Beware that the only parking is street parking and it’s very is limited. We walked right in on a Sunday with a party of 7 and found a table. Waitress was super nice and quick with service. I had the chico plate with a half order of biscuits and gravy. Everything was delicious. The gravy was amazing and tasted a little bit sweeter than normal gravy. Home fries were to die for. The prices were also super reasonable here! The chico plate was only $9.50 with an up charge of $2.50 for the biscuit and gravy. Don’t see those types of prices at restaurants anymore. Nice decor and atmosphere with that farmhouse touch to it. Lots of seating with a combination of booths, tables, and a large bar in the center with plenty of stools if that where you want to sit. The place was not packed, but we still had a 5 min wait so maybe they were short staffed. I had the breakfast sandwich with a side of Buffalo Cauliflower Bites. Unlike most breakfast spot they offered smoked duck breast and veggie sausage as protein in addition to the standard ham, bacon, and chicken sausage. My Wife had the Salmon Sandwhich with a side Roasted Brussels Sprouts. The only gripe she had about her sandwich was they took one piece of salmon and put it on french bread that was way too big for the small salmon. We suggest increasing the size of the salmon or reducing the cut of the bread. Other than removing the top of the bread she enjoyed her food too. I ordered 3 orders, and when someone spends that much money on food, and you run out of something, you know while you are building the order. That's when you stop, ask the paying customer if they'd like a different side, or something in place of it, not bag everything up and tell the paying customer after you hand them the order and you are closing, so there isn't anything to be done about it. Seems like pretty poor business practice and I would expect better service, especially after spending over $70 in their establishment. I likely will not be going back until something is done to rectify this situation and would appreciate if the owner, or general manager would reach out in regards to this. Tons of tables so I wonder how often there is a wait for a seat. I’m always a sucker for places that serve breakfast all day and Golden Oak was no exception. No frills, no Edison bulbs, no shiplap, no qr codes to scan for a menu, and frankly, I'm not even sure if they have a customer restroom. But if you want a bangin breakfast for less than ten bucks, this is your place!! My preferred order is as follows: order of biscuits and gravy, side of hash browns, side of two eggs. Note that they sell out of bacon EVERY day, so if you aren't there before ten, at the latest, forget it. No bacon for you. Regardless, everything I've ever had here has been good. Seating is often limited (don't let the unassuming exterior fool you--they stay busy!) and I recommend ordering to-go. I've never had success with them answering their phone, and I've never seen someone come in for a pickup order. The last time I was there and the phone was ringing off the hook, I heard one of the cooks/waitresses say that they would "start answering the phone around 11."
