Museums
Nestled just south of downtown Reno, the Nevada Museum of Art is a must-visit destination for art lovers and culture enthusiasts alike. This accredited museum boasts an impressive array of contemporary art, altered landscape photography, and traditional Western art. Although it may be small in size, it offers a rich selection of both permanent and traveling exhibits that captivate visitors with their diversity.
It’s not very large but absolutely jam packed with awesome exhibits! Definitely worth the time to take and explore. The Ichthyosaurus exhibit is phenomenal and I felt like a kid exploring it. They have a cute cafe (didn’t eat; can’t rate the food) but it was packed and a nice sitting area in the lobby. Gift shop was reasonably priced for a museum.
Jamie T — Google review
Nice museum. $15 entry fee. Free parking. Gift shop inside. No magnets or stickers :( Not busy at all. The art inside was interesting. I expected more, we were a little bit bored and hope they expand it.
TheBayArea831 — Google review
Stunning museum. Excellent curatorial, education, and installation work. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the Art is top notch.

Historic museum always different art work and pieces to look at never disappoints. Also free every second Saturday of the month

I was fortunate enough to visit while the Dorothea Lange exhibit was there, and it was incredible. The Judith Lowry exhibit was just stunning. The museum has been recently renovated, and the gathering spaces were open and inviting. We visited two rooftop areas that are used for events with a great view of the city and valley. The ichthyosaur exhibit was very well presented with the video, fascinating stuff. My daughter was quite happy with the plush ichy she got from the well-stocked gift shop. I was a little disappointed that there were so few people there. With such a diverse selection of exhibits (Langston Hughes, Aboriginal art!), where were all the visitors? Anyway, I loved it and highly recommend a visit. Patronize the arts in every city you visit if you can!
W. W — Google review
Great museum with very interesting exhibits. Friendly staff. Free with NARM membership.
Daniel R — Google review
They had an excellent collection of Dorothea Lange photographs, a brilliant portrait of Ella Fitzgerald by Beauford Delaney, and an impressive collection of paintings by Judith Lowry. I think other reviewers here have been harsh. I quite enjoyed my afternoon at the Nevada Museum of Art.
Clay A — Google review
Walked from the airport on my layover. Totally worth it. I wish I could've stayed longer. The Langston Hughes exhibit was my favorite.

The National Automobile Museum in Reno, Nevada is a must-visit for car enthusiasts and history buffs. With over 220 antique and vintage cars on display, the museum offers themed exhibits that provide educational and historical insights. From classic American muscle cars to European sports and racing vehicles, the collection showcases decades of automotive innovation. The museum also serves as a unique event space for various occasions such as corporate training, weddings, receptions, and special events.
The National Car Museum is a phenomenal destination! Even as someone who isn’t a huge car enthusiast, I was captivated by the impressive collection. Each vehicle is displayed with detailed plaques outlining its unique history, manufacturing origins, historical uses, and original cost. The 1938 Phantom Corsair in Gallery 4, valued at over $2 million as of April 2025, is a showstopper! From movie cars to race cars, emergency vehicles, and fire trucks, there’s something for everyone. This non-profit museum, closely tied to the Harrah Casino and Resort, also features an amazing children’s play area, making it a great spot for those with kids or grandkids. I spent over two hours here, and the time flew by. Two thumbs up for anyone interested in automotive history—you won’t be disappointed!

Wow! We were excited about seeing this place, but had no idea how encompassing and incredible the collections and it were. So many things to see. So many incredible stories. Cannot recommend the docent tour that starts at 1:30 PM daily enough! Our tour guide was excellent. Very informative and brought things to life in a chronological history. It was a great experience. You’ll need lots of time to explore all of the galleries. Well worth it!!!

Beneath Reno’s sky so wide and clear, The National Automobile Museum draws near. A dazzling world of steel and chrome, Where every car feels like home. From vintage rides of days gone past, To sleek machines built to last, Each gleaming hood, each polished wheel, Whispers stories time can’t steal. Elvis’s ride, a shining star, And racecars built to speed afar, Classic curves and engines roar, Legends live forevermore. Kids laugh and play, exploring all, In this grand museum’s hallowed hall, Where history and passion meet, And every visit feels complete. So come and see this treasured place, A shining gem in Reno’s space, Where wheels turn dreams into art, And car lovers find their heart.
Yarick S — Google review
I absolutely love this museum! I got married here in 2017. I now have a membership and I bring my daycare kids once a month! The new child's play area is perfect for high energy kiddos!

The National Automobile Museum in Reno is an absolute must-see for anyone visiting the area. Located downtown along the Truckee River, this world-class museum celebrates the golden age of the automobile with one of the most impressive and beautifully displayed car collections in the country. The museum was born from the legendary collection of Bill Harrah, the gaming pioneer who spent decades amassing more than 1,400 classic cars. After his passing, the community came together to save a portion of his incredible collection, which now forms the heart of this museum. The result is a stunning tribute to automotive history, innovation, and artistry — all under one roof. The layout is fantastic, guiding visitors through themed galleries that feel like walking through time. You can stroll past early horseless carriages from the 1890s, gleaming luxury models from the Roaring Twenties, powerful muscle cars, and even one-of-a-kind celebrity vehicles. Some of the most famous pieces include the 1907 Thomas Flyer that won the New York to Paris Race in 1908, Elvis Presley’s 1973 Cadillac Eldorado, Frank Sinatra’s sleek 1961 Ghia, and the quirky “Jerrari” — a Jeep Wagoneer powered by a Ferrari V12 engine. Each car has its own story, and the exhibits bring those stories to life with detailed displays and historical settings. What really makes the National Automobile Museum stand out is the people. The staff and volunteers are friendly, passionate, and extremely knowledgeable. They clearly love what they do and are always happy to share fascinating facts or answer questions. Their enthusiasm makes the experience feel personal and engaging, whether you’re a lifelong car enthusiast or just someone who appreciates craftsmanship and history. The entire space is clean, well-organized, and thoughtfully designed — perfect for families, travelers, and locals alike. Every corner of the museum offers something interesting, from classic designs to rare engineering marvels. It’s easy to spend a few hours exploring and still feel like you’ve only scratched the surface. In short, the National Automobile Museum is one of Reno’s true treasures — a place filled with history, heart, and horsepower. A definite must-visit when you’re in town.

Wow! We just had the best tour ever! Mr. John Plow explained, in beautiful detail, about many of the amazing cars in the museum and the history surrounding them. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and look forward to bringing more visitors back with us again.
Wendy J — Google review
Awesome museum with a gorgeous collection. The best part is their collection of Ed Big Daddy Roth vehicles, including the Beatnik Bandit, one of the most important custom cars ever made.
Jeff L — Google review
Wow! What a great collection of cars! This is a very well organized museum with not only a great collection of cars but lots of extras added to give each area a special feel for the time era. It was fun to see not only some unusual cars but also vehicles used in movies as well. We spent about 2 hours here and highly recommend a visit!

Idlewild Park, located along the Truckee River, offers a variety of attractions for visitors. The park features lush green lawns, picturesque ponds, playgrounds, ball fields, a swimming pool and a skate park. Families can enjoy picnicking or take romantic strolls in the serene surroundings. The park also boasts a stunning rose garden with over 200 varieties of colorful and fragrant roses that provide beautiful backdrops for photos.
We are blown away at the beauty to be found in this lovely park. Having been traveling through lots of desert for the last few weeks, this was a huge breath of fresh air - literally and figuratively. And the trees we've never seen before! Their pines, cones, branches and scents were out of this world amazing. We love talking long walks in Nature, and this had it all, something for all the senses (esp hit the Sensory Garden and the Rose Gardens!!). So happy we were staying right across the river from here and could go here as often as we wanted/needed for our outdoor therapy 💗
Lea B — Google review
I stopped here for an hour with my family and our dog as we stayed one night in town passing through on our family vacation and we were not disappointed. This park is so beautiful and clean. I lived here for a couple years as a child and I have fond memories of this park, and I was pleasantly surprised to see it still there and just as wonderful as I remember it. I give complements to the city of Reno and the park service for keeping up with it, good job.

We love going to Idlewild park with our dog Leroy and his many friends! Easy access to the river, great walking and bike paths, lots of shade and grass. It's a wonderful neighborhood park with great access and connectivity to other trails and areas of the city.

Beautiful walk along the river. Outdoor workout area. Lots of trees and areas to have a picnic.

Well the family was gambling me and the kiddo went Shredder at this park we had so much fun! It's pretty small but it has great features and the locals are super friendly and nice as long as you're respectful like you should be at any skatepark that you're not local. great place!

Happened upon A fall Festival event, craft and food vendors. The leaves were turning, a clear crisp fall day. Plenty to do here with a pool, several play areas, rose garden, walking and biking trails.

My hubby & I love taking walks thru and around Idlewild Park especially when there's community events going on. Always so many beautiful things to see, especially the extraordinary botanicals garden. Definitely a great place for family and friends to gather.

Rancho San Rafael Regional Park, located in northern Reno, spans nearly 600 acres and offers a diverse landscape including wetland habitat, pasture grasses, and mowed lawns. The southern portion features various facilities such as volleyball courts, playgrounds, picnic areas, a dog park, hiking and biking paths. Additionally, it houses the Wilbur D. May Museum showcasing an extensive collection of artifacts from around the world.
This is my favorite place in Reno! The arboretum is awesome, the museum is great and there are amazing events throughout the year like the balloon races and the dragon lights. It's just a beautiful place to be all year long! They also have beautiful gardens that are available to rent for special events.
Holly K — Google review
The balloon races is an event I loved taking my daughter to. Family friendly, things are a bit pricey even though the event itself is free. But it seems like everything is pricey these days. Still a fun event! We also went to the Dragon Lights this year. I'd never been before, but it was amazing! My daughter, my parents and I had a wonderful time. Lots of people and parking was terrible, but there is a shuttle that goes from the front of the event all the way out to the last parking lot, so that was awesome 👌!
Melissa M — Google review
This is one of the largest parks in Reno, and it truly has something for everyone. The park is clean, well-maintained, and offers several parking lots and clean bathrooms throughout. You’ll find covered eating areas, picnic tables, a pond with turtles and ducks, horseshoe pits, and even a volleyball court. The fitness court and workout stations along the well-kept walkways make it great for staying active. With a botanical garden, three playgrounds, a large dog park, and year-round events, it’s a perfect spot to explore and enjoy!
Freda P — Google review
It was a beautiful visit even in the winter. The museum is amazing! I will have to come back to spend more time. There is so much to learn and see. Photos don't do this place, Justice! I didn't post photos of the museum because air didn't want to ruin the surprise. Definitely check it out, not your average park museum. There are also dragons!! The staff is passionate, friendly, and willing to help teach.
Jessica L — Google review
The best about this park is Wilbur D. May Museum. A cute small but very interesting museum. Lots of play & picnic area in the park. The place is world renowned for its annual famous Ballon Races in August. Love its central location around UNR as well.
Pratibha — Google review
Beautiful place. More effort needs to be put towards garbage pickup. All the bins were overflowing with some trash making its way to the water.

The Ballon races is always a fun event. Best to arrive by 3am and get your donuts and coffee early.

Observatories & Planetariums
Fleischmann Planetarium, located on the University of Nevada campus, is a captivating destination for families and space enthusiasts. It offers an array of educational and entertaining experiences, including hands-on exhibits in the Exhibit Hall, mesmerizing shows on the 10-meter Dome Theater screen, and a Science Store for souvenirs. The planetarium boasts a rich history as the world's first to project full-dome movies in its unique dome-shaped theater.
Small but excellent educational activity. Admission is only a few dollars and parking is free on weekends. I have elementary aged kids and this place is perfect. We can stop in, watch a dome show, and spend 15 minutes learning something new. It is easy to access, so we come more often and enjoy it more. I used to visit a large planetarium in Chicago that was impressive but expensive and an all day commitment with challenging parking. This community planetarium is simple, affordable, and welcoming. The front desk staff were very kind and helpful.
Daun V — Google review
I visited on Friday 20, 2024 in December. Small but out of this world. Bring the kids in your life and your inner child too. There’s (very limited and free) reserved parking across the foot bridge on the third floor of the parking structure. Snag a permit from the staff and be sure to read the signs to prevent a parking ticket. Apply those savings in the little gift shop to support the museum.
Seventh R — Google review
Extremely disappointing experience. The planetarium was advertised as free, but when we arrived, we were unexpectedly charged at the entrance - no explanation, just a demand for payment. Most of the machines and interactive exhibits were broken or out of order. Honestly, there was nothing interesting to see. To make things worse, the place was filled with random items that had nothing to do with astronomy - like a sarcophagus, Iron Man masks, and other bizarre decorations. It felt more like a chaotic storage room than an educational space. Total waste of time and money. We came expecting a meaningful and inspiring experience about space and science, and instead got a messy, disorganized letdown. Would not recommend.
Maria — Google review
I really enjoyed the full dome presentation, such a cool and unique experience! The space is small and cozy, which makes it feel really personal. The guide was super knowledgeable and shared so much great info. I also loved checking out the displays and exhibits. Overall, it made for a really fun and relaxing evening!

The Star Wars precursor to the Roddenberry awards for the best short science sci-fi film festival. This year was absolutely amazing. We had a fantastic time. The winner was MT Nestor !! the Star Wars effects were great the Director and host was fantastic. Everyone was very nice and costumes were had.!! The super tall guy in black, Lord Vader, was intimidating as usual ! All the films we got to watch were wonderful really all-around an amazing night!!! thank you to the Fleishman Planetarium at UNR!!

I’ve loved the Planetarium since I was a kid! It’s such a fun and unique experience, perfect for kids to learn a little science while having a great time. The shows are always fascinating and really affordable too. The kids have a blast with the exhibits and the gift shop every time we go. Such a great place!

Awesome place to visit if you’re into space exploration! The show presentation room is super nice, and while the exhibit area is small, it’s really informative. Plus, free parking on the weekends is a nice bonus!

The Great Reno Balloon Race is a must-see event, drawing over 100 colorful balloons from across North America to Rancho San Rafael Park every September. The three-day spectacle features early morning aerial displays and races, creating a stunning sight for landscape photographers. Originally starting with 20 balloons in 1982, the event now attracts up to 100 balloons and 120,000 spectators annually. Families with young kids can enjoy the vibrant colors and lively atmosphere at this popular event.
I had the pleasure of attending the Hot Air Balloon Race in Reno, and it was an unforgettable experience. The event is a must-see, especially since it's free to the public. We arrived around 3:33 AM and found plenty of free parking a little further down the street, but I recommend arriving early to secure a spot. A key tip for anyone planning to attend: the early morning temperatures can be quite cold, so be sure to bring blankets and pillows to stay comfortable while you wait. It’s also a great idea to pack snacks and a warm beverage, like tea, to help keep you cozy during the event. Overall, it was a fantastic outing for families and balloon enthusiasts alike. The vibrant atmosphere and the sight of the hot air balloons were absolutely worth the early wake-up. Highly recommend this event to anyone visiting Reno

I went to the Great Reno Balloon Race in Reno, Nevada for the first time today, and it was absolutely magical! 🎈 The balloons rising at sunrise, the colors, the energy—it’s an experience you’ll never forget. Waking up early was totally worth it, and staying close by made it so easy to enjoy the whole show. Pro tip: Buy your parking ticket online ahead of time—it makes everything so much smoother. If you love beautiful sights, early morning adventures, and pure magic in the sky, this is a must-see. Can’t wait to go again!

This was our first time experiencing Dawn Patrol together as a couple, and it was truly unforgettable. We were absolutely stunned by the sight of the hot air balloons lighting up the early morning sky. It was definitely cold, but 100% worth it. This marked the beginning of what we know will be a yearly tradition for us. We feel lucky to live in Reno and witness such a magical event right in our own backyard.

Vip parking was wonderful right by the tent. Morning! Glow was absolutely amazing and so was dawn patrol! Absolutely magical whether you're in the VIP tent or in the field. The mass Ascension is just unbelievable. Highly recommend!

We both loved the morning daylight of colorful balloons. We came back the following morning at 4:00 A.M. to see the "glow". It was great fun!

It was awesome. I fell asleep in the grass for a bit of it cause it's in Reno and it's super early so I was not ready to wake up that early. But it was so much fun Seeing the balloons so close and glowing was something everyone should see.

Located in downtown Reno, "The Discovery" is a state-of-the-art science and technology museum that offers interactive exhibits and temporary displays. Opened in 2012, it has become a popular attraction for both locals and visitors. The museum focuses on technology, engineering, science, math, and art. It features hands-on exhibits such as an anatomy experience showcasing how bodies function, a Smithsonian laboratory exploring invention and marketing, and the "cloud climber," an interactive area teaching about clouds and rainfall.
I love this place. It was just my husband and myself this time, but I would love to bring my kids and Grandkids here. Lots to see and do. The entrance cost was only 15$ per person, great value. Be sure to hit up their gift shop, it's got a bunch of cool stuff for sale.
Tonya M — Google review
I love being a member of this museum. I can bring the grandkids back anytime. Sometimes we are here for only an hour, others several hours and we bring a lunch. The first picture is my grandson almost 4 years ago, he is now 5. Watching him grow up in this museum and rediscover things here is so wonderful. He loves the NASA room and he and his brother (4)love the robotic rooms. Was the first time for the 1 year old. The boys love ,love, love the bubbles days and storytelling. Thank you for offering the passes that allow me to bring my grandchildren in anytime. Can't wait to start signing them up for camp! I do wish you had a place for us to put our lunch boxed/small cooler bags so we didn't have to run out to the car with all the kids and back in again. Especially when it gets cold out.

I know every time we return to Reno we will be making a stop here, wish we lived closer. Fantastic place to take the entire family or just yourself.

We had a fun time while visiting. Our kiddo loved the 5 and under area as well as the water table. If your kiddo is older I'm sure they would have more fun.

The National Championship Air Races, also known as the Reno Air Races, is a thrilling and unique event that takes place at the Reno-Stead Airport in Nevada. This five-decade-old tradition features professional pilots racing their aircraft over three- to eight-mile courses, ranging from World War II planes to modern jets. Despite a major accident in 2011, the event continues to showcase impressive speeds and heart-stopping races.
We love the Reno Air Races. I would recommend getting the pit passes if possible. You're right next to the action and there's a real sense of community in this sport, that's great to see. We even got to visit with one of the pilots that had just raced. (The red plane in the photos). Overall they put on a great show. There are races, aerial shows and lots of displays to look at. We're very excited about the STOL races being added to the lineup. This year the U2 came by. Amazing! It is so good we are spending more than one day there. My son and dad love planes, this is their thing every year!

I had an awesome experience seeing this event for its first year in Roswell, NM with my father. We were able to see some amazing military aircraft up close (planes from WWII to present day) and watch some of the incredible pilots show off their skills. There was lots of good food and the announcers were entertaining and informative when it came to commentating on the air races. I would go again!

For years I have enjoyed the Reno Air Races. Ever since I was a little girl. I would always be amazed at the stunts and shows they would do, but for most of all I would love to just go and see all the planes… It’s definitely sad to know this is the last race we will see. But it’s was also very sad to see amazing pilots be lost…. The memories of all the races, pilots, military, volunteers etc… It will be for ever remembered I thank you all. To those who lost a love one at a race through out the years, I know it was their passion, and they forever live in our hearts still to this day, their memories have been engraved in our hearts. Keep on flying in the sky’s! 💕✈️🛫

This is the LAST RENO AIR RACE. Better get here before it's too late. It's an amazing experience with some of the best people in the world. We love this show and we're going to miss it!

The best event/air show you will ever go to! Take my word for it, I’ve been to the races every year of my life (16 years straight) and have never missed it once, and hopefully never will. This is truly an event like no other, I promise you that! Great for the whole family, aviation enthusiast or not! If you want more details or a visual presentation please visit my YouTube page (Nevada Boys) where we have a video titled “Reno Air Races 2019”. Once you come to the races you’ll never want to leave! I can’t explain how much I love this event and trust me, you will too! The below photos are mine from the 2019 event.

First time going and had an absolute blast. Looking forward to next year. Little smokey but still a great event ! If you are an aviation enthusiast definitely need to come here.

An incredible experience for the whole family. I highly recommend this event as part of every yearly destination on everyone's agenda. Stimulating for the kids as well as adults and getting a pit pass is highly recommended to engage up close with planes, pilots and the whole aviation community that takes part of the world's fastest motorsport.

It was my first time but we'll worth it! We stayed all day and not one minute was boring. They had so many air shows going on throughout the day. If you haven't been I highly recommend it. And if you ha e gone before you know you will go again!

The Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts is a unique and impressive theater located in downtown Reno. It features a wide variety of performances from ballet and opera to Broadway plays. If you're looking for an entertaining night out, the Pioneer Center is definitely worth checking out!
This is always one of the best theaters to see shows that is deceptively larger than it looks from the outside. They have tons of volunteers that help you find your seat and the seats are very comfortable.

Parking situation is absolutely horrible. Most of the staff was nice. They will not let you back inside the event from the restrooms if there is a song playing and the elderly ushers will Naruto run at you if your phone lights up inside or you try to take a photo while you are seated and tell you to turn it off.
Sarah — Google review
I always enjoy my time at the Pioneer Center and am so grateful to have access to a quality theater experience. The staff always go above and beyond to make our transitions as quick and easy as possible despite how huge the crowds can be! All of Reno is thirsty for new experiences, and the Pioneer always provides. Some of our best memories are getting dolled up and inspired for each performance, and we'll definitely be back for more. Thank you for everything you do!

I remember back in the day my class from sun valley elementary took a field trip here and it was great I still have those memories to this day! Boy how time Flys I forgot what musical we seen but you should of seen all of our little faces and eyes back then we where amazed by the women and men performed on stage that day it was cool. When it came time to leave and go back to school we didn't want to leave at all and this place was nice and let us bring in our packed lunches and let us enjoy. Because of all these positive experiences I will never forget this place at all kinda brings tears to my eyes because how well us children were treated that day thank you from the bottom of my heart! I'm now 36 years old that's how long ago it was.

A lovely venue! Just lovely. They bring great shows and embody performance art in every form! You will thoroughly enjoy yourself and the performances. The ticketing process is made easy and you can avoid the online convenience fee by simply heading to the box office to purchase tickets! Elevators for those whom cannot do stairs and well maintained restrooms and auditorium.

The Wilbur D. May Center is a year-round destination located in the Rancho San Rafael Park, offering a museum filled with exotic artifacts, an arboretum, and botanical gardens. Named after Reno philanthropist Wilbur May, the museum showcases his international artifact collection from his global travels. The botanical garden features numerous plant species from around the world, including rare specimens, while the 13-acre arboretum displays diverse trees, rock gardens, waterfalls, and wetlands.
Lovely place, with a rich history and a huge collection of artifacts. A super friendly staff makes your visit a pleasure and very informative. Go with a lot of time and check the amazing arboreum around!

I took my family. We did a scavenger hunt through the exhibits. It was hyped up to me as a major kind of museum. It is small for a museum but large for a rich mans collection of things. It's interesting and the area around the outside of the museum is very nice for a walk. We enjoyed it.

Dragon Lights are amazing! Nice little walk to see displays & watch the children & adults smile in awe of it! The only bad part was the parking.

Incredible story of Wilbur D. May, showcasing some of his vast collection from his decades of world travel. A very talented adventurer, song writer, rancher, soldier and artist this collection from other cultures he visited is worth your time to visit. We spent about 90 minutes here but you may want to take longer. Consider visiting here as well as walk the beautiful surrounding grounds.
James B — Google review
What an amazing arboretum! The grounds are huge and beautifully kept, with such a great mix of plants and trees. Whether you’re a total plant lover or just want a peaceful walk in nature, this is the place to go in Northern Nevada. The staff is super friendly and really enjoys working with school and educational groups ,definitely a great spot for a fun science field trip, too!
Yvonne J — Google review
The Wilbur D. May Center includes both an arboretum and an interesting museum highlighting the life of Wilbur. The arboretum is free to visit, except at night in the fall when the lantern festival is going. To visit the festival is a bit pricey. The museum is reasonably priced ($5 for a senior). We found the gardens to be peaceful and even discover the remnants of what rides that were once an amusement park. The museum contains numerous artifacts from the travels of Wilbur and a large number of taxidermy animals such as tigers, giraffes and other large game animals. I was shocked to see so many…… I found the story of Wilbur and his life quite interesting.
Susan H — Google review
A well run children's museum with interactive exhibits. We saw the dinosaur exhibit and we were informed that the candy land exhibit is no longer occuring. Please call ahead if your unsure, staff is polite and the museum has a stamp pass for kids or groups. ADA accessible
Adrian B — Google review
I was not expecting such a variety or quantity of unusual items. The taxidermy alone would have been worth it, but there are extra cultural items like masks and weaponry that were just fascinating. The Arboretum is gorgeous and huge. Pretty sure I only got through some of it, and I would go back just to explore outside more. Can't recommend enough, any plant or bird lover would have a great time enjoying all the wildlife.

11National Bowling Stadium

Bowling alley
The National Bowling Stadium in Reno, NV is a top-notch bowling megaplex that offers something for everyone. It features 78 tournament-quality lanes, including 10 family-friendly ones and a theater area with seating for 172 people. The stadium's iconic architectural design includes a grand stainless steel geodesic dome, earning it the nickname "The Taj Mahal of Tenpins."
Definitely worth a visit, even if you (like me) couldn't care less about bowling! My train was 4 hours late so I wandered in, laughing to myself: "What could a bowling stadium* possibly look like!". The minute I walked through the front doors, I wasn't laughing anymore! Even the lobby is impressive, with three-story stairwells and escalators assending to the left AND right. As you ascend, the walls are covered with pictures of all the bowling greats. When you get to the top, you're greeted with what I would describe as the nicest bowling alley I've ever seen, on steroids! Too many lanes to count, so I asked somebody. He responded: "78 up here and 10 more downstairs.". As you'll see if you watch the video**, they were preparing for the USA team trials, and the young contestants were drifting in. Adjacent to the lobby is a bowling museum that would make any sport proud. * My only disappointment was that the description of stadium seems a little grandiose. The seating is apparently tucked away upstairs, in the rear. So much so, that I missed it! **Recorded panoramic video of the lanes and the museum, but found out Google doesn't allow it for reviews.
Bill D — Google review
This expansive and impressive facility features numerous lanes across multiple floors. All staff encountered were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The convenient, attached, and complimentary parking garage is a significant advantage. However, the limited food and beverage options warrant a four-star rating instead of five. Competitive establishments provide a broader selection and designated dining areas. Furthermore, while ample seating exists across two floors, increased stadium seating on the lower level, closer to the lanes, would enhance the experience during events.
Enrique S — Google review
Fascinating bowling venue in downtown Reno. You cannot call this a bowling alley because it’s huge with 70 lanes. There are 5 floors with food, drinks, and a pro shop that rivals golf pro shops. A spectacular facility that hosts tournaments practically weekly. The staff are exceptional people as well as security, concessions, and tournament personnel. Keith in the pro shop is very knowledgeable and gives in depth advice about bowling balls, accessories, and bowling techniques. This stadium is a must for all that love the game of bowling!
Mack S — Google review
This was such a fun field trip. I was bummed that the museum wasn't open as I was really looking forward to seeing the memorabilia. That just means I will have to go again. Great experience.

The National Bowling Stadium is an impressive facility that boasts state-of-the-art amenities and a welcoming atmosphere. The venue is clean and brand new, with sleek modern design and comfortable seating. The lanes are well-maintained and offer an excellent bowling experience for all skill levels. The photography staff is exceptional, always ready to capture memorable moments and provide high-quality photos. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, making the entire experience enjoyable. The facility also has an excellent selection of food and drinks, making it a great place to spend time with friends and family. Overall, the National Bowling Stadium is a must-visit for anyone who loves bowling and wants to have fun in a clean and modern environment. I highly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a great time and a memorable experience. The tournament wraps up July 24th!

I've only been here twice (2024 & 25), and I have enjoyed myself both times. Bowled a 3 day tournament (fri, sat, sun) in the Reno Invitational (a 3 separate weekend event). Gina, your tournaments always ROCK! The waitress did not accept cash, credit cards only. Clean restrooms, plenty of stalls, and a couple of single family restrooms as well. NBS thank you for the lovely hospitality and see you again in 2026 if not before. P.S. a great place to have your company, family, and birthday parties at...👍🏾
Andre W — Google review
Beautiful and huge! Bowling alley has 78 lanes. Great for the USBC Tournaments. Gave only 4 stars because you don't want to bowl in the lanes at th end. We biwled our Doubles and Singles on 75/76 and it was SUPER HOT!! There aren't a/c vents at the end. I was so hot I asked if they had a fan for us....not one available. The guy even commented on how hot it was there. I about passed out. And I had a small fan. My last game out of 6 was an 88.....I just wanted to get out of there. Cooler outside.
Mandy B — Google review
I bowled here for the 2023 nationals and it was a great facility. Everything there was very nice and well kept. The lanes were great. The one complaint I have (and it is borderline taking a star off) was that they stopped selling alcohol at 9:30PM. Considering the last shifts of the day started at 9:30PM, that didn't seem too smart. I'm sure I'll be back for future events.

My family and I went on Christmas day, and it was amazing. It had a beautiful, calm environment that was the cherry on the top for Christmas. We loved how the public bathrooms were still open, even on this day, for my little girl to use the restrooms comfortably. Although 3 of us did fall (we didn't have shoe boots), we loved the clean experience of this well-kept trail.

A great place to hike and spend the day. There are picnic tables, bathrooms, and a great visitor center! Myself, my husband, son, and dog walked about 6 miles all together. There are many places to explore and enjoy. There are multiple parking lots. So lots of parking. Flowers were blooming. We even saw a rabbit. Please keep your pets on a leash. We ran in to dogs being off leash, not recalling, and rushing in. Our dog is friendly, but things happen.

Hunter Creek Trailhead is a popular hiking spot in Nevada, known for its scenic views and beautiful waterfalls. Although there was a recent fire in the area, the lower hiking area and falls were not affected. The trail offers a few city view spots and can be challenging with rocky terrain. It's recommended to allocate about four hours for the hike, including a stop at the waterfall for lunch.
Hunter Creek Trail is widely regarded as one of the best hikes in the Reno area. The trail offers a beautiful mix of open terrain and shaded forest, making it a diverse and scenic adventure. Most of the hike is exposed to the sun, so it's recommended to start early in the day to avoid the heat. Toward the end of the trail, you'll be rewarded with a peaceful stretch covered in trees, creating a cool, serene atmosphere that feels like a hidden oasis. The highlight of the hike is a stunning waterfall at the end, which makes the effort well worth it. Make sure to bring plenty of water, wear a hat to protect yourself from the sun, and choose sturdy hiking shoes—some parts of the trail can be a bit rocky and uneven.
Sai S — Google review
This is so beautiful and fun to be outdoors and enjoy nature. This hike is a 3 mile hike up 3 mile hike down. Make sure you start early and have plenty of water and hat because you’re going to be in a direct sun all the way to the waterfall and then you will get closer to the forest.

Cold, briskly running mountain stream coupled with hiking and horse trails with occasional views of the Reno valley. Nice and cool getaway on a 90+degree day. Dog friendly, not crowded. Does have pit toilets, drinking fountains and garbage collection at the base parking lot.
Tim D — Google review
We enjoyed this hike. It's fairly exposed a great deal of the time, wear sunscreen and appropriate clothes. Our GPS and another couple we met on the trail indicated it was over 7 miles. Not very intense but not easy either. Parts of the trail are narrow, loose rocks, and at the end, you'll need to cross the stream by logs. It is worth the hike! Absolutely beautiful falls!
Kristin H — Google review
Maintained trail follows Hunter Creek for about 2.5 miles to the falls. It's mostly uphill, and totally exposed, for the first 1.5 miles, then enters a nice wooded section before reaching the falls. I started around 6am & had the trail largely to myself until the return.
Kreston A — Google review
Hunter Creek Trailhead is one of the most accessible and rewarding hiking trails near Reno. Nestled in a dry mountainous landscape, the trail offers a calming escape with the gentle sound of the creek flowing alongside. A warm breeze often follows hikers through the terrain, making the experience both refreshing and rejuvenating. In the summertime, you’ll enjoy the mild, sweet scent of wildflowers. Much of the trail is lined with vibrant desert blooms, adding color and life to the rugged scenery. Along the way, you’ll encounter impressive rock formations, shaded stretches of dense pine forest, and ultimately, a stunning cold-water spring fed by freshly melted snow cascading over rocks—a well-earned highlight at the trail's end. Distance (round trip): ~5.5 miles Duration: Approximately 3 hours Tip: Bring an extra bottle of water. The higher elevation can leave you feeling thirsty faster than expected. Caution: This is a wild trail—watch out for reptiles. Carrying a hiking stick is a smart precaution. additionally, walking path is very narro one person walk, be careful when walking

This long-distance pedestrian and bicycle trail offers a unique way to explore the famous bodies of water in Nevada, with opportunities for hiking, biking, fishing, and wildlife spotting. As it winds through Downtown Reno and into Sparks, the trail descends over 2,000 feet in total.

The Tahoe-Pyramid Trail is a nice trail which follows the Truckee River and Hwy 80. The trail stays close to the river a majority of the way and has a few historic buildings along the trail. It's gradually climbs the canyon and offers a unique and peaceful experience. I mountain biked from the lower start of the trail about two miles before turning back around.

Nice nature, river, mountains while hiking, but the noise from Hway 80 spoils it....one can hear trucks/cars constantly....perhaps there are sections which are more quiet, but few miles from Verdi it's pretty noisy.

We've been to Urban Air in Reno and I found this place much better for younger kids, and they're open at 10a midweek which is amazing for stay at home moms like me. There's a lot for every age kid to do age 2 and up. They even have a zone for smaller kids and a Ninja zone for kids over 48". The staff was nice and helpful. We happen to go Friday morning and they have a parent and tot deal that was awesome. We drove down from Truckee, I only wish we had something like this up there. Located in Reno, NV, Need 2 Speed offers an exciting indoor go-kart racing experience suitable for the entire family. The facility features a long track and eco-friendly karts with a strong emphasis on safety. Visitors can expect a well-organized and clean environment with excellent instruction focused on precision driving rather than just speed. The friendly and accommodating staff ensure that both first-timers and experienced racers have an enjoyable time.
Everyone was super friendly and attentive. Pamela helped us while we were bowling and was especially kind and helpful. The woman who checked us in was also informative and awesome. The arcade, bowling, and go-kart racing were great. We definitely had a lot of fun.

So far...not pumped about how I was treated on the phone. Hopefully, I will be changing this review after my kids race. Still going to check it out, however, if we are at the desk, and are treated the way I was on the phone ... Well... we'll see. I really hope to erase this review in a couple hours! //Update. The desk folks were nice. The race kids were great! The racing was fun! While we were racing...most of the time we were red flags on the laps, meaning, they shut our karts off, because one person in the race really liked slamming in to the walls. Maybe if we had a different group it would have been more fun. However, we didn't and it was less fun. After mentioning it...we got an, "okay". That's all. We had fun, when we were having fun.

The place was fantastic. They have so many things to do.. outside ganes, mini golf, racing, ducking bowling, arcade... We had 7 kids all ranging from 7 to 15 and they all had a great time.. The staff at the track were super helpful with the little kids who were racing for the first time. My 7 year old CANNOT wait to go back! The staff in the restaurant were so nice and friendly. Our server Pam was absolutely amazing!!!!! The food was great and portions were big.. We live 4 hours away and will be coming here every time we visit Reno.

Been to Need for Speed both at old location + then recently visited the new location. Now it offers a variety of activities- gokart racing (2 story track), arcade games (a brief stretch/hall of games), mini golf, + bowling. PROS: ●ATMOSPHERE 5/5- environment nice + gorgeous compared to old location. They have abundant area for seating, including nice couches to watch the track from behind glasses, and ample by general food (I feel you can't see much watching as a track spectator-which is kinda normal but its still cool.the lights+the two stories make it a fun for those go karting. ●Limited noise- my husband and I recently checked out the new Dave and Busters and it was a disappointment (far too noisy/worse than any casino ive been in), smaller than expected+seating was limited to the food area. Here was a step up for me on an atmosphere level. ●Outside patio 5/5-corn holes, plentiful seating (fire pit), ping pong table, bowling pin area. I would say I like this area the most/it is the saving grace. Id argue to say I like it better than the outside of the Eddy.. if they added like jenga towers etc, maybe huge connect four. There is another bar just inside from where you exit to patio. CONS: ●OVERAL PRICE 2/5: Expensive fast. Arcade has limited selection+ feel the price makes me prefer going elsewhere for what it is. ●GAME SELECTION/PRIZE AREA 2/5: Redemption area is just okay/ehh for me not worth it but remember the main attraction is the gokarts. I ended up getting my son a FAR TOO NOISY light up sound sword+ a screaming chicken (1800 tickets spent) Several games were out of order/oddly glitched- the 50 ball drop machine only let my husband drop x amount of balls ( Somehow there wasn't all 50 to drop and then for 26ish seconds nothing could be done... ●RACE COST: I believe each race cost $32 a person (14 lap), but because this was a company event, I cant speak what deals they offer for groups. 2 story is nice, but FOR ME, not $32 nice. I tried it out but don't think I'll be back for $32. Keep in mind compared to Coconut Bowl these go karts are high grade AND faster but 1/3rd of $100 for ONE RACE? If you are a gokart junkie, take a look but they are FAR stricter on the rules than prior location so dont be caught drifting bumping into each other, refusing to let others pass etc. Placing is based off top lap time. ●Mini Golf:(DID NOT TRY). Not sure if worth $12 for 9 holes. ●FOOD 3/5: Decently good mashed potatoes, breaded chicken topped with cheese, + balsamic with tomatoes was good. I'd AVOID the tritip (especially as a group cateering option). They did a decent job at keeping it stocked, warmth on food wasnt HORRIBLE- neither cold nor hot.. but the meat was a disappointment. 3/5 stars because Id think maybe NON large group events can be better. Tritip was tough+ chewy, flavorless (only tried like 1 piece). By the end of the night, I heard that no one had good things to say about the tritip,+ it was tearing people up (abdominal cramping, nausea, unpleasant gas?). I thought this was more of a laughing joking matter over it BUT I do think theres more to it as a good chunk of us started having experiences by the end of the night. Was typing this as I am experiencing stomach upset- cramping, and lower grade nausea from what I assume HAD TO BE the meat. As gen Zs would say.. the food we had was mid BUT the chicken was the saving grace. ●SUMMARY 3-3.5/5: In the end, come here at least once if you want to check out the karts- form your own verdict on the other amusement aspects. For people who truly love go carts/more of a drifting experience, I hear people Like Carson Raceway+ can actually drift if desired on circumstances. (Haven't gone). However if you have a big family itll be a pricey night. Looking for all over experience/fun- bowling, arcade, axe throwing, VR..etc.. check out GSR if you haven't -offers more options (-gokart) and what may be better bang for your buck for amusement. Coconut bowl is also continually high demand by the younger generations but the Jungle Karts are slower.

We had so much fun!!! My husband and I took two of our “kids” (ages 20 and 25) and we all had so much fun. This time we only did go carts and dinner but next time I’m sure we’ll be checking out the arcade and some of the other games. The min golf course looks fun and I definitely want to try duck bowling and “football bowling” soon. I want to also add that we were very impressed with the restaurant staff. Our server Aaron was very friendly and attentive. Our oldest son has Celiacs so I appreciated that he really paid attention to his order and his questions about what was safe for him to eat. And then, the kitchen manager Kiefer came out talked with him personally to make sure everything was safe and to his liking.

We had an incredible experience at Need 2 Speed! Our rafting trip was canceled due to weather, and with just one day’s notice, they stepped up and put together an amazing event for our group. From fast-paced kart racing to duck bowling and mini golf, everyone had a blast. The service was outstanding—the food was hot, ready when we were, and the setup made us feel like we were the only party there. The bar was fully stocked and handled our thirsty crew with ease. I can’t recommend them enough for team-building events, corporate parties, youth sports celebrations, or just a fun outing with friends. Need 2 Speed truly delivered and made our day unforgettable!
Paula L — Google review
We were a little burned out on Coconut Bowl and all the usual jump park birthday party options, so for our son’s 9th birthday we wanted something fresh. Need2Speed was the perfect change of pace! Since they’re brand new, we weren’t sure what to expect, but they handled everything like total pros. We went with the Duckpin Bowling package, and it was spot on. The party area is right next to the lanes and came stocked with pizza, drinks, and ice cream—so we didn’t have to stress about a thing. The Duckpin Bowling itself was a huge hit with the kids. The shorter lanes and easy-to-carry balls made it way less intimidating than regular bowling—no stinky shoe rentals, no hunting for the right size ball—and the kids picked it up quickly, which made them feel like champs. On top of that, the package included pre-loaded arcade cards. The arcade was awesome: all brand-new games, everything working (imagine that!), and plenty of options to keep everyone entertained. Our party attendant was fantastic—super attentive, had everything ready when we arrived, and took care of every detail. That meant I actually got to relax, enjoy watching my son have a blast, and even have a little fun myself. If you’re looking for a new, low-stress, and genuinely fun option for a kid’s birthday party, give these guys a shot!

Went just to race but come to find out there’s a lot more to do here…definitely an experience! Some of employees seemed unhappy. But our bartender Sara, sh made some of the best cocktails I’ve had in a while and her customer service is amazing. She was very knowledgeable when it came to questions about the amenities. Definitely will be back for the patio party she mentioned.

The Nevada Historical Society, established in 1904, is the state's oldest museum and offers a captivating journey through Nevada's rich history. The museum features permanent exhibits such as 'Living on the Land,' 'Neon Nights,' and 'Riches of the Earth,' showcasing human habitation in the Reno area over the past 10,000 years. Visitors can explore memorabilia and programs related to Nevada's history while also delving into a well-stocked book store and an impressive research library.
Cool museum with a lot of interesting things! The museum is in a large room as a curving path guides you around in chronological order of the Nevada and Reno area history. Something to see if you have an hour in the Reno Area!

Sign on door and online says they are open to public Wednesday thru Saturday 11 to 4. But guess what? THEY ARE NOT OPEN ON THESE DAYS OR HOURS except on Wednesdays nowadays, apparently. Sorry about that, they might have posted on the door to whomever may have ventured to learn a little Nevada history on a recent Saturday. What's the point of having a museum that says it's open to the public but isn't? Must be some tasty tidbits inside, I find myself thinking, as I compose this text outside the locked doors. Guess I'll head back to Circus Circus and squander a few more dollars on slot machines.

I'm an artist. I participate every year in early December one of the most entertaining and educational Art Shows called "History for the Holidays". This year the date is Saturday December 13, 2014. I so look forward to this exciting event all year long! I market Nevada stone pendants which I cut, shape, polish and wrap! Each one is unique. These are wrapped in Gold Fill, Copper, and Sterling wire that really shows off these gorgeous stones. I exhibit in many shows including the Reno Gem and Mineral Society shows. In addition, I teach Watercolor in Reno and have taught WC in Ireland. At this December show there is acapela singers that sing Christmas Carols. There is a delicious array of sweets and hot chocolate etc. It is always crowded and lasts from 11 to 4 PM. People look for my pendants each year. All the artists are professionals. See you there. This place is seriously cool, tons of minerals from around the world, and the Mackay family’s silver collection is a total highlight. It's free to check out, which is always a win. You'll find it right on the University of Nevada, Reno campus. Definitely worth a visit if you're into nature, history, or just cool stuff.

Amazing exhibit. I am not even that fascinated by rocks and found myself caught up in the informational displays. Make sure to to give yourself about 1 to 2 hours. It is found in the building behind the statue of John William MacKay. I say this because there's no indication of the exhibit from the outside it seems to be a library.

Really enjoyed this museum. Visitor parking was a little non-intuitive, but I followed the helpful instructions on the museum website and parked on the first floor of the University & 9th Street parking garage for the hourly parking. I wish the glass panes on the display cases were a bit less dusty to fully enjoy this beautiful collection. I took my time and learned a lot. Hours are a bit limited during the week. Perhaps best to visit on weekends. Great spot for geology nerds and possibly patient children who like shiny rocks. Ask your gamer kid to point to the rocks they may have mined in Minecraft or Runescape :)
Castane G — Google review
If you think you are the kind of person that might like a Mineral Mining & Engineering Museum, then you should go here. Everything a good museum should be with lots of physical artifacts rather than just placards. I especially liked the 3d model of the West End mine - something you need to see in person. Also a giant ingot of blister copper that you can touch and (try to) pick up. And a 10 foot tall giant topo map of Nevada (with place names frozen in time 100 years ago). You can't get this stuff from a book or Wikipedia article. It is also a beautiful space, and completely empty when I went.
Josh L — Google review
If you're into local Nevada geology and general history, and you have some spare time in your hands, this museum is definitely worth a visit. However, it's damned hard to find. You're best bet is to look for the statue at the end of the quad; the building you're looking for is directly behind the statue. The pictures included in this review show the building and the plaque on the outside of the building next to the front doors.

Oxbow Nature Study Area, situated on the Truckee River just a mile from downtown Reno, is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. This 22-acre conservation area is perfect for birdwatching and leisurely hikes, with its mature cottonwoods, Russian olive trees, willows, and dense brush piles creating a picturesque setting. Recognized as a national model for urban nature centers by the U.S.
Beautiful slice of paradise with kid friendly walking areas . Beautiful scenery and wildlife. There are bathrooms. Trail is easy. There are benches throughout the trail if you need to rest. Very Informational!

Entry level hiking and nature preserve. Not may trails but what you do see makes up for it. For one thing this place has a wonderful tree covered trail and looks like a tunnel of trees. Two things though. The Truckee river has often flooded this area so it's best to go two days after a flood unless you don't mind lots of mud and secondly sometimes this place attracts questionable people from the streets so it's best to go during the day with other people.
B-Rye A — Google review

A collection of short trails and intermittent and limited river access within brush and swamp terrain. Trails appear to be dry in deep summer and mucky in spring. At least one portion of a trail has an awkward log crossing over a creek. Not maintained very well and sometimes a little confining because of the brush.
Matt S — Google review
The Oxbow Nature Study Area is a great place for a short hike along the Truckee River. There are about 3/4 of a mile of trails in the area, a pond, some small wetlands, and views of the Truckee River. Best to visit in the spring when the landscape is vibrant.

Just a great spot to stroll through the woods and next to the fabulous Truckee River. Folks out working today and I was admiring a plant/bush and a nice pretty lady that was working, told me about the plant as well as the history. Yes watch out for street folks. As well as little critters in the woods. But so worth it!

Loved still having a drive ins! Screens are big and clear. The only downside was screen #4 had streetlights and lights right behind it and was super distracting. Maybe some black netting would help?. Other than that, loved the place

Flea market rating - Sunday morning in late June, probably 30 sellers and some food places. $1 per person. Mix of Mexican dollar store merch, used tools and house clean out debris for sale. Good vibes, not for folks looking for antiques etc
Christian S — Google review
this was a really fun way to watch a movie. The concessions were reasonably priced. The only thing that could improve would be somehow to manage the long slow line of cars that wraps around the block prior to opening.
Jeff M — Google review
I have only been there for movies. The other people that attend are polite and respectful for the other patrons. The snack bar and restroom are well maintained and clean. If I had one complaint it would be that there aren't really lines on the ground to denote designated parking places; which results in people just sorta parking wherever.
Blue C — Google review
Was so excited to come to a drive in. Haven’t been to one since I was little. Couldnt wait to watch the movie. Was told screen 3. Got there early and when the movie started the sound didn’t match the screen. Looked around and we were at the wrong screen. Had to move in the dark trying not to interfere with other people. Got moved and found we wasn’t the only ones. Ordered food on line and found out that you were out of nachos, hot dogs wasn’t ready and when we did get the hots dogs the bun was hard and cold. So we only ate the hot dog itself. The people in the concession stand all act like they are new and don’t know what they are doing. The last rite movie was way too dark and couldn’t see half the movie. Don’t know if that’s just the movie or shouldn’t be played at a drive in. I don’t think we will be back.

If you're looking for an exhilarating adventure in Reno, look no further than The Puzzle Room. Nestled in the heart of downtown, this escape room experience invites you to immerse yourself in a variety of themed rooms that transport you to different eras and settings. With options like the Egyptian-themed Valley of Kings, the mysterious Below Ground coal mine, and other intriguing scenarios such as The Asylum and Lost Cabin, there's something for everyone. The excitement doesn't stop there!
Our family of 4 did the blackbeard pirate room. Cassie was very helpful and the perfect game master. She let us know the details about what to do if we felt claustrophobic and made sure we were comfortable and well prepared. You can tell she enjoys her job and made our first experience in an escape room pleasant. The room was well set up and the details made us feel more immersed in the story. The space and layout with 3 rooms is great. We will be back to try another room!
Lauren W — Google review
Escape rooms are my favorite date night activity. I came for Valentine’s Day with my boyfriend, and we did Below Ground. The most positive part of the experience was the quality of the room, and our game master, Karina. She was so incredibly helpful and sweet. By far the best host I’ve ever had and I encourage anyone who visits to request her! Otherwise the quality of the rooms here are incredible! I have brought visiting family here since that experience to try more rooms!

Highly recommend the Egypt themed room - we had to ask for a couple of hints, but for the most part it was fairly straightforward about what you should do and where things went. We decided to do a second room and were given a discount for booking again same day, which was appreciated! However, I really do not recommend the Asylum room. PSA - they handcuff you before you go in, if this is something you are not comfortable with do NOT book it (we weren’t made aware until 2min before entering). This room’s atmosphere is nice, but in my opinion it needs some work. (Slight spoilers ahead, but not really) they give you way too many numbers, letters, etc with nowhere to put them at all, or in one case they give you 20ish different combinations that you have to brute force and waste a good 10min on. Additionally, there’s an item you have to retrieve that, if it isn’t positioned right, the game master has to come in and fix it for you, wasting additional time. A 39% success rate isn’t a flaw with the players IMO, it’s just a reflection of the room needing some reworking. The atmosphere of this one was really cool, so it’s a shame that it just made me more frustrated with the issues it has more so than being able to enjoy it. (One more thing, minor spoilers: you are supposed to be able to find a key for the handcuffs. We asked for hints multiple times after we allegedly were supposed to find the key, but we were never given any hint to let us know we should have already found the handcuff key. This made things a LOT harder to do, and we should have been made aware during one of the multiple times we asked for hints beyond that point.)

Super fun hangout! We did not order any food, but we did come to play at the 1/2 priced arcade games. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are all half priced! Pretty much every game is 2 credits to play and they have unlimited play options as well. Our 4 year old and 18 month old had a blast playing all the games. There are a couple of entrances. One to the restaurant, one that goes closer to the arcade without having to walk through the restaurant and one in the backyard, back area which are not open all time. *Picture with hours* There are 2 separate birthday rooms for private parties in the arcade area. South 40 Backyard area has so much! Corn hole, hand bowling, 3 billiards tables, ping-pong, kids area (which maybe needs a little updating) and a new bar set up! Happy hour is 4pm to 6pm, Monday through Thursday. This place has it all! I would recommend to all my family friends for a reasonably priced fun evening 😊

I was really surprised coming in here, I had a doctors appointment in the area and we used to go to a restaurant called the Zephyr that was in the same space we saw the south 40 and I said oh yeah let’s try that, we went inside and I was blown away, it was a beautiful new restaurant and while we were sitting in the booth, I looked over and I saw a virtual reality arena behind me, so talk to the waitress and she said oh yeah this is what we do here and you go back with the kids and you know and there’s a place for the parents and the kids to go eat you can eat back there or you know you can play arcade games you can do virtual reality in this arena, I was so intrigued. So after we ate a delicious sandwich and the best fries I’ve ever had, we took a little tour and the guy in the back helped us out a lot and I thought wow this is gonna be fun to bring my grandkids and my kids. You pay a certain amount you can pay for many hours, and I cannot wait to go back and play some games. The service was fantastic. The atmosphere was perfect so I can see us spending a few evenings here playing some games. Awesome place

This is my family's new favorite place to come. If you go in ½ game day, its amazing. The ticket games are extremely fair prices. We spend hours having tons of fun here. They have a great selection of prizes for the kids, too. I highly recommend South 40 over any of the other Arcade places around.
Steven M — Google review
I was there for a pre-event party. The place is huge with 3 separate dining areas plus lots of games. We were in an area called "The Backyard" with plenty of tables & chairs, a bar that took drink & food orders, a stage & big dance floor plus a few games & children's rides (think horse or car that used to be outside grocery stores). I had a Reuben sandwich with sweet potato fries & a mango beer. The food & beer were delicious!
Debbi F — Google review
1st visit and WOW, pretty cool place, like the lay out! Games were one side, sit and have lunch/dinner on the other, see the TV easily to catch up on my sports! This place has room for any size party! The food was spot on! Soup of the day, Chicken/rice was delicious! BLTA was Amazing with Onion rings (suggested by Brooke) hit the spot for lunch! Drinks were always full and Ice cold! I think the best part was chatting it up with Brooke! Sharing our life stories and future plans!! Excellent service!! We are truck drivers OTR, so we eat at alot of places all over the Streets of America.. coast to coast! You will not be disappointed here at the South 40, atmosphere, comfortable seating/spacing! Do yourself a favor and stop in, ask for Brooke and sit back and Enjoy!!

Perfect place for all ages, large areas for groups, fun arcade and outdoor activities. Hard to feel cramped here and they have some fun events! Food is above your average “fun center”, and the drinks are strong with a good variety available.

Playa Art Park in Reno is a must-visit for art enthusiasts. It features a captivating collection of sculptures from past Burning Man festivals, allowing visitors to interact with and explore the artwork. The park offers an immersive experience reminiscent of being at Burning Man itself. Additionally, Reno boasts numerous street art murals and custom paintings adorning traffic signal boxes throughout Midtown and Downtown, best seen on a pedicab tour with Travel Pineapple.
The painting are super awesome and the sculptures are WOW! I LIKE THIS LIL PLACE.

This is a pretty cool little park right down town Reno. It's an exhibit of Burning Man artwork. Suggest for all ages.

A cool spot that houses some smaller pieces from Burning Man. Always a good stop for a tour if you have someone coming to visit from out of town.

Awesome. I get where all the creativity comes from when people go to Burning Man. This feels a bit nostalgic for those kinds of enclaves. It's definitely a small but enjoyable park with interesting sculptures. Not many places to sit, and so more of a walking experience. Probably not very handicap accessible since the ground is all small stones.

Sparks Marina Park is a 77-acre lake retreat with sandy beaches, walking and biking paths, and plenty of trees. It offers various recreational activities such as windsurfing, sailing, swimming, scuba diving, fishing, and boating. The park also features volleyball courts, a dog park, playgrounds, picnic areas, and showers. Visitors can enjoy strolling along the paved path that encircles the lake or launch paddle boards or kayaks from the beaches.
Lovely place to take family walks. Pet friendly. Beautiful beach lake. Playgrounds. Veterans Memorial. Clean restrooms. The ice cream truck was here 3/2/25 so probably as weather gets warmer, more vendors. Easy walking/running path. Area to fish of the pier/deck. Highly recommend

Brought some family to this park to enjoy some lunch. They have never been here. It was unanimous - a bit windy, but the park was great. We walked around the marina and enjoyed the birds, squirrels, and parasailors. The memorial honoring our fallen heroes was spectacular. Highly recommended.

Very nice park close to shopping center so it's nice for a little stroll. The playground was updated and my kids love it here. The Veteran Memorial is really nice and a great way to pay tribute to those who serve, those who served and those that gsve their life for us.

Great place to walk. I used to walk it everyday. Then 11 yrs ago my husband and I moved out of town. I’m back. I moved back to Reno 6 months ago. This was my first trip back to the marina. It has changed a lot over the past yrs. But it’s only gotten better. I know I will be back for more walks.

Paddleboarded the park. Lots going on and lots of activities with fun people. Paddleboarding area has a few areas that go under the bridge to Venice like areas. Wish it was larger, but its a park that is in a very accessible location near Reno. Some small sand beaches. Nice park.

Nice running track, 2 miles around so easy to keep track. Sometimes the fountains are working and the bathroom are irregularly closed. It would be nice to have more access to fountains which is typically a regular problem with all parks in Reno/sparks.

The Waterpark at Wild Island, located in Sparks just east of Reno, offers a tropical oasis with a variety of water attractions including a tide pool, lazy river, and thrilling water slides. The park also features designated areas for young children to play and slide. On the dry side, visitors can enjoy pirate mini-golf, go-karts, laser mazes, bowling and more. Guests can purchase reasonably priced food and souvenir cups for discounted refills while enjoying free water refills throughout the day.
Our little guy has been measuring himself for months in anticipation of the park opening. He has been so excited. Unfortunately on one of the signs he looked like he was below 42 inches but at home he had measured 42 many times. I asked at the office if they could look and maybe give him a wrist band or something to verify he’d been checked. They were amazing and so gracious and did. We so appreciated it. He was so excited. We love wild island and really appreciate them taking that extra minute with us. Seriously made his month. Thank you guys.

I love this place everytime we come. It hard multiple things for the toddlers, children, teens, and adults. The lazy river was so relaxing and not a lot going on. The kids seem to have respect if they see an adult chillin. They also just made anew area for the babies like 1 to 5 or 7 and a little wave pool for them which I thought was great! There seems to be more chairs and stuff to sit. Not a lot of cover but definitely chairs. The only problem is the amount of money it is especially for a child that only wants to be in the lazy river and no rides but its ok I definitely would recommend this to hang out and chill for the day!
Keri C — Google review
Reasonable price and great fun for all ages. Lines were small and my kids ran up and down the stairs. Re-lining up for succeeding turns on the ride. You definitely get your money's worth here. Quality rides and equipment with plenty of staff to keep things orderly and safe.

So much fun! Going there tomorrow but I have been there many times. We always get the cabana and it is so worth it. There is a safe in the cabana and I put my phone in there and any other important things I brought to the park. The slides are so fun! The food does take a little bit but I understand the staff are trying. We get the early access and we get to go in at 10:45am so it gives us a boost to start going on rides. I found out the park added a soda shop which I am so excited for because I love flavored soda. Overall it gets a 5 star 100% recommend.

I recently had the pleasure of bringing my grandchildren to Wild Island, confident they would have a fantastic time—and the park did not disappoint. As always, the attractions were fun and engaging, making for a memorable day. What truly stood out, however, was the exceptional attitude and professionalism of the young staff members. In a time when teenagers often receive criticism for their work ethic or demeanor, the team at Wild Island defied those stereotypes. They were consistently friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout our visit. Their positive energy and commitment to providing great service significantly enhanced our experience. I look forward to returning and would wholeheartedly recommend Wild Island—not only for its attractions but for the outstanding staff who help make it such a welcoming and enjoyable destination.

Mini golf is pretty good. Our group made arrangements at a group rate. Somehow we didn’t make it onto the list that’s OK. It was only one dollar more. $11 each for 18 holes. The kids had a great time that’s what really mattered.!!! It was a little crowded at noon. We let people go in front of us we’re slow golfers lol.

This place is great for any kind of event you want to throw. They have jam on it, volleyball tournaments, soccer tournaments, pickle ball tournaments! I couldn't believe how big this place was when I was walking around. They also made a new track for track and field students in there which is hecka Kool! I love that they have a little kick it area too. You can just go sit if you don't wanna be in the games or whatever. Really nice place! And it's connected to the atlantis! Can't beat it!

Located on the 2nd floor of Silverado Casino. You gotta stop by here to get your coffee. I prefer to stay away from Starbucks if I can and this was worth it. Located inside the 2nd floor El Dorado Hotel. We visited on Sunday morning around 8-ish. It was very busy. I suspect it's like that regularly during the weekend mornings in the summer. I think it's a better option than Starbucks. The staff is friendly and very efficient. They hustle to get the morning crowd served and on their way. Some small tables are available for customers to use. Again, they may not be available during the busiest hours.

Great place for a change of taste from your average Peet’s, Starbucks etc... They offer lots of delicious pastries, cakes, pies, gelato and my personal favorite, doughnuts. Their regular coffee IMO taste better than Starbucks house blend and definitely better than Sips located next door at the Silver Legacy(check my review on them) My pictures don’t really show a full display case as it was taken at roughly 6:00am when they were still arranging the pastries.

RODEO!!! Growing up in the suburbs of Detroit, I had no idea what a rodeo was and what type of events are involved with the rodeo. After moving here in Jan 2022, all I heard about was the Reno Rodeo on the radio and TV. I had to see what this "rodeo" thing is all about. All I can say is WOW. This is my 4th year in a row attending this awesome and entertaining event. I am enamored with the spectacle of all the events but mostly in the athleticism and talent that these cowboys and girls need to have. Lets not forget how well these horses are trained to do their thing too. They are all literally amazing! From roping steers to barrel racing, riding bulls to wrestling steers, it is all amazing to watch, especially from a suburbanite! The entire Rodeo week has so much to offer the Reno area and we can be proud of such a fun and entertaining event. With something for everyone, there's the carnival rides for the kids, vendors to buy all your western gear and tack, beer tents, dancing and the list goes on. The Reno Rodeo Association does a bang up job wrangling all the members and volunteers to make this wonderful event roll each day like a smooth mechanism. I will be attending for year's to come.

The shop here is terrible and really lacks any sensible customer service. Ordered a womens jacket. They sent me a mens saying: "It's been crazy busy here." Then they said they could exchange it. My mom had to drive all the way up there to talk to the person. Then when my mom told the person that I didn't like the color (because they didn't have a photo of the actual product on the site) they tried to convince her to buy another jacket. Ended up returning it, said I'd get a refund, yet they kept the 15 dollars shipping which was absolutely unnecessary due to me being in Carson City and "priority shipping BS" only took a day. DO NOT SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY HERE!!! THEY WILL TAKE IT AND JUST MAKE EXCUSES. REALLY REALLY WISH I WOULD GET MY 15 FREAKING DOLLARS BACK. SCAMMERS.

Brüka Theatre is a non-profit performing arts organization in Reno that has been entertaining audiences for nearly 30 years. Unlike larger theaters focused on special effects, Brüka offers intimate and emotional experiences with classic and contemporary productions, musicals, and children's theater. The small venue provides comfortable seating, clean facilities, and a well-stocked bar. Audiences praise the talented actors and dancers who deliver strong performances with heartfelt musical numbers.
After several years of talking about going to see Buttcracker and missing opportunities because tickets and shows sell out fast we finally had the pleasure of joining Bruka Theater for Buttcracker 7: Osmosis - YAY!! For December 2016, Buttcracker 7 performance was a mashup of Wizard of Oz meets hillbillies for lack of better and let the side splitting laughter take over from start to finish lol. Purchasing tickets like the other reviewers shared was easy-peasy but be sure to not hesitate like we have in the past or you will miss out on a unique take on a classic holiday favorite, that will have you laughing hysterically and enjoying every moment of this wonderful theater troupe. Side note: I must share with you that I have gone to traditional Nutcracker ballet performances since I was a little girl and my husband & I continue with the tradition by trying to go every other year while enjoying the Reno Philharmonic - just a little bit of our history with the Nutcracker story. Continuing - we have been interested in changing things up a bit so had an idea of what was in store for us and this spin with hillbillies meets Wizard of Oz was wildly entertaining and kept us in stitches. We are sooo glad we spent the evening with Bruka Theater - it was a HOOT! THE costumes, makeup, set design, choreography and the storyline was everything we hoped it would be and then some. We look forward to seeing other performances here and of course another Buttcracker again! Thanks Bruka Theater again for a wonderful evening!

It’s in the people, regardless of the play the execution and performances are top notch leaving me to wonder and daydream, never-ever wishing things to be different. I don’t know if it’s my presence that’s easily recognizable, but they always know it’s me coming back and make me feel welcome.

Ladies, Gentlemen, and those who have yet to make up their minds! My sweetie and I went to see Kinky Boots, and we LOVED it! I will say that the actors/dancers are faaabulous. The voices are strong and true, and the musical numbers make you feel them in your heart. I didn't want it to end. The crowd is very eclectic and fun, there were young adults, lots of middle aged folks like us, and some older folks. It was a great mix. I really felt like I was part of the show, which is a wonderful advantage of a small theater. If you enjoy the movie version, you will LOVE the theater version (be aware that there are a few minor differences though). We are both disabled and the management was so accommodating. They made sure we were comfortable and had an escort at intermission to be able to access the restrooms as they are located downstairs for "ables". For us mobility challenged, we needed to go outside the side door (rolling through a puddle of pee that some dude so nicely left in front of that door) and down the sidewalk with our escort to get there. No big deal, but just be aware. They only seat 68 people, so get your tickets NOW! Don't wait and don't miss out.

Went to a play with a friend of mine. I had been once before and enjoyed it. The seating is comfortable, bathrooms are clean, bar is well stocked and reasonable. I do feel that their ticket prices are a little high, but that is just my opinion. I have always enjoyed little theater companies like this. Fun if you are looking for something different to do.

There's a neon sign in the shape of the Burning Man logo inside of the window.. Wonder what it means?? I attended a performance of The Dresser there last winter. The performance was excellent, the seating was comfortable couches arranged in a stadium seating arrangement, and the audience was friendly and social. The only disappointment was that I had to leave.. Already on my way back!!
Cameron S — Google review
I've been to two shows here. There was a person in the audience at each performance who insisted on verbally inserting herself into the performer's lines in a way that eas incredibly disturbing and disrespectful to the performers and the audience. What's worse, she seems to know the management, and they tolerate her obnoxious behavior (even though I spoke with the proprietor after it happened the first time and she seemed on the surface to understand my upset). After the second time, I won't be going back to a theater that makes it so clear that it's only concerned about a few annoying insiders.

This was a great theatre! They have comfortable seating and they have drinks and snacks available. The acoustics were great and the staff were helpful and friendly.

Comfortable atmosphere where you can watch some pretty quirkey plays. They also have a delicious bar and snack bar downstairs.

Water park
North Valleys Water Splash Park, located at North Valleys Regional Park, offers a unique aviation-themed water experience with over 20 different water features and more than 60 spray heads. The park is designed around military aircraft remodels and includes a Rare Bear model, reminiscent of Reno's Air Races. Open daily during the summer months, visitors can enjoy wet and wild entertainment for an affordable price.
This place is so cute. My toddler and my friends kids ranging from 1 to 12 all had fun. It's a good price for hours of fun and they have a little snack bar that you can take a break and have a snack or ice cream. I'll definitely frequent there this summer.
Shari L — Google review
This splash pad is super cute with the airplane theme, and we appreciated their efforts to provide at least SOME shade (many parks provide little to nothing). However, of all the splash pads we've been to, my 3-year old liked this one the least. There wasn't much for little ones to do and some of the features were just too much for him. The water pressure on the playset area was so strong, even a grown adult wouldn't want to stand directly under it. The big bucket dump also is just TOO MUCH water for a kid under 5 to handle and could actually knock them off their feet and be a danger. My kid is generally pretty brave, but this splash pad intimidated him and we went home early. We probably won't be back.
Jennifer M — Google review
The Splash Park is located within North Valleys Regional Park. The park has a LOT of open space as well as both covered and uncovered picnic areas. Splash Park gives kids a place to cool down and scream their hearts out. The rest of the park offers a skate board area, baseball and soccer fields and plenty of wide open spaces to allow little ones (and adults) to run off any excess energy. This is just a fabulous park in the North Valleys area.

My daughter had an awesome time here for her first splash park adventure! There’s a toddler slide noted for age 2-4 and she was OBSESSED. Reasonably priced for a day of fun or even a couple hours outside.

We like it. Some of the water features are not working or turned off. Must be a safety thing. It is nice for it has shade and areas you can lay on a beach towel. We came for a birthday party. There is a playground and there are restrooms. Plenty of parking g and I thi k its quiet affordable. We stayed for a couple of hours amd the kiddos were burnt out.

Great location, great staff (for the most part. There was one that had black covering around her eyes and the tip of her nose, cat?) my daughter loves going and playing on the big slide they have.

Coconut Bowl at Wild Island Adventure Park in Reno is a stylish bowling alley with 32 lanes and glow-bowling capability. It offers a decent food and drinks menu, making it a great attraction for the whole family. In addition to bowling, the park features black-lit mini-golf, laser tag, pool tables, and an arcade with various video games and prize-winning machines. The spacious venue also includes multiple bar areas and play areas for kids.
What a freaking blast!! We were in town and wanted to go do something fun with the kiddos... What a great deal!!! We went on a weekday and they do an unlimited pass for $33 a person. We spent almost 7 hours there and enjoyed every minute!! We did bowling (included shoe rental), both outdoor mini golf courses (probably some of the nicest ones we've been to), indoor glow mini golf, rode the XD movie thing at least 3-5 times (it's cool, kids loved it. Wear 3D glasses, sit in moving seat, and shoot at screen. Carnival one was creepy fun!), rode indoor go-karts numerous times, played laser tag, and 60 credits for arcade games. There was also a play area but never got to it. The kids are still raving about it a week later. We all loved it...even us 40-something year old adults. Very clean facility and bathrooms, it's HUGE inside. Wish we lived closer! Would definitely come again if in the area!
Nicole S — Google review
What a Super fun place! Clean, spacious, tons of entertainment options. The arcade is amazing with so many hard to find games. The go karts are electric and indoor which is unique. But, sadly, they control them for you when someone crashes and on our round spent more time paused waiting for corrections than rolling. It was a bit of a disappointment for the fee paid. Glow golf is awesome. Several challenging holes and a few easy ones, more than half of our party got at least 1 hole in one! The props were fun.

If you are a kid and wanted every fun thing to do in one place then look no further. This place has everything from go karts, mini golf, laser tag, bowling and so much more. Loaded with the state of the art arcade games and a playground to boot, ever one will find something they like. The food court offer a surprisingly large selection of food. Not just the run of the mill pizza and chicken tenders. Staff was friendly and helpful in arranging in arranging bowling lanes for our out of town soccer team. We will definitely come back to try more of the fun activities.

We went on a Thursday afternoon around 1 p.m It was our 1st time going here. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A young man went over all of their package deals. We went just to play putt putt golf and decided to play indoors. It was so much fun, a quick little course, but it was perfect 8 holes, I believe. Then we bought a game card to play a bunch of fun games. My don and I had a blast! All of the games were up and working perfectly. We decided to grab a bite to eat but nothing to big because we were having dinner later that evening. We ordered a patty melt with fries and shared it. It was so delicious and a perfect size to share. We were both full after eating it. We will definitely be back, we enjoyed ourselves so much. We would have 🎳 but we were on a tight schedule.

My daughter lives in Reno. We came down from Cali to celebrate her and my youngest son’s birthday. Sunday afternoon. Lots of fun. Something for everyone. I was surprised. Food was good for an entertainment spot. Fresh salads. Good choices. Not just fried food. Service was quick. They have a full bar and a half bar. The Mocktail menu was a nice addition for those of us who want a non-alcoholic beverage. We choose to do the indoor glow in the dark mini golf course. Line to pay took about 5 minutes. Guy was friendly and quick. The app to keep score didn’t work for us so we just played. There were smaller groups behind us so we stood aside to let them play n pass us. Lots of laughs and kids loved the atmosphere. We all got game cards and played for a couple hours the arcade games. I got stuck on the Wizard of Oz push coin machine. It drops cards of different scenes of the movie. You can exchange them for points to get prizes. I had so much fun. By the time we all finish up we had 100s of tickets. The birthday boy had a blast picking out prizes. Great selection. Lots of people in line but staff was patient and efficient. There were birthday parties going on. Lots of people with good vibes. We all are looking forward to visiting again.

This place suspose to be “kid and family friendly” well they miss treated my 7 year old and it well to be honest pissed me off, they let my kid drive the go karts there he got off went and did the miniature golf outside then before we left he wanted to ride the go karts again and they said no he couldn’t but yet he drove the go kart himself the first time the staff there make there own regulations as a person not as a company as a whole my kid was upset he said dad they let me drive the go karts the first time why aren’t they letting me this time made him mad we will not be back as the staff do not treat kids fairly and the staff have their own regulations independently my kid would rather play at chucky cheese from now on rather than be treated the way he was treated today we will not recommend people going here due to how the staff miss treats kids the people who wouldn’t let my kid ride the 2nd time and decided to kick us out I feel they did it cause my kid is of color being mixed this sucks to make a 7 year old feel discriminated against due to his skin color

It offers numerous individual picnic areas, non-reservable group spaces, hiking trails, paved bike paths, and access to the Truckee River for fishing. The park is wheelchair accessible and popular activities include bird watching, biking, hiking, picnicking, and river tubing.
Beautiful park on the Truckee River. Went by near sunset just to scout it out. Not very busy on a Sunday afternoon. Plenty of parking, quick walk a long the section of the park, walk down near the water. There are people picnicking, fishing and just generally enjoying the outdoors. Will definitely come back with out dogs

Very nice walk . Water was cold but still nice to dip your feet in . We also did a bike ride. They have this epic garden on the side before you get to the wooden bridge going towards sparks. It's called art downtown farm school. It was amazing . Then further down past the bridge they have a walking path where you can find a bunch of rams in someone's back yard as you go for a walk. It was very peaceful. We tried to fish but nothing lol

Mayberry is one of my favorite parks to go to. During the summer when our pool is closed, I bring my kids here for a picnic on the beach and they like to play in the shallow water by the rocks. People also love to come here with their dogs. There's a bridge you can walk over and watch the waves run underneath. Ive always wondered who lives in those expensive houses??

Beautiful riverside park with mountain views and vibrant fall color. I visited yesterday with my dog and loved the mix of easy walking paths and little hiking trails along the water. Lots of folks were fishing and a few were floating on rafts—very relaxed vibe and friendly people. Great spot to unwind, take photos, and enjoy the sound of running water. I’ll be back often with Foxy Brown my Schnoodle pup

One of the nicer parks in Reno. Kind of out of the way, which makes it mellow. Nice hiking trail. Borders the Truckee River in a calm area so you can splash around and cool off. Decent spot for fall colors.
Steve K — Google review
My second visit to Mayberry Park to try the fishing and just enjoy the great weather. The walking trail follows the Truckee River which was paved, flat, and easy to walk. Seem to be a lot of people using it, probably because it was a beautiful day. We didn't catch as many fish as the first time because of other people enjoying the park and river either with their dogs playing in the river and other people who launched a guided rafting experience. Like to try rafting with a guide to see the Truckee River and take in the great views!!

There's a park with trees and a grill area as well as a hiking path behind it. Bathroom available by the park area. Not much shade on the hike unless you're on the other side of the hill from the sun. Nice hike.

Great entry level hiking area with many vistas and a windbreak made of stone at the to of the hill. A definite must do for any hiker of any level. Also as far as hiking trails go, this place is well kept with plenty of rest stops along the way. Seems like one of the main trails goes to Hidden Valley as well. Just be careful in the hotter months since there are snakes in the area.

This spot’s got a nice little park with trees, a grill area, and even a hiking trail right behind it. There’s a bathroom nearby, which is always a plus. Just a heads-up, there’s not much shade on the trail unless you’re lucky enough to be on the shady side of the hill. Still, it’s a solid, relaxing hike if you’re up for a bit of sun. Great little getaway for some fresh air and outdoor time.

What's there not to like. It's not too far away from the city. There is a grassy park, with trees and a stream running through it. Nestled in the stunning landscapes surrounding Reno, Hunter Creek Falls is a hidden gem that promises both adventure and tranquility. This picturesque waterfall can be reached via a moderate 2.9-mile hike through lush valleys and enchanting woods, making it an ideal escape for nature lovers. As you trek along the single-track trail, prepare to encounter some rugged terrain and cross streams by balancing on logs—an exhilarating challenge that adds to the experience!
The beautiful falls makes it worth the hike. During the warmer months, it's perfect to cool off in. I thought I walked enough as I'm on my feet all day, but my legs were feeling it at the end. Make sure to bring water, and a walking stick helps a lot. Looking forward to see the falls in the winter when it semi freezes. At the beginning of the hike there are spots where you can see the creek. My husband and I found a perfect spot to have a picnic by the creek.
Stacy M — Google review
We tracked this to be closer to 7 miles in and out. Worth the hike, but not an easy hike. I would consider it moderate. The falls are gorgeous. Plan to be in direct sun for much of the time. Walking sticks could be useful, you do have to cross a few streams balancing on logs. We saw a strange area with healthy trees snapped in half. Too high to be human, seems unlikely to be wind. Saquatch?? See the image where my hubby is standing beside one of the broken trees. Pretty wild! We packed lunch and ate at the falls. Great way to spend the morning!
Kristin H — Google review
Very nice waterfall at the end of the Hunter Creek trial through the valleys and woods. A cool and refreshing spot to relax and reap the rewards of the 2.9 miles single-track and sometimes rugged hike. This year, water is raging through the fall due to an extra snowy winter. A very different sight and a much more intense experience than the usual serene and calm setting. Enjoy the breezy and misty fun while it lasts!
Douglas H — Google review
Nice easy gradual-slope, well-maintained trail to the waterfall, or goes up a scenic, rocky, steep-walled canyon. Interesting change in plants on the way up and back. 6 mile round trip, up to 6040ft elevation.
Conrad R — Google review
Most of the 3 mile hike up is in the sun. So starting early in the day before the heat gets in helps out. The path is also really narrow at times, making passing others that are going the opposite way a little challenging at times.

A short walk to reach the water fall, beautiful place, worth the 20-30 minutes. You can then walk other trails for a more complete experience. Bring water.

It was fun for the family. We purchased a groupon and we have a large group so we need to use few groupon for it. But the guy at the cashier said we can only use once for the same group. How is that possible for a larger group. Bad services. But the ride was fun for the kids. The people work at the ride areas was great.

Came to ride the giant swing around 5 and the worker told us we couldn’t use our groupon from 1-8 on a Saturday. The worker told us to come after 8 and that the swing didn’t close until 10. We went back home and ate dinner, then came back to ride the swing at 8:20. Swing was closed and the worker said the swing closed at 7 when she told us 10 earlier in the day. She was very poor at communicating the correct times and wouldn’t make eye contact. Very disappointed and it ruined my day.

Might want to hire someone that can figure it out. Made complaint to Groupon of this come on coupon. Won’t be going back there. My 4 grandchildren is their loss.

Nestled in the vibrant Brewery District of Reno, Ferino Distillery is a must-visit for those seeking exceptional spirits crafted right in Nevada's high desert. Originally founded as Canella Spirits in San Francisco, the distillery relocated to its hometown of Reno in 2018. Here, visitors can explore not only the art of spirit production but also enjoy a full bar program and an engaging art gallery.
I was there this past weekend for their tour and tasting and I highly recommend! Our group of 4 arrived earlier than the start time so we tried some of their drinks. I didn’t catch the bartenders name at first but based off the other reviews her name is Marin and she made the best espresso martini 🤩 everyone here is really friendly and knowledgeable and they make sure you’re having a great time. Joe was really funny and interacted with everyone and we also met his dad. Very nice father son duo. I really liked the Caffe Notte, which I believe is what is used in their espresso martini. It is also good by itself. This was a great start to our evening so thank you!

Joe is a wonderful wealth of knowledge. Marin is an amazing bartender. Loved the corals so much, bought 3 bottles. This is a must stop when in Reno.

Awesome staff - Awesome distillery. Do yourself a favor and do the tour of Ferino. You won't be disappointed! You're able to sample all of Ferino's creations and get the background on each of them. Joe Cinnamon's jokes are top shelf! Daniel behind the bar is an ace cocktail artist. Marin will recommend the best cocktails and is equally awesome. The staff here will make sure you have a fantastic experience. Highly recommended. Will be back the next time I'm town. 5 stars, no less. #KeepRenoFeral

My Husband and I visited Ferino Distillery recently during a short trip to Reno and we are so happy we did! During our visit we met Joe Canella aka Mr. Cinnamon who is the creator of this establishment along with his business partner. We were fortunate to be given a tour and experience a tasting by Mr. Cinnamon himself and we were not disappointed! Joe is very passionate about his creations it is obvious throughout the Ferino tasting experience. During our visit we tasted 5 different liquors made at Ferino of which we walked away with 4 bottles plus 2 bottles of Ferinos homemade bitters which are amazing! I regret not grabbing more. Of the different alcohols we tried I was torn between the bourbon and the Cinnamon. Joe made me an old fashioned using the 2 together that gave me the best of both worlds. It's one of my new favorite drinks. We had such a great time and cannot wait to return for another visit. Thank you Ferino Distillery for a great experience. We'll be seeing you again. I really love this distillery/place to learn about various alcohol that is made here!! Joe the owner is so personable and loves sharing his knowledge. He holds classes so folks can get hands on practice making yummy cocktails!! And bonus there a bar to order yummy cocktails!! Today I ordered The Heliotrope. So beautiful and really tasty!! A cocktail to be savored. I highly recommend this place!!

I recently attended a class at Ferino, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by both the staff, setting the tone for a friendly and collaborative atmosphere. The instructor was not only knowledgeable but also had a knack for making complex concepts easy to understand. I left the class feeling like I had truly learned a lot, thanks to their clear explanations and engaging teaching style. It felt like more than just a class; it felt like a community of learners coming together to grow and learn. Overall, I highly recommend Ferino for anyone looking to expand their knowledge in a supportive and welcoming environment. I can't wait to attend another class soon!

I loved my visit to Ferino's! My partner and I are always looking for a fun new place and we found a great place here. The drinks are not your average list of cocktails but instead new and reimagined takes on the classics. I will defiantly be going back and getting myself some more fernet and coke! This staff was amazing and Joe, the owner, is very kind and cares a lot about his distillery and also his customers.

Had a small group of friends for my wifes birthday to take the Gin school. One of the best experience we have ever booked in Reno. We learned about gin Had a few gin drinks and then we were able to create our own Gin flavor and have a bottle to take home. All in all worth every penny. An everyone thinking its expensive the cost includes about 6 cocktails (if you wait for you gin to be stilled) and a bottle of your own flavor gin that you create. The staff is great. The bartenders are amazing. A definit must do when in Reno

Artown is a citywide arts festival that takes place in downtown Reno throughout the month of July. The festival celebrates various art forms including visual arts, music, dance, theater, film, and literature through nearly 500 events. These events range from concerts and theatrical performances to art shows and children's programs.

The Midtown District of Reno is a thriving community with art studios, cafes, shops and restaurants. It has recently been featured in several national publications as an example of urban resurgence.
Compared to cities of similar size, I’ve always found midtown to be clean, safe, and lively. I’ve never felt uncomfortable walking around by myself as a small female, and there is always a solid crowd of friendly folk every day of the week. Great bar scene, and tons of food options. I loved stays at MidTown Manor for a week and toodling around the city with my fiancé.

Reno is definitely making improvements to this area, and it has amazing potential. And the businesses that are currently in the area are all great. Friendly, good people working in them, always quick to go out of their way and give top-notch service. I have nothing but good to say about every aspect of the experience... except... The current road construction happening is a big pain in the keister. If you can put that aside, you are in for an experience that will at least plant a smile on your face. Because the people of Midtown region are amazing, and worthy of praise. I highly recommend stopping by for a few beers... do a crawl... but stop by, say "hey" and see where the evening takes you. You should find yourself lost in an atmosphere that will sweep you away.

The Peppermill Resort Spa Casino in Reno, NV offers a Tuscan-inspired experience with luxurious accommodations and diverse dining options. The resort is conveniently located near the city's convention center and features 1,600 hotel rooms. It has received several accolades, including the AAA-Four Diamond Award and the Expedia Elite top-ranked hotel in North America. Guests can indulge in a variety of culinary delights at Cafe Milano, Biscottis, and Oceano.
I had the best stay at the Peppermill. We were originally assigned to a different room that we didn’t like, so we asked the front desk if we could switch to a room with a view. They were very accommodating and reassigned us right away. The hotel is very clean and has a great selection of restaurants to try. The pool area is so nice and clean too. I will definitely be coming back!

Normally go to Las Vegas. Great experience for a resort that has to stand on its own vs Vegas where you have so many choices of shows, restaurants, etc outside of wherever you stay. Staff was very friendly. Rooms not high tech but modern, clean, no surprises like chipped furniture or broken bathroom tile, etc. Large casino with up to date slots and older slots too. Table games there inc roulette with 0 and double 0, no stupid triple 0. Didn't try the higher end restaurants but the food at Biscottis and staff were excellent. Pool is heated but not over heated. Very comfortable. Free garage parking. Really nice terrace lounge. Modern video screens everywhere with great scenery on them that wss very enjoyable to watch. Good size sportsbook area. Not luxurious like the Wynn, Bellagio, Cosmo but very nice. Unfortunately Reno itself was not a place to visit itself. Homeless everywhere, run down, not safe. Stay at the Peppermill or travel to areas outside of it like Lake Tahoe, Virginia City, etc.

The rooms are clean. Connor, behind the check in desk was awesome. Very helpful. You're not really greeted as you walk in or walk up to the concierge desk unless you're a high roller. They have very few spots for disability parking. The prices of food was outrageous. We spent $40 on 2 coffees and a breakfast sandwich. That being said, the espresso was fantastic. I guess gone are the days of adorable food to keep people from wanting to leave the resort. We were on a non smoking floor in a non smoking room and it still reeked of cigarettes. As an asthmatic, it was bothersome. We still enjoyed our stay. The beds and pillows are really comfy.

My first stay at the Peppermill was a really pleasant experience. I actually got upgraded because the room I originally booked wasn’t available — total Jerry Seinfeld moment (if you know, you know). The room itself was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The king bed was great, and the pillows had just the right amount of support. But the real highlight was the bathroom, especially the steam shower, which was amazing after a long day. Overall, I’d definitely recommend staying here if you’re in Reno. Great rooms, nice amenities, and a solid experience all around.

My parents were here to obtain a free 10 day cruise and they also had a free 3 day stay. I was here to do ski tuning and check out the moment factory. Rooms were clean and updated. Shower water was hot. Wish the pressure was a little bit more. The toilet, you must hold down to flush completely. Loved the outside mountain view. The hot tub spas were really hot and the jets worked. Two of the pools were opened. The waterfall feature for the pool worked. Pool towels found at the entrance of the pool door. The pool area never got crowded. I loved the updated features of the hotel room. The room was not soundproof. The next door room had their TV on until 3AM and we could hear all the people in the hall wandering by. Elevators were fast. Tons of food options inside as well.

Super friendly staff. Affordable. So many places to eat and drink. The only downfall for me was that I wish it was a little cleaner. Bathroom shower could of used a good scrub. And the coffee pod was still in the machine when I went to use it. Also our floors ice machine was broken. And no microwaves in the room. We will be staying here in the future for sure!

It's a casino....with all the smoking, characters, wait for the elevators, etc. The room I couldn't complain about at all. It was cleaner than some chains that I stay in. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was 10 or so minutes from the airport and there was a hotel shuttle than ran mostly consistently on the half hour. I was here for an event, as such I did not choose this location for any specific reason. The event staff was helpful, rooms were adequate depending on the group size, and overall environment was a bit noisy (it's a casino after all!). The restaurants were surprisingly good - food options were excellent and staff great. It's not Vegas, but nobody was expecting it to be.
Greg M — Google review
I had read a number of reviews before my stay and was a little concerned what I was going to. Upon arrival, I used the fast check-in seamlessly and went to my room. This was clean and well presented. Throughout my 2 week stay my room was cleaned daily, always to a high standard. The elevators worked well my entire stay so if there had been issues, they were obviously fixed. The staff were very pleasant and helpful also, and overall, my stay was a pleasant one. The resort fees and various taxes added on to the room rate I find confusing. I would rather just know what the total room cost is up front and pay that. The overall nightly cost though was very reasonable. I only mention this in the hope that hotels like this become a bit more transparent with their charges.

I’ve stayed at the silver legacy, probably six times in the past. In the 90s and 2000s and it was an exciting, thriving casino and hotel. The casino was packed with people and the nightlife was lively. Now however, having just stayed there, it is a mere shadow of its former self. The hotel and rooms are dated and tired. Minimal staff to help a person out. However, there is a robot kiosk that you can check into your room with! The casino is probably 30 or 40% emptier than it used to be. Big gaps of carpeted real estate with no gaming. The tables and slot machines were sparsely attended. The entire experience was a sad site altogether. It bums me out because I had some really good times there and it is definitely on the decline. I don’t know why… Maybe online gambling? Maybe the price of things and inflation? Either way it’s sad.

We went to the Silver Lehacy to see the bands X and Los Lobos. The show was great. We did not stay there overnight. The hotel concier6 was very nice e and friendly. He told us where the show was inside the casino and where we could park our rv for the night for free. We would go there again for great entertainment.

This hotel exceeded expectations and was a good value for the price. Bed was comfortable but sofa was rock hard. Bathroom was roomy. Spa suite came with large jacuzzi. Coffee in rooms. Silver mining theme throughout
Anne J — Google review
Our room would not get below 73 degrees so we were hot and did not sleep well. The bathrooms are nice. Beds on the firm side if that is your preference. It is a long way from Valet to check in and the rooms. Just something to be cognizant of.
Kimberly H — Google review
We stayed at the Silver Legacy from November 4 to November 5, 2025, and booked a suite with a whirlpool. The room was dirty upon arrival — we found black hairs in both bathrooms and even a used Q-tip in the toilet area. We reported it to the front desk and were told housekeeping would take care of it, but nothing was cleaned even after two hours. After complaining again, we only received an apology and were told to move to another room. We had to pack our own things and move everything ourselves without any help from the staff, and even had to show our IDs again. No upgrade, no voucher, no assistance, no real apology. Very disappointing experience for a hotel of this level.

Atlantis Casino Resort Spa is a renowned casino and luxury hotel in Reno, originally built in 1972. The expansive casino floor covers over 60,000 square feet and offers various games such as poker, blackjack, roulette, and slot machines. The property's design is inspired by the lost city of Atlantis. Situated on the Strip in downtown Reno, it provides easy access to shopping, dining, and entertainment options.
I had my first stay at the Atlantis and LOVED it! The shuttle drivers were great and from the moment I walked in everything went smoothly. The receptions was welcoming, quick, and competent. I stayed in the concierge tower and was so impressed with the room and the view. I loved the pillow menu, and having the concierge lounge was such a treat. Service was fantastic especially Logan and Merwyn at the Sports Bar. The pool and hot tub were excellent. We had excellent meals at the Steakhouse, Sushi, and Bistro Napa with fantastic service. The location could be considered a plus or a minus. It is about 5 minutes to get to the airport, which is convenient, but if you are looking to get out and explore DT Reno (which I recommend), you would need to drive. Overall, we really loved our experience and I look forward to going back!
Maxwell M — Google review
The hotel left an excellent overall impression. Service from the hotel staff was outstanding. Rooms are spacious, clean, with updated interiors, and well-maintained housekeeping. The location is conveniently accessible. There are several parking options - valet parking was included as a complimentary service. However, it’s important to note that, as the hotel staff explained, the restaurants and many other facilities on the property have their management and responsibilities. The hotel staff cannot influence issues that arise there. 1. Purple Parrot — excellent service, tasty food, clean, cozy, and pleasant atmosphere. 2. Toucan Charlie’s Buffet & Grille — the food is good, but the service left a poor impression. If it’s your first time at the hotel and you don’t have an elite or other privileged status, be prepared to wait in line for 20 minutes or even more, even if you’re first in your row, because the cashiers will prioritize guests with status memberships. Summary: If your main goal is to stay at the hotel and play slot machines at the casino, you will have an excellent experience. For everything else, be prepared for mixed situations.

Stayed here for 3 nights in September 2025. Older casino but recently remodeled. Room was very nice. Staff were accommodating. Ate at the steakhouse one night and would rate it as "fine" but not spectacular. Used the pool and gym and found them both very nice. The area surrounding the property is a bit rough, not many options that are walkable.
Gabe K — Google review
Just loved it! While most casinos are starting to show their age, this one still feels fresh and modern. Rooms are newly remodeled, spacious, and filled with natural light. Elevators actually work smoothly (a rare casino bonus!). I was here for a convention, and moving material was hassle-free with the bell desk’s help. If you’re attending an event, the 3rd-floor rooms are perfect since most shows happen right below in the 2nd-floor D & E halls. Wi-Fi was reliable, and while the property offers plenty of dining options, Uber Eats lobby pickup worked just as well.
Aashish R — Google review
Our stay at this hotel was quite pleasant overall. We were accommodated in the newly renovated rooms, which were impressively spacious, spotless, and thoughtfully modernized. The refreshed design gave the rooms a sleek, contemporary feel that made our stay especially comfortable. The ground floor was lively and full of energy, featuring numerous tables and slot machines that contributed to the hotel’s vibrant atmosphere. Dining options were excellent — the sushi bar and the all‑you‑can‑eat buffet were particularly popular, often drawing lines out the door, which spoke to their quality. We also spent some time at one of the hotel’s lounges, where the drinks were both well crafted and satisfyingly strong. The hotel itself is a striking landmark, easily visible from miles away. Our only complaint was that the casino floor allows smoking, and unfortunately, the lingering cigarette smell clung to our clothes by the end of the evening. Overall, it was a clean, modern, and entertaining place to stay — a solid choice for those looking for both comfort and excitement in one destination.

The Sky Terrace Sushi bar was pretty good! Took the work crew out for our Friday company lunch. I appreciated the light emphasis on the unagi sauce and generous portions. The rice had good texture and chewiness. Not too dry or over soaked. Good taste overall. Some of the salmon was a little ‘pasty’ for lack of a better term. Not sure what was going on there.

The wife and I had spent 3 days here had a great time. Never really even had to leave the casino. There wasn't much choice far as shopping, but food gambling and amenities were abundant enjoyed the place. I believed that we will definitely come back here. I hope you enjoy And good luck.

I had a good experience staying at the Atlantis Hotel & Casino in Reno. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet, and the staff were friendly and professional throughout my stay. The casino area was enjoyable and well-maintained, and the Toucan Charlie’s Buffet had a nice selection of food and desserts. However, they didn’t have lobster or crab legs during my visit, which was a little disappointing. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. clean rooms, good service, and a comfortable atmosphere. Came here for a business trip a few times and it truly is an incredible hotel and casino. Lots of entertainment and the rooms are very comfy. Water pressure was sooo good and everything was very clean. Stayed on the 17th Floor of the SkyTower several different occasions and the housekeeper was wonderful! She always made sure I had everything I need. Sue was amazing! She should get a raise! I will most definitely be coming back every time I come to Reno.

Checking in was honestly the roughest part of our stay. We arrived around midnight on a Friday, and it took nearly two hours just to get through the line. From what I could tell, the front desk was very understaffed, so if you’re planning to arrive late, expect a wait. Parking is also a bit of a maze. I’d recommend figuring out where you want to park before starting the check-in process, otherwise it can get frustrating. That being said, there are definitely highlights. The kids’ gaming and midway area is fantastic, it’s probably one of the best features of the property and makes this a fun place for families. The casino itself is nothing extraordinary compared to other Reno or Vegas spots, but they do offer a solid variety of slot machines, which kept things entertaining. I was pleasantly surprised by the room. It was clean, much larger than expected, and the beds were extremely comfortable (perfect for a quick stay). The inside of the property has that classic Vegas feel, and there are plenty of food options at reasonable prices. The coffee shop in particular had a nice selection of breakfast and lunch items without the inflated resort pricing, which was a huge plus. The staff we interacted with in the restaurants were friendly and helpful, which made the dining experience enjoyable. Overall, Circus Circus has its pros and cons. The check-in process and parking situation could definitely use improvement, but the clean and spacious rooms, kid-friendly entertainment, and affordable dining options make it a good choice for families or anyone looking for a budget-friendly Vegas-style atmosphere in Reno.

This place is really run down. Trying to find a parking space.....then find the lobby ....or the elevators or the hotel registry.....its a pain in the butt because none of them are within close proximity to eachother. And depending where you parked in order to get to the lobby you have to wade through a smoky casino which isnt ideal if your pushing a stroller. The entire place just looks and feels dirty and uncared for. There was graffiti on the elevators and they looked like they probably haven't been cleaned in about 15 years. The room appeared clean enough but it still felt dingy and it was definitely out dated. The bathroom in our room was fairly large so that was cool. The little games and stuff for the kids was ok..... WAY TOO EXPENSIVE and it closed early (9pm I think) but alot of the attractions were not being attended by anyone, leaving us to wonder why exactly did we just load this stupid card with money to only be able to play games like the claw machine . And trying to find food that wasnt straight garbage or considered "fine dining" after 9pm was also a joke. I think i ended up paying 5 dollars for a bag of cheetos from one of the vending machines. All in all i highly doubt i would ever stay here again. Nor would i even just go there to gamble. It may have been a nice place to stay or gamble A LONG TIME AGO but that time has definitely passed.

Prices were a little better here than the elderodo but it really needs a update as everything looks dated. Not in a bad way but doesn't have the pizaz of the one on the Vegas strip. Lots of slots but it was fairly smokey so we didn't get to stay in the casino very long. They do have a massive arcade area that was really cool with loads of fun games to try out.

Part of The Row (with Silver Legacy & Eldorado) Circus Circus seems to be neglected in operations. As of October 2025, most of the escalators are either not working in one direction or totally shut down. The worst is the escalators from both parking garages to the hotel lobby area are boarded off, you must now make a trip toward the food court elevators to go down to the first level and walk back to the front desk. This is added to the monorail that hasn’t ran since the pandemic, hard for people to use the long way from both the west parking garage and the west side hotel rooms. The rooms are comfortable, the food court has four restaurants, but you’ll have to check the website for days of operation on each one. The only thing that was great was my room was complementary (except for the resort fee).

I visited Yogurt Beach in the Reno Circus Circus arcade area with my grandson on 11/8/2025. The cashier, Everardo, was amazing and demonstrated a mature and kind interaction with us that is normally only seen from an owner of a business. He made us feel like valued customers as he went above and beyond. We did report his excellence to the manager on duty, but someone needs to promote this young man, Everardo, to a high level management position so that his outstanding customer service skills are recognized.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐☆ Circus Circus Reno blends nostalgic charm with modern convenience to deliver an all-around fun stay. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and thoughtfully laid out—with blackout curtains, efficient layouts, and helpful amenities like mini fridges and quiet HVAC systems. One of the biggest draws is the midway and free circus acts. Even just walking through the arcade and carnival games feels like stepping into a classic carnival, and it’s especially great for families wanting something extra beyond just gambling. The location is solid, especially as part of the downtown “Row” complex (connected to Silver Legacy and Eldorado), so you get easy access to restaurants, nightlife, and entertainment without having to travel far. The check-in and customer service interactions tend to get praise from guests, which adds to the positive experience. No place is perfect—some guests mention that pillows can be uncomfortable or prices in the food/arcade areas are higher than they’d like. But for what you get—entertainment, location, and family-friendly fun—Circus Circus Reno is a strong pick

Nestled in the heart of Reno, Club Cal Neva is a charming throwback to the golden age of gaming and hospitality. This longstanding resort features cozy, informal accommodations that invite you to unwind after a day of fun. The casino offers classic gaming options, including vintage slot machines that evoke nostalgia for seasoned players. Dining here is laid-back, with casual eateries serving up comfort food that feels like home.
Yesterday I couldn't find the entrance to the restaurant. Today, a nice guy led me to use the lift to the restaurant, which is located on the 3rd floor. Although the decorations seem to be obsolete versions, I felt warm with the preservative service. The taste of food is perfect. The price is very reasonable and valuable for money. Here is worth to come again. Please forget what I felt yesterday.

Club Cal Nevada is a gem. It is old but the throwback theme is purposeful. Anyone from Reno adores the Neva the way it is and for good reason. Don't come here expecting dazzle and newness...come here expecting worn down and old and embrace it! Great prices and great atmosphere if you can embrace that that's the way it is left intentionally! Oh and BTW...thank you guys for letting our toddler use the garage or one of your parking garage walls as a chalk board to learn his ABC's after our meal in your restaurant (which mind you was great and the prices were even better!!) You're the best!!!

Disappointing Dining Experience at Cal-Neva in Reno We recently visited the Cal-Neva in Reno and were quite let down by the overall dining experience. The decor felt outdated, and unfortunately, the food didn’t fare much better. - My wife ordered the chicken and gravy, which she found unappealing. - My daughter, who usually loves French toast, barely touched hers. - I had the fish and chips—soggy and lacking flavor. - Even the fries my oldest daughter ordered were subpar. It’s rare for our whole family to walk away dissatisfied, but this meal missed the mark across the board. Sadly, we won’t be returning here to eat on our next trip to Reno.

If I could give this place 0 starts I would. First off the place is full of bed bugs. The machines are so tight don't plan on winning anything, the security team is aggressive and way overzealous. The food is mediocre and the cooks do not follow food safety. I have seen with my own eyes and witnessed with my own ears they don't care about food safety and will serve moldy bread, undercooked food, they never wash their hands, like to handle money then ready to eat food. The place is absolutely disgusting. Oh and if you wanna be around decent people, definitely not the place for you. I'll go to Diamonds before I ever step foot in this place again. Worst of the worst in Reno if you ask me.

The Cal-Neva Casino was, without question, the single worst casino experience I’ve ever had. While playing craps, I witnessed a complete breakdown of integrity, professionalism, and basic casino procedure. One dealer blatantly violated the rules by putting his bare hands on the dice mid-roll to call a no roll — something you will never see in a properly run casino. It wasn’t just sloppy, it was flat-out unacceptable, and it immediately destroyed any trust that the game was being run fairly. But it got worse. A dealer at the table refused to hand my wife the dice until he patronizingly asked if she “even knew how to play,” as though being a woman automatically makes her too ignorant to understand craps. The misogyny and condescension were disgusting and unprofessional, and it made the environment feel openly hostile. When I attempted to raise these concerns, the staff proved they have zero interest in accountability. The cashier brushed me off with no explanation and shoved me back toward the table boss — the very same person who had been sitting there silently while all of this unfolded. When I tried to speak with him, he immediately turned aggressive, cut me off every time I opened my mouth, refused to let me finish a single sentence, and ultimately told me I was wrong and to leave. This wasn’t customer service; it was intimidation. At Cal-Neva, the rules aren’t followed, women are treated like they don’t belong, and management actively shuts down anyone who dares to question their conduct. This place isn’t just unprofessional — it’s toxic. If you value fairness, respect, or even basic decency, avoid Cal-Neva at all costs. There are plenty of casinos that know how to run a table, treat guests with respect, and maintain integrity. Cal-Neva isn’t one of them.

Not bad at all. Liked the "non chain" vibe. The place seems nostalgic but fresh. Doesn't seem too smoky. The restaurant was reasonably priced and the food good. Will definitely visit Cal Neva again.

Huge portions of food. You will not go away hungry!!! The elevator takes awhile to arrive so you could take the stairs. Chorizo Breakfast was one of the best eat out breakfast which I rarely do. Bring your friend or party group. It’s easy on the wallet

Gambling was okay, decent choice of machines. Was really excited to play pool, however, half the tables were out of order. And the one we did attempt to play on wouldn't give us all the balls to play with. And getting an̈y staff member to help was like pulling teeth. All had the "it's not my job" attitude. $5 for a $1 game and And hour and a half later, we still haven't been helped..... guess customer service is not on their priority list. Off to the next casino! Don't bother coming here.
