We got lots of historical info about the former residents and inmates of the castle/prison. Once you have finished the guided tour you can go back and visit any parts except the tower which you climb first. The gift shop was good and again the staff were really friendly. Alot of the former prison is now a hotel, but you can still walk around the grounds and the old exercise yard. If visiting Oxford a trip here is definitely recommended.
