Frankfurt, situated on the river Main in Germany, is a prominent financial center housing the European Central Bank. The city boasts the Goethe House Museum, once home to renowned writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Although Frankfurt suffered damage during World War II, its Old Town has been reconstructed and features Römerberg square where an annual Christmas market takes place. Summer months offer warm weather for outdoor activities like strolling along the Main River or visiting Palmengarten botanical garden.

Historical landmark
New Old Town in Frankfurt, also known as Frankfurts Old Town, is a district that was partly destroyed during World War II but has been restored to its prewar look. The area features ornate townhouses and medieval buildings, giving visitors a glimpse of how Frankfurt once looked. Notable landmarks include the Alte Oper opera house and the iconic Haus zur goldenen Waage.
It is the heart of the city. Basically after Dom and all other beautiful things you end up here. It is very touristic but still quite nice and peaceful. There are lots of decent restaurants all around where you can enjoy.
Mustafa A — Google review
The buildings that were destroyed during the war have been reconstructed to match the aesthetics and architecture of the old building. Every building has a story to tell and history to reveal. There are a lot of cafes and shopping spots here. It was amazing walking along the buildings
Abhishek K — Google review
Loved it here, the square was so pretty and relaxing. A few lovely restaurants, most wanted you to have food and wouldn't just serve drinks, but we did find one at the end that was happy to just serve drinks. The square was smaller than I anticipated but the river walk, the iron bridge, boat trips, and bars along the river were amazing, really welcoming and buzzing with music and people, such a great atmosphere. I visited for a long weekend and spent each evening beside the river. The shops had a good range of souvenirs as well as practical items, and no matter where we went out who were spoke to, everyone was so friendly, informative and welcoming, even with my very poor attempts at speaking German.
Cara M — Google review
New old town was an interesting walk through. Has some nice little shops and cafes, as well as some churches and historical buildings. We didn't have a plan for anything to do while here, so it was an enjoyable walk.
Ryan B — Google review
It’s nice that they could reconstruct the old town. However I think they could’ve brought back more buildings, the old town is small, but it is cute. Just a shame they didn’t make it bigger, but it’s still nice.
Tadeusz G — Google review
Cool area to explore, the architecture is great. One of the only areas in Frankrurt that isnt covered in Graffiti. Police actually patrol here, which is rare elsewhere in Frankfurt.
Nick W — Google review
We loved the history, the shops, the food, the people and the view!! Our trip was shortened by some rain, but we enjoyed strolling through the streets and chatting with the shop owners. We had café and sweets, bought so.e wine to take home and some special soaps. We found mustard and jelly to take home as well as chocolates!!
Robert R — Google review
A well laid out area full of restaurants adn cafes in the town centre and through the back streets. Its worth a visit for a few hours especially the church and the museums

American restaurant
Step into the Wild West at Phantasialand, where you can experience over 50 attractions, captivating shows, and diverse international dining options. This American-themed burger joint in Frankfurt offers a hip ambiance and generous portions of delicious burgers with unique toppings. Visitors praise the friendly service and recommend trying their cocktails during happy hour. Additionally, a first-time visitor to Frankfurt enjoyed a satisfying Wild West fish platter at another restaurant while praising the quality of beer and cocktails.
1st time in Frankfurt. My husband got a dunkel beer he said, it was really good. I had the mai tai it was not too overly sweet and not to strong, it was a perfect combination. Good seafood. Ordered the Wild west fish platter and it was just enough, not overwhelming where you're too full and have to get a to go box. It was satisfying. I would definitely go back again.
Lisset V — Google review
American themed burger restaurant with a hip vibe and a cool atmosphere. The burgers are excellent big, thick and juicy. Great attentive service. Will come back
PaulS — Google review
I can’t understand the good reviews because I was very disappointed with my “pulled chicken steak fries” because it wasn’t pulled chicken! Just tiny small chicken breast squares…What a lie! The garlic buffalo wings weren’t great either (7,90 Euro for 5 pieces) - I am certain it was frozen wings with their own garlic sauce but it has no buffalo sauce taste whatsoever. Not American at all.
A — Google review
Absolutely awful. Service was slow. Waiting staff inattentive and quite frankly didn’t care. Food was dreadful. Table was booked for 8pm. We didn’t get some of our drinks for over an hour, we’re only talking beers and some fruit juices. Our starters took 2 hours to come!! Then only some came and let’s just say a few nachos thrown on a plate with a couple of fried items (no onion rings ) on the finger assortment left us speechless. The photo demonstrates this. The main courses did follow fairly quickly and the steaks and burgers were reported to be OK but the salmon was probably one of the worst restaurant dishes I’ve eaten with a disgusting sauce. We also had to chase some of the extras we’d ordered. There was no concern or care from the waiting staff, there just was no urgency. Certainly will be removing this from our list of go to places to eat.

Truly good burger joint in the centre of Frankfurt, deserves at least 4.3 points. Service was friendly, caring, and timely. Drinks were a pleasant surprise, given that we enjoyed cocktails during happy hour. Portions were big and burgers tasty, with interesting additions (although patty was a bit dry). Definitely recommend it, if you’re into good old American food.
Stanislav N — Google review
Visited here New Year’s Eve with a party of 5. Nice and early, 8pm for dinner and drinks, it wasn’t busy whatsoever. Unfortunately we received the WORST service we’ve ever had from a restaurant, even the worst since we’ve been visiting Europe for 3 weeks. I’ve heard customer service isn’t a huge priority in Germany/Europe but this place took it to another level. We think the “waitress” was one of the owner’s girlfriends or something because her skills were non-existent and she looked like she was being forced to work in order to keep all the money from a lucrative busy night…she was miserable. She Never checked if we needed new drinks, or asked if our food was okay…she didn’t bring napkins after being asked twice and didn’t clear dirty appetizer dishes for 45 minutes! Entrees were decent tasting but cold. The best part was the wine and after we realized how bad the place was, we just chalked it up to a joke and laughed about it all night. Some other Manager-guy was sitting up front eye-balling everyone while he puffed his vape, but he didn’t lift a finger to help any guests or anything. Guests would come sit down in empty tables near us, and after 10-15 minutes when the Super-Waitress wouldn’t come to see/acknowledge them they would get up and leave, sick of waiting and that happened 3 times and it wasn’t even busy. Based on our experience this night, I would not recommend this place.

Skyline Frankfurt City boasts one of the most impressive skylines in Europe, earning it the nickname "Mainhattan." After World War II, Frankfurt became the provisional capital of West Germany and was crucial to its reconstruction. The city's airport offers a free shuttle service called SkyLine for easy terminal transfers. Visitors can enjoy stunning sunset views and aesthetic skyscrapers from rooftop vantage points. Overall, it's a brilliant and lovely experience to explore this beautiful cityscape.
The reviews were right, this place really is the best way to view the skyline from outside! Maybe a mini picnic too! Just be sure to bring cold clothes - the wind is really strong here in colder weather

Frankfurt's skyline is a mesmerizing blend of modernity and tradition. Dominated by sleek skyscrapers like the Commerzbank Tower and the European Central Bank, it stands as a testament to the city's status as a financial hub. Amidst these towering structures, the historic Römer and the majestic Frankfurt Cathedral add a touch of old-world charm. Whether viewed from the banks of the Main River or from the top of the Main Tower, the skyline offers a breathtaking panorama. 🌇

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Wow---PHOTO OP MUST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a perfect vantage point to take pictures of the financial district , the old city and the lovely Main River. Bring your Camera or phone and get ready to snap away Alte Brücke (German: "old bridge") is a bridge in Frankfurt, Hesse, Germany. It is the oldest bridge over the lower course of the river Main, and until 1886 was the only stone bridge crossing the river. From the Middle Ages until the year 1914, it connected the "Fahrgasse" in Frankfurt Altstadt with the "Brückenstraße" in Sachsenhausen. Since its first mention in official documents in 1222, the development of Frankfurt has been strongly influenced by the bridge. Over the centuries, Alte Brücke has been destroyed and reconstructed at least 18 times. With its 13 brick-built circular arches, the Sachsenhausen Bridge was one of the most prominent buildings of the city, but failing to meet the increasing demands of the modern road and ship traffic, it was demolished in 1914. The current Alte Brücke, sometimes called "Neue Alte Brücke" (German: "new old bridge"), was inaugurated on 15 August 1926 by then-Lord-Mayor Ludwig Landmann. Two of its originally eight red sandstone-lined vaults were blown up by German soldiers on 26 March 1945. After an initial provisional reconstruction, the middle part of the bridge was replaced by a steel through truss bridge and placed in operation again on 15 September 1965. In 2006, the Alte Brücke received a new porticus, which resembles a watermill that had historically been present at the bridge. Today, the view of the bridge is characterized by four portal walls at both sides of the bridge's middle part. These have been built in the course of a complete renovation in 2014. Landmarks of the Alte Brücke are the "Brickegickel" and a statue of Charlemagne, mythical founder of the city. Handicap doable and recommended Restrooms at restaurants on either side of the bridge. Final take---A Frankfurt must see for anyone wanting a picturesque overview of the city

Unaffordable to miss. The easiest accessible place to watch the skyline of frankfurt. The time for photos due to the light is in the morning till lunchtime due to the position of the sun. Clearly recommended!

Maybe you feel like a little bit walking on the Brooklyn bridge from Brooklyn to Manhattan. But just a little bit.
Cemal K — Google review
Frankfurt at night is pure magic — and there's no better way to take it all in than from one of the city’s bridges, like the Eiserner Steg or Ignatz-Bubis-Brücke. As the sun sets and the city lights flicker on, the skyline transforms into a breathtaking display of glowing skyscrapers, shimmering reflections on the Main River, and the perfect blend of old and new architecture. From the bridge, you get a postcard-perfect view of landmarks like the Commerzbank Tower, Main Tower, and the elegant European Central Bank building. Their lights dance on the water, and the atmosphere is peaceful yet electric. You’ll also see the contrast of Frankfurt’s historic Altstadt on one side, with the glowing modern skyline on the other — a rare and beautiful combination. The walk is calm and romantic, ideal for couples or anyone looking to soak in the city's energy after dark. Bring your camera — the night views are unforgettable. Whether you're a tourist or a local, a nighttime walk along Frankfurt's river bridges is something truly special. 🌉🌃✨

Marc O'Polo is a brand known for its pleasant shopping experience and high-quality clothing. The stores have friendly salespeople and a welcoming customer support. The atmosphere in the shops is praised, making it a favorite shopping destination for many. In addition to clothing, there are opportunities for pony riding in some locations, adding an extra dimension to the overall experience.
I have never experienced such a welcoming customer support. Although the brand is not what I wear in my personal life, I decided to buy a shirt and I was amazed by the tranquility and kind customer experience!

(Translated by Google) I have been working in the fashion industry for over 10 years and also worked in retail when I was starting out. No store can or should afford the service I experienced here (Saturday, June 14, 2025). This is no offense to Marco Polo as a brand, but pay attention to your sales staff. The store is in the middle of Frankfurt and the employee in the store was neither friendly nor helpful - on the contrary, for the first time in my life I had the impression that there was even a hint of racism here, and I normally NEVER get that impression. We were more than adequately dressed and prepared to buy certain items, but we immediately sensed that we were not welcome and preferred to shop next door at COS. I wouldn't set foot in there again and would rather shop online. Such a shame. Sehr schade.

(Translated by Google) One star would be too much here. We were there for a party, had bought tickets in advance for €15 per person and reserved a table. Arrived there and the first thing: jackets couldn't be handed in. Reason: no longer giving out pieces of paper with numbers. Even though 20 people went out and the numbers could be passed on, the staff didn't want to accept any more jackets. We were willing to pay double the price for the cloakroom, but the employees apparently didn't want to work anymore and called security instead when someone CORRECTLY started arguing. So they stood confined to the dance floor with winter jackets in hand. The mood was then in the basement. When we asked about our reserved table, it was already taken. They didn't understand the principle of "RESERVING" either, even though our name was on the list. So after 30 minutes we were outside again and are now stuck with ticket costs for nothing.
