We attended Adelaide Oval for the first time, traveling over from Melbourne for the massive Metallica concert on Wednesday, November 5th. Yes! You guessed it—we came for the metal, and the venue delivered on every single front.
For an open-air venue hosting such a huge event, I was immediately impressed by the sheer space and layout. Even though the place was packed and absolutely electric with energy, it was remarkably easy to navigate. The facilities and amenities were great, and every staff member on deck for the concert was professional and genuinely helpful.
What truly stood out was the atmosphere. For a massive stadium show, the space felt surprisingly intimate, and critically, the sound was truly METAL! The acoustics were fantastic, making the live music experience unforgettable. 🎸🎸🎸⚡⚡⚡

Great location and has an excellent atmosphere. Went for an AFL match and made plans ahead of time with friends and got there very early so we could access seats. Use a walker and found challenges. There were many free parks closer to venue but disability was still on lawn and after the rain getting through the mud was difficult. In the venue there was a good size ramp to access seating and there was disabled areas. Lucky we got there early to access. Prices are high, which is expected. Accommodates more for able body people which is discouraging as it often makes it too hard to frequent locations like this. If I didn't have assistance I would not be able to venture here and enjoy.

🏛️Great place for when the weather isn’t good.
I visited the free exhibitions and was really impressed. I loved the part of aboriginal history, as you can learn a lot through different media’s. Maps, videos, auto, games and of course the classic showcase.
The staff were great as well, helpful, efficient and friendly.
I liked the atmosphere, it was quiet and peaceful. It wasn’t full so it was nice to just take your time with the exhibition.
There are plenty of car parks very close to it or you just take the public transport which is also great!
In the museum there is also a cafe, which was full and very popular.
If you are interested in more specific exhibitions then they offer paid admission as well. 25$ to see (currently) the history of the Vikings. I think that’s a pretty fair price.
All in all great way to spend a few hours.

The main museum is free to enter but donations are accepted to help the museum .

After five months of raining since late May 2025 and in this Spring time, I reckoned it is now the best timing to visit Adelaide Botanic Garden to see the flowers and greenery.
It looked like my understanding was correct, as the Adelaide Botanic Garden was really beautiful, much better than what I expected. Everywhere were green and with beautiful flowers. Thanks to the effort of the team especially the gardeners, the garden is well maintained with healthy plants and trees, and beautiful flowers and lawns. They have kept all facilities well like the ponds, wetland, fountains, glasshouses, walkways, fences, toilets, directional signs and function rooms etc. Everything in the garden were tidy, clean and functioning well.
During my visit, there were several weddings events held inside the garden, on the lawns and inside the event centres. No doubt to me here is one of the best wedding venues in Adelaide.
I don't think I have walked-through every corners of the garden yet as it is so big. I will definitely re-visit quite again as it is really a nice and lovely park which is so easy to access. For example, it's good to visit it for a walk in a weekend afternoon and then cross the street to visit one of the lovely restaurants in the East End for an enjoyable dinner.

シドニーの現代美術館にガッカリして、たまたま通って塩田千春展に惹かれ入ってみたら、期待を裏切るキュレーション。
オーストラリアのアーティストの作品もいいし、アカデミーのような館内を新旧取り混ぜて展示している。
陶芸に詳しいキュレーターがいるのか、埴輪はあるし、濱田庄司もある。オマケに信楽と書かれるとそうかな、という茶碗まであり。
アンドレ・ブルトンの部屋から着想を得た展示を見て、これが始まりだし、切り口の違うキュレーションかと納得。
アデレード大学ともつながり、アデレードの町からは想像つかない独自性に、思ってもいなかった発見はここ踊らされると思った。

時間があまりなくざっと回っただけですが、見ごたえのある展示。一つの部屋に様々なジャンルの絵が飾られてました。個人的に印象深かったのはエイズにかかった人の写真でした。アートには色んな形があるなぁと改めて考える時間になりました。
無料なのに立派な美術館。時期によって一部展示作品も変わるので、美術館が好きな人には何度でも行ってほしい。ゆっくりと観光したい人や雨の日の観光にオススメ。
一度行ったことがあるけど、とても楽しかった。

I visited Adelaide Botanic Garden yesterday and passed-by this National Wine Centre of Australia (NWC).
This is a great facility. With a cafe, wine tasting facility and function rooms and big event hall etc. There were several wedding ceremonies held on the lawns of Adelaide Botanic Garden yesterday, I wondered one of the group would probably come to this beautiful big event hall to have a wedding banquet.
I didn't stay long in this NWC yesterday. I would definitely do a formal visit next time and will try their cafe and wine tasting facility.

It’s a shame that the Mortlock Chamber is closed for renovations as I really wanted to see it. The main library had a great exhibition on Holden cars. You can hire for free since small and large meeting rooms here. The National Archives are also here. I do feel that there was a lot of empty for space here though. Adelaide Gaol locates at 18 Gaol Road where is not difficult to drive to.
Compare with other museums, it doesn’t have air conditioning exhibition halls and beautiful interior decorations. However, its real heritage and historical displays are worth enough for us to spend nearly two hours to walk through it (actually, multiple blocks joined together to form this museum).

It was certainly an interesting but eerie visit!
At the time we visited there was only a handful of other visitors so we could explore everything in peace which was nice.
The employees were lovely and helpful. At the entrance we got handed a map with a suggested path to follow to ensure you see everything which was very helpful. There was a lot of exhibits with many stories of past inmates to read. Most of the gaol has been well preserved; many graffiti’s from past prisoners are able to be observed within the cell doors.
Some areas were definitely spooky considering a fair few prisoners have been executed here and are buried within the outer wall.
It was interesting to have seen the gaol once and I would recommend it to others however it is not something I would re visit.necessarily.

We did a waterfall loop through the tunnel which was really nice and to the lower part and then the upper part of the falls. Even though there was no water the views are lovely and we were rewarded with 7 koala spotting and one echidna. Kangaroos and many different types of birds galore. Park is very well maintained with lots of trails, picnic areas, toilets and a playground. It seems to be less busy than Morialta and Cleland which for me was a bonus. The entry fee is $13.50 but you can also park before the entrance and walk in.

Belair National Park is one of my favourite places to visit for a day out in nature. The park is absolutely beautiful, with well-maintained walking trails that suit all fitness levels. There’s so much to explore — from waterfalls and creeks to lovely picnic spots and historic buildings.

Great trails, beautiful scenery and lovely plants and wildlife. We went for the wild flowers and we were very happy. There are lovely orchids growing and all kids of other native flowers. I have mobility issues so the trail we chose (Microcarpa) took quite a lot longer than the 1 hour quoted. However a lot of it was fairly easy to do until we hit a section that was much more undulating. We know for next time though and will probably just do the first half then turn back.

The new barn is modern and high-end, and I found the mini museum quite interesting. Although the strawberry patch was closed today, the café was still bustling with people. As part of our mystery trail experience, we collected our meal base and had a quick browse through the shop before leaving.

We did the Iconic Experience and it was worth every penny. Gigi was our tour guide and she was amazing, and very engaging.

What an outstanding experience. We booked the Penfolds Iconic Tour, which included a guided winery tour, private tastings, and a wine-paired lunch. Climb was fun, informative and entertaining.

A wonderful experience. We did a game day experience which was worth the extra cost for the 2.5 hours. Our guide Hannah was great. All equipment and staff were very thorough to ensure everyone’s safety. We were quickly on the way up and watched half a game of footy from the roof. I received Roof Climb vouchers ages ago and finally got around to doing the experience yesterday.
It was incredible. Having such a small group (only 4 people) and beautiful weather was just perfect and Isaac did an excellent job of running it. He was very friendly, didn't rush us at all, and was incredibly informative. My sister/I were born and raised in SA & attend games at Adelaide Oval frequently, yet there was still so much we learnt about the city and the venue itself.
Absolutely recommend this to anyone considering it (or looking for a great gift)!

Beware of the well hidden, 15% surcharge on the Sunday, written in tiny font on the menu, which wasn't obvious.
For our group of 11 I paid over $50 in surcharges.
Eggs were undercooked and there was shell fragments in it, water wasn't brought to our table until we were all nearly finished eating. Staff were friendly enough, but it was not a great experience.

There is something here for everyone, from old favourites like kangaroos to some lesser-seen critters like capybaras. They were definitely the highlight of our visit, with the recently-born babies stealing many hearts in the audience.

Carrick Hill House was the home of Sir Edward Hayward and his wife Ursula. The estate was built in 1930s. It was bequeathed to the State Government of SA after Sir Edward's death in 1983.

We enjoyed this place very much — there’s so much to learn about railway history!
There’s a great variety of steam and diesel locomotives on display, and everything is very well presented. One of the highlights was the miniature railway that runs around the museum every 30 minutes, which was a lot of fun, especially for kids.

2 weeks ago, we visited National Railway Museum in Port Adelaide on King’s Birthday holiday 2025.
Not disappointed, after parked out the metered outdoor parking lot just opposite to the museum, we walked about only 1 minute to it.
Although it was a national holiday, we didn’t need to wait then could paid for our entry fee (also enjoyed discount with my NSW senior discount card) 👍
There are plenty of historic trains, trackways and carriages to display.

Had the most brilliant tour today! Chelsea and Liam were fantastic, with a really great bank of knowledge and explanation of all the different processes. Everyone got a headset so you could hear Chelsea even when you were in a loud room, which was brilliant. And the tasting after was very generous, we tried so many beers! It was particularly exciting to try some of the smaller brews they’re working on but aren’t going to be offering outside of the tours. At $45 each, it was a great way to spend the day and I’d definitely recommend it to everyone visiting Adelaide!

The Onkaparinga river's a beautiful place to take the kayak out. Just check the tides and wind before you go as high tides best and a strong wind across the water can really spoil your paddle. There's plenty of flora and fauna for an estuary in the suburbs. For the majority of the length of the river you don't notice the hustle and bustle other than the three bridges that cross above as you paddle through to Old Noarlunga. I did the gorge walk - let me tell you, this track is not for the inexperienced, faint of heart, or unfit. It was magical! From the descent into the gorge, to finding your own way along the river, to ascending the gorge - there was something to see and experience at every phase. I personally avoided the tall grass parts of the track due to sighting a few red belly black snakes - opting to climb the rocks to the side. What an amazing concept! The Parklands is a continuous ring of green space surrounding central Adelaide and is comprised of several individually numbered parks with different characteristics (some more stylized, some more pastoral, some more for children/entertainment/sports).
We split up our walk through the Parklands over several days, which I’d recommend. There’s a walking trail loop easily identified by the blue circle markers on the ground (though it can disappear at times and then pop up unexpectedly—good to also follow along on a map or on your GPS). It’s a total of a little over 12 miles (19.5 km) to do the entire loop, but it can be split up in three sections which are easily accessible using the free sections of the Adelaide tram (the northern half above the River Torrens, and then the right lower fourth and then the left lower fourth). Also, it can be combined with sightseeing at many of the spots along the way, which is what we opted to do. Overall, def recommend doing if you’re in Adelaide! Never seen anything like it in any other city I’ve visited.

My 4 kids loved their time at Tree Climb! The older two did the grand course ages 10 & 12 and had a blast! The younger two ages 5 & 7 did the kids course and Miss 5 couldn't have done it without Mr 7 helping her the whole way through get the trolley rope through the tricky parts. It's a bit hard to manoeuvre through for the younger ones. Also a bit of a wait by the time they get their harness on, watch the safety video and get up to the start point. I joined the dolphin watch tour with Temptation Sailing today and it was absolutely fantastic. The crew were genuinely friendly, welcoming, and very knowledgeable about the local dolphin pods — I learned so much from them throughout the trip.
The experience really came alive when the sun came out. Suddenly, the dolphins appeared all around us, swimming so close to the boat. It was such a lovely and surprising moment, and honestly the highlight of my day.

I had an amazing experience with Temptation sailing. We encountered multiple pods of dolphins and got to learn so much about them. Getting in the water with them was a surreal experience. On our last day in Adelaide, my girlfriend and I joined a trip with Temptation Sailing to see wild dolphins — and it turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences of my life.
