I booked the Day Fresh Tour which was approximately 1.25 hours and gave a great overview of the beer making process, brewery history, tour of their famous Clydesdales and history of their relationship with the brewery. As an appetizer, one of us enjoyed their French onion soup, and the rest of the table sampled the escargot, which were swimming in a decadent butter sauce. Generous chunk of beefs in a rich sauce, surrounded by luscious carrots and potato puree. My son opted for the Bistro Steak, which came out exactly as he'd ordered it with crispy steak fritters. I ordered the duck confit which was amazing! The skin was wonderfully crips and salty and the duck meat was tender and flavorful. We ordered a couple of desserts - the profiteroles (four small ones that came with miniature gravy boat of chocolate sauce for pouring-over) and the chocolate mouse. And they threw in their floating island dessert, topped with a birthday candle for my son! I can't say enough about the caring and warm service. The request we made with our reservation for a corner table at the back was granted because one of our party has some hearing issues. The location made it so much easier to talk with one other in the bustling, high-energy space. When our entrees were delayed, the manager made sure to come over to see what else she could provide as we waited and our waitress expedited our order. Even though it looked like the place was at capacity and there were other establishments nearby, we found a good amount of pay-to-park (Park Mobile) street parking, just two-minute walk further up the street. It’s so good! We came to town for a concert and love farm to table restaurants so we got reservations here. When I think family style, I envision a vat of food that each person has to scoop onto their plate (like Bucca de Peppo or Stroud's) so I would never have chosen that if the server didn’t explain it better. The first and second course had multiple dishes. It was more of a tapa style tasting menu. Absolutely fabulous! I am floored that it was only $80 a person for that much food. We love to go to different tasting menu options in Kansas City and I can tell you, none of them are only $80. We were stuffed when we were done (which isn’t always the case w tasting menus) so it was WELL WORTH IT! The food was so good. I’m still thinking about the lovely carrot and pesto starter. My wife liked the interesting vegetable twists on her cocktails, like a smoked celery martini and a sweet pepper old fashioned. I had heard of Vicia through the STL magazines and the James Beard Foundation, so I had high hopes. Luckily our experience lived up to the hype. This allowed us to sample a lot of the dishes and not have to think about it. Our initial introduction was quite awkward and unwelcoming. It set the tone for a dinner that made us feel like we were a bother. Upon walking in one of the servers asked if we had a reservation to which we answered no. She then asked if we preferred to be seated inside or outside. We stated outside and she invited us to sit anywhere we pleased. We sat at a table for four (two small tables put together) since my husband and I like sitting next to each other. The drinks were unique. The one i had, serai, was very good. I lived the addition of black pepper on the rim. The pickled cabbage is hands down the best I've ever had. I would order that by the bucket! The other two meals i had were mediocre. The crispy chicken was fine. But the chicken itself was under seasoned and the breading was too much. It distracted from the amazing herbs and glaze. The breading was initially crispy but began falling off. Id have preferred a lighter maybe cornmeal breading or none at all with a crispy skin. The scallop dish was mediocre as well. Everything was good until i got to the orzo pasta. Pasta was not necessary. It was very starchy/floury? The dish would have made a great appetizer if the lobster curry was lessened and the orzo removed. The mango/scallop pairing was great! The olive oil cake for dessert was very pleasant. Not too sweet. There was a lingering bitterness though but it isn't ruin the experience. Overall I'd try it again but try other dishes to see if the more traditional Malaysian foods are better.

Just bumped into this while searching for south east Asian cuisine on Google. Definitely worth the 4.8 stars that the reviewers have left. Excellent ambience (small but cute and cozy). Delicious food. And awesome service. They reserved a place for us inside (outside is free seating). Helped us through the menu providing great recommendations. The food was great. I loved the chicken as it had just the right balance of crispness and juicy and tenderness. The duck was tender and the ravioli was great. The ice cream was something I never tried before and I liked it very much (plain vanilla with a hint of coconut milk and pistachios). Would recommend anyone to give it a shot and I'll likely visit it again when I am in town.
