Cannoli is a must-try when visiting Sicily, as it is the iconic sweet symbol of the region. These delectable pastries consist of a crispy tube filled with a creamy ricotta cheese-based filling, sometimes flavored with pistachio or blood orange. When in Palermo, visitors can indulge in local flavors by sampling cannoli from various restaurants, street vendors, and peddlers in the historical center.
So glad we stumbled upon this on the main walking street! It was our first cannoli of the trip and many more to come. The size is generous but not sickening because the ricotta cream is delicious and not too sweet! The hazelnut ricotta cheese cream was addictive and the large size is only 3 euros! Worth a stop
Karen T — Google review
Oh my god, this cannoli place is a must try. There are five different filling and topping options and they fill them freshly upon order. I had a small one orange ricotta filling with pistachios and orange topping, and it was heavenly. My friends were super happy with what they ordered. They also serve granite and ice creams. I’m definitely going back today to try other options.
HJLee — Google review
The gluten free cannoli are what I was hoping for and they are delicious. The service is nice too. I’m putting one star as the gluten free went from 3.80 to 4.50€ in a week! 20% inflation for us gluten free people. So I put one star hoping the owner will revise this price policy .
Laurent L — Google review
Probably the best cannoli we had during our trip! Fresh, crispy, and very sweet. Definitely recommend sharing one portion between two people if you don’t want to go into a sugar coma 🙂 Highly recommended!
Mateusz T — Google review
THE BEST place to get a dessert in Palermo! when we first tried the cannolo on our week-long trip, we then visited it every single day. the brioches are always fresh, granita sweet and refreshing and the cannolo was the best we had! super kind staff! very generous portions, well worth the price. must visit if you have a sweet tooth
Wojciech G — Google review
Best Cannoli I have ever tried. This is probably one of the best places in Sicily to try cannoli and if you come to Palermo you must stop by. The shell is crunchy but not too hard, just perfect, and they have different fillings to choose from and toppings to add on the sides. The fillings are also spot on, creamy but not overly sweet, just perfect. I tried the classic, pistachio, and hazelnut. I could not fault any! Also, a very good touch, if you are allergic to nuts, they will prepare yours at the back to avoid any potential cross contamination.
Fernando B — Google review
THE BEST CANNOLI I EVER ATE! I ate Cannolis at multiple cities in Italy , But Cannoli and Company are the winners! Uffff! A must try if you’re in Palermo. Their pistachio cannoli was out of the world!
Shreyaa S — Google review
classic cannoli was good choice. cannoli filled in front of you, mine was with ricotta cheese and I chose pistachio topping and sugar powder. I had cannoli before and this one was really good. Came on Monday before closing, so there was no queue. 3,20€ was the size I chose, there are bigger or smaller, with chocolate glaze or classic.

"I Segreti del Chiostro" is a hidden gem located within the Chiesa di Santa Caterina d'Alessandria, paying homage to the age-old tradition of crafting pastries in convents. The shop offers an array of traditional Sicilian treats such as cassata, cannoli filled with fresh ricotta cream, almond and pistachio cookies, and intricately hand-painted marzipan fruits.
It was an experience that I definitely can’t forget during our vacation in Palermo. It is very difficult to easily find here for someone who doesn’t hear. You enter through the door of a monastery, the attendants guide you and then you find the place you want to reach thanks to the smell of the bakery. I ate the most beautiful cannoli I’ve ever tasted in a perfect courtyard. I don’t want to talk too much so that the beauty of this place is not spoiled, but on the other hand, I want everyone to experience it 🥹Definitely recommended. PS: It is very possible that there is a queue.
Ş T — Google review
After seeing this place online we had to give it a try and I wasn’t disappointed! This cannoli is the BEST one I ever had that now I don’t want cannoli’s around where I live anymore lol. The line was about 15-20 min wait and like many say, you can share one because it’s so big. No place to really sit and eat at the garden because there’s lots of people doing the same thing. The system of lines is controlled and appreciated.
Krammer A — Google review
We joined the very long line at the famous I Segreti del Chiostro while in Palermo. This shop inside the Santa Caterina Monastery prepares pastries using ancient recipes passed down from the nuns. I tried the pistachio cannoli — crisp shell, creamy filling, and perfectly balanced sweetness, though for me it was massive (honestly, too big!). Staff were friendly and patient despite the line. Overall, a must-stop if you love authentic Sicilian pastries from an iconic institution. Saluti
Frank F — Google review
Probably was once only a local place, thanks to online reviews much busier. Waited almost 20 mins to order but it was worth it! Cannolo was HUGE and gratefully shared. I had to try the minne di virgini - very different with chocolate pieces inside and cloves and cinnamon flavors in a marzipan-like filling. We visited the church first and had a chance to see the monastery and climb to the rooftop, but this is not required to get to the dolceria.
Jessica R — Google review
Once you arrive at the entrance it’s a short walk up stairs and down the hallway. There was a line, it took 10-ish minutes and then you’re inside with your number. Once your number is called you quickly place your cannoli order and desserts. The process was too overwhelming for me personally but I think it’s a great place to try many Sicilian desserts for a fair price. The cannoli was too sweet for me, it’s also huge so I recommend splitting it between 2 people. The marzipan was really nice! The fountain area where one can sit was crowded. Overall a nice experience but one could also skip it if they’ve tried Sicilian desserts before
Nia M — Google review
If you want to eat at the “birthplace” of the cannoli, this is the place to come. Tasty desert, including cannoli’s and a lot of varieties of desserts. We went in off-season (middle of October) and there was a bit of queuing, but not terrible, 15-20 minutes of waiting. Queues are organized and it moves pretty fast. Also there is an interior garden to sit and enjoy the desert
Sanyes — Google review
Very unique location and ambiance. The cannolis here are big and well done but the filling is a little on the sweet side and not as delicate and creamy ricotta as those we had at top places in Catania. To us the Catania style was superior.
Michael S — Google review
Lovely cannolis. We grabbed one with pistachios and ate it in the small courtyard within the church. We waited in a line for around 5 minutes before a man at the door gave us a ticket with a number which the ladies call when it's your time to order. A very efficient system but make sure you know what you want to order quickly! €4 for the cannoli. You could definitely share with a friend! Would return.

Cioccolato di Modica Sabadì is a renowned chocolate shop located in the small Sicilian town of Modica. The traditional way of making their chocolate involves hand-grinding cacao and cold processing, resulting in a unique grainy texture and exceptional taste. Situated near the Duomo di San Giorgio, this award-winning shop offers an array of chocolates infused with various flavors like tobacco, pepper, and sea salt.
Amazing chocolate with a great service all around. Friendly, insightful, not pushy at all. And such a beautiful aesthetic! We were even offered some bitter to taste with the infused chocolate, which we really didn't expect. Just lovely. Would recommend 100%.
Ines K — Google review
Around 50 flavours of chocolate to taste from. The atmosphere was not inviting, I really think the assistant was knowledgeable, but some guidance would have been appreciated. It’s a good place to see what flavours you like. They sell mostly dark chocolate. The chocolate is not soft, due to no cocoa butter, it does not really melt in your mouth, it was crumbly and somehow dry. It’s interesting to feel the whole granules of sugar and pieces of rosemary, ginger and all sorts of herbs and spices
Rala R — Google review
What a gem to discover! Just by the impressive church a very distinctive and exclusive chocolate shop offering high quality stuff. Very tasty indeed .
Ilias P — Google review
Beautiful little chocolate shop with a huge range of their own chocolates. You can taste each flavour and there are ‘guides’ who explain the manufacturing process. A really nice experience.
Mark — Google review
High quality chocolate which won several « best chocolate in Modica » prizes. There is no cacao butter in their chocolate so you can have the real taste of chocolate without any fat. I recommend the infused chocolate with pepper or origan or tea, it is incredible. Also the peperoncino chocolate which is a classic one but still amazing. Grazie a Chiara for her kindness and for the explanations 🙏
Sandrine H — Google review
I tried the cinnamon and mandarin flavoured chocolate, and frankly, I couldn’t tell the difference between them. The chocolate flavour was dominant, with no discernible spice or additional taste. There were way too many flavours on display, for what it seems like a marketing machine. For example, they had milk chocolate, which completely missed the point of Modica’s chocolate in my opinion. The bars were also incredibly small, only 50g, and the packaging was super fancy. To top it off, they were very pricey, with no less than €4.50 per 50g bar. The staff was also off-putting. They made sure to emphasise that you could only get four free samples, as if I was there to try rather than buy. I suppose they know that at those prices, very few people can afford to buy more than a couple of bars at best.
Gerlando A — Google review
I can’t remember what we paid for a tour. Something around €40 I think it was. Not worth it at all. Very short and didn’t really learn a lot. The chocolate samples we got were free to anyone. We have a tiny bit of vermouth which was the only extra I guess.
Eddy — Google review
Beware. Lady charged us $32 euros for 3 chocolates. She said the eftpos was not working, obviously ripping off tourists and pocketing the money.

When you think of Sicilian cuisine, the "Cassata del Barone" stands out as a true emblem of indulgence and flavor. This delightful dessert, with its roots tracing back to Arabic and Latin influences, is a vibrant representation of abundance in both color and taste. The preparation is intricate, showcasing an array of fresh ingredients that come together harmoniously.
(Translated by Google) Entering this pastry shop makes you understand that you are in the right place, the scent and colors of the cassatas, but above all the smile of the two boys who work makes everything more special. Kind, thoughtful and always ready to advise you, they immediately point out that you can see that they love what they do. The real jewel of their counter is certainly the cassata, offered in different forms, by the glass or classic, it is clear that behind every cassata there is study, passion and a lot of love. A pastry shop like this is not easy to find!!!! super recommended!!!! Caffè Sicilia, a renowned establishment in Noto, is a must-visit for those craving authentic Sicilian pastries. Featured on Netflix's Chef's Table Pastry Season, this classic café on Corso Vittorio Emanuele offers an ideal setting to savor traditional treats like cannoli and cassata. With a history dating back to 1892, it stands as a symbol of Sicilian pastry-making excellence under the guidance of Master Confectioner Corrado Assenza.
Delicious granita, good coffee, and amazing brioche. Very short wait for a table inside. The lemon granita was as fresh as you imagine it can get, and the mulberry one was also great. The star was the brioche, which was pillowy, fresh, and just so good!
Malte H — Google review
The granita al limone was refreshing and natural. The brioche with gelato was good but you can find better options. The cannolo was outstanding. I was expecting a higher experience considering the famous. I’m nosy so sure if it’s worth the hype. The good point there was no waiting time. The service was quick but I had to stand up three times, asking menú, asking a knife and the check; but extra charged “for service”.
Brenda T — Google review
We were hesitant to try anything here because of all the negative reviews but wow the desserts here were better than anywhere else in Sicily. Not too sweet, creamy, and made with quality ingredients. I ordered a cappuccino with almond mouse (they sell espresso with almond mouse but they allowed me to put it on a cappuccino). The mango cake was especially delicious as was the Cassata.
D K — Google review
Amazing taste of all deserts and granita. Nowhere else we have tried so good granita, now I understand that in video what they were speaking about real granita. 11 out of 10!
Ivan O — Google review
Nice place with seating inside and outside. The decoration is refined and original decoration. The inside seating in an air-conditioned room is convenient, especially in a very hot day. We got granita tasting trio and ricotta pistachio gelato. They were tasty. You can taste the authentic products. We also got for takeaway Cassatina and Pistaccio e arancia. They were not good ! The Cassatina was extremely sweet and Pistaccio e arancia was ??? The service is very average… however the lady in charge of pastries and sweet is very nice and professional.
Sam B — Google review
If you go to Sicily and do not take time to visit the charming city from Noto, then you miss something! Caffe Sicilia is a unique place where the pastries are made for 4 generations and have the best raw products to make them tasty as it should be. We tried many things but the Cannoli deserved a special mention. While in Sicily I tried a lot of them and I tried can be better that this one! Atmosphere is great and Staff extremely friendly!
Chris L — Google review
The low rating is just for the price-quality ratio. The granita was alright, but nothing life-changing at all. And it costs 7 EUR!!!! That's just wild. I understand that you are seated at the table and in the center of Noto, but it's just crazy to charge so much for a granita (even crazier considering that it's just average quality). The staff was fast and nice, and the place seems really touristy and organized. Not my style, though.
Martín S — Google review
The place is beautiful. Right in the centre of Noto. The tables outside are beautiful too. However the croissant with chocolate they serve is not the real chocolate (made of chocolate powder and starch and then filled inside the croissant). I was extremely disappointed, mainly when you pay 20 euros for.a granita, 2 coffees and the croissant. We are not coming back and we don’t recommend. There are better places in Noto for a sweet breakfast.

Pasticceria Maria Grammatico is a renowned pastry shop in Sicily, founded by the eponymous Maria who learned her craft as a baker during her time as a cloistered nun. The shop, which has been thriving for over half a century, offers an array of delectable treats such as cassatelle, lingue di suocera, genovesi, fruit tarts, and cannoli.
Our tour of Sicily and the salt flats stopped here for a dessert tasting. Staff was very pleasant and the treats were delicious
Pamela P — Google review
Stopped by Maria Grammatico’s pastry shop in the morning while walking around Erice. It’s a small, quiet place with outdoor seating and a nice view — perfect for a cappuccino ☕ and something sweet This is a well-known bakery that’s been around since the 1960s, when Maria started it after learning how to make traditional Sicilian pastries from nuns I had a cassatina, a slice of ricotta cake, and a few small sweets. All were good, though a bit too sweet for my taste — but that’s typical of Sicilian desserts 😅. I noticed the place gets quite busy later in the day, with people lining up and buying pastries to take home as gifts A lovely local spot that’s definitely worth trying if you’re in Erice 💛.
NGAN P — Google review
Simply the best sweets in Sicily. Whatever you will pick you will be shocked by it's taste! Prices are OK, usually there is a line to get them but it's totally worth unless it goes out the shop which means like 1h + of wait. But if you got time do it, it's worth. Genovese is the main sweet here, but go ahead and try each one.
& R — Google review
Delicious pastries and coffee. Beautiful seating in an atrium garden. Tree provides shade. Pricing doesn't hurt your wallet. Staff helped me pick pastries. I give this place an autistic stamp of approval.
Kétis K — Google review
The desserts here were amazing – the pastries were still warm and incredibly tasty. However, I was quite surprised that the cappuccino was served in a plastic cup. I’ve never seen hot coffee like that before, and unfortunately, it was more like warm milk without any foam. A great place for sweets, but the coffee experience needs improvement.
Lina — Google review
Erice's best known and most Traditional Sicilian pastry shop with the personality of its founder Maria Grammatico following the convent recipes she learned while young when being raised at a Franciscan convent in Erice and expanded with new findings. Well known all over the world. The book she published, ' Bitter almonds' telling her memories and explaining her main recipes has become a classic, I bought the original version in English at the pastry shop, they also offer a translated Italian version. Very busy in season, but always a great place to enjoy Sicilian pastries with authentic local ingredients and a distinct personal touch, this shops helps to better understand the Sicilian universe of pastries and sweets with Greek, Roman, Byzantine, Norman, Arab, Spanish, especially from the convents and Swiss influences in what has come today a unique pastry culture in the world

Great option for pastry while in Erice. We were overwhelmed when we came in. It’s small and there are so many options, but we sat in the garden and our server came by and helped us pick out some things to try. Very cute and tasty!

Pasticceria Cappello is a renowned pastry shop located in the historic city center of Palermo. Originally opened as a dairy in the 1940s, it has evolved into a famous pastry shop known for its delectable creations.
This place was very busy on Christmas and for a reason, I saw so many beautiful pastry platters arranged in front of my eyes each more enticing than the other. Draw a number at the entrance and wait for your turn, order, pay at the cashier and pick up your carefully packed sweets. Sfogliata with ricotta was my favourite, super crispy layers and balanced ricotta cream. The pistachio petit fours was also amazing. House chocolate bars with pistachio and other nuts or dried fruit also available at the cashier desk.

Delicious pastries! The tiny gelato sandwich and delizia pistachio cake were so tasty. And the cannolicchio was perfect! Great coffee too.
Julia W — Google review
After trying many cannolis in Palermo, I can confidently say this was by far the best. In addition to their amazing cannolis, we sampled a variety of mignons and an iris — and everything was absolutely perfect. The atmosphere was wonderful too, filled with local workers grabbing a quick bite and kids returning from school, which made it feel genuinely authentic. The host was incredibly warm and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. We had food elsewhere in Palermo that was half as good for twice the price. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone visiting — I honestly wish I could eat here every day.
Lovrog0 — Google review
While the cakes themselves were nice, the man who served us was rude. Obnoxious clearly into his phone more than serving us and being somewhat stuck up with my friend's best attempt to speak Italian seemingly consistently misunderstanding which cake she wanted, one or two pieces of. He then proceeded to play with his phone as he was half wrapping our package and generally seemed just annoyed at our existence. The taste of cakes was definitely not worth the attitude that we were given in this place

Great place for a coffee and something to nibble. Amazing croissants with pistachios and the best arancini in the city. I highly recommend arancini with carne (beef).

Pasticceria Cappello is truly the best sweet shop in Palermo. The quality of their baked goods is outstanding, and I absolutely love it. Every time I stay in Palermo, this place makes me fall in love with the city even more. I ended up going there every day to enjoy their delicious cakes and pastries. Highly recommended!

Local cafe/pastry shop. Came here to check if it’s actually the best cannoli in Palermo. Maybe in Palermo it may be the best but i’ve had better. Everyone may like their cannolis in many ways. Their cannoli was different. Did taste authentic. Coffee was good. Service was good, staff were friendly. The best part is this shop is local so the prices are not that expensive. 1 cannoli & a coffee for 2.5 euro! They have alot of variety I would visit again! Highly recommend.

Nestled in the picturesque Ragusa Ibla, Biancomangiare is a delightful culinary gem that captures the essence of Sicilian cuisine. This charming eatery boasts an inviting outdoor patio where guests can savor a variety of delectable dishes while soaking in views of the stunning Cathedral of San Giorgio. The menu features an array of local favorites, including gourmet sandwiches and daily pasta specials like paccheri con ragu e speck, all at wallet-friendly prices.
Super tasty, quality food at affordable prices. The location can’t be beat, you get to eat while gawking at the majestic Cathedral of San Giorgio! For such a prime location, the service is friendly and you get a lot of bang for your buck. There’s a delicious sampler board to share, they say it’s for two but you could easily stretch it to 3 or 4 people if you add a few arancini to the mix. And you definitely should because the pistachio arancini is the best I had in Sicily!

We came back again and again! The food and desserts here were so tasty, and great value for money! The service was lovely too. Would recommend the veg platter of traditional Ragusa food, as well as the pistachio icecream. This restaurant was a real highlight of our trip!

Wonderful food at great prices. Simple, not the most elegant but yet tasty decor and food. Couldn’t have made a better choice for lunch! I would eat here again anytime, and I’m sure it’s a choice of locals. Wonderful selection of granite, excellent cafe, and the pasta was absolutely perfect. They have a daily menu along with their regular menu which includes gourmet sandwiches. I chose a pasta of the day for 10 euro, paccheri con ragù e speck. I was too hungry to take photos of the food. But trust me; it was delicious!

Very honest people here! Excellent service! I wanted to pay but they informed me that my wife had already paid (and she went off first). And very patient to explain to me the food in english.

In the main path of all tourists, it is always hard to find good food for a fair price; too many restaurants just don’t care, as most customers won’t come back anyway. This one does care, it seems! We liked the food and the service was good too.

Right on the old square beneath the cathedral making it a very picturesque place to stop for a bite to eat. But the Arancini is the star of the show, very tasty, very good, very nice.

Gelateria Al Cassaro is a popular ice cream parlor located near Piazza della Repubblica, attracting gelato enthusiasts of all ages. Their ice creams are made without hydrogenated fats and come in a variety of flavors such as ricotta, pistachio, and Marsala. Additionally, they offer delicious granitas along with cannoli, crepes, and waffles.
We were surprised by the friendly service we got here. We never had a Sicilian dessert and so we ordered their cassata gelato with some chocolate gelato (I think it was bacio) in a brioche. Best gelato choices ever! The combo with the brioche sounded very unique to us; we’ve never seen anything quite like it back in our home country. We greatly enjoyed every bite. Thank you so much for adding some positivity to our one-day stay in Palermo!

We've had the most amazing pistaccio and peanut icecream in a brioche. The price is more than fair for the big portion you will get. We came here at least once a day on our five day trip in Palermo. The best flavors we had: Pistaccio, Peanut, Hazelnut and dark chocolate.
Jujux — Google review
Best ice cream i ever had!! And so many vegan options! I enjoyed this gelato every day! My favorites were dark chocolate and black cherry! And the prices were fair! Loved it! ❤

Recently popped by on a trip to Palermo after reading great reviews and being an avid gelato enthusiast! I tried one with chocolate cookies/biscuits and Hazelnut. Both these were very good! there were plenty of crunchy biscuits in the former, adding great texture and flavour! The hazelnut flavour also came through very strong in the latter. There are seats outside where you can enjoy your gelato 🙂

Bar La Sorgente is a delightful gem that showcases the best of Sicilian pastry, particularly renowned for its cannoli and cassatelle. The cannolo, often hailed as the king of Sicilian desserts, features a crispy fried shell filled with fresh ricotta and can be enhanced with various ingredients like candied orange peel or chocolate chips. Originally crafted for carnival celebrations, this treat has become a beloved staple in Italian cuisine worldwide.
One of the best patisseries you will find in the Trapani province. Cassatella is a must here, trays with warm ones always available just off the frier. Great selection of other sicilian pastries too. I recommend the Genovese with cream or ricotta and the flavour rum ricotta peach. If you prefer savoury dishes, they offer an entire selection of panini, arancini, pizzette, calzoni, etc. The downside here is the long wait at the cashier due to the popularity of the place.
Eugenio S — Google review
If you want to experience the chaotic yet organised Sicilian busy pastry shop experience , then this is your spot. Open the whole day , this shop provides great quality pastries as well as nice savoury sandwiches and great breakfast croissants. Everyone seems very hard working and they keep up with a huge workload daily. Hats off to them as they are doing a great job. It is very informal and rustic ( you might even witness a fight between staff members while coping with a busy service , but hey, this is the proper cafè experience). High recommended for quality Sicilian food !!

Dolce capo is a wonderful ice cream shop in Palermo that stocks some of the best ice cream in all of Sicily. The flavours are truly amazing, and the staff are always happy to offer you a sample before you buy. If you're ever in Palermo, be sure to visit Dolce Capo!
The BEST gelato in Palermo…maybe Sicily! You won’t be disappointed. Fresh, authentic flavors. Perfect consistency. Very friendly staff. A high end gelato store in Scottsdale Arizona suggested this was the best place to go. We were so happy we listened to them.

Hands down the best gelato I’ve ever had in my life, I tried several other places across Italy and this was the best one. I ended up returning here 5 times over 3 days. Try to get the croissant with gelato when it’s fresh, unreal. My favorite flavors were mango, raspberry, fig, and dark chocolate, but the pistachio seems to be their specialty and did smell amazing

The fondente was fine, not great, not terrible (3.6? :P), definitely closer to 'great' than 'terrible'. The vanilla was fine, but again not 'wow'. I liked the pistachio. Overall, good enough, it's one of the best gelaterias in Palermo, and so we came back for more. The first time we came here, we felt a bit confused, as the staff seemed to be playing around with us a bit? That would have been whatever, but I ordered fondente and got stracciatella instead. The second time, all was fine though. Something very nice is that, whenever you order something, you get a free sample of another flavour that you didn't choose.

Upon entering the cozy establishment, visitors are greeted by the delightful aroma of freshly baked pastries. The friendly and knowledgeable staff enhance the experience, making it even more enjoyable. The crispy, golden shells of their cannoli are filled with a heavenly ricotta filling that steals the show.
Ordered Mezze maniche artigianali alla Norma which is handmade short pasta with tomato, fried eggplant, basil, and ricotta salata - and it was delicius! The pasta was perfectly cooked, and the wine Il Principe Rallo was a good combo that they recommended to me. Nothing to complain about here, they are very friendly both chef and servers. I recommend this place.

Lovely, slightly larger cafè and restaurant on a very pleasant commercial street, an extension of Via Emmanuelle towards the bay. Wonderful coffees and pastries, and a nice looking but simple menu with a little something for everyone, including salads. I went back to try their Caesar Salad and it was terrific; lots of most chicken, crispy lettuce and the right amount of tasty dressing. Has both indoor and outdoor seating. They take care of you with good service and good food!

Nestled in the heart of Palermo, Le Granite di Nonna Angelina is a vibrant gem that specializes in delightful granita. This charming spot offers an impressive array of 24 flavors, including standout options like tart pomegranate and zesty lemon. Each spoonful delivers a refreshing taste reminiscent of real iced fruit, perfectly complemented by their buttery brioche. The warm atmosphere is enhanced by friendly staff who may only speak Italian but are eager to assist you with your choices.
This place was hands down the best granita we had in all of Sicily. We kept coming back here every day we were in Palermo. It’s the perfect size and consistency, and at a reasonable price. We tried several different flavours but the best is definitely lemon. There are a couple of small tables outside where you can sit, and it is a very small shopfront inside. The people who run it (nonnos and nonnas) are very kind.

If you are looking for original sicilian granita go there! It has his old charme (the eldery gentleman is great)with friendly only Italian speaking service but they are lovely and trying to help the best they can you have so many granita flavours: lemon, peach, Indian fig cactus, Watermelons, orange, mint, and many many more (24 flavours!!) see in my photos all of them. They are so delicious like you eating a real iced fruit! Please give it a try it's absolutely great and tasty one granita costs 3€. We tasted peach, Indian fig, watermelon, lemon (sour!!) all were fantastic Highly recommend!

Wow. We were impressed. This gelateria didn't look famous, but the granite is just great. We loved the taste of the granite. Every granite is based on fresh fruits. We tried limone, frutti di Bosco, pistachio and mandolore.

The Arancini are great. Good place to give it a try. Also the owner was super friendly.

We've had many granitas in Sicily and this one was disappointing. The Amarena one did not taste like real cherry at all and gave us lips as pink as my color changing lip gloss would. There were big pieces of ice in it too. Also the portion size was smaller than anywhere else for 3€. The service was hectic and had the old gentleman not intervened we'd also have gotten our order later, than the people who came after us.

La Dolceria di Santa Caterina is a charming pastry shop nestled within the Santa Caterina Monastery, offering a wide array of delectable treats. The bakery's location next to the church provides an enchanting setting for indulging in these delightful pastries, and guests can also explore the monastery's beautiful courtyard while enjoying their treats.
We were 10min before opening, and we had to wait in the line already :) the place is amazing, the canoli are delicious with great fresh taste. The place has also other sweet options as well, but canoli are the stars. Bug as human palm. You can eat what you bought in a beautiful garden. Really recommend the place.
Maciej C — Google review
The best Canoli in Palermo! The service is a bit strange though. You get a ticket but it took me a while to understand that you must stand to the left & wait for your number to be called. A bit chaotic but understandable given the number of people waiting in line. The canoli and coffee in the courtyard though really made up for the chaos though!
Thomas B — Google review
Probably the best Cannoli in Palermo! Freshly made, filled with the Ricotta cheese just before serving, with the toppings of your choice! Big queue every time I came speaks for itself too! Worth the wait. Service was quite chaotic though, upon entering you receive a number and your number is supposed to be called, however the first time I went there, there was no number calling and people were queuing to order and then queuing to pay as well. It took me a while to understand what to do.
Barbara N — Google review
Very historical dulcería. Long queue until you enter, and the staff doesn’t speak English unfortunately . The yard of the monastery is BEAUTIFUL, and you can enjoy your cannoli there! The taste of the things we ordered were good and fresh, but not something that you will remember for ever, and the prices are higher than they should be. Trademark for Palermo.
Dim J — Google review
A local recommended trying the cannoli at the Monastery of Santa Caterina in Palermo — supposedly made following an old recipe from the nuns who lived there. I loved the idea and the story behind it. The place is beautiful, full of atmosphere and tradition. But to be honest: the cannoli itself was way too sweet for my taste. I could barely finish two bites. The filling was overwhelmingly sugary, and the flavor got lost between the dense ricotta cream and the crunchy shell. I expected a more balanced taste, but it all kind of blended into just “sweet.
Ksenia — Google review
Delicious cannoli!!! The shell is so fresh and the cream inside too. We also got the strawberry granita, a marzipan shaped peach, and a ricotta filled pastry (tasted like a sugar cookie exterior). All were delicious and the courtyard to enjoy them in is beautiful. Great spot to see some real history and get a delicious, well-made treat.
Angelina C — Google review
After eating cannoli throughout Sicily, this really was the best cannoli we tried (maybe ever). We arrived after lunch, and there was a queue but as other reviews have noted - they are well organised and things move quickly. The space of the bakery is extremely special and the walls are adorned with ceramics. The cannoli was delicious - not overly sweet at all and the ricotta inside is light and airy. After you get your cannoli, I recommend you sit in the courtyard. It is adorned with fruit trees and is a very special place. A must try in Palermo.
Sarah P — Google review
Personally, I don’t get the hype. The staff were cold and unwelcoming—no smiles, no warmth - It felt awkward even trying to take a photo. The vibe was off and uncomfortable. As for the cannolis, they’re overrated. The shell is decent, but the filling is excessive—way too much cream, with a few chopped toppings stuck on each end. It feels like a social media trend people blindly follow. If you're taking it to go, they wrap it well, but the cream still gets everywhere and turns into a mess. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this place.

The property features a library, terrace, and offers bike rentals for guests to explore the area. The Mediterranean-style affittacamere provides direct access to the sea and boasts light, minimalist colors. Owners Sabrina and Claudia are dedicated to ensuring an unforgettable stay with their warmth and hospitality.
My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon and our stay was nothing short of magical. The location was fantastic--right on the sea and we went swimming in it every day. It also was a great spot to do day trips to different Sicilian towns. The breakfasts were amazing and everyone there was so kind. We loved watching the moon rise over the waves and the sun rise each morning. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to visit Sicily. We can't wait to come back one day!

Looking for an authentic stay near Ortigia? Look no further than Giuggiulena, a small family run hotel hosted by the vivacious and very lovely sisters Sabrina and Claudia to exacting standards. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and meticulous, and once the shopping or site seeing has cessated you can swim in the sea from Giuggiulena's steps. Breakfast is a delight, taken on the terrace overlooking the bay with a full range of local produce, homemade cakes and pastries all freshly prepared daily by the wonderfully accomplished chef Claudia. Sabrina is an icon and nothing less than fantastic, open, warm and eager for you to have the best stay possible, suggesting many things to do during your stay. There is no better place to be in this region and if you haven't yet stayed at Giuggiulena I would urge you to do so.

An absolute slice of paradise, we stayed here for 4 days and would give anything for it to be longer. Sabrina and Claudia are so welcoming and hospitable, we felt very taken care of. The setting is magical, so quiet, only the waves crashing. Being steps from the water was magical too. Breakfast was delicious and something new each morning! We also arranged for dinner one evening which was wonderful. Beds are comfortable, rooms are climate controlled, and the location cannot be beat, we cannot wait to come back again!

This is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. It’s beautifully situated right on the water, with a rooftop patio and steps leading to the sea. Breakfast was delicious. And the hosts, Sabrina and Claudia, couldn’t have been nicer. Sabrina drove us into Ortigia one evening and Claudia shared recipes with us for some of the delicious items we had a breakfast. We’re already planning our return trip!

This little hidden gem needs to be explored by everyone visiting Sicily.. away from city’s hustle bustle this is located in quiet streets of Siracusa.. comfortable walk away from main island of Ortigia.. Be prepared for the warmest welcome by the hosts.. Elisa.. Sabrina.. Claudia who by the way cooks the most delicious breakfast every morning.. and she’s such an amazing baker 🙌 The design and comfort of the rooms is impeccable.. you will find each and everything you could possibly need! For us it was “Home Away Home” Given an opportunity I could become their resident guest and train with Claudia 🤪 Majestic sea views.. rocky access to the beach with all gears available that you might need! Our room had the most magnificent sunrise views.. safe and secure streets so you can walk around anytime.. Siracusa walking path is just 300 mts away.. Nutshell.. it’s a place to be added in everyone’s itinerary.. and make sure to book in time coz this home has limited rooms with personalised service ❣️

My mum and I had the most memorable stay in this beautiful waterfront B&B, from the minute we arrived everything was perfect. Claudia and Sabrina the hosts were so helpful and welcoming, our room was big and bright with direct views onto the water and the breakfast was to die for. We went swimming everyday straight from steps at the back of the hotel, we watched sunset and sunrise from our balcony and enjoyed the large roof terrace in the evenings. Everything was divine, I can’t wait to come back! We loved it!

We enjoyed our stay here for two days with our family on a Sicilian vacation. We would definitely stay here again. Notable positives included wonderful & responsive staff; value; large, bright, sunny well laid out rooms; remarkably cleanliness; lots of closet & storage space; excellent bathroom and shower; quiet location, tremendous sea views, and included breakfast. Only negatives were difficult parking (staff solved that for us) and the in-room safe was broken. Bottom line - a great place to stay.

From the classic lemon and refreshing mulberry to unique options like pistachio and coffee topped with fresh cream, there’s something for every palate.
Brand new spot in town to taste amazing granita's Since it is recently open, it is possible to enjoy a tasting round of basically all flavors. Do not miss it ;) My favorite is mandorla tostata (roasted almond), chocolate from Modica and... mango, incredibly tasty and pure from biologic Sicilian mangos (all true!)

So friendly staff. The sobert was refreshing and not too sweet! I had green apple (which was recommended by the staff and was not ok the menu) and orange. Perfect for hot weather.

Great granita, especially the mango flavor. Lady behind the counter was also super nice.

The granitas were very good (especially toasted almond!) and the service nice. However, the bun was from a plastic bag (but with a nice orange flavor) and the cream was not good at all - it was from a machine, very liquid and with artificial taste.

Pasticceria Savia is a historic patisserie that has been serving delectable sweet treats, pastries, and savory snacks since 1897. Located on the lively Via Etnea street, it offers an intimate dining experience with terrace seating. The highlight of their menu is the colossal arancini - deep-fried rice fritters filled with tender ragu, cheese, or butter.
The granita is fabulous and they do a mignon brioche which is so cute. Pistachio and fragola granita were outstanding and came with proper panna. The pistachio cornettos are not to my taste overly large and well stuffed but with a pistachio custard, they just are not remotely tasty and not worth it particularly if sitting down and paying the excess. All the cakes were delicious. Average cannoli. Very good arancini also. The staff are lovely particularly the men at the bar and a clean bathroom is kept. Recommmeded.
Dee — Google review
Go early in the morning for the freshly hand-made cannoli. I usually have to take them outside to eat, because the wait for a empty table can be long in the busy season. If you have the time eat them at a table with a nice expresso. The green filled cannoli's are my favorites, I always miss that great taste when I do find one in a Paris bakery.
Device 2 — Google review
I LOVED this cafe. Yes, it was very busy and hard to find a table…. But that’s for good reason. They have great pastries at great prices. I didn’t try their savory, but I’m sure it is also very good. I got their cannoli and a large rum baba filled with pastry cream. Both fantastic! The cannoli had a lighter shell than most I had, which didn’t really make it better or worse in my mind. Just different. The rum baba- oh wow. So delicious! Super moist and flavorful. It’s huge for the price too.

If you want to experience the real Sicily — where tradition, flavor, and soul come together — Savia in Catania is the place to go. From the moment you step inside, the aroma of freshly fried arancini fills the air — golden, crisp on the outside, and perfectly creamy within. These aren’t just snacks; they’re a piece of Sicilian history, made just as they should be. Every bite reminds you that you’re tasting the original, authentic flavor that locals have loved for generations. And it doesn’t stop there. For something sweet, pair a soft, buttery brioche with the rich, velvety granita — the perfect Sicilian breakfast duo. Add a strong espresso, and you’ll understand why this region’s culinary traditions are so revered. At Savia, every flavor feels like it’s feeding your soul. It’s not just food — it’s heritage, passion, and love served on a plate. Whether you come for the arancino or stay for the dessert, this is a stop no true food lover should miss in Catania.

This place was recommended to us. Busy with locals, it’s a great place to grab an arancini or cannoli. Get yourself in line to pay first, then wait for your ticket number to be called.

Loved the granita (chocolate and pistachio) and the brioche buns here, super soft with a lovely hint of citrus. We ended up coming back twice just for the granita and brioche! The arancini catanese was good, though the pistachio one was a bit bland despite being freshly made. The wait for a table can take a bit, but the waiters were kind.
Sunny N — Google review
It was recommended to me by my hotel. It was a very good selection of tasty Sicilian food like Arancini, Croissant, sweets, coffee, any many more. I really liked the Cafe al Ginsing, Spinach Arancini, and Pistachio Croissant. Just one drawback is that as this is very popular place, there is sometimes a waiting queue where people sometimes need to stand for say 20mins in peak hours, but it is worth it. Waiters service is good and they speak English. Card payments are accepted.

Far too much sugar. We were looking forward to try a cannoli in Sicily and this was a recommended place. We are not big Sweet lovers but we love to try new sweets and pastries when we travel. This was far too much sugar on it. If you like your sugar you will love it! If not keep away! We feel a bit less sugar would let the ricotta and the fruit flavour to pop up a bit more. The staff makes this place really nice! 3 stars only because the overdose of sugar!

Laboratorio is better...there, I said it! I love to join a crowd. Most of the time, it works out as well as 19yo Arnold Schwarzenegger's first muscle bulging contest. I can't say this was a fail. My cannolo was pretty good. It wasn't even the usual coma sweet...only punch drunken. Only thing is, I chose it because everything else looked about as tempting as a hot chocolate at the beach. And I'm a guy that will finish a coma inducing cannolo, at speed, so I don't pass out before I finish it. I will take another swing and update. I did. If anything I'd lower my rating. Cassatta is good, not great. The stuffed and soaked red stale don't thing would be great, if I still smoked pot. Nothing wrong with it. But laboratorio 5 minutes away is way better.

Antica Dolceria Bonajuto is a renowned chocolatier in Sicily, offering a variety of dark chocolate bars and pastries for take-away or outdoor enjoyment. The traditional method of production involves grinding cacao beans on a curved stone and creating cacao paste without any additional preservatives, fat, artificial flavors, or mechanized labor. This pure approach to chocolate-making is rare but still practiced at Antica Dolceria Bonajuto.
The service was really great. They were helpful and provided lots of samples to help us make our choice. The chocolate was definitely more bitter than normal because of the higher cacao content but we really enjoyed it and all the variations. Got three bars, some hot chocolate and a chocolate cake piece. The chocolate cake was delicious. The shop is down a side street but ample signage.

You have to visit this place if you’re a chocolate lover. It’s a little bit different than the chocolate that people are used to, but it’s still great. A must go for a chocolate lover! Chocolate in Modica is different, they make it as ancient recipes mixing only cacao paste and sugar, therefore it doesn’t melt in the mouth but create a totally different experience! It tastes wonderful! And with many different flavors! The cassatina allo cioccolato is very very good!

After a long cycle and facing yet another hill ahead, I was grateful to stumble across this spot in Modica. A little slice of Sicilian heaven, and a must-visit for anyone passing through.

A bit of a loud and confusing place, with multiple lines and a lot of shouting to order. But it works, and you get your order very quickly. We ordered a cold chocolate milk and a chocolate granita. I particularly enjoyed the chocolate milk, and I found the chocolate granita to be fine as well. For my girlfriend's taste, it was slightly too bitter, but for my taste, it was good.

We came here for the chocolate Making tour, as well as to buy Modica Chocolate. We would highly recommend, the tour is very informative, hands on (such as cracking a cocoa bean and tasting it) as well as getting a behind the scenes look on how the world's most loved bean is harvested. The chocolate is also delicious. Tour offered also in English which was very clear and detailed.

Came across this lovely little spot while strolling down the main street. The authentic Italian-style bakery immediately caught my attention and it did not disappoint! The lady behind the counter was so friendly and kindly explained the different types of pastries. I went with the almond paste , and she even showed me another almond variation. The pastry was absolutely delicious. Mildly sweet, perfectly gooey on the inside, and filled with that wonderful aroma of almond ☺️

The cannoli are tasty, however I feel we were “tricked” by the labelling of the almond pastry. The label simply has “2 Euros” so we assumed it was per weight as most pastries are in Italy. The attendant kept encouraging us to buy the almond pastry for family and friends etc. When we got to the cashier, she whispered the total price was “109 Euros”’ for 3 boxes of almond pastry, 2x cannolis & 2x bottles of water. 😳 it was too late by then, they differently take advantage of tourists!! I bet she whispered the price because she didn’t want the other customers to hear!!! BEWARE OF THE ALMOND PASTRIES THE SHOP ATTENDANTS WILL KEEP TELLING YOU TO TRY IT. THEY NEED TO CHANGE THEIR PRICE LABEL TO MAKE IT CLEAR ITS 2 EURO PER PEIECE. Taking advantage of tourists is not acceptable

This shop hides like a sand crab at midday. But inside, you feel the quality pour from the cabinets, like the uvb rays that make me look 10 years younger and older simultaneously. It's all a bit sweet for my taste, except the sfogliatelle (lobster tails) that sing like a fat lady on stage. But I'm in sicily, that's how they roll. The granita is lovely too. Get here, do it.

Bar D'Ambra is a charming pasticceria located in Lipari, offering a delightful setting to enjoy various moments of the day. From breakfast to aperitivo, and even merenda, this artisanal spot provides a tranquil haven with picturesque views of the port. Guests can savor delicious granitas, coffee, and treats like brioche con gelato while watching dive boats and local children at the harbor. The establishment occasionally features live music for added entertainment.
Had the best granita and a brilliant sandwich here. Great location on the harbour. Went back on another day for another granita it was so good.

Lovely location for a snack and drink after a long day walking. Nice views, quite quiet but service is speedy and friendly. 5 stars for a small board of snacks and zero cover charge. That's a huge positive and so offering a tip was a pleasure rather than having it taken from you even if the service is bad. Other restaurant owners take note. Grazie 🇮🇹

Surprise yourself in the late afternoon when you just order a beer and a lemon granita and the staff also bring you a bowl of olives some nuts crisps and some mini pizzas or another little snack on the house. Look at the photos. It's really relaxing to sit and watch dive boats go in and out with a nice cappuccino, and see some of the local children catching an octopus from the harbour in front of you. They occasionally they have live music here. Nice views, nice staff and you can write home about the lemon granitas

Our favourite pit stop in Lipari! Tucked away in an alley, away from all the chaos around Marina Corta, they offer a tranquil haven to enjoy some wonderful coffee. There are also plenty of treats to tempt you, including the Sicilian favourite "brioche con gelato" (ice cream sandwich).

Cute spot on the water with boats bobbing and water gently waving back and forth. Service is quick, they take credit cards, and the desserts and drinks we had were yummy. I thought the “deconstructed” Cannoli would be interesting but best to stick with the original.

There’s no better place in San Vito lo Capo. BEST pistachio gelato and at a very fair price. And attended by their owner, who the 4 times we went, greeted us with a big smile. I’m happy I had a delicious gelato and to support local places like these ones.

Best ice cream in town but lack of staff and consideration towards people that have to wait during their meal break, sometimes for 1 hour or more. With all the customers coming, they might just hire someone to keep the shop open during peak times and reduce the waiting. 4 stars only because of that. Ice cream is really good and worth it!

The gelateria has been an established presence for many years and prides itself on crafting high-quality gelato with creative twists.

Nice place to sit in the square but there are way better granita in Sicily. I understand the nice reviewers because of its location. In the beginning they did not treat us very kindly but later when we asked to fill the water it was better. Still we can’t give it a better review because of the quality of the stuff. Perhaps for a glass of wine it would have been better but I would not go back for what we had

This place absolutely enchanted me with its jasmine ice cream! 🤩 There's nothing like it! I've never seen jasmine ice cream anywhere else in Italy. If anyone has, please let me know! 😋 It's like an Yves Rocher perfume, like the scent of jasmine melting on your palate in a summery setting. 😍🤪 We also tried it with onions, beets, and olive oil. It was so interesting! Trying these is something you should do at least once in your life.

This is the best gelato in Sicily and possibly all of Italy. There chocolate orange was super smooth, packed with flavour and not overly sweet, it’s the best chocolate orange I have had anywhere in the world. The gelato here is so good I went back and kept getting 3 scoop tubs until I had tried out their full range. Malaga was also like no other Malaga gelato Iv had and the raising in it were magical, and I’m not a Malaga or raising fan. Everything from this place is different to anything you have tasted before with lots of very unique combinations pumpkin with a crumble. If your in Sicily and a gelato / ice cream lover this is somewhere you HAVE to visit even if it’s just for the gelato. They staff are super nice and friendly also speaking English . Le Cuspidi is a delightful ice cream shop in the very touristy town of Agrigento. The pistachio flavoured ice cream is simply delicious, and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Despite being very popular with tourists, the shop never feels overcrowded or claustrophobic.
We got a break in Le Cuspidi and enjoyed a really good moment. There is a great choice of homemade gelaterias, so tasty and with large portions served into a local sweet bun. Wow. 0 negatives? Again first for our Sicily trip… The place was packed with locals, authentic and amazing to be in a premium gelateria. Cost? €2.50 for a cono, I think you can get 1/2/3 scoops all for the same price and as for the portion… well I was blown away at the cost of the cone and the portion size. One cone is plenty for two but with how amazing the Strawberry and Lemon was we had to go back and try two other flavours, coffee and chocolate nut. Just perfect gelato, my only regret was not getting another lemon cone as the contrast between our first and second cone was too much. Hoping to go here again today on our way through Agrigento as a detour is very much worth it.

When you find yourself in Castelbuono, a visit to Fiasconaro is an absolute must. This charming pasticceria, located on the main street leading to the castle, offers a delightful array of sweet treats that will tantalize your taste buds. With two stores facing each other, one specializes in festive Christmas breads while the other showcases an impressive selection of desserts.
Oh mio Dio! This shop immediately caught our eye as we entered the historical center from Piazza Margherita, with their enticing display out front, featuring panettone paired with various spreads. The staff member was incredibly friendly and let us sample almost all of their flavors. We were so impressed that we returned after dinner for some gelato and to purchase their delectable spreads. We had the famous Palermitano Sette Veli and hazelnut, and they were both heavenly. They're also renowned for their Manna hazelnut spread, made with Manna, a natural resin derived from the Madonie ash trees. Highly recommend!

This isn’t just a "famous name" – Fiasconaro truly lives up to its reputation. A fantastic pastry shop offering excellent coffee and outstanding desserts. We tried their signature panettone served with a variety of spreads – the pistachio cream was absolutely delicious. We also sampled a traditional local dessert, Testa di Turco – rich, creamy, and unforgettable, somewhat similar to crème brûlée but with a Sicilian twist. Great atmosphere and top-quality service. If you’re anywhere near Castelbuono, don’t miss it – this is a sweet experience worth going out of your way for.
Veronika — Google review
This is "The Shop" of world-famous Fiasconaro empire, with their flagship café, pasticeria, gelateria, and shops congregating around Fontana di Piazza Margherita at the center of the town of Castelbuono. Many renowned European pastry/dessert brands maintain a shop in their town of origin (like Pasticceria Veneto of Iginio Massari in Brescia), with surprisingly reasonable prices and generous service by proud local staff. Perhaps that's their way of honoring their roots, and this place is no exception. Here, they offer a huge range of Sicilian bakeds goods and others not found elsewhere, and in addition they liberally share samples of panettone or colomba. At the café, the queen on the menu in our opinion is panettone con gelato, where a voluminous portion of their signature Panettone Tradizionale comes with well-paired scoops of gelato. Granita might not have creamy texture but has attractive flavors and not overly sweet. Cannolo, Cassata and other Sicilian specialties also pack well-balanced flavors and textures. The shop across the street from the café stocks pretty much all Fiasconaro offerings of the season, at lower prices. The unboxed versions of panettone or colomba are excellent deals. Bring empty suitcases! To summarize, Pasticceria Fiasconaro of Castelbuono is an almost magical place that transports the guests beyond those pretty boxes in upscale department stores and into a land of bountiful charms that somehow successfully merges both provincial Sicilian character and refined elegance. A pilgrimage destination for all pastry & dessert lovers.

This place on its own makes your visit to Castelbuono worth it ( not that the town doesn’t deserve it, because it’s a very lovely town). Everything we tried was absolutely delicious. From panetone to gelato and even their coffee. Please don’t miss it, just come here if you are around. On top of everything, the stuff was super nice, they even gifted a mini panetone to our daughter.

Absolutely a treat and such an amazing experience ❤️ I know the brand already from before but being in their (coffee)shop was another level of joy. We had free samples, so fresh, delicious. The cornettino with pistachio cream was from heaven, also the one with tomato and mozzarella was quite fresh and interesting. Got panettone with us home and was super fresh and delicious 🌟 a huge plus that we can buy all the delicious stuff without packaging because then less garbage if it’s not for a present. In general, every person who enjoys a good panettone or colomba has to visit this place at least once 😍😍😍🌟🌟👏

This little spot surprised me, I was ready to overpay and eat poorly for the view which is incredible and would be worth it but here the prices are not so high and the food is good! I enjoyed the cornetto and cappuccino both great with freshly squeezed orange juice it made a wonderful breakfast with a glorious view. The ice cream at Don Peppinu I Marina di Ragusa is truly exceptional, some of the finest I've ever tasted. The roasted salted pistachio flavor comes highly recommended. The interior can get quite busy, but the ordering process is straightforward: choose your desired number of scoops at the counter to the left, pay at the till, receive a numbered ticket and wait for your number to appear on the screen.
Delicious ice cream and cannoli offer an authentic taste of Italy, particularly the Bronte pistachio flavor.

Didn’t get the hype about this place. Felt like a tourist trap. Both gelato and granita are extremely sweet, we couldn’t finish them. Granita tasted like artificial slush. A huge selection of interesting flavors to choose from, what a shame that all you taste is just pure sugar. Signs outside with awards and queues raise your expectations and then it’s such a disappointment. Not worth the calories. The service is friendly and they even spoke a few words in Maltese. We tasted strawberry granita, pistachio, hazelnut, ricotta and caramelized figs, mulberry gelato.

Differs a lot depending on the flavours you take. Chocolate for eg, salted caramel, coconut were very good, but cheesecake with red fruit and tiramisu were extremely sweet and had an artificial taste (the cheesecake especially) Friendly and quick service

various flavours of ice cream including arabica, chocolate with chilli, salted caramel or three kind of pistachio. I like that the descriptions were in English too. Sorry, the ice cream was too good to take picture of.

Very nice plase with warm and supportive staff. Despite being closed until 7 PM, they agreed to prepare food for us as we just arrived and were very hungry. Food was tasty, price is good, very nice service and friendly atmosphere. Thank you!

Very nice Granita, we tried strawberry, chocolate, lemon and pistachio. All are very recommendable. Friendly and patient staff while we tried to communicate in our few words of Italian even though they also speak english. Nice looking gelato too! We didn't try the gelato but witnessed the happy faces of other customers after trying their first spoon of the gelato. Also: the lady serving our granita washed her hands after our cash payment. Should be the standard but people mostly touch dirty money first and then touch the food. So we wanted to point out that in this shop everything was really clean. They also write out all allergens. All in all very friendly staff, good granita, clean shop and nice decor. 10/10 would recommend.

Gran Cafè Solaire is a charming spot just a short walk from the sea in Acitrezza, offering an intense and pure pistachio granita that stands out. The place has affordable prices and a diverse menu with delicious arancini. While the service could be improved, they offer unique granita flavors like fig, cantaloupe, pomegranate, and blood orange.
We’ve been to this café during out vacation, and it was hands down the absolute best ice cream that I have ever eaten in my life! I crave it every day and I will definitely go back next summer ! The service was okay but the people there do not speak English. We figured it out somehow 😂 and it was okay! But beware prepared with a google translate app if you do not speak italian! Overall amazing oplace, definitely visit it if you come to Aci Castello!

Gran Cafè Solaire has hands down the best granita I’ve ever tasted. tried the pistachio, gelsi (mulberry), and cantaloupe granita at Gran Cafè Solaire — and loved them all! Each one was packed with real flavor, perfectly smooth, and refreshing. The pistachio was rich and creamy, the gelsi tart and fruity, and the cantaloupe light and sweet. Paired with a warm brioche, it was absolute perfection.

La Pignolata Guinness Cannoli Taormina {since 1978} N°15 is a renowned pastry shop located on the modern Corso Umberto in Taormina. The Chemi family has been proudly making delicious cannoli since 1989, with Roberto learning from his father Michele, a historic pastry chef in Taormina.
I would agree with almost all other people here. The cannoli was something great and the best cannoli we had during our trip around Sicily together with tasty coffee. Staff is also great. Must visit place if you are in Taormina.
Josef F — Google review
I was super excited to try these cannolis due to all the reviews and they were really good but didn’t blow me away. The shell was really good and the chocolate and traditional were my favorite cannolis. We also tried the pistachio and vanilla. If you’re looking for a cannoli in Sicily, so far this one has been the best. Have to give it a try.
Eric T — Google review
Just WOW. I love desserts, and cannoli haven’t usually been a go-to for me—but THESE cannoli changed my mind! The spot is tucked away to the side, but you can’t miss its charm. It’s such a cute little shop, and the people working there are so kind. I highly, highly recommend stopping by if you're in Taormina!

I wanted an after dinner dessert, this cute small place was close to where I was staying and WOW. Without checking maps first and seeing they have 4.9 of 5, I was surprised. The service amazing, the owner is super nice, he told us this is his father recipe, the woman at the front desk super nice, she was confident that is the best cannoli in town (it is indeed) , good price, big cannolo, super tasty and just amazing. Highly recommend, I had the classic one and it’s just 10 out of 10. Will go back for other flavors ;)

La Pignolata Guinness Cannoli in Taormina is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Sicilian sweets. Serving since 1978, this charming spot is known for its freshly filled cannoli with crisp shells and rich, creamy ricotta – the pistachio and chocolate variations are especially popular. There’s also the namesake pignolata, a sticky, delicious local treat worth trying. The staff are friendly and happy to guide you through the options, and everything is made with clear attention to quality and tradition. Ideal for a quick, indulgent stop while exploring the town.
Anthony L — Google review
One of the best connolo Ive had in my 45 years on this planet. Fresh made to order. If you are in Taormina take the walk to this place! Traditional is best but the flavors are also great. The owner is so nice and welcoming.
Joey V — Google review
Nice place to try canola or canoli depends on your sweet cravings. They were fresh and tasty. Had ordered mix of traditional ricotta and pistachio fillings in traditional canola shell. Ricotta was nice and fresh and pistachio filling was screaming Pistachio with every bite. And Fillings were not that heavy. Another option we opted which was (difficult to pronounce the name) mix of Nutella and hazelnut. And canola shell was also crisp and not at all oily. Person taking order explained everything clearly which made the selection faster and also got to eat faster. Worth visiting!
Nilesh B — Google review
Absolute favorite place to eat cannoli in Taormina. Stayed for a week very close to this shop and I have tried a lot of pastry and cannoli shops in town while I was there. I have to say my favorite were Pistachio & Gianduja, but the Ricotta (simple, with fruit or with coconut) is fabulous! The shells were not too hard and the pistachio or chocolate shells pair well with some flavours. The main thing is the sweetness - not too much, not too little, just a perfectly balanced dessert, that made me go back multiple times after eating and strolling around. They will be open until late so perfect for a late night sweet treat. The size is also great, as I have bought some other cannoli which were huge and I could not finish or just way too sugary, which I don’t mind because I do like very sweet desserts, but all fillings here were just the right amount and just sweet enough. If I ever come back I would buy again 10/10

We were only passing through Modica and stopped for a coffee and breakfast. The croissant with ricotta was amazing. The best Modican hot chocolate we had ever tried. We also asked for heavy cream (panna) - fabulous and unforgettable. They’ve got many options and the cornetti tasted fresh and light. We chose to seat inside but I saw that they’ve got many tables outside as well.
Ettore B — Google review
TLDR: friendly staff, delicious chocolate and cannoli, decent prices! Originally we just came in for a cannoli, but we ended up leaving with a bag of chocolates! First off- the cannoli itself was really good. They fill them as you order so they don’t get soggy. (But we got them to go and they were still crispy after a couple of hours) the ricotta cream was fluffy but not too sweet, and they were very generous with the pistachio sprinkles. They then offered us some chocolate and hot chocolate samples, and told us a little bit about the history of the cafe and chocolate shop. (You can really tell how proud and passionate they are about their chocolates!) Apparently the father of the cafe owner was one of the chocolate pioneers in Modica, and he still insists on making chocolates by hand to this day. They have a great selection of chocolates at a fair price (tad bit lower than other places in the area). They even sell 100% cocoa chocolates and their hot chocolate powder! Oh, if you haven’t had Modica hot chocolate, I highly recommend it if you like chocolate fudge. They make their hot chocolate with either water or milk, depending on your preference. Milk can be a little too heavy, but it makes a great dipping sauce if you have it with a pastry!
Allie L — Google review
The best Granita/Cremolata in Modica? Yeah, yeah, much debate about this - every place has the best, I know. But this is *good*. Locals swear by it. A lot. Not just the locals - we were there pretty much every day for granita/coffee in the morning, and a couple more during the day 😜 (And yes, the brioche is pretty damn amazing too - just the right texture for dunking)

We had a very complete breakfast with local products. We tried the hot chocolate, Pistacchio croissant, the sicilian cannolo (ricota filling with pistacchio) and their great expresso. True. The gelato is really good. I don't know if there are any better than this in the island. Haven't tried the others. It lacks that kick though that made me drop a star. We are now exploring the beautiful city of Siracusa, Sicilia 🇮🇹 and we always like to start our day with a good cappuccino. We found an incredible coffee shop called “Voglia Matta Mangiafico”. They have very good coffee and delicious authentic Sicilian pastries and cakes. If you want to savour their ice cream on a hot sunny day, do not hesitate because it is delicious. They have many different flavours one better than the other. The staff is so friendly, polite, unique and professional that it is like having a coffee with your family and friends. We recommend this coffee shop to everyone who visits Siracusa, Sicily. You will not regret it 😁👍!

Worst granita I’ve had in years of travelling Italy. Icy watery tasteless and expensive. €3.50 for a small takeaway cup. So bad I binned it. Once famed now purely for tourists who don’t know better. There is a reason this bar was empty on a Sunday during lunch.

Can't recall its name of this heavenly chocolate boob but it's OFF THE CHAIN !!! The crunchy nutty chocie cover, the delightful vanila. But the triumph; chocolate inside that surely is the byproduct of an illegitimate meeting of Nutella, Ferrero Rocher and Bacio under a dark moonless night. If you place your ear next to it and really focus you can hear the dulcet tunes of Barry White coming from within ...it seriously is that smooth and cool.

Gluten free flavors( not sure about cross contamination). Ricotta and pear gelato has a crunchy almond crisps on it and gf also bachio with hazelnuts. Gluten free cannoli and pistachio cream and brioche. Gf Ice cream cakes in fridge. Ask which is gluten free. Cannot have the seven veil since worker checked and it had gluten. Gelato not too sweet but certain flavors less creamy and more icy side.

The best orange juice you will ever have. (It was October time) Very friendly staff. Didn’t try the desserts but they look awesome.
