Shopping
MyZeil is a large shopping mall in the heart of Frankfurt, known for its unique and contemporary architecture. Designed by Roman architect Massimiliano Fuksas, the mall's mostly transparent shell features a fluid shape inspired by a river, creating an undulating roof that allows natural light to illuminate all six levels. Opened in 2009, MyZeil boasts a gigantic curved glass-and-steel facade housing 77,000 square meters of retail space.
Really cool mall right in the heart of Frankfurt. Loved the design and the food court on the top floor. Great spot to shop, eat, or just hang out.

One of the most iconic shopping centers in Frankfurt, MyZeil stands out with its futuristic architecture and impressive glass façade. Inside, visitors can find a wide range of international and local brands, restaurants, and a panoramic escalator that adds to the unique experience. A must-visit for shopping lovers and architecture enthusiasts alike.

Very modern mall in the heart of Frankfurt , loved the location and the fact that it is connected to my hotel and the other shopping streets I enjoy in the city … fun shops, movie theater, restaurants and great architecture
Linda T — Google review
It gets extremely crowded on Saturdays, so I definitely do not recommend going then. Inside, there are no popular brands like H&M, Zara, or Mango. The restroom costs 50 cents but is large and clean. There are plenty of food options available, though.

MyZeil is an amazing shopping center right in the heart of Frankfurt. The architecture is modern and impressive, with a stunning glass facade and an incredible spiral escalator. There’s a great variety of shops, from international brands to local boutiques, as well as plenty of restaurants and cafés to take a break. Everything is clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate. It’s definitely one of the best places for shopping and spending time in the city!

Casual, clean and beautiful! There are also high, medium and low price options, the brand image is very good, a very good choice! The Frankfurt football team store is also here!

Those who love shopping, this is THE place in Frankfurt. There are a lot of shops, some of them branded ones. It is located in one of the most lively street Zeil. On the top floor there is a food court serving different cuisines. We came here twice and both times the atmosphere was very vibrant. Worth visiting...

Department store
Shopping
Shopping Malls
GALERIA Frankfurt an der Hauptwache is a bustling shopping destination situated in the heart of Frankfurt. This modern, multi-level department store offers a wide array of fashion, beauty products, and home goods. Recently renovated and expanded, it now boasts a more contemporary look with increased floor space for displaying its merchandise. The spacious layout makes for a comfortable shopping experience, while the food court provides various international and local cuisine options for a quick break.
This is easily one of the best department stores I have ever been to. It looks pretty normal from the outside, but once inside, it's amazing. It's clean, well organised and absolutely massive. There is practically any item you can think of, and something to suit all ages and budgets. The best part though, is the restaurant/coffee shop on the top floor. It has an outdoor terrace, which offers STUNNING views of Frankfurt. Not only that, but the coffee is really good; not the watered down rubbish that you get from chain coffee shops. Honestly, if I lived in Frankfurt (or nearby) I would only drink coffee here, and never go anywhere else again! As an added bonus, all of the staff were lovely 🙂. The ordering process at the restaurant is really good. Upon entry, you are given a physical card with a barcode on it. Whenever you want to order any food or drinks, you simply go to any of the ordering counters and choose what you want. The staff will then scan the card, and the running total will be added onto your tab. Once you're ready to pay, you go to the till and give the staff member the card, and then pay the total amount due. I thought this was a brilliant idea, as it allows you to purchase more items whenever you want, and pay in one go when you're ready to leave, rather than getting up multiple times and paying separately each time. If you're visiting Frankfurt, do not miss out on this fantastic department store! In fact, it's worth visiting Frankfurt just for this awesome shop!

Galeria Kaufhof became an institution over the years. Especially in the last few years there was a huge development in a very positive way. The selection of fine foods and rare specialties as well as a great selection of ready wrapped presents is really good.

Middle of the frankfurt very well build bulding you will love it for sure but has otopark problem if you use public transportation is better and that place is very expencive but outdide the mall you can find all kınd of stuff for way chraper
Lara T — Google review
This department store is incredibly large and stylish. I was shocked by how affordable the prices were. Even with the Saturday crowd, it didn't feel packed due to its immense size, allowing us to shop comfortably. It's fantastic that they have kasse on every floor. We didn't have to wait in line at any of them. The selection of brands is also excellent. Unlike other Galeria stores, this one features a wide array of premium and unique brands at very reasonable prices. Many items had an additional discount on top of the sale price. I was stunned to find that the prices were the same as or even better than popular outlet malls like Metzingen or Wertheim Village, but with a much larger selection. I would absolutely recommend visiting this store instead of an outlet mall.
Hasan S — Google review
Great place for Shopping wide range of perfumes clothing & luggages conveniently located outside the Train station and offers Tax refund processing after purchase..
Santosh N — Google review
The 7th floor of Galeria Kaufhof is the place to be, especially on sunny days. When the weather is nice, the atmosphere is elevated by a stunning view that overlooks the whole of Frankfurt. It’s the perfect spot to soak in the cityscape, relax with a coffee, or enjoy a leisurely stroll while taking in the panoramas. If you’re visiting and the skies are clear, make sure to check out this level for a memorable overlook of the city.

Located in the lively city of Frankfurt, Goethe House is the birthplace and childhood home of the renowned writer and politician Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Visitors can take a tour of this historical house featuring period interiors and exhibitions. The house offers a glimpse into Goethe's life, allowing guests to explore the rooms where he wrote his famous works. The collection includes original manuscripts, artwork, and personal belongings.
One of the must-visit tourist attractions in Frankfurt because it offers a deep insight into the life and times of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Visitors can explore the rooms where Germany’s most famous writer lived, see authentic furniture, and learn about his early inspirations. A great place for literature and history lovers.

Historic Site of Goethe's House where he was born and spent his young life. Multiple languages available for explanation on items displayed through an APP. I recommend you bring your headphone/bluetooth. Tickets are €12 per adult. They have a family rate. You need to be able to walk up and down stairs a lot. Enjoyed the visit as I do admire his life.

Combination of two museums under one roof: historic birthplace of Johann van Goethe and museum of German romanticism. Striking difference between meticulously restored residence of the poet with attention to details and period’s furniture and modern part of romanticism museum. If you are short on time, Goethe’s old house is a must and also first floor with paintings of the other museum.

Fascinating museum with great renovations! The house looks beautiful inside. They give you a map, which makes it super easy to explore each room. There’s also an upper museums with lots of interesting exhibits and interactive things to see. Definitely worth visiting! You can get a discount with the Frankfurt Card.

Visiting the Goethe House was such a great experience—it truly feels like stepping back in time to see how Goethe lived. Every corner of the house is filled with history: the kitchen displays old dishes you may have never even heard of, the games they played are still there, and the architecture and atmosphere are unforgettable. Even the smell carries a sense of the past. I wish homes like this were still being built today, but sadly times have changed. We only had a short layover in Frankfurt, and since it was on a quiet Sunday, visiting here was absolutely worth it.

Much more to this museum than we expected! Wonderful restored home with period furnishings and original artwork. Descriptions were in both German and English so we could understand and enjoy it fully. Don't miss this when you are in Frankfurt!

Nice place to visit in Frankfurt. The house is well kept and gives a glimpse of Goethe’s life. Not too big, easy to explore in about an hour. Worth a stop if you enjoy history and culture 🏠📚

Had a 12 hour layover and decided to visit this museum. It was money well spent and an afternoon of delight stepping into every room and space of Goethe history! I love the old grandfather clock that still works and the chime thrills through the house of Goethe, standby every half hour. We kept missing it. Piecing together the story of Joseph in one of the rooms was therapeutic esp for someone who doesn’t speak or read German. Thank God for google translator. The visit has a calming effect like as though I was brought back in time. The large glass frontage featuring the garden offered two perspectives. One from the front and the other from the inside looking out. After all isn’t the arts about perspective?? There’s a cool and ancient water fountain that I manage to refill my water bottle. It was refreshing to drink from the tap and the charge of 24€ for two person was well worth the ticket price. We got more than what we paid for. There was also a special corner where I could place a music score on a special device where I could listen to narration of the music composition by Robert Schumann and actually listened to the music being played. It was interactive and amazing. Love the modernity without compromising the beauty of historical arts and the subtlety of tech being used. Totally awesome!! For those with bags in tow rest assured there is proper storage for you to be hands free. Storage is free.

Kleinmarkthalle is a bustling market hall in Frankfurt, housing over 60 vendors offering a diverse range of groceries, flowers, wine, and prepared foods. It is located close to the famous Zeil shopping street and features 156 stalls open every day except Sunday. Visitors can explore an array of fresh produce including cheese, meat, vegetables, fruit, confectionery, bread, and pastries from the region.
This is a must visit in Frankfurt, It has dozens of independent market stalls offering almost anything food related you can think of. many vendors offer free samples of products so you can try before you buy. Me and my girlfriend brought dried fruits, pineapple and apple, to make this decision the vendor gave us samples of about 10 different products. we also tried several cheeses and meats. this place is even fun to go and browse. prices were reasonable. close to other near by attractions.

On a long layover in Frankfurt, our family stumbled upon a charming local market. It's very much a food-centric spot, with tempting street food everywhere – we just wished we weren't so full! We did find some authentic German honey and beautiful plants. It's a fantastic place to escape the heat, offering a cool indoor experience on a sunny day. My only regret was not finding a souvenir that could survive the journey home in warm weather.
Hisham A — Google review
An indoor market. A visual treat, a large selection of fruits and vegetables, butchers and spice and sweet stalls, food stalls including comfortable seating at the end of the market, a garden growing store full of vegetable and garden crop seeds, and really interesting animal raising tools.

Kleinmarkthalle is such a fun place to spend a lunch time or afternoon! There’s so many places to get delicious food and drinks and it has a really electric atmosphere! We visited on a weekend and the market was extended to stands outside, which were packed. It is definitely one to expect to be crowded but it was well worth the visit. I would recommend going for drinks so that you can walk around and pick up some deli ingredients for snacks 😋.

If you want to feel the heartbeat of Frankfurt, look no further than Kleinmarkthalle. This indoor market is a vibrant and bustling hub where locals and visitors mingle, offering a slice of authentic German daily life with an international twist. From the moment you walk through the entrance — a simple but welcoming sign urging you “Auf die Kleinmarkthalle!” — you know you’re in for a treat. The market is alive with the hum of conversations, the aroma of fresh produce, and the dazzling colors of fruits, vegetables, flowers, and baked goods. Inside, the variety is stunning. You’ll find gorgeous cakes and tarts, like the ones beautifully displayed here: crumbly Streuselkuchen, glossy strawberry tarts, and towering cheesecakes dusted with powdered sugar. Each looks homemade, hearty, and utterly irresistible — perfect for a midday treat or a sweet souvenir. Further down the lanes, stalls burst with fresh produce: juicy strawberries, brilliant red currants, exotic fruits, and an impressive display of white asparagus (Spargel), a true German spring delicacy. Fresh mushrooms and artisan products add to the rich variety, and everything is beautifully laid out, making it a pleasure just to browse. The layout of the hall is practical yet charming. Upstairs, there’s a mezzanine where you can get a bird’s-eye view of the market’s bustle below — a sea of stalls and colorful canopies. Small eateries and cafés are scattered around, perfect for taking a break and sampling the local flavors. One charming find is Mathilda, a stand advertising homemade brownies and tarts, with a playful chalkboard encouraging you to “Eat cake!” — sound advice when surrounded by such delicious temptation. Navigating the market is easy, with wide aisles and a relaxed vibe that invites slow wandering. Despite its central location, Kleinmarkthalle retains a sense of local authenticity — it’s not just a tourist attraction but a beloved part of Frankfurt life.
Clifton P — Google review
We came to look around and enjoy the overall atmosphere of the market place. Lots of different stalls to try and plenty of places to sit and enjoy food and drinks. It was busy when we visited but not too crowded (weekday, afternoon).

Frankfurt Cathedral, also known as Kaiserdom, is a stunning Gothic-style Catholic cathedral that boasts Renaissance frescoes and offers panoramic city views from its tower. It was once the tallest building in the city until skyscrapers like the Main Tower and Commerzbank Tower surpassed it. Dedicated to St. Bartholomew, this Roman Catholic church played a significant role in the Holy Roman Empire's elections and coronations.
I'm not really into cathedrals or churches, but this one was really beautiful. The Gothic style really matched my style. Really nice work with rebuilding it after World War II. Even with many people you didn't have to wait to go inside. Definitely recommend that one.
Ola K — Google review
Beautiful cathedral. Really enjoyed the experience. I went to the top of the tower, the staircase is really narrow steep and long so be prepared for a bit of a hike but once you are at the top it's a full 360° view of the city. The price was quite reasonable I believe it was €5 per person but I could be mistaken. 10/10 if in Frankfurt this is a great place to go. There's also lots of historical buildings in the vicinity including places to eat or grab coffee. Great place to spend an afternoon.

recently visited Frankfurt’s main square and it was an unforgettable experience. The beautiful historic buildings create such a charming atmosphere, taking you back in time with their unique architecture. What truly amazed me was the sound of the church bells – so powerful and mesmerizing that it filled the whole square with a magical feeling. I even recorded a video to capture the moment, but being there in person was beyond compare. A must-visit spot in Frankfurt, full of history, beauty, and soul.

The Frankfurt Cathedral is stunning — full of history and beautiful architecture. Climbing the tower is totally worth it for the amazing city views! Inside, it’s peaceful and impressive, with lots of detail to admire. A must-visit if you’re exploring the old town!

Beautiful and awe-inspiring cathedral in Frankfurt. Majestic structure which has peculiar aesthetic finish, especially inside it. What strikes a visitor first is the marvellous collection of statues and paintings. It is not very spectacular when viewed from a distance but when you are inside you are wonder-struck at the great assemblage of rare statues and paintings. The tall columns and arches all add to the grandeur of the cathedral. The picture of St Bartholomew being flayed alive gives a shudder to you.

Restaurant
Heimat is a stylish restaurant located in Frankfurt, housed in a modern building that used to be a petrol station. The menu features contemporary European meat and fish dishes made from fresh ingredients, with a great selection of wines. With two Michelin stars, the restaurant offers attentive service and a seasonal menu in a very personal and cozy atmosphere. The open kitchen allows diners to witness the care and attention put into each dish by Chef Gregor Nowak.
I would say that this is one of my favorite places in Frankfurt so far. It is always great to meet here with friends or even have a date😊 the food is delicious, and the menu is constantly changing, which is good if you go there often like I do now. The wine list is impressive, and the sommelier is super nice and friendly . The only disadvantage is that it’s quite small(for me it is also the advantage), and you better book it in advance to be seated.
Tati Z — Google review
Fantastic little restaurant with intriguing choices and great wine. The sommelier was extra helpful and pulled some unique wines not on the “glass” list for me to drink with my courses. A very enjoyable dinner. Very professional service.

This restaurant is the gift that keeps on giving... my 'must visit' anytime I am in Frankfurt. Oliver (somm legend) and the team are just so welcoming and knowledgeable about their menu and incredible range of wines by the glass. The food is precise and adventurous and amazing what they create in such a tiny space. Ask for a counter seat if you are dining alone. Thank you again and see you very soon!

We arrived into Frankfurt on a late night flight arrival after a holiday week in UK and Switzerland, and looking for supper following our arrival into the city. We found Heimat after searching online for German wines and late night dining, but we were informed that the restaurant's kitchen was already closed when we arrived at Heimat just past 10.00pm although the Google listing mentioned their 1.00am closing. However Haimat kindly offered us a mixed platter of sliced meats, cheeses, and spreads despite their kitchen having closed. More importantly, their excellent wine pairing was mind blowing. Heimat far exceeded our dining experiences during our European trips. We each tried 3 different wines by the glass and a full meat, cheese and bread platter. Their service was reserved but still friendly, more actions and fewer words which was refreshing after our holidays. We tried wine bars in London, Thun and Vevey but this Frankfurt establishment came out tops. Perhaps its personal preferences, but Heimat is the best place for regional wines and Frankfurt hospitality. The bosses and their staff were very welcoming despite the late timing on a Monday night. We were looking for good German wine offerings and we were well rewarded by Heimat's selection. If you visit or are based in Frankfurt, do visit Heimat for excellent wines and hospitality.
Justin T — Google review
Small restaurant but that is the beauty of it. Very intimate, sat by the food counter. Amazing choices of white and red wine. And menu is simple no fuzz. The starter with the salad with goat cheese was by far my favourite. And the broccoli main dish was excellent. Definitely a place to visit when in Frankfurt.

Really good place for a nice dinner. To make a reservation was very easy and I would give an extra star to the gentleman on the phone, who stayed very friendly and calm after I switched the reservation time twice :) The food & wine were great as well as the atmosphere - we had a table inside, as outside it can be a little bit noisy (see location on google maps). The prices are not cheap, but it was every euro worth. We will definitely come back again!

Medici is a fine dining restaurant located in the heart of Frankfurt, offering contemporary European cuisine with influences from around the world. The restaurant prides itself on using high-quality local ingredients to create innovative dishes. One of its must-try dishes is the Black Angus rump steak with port wine sauce. Situated between bustling shopping areas and close to the exhibition center, Medici is a popular choice for tourists seeking an elegant dining experience.
Had a wonderful experience! The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff were warm and welcoming. We were pleasantly surprised with a complimentary appetizer, which was a lovely touch. Their wine selection is impressive and perfectly complements the menu. Highly recommended!

The soup was very nice—I highly recommend it. The Flammkuchen was also a standout; it had a clean, balanced flavor that wasn't too rich or too light. For the main course, I had one of their signature dishes, the beef fillet. Cooked perfectly at medium rare, the meat was incredibly soft and tender. The sauce was excellent, and the side dishes—the potato and the salad—were both very good.

We celebrated my husband’s birthday at restaurant Medici. Due to the warm weather we opted to sit outside. The terrace is large and has plenty of sunshades to protect against sun and rain. The recommended dress code was smart casual, and most -but not all- guests adhered to it. The food was wonderful, the Medici Riesling wine was delicious, and the service level of the waiters was impeccable. I would definitely come back to this fine dining restaurant.
Kim O — Google review
This experience made me sad. Great ambiance, but overall a disappointment. I was excited to come here to try the risotto, but unfortunately it was the saltiest risotto I've ever had - it was terrible. I couldn't even finish half of it and told the waiter, but he didn't say anything in response. My favorite dish was the carpaccio starter, but it was also too salty. They have a good wine list and the food prices are very reasonable, which is the only saving grace. My partner got the rabbit and said the vegetables were the best part. I would not recommend this place.
Krystine L — Google review
They squeezed me in for dinner despite being fully booked. Lucky me! Sat outdoors and people watched. Had their salad and burrata from the starters menu. Both outstanding! The fish in the salad was perfectly cooked and flaky. The burrata was a medley of flavors and textures. Heads up: I think they are closed Saturday and Sunday.

Fish restaurant
The restaurant Fisch Franke in Frankfurt am Main specialises in fresh seafood dishes and fish with a classic green sauce. The décor is more modest, but the kitchen's offerings are well worth a visit - classics like grilled salmon filet with green sauce or fried pollock with spinach and cheese sauce are on the menu.
There are two sides of this equation. A fancy dine in area and the cafeteria style counter order area. Same kitchen. I tried both. Both were good. I quite enjoy the dine in service. Friendly staffs and good food.

Great place for a break during downtown exploration. I love that they have a self serve area as well as a proper sit down restaurant. Kids menu fish was good, but was expecting something more for almost 15 euros… maybe stick to the regular menu or the specials. All in all recommend!
Mark F — Google review
One of the best places in Frankfurt am Main to try different types of fish. This restaurant is so popular that you may wait for a table a bit in case you have not reserved it. What is also great there is second entrance where you find prepared salads and sandwiches to take away. What makes this place special - fast service, amazing atmosphere and high quality and tasty food. I can also recommend to try local wein Riesling. Hope you will enjoy you visit.

People told me that fish sandwiches is one of the famous local food in Germany. So I decided to give it a try at lunchtime. This restaurant divided into two sections- one is more casual fast food style dining area where you can order takeout or pay & dine in the designated area; the other section is little more formal serving by servers. Nevertheless, this place is where you can find a wide range of fresh fishes and seafood!!

Seafood We had delicious seafood (cod and flounder) for lunch at Fisch Ffranke served with a classic Frankfurter Grüne Soße (green sauce made with sour cream, chopped boiled eggs and herbs). The menu was extensive (there was something for everyone) and we loved the strandkorb (beach baskets) in the restaurant which gave it a very beachy feel. The service was very attentive and the prices quite reasonable!

Incredibly friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere. We did not have reservations for lunch but we were seated without issue. The menu is immense but options are listed in both German and English. The fish and chips were very good and the mussels were a monthly special. Will definitely return to sample some of the other options.

Nestled in the heart of Frankfurt, Bull & Bear Restaurant & Sportsbar is a vibrant spot that perfectly blends the charm of a bistro with the excitement of a sports bar. With its spacious layout adorned with an impressive collection of sports memorabilia, it’s an ideal place to catch live soccer matches while enjoying classic pub fare. The menu caters to all tastes, featuring mouthwatering burgers, pizzas, and fresh salads.
We had a great time here, Esma and Marianna were both outstanding and helped us pick out some great food despite us not speaking any German. I had the Frankfurter Green Sauce (heard it was a staple for Frankfurt), and enjoyed it - very fresh.

A lovely place with a lovely staff! Friendly & kind while they are serving some delicious cocktails! Great menu & with a variety of options as well!
Vera C — Google review
We came with a large group, 20+ people for Happy Hour. They got great deals for Happy Hour, but most of the cocktails on the menu are very sweet and not very strong. I would stick to basic mixed drinks. The staff was very skilled and welcoming towards our group and clearly knew to handle large crowds.

This is one of the better options in the city centre ( Zeil ) to sit down and grab something to eat or drink. The food variety and quality, as well as the service is good. The prices are on a normal level. If the weather allows it sit outside.
Nikolaos E — Google review
The tall blond waiter was unfriendly and disrespectful towards us. We were 10+ people and were told we can’t pay separately. We later asked other workers about this, as she lied to us and told us this was a policy. Other than that everything was amazing and all the other waiters were extremely helpful.

We went to their underground space and the atmosphere is great. (It was too cold out there) I ordered their signature burger and it taste good (I won’t say it’s perfect) please note that there is some level of spicy on the green chilli on the patty. Nacho chicken is good. And 3 of my friends appreciate their spaghetti too. 👍🏻 Will definitely visit again next year when we are here!

Day 2

West side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the west side side of town. Start the day off with Iron Footbridge, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Städel Museum. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Historical landmark
The Iron Footbridge, also known as Eiserner Steg, is a historic landmark in Frankfurt that offers stunning city views and is adorned with padlocks left by romantic couples. This wrought iron bridge was originally designed by Peter Schmick and constructed in 1868, connecting the Romerberg at Sachsenhausen neighborhood. Despite undergoing reconstructions over the years, it has maintained its original design.
This bridge is really cool, it is covered in love locks. It is pretty insane how some of these locks are all connected in ways I didn’t even think was possible. The bridge also offers beautiful views of the skyline and is pedestrian only. I recommend!
Tadeusz G — Google review
Beautiful bridge with amazing views of the river and skyline! The Iron Footbridge is perfect for a walk, especially at sunset. You can see both sides of Frankfurt and all the love locks add a nice touch. A must-visit spot for great photos and a peaceful stroll! Also covered with locks! Great place for couples to stroll by
Jack F — Google review
A perfect stop for travelers exploring Frankfurt! The Iron Footbridge (Eiserner Steg) is more than just a crossing — it’s a scenic spot where history, romance, and skyline views come together beautifully. I visited around sunset, and the reflection of the skyscrapers on the Main River was breathtaking. It’s a short walk from Römerberg, so it fits easily into any walking route around the old town. You’ll find plenty of people here — locals jogging, tourists taking photos, and couples leaving love locks on the railings. It’s one of those rare places that feels peaceful even when it’s busy. Tip: Visit early in the morning or near sunset for the best photos and fewer crowds. Bring a coffee, enjoy the fresh breeze, and take in the view — it’s a fantastic spot to feel the vibe of Frankfurt!
Ravindra G — Google review
Great place to take a walk. You can start with the bridge and then go through promenade. You can get there with an elevator, so it is accessible for people with disabilities. Really fine and pleasant view. You can also go sightseeing with a boat. Pretty cool place.
Ola K — Google review
Magnificent place with excellent views. I came to know about this bridge by my favourite movie Bommarillu (Telugu/India). Got rain while I was on the bridge, but didn't affect much. There are some surrounding places good for memory.
Kini P — Google review
The iron bridge is a great sight. From the entrance to the other end, it is only a matter of a few minutes, but you will have covered an old iron bridge traversed billions of times. The bridge is a large one with wide steps leading to the entrance. Though it is a footbridge, it is wide enough for several people to walk side by side. It is also very good for photographs. It has become a landmark in Frankfurt. When we visited it, there were several other visitors proving that it is a popular tourist destination. Lovers used to leave locked padlocks on the bridge. Now there are tens of thousands of such locks on the bridge.

Stunning Views, Historic Charm – A Must-Visit Landmark in Frankfurt! The Iron Footbridge (Eiserner Steg) is not just a pedestrian bridge — it's a panoramic balcony to one of Germany’s most vibrant and modern cities, steeped in history, culture, and breathtaking riverfront views. Whether you're a traveler, photographer, or simply out for a walk, this spot is absolutely unforgettable. As you step onto the bridge, the city opens up before you in a perfect postcard scene. On one side, you see the striking skyline of Frankfurt — a rare fusion of historic architecture and glass-covered skyscrapers that make this city so uniquely beautiful. On the other side, the peaceful charm of Sachsenhausen invites you with its traditional German taverns, cobblestone streets, and warm ambiance. The Main River flows gracefully beneath, offering mesmerizing reflections of the buildings and the bridge itself. At sunset, the sky turns golden-orange and paints the water in magical hues — it’s an experience that stops you in your tracks. Whether it’s day or night, sunny or misty, the atmosphere here is incredibly serene. The bridge is also known for its "love locks", where couples from around the world have left behind tokens of love and memories. It adds a layer of intimacy and charm that makes it feel like more than just a place — it’s a symbol of connection, both physically and emotionally. Tip: It’s one of the best photo spots in Frankfurt — you can capture the river, the skyline, and the famous Frankfurt Cathedral (Kaiserdom) all in one frame. If you’re lucky, you’ll catch live musicians or street performers adding to the mood. Easy to reach, open 24/7, and completely free — the Iron Footbridge is the perfect spot for a romantic stroll, a moment of reflection, or simply enjoying Frankfurt’s dynamic blend of old and new. Highly recommended — a peaceful escape right in the heart of a busy city. Don’t miss it!
Zeeshan Q — Google review
Eiserner Steg is an old iron bridge spreading across the Main river connecting Frankfurt old town with residential area on the southern bank. It's a nice historic structure now only for pedestrian traffic. I strongly suggest crossing it as it offers terrific views of entire Frankfurt, both modern and old town. Likewise many such bridges there're many love locks along it

The Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt is a modern and contemporary art gallery housed in a striking, angular building. It is renowned for hosting major temporary exhibitions featuring works from various periods. The gallery collaborates with esteemed institutions like the Tate Gallery and the Guggenheim Museum, showcasing diverse artists such as Munch, Giacometti, Frida Kahlo, and Marc Chagall.
Was lucky to visit the retrospective of Hans Haacke there during its last week. The overall impression is very good: detailed and non-obvious curatorial texts and extremely friendly and nice staff. Would be coming back when I’m in Frankfurt.

After you find the entry (not very intuitive), you‘ll see a notice about a temporary closure. When you go to the new place (13 min by subway) they tell you that they don’t have an tickets yet — or an exposition (but that you can look at the building).

Great modern art museum with changing exhibitions. I enjoyed the current exhibition of Carol Rama (1918-2015), a pioneering Italian woman artist who only got recognized late in life. Rama definitely had a her own style although her triptych reminded me of Francis Bacon (1909-1992). Her artworks included both figurative and abstract works. The artist lived her entire life in Turin.

Just been there today for their Marc Chagall exhibition. It is well organized but today was too crowded. We bought ticket at 12 pm and had to waited for 1 hour to get in, understandable. But once we got in it was too packed I mostly saw people’s back. LOL. Ticket is 14€. Audio guide is available only in German. Staffs are friendly thou.

Loved the idea behind this particular gallery based on unorthodox musical instruments. But I give 4 not 5 because it should be more clear to the public that to really enjoy the soul of the musical instruments mixed into your living space you had to be there for certain times of the day on certain times of the week. I saw a guitar made completely from parts of guns... Very cool

Park
Nizza, also known as the Nice Garden, is a picturesque 11-acre city park located on the northern bank of the River Main in Frankfurt. The park features a charming promenade and a café surrounded by lush Mediterranean plants such as palm trees, lemon trees, and fig trees. Thanks to its unique microclimate created by its southern exposure, wind protection from the quay walls, and sunlight reflected off the river, Nizza Garten provides an ideal environment for these exotic plants to flourish.
Great place for picnics and Promenade. The whole area around is very calm, you see a lot of people sitting and relaxing by the river. In spring all nature has unique colors and you can enjoy a walk on the banks of the river Main. The surrounding area has several attractions within a few minutes walk.

A fantastic waterfront park for walking with scenic views of the water, bridges and city. There is not very much space for football or other wide ranging sports, but the paths are set for bicycles and walking. Both sides of the river are available. Stairs are located close to bridge crossings.

Unexpected tropical botanical garden in Frankfurt on Main River was a nice surprise. Plants are more typical for French Riviera, the garden’s existence is possible due to high quay wall and beneficial southern exposure of the garden. Beautiful even in rainy fall weather.

Beautiful “small but long” park along the side of the river. One area has an excellent playground for kids with 10 different areas - it seems fun for ages 2-10. Good green areas to relax and take a nap, and nice spots encouraging new hives to grow.

It is nice museum with multiple floors, famous art, and contemporary selections as well. We have spent the whole day. Toilets are nice and clean. The person at the first place before stairs was very informative and friendly 💐👍😀. Lockers are nice and have 1 or 2 € deposit. Roof top was nice. Strongly recommend seeing this museum 👌. It is a bit expensive though, 16 € per person.

this is definitely a museum that you should take the time to see. They have three floors a various artist and art. It’s quite pricey. It’s €18 per person which I find expensive. entrance. People at the cashier were very nice. They were helpful. They also have bathrooms which were very clean a gift shop they also had a small café with a lovely young lady behind it who could speak English I’m always happy when that happens since I don’t speak German and I ordered a piece of the apple pie which she recommended and it was delicious and a cup of cappuccino. It’s a nice way to spend 2 to 3 hours enjoying the beautiful art.

Was skeptical it would be worth the 16 euro entry fee but for what you get, the price is reasonable or even cheap. The sheer scale of this place and the range in its collection is mind boggling. Beautifully curated. Temporary exhibition that was on at my time of visit was also very thought provoking. Exhibits range from religious paintings to contemporary paintings to sculptures to photographs and multimedia. I almost missed the underground exhibits but 100% make it a point to stop by. The modern experimental art is incredible (funded by various German institutions I believe). Genuinely could spend hours there. You can casually see famous artists works displayed. Lovely staff as well. 10/10. That’s how you do an art museum!!

An overall pleasant space surrounded by beautiful architecture, artistically designed staircase leading up to the rooftop terrace, overlooking the River Main and Frankfurt’s skyline. Stadel didn’t seem to have as many star attractions as some of the larger museums, but Schuch and French Art exhibition was an interesting theme. I downloaded their app to see if that would work as an audio guide, but it unfortunately didn’t work.

The restaurant located in Frankfurt am Main right next to the river. We had a late lunch, lovely atmosphere, the waitress was very happy to serve ( very unlikely than other restaurants in Germany) The food was delicious however there was no sushi and sashimi on the Sundays. But overall it was very nice place to go for weekends.

We ordered cappuccino, it was one of the worst cappuccino I’ve ever had cuz was really dark roasted coffee and there was no art on it! German restaurant
Haus Wertheym is a must-see attraction in Frankfurt, known as the oldest half-timbered house in the city that survived World War II bombings. Its exterior showcases a striking blend of old and modern architecture. Inside, visitors can enjoy a cozy and diverse restaurant. Dating back to the early 1400s, this historic gem has served various purposes over the centuries and now houses a classic German eatery.
Absolutely amazing and beautiful restaurant located in the historical city center with great service and delicious food. The portions are big and the prices are reasonable. Highly recommended to visit and try local specialities.

The restaurant has a very nice aesthetic. The food was also decent with a reasonable price for a touristy spot in Römerberg (We ordered a schnitzel with potatoes/ fries) However, we did not have a good dining experience at all. The waiter was rude and did not have a good service language. We understand that there were quite a few customers but our table was not demanding at all. We dined and we left and we agreed with other comments why it would be popular for tourists but nobody would come here for a second time. If anybody sees this review, you can find other restaurants nearby with better experience, price, and especially service.

So a 4 on the service because you have two old German men running it but it's worth a little wait for sure.

This restaurant is working only for tourists, because no one would ever go second time there. Absolutely horrible food. It was for the first time in my life that I had a bite only and couldn’t eat more. Remember you can only pay cash there. However I have to say there are super friendly staff. And the atmosphere itself is beautiful.
Lusy S — Google review
My parents have been coming here since the early 1970s, it’s become a standard part of their regular trips to Frankfurt to visit friends. I have also continued the tradition. Sadly this time we were treated very rudely by the staff, so will not return until the management has changed. It’s a real shame. It apparently looks exactly the same as it did 50 years ago, it’s a very quirky place packed with history. But all of that means nothing when the staff treat you like a piece of dirt on their shoe. As others have said it seems like they are now trading entirely on their location, assured that they will always have an influx of new tourists no matter how poorly they treat people.

I LOVED this cute place to dine while walking about the older part of Frankfurt. My husband and I just stumbled upon it around lunchtime, and we were hoping for local cuisine, so this seemed like a decent choice. It was a beautiful day, so we THOUGHT we'd eat outside at one of their tables, but upon entering the restaurant, we were enchanted! I had to get a table in that place! And we didn't have to wait! I could hardly blink for fear of missing something cute hanging from the ceiling or on the wall. Rich woods, lots of signs with quotes written on them in German, artwork EVERYWHERE, painted glass... all were a feast for the eyes! And what a menu! We both decided on the Sweineschitzel and a couple beers. It was all perfect! We sat at a large table against a wall so we could take in everything around us. The other diners seemed like locals, except for two couples who walked in after us. The host (maybe he owned the place) was cheerful and lovely. I hadn't noticed a sign that they only took cash! A minor inconvenience, as there were other ATMs nearby (note that many of these are actually located inside stores/restaurants and not out on the street). We were so thrilled with our choice and I'd take others there on a future Frankfurt layover!

I visited the city with a friend and decided to eat lunch here. The food was delicious and the atmosphere on another level. Definitely recommend!

I had lunch here with a friend who spoke German, so I was lucky that I didn't experience any issue with the services mentioned in other reviews. The waiter was attentive and they have an English menu available. The restaurant was quite small, so we had to share a big table with other customers. There were a few tourists here when we visited but I would say 80% of the customers were Germans so the restaurant should be quite authentic. The decor of the restaurant reminded me of the setting in Game of Thrones. It was fun to dine in such a historic building. The food itself was not very impressive though. The taste was rather bland, but I think that was a problem with German food in general. They only accept cash for payment.

Eritrean restaurant
Im Herzen Afrikas is a family-run restaurant in the heart of Frankfurt am Main that offers an immersive culinary experience. The cozy setting with scattered cushions and low sofas creates a relaxed atmosphere, allowing diners to savor delicious African dishes while feeling as if they are on a sandy beach in Africa. The menu features a variety of authentic Eritrean delicacies, including salads, couscous appetizers, and unique specialties like ostrich and zebra meat.
I had a wonderful experience! I got there two minutes before the kitchen closed. The staff were amazingly kind, they suggested a great dish so I could taste some typical flavors. I tried a drink called AfriSpritz and loved it.(they have quite a list of drinks I wanted to try). The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the atmosphere is cozy and warm. An experience I would definitely recommend and hope to come back on my next trip to Frankfurt! (Bear in mind that the kitchen closes around 21.30, at least on a week day)

This is most definitely a hidden gem in Frankfurt! We were instantly greeted when we entered the door and seated (I'd recommend you call ahead and make a reservation as this place only had one small table available when we arrived). The waitress was bilingual and extremely helpful, and the food was packed with flavor.

The food was absolutely delicious, many many flavours. The atmosphere was stunning, it had great vibes and amazing decorations. But above all the service was so great, I have never experienced such professionalism, friendliness and niceness all in one. Thank you for this amazing experience!

Good Eritrean food. I was missing a bit of variation of food and it was a bit overpriced. But there was a wide variety of drinks of South African origin and a very attentive staff

The indoor of the dining was very nice and vibey music but I was surprised by the service. As a solo diner I was seated within 5 minutes arriving to a bar-like table facing the wall. I sat for about 10 minutes before I could wave down a server for a menu since he forgot to give me one. I ordered still water, the hummus and a mixed platter. The mixed platter came out shortly and was good although I was expecting the hummus appetizer first. The server apologized and brought it out. I was surprised that it was cold hummus...it tasted like store bought with oil poured on top with cold flat bread despite the nice presentation. I had a couple of bites and took the rest to go. I was surprised to be charged for it despite getting it after my main meal. Overall, it was a fun vibe inside but wasn't very impressed with the service and the food was OK. I've had better and more traditional.

For day 3, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Bethmann Park. Not quite as popular as Goethe House, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 8 hours.

Zoos & Aquariums
Established in 1858, Zoo Frankfurt is home to a diverse array of animal species thriving in naturalistic environments. The zoo is one of the top attractions in Frankfurt, alongside other popular sights like Romerberg, Stadel Museum, and Palmengarten. Visitors can immerse themselves in local culture and explore the city's vibrant restaurant scene.
The zoo is very picturesque! Nicely decorated and great it is good for a weekend family activity. Lots of different animals from all corners of earth, but don't expect to see them all since their enclosures are very big and they often hide. The food is also great and I definitely recommend it!
Nika Š — Google review
Pretty great zoo, pretty quiet when I visited. Great variety of animals and species I had never seen before. Loved all of the birds! Pity the shops in the zoo were cash only though! But I enjoyed my time at the zoo with my photos. I would recommend but wouldnt need all day to visit!
Jeremy A — Google review
This zoo offers incredible value with prices significantly better than what I experienced at Dublin Zoo (my only prior comparison). The atmosphere was wonderfully nice and friendly. Unfortunately, my visit was constrained by a flight, which forced me to rush and prevented me from seeing the entire park. Prospective visitors should note that certain popular enclosures, like the giraffes, close 30 minutes prior to the main zoo closing time, which I missed. Overall, it was a very positive experience and a great place to visit on a Sunday in Germany.
Una — Google review
The reptile and nocturnal houses were really cool! Coming from the United States there were a lot of animals I don't see very often in American zoos. It's small-ish in size but they really pack in a lot of animals without feeling like they're in small enclosures. We got here late in the day and spent about 2.5 hours here but we could've spent another hour or two.
Jordan B — Google review
What a fantastic day at the Frankfurt Zoo! A definite highlight for me was the penguin 🐧🐧🐧🐧 enclosure. They are so charming and fun to watch as they waddle around and swim gracefully in the water. The whole zoo is beautifully laid out with so many amazing animals to see. Highly recommend it for a perfect day out! ❤️❤️❤️

It's a small zoo, do not plan to visit for longer than two hours. It's nice but definitely not a destination. Small kids would enjoy a visit, it's not too full with people and you can easily get around on foot. Make sure to bring cash though if you're planning on having a snack (they do not accept anything else. Also Beware, the coffee at the park is a crime against humanity! The dark habitat and the reptile and rodent pavilion deserve a special mention, the animals all seem well taken care of and the enclosures look adequate for the inhabitants. Absolutely worth a visit.
Inna Y — Google review
We had been so looking forward to visiting the zoo in Frankfurt. But it was a complete disappointment. You had to look for a long time for a place to buy either coffee or something to eat. Where were the giraffes? Elephants, lions and tigers. We had been most looking forward to seeing them. There were none of these animals, so definitely not worth the money. So we left very disappointed.
Liskoertz A — Google review
On the good side, there are many kinds of animals, lush and pretty easy to walk around as it’s not too large. The downside was that it’s a bit worn down and old, we didn’t see any lions, tigers and other animals. One penguin looked like it was screaming and dying. Other guests were not too respectful to the animals, banging on the glass wall and pouring water on them. It’s fine for the price though, but 1,5 hours was enough.

Very beautiful place to relax in the city of Frankfurt am Main . Entry is free . Structure in the park are off like Chinese architecture. It’s comparatively a small park within the city . You need maximum 2 hours to completely explore each and every corner of the park . No dedicated parking facilities I saw there . I couldn’t find toilet facilities also in the park ( it could be there somewhere but I am not sure ) I have enjoyed the park with my whole family for about 3 hours .

Beautiful historical site. The Romer still stands in Frankfurt in all its majesty. This medieval building is perhaps the city's most important landmark. In the past it was regarded as the most beautiful square in Germany. Now it is a very popular square and a very good spot for photographs. Romer is the seat of the Frankfurt city administration. There was a sizable crowd there when we went to it. There was also some preparations going on for an upcoming national event.

The Römer is absolutely stunning - a must-see when visiting Frankfurt! The old town square around it is full of charm, with half-timbered houses, cafés, and plenty of photo spots. You really get a feel for the city’s history here. It’s especially nice in the evening when the lights come on, and during the Christmas market it looks magical. Easy to reach by foot or public transport, and there are lots of restaurants nearby. A perfect place to start exploring Frankfurt!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 Went to Jamy’s Burger today and got the Jamy’s DoublePack with fries — wow, this was next-level! Juicy, perfectly cooked patties, fresh toppings, and the flavour was just insane. Honestly the best burger I’ve had in Germany so far. If you’re a burger fan, you have to try this place!

Excellent place to grab a bite and try out some delicious dry-aged beef burgers. Despite there wasn't an English menu, the server (Sophia) was very friendly and helpful. She was attentive and had a cheerful attitude - the traits of an excellent server. The burgers were reasonably priced, and each bite was so flavorful that by the time I stopped, I realized I had finished my burger. Definitely recommend, and will come back to try some of the other items.

Vegan restaurant
SEVEN SWANS is a Michelin-starred vegan restaurant located in the narrowest house in Frankfurt, offering a cool and minimalist dining experience with a stunning view of the Main River. Chef Ricky Saward focuses on regional, seasonal, and sustainable ingredients, with produce sourced from their own permaculture farm. The tasting menus feature adventurous vegan dishes paired with wines, showcasing creative combinations that may seem unusual at first but harmonize fantastically.
This meal was outstanding. Each plate and paired beverage are carefully thought out, with fresh grown or picked ingredients. Every time a new dish comes out, it is explained thoroughly by the chef in German to the room, or English to your individual table. You’ll see there are only a couple of reservation times each day, because the experience does take a full 4 hours. We were lucky and got on the waitlist the day before, and a space did open up. I’ve read that reservations are usually booked months in advance though, so consider this if you’re planning a trip. Unless you’re dying to try the selected German wines, I would opt for the non-alcoholic pairing (shared between two people to save some money). Each venerate is so creative and tastes match the plates perfectly. Also, water is not included in the meal or beverage pairing, so you’ll have that additional charge. NOTE that the drink pairing does NOT start until the main courses start, so you will be charged for the first glass or two of wine. This was not shared in the moment, so I would ask first when offered a beverage. I was shocked when the bill came, perhaps naively, because of the above few sentences. If you have the money and time to spend, I would 1000% recommend this experience! And pick the chef’s brain with all your questions :)

An Outstanding Culinary Experience – Beyond Fine Dining! From the very moment we stepped into the restaurant, it was clear that we were in for something truly special. The atmosphere was modern and stylish, yet warm and inviting—creating an ambiance where you instantly feel at home. The entire team was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and radiated a passion that made the experience even more memorable. The menu was a true masterpiece of plant-based cuisine: creative, locally sourced, and bursting with flavor. Every ingredient was of the highest quality, prepared with meticulous attention to detail. The beverage pairings were just as impressive—both the wine selection and the non-alcoholic alternatives were thoughtfully curated. The sommelier's storytelling turned every wine and no alcohol drink into an experience, making even unconventional choices intriguing. While, for me only, the 2004 Rheingau Riesling stood out as an absolute highlight and the sparkling aperitif too. The non-alcoholic pairing was nothing short of spectacular—far from simple wine or sparkling substitutes, but rather a selection of handcrafted creations full of depth and complexity. This restaurant is more than just a place to eat—it’s a sensory journey. A plant based culinary experience that redefines fine dining and stands apart from traditional Michelin-starred establishments. We were absolutely blown away and will definitely be back. An absolute must for every plant based gourmet enthusiast—simply outstanding!

Incredible experience. The in depth explanations of the head chef are one of a kind. Perfectly catering to English speaking guests. Should easily deserve 2 or 3 Michelin stars instead of the 1 they currently have.
Simon S — Google review
The place is small, kind of cosy but there is really not much space inside, especially in the staircase. The service is great and the waiters were very much attending. The food is overall good and we appreciated the concept of using regional and seasonal ingredients, but there were two major problems leading to this average rating : 1. The food, but especially the broths were simply too salty We are used to go to Michelin-starred restaurant, and we never had such salty food. 2. The wine pairing has to be rethought totally You are serving about 10 dishes and for every dish, 1 glass of wine. This is far too much. At least show the menu that will be served and the wines that will accompany them before to start, so everyone knows what they will get and if they want to skip a glass or two. Also please note that the prices for the menus and the wine pairing were not informed at the beginning of the dinner. For transparency, you should disclose information before dinner starts.
Raphaël G — Google review
Excellent food and dining experience, unfortunately they somehow contaminated the dessert course with tree nuts. I have a tree nut allergy and we let them know prior to the meal. I understand that things happen, but I started having a reaction and they treated my allergic reaction as though it couldn't have been caused by the kitchen...... Anyway, we enjoyed the dining experience but for 450 euros, I was not impressed by how they dealt with the situation.
Nate A — Google review
The most intense, flavorful and extraordinary food you can get. Everything is vegan and locally sourced, most of the ingredients are grown in their own meadow. (Many of the guests are not vegan, but they are in search for something outstanding.) There is a single seasonal menu with 7 courses and 2 pre-courses. The chef is a genius -- "plant-based alchemy" may be an apt term for his art, extracting aromas out of trees and flowers, making gels, foams, combining the ancient with the modern in techniques and flavors. Two tips: take the alcohol-free drinks with the menu because you'll never find anything like these unique creations anywhere else (the staff will, on request, happily give you small tasting portions of the wine menu if you have FOMO); and dare to get in contact with the other guests of the small group you're dining with 😁 you may find extraordinary connections.

One word: perfection!! We've been there on a Saturday in August. From the very beginning, being greeted with a superb Apéro at the bar, getting to know our host of the evening and a first introduction to the small bunch of other guests, over all those insanely well thought-out and precisely crafted courses, paired with fitting wines (only tasted on sip each) or alcohol-free but no less flavourful alternatives, to chef Ricky's (+ team) warm but professional way of guiding us through this exceptional experience.. thanks you all, and we'll be back.

El Pacifico is a vibrant and lively Mexican restaurant known for its delicious enchiladas, burritos, fajitas, and tequila cocktails. The menu offers a variety of vegan-friendly options such as homemade totopos with guacamole, rice pan with seasonal vegetables and refried black beans, and the burrito vegetariano filled with mushrooms, tomato, spinach, pepper, carrots, pozole corn and zesty salsa verde.

They have multilingual cute servers as well…

I have had mexican food around the world, this was not spectacular. Let me be more direct 70% of menus with fajitas have at least beef, at this place only chicken and shrimp. 25% of the world wants chicken, less than 10% wants shrimp and a massive 70% want beef. Skirt/flank steak is available in Germany you just have to ask the butcher for it. Now even though skirt steak in Germany is considered a junk cut, this does not stop all other nations from using it in 5 star places to eat. Though the atmosphere and location were ok the food minus the smaller portions it was just so so. I have had much much better mexican food in my life and consider myself somewhat of an expert on this subject having eaten mexican food in at least 20 different nations.

El Pacifico is a nice place to enjoy Mexican food with tasty dishes and good service. The atmosphere is lively, but it’s often so crowded that it can be difficult to relax and chat with friends. It would be a great spot for a night out or a nightclub, but for dining, it can feel a bit too busy. Perhaps finding a way to manage the number of guests or tables could improve the experience. Nonetheless, the food and service are still very good.

This restaurant provides a tasty and fairly authentic Mexican food experience overall, making it a good option in Frankfurt. However, two elements require significant improvement: the Tres Leches dessert is not it, and the Michelada mix itself is poor. For the Michelada, allowing customers to choose their preferred Mexican bottled beer instead of the standard draft would be already and improvement, but the main focus should be fixing and improving the flavor of the mix.

Lovely. The only issue was too much food ... Which we could not take with us as we were staying in a hotel. I think that the waiter should have told us how much we ordered and a bit of portion control! But both waiters were very friendly. The restaurant nice and food extremely fresh. The location is central too. I did find the salad a bit over priced but the quality was amazing so I should not complain too much. The wine went well with the meal. All in all a good meal... It was pre-booked. The service is extremely long. I understand that some restaurants may have an issue with kitchen , but to wait for fish for more than an hour - it is outstandingly long. And I was frustrated with quality. The fish was too much oily with no need. Taste is spoiled. Not healthy and not tasty. I am disappointed with my choice of the restaurant and do not recommend it.

I was unfortunately disappointed. I used to go to ARISTON regularly between 2017 and 2020, and the quality of the food has dropped significantly. Everything is drenched in what tastes like an intense feta sauce. Our octopus was rubbery, our bifteki was too salty. The saganaki tasted and looked like it was frozen and deep fried. Service was attentive, but nothing exceptional. I hope it was a fluke, as I used to consider this a true gem. But they didn’t hit the mark tonight.

I liked this place, its atmosphere and interior - all is fine. Their menu is pretty big and you can definitely choose almost what ever you want. Friendly staff, the lady was so "friendly" so I would say intrusive. I didn't check whether they have a wife but definitely no parking. No questions to food, all what I have chosen were great: fresh, tasty and done like in Athens.

It was an amazing overall experience ! The staff is super friendly, helpful and nice- they do their best to make you feel welcomed and we really felt super comfortable. The interior is good it has a nice atmosphere. Their loukoumades are the best ones I have tried so far, really amazing- 5 stars for the loukoumades!! The food in general was ok for a Greek restaurant in Germany. Some dishes like the truffle paste and melitzana were extraordinary tasty!

This restaurant is next to konstablewache, really in the heart of the city center, amazing service, waitress were really nice and helpful. 😁 We had different appetizers to start, and they were really tasty and nice Main dishes wouldn't said are that much, without the appetizers it may wouldn't be enough. Wouldn't say it's cheap and there is lot of meet/fish/chicken options, but definitely worth to try it 😊😄🤩 Nice environment inside the restaurant, cute and pleasant 😊 definitely will come back😊

Shopping mall
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Frankfurt am Main, Skyline Plaza is a modern shopping haven that seamlessly blends retail therapy with urban charm. This expansive multilevel mall boasts over 170 shops, featuring an array of clothing, shoes, jewelry, and accessories from both international brands and local favorites. While it may evoke the feel of an American mall due to its familiar chain stores dominating the landscape, it still offers unique finds like Pull & Bear and Chipotle's first German location.
Very surprised to see the variety of food in foodcourt Skyline Plaza. They had this 8 euro per large plate and you can basically get from their buffet food as much as you want. As long as it fits the plate that you will be paying. It is totally worth it and a must try. This is much more money saving compared to other food stores in the mall. You basically can eat all of their food or maybe one of each. Even so if one of each, you still have some more space in your plate. Highly recommend place.

I Felt there a very nice sensation. Very comfortable and easy to walk! there are much places to buy, easy and calm, to eat: good places to be seat or to buy food! Chocolates and everithing is ok in the Skyline! I enjoyed every moment there with my family!!!

Skyline Plaza is a fantastic shopping destination in Frankfurt! The mall has a great mix of stores, from popular international brands to local shops, and it’s very clean and modern. What really makes it stand out is the rooftop terrace — a perfect spot to relax with a view of the city skyline. There are plenty of dining options, whether you’re in the mood for a quick snack or a sit-down meal. The location is convenient, close to Messe and easy to reach by public transport. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Frankfurt and want a pleasant shopping and leisure experience!

Nice small, different options for Halal food and restaurants… There are many shops they were providing discount during my visit … You need to pay if you want to use the toilet is in the top … The view upstairs on the roof is unbelievable at sunset , but atmosphere was not good, many people smoking outside and dating there even there are kids playing around!… Anyhow it is nice place for couple in the evening…

Skyline Plaza is one of my favorite shopping centers in Frankfurt. Besides being easily accessible, it has a great selection of restaurants and shops.

I was really surprised to find that the toilets on the ground and first floor smelled very unpleasant. They are actually the same facility. It’s disappointing, especially since even children have to pay to use it. I would expect cleaner and better-maintained toilets, especially for families. I hope the management improves the hygiene soon.
Aneseh A — Google review
This place was a surprise, we came here for the parking to be closer to the centre of the city, It turned out to be a great surprise. The mall has a city garden on top, accessible for free, where you have a beautiful view of the skyline city. Parking is also a good price, for around 5 hours we paid 9€. This is definitely impossible in other big cities from Europe ( in Amsterdam for example parking is a minimum of 6€/ hour )

History Museums
The Senckenberg Nature Museum is a large natural history museum that houses an impressive collection of dinosaur skeletons and a giant anaconda. It is one of the must-see attractions in Frankfurt, alongside other popular sights like Romerberg, Stadel Museum, and Frankfurt Zoo. The museum offers visitors a chance to explore the wonders of nature through its extensive exhibits. Additionally, it provides an opportunity to experience local culture and cuisine while being surrounded by fascinating artifacts and displays.
I came here recently on a weekday afternoon. It happened to be a day for school excursions as many kids were seen being led by teachers. This is one of the best science museums I've ever visited. Alot of thought and hard work has gone into this museum. You can easily spend a day here browsing all the exhibits. I loved the dinosaur and animal exhibits best. Sadly most of the exhibits information was in German. Wish they included them in English as well. Plenty of seating options to take a break. I had a rest at their lovely cafe too- their special honey cake was really nice and service was excellent. Would totally recommend this place for all ages.

Amazing experience🤠 My childhood dream was visiting a natural history museum of this size and abundance of exhibits. I’m giving 4 stars just because the air conditioning was off in the middle of July and the staff had to open the front entrance and rear door to cool down the visitors. Also some of the solar system sections didn’t have lighting. Overall as a Dino nerd I would recommend anyone to visit this museum!
Aldin R — Google review
Interesting museum with a large collection of species from all around the world. Everything is well specified and described. You can see a large number of different species, from the ones that are common and that you see everyday, to endangered ones and the ones who are, unfortunatelly, extinct. There is a part with skeletons, which is probably the most attractive part for the average visitor and children. A couple of skeletons of dinosaurs and fossils describe how Earth looked like a long time before humans. It is a nice place to learn, deepen the knowledge and get familiarized with flora and fauna.
Alen V — Google review
Fascinating museum with a huge variety of exhibits - from giant dinosaurs to mammals and even displays about the human brain! Everything is well presented and easy to explore, with plenty of information and fun details. Great for both adults and kids, you can easily spend the whole day in here without getting bored. You can have a discount with Frankfurt card 🙌
Freya N — Google review
Was wanting to go to the other museums, but they were closed for renovations. Went here. LOTS of kids screaming everywhere. The bird exhibit is worth seeing. I appreciated the labeling if something was an original or casting. Also appreciated the dual language tags.
James ( — Google review
Well worth the €12 adult entry, even as an English speaker who couldn't understand all the text. The displays are beautiful- they have a wonderful selection of fossils, minerals and other items, which are all beautifully curated. The layout is very cool, and the building itself is geometric and adds to the sense of wonder and exploration. Would highly recommend. I believe we spent 4 hours here and could have spent another 1-2hrs there - only left due to time restraints on our part. A small gift shop.

Rate it as 9/10. As adults we easily spent 2 hours. All spectrum of animals, birds, fish, insects and more. I was quite sceptical before, but after visiting I can highly recommend it.

MAIN TOWER

Observation deck
In Frankfurt, there are numerous attractions and activities to explore, including the Main Tower. This skyscraper offers unparalleled panoramic views of the city from its public viewing observatory. Visitors can admire iconic buildings such as the Commerzbank Tower, Deutsche Bank Twin Towers, and Trianon while taking in the 360-degree vistas. Additionally, Main Tower features a restaurant and bar just below the observation deck, providing an opportunity to savor both cuisine and scenery.
Breathtaking 360° View of Frankfurt – Well Worth the Visit! An absolutely stunning 360° view of Frankfurt awaits you from the rooftop! It’s one of the best places to take in the city skyline from above. Tickets can be purchased directly at the entrance—€9.00 for adults. The staff was very friendly and professional. While there can sometimes be a queue at the entrance, it was thankfully quiet when I visited. Security is well organized—your bags are scanned before heading up in the elevator. There’s even a toilet available on the 54th floor, just one level below the rooftop, which is convenient if you need it during your visit. Overall, it’s a must-do in Frankfurt, especially if you’re into cityscapes and photography. Highly recommend visiting on a clear day for the best experience!

Great views from up there, but it was way too windy. the ticked was only 9€, the linie to buy the ticket there was not long, the people that work there are super niceee Ofc its worth to go up there once you are in Frankfurt, i would prefer it nights too.

Amazing views of Frankfurt! The Main Tower Observatory is a must-visit — super fast elevator, friendly staff, and the view from the top is incredible. You can see the whole city, the river, and even the hills in the distance. I went during the night and the view with city lights were beautiful. Totally worth it! It’s €9 for adults to go up the elevator with unlimited time at the top. So you can stay as long as you want. You will need to go through a security checkpoint first before getting on the elevator Overall, extremely worth the view if you are in Frankfurt!

Worth visiting once. There will be sitting area as well. I recommend once. No time limit for staying top. Camera is allowed. Beautiful view from the top. Ticket price is 9€ per person. Toilets available.

Totally worth the visit! The view from almost 60 floors up is breathtaking, you can see all of Frankfurt and beyond! The platform feels safe and open, and the atmosphere is amazing, especially at sunset. A must-see if you’re in the city! And you go by elevator ofc! It takes 1 minute to go up. Also it has discount with Frankfurt ticket.
Freya N — Google review
A great observation tower offering a full panoramic view of Frankfurt. There’s an enclosed platform, and if you climb a bit higher, you’ll reach an open-air deck. A family ticket costs €20 — definitely worth visiting!
Ieva Z — Google review
A tall skyscraper in Frankfurt am Main which offers a nice chance to view the city from above. The ticket is fair enough and the price can be further reduced when you buy the 1 day ticket for the city. The view is breathtaking and one can discern the structure of the city and the different districts. Absolutely recommended.
Vasilis K — Google review
If If you ever find yourself in Frankfurt, this place is not really worth checking out. The main reason is that the Frankfurt skyline is quite unimpressive. However, one interesting thing I noticed is that Frankfurt is surrounded by forests. This is a great thing because it means the air quality is good. The actual visit experience wasn’t pleasant either. It was still a heatwave in Europe that day, and there was no air conditioning in the elevator or anywhere else in the building. It was simply uncomfortable because you could smell something unpleasant around you. The observation area was very small, and the toilets were even smaller. I feel like they built this observation desk as an afterthought. Everything was out of place, with tiny elevator narrow stairs. On top of that, the view was mediocre. If you’re visiting Frankfurt on a Sunday and there’s no other place open, then this might be worth a visit.

Alte Oper is a historic opera house in Frankfurt, originally opened in 1880 and reconstructed after World War II. It offers classical concert programs and stands as one of the city's cultural landmarks alongside other attractions like Romerberg, Romer, Archaeological Museum & Garden, and Frankfurt Cathedral. The city also boasts a vibrant cultural scene with venues such as Schirn Kunsthalle and the German Architecture Museum.
Visiting the Old Opera House in Frankfurt was truly a magical experience. As I approached the building, I was immediately struck by its grand architecture – the intricate details, the grand columns, and the way it majestically stands against the modern skyline. It felt like stepping back in time to an era of elegance and classical beauty. Inside, the atmosphere was equally enchanting. The acoustics were incredible, and whether it’s a concert or just a casual visit, the ambiance transports you to a world of music and art. I couldn't help but admire the beautiful chandeliers and classic interior design, which add to the timeless charm of the place. Overall, the Old Opera House is a must-see in Frankfurt, whether you're an opera enthusiast or simply looking to experience a piece of the city's cultural heritage. I highly recommend adding it to your itinerary!

First time entering this gorgeous building and it didn't disappoint. The staff were friendly and available , the auditorium spacious and acoustically good. You do need to take out a bank loan for a drink at the interval but all in all a great place for a show
ScooterVonHootananny — Google review
The Frankfurt Opera is without question one of Europe’s finest cultural treasures. From the moment you step inside, you feel the blend of tradition and modernity that makes this house so unique. The acoustics are outstanding – no matter where you sit, the sound is rich, balanced, and powerful, allowing every detail of the orchestra and singers to be fully appreciated. The productions are consistently world-class. The repertoire strikes an impressive balance between beloved classics and bold contemporary works, offering something for both seasoned opera lovers and newcomers. Stage design, lighting, and direction are often daring and innovative, yet always respectful of the music and story. The orchestra performs with extraordinary precision and warmth, and the ensemble cast is among the strongest in Europe, with many performances easily rivaling those in Vienna, Berlin, or Milan. The experience is not only about the performance itself. The atmosphere in the foyer is elegant but not pretentious, with a welcoming feel that makes the evening special. Staff are professional and helpful, from ticketing to ushers, contributing to a smooth and enjoyable visit. The venue is also centrally located, making it easy to combine a performance with dinner or a walk through Frankfurt’s lively city center. Overall, the Frankfurt Opera offers an unforgettable experience that sets a high bar for musical and cultural excellence. Whether you are a devoted opera enthusiast or simply curious about the art form, a visit here is absolutely worthwhile.

Perched on the 53rd floor of an iconic tower, Main Tower Restaurant & Lounge offers breathtaking 360-degree views of Frankfurt's skyline. Guests can opt for a scenic elevator ride or enjoy fine dining with international dishes and cocktails while taking in the stunning cityscape. The restaurant, recently awarded a Michelin star, presents a modern five to seven-course menu featuring high-quality ingredients with Asian influences crafted by Chef Martin Weghofer.
The Main Tower Restaurant offers a fantastic dining experience from start to finish. Every course was exceptional, with meticulously prepared dishes that showcased attention to detail. The service was superb—attentive and professional—and the quiet atmosphere added to the enjoyment.

The service is absolutely perfect, the view, the experience everything is worth it but unfortunately the food is not that special. I would expect more from a michelin star restaurant. It wasn’t bad dont get me wrong, it just wasnt 1000€ good. Dubai, tel aviv and other cities with michelin star restaurants were just better food wise.
Wolfo — Google review
I found it a bit too pricey and the portions are tiny, even that it is the tasting menu. The food was very good, very artistic and service was very good, not too fancy. However, I would appreciate some local touch and use of more local products instead of constantly mentioning how their tomatoes came from the best Spanish tomatoes (where exactly in Spain lol) or some French vegetables or even more far away places. Wine by glass is too expensive too and wine pairing, consisting of 6 glasses of 100ml glasses is way too big for me, I would not be able to drink a whole bottle of wine alone.
Spot2travel — Google review
My sister and I were in the lounge and had a few drinks (Mojitos, Negroni, Espresso Martini, Macallan Whiskey) as well as the cheese selection. Everything was very tasty and beautifully prepared. The view was amazing and the staff very attentive and friendly.
Svea — Google review
Excellent cuisine with a view. The Main Tower delivers a beautifu viewl of the city and some delicious molecular gastronomy, but lacks in ambience and service. The setting is a bit austere and does not have the opulence of some other fine dining establishments. The service is typical German: to the point. The dishes were explained well, but it was all transactional. If you don't order the wine course - good luck. Cocktails and other drinks were hard to come by - my sole cocktail was never offered for a refill, water refills were also rather slow. The pace of the dinner is very slow, one truly can relax and enjoy the meal over 4+ hours with the nice sunset view of the city. All the courses were expertly crafted and very good to exceptional. Only a few, such as the quail for main course was sub-par. It is a bit pricey and I must admit the experience, while very good, just didn't have the wow factor we were looking for.

I would give more than 5 stars if i could do. Everything is perfect. Very good service. Beautiful view. Amazing creative food. Very delicious. We reserved a table for 3 course dinner for our wedding anniversary last year and this year. The price is quiet expensive. But worth it. We want to go for fantastic dinner here to celebrate our wedding anniversary every year.

Since I live in Frankfurt (which is about 3 years) I've always wished to experience this amazing Panorama Restaurant, highlight of the city. I had luck, as I called only 10min before my arrival to book a table, and had luck to receive one (normally one needs to book days earlier, and sometimes weeks). Needless to say I was amazed with the beautiful panorama and the simple, yet sophisticated interior of the restaurant. Food was absolutely delicious. Some of the ingredients were complete new to me (as I usually stick to me personally known recepies). Every course was presented in details by the competent and very polite and professional waiter. Special thanks to the waiter Mr. Wilhelm (I hope I rememmber correctly) who made our experienced so pleasant. With regards to the price, I would not say it is expensive. The price suits the overall sensation (the spectacular view and meals) + location. Best Regards, Nevena

Chipotle Mexican Grill has made its way to Germany, and it's a hit among locals and visitors alike. Despite some occasional shortages of ingredients like beef and guacamole, the taste remains consistent with the Chipotle experience in the United States. The Frankfurt location offers a variety of options including tacos, burritos, bowls, salads, and chips with guacamole. Customers have praised the food quality at this location and expressed their desire for more Chipotle restaurants closer to home.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5/5 Stars! I was obsessed with Chipotle during my time in California, grabbing it daily for those fresh, flavorful burritos and bowls. Imagine my surprise finding it in Europe! The quality is just as amazing—perfectly seasoned ingredients and that same hand-crafted vibe. This spot has made my day, proving Chipotle’s magic crosses continents. Highly recommend!

DON’T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!!! Ngl this was beyond disappointing. I was craving it so badly bc i hoped it was like in the us. They really charged me 12€ for this small portion. Thats a shameless amount for the price. Literally rice 1 spoon, protein 1 spoon, corn 1 tea spoon, salad was out. Didn’t even tell from the beginning… i don’t know if they do small portions or need better staffs. Highly recommend to train staff better and do solid portions. Wouldn’t come back. It’s not worth it!

Overpriced with just very average food taste and quality. The tax is not included in the food price as well. Charged you the Pfand for the bottle when you anyway still gave them the bottle back 🫡 Service is also just very meh. I don’t recommend to eat here, nothing great, you can always get way better wrap or tacos or burrito at a lower price and better taste.

My most favorite Mexican fast food chain! What a shock to discover it in the middle of Germany! Arrived around 30 minutes before closing on Friday evening, unfortunately they have already run out of beef and guacamole, which was bit disappointing. I wanted to go for tacos, however when I saw one of the staff member not knowing how to make them, I changed my mind and went for a bowl. That was great choice. I was very well surprised of the taste, as there was almost no different to the Chipotle in the States. Absolutely amazing, juicy, tasty, full of flavor and spices! Despite rush hours, the place was clean with lots of places to sit. It felt cozy and warm. Staff was very pleasant and chatty, however some of them need bit more training how to assemble Mexican food. Also would be good to extend opening hours, as I find it strange to close such a great place that people que to get in at 9 PM. The restaurant is located on the 4 OG (food court). Visited in April 2022.

I ordered a double chicken bowl with guacamole, which is almost 20 EUR. The portion size was beyond disappointing. They added so little of all the ingredients, barely followed up on the double chicken. You naturally would expect more rice, salad, beans, etc. Everything was super small, and I almost paid 20 EUR. Food tasted good, but never again.

Chinese restaurant
Sichuan restaurant
Höfchen Chinesisches Restaurant is a popular dining spot in Frankfurt known for its traditional Sichuan cuisine and cozy ambiance. The restaurant features an ancient Chinese decor and offers authentic, flavorful dishes that cater to both spicy food enthusiasts and those with milder tastes. While the menu leans towards spiciness, the restaurant adjusts the level of heat to suit local preferences. Prices are on the higher side, averaging around 50 for a meal for two people.
Finally! A Chinese restaurant where the elegance of interior design does justice to the quality of the food. Quite a few design choices appeal to me. Allow me to name a few highlights (with delightful nostalgia): ⭐️The chairs. Note the curved splat (the vertical center piece of the back support) and the curved crest-rail (the top horizontal piece of the back frame). The unique shape of the crest-rail earns the chair its nickname, the Official Hat Chair, for its resemblance to the winged official’s hat worn during the Ming dynasty. ⭐️The eight-immortals table. The type of square table that traditionally seats two on each side is designed to seat 8, hence the name, Table of Eight Immortals. My grandparents had a worn out one whose age nobody could tell. Seeing a roomful of such tables was an emotional moment for me. ⭐️The long wooden benches. The simplicity and humbleness of the benches stand in contrast to the elevated status of the Official Hat Chair. They give a nod to the name of the restaurant, Höfchen. ⭐️In German, Höfchen is a generic term for any little court or yard. The Chinese name, Xiao Yuan Ba, however, is richer in its cultural connotation. It immediately places the kitchen in the southwest region of China, in the Chengdu area. The word Yuan Ba is simply not used in my hometown area in the Southeast or anywhere in the North. Not even in provinces squarely in the South. The name calls to mind a sun-drenched outdoor space surrounded by rustic walls and full of jolly sounds of eating, drinking and casual banter. A community space.

The food was great authentic Chinese kitchen. They offer a variety of dishes of which we tried 5 different ones. They were all very good. The atmosphere is quite relaxed. While arriving right on time for our tablewe had to wait for 15 minutes to get seated as it was very busy. All fair and square. However, it then took another 25 minutes until we were able to order. The staff seemed to be a bit unorganised. We ordered 6 different of which one took over 30 minutes longer to arrive. We thought it had been forgotten and were okay with it. When it arrived we were already done eating basically and didn’t need our side vegetables anymore. When it came we stated this which resulted in the waitress to be very annoyed and stomping off. It has not been listed on the bill, which was good to see. Payment is only possible with cash or German EC cards so you cannot pay with MasterCard or Visa etc.

As authentic as it can be. Big portions and delicious. Ordered 5 dishes and 1 cold dish. What make the highlight of the meal are the garlic prawns which is cooked right in front of you, the mapo toufu which has a nice blend of black bean sauce and is not overwhelming with the numbness nor spicy and the green pepper fish which has nice tender fish slices with a nice spicy kick. Though the restaurant charges €1 for each diner, the rice is free flow. Definitely recommend this restaurant. Will come back again.

Authentic food, welcoming service, and great atmosphere. Definitely one of the best Chinese/Sichuan restaurants!
Nan Z — Google review
One of the best chinese restaurants in Frankfurt. They specialize in spicy food, but without a doubt the best item on the menu are the deep fried beef shanks (See Photo, already half eaten). I bring all my out of town friends here and they are always love it.
Jim D — Google review
Get ready for some authentic (and spicy) experience The place conveys a very authentic vibe. The options on menu are really very particular and not to be found in typical Chinese restaurants. The dishes we got were really spicy yet delicious and rich in flavor. Can really recommend pork belly and mapu tofu

Very good traditional food, very spicy though haha Service is great, but they are very full and in a hurry. Pay attention to the accepted payment methods and card brands. I suggest to make a reservation before getting there.

Restaurant
Bidlabu is a renowned Michelin-starred restaurant in the heart of Frankfurt, offering a modern take on traditional German and international cuisine. Led by Chef Andre Rickert, the menu showcases his creativity and commitment to using only the freshest seasonal ingredients. The restaurant's intimate yet relaxed atmosphere provides an ideal setting for enjoying artfully styled dishes and wine pairings.
This place was amazing. It’s small and intimate. There atmosphere was lovely. The host and waiters were all very pleasant and helpful. We did the 7 course tasting menu with wine pairing. Every dish was different and delicious in its own unique way. The wines were almost exclusively from either Germany or Switzerland.
Maurice M — Google review
Very nice Bistro/Restaurant with excellent food and very attentive service. There are two ever changing menus which you can choose from - with animals and veggie. Up to 7 courses are available. Super quality and fantastic looks. Good wine menu. It’s very nice to see the work in the kitchen while eating. Very professional very calm and yet busy because the restaurant was fully booked. Be aware that it could be quite noisy. We sat between two quite extroverted tables of four which did not allow for any romantic whispering 🙂 Having said that it was a brilliant evening and a great dining experience.
Christoph R — Google review
One of the most low profile fine-dining restaurants I've ever been to, Bidlabu is hidden in the back alley of Frankfurt city center. The environment gives you a cozy and urban vibe, also the food, we choose 7 courses, and guess the theme is Asian (particularly Thai) when we come in Oct., 2025. Like the char and duck the most !!! There's bean crisps on top of the char, very traditional Chinese way of cooking, while Bidlabu's way of cooking is more fusion, which blended the way of sous vide for the char, very tender and delicious. As to the duck, the medium rare cook of meat, served with pumpkin paste and sour cabbage 🥬, just about the perfect combination.

Taste amazing from appetizers, main and dessert. Super delicious and well presented. People were very kind and friendly. spacious and comfortable for gathering. Really love it. You should try whenever you come to Frankfurt am Main.
Jessica L — Google review
Greatness strangled by the limitations of the small kitchen We had high hopes. Seated at 7:35 PM, our 7-course menu with wine pairings started strong—the amuse bouche and drinks came out quickly. But things slowed drastically. By 9 PM, we had only reached the third course. Dinner didn’t end until 10:30. It felt like we were being held hostage by the pacing. The restaurant is tiny (about 600 sq ft), with 14 tables, 3 wait staff, and 3 chefs working in a kitchen smaller than most home kitchens. The executive chef didn’t start cooking until 8:30 PM. Our pacing seemed intentionally slowed to sync with later tables. One table next to us was seated at 7 PM and had to wait over an hour just to align with others. Dishes were repetitive—same sauces, same pickled elements, reused vegetables. My wife’s vegetarian course was just a mix of leftover garnish components. Honestly, the wine pairings were the only standout. For the price, Bidlabu should reduce the table count and focus on service flow and a more thoughtful menu. There’s talent here—but it’s being smothered by logistical limitations.
Jaehyun L — Google review
I had high expectations for Bidlabu after seeing so many glowing recommendations on Reddit—and of course, because of their Michelin star. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite live up to the hype for me. We opted for the 7-course tasting menu with wine pairing. While the wine pairing was genuinely excellent and elevated the overall experience, the food itself fell short. Most of the dishes (with the exception of the dessert) felt one-note, with surprisingly similar flavor profiles throughout the meal. The only dish that stood out to me was the egg yolk mushroom course, which was creative and flavorful. Service was another weak point—it was incredibly slow. It took us over three hours to get through the meal, and by the end, I was just ready to leave. All in all, the wine pairing saved the evening, but given the buildup, I expected much more from both the kitchen and the service.
Rachel K — Google review
My first visit to this Michelin one-star restaurant in Frankfurt. We opted for the 7-course tasting menu with wine pairing. It was a Monday evening, and the restaurant was completely packed—which already hinted at the quality of the food to come. We had a 7:30 PM reservation, but we didn’t expect dinner to stretch for three hours. While our server was friendly and pleasant, the pacing of the meal was far too slow. After two hours, we had only been served three dishes and had yet to receive our main course. It became clear the kitchen was trying to synchronize our service with other tables who arrived 30 minutes later—unfair to those of us who were seated earlier. I eventually had to speak to the waiter to request a quicker pace. Unfortunately, this delay significantly affected our overall experience. Despite the service issues, the food itself was excellent and deserving of high praise: • The meal began with a vibrant tomato saffron dish with octopus—refreshing and beautifully balanced. • The watermelon with cheese and avocado tasted surprisingly light and healthy, with a tangy note that reminded me of apple cider. • The wine pairing complemented each course well, especially the watermelon dish. • The catch of the day, likely snapper, served with marinated cabbage, dashi, and fregola sarda, was well-cooked and flavorful. • The highlight for me was the Joselito pork—a premium cut served with horseradish, beans, and apple. It was incredibly tender and absolutely delicious. As for desserts, the first course—featuring cheese—was underwhelming, with an aged flavor that didn’t quite work. However, the second dessert completely redeemed it: a medley of flavors that I couldn’t stop eating. The setting is entirely outdoor, and while charming, it can get quite warm during the summer. There was no fan or air circulation, and we were told that air conditioning isn’t possible due to the building’s age. If you’re sensitive to heat, this could be uncomfortable. In summary: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3 out of 5 stars) • Food: 4/5 – Excellent flavors and creativity • Service & Pacing: 2/5 – Far too slow and not fairly managed • Ambience: Depends on weather tolerance—no cooling system in summer Despite the long wait, I truly enjoyed the pork dish and several other highlights. However, the overall experience was held back by timing and comfort issues.
Andrew G — Google review
Got a cancelled seat during the same week, so worthwile joining waiting list Service, food and wine all excellent. But wine + food pairing was superior, better than all other 1* places I have eaten. Eat five courses and was really full, even Michelin star places have big portions in germany Paid around 300 for two - consider to be a bargain

Palmengarten Frankfurt is a sprawling botanical garden established in the 19th century, featuring an impressive collection of palm and orchid species showcased within its greenhouses. This renowned attraction is part of the must-see sights and activities in Frankfurt, alongside other landmarks such as Romerberg, Stadel Museum, and Frankfurt Zoo. Visitors can also explore local culture through dining options and budget-friendly accommodations while indulging in shopping experiences at Zeil Shopping District or enjoying vibrant nightlife scenes.
I visited the Palmengarten in Frankfurt am Main today 🌿 Such a peaceful oasis in the city. I really enjoyed wandering through the diverse plant collections, enjoying the lush greenery and the little hidden gems such as the charming ponds with fountains. The vibrant colors of the flowers were a delight and it was the perfect escape to connect with nature ❤️❤️❤️

Beautiful garden, it's so soothing to walk here. Families with kids, couples and groups enjoyed the mood. Next time we'll visit them on weekdays because the crowd was huge. We anticipated amazing butterflies but there weren't many.

The palmengarten was absolutely stunning and well taken care of, lots to see and the atmosphere is amazing. Its a great place for all ages, they have an awesome play area for the kids too. I just wish there were more toilets but other then that the place is a must see

Took my girlfriend on a date here and would happily return for more (both to the girl and the garden). The ticket price is well worth the experience, and I’d strongly recommend it to anyone who is looking to escape the cityscape into a lovely area of natural beauty. My only complaint was that it was so popular that many other people had the same idea I did, resulting in some over-crowding in a few of the areas. But overall, it receives 5 stars from me and a desire to return to lose myself there in the future.

Vast, almost otherworldly botanic gardens. Fascinating any time of the year if you have any interests in plants and botany. I went in autumn and the park was radiant with autumn colour. I went round clockwise from the Palmentgartenstrasse side and the think this was best. Started with nice lake views then onto the butterfly house and then the mind boggling greenhouses with various climate controlled zones.

Excellent botanical garden! Very large, with a wide variety of ecosystems. The tropicarium ranges from the Himalayan mountains to the deserts of South America. Above the waterfall there is a nice city view. In the underground grotto, there are aquariums with fish and plants from all over the world.

It is hard to describe the vibrant diversity of Palmengarten in Frankfurt. From the elegant glasshouse entrance to the lush tropical blooms, vivid cacti, and meticulously arranged flower beds, each image highlights the garden’s rich botanical variety and serene atmosphere. A perfect visual journey through nature’s beauty!

Palmengarten is a true treasure in the heart of Frankfurt. The range of plant life is incredible—from lush tropical greenhouses to peaceful rose gardens and desert cacti. Every section feels like a different world, all beautifully maintained and easy to explore. One of the highlights for us was the lake area, where we were pleasantly surprised by the variety of ducks! There were so many different species, all calmly swimming or waddling around—it added such a charming and lively touch to the serene atmosphere. We could’ve spent hours just watching them. The garden is perfect for a relaxing stroll, a romantic walk, or even a quiet solo visit. There are plenty of benches to sit and soak in the beauty, and the whole space feels peaceful yet full of life. Absolutely worth a visit if you’re in Frankfurt. A refreshing, scenic retreat with nature, beauty, and even some feathered friends!

Though not large or bustling, Grüneburgpark's simplicity and serene beauty make it a favorite among locals looking for a quiet retreat.

Definitely one of the nicest parks in Frankfurt! Being a blanket and some friends, walk your dog, join a sports group, go for a run, hang out with other parents by the playground :) Gets a bit loud and wild on the weekends, and it helps to like humans as the nearby university brings quite a few of them :) there’s also a fenced in dog area and some nice quiet corners to find. If you dare, come during sundowns around summer solstice where the fireflies migrate here from the neighboring botanical garden to work their magic on you ;)

St. Paul's Church, also known as Paulskirche, is a significant redbrick church in Frankfurt that serves as a memorial to the beginning of German democracy. It has been repurposed to host concerts and exhibitions. The original construction began in 1789, coinciding with the French Revolution. The church was where the first freely-elected legislative body in Germany, the Frankfurter National Assembly, convened in 1849.
Another unmissable place in the heart of Frankfurt. A spot for the first German parliament I can recommend the church to be visited. On the lower floor is a very interesting digital exhibition about the history of the building. The main room, the planery hall can be found on the upper floor. No entrance fee, recommended to go for it!

St. Paul’s Church in Frankfurt is a symbol of German democracy. Although no longer used as a church, it now hosts exhibitions and serves as a memorial site, offering great insights into German history. Definitely worth a visit.
KY W — Google review
St. Paul's Church has come to symbolize German democracy since the first German parliament took place here in 1848 and 1849. The church itself was designed by Johann Andreas Liebhardt (1713-1788). It was rebuilt after World War II by the prominent German church architect Rudolf Schwarz (1897-1961). On the outer wall of the church, there are numerous monuments including for John F. Kennedy (who spoke in the church in 1963), Theodor Heuss, Friedrich Ebert, and Carl Schurz, among others. The church is used for the annual award of the peace prize of the German book trade association. You can see its numerous illustrious award recipients on two plaques on the inside of the church. The main room is decorated with the flags of the German states.

St. Paul’s Church in Frankfurt is a historically significant landmark renowned for its role in German democracy. It is a former Protestant church used as a national assembly hall. The church is particularly celebrated for hosting the first freely elected German parliament in 1848. The church's neoclassical architecture, with its impressive circular nave and red sandstone facade, adds to its visual appeal. Inside, the spacious and serene interior provides a contemplative atmosphere. However the interior is very basic, so you could skip it unless you participating in some event.

The cafe overlooks the botanical garden and provides indoor seating as well as numerous outdoor tables on the terrace for visitors to enjoy. In addition to its charming ambiance, Siesmayer serves a diverse selection of breakfast, lunch, and early dinner options made from fresh seasonal and regional ingredients.
A pleasant cafe near Palmengarten. We went on a Sunday afternoon and had to wait to be seated for 10 minutes as it was crowded. The food options were great with a lot of vegetarian and vegan options. The food was of good quality and tasted great! The people were friendly and helpful!

One of my favourites in Frankfurt. I have to praise the elegant atmosphere and the professional staff. I have been there for lunch and for Kaffee und Kuchen and was always pleased. The food is delicious and (in my opinion) well worth the price. My recommendations: the special weekly menu, the Mille-Feuille Toskana (only available in the Summertime), and the fresh orange juice. You can pay with card and the staff helps you in English, if you specify this preference. During the sunnier months, it is very pleasant to sit outside. However, seeing as this is a very popular location, I would recommend booking a table in advance and specifying whether you would like to sit outside (even for Kaffee und Kuchen!). Quality is the motto of this house. Ideal for: a date, a special celebration, a classy treat...

Unbelievably rude. I can't even describe the disrespect. 65 cents for a tea cup. Questioning why we want an extra fork? (One dropped on the floor). Food was subpar and you can get much better coffee and pastries elsewhere. And before we receive their rebuttal we speak both German and English and in this case, we ordered in German. There are so many better places in Frankfurt. Please go there.

Margarete is a popular bistro in the historic center of Frankfurt, offering modern European cuisine and an inviting sidewalk patio. The restaurant is renowned for its luxurious Sunday brunch featuring delectable waffles and a variety of buffet favorites such as boiled eggs, potato wedges, sausages, cheese, smoked salmon, yoghurt, and muesli. Additionally, freshly prepared egg dishes and specials like zander, Tafelspitz, and ratatouille are available.
Dining at Margarete was a highly enjoyable experience. The staff were incredibly accommodating, seating us and taking our order even though the kitchen was due to close in just 10 minutes. The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and with generous portion sizes. The ambiance provided a refreshing escape from the excitement of Euro 2024, making it a perfect spot to unwind and savor a wonderful meal. Highly recommended!

While out trying to find a restaurant on a busy night when Germany was playing a football game, this restaurant was a welcome, pleasant retreat. Just out of the main tourist area, the bistro section had a padded outdoor couch awaiting us on the street. Excellent fresh, lemonades, potato soup, and entrees...organic sausages with generous portion of Frankfurter green sauce and goat cheese with apricots and vegetables. Service was remarkably attentive for Germany, as well!
