Kleinmarkthalle is a bustling market hall in Frankfurt, housing over 60 vendors offering a diverse range of groceries, flowers, wine, and prepared foods. It is located close to the famous Zeil shopping street and features 156 stalls open every day except Sunday. Visitors can explore an array of fresh produce including cheese, meat, vegetables, fruit, confectionery, bread, and pastries from the region.
This is a must visit in Frankfurt, It has dozens of independent market stalls offering almost anything food related you can think of. many vendors offer free samples of products so you can try before you buy. Me and my girlfriend brought dried fruits, pineapple and apple, to make this decision the vendor gave us samples of about 10 different products. we also tried several cheeses and meats. this place is even fun to go and browse. prices were reasonable. close to other near by attractions.

On a long layover in Frankfurt, our family stumbled upon a charming local market. It's very much a food-centric spot, with tempting street food everywhere – we just wished we weren't so full! We did find some authentic German honey and beautiful plants. It's a fantastic place to escape the heat, offering a cool indoor experience on a sunny day. My only regret was not finding a souvenir that could survive the journey home in warm weather.
Hisham A — Google review
Kleinmarkthalle is such a fun place to spend a lunch time or afternoon! There’s so many places to get delicious food and drinks and it has a really electric atmosphere! We visited on a weekend and the market was extended to stands outside, which were packed. It is definitely one to expect to be crowded but it was well worth the visit. I would recommend going for drinks so that you can walk around and pick up some deli ingredients for snacks 😋.

An amazing market to make you feel at home whoever you are and from whichever country because your favorite homeland food will be there In Klien market … all countries have kiosk selling their food … it’s amazing how you can travel the whole world in just one place

Lovely market with plenty of fresh meats, fruit, veg with some nice wee cafes and wine bars. Joes delicatessen is definitely worth a visit, gorgeous salami and wine.
Audrey K — Google review
If you want to feel the heartbeat of Frankfurt, look no further than Kleinmarkthalle. This indoor market is a vibrant and bustling hub where locals and visitors mingle, offering a slice of authentic German daily life with an international twist. From the moment you walk through the entrance — a simple but welcoming sign urging you “Auf die Kleinmarkthalle!” — you know you’re in for a treat. The market is alive with the hum of conversations, the aroma of fresh produce, and the dazzling colors of fruits, vegetables, flowers, and baked goods. Inside, the variety is stunning. You’ll find gorgeous cakes and tarts, like the ones beautifully displayed here: crumbly Streuselkuchen, glossy strawberry tarts, and towering cheesecakes dusted with powdered sugar. Each looks homemade, hearty, and utterly irresistible — perfect for a midday treat or a sweet souvenir. Further down the lanes, stalls burst with fresh produce: juicy strawberries, brilliant red currants, exotic fruits, and an impressive display of white asparagus (Spargel), a true German spring delicacy. Fresh mushrooms and artisan products add to the rich variety, and everything is beautifully laid out, making it a pleasure just to browse. The layout of the hall is practical yet charming. Upstairs, there’s a mezzanine where you can get a bird’s-eye view of the market’s bustle below — a sea of stalls and colorful canopies. Small eateries and cafés are scattered around, perfect for taking a break and sampling the local flavors. One charming find is Mathilda, a stand advertising homemade brownies and tarts, with a playful chalkboard encouraging you to “Eat cake!” — sound advice when surrounded by such delicious temptation. Navigating the market is easy, with wide aisles and a relaxed vibe that invites slow wandering. Despite its central location, Kleinmarkthalle retains a sense of local authenticity — it’s not just a tourist attraction but a beloved part of Frankfurt life.
Clifton P — Google review
Small market, similar to markets in major cities in USA and Canada. There is a small old German woman run shop near entrance called "SCHREIBER" She sells boiled sausages had the.mix pork and beef & yellow sausage pretty good. And another store on same side but opposite end is "GREF- OoLSINGS" had a fried pork patty with vegetables and herbs mixed in between bun and mustard very tasty and cheap.
Rajeevkumar S — Google review
We came to look around and enjoy the overall atmosphere of the market place. Lots of different stalls to try and plenty of places to sit and enjoy food and drinks. It was busy when we visited but not too crowded (weekday, afternoon).

The Städel Museum is a renowned art gallery in Frankfurt, Germany, featuring an extensive collection of European art from the Middle Ages to the present day. It is one of the must-see attractions in the city, offering visitors a journey through seven centuries of artistic expression. In addition to Städel, Frankfurt boasts other cultural institutions such as MMK for modern art, Liebighaus for sculpture, and Schirn for modern and contemporary exhibitions.
It is nice museum with multiple floors, famous art, and contemporary selections as well. We have spent the whole day. Toilets are nice and clean. The person at the first place before stairs was very informative and friendly 💐👍😀. Lockers are nice and have 1 or 2 € deposit. Roof top was nice. Strongly recommend seeing this museum 👌. It is a bit expensive though, 16 € per person.
Ahmet T — Google review
this is definitely a museum that you should take the time to see. They have three floors a various artist and art. It’s quite pricey. It’s €18 per person which I find expensive. entrance. People at the cashier were very nice. They were helpful. They also have bathrooms which were very clean a gift shop they also had a small café with a lovely young lady behind it who could speak English I’m always happy when that happens since I don’t speak German and I ordered a piece of the apple pie which she recommended and it was delicious and a cup of cappuccino. It’s a nice way to spend 2 to 3 hours enjoying the beautiful art.
Harriet M — Google review
Was skeptical it would be worth the 16 euro entry fee but for what you get, the price is reasonable or even cheap. The sheer scale of this place and the range in its collection is mind boggling. Beautifully curated. Temporary exhibition that was on at my time of visit was also very thought provoking. Exhibits range from religious paintings to contemporary paintings to sculptures to photographs and multimedia. I almost missed the underground exhibits but 100% make it a point to stop by. The modern experimental art is incredible (funded by various German institutions I believe). Genuinely could spend hours there. You can casually see famous artists works displayed. Lovely staff as well. 10/10. That’s how you do an art museum!!
Niko C — Google review
Had a nice experience and spent my time well. There was Carl Schuhe collection when I went and I really like it. Also went up to the rooftop and saw the city skyline. The cafe is also cozy and has good collection of cakes. 18 EUR well spent.
Sanchita S — Google review
Amazing museum with an incredible collection! You can see works by Rembrandt, Kandinsky, Bosch, and many others - really fascinating to explore! The contemporary art floor is also super interesting, full of creative and thought-provoking pieces. Everything is well organized and beautifully displayed. A must-visit for anyone who loves art! Also discount with Frankfurt ticket.
Freya N — Google review
Amazing collection of Classical, contemporary & Modern works of art. Easily able to spent 3 hours there. Also the view of Frankfurt skyline was very impressive. Didn't have to go to the Main Tower for it.
Josie B — Google review
An overall pleasant space surrounded by beautiful architecture, artistically designed staircase leading up to the rooftop terrace, overlooking the River Main and Frankfurt’s skyline. Stadel didn’t seem to have as many star attractions as some of the larger museums, but Schuch and French Art exhibition was an interesting theme. I downloaded their app to see if that would work as an audio guide, but it unfortunately didn’t work.
Ian K — Google review
This large art collection is heavy on the old masters with northern and Italian renaissance masterpieces on the second floor. A new addition of stairs taking you up to the roof makes for a nice pause to take in the views across the river before you continue discovering the art in the rest of the floors.

Located in the lively city of Frankfurt, Goethe House is the birthplace and childhood home of the renowned writer and politician Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Visitors can take a tour of this historical house featuring period interiors and exhibitions. The house offers a glimpse into Goethe's life, allowing guests to explore the rooms where he wrote his famous works. The collection includes original manuscripts, artwork, and personal belongings.
One of the must-visit tourist attractions in Frankfurt because it offers a deep insight into the life and times of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Visitors can explore the rooms where Germany’s most famous writer lived, see authentic furniture, and learn about his early inspirations. A great place for literature and history lovers.

Historic Site of Goethe's House where he was born and spent his young life. Multiple languages available for explanation on items displayed through an APP. I recommend you bring your headphone/bluetooth. Tickets are €12 per adult. They have a family rate. You need to be able to walk up and down stairs a lot. Enjoyed the visit as I do admire his life.
Sung K — Google review
Combination of two museums under one roof: historic birthplace of Johann van Goethe and museum of German romanticism. Striking difference between meticulously restored residence of the poet with attention to details and period’s furniture and modern part of romanticism museum. If you are short on time, Goethe’s old house is a must and also first floor with paintings of the other museum.
Mike Z — Google review
Fascinating museum with great renovations! The house looks beautiful inside. They give you a map, which makes it super easy to explore each room. There’s also an upper museums with lots of interesting exhibits and interactive things to see. Definitely worth visiting! You can get a discount with the Frankfurt Card.
Freya N — Google review
Visiting the Goethe House was such a great experience—it truly feels like stepping back in time to see how Goethe lived. Every corner of the house is filled with history: the kitchen displays old dishes you may have never even heard of, the games they played are still there, and the architecture and atmosphere are unforgettable. Even the smell carries a sense of the past. I wish homes like this were still being built today, but sadly times have changed. We only had a short layover in Frankfurt, and since it was on a quiet Sunday, visiting here was absolutely worth it.
Soraya L — Google review
Much more to this museum than we expected! Wonderful restored home with period furnishings and original artwork. Descriptions were in both German and English so we could understand and enjoy it fully. Don't miss this when you are in Frankfurt!
Jenny C — Google review
Nice place to visit in Frankfurt. The house is well kept and gives a glimpse of Goethe’s life. Not too big, easy to explore in about an hour. Worth a stop if you enjoy history and culture 🏠📚
Supanee K — Google review
Had a 12 hour layover and decided to visit this museum. It was money well spent and an afternoon of delight stepping into every room and space of Goethe history! I love the old grandfather clock that still works and the chime thrills through the house of Goethe, standby every half hour. We kept missing it. Piecing together the story of Joseph in one of the rooms was therapeutic esp for someone who doesn’t speak or read German. Thank God for google translator. The visit has a calming effect like as though I was brought back in time. The large glass frontage featuring the garden offered two perspectives. One from the front and the other from the inside looking out. After all isn’t the arts about perspective?? There’s a cool and ancient water fountain that I manage to refill my water bottle. It was refreshing to drink from the tap and the charge of 24€ for two person was well worth the ticket price. We got more than what we paid for. There was also a special corner where I could place a music score on a special device where I could listen to narration of the music composition by Robert Schumann and actually listened to the music being played. It was interactive and amazing. Love the modernity without compromising the beauty of historical arts and the subtlety of tech being used. Totally awesome!! For those with bags in tow rest assured there is proper storage for you to be hands free. Storage is free.

Alte Oper is a historic opera house in Frankfurt, originally opened in 1880 and reconstructed after World War II. It offers classical concert programs and stands as one of the city's cultural landmarks alongside other attractions like Romerberg, Romer, Archaeological Museum & Garden, and Frankfurt Cathedral. The city also boasts a vibrant cultural scene with venues such as Schirn Kunsthalle and the German Architecture Museum.
Visiting the Old Opera House in Frankfurt was truly a magical experience. As I approached the building, I was immediately struck by its grand architecture – the intricate details, the grand columns, and the way it majestically stands against the modern skyline. It felt like stepping back in time to an era of elegance and classical beauty. Inside, the atmosphere was equally enchanting. The acoustics were incredible, and whether it’s a concert or just a casual visit, the ambiance transports you to a world of music and art. I couldn't help but admire the beautiful chandeliers and classic interior design, which add to the timeless charm of the place. Overall, the Old Opera House is a must-see in Frankfurt, whether you're an opera enthusiast or simply looking to experience a piece of the city's cultural heritage. I highly recommend adding it to your itinerary!

First time entering this gorgeous building and it didn't disappoint. The staff were friendly and available , the auditorium spacious and acoustically good. You do need to take out a bank loan for a drink at the interval but all in all a great place for a show
ScooterVonHootananny — Google review
The Frankfurt Opera is without question one of Europe’s finest cultural treasures. From the moment you step inside, you feel the blend of tradition and modernity that makes this house so unique. The acoustics are outstanding – no matter where you sit, the sound is rich, balanced, and powerful, allowing every detail of the orchestra and singers to be fully appreciated. The productions are consistently world-class. The repertoire strikes an impressive balance between beloved classics and bold contemporary works, offering something for both seasoned opera lovers and newcomers. Stage design, lighting, and direction are often daring and innovative, yet always respectful of the music and story. The orchestra performs with extraordinary precision and warmth, and the ensemble cast is among the strongest in Europe, with many performances easily rivaling those in Vienna, Berlin, or Milan. The experience is not only about the performance itself. The atmosphere in the foyer is elegant but not pretentious, with a welcoming feel that makes the evening special. Staff are professional and helpful, from ticketing to ushers, contributing to a smooth and enjoyable visit. The venue is also centrally located, making it easy to combine a performance with dinner or a walk through Frankfurt’s lively city center. Overall, the Frankfurt Opera offers an unforgettable experience that sets a high bar for musical and cultural excellence. Whether you are a devoted opera enthusiast or simply curious about the art form, a visit here is absolutely worthwhile.

St. Paul's Church, also known as Paulskirche, is a significant redbrick church in Frankfurt that serves as a memorial to the beginning of German democracy. It has been repurposed to host concerts and exhibitions. The original construction began in 1789, coinciding with the French Revolution. The church was where the first freely-elected legislative body in Germany, the Frankfurter National Assembly, convened in 1849.
Another unmissable place in the heart of Frankfurt. A spot for the first German parliament I can recommend the church to be visited. On the lower floor is a very interesting digital exhibition about the history of the building. The main room, the planery hall can be found on the upper floor. No entrance fee, recommended to go for it!

St. Paul’s Church in Frankfurt is a symbol of German democracy. Although no longer used as a church, it now hosts exhibitions and serves as a memorial site, offering great insights into German history. Definitely worth a visit.
KY W — Google review
St. Paul's Church has come to symbolize German democracy since the first German parliament took place here in 1848 and 1849. The church itself was designed by Johann Andreas Liebhardt (1713-1788). It was rebuilt after World War II by the prominent German church architect Rudolf Schwarz (1897-1961). On the outer wall of the church, there are numerous monuments including for John F. Kennedy (who spoke in the church in 1963), Theodor Heuss, Friedrich Ebert, and Carl Schurz, among others. The church is used for the annual award of the peace prize of the German book trade association. You can see its numerous illustrious award recipients on two plaques on the inside of the church. The main room is decorated with the flags of the German states.
Nils P — Google review
St. Paul’s Church in Frankfurt is a historically significant landmark renowned for its role in German democracy. It is a former Protestant church used as a national assembly hall. The church is particularly celebrated for hosting the first freely elected German parliament in 1848. The church's neoclassical architecture, with its impressive circular nave and red sandstone facade, adds to its visual appeal. Inside, the spacious and serene interior provides a contemplative atmosphere. However the interior is very basic, so you could skip it unless you participating in some event.
Leo G — Google review
Magical place with stunning architecture! Not crowded, so we had a chance to look around and enjoy every piece of the scenery

Not bad. Has a phenomenal 'meeting room' and there is a nice mural inside along with historical information. But nothing much else. Outside, the architecture is very striking and worth a look.

The tower now houses a restaurant serving global cuisine, a cozy lounge, and outdoor seating. Located in Frankfurt's LGBTQ+-friendly area known as Bermudadreieck, it is surrounded by some of the best gay bars in the city.
Me and my friends had a wonderful dinner here! The Flammkuchen was absolutely delicious – we tried both the vegan option and the salmon prawn seafood one, and both were incredibly flavorful and perfectly prepared. The beer selection was excellent and hit the spot. Beyond the amazing food and drink, the staff was incredibly nice, providing great service throughout our meal. The atmosphere was truly fantastic, making for a really enjoyable evening. It was totally worth it, and we definitely plan to visit again soon!

Good food. Burgers, salad, bruchetta, champions all tasty. However, the humus seemed to be from a family pack / super market. Inside the restaurant was a bit too cool. The winter garden is smoking area with some hot spots. For parking choose a parking garage nearby. No toilet for wheelchairs.

Great landmark location directly at the Eschenheimer Turm/Eschenheimer tower. The restaurant is in the Eschenheimer tower, with great sitting space outside. The historic significance , built in the 1400s adds value to the space. Recommend the burger and fries, friends had the flame and seafood they also loved it. Opens until past midnight so available foe a late meal too.

Thought this was going to be a tourist trap with overpriced average food. How wrong was I? The best beyond meat vegan burger ever with side of fries dusted in paprika served on a brioche with mayo and ketchup on the side. It's in a historic tower in the middle of Frankfurt. The toilets are up the tower, so make sure you've got plenty of time. A really great experience.

During my stay in Frankfurt lastJune, I discovered near my hotel a lovely Coffee-Bar-Restaurant called Eschenheimer. Very good dishes with courteous and professional service. I chose the place to be my home restaurant so I had the chance to taste several dishes ... and each dish was a bingo! Meat, seafood, pizzas, interesting salads ... and great beers. i arrived to Frankfurt once again few days ago and I’m dining there almost every day lunch or dinner. I enjoyed being there on June and I’m happy to be there again this week !
עופר צ — Google review
Great place for a cocktail. Happy hour until 22:00. Be warned though the toilets are at the top of the tower! Service is quick and friendly. Prices are reasonable. There’s a cocktail happy hour 18:00-22:00 with many offered at a reduced price of €9.50. Didn’t have food but what other guests had looked good.

Fantastic place to enjoy some drink after dinner. There are many tables outside (blankets are provided for those who suffer cold) and the bar is inside a tall tower you can easy spot from the neighborhood. Sound strange, but I suggest you taking some time to "visit" the toilet that on the 1st floor of the tower (take care of the stairs if you enjoyed too much drinks)
Enrico P — Google review
This restaurant has something very special, is inside and around a tower which was build around the year 1346, the tower was used to protect the city at that time, today this tower at Frankfurt downtown and you can test great international food. Inside the tower, the space is reduced and there is space for the bar and few tables but as mentioned previously around the tower they have tables too, either you want to enjoy good food inside or outside the atmosphere of the place is really nice. What not everybody know is that in this restaurant if you have a bigger event or special occasion you can make a reservation of what they call „Kaminzimmer“ this place is at the top of the tower and has much more space and is really nice to enjoy your drinks and food at the top of the tower. The food that I recommend is the one on hot stones, I love the stakes, prawns or chicken but they have great salads, pasta, pizza, etc. for drinks as well they have a big selection of wines and cocktails. On regards price i think you pay for what you get that is a great experience, moment and good food and drinks. The staff is friendly just in crowded ours somethings you need to wait a little bit to get serve. If you are near to Frankfurt and you are looking for a special place where to enjoy good food and drinks don’t hesitate to visit the Eschenheimer Turn restaurant you will like it.

The Old Jewish Cemetery in Frankfurt am Main has a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages, with the oldest surviving gravestone from 1272. Despite being impacted by the Nazis and bombing during World War II, it remains a significant site with fewer than 200 well-preserved tombstones. Adjacent to the Museum Judengasse, the cemetery's wall serves as a poignant Holocaust memorial.
The gate is locked … pick up a key from the museum and leave ID as a deposit I walked around the block twice looking for the entrance before learning I needed a key for the gate

The old Jewish cemetery in Frankfurt. Close the Museum Judengasse. The wall of the cemetery has been converted into a very moving memorial for the Holocaust. Don't miss the memorial for the Börneplatzsynagoge which was destroyed by the Nazis during Reichskristallnacht in 1938 (and previously depicted in a famous painting by Max Beckmann which you can see at the Städel Museum).

Definitely one of the nicest parks in Frankfurt! Being a blanket and some friends, walk your dog, join a sports group, go for a run, hang out with other parents by the playground :) Gets a bit loud and wild on the weekends, and it helps to like humans as the nearby university brings quite a few of them :) there’s also a fenced in dog area and some nice quiet corners to find. If you dare, come during sundowns around summer solstice where the fireflies migrate here from the neighboring botanical garden to work their magic on you ;)

NEERAJ J — Google review
Grüneburgpark is one of Frankfurt’s largest and most cherished parks, located in the Westend district. Spanning approximately 29 hectares, it serves as a peaceful urban oasis offering residents and visitors a perfect blend of history, nature, and recreation. The park’s name stems from the “Grüne Burg” (Green Castle) that once occupied the area in the 14th century, connecting the modern green space to centuries of local heritage. Historical Background and Design Grüneburgpark’s origins trace back to the medieval period but truly took form in the 18th and 19th centuries. In 1789, banker Peter Heinrich von Bethmann Metzler acquired the estate and commissioned the design of the initial park. In 1837, the renowned Rothschild family purchased the property, erecting a palace-like mansion inspired by the French Loire castles. They brought renowned landscape architect Heinrich Siesmayer to reshape the grounds into an English garden style, completed by 1877. This style emphasized naturalistic landscaping with meandering walkways, broad lawns, diverse trees, and picturesque vistas, creating a relaxing and elegant environment. The Rothschild palace was tragically destroyed during Allied air raids in 1944 during World War II. A black obelisk and memorial plaque now mark the site, reminding visitors of the park’s aristocratic past. After the war, the park was expanded and opened as a public green space, where it has become a favorite spot for recreation in the heart of Frankfurt. Natural Beauty and Features Today, Grüneburgpark offers a lush and diverse landscape featuring sprawling lawns, dense shrubbery, mature trees, and winding paths ideal for walking, jogging, rollerblading, and cycling. Visitors enjoy the spacious outdoor areas for picnics, sports, or quiet relaxation amid natural surroundings. It provides a refreshing and accessible nature escape for urban dwellers and tourists. A standout feature is the beautifully crafted Korean Garden, a generous gift from South Korea in 2005 during the Frankfurt Book Fair. The Korean Garden symbolizes the four seasons and features traditional pavilions, reflective pools, and native plants, offering a tranquil and culturally enriching retreat within the park. Grüneburgpark is adjacent to the Botanical Garden of Johann Wolfgang Goethe University and near the Palmengarten, creating a green ensemble that forms one of Frankfurt’s largest continuous natural areas. These connections deepen the park’s botanical and ecological significance. Visitor Experience and Activities Visiting Grüneburgpark is an opportunity to enjoy wide-open spaces, contemporary cultural events, and family-friendly recreation. The park hosts open-air concerts, theatrical performances, and seasonal festivities that bring the community together. Playgrounds and designated picnic areas cater to families and groups, while extensive jogging and cycling paths serve fitness enthusiasts. Numerous benches and shaded spots provide areas to rest, read, or admire the seasonal blooms throughout the park. The cafe housed in a beautifully restored pavilion offers refreshments, enhancing visitor comfort. Accessibility and Location The park is easily reachable by public transport and car, with nearby parking options. It lies between Frankfurt’s new university campus and the Palmengarten, making it a convenient green escape for students and city residents. Paths are generally flat and well-maintained, suitable for strollers, wheelchairs, and varied fitness levels.

Nizza, also known as the Nice Garden, is a picturesque 11-acre city park located on the northern bank of the River Main in Frankfurt. The park features a charming promenade and a café surrounded by lush Mediterranean plants such as palm trees, lemon trees, and fig trees. Thanks to its unique microclimate created by its southern exposure, wind protection from the quay walls, and sunlight reflected off the river, Nizza Garten provides an ideal environment for these exotic plants to flourish.
Great place for picnics and Promenade. The whole area around is very calm, you see a lot of people sitting and relaxing by the river. The Ottmar Hörl sculpture outside the Eurotower celebrates the euro currency, and has become a symbol of the city. The Frankfurt Euro Symbol sculpture was designed by artist Joseph Kosuth and is made of fibre glass.
Such an iconic spot in Frankfurt! The Euro-Skulptur is bright, fun, and great for photos — especially at night when it’s all lit up. It’s right in the city center near the old ECB building, so it’s easy to stop by while exploring. A must-see symbol of Frankfurt and the Eurozone!
Jack F — Google review
They need to fix the monument. All the lights do not work, also it’s close to a very sketchy district of the city so you sometimes feel unsafe in this area too. It’s a cool sign, but its broken lights and surrounding area make it kinda crappy. If they clean up the park, fix the sign and figure out how to help the people around the area then it would be much better

Very dry grass, not green like I’m used to seeing at parks. Play equipment needed some repairs. The climbing thing (jungle gym.) for kids was nice, swings were cool too. All being used. 😦 pretty clean. Felt safe. Wasn’t too exciting.
Valerie B — Google review
I really enjoy spending time in Nidda Park, especially for cycling and running. The wide, flat paths make it easy to get into a good rhythm, whether I’m going for a fast run or a long bike ride. I like how the park combines open meadows with shaded forest areas, which keeps the routes interesting. Being close to the Nidda River also makes the atmosphere peaceful and refreshing. For me, it’s the perfect place to exercise, clear my mind, and enjoy nature right in the city.

The Waldspielpark Scheerwald is a large park with a splash pad, miniature golf, roller skating rink and sports fields for children. It's a great place to spend a day with family or friends, or to relax after a busy day.
Love it, we were grilling there with friends.
Sam T — Google review
A lovely spot right next to forest trails and a football ground. The children's playground is large in area but relatively small in things to do - ping pong table, four swings, a sandpit and a great climbing frame. The waterpark looks great for summer but as my son said, it's flat. There is also an extensive mini golf course and a barbeque zone with toilets (summer only). Quite a large forest parking area in front of the football grounds.

Waldspielpark is very beautiful place to spend half day with kid. Small water games are enjoyed by kids. There is direct bus 48 to Goethetrum. Place has ample parking space for free. There are no entry fee and its absolutely free. Goethetrum and Spielpark are good place to visit with family and spend time. A little crowded during holiday and weekends. Water fun is closed at 6 PM.

Really nice place for families and not only. There are different places where to just sit and relax and also for kids to play around. Also there is a place where to grill with tables, water and toilets. Park is located in the forest. Perfect for biking, running or just enjoying the nature.
Livianna — Google review
Horrible driving for almost an hour to find the place has been closed for a while due to “remodeling” yet still showing open hours. Just read the recent reviews you’ll know, I should’ve done that. Some people there said the water pad has been closed for years and still shows as open. 😡

Christmas Garden Frankfurt is a must-see attraction during the winter season. The event features a magical display of lights spread across a large area, creating the illusion of a huge winter wonderland. While some visitors have mentioned that there aren't many attractions and it may not be worth the entry fee, others have enjoyed the experience, especially if you're visiting for the first time. There's also a Christmas Market at the end where you can purchase gluhwein, snacks, and food to enjoy.
I have read many negative feedback on this, However I still wanted to give it a try. However i went along with my friends and family on 25th itself. If you come by car then There are plenty of place to park near Entry gate you just need to be a little early to reach. Else come by Tram 21 last stop and then 2 mins walking distance from there. Best if you book entry slot of 4.30 PM. Being a first time to Christmas Garden we enjoyed it a lot.It had many good lighting decorations and all the lighting were working. It had few shops as well to refresh and eat. Wonderful experience.
Anand S — Google review
There isn't many attractions and it isn't worth 19€. Have been to a similar event in Köln which is way better than Christmas Garden Frankfurt. Attractions are spread across the large area to create an illusion of an huge event. Many areas around the stadium is just blank. There is a Christmas Market at the end where you can buy glühwein, snacks and some food. Enjoyed the 2hrs spend here. Two parking place are near by. If you manage to reach early you can get a spot at the P8 parking place else at the Waldparkplatz which is 1.5km away. Both places charge you a flat rate of 6€. Walking route from Waldparkplatz to the Christmas Garden is well indicated.

Was a beautiful experience! It's perfect when you go there with family or with somebody you love. The trip will be almost 2 hours with taking photos. You'll have also some cabin from where you can buy drinks/food.
Bogdan C — Google review
Would give no stars if possible. Don’t waste your money, it’s absolutely rubbish, a money-grabbing enterprise. At arrival, we had to pay 8 euros for parking, no way out of it. They have a “family ticket”, but even though we are a family, couldn’t get it because we had no small children with us. The signs point in two different directions, with no explanation. We took the left one and ended up in the saddest Christmas market ever, where we paid full-price to drink mulled wine in an empty, badly-lit, cold hall. When we realized that we took a bad turn, we tried to turn back to see the main event. It was shortly before 9:30pm. A man blocked us, and said that the show and toilets were closed and that we had to leave. When we pointed out that the garden was supposed to close at 10pm, and that there was enough time for us to see the lights, he just said in a very rude manner that we should take a couple of pictures of the lights in front of us and go, that is, they KICKED US OUT at 9:30pm, full 30 minutes before the end and only shortly after we got there. When we tried to point that out, they laughed at us and asked derisively where we were from. My daughter was in tears. Long story short: we paid 120 Euros for 30 minutes of some random lights and to hear some xenophobic abuse from security.
Yagwarete Y — Google review
Absolutely abysmal experience. Arrived at 8:45. Had to pay 8 euros for park and 23 euros per person. So 100 euros for 4 people. Website said it was open till 10pm but we were kicked out by extremely rude staff at 9:20 who left my grandaughter in in tears and didnt let us even use the toilet on the way out. So we never even got to see the main lights in the stadium. From what I saw I personally have better lights in my garden - take your family out to the xmas market or for a nice meal instead of paying to be abused by staff. Please don't give these co artists money.
Alexander W — Google review
Magical display of lights. A must see during the winter season.
Sa H — Google review
Very disappointing experience. First of all, there is not enough parking space on P8 parking lot (which costs actually, 8 euros!), so when we arrived, we were staying around 15 minutes in line before entering this parking lot on car, only to find out that this parking space is full and we have to drive to another parking space (which is 15 min away from the entrance if you go by foot, by the way). Ok, we got to this parking space, it was already almost 30 minutes late. Then we go by foot 15 minutes with small daughter and freezing wind from this parking space to the entrance of this garden. Finally we arrived 45 minutes late. And we were walking around 30 minutes through and didn't find anything interesting there, except on carousel. It doesn't worth 18 euros for each person at all! (By the way, when we got to the entrance, there is one car that was let to drive to the parking space, although others were sent away!)
Anton E — Google review
It is just a disaster. First - price, it just do not worth to pay 20 euros for that. Second - parking +8 euros. Third, half of the route you just walking in the mud. Also had talk with some guard there - very rude. It is not something you expect when you are paying for being there. So, never again.

The station's name 'Main' comes from the city's full name, Frankfurt am Main.
A very big station in Frankfurt is here. It is so close from our hotel, easyhotel. We stopped to this station from Frankfurt Airport. They have different ways to get out. This is the main station of Frankfurt. This is most busiest station in Germany. If you're traveling through or to Frankfurt, it's likely you'll pass through this station. It’s an international hub, with trains not only to destinations across Germany but also to neighboring countries like France, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. The S-Bahn and U-Bahn lines also make it easy to access other parts of Frankfurt. The station is packed with a variety of stores, cafes, and eateries—whether you're looking for a quick snack or a more substantial meal.

It is a chaotic mess at the hauptbahnhof. There are big reconstructions going on. There are no help signs to know where to go. Furthermore in and around the station are lots of homeless people, addicted people hanging around, sleeping on the floor, begging. It is an area to avoid unless you need to go with the train.

Historical landmark
In the heart of Old Sachsenhausen in Frankfurt, you'll find the Frau Rauscher Brunnen, a unique statue depicting a fierce-looking woman holding an apple-wine jug. This sculpture is inspired by the legend of Frau Rauscher, a homeless German lady known for stealing apple wine and spitting at patrons who confronted her. During summer months, the fountain playfully sprays water onto the street, delighting onlookers.
Fantastic chicken schnitzel, beer, and apple wine. Even though we didn’t particularly enjoy our appetizer (low fat cheese with different sauces), the schnitzel was incredible. Definitely a must!

This place has a fantastic selection of authentic German dishes. The atmosphere is lively, with classic decor that adds to the experience. Portions are generous, flavors are spot on, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable for the quality. Service was a little slow at first, but once the food started arriving, everything flowed smoothly. The staff was kind and welcoming, making the experience even better. Definitely a restaurant I’d recommend!

Free tour. Only opens up at specific times of the day. Get to see some official Roman remains that they found after digging up to rebuild various buildings. Was nice to see some of the descriptions in both German and English. Some weren't and had to use Google translate. They even tried recreating what the structures would have looked like in Roman times. Really interested to take a look round
Mike R — Google review
I recently visited the Roman ruins and was disappointed to see that they were not better protected. While it was interesting to see such ancient ruins in the midst of a modern city, the fact that a building had been constructed on top of them detracted from the experience. I would not recommend going out of your way to visit this site, as it is not well-preserved and does not offer a particularly memorable experience.

The Frankfurter Märchenbrunnen, also known as the Fairy-Tale Fountain, is a stunning art-nouveau fountain located near downtown's Willy-Brand-Platz and the Frankfurt Opera. The Fairy Tale Fountain (Märchenbrunnen) is situated at the intersection of Willy-Brant-Plaza and Untermainanlage. It is the work of Austrian sculptor Friedrich Christoph Hausmann and was unveiled in 1910. What you see is a marble nymph in seated position over an Art Nouveau style fountain featuring water-spouting mythical creatures, dolphins and two children playing around a limestone half-shell bowl fixed atop a small base positioned in the centre of a ground level basin into which water spills when the fountain is in operation. It is a lovely fountain monument which was not in operation when we passed by during December. Still nice to view during off-season. This would be a nice fountain to view during the warmer months of the year.

Great urban park, not very big but well kept and very pleasant. The main lawn is big enough for kids to play football while their parents can have a picnic nearby. On the north end, there is a big playground (Spielplatz) for children. I am only missing a park cafe for beverages and snacks (strange that no one started a bike-cafè or something at least, it's always packed with kids and parents on weekends, and after work, and during lunch breaks with employees of the towers). After the last 2 dry summers, irrigation was installed, so no more yellow dry grass 🎉

Beautiful park in English garden style set up by the Rothschilds in early 19th century. The park is complete with "follies" such as the neogothic tower and a beautiful "Ring of Statues" by Georg Kolbe (1877-1947). Read about the tragic history of the park including the expropriation of the Rothschilds in 1938 on the explanatory text facing the Bockenheimer Landstraße.

Nice near city center, clean, quite, great for jogging and walking around. There is a tower there that looks like historical but don't make my mistake: don't go too close because many homeless stay there (at least in summer time) and it smells really bad (pee and God knows what else). But it's only this small part, the rest is really nice and you won't even imagine that the tower was in such state because the park is just super nice, clean and well cared.

An old airport offers a cafe & exhibition space plus space for picnics & idle walks. It's an interesting place with some old airport buildings around and information boards about the history of the old airport. The old runway is great for kids to practice their cycling, roller blading, and skating skills. There's not much to do but it's nice to walk around!

Derelict air strip. Accessible, lacks human scale, is full of potential, but so far mainly used for ecological development. Curious to see where it will go.

Nature & Wildlife Areas
The Schwanheimer Dünen nature reserve is a lovely park with inland sand dunes and wooden walkways running across the meadow landscape. The location is great for a walk or wildlife watching, and it's great for cyclists too as there is more space on the wooden path to give way as pedestrian. Overall, this is an ideal spot for a quick vacation outside of the city centre.
What a beautiful place to relax and take in nature. I was here on a Thursday, and there were almost no other people visiting - I even saw a rabbit 🐇 Just note that there don’t seem to be any benches or other places to really sit down (at least I didn’t come across any).

It's a peaceful place to explore, but it's not very big, so it's easy to always hear roads and leave the preserve. But it is a pretty place, and a nice little detour from just following the Main river. The nicest path is the long boardwalk!

This is a peculiar fountain monument outside the Hauptwache Station that I encountered during a recent visit to Frankfurt. It is the work of Frnziska Lenz-Gerharz (1985) and depicts various characters from a picture book by Frankfurt born Heinrich Hoffmann (1809-94) called Struwwelpeter. The bronze figures are playful, some with spouts that fill a small ground level basin below the sculpture. It is an interesting sculptural fountain to see while sightseeing or shopping in the area.

(Translated by Google) A beautiful fountain in the city center, definitely worth a look if you're ever there. It's definitely a rather detailed statue. Unfortunately, it's usually very noisy at the Hauptwache, and there are no benches, only steps. Hence, one star deduction. (Original) Ein schöner Brunnen in der Innenstadt, kann man sich auf jeden Fall mal anschauen wenn man mal da ist. Ist auf jeden Fall eine eher dateilliertere Statue. Nestled in the vibrant Bockenheim district, Neuer Rebstockpark is a delightful oasis that seamlessly blends old and new trees, creating a picturesque setting for relaxation and recreation. Ost Park, a stunning green oasis in Frankfurt, is the perfect destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Spanning over 32 hectares, this park features picturesque walking paths lined with lush trees and meadows, as well as a charming 4.2-hectare pond known as Ostparkweiher. Opened in 1909, it has become a beloved spot for locals and visitors to unwind.
Nice, spacious park with a small lake and a couple of playgrounds. Good for sports, picnics and there is a Grillplatz so grilling is allowed. It is missing, like so many Frankfurt parks, a park cafe or even better, a Biergarten.
Tomislav Z — Google review
a cozy and well-kept park, lots of birds and squirrels
Tatiana S — Google review
One of the largest parks in Frankfurt, offering something for everyone. There’s a beautiful pond with islands that serve as a habitat for cormorants, plus plenty of other animals and bird species to spot. The park has a huge open area for barbecues and picnics, two large playgrounds, and sometimes even small football goals set up. A kiosk on-site provides drinks and snacks, and the arboretum-like section with trees from all over the world is especially lovely. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to relax and spend time outdoors. Unfortunately, the city made the questionable decision to build a homeless shelter right at the park’s edge, which can make the area feel unsafe in the evenings.
Przemek K — Google review
Nice decent park. Grill zones are at one end, lots of empty field for playing, toilet facilities though could increase in number. Small kids play area is also present All in all a well spent day.
Sayeed S — Google review
In this park, you could take a quiet walk amid the sounds of nature. Great place to miditate and relax.
Anastasia K — Google review
Ostpark is a large, historic public park (32 hectares) in Frankfurt’s east (Ostend). Designed in the early 1900s, it features a scenic lake (Ostparkweiher), wide lawns, wooded areas, playgrounds, sports fields, and a Bürgergarten with herbs and bamboo. ✅ Pros: • Peaceful nature with ducks, swans, and old trees • Perfect for jogging, picnics, football, and family outings • Free entry, open 24/7, and accessible via U7 (Eissporthalle station) • Wheelchair-friendly, good paths and bridges • Educational garden (Bürgergarten) and skyline views ⚠️ Cons: • Goose droppings often litter lawns and paths • Grilling crowds on weekends lead to trash and noise • Occasional presence of homeless or intoxicated individuals 📍 Tip: Visit on weekdays or mornings for a quieter, cleaner experience.
Farhana P — Google review
Public park with big green areas and a couple of playgrounds. The greenery and lake are shared with many ducks, so be careful with their depositions (mostly around the lake). Great for a walk and for running around with ducks 😅😜. Recommended if you are looking for a peaceful place to read or wander around.

Park
Brentanopark is a delightful green oasis that beautifully separates the surrounding residential neighborhoods, offering ample space for relaxation and recreation. Whether you're looking to jog along the river, engage in various sports, or simply enjoy some fresh air with your family at the playground, this park has it all. On weekends, it can get quite busy—especially around the popular artificial swimming pool designed for summer fun—but it's a fantastic spot for families.
Very clean, large area, with a lot of trees and a public swimming pool. There is something for everyone, volleyball courts, table tennis tables, smoking and non-smoking zones, beach café with sand, pastry shop, ice creams and various cafes, snacks, large and clean toilets, changing rooms and locker rooms, slides. The water in the pool, although there were a lot of people, is still clean, the pool is made so that the water is shallow at first, so gradually the depth rises to 1.8 m, showers around the pool.... The ticket price for the whole day is 5 euros, draught beer 4.5 euros. A large number of security guards are present, as well as rescuers, doctors... A pool for every recommendation...
Boris A — Google review
This park nicely splits the neighboring residential areas and provides a huge area to spend quality time. Good for doing a run next to the river, doing other kinds of sports, playing on the playground with the kids or just to take in the fresh air. Shops and buffets nearby. It may get busy and the people with bikes may be a bit annoying, but all in all it's a good place to relax. It's especially special if you live nearby and want to be more in the green.
László J — Google review
Crowded. Loud. 3 kids per adult. No gastronomical offer..... It's okay for a splash but it's not a great experience. If you wanna have a good time go to Pinta Beach instead.

If you want to swim , it is perfect place to go. The swimming pools are for all ages. The park is gorgeous. There are a lot of biking and walking trails.

Very nice place for kids in the hot summer. All types of pools and the huge surface area for the shallow pools make it ideal for babies and small kids.

Loved playing Chess with my Mom, and walking through the Rose Garden. 3 Stars because the bicycle people almost hit us, too many bicycling people, you have to watch out that they don't drive into you.
