Taiwanese restaurant
Chinese restaurant
Din Tai Fung Fuxing Restaurant is a renowned Taiwanese chain that has perfected the art of xiao long bao, or soup dumplings. Their fig-sized dumplings are filled with succulent pork and wrapped in thin dough with an 18-fold stem. Apart from their famous xiao long bao, the restaurant offers a variety of other dumplings, including crab roe and pork, chicken, green squash and shrimp, and even chocolate-filled ones.
There is always a long line at Din Tai Fung because they don’t accept reservations. There are two of us arrived at 5:15pm. We were seated about 20 minutes later even though it said the wait is 30 - 50 minutes. If you are a vegan or vegetarian, ask for the vegetarian/vegan menu. There are not a lot of vegan/vegetarian options but plenty to satisfy. The menu is clearly labeled and the servers are very helpful if you have any questions. Place the order with a QR code. The servers keep your tea cup filled and clear the empty plates quickly. It only took about 35 minutes for us to finish our meal. Food comes out fast. Go early or later to avoid long wait time.

Not as good as I remembered them. Food quality seems have gone down as they massively expand globally and within Taiwan. When I ordered both crab meat filled and melon shrimp, I expected they bring out the melon shrimp first because the crab mean has heavier taste. Like in sushi, you want to be served with light white fish before the bloody tuna and sea urchin. The service has gone down a bit too. As before they would take the time to explain and even mix the sauce for you. You can feel they are into efficiency vs. quality of service. The atmosphere feels a bit rush as they again trying to be efficient. It feels more like fast foods chain now. Maybe it just this store? Too much focus on KPI. Nothing to see here, moving on.
Traveler P — Google review
despite its worldwide popularity, din tai fung hasn’t lost its touch and continues provides such a stellar, high-quality dining experience, meeting all expectations — nothing more, nothing less. my favourite dishes were actually all desserts. the chocolate xiao long bao was filled with warm, decadent, rich, and milky melted chocolate. its sweetness was contained in the signature thick, chewy xlb skin. the mini (but still a pretty sizeable portion) black sesame and taro baos were also delicious. the bao was fluffy, steaming, and sticky, and the filling was generous and oozed out. the black sesame one i liked a lot because of how sweet it was, but the taro one is also really good. the savoury dishes were also really yummy. the fried rice was eggy and had a touch of freshness from the green onions. this light flavour was contrasted nicely by the juicy, peppery pork chops (which weren’t tough at all — super easy to chew off!) i definitely recommend adding some of the chili sauce from the spicy wontons and mixing it in with the rice for a flavourful punch, as the rice itself isn’t very salty by itself. the 高麗菜 looks very “clear” and simple, but the subtle sweetness and lightness of the dish, with tiny tiny hints of garlic, paired with the crunchiness of the cabbage made a very yummy dish. of course, the pork xlbs were really well made. the pork in the middle was large and juicy, and the broth was so flavourful. as soon as you bite into it, there is a warm burst of delightful juices.

Din Tai Fung Fuxing Restaurant was a place my best friend invited me to go if I visited Taipei Taiwan. As soon as I landed in the country this was the first recommended restaurant to go to. Luckily it was only a city block away from my hotel and walkable. I met my friend here early by recommendation because he told me the line can be up to and hour or more. Lucky we came early because there were about 60 people already in line this morning. We had our number from the host and was seated quickly. My friend ordered the Bao beef broth and noodles, fried rice with pork, crab bao and pork bao including a couple slices of rice cake dessert. Every piece I ate was really good. The crab and pork bao were so delicious. Inside were little packets of soup which rushed into your tongue with great flavor. If you are in Taipei, this is the restaurant to visit first. Located on the lower floor B2 of the mall SOGA (I think that is the name of the mall) you should wait 30 min before 10AM at the shopping mall entrance before rushing down the escalator to get your ticket to be seated. After that, you will wait hours to come in. It is worth the visit and you will be happy you tried the food here. Highly Recommended!

Super attentive staff! We did wait a while, about 1.5 hours, but we knew it was going to be long so came a bit early and went around first. Very helpful with the online queue system updating all the time. The food was delicious and worthwhile. I would wait in line again to eat here!
Beatrice S — Google review
Few branches and this is inside the sogo mall, B2 Expect a queue! Even at late afternoon on a Friday. Didn't have to wait too long though. Take a Q number first. The Xiao long bao, fried rice with pork chop are very yummy. Surely a must order.

Long wait, but it’s par for the course for Din Tai Fung. Everything was delicious, and after having so many different XLB at different places, just think DTF is the best at it. Their pork cutlet and cucumbers are also quite delicious. This is in the basement of the mall and it is easily accessible by MRT. Convenient and clean. Exceptional service expected from DTF.
James H — Google review
The well-known, long-established restaurant that serves xiaolongbao. It's consistently delicious, no matter when you visit. You should definitely order the xiaolongbao and shrimp fried rice. From my experience, this branch has the shortest waiting time (although I did wait about 80 minutes when I visited at 11:00 AM on a weekend).

Seafood restaurant
Seafood wholesaler
Addiction Aquatic Development (AAD) is a vibrant culinary destination in Taipei that seafood enthusiasts simply cannot miss. Nestled within the bustling Taiwan Fish Market, this modern establishment offers an impressive variety of experiences all under one roof. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a wholesale area brimming with live tanks showcasing the freshest catches. As you venture further into AAD, you'll discover an upscale fusion of gourmet supermarket and dining options, including a sushi bar, oyster bar, and even hot pot selections.
The seafood dining experience at Addition Aquatic Development Taipei was impressive. The ingredients were fresh and beautifully presented, with a wide variety of fish, shellfish, and seasonal seafood dishes. Every plate tasted clean and flavorful, clearly made from high-quality, locally sourced ingredients. The grilled seafood and sashimi were standouts — perfectly cooked and delicately seasoned. The staff were attentive, and the service felt refined yet welcoming. The modern setting, combined with the freshness of the seafood, made for a very enjoyable dining experience. Overall, it’s an excellent spot for anyone who loves fresh seafood in a stylish, comfortable atmosphere.
Quang M — Google review
The seafood here is incredibly fresh, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. From uni hand rolls to premium sashimi platters, every bite tasted clean and high quality. The ambience and layout make it feel more like a curated seafood market experience than a typical restaurant. However, service left much to be desired. We had an initial server who was shockingly rude, bordering on hostile, and later spent about 15 minutes chatting with a friend while her teammates hustled to serve guests. The rest of the staff did their best, but overall service felt amateurish compared to the level of the food. Great for food lovers—but don’t expect polished hospitality.
Jeremiah Y — Google review
Fresh seafood and plenty of variety at Addiction Aquatic Development. You can buy your seafood and have it cooked or made into sushi, or dine at one of the small restaurants inside, which often have better deals and air conditioning compared to the ready-made stalls outside. There’s also a quiet corner spot with a huge seafood platter for 1,980 NTD that’s worth trying. That said, I wasn’t too impressed with the service. Even though it’s mostly self-service, it’s still quite pricey. We spent around 6,000 NTD on food, and when we asked about a crab we bought that was hard to eat, staff said it had been cut to help us. They walked outside where we were eating standing. We showed them pieces that clearly weren’t cut and were very difficult to eat. After complaining, they hesitated to help instead of cutting it for us, they just let us use their shears. A strange experience considering how much we spent. The public washrooms there were disgusting.
Kelvin F — Google review
There are a total of 3 dining areas. The first one would be the kind, where you have to sit or stand by the counter, order their sushi and/or sashimi. The second one would be an outdoor sitting restaurant that focuses on bbq. The third one would be a restaurant, where you must select the seafood before entering the restaurant to sit. Kindly take note, for this restaurant, they do not accept credit card. They only accept cash. We went to the 3rd one. The seafood are definitely fresh however, the price can be quite pricey. A total of 3 of us paid $3000 for the meal. You can take a look at the photo to see what we have ordered. To those who hasn't visit this place before, I would say, give it a go and try for one time to experience the atmosphere.
Tan T — Google review
I’ve been here many times, but this visit was for a company gathering , and it was just as great as always. The king crab was incredibly fresh, sweet, and perfectly cooked — definitely the star of the meal. The staff were friendly and attentive, making sure everything went smoothly even though the restaurant was quite busy. The other seafood dishes were also delicious and well-prepared, especially the sashimi and grilled prawns. Overall, it’s a great place highly recommend for anyone who loves quality seafood!
Stacie L — Google review
A supermarket in Taipei Fish Market is packed with fresh seafood, vegetables, and Japanese food like sushi, sashimi, and ready-to-eat meals. You can pick ingredients and have them cooked at the chef’s bar. Very convenient, clean, and full of variety.
Chomticha S — Google review
food ok, price ok, service dreadful. One of the worst qualities of a wait staff is attitude, maybe it's the culture here, sometimes I don't know who is serving who, and who is paying who, is that a Taiwan thing? I don't know, this place has fresh seafood, but don't expect to be able to dine in, everything is "to go". You would have to stand outside in Taipei's humidity and heat, and sweat, not the way you'd want to spend a vacation. I couldn't tell you why this place doesn't have a setup more comfortable so people can dine in comfort, and feel like you're being served rather than you serving and paying them for it. I'm wondering if social media is just taking its toll as usual where everything's overhyped by influencers who's only focus is generate ad dollars, and not about the truth. I might return for the fresh seafood, but will definitely do it a different way. The worst part is you have to pay cash, and you can run out of cash really quickly with what they charge for seafood. I had to recheck my calendar and make sure it was 2025 and not 1825, who doesn't accept credit cards in 2025, or any other form of digital payment. The one thing that comes to mind tax evasion. and I sour on that note. so I did come back on a second visit with a bit more cash, and the taxi driver that took me there gave me some insight on this establishment, it appears that this market is catering primarily towards tourists from Hong Kong and China, so things are beginning to make a whole lot more sense to me now why it is the way it is.
F1 R — Google review
I've been here a handful of times now, and whenever I'm in the area, I always make sure to stop by. It's a great fish market with a wide selection of fresh seafood, high-quality beef, produce, alcohol, bentos, and hot food. Inside the market, there's a standing seafood bar, a wine tasting bar, and even a hot pot spot on the second floor. There's also a restaurant with a cute outdoor seating area and a cafe/dessert stand. The service is always excellent. Definitely check this place out if you get the chance!

Chinese noodle restaurant
Taiwanese restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Taipei, Yongkang Beef Noodles is a beloved culinary gem that has been delighting locals and visitors alike since 1963. This unpretentious eatery specializes in Taiwanese beef noodle soup, renowned for its rich and flavorful broth that simmers for hours with an aromatic blend of soy sauce, ginger, star anise, garlic, and five-spice.
So good to be back here after many years for the beef noodles. They are just as good. The beef broth is full bodied made from beef bones. The beef tendon and meat are all soft with good texture. Their steamed spare ribs with rice powder and steamed large intestines with rice powder are also the must order. The seasoning for the spare ribs and intestines are very satisfying. Intestines are properly cleaned. Do order the side vegetable dishes to add to the mains. Fresh and tasty. Be prepared to queue as there is usually a line especially peak hours. Service is very good. Space can be a little tight and if u have bags with you, look for bag hooks on the table legs. They are very handy when space is tight.
Trotting H — Google review
Really solid bowl of 牛肉麵! The broth had a great depth of flavour but wasn’t too heavy. They were also generous with the meat, which is always a plus! We also ordered the 排骨 which was really special and the 炸醬麵! Everything was really solid and would definitely come again! Don’t sleep on the side dishes either (my fav was the lotus root and the eggplant)
Jade L — Google review
This is the best beef noodle spot recommended by my cousin who knows food really well. I loved it! The beef noodle soup does not have tomato in it (or at least I couldn’t see or taste it). The eggplant and string beans were a good addition. Saw a lot of people who ordered the rice powder dish (it looks like fried rice). My friend and I came on a Sunday around noon and waited about 10min. The turnover is pretty quick, and staff is friendly.
Heidi L — Google review
Finally made it here, this must be one of the top 5 must try beef noodle shop for tourists in Taipei. Soup & noodle were ok but I was disappointed by the texture of the beef. The meat breaks apart easily in your mouth but tastes dry and sticks to the gaps between your teeth. This is the most I’ve ever paid for beef noodle by a big margin so I’d have to rank it bottom of my list. The guy next to me ordered the dark broth version and it looks tastier.
Drlogan D — Google review
I dropped by on a weekday late morning, there was a queue of maybe just 5 groups infront of me, possibly due to the rain. After 10-15mins wait, we got in and was placed with another group of 2 to share a table. Ordered the large beef and tendon noodles and a side of steamed pork rib. They have a variety of other side dishes which we skipped. The steamed pork rib came first, the flavour and texture is so unique, I believed its mixed with sticky rice, and pumpkin at the base of it. The beef noodles would be one of the best I’ve had so far, the meat is tender and easily fall apart upon bitting while the tendon just melts in your mouth. Would definitely come back again if I ever visit Taiwan.
Kenneth T — Google review
The beef noodle taste as standard taste in popular restaurant in Taipei. Soup is good with chinese herb as standard soup in Taiwan and taste is mild and balance with a slightly salty taste. Beef and tendon is ok, not very soft. Noodle has soft texture with little chewy. The texture is in between ramen and udon. Verdict: overall taste is in standard of beef noodle in Taipei. By the way, this is famous restaurant with long story in Taipei. You can try. The down side is you have to share the table with others if your group not fulfill the seat in your table. By the way, the taste noted in mind is the wonton with peanut sauce that makes me notice of this restaurant. I like the wonton with peanut sauce here a lot, recommended.
Fankuroll — Google review
The noodles are good but not one of the best we tasted. There are two serving type, solo and for sharing. It is not salty or oily and the little spice for the flavor. The place is not that big but comfy to eat. Serving is fast as you will not that long to get your order.
John J — Google review
Excellent flavor and perfectly balanced broth. The beef is incredibly tender and soft, and the noodles are cooked just right. A great place to enjoy authentic Taiwanese beef noodles🍜.

Ay-Chung Flour-Rice Noodle, nestled in the bustling Ximending district of Taipei, is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in authentic Taiwanese street food. This popular eatery draws large crowds of locals and tourists alike, all eager to savor its signature dish: vermicelli stew, known as mianxian or mee sua. The highlight here is the thick and smooth flour-rice noodles served in a rich broth that has just the right amount of spice.
I ate Ah Chung Mian Xian for three days in a row because it tastes really good! The flavor is rich and satisfying. The only downside is the long queue and the crowd, but it’s definitely worth trying if you’re in Ximending.😍
Celyn L — Google review
Noodle comes in small and big. Tourists and locals queue for it. For me, it is nice to have a bowl of broth/soup to warm the stomach in the morning. Some reviews said it is nothing special and some really like it. Like any other food it really depends on individual taste and where they originated. Certain countries practically live on soupy food so having soup here its like "normal". But for some who lives on bread and more western affair, this will be a "treat". Give it a try and judge it yourself. Yes only a few benches to sit on.
Cecilia L — Google review
So much has evolved over the years. Food is still good but efficiency seemed to have killed a bit of the vibe. Remembered they used to have condiments (ie chili and vinegar) you can help yourself to, but seemed to have been taken away?
Mr J — Google review
Ay-Chung Flour-Rice Noodle — one of Taipei’s most famous street food spots in Ximending. The noodles come in a thick, flavorful broth with a strong bonito aroma. Many people love it, but personally, I find it just okay. The flavor is intense and the texture might not be for everyone. Still, it’s worth trying once for the experience. Quick service and standing-only area, so it’s perfect for a fast local bite while exploring the busy streets of Ximending.
Kitsada S — Google review
Popular rice noodles spot - they have 2 sizes and self serve for sauces (garlic, spicy, and vinegar). There's pieces of pork intestines in the soup Super thin and served hot in soup. There's no seating, just stand under the fans to stay cool in the summer. It's a comfort food but honestly not super special We were served very quickly after paying
Eileen L — Google review
Cash only! Enjoy some hot noodles here. The condiments are right behind the cashier - easy to miss. Only takeaway. The only seating is public benches, expect to stand. The queuing process was efficient and fast. Delicious noodles.
Jane N — Google review
If you're here, you're here for one thing. I always make sure to come back when I'm in Taiwan. It's delicious and classic and very hot, but even in super hot weather you'll find a line. The line moves very fast and there's no seating, so you'll find people eating standing around the store. There's a small station where you can customize yours with extra garlic, hot sauce and vinegar, which I would recommend.
Tif — Google review
Ah Zong Mien Xian is undoubtedly a popular spot, drawing steady crowds thanks to its reputation. However, in terms of food quality, I found it to be fairly average. The bowl leans heavily on starch, which gives the dish that thick, gooey texture it's known for. While the flavour is decent and comforting, the portion size feels a little on the small side, especially for the price and hype. One highlight is the oysters – they’re relatively fresh and add a nice briny contrast to the rich broth. That said, those with sensitive stomachs may want to consider the consequences before diving in.

Yong He Soy Milk is a popular Taipei eatery known for serving classic Taiwanese breakfast foods, making it a great spot for a late-night snack. While soy milk is their specialty, they also offer other delicious options. The Daan Station location is open 24-hours from Tuesday to Saturday. One must-try item is the Tiger Sugar Tea, which comes highly recommended and features caramelized sugar creating tiger stripes in the tea with chewy tapioca pearls.
what a simple but satisfying and filling breakfast !! i think the purple mantou doesn’t taste very different from the white one, it had a plain flavour but was super fluffy and easy to pull apart. its simplicity paired super well with the flavourful, salty, kind of bbq-ish spiced chicken and the thick, soft egg. i especially loved the bites with chicken skin, it was just sOoo yummy ! i also dipped the mantou in the spicy chili oil and that was also delectable. i was worried it wouldn’t be hot when i ate it because everything is premade and you’re just grabbing and going, but since they’re churning out fresh ones super often, it was still really warm and comforting when i got it. a bit oily and a bit heavy, but not overly so — the mantou balances it out!
Katelynn C — Google review
Yonghe Soy Milk is a fantastic breakfast spot! We visited at 5 am and were surprised to find no lines, but it was clear why - there was only one staff member handling orders and food prep. As a result, our food took a bit longer to arrive. The portions were generous, with each order likely enough for two people. What impressed us most was the value - Yonghe Soy Milk is one of the most affordable breakfast options we had in Taiwan. The menu is simple, but the basic breakfast dishes did the trick, warming our tummies and fueling us up for the day. If you're looking for a budget-friendly breakfast spot, Yonghe Soy Milk is definitely worth a try!
Aimee C — Google review
A great breakfast place around Ximen! Their fried dumplings here were great. I finished all the pieces by myself because it was that good 😋 For my beverage, I got the soy milk drink, but I only had the warm variety because I couldn’t find the iced version then. The milk tea was good too! The only downside is the limited seating, but that wouldn’t deter me from returning to try more of their food.
Patricia C — Google review
A perfect breakfast! The soya milk was flavourful and refreshing, pairing wonderfully with the tender xiao long bao. The carrot cake was delicious — soft, fragrant, and just the right amount of sweetness. Altogether, a delightful meal to start the day!
Geraldine K — Google review
This was supposed to be a popular chain restaurant but somehow this branch was way below my expectations. I arrived at this place around 11.30am and there was no queue at that moment. All the food was pre-prepared; I just had to get a tray and pick up the food of my choice. I got a soy bean milk without sugar, a fried dough fritter and egg pancake with pork. The soy milk was very diluted with not much soy bean flavour, the egg pancake was cold and not fresh, and the fried dough fritter was soft and soggy. If the food were to be prepared fresh, I would not be as disappointed.
Joshua W — Google review
Great breakfast spot in Ximending area. It's definitely a great experience with many of the Taiwanese classics such as Xiao long bao, fried pot stickers, Chinese donut, soy milk, etc. Taste is pretty good and it's fun to get to try so many authentic dishes at once.
Bo L — Google review
It was a little warm since it’s summer, but the food definitely made up for it! In the morning, everything was already prepared and placed by the counter, which made it quick and convenient. Later in the afternoon and evening, the dishes were made fresh to order, and they tasted great. Really enjoyed the experience!
Eileen R — Google review
Quick grab and go breakfast place! Food are ready, everyone can easily choose from the available selection, pay, and take it for dine-in, to one of the vacant table (if available) or take-away. The is a condiments and take-away table outside the store, where you can grab chopsticks, plastic utensils, and some toppings. They are also famous for their fried dough in hot soymilk. Typical Taiwanese breakfast if you wanna try to be a local 😉 Long lines early in the morning but everyone was moving quickly so wait time is only less than 10 minutes! I also recommend their hot milk tea! Creamy and not that sweet!

Their rice noodles was so good! I never had such good rice noodles in my life! Their service was very nice too。 We had such a good experience there, we would visit them again if We come back to Taiwan.😋

Excellent food. The appetizer platyer was flawlessly executed. The fried fish was divine. The service could use some improvement though. It's not bad, but the attentiveness was lacking. Our experience didn't measure up to the michelin expectation.

I am adding a review for 2024 winter solstice celebration, we were hosting a group of family and friends from overseas and felt that this restaurant could represent Taiwanese cuisine. We booked for 16 people a month prior to the date and the manager answered the phone saying that they will need to split us into 2 tables with min. spend of NT.30000, and we were ok with it. However, when we arrived the restaurant, they gave us the biggest private room and told me that the min. spend is NT.40000 coz we are having the biggest table for 20 people but since their manager made a mistake over the phone they could accept min. spend of NT.30000. Their attitude was like “it’s a favor for you” and said it out in front of my guests. The waitress’s face was like she is serving some people on the street instead of at a nice dinning restaurant. Imagine that you paid out NT.40000 + in the end but you were really embarrassed by the restaurant service in front of your guests. It’s definitely not worth for the money.

My mom and I each tried a different tasting menu, which was great because we could try various different dishes all at once! We loved this place. The food wasn’t greasy (super important!) and was a great combination of the ingredients from “the mountain” and “the sea”. Would love to visit again. Super friendly staff too. It’s been a while so I can’t remember the specifics, but I had such a great time! ❤️

The restaurant was well presented, clean, and comfortable, but it didn’t quite feel like a Michelin-star establishment — and we’ve been to quite a few around the world. The level of service and attention to detail that usually comes with that recognition was somewhat lacking during our visit. We ordered the set menu, which featured flavours of Taiwan from the 1920s and 1930s. Each dish had its own unique and distinct taste, and the concept was interesting. It does feel like a place that’s better suited for larger groups so the dishes can be shared and enjoyed together.

I recently visited with a group of friends, and we were blown away by their signature roasted chicken which is offered in three different styles. The classic way showcased how tender and juicy the chicken was. The next way was the sole crispy skins of the chicken. For the third one, the shredded chicken was severed with Gua Bao with menma inside. However, the flavour of Menma (the picked bamboo shoot)is too strong that it completely covered up the taste of the roasted chicken. It would be better if the option of serving without Menma is available or being substituted by others e.g. coriander. By the way, the karasumi fried rice is a must try!

Feeling little overpriced. Environment and service are very good. New style Taiwanese cuisine. Worth to try once.

Jin Feng Braised Pork Rice is a bustling Taiwanese restaurant known for its pork and chicken dishes, as well as convenient take-out options. The signature dish features rice topped with flavorful braised pork, which has received mixed reviews due to its fatty nature. Despite this, the restaurant remains a popular choice for locals and visitors alike.
Lunch at the legendary Jin Feng Braised Pork Rice, one of Taipei’s most iconic eateries for comfort food done right. 🍚 Slow-braised pork belly over fragrant rice, melt-in-your-mouth tender and rich with five-spice flavor 🥚 A perfectly seasoned braised duck egg, savory and silky 🥬 Blanched greens drizzled with garlic-soy sauce for balance and crunch All this for just NT$130 (about $5.50 CAD). Simple, affordable, and deeply satisfying. This is Taiwanese soul food at its best. No frills, just line up, sit down, and let the flavors speak. 🤤

I visited this shop after reading all the excellent reviews, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype for me. The braised meat rice was a bit of a letdown, there wasn’t much meat, just a few pathetic small strips, though I will say the gravy was quite tasty. The soup was just average as well. Overall, it was okay, but I’ve definitely had better elsewhere. I would not recommend this shop unless you happen to be nearby.

We came to Jin Feng, intrigued by the amount of reviews on Google Map. And we wanted to clarify the confusing mixed ratings. The restaurant was located on the corner. We could access it from the main street. We sit on the 1st floor. Ordered through using QR Code with our phone. We ordered: - Braised ground pork with rice Super soft melt in your mouth pork. The brown soup from the stew was super tasty. - Slow braised pork with rice - Pork thick soup The soup was thicker and there was a little tanginess from vinegar i guess. Refreshing but filling because of its consistency. - Deep fried tofu - Braised duck egg The food they served were seems like a home cooked meal that warm your body and comforting. The type of meal that Chinese moms cook for their family. Me & my family really enjoyed them. It's too harsh for a 3.8 star! I would definitely come back here on our next visit to Taiwan!

Jin Feng Braised Pork Rice is a small, crowded eatery famous among tourists and locals, but it can feel quite rushed once you’re inside. The seating is tight, and the staff moves fast to clear tables for the next customers. The braised pork rice is flavorful but not as exceptional as the hype suggests—just decent comfort food. Overall, it’s an okay experience if you’re nearby and curious to try, but definitely not worth lining up for.

Jin Feng is a popular local establishment for braised pork rice. It’s affordable price point and quick service are notable as are the different size options. There’s a QR code menu system with English translation so it’s very easy to place your order and then pay after eating (in cash). We arrived to a short queue and our large party had to split up on the second floor. I liked the braised ground pork though it’s very greasy and mainly bits of fat mixed with ground pork. You do have the option of ordering pork belly. The cornstarch pork thick soup is good although it’s best to season with the tabletop pepper. Finally, it’s nice to have some veggies. The service can be a bit brisk but this is definitely a local and super affordable spot. 📷 Braised Ground Pork with Rice Small NT$70 Medium NT$80 / Pork Thick Soup NT$120 / Boiled Vegetables Large NT$50 📍 金峰魯肉飯 ~ Jin Feng Braised Pork Rice (Taipei City, Taiwan) Dining is indoor and open air covered dining only, no reservations and cash only

Located at #274, Section 2, Bade Road in Taipei, Lin Dong Fang is a must-visit for those craving delicious beef noodles. This renowned restaurant has been serving traditional beef noodles for over three decades and is famous for its special broth made from ancient Chinese medicine spices. Despite its unassuming appearance, Lin Dong Fang is highly regarded by locals as the go-to place for beef noodles.
This is a famous noodle place which exist since long... it was a small stadle and now moved to nicer locals. Local people recommended me this place for beef noodles...however they always go there late at night when everything else is closed and after drinking, apparently. The place is okay decorated.... look clean. The staff have zero smiles and don't really talk or help. They just take order and bring you food! The beef noodle is good... the noodles are well cocked, beef is tender , the soupe has a good taste with some herb (Chinese herbs, i guess). It's a good experience...

Lin Dong Fang is among several places listed as the best beef noodle soups in Taipei and is a particular favorite with locals. It started as a small stall but the current location is a modern, clean and multi-story restaurant with a laminated menu and table service (although utensils and spicy beef paste are self serve). However, judging by the empty space and the noodle soup I had, it’s hey day are probably past and I much preferred Yong Kang Noodles. I found the broth to be very mild even when I added the spicy beef paste and although we tried multiple versions, the beef cut and toughness was present in every bowl except for one or two pieces that were tender. The tendon was very soft but the noodles (only one type) tasted very manufactured rather than fresh made. Prices are affordable and service was fast with zero wait but overall underwhelmed. 📷 Half Tendon/Half Beef Noodle Soup Small NT$260 / Beef Tripe Noodle Small NT$260 / Beef Noodle Small NT$210 / Hua Gan ~ dried tofu in beef broth NT$40 Dining is indoor only, no reservations required and they accept credit cards

Broth and beef was alright. The highlight for me was the super chewy and thick noodles. Loved it alot. Portion size was also quite big even for the small portion. We arrived in Taipei late at night so it was great that this place was opened till late. There was also no queue at all around 10pm.

Noodle is ok, not bad. The soup taste is mild and balance well. Beef softness is well cooked. I visit due to this shop is one of the top list for beef noodle in Taipei. I don't give three atar since the noodle still enjoyable. Overall is ok. If you don't like atrong tasts, old school beef noodle. The beef is soft and tendon also soft at good level. For the price is juat average price for beef noodle in this area. You can come to try, the queue not build up when I visited. The down point is I order just beef soup but get the beef noodle instead.

A+ [would come again / 還會再來] · this is a famous traditional beef noodle in Taipei thats known for their signature spicy beef butter · their large size looked like small size (stingy portion for the price because famous) · their beef slices tasted perfectly tender + juicy (about 6 large slices) · i liked how they added more soup when we asked (bonus points since we were given very little soup in the beginning) · add their spicy beef butter to enhance flavor (its a must) · its open during late night hours for 宵夜 (went around 1 am) tldr: a must try beef noodle restaurant that has stingy portion but perfect for late night snacking

A decent bowl of noodles but definitely not the best in Taiwan. The beef was tender but the soup and the noodles weren’t that special. They also really hurry you to order so it felt a bit rushed inside.
Jade L — Google review
If this is Taiwan’s most famous beef noodle stall, then this is giving Taiwan’s iconic dish a bad name. The soup is limp, thin, yet very salty and full of msg. Beef tendons are very tough. Food is served without chopsticks, with no chopsticks around the shop in sight. When I walked around the shop looking for chopsticks, the staff sitting against the table looked displeased that I interrupted her rest (is she having a break or is she just idling around?), as she pointed to a black box. But service aside, honestly find the beef noodles here terrible.

Vegetarian restaurant
Yang Shin Vegetarian Restaurant is an upscale dining spot in Taipei, offering a wide array of classic vegetarian dishes and dim sum in an elegant setting. The menu features an extensive selection of appetizers, chef specials, and a Top 20 section. Renowned for its delectable dim sum, the restaurant provides a vegetarian twist on popular Taiwanese foods like xiaolongbao. Additionally, it serves specialty dishes such as peking duck and custard tarts.
We made a reservation online and were able to book a table for 7:30 pm on a Sunday. The restaurant was pretty much booked. Most dishes are very good for vegetarian food. The meal sets are a better deal than getting individual dishes, but we felt there was too much food and it was more expensive than what we could finish. We ate 1/2 of the food and bagged up the other half for leftovers. We felt rushed due to the dining time limit. Especially in the evening , we felt rushed by the staff to pay for and pack the leftovers before near 9:00 pm, before their closing time of 9:30. Not a very good experience. Most dishes are heavily seasoned and a bit salty for us. A slightly lighter seasoning would help bring out the taste of the ingredients in our opinion. Recommend the dim sum as usually it's hard to find vegetarian options at other dim sum restaurants.
ZT Y — Google review
The 4-person sharing option was an insane 12-course feast. If you go this route, you should definitely come hungry because it's a ton of food and everything is delicious! The menu had a great mix of staple dishes (chow mein, Xiao Long Bao, hot pot) and creative options, some highlights being the cabbage gratin and sweet and sour taro. The staff were attentive and confirmed our dietary restrictions too, which was greatly appreciated. Absolutely worth a visit, and definitely make a reservation in advance if you can.

If you are looking for vegan dim sum in Taipei, this is the place. Most dim sum dishes contain dairy or egg in other restaurants. The two of us came at 5pm on the dragon festival weekend. I was able to get a reservation a couple days earlier. The restaurant was quite busy, so highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time. They required us to spend $800 per person when we arrived, so had to order quite a bit of food. Most dishes were heavily seasoned. We felt quite thirsty after the meal. The menu showed a gluten free section in the back which was very helpful. The restaurant was quite busy, so it was pretty loud.

Another great example of how good vegetarian restaurants in Taiwan can be. Stopped by for some dim sum and didn’t miss the meat at all. Everything was well made, super tasty and was able to leave without feeling heavy like some dim sum can to do you. Service was very accommodating and friendly as well. Definitely a place I’d be happy to bring locals or visitors to.

First off, Jenny is a super star and the absolute nicest person I have ever met. She is joyous and full of life and great food recommendations. The atmosphere and quality of ingredients and overall dishes are exceptional. If you are in Taipei this is one place you should not miss. It's just beside Yache Korean Vegetarian Restaurant. But Yang Shin has a bigger space. The waiters are friendly and helpful. The food is just right if compare to Veggienius(they have the similar menu). We ordered 4-persons set menu, the food is too much, we can't finish so we takeaway, not sure whether there is any minimum spend, it seem yes.

RAW is a sophisticated restaurant in the DaZhi district of Taipei, founded by renowned chef Andre Chiang from Restaurant Andre in Singapore. The restaurant offers an elevated French cuisine experience with a modern vibe and striking decor. Chef Chiang, along with chefs Zor Tan and Alain Huang, showcases Taiwan's distinctive seasonal ingredients through ever-changing set menus that highlight the country's 24 micro-seasons. The restaurant has gained recognition, ranking at No.
Perhaps it is a little late to write this review (8 months after the visit when they were about to take a break), yet I still miss their innovative and collaborative approach which is rarely seen and works really well. Come back soon!

Sad this place is now closed and Chef Andre is turning it into a culinary school. First time here on NYE lunch 2022 we met Chef. Amazing 3 hr culinary journey. Love the fact that there's a story behind each course and to taste how everything ties together like a harmony. Second time was 6 months later in June 2023 where we got to design our own menu. Great concept, imagine the different permutations, but perhaps not a good idea to give that choice to the patrons. It was not as good as the first time, it could be 2nd vs 1st, could be the fact Chef Andre wasn't there. Dunno. One thing for sure, it's one of the best meals I've ever experienced.

Extremely high end restaurant with a heavy price tag, especially for locals. Definitely worth dropping in if you can get a reservation and are willing to pay the price tag. The restaurant itself looks amazing, the service is attentive and great. The overall experience is fantastic and definitely matches up with other Michelin star restaurants. The wait staff are amazingly helpful, nice and just great to talk to. The food is experimental and absolutely amazing in terms of what they’ve done. Breaking down ingredients and building them back up again. However, if I had to nitpick, the whole course didn’t feel cohesive towards the second half of the service, but that’s absolutely subjective. As individual dishes, they’re all great. Highly recommended for the experience for ppl with deep pockets.

Had really high expectations and was pretty disappointed. This season’s menu felt too creative, and the actual execution was lacking. The food didn’t taste as great as I had hoped it would be some of the dishes didn’t seem well thought through or well executed. It seemed like they needed more practice because some of the dishes were too salty. I probably only liked 1-3 items. All the desserts were a little too savory in general. Service was alright - Nothing amazing, had to try to wave down a waiter a few times. The bathroom was very cool. It was nice to experience this type of atmosphere with all the wood. Glad I came still it was definitely an experience. Overall, I was not particularly impressed by the food. I would only recommend this place for very special occasions, but probably not for this season’s menu.
Victoria H — Google review
I recently visited RAW in Taipei City that offered an outstanding tasting menu experience. The current season served an "original" menu that allowed guests to create their own recipes, which was an incredibly fun and unique dining experience. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the dishes served and found them to be exceptionally tasty. However, one downside of the restaurant was the size of the seats, which were a bit too small for my liking. Plus, the ice cream served during the meal was a weak spot in an otherwise outstanding menu. While it may have been a minor disappointment, it did detract slightly from the overall quality of the meal.
Ryvn L — Google review
Meal dated back in 2020. Highly recommended if you manage to get a table here. Invited by a friend, I had the chance to experience RAW, known as one of the most challenging reservations in Taiwan. It was my first Michelin-starred dining experience in Taiwan, reminiscent of my first Michelin encounter in Hong Kong at "Tim Ho Wan." The new menu, rooted in traditional Chinese medicine, combines French culinary techniques with the essence of Chinese herbal dietary therapy. Unlike previous experiences, this menu introduces tea and soup pairings alongside wine. During the meal, you can request additional wine, tea, or soup from the attentive staff. Opting for both wine and soup pairings, my companion and I were treated to a dining experience where every dish left us astonished, appreciating the chef's ingenuity. In summary, the cost for this exceptional dining experience at RAW was only 2800, offering the quality of a Michelin 2-star restaurant. Each dish was a delightful surprise, showcasing meticulous attention to detail. It's undoubtedly a restaurant worth revisiting. A fellow diner, well-versed in Michelin restaurants, even declared RAW as his current top recommendation.
Justin T — Google review
The food presentation was excellent! You can see there is a lot of effort on the menu design to lead diners to walk into chefs thinking. The food tastes wise, all are spot on but missing the "Wow" dish based on the fee they charged. Service is absolutely amazing , very detailed and attentive. Overall,it's a great experience worth to come back for new menu every quarter.

One of the most anticipated restaurants for this Taipei trip which doesn’t disappoint. All dishes are so refined and well-plated combined with different ingredients and cooking methods. Most importantly all dishes are so tasty and fresh. Compared to the seaweed dish we tried at Noma Kyoto, we definitely vote for RAW. As we have only two persons we are arranged at the communal table. Other guests indeed told us a lot of culinary experience and restaurant recommendations as well. Thanks for their sharing.

Chinese noodle restaurant
Noodle shop
Liu Shandong Beef Noodles is a compact, long-standing restaurant in Taipei that has been serving locals for nearly 70 years. The shop offers a choice between Taiwanese and Australian beef, both paired with thick homemade noodles and flavorful broth. Despite its humble street-side setting near Taipei Main Station, it's a popular spot with quick service and efficient staff.
Tucked away in small lanes, this small noodle house oozes really old school style charms. They can seat less than 25 at max capacity but the queues moves quickly. The insides are fully air-conditioned and is comfortable even in summer. We all prefer the braised version and that's what we ordered. The beef was really tender and the soup was delightful to our family's tastes buds. Will definitely return.
Daniel Y — Google review
I went there on a weekday during lunchtime, and the line was already quite long. The restaurant itself isn’t spacious, old, and the seating is a bit tight, but it did earn a Michelin star in 2018 and 2019. I ordered the Braised Beef Noodle Soup. The beef was flavorful, and nicely tender. The noodles were chewy and generous. The broth had a solid beef flavor but wasn’t overly heavy on the Chinese spices that are sometimes used in this type of dish, so it felt more suited to foreign tastes. I also tried the Marinated Bean Curd , but I found it overly salty and not particularly flavorful. On the table, they provide vegetable, fermented soybean, chili oil, and a chili-based seasoning. These helped add some spice and depth, especially since the noodles are quite thick and can taste a bit bland on their own. I think adding a little of the fermented soybean works well when eating the noodles without the beef or broth. The service was good, although the food took a bit of time to served. The place was busy and packed, so I couldn’t stay too long with the constant flow of people waiting outside.

We got there right at opening and there was a huge line. We were able to get in on the first seating and were sitting at a shared table. We got one of the beef noodle soup without beef and one of the braised beef noodle soup (different soup bases). We thought the noodles were nice and chewy but the beef was not that great. It wasn't soft enough. The soup itself was not flavourful enough. Felt kind of simple and lacking something extra. We also got the cucumber and that had good garlic flavour. Overall I thought that it was pricey for what it was. I wouldn't recommend lining up for it.

popular for a reason At first glance, this place doesn't seem all that impressive. Located in the dingy alleyway, it is a tiny restaurant with old metallic tables and chairs. There is a lady outside efficiently orchestrating the table cleaning and customer seating. There was a small line outside which moved reasonable fast (took us ~30 minutes to get seated for a weekend lunch). You order while in line and then the food gets brought to you when you are seated. There are two primary options for beef noodle soup: clear or braised broth. The former is lighter and purer, the later is soy heavy - both are excellent. When you get your bowl, you can slather in whatever you please: black beans, vinegar, soy sauce, chili oil, and mustard greens within a deep tub. The mustard greens are a must for me. When I finally got a taste, I understood why this place is well known. The beef was ultra tender, the broth was super beefy, and the noodles had great chew. Perfect for a rainy day like the one when I visited. Oh ya, this place doesn't have any water LOL, you have to get it next door at the supermarket. I guess technically the broth has water in it.
Ken C — Google review
You can smell the rich broth the moment you approach this old timey stall in the tiny alleyway~ We ordered both the “clear” and “braised” beef noodles. I actually liked the clear broth better, but the braised beef was more flavourful. They are served in large portions, so for us three ladies, we wished we had ordered two bowls to share instead. We arrived when it happened to be raining heavily at about 4.30pm, so we were served a table instantly in the otherwise full dining area. By the time we were slurping up our noodles at 5pm (the rain had lightened up around this time), there was a long queue of 15 people in line. You can order extra side dishes at the restaurant but they ran out of everything except boiled peanuts by the time we arrived — so come earlier (perhaps for lunch) on weekends if you’d like to order something other than beef noodles!

This place is a hidden gem, located in a very small alley and having won multiple beef noodle awards. It’s truly something that you should stop by if you’re nearby, I went there on a morning and ordered the classic beef noodles. The beef was generously portioned, and the shop owners and keepers were very friendly, and they seem to be very welcoming to every single person including tourists.

Shin Yeh Taiwanese Cuisine Zhongxiao Branch is a nostalgic restaurant in the Zhongshan district, offering traditional Taiwanese cuisine since 1977. The old-school Chinese banquet hall ambiance attracts a mix of patrons, from families to tourists. Known for its famous pork liver and traditional Taiwanese noodles with taro, this spot also serves up tangyuan during special occasions like the Lantern Festival. It's a popular choice for celebrating special occasions or simply enjoying authentic Taiwanese flavors in a classic setting.
The food here is gorgeous. The flavours are so bold and balanced especially the pork lover an absolute must have. Their fried rice and deep fried oysters were really well done, crispy and smells so alluring. The sanbeiji however was a disappointment... The flavour was too overpowering and the chicken was really dry. If you want sanbeiji go elsewhere don't waste your time here. The desserts were all so heavenly velvety soft and the sweetness impeccably controlled. Would strongly recommend people to give this place a try, just not the sanbeiji!
Callum M — Google review
Traditional Taiwanese cuisine recommended by a Taiwanese friend. Overall I found their dishes has sugar as one of the dominant flavour which I’m not quite used to. The stir fried liver is interesting and quite tasty. The young octopus does not clean too well and there are part of clear spine and intestine should be cleaned and removed. The 3-spice chicken is disappointing - cooked too long and the chicken is not tender. The radish omelette is the most successful dish. Taiwanese sausage is sugar dominant. I guess if someone like sweetness in savoury dishes they would enjoy the dishes more.
Kaman K — Google review
Old school Taiwanese style setting. Food is average at best and not worth the price. Major disappointment is the service. The staff is rude and clear the plates even before finishing, and just clear without asking. The service staff almost hit my kid’s head with the tray while clearing the plates. Don’t bother going.

We got here on a Saturday evening but they managed to fit us in, even though we only had the table for an hour. The food came out quickly so that wasn't a problem in the end. We ordered a couple of dishes to share and were especially impressed by the fried aubergines with mince and the crispy pork ribs. The turnip pancake was good too but I found the duck rolls a bit too garlicky. Overall it was a great place and we wish we came with a bigger group to try out more things

A historic place. A historic Taiwanese food place. I go there from time to time, and it's always good food. The place is classic with its old lived-in history, but always nice and fascinating to go there. The food always good, and good, the only thing, I noticed a change in the desserts. This time they seem less sweet than usual. Too bad, but equally good The staff always polite and caring Recommended and recommended to try at least once

New American restaurant
Sushi restaurant
NCISushi is a trendy sushi spot in Taipei that specializes in Northern California-style sushi rolls and other Japanese dishes. The menu features an array of creative and colorful options, including the 'Puff Daddy' and 'BMW' rolls, as well as vegetarian choices and traditional nigiri. The portions are generous, and the flavors are distinct. The restaurant's concept combines American and Japanese styles, offering a unique dining experience.
food never disappoints, been here twice already, and would definitely visit for the third time. service can be improved. things to note is some sushi can be similar in flavor, so if you prefer variations in your food, please read the components thoroughly.

The best tasting sushi I have ever experienced!! The staff were super friendly and helped us with our order. The sushi and fried chicken were absolutely delicious! The cream cheese in the sushi was a personal favourite. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Great way to end our two week trip in Taiwan.

Definitely a nice place to dine in with friends and family. Overall food is ok (maybe came here with high expectations); one thing for sure - I m not a too sweet person, so some of the dishes here are very sweet (for me); when you order, good to always ask 1st. Among the dishes that I had order, fried fish skin and their specialty BMW roll were the best.

Very American-style sushi, pretty good overall. It can get a bit heavy after eating eight pieces, so it’s better if everyone orders different flavors to share. The server was very attentive with refilling tea.

Flavour bomb sushi. Up there with some of the best sushi I have had for this style. However the dessert stole the show. The fried donught with ice-cream was amazing. I also really enjoyed the chef special salmon snack. Staff were also super friendly and nice.

Probably the best (American style)sushi place in Taipei, the quality is very consistent every time I go, either we're in a group or with my wife the service is always fast which is always a nice surprise. It can get a bit loud during peak times but other than that it's a great place to eat good sushi.
Matias B — Google review
The sushi portions are a "States size" compared to other places here, and the taste feels just like it does in the U.S.! So memorable 🤤

Update in 2024: the last time I visited the restaurant is 5 years ago and they’ve moved to a new location! The classic dishes are kept and the whole ambiance and service leveled up even more✨ the menu is very detailed with ingredients so all you have to do is choose the roll you like and enjoy a good taste bud show when you taste it! 2019: Great service and hospitality. They provide very generous service, and the waiters even tell me when toilet is available instead of keeping me waiting in front of the door.

Taiwanese restaurant
Fujin Tree Taiwanese Cuisine & Champagne (Songshan) is a standout restaurant in Taipei, offering a unique blend of international flavors and local Taiwanese ingredients. The ambiance is exceptional, with a mellow and plant-filled setting that adds to the dining experience. The menu features innovative fusion dishes like the signature Truffle Beef Noodles, which puts a luxurious twist on a classic Taiwanese dish.
Reservation required. No obvious signboard so a bit difficult to locate the place. But it is just around the corner. I booked the wrong day but was able to be seated as it was weekday, so just waited for some time for them to prepare the table. I would say all dishes we ordered are spectacular, the pineapple chicken soup tasted unique. This branch itself is not huge, and it can be noisy at times when there are bigger groups of customers. Service is good, they checked on us a few times. Personal favourite: bitter gourd with salted egg.
Rachel C — Google review
The foods are definitely amazing. The service is just okay as it looks like we are being pushed to leave the table while our dinner time has been nearly an hour only. I would recommend to go in a bigger group (mine is only 2 persons), so that you can enjoy more dishes and longer dining time.

Wow! We didn't had reservations (must have) so we end up in private room with minimum order (high). The food was AMAZING, I think the best from all Taipei trip. The service was superb, but private room AC was freezing. They was kind to provide me a blanket.

A great Taiwanese restaurant that adds creativity to its dishes while staying very authentic. Every dish was cooked perfectly—fresh and full of flavor. The Braised Dongpo Pork with Candied Dates was stewed to perfection and literally melted in mouth. The Butterfish with Rice Vermicelli had a rich, flavorful broth, and the freshness of the fish paired beautifully with the noodles. The Stir-Fried Prawns with Peeled Chili and Scrambled Eggs was also a must-order, the flavors blended together perfectly. Other highlights included the Boiled Chicken with Sauce, Crispy Egg Tofu, Stir-Fried Vegetables with Wax Apple, and Sweet and Sour Pork with Lychee—all equally delicious. Since this restaurant has earned a Michelin star for five consecutive years (since 2021), the price is on the higher side, but it’s absolutely worth it if you want to enjoy a warm, cozy dinner with friends.
Popotatoes — Google review
This restaurant lived up to its Michelin star rating as the food was top notch in flavor, variety and freshness. It does not have ornate presentation but has good size sharing portions. It was good to see a mix of locals and tourists which gave it a good vibe. Reservations are highly recommended as it is usually full and venue is on the small. They have several liquor options to pair the meals with and the menu lists those recommendations next to each selection.
Oscar F — Google review
This was hands down one of the best meal I had during our trip to Taiwan. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious— from the cordia vegetables to the cripy egg tofu dish, their fried vermicelli, and who might’ve thought that runny egg yolk and mapo tofu is such a great combinations. Every bite was a highlight. Dishes were balanced, ingredients very fresh and quite generous portion size. My kids especially love their matcha parfait. It was so good that we almost ordered a second one. Would recommend dining with four or more people, so you can try and share few more dishes. It is on the pricier side as they have minimum spending per person, but I’d highly recommend this place. Reservation is also essential. Additionally, the waitstaff were incredibly warm and attentive, making the dining experience even better. This was an excellent first visit, and we look forward to coming back again one day.
Vibricia P — Google review
Lots of street food and we decided it was time to try a nicer restaurant for a change. This restaurant is located 10 mins from Taipei Arena in a little quieter area. The restaurant is clean and we had a nice table at the corner. The food was excellent. 口水雞is definitely my favourite. The waitress was very nice and helpful and gave us her recommendation since this was our first time there. Overall a very pleasant experience. It’s a little pricey but the quality was there
Ray — Google review
We come here because it is a 1 Michelin star, we expect the food is not going to be cheap. however, for a restaurant at that price range , they have a lot of improvement to be done. we book the table a long time ago , but we only seated just right outside the washroom, it isn't smelly or anything just it is odd that they would sit is there when there are other empty table available. They wouldn't understand simple English , and since there are no English menu , I need to translate everything to my partner and they wouldn't even stop to give me time to translate. Foods are tasty but nothing to bring home, they could easily charge 40% off the price and gave me 50% off the portion instead . the set up of the restaurant most likely for smaller group of customers but the dish size is for 6+ people, you couldn't enjoy much of variety. Also, their vegetarian dishes had meat or fish in it , you need to ask to remove them if you are vegetarian, so odd, we spend over TWD 6000 for 2 people, definitely won't go back if nothing changes

When in Taipei, make sure to visit SHI YUN Taiwanese Fried Chicken Main Store for a delightful culinary experience. The most popular item on the menu is the salt pepper chicken, which comes boneless and generously portioned. While the seasoning leans towards the lighter side, the overall flavor is satisfying. The fried calamari and sweet potatoes are also available but may not be as impressive as other offerings. For a fun dining experience with friends, consider trying out their variety of fried items served on paper.
Been here countless times during my stay in taiwan few years ago, and just came here again recently. The food taste didn’t change at all, it’s still one of my favorite comfort foods (unhealthy one😂). Best part is that you can add your own extra seasoning to make it more salty and spicy. Loveee the soft tofu and chicken the best. Should definitely come here if you haven’t already been before !
Mugsey — Google review
We ordered through Uber Eats and it took a while to arrive, which may skew the rating a bit due to fried food should be eaten hot. Nonetheless, some of the items we’d ordered were good and others were so so. The egg tofu (just a name as there was no egg in it), the sweet rice stuffed in pig intestines and cucumbers (yes, you’ve read that correctly and we didn’t know you can deep fry cucumbers) were very good. I guess the old saying “it’s true that anything deep fried is good” has some truth to it. Others such as tempura and chicken were just okay.
Big C — Google review
This one is 100% recommended & must try!! They sells Taiwanese fried chicken and the other fried stuff. The squid and chicken taste really good. Besides, they also sell a tasty curry rice! If you buy the curry rice, they provides a free drink.
Gede D — Google review
Excellent fried chicken and other fried companion food was also tasty. The freshly chopped, deep fried garlic lifted the taste by a notch. Strongly recommended. Service can be a bit slow but mostly because they made every single order a fresh batch. Worth the wait.
Nancy B — Google review
Unknowingly ordered 300NTD worth of food here. It is very easy to over order if you want to try a variety of items. Chicken was good, though not the best. Love the french beans and shisamo.
RCSC — Google review
Got the fried chicken (no bones) and the fried calamari (squid?) And fried sweet potatoes. Overall, seasoning was nice but maybe on the lighter side. Chicken was yummy and the portion for 60NT was big. I would skip the squid next time, it's like a huge chunk of squid and not tentacles and thus tastes really bland like chewing an eraser. It seems like a lot of fun eating a bunch of fries stuff on a piece of paper with a bunch of friends in their sitting area. 😍👍
Vivian S — Google review
I think this restaurant just a normal Taiwan style fried chicken stand...not many differents to others, but the foods are still great! Highly recommend curry rice with fried chicken if you want to fill up your belly,or you can grab some chicken pop corns for a snack
詹皇誠 — Google review
The best item here is the fish balls. They are huge and substantial. Close seconds are the glutinous stuff: sweet taro mochi and sticky rice sausage. The skewers have the perfect amount of breading, and always come out hot and fresh despite the crowds. They are not saucy but more the dry and crispy type which they do so well. You can switch it up with a side of curry to soak up the grease. Green beans are the best vegetable pairing imo. There is downstairs seating with stools at a couple high tops/bar.

Wenzhou Street Radish Pancake is a popular local spot in Taipei known for its handmade savory pancakes. Despite the long queues, the service is fast, and the reward of a hot and crispy pancake filled with either green onions or crunchy daikon makes it worth the wait. Locals often buy multiple pancakes to take home. The pancake is quite large and filled generously, making it a satisfying snack. Customers enjoy eating while watching squirrels in a nearby forest park.
Excellent radish cake deep fried style. Best to eat while hot and fresh. Put some hot sauce on it to accentuate the radish flavor. I got there right at opening at 7am so only waited a couple minutes!
DANNY L — Google review
The dough is pan fried until crispy and the radish inside is plentiful. The size is quite big compared to other places. However I find the filling to be a bit too raw and slightly bland. The sauce definitely helps with it. Overall it is pretty good and worth a try. There aren’t any indoor seating but there are a few benches in front of the shop.
Yu-Ting — Google review
Haven’t had stuffed deep-fried daikon (white radish) like this before, super satisfying and full of flavor. A great spot for daikon lovers. One piece is quite filling with super cheap price, perfect for breakfast or a quick snack during the day. Best with a splash of light soy sauce or spicy fermented bean paste, both go so well with it. There are a few seats right in front of the shop too. On colder days, the line can get long, but they’re quick and efficient, even if the staff don’t seem like so friendly. Still, they get the job done well.
Em E — Google review
6/6/2025 I went back again around 1:00 p.m.. but the radish pancake has a lot more dough like in the previous review. So the inconsistency of thin radish pancake dough would be your luck of who is making the pancakes. Also realize that you could add an egg to the radish pancake, instead of on the green onion pancake. Which I think egg on the green and in pancakes tastes better. 6/1/2025 I realize the reason why the radish pancake has less radish. It is because both time I went there right before they're closing and they don't have much ingredients left so they try to stretch as much as possible. So you want regular amount of radish in the pancake. You should go between the hours of 12:00 noon to 5 pm. Old For some reason their radish pancake has less radish then before. No it has more dough and less radish so from the outside he still look the same.
Totoro T — Google review
A good friend told us about this place for the best daikon radish cakes. After walking around the near by YongKong (永康街)shopping district, we went for it. The cakes are filled with daikon radish, the skin is crispy on the outside and soft in the inside, the turnip dough is very fresh and tasty. At 40 TWD a piece, it is really a bargain. No wonder there is always a long line in front of the food shop! It is not a sit-down restaurant, only a couple of benches in front. The service is quick. Very good value!!
Jeff C — Google review
My pictures don’t really do this place justice. This is a seriously good spot for scallion pancakes. The pancakes are deep fried, and you have the choice of whether or not to add an egg. I only tried the scallion pancake, but it was flaky and delicious, lots of fresh scallions, and very delicious. It is pretty oily since it is deep fried, but definitely worth a visit. The egg was soft and juicy too, not often I have deep fried eggs. Price is extremely reasonable. Definitely recommend.
Anthony W — Google review
Most definitely worth the half an hour wait in line for freshly made radish bun and scallion pancakes. The daikon radish filled puffs are crisp on the outside and have a great fresh radish taste. My favorite was still the scallion pancake. I will make sure to taste the egg pancake and the sweet bun filled with red bean paste.

Radish pancake 4/5 — decent radish shreds Red bean cake 4/5 — pretty good but thick skin Onion pancake 4/5 — good onion flavor, but not flaky. Lots of onion Egg pancake 2/5 — too oily and thick, only good with hot sauce Overall the stuff is very oily since it’s fried, but good once in a while

Yong Kang Sliced Noodles is a popular noodle shop in Taipei, known for its excellent knife-cut noodles. The noodles are freshly sliced in-house and can be enjoyed in various dishes such as beef noodle soup, tomato soup, hot and sour soup, or with sesame sauce for a vegetarian option. The service is friendly and accommodating, allowing customers to share a bowl without requiring a minimum order.
Recommend by a friend. A delicious lunch (with AC 🤭). I ordered the sour and spicy soup with knife cut noodles (thicker and chewier noodles) [酸辣湯加刀削麵] and my companion ate the beef in tomato soup. We added seaweed, tofu noodles (?), and cold tofu with a preserved egg as our side dishes. Ordering was pretty straightforward: mark the order sheet with what you want and hand it in to the front. If you want sides (additional cost), grab it and bring it to your table (they will add it onto your bill). You pay after you eat!

Great place to get taiwanese beef noodle soup and pork dumpling soup. Menu is only in Chinese, but with the help of Google translate we were just fine. Lots of sides you can take, buffet-style. Would highly recommend!
Arzu S — Google review
Rich soup, al dente homemade noodles, with chunky and tender beef. The soup is not overpowering, not as salty/msg compared to others, it’s slightly clearer and easy to finish the whole bowl. Very generous portion.
Mavis C — Google review
One of the better beef noodle places in this area and they also have dumplings and some other dishes, which means you can get more than just beef noodles here. A bit more expensive than some of the other beef noodle places in the area, but also bigger portions if you order the large serving.
TheLostSwede ( — Google review
Fav beef noodle soup spot thus far Hype is worth it - the noodles were exactly as I’d hope, light and springy and chewy and rly held the flavor of the soup well. The tendons were chewy and creamy and the beef was tender as well. Incredible flavor!! Don’t get the sesame wontons - they were terrible. Weird flavor that didn’t quite taste like sesame and there was barely any meat in the wontons. Bleh The side dishes were good tho- particularly liked the bamboo and eggplant! We walked in on a Monday evening ~7p and we were seated immediately.

Great place. Great food. Friendly waiters. Self service to get the utensils and sauce. A "must-visit" restaurant if one is at Da'an district. (Update in Aug 2025) Revisited after 1 year, the nostalgia feeling is there, they maintain the same quality on taste and service.

It’s a very good Chinese Shanxi Restaurant in Taipei. It modified the tastes from traditional salty and oily to lighter and healthy way without losing its originality. The combination of spinach and A-Vegetable is very tasty and healthy. The dumplings are also very delicious that the waiter always recommends to eat without spicy. However, if you like spicy, you may ask for chilly sauce. Different noodles taste differently. It’s a very good restaurant to have in Taipei.

Din Tai Fung, a renowned steamed dumpling and noodle specialist, originated in Taiwan in 1972 and has since expanded globally. The restaurant's Hong Kong location even earned a Michelin star. Known for its exceptional steamed dumplings, the extensive menu also offers dim sum, noodles, and soups. One of their signature dishes is the classic pork xiaolongbao, but they also offer more contemporary versions like pork and truffle dumplings.
Fantastic experience at Din Tai Fung 101! Being Indian, I was so happy to find flavors here that I really enjoyed. The dumplings, egg fried rice (veg, shrimp & pork), and buns were delicious. Service felt 5-star – from covering my bag to keeping the tea flowing. Loved the cute robots 🤖 and the chefs top hygiene. MUST TRY‼️‼️ And Yes, you need to queue up before dining in. Recommend going there during weekdays. I was there waiting for only 20 minutes during weekdays on Tuesday. Theres a QR code in your waiting number, just scan it to look at the current calling number. In the meantime, I recommend walking around the area in 101 tower. Once your waiting number was called, just hand over your number, the waitress will guide you to your table and serve you tea🍵 I personally wanna try out the most iconic dishes, so I ordered 5 Xiao Long Bao (original flavour) and 5 Dim Sum and 1 Prawn Fried Rice 🍤, which is the best portion for one person like me. There was a sort of guide note that will teach you the steps to eat xiao long bao, you gotta try it for the best experience, truly delicious 👍 Overall it was a truly wonderful experience to dine in Din Tai Fung restaurant.

Service was efficient and friendly, and everything came out piping hot. Definitely worth the wait—iconic spot that lives up to its reputation!

Our group of 10 (from Idaho, USA) had a wonderful dining experience! The wait time was around 2hrs, which seems long, but it gave us an opportunity to take in all the shops in the area. It was my first experience of being seated by a robot and ordering exclusively from an app/QR code - while it was kinda cool. I think there is something to be said for personal service. Overall the food was amazing (or group ordered approx 22 items from the menu) We at family style and just passed dishes around the table. The atmosphere was a bit lacking as we were seated in a separate area of the restaurant that was somewhat closed off from the main dining area…I believe this was to accommodate our larger group. Food 5-star, wait time 2-star, atmosphere 4-star, and service 4-star. Would we go again? Definitely!!!

Like a good tourist, we had to check out Din Tai Fung in Taiwan. The line for this place was yuge. 2 hour + wait for dinner on a Saturday. We grab a ticket and then wandered around the mall to pass the time. They had all the usual classics DTF is known for. The menu did seem to have some additional dumplings and variety of vegetables that I have not seen in the states. As for the food itself, didn't taste all that different. The thing I would say though is that the service here is top notch, wayyyy better than other locations I have been to. They are super attentive and on top it, which was much appreciated.

MUST TRY!! Can't say even one negatif point, except the queue was so long. Prepare your visit and take a ticket first. We got the table after 55 mins waiting. But foods and services all are top-notch. So yum! That's why they're called as the best dumplings in the world! Must try when you visit Taipei.

Since LVMH purchased Din Tai Fung, the quality of the dropped significantly and I have not visited Din Tai Fung anymore. I have to tell you, the original Shao long is fantastic in Taiwan. The taste is just as I remembered and the reason I loved their Shao long bao. I went there around 3.30 PM and no waiting time at all! Didn't expect that! Later in the evening around 6.30 PM, the waiting time was more than 40 minutes. Hehe...

We knew what to expect price-wise, given the restaurant's reputation, but the portions were a different story altogether. Many of the dishes, including the fried rice, were generously sized - enough for two people to share. We didn't quite anticipate the sheer amount of food we'd be getting, but it was a pleasant surprise! However, there was another surprise in store for us - the service charge. Let's just say we had a good laugh about it after realizing how much it added to our bill. Despite the unexpected costs, the service itself was top-notch. We arrived at 11:20 am and were seated within just 5 minutes, which was impressive. The food, of course, was the real star of the show. The fried rice was absolutely delicious, and the xiao long bao was incredibly tasty. Each bite was a delight, and the flavors were well-balanced and rich. It was clear that the chefs at Din Tai Fung 101 take their craft seriously, and the results show. Overall, while the portions and service charge might have been unexpected, the quality of the food and service made it well worth the visit. If you're a fan of Din Tai Fung, the Taipei 101 location is definitely worth checking out!

Steak house
Danny's Steakhouse in Taipei is known for its delicious steaks and economical dinner set menu. The steaks are cooked to perfection, with wonderful moisture and tenderness, accompanied by three different sauces that add extra layers of flavor. The appetizers, including perfectly seared scallops and well-tempered tuna, are also highly praised. While the mushroom cappuccino is described as rich, it may lack depth in taste.
My recent dining experience at The Godfather Steakhouse was truly exceptional. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was captivated by its sophisticated ambiance and elegant decor. The menu offered a diverse selection of steak options and meticulously crafted appetizers, each dish showcasing the chefs' expertise and creativity. I particularly savored their signature steaks, which were cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The service at The Godfather Steakhouse was impeccable. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, providing personalized recommendations and ensuring that every aspect of the dining experience was seamless. The attention to detail and professionalism of the service staff greatly enhanced the overall enjoyment of the meal. The atmosphere of the restaurant was inviting and comfortable, making it the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience with friends or loved ones. Whether seeking a refined evening out or a special celebration, The Godfather Steakhouse exceeded all expectations, leaving a lasting impression. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone in search of exceptional cuisine and top-notch service.

Danny’s Steak House delivered another outstanding experience on our Saturday night visit. Despite our packed travel schedule, the restaurant staff kindly handled our appointment changes, which set a positive tone for the evening. Last time I dined here was before COVID, and I had genuinely fond memories of both the food and service. I was a bit worried about whether the post-pandemic quality would match my previous experience, but those concerns vanished the moment our meal began. The breads, salads, and soups were all delicious and freshly made, setting the stage for an enjoyable dinner. Our main course, the dry-aged steak, came out a tad closer to medium instead of the medium rare we ordered, but the flavor was so rich and satisfying that it hardly mattered—the dry age process truly brought out the depth of the beef. Dessert was also a highlight: beautifully presented and excellent in taste, though I was a little disappointed there wasn’t any decaf coffee available. Thankfully, the iced tea was a refreshing substitute. Overall, Danny’s Steak House continues to impress with excellent service and consistently delicious food. I fully intend to return next time I’m in Taipei. Thank you to the team for making our night so memorable!

Excellent steak. We had the dry aged ribeye. Good control of heat to get a decent crust while still med rare on the inside. Grilled plain for full flavour. Add your own salt and other finishings if you so wish. That's the way we like it (a ha). The wine pairing of 3 glasses was well though out. Our waitress (not sure if she's also The sommelier), brought different pours for each of us depending on what was ordered. Pairing was very good (but not "Excellent" - for me to say Excellent pairing, the sum Must be greater than the 2 parts. Not merely wine that "goes with" a particular dish). Now for the downside which compels me to rate the atmosphere 2 stars. It's a nice restaurant in a nice neighborhood for sure. But could you at least Try To Pretend that you're not SQUEEZING IN as many tables as you possibly can in the limited amount of space. The tables are so closely spaced that it resembles a tuck shop. For a restaurant at this price point it is bordering on craziness.

Had a superb dining experience with Danny’s Steakhouse today. We ordered a Michelin set menu for two, which included two sets of starters, soup, two servings of beef (mains), and two desserts. The starters were a pleasant surprise, especially the seared scallop, which paired wonderfully with the corn purée. The lobster was also very fresh and perfectly cooked. Both mains were cooked to medium rare, preserving the taste and tenderness of the meat. As for the desserts, the chocolate mousse surprised me. I expected it to be quite sweet, but the mascarpone cheese complemented the coffee jelly exceptionally well. The services were always swift and polite. Highly recommend the restaurant for a top notch dining experience!

Pros: Easy parking garage. Friendly greetings. We were given Booth seating which has more privacy. No extra charge for water! Delicious starters. Perfect lava cake. To improve: dry aged steak was ok. Not as impressive as the starter or dessert. service was rushed. Someone was still eating when they tried to clean the plate.

Steakhouse featuring high-quality steaks with rushed service in a compact environment Food: (5/5) For lunch, we ordered two lunch sets: the Japan Wagyu "A5" Filet Mignon Steak (120g) and the In-house USDA Prime "Dry-Aged" NY Strip (14 days and above). Each set comes with your choice of a starter, soup, side, and desert with tea/coffee. We started off strong with the seared scallop and grilled albacore, which were both excellent. The soups were unimpressive - the mushroom cappuccino felt like a gimmick and didn't have much umami taste while the minestrone could've used more seasoning. Both steaks were perfectly cooked - the Wagyu was extremely marbled and melted in your mouth and the Dry-Aged NY Strip had great beef flavor. The sides (pan-fried zucchini and the sautéed mushrooms) were just solid. The deserts were excellent. The marscarpone and coffee parfait offered the perfect combination of crispy cocoa and cantucci (biscotti) paired with QQ mochi with various coffee flavors. The basque cake was paired with a lovely pistachio ice cream. We could've gone without the soups and sides but would've loved larger portions on the impressive appetizers. Service: (3.5/5) Service was rushed throughout the meal. We were immediately seated (despite arriving early for our meal) without a warm welcome. Waitstaff did explain the menu and certain dishes, but very much in haste. While we appreciated the quick service and attentive clearing of plates, we felt harried during our visit. Towards the end, service even started serving dessert and post-meal beverages, before we had finished our savory sides! Atmosphere: (3.5/5) The interior of Danny's Steakhouse is cramped. There's a small bar area at the front of the restaurant, a main seating area with two rows of tables, and two auxiliary seating on the sides. While Danny's features a raised ceiling with floor-to-ceiling windows, the table arrangement felt confined - you could intimately understand the conversation of the next-door table. The seats and tables themselves are comfy and covered with high-quality linens. The his/hers bathrooms are single-person use and compact. The restaurant was playing loud upbeat music, which clashed with the upscale nature of a steakhouse. Value: (4/5) The lunch set meals offers plenty of food. While the prices are high compared to other local restaurants, Danny's offers a reasonable value proposition given the high-quality of their steaks and impressive appetizers.

Not one of the best steakhouses around in Taipei but great given the price point. Worth a try if your in the area, The ambience of the restaurant provides a stylish and warm place for an enjoyable dinner with loved ones. Classic dishes and something for everyone. Last but the least, the food is delicious and well presented.

I heard this is the best steak house in Taipei, is it really that great?! Honestly, I donno. However, it is definitely a great one, excellent services with great food, most likely could meet your expectation with this price range. 😅 With partnered parking slot in the same building, convenient. Recommended to try it out if you're around.

Located in a plush high-rise, W Taipei offers vibrant and playful accommodations along with top-notch amenities. The hotel is renowned for its beef noodles, which gained popularity after being served at a star-studded wedding held at the venue. The Niou Rou mian dish is a must-try and can be enjoyed at the Woo Bar on the 10th floor, known as a gathering spot for Taiwan's showbiz personalities.
Awesome hotel. Great breakfast buffet (changes daily) and has a lot of options, especially for health conscious folks. They were even giving out fresh wheatgrass shots one day. Gym and spa are great. Machines are all working and same with the spa that has different temp pools, dry sauna as well as steam room. Hotel room is nice and clean, maid and room service were excellent. Service overall was a 5 star feel. From check in to check out.

Definitely a nice hotel in a prime location! Room is very spacious and housekeep was punctual. Hotel staff spoke good English as expected in a 5 star hotel. It is just lame that every hotel check has a tip line. It is abit odd to see in Taiwan.

Location was convenient. Service staff generally helpful especially the bell boys. Not too knowledgeable on recommendations though. Aircon temperature hard to adjust it’s mostly too cold. The double beds room bathroom door designed to not close fully (yes seriously), can see partial of the bath tub so it’s hard to use even with family not a good design pls take note. Payment by card had to be by member and not even spouse else the bonvoy points will not be credited (rigid policy).

I was a bit disappointed with the W Taipei. I don’t think it’s on the same level as other W Hotels in Asia or Europe. The front desk staff isn’t particularly warm, is very indifferent. The pool is beautiful, but the water is freezing cold. With Taipei’s hot and humid weather, the one thing you look forward to after a long day out is taking a refreshing swim — but the icy water makes that impossible. The location is good, right in the Xinyi area. The spa, however, is excellent — definitely the hotel’s highlight. What really shocked me was that the hotel charges for basic amenities like a dental kit, comb, razor, and shower cap. A toothbrush and toothpaste cost $3, the comb also $3, the razor $5, and the shower cap another $3. That’s truly shameful. Paying around $500 per night and still being charged for such basic items is absurd. Shame on you, W Taipei! These charges feel petty and cheap, completely out of character for a luxury brand. It’s embarrassing to see a W Hotel nickel-and-diming guests like this, especially when all the other W Hotels around the world provide these amenities for free. It’s definitely not worth what they charge. For the same price, you can stay at much better and more distinctive hotels in Taipei.

Best hotel within the Xinyi district prime location. One of the best outdoor pool with bar and lounge and buffet restaurant on same floor. Always top notch service and very well managed with good maintenance. Always my top selection.
J D — Google review
I stayed at the W Hotel Taipei and overall I was impressed by the property. The location is excellent, right in the heart of Xinyi District with an MRT station downstairs and many attractions nearby. The facilities are modern and luxurious. I especially liked the room layout, with the toilet, shower, and sink all separated so that multiple people could use them at the same time. The room had features you expect from a high-end hotel such as electric curtains, ambient lighting, and spacious design. The breakfast buffet was also very good, offering both Western dishes and Taiwanese specialties, and the in-room dining was well prepared and tasty. However, I experienced two service issues that were disappointing. The first was at breakfast. When I asked for a latte, the staff used the fully automatic coffee machine, even though the espresso machine was free and not in use. Later, I saw another guest, clearly a Western customer, request a coffee, and his was made with the espresso machine. When I asked again, they still used the automatic machine for me and told me both machines were the same. At home I own a full espresso setup and know the difference very well, and they are not the same. This inconsistency left me wondering whether guests are treated differently. The second was at room service. I asked a staff member for a few extra bottles of water. Instead of simply accommodating the request, she questioned me, saying there were already eight bottles in the room, was that not enough. With three people staying, two bottles each is not a lot. More importantly, this is a hotel that costs over 10K TWD per night, and debating with a guest over a few bottles of water felt unnecessary and unwelcoming. In summary, the hardware and dining were excellent, but the service attitude and training clearly did not match the five-star standard.

Stayed here quite a few times, always had a good experience. Gym is pretty huge for Taipei. Pool is outdoors and can be a little cold. Friendly service at front desk.
Shawn B — Google review
W Taipei is truly one of the most exceptional and unique luxury hotels in the city, especially following its major renovation last year. The refreshed design reflects the new W Hotel 2.0 aesthetic — still vibrant and energetic, but with a more refined, luxurious, and contemporary atmosphere. It feels less like a party hotel and more like a stylish social hub for a youthful yet discerning crowd who appreciates design, comfort, and high-end service. I stayed in the Fantastic Suite with a Taipei 101 view, and it lived up to its name in every way. It’s a corner suite with a super unique layout — the bed faces a stunning view of Taipei 101 with a deep soaking tub placed right in front of it, letting you enjoy the skyline from both the bath and the bed. I spent hours simply relaxing there. The suite also features a generous separate living area, perfect for unwinding or entertaining. The signature W Hotel bed was plush and cozy — it felt like sleeping on a cloud. During my stay, I had the chance to view the Extreme WOW Suite (presidential suite), which was on another level altogether. It’s a bi-level penthouse that feels more like a luxurious New York loft than a hotel suite. Located just below the rooftop restaurant and bar, it offers jaw-dropping views of the city and Taipei 101 through its double-height windows. The space includes a private sauna, jet tub, spinning bike area, wine cellar, kitchenette, and formal dining space, along with a dramatic staircase leading to the master bedroom. There’s even an option to connect it with another guestroom — it’s the kind of suite that would easily host an intimate high-end gathering. I also had an incredible French set dinner at Season by Olivier E., the hotel’s main restaurant. It was refined and elegant.. The same space serves breakfast, and after two weeks in the US, it was such a delight to return to a warm buffet spread — especially with a full lineup of delicious local and regional Asian options. One of the best breakfast experiences I’ve had in Asia. In the afternoon, I enjoyed the Sun Chaser summer afternoon tea at WOOBAR, but the setting was vibrant and beautiful. The lounge area overlooks the pool and has a glowing atmosphere during golden hour. At night, it transforms into a futuristic bar space with moody lighting and city views. Throughout the hotel, the public spaces are filled with contemporary artworks and thoughtful design touches. Everything feels impeccably maintained — you can tell it’s one of the most premium hotels in Taipei. The location is also unbeatable, directly above a busy MRT interchange that connects you easily to Taipei Main Station and the high-speed rail to Taoyuan Airport. Yes, it’s a splurge — but W Taipei absolutely delivers, from world-class views and cutting-edge design to unforgettable suites and top-tier dining. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a modern luxury experience in the heart of Taipei.

Kitcho is a cozy Japanese restaurant in Taipei that offers an intimate dining experience with its stylish atmosphere and traditional decor. The restaurant is known for its award-winning sushi made with Niigata rice seasoned with three kinds of vinegar, as well as other delicacies like cod sperm with egg custard and uni gunkan maki. Chef Kyo Hsu, who has strong connections with Japanese suppliers, ensures the freshest ingredients are used in the dishes.
A delicious omakase dinner that’s worth the value. You will leave this place very full. Every dish was perfectly craft by the chefs with a mix of sashimi, 6 pieces of nigiri, tempuras, cooked food and starters. The shrimp was delicious with the roe made into the sauce, very generous portions of uni and high quality toro. It’s my go-to sushi in Taipei and will definitely come back!

This was my far the best sushi I have ever experienced in my life. The clearly highly experienced chef provided us each dish with what it was and how to eat it. At least half of the items were seafood that I had not eaten before and it was all excellent and above expectations. The location is good and small enough for a very personal experience. The service by all staff was amazing. It is clear that he entire experience is orchestrated and all staff are well versed in the expectations of their service. I would rate this 10 stars if that was possible.

It’s above average but underwhelming for its price. Service was great, people were attentive and very welcoming. They made sure you feel comfortable. Great ambiance and dining experience. Food was fresh and tasty, however, nothing was overly impressive or made me feel like it’s worth its price tag (7000+). There are other omakase places in the city with just as fresh and even tastier food for a cheaper price tag.

Chia Te Bakery is a must-visit spot for anyone exploring Taipei, especially those on the hunt for authentic Taiwanese treats. Renowned for its exquisite pineapple cakes, this bakery has been delighting visitors since 1975. Each square-shaped pastry features a soft, buttery crust enveloping moist and mildly sweet pineapple filling that’s simply irresistible.
Still my favourite Pineapple Pastry from Taiwan after all these years. It seems like there is always a queue, but it does move steadily as they only allow a certain number of customers in the shop at a time so you have an enjoyable shopping experience. Get an order list whike you wait, so you know what you want to buy. There are other pastry souvenirs too, with some that are limited per person
William L — Google review
ChiaTe is a well-known bakery and their premium packaging is perfect for souvenirs and delicious treats. If you buy directly at the store, you can mix different types of pastries in one box. Box sizes come in 6, 12, or 20 pieces. I really like their Egg Yolk Pineapple Pastry — the crust is soft, and the filling is rich and flavorful. I also enjoy the nougat green onion cookies. The cookies has a nice savory onion taste, and the nougat filling is just the right amount of sweet without being too sticky. I also tried the red bean glutinous rice cake, which was still warm when I got it. Surprisingly, it was really good — the rice cake was soft and chewy, and the red bean paste was smooth and tasty. The service is quick and friendly. It’s best to come a bit early so you have more pastry options and avoid the long lines. The shop is clean and well-organized, with clear labels and pricing for each item.

Amazing pineapple cakes and must have souvenirs if you’re visiting Taiwan/taipei. Expect to see a long line but it goes quicker than you would think. They have a large selection of pastries but I can only recommend their pineapple cakes there. They’re a cut above the rest and you can get them in very large servings. Do note that they have an expiry date and should be consumed within a week. I really recommend to have it within the first three days because of how status they are. The prices are bit more compared to your usual pineapple cakes at the supermarket.
Alan H — Google review
Worth to come here! The selections are massive. Feels like a kid in a candy store. Staff speaks english. Do ask for a order paper before line up outside. Line move fast, dont worry. Do come early for freshest batch!
Malvin H — Google review
If you want to buy their Pineapple Pastries AND Wife Cakes, you need to queue in as early as 7:00 AM. I went at about that time, and there was already a queue once I got there. Anyway, at 8:30 when the bakery opens, the line moves pretty fast. I would suggest that you already have what you want in mind so that you’ll be able to check out much faster. I was able to leave the store at about 9:15 because it took me awhile to decide what to get. Not bad. Verdict on what I bought: I’m not too much of a fan of egg flavoring in pastries, so I skipped out on buying a box of the Egg Yolk flavored pastries, and I’m glad I did. If you’re not a fan of those, you can definitely just buy individual packets for you to try but I wouldn’t recommend getting a box. I bought a box of the mixed Pineapple and Pineappple-Cranberry Pastries and MY GOSH — they were quite literally one of the best pastries I’ve had in Taiwan! I will definitely get more of these the next time I’m going back to Taiwan. And the WIFE CAKES were really good as well. Make sure you get the wife cakes because they’re limited!!! Overall, I’m quite happy and satisfied with what I bought! Chia Te is definitely one of the spots you should go to in Taiwan!!!
Jam — Google review
Chia Te is really the OG of Taipei pineapple tarts. The queue everyday shows that. If you don't want to queue, there are 2 ways 1. Come at night, about 1 hour before closing. Cons only have the basic items/long shelf life items, e.g. pineapple tarts, maybe sun cakes, sesame pastries. 2. If you are in Taipei at least for 4 days, order on your 1st day & collect on your 4th day. Order collection can only be done 3 days after ordering. If you want to soak in all the atmosphere of buying pineapple tarts at Chia Te, then come in the morning. Either from opening time at 08:30 (queue already formed before opening time) or at about 09:30-10:00. This is when some of the short life pastries will come out fresh. Usually it will disappear very fast. I still couldn't get the pork mung bean cake that I've been eyeing. Service is pretty good. There are staff to watch the door, and staff to help you if you need any help. You can create you own set or buy the pre-packed set. Note there are separate boxes for pineapple tarts & pastries, you can't use tart box for pastries & vice versa, just ask the staff. Payment can be done with cash / card. There is no tax refund here. Chia Te also provide packing boxes for extra fee. Tips: if you are buying pineapple tarts for yourself, I suggest to check out the plastic box tarts. They have shorter shelf life & some maybe a little bit crushed. It's much cheaper NTD 350 for 12 pieces and still tastes the same, just sans packaging.

Fine dining restaurant
Tou Tou An is a Japanese restaurant known for its kaiseki-style dining, offering a traditional multi-course meal that's perfect for small groups or couples. The restaurant's elegant simplicity is reflected in the artistic presentation of its colorful dishes, providing a memorable experience that typically lasts between two to three hours. It offers classy and creative Japanese fare without the high price tag or difficulty in making reservations often associated with Michelin-rated establishments.
A very good mix of authentic Japanese cuisine with local ingredients! You can tell there is a lot of effort put into the menu! Good food. Good privacy. Reasonable price. Very friendly staff. Almost everything is great. If I have to pick on something, maybe is the food coming to the table a little bit rushed.

A fine dining restaurant that serves very good Japanese food. There are not many tables but there are rooms that you could book in advance. The lunch sets range from NT$1500 to Nt$2500+. The staff will explain how the food were prepared with what ingredients and the presentation of the food are excellent. The dinner menu should be better. The rating should be 4.5 out of 5.

First time dine in here on a Sunday evening, Tou Tou An’s authentic/creative Japanese cuisines really amaze me. Been to many restaurants served with set menu, mostly decorate each course with colors and fancy side dishes, yet can’t really stands out the main dish, or sometimes messing up the definition of creativity. Tou Tou An avoided both of above, they did a great job balancing the taste of main and side dishes. Each course is delightful (we asked for low sodium, and we loved it!) and tickles taste buds. The portion is medium, I am 80% full after 9 courses plus 1 dessert on the house. We encountered 2 waitress serve our meals, the first one was great! Super friendly and explain each course patiently. Thanks to her we had a very good dining experience, hence the 5 stars!🙌🏼

If you find yourself in Taipei, make sure to try the Tian Jin Onion Pancake, a beloved street food that's a must-try according to locals and travelers alike. This scallion egg pancake is known as "cong you bing" in Mainland China and can be found at various night markets throughout the city. It's essentially a Taiwanese version of a sandwich, with crispy and flavorful pancake serving as the outer layer for your choice of fillings.
Okay the hype is real. This was hands down my favorite thing I ate on my recent Taipei food crawl. The pull-apart layers of the Taiwanese-style 抓饼 are more similar to roti canai, than to the Chinese scallion pancake (抓饼). Have (3) with basil, 🌿 finish within 1 mins. Cuz too yummy

the ladies here have a single minded focus on getting the customers their scallion pancakes ! they are like a machine, whipping out the FRESHEST, HOTTEST, SOFTEST, AND CHEWIEST pancakes ever. i found that since it was so fresh off the griddle, the exterior wasn’t really that crispy (but i don’t mind) and the texture was seriously phenOMENAL — i could chew it off with little resistance. the second you get it, you can smell the aromatic scallion and you can feel the greasiness through the bag — although it is oily, it’s not sickeningly so and the fluffy egg balances it out well. the corn was sweet and added a refreshing touch to the heavy flavour, but i don’t think i was really in the mood for that and i probably would’ve preferred more sauce because it was lacking saltiness. the fillings were quite generous though, and light spiciness was perfect too ! definitely the best scallion pancake i’ve ever had, at least in terms of freshness and texture.

We went at 8am on a Wednesday, and there was surprisingly no wait. The 2 ladies were nice, we started with one onion pancake with egg with basil, added chili and it was delicious! We liked it so much, we got a second. They put plenty of basil. They add a sweet oyster(?) sauce, a little less sauce for us and it would have been perfect. Would definitely go again.

I went to this place as recommendations and high popular onion pancake. If you’re coming not at the lunch / dinner time, the queue is less They make the pancakes really fast so mostly people willing to queue (even long queue) To me, taste is so so.. or it just not my favorite
Dhee D — Google review
Very fast service. Bought one pancake with ham, egg and everything. It definitely isn’t a universal dish to suit everyone’s taste buds, but I really enjoyed the pancake as a quick walking snack.
Samuel T — Google review
The two aunties are nice and was overworked due to the long line waiting so I give them 5 star. But their scallion pancake is nothing special. I cook frozen one as home and it tastes much better. So give it a go if no q to see for yourself, otherwise really not worth the hype.
Tran N — Google review
I tried both the original (1) and egg & cheese (5) pancakes and they were both delicious. You might find a queue and wait a few minutes but it’s definitely worth it. If you are visiting Taipei this spot should definitely be in your bucket list!

Taiwanese restaurant
French restaurant
Tairroir, located in Taipei and holding two Michelin stars, is the brainchild of Taiwan native Kai Ho. Having honed his skills at Guy Savoy's Singapore branch, Ho now applies French techniques to Taiwanese ingredients. The lunch and dinner set menus are reasonably priced and feature his signature dish: a luxurious twist on the local 'tea egg.' Additionally, during colder months, guests can inquire about an off-menu version of Taiwanese beef noodle soup.
3 stars Taiwanese fusion - overall we enjoyed but not sure if this is worthy of 3* Love their signature taro puree, sweet corn squid, crab and scallop. My least favourite would be the lobster which I feel it doesn’t go well with the green sauce.
ShuZhen C — Google review
Had the festive holiday menu. To be honest, not sure how it’s a 3-star restaurant. The food was quite mediocre. Most of the things weren’t anything special, the ribeye (main course) was quite lackluster. The desserts were also quite forgettable. The sommelier wasn’t very helpful in picking wines. There was 1 very interesting Taiwanese white wine though: lychee aroma but very crisp on the palette. The best thing was the celery foam on top of a warm nut-based soup. The food looks pretty though (photos attached). Also, the space was pretty small and I was surprised how close the tables were. It didn’t feel intimate, rather it felt like you could hear everyone’s conversations…

Loved this place!!! Definitely is a three star experience Each dish was well done and the flavors fit together deliciously The server was very knowledgeable as well and able to explain each dish extremely clearly She was also very attentive by noticing that we were left handed and put our utensils on the left side for us without us mentioning These little details made the experience especially special for us There is also a pairing that you can do We chose to try the non alcohol wine options There are 3 drinks that are non alcoholic but made from wine We strongly recommend the Pinot Noir!! Our favorites were the appetizers and desserts at the end However for us it is definitely a lot of food We were quite full by the end of our meal Tastes almost the same as red wine Make sure to make a reservation in advance!!!

It's only fitting that Tairroar is located right next to where Chef Andre's RAW used to be. The baton was passed to Chef Kai as far as the innovations techniques. The design is modern yet simplistic, bright yet calming, small yet cozy. We were seated next to the kitchen and we could glimpse into the heart of the restaurant through a glass window. The service was immaculate, our server was very accommodating, she explains each dish in both English and Mandarin. The pace of each course is spot-on, the entire 7 course Menu "Pong Pai" took under 3 hours. The appetizer starts with a bang, each element is visually striking: the gourd is refreshing, the clam pastry has unique texture, the bottarga is mild, the star jelly packs a punch. The octopus and asparagus dish feels like a drop from the apps in my opinion. I wonder if the sesame tofu fits the rest of the ingredients, it's too overpowering. The tea egg and congee is a simple Chinese breakfast but with French techniques elevate it to new heights. It tastes familiar but sophisticated. The flounder topped with a crispy layer of bread is not your regular fish sandwich casse croute snack. It's prepared at the perfect temperature without over cooking the fish. It's light and satisfying. The darling of the menu is decibel the lamb trio, prepared from 3 different cuts: saddleback, sirloin and filet. Great execution, the lamb does not taste gamey. The journey ends with a pear dessert which is a great fusion of Taiwanese and French influence. Al in all, it's a great experience. One suggestion would be to share the stories that tie the entire course. It would allow us to understand the inspiration of the menu.
Carl W — Google review
Absolutely earned its Michelin stars. Amazing story through Taiwanese food prepared with many classic French techniques. This is not Taiwanese street food, so please don’t expect that. There were an element or two in a few of the dishes that were less connected than others, but at this level of food that is pure subjective opinion. Exquisitely prepared. Wait Service was beyond reproach, sommelier could have been stronger in providing recommendations.
Evan B — Google review
It is a three star michelin, so I came here with the highest expectations. I had already had all of the dishes in the menu, so I was looking for their best version in the world. They were basically not, just one of them was "WOW", but the rest was just good. I, moreover, have a several small complains: - They asked us if we wanted to have an additional dish for 880 NTD. I am already paying 10000+, don't try to get easy additional money please! - We were two, so I am expecting I don't have to share the dish by myself, but to have single portions. - The service is pressing too much to bring the next dish, not letting you finish the course that they are bringing the next. - Gold is good electrical conductor, but it has no taste. At the end I believe it was more a 5000NTD than the 10k. (Water should be included in the price if you are already paying this much.)
Daniele C — Google review
Definitely not 3 star caliber. They made a big deal of me want more tea. No refill?!?!?! In the beginning they didn't ask for any special occasion celebration so during dessert I asked for a candle for birthday celebration and they couldn't accommodate. Service is lacking for this level of execution. Decent food for a one star level. Beautiful presentation, balanced flavors. It doesn't have the wow factor from what I expect for a 3 star.
Walo W — Google review
I took my mom and brother to dinner at Taïrroir: the service was excellent, but I was not impressed with the food. The appearance of some dishes was not enticing, and the food tasted bland. Of the six main dishes, only two stood out in flavor, presentation, creativity, and originality: the smoked pigeon and the pu’er tea organic egg. For dessert, the salted pineapple was exquisite in its combination of textures and flavors. The place is cozy and intimate, only 8 tables with a private dining area. 2 Michelin star restaurants are labeled as “Excellent cooking, worth a detour.” Maybe in the past, Taïrroir fit this description, but the current menu doesn’t live up to expectations.

Snack bar
Lan Jia Gua Bao Traditional Taiwanese Snack is a popular street food that has gained recognition in the global culinary scene. Resembling a hamburger, this traditional snack features soy-braised pork belly nestled between a delicate steamed bun, complemented by pickled mustard greens, coriander, and a sprinkle of crushed peanuts and sugar for added sweetness and texture.
Highly recommended! It’s really nice, the meat is well served with huge portion. Can choose to put nuts or coriander. Nuts brings some sweetness out of salty. If you don’t like sweet recommend not to put. 四神汤is really nice, must have it when it’s hot.

The his place is so good and it is a bit special to me because it is the first place I had a guabao. I recommend the 1/2 and 1/2. I really enjoy it. The feeling of grabbing a bao of this caliber on the go is magical. Obviously, it’s for a quick bite and not a real lunch or sit down place you should take your date.
James H — Google review
Really tasty , as a singaporean myself , I’m able to adapt to the food here. The Pork Dumplings is dryer than what we have in sg, but it’s compensated by mixing with the mee sua and eat it all together. The Gua pau is very unique as it have sweet crush peanut insides.
Cheang C — Google review
This was our first breakfast stop of the trip, and it was amazing! The prices are super reasonable — I got my noodles for only 65, and my boyfriend’s gua bao was just 80. The staff don’t speak much English, but they’re incredibly friendly and helpful. They guided us to our table, showed us how to order using the paper menu, and even helped us exchange our coins for cash, which was so kind. Thank you so much for the lovely experience!

My favourite gua bao ever!! The bun is so soft and fluffy and the meat so tender. You can choose the level of fattiness you want for the pork. The pickles and peanuts inside create a perfect balance with the richness of the pork. 10/10 spot. Have been twice now and would absolutely visit again. The service is also incredibly quick.
Stephanie Q — Google review
We got the half skinny half fat braised pork belly in steamed bun. It was so good with the cilantro and the peanuts. The meat was tender. I would get it again

We had the lean and fatty bun, and I personally think the fatty bun tastes better (but maybe less healthy). The bun themselves were pretty soft. Also had the Mian Xian which was pretty good. This shop is cash only too.

Bun is super soft. I ordered lean meats, soft & tender with a nice braised flavour, but not very rich. The meats r not so soft that it melts in my mouth, but I think coz I didn’t opt for the fatty 3 layers.

Dessert shop
Located in bustling Taipei city, Eastern Ice Store offers traditional Taiwanese ice desserts with a variety of topping options. The no-frills stop provides an authentic old-school experience, allowing customers to order a base and three toppings for a set price. While the shop can be busy with long queues, the wait is worth it for the refreshing shaved ice treats.
This was so delicious! 75 NT for my iced tofu pudding with 3 toppings of choice. I love that they have self serve sugar syrup and ice cubes. It’s a pretty big bowl! I chose taro balls, grass jelly and azuki red bean. They have 1 storefront for serving and 1 storefront (fairly large area) for sitting!

Walked past this place many times and finally got a chance to try this dessert shop. It’s cheap and refreshing, especially on a hot summer day. Their signature sweet soup with chewy tapioca pearls and toppings like taro balls, sweet potato balls, and red beans is simple but satisfying. Even though there’s nothing particularly fancy, it’s a great place to enjoy authentic Taiwanese-style desserts at a very reasonable price.
Earn S — Google review
Man, I really wish the ordering process wasn’t such a rushed, in-your-face vibe. Like, don’t just assume every customer knows your shop inside out and needs zero guidance. I was straight-up confused, staring at the menu like a deer in headlights, and your impatient side-eye didn’t help my ordering anxiety one bit. The Ice? Yeah, it’s legit tasty, no complaints there. But the service? Gotta dock you two stars for that.

My brother's ice store recommendation. He likes it and went here few times. The staff was friendly as always as my brother mentioned, cheap price, open until night, fast service, free ice, water and sugar refill, customize your own ice. I don't really much into this kind of ice but it was ok.
Felita G — Google review
A delicious dive into traditional Taiwanese shaved ice — toppings galore and textures that dance on your tongue. But wow, it’s sweet enough to file a sugar tax return. Maybe ask them to go easy on the syrup unless you’re training for a hummingbird diet.

Shabu-shabu restaurant
Hot pot restaurant
Orange Shabu 1 is an upscale Japanese-style hotpot restaurant in Taipei, offering a streamlined space with private dining booths. The menu features tender meat and fresh seafood, making it a great choice for lunch. Each table provides good privacy, and the servers offer detailed explanations of the dishes. The vegetables are praised for being fresh and sweet, while the lunch set is described as generous. Although not cheap, the quality of food is guaranteed at around 1200 NT$ per head.
I had hot pot with beef and vegetables, and everything was delicious. What really stood out was the attention to detail. The staff took care of the ready-boiled ingredients, kept sieving them out at the right time, and even cut the corn for me. Tea was served continuously, and I never felt unattended. Chef Hank was especially professional. His care and precision made the whole experience different from the usual hot pot places, where service is often more hands-off. Here, I truly felt looked after. At the end, the chef prepared a comforting congee from the hot pot broth, served with pickles, followed by fresh fruit and dessert. It was the perfect way to finish the meal. If you’re in Taipei and want hot pot with both excellent food and service that goes the extra mile, I highly recommend this restaurant.

This is one of the most popular shabu spots in Taipei. It’s very clean but also very plain so if you like that style, this is great. A little more expensive compared to other spots, but the quality of the seafood is very good.

I went there during a weekday lunch time. Reservation is not required. The price is quite high but the restaurant provides full services as they offer to cook seafood for you. After all good cooked, they add a bowl of rice to make congee. The taste is really good.

Amazing service! Server Emily was very nice to help us cook the entire set, peel the shrimps and slice the corn. All the items were super delicious. It's like hot pot fine dining. You can do it yourself ofc, but try asking the staff to help, makes everything better.

Ordered the beef short rib and beef tongue sets. Phenomenal service and food quality. We added some side dishes and a mud crab. They help declawed all the shells. Fantastic!

My partner’s family go to place for shabu-shabu in Taipei and it did not disappoint. Taiwan is known for their hotpot culture, however I felt this Japanese style has always been quietly underrated. The broth that they use was delicate and fragrant, ponzu has the right acidity and the grated daikon added a sweetness. Our dedicated waiter cooked different ingredients with their recommended time. We also ordered beef but the seafood was the highlight. Loved the congee that they made at the end . Usually this is what I do after a hotpot but it’s a big no in Taiwanese hot pot. Quite a common practice after having a nabe in Japan. Happy that they made 雑炊.
Travelling P — Google review
Shabu-Shabu That Changed My Mind I’ve never really been a fan of shabu-shabu, so I was skeptical at first. My wife, however, insisted we try it since a Taiwanese friend highly recommended the place. I’m glad she did, because this meal completely changed my perception. Four of us shared wagyu, pork, and seafood platters, along with a generous spread of fresh vegetables. The wagyu was melt-in-your-mouth tender, beautifully marbled, and rich without being heavy. The pork slices were thin yet incredibly juicy, releasing so much flavor with every bite. The seafood was a real standout — prawns were sweet and plump, scallops soft and buttery, all tasting so fresh they almost reminded me of the ocean. The clean, flavorful broth brought everything together, making the meal light yet deeply satisfying. The staff even offered porridge from the remaining broth, but we ended with fresh fruit and a heavenly dessert. Truly unforgettable.

Best hotpot experience in Taipei!! During our visit, we were fortunate to be served by 一尾. Although he is fairly new, his attentiveness and professionalism stood out. Restaurant
This old-fashioned Taiwanese breakfast cafe is great for savoring delicious, freshly made soup dumplings and croissants with crispy skins. The soy milk is also excellent, both rich and creamy with a delicious egg added for good measure. The cafe has a nostalgic atmosphere complete with lovely vintage furniture and fixtures, making it the perfect spot to indulge in a morning meal.
It is a very popular place among the locals, and gets very busy in the morning, but you get served quite quickly and it's super cheap. The dumplings were great so as the Chinese omelette. The bread sticks were a little too plain and dry to my taste but I think it's not the nature of this type of food so I wouldn't blame it on the place. If you are looking for an authentic option it's great for that.
Viktor L — Google review
Nothing special honestly. Tasted better soup dumplings in Shanghai. Turnip cake was oily and had a frozen aftertaste. Egg rolls with pork chop was decent but had nothing to scream for. Soybean milk and rice milk were alright. Overall don’t really get the hype but seems like locals really supported it!
Bryan C — Google review
It’s really good! The soy milk is so sweet and can taste the fresh yellow beans. Sticky rice roll is amazing with the you tiao in it. It’s still crispy after half an hour. The pork floss and the pickled vegetables is great. Salty soy milk is a must to try, very unique taste which is quite interesting too.
Skye C — Google review
It's a really popular breakfast restaurant among locals and tourist. We came here on a Sunday morning and there was already a long queue. Fortunately, the shops have many tables with a fairly quick turnover rate. We were able to be seated within 15 minutes. While queueing, you can see all the items like their Xiaolongbao being made by hand. The food we had tasted amazing and their Xiaolongbao was our favourite. The bun is not as thinly skinned but we thought it complemented well with the delicious filling.
Lawrence T — Google review
Had the hot savoury soy milk, xiao loong bao, steamed pork bun. All but the steamed pork bun was 10/10!! Steamed pork bun price was good but not much meat inside. That's the only thing I would pass on next time but otherwise excellent and quick (2 lineups, 1 for dine in, 1 for take out).

Typical taiwanese breakfast. We had breakfast there 3 days. There was no queue like others soy milk places as the bring food super fast. Sesame roll with omelette and pork was spectacular, my favourite! Dumplings were amazing and soy milk perfectly sweet. Price was cheap

I recently enjoyed the 7-piece sushi lunch set, and all the sushi was delicious! We also added a scallop sushi piece, which tasted okay but felt a bit pricey. The service was excellent. I recommend making a reservation before you go, as it can get busy. Overall, a great experience!

You sushi is so good I didn’t want to make a review about it because I was scared it’d become ruined once it becomes too popular but the food and the entire experience was too incredible to not share. Every single detail from the moment you walk in is so meticulously detailed, from the level of service to each and every ingredient added to each dish. Words cannot describe the experience and the food was out of the world. Seafood is fresh caught day of and each piece of sushi was handcrafted with care and detail. The flavors of each sushi were well combined and thought out. The sushi here was better than any of the sushi I’ve had before and I’ve been to Japan, though there are places in Japan better but far higher priced. Insane value for what you get but you definitely need a reservation in advance. Highly recommend getting a lunch set to try first and the rice bowl (which far surpassed my expectations). Even the matcha tea, ginger slices, and pickled daikon were good, not a single detail was missed. Plating impeccable too

Great Omakase, Worth the Visit Tried You Sushi for omakase and was really impressed. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, which makes it easy to enjoy the experience. The Itamae (板前) were attentive and engaging, they asked what I like to eat and tailored a few pieces based on my preferences, which made the meal feel genuinely personal. Went there for an Omakase dinner on 2025.4.26, the atmosphere and service was excellent and the food was quite fresh (but not as fresh as compared to Japan) and tasted great. The only downside I found is that the serving of food was rather small (you only get a piece of small sushi for each turn) and although we had eaten like 20+ courses but I wasn’t all that full at the end. Anyhow is still a great place to hang out, highly recommended to anyone who is dying for Omakase in Taipei or otherwise wait till your trip to Japan.

The food was great! The inside is really unique and pretty. One of our dishes took a really long time compared to the others but other than that everything was perfect. They’ve got a great selection of beers and drinks. Not your typical Thai restaurant. Will definitely go back.
Jessica — Google review
Randomly picked a restaurant nearby to feed my empty stomach. No idea what to order ‘cause Thai food is not my top choice. But, this restaurant completely changed my impression of Thai food. We ordered Green Curry Chicken which was creamy not very spicy and had a touch of basil fragrance. Very good to go with rice! The Water Spinach with Shrimp Paste was not salty as other places but you still tasted the savory of shrimp. The best dish was the Fried Fish fillet with Lemongrass Sauce. Fillets were lightly fried and immersed in the lemongrass sauce with served hot to the table. The sauce was watery just like soup, so I scooped to my bowl to drink. It was very delicious. We took the advantage to order craft beers, only costs NT 25 for a small glass during lunchtime. What a steal! This is the best Thai restaurant so far I have been dining in Taipei.

I would like it if it was a little spicier, but the food did too very good. I would definitely say go for the fish or seafood.
Joseph A — Google review
Visited for weekday lunch and was let down on multiple fronts. The restaurant appeared understaffed, resulting in extremely slow service throughout the meal. When I requested less ice in my drink, staff insisted it couldn’t be adjusted because they use shaved ice, yet my drink arrived with regular ice cubes instead. This kind of inconsistency is frustrating. Most concerning, several dishes I ate gave me diarrhea later that day, raising serious questions about food freshness and handling.

Jolly is a nice boutique brewery/restaurant specializing in Thai and western cuisine. Situated just a short walk away from Ximen station, it is quite convenient to get to and you can pop by Ximending to walk off the calories from your meal. Food is extremely delicious though the portions were rather small. Would say that the highlight of the meal was the shrimp paste fried rice. Service is really top notch as well what with the friendly and attentive servers. My only gripe would be the noisy ambience of the place, other than that a great place for a decent meal!

We were craving for some Thai food so off to Google we searched nearby, surprisingly this unfamiliar name of shop has, in my opinion one of the best Thai flavoured food in Taiwan. Fish, vege are very Thai, wished the portion could be bigger though. We also ordered papaya salad, looks and tasted slightly different but still appetizing. Lastly the creme Brule is excellent, love it so much, and one of the strong reason to come back next time! Environment is not bad, except quite distant to the washroom. Food is good, consider slightly expensive since the portion is small, plus could've gone with Thai rice also. All in all still recommended for the good taste.

If you asking me is it delicious, well it is. But as a Thai people who try Thai food in this range of price I would said is not that worth it. Combined with the bad service, very slow and we asking for rice but we don’t get it, even getting the check needed >15 min. Won’t come here again, won’t be sorry for it. A nice dessert place with good quality chocolate. The staff were very helpful. Their chocolate and dessert were delicious. Nice gift packaging which you get to choose your own combination.

Service is nice and attentive. Desserts are delicate and elegant. Took out 2 chocolate cakes, and they were way too sweet than I expected. It needs to be shared with others. A dark chocolate lover probably won’t enjoy it. 🔹Shibusa NT$270 🔹Ultra Chocolate Pound Cake NT$150

Good atmosphere and good/kind services. 105TWD per 1 piece which is really expensive. I have never seen this type of chocolate to be so expensive. I usually buy La Maison du Chocolat and even their price is lower. The taste and the quality is really good so the high pricing is really pity. In terms of volume, I felt that it was too thin and it could be thicker to feel more aroma.

Quiet and stylish chocolatier and cafe. A small menu, with a selection of about 6 pastries and several drinks (including seasonal chocolate drinks and tea). Don't let the limited choice put you off, the pastires were exquisite and distinctive, and the oolong tea was refreshing. A little pricey but worth it! The mont blanc was especially good.

Truly tasteful chocolates pond cake snd financier. I ordered a large size Lemon tart genuinely authentic and yummy. Signature chocolate tarts are also good. Too bad we can’t buy more varieties due to lactose intolerance.

Taste of happiness when enjoying its Shibusa. Chocolate drink is rich and smooth. Not a fan of its Mont Blanc though. Employee is friendly and knowledgeable of store’s sweets. Store is clean and comfy.

The texture of chocolate blew my mind! The chocolate cake makes me feel like in France. Delicate and nice quality of chocolate ,also infused with the alcohol that makes the flavor is very balanced and smooth. Definitely going back again :p

Pasta shop
Western restaurant
Solo Pasta is a sleek and casual Italian restaurant that specializes in pasta dishes and hearty mains, complemented by a selection of beer and wine. Located in Taipei's East District near Zhongxiao Dunhuan MRT station, it has been serving up delectable Italian fare for over 5 years. The menu features crowd favorites like creamy pasta with smoked duck breast in balsamic vinaigrette, authentic cannoli, and tiramisu.
Every dish I’ve had here since 2023 has been truly impressive. The ambiance is exceptional, and most guests attend in formal attire, which reflects the upscale setting. The only downside is that it is extremely difficult to get a reservation. I would definitely return if I get the chance.
Judy H — Google review
Disappointing dinning experience at Solo Pasta. Even though we had a reservation, our table wasn’t ready when we arrived, and we were left standing for 15 minutes. On top of that, pasta was a huge letdown…. Idk pasta sauce tastes off… and lots of bone pieces in the duck breast, which executed poorly. What makes it even worse, there was a large group with kids running around the restaurant, making it chaotic and unsafe. The noise was out of control, and no staff stepped in to handle the situation. Not to mention, the door kept being left open, and no one bothered to close it (it’s winter time), which was frustrating and unpleasant. I get that the staff might be stretched thin, but this really feels like a management issue. The restaurant has potential, but someone needs to step up and improve the food quality and the overall dining experience. This was not worth the time or money unfortunately a disaster :/
Janice — Google review
The food is not bad and price is decent. However, the BIGGEST problem of Solo Pasta is making a reservation. I called as instructed between 3-5 pm but no one answered. I tried to contact them using LINE again no reply. If you are so short-handed like many other restaurants, tried using one of these on-line reservation systems. Otherwise, no one will go to your place.

This restaurant was pick by my hubby as he has been wanting to try home made spaghetti. Unfortunately, they don’t have that anymore. The food was good that we had 4 pasta dishes, one entree pork chop and lamb with octopus salad. They all taste good with unique flavors. The services were excellent though the restaurant was full.

Bosco L — Google review
Upon entering, the place seemed very busy, but the experience was overrated. The entire restaurant had a sour, unpleasant smell. The lighting was dim and not suitable for dining. One-third of the menu items were unavailable. The recommended tomato seafood soup tasted fishy and not fresh. The signature duck breast pasta had a sour taste that was hard to stomach, and the tiramisu was mediocre. Overall, it was a major disappointment and might be the worst pasta I have ever had.

Fine dining restaurant
Asian restaurant
Logy is a chic and minimalist restaurant located in Taipei's Da'an district, known for its elevated Japanese cuisine and drinks. Since its opening in 2018, it has quickly gained recognition, earning two Michelin stars. The restaurant offers a tasting menu that combines Taiwanese flavors with Japanese and other Asian ingredients, presented in avant-garde style. With only 13 seats surrounding the open kitchen, guests can enjoy a theatrical dining experience as dishes are meticulously assembled by the staff.
I know this review comes a bit late, but I was truly saddened to hear that Logy is relocating. This place was easily one of the best 2-Michelin-starred restaurants I have ever experienced. The service was impeccable, and the food was nothing short of extraordinary. My favourite standout dishes were the oysters and the eel. The eel, in particular, was a revelation—prepared in a tempura style, lightly torched with brown sugar, and paired with unique sauces like dark chocolate, cheese, and mala. It was the perfect winter dish, both comforting and innovative. Logy has truly set a high bar for fine dining, and I’m sure its new location will continue to impress.
TC — Google review
Truly the best fine dining experience in Taipei. Every dish was refined, delicious, and even playful in its ingredient combinations perfectly executed. The new location is absolutely stunning, with an atmosphere and service that are simply unmatched. The wine pairing was both exciting and spot-on. Now I understand why it’s so hard to get a reservation. it was an unforgettable experience! Thank you logy team!
Jay C — Google review
One of my most memorable dining experiences. Sometimes meals are highlighted by one or two hits but logy delivered on some incredibly creative and flavorful courses throughout the meal. Service was friendly and attentive, but the food took the show.
Daniel K — Google review
The food at Logy's new Taipei location is absolutely amazing—true culinary artistry. While the overall experience is top-tier, the service felt slightly unfamiliar and perhaps tentative, likely due to the recent move. Still, Chef Tahara's fusion cuisine is a must-try for any serious gourmand.
Jessie W — Google review
A true fine dining experience in Taiwan; exceptional use of local ingredients infused with both European and Asian techniques. The wine pairing was beautifully curated, and the service was nothing short of amazing.
Yuval Z — Google review
Logy, nestled in the Da’an District of Taipei, has garnered international acclaim, securing two Michelin stars and ranked no. 22 in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024 and The Best Restaurant in Taiwan 2025. We were lucky enough to get a reservation here only few days before I left for Taipei (I put my name on waitlisted long ago). From beginning to end, the service was great. I was grateful they explained each dish to me in English. The omakase menu, which changes every two months, showcases seasonal Taiwanese ingredients interpreted through Japanese and European techniques. The firefly squid with kombu fricassée, wagyu with taiwanese tea rice and the mugwort with pumpkin seeds really stood out to me as being one of the most unique dishes I have ever tried. But I must say for two Michelin Stars it didn’t live up to what I was expecting. Some of the other dishes weren’t particularly impressive and didn’t leave any lasting impression. However, Logy is a must-visit destination for gastronomes seeking an unparalleled dining experience.
Vibricia P — Google review
It's been almost a year since we dined at logy, but it's still one of the best dining experiences we've had anywhere in the world. The food was amazing, the staff attentive and helpful in explaining each dish to us in English, and the counter-style seating allowed us to see the hustle and competence of the kitchen and wait staff.
Peter — Google review
Five stars for the dining room, which has a sleek, understated Manhattan vibe, and the service, which was both polished and warm. Four stars for the food because at the Michelin 2-star level, every single dish should be excellent, but there were some shaky spots in our meal. The eel with chocolate dish was so sour that I simply could not finish it. I have been to 1, 2, and 3-star Michelins, so I understand there are variances in approaches and that not everything will necessary appeal to everyone. But this dish just isn't balanced, such that you really can't discern or enjoy its individual elements. Desserts were just fine but not memorable. Wine selection and wine pairing were solid, with several of my favorites including Gruner Veltiner featured. I really appreciate that the chef is trying to convey his experiences growing up in Hokkaido through his food, and I think that most of the dishes did succeed at conjuring images of the Hokkaido countryside. I look forward to returning when a new season ushers in a new menu.

Tea house
Historical landmark
Wistaria Tea House, located on the historic Dihua Street in Taipei's Dadaocheng district, was a renowned meeting place for social activists in the 1970s and 1980s. This hidden gem offers a tranquil atmosphere popular with artists and those seeking a blend of modern and retro vibes. The tea house boasts a wide variety of teas from across Taiwan, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the country's rich tea culture.
Money can’t buy happiness but it doesn’t hurt if you’re looking for serenity… and tea. I’m historically more of a coffee guy but I’m thinking of getting into tea. It’s more contemplative. It’s definitely worth visiting this tea house if only for the experience. The staff are very helpful and sat down to show me how to brew the tea. I unfortunately had to do some homework here because I’m a cog in the education machine, but this would be an excellent place to meet a friend or—dare I say—a date.

If you are a tea lover then this is the first place you have to go in Taipei! In a old japanese building, this place has been an important cultural center in Taipei history. Very good tea selection, in a wonderful cozy place.
Arno P — Google review
When they get busy, they won't be able to spend a lot of time talking with you about tea, but the atmosphere is very nice and tranquil. I can't speak for the regular food, but the snacks that you can get with tea are good. Recommend getting here early on a weekday so there's no wait. Service was friendly, and there is an English menu for those who need it. You are required to spend 400NTD per person, which is reasonable. This is a nice place to relax with some tea in the middle of Taipei.
Nancy — Google review
It looks like a very unassuming place from the outside. But once you enter, it’s a cute little traditional tea shop. As I was dining alone, and they were out of places in the main dining area, I was allowed to take up a table in the tatami room. This room felt like a place out of time. A throwback to traditional Japan. All the staff were very patient with me as I told them I didn’t know how to prepare my own tea. The staff who helped me was very patient and answered all my basic questions. If you’re looking for some respite from the cold or from the bustle of city life, this is the ideal spot for it. (your experience is also dependent on the civic mindedness of the other patrons, if they are loud, it detracts from the atmosphere)
Sabrinna — Google review
I learned about the tea ceremony and it was magical. If you are in Taipei, it's the perfect place to relax and enjoy yourself with your loved ones. The perfect peaceful atmosphere while tasting how the tea flavor in its different types changes as it is shared in the typical handmade tea pots. Absolutely beautiful.
Tatiana R — Google review
Well preserved tea house dating from 1920. Good value for lunch at NT$390+. 2 main dining rooms: 1 in tatami mat style, low tables, no chairs; other with normal tables & chairs. Service is reserved but they warm up to polite guests. Dinner reservations required, do not trek over there without booking ahead. Lunch is possible without prior booking, but still advised to do so. English is spoken.
Mike H — Google review
Lovely teahouse with a great selection of teas produced by the owners and their partners. I ordered one of their own Pu'er productions and wasn't disappointed. Soaking in the relaxed atmosphere of this historic place, I enjoyed my tea from the first to the last steep. The staff was very helpful and even took the time to share some stories on the teahouse and its historic customers. If you're into tea, this place should be one of your top priorities in Taipei. Prices certainly aren't cheap, but it's well worth the experience!

Restaurant
Chun Shui Tang Xinyi Branch is a renowned bubble tea destination that has played a significant role in popularizing this beverage. With its origins dating back to the 1980s, it is considered the birthplace of bubble tea, offering an authentic and traditional taste. The menu features a wide variety of options, but first-time visitors are recommended to try the Original Pearl Milk Tea. Located in Taipei, this branch continues the legacy of serving rich and sweet bubble tea with unparalleled expertise.
Oh wow! I have no idea why I only ever heard about the fame of their original bubble milk tea—because their food deserves just as much hype! Every dish is not only delicious but also has a unique touch, capturing that authentic local taste. The restaurant itself has a casual yet classy vibe—no reservations needed, just walk in and enjoy the easygoing atmosphere. I tried one of their à la carte dishes a long time ago and was already quite impressed, but this time, I went for a mix of sharing plates and snack dishes. It was a fantastic choice! This place is great for locals looking for a simple yet satisfying meal, but it’s also perfect for introducing foreign friends to local flavors beyond the usual beef noodle soup, xiao long bao, or dumplings. More people should be raving about this! Even the more common dishes, like turnip cake (蘿蔔糕) and wontons in red chili oil (红油抄手), have their own unique twist here! They stay true to local flavors but with a little extra flair—familiar yet unexpectedly exciting. It’s not your typical, predictable version; instead, each bite feels like a fresh take on a classic. I love how they manage to keep it authentic yet intriguing at the same time! The food came out super quick, which was a pleasant surprise! This branch is located underground, but somehow, the shop’s design feels open and airy, not stuffy at all. They also have an in-store restroom, which is quite clean—a nice bonus! The staff were efficient, quick on their feet, and very polite. I also loved the convenience of ordering via QR code and paying at the counter before the food arrived. It made the whole experience smooth and hassle-free. Oh, and the honey lemon tea was light, refreshing, and a perfect balance of flavors. I’m already looking forward to coming back and trying more from their menu.🍽️✨

If you came for the milk tea, you might be disappointed like me. Otherwise, it's a solid spot for a reliable meal in the area, great for small groups. We ordered an original large milk tea, chicken wings, noodles, and tofu. The food was great definitely leaned more on the snack side for their portions. The tea flavor was super light in the drink so it was super meh, but the size was humongous so definitely worth the money. A solid meal, but not my first choice, especially for milk tea.

Food and service were excellent. We ordered the kung fu noodles, which were springy with a good balance from the mushrooms and minced meat. Another must-have is the milk tea, both warm and cold were good. Set meals are available on week days. It was so good that we returned again for dinner before departing Taipei. Highly recommended!

I’m not used to their flow process in Taipei. You waited to be seated. You are seated and ordered online at table. You walked out to cashier to pay. You come back to the table and wait for the food. How cumbersome… Anyway, all is good after paying for the order. My favorite sweetness level for drinks is 50% sweetness. The medium size drink is more than what I’m used to the over priced drinks in US.

The OG bubble tea place. Milk tea wasn’t as fragrant as I expected. Would say 50 lan is better. Fried chicken however, was tasty, juicy, spicy and well spiced

Chun Shui Tang is the alleged birthplace of boba so it was necessary as a boba connoisseur to visit and give my hot take. The good news? Boba was good and the food items was better than I thought! You order from a sheet of paper and then take it outside to pay at the cashier. Only then will you receive a number to take back to your table for food and drinks. I ordered a Passion-Guava smoothie with boba along with some veggie friendly options including braised tofu skin and soy-meat dan dan noodles. They forgot the tapioca boba at first but after asking, they gave me an entire small container which was fun to pour into my drink. The boba was very soft and warm, so while different from the larger ones here in the States, still delicious. Food was also on point and I'm glad there were options I could enjoy. Only thing I wish they could offer would be non-dairy milk options for boba. I couldn't experience a classic milk tea since I don't consume dairy. If they could offer oat or soy milk, then it would've been a no-brainer to try them to see how they taste.
Andy N — Google review
Really long reservation line. Long payment line. We waited for almost an hour just to try this. While I listed out my order as 3 small-sized bubble tea clearly, the staff punched it incorrectly as medium. It was a hassle. Good thing my friend checked the price reflected in the receipt so we were able to raise that. Otherwise, my card will be charged incorrectly too. In term of the product, taste of bubble tea was not as promising vs the hype and my expectations. It was bland and has weak tea flavor and it was watery, thin body and lacking in creamy, milky character (for reference, I ordered less ice and 80% sugar). Boba was lightly firm at the center. Unless you realky want to check out this place as the "creator of bubble tea", I dont really recommend to be honest, because you can actually find somewhere better in terms of product and service.

Ruian Soy Milk is a popular breakfast spot in Taipei, known for its high-quality Taiwanese breakfast dishes. The establishment originated in the 1950s and has since become a staple for locals and visitors alike. One of their standout dishes is the pan-fired garlic chives pocket, which bursts with flavor from its combination of pork, dried tofu, and chives. Other must-try items include salted soybean milk and egg wrap.
Amazing local breakfast spot. We were a fairly large group of nine dining-in. An employee stepped up to help us get seated and get our orders. This was very helpful as there were people in our group who don't speak Mandarin/Hokkien. And this was also very unexpected from a fast-paced place like this.

Sounds like a local spot with good local vibes from the reviews…so I don’t know if our SUPER unfriendly experience was because we stopped by for a late night snack. This is my fifth 豆漿 visit on this trip and I’m fluent in mandarin, so I think I have some credibility to say these were some of the rudest servers I’ve met here in Taipei. They had a food ordering system that confused even the locals (placed a likely local’s order all on my tray and almost had me pay for it) and sassed back if you asked for clarification. Food was very average (limp 油條 but again at night). Again, this might just be a night experience but I would not recommend anyone who isn’t a local to come at night, or to at least come prepared with thick skin.

Sushi restaurant
Sushi Ryu offers an upscale dining experience with a Taiwanese twist in a sleek and minimalist setting. Chef Yang Yong-long, with over 30 years of experience, showcases his expertise by incorporating various techniques such as smoking, aging, and pickling to enhance the flavors of each piece of fish. The meal begins with sashimi and appetizers followed by a selection of Edomae-style sushi.
I visited Sushi Ryu for a special birthday lunch with a friend, and the experience was overall excellent. Every piece of sushi was skillfully prepared and served at the perfect pace, allowing us to savor each bite. The uni (sea urchin) was especially memorable—generously portioned and incredibly creamy, it brought so much joy to the meal! The atmosphere was calm and elegant, with the chefs focused and attentive. We loved the counter seat experience, watching each piece being made right in front of us—it added a beautiful sense of ceremony to the meal. One small downside: I had mentioned during the reservation that it was a birthday celebration, but there wasn’t any special greeting, dessert, or surprise from the restaurant, which was a bit of a letdown. That said, the quality of the sushi itself more than made up for it as a Michelin one star restaurant. A fantastic spot for serious sushi lovers looking for a refined, omakase-style dining experience in Taipei.
Sean L — Google review
I found mixed reviews about Sushi Ryu online when I was doing pre-reservation research on this Michelin one-star restaurant I can attest that the quality curation and taste at Sushi Ryu are still very good. The staff was incredibly helpful, especially when we didn’t get the mandarin names of the fish or an ingredient. They kindly showed us diagrams with detailed explanations of the seasonality and different preparation methods. The Onakase menu could change due to seasonality and the availability of ingredients. During my visit, I had the pleasure to find out how great these dishes were: 燒白鰻配山椒鹽、吞拿魚赤身漬、赤海膽、紅喉壽司配蘿蔔泥 My visit was right before my flight out of Taipei, and the meal was a wonderful highlight in the midst of all the hustle and the trip back home.
Kate — Google review
Quite pricy but they give you a lot of food. By Taipei standard, ingredients are as good as you can get. Pace is a bit fast which makes the place feeling a bit restless. Service staff is nevertheless attentive. Make sure you ask for chef Shawn, professional and great advice.
K — Google review
Had the omakase lunch for 6000 NTD and overall it was a really enjoyable experience. The quality of the ingredients was excellent, every piece of fish tasted incredibly fresh and well handled. A few courses really stood out and went beyond my expectations That said, there was something about the overall flow that felt like it was missing a certain something I can’t quite put my finger on what it was. Maybe the progression of flavors or the pacing? A couple of courses didn’t quite reach the same level as the rest, but nothing was bad by any means. Still, the craftsmanship and attention to detail were very clear and its definitely a high quality omakase thats worth trying if you appreciate good and fresh sushi.
Fabian M — Google review
The appetizers, while weren’t omakase sushi, were incredibly delectable. But of course, when it came to the actual sushi, it was incredible. Not the kind of place to go for flashy presentations, but the food definitely has quite a lot of substance; I would expect only true connoisseurs would be able to appreciate Sushi Ryu
Chris W — Google review
Decent omakase but does not live up to 1 Michelin star and the price tag
Venus C — Google review
The service is good; food is nice but not too much creativity. There is no sparks for the dining experience. Whether it is worth 7000 dollars for a set menu is a doubt to me. Or I simply spent more on the Michelin star rather than the food and aspirations itself.

I come to Taiwan every year to visit family. I've stayed in hotels in Taiwan ranging from motels to 5 star hotels. This particular trip i stayed in 5 different hotels, not all in Taiwan, and this was the most expensive and most disappointing. It had the service of a best western with the aesthetic of a 5 star hotel. I'll start with the positives. The hotel and room is beautiful if a little dated. I still enjoyed the aesthetic. They gave 6 bottles of water a day, which I appreciate, but some might feel is wasteful. They refilled the fruit every day. The room was generally pretty quiet and clean. The spa experience was excellent. The negatives, the overall service was comparable to a best western, everyone was competent, but some of the practices were puzzling. For instance they specifically mentioned that we would be receiving a gift from housekeeping, and that they were able to give us an upgrade (we booked through amex fine hotels and resorts, and upgrades are part of the benefit when available). The gift was two pastries and an apple and banana and the upgrade was the same room with a different view. Other upgrades were available for a fee. These benefits seem so small they shouldn't even bother mentioning it. If they hadn't, we would appreciate it more. The included breakfast had many options, but was bland. I would have preferred eating out if I hadn't already paid for it. The slippers were cheapest I had ever experienced and the bathroom mat was scratchy and the TV was too small for the space. Even the bidet felt cheap, it would shift every time you sat on it. All these things are so insignificant, but when you're paying extra and being told it will be reflected in the experience and it isn't, you wonder why you're paying double the price. I've always come to Taiwan knowing that the service will be excellent no matter what I'm doing or how much I'm paying, but this experience was a disappointment and doesn't reflect Taiwanese culture. I will not be coming back, and will be returning to the Shangri-La instead.

Dear Regent Taipei Team, I stayed at your hotel on October 15, 2025, and I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the outstanding service provided by Tony at the front desk. Tony demonstrated exceptional attention to detail and genuine care for guests. Upon check-in, he noticed that I had only received one spa coupon when I was entitled to two. He proactively followed up and clarified the issue, confirming that the hotel had mistakenly issued only one. His initiative and thoroughness made me feel truly valued. Later, after I entered my room, Tony kindly checked in again to ensure everything was satisfactory. When I mentioned that the curtain was slightly damaged, he immediately contacted the relevant team to arrange a prompt repair. His responsiveness and dedication were impressive. Tony’s professionalism, attentiveness, and warm attitude reflect the high standards of Regent Taipei. He made my stay more comfortable and memorable, and I believe his service deserves recognition. Thank you once again for the wonderful hospitality.

This hotel was very luxurious and kids friendly. We were greeted by the staffs and taken to the front desk to check in. We were given big golden keys, not the typical hotel cards. We checked out at 4 pm and were given credit for spa. I did the spa massage for 90 mins with sauna. The kids room was clean, big, and cute. The only downside was it wasn’t always open. They close on Sunday. The pool was nice. We got to see the fireworks at night time.

The staff was very kind. Within 2 days they recognized you. Very helpful staff. The room was perfect. The air conditioning you can change temperature and speed. Every day some fruit of the region. Bed was so good. Maybe for some hard. But we loved it. Near by some good breakfast locations so not needed to start the day inside the hotel. Cleaning staff very kind and funny. We laugh many time with them.

I have always loved staying at Intercontinental hotels, however I was deeply disappointed staying at Regent Taipei this time. The location is great and the rooms are beautiful and spacious, but they are not soundproof. Two nights on a row, I could hear the noise from the neighbors. Although, I reported to the reception, they didn’t address the matter. Also, the hotel is not friendly for people with disabilities. I couldn’t find the elevator to the restaurant but no one was there to help me. When I asked a staff who was walking around she yelled that she was with her clients and that I had to ask the receptionist myself. After I wrote them an email, they were just using a very arrogant tone talk to me and they didn’t do anything to resolve the issues. I will definitely not return to this hotel, which is a pity because I love the location.

The hotel is in a very great location, it was close to subway station. The room is big and the breakfast is very good. 👍 Very appreciate that the check in staff Tony was very efficient. And also the girl with long hair in breakfast’s restaurant is very helpful! Overall the experience was great and definitely will come back again

Chinese restaurant
Cantonese restaurant
Dragon Restaurant in Taipei is renowned for its exceptional Beijing duck. The restaurant offers a variety of Chinese dishes, but the Beijing duck is the star of the show. It's recommended to make a reservation in advance if you want to savor this delectable dish. The crispy skin and juicy meat of the duck have garnered high praise from visitors, making it a must-try for anyone visiting the city.
Back to Taipei but it was too early to check in. Found a nearby Chinese restaurant called Dragon and it appeared to be famous for its Guangdong style roasted duck. We arrived 10 mins prior to its opening time and was surprised to know that we almost couldn’t get a table because reservations was close to full. Wow, really? Given that, my expectations for the food elevated and was I disappointed? Hell no, the Peking duck was awesome though it would be nice if they included scallion. We ordered dim sum to go along with the duck and everything was spot on. The baby spinach was amazing and so was the fried rice. Before long, the restaurant was full… this is Thursday btw, impressive!
Ching L — Google review
While it's not the best I've had in Taiwan, it was still enjoyable. The duck featured crispy skin and tender meat, offering a satisfying experience. However, the overall flavor didn't quite match the high standards set by other establishments. The restaurant itself has a traditional, no-frills ambiance that reflects its longstanding presence in the area. It's not particularly modern or stylish, but it exudes a certain nostalgic charm that some diners may appreciate.
J L — Google review
High-quality Cantonese food with standout dishes from start to finish, but the roast duck absolutely stole the show. It was the first dish to arrive and the one I kept thinking about long after the meal ended. The shrimp dumplings were delicate and flavorful, and the congee was comforting and perfectly seasoned. Every dish was excellent, but that duck? Unforgettable. To top it all off, the mango pudding was so good I was tempted to order a second one even though I was completely full. A fantastic experience overall, a little on the pricy side but really can't wait to return.

A Cantonese restaurant famous for their Roast Duck (Peking Duck) and advanced reservations required. I've not tried other Peking ducks in Taiwan to say if this is the best. It was good but not a must eat in Taipei. The dishes were in general on point, the beef was tender, the tofu was nice, the salted fish chicken fried rice was tasty, but nothing stood out in particular. Perhaps the Har Gow, skillfully done with a very thin layer of translucent skin wrapping a fresh chunky crunchy prawn. The decor and vibes screams 80s/90s Hong Kong, the kind that reminds you of triad gang dinners in the movies.
Daphne Y — Google review
The best Guangdong duck I ever tasted. The left over duck bones porridge is another big plus. All other dishes are fine as well. Of course, chatting with my classmates is the most memorable part.

Best Peking Duck restaurant in Taipei Taiwan! You should book a table here. It is grand, elegant, amazing service & delicious sizable Peking Duck with an incredible experience. It is like having the best dinner in a movie-set with beautiful environment. Thank you Team Dragon for the best Peking Duck pleasure.

This restaurant is full of the 90s Hong Kong mafia movie vibes! 100% recommend to try this restaurant at least once during your visit to tai pei. We arrived without reservation and didn't know we had to order the Peking duck in advance, but the staff were so kind to help us check and there was "spare duck" and we got ourselves a full Peking duck. The stir fried beef was also so tender and well flavored. Every dish was good (even the broccoli with Gingko nuts was awesome, and that's coming from a person whos not a big fan of broccoli!!) - the half of the duck should totally be made into congee; it's absolutely worth every bit of the extra money, since the congee comes in a giant tub (and we actually managed to finish it!!) One of the best Peking duck restaurants indeed. Staff were very kind and friendly too.

First time here, we ordered the Peking duck, beef and veggies, curry bowl and sea cucumber dish Taste 1/1* Peking duck was one of the best we’ve had, sauce with just the right amount of sweetness and savoury, wrap soft and stretchy, flavourful stir fry that gets even better the next day Curry bowl was surprisingly good, nice thickness, silky and smooth Sea cucumber is not normally my kind of dish, but this one was nicely cooked and seasoned just the right amount Value 0.5/1* With duck being 3200 + wrap and sauce all separately priced, it’s definitely expensive, but they got every single dish and every single component right, somewhat worth it Service 1/1* Fast and friendly, a bit too friendly if you ask me Cleanliness 1/1* No complaints Overall/Revisit 0.5/1* If we were in the mood and really had the budget, then yes, otherwise special occasion only Paying for ambience/reputation? 0/-1* NO Above and beyond? 0/+1* NO

Coffee shop
Simple Kaffa is a high-quality coffee shop that focuses on sourcing beans from carefully chosen farms. It was recently selected by Big 7 Travel as one of the “50 Best Coffee Shops in Asia.” The cafe features elegant, rustic decor and serves sophisticated snacks and coffee made with careful attention to sourcing.
$800 cup of coffee? You can get that here. It is pretty crazy and shocked me when I first saw that. Obviously, there are a lot more reasonable priced coffee here. They have a wide selection of beans to choose from and they live up to their name. Service is great and all the servers are kind. Once you get seating, they will give you a card which you take to the counter to order. A sort of awkward setup, but it works for them. I’ve been here a couple of times now and it’s always been a pleasure. They have their awards up for you to take a look as well which is kinda nice. Seating time is limited to 90m which is a bummer but I don’t think they will mind if business is slow. When I went by myself, there were plenty of open seats. I ordered one of their Coffee One Series cups and I enjoyed it very much. However, they only pour about 200ml so it comes in a single cup unlike some of their other pour overs that come with a cup and server. Their desserts are lightly sweet and won’t overpower your coffee. Quite delicious.

The shop opens at 10am and was already bustling when I arrived at 10:15am. Walk-ins only, no reservation available. The staff manage the crowd efficiently through a queue system, and once seated, they guide you through the ordering process and introduce the special beans of the day. I ordered latte with 黑美猪猪, which paired beautifully with milk. Their drip coffee bags are also a must-try — aromatic, full-bodied, and perfect as souvenirs. Among all the flavours, 阿宝 is my favourite — well-balanced, not too sour, and just right. Note: Matcha swiss roll wasn’t available due to a shortage of matcha powder.

A popular coffee spot in Taipei, loved by both locals and travelers! The shop features a black exterior with a window facing the street, just a 4-minute walk from Shandao Temple Station. Be prepared to wait for a table if you arrive after lunchtime. Inside, there are two floors decorated with wooden furniture and coffee tables. They also sell coffee beans and brewing equipment for you to take home. I tried the "Smoky Southern Taiwan" — an espresso with jelly, white gourd, and osmanthus. A unique combination that's surprisingly tasty! This place is a haven for coffee lovers, offering a wide variety of beans to explore and enjoy.

A popular choice for specialty coffee. I've found this place by chance and im glad I did. They have various beans available, lots of price range of beans that you could try as well. Along with their extensive menu, there are also espresso menu with daily special beans. Their special beans is another level, its really good and frangrantful. Since we are tourist, the staff give us very good explanations and are very helpful.

The Simple Kaffa flagship store near the Huashan 1914 Creative Park is far more than just a coffee shop—it is a mandatory destination for any serious coffee enthusiast visiting Taipei. Founded by World Barista Champion (WBC) Berg Wu, this location provides a refined, almost fine-dining approach to specialty coffee that absolutely justifies the international acclaim it has received. Ambiance and Setting Nestled adjacent to the vibrant and historic Huashan 1914 Creative Park, the location instantly offers a thoughtful, inspiring atmosphere. The interior itself is spacious, designed with minimalist elegance that allows the focus to remain squarely on the meticulous preparation happening at the brew bar. The vibe is sophisticated, yet comfortable, making it an ideal spot for quiet contemplation or a deep conversation. Unlike a casual grab-and-go cafe, Simple Kaffa encourages guests to slow down and appreciate the experience of their coffee. The Coffee: Meticulous Artistry The quality of the coffee here is unparalleled. Every drink is prepared with precision and expertise, reflecting the owner's champion pedigree. • Signature Drinks: While their classic espresso drinks (Cortado, Latte) are flawlessly executed with smooth, perfectly textured milk, the real standouts are the pour-overs and the unique Tea-Infused Latte. The pour-over selection often includes rare, funky Taiwanese beans (such as the famed Taiwan Caoling), which exhibit complex tasting notes like green tea and lemon—a genuinely refreshing and nuanced flavor profile. • Barista Service: The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and performs the brewing process with meticulous care, treating each cup as a performance. For international visitors, the presence of an English menu and English-speaking staff is a significant advantage, allowing for a deeper understanding of the bean origins and processing methods. Value and Final Verdict It is important to note that Simple Kaffa is priced at the premium end of Taipei's cafe scene. This is not the place for a quick, cheap caffeine fix. However, the price reflects the quality of the beans, the level of expertise, the beautiful ambiance, and the overall singular experience. If you are looking for the best cup of coffee Taipei has to offer, paired with an atmosphere of refined artistry, the Simple Kaffa Huashan branch is essential. It delivers a memorable experience that lives up to its reputation as a world-class establishment.

One of the famous cafe in Taipei (Top 50 cafe in Asia). We went to HuaShan first then visit this cafe at around 2:30pm. Cafe is very spacious, we waited around 15 mins for the seat. A lot of coffee bean choice with detail description of hows the coffee taste like. A good place to chill with friend and enjoy a nice coffee. We ordered the Green tea swiss rolls which is normal.

Summer Savage, situated in the Zhongshan district, is not your typical cafe but rather a charming coffee kiosk tucked away on a tranquil street. The picturesque wooden decor adds to its photogenic appeal, while the quality of their coffee is equally impressive. Although seating is limited with just a few benches and chairs available across the street, it's an ideal spot to savor a delicious cup of coffee.
Such an amazing coffee place in the city center of Taipei. There are no seatings, it is like a standing coffee bar. The espresso is outstanding, very intense, syrupy and dense! The cold coffee beverages look amazing and I love the design, the vibes and the groove. It is a must go for every coffee lover once you visit Taipei. It is a hidden gem 💎. I totally love it.

Visited Summer Savage twice during my week in Taiwan. The coffee is pretty decent, making it a solid choice if you’re around Minsheng. There’s no seating, but you can find some benches nearby to enjoy your drink. The staff aren’t particularly friendly, but it’s still probably the best option in the area for coffee.

The Lemon Frappuccino worth tasting at the outdoor seat even during winter! It’s a combination of single origin ice drip coffee, lemon, black sugar and shaved ice. The slight sour taste brightens the flavor, while the velvety-smooth foamy ice creates great texture.

Formosa Chang offers a decent dining experience with good service and tasty Taiwanese cuisine. While some find the prices a bit high for the quality of food, others appreciate the simplicity and freshness of the dishes. The restaurant is not very spacious or comfortable, but it's known for its quick service and delicious Taiwanese fare, including their popular sausage dish. Overall, it's a modern eatery that serves essential Taiwanese dishes to satisfy your cravings.
You also use QR code to order your food. The best braised pork rice in the world as always, but it’s a pity that plum juice is sold out today. In addition, the turkey rice is juicy and good but not as good as braised pork rice. Braised duck egg is also delicious. Overall, I would give this meal a 9.5 out of 10.

Grand Hilai Taipei is a top-notch hotel with excellent service. The doorman, Andrew Yu, went above and beyond to assist guests, providing help with taxis and offering valuable local tips. The rooms are luxurious and the staff is incredibly courteous. Guests highly recommend this hotel for a wonderful experience in Taipei.
Grand is an understatement for this magnificent property. Clean, spacious rooms. Great staff and unbelievable location if you need to be at the EXPO. Top of my list for my next stay in Taipei... And it should be yours.

Stayed there for 7 nights for Hyrox and booked room with breakfast every morning. Breakfast - Decent international spread with good quality food, which we appreciated. However, we did encounter an issue with one of the service staff. There is a male staff member, older-looking, in a suit and wearing glasses (one of two we noticed), whose attitude comes across as unfriendly and disengaged. We didn’t see him every morning, but on the days he was present, his demeanor gave the impression that he was unhappy to be there, and unfortunately, this was felt by guests. Rooms - Spacious, clean and new. Service - Generally great except this one staff (see above). Also, special shout out to Gino Chang whom I always see at the Sauna. Alway very friendly and proactively introduces the facilities and takes care of you. Location - It is likely that you want to stay in Hilai because you're attending an event, meeting, or conference at the Nangang Exhibition Centre. For that purpose, it's perfectly fine. However, beyond that, it does feel a bit less convenient since it's located at the far end of Taipei City—at least by MRT standards. While visiting Citylink Mall at the next station, I noticed another 5-star Courtyard Marriott, which seems like a better choice for a future stay. It's directly above the station, making it super convenient, and it's still very close to the exhibition centre—just one stop away. Plus, being integrated into both a mall and the train station adds a lot of convenience for food, shopping, and transport. So, personally, I’d opt for Courtyard Marriott next time!

Grand Hilai brand new hotel available on credit card point redemption. Clean, great rooms. Beautiful facilities and pool. Customer service and communication consistently terrible, abrasive, and defensive. Not a friendly experience and rather unpleasant after traveling overseas. We communicated with email with hotel weeks prior to ensure our requests would be met. They promised us and provided quotes. When we arrived, there was not only no record of communication, but also defensive, belittling comments as if we were trying to take advantage of them. Eventually they did apologize with written correspondence the next day. However, they continued to be exacting and rude to our family and friends that were visiting us. We will not be returning here when there are many other options.

Genuinely one of the best hotels I've stayed at during my vacation in Taiwan. The service was well and beyond, and the view from our hotel room was just wonderful. The room even had an AI-assistance helping with all the simple questions I had during my stay, which really saved me lots of time figuring out the opening times and location of facilties. It does take a couple of minutes' walking to the metro and to get to the city center, but this was the only (minor) negative thing I could thinl of. The room was clean, and I would definitely come again in the future.
Dean B — Google review
The hotel is quite new and modern and well-maintained. The room we stayed in was clean overall, and the staff kindly helped us combine the beds upon request, (within their allowed guideline and bandwidth) which made our sleep very comfortable. As other guests have mentioned, the breakfast isn’t particularly fancy, but it was sufficient, and the bread, freshly made beef soup and goose meat noodles were especially delicious. I’d like to give a special thanks to Mr. 羅立翔 one day, my child and I weren’t feeling well and missed breakfast, but he kindly prepared some food for us. That thoughtful gesture truly warmed our hearts. When we checked out, the doorman (didn’t catch his name ) was also very kind and even gave my child a small gift. Overall, we had a great experience and were lucky to meet such wonderful staff. Although the hotel is located in Nangang, it only takes about 20–30 minutes by MRT to get to the city center. Compared to hotels in downtown Taipei, we actually prefer this one and would definitely stay here again the next time we visit Taiwan.

Steak house
Le Blanc Taipei is a vibrant French-style steakhouse known for its premium beef dishes and excellent customer service. The bistro-like setting offers an upbeat atmosphere, making it a great spot for enjoying choice steaks and seafood with a full bar. One of the must-try items is the USDA Prime Certified Angus Beef Ribeye steak, which can be elevated by adding half a juicy lobster to create a Surf n Turf experience.
My friend and I were just passing by, looking for a place to sit down and have a casual drink. Ordered a couple of nibbles to go with it. Momo, who was running the bar, was incredibly friendly and professional. I found it quite impressive when I heard she works shifts of ten or eleven hours, with just an hour off—almost enough to make you question your life choices. During our time there, she didn’t stop moving, but still managed to maintain that ‘I’m here to serve’ attitude without resorting to throwing glasses at anyone. Honestly, she’s the sort of rare gem you’d usually only find in the ‘fantasy’ section of the job market. The little snacks were absolutely spot on. Next time, I’ll have to come back and actually try the proper meals instead of just using the place as a pit stop for my alcohol-fueled adventures.

We came here for dinner at around 8:30 PM on a Friday evening, there were quite a few tables still at 9:30 PM. We have been told that the steak we ordered included unlimited fries (as you can see stated on the picture below), however, when we asked to have one single refill of fries, we were told that the kitchen was closed and it wasn’t possible. Isn’t it common sense to tell the customer ahead it’s the last call or that the kitchen is about to close? They must have prepared a lot of fries anyway since it’s unlimited. It felt a bit like a misleading promotion/false advertisement. I have a loyalty card from this restaurant, but I don’t think I’ll go back again. Just be aware

All I can say is it’s definitely worth your money! What we ordered: 1. Grilled Lobster Juicy, fresh, and surprisingly big portion. 2. Steak No photo could do it justice. The meat was soft, a little chewy but flavorful and well seasoned. Both meals came with a carrot soup, though it tasted more like pumpkin — either way, really good and filling! 3. Wagyu Burger Portion was huge. All I can say is the juices were dripping with every bite. Pure comfort food and honestly food for the soul.

The steak was pretty good, as were the sides. The lobster was approximately 1.756 million years old (no flavour and a mushy body that was literally inedible). Either raise the price (if you have to) and sell good lobster or dont sell lobster, at least that's my opinion.
Eva B — Google review
The steak and lobster were both absolutely delicious! The staff were professional, friendly, and attentive—almost anticipating every need. Especially one of the staff members, who spoke perfect English. His professional service and accent-free English made me momentarily forget that I was in Taipei. Thank you so much for providing such wonderful food and excellent service. I’ll definitely come back again if I get the chance. Thank you all for your hard work! 🙏🙏🙏

Originally this has been my favorite restaurant for close to a decade with 5 star. Best steak for the bucks and I have recommended many people to go, even treated everyone the first time I took them there. Sadly to say the menu changed with same price and what I received was a different flat steak which tasted worst than any night market meat I’ve ever had. It’s sad and I’m writing this review in hope to get Leblancs attention to go back to their original steak. When done so I will also remove my true one star review.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful Korean BBQ experience, look no further than 八色烤肉! This vibrant eatery offers an enticing selection of meats, including their standout combo featuring eight distinct flavors of pork. Diners rave about the juicy and tender cuts that are perfect for grilling. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, making it an ideal spot to gather with friends.
Get the 8 different flavors of pork belly, the different taste between each flavor makes it interesting and the price is a good deal for Kbbq

Food was terrible. The meat was so tough and thick, seasoning didn’t taste good too. Texture of the egg was ok but not as fluffy as many kbbq places would serve. Options were limited too. Pancake I guess would be the best bet Not worth another visit for sure. Per pax we paid $950

If you compare with 🇦🇺Australia local Korean and 🇰🇷Korea local BBQ than you will feel disappoint.😐 👆Side dishes taste wrong and something not right. 👆Salads not fresh( it’s my first in my whole life get yellow color salad 🥗) 👆seafood soup is ok 👆 Multiple flavors of meat is interesting, but some of flavor depend personality. 👆acceptably price 👆if sauce come with Korea sesame oil, that will be tasty 👆New staffs is good 👍Please owner don’t blame them, they work hard.

We ordered beef/pork set, plus cheesy baby octopus and Korean pan fried seafood pancake. The service is really nice, we did enjoy food and atmosphere here. The cheesy baby octopus is not bad, the Korean seafood pancake is superstar, crispy outside and moist inside. The meat is great, kimchi/garlic/lettuce can be refilled. Overall, it’s a high CP restaurant to enjoy Korean BBQ with friends!

Really like the concept of 8 Flavors of pork. Definitely recommended! I will come back for that again next time. Because its my friend’s birthday month. She received a free “pork cake”, which is nice. Follow my IG: @foodiepirate

Recommend the combo of 8 seasonings meat. They were pretty juicy and tender. Staffs were helpful and friendly! They always came to check our meat status (lol). Korean beer: Cass and side dish were nice, too. Must visit again.

We three girls ordered a pork set for two plus a bowl of steamed egg and the amount is just right for us. The service is good and the food quality is okay. The grilled pork could have more crispy surface.

Food is pretty Korean kind, but the service is kinda cold, so I may not come here again. Compare with the same price I'm pretty sure u will have a better choice.

Located in a stylish open-box designed space, 叁酒弍沏-忠孝寓所 三九二七 3927 offers delicious cuisine with a unique twist. The private dining area ensures an intimate experience for gatherings, while the diverse menu and generous portions cater to groups. Standout dishes include the crispy chicken wrapped in bread served with three distinct dipping sauces.
Lovely and cosy restaurant with excellent food. Do note that the signature truffle bread with chicken has to be pre ordered at least 3 days in advance. Service was excellent (Jeffery)

It's a good place for gathering but food was mediocre. We ordered a set menu and it came out with a good portion of food. Unfortunately, we didn't like most of them. The seasonings were too sweet and lacking of freshness. Fried rice was good but all meat dishes only tasted sweet.

Came here with family and it was a good dinner overall. The presentation and atmosphere was the strong suit of this restaurant. We’ve order about 6 dishes, and most of them were tasty and good portion. Probably only 1 dish we would’ve skipped if we were to visit again. If you enjoy tea, you can try it at the end, they bring a cart of fresh herbs and will try to suit your liking.

We chose to order a la carte as I didn’t feel the set menus had the best options. Note: the chicken inside bread dish needs to be ordered in advance! I will have to come back to try this Also note: each person is charged 97 NTD + 10% service fee for water, so maybe bring your own water when you come. Dishes: - pine nut fish was big and yummy, would recommend - beef ribs was yummy but too spicy for the kids - beef soup was just a fancy presentation of Pho, would pass, they also only gave us 8 bowls for 10 people - eel with sticky rice was fine - veggies and fried rice are fine - mung bean cakes came with water order, it was fine - herbal floral tea prepared table-side for adults only Service: - I felt at a place that is charging this type of prices, it’s a bit nickle and diming people to charge more for small cold dish, especially as we only had 3 small bowls for 10 people. These should be refilled at no cost - the water cost is really a lot, I would bring my own water - each dish came out on its own, with the last two beef ones coming out 30 minutes and 45’minites. I thought the timing and speed of dishes were a bit odd and slow. Atmosphere: - great for large groups to have private dining space - bathrooms need to be maintained more frequently

Found the place on Michelin guide app and ordered the 6 person menu. Value for money and the waiter name Boy is very engaging in explaining the dishes. Worth a visit!
Margareta L — Google review
Overall, the food had potential, but the service and execution didn’t live up to its Michelin- recommended standard. The service was extremely inconsistent—our waiter forgot about our orders, and while the first few dishes arrived at a decent pace (every 5-15 minutes), the last two took an unusually long time (30-40 minutes). We had to remind the staff twice before they finally arrived. Additionally, it was difficult to get a server’s attention, as we had to step outside our seating area each time we needed assistance (5+ times, no joke) —clearly a sign that they were understaffed. As for the food, the technique was impressive, but I was disappointed that our squirrel fish dish lacked enough sauce. It would have been better if more sauce had been placed underneath, as some of the fish was served without any sauce at all, leaving it a bit dry.

Good place and nice service, presentation is great and price is reasonable with ita deco and food. A little too sweet for me but surely worthwhile to give a try

Great tasting food and pretty wide spread menu that caters well for everyone. Ask your hotel to book a table just in case.
