Hiroshima, located on Japan's Honshu Island, is a city that beautifully blends its poignant history with modern vibrancy. Once devastated by an atomic bomb during World War II, Hiroshima has risen from the ashes and now features the serene Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, which honors those lost in 1945. Within this tranquil space lies the Genbaku Dome, a haunting reminder of that fateful day.

Park
Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima stands as a poignant tribute to the victims of the atomic bomb and serves as a powerful advocate for global peace since its establishment in 1954. A must-visit when exploring Hiroshima, this expansive park is home to significant landmarks such as the iconic A-Bomb Dome, which is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the informative Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum that details the city's tragic past.
Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima is a truly remarkable and meaningful place to visit. Known worldwide as the site of the atomic bombing, it stands today as a symbol of peace and remembrance. The park has an amazing view with beautiful surroundings, and the atmosphere is quiet, calm, and deeply respectful. Walking through the memorials gives a powerful sense of history and hope for a peaceful future. A must-visit destination when in Japan — moving, educational, and unforgettable.
Quyen L — Google review
A deeply moving and beautifully maintained park that honors the victims of the atomic bombing and promotes a powerful message of peace. The layout is thoughtful, with wide walkways, tranquil greenery, and key monuments like the Atomic Bomb Dome, Peace Flame, Peace Bell, and Children's Peace Monument all within walking distance. Every corner of the park invites quiet reflection, especially at the Cenotaph and the Peace Memorial Museum nearby. The park is clean, accessible, and free to enter. Signage in multiple languages makes it easy for international visitors to understand the historical significance. Whether you come for remembrance, learning, or reflection, Peace Memorial Park leaves a lasting emotional impact. A must-visit when in Hiroshima — respectful, educational, and profoundly important.

Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park is beautifully designed and deeply moving. Walking through the quiet paths and memorials, you really feel the weight of history and the strength of the city’s message of peace. The museum is emotional but incredibly informative — a must-see for anyone who wants to understand the human side of what happened here. Everything is well maintained, peaceful, and respectful. A visit I’ll never forget.
David D — Google review
So difficult to describe my feelings while I was inside the hall. It was hard to imagine the pains and sufferings that the innocent victims and survivors endured. Each item I saw was a testament to the harsh reality of war that they experienced; I could only bow my head in silence. I cried when I saw the film of some survivors. This is not only a bitter lesson in history but something that shouldn’t happen again. One downside during my visit was too many people inside the main exhibit hall, which made the place crowded. Some exhibits were difficult to see. I felt that the solemnity was somewhat diminished due to the crowd. Although there was a notice to the public to expect huge crowd during certain months. This would include field trips from various schools
Susie S — Google review
A beautiful and meaningful place to spend the afternoon. The park is peaceful yet powerful, with a deep sense of history surrounding it. It’s well maintained and spacious, making it easy to walk around and take in the atmosphere. The Atomic Bomb Dome and Museum are the main highlights, offering a sobering reminder of the past.
Anthony S — Google review
Really a stunning park with many monuments. I suggest you doing a tour in order to understand all the meanings behind the monuments. There are free tours offered by the museum each day at 10:30 and 14:30. You will feel speechless once you hear this devastating story .
Jennifer C — Google review
The Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima is a lasting monument to the tragic events of August 6th 1945. It stands as a powerful reminder of the dangers of nuclear proliferation! Strolling through the park is quiet and peaceful, a little like strolling through a cemetery, which in essence is what it is, because of the tens of thousands of lives that were lost in and around the area on that fateful morning. It is definitely a must see spot in Hiroshima, whether you are a student of history or not!
Doing S — Google review
I stood there, utterly still, while a storm of emotions raged within me. The air itself felt heavy with memory. Before me lay a city reborn in peace and greenery, but my mind's eye could only see the terrifying, blinding flash, the unimaginable heat, and the world being turned to ash. How can humanity possess the capacity for such cruelty? How can a single moment, born in a laboratory far away, be unleashed to erase lives, families, and an entire cityscape, leaving behind only shadows and silence? This park is not just a memorial; it is a stark, necessary question etched into the earth itself—a plea for a future where such devastation remains a relic of a painful past, never to be repeated.

Okonomiyaki restaurant
Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
Nestled in the heart of Hiroshima, Okonomimura is a vibrant food hall that celebrates the city's beloved dish: Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. This culinary haven features over 20 booths, each offering their unique take on these savory pancakes. The history of Okonomimura dates back to post-war times when numerous food stalls began serving delicious fare in Shintenchi Hiroba.
Okonomimura is such a fun and unique place! It’s a multi-floor building packed with tiny food stalls, each specializing in Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki — a savoury pancake layered with cabbage, noodles, pork or seafood, and topped with a rich sauce and egg. They welcome turists and have english menus. We sat right at the counter, watching the chef prepare everything on the hot griddle in front of us — the smell, the sound, the steam… it was a cool experience! The portions were generous, the flavours amazing, and the staff were friendly. It was extensive comparing to other places, but we were welcome and we enjoy it!
Clara C — Google review
Okonomimura is an incredible spot for anyone visiting Hiroshima. It’s a multi-floor building filled with small stalls, each serving their own version of Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, the famous layered pancake with noodles, cabbage, pork or seafood, and egg cooked right in front of you. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, and the chefs are friendly and happy to chat or explain what they’re cooking. You can sit around the hotplate, watch your meal being made, and enjoy the true local experience. Be prepared to wait in line during lunch and dinner times, it’s popular with both locals and tourists, but the line moves fairly quickly. Each stall runs separately, so payment methods can differ: most accept cash, and some also take cards. It’s easy to get to, just a short walk from Hatchobori Station. Whether it’s your first time trying okonomiyaki or you’re already a fan, Okonomimura is a fun and tasty experience you shouldn’t miss while in Hiroshima.
Tyrone H — Google review
Simply the best Okonomiyakis. It’s a food complex of multiple restaurants across 3 floors of nearly 20+ okonomiyakis. Full of locals, tourists and food influencers. We tried the cheese and squid okonomiyaki and it was a delight. Choose wherever you get a seat. You can’t be wrong! ;)
Anish K — Google review
We were looking forward to trying okonomiyaki here, but our visit was a bit disappointing. We tried to share one between us but were told we each needed to order one, which is understandable, though it did make the meal feel a bit pricey. The food itself lacked flavour, and because our grill wasn’t on, it went cold quite quickly. For 2000 yen each, there wasn’t much filling compared to what we’ve had elsewhere. Okonomimura has a great atmosphere and lots of choice, but it can feel a little tourist-oriented. I’d recommend doing some research first to find which stalls have the best reputation, or explore some of the smaller places in the backstreets — they might offer a more authentic and better-value experience.
David D — Google review
Loved okonomiyaki at stall on third floor. Take right off elevator for Syo Chan. English menu with many tourists like me so staff was very helpful. Liked the soba just a bit more than udon but both excellent. Great atmosphere made meal feel special. Must order one item each so no sharing.
Kevin C — Google review
Went there at 11:15, and slowly more and more people came. I ate at the 4th floor I think. It was good, even though I prefer Osaka style because this one lacks a bit of taste because the noodles take away lot of flavour. It is s nice experience, this place also had English menu, surprisingly. However, for 1300 yen I still left hungry, I ate a very nice okonomiyaki in the center for 700yen.
Eli P — Google review
Okonomimura is definitely a must-visit if you want to try real Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki. I don’t remember which floor we ate on, but honestly it probably doesn’t matter — every shop there looks great. The one we chose was a small, family-run place operated by an older couple, and the okonomiyaki was cooked right in front of us. A truly authentic and delicious experience.
Christoph P — Google review
Food is amazing, large portions, so if you don't have a large appetite you can share. Much like hibachi style cooking and the choices all sound delicious. Wish I could have sampled each one.

Hiroshima Orizuru Tower, named after the symbol of peace, is a modern facility located near the Peace Memorial Park. It features various attractions such as Hiroshima Hills and The Orizuru Square, offering digital experiences and selling local products. The rooftop observation deck provides stunning panoramic views of Hiroshima City and even extends to Miyajima on clear days. Visitors can also learn about the changes in Hiroshima's landscape before and after the bombing, emphasizing the importance of peace.
While the price is quite high, the views are stunning and the experience is quite special. There are plenty of knowledgeable staff to help you out and show you point of intercom above. The experience of making the peace crane and to let it fly down the glass wall to become part of the wall art is quite unique. I would definitely recommend visiting here. There is a small cafe at the top floor as well, but not enough for a meal. Really just to grab a drink and watch the landscape
Irina K — Google review
I went inside to cool off (80 degrees with 80% humidity), not realizing this building had skyview of Hiroshima monument. Paid the admission fee and ordered this unique lemon ice cream. Giving huge props to architecture theme (origami)… very retromodern style, I enjoyed the 360 degree of city view and walked down 9 levels of mural arts. It’s definitely a hidden gem.
Michael K — Google review
Very good way to get an oversight (🤔) of the peace park and this area of Hiroshima. Immersive and informative. We loved it and spent 2 1/2 hours here. The lemon ice-cream and lemonade are special. Staff are welcoming and helpful. Do it!
Kevan S — Google review
Amazing experience. You get to create your own Orizuru (paper crane) and fill a wall with it. The tower itself is so high that you get a 360 degree view of the entire city. There's a slide down the 12F to the ground floor. I got the Orizuru tower tickets through Klook in a good deal. If your are planning to visit Hiroshima, you should definitely check it out.
Burhanuddin S — Google review
I have no idea how somewhere as great as this isn't touristy by now! It has a great view of the atomic bomb dome and a brilliant panoramic view of the city. You can also make your own cranes and drop them down the side of the building. To leave, you can take the optional slide all the way down - it was so much fun! In the evening, they have a bar from 6pm-10pm. We were practically alone on the roofdeck! Amazing.
Grace M — Google review
Nice tower with a great view over the city! You are able to see most of the peace park and bomb dome as well as the hiroshima castle! I recommend you buy the extra origami fee to challenge yourself to make the crane and throw it down the wall to be part of the facade of the tower! The staff is kind and able to speak English to help you through it.
Frederik F — Google review
Lovely experience all around! + great view + nice architecture to admire + interactive activity (folding origami to throw into the facade) + you can return in the evening for the bar + you can go down by walking and admiring the view, use elevator or slide down! Origami experience was extra $ but was fun with sations where you can fold origami and watch a tutorial video Location is wheelchair friendly (going down with slopes as well)
Lynni L — Google review
I’m happy my spouse ignored my skepticism and bought us tickets anyway; Orizuru Tower is a gorgeous, thoughtful space offering a unique, meaningful experience. Yes, it’s not cheap. There’s not a ton “to do” if you’re looking to be entertained or keep active kids busy. But wow… take a load off. Buy yourself a delicious drink from the cafe on the top floor and take in the breathtaking views of the mountains that surround Hiroshima and the beautiful Peace park below. Fold origami and drop it down the glass chute in a symbolic act that’s fun and beautiful. Ride or walk down the spiral slope taking in the murals on each floor. Slow down and contemplate this city’s rise from literal ashes. This is money very well spent when you bring the right attitude.

Cafe
Hachidori-sha Social Book Cafe is a hidden gem located on the second floor near Hiroshima's Peace Park. Run by peace activist Erika Abiko, the cafe offers free Wi-Fi, organic meals for lunch and dinner, and hosts various events focusing on social issues. Visitors can enjoy coffee and curry surrounded by stacks of books collected by the owner. The cafe also provides opportunities to chat with A-bomb survivors and hosts documentaries and discussions on diverse topics.
The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming here, and provides a gret atmosphere for your morning coffee. Although the menu was simple, it was very wholesome and made with love. If you get the chance to come here on the 6th, 16th, or 26th of any month you will be able to speak to survivors of hiroshima first hand -which is a once in a lifetime experience! I highly recommend you check this place out.
Luke M — Google review
Very vibrant atmosphere, the people working here are quite welcoming and nice to talk to. I socialised with other visitors here as well and it was nice sharing different experiences and stories with them, too. I feel that I found my place here, a place that I can belong in.🧡
Jade T — Google review
Located a short walk from Hiroshima Peace Park and museum, Hachidori-sha is a great asset to the Hiroshima community. Owned and run by Abiko-san who is a peace-activist with strong ties to the Hiroshima community. She hosts regular events which are inclusive and promote social equity. LGBTQ events, talk with A-bomb survivors (also in English) events, workshops, community networking, Yoga and many other events and get togethers are held here. I met Abiko-san years ago when she organized the LOOK UP event held on the T-juncture of the bridge north of the A-bomb dome which was used to target the city by the American pilots who bombed the city in 1945. The Hachidori-sha staff are also involved in preservation discussions for Hiroshima heritage buildings which survived the Atomic blast. At the cafe, you can find information about all sorts of events happening in Hiroshima, local artists sell their handmade designs, and there are locally sourced foods and drinks available. There are efforts in the cafe to also reduce waste and most items will be sold and served in reusable containers. There is a bilingual menu as well as friendly bilingual staff who are interesting to talk to.

Military base
Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni is a remote tourism destination that sees many American visitors, especially on weekends, as it's home to around 15,000 residents from the nearby base. The base offers various amenities and activities for its residents and their families. Many have fond memories of living and working at the station, enjoying the hospitality of the Japanese community and taking part in local festivals.

Spent time there in the 90s. VMFA(AW)-121. Green Knights Awesome place. I'm sure it's completely different now.

It's a huge station. The thrill of watching F-35s take to the skies never gets old.

Way too restricted even for non-Marine members by default because you're on a Marine base. The base itself is nice and only a few years old.

If I could give it a 0 I would. Policies administratively fail service members PCSing to and from this installation (much of which I’m personally finding out after the fact)… nice gyms though.

Lived on and was stationed on this base for a year. We were family, truly enjoyed my time in Iwakuni. Worked at the clinic and took night classes at the Univ of Maryland which had a campus on base at the times. The Japanese community's around the base were very hospitable. Love the Cherry Blossom's.

We were on accompany tour. My husband was icer carpenter shop (1371). It was one of the most memorable place we were stationed. A great place then to raise children. We were there late 80's, camped and all of festivals. History down the road with Hiroshima.

Bar & grill
The Shack is a well-liked bar and grill in Japan that draws in a young American crowd with its menu and decor inspired by the United States. The walls are adorned with electric guitars and vinyl records, creating an ambiance reminiscent of a sports bar. Located on Hiroshima's main Hondori shopping street, it offers a happy hour from 6pm to 9pm featuring discounted cocktails, making it a great spot to unwind after shopping.
We saw this bar with good reviews on google - decided to go there. Was quiet to start with early and got pumping soon after. The staff team were awesome friendly and easy going. We could choose music to be played. We had Nachos which were yummy and several drinks … including the house made “ blue “ shots … very tasty. For a relaxed fun night out go upstairs to this bar in the shopping area of Hiroshima.
Jennifer A — Google review
The beer was very good but the music was questionably played and the response I got when I raised the issued was nothing short of being shrugged off. The music isn't played by a DJ but the patrons have access to and playing music off of a laptop (via. YouTube on Google Chrome). So no crossfade, but keep playing new songs half way through existing songs while a group is in the middle of said song singing away. I've never seen someone try to crossfade with a laptop trackpad.

Great, tasty pizza in a relaxed environment. We brought the full family and there were others there with young (10-13yr olds) kids too. One long table is so relaxed and friendly.
Andy O — Google review
Super friendly staff and a nice crowd. The place attracts a lot of foreigners who are open to chatting or playing pool. Plus the drinks are priced affordably and taste nice too.
Gaurav B — Google review
I cannot understand how this place has 4.2 Google reviews because we literally advised two other tourist couples as we were leaving to turn around and leave before being seated. We heard loud music and figured we could tolerate it because we were really in the mood for a non-fast food beef burger. A pleasant guy promptly took our order, but we had to endure 20-25 min of cigarette smoke and awful hip/hop music before the food arrived. We were aware of no one else ordering food, just drinks at the bar. This is obviously a loud hang out for the local young crowd, as we observed 3 males on the dance floor literally tossing each other around like school boys tussling on the playground. We were close to walking out when the food finally arrived. The beef burger was ok but the shrimp burger was processed with not a hint of a shrimp taste. The entire experience was nothing like we expected, nor desired. I advise you not to take the elevator ride required to eat at this establishment.
Kimberly T — Google review
The shack was honestly the only real place to go and drink in Hiroshima during weekdays as we were not there for the weekend and most other places were quiet or closed. They have a pool table, darts and a small dance floor. You can also cue your own music from YouTube which was a nice touch. The Mexican pizza was one of the best Mexican pizzas in terms of flavour we have tried in Japan but it was surprising that the quesadills were so bad in comparison because the Mexican pizza was so good. I would definitely advise Shack staff to change the quesadills recipe to a similar sauce to the Mexican pizza. Overall it was a very good bar with friendly staff, if we ever come back to Hiroshima we would visit again.

Amazing place, it's one of those places u won't know it's good untill you actually go in the place. Great customer service, the bartender helpful in putting us near a place for my wife & I and son. Food selection is very very diverse. We had mojito, mango milkshake for drinks. For food there was buffalo wings (great tasting with lots of meat, pretty good combination of sause too). Next was The Shack Bar Nacho one of the best nacho I've since living in Japan lots of cheese and beef. The last was the beef quesadilla very very delicious all items. Recommend anyone to stop enjoy the food & atmosphere.

If you're looking for a vibrant spot to enjoy great music and delicious food in Iwakuni, look no further than YOLO. This lively music club is the perfect fusion of Japanese and American cultures, making it an exciting destination for locals and visitors alike. The menu boasts mouthwatering options like chili cheese fries topped with jalapeños, Korean Sweet & Spicy wings that are crispy and bursting with flavor, as well as spicy chicken sandwiches that will leave you craving more.
Pretty fun place to go to enjoy some chicken wings, chicken sandwiches & jerk chicken. The staff is friendly & attentive. The interior appears to be a work in progress, but don't let that deter you from good food & a friendly atmosphere!

I have been going around Hiroshima and Iwakuni trying to find a hot wings place, and this is definitely a place I'll be coming back to. The place may seem closed, but don't let that fool you; it sure fooled me. I also tried their fried ice cream, and, damn, did it hit.
Memento ( — Google review
The chicken was the highlight—juicy and full of flavor. While the menu doesn’t offer a very diverse selection, they do have the convenience of online ordering if you’d rather enjoy your meal at home, which is likely what I'd do next time. The dining area leaves much to be desired. It feels outdated and in need of a serious makeover, from the overall atmosphere to the furniture. Not the most inviting place to sit down for a meal. On the positive side, the staff was friendly and helpful, which definitely made the experience better.
Anthony S — Google review
Wow! The food here is amazing. Had the chili cheese fries with a mild spicy sauce and jalapenos and they are so freaking amazing. Also grabbed some Korean Sweet&Spicy wings and man, they can cook some food. Wings and fries still crispy and savory with max flavor. The owner. Buck, is awesome and the conversation I had was great. Super fast and nice staff as well. I definitely recommend Yolo Kitchen. 💯

If you're on the hunt for a hidden gem in Iwakuni, look no further than Goodies! This charming diner offers an inviting atmosphere that transports you back to the classic diner days, complete with 50s jukebox tunes. Their handmade burgers are a must-try, but be aware they only whip up 30 each day—so get there early! The menu is small yet unique, featuring delightful options like milkshakes and banana splits alongside their signature Goodies Burger lunch set.
Delicious burgers and wonderful atmosphere! The burgers are handmade and as of yesterday they are only make 30 burgers per day. This cute diner also serves milkshakes and banana splits. My friend and I really enjoyed eating our burgers while listening to some oldies, but goodies! I ordered the Goodies Burger lunch set and it was ¥1300 so the price was very reasonable in my opinion. There is a rubber chicken at each table. You squeeze it when you need something or you want to place an order. It’s pretty hilarious. Service was great. They only accept yen cash. English menu is available. Small parking lot is available behind the diner.

This is a great little gem that is hidden away. From the outside you could not tell it is a restaurant. Inside is such a great diner vibe. We went a few weeks before Halloween and it was completely decorated for it. The hours are very limited which can make it a bit challenging. The burgers were really good and I look forward to going back to try them all. A word of caution, they only accept Yen. No credit cards.

The burgers are great, and the atmosphere is on point with the 50s jukebox music playing throughout. The vanilla shake was well with the calories. My only wish is for this place to be open for dinner so I could bring the family.

Best quality burger in Iwakuni in my opinion! They have a small menu but it’s very unique. I’ve tried all their burgers and they’re all great! The atmosphere is pretty cool and it’s a nice unique way to get the staff’s attention, using a rubber chicken! They add seasonal menu items and I’m looking forward to see what they add next!

The food is so amazing! Everything is unique to this restaurant. I love how much they go into the American 1960s theme. The Hangar E-Club is a popular spot for those living nearby, especially for barracks residents. This venue boasts a spacious food court with American favorites like Taco Bell, Burger King, and Subway—perfect for satisfying cravings. While options are somewhat limited during the day, the atmosphere comes alive in the evenings when it transforms into a vibrant nightclub. With amenities such as a pool hall, ATM, and money exchange kiosk, it's an all-in-one destination.
This is a favorite when we miss that American food. There is a burger King , a subway and a Taco bell. Burger King has all the burgers but the spick chicken burger runs out fast! Subway is my favorite because the bread is always fresh plus all the meats and vegetables. Taco bell seems to be a lot of people's favorite as there's a small line of people always waiting but it moves very fast and has all your favorite Tacos. Upstairs is a proper dining room with real food reserved mostly for the military,I haven't dined there but have been told the meals are delicious.
Stabua A — Google review
A convenient spot, especially for those living in the nearby barracks. The venue features a spacious food court, though options are limited—only one restaurant operates during the day, with another opening in the evening. Beyond food, you’ll also find a pool hall, an ATM, and a money exchange kiosk. When the weather’s nice, the picnic tables outside make for a relaxing hangout. And on weekends, the upstairs transforms into a nightclub, which always brings good energy and a fun atmosphere.

This bicycle tour company, whose name translates to "Let's go there" in Japanese, offers an exciting way to explore the city. With English-speaking guides at your service, you can choose from custom rides tailored to your interests or opt for preset routes like the Peace Tour. This particular journey takes you through significant historical sites that tell the story of Hiroshima before and after the atomic bombing.
I can't even begin to describe how amazing this tour was with Shin. Both my partner were in awe of the many fascinating stories Shin shared from his very personal connection to the history of Hiroshima. We also learnt so much about the history of Hiroshima in the space of 2 hours and with Shin's impeccable English, he was very engaging and relatable. This tour was hands down a highlight of our trip. I personally came away feeling quite moved by Shins very special message and would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to learn more about this incredible city. Thank you again Shin for sharing your stories 🙏

Took a 3 hour Hiroshima cycle tour with Shin. It was a fantastic tour. The most talkative guide in Hiroshima filled the morning with both fascinating and tragic stories from ancient to modern history including with personal family experiences. The electric bikes were all rather new and easy to use. We were 10 people so a second guide joined to help out. An absolutely excellent tour.

This tour was an absolute highlight of our stay in Hiroshima. Our guide Moet was amazing, her family connection and personal insights to the history of the area gave the tour a true human touch. We learnt so much and she was so genuine and authentic. The bikes were good but hard work if you are tall! It was snowing during our tour which made it beautiful and unique. Highly recommend - definitely book this!

Shin was our tour guide around Hiroshima. He was a great storyteller when talking about Hiroshima and talked about the bomb in World War 2. His own grandparents was alive at the time, the bomb was dropped and they lived on area. So the tour felt personal and he could tell us stuff that his grandparents lived through. So we got a personal and a detailed version of Hiroshima and the bomb. When the tour was about to end, he stopped at a small park and talked about he was angry at America to drop the bomb. But his grandfarther told him to stop and think of americans as humans and friends, because you won't be able to drop a bomb on your friends. And now Shin's best friend is american. Over all he was really great tour guide and the tour was personal, educational and emotionel.

Fantastic electric bike family tour with Hiroshima's Top Local Guide!!! 👍👍👍 It was so nice and so refreshing and so easy by electric bike even for someone like me who doesn't ride a bike regularly!!! We had a great experience and a very nice meeting with Mohe (and her assistant) telling us about her personal experience concerning her grandparents in relation to the bomb dropped on Hiroshima. Mohe and her assistant were so gentle. We were able to do a lot of different places and to talk about so many things. Hearing about Hiroshima and living it is completely different. We come out upset and with less preconceived ideas We talked about Horoshima's past and present. Everything was really perfect! I recommend this tour with Sokoiko company and Mohe absolutely!!!

This quaint cocktail bar, with its inviting ambiance and stylish decor, provides the perfect retreat for both locals and tourists, particularly appealing to Americans seeking a taste of home with a Japanese twist. The standout of my visit was their exceptional Old Fashioned. Crafted with precision, the bartender— a true connoisseur—blends top-shelf whiskey with the perfect amount of bitters and a hint of sweetness, garnished with a citrus twist that enriches the drink's deep flavors. Each sip delivers a perfect balance of whiskey warmth and intricate notes, showcasing why this cocktail is a crowd favorite. Whether you're a cocktail enthusiast or just starting to explore, Bar Stance promises a memorable experience for an American looking for a superb drink in Iwakuni.

Uemori is a delightful dining spot that has garnered a loyal following thanks to its consistently delicious food and attentive service. Whether you're stopping by for lunch or dinner, you'll find distinct menus that offer a variety of mouthwatering options. On my recent visit, I savored an incredible pork dish paired with a mildly spicy miso sauce—truly unforgettable! The meal also included rice or bread, an appetizer, salad, and drink—all at an affordable price.
I have been here multiple times for lunch and for dinner. Food is always delicious and service is always great! The lunch menu and dinner menu are different so I recommend going multiple times. Today we had a pork dish that was sooooo good! Tender pork, with a really good spicy miso sauce on it. The sauce was only slightly spicy. It came with choice or rice or bread, a little appetizer, a small salad, and choice of a drink. The total with tax was less than ¥1500. There is someone on staff who speaks a little English.

Nestled in the heart of Iwakuni, Appellation is a charming wine bar that promises an unforgettable dining experience. With over 15 years of service, this cozy spot offers a delightful array of course dinners that are perfect for groups. Each meal is thoughtfully paired with exquisite wines, ensuring every bite and sip complements one another beautifully. The owners are known for their warm hospitality and attentiveness to dietary needs, making it an ideal choice for office functions or special gatherings.
I’ve been here 3 times now, each with large groups, and have never had a bad meal. Everything is delicious! Each time I’ve chosen the set meal, upgraded to the superior wines and cheeses, with no regrets. The wines are paired with the food so well and you can also ask for specific wine — only reds, only whites, dry, sweet, etc. Owners are very accommodating to dietary restrictions! Definitely recommend!

Wonderful wine bar with delicious food!! I’ve ordered the course dinners before and they are delicious. They pair the wine with the food and everything is great. The course dinners are especially great when going with a group. I’ve had office functions here and the owners were so fantastic. They took great care of us, and everyone loved the food and the wines that came with our dinner. They do special dinners with regional wines. Those are a lot of fun too! Credit card can be used here.

Great relaxed atmosphere and vibe, in business for over 15 years in Iwakuni. Food is very good and they have extensive drink options. Service is excellent. We had the course meal and it was timed out perfectly. Highly recommend. English speaking friendly and plenty of seating for larger parties. Fantastic price point. Vegan and vegetarian options.

They got some seriously good selections of wine. 👌👌👌 Food as well, I just went to drink the wine but boy O boy I wish I selected one of their courses.

Very intimate and quiet. Sommelier spoke English and gave us an English menu. Very approachable. The 3 courses with wine were delicious and beautifully prepared. Definitely want to go back.

Nestled conveniently on the first floor, BAR BVRES is a hidden gem that beckons both locals and travelers alike. This charming shot bar exudes an authentic vibe, making it the perfect spot for those seeking a cozy atmosphere to unwind. With spacious counter seating ideal for solo patrons, you can enjoy a delightful cocktail like the seasonal "Persimmon Valencia" or indulge in their exquisite Daiquiri.
The bar was very refined and eloquent. The chocolate whisky tastes amazing and I will definitely be coming here again.

Beautifully crafted drinks that were delicious. Relaxing, calm atmosphere that allowed for conversations. Prices were very reasonable too!
Sandra S — Google review
Nice selection of booze and cocktails are stirred not shaken ala Manhattan, but prices were over the top (12$ -22) and complimentary snacks are charged at 300yen. Avoid, ruined the fun for group unless you are made of gold. :(

(Translated by Google) The night I returned home for the first time in a while. I wanted to finish it off alone. I went to a bar that was recommended by the owner of the first bar I was drinking at. <BAR BVRES> That's right, I wanted to drink somewhere like this. A shot bar with an authentic atmosphere, just as you would expect. The spacious counter seats are comfortable even for one person. Try a cocktail for your last drink. "Persimmon Valencia" is a cocktail made with seasonal fruits. The sweet and creamy persimmon and citrus fruits had just the right amount of sweetness, making it perfect for a dessert drink. The bill for one cocktail + charge is 1300 yen. The atmosphere, the drinks, and the prices were all good, and I was able to go home happy and satisfied.

(Translated by Google) There are long-established bars nearby, but this one is located on the first floor, making it easy to walk in, and has a wide range of creative cocktails. There are 10 types of beer, which is sure to pique your interest. You can enjoy the snacks in small portions, but since it's basically a bar, there aren't enough portions to eat. For the cocktail, I had my favorite Daiquiri. My only complaint is that the female employee is probably new to the store, but she's not very efficient and takes too much time to process the bill. I think it's a good place to sit at the counter and enjoy a quiet drink. However, cocktails start at 850 yen, so be careful not to drink too much. It's more expensive than you think. I want the master to make my favorite daiquiri, gimlet, and martini. It's exquisite.
