visited this cozy café twice and tried their coffee with pastries both times. The pastries were fresh and delicious, with a wide variety to choose from, and the coffee was smooth and flavorful. The prices are quite reasonable, and the location is convenient, making it a great spot for a quick break or a relaxed chat. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and you can really tell they put care into their offerings. If you're in the area and craving good coffee and pastries, this place is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended!

We came here on a warm spring day after a lot of walking and sightseeing in the Valley of the Temples and thoroughly enjoyed their refreshing and delightful lemon granita. We also had a brioche bun with chocolate ice cream and that was delicious too. The service is friendly and accommodating and the location is central, right in the heart of Agrigento. What’s not to like?

Cafè Cristal is a popular spot, especially during the low season when few places are open. It offers warm lunch dishes like pasta and chicken at reasonable prices, around 7.5 per plate. The cafe is known for its high-quality patisserie mignon, including freshly made cakes and pasticcini. While there's room for improvement in their packaging, the in-house production is superb.

Mama’s - Soul, Kitchen & Community Sharing- Movimentocentrale offers a wonderful American-style breakfast that's hard to find in Italy. The chef is accommodating to food allergies and uses high-quality produce for fresh and delicious meals. The eatery has a hipster vibe and serves street food from around the world, with options like meatballs, chili con carne, and Senegal-style chicken on rice. They also offer a "Tour the World" menu item for sampling main courses.
Wonderful American style breakfast which is difficult to find in Italy. Chef was very kind and accommodating to our friend with food allergies. We all had the American breakfast which was better then half the breakfasts I have in America. The produce used was clearly of the highest quality. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. And don’t skip the orange juice. It’s wonderful. Friendly but not overbearing service. We will be back.

Great local joint, go if you want to hide from the cruise ship tourists. The best spritz in town and great food. Not to be missed
Greg P — Google review
A local hipster eatery which would not feel out of place in Brooklyn or Stockholm. The menu consists of street food from the entire world, focusing on traditional stomach-filling meals such as meatballs, chilli con carne, and a Senegal-style chicken on rice. They have a menu item called “Tour the World” which gives sample sizes of their main courses, and is plenty of food for 2 people. They also speak amazing English, and if I have one regret, it would be not taking the time the dig up all the knowledge they have about Ortigia, but parking waits for no man.

The food was not tasty at all. Dessert had a weird taste and smell, either was not fresh or was stored with other food. The salad was... a pieces of salad and tomato with olive oil, no dressing whatsoever. Drinks were good. Overall I do not recommend to eat there.
Tomasz N — Google review
Really good food and welcoming staff. The recipes are diverse and includes dishes from various part of the world as well as typical Sicilian food. The owner also proposes unique variations of the classic spritz cocktail. The restaurant is a little bit appart from the most crowded areas, in a more peaceful street. It is a little bit more expensive compared to others equivalent Sicilian restaurants but the experience is still very pleasant !

(Translated by Google) Caffè Europa – A dream breakfast in Mazara del Vallo! You can't pass through Mazara del Vallo without stopping at Caffè Europa! It's one of those places where everything is meticulously designed, but what really stands out are the krapfen and croissants: incredibly fresh, soft, and filled with generous amounts of delicious cream. Every bite is a treat. It's hard to choose just one: cream, Nutella, pistachio... each one better than the last! But it doesn't end there: the savory selection is also excellent. Delicious sandwiches, fragrant pizzas, and Sicilian delicacies prepared with quality ingredients. It's the ideal place for both an unforgettable sweet breakfast and a well-crafted savory break. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the service is always quick and cheerful. The atmosphere is clean and well-kept, and you can feel that typical Sicilian welcome that makes you feel at home. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a delicious breakfast or a truly satisfying savory snack. Must try and… come back!
