I love it here! I came for the autumn festival. It’s a beautiful walk in nature. Would definitely come back for their Christmas event! I would recommend walking shoes, and plan to stay for a few hours. There’s a few cafes you can dine at as well. The Dallas Arboretum was absolutely beautiful and very well taken care of! There’s plenty of space for large groups to walk the trails comfortably. During my visit, there were two weddings happening, and both setups were stunning. The picnic area was peaceful and relaxing the view of the water made it even better. I also loved that they include areas for kids to play and learn, making it a great spot for families too. An employee mentioned that next week the Arboretum will be Christmas themed, which sounds amazing! Every staff member we came across was friendly, checked in with us, and made sure we were having a good time. I absolutely loved my experience here and definitely recommend visiting!

At night with all the decorations is a neat experience. Day visits we’ve seen bald eagles, falcons and all sorts of wildlife out there including coyotes early in the morning streaking through the empty open grass area!

The area seems to be under renovation with nearby apartments being built, so this might be a more welcoming area with permanent local residents in the future. 1-hour parking is enough to check out the river walk and walk on the bridge. I stopped for a nice walk while visiting Dallas from the Midwest and I had a great time. This bridge is iconic in Dallas and it’s a must stop for visitors!
Across the street there is some good food and some good music as well that you can enjoy after your walk & some photo taking!
I did meet a few locals on my walk who were absolutely incredible human beings and they shared some very interesting stories about the area with me.

The shark tank is a fun place for kids and adults seeing shark swim over your head and all around you is mesmerizing and there’s a huge sword fish too. The only thing is the aquarium needs some tender loving care the bathrooms are old and not clean. The whole place needs a face lift, it’s a little dirty and stinky around the edges. The walkway outside between the front entrance and exit is pretty but when you walk through it there’s an overwhelming smell of urine. The whole outside can use a good power wash. I went several years ago when it looked newer and smelled better. The management needs to do a better job with the place. But it’s still worth visiting there are also gorgeous tropical plants.

Planning a destination wedding while being out of town is no small task, but Ali and the entire team at Marie Gabrielle made the process so seamless for us. From start to finish, they were incredibly helpful, flexible, and genuinely excited to bring our vision to life — and they absolutely did.
Let’s talk about the food… because WOW. You don’t usually expect to be raving about wedding food, but our guests are still talking about the steak with chimichurri. Every detail was so intentional, and they gave us so much freedom to make the day our own, while also making sure everything ran like clockwork.
They were so gracious with our vendors, even allowing early load-in, and their team handled every curveball (including the weather) with total calm and care. We had a micro wedding of 40 guests, and every single person was blown away by how stunning the venue looked, inside and out. The drinks were amazing, the bartenders were so kind, and Kevin went above and beyond to make sure the entire night flowed perfectly.

A few details to keep in mind, the French Room is INSIDE the Adolphus hotel, smack dab in the middle of downtown Dallas. Be prepared for traffic and some walking if you dont use their valet service.
Now, for the fun stuff.
I went with 3 other Ladies to celebrate our August birthdays.
This experience was classy. It took me a while to figure out WHY it felt so different from another just restaurant lunch.
1. When I walked into the hotel to get direction to the French room, the desk lady was attentive, made eye contact, was friendly, nor was she on her phone. Now to be clear, seeing workers on their phone never really bothered me, we are addicted to them. But there was something so completely professional about the interaction, it left a positive impact.
2. Same thing once I got to the hostess stand. They were attentive, I was greeted by two individuals who were quick to say 'welcome'. They weren't on their phones and were not surrounded by a glob of waitstaff.
3. It is reservation based. They will not seat you till your whole party has arrived and they give you a 15 min grace period from your reservation.
4. This is dress coded. Business casual. Me and my party all wore dresses. It was fun to see everyone else at other tables dressed up also. It helped make such an elegant atmosphere and helped curate the experience. You went seeing anyone in pajamas.
5. The hotel was built in the early 1900s and was absolutely stunning with plenty of sitting and had a moody vibe. The architecture was beautiful and the French room was open, airy, and had beautiful light.
6. The food was yummy. You might be concerned that it won't be enough food. But I couldn't finish my last biscuit because I was so full. So trust me, it is enough.
7. They added candles to our cakes for our birthday!
8. When it came to the tea, we were given two options. Our server seemed well educated about tea, where it came from, what it would pair well with, and if it would taste well with sugar or/and creamer.
9. While we had a main server, all the waitstaff took care of us. I think there was about 5 on duty, and we interacted with each one. From filling our water, tea, or bussing our table. Our glasses were never empty.
I can go on and on and on.
But this was the best dining experience I have had in a LONG time.

High tea at The French Room had been on my list for years, so my girlfriend and I decided to celebrate Lunar New Year there.
Parking is valet-only in the garage. It is $12 with no validation. Once inside, just take the escalator up and walk straight ahead.
We were seated right away, being the first table there. Our server was quick and attentive, bringing out bubbly, sandwiches, and hot tea as soon as we got settled. We also ordered the caviar flight and smoked salmon mini platter. After the savory bites, we were served sweet pastries.

Today after lunch I visited Trinity River Audubon Center after flagging it in places I want to visit a while ago.
Ten miles South of Downtown Dallas sits the 120+ acre former dumping site of tires, auto parts, trash and other unwanted waste that burned and was repurposed by the City of Dallas to the current iteration. It is now a natural habitat for birds and other wildlife open to the public Tuesday through Sunday 9am-4pm.
The property houses a large main building with educational information explaining the importance of a nature and wildlife conservation space and water flow especially in a metropolitan area. There are a few miles of hiking trails(mostly flat land) comprised of natural dirt, crushed stone and low decks that keep you just above water to fully appreciate the space and understand its relevance.
It is a great activity for people young and old who are new to the city or like me who have lived in the Dallas area my entire life.

This place never disappoints. They have two separate studio rooms with two different vibes so you can have your pick. They have several furniture and prop options to suit your needs.
Both studios have one full wall of windows. I believe one faces the east and one faces the west so you can choose which lighting meets your needs.

This has got to be one of the best Waterparks I have been too. My 6 year old had a blast as well as my 13 year old. It's a nice park but the trail is not very friendly for the handicap. I would like to see the bridge not be stairs on at least one of the paths closest to the entrance for handicap parking. I didn't fully go through the right side only the left side of the trail but it was difficult to walk around the path without climbing. Not a lot of parking but it's expected near downtown. I got dropped off when using the route 5 bus and the curbside main entrance to the terminal building is tiny.
But when I got inside, it was not busy and I got through security in about 5 minutes. And due to the small size, the airport is very easy to navigate. Even though it's kind of small compared to DFW, there are still some good places to eat inside.

I don’t understand why this airport has 4.5 stars!! From the getting out of the car the security directing traffic were playing and goofing off!!! Then had the audacity to Yell at my dad for helping us unload our luggage and baby stroller and car seat. They didn’t direct traffic at ALL.

We couldn’t be more pleased with how the event turned out, thanks to Vanessa, who expertly coordinated everything for us. The ranch itself is stunning, and the horses are well cared for and beautiful.
Kyler, our instructor, was exceptional. His extensive knowledge and patient demeanor made a huge difference, especially for the girls who were a bit nervous about riding on their own. One of the highlights was an unexpected trail ride outside of the arena, which was a delightful surprise and a favorite part of our experience.
