Guest house
Pigeon Square Rooms is a well-regarded hostel located in the heart of Sarajevo, offering both dorms and private rooms at affordable prices. The hostel provides free Wi-Fi, shared kitchen facilities, and pet-friendly accommodations. Guests can enjoy city views from their rooms and take advantage of amenities such as laundry services, car rentals, and a tour desk.
Damir and his family provided a clean, comfortable, and friendly atmosphere with the Pidgeon Square Rooms hotel. If you are interested in staying in Baščarčija, you can not find a better location. They provide fans (not AC) for comfort while sleeping and we had some of our best nights here. If you stay here, make sure you go to the pekara (bakery) just 100 m to the north along the road.

Great location! Damir was incredibly helpful, informative, and friendly — he made me feel very welcome. The room was clean, cozy, and well-maintained, with everything i needed for a comfortable stay. The surrounding area was easy to explore, with shops, restaurants, and public transport nearby. It truly felt like a home away from home. Definitely worth it, and i would love to come back again!
Nur H — Google review
Without a doubt one of the best places I've stayed in a while! The room was spacious, with great air conditioning and incredibly comfortable beds. There are two bathrooms, both with excellent showers, and a small shared guest kitchen. But what really made the stay special was the host, Damir. He was warm, welcoming, and went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed. I’d absolutely recommend staying here!
Renee C — Google review
My time at Pigeon Square Rooms was amazing! I arrived late in the evening, so they sent me detailed instructions for a smooth self-check-in. The bed was very comfortable and the room was surprisingly spacious! The air conditioning worked perfectly and was controlled by remote. The location is phenomenal, it truly could not have been more perfect. It is directly across the street from the old square and the famous fountain, so it is walking distance to everything. Plus, there is a grocery store and a bakery next door that are both open late. At night, the area is well-lit and I felt safe walking alone as a woman. The shared kitchenette was clean and equipped with utensils + other useful tools. There were more than enough shared bathrooms and they were all clean. The showers were hot and had great water pressure. Damir was an absolutely lovely soul and made me feel very safe as a solo female traveller. He is very friendly, professional, and clearly takes great pride in making Pigeon Rooms a great place to stay. I would absolutely recommend Pigeon Rooms and will definitely stay here again when I return to Sarajevo!

In superb location tucked right tourist spots old town, restaurants, cafe and groceries.. very close to tram and bus stations. Room are clean and comfortable on my 4days 4 nights stay. The host Damir goes beyond, he shows warmth welcome and did help in his most possible ways. Tnx for lending me the UK adapter and providing checkin in instructions and bus inputs connection to Serbia. Good job! Highly recommended.

Best hostel in Sarajevo! Location wise, budget wise, safety wise and comfort wise. Location because it’s literally just facing pigeon square. Facing the bus, tram and taxi station. Has 24/7 small convenient store beside the building and another big convenient store down the building. Just 10 steps away from 24/7 best bakery in the square. Budget because for the price this is already the best! Safety coz the main door and the door down is alwags lock and property has cameras inside. Comfort because the bed is super comfy and the rooms are super cozy. Clean bathrooms too! With mini kitchen that u can access all the time! The host and his family now became my friends since i always stay in this hostel whenever i travel. I just contact him directly to book and they very accommodating whenever i need to go to sarajevo! Just the best! Will always comeback and stay here whenever i visit! Thanks a lot my friend!!!

Wardrobe mirror was broken, bed head was very damaged. My friend room air conditioner was not working. He get sicked after returning the trip. There was no water in the rooms. There was a guy not knowing English. There was a woman who really was trying to help us thanks her. Even we tell the complaints about water to the guy, he gave a water to us when we leave and he try to charge us. 🤷
Güray A — Google review
Overall, it was a terrible experience staying at the hotel. I would not recommend staying at that hotel. The staff were rude, and they spoke little English. The beds were very uncomfortable, and there was no hot water in the shower. Although We included the breakfast; after looking at the kitchen area in our apartment, we decided not to have breakfast in the hotel. The cups and glasses were stuck in the cupboard, and the kettle was full of limescale.
Fahima A — Google review
It doesn’t even deserve one star If you are planning to come to you Elegant hotel Sarajevo please don’t it’s a waste of money. They don’t speak English .The man yelled at us and has no morals and respect. shouting at us in his languag .We had a problem in the night We saw two big mice under the couch. The bed sheets was stained .i saw a cockroach crawling on the sealing I took a picture for proof I showed the man he said to me it’s head lice and is saying in 10 years he didn’t have a problem.Again aggressively started to shout at us and in his language .We was refused breakfast and didn’t want to serve us and the women said the breakfast is at 10 and the man said it is finished at 9:30.One of the man he he purposely throwed glass bottles on the floor in front of younge kids he purposely got a broom and smashed it with the glass it was very frightening infront of kids.Overall it was a horrible experience when we left they didn’t even say goodbye or hello and ask if we wanted breakfast.
Jessica Z — Google review
Unfortunately I think this hotel was not as expected. It was mold in the bathroom, I could smell it. The cleaning was not done properly. The people who worked there could not speak even basic English. The internet kept disconnecting all the time. The breakfast was ok, but no buffet. I got issues when wanted to pay with my card, since the one who did not officially worked there but was helping out every day did not know how to do with the terminal/reader. I would maximum give this hotel only one star.
Johanna S — Google review
It’s ok, but I wouldn’t recommend it. The rooms are rather old, our fridge didn’t work and there was a constant smell of smoke everywhere. There’s a parking lot in the property, which is a big plus. There are some nice bars and places nearby. Maybe the best thing about it is that it’s very close to the airport, so if you’ve rented a car from the airport it’s convenient to stay in this hotel the last night of your stay. As long as you don’t mind the smoke smell.
Lef F — Google review
I recently stayed at the Elegant hotel unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with my experience. Firstly, the room I was assigned was much smaller than expected. Despite the fact that smoking was not permitted, the reception area was covered in a strong smell of smoke, which was quite annoying. I would like to acknowledge the friendly staff at the hotel, who were helpful throughout my stay. However, the issues with room size and smoking odor in the reception area overshadowed the positive aspects of my visit.
ATYEH A — Google review
The owner of this place is really beautiful from the heart. The staff was really kind. We were in the situation, where we were not able to find shelter for the night, there was one reason. But people of this hotel helped us a lot. I will always remember them and surely visit here again once in life time ❤️

Hotel
Nestled in the captivating milieu of Sarajevo, Hotel Radon Plaza stands as a testament to lavish indulgence. The modern hotel features streamlined rooms and suites, a rooftop restaurant with amazing views, an indoor pool, and a spa offering Finnish sauna facilities. Guests can also enjoy leisure activities such as bowling and billiards. The lobby bar exudes a soothing atmosphere for relaxation. Located about 4.3 miles from the city center and 1.
Hotel location is great, close to the airport, 10mins taxi drive from the center, 15 by tramway, and very convenient. Breakfast makes the difference, served on the 15th floor with a view over the entire Sarajevo, and the food selection is amazing. The staff is kind and professional. I would separate Nino from the main desk who is extremely helpful, kind, and professional. All in all amazing.
Edvin K — Google review
Our room and bathroom are big but there’s smell. It’s not a modern hotel inside. The view of the restaurant for brkfast is amazing. Receptionist is not good service. Far from city centre but u have tram in front of the hotel. Carpet is smelly.
Elvie C — Google review
not recommended if you are looking for a luxury hotel in Sarajevo, completely a nightmare! Room is clean and tidy, WiFi connection is strong and stable. However! The window is not openable, we have to open the main door to let the freash and cold air to come inside our room, we were feeling unbreathable. The air conditioning doesn't work properly, it can be turned on, however the temp cannot be lowered than 20 degree. we turned on the A/C all night, but the temp still maintained at 25 degree at night! Plus the unopenable window, it feels like sleeping in a sauna room. They don't have enough tables in their restaurant, the breakfast time was packed. We have to take our breakfast back to our unbreathable room, or eat it in their hotel lobby. Their reception is so unprofessional, a young man was tried to sort out my problem but completely got distracted by a young lady just went pass and started to talk with her! We were here in May, when the temp was around 25 degree max, take a second thought if you would visit here in summer!

Not a 4-star experienc Room wasn’t properly cleaned — hair on the bed and in the bathroom, used sugar left in the tea tray. AC blows at full power with no option to adjust airflow, only on or off.Had to change rooms; reception gave the new key but offered no help. Then my old room key stopped working while I was moving my things — had to go back to reactivate it. Only the restaurant met expectations — good food and service. Overall, disappointing. Ibis offers a much better experience.
Maria K — Google review
A very good hotel to stay when you travel to Sarajevo. Friendly personnel and a safe place to stay. The rooms are big and the price-quality is perfect.
Fahri A — Google review
Very comfortable hotel. Staff are very friendly. Rooms are very spacious, have large tv with local channels. Rotating restaurant on the top floor has amazing views- especially at sunrise and sunset. Restaurant itself is very good but has limited menu. Location of hotel is great, there's a bash burger (halal McDonald's copy) literally outside and theres a tram stop opposite which takes you into old town in 45mins. Not much else within walking distance but tram and taxis are cheap.
Fabian I — Google review
I went there pretty late so there was no available service but at the day time ı am sure that could been a amazing view to look at. And you are also sitting on a plca where the table you are sitting always rotating in a very low speed so you are able to see all of sarejevo.

Very big hotel and also very busy . Lot of food but decent quality at breakfast or lunch. Many sports teams , kids and youth so very busy And noisy. Have a pool but never used it . Seems busy with kids learning to swim coming from outside hotel . Their restaurant is pretty good . Eat there once . About 6 euro for the traditional meal of cevpavi ( not sure it spelled correctly )

I’m not usually one to complain, but my recent stay at this hotel has compelled me to speak up. From start to finish, it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Over the course of my three-day stay, not once was my room cleaned — no fresh towels, no trash removed, no beds made. For a hotel that claims to offer even basic hospitality, this is completely unacceptable. The reception staff were not only unhelpful but also shockingly rude. Any time I approached them with a concern or question, I was met with indifference, eye-rolls, or short, dismissive answers. It felt like I was an inconvenience to them, rather than a paying guest. The level of customer service was abysmal. As for the room itself — it was dirty upon arrival and stayed that way throughout my stay. The floors looked like they hadn’t been mopped in weeks, there was dust on most surfaces, and the bathroom smelled musty and felt unhygienic. I genuinely felt uncomfortable sleeping there. The general state of the hotel was equally disappointing. Hallways were dimly lit and smelled stale, the elevator was unreliable, and common areas were poorly maintained. I expected a modest stay, but this fell far below even the most basic standards. That said, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the only highlight of my experience — the restaurant staff. They were warm, courteous, and professional every time I visited. They went out of their way to make guests feel welcome and provided excellent service despite the chaos in the rest of the hotel. A sincere thank you to them for their effort and hospitality — they were the only bright spot in an otherwise dismal experience. 👏👏 Unfortunately, even their kindness isn’t enough to save this review. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone, and I certainly won’t be returning. There is no excuse for such a lack of cleanliness, professionalism, or basic customer care. DO BETTER ! !
Not H — Google review
Our trip started off well — the hotel looked clean and welcoming when we arrived. Unfortunately, that changed the moment we interacted with the reception staff. The front desk staff were rude and dismissive from the start, even though my grandfather was speaking to them politely and simply trying to be friendly. Their behavior was cold and unprofessional. The food at the hotel was decent, which was one of the few positives. However, on our second night, the hotel was overrun by a large group of boys (around 100 of them, aged 9–15), who were staying for a soccer event. Their rooms were located directly around ours — we had four rooms together as a family, including several elderly and ill members. At 9 PM, we wanted to rest after a long day, but that became impossible. Around 15 boys were running up and down the halls, knocking on our doors, shouting, and being extremely disruptive. There were no adults — no coaches or parents — around to manage them. We called reception to report the disturbance and were told security would be sent, but nothing happened for over 15 minutes. My grandmother then went to kindly ask the boys to be quiet — they laughed and gave a sarcastic response in Bosnian, which we couldn’t fully understand. The noise continued. My mother also asked them to quiet down — again, they laughed and ran off. Eventually, my elderly grandfather went out and firmly asked them to stop and return to their rooms. That’s when the coaches showed up and, shockingly, began shouting at my grandfather instead of the boys. At that point, my mother and I went to reception to report what had happened — the noise, the lack of supervision, and the coaches yelling at an elderly man. The receptionists responded with, “What do you want us to do?” — completely dismissive and unhelpful. When I insisted that this wasn’t acceptable, they began screaming, called the police, and started recording us. I have photos of the staff involved. Later, a security guard apologized for everyone’s behavior — both the staff and the coaches — and explained that he was the only security officer on duty. He was the only helpful and understanding person we encountered during our stay. To top it off, the hotel facilities were not as advertised: bathrooms were dirty, and some lights in our rooms didn’t work at all. Conclusion: Between the rude and unhelpful reception staff, the uncontrollable noise, the poor facility maintenance, and the unsafe environment for elderly guests, I strongly advise against staying at this hotel. This experience ruined what should have been a peaceful family trip.

The photos look good but in person it’s so tiny and there is no kettles there is no water in ur room and if y ask for water they will charge u waist of time and waist of money don’t go there unless u want to experience bad service and also the staff members were very rude to my father for no reason they looked like they are annoyed my father had to pay extra for a deluxe room with my mom but no they have a shower with no doors AC isn’t working and the smell of the room is absolutely disgusting I can’t believe this is a hotel I don’t know how this is 4 stars this should be 2 stars. don’t go there unless u want to experience bad service

A hotel we stayed in as part of our tour program. It is a very large hotel, so it is very crowded and always busy. The rooms were clean. We have no complaints. The breakfast options were not bad. The location is good, there is a shopping mall nearby. There are markets and venues. . It is close to the airport, there were airplane sounds.
Ali B — Google review
We were booked here by our airline, because our flight was cancelled. After arrival, they took our passports and refused, even after repeatedly asking them, to give them back to us. This is completely unacceptable. They wanted to keep them until the next day. Background: Their shift was about to end and they didn't want to do overtime. Ok, I understand that, but still, I'm traveling internationally, so my passport is my most important possession at that point. I've also never encountered a more rude staff member ever in all my years of travel. They must find a better solution than just "screw the customer". The rooms are dated and dirty, which is somewhat to be expected given the price, but a lot of things also didn't work properly. The entire hotel is very dated with outdated technical panels hanging from the walls and broken doors everywhere. We didn't stay the night however, because of the largest issue with this hotel: Fire safety. There were no evacuation plans anywhere - neither in the rooms, nor the hallways, nor the elevators - we checked. We also went down multiple "escape routes", only to find out that none of them lead to the outside and some of them were full of broken furniture or other debris. All of them, yes, ALL of the "escape routes", funneled into the lobby area, which is in the middle of the building with only one single exit - the main exit out the front door which is lined by restaurants, shops, planters, and other obstacles. Honestly, if we can't find a quick and easy way out of the hotel during normal operations, just imagine what would happen if the building was actually on fire. I'm usually not so obsessed with fire safety, but this truly shocked me. Trust me, this would end up on the news. We immediately checked out and went to a proper hotel downtown. Avoid at all cost!
William B — Google review
The breakfast and dinner were delicious and satisfying. The staff were generally warm and polite. However, the rooms need maintenance (such as non-functioning faucets), and the hotel’s fire exits are locked. Considering that a recent fire caused the deaths of dozens of people for this very reason, I believe this issue should be taken seriously.
Ahmet D — Google review
Very disappointing experience at Hotel Hollywood. I don’t understand how this hotel has four stars. The rooms smell very bad, and there is a strong sewage odor right in front of the hotel – like an open manhole. When we asked to change rooms due to the terrible smell, the staff refused and were not helpful at all. There is no customer service, and they seem completely uninterested in solving any problems. This is not what you expect from a 4-star hotel. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Hotel
Hotel Europe is a historic 5-star hotel located in the heart of Sarajevo, Bosnia. Established in 1882, this elegant hotel offers modern and fully equipped accommodations with a blend of Oriental and modern styles. It features cozy rooms and suites, along with amenities such as a gym, indoor pool, spa with saunas, terrace for sunbathing, fitness services, and airport transfers.
I had such a wonderful stay at Hotel Europe in Sarajevo. The location is right in the heart of the city, yet my room was quiet and peaceful, allowing me to get a comfortable night’s sleep. The staff were extremely accommodating. When I mentioned that the bed in my blue-themed room was a bit too firm, they kindly moved me to another room (orange-themed), which had a softer, much more comfortable bed—it felt like heaven! I ended up extending my stay because of how relaxed and at home I felt. Breakfast was another highlight: a huge variety of options, all fresh and delicious, and the waiters were attentive and professional. A special thank you goes to Marisa at the spa. She is so sweet, welcoming, and patient in explaining all the services they offer. Honestly, she’s the reason I chose this hotel in the first place! The spa itself is fantastic, with a pool, sauna, steam room, and a wide range of treatments like massages, facials, and body scrubs—perfect for being pampered without even leaving the hotel. Overall, I can’t recommend Hotel Europe enough. From the location to the comfort, service, and spa, it truly exceeded my expectations.

Definitely one of the best options to stay in Sarajevo. Perfect location in the middle of old town. Kind service and very clean. Did not taste SPA offer. Great breakfast, one of the best I’ve tasted lately. Rooms need a bit of refurbishment, that’s why did not put 5 starts.

Location is perfect. Rooms Beautiful. Staff at reception kind. But on separate occasions I rather strongly felt that I was not welcome here by the restaurant staff. Which is unfortunate because it significantly impacted my overall experience. But alas, perhaps if I was kinder for example said good morning to them when walking in, the experience may have been different.
Nikola J — Google review
Rooms very basic on 3rd floor, bathroom not clean, AC operated lousy, was able to open window (colleagues was not) but the noise from outside AC unit was unbearable. Price-list was obsolete and incorrect. Breakfast was very good. Reception also but: they were not able to organize taxi from the airport to hotel as I was “too late”?!? Beware of TAXI d(r)iver… they will try to scam you. Black Mercedes driver took 50KM (25 €) instead of max 20 KM (10€). Location good if you like to check the old part of town. People are very nice in general.
DragonS — Google review
Very disappointed with my stay. The AC was not working in two different rooms, and they asked me to move again to a third. The tub was clogged, the furniture is outdated, and the mattress and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. This level of service is unacceptable. I do not recommend staying here.

Charge 20€ for 24h, very high price. They don’t take € for the parking ticket at the counter and only cash is allowed. Very bad parking experience. Not very helpful staff. Wouldn’t recommend parking there

Experience the vibrant pulse of Sarajevo at ibis Styles Sarajevo, a stylish hotel ideally located near the airport and city center. With 181 contemporary rooms and spacious conference venues, this hip hotel offers a unique decor that blends modern and traditional elements, reflecting the city's winter sports culture. The restaurant serves organic dishes and non-alcoholic beverages designed to energize you healthily.
My stay at the hotel was absolutely amazing! The cleanliness, comfort, and perfect location made the experience unforgettable. What truly stood out was the exceptional service from the staff member Amina – extremely kind, professional, and always smiling. Big thanks to her for the warm welcome and helpful attitude. She’s truly a model employee! I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely come back again.

25 of us had stayed at this hotel for a charity trip, outings and also to take part in the Sarajevo half marathon. The rooms are clean, staff are nice, breakfast is great, location is great. No complaints at all. The lobby is spacious with plenty of seating. Other attendees of this hotel are very friendly. Gym and spa area is perfect. I would advise the restaurant rooftop staff have better training on customer service and hospitality, major room for improvement on that aspect but will not allow that to impact the rest of the staff and the hotel itself. Will be back again.

The location is amazing, The room very basic and spacious and will give all you need We order a room for 2)+child but we receive a room with no sofa , like what I saw in the pictures! The breakfast is awesome and there's a variety of great food, vegetables sweets and drinks . Very recommended for stay

Overall, the hotel has a nice and unique interior design inspired by the 1984 Sarajevo Winter Olympics, which gives it a cool vibe. The staff is super friendly, helpful, and welcoming — definitely a highlight of the stay. The location is a bit of a mixed bag. It's close to the airport and well-connected to the city center by tram (about a 30-minute ride), but the surrounding neighborhood feels quite industrial and rundown, with a lot of old empty hangars. Breakfast was underwhelming. The scrambled eggs were really watery and not enjoyable, though the fruit selection was decent. I stayed here for a business trip and didn’t use any of the other facilities. All in all, not a bad stay, but a few things could be improved.
Darko S — Google review
Well located and great facilities. The only thing I would improve is the breakfast and have an egg station so eggs can be made fresh also replenish the breakfast as if you get there half an hour before the end of breakfast there is nothing left. Give better training to the breakfast staff they were quite rude.

The hotel has a different concept, the staff is generally friendly, the parking is free, it is very nice, the make-up mirror is positioned a little higher, so my wife had a hard time, I think the light in the part where the make-up mirror is is not enough. The hotel is not in a very central location, especially to go to Bascarsi you have to drive 20 minutes. However, we were generally very pleased.
Taner B — Google review
Polite and helpful staff and clean rooms. The tram station „Alipašino Polje“ is just 5-10 minutes far away where you can have a cheap ride to city centre and it just takes 10 minutes to get to the airport by taxi. Right across the street you can find a huge supermarket. Had a nice stay :)

Unforgettable Wedding Experience – Everything Was Perfect! We recently had our wedding at this hotel and couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. I made the reservation through Mrs. Arnela, and from the very beginning, she was incredibly helpful, professional, and supportive. Her guidance and attention to detail made the entire planning process smooth and stress-free. The entire staff was welcoming and kind, and every part of our special day was handled flawlessly. The venue was beautifully arranged, creating the perfect atmosphere for a truly memorable celebration. Our room was clean, elegant, and very comfortable – exactly what we needed after such a joyful and emotional day. The housekeeping staff was also exceptionally friendly and courteous, which added to the overall positive experience. A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Arnela for her outstanding care and dedication. She truly went above and beyond, and we’re so grateful for everything she did. We highly recommend this hotel for weddings or any special occasion – it was a magical experience from start to finish.

Courtyard Sarajevo is a modern hotel with a stylish restaurant, bar, and fitness room. Guests can enjoy complimentary breakfast and Wi-Fi during their stay. The hotel's location is ideal, situated close to both the old town and downtown areas, as well as public transportation options such as bus stops and trolley stops. The friendly and professional staff members are highlighted for their exceptional service at the front desk and in the restaurant.
The location of the hotel is perfect with views to river, city and mountains. The breakfast was wonderful and has vegetarian options. Check-in was easy and quick. Entire facility is well maintained. The sky lounge is a perfect place to hangout in the evening enjoying the beautiful sunset. They surprised us with birthday cheesecakes! In the room the both room floor was getting wet while taking bath, can be improved by putting a sliding door at the bath cabin. A bidet for the WC would be good for asian guests.

The place to stay when in Sarajevo. Great location. Comfortable and well appointed rooms. Secure building and parking. Breakfast buffet is truly world class. And the staff are friendly and pleased to help. Have been coming here for many years and it still delivers.

I had a wonderful stay at the Marriott Hotel Sarajevo. The tranquil atmosphere provided a perfect escape, and its prime location made it easy to explore the city’s attractions on foot. The stunning views from my room were a delightful bonus. The staff were exceptional—friendly and attentive, making me feel truly welcome. And I can't forget the amazing breakfast; it was a highlight of my mornings with a great variety of delicious options. Highly recommend!

A pleasant hotel in a very good location, just a 15-minute walk to Baščaršija. The room was clean, the bathroom was on par, the bed was king-size. Only the minibar was empty upon arrival?! Plus: the coffee machine in the restaurant makes great coffee! Stuff is very friendly, I definitely recommend the hotel.

Rooms/beds are comfortable. Parking lot underground for 20 euro a night. Metered parking out front is free on Sundays (also after 7pm) or 2 Bosnian mark per hour otherwise. The Residence Inn is much nicer/newer, includes breakfast with your stay, has a washer/dryer, and is closer to old town. Staff here also a bit cold and snobby. Fine for a short stay, but for anything more than 1 night I would stay at the Residence Inn.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a pleasant experience overall. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location was convenient for exploring the area. The amenities provided were useful, and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next visit.

An exceptionally clean, well-maintained, modern, and chic hotel with all amenities, located in the heart of Sarajevo's beautiful old town. The view from the rooftop cocktail bar is a true highlight. A great base for exploring the surrounding area, which, thanks in part to its history in the 1990s, is definitely worth a visit.

Hotel Grand Sarajevo offers simple accommodations, some with scenic mountain views, in a laid-back setting. The property features two restaurants and a bar for guests to enjoy. Situated near the city center, central bus and train station, the hotel provides convenient access to various attractions. With ample parking space available, it ensures easy mobility for those with private vehicles. The rooms are tidy and equipped with comfortable beds and reliable Wi-Fi.
I stayed at Hotel Grand Sarajevo for two nights and had a fantastic experience. The hotel is well-organized, very clean, and offers an amazing breakfast with a great variety of options. I arrived very early in the morning after taking an overnight bus from Belgrade, feeling quite tired. As expected, my room wasn't ready yet, but one of the kind employees at reception noticed my situation and invited me to have breakfast before it finished. This small act of kindness meant a lot, as I was both exhausted and hungry – it really set the tone for the rest of my stay. After breakfast, I waited in the cozy bar area, where the service was excellent. The hotel is located in a quieter, more residential part of Sarajevo, which I appreciated, and my room had lovely views of the surrounding mountains. I highly recommend Hotel Grand Sarajevo for its comfort, cleanliness, and above all, the thoughtful and welcoming staff. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to the city!
Peterson F — Google review
We stayed at Grand Hotel Sarajevo for two nights. The location is convenient if you're driving—close to the old town by car—but unfortunately not accessible by foot for wheelchair users. Accessibility was a mixed experience. There are two ramps at the entrance, but one of them is steep and not up to standard. My partner, who uses a wheelchair, couldn’t manage it alone and needed assistance. The elevator was also too small for a power chair; I had to help maneuver it in. The room itself was spacious and had two bathrooms—one standard with a jacuzzi, and the other an accessible one. The accessible bathroom was thoughtfully equipped with a raised toilet, a sturdy foldable shower seat, and a handle. However, the drainage was poor and water didn’t drain well, which made showering difficult. Another issue was the bed height—it was far too low for easy transfers from a wheelchair, so we had to use a transfer board. Breakfast was good, with a nice variety of options. A highlight of our stay was Edi, one of the staff members. He was exceptionally friendly and helpful, and his fluent English with a British accent made communication much easier in a country where English isn’t widely spoken.

Disappointing Stay – Even 1 Star Is Too Much My stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing. Upon arrival, the air conditioning wasn’t working, making it nearly impossible to sleep comfortably. The bed sheets were dirty and even had blood stains on them. I tried changing the sheets myself, but I continued to experience itching every night — clearly, the bedding was not clean. The room was never cleaned during my stay and had a strong, unpleasant odor. The showerhead was broken, the shower itself was rusty, and the entire bathroom was in poor condition. The breakfast was equally unacceptable — it resembled leftover scraps more than an actual meal. While the hotel is conveniently located near the city center, that is unfortunately the only positive. Do not be misled by the online photos — they are completely inaccurate. When it rains, the noise from the drops hitting the roof is so loud it makes sleeping nearly impossible. Overall, this hotel is absolutely not recommended. For the price you pay, you should expect at least basic cleanliness and comfort. Honestly, even one star feels too generous.
Haberler B — Google review
We actually liked the place. The newly renovated family rooms with two washrooms are great. The airconditioning is good. The free breakfast has a lot of selection. There's grocery and bakeries nearby for immediate needs. Walking distance from train station and not too far away from the city centre either.

Very disappointing experience – unsafe, unprofessional, and misleading We had a truly unpleasant experience at this hotel. We made a reservation through Booking.com at 4:00 PM and received a confirmation that everything was in order. However, when we arrived at 10:00 PM, we were greeted in a rushed and uninterested manner by a grumpy staff member who said her shift was over. She told us the hotel was overbooked and she wasn’t sure if there were any rooms available. Instead of checking herself, she handed us a few room keys and told us to check if the rooms were free. Completely unprofessional. Once in the room, we discovered the air conditioning didn’t work, the shower only had cold water, and the room looked nothing like the pictures on Booking.com. What was shown online as modern and clean turned out to be outdated and gloomy. We felt misled. The worst part was the parking situation. The hotel only has 10 parking spots despite being able to host hundreds of guests. We were forced to park across the street on an unpaved, unlit lot with no security or camera surveillance. The next morning, we found that the back window of our car had been smashed, and all our luggage and shoes were stolen. When we asked the front desk for help or security footage, we were told bluntly that the hotel takes no responsibility and there was nothing they could do. No empathy, no support. In short: unsafe conditions, poor service, misleading information on Booking.com, and zero accountability from the hotel. Definitely not recommended.
Fahri A — Google review
If you want clean and comfort, do not come to this hotel. The hygiene was genuinely worst than a UK McDonalds toilet. When I arrived there was mould in the bathroom, yellow stains in the bathtub, hair in the bathtub. The shower head was wrapped up in duct tape. The bedding was awful too. I did not get a duvet but only the duvet sheet. There was stains on the bedding and on the pillows. The bathroom towels had stains on them too!! The breakfast wasn’t enjoyable for my taste palette but for others it may. Some of the reception staff were helpful but most weren’t. They refused to call for a taxi bigger than a 4 seater even though I saw many in Sarajevo.
Saima K — Google review
We were part of a tour group so unfortunately we had to stay there. Overwhelming smell of stale cigarette smoke when entering the foyer/ reception area. We were put in the accessible room on the top floor. Only positive thing is the size of the room. Spigots of the bath was totally loose and unusable. Plastic casing over the power sockets in the wall was totally loose and in my opinion unsafe to use. The shower was exposed without any door or sloped floor. We had to roll towels up and put it on the floor not to flood the place. Breakfast was almost non-existant. If you really have to stay here, please make sure you get one of the revamped rooms. Some of our group were lucky enough to get revamped rooms and they said it was acceptable. Unfortunately I can't recommend staying here

We chose this hotel because of the Booking.com reviews and its 3-star rating, but it was the worst experience we've ever had. I wish we'd read the negative reviews before going; I deeply regret it. The hotel I stayed in in India was cleaner and better quality. The rooms are very small, the walls are dirty, the bathroom is adjacent to the toilet, and it's completely unhygienic. Once you see the lady at the reception and hear her talk, you realize what a disgraceful establishment you've come to. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT GO WITH YOUR FAMILY.

We were stranded in Sarajevo without any accommodation arrangements. Fortunately, we were able to find Hotel Drina in the middle of the night, where a friendly older man helped us. We were able to park our car for free on their private property, accessible only to staff and hotel guests. The room was very spacious, with a double bed, a sofa, a wardrobe with a mirror, a small coffee table, a TV, and air conditioning. The balcony was also spacious with two chairs and a table. The hotel restaurant serves delicious food. The portions are also generous. My personal favorite is their corba! no way you'll leave here hungry. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Hvala vam!!⚘

Dear friends, foreigners are not welcome here, foreign travelers, please think twice before booking this hotel, please don't come here. This hotel doesn’t register white cards for foreigners, which is required by law in Bosnia for all international guests. They seem to do this to avoid taxes for themselves. But if you don’t have a white card, you can be fined 150 euros per person when leaving the country by the Bosnian border police, It’s a big risk, foreign travelers, please think twice before booking this hotel. The room also had a bad smell, like it hadn’t been properly cleaned. The receptionist was rude and didn’t seem to care at all that we were guests. It felt like they only want local Bosnian people here, not foreigners. If you’re a foreign traveler, I really don’t recommend this place.

We stayed at the Residence Inn, which is conveniently located near the old town. The staff were excellent, and the location couldn’t be better!! close to all the major attractions and plenty of nearby restaurants. Most of the old town sights are within walking distance. The breakfast selection was decent, though most tables are set up for two people. If you're with a group, it's best to arrive early to grab one of the sofa tables that can accommodate more people.

Spent 5 nights at this very central hotel, walking distances to the old town and famous bridges. There is a laundry room with washer and dryer, (I never take dirty laundry back home), service was very good, has underground parking, one small problem, the bidet switch should really be on the right side of the toilet. Apart from that everything was good, breakfast was mixed, continental and hot buffet. Room had a kitchenette, fully equipped with appliances and cutlery.

Breakfast was excellent, customer service was phenomenal. We arrived around 11pm the hotel was happy to turn on the sauna for me and my friends to use. They were more than happy to accommodate all our needs. The rooms were clean and I loved the feather pillows as they were home from home.

This is the nicest Residence Inn I have stayed at. If you have upgrade nights it’s worth using them to get one of the suites that comes with a giant balcony to enjoy the view. Staff was very helpful and clear at check in. I even thought the hallways were warmly decorated 🙂 Edit: uber and Lyft are not here yet. Also the cabs don’t take credit cards. There is an atm just outside the hotel 30 feet away. It gave me only one bill-suggest asking the front desk to break it up for you. The front desk will call a cab and it will arrive quite quickly or you can pre reserve the night before and pay through the hotel

An excellent mid range hotel. Great location, nice suite and friendly staff. No executive club but reasonable breakfast included. The only problem was the lights in the basement car park kept going out plunging the area into complete darkness. This cost-cutting measure is saving about 22cents over the course of a year, whilst at the same time causing guests to trip over and bump into objects whilst grappling in complete darkness.

Sarajevo is not Paris....and that is okay. This is a gritty city, and you need to know that before you visit. It has a long and at times painful history. The Hotel Central was unpretentious and a truly central location. The staff were super helpful. We highly recommend this hotel.

Central hotel of Sarajevo is certainly beautiful, well maintained, centrally located with many attractions within reach. The staff were friendly, and helpful. Overall the hotel is comfortable, cozy, relaxing…. Facilities & amenities meet the standard of four stars hotel. Breakfast is excellent with a lot of choices. The hotel doesn't have a king-size bed. They push two single beds together and sell them as king-size beds. When you arrive at the hotel later, you're disappointed. There are no double bedding in the rooms. The curtains on the windows don't cover them. The bathroom sink constantly overflows. The staff is generally polite, but they don't solve your problems. You can see from the photos how dirty the environment is. It's not worth the money you pay. I have never stayed in a worse hotel.

Hotel Sana is a trendy accommodation option located in the heart of Sarajevo's Old Town. The renovated townhouse offers bright quarters with minimalist Scandinavian design and quirky lighting details. Despite the relatively small rooms, the hotel provides indulgent touches like color-coordinated orchids and a charming terrace for relaxation. Additionally, guests can enjoy amenities such as parking, a garden, and an on-site restaurant with a terrace.
We stayed in one of the rooms on the top floor. Its window didn’t overlook the outside but rather the sky. Seeing the stars at night and waking up to the view of the sun in the morning was wonderful. The bathroom, bed—everything was clean. The only negative thing I can say about the room is that it took a long time to warm up. Other than that, the hotel's location was very central and close to everything. As for the breakfast, I have stayed in many hotels of a similar standard abroad, but this hotel's breakfast might be the best I have ever had. Different staff members work at the reception, and all of them were friendly and polite. Thank you once again for everything! For our next trip to Sarajevo, we already know where we’ll be staying. ☺️

Great boutique hotel located in old town, perfect for exploring Sarajevo, it’s history, great cafés, excellent restaurants, and museums. The breakfast is excellent with real eggs, meat, selections, pastries, fruit juices, yogurt, bar, and additional fixings. The rooms are comfortable, the air conditioning works, each room has great views, the inside is modern with a traditional twist, and the showers have great water flow. Laundry service is available and it’s very reasonable. We washed about 40 articles of clothing and it cost $20. Highly recommend this place.

Rooms are nice but bit smaller than expected. I was on second level so didn't have any views except old building across. Breakfast is nice, location great 😃. Unfortunately TV in my room didn't work - asked for assistance but was told not possible, luckily didn't stay much indoors

I had room 104. it is not a room, it is a closet. Room length: 250cm. Room width: 120cm. Bed width: 70cm. The window lead to a dark lightwell. Approx. 100cm by 100cm in dark grey colour. With a perforated plate on top so that no larger objects can fall down. The bathroom was comparably large with a nice shower. However, the toilet was squeezed between the wall and the shower. No possibility to clean yourself with paper. The room was extremely poorly soundproofed. When a toilet flushed in the floors above it sounded like it flushes through your head. I didn‘t need an alarm clock as the noise from the kitchen woke me up. I travel 8000km per year by motorbike and have never ever experienced a place like this, on top they charged me 65€ per night for a place worse then a hostel. Complete rip-off!!!!! I would love to add fotos to support

From the moment I arrived, the service was unacceptably poor. The front desk staff seemed indifferent and uninterested in helping with even basic inquiries. I had to wait an unreasonable amount of time to check in, and when I finally got to my room. It was so bad that I felt uncomfortable even using the facilities. To make matters worse, the water supply cut off completely in my room. After a long day of traveling, all I wanted was to take a shower, but this was impossible. I called the front desk multiple times, but there was no sense of urgency or any real effort to fix the problem. I was simply told that someone would "look into it," but no one ever came. This stay was an absolute disaster. The lack of basic cleanliness and the complete failure to address a fundamental issue like a lack of water is unacceptable. I would strongly advise anyone considering staying here to look elsewhere. You'll save yourself a lot of frustration and disappointment.

We had a great stay in this hotel, our room was on the 2nd. floor. The location was very good just 10min from airport Sarajevo. Hotel have a great big parking space. All the hotel staff were extremely helpful & friendly & couldn't have done more for us. Breakfast is served on the ground floor in the restaurant. Fruit, drinks, coffe, hot chocolate , cheese, salami,Sausages, bread & jams etc, Eggs cooked and fried how you like are all provided. All was very clean and we are going to stay here again when wi come back in Sarajevo.

Hotel Suljović is a modest yet charming hotel located at Kurta Schorka 22, offering down-to-earth rooms with complimentary Wi-Fi. The hotel features a low-key restaurant and cafe, providing excellent room service. Guests have praised the hotel for its great value for money, cleanliness, and friendly staff who are supportive in arranging logistics and providing local recommendations. Additionally, the hotel has gained popularity for its impressive gluten-free menu, attracting visitors from various locations specifically seeking out these delicious offerings.
I found the staff very helpful, breakfast was topped up with fresh items, anything you wanted they would make it fresh. The rooms were clean and spacious. Very friendly staff. Private car park under the hotel. Restaurants service open until 11pm, food very traditional and tasty. Would recommend it.

I only visited the restaurant. The food is ok, but they charge the bread without asking if I eat bread, so you must pay for it no mather you eat it or not. The good thing is that you have gluten-free meals, but the service is bad.

Very nice and kind staff Good rooms in new building The only thing is tap water is warm ( not normal in Sarajevo)

Honestly Im schocked by the high reviews. This is the worst "hotel" i have ever been. Its basically 2 hotel, a 4 and a 3 star one on the same building, same reception. Probably people reviewing the 4 star side on this page. The 3 star hotels name is nowhere to be seen by the way. Only the 4 star. I wasn't there so I dont know how it is but im sure this got good reviews because people mistakenly reviewing that here. The 3 star is not a hotel..not 3 star, i dont know what it is. Its the most disgusting place i have ever been at. We got the rooms, for this hotel, you have to go through the restaurant, there is a small door behind a wall, hidden. Few steps of to the corridor, extremely dirty carpets and walls. Then there is 2 sides of even this 3 star side. One is a really old dirty 4-5 rooms area with very old beds, ceiling with brown spots, brown very dirty carpets. Bathroom tile grout is black from dirt. Sheet was dirty, in the chest of drawer there was a plastic spoon, a wooden fork and a zip end. The other room we had is the same style, old furnitures, even my grandparents had better ones back in the days. Same black and dirty tile grouts, dirty window sills, and the most shocking, the chest of drawer. We found invoices and papers from 2024 and 2023(!!!!) laying in there, covered in some disgusting brown stuff. So assuming it wasn't even touched/opened in at least(!) 2 years, nor cleaned. Wemt down to the reception, immediately asked for another room. One guy came over, he entered the room and asked me what is the problem, he doesn't see any(!?). I couldn't believe it. I told him, he pushed his face into the duvet and towel to sniff it and he says its cleaned. I told him to look around and pointed out everything. He was confused and he said he calls a cleaner. I told him we want another room, not a cleaner, because cleaner obviously won't start to deep clean the carpet and paint the whole wall and ceiling, but if they dont have other room, just give us the money back and we can find slmething else. He took me to the other part of this 3 star corridor, with slightly newer rooms and showed us another room that he can swap for. He was helping, so at least he was okay and immediately helped us. It was definitely cleaner, but still dirty to be honest. We took that room. One of the bed was extremely squeaky we couldn't sleep properly. Like I'm not exaggerating. EVERY. SINGLE. MOVE. ive never seen such "matress". By the way the beds were the same kind as in the other room. Bathroom door was built in quite carelessly. The window which is at the shower btw, has no milky glass so if someone lives on the upper floor in the surrounding houses, they can see in. Luckily no more than 2 floor houses around it, but still. Bathroom has no hangers or anything. There was an power extension in the room, i removed it from the plug, and plugged it in next to the bed. It exploded, i threw it immediately. I nearly sh.t myself, Im not gonna lie. We could cry but we were very tired, travelled 24 hours so we needed sleep. Walls and windows are paperthin, even in the bathroom. Oh and nobody came to clean the rooms while we were outside. Mindblowingly bad. I've heard from another guest that he didn't even have window(!) in his basement room and had to leave after few hours because there was no air. I think the only good thing I can think of was this men who helped, and the breakfast, it was actually okay.

Hotel ia absolutely great value for money. Clean, close to the airport, staff very friendly and supportive in arranging logistics, advising on where to shop and what to visit in the city. Restaurant is particular surprise, you can expect the best national kitchen, and the best gluten free menu ever. I will for sure come for gluten free specialities.

Art Hotel is a charming accommodation located in the historic Bascarsija district of Sarajevo, offering modest yet comfortable rooms with free Wi-Fi. The hotel's convenient location allows for easy access to key landmarks such as the Gazi-Husrev Beg Mosque and the Roman Catholic Cathedral. Guests can enjoy international cuisine at the on-site restaurant and unwind at the cocktail bar. Additionally, amenities include a spa, fitness center, and swimming pool.
Could not ask for a better location — this hotel sits in the heart of the Sarajevo's old town, allowing many tourist attractions within easy walking distance. Our one-bedroom suite on the top floor was spacious and comfortable, making it the perfect retreat between the walking trips exploring different parts of the old town. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, adding to our overall wonderful experience in Sarajevo.

The manager that runs the waiters is rude and treats them badly in front of guests. Poor managment skills like he came from the village and got some power to run them. We tried to order more drinks at 22:47 that manager came and yelled at the waiter that we cannot order anymore.!The asian waiter was more than welcoming and nice. Guess mobing comes naturale to this manager. Hope that ‘manager’ he will be removed soon as he is unpleasent to his cooworkers and guests. Sad.

We had a wonderful 3 days at this hotel. Everything was perfect. From reception to the rooms, location and breakfast were worth the money. I will just add 2 bedlamps to the room. The Europa hotel is next door for drinks, swimming, gym, and public viewing. Thank you to the Art Hotel for their service.

Really not bad at all! The reviews made me wonder to stay here, but my wife and I enjoyed our stay. - Location is perfect. - Room is very good. Bed was really comfortable. Bathroom ok. - Breakfast was very solid and with good options. Dont hesitate to stay here. Of course is not a luxurious hotel, but it is a solid 3 star hotel and you cant beat the location.

I was left with a smart watch on the bed in the room after my stay, after a couple of hours when I found out that my watch was missing, I contacted the hotel, they said that they would confide in the cystatics, then the guy who worked at the reception started telling me that it was me somewhere second lost. After an hour I located the watch that it was turned off at the hotel's address, right after we left I sent an email to hotrl with the location, I never received any response from the hotel. I had a bad experience with this hotel beware

Booked through Agoda, i wasn’t disappointed. Staff was very nice and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. It isn’t an expensive place so its a great choice if you’re traveling on a budget.
Dávid B — Google review
Brilliant location, very central to old town Sarajevo, views over the main Mosque are great! Parking is a small car park squeezed between this hotel and hotel Europe. Be aware this hotel does NOT have a pool or spa as advertised, they allow you access to hotel Europe's pool and spa if you ask for a pass. We had a suit which had a bedroom, living room, large bathroom with shower pod and jacuzzi and a 2nd toilet room. The shower pod wasn't the cleanest with some black mold. Breakfast was disappointing, not a huge selection and the cooked foods were Luke warm.

Guests have praised its unbeatable location in the heart of the food quarter in the Old City and its proximity to Pigeon Square. The hosts Berin and Hana are known for their exceptional hospitality.
The hotel is very well located in old town of Sarajevo, close to Pigeon Square. You will be welcomed by Berin and Hana, amazing hosts, listening to their clients. Rooms are clean with a good price. I just can recommend you :-) I spent a great time there this summer !

The hotel is quite normal, with some minor deteriorations(my bed had one wood out of place hehe). The personal and the security guard are super helpful and kind. The breakfast has Bosnian coffee, bread with cheese, ham, etc; some yogurt, cereal and jams. Two important things are that, the hotel only accepts payment by cash (euro or km) and if you arrive late they make sure you can get in easily. Moreover, you are really close by to the main places (bazar, mosque, museums, etc;)
Mercedes P — Google review
Unfortunately, my husband and I had unpleasant experience at hotel Villa Orient. It was our wedding night and the man who welcomed us was very rude. We didn't have our passports at the moment and he didn't allow us to stay. - We paid for the room in advance and had scans of our passports. The receptionist/night guard didn't have any will to try to find another solution and we had to leave and get our passports in the middle of the night. We were very disappointed by his approach. He even insulted me, and didn't apologize until my husband demanded so. That was a very bad first impression. I have never had such an experience. Room was okay, but the bathroom was not in a good condition. I hope that with this review manager of the hotel will pay more attention to employees and services they provide, and that future visitors will have better experience.

I stayed for one night there. The staff were friendly with no doubt. I picked this hotel for its good location and accepting card payment. When I arrived they said they only accept cash! Also, i left the room in hurry when they asked me to check out. I left my ipad and ipad pencil in the cupboard. By the time I realized, I tried to call them but they denied having it although i am 100% it was in the room and I believe it was stolen.

In the old city nearby restaurants, coffees But that's it.. the breakfast was bad.. And the room wasn't clean. The staff is nice for sure. Hope the service will approve.

Stayed here twice. Location cannot be beaten - heart of the food quarter in the Old City. Air con. Decent breakfast. Parking available. Friendly staff. The rooms themselves are comfortable and clean. It's 3-star so set your expectations on that but it's done well. Overall, it's worth the money (which isn't even that much) for the location and amenities.
U — Google review
Bed is ok. Bathroom could be cleaner, its a hotel not just a someone’s house so why with such not really clean bathroom. Nothing special with breakfast. Wifi is very bad. With the same price I paid here I had a really nice experience in big 4 stars hotel in Mostar and with half price of this hotel I stayed at a very clean and comfortable spacious apartment near sarajevo bus/rail station. I recommend you to stay in this hotel only if you really can’t find nicer quality hotel with the same price in old town Sarajevo, or when all the hotels nearby are fully booked. Friendly personil tho.
Afifah S — Google review
First room had a terrible noise on the Airco, so we changed rooms. Second room was very dirty, with hair in the toilet seat, floor and sink. Bed sheets were not big enough to cover the whole bad and there was a nasty red mark on the bed and again , NO Air conditioning. We were traveling with 4, our friends also got a dirty bathroom, with hair everywhere and nasty shower head. The girl on the reception was very polite and helpful while the owner didn’t even want to talk to us and he was saying that I was only looking for discount, that the hotel was full and that at night the temperature drops and I don’t have to worry about being hot and left me speaking alone. I travel a lot and I have never seen such a thing.... The only plus about this place is the location.
