Out went the Toulouse, the Moroccan lamb and the pork & chilli then, sadly. But opting for a simpler sausage would also allow me to jazz up the overall flavour profile with a suitably exceptional yet complimentary double-act for the accoutrements - if you go wild with the sausage you kind of have to dial back on the other bits, imho. And in a Tzuist display of strategic thinking, I realised that such an approach would help to get a sense of the success of the more outré options so that I would know how avant-garde I could be if we came back; I already had a feeling we might. I know, I know - not really that exceptional-sounding at all. But bafflingly, for someone whose proudest possession is a tea towel exclaiming how much she likes it, Mich won’t have cheese in her mash potato at home, and so I couldn’t not. There were three more giant Cumberlands for Mich, with colcannon and onion gravy. Oh, and sides of pigs in blankets and seasonal greens, cuz why not. Do order both of those.
