Immerse yourself in the vibrant history of Mardi Gras at the Mobile Carnival Museum, located in a historic home. Whether you're in town for the festival or not, this museum offers a fascinating look into one of the oldest annual celebrations in the U.S. Explore gallery rooms showcasing colorful parades, intricate costumes, and historical photographs dating back to the 19th century.
This place was amazing. They have a must watch video that explains the beginning of Mardi Gras. The exhibits are just wow! There is one wall that gives the timeline of when things started, which is a must-read. The staff amazing and very knowledgeable.

Informative place! Lots of decorations, lots of history, all very interesting. Started off with a video that is very dated but interesting. We then started off with a tour guide but he was a little too long-winded for the kids so we headed off to explore on our own. Still learned tons! Never know that Madi gras stared in Mobile in the US and they have “royalty” still to this day! Loved all the costumes they had to display. Overall, the price wasn’t too bad for what you got to see and learn. Not at all busy, likely due to the time of year.
Andy E — Google review
This museum recently reopened last week after renovations. There are ticket discounts depending on your affiliation: military, AAA, student, etc. You enter the museum through the gift shop. It’s a cool, educational experience that starts with a short video in the theater section. After that short film about carnival is a self-guided walk-through to learn about carnival’s history and see some exquisite costume replicas. You can learn about each exhibit through the QR code menu. Card and cash are accepted here. There’s wifi available there as well. I visited last Saturday while I was in Mobile. It’s a chill, quiet and nice spot to visit. Lots of colorful picture-worthy rooms.
Jazmin H — Google review
The kind of museum that knows how to party! Dating back an unfathomable number of years, this museum truly captures the origins of Mardi Gras in the Americas. Indeed, a festival, as so many surrounded or formed through roots of religion, it’s wonderful to see the factual history and wonder at the mystical together! Well done! Let the good Time roll!
S F — Google review
An interesting museum displaying the history of Carnival and Mardi Gras. Incredible costumes on display. It is a self guided tour thru an app on your phone accessible by wifi.
Jackie M — Google review
Really underrated. Fab showcases. Save $ with AAA card. Don't miss. Go for lunch at Blind Mule up the street and get red beans and rice
Chris E — Google review
The museum was beautiful and very informative of the city’s history of Mardi Gras. The exhibits are stunning and definitely worth experiencing. However, our tour guide, Mr.Roberts, was rude and dismissive towards our group. He made my visit less than pleasurable, and is the sole reason for the lower star rating.
Stacey L — Google review
The museum is mid amusing, the pics I post are pretty much a summary of what you will see. The tour guide, however, is horrendously rude. He was extremely rude to tourist with limited time wanting the self guided tour. We won't be back or recommend. I give it 3 out of 10.

The USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park is a must-visit for history enthusiasts. This park is home to the iconic USS Alabama, a WWII-era battleship that played a crucial role in the war and earned the nickname "Heroine of the Pacific." Visitors can explore this historic vessel on a self-guided tour and also check out the USS Drum, the oldest U.S. submarine on public display. The park also features an Aircraft Pavilion showcasing over 28 historic planes from various wars.
This was one of the most interesting trips I’ve taken my sons on. From the depths of the ocean to way above the clouds, we explored every inch and we thoroughly enjoyed it all. You will be amazed at all the different things they have to look at. We will be back.
Latara M — Google review
Battleship USS Alabama is a pretty immersive experience! The walk through three different levels of the inards of the ship lead guests through a maze of galleys, rooms, and halls that make it not too difficult to imagine a small picture of what it must have been like traveling and serving inside the ship. Amazing sacrifice and bravery of our American servicemen and women! There are plenty of things to read and learn about the active time the battleship was used to defend our country, and how many things that were brought on-board to make quarters more livable for our military, from post office, dentist and doctor office, barber, solitary confinement, pantry and kitchen w/ extensive services for food, laundry, a little recreation, and just how much of an adjustment it must have been to live in such close quarters! A good deal of sleeping being done in hanging hammocks with only officers having small private rooms with beds. Of course there are written historical accounts, preserved artifacts, plenty of artillery shells, short videos of missions, informative write-ups about nearly every room in every section of this battleship! A truly interesting experience and one note is the heavy scent of oil-based paint that permeates the interior of the whole ship, adding to the experience. Some tight hallways and steep stairways, and in some areas, it's important to keep track of where you are and stay on the colored/painted trail. So much to see inside AND outside the Battleship USS Alabama! If you care to read some of the signs and historical accounts, it'd be easy to spend 2 or more hours exploring this ship alone, not to mention all the planes, jets, cars and other vehicles and things inside the grounds of the aircraft hangar and property. Adults pay $18 to see everything on property, including the battleship and submarine, and it's well worth it. Restrooms are inside the hangar museum, and there's a cafe on property for refreshments/meals, if you need. We visited in May before most children were out of school and it was not crowded. Very educational, historical, and enjoyable visit!

This is an awesome museum ship. Immaculately maintained and the self guided tours are very well organized. There are living history demonstrations as well and volunteers are available to answer questions. It was an incredible feeling to look at those massive guns and know that those weapons actually defended freedom in some desperate times. I highly recommend this place.
Charles W — Google review
This was awesome! I had no idea before visiting that this was in a few movies. I visited when it was raining and it gave it a bigger wow effect. It was pretty cool to see the different areas. I would love to go back. I definitely will. The museum before going on the ship is worth seeing with a bunch of history. It is very well out together and I believe the kids I saw there were equally as fascinated.
Ok — Google review
What an awesome display of USA firepower and ingenuity. The displays of tanks, and aircraft, along with the the submarine are impressive, but the show stealeris definitely the "Big A" herself. The USS Alabama was amazing! My son and I went on the self guided tour, and were not disappointed in the slightest. Starting on the Main deck, you soon make your way down into the boat. It takes you through the various and volumous areas below deck. From the machine shops, to galleys, the hospital, marines quarters, the brig, and even inside the massive, 4 story high, triple 16" gun turrets. Such an amazing walk through such an important ship in our country's history. Definetly not handicap friendly as there is a lot of climbing and descending multiple steep ladders. So totally worth the 15 dollar admission, if only to look at the battleship, and then see everything else as well is a real bonus. In order to maximize your ability yo see it all, come early when they open, and plan to stay all day. They have a niceluttle Cafe where you can break mid-day to rest and refuel so you can see it all.
Lucas T — Google review
This was so interesting! To get the full experience, you need to be able to climb up and down many, many very steep ladder-stairs. I am pain disabled and have BPV (vertigo), but I just went slowly with my husband behind me. I also didn't climb into many of the tight spaces that are available to explore. There are handicapped accessible areas to explore, but it's a fraction of the ship. It is very easy to get disoriented. Just follow the tour color and number tags. There are volunteers in a few places to help enrich the experience with fantastic stories and information. The gentlemen we met were Naval Veterans. Make sure that you have an entire day. We didn't arrive until 1 PM and were almost the last folks off at 5 PM. We didn't get to explore the submarine or planes/copters. We just didn't allow enough time. For babies/toddlers, this isn't going to interest them and there are quite a few areas that are not safe for small children. I'd say 6-8 and up, depending on interest and level of energy.
Laura U — Google review
Unfortunately we couldn't find the submarine. Turns out this little lane must have went back to it but there was a golf cart camped sideways and it the whole time so we assumed back there was just maintenance. Everything else was pretty cool. My husband didn't want to go without me and I can't climb ladders or steps etc but just going around and seeing everything driving around and looking was very very interesting. My husband was very happy with the visit. What I was aggravated with but was not the fault of the park....two different pickups decided to park directly almost against what looked like well it was a reconnaissance plane all black super cool I'll post pictures but was really aggravated somebody thought that the half empty parking lot wasn't good enough they needed to park in front of the most interesting plane there.
Net B — Google review
I love this place, as a boy scout and being allowed to sleep in the ship and I have done it for years, it is the best thing for a Navy fan to do! It's very kid friendly and also you can get a little losted around the ship but! It's nice to see all the parts

Museums
The History Museum of Mobile is housed in a 19th-century Italianate city hall and marketplace, originally built in 1855. It boasts over 117,000 artifacts from the city and surrounding region, offering insights into Mobile's history from its Indigenous beginnings through periods of slavery and civil rights. The museum features permanent exhibits such as an original Confederate ship cannon, a gallery showcasing Southern luxury items, and detailed miniature houses.
Lovely building, awesome exhibits and very interesting stories. Loved the carriages, the canoe, the Mardi Gras displays, the history of industry in Mobile, and the more modern additions! The building itself is historic and still holds city meetings to be considered one of the oldest city halls still in operation. The statues and the photos of Mobile show the early times of Mobile and its development, and even showcases some remnants from prehistoric time that have been found nearby.
Victoria K — Google review
We have come to this museum several times now for photoshoots and love it! The checkered floor to the staircase are stunning. Staff is also super sweet and great with communication. If you're wanting photos done and want a different vibe, highly recommend coming here!
Madysin G — Google review
This is now one of my favorite museums and I would love to go back to visit soon. I was in town nearby for work and a solo vacation. I visited on a weekday at non-peak hours, so it was quiet which made for an enjoyable exploration. I learned quite about about Mobile and had no idea of its history or significance regarding the formation of the country. I was so pleasantly surprised to see an area dedicated to the Clotilda ship because it led to Africatown in Mobile. I think that section needs to be expanded into a larger exhibit for guests to learn more about its significance. I appreciate that some exhibits are interactive and engaging to help visitors connect with the history. The sound effects and music were a nice touch to transport you back in time for the horse carriage exhibit. I wish the gift shop were bigger with a larger selection, given the museum's size and it being connected to the welcome center. I'd love to support by purchasing merchandise unique to the area and reflective of a guest's experience of touring the museum. The exterior of the museum has a striking design and it's connected to the Mobile Welcome Center, which is perfect for those visiting or new the the city. You can go right next door and learn about the city's history. It's also the meetup for a trolley tour of the city. Unfortunately, on the day I visited, the museum was closing 30 minutes early in preparation for a law enforcement parade happening downtown. So I missed seeing some exhibits. I realize, I need a full day to enjoy this two-level museum because I spent an hour on just half of one floor immersed in the exhibits. I recommend about 3-4 hours to fully explore all the exhibits. Overall, I highly recommend visiting this museum. I'm glad I got to explore some of it during my trip. Learn something new and see Mobile in a new light.
Jazmin H — Google review
We bought a 1 day Mobile multiattraction pass and went here with plans to see just the fort. The museum was excellent. I wish we had planned more time here. The fort is included in the ticket. The museum is very well arranged. Easy to understand complex historical perspectives. The ship building area was very, very well done.
Nicole B — Google review
This museum was pretty cool. My 4 boys enjoyed their time there. They have a discovery room on the second floor. Our admission was free because we are military. They also offer free admission to people with EBT benefits.
Kelley G — Google review
Lots of interesting things to see here. The miniature houses were amazing. Also the history of mobile from early settlements through the fights between the British, Spanish, French, and Indians for the territory was interesting. They even threw in some Mardi Gras!
Harold R — Google review
We visited this museum on a rainy Sunday. It was a pleasurable visit, and we learned quite a bit about Mobile's history, including its role as the first permanent settlement on the Gulf Coast, and the first to celebrate Mardi Gras.

Quite spot to get away and cool off. The exhibits were local and very informative. It was not crowded and some were interactive which was fun.

Museums
Situated in Langan Park, the Mobile Museum of Art is a prominent cultural institution boasting an extensive permanent collection of over 10,000 artworks from various periods. The museum also hosts rotating regional and traveling exhibitions. Its mission is to educate and inspire through visual art. In addition to its artistic offerings, Mobile features historic architecture downtown, including the Cathedral-Basilica of the Immaculate Conception and charming Victorian homes.
What a pleasant surprise for a city like Mobile, AL! I wasn't expecting to see all the cool pieces available here. Everyone was so friendly, and I even got to hear about the history behind some of the pieces. I always wonder about the generous donors and how they may have come across certain things. There's a horse figure from before Jesus walked the Earth in the Asian exhibit that was originally a gift to an actor who had no idea what it was, so he gave it to a friend, and that friend donated it to this fine museum so that others could enjoy its beauty. There are pieces from Salvador Dali, Henri Matisse, and Pablo Picasso; right here in Mobile! There are even pieces from Bronze Age China! How incredible is that? For those who enjoy physical keepsakes, the gift shop is full of art that you can buy from pottery, paintings, woven objects, and jewelry. The view of the surrounding park from inside the museum is so nice on a sunny day. An oasis of tranquility and beauty tucked away in MobTown.
Ajax G — Google review
They’ve got parking space for days, so you won’t be circling around sweating bullets. The ticket prices ain’t too bad either, especially if you’re military—props to them for recognizing our service folks. $12 for a regular adult ticket, $8 if you’re military. Not gonna break the bank, but it does set the tone: you’re expecting to get your money’s worth. Now, the art itself? Some of it’s downright stunning, and I’m not saying that lightly. Local artists are repped well, which is always a plus. And the kids’ section? Y’all, it’s like they sprinkled magic in there. If you’ve got little ones, they’ll be in heaven—touching, building, playing, learning. Heck, even grown folks might find themselves drawn to the giant Legos and couches. I saw folks who didn’t have kids hanging out there like they were 10 again. So yeah, points for creativity and making art fun. But here’s the thing: the museum as a whole feels like it’s trying to be a big deal, but it ain’t quite there yet. Sure, it’s got three floors, and some of that art has history going back a thousand years, but the vibe is inconsistent. Some collections look like they belong in a world-class museum, while others feel more like a college art class final project. And don’t even get me started on the layout—it’s confusing. Why do I gotta go to the gift shop just to grab a ticket? Feels like they’re funneling you straight into a money trap before you even get to the good stuff. For a city like Mobile, with under 200,000 people, the museum’s got potential. It’s a solid attempt at being a cultural hub, but it falls short in execution. They’ve got the bones for something great—local talent, interactive exhibits, and a space that’s peaceful in parts. But they need to tighten up the experience. Be consistent, clean the place up, and for goodness’ sake, keep your doors open as advertised.

This has been one of our favorite art museums so far. The fantastical forest was our favorite to see.
Austin A — Google review
I visited the Mobile Museum of Art recently along with my friend. The place is quite easy to locate and has ample space for parking. We visited on the weekend but still we didn't find any rush. They do have military based tickets as my friend used that facility as she is part of the services. I bought a regular adult ticket. Regular adult tickets are 12 dollars and military personnel tickets are 8 dollars. We enjoyed our time here a lot. A few of the art pieces were really amazing and admirable. A lot of local artists paintings are for sale as well. My favorite part of the museum is the Kid's section. If you guys are visiting with kids this place is a perfect choice. Lots of creative stuff to do for kids. My friend also loved that section a lot. The people in the museum were also really helpful in explaining to us a few of the paintings and the artists behind it. Special shout out to Donna. She really ensured we understood the paintings that were there in her section. Overall we had a really artistic time here and I would recommend this museum to seekers of all sorts.
Utkarsh G — Google review
My first time visiting. Everyone was very helpful and kind. They have a variety of exhibits from Surrealisim to Chinese pottery and European Realism and Modern Abstract, as well as an area to let kids get out some energy and play, touch and create as well as 2 or 3 other areas for children to experience so I would definitely say it is very kid friendly. There is also a garden and park area outside with a boardwalk and trail. I saw several people using the park to exercise and enjoy being out in the wonderful weather we had today. The museum itself is also beautiful in the rotunda area where you walk in and has a gift shop where you can buy art that's made by a lot of the local artists as well.

The National Maritime Museum of the Gulf of Mexico, also known as GulfQuest, is a unique educational museum located in downtown Mobile, Alabama. It offers over 90 interactive exhibits that cover various aspects of the maritime heritage of the Gulf of Mexico. Visitors can engage in hands-on activities such as navigating ships, loading cargo, and experiencing simulations related to marine life and coastal environments. The museum also features theaters where guests can watch films on topics like WWII history and port navigation.
We were just starting to explore new and interesting places, and stopping into the National Maritime Museum was the perfect choice! This place was absolutely wonderful—spotlessly clean, filled with fascinating exhibits, and offering some really beautiful views. What truly made the experience stand out were the volunteers. They were so friendly and welcoming, taking the time to share insights and stories that made everything even more engaging. It’s totally worth the stop! We loved every second of our visit and highly recommend it to anyone in the area.

My friend and I went on a weekday. It was the middle of the day on June day. There is a cover charge but it's not too bad. There are elevators and ramps for handicapped or people with difficulty climbing stairs. There are 4 floors with many displays and hands on exhibits. I'm 68 years and I enjoyed the museum very much. There is a lot to see for old and young alike. I may go back but probably on a day that's cooler. It got warmer as we went higher but it was still bearable on a hot summer day. If you are looking for a family oriented museum this would be the pace to go. Any complaints I have are minor. It is on the waterfront and hard to get to. There is a restaurant on the bottom floor that is little high on the prices. The admission prices for a family can be high depending on how many are with the family. There were a few exhibits not working or under construction

A great stop off I-10 in the port city of Mobile, Alabama is the GulfQuest National Maritime Museum of the Gulf of Mexico. This ship-shaped museum is filled with both low and high tech interactive exhibits. Kids and adults are sure to enjoy learning about ship navigation, cargo shipping, and maritime travel. There are five decks of displays, interactives, and lookouts. It offers a good mix of information, stories, and hands-on learning to explore the world and history of ships. We especially loved learning about different signal flags, knot tying, and simulated driving of different vessels. I f you’re passing through Mobile, this is a great stop!
Tiffany W — Google review
This is such a wonderful place to go. It has interactive activities for the kids. Beautiful views and the event I went to was very informative. I would love to see them bring something in on dinosaurs, sharks, or even the holocaust. There is a lot of space that could be utilized and make so much more fun. Just call ahead and make sure there are no field trips attending that day. That is the only thing that makes it hard for individuals to enjoy. It is a wonderful opportunity for the kiddos from school, and they need to see it, but individuals may have a harder time getting to see anything when the schools are there.
Marie H — Google review
Easy to get to. Great parking. Ramps and elevators to reach the levels. Had a great variety of interactive stations. Sadly, several were not working. The ones that were working were a lot of fun. They have a great children's area. The docents were friendly and very knowledgeable. They have a volunteer docent, named Fred, who was a true pleasure to talk with. We actually stayed here all day and enjoyed our time. Their Coast Guard art exhibit was well put together.

The Cathedral-Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, dating back to the early 1700s, is a stunning example of Gothic architecture and one of the largest cathedrals in the United States. It was established as the first Catholic parish on the Gulf Coast in 1703. The cathedral features beautifully designed stained glass, gold detailing, and a large pipe organ.
Beautiful church. Very big. Beautiful music. Love the gift shop here. Bought my bracelet here a few years ago. Wearing it while visiting here. Forgot where I got my bracelet from until I walked in the gift shop here. They have a big selection of rosary, crucifix, prayer cards, Bibles, books, status!

Beautiful place. We went to Mass here when we were visiting Mobile, AL. Well worth making a stop to Praise our Lord, Jesus Christ.

What a beautiful surprise. We were able to attend Saturday evening mass while passing through Mobile. What an amazing experience.

It’s the oldest Roman Catholic parish on the Gulf Coast.. established in 1703, just two years after Mobile was founded. A very beautiful church!

Beautiful cathedral in nice part of downtown mobile. Very walkable.

I loved attending the service here. The message was very heartfelt and meeting people here was great to see so many people filled with the Holy Spirit. This is the oldest parish and religious center in the whole area. The Cathedral has been preserved extremely well. I would love to come back here on a Sunday.

The kind of church that gives you that old world feel with a new world validity.

Beautiful, peaceful and also historical cathedral. I enjoyed seeing the stained glass windows that were custom made in Germany. A small garden around the Cathedral is worth walking around, well maintained and serene.

Colonial Fort Condé, originally constructed in 1723, has been reconstructed to showcase historic artifacts and exhibits. The Conde-Charlotte Museum, Mobile's first courthouse and jail turned house museum, offers a tour featuring period furnishings, antiques, and artifacts reflecting the city's diverse history under French, English, Spanish, Confederate, and American control. The museum displays various rooms representing different historical periods.
My wife and I had a wonderful time visiting the fort on Saturday November 16th 2024. There happen to be re-enactment in progress concerning the Revolutionary period. The staff and actors were extremely helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend a visit to the fort. Buy a all in one pass if you are in the area for more than one day.

So cute. They even had actors in different rooms. We popped over after visiting the Mobile History Museum. It was free admission after the visit to the History Museum. They also offer free admissions to Military & EBT holders. We got free admission because my husband is Coast Guard.

Fun place to explore we got to climb on top of the fort and explore the inside as well. We were excited to see that they had a time capsule that is due to be open July 4 2026. Probably gonna come back for that. Never experienced anything like that before.

Fort Conde in Mobile is a historic and cultural landmark that offers visitors a fascinating glimpse into the city’s colonial past. Located in the heart of downtown, this reconstructed 18th-century French fort provides both educational and immersive experiences for history enthusiasts, families, and tourists alike. The site is compact but thoughtfully designed, with informative displays, period architecture, and interpretive panels that detail Mobile’s early history, military life, and French colonial influence.
Owen U — Google review
I would personally not pay for this because this is not the original fort. But the first Sunday of every month it is free to visit so take advantage of that. I love historic forts because of the actual bricks and mortar used. I like to touch historic forts and imagine what the soldiers experienced but the original one was destroyed here. A few bricks at the park next door are still there.
Tucker L — Google review
Love visiting Fort Conde. It's fun walking along the rampart and seeing the history showcasing what life was like living in the fort. They also have different events throughout the year showing what life was like during the colonial era!

The Richards-DAR House Museum in Mobile, Alabama is a prime example of Italianate style architecture from the 19th century. Built in 1860 by steamboat Captain Charles G. Richards, this well-preserved house is adorned with a cast-iron facade depicting the four seasons and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Nice place and interesting things to see. The history of the building has nothing to do with the DAR but still a nice place to check out if you’re inclined. They offer tea and cookies at the end of your tour. My pics give an idea of the location relative to the downtown area.

✨🙏 definitely come here for a short photo stop.. the Richard DAR House is one of the most beautiful and charming historic homes in Mobile, Alabama. It was built in 1860 by Captain Charles G. Richards. It has a beautiful Italianate-style facade and is typical for the Mobile of the 19th century.

I enjoyed the tour very much. Sheila had a vast amount of knowledge about the property and it was beautiful inside and out. Her knowledge and the house itself are well worth the price of admission. You will get to see beautiful furniture, chandeliers, and items that show how Americans used to live.

Mobile Botanical Gardens, established in 1974, is located on Museum Drive in the Spring Hill community. It offers a delightful mix of natural habitats and cultivated areas for both locals and tourists to explore. Visitors can wander through diverse flora including the Rhododendron Garden with over 1,000 evergreen and native azaleas, the Camellia Wintergarden showcasing more than 500 camellias, and a meticulously maintained Japanese Maple Garden.
This is a tranquil and relaxing garden that helps a person connect with nature. There is a wide variety of flora and subspecies surrounded by the sights and sounds of fauna (birds and insects) on 100 acres. The Koi pond is my favorite!

So many things to do and see! Beautiful plants and grounds. Now I have so many ideas for my garden at home - especially the herb garden with different uses (medicinal, fragrance, culinary) in different containers, I loved that. The staff are very friendly and treat you like family. Dogs allowed too!

We had a great time! Unfortunately most of the floral plants we're not in bloom because of the season. My favorite part was the koi fish bridge.

I attended a presentation from a visiting author and gardener and found it delightful and informative. Their classroom is comfortable and the registration includes the ability to walk in. This also came with a nice lunch in a gift shop that is infused with beauty and charming things to purchase. The garden is wonderful to walk anytime of the year and if you enjoy gardening, you will want to attend their plants sales. The staff attending those sales are very helpful. A wonderful experience!

We had a very pleasant visit. We went on a spring day and enjoyed a walk around. We learned a lot about different types of Japanese Maple trees. Aromi Azalea Garden was beautiful. The garden is not very big, so you can spend a couple hours or whole day depending on what you want. There is no restaurant there. I believe you might be able to order lunch a couple days a week but other than that you’re on your own. They have a cute gift shop with art work from local artists. The worker we interacted with was very pleasant. Great place to visit with children. Dogs are allowed on a leash.

We stopped by to see the waterfall and the koi fish and well I don't know where to begin,, you enter a gate then you have to go to the souvenir / admission shop pay to enter the garden / woods. I was not impressed because there's really nothing to see but woods, trees, and forestry!!!! I understand it suppose to be a Garden, but it's really nothing to see, NO BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS,NO BEAUTIFUL SCENERY just overgrown bushes, trees, and trails!!! You can get off track easily cause there is NO signs to point you in the right direction ,,,,BUT the biggest disappointment was the Waterfall,it was so small but the koi fish in the small little pond was beautiful, well my final review is it should be FREE! Or maybe we went the wrong time of year April 2024
Marie B — Google review
As members of the Corpus Christi Botanical Garden we have reciprocal privileges at many other botanical Gardens nationally. Some could argue a five-star rating would be generous but a garden that does many things should perhaps be very well regarded as a local treasure. We enjoyed our 1 hour morning visit on a very warm day to tour the numerous attractions of this well-maintained facility. Individually taken Mini of Gardens settings may not be up to a five-star rating. Taken on the hole ambitious effort on so many topics it was very enjoyable. I may have given them an extra star for the Shaded parking.

The Conde-Charlotte Museum, also known as the Kirkbride House, is a historic landmark in Mobile, Alabama. Built in 1822 as the city's first courthouse and jail, it was later transformed into a residence by Jonathan and Elizabeth Kirkbride. The museum offers tours for adults to explore its rich history under five different flags: French, English, Spanish, American and Confederate. Visitors can see authentic antique furnishings reflecting Mobile's diverse cultural heritage over the past 300 years.
The Condé-Charlotte Museum in Mobile, Alabama, is a hidden gem! Kathy and Kim provided an exclusive and personalized tour, catering to just the two of us. Their passion and knowledge for the history and artifacts were evident as they shared detailed stories and allowed close-up views of the antiques. The mansion itself is a beautiful testament to the city's past. This intimate and informative experience left us with a deeper appreciation for the history of Mobile and the people who shaped it. Highly recommended for history enthusiasts and anyone seeking a unique cultural experience.

I have been trying to do more things in Mobile and decided to come visit. Reasonable tour price, very friendly tour guides. I like how there are sections representing each of the different owners of the area, and the spot where the hole is cut in the floor to see the original jail flooring. I would recommend for anyone in the area.

We had a three day trip to Mississippi and Alabama. This was the best part of the weekend. We bought a 1 day Mobile attractions pass and used it for the aquarium, fort, museum, and here. The ladies were very knowledgeable. The details in decor were very well researched. Some really special pieces. Gives a good foundation for Mobile's history.

The Condé-Charlotte Museum is a beautiful home and collection of period pieces. The host are some of the most gracious folks you will find anywhere and they give a great tour. This home was originally built as a jail and within the grounds of the old fort that had been demolished. Purchased by Mr. Kirkbride, the property was remodeled and repurposed as his home.

Easily accessible from the Main Road, street parking and public lots are nearby. The Museum was super clean and well staffed by friendly employees. Restrooms were available and were clean. If you like Museums and are a fan of History you will absolutely love this museum and you won't be disappointed. Besides all the Historical Artifacts, which are excellent, it like a walk through time not only of Mobile, but Alabama and the United States. Very educational and it pulls no punches with it exhibits. They did it the right way. Plan to spend some time there to take it all in. In the area don't pass it up. *The Fort is across the street and the Carnival Museum is a few blocks away and are also worth a Visit*

Wintzell's Oyster House is a renowned seafood restaurant that has been a staple in Mobile, Alabama since 1938. Originally starting as a small oyster bar, it has now grown into an informal chain eatery known for serving fresh Gulf Coast seafood, including their famous oysters prepared fried, stewed, or nude. The restaurant has received accolades for its oysters and crab, recognized as the best in various publications.
We enjoyed a great meal. The bienville oysters were delicious. The gumbo had a nice little kick to it and a great consistency. The strawberry shortcake included ice cream on top which was very tasty. We had excellent service and great tasting food. The fried green tomatoes were also very good, including what they called gravy which was a seafood sauce that you could put on the tomatoes which made them even more delicious. Besides being great food the atmosphere is fun because the walls are covered with short, funny jokes everywhere you look. It's non-stop fun reading all of the jokes on the walls!

My husband and I tried Wintzells Oyster House recently and both liked it. We ordered the oyster sampler and the shrimp sampler. He loved his oysters. My shrimp sampler was pretty good but most of them were overcooked. Service was great and our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Parking wasn't bad since they have a dedicated parking lot across the street. Bring a jacket because they keep the restaurant cold!

Tried it based on reviews and liked it. We had grilled oysters and the broiled platter. Oysters were small ( reportedly because of this time of year which we can live with but they were slightly overcooked and one oyster was only bread which they offered to fix but we declined as we were getting ready to leave. We really enjoyed the meal and almost perfect. Yes we would try it again.

Our visit to Wintzell’s Oyster House was outstanding. The food was excellent, the oysters were plentiful and fresh, the beer was cold, and the prices were very reasonable. The service, however, was what truly set the experience apart. A special thank-you to Jay #1, who went above and beyond. He was attentive, friendly, and genuinely made our family of five feel welcome. His professionalism and hospitality made the meal even more enjoyable. Overall, Wintzell’s delivered a great dining experience from start to finish. Highly recommend, and we will absolutely be back.

Park
Meaher State Park, located less than 10 miles east of downtown Mobile, is a serene nature area offering camping and picnicking spaces, a fishing pier, and a waterfront boardwalk. The park is part of the Coastal Alabama Birding Trail and features gorgeous nature trails for hiking and bird watching. With over 1,300 acres of wetlands to explore, it's an ideal spot for outdoor enthusiasts.
First time here. Meaher is a gorgeous state park. It's in close proximity to all kinds of things. Bathhouse/restrooms are clean and comfortable. Sites are spacious and spaced far enough apart. Beautiful views of the bay - at sunrise and sunset. Plenty of gators to be seen. Staff was super friendly. Went straight across the road, to the government building, and got my out of state fresh water fishing license. Full hook-ups uos were nice. The pedestal grill was OK- but the wind kinda makes it hard to grill on it. No fire pits at campsites but with the amount of pine needles carpeting the ground I understand why. No biggie. Be sure and sweep/blow needles off the tops of your slide outside before retracting tem in. Just a suggestion. Overall it is a lovely place and we will be back sometime.
Robert R — Google review
A small but very beautiful park. The facilities (restrooms, showers, laundry) are well kept, the bathrooms being especially clean. They are currently adding new buildings and upgrading the park quite a bit. In addition to the well kept older wash buildings, there is a brand new wash house with each room having toilets, changing table, and shower. They have a brand new loop with paved, level sites; however, there is no shade in the new loop as all the trees were taken out to accommodate the new sites. Hopefully part of the long term plan is to put some trees in that area, as it can get extremely hot and the wind off the bay makes it hard to keep an awning or canopy in place. We struggled a little bit with the water pressure at our full hook-up RV site. The staff was so kind and accommodating, the boardwalk is perfect to catch a sunset. The boat launch is easily accessible to all sites. There is also a fishing pier, which we didn’t utilize but is also conveniently located within the park. The USS Alabama Memorial Park is a 10 minute drive from here, which was part of the reason we booked here to begin with. It’s also got groceries and restaurants nearby.
Lauren B — Google review
Came here for homecoming pictures. Absolutely gorgeous view and beautiful sunset. There were a few grasshoppers on the trail part. The park is well-maintained and has a grass pathway that leads to a pier overlooking the bay and causeway. It's really breathtaking.

For our girls trip, we found this park to tent camp while visiting the Mushroom Festival in Fairhope. We stayed at campsite 33, which is just steps from the water and has a little bench under a tree to sit on to enjoy the view of the Bay. There are water and electric at each site. The people here are so friendly and the facilities are clean. There is a coin laundry area, a kayak drop-in & rental, and a dock to walk out on to fish or just enjoy the view! Not every site has tree coverage so make sure if you want to have a couple of trees near you to just look up YouTube reviews that visit each site ... this is what helped me pick site 33 because I wanted to be near the water and have trees around us. We would definitely stay here again!!
L S — Google review
Decided to stay one night while enroute to St. George Island. Park is very clean, sites are nice size, very level. We enjoyed a stroll on the boardwalk and saw an alligator eating its dinner. Showers/restrooms are clean. Each site has picnic table and grill, with full hook ups.

Great stop for a couple of hours - parked in a small shaded lot by the boardwalk. nice walk over the marsh - birds, turtles. saw lots of signs warning about gators but saw no gators. $3 per person for a day pass and they let us fill up our water tank at an open RV site. thank - you!!
Kelly — Google review
Love it. Always nice people and clean/pretty park. Wish they had a second entrance lane for returning guest to enter without having to wait in line behind the cars checking in, but not a big deal. Also we typically just need to stay one night and they may require two nights during some times. Still 5 star place!
Steve — Google review
This state park is a great place for camping in a tent, or an RV. It offers excellent views of the water, and the majority of the lots have wide spacing between them. There are 2 bathhouses on site that are centrally located to the lots if needed. There is also a dock that is near the entrance offering an opportunity to fish and walk over the water. There is a boat slip that would be great for small boats and canoes and kayaks as well. I took one star away for this review due to a safety issue that seems like it could be very dangerous to those checking in after hours. There is an entrance gate to the park that is closed after hours at night. The issue with the gate is that it is located extremely close to the highway, so if it is closed and you are pulling up to the gate to enter in a passcode, your trailer will be sticking out into the highway while you wait for the gate to open. This is a huge concern of mine as it has the potential to cause a deadly accident at night for those checking in late. If the entrance gate were moved back allowing traffic to pull all the way into the entrance and not stick out into the highway it would be better and safer.

The Bragg-Mitchell Mansion, a stunning Greek Revival-style building constructed in 1855, is a historic landmark in Mobile, Alabama. It is renowned for its architectural beauty and has become one of the city's most photographed structures. Originally built as a lavish home for Judge John Bragg's wife to entertain during Mobile's social season, the mansion features extravagant elements such as double parlors, a grand circular staircase, and spacious rooms that reflect Southern social entertaining at its peak.

Great tour with lots of info on the house and its former owners. The house is available for weddings and receptions and other events. The grounds are well maintained as is the house itself. The tours start only at the top of the hour so plan accordingly and don't be late.

The home is very elegant and the young lady who gives the tours is very pleasant. However they do not allow photos (After of course I had taken a few) I was informed. I believe the admission price was $10 a person. They do have wheel Chair accessibility And an elevator so you needn't have to climb the stairs if unable. However if you are unable to climb the stairs you won't be able to see the pictures they have in the vestibule that shows the home prior to having an add on To the porch. Extremely beautiful and most everything in the house is original Except for one bedroom and They will tell you about that. There is a lot more than this to see, if you like what I've shown you it's a must see !!

Interesting and eclectic collection with thought provoking pieces. Some interesting social statements. Didn't agree with some, but they were well presented and showed the artists' intense feelings on the subject matter. And being of a libertarian bent, I appreciated the visual statement of the point of view. There is some nudity in the adult section; however it is not gratuitous. Those familiar the nudity with more classical art will be comfortable. Typical of contemporary art, there was a fair variety of media used. Got a chance to speak with the executive director. A very interesting woman. Admission is a donation in the amount you choose. Worth a side trip if you are downtown. And take a few minutes to enjoy the Moblobz mural on the building exterior. A fun and fanciful work.

Oakleigh House Museum, located in Mobile, Alabama, is a preserved cotton broker's mansion that showcases the Southern interpretation of the Greek Revival style. Built in 1833 by James W. Roper, this historic house has been witness to significant historical periods and events such as the cotton trade, slavery, Civil War, Emancipation, railroad expansion and epidemics.
If you are big into architecture or early American history, this is must stop. This gem has been preserved and decorated with time appropriately decor. Many families lived there, and there is lots of history. The grounds are packed with huge live oak trees, many of them over 200 years old. Our tour guide was great, very knowledgeable, and could tell she has a passion for what she does. The tour is priced well and was roughly an hour long.

Wonderful tour in the historic district of Mobile. A well preserved home and a great historian to take you back in time. Tours last about and hour. Keith is very knowledgable about Oakleigh House and its history. Great thing to do in these hot days of summer.

Excellent place to visit and get a little into history. The property is stunning and the tour is worth it. The guides have pretty good knowledge about the place itself and also about this one in the history of Mobile. A house built in 1833, has a lot to say!
Katherine B — Google review
Ghostly in the daytime, and especially at night as there are no lights on inside or spotlights highlighting the beautiful home. It's as dark as tar pitch at night. Surely, the city has a budget for this tourist attraction. It could be a great place for Mardi Gras balls, and private family reunions if not already doing so.

We were there on a Monday, which we knew they are closed. We walked around this house as well as a lot of the Garden district. Some beautiful and amazing homes.

Coming here was a wonderful experience. I would like to clarify that this wasn't a plantation home like we were wanting to see. However, our tour guide was friendly, funny, and very informative. The house was beautiful, and it would make a great stop on any road trip.

Great tour of the historic Victorian Oakleigh House. Our guide was very sweet and seemed to love telling us the history of the different familes that owned the house before it became an historic site.

The park features lush greenery, large trees, paved pathways, benches for relaxation, and a striking decorative fountain that adds to its allure.
Beautiful little Park, love all the trees and fountain. Situated in the middle of downtown. It's a nice little reprieve from the city life. Especially at night time when is skyline is lit up. The squirrels are a nice catch. But it's the trees that make it feel like a great city park.

This is a nice open field/space great for outdoor events. The Mardis Gras tree is gorgeous so kudos to whoever decorated!! There is history here and it's right across from the museum which makes for a nice outing. We also saw scooters for rent right in front of this park. There is no playground but would be nice for a nice lunch in the park. I saw a family throwing football and there was still plenty of room for others to roam.

It's a great place for both locals and tourists to explore unique finds from all over the world. From furniture to fresh produce, there's something for everyone at this bargain hunter's dream. Visitors can expect an eclectic mix of items and enjoy some delicious food while they browse through the market.
Oh me on my…lots to see and buy!!! Need to get your steps in, love to treasure hunt, need a nice inexpensive gift…come here! Lots of little things, useful to the eye of the beholder. We bought new stylish tote bags, had hotdogs and corn dogs at the little food stand…we drive 1.5hrs just to see what’s new here! Stop for a quick run through or spend several hours…lots to see, great prices!!!

Great outdoor flea market that has eating areas that serve a variety of snacks and beverages. Fresh fruits and produce are sold. If you look around you will find alot of hidden gems and antiques - all the need is a little TLC to be resold. I usually visit once a week.

Got a few good deals before the heat got me. Wish Mobile had an indoor flea market. Went by the past few Sundays in a.m. Not as crowded and even though it was hot you could tolerate the heat. By the way the restrooms are air-conditioned and clean. Despite the heat at least 80% of the vendors turned out. You can find a bargain here if you take time to shop.
Ken T — Google review
Be careful bringing your kids here. Had a guy possibly a vendor riding around on a scooter with realistic artificial boobs on hanging out of the see through bra. With kids walking around.
John B — Google review
They now charge $1/ person, and the vendor selection might as well have been non existent, cause soooooo many booths were empty! ... SMH... Maybe b/c of the holiday weekend, but from what I remember they used to be packed!
J M — Google review
It’s really gone down with the number of vendors. A few are great and imo shouldn’t be there. Too many dirty vendors and too many people selling abused animals in there. Dogs clearly full of worms, one lady had 5-6 ducks crammed in a dog crate. Squished in there with no room between them and no water, no fan or any cooling. They were panting. I have NEVER seen a duck pant from heat. It turned my stomach to see so many animals in cruel conditions. If Mobile Flea Market is going to allow them to sell animals on their property in those conditions, I won’t be back. The very few good vendors aren’t worth it.
Ashley B — Google review
Cool "outdoor"shopping area full of all kinds of vendors. Video games, tools, sunglasses, chickens, puppies, birds, scented oils, hats, knives, toys, phone cases, etc. They've got looots of stuff. Costs a dollar per person to get in, but it's worth it just to see everything they've got.

Well, not sure how to rate this. We were camping & drove into Mobile to check out the park only to find that it's completely dug up (except for the big trees)...including most of the parking lot. So, nothing to see except big equipment dredging the river's edge & dumping it onto the land & the statue of Diberville (but that may belong to the nautical museum). Expanding the park? Turning it into something else?
Monique — Google review
This is an interesting little park on the riverfront that we visited when we were in town for an event at the Convention Center. You can watch the ships coming and going, and take a short walk. Not sure why, but they had the area closest to the river blocked off when we were there. The parking lot is good for using when going to an event in the Convention Center, rather than getting lost in the parking garage and having to pay a $12 fee.

We went here to listen to the Mobile Pops and watch 4th of July fireworks. There was plenty of parking within a few blocks of the park. The park has a beautiful view of the Mobile River. It is also home to a museum and a cruise line terminal. There was plenty of space to walk around. There is no admission fee and is family friendly.

Felix's Fish Camp Restaurant is a rustic hideaway located on Mobile Bay Causeway, offering a unique dining experience since its opening in 2002. Despite being slightly old-fashioned now, it remains a popular choice for those seeking delicious seafood, stunning views, and excellent service.
We stopped at Felix’s Fish Camp over the July 4th weekend during our RV adventure, and it was an excellent choice. First off — plenty of space to park our RV and tow car, which made everything easy from the start. The food and service were both top-notch. The oysters were impressively large and full of flavor, definitely a standout. Everything we ordered was fresh and well-prepared, and the staff made us feel right at home. An added bonus was the beautiful view of the battleship across the water — a memorable touch for the holiday weekend. We’ll definitely be stopping here again the next time we pass through the area. Highly recommend!

Great meal at Felix’s Fish Shack this evening I had Fried snapper, jalapeño hush puppies, fried green tomatoes and turnip greens and an old fashioned and then ordered a side salad to go with my leftover fish for lunch tomorrow So delicious The server Caleb was very attentive- but not Too much so…and even brought me some honey for my hush puppies (apparently unheard of in these parts). The drink was well mixed and better than the one I had in Kentucky recently. The view is beautiful- I suggest you go early if you don’t have reservations and want to see the view

Step back into a time when food was an experience and service was pleasurable. This place has a great laid back ambience with non stop charm. The staff was amazing, the food was delicious and the price tag was very reasonable. I'd suggest a reservation to get a great view, but not necessarily needed. I'll brag on the crab soup as it was one of the best that I've eaten. Extremely rich in both flavor and crab. Whatever you order, expect the best. Enjoy.
Wallace F — Google review
Don't judge a book by its cover, mom always said. That is sound advice for Felix's. While it may not be much to look at, once you are inside, you are in for a great time. From our initial greeting by our host to the seating and introduction to our server, I knew this was an establishment that trains its staff in service. At no time were there any water glasses empty, yet we never felt interrupted. No small feat, to be sure. When it came time to order, no question was left unanswered as the server knew her menu inside and out. We had appetizers and entrees. There were four of us and four servers laid each dish on the table at the same time... from the left. You just don't expect this kind of service from a tourist, off the highway restaurant. The apps and entrees were delicious, and the local beers complimented each. Get there early and find a table with a view. If I ever return to Mobile, Felix's is what's for lunch.
Chris S — Google review
Loved it! Loved the character, views were beautiful. Service was great (Patrick was a great server- always refilling our drinks before asked, great suggestions on food and just interesting to talk to about the area), and the food was delicious! Loved the 1-1-1 (soup flight). House Salad was unique and good.

Over all the best food we’ve had so far in Mobile. The hostess need to control the crowed better. We seen people fighting over tables. Walking out we heard there was an hour wait. My party and I were excited to visit after reviewing the menu online, particularly looking forward to trying the cheese plate appetizer. However, when we inquired about it, our server asked if we had tried it before. We told him it was our first time dining with y'all, and he advised us against ordering it, describing it as “not worth it” and “disappointing,” and instead attempted to steer us toward other options we weren’t interested in. Ultimately, we opted just to enjoy the complimentary bread served with that delicious hibiscus butter. Later in the evening, after we had already placed our entrée orders, our server returned with an assistant and showed us a cheese plate he was delivering to another table, presumably to demonstrate why he found it disappointing. To our surprise, it looked exactly as we had hoped and quite delicious to our eyes, but at that point, it was too late to order an appetizer, and we were genuinely disappointed to have been talked out of trying it ourselves. That said, I want to highlight that our entrées were outstanding, beautifully cooked and flavorful. Additionally, the woman working at the hostess stand graciously took photos of our group on the way out and made us feel warmly welcomed. Her thoughtful service was a lovely way to end the evening and left a positive impression. Thank you for taking the time to read this, as you did not respond to a private message. I offer this feedback with the hope it might be helpful for training and service consistency, as we’re looking forward to returning and trying the cheese plate next time.

Hats off to RW for making our stop in Mobile such a pleasure 😊 we were on a long road trip back to central Florida and decided to stop for lunch. Seems there was a call out and it was his first time tending bar. I have to say he was stellar and a great conversationalist. He recommended burgers for us and they hit the spot for our long trip ahead. Bar was clean, bathrooms clean! Place is quirky with tons of great memorabilia hanging around. Fun to see. Menu is imaginative with plenty of beers to choose from. We will be back! Good luck RW

This is a super grungy place. Even the staff is grungy and look unkept. Our server had absolutely no personality. She came to the table and said "may I help you?" "Yes", I responded. " I'll have a burger well done". The first burger was medium rare, and so was the second one. The server said, "We cook them medium rare". So, we left.

Customer service: 10/10 waitress was very nice and welcoming. She even gave us samples of bear to try to fit our preferences. Drinks: 9/10 we got the pear and strawberry lime rekorderling cider. Also got a root beer and water that was great as well. Appetizer: 7/10 We got the “Cool Ranch Steak Nachos”. They were packed with a lot of flavor, the jalapeños were a bit spicy but overall great dish. Entrees: 100/10 We got the “Hugh Jass Waffle Burger” & “The Saenger” they were amazing bursting with flavor. Your taste buds will do a happy dance. Just get it! Overall experience: I love this place! We come here often and I have never had any bad food. The service is great and a very light atmosphere.

Our visit resulted in very ambitious feelings. On the bright side they do have a lot of good beers on tap, and by a lot I mean many dozens. However there were some not so bright aspects of our experience. First I’ve asked about local beers and they suggested to pick a set of flights for me. However I was really surprised when got three beers from Alabama and one from California. I might be not really profound in the geography of the New World, but that was a bit strange even for me. I have to admit I was immediately offered to replace that over boring Stone IPA with a local one and they did replace it indeed. Then, my wife ordered a steak sandwich and asked to make it rare. The space was not too overcrowded, but it took 27 minutes to get us that sandwich, and stake piece of it was dramatically over well done. Also, when I tried to order my second set of beer flight I realized that although they are listed as a verified untapped venue their online menu on untapped was outdated. I had to search really hard to find something that they have listed on untapped and they do have available at the same time. And the last but not least when I asked for a check they took my card and brought we only credit card slip, without any itemized receipt. And the charge looked just a bit too high. It was almost $60 before taxes and everything, meanwhile I expected to be under $50. So I asked for the itemized receipt to be sure that i has been charged correct my. Of course I was not. There was an extra $9 item which we did not order. And again, when I pointed to it, the problem was fixed quickly, and with no argument, and they did apologized. However although it was fixed what bothers me is how come (and why) I have not got an itemized receipt at all in the first place (until I explicitly asked for it)! Is it even legal? Is there any other reasonable and credible explanation of not been automatically provided the itemized receipt, except that I have been tried to be tricked? Well… even if there is, I do not see one. So, please, proceed with carel.

You can canoe or kayak here also, I saw some people do that. The welcome center is nice and they have maps of their trails. I saw birds, butterflies and flowers. It is such a nice free nature park.

My kids (8 & 10) and I spent a few hours here. The buildings had various native animals - both live and taxidermied - to look at. You can take a stroll down to the water behind one of the buildings. There are multiple walking paths available, as well. Be sure to use bug spray beforehand, and the mosquitoes are bountiful and hungry. The gift shop was not open when we visited (April 2025).

Very well maintained park. Lots of walking trails and the culture center has many cool animals and story boards.

It's hard to do a review of this place... The buildings... The infrastructure.. the gift shop are all great.. Top rate... BUT and it's a big but is that the interpretive exhibits we're very weak... Way there is just was your appetite for sooooo much more but it's just not there. Do however take time to go to the theatre and watch the video... It's absolutely great.

Great experience, we went on the 90 min cruise going through the delta around midday. Not alot of wildlife out at that time due to the heat, the captain suggested doing a morning or evening one for wildlife. The seats on the boat were wood and your back just rested against the railing or if you had a center seat you had no back rest. A bit overpriced for what it was and the seating become very uncomfortable after the first 1/2 hour so be sure to bring a cushion! The Delta center though was wonderful, lots of educational info about the area with live and taxidermy animals plus the delta center was free!
Justin B — Google review
Arrived on a Saturday afternoon, found the visitor centre closed. Drove round the road, the place was deserted. Found a few buildings and were just about to leave when we saw a couple coming out of one so we tentatively went to investigate. Found some good taxidermy displays and information on snakes, some alive some not! The place has great potential but we were uncomfortable being alone in such a large and deserted place.

Nestled on St. Louis Street, Braided River Brewing Company has quickly become a beloved local brewery. What began as a modest establishment with a limited menu has blossomed into one of the area's most sought-after breweries, renowned for its diverse beer selection and unwavering commitment to excellence. Whether you're an aficionado of craft beer or simply seeking a place to relax with a refreshing brew, Braided River Brewing Company caters to all tastes.
always a good time here! love all of their beers and the variety they have got to offer. i forgot to take a decent picture of the beer flight but definitely get that when you come in. i like hoppy by nature the best! love that they’re dog friendly and the people that work there are always warm towards you. best brewery in town in my opinion.

Our favorite place to stop in while in Mobile or driving through. We love the atmosphere, the staff, and of course the beer! We are big IPA drinkers and they always have a few that hit the spot. We always take a few six packs to go for us to enjoy later, too!
Allie C — Google review
My wife and I went on a tour of the brewery last year and then both got flights of beer to try. They have some of the most refreshing beer around. Nice assortment of flavors.
Ray T — Google review
Nice spot to grab a drink. Some unique styles, I can’t say I like them all but I did enjoy the variety and they will have something for just about everyone. Cool indoor area with much needed air conditioning during the summer. Outdoor seating and dog friendly. They have pints and flights for a reasonable price. Enjoyed the red enough to grab a 6 pack on our way out.

We really enjoy going to Braided River and sitting outside on the picnic tables sipping good beer. Our only comment is for them to always try and have a few options other than just IPAs on tap. Usually during the fall/winter we can get a good amber, stout, or porter but less so during the rest of the year.

Great ambiance and staff. Beer is great. Outdoor seating is also great. Trivial with Oliver is also super fun and a nice free pass time while drinking beer with friends.
Carlos M — Google review
Fantastic customer service. Good size venue. Plenty of outside seating. Fair prices. Good flavors on the brews and even the lemonade. Clean establishment. Glad we stopped in for a vegan event. Recommended!
Harley P — Google review
The beer here is solid. I'm sure as the brewery matures the beer will improve as well. The atmosphere is unique and modern. Very industrial aesthetic and vibe. The bartenders are nice and the place shows a lot of promise. They don't specialize in any beer which means they have a lot of different styles. I personally enjoyed the hoppy by nature IPA and the #brb brown ale. As for food you can bring your own or order and have it delivered.

Africatown Heritage House is a newly opened cultural center that features the Clotilda: The Exhibition, showcasing artifacts and documents telling the story of enslaved people who built the Africatown community. The Historic Avenue Cultural Center also offers an interactive exhibition called Remembering the Avenue, which includes panels on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The space is beautifully designed with images, maps, stories documented by Zora Neale Hurston, artifacts, a film, and personal audio devices.
Fascinating local museum (in partnership with National Geographic and the Smithsonian) centered around the people brought to America on the last known slave ship to land in the country (the Clotilda) and the founders of the town in which the museum is located. Staffed by locals, many of whom are descendants of the original enslaved, then freed, Africans themselves. Exhibits don't take more than an hour and a half to enjoy, reading absolutely everything. Pieces of the wreck of the Clotilda, discovered in 2019, are featured in the last room. Photography is not allowed inside the exhibits.

I am not sure what I was expecting when I found out about this museum, but I am blown away. The exhibit begins in Africa and ends with descendants speaking about growing up and living in this area. It is thought provoking and chilling to learn this information. I would recommend to anyone at all.
Andrea F — Google review
What an inspiration! This is a first rate museum detailing the history, through an audio self-guided tour, of the settlers of Africatown. The settlers were enslaved illegally, long after the Transatlantic slave trade had been banned but shortly before Emancipation. When freed, they built their own town based on their shared African values. We would have liked to take the tour of Africatown itself but time prevented. We hope to be back!
Merry S — Google review
It was AMAZING to learn of this extraordinary history. The museum outlines the resilience of Africans brought to America against their will, and how the remaining ones built a community called AfricaTown. If you love history, it's a must-see in Mobile, Alabama.
Debbie T — Google review
This was one of the highlights of my Alabama trip was visiting the heritage house. When coming to Mobile 15 years ago just a plaque. So happy that now an actual building I didn't rush but took everything in and during it had to stand back and later sit to reflect. As an avid genealogist also like how items used to research family during certain times was displayed to tell their stories. There's a short film at the very end and one of the women in it was there and glad to give more information since she is a descendant. This is part of America history which some don't want to acknowledge. The history of our country is both good and bad and all need to be shown.

The Africatown Hertiage House is a very interesting, informative, and educational Museum. The museum shares a lot of information regarding the "CLOTILDA-The Last Ship" that arrived in the U.S.A. and the Community of Africatown.

October 25, 2025 – Africatown Heritage House This was a really neat tour. The thing that amazed me the most was the beaded regalia—millions of beads covered each piece. I didn’t even know how the beads were made, so I asked, and they told me that the men of the towns created them from glass. I’m assuming the women did the embroidery. The pieces featuring snakes and a lion were absolutely stunning, as were the headpieces and the bags. The amount of time and effort that went into making these works of art was phenomenal. The stories shared during the walkthrough were powerful and moving. Thinking about these people being ripped from their homes and families, and treated like animals, was absolutely heartbreaking. This experience was a powerful reminder of where we once were as a nation and how far we’ve come and a call to never go down that kind of path again.

We did several museums in the Mobile area and this was by far the most educational. The lady at the desk is an actual descendant of a slave and she was a wealth of information. It is not very big but it serves its purpose well.

Such a fun food tour and I’ve been on plenty so I know a good one when I’m on one ;) Our guide was awesome! Beyond the food stops, she took us to a park, a special church, and a hotel with a secret! Food stops were good, the last food stop had a surprise waiting. You’ll walk for about 15 minutes after the first stop to your second destination, so grab a to go drink from the bar! This was a truly awesome experience filled with history, good food, and a few unexpected moments! All walking is on level ground, no stairs, dress according to weather and take lots of pics! We plan to bring our adult daughters back to check this out!

The separate men's and women's lounges provide privacy while the option for couples' massages is available. Guests can also enjoy a refreshing dip in the lap pool with a poolside bar. The hotel features a unique rooftop terrace and easy check-in process through the Marriott App.
This was a lovely hotel in downtown Mobile. The location is absolutely perfect for walking to grab dinner. The pool area is really wonderful for families with a splash pad and pool. My room was beautiful and clean. The pool was great. I did mobile check in with a mobile key to get into my room. It was the easiest most amazing process. No waiting in lines just valet and straight to your room. Plenty of restaurants and bars in walking distance. I will definitely return!!

Overall the hotel is good. We did have to change rooms due to the lack of privacy...we had a corner king in the far tower that had an adjoining room that shared the balcony. This was just not acceptable as I could hear the neighbors use the bathroom... View of the roof.... Next room was a corner king in the hotel tower. This room was better. I do have to agree that the room cleaning in between my nights was not that great. Left dirty towels on the floor, didn't refill the amenities. Left empty cups and trash... This could be improved. Service at front desk was also not the level I expect as a Platinum Elite member... I included pictures of the dinner we had at the Italian restaurant in the hotel .. Which was Awesome!!!!!
Melissa B — Google review
The hotel was beautiful and located in a great area close to lots of restaurants. The hotel restaurant had great bar tenders and service. The front desk staff was very welcoming and full of helpful information. The lobby coffee was delicious. Small details kept me from a 5 star rating. Bath towel was torn, sink drained really slow. Shower soap bottles were almost empty, didn’t pump well and were not the same brand. Greatest frustration is the air conditioning going off during the night making the room too warm.
Nanette H — Google review
This historic building has a beautiful lobby and large spacious rooms. There is live music in one of the lounges (piano) even on a Tuesday evening. The beds are comfortable and the hotel is upscale. The neighborhood it is in is walkable with many unique restaurants just 3-5 minutes away. I had a tower room with a great view of the harbor. Highly recommend staying here.
Chris N — Google review
This is supposed to be resort/spa hotel. They remind you that when they add the additional resort fee to your stay. There is indeed a spa, but I am far from impressed. I've stayed at many hotels across the globe. From East Asia to Europe to South West Asia, I do understand that each region has its own charm. With the local charm, accomidations can vary vastly. However, this one fell short of my basic expectations. My biggest complaints are the dispensation of information from the desk attendant and the cleanliness (or lack thereof) of the rooms. The cleanliness of the room was my second impression. The bathroom counter looked like it still had toothpaste smears from the previous traveler. EVERYTHING had dust on it. I understand that dust is inevitable, but this place clearly had not been dusted or wiped down in a while as it was on most visible surfaces. The air was inconsistent and did not seem to work well either. The bedding also looked like it was left over from a previous guest. The duvet was mostly smooth until you got to the top area where it looked like it had been repeatedly crumpled and then folded over. The pillows had stains all over them as well. They looked fine until we flipped a few over. Whole the room was less than desirable. I have to say that the worse part was the checkin. I understand that checking in late in the evening means you may meet a less than enthusiastic front desk. I try to provide an extra measure of patience and grace to hotel staff, as I understand that it can be challenging career. Furthermore, it can be even more challenging for some to dispense that warm welcome near the end of the night. However, information about breakfast, checkout, and parking should be provided without conflict. I have to admit, I'm not a fan of valet parking. While I was not happy about the hotel parking being valet ONLY, the valet team was welcoming and did a wonderful job of assisting us. So no complaints there. That is where the assistance ended. The attendant was brash and became visibly bothered when asked about a later checkout; to which she provide an inconclusive answer. I left for my room uncertain about breakfast or rather a later checkout existed at all. This place is portrayed as one of the more luxurious accommodations in town, but it's not. Aside from the grand ballroom and such, the rest is reminiscent of an upscale motel/value hotel. I am the type of traveler that values positive staff interaction and clean rooms over a grand entryway and pool. Clean rooms and helpful staff are chief and everything else is expected of a resort/spa style hotel; to elevate an already great experience. That did not happen here. I'm not sure if I will be back as I believe I can find much better accommodations.
T. L — Google review
Great hotel but had a security incident. Came back from work in the evening to see my room door open. Reported it to the front desk and they checked with security to tell me that the security camera on that floor was turned off for some reason. They told me that this was being investigated and they would get back to me by checking the key card lock history but no one got back to me. Didn’t feel safe staying there after the incident nor how it was handled by front desk with no urgency.

Spot of Tea, located in a circa-1836 building, offers five themed venues and a diverse menu ranging from American cafe fare to British high tea. The restaurant is situated in Cathedral Square, providing a beautiful setting for breakfast before embarking on the City of Mobile Trolley Tour to learn about the city's rich history and modern culture. Families can also explore Mobile's GulfQuest/National Maritime Museum in the afternoon.
I used to live in Mobile a little over 10 years ago. My friends and I used to patronize the Spot of Tea almost every weekend. Upon a recent trip to Mobile, I saw that the Spot of Tea was reopening the same day I came back into town! I HAD to visit and it did not disappoint! Since living in Mobile I have developed a gluten sensitivity and am now gluten free. This changes where I can eat and most importantly, what I can eat. The Spot of Tea owner, Tony Moore, overheard my questions about not having a gluten free menu. He inquired what I like to eat and directed his staff so that I had a wonderful meal. I had a bowl of grits topped with scrambled eggs and very well seasoned grilled chicken and a side of cheddar cheese. Yum!! After our meal, Tony inquired about our satisfaction especially my gluten free option. He told me that he would be looking into ways to accommodate diners who need or want to see gluten free options. It was so refreshing to have such an attentive experience from the owner! I can’t wait to visit again! Thank you, Tony and Spot of Tea staff. If felt like old times visiting again. It was the highlight of our trip.

My guest and I absolutely enjoyed the food at Spot of Tea. From the moment we entered, we were greeted by friendly waitresses and a gentleman, I think, was the manager. There is definitely ol school service, and I love that about the restaurant. The waitresses were very descriptive of the menu and honestly were also fun to talk to. Our waitress "Shea" ( I hope I got her name right) was top-notch. She checked our table so much I had to stop her from refilling my coffee. I say this with a huge smile because of how much I love great customer service. I had the Cajun Shrimp and Grits. My guest had The Eggs Cathedral. When I say both were delicious, lord hammercy, I ain't lying! The Egg Cathedral was a delicious English muffin, topped with a crab cake, scrambled eggs, topped with a seafood sauce with blackened Grouper, Crawfish, Jumbo Shrimp and hashbrowns You heard me right. It was delicious. My Cajon Shrimp and Grits were cheesy, loaded with savory sausage, and, of course, shrimp. The voodoo sauce and green peppers added the perfect touch. Don't walk, run, and get some of that tasty goodness I enjoyed. Oopsies, I forgot to say they have good coffee too.
Dee C — Google review
Atmosphere: The service was excellent, ignore all the 1 star reviews. They are more about the reviewers than the restaurant; our only complaint was that my wife and I had to wait over 15 minutes from getting our menus to being able to order. Service: But if you have some patience, it's well worth the wait. Of course if you come in with a group of 10 or 20 people, you're going to overwhelm their resources. Food: The toast was very buttery, which was unappetizing, but otherwise the food was excellent. Their new chicken and waffles were hot and delicious, and I liked the freedom of their Choose Your Own Breakfast option.
Brandon D — Google review
We are in town for some concerts at the Civic Center. We decided to take the short walk to this little restaurant for breakfast. It was an excellent breakfast, but a bit more than I could eat. You definitely get plenty to eat! The staff was very friendly, as we chatted with some of them. If you're in town, be sure to check them out. Come hungry and you'll leave full!
Thomas F — Google review
I wish I had more time to spend there, but in the short time I had, I enjoyed my experience. Beware though if you order over easy eggs. They may come out overcooked while the bacon in my opinion was undercooked. They corrected both without an issue. My son's BLT was perfection in his opinion and he appreciated the soup that came with it. Our server was helpful in explaining the menu and overall attentive.
Terry C — Google review
I honestly wasn't impressed with my plate, it wasn't seasoned, I honestly left 80% of my food on the plate, so maybe I should have ordered something else. However our waitress Cindy was the absolute best, she was a Sweetie, so that made our visit exceptional.
Heather W — Google review
A beautiful and unfussy American café with whiffs of French Louisianian vibes. The place can get packed, especially on the weekends, and can take a while to get a table, but it's worth it. Service is pretty good and homely (thank you Heather!) and the food is just as great. The Eggs Cathedral, in particular, are a huge portion of delicious food. Worth checking out at least once if you're in town!

Restaurant
The Noble South is a charming eatery located in Mobile, Alabama, offering inventive Southern-inspired cuisine and cocktails in a rustic-chic setting. Chef Chris Rainosek proudly emphasizes relationships with local farmers and suppliers to create excellent value plate lunches, ambitious Meatless Mondays, brunches, and dinners. The restaurant reimagines classic Southern dishes using fresh local ingredients and offers an extensive bourbon list.
I had the pleasure of having lunch at The Noble South in Mobile, Alabama, with a few of my colleagues, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is charming—stylish yet comfortable—and perfect for a midday break or a casual business lunch. I ordered the blackened catfish, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. It came with a crisp kale salad and some delicious fried potatoes—simple sides done exceptionally well. Portion sizes were satisfying without being overwhelming. The service was warm and attentive, and our meals came out in great time, even though the restaurant was nicely busy. It’s always a treat to find a place that delivers both quality food and a great vibe. We left feeling happy, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend!

Ordered all 6 dinner dishes they had and every one of them was delicious. Everything was unique compared to other restaurants. Each dish has at least 4 flavors going on, all complimenting each other. I'd say the best was either the duck or the shrimp and grits. But the short ribs was a top notch piece of meat cooked just right. And the peaches and cream dessert was awesome.
Alan W — Google review
An amazing experience of a farm to fresh restaurant with a focus on Southern Cuisine. The shrimp and grits were to die for and they accommodated my partner with a sweet potato dish that is normally an appetizer as an entrée. She could not stop raving about it, which is a huge compliment since she owns a French restaurant. I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.
Stan E — Google review
I’ve been to Noble South several times, and the food has always been the highlight. Their dishes feel authentic, and their double cheeseburger is easily one of the top two in Mobile. I still can’t decide if it beats Haberdasher, but it’s close. This visit, though, was a letdown. I showed up around 1:35p.m. without realizing they close at 2. No one mentioned it, which would’ve helped set expectations. Service felt rushed from the start. My first water glass smelled strongly of bleach. The replacement glass was stained and still smelled like red wine. I love red wine, so I let it go, but it shouldn’t happen in a place like this. After the burgers came out, our server immediately asked if we wanted to split the check—no “Do you need anything else?”, no offer for dessert. That made it pretty clear they were ready to wrap up for the day. If they had simply told us the kitchen was closing soon, we would’ve ordered quicker or chosen another spot so we weren’t keeping anyone late. One more thing: the AC was blasting so cold that we were freezing the entire time, which didn’t help the experience. Great food, consistently mediocre service this time. I’ll come back for the burger, but I hope the hospitality matches the quality of the kitchen on my next visit.

We were looking for an excuse do take a road trip from northern Florida to Alabama and once we saw that Noble South in Mobile receiver the 2025 Michelin First place recognition in the American South award, we headed that way. First stop, Noble South was indeed worth the journey. This small, relatively simple setting created food that was most especially wonderful. From the service, to presentation, to variety and to taste; 5 Star for sure. We ordered the chicken liver mouse and the Duck leg confit both of which were well worth the trip. Got an opportunity to spend some time with owner Chris Rainosek and even ventured into the small kitchen to directly thank and congratulate the chiefs for their exemplary creations. This farm to table restaurant in a Southern tradition was a true find and one very worthy of your visit. Tomzi

Stopped here for dinner as the menu sounded really interesting. We got a good spread and overall it was good. The small plates and appetizers seem to be where they shine. The dinner and the dessert were good but not amazing. We found them to be a little bland but it could have just been an off night. The location is very nice and the atmosphere is adorable. We found the staff very friendly and accommodating. We ordered the deviled eggs ( delicious) , the pickled shrimp (delicious), the blue cheese jam sourdough (good the blue cheese was a little strong to me but the bread was excellent), the hot honey fried game bird ( excellent), shrimp and grits (good a little bland) , the swordfish schnitzel (good a little bland as well and heavy), apple cobbler ( good) and the banana pudding (ok we didn't like it very much but it wasn't bad). Overall a cool place to stop and we really liked the atmosphere, apps and small plates.

Really delicious and great atmosphere! I am sensitive to salt and sometimes dishes can be too salty for me. This was not the case! Flavors of each ingredient was pure and clean. The dessert, tres leches, was nicely spiced too!!

Nestled in the vibrant entertainment district of downtown Mobile, Crescent Theater offers a charming and intimate movie-watching experience. This single-screen venue is perfect for film enthusiasts seeking both independent gems and mainstream blockbusters. With plush reclining seats that invite you to relax, guests can enjoy a delightful selection of snacks including popcorn, beer, and wine while immersing themselves in captivating stories on screen. Run by a dedicated husband-and-wife team, this cozy theater prides itself on showcasing excellent films with top-notch sound quality.
I’m new to Mobile and I just wanted to go see any movie, wherever. I saw Sinners was still showing here and figured since it was a weekday I would buy tickets when I show up. I wasn’t expecting the small lobby and one man operation and I’m glad I stuck with it. Movie price was a steal. Popcorn and a coke were a few dollars. My experience may have been unique but it was great for me. The person working, who I think was the owner, hit the lights for the theater and sent me in. The seats were classic style movie theater seats. The place was clean. I don’t think there was one trailer, we just started up the movie. Quality of the film was great. When the credits rolled I started walking out and the owner advised I go back in for after credits (I’m glad because they were worth it). On the way out we chatted about the movie for a minute and I could tell he was passionate about film. I exited out onto Dauphin and grabbed some drinks and wished everything was always this convenient. The location is excellent, and the owner was very hospitable. I hope people catch on to this bargain and this place gets the attendance it deserves.

This is a great one screen theater! The first couple rows of seating are recliners. The are comfortable but kind of close together. The movie starts promptly at the times stated, 2, 6 & 8 pm. The staff is friendly. There are light concessions but the theater serves beer and wine! Not a place you would bring young children, all of the movies I've seen advertised are rated PG-13 or R. I would recommend this as a cool little spot to check out with friends or if you're on a date downtown.

I went to see a showing of a movie called Southern Village! The experience was amazing, Zeke (owner) is over flowing with hospitality. If you’re from Mobile, or in town visiting, Crescent Theater has a comedy night for good date night.

Blast to the past, a theater that has all the upgrades but has remained true to its' roots. And... the wine selection is excellent. We were visiting from Phoenix and the owner greeted us with hospitality. What a great find!

Super cute and historic local one-screen theater! 🎬🍿 I stopped in to see a 7:45 PM show on a Monday about 15 minutes late, but the projector had been turned off because no one else showed up :( It would’ve taken too long to fire up the projector again, but the owner was lovely to chat with for a while. He’s a Mobile native and very enthusiastic about bringing life to this historic theater, which he recently reopened. He is also making an effort to show movies made in the region. If I weren’t leaving the next morning, I absolutely would’ve come back the next day. I recommend buying tickets ahead of time online to make sure you get a seat, especially if you may be late. In a world of large chain theaters, it’s fantastic to have a mom-and-pop theater where you can chat with a neighbor about local film history. The residents of Mobile are lucky to have this place in their backyard! It’d be worth taking the time to watch a movie if you’re in the area.

I absolutely love this place. My wife and I love to go here for a movie without all the big box crowds, it is an original theater, always friendly staff, prices are down to earth, comfortable seating, even recliners down front if you want. It is Downtown on Dauphin and you can spend time here before or after the show. If you haven't been you are missing a treat.
Jerry C — Google review
The staff was very friendly. The building itself had a nice vibe. I'd never been to a stand up comedy show before, and I wound up having a good time.

Really great experience! Decided to see Everything Everywhere All At Once during the afternoon and stopped in for a 2PM showing. Met the owner, had a nice chat about the movie and where I'm from. One bag of popcorn, a beer and a great movie later I can definitely say I'll be coming back to visit again soon. This place is small with just 1 theater room, a few recliners up front and simple stadium seating behind. It's super cozy, friendly, and locally owned.

Taco restaurant
Roosters is a vibrant addition to the dining scene on Dauphin Street in Mobile, offering a casual atmosphere with picnic tables and a menu filled with Latin American delights. The restaurant is known for its delectable tacos and burritos, as well as refreshing margaritas. Whether you're in the mood for Al Pastor tacos with Pineapple and Mango/Habanero Salsa or Caribbean jerk chicken, Roosters has something to satisfy your cravings.
Saw Roosters on all kinds of dining lists for Mobile, so had to try it out. We were not disappointed! Went for dinner around 5 on a Saturday night and it was half full, no problem finding a table. Couple tables outside on a small patio, too. Staff were friendly, and food was ready in good time. Note that you cannot mix and match individual tacos for a taco plate if you want the deal! Ordered a Rooster Sunrise margarita, 2 chorizo tacos, 1 jerk chicken taco, 2 al pastor tacos, and sides of plantains and chips w/ queso. All were excellent. Loved that they jave a hot sauce and toppings bar to further customize, too. The plaintains on the chorizo tacos were inspired!

Went down on a busy Saturday night while artists in the park was on display. No street parking, only parking garage in rear at a cost of $10-25. Waitress was not dressed very professionally but atmosphere was very casual. Waitress was not patient with new customers. Restaurant was hot and sweaty. Chips and salsa was not bottomless and was saltless and very bland. Customer ant the table ordered guacamole dip, no salt and chips were very thick. Owner personally heated up some chips for one of the customers with me at my table and confessed he didn’t have the proper equipment to keep the chips warm, it was ordered. After we got the new chips, we felt sorry for the other customers that were being served cold, thick, and bland chips. Brisket Burrito was good, split in two as a courtesy. Manager only compensated for the bland guacamole and offered no other refunds/menu changes for the meal. Felt the meal was over priced under seasoned and not worth the jog downtown. 2/10 stars

The place looked great, but I'm not sure that the food was worthy of the price it cost. It wasn't bad by any means, but I wouldn't want to pay what I did to get it. I also was not a fan of the tortilla chips, personally. Too thick and almost bready. My friend and her family love this place though (she was here and she downed her whole plate before everyone else), so I certainly don't speak for everyone in sharing my thought on this one. Loved the exterior and interior design. Lots of hanging decor, wall decorations of various items, a hot sauce bar, wall decor in the bathroom, and neon lights outside when it gets dark! They also have outdoor and indoor seating! I'd say if you like Mexican food, it's at least worth a shot!
Xzavier — Google review
Let me start by saying the Surf and Turf burrito was amazing and I loved it. But, the chips were terrible and way too expensive. Their chips were very hard and not near as good as the free chips at most Mexican restaurants. The guacamole was just mediocre. Not bad but not great. For $9, the chips and guac should have been great. The salsa on the salsa bar was not good. My wife has egg and dairy allergies so she had to get something without cheese. She ordered a burrito with chicken and veggies. They forgot to put the veggies in the burrito. Apparently, the cheese gives the burrito all the flavor as her burrito was very bland and she didn't enjoy it. The restaurant was packed when we got there so we had to wait 30 mins and then were sat outside. The service was also very slow. Unfortunately, someone was smoking near us outside which was not enjoyable. Not the restaurant's fault but did not help our experience. I would come back for the Surf and Turf burrito but that's about it.

Saw this on DDD several years ago and was excited to finally be in the area to try it. We were beyond disappointed. Chips were hard as rock with no flavor to the salsa. The mahi, shrimp, and jerk chicken tacos were bland. Only things that were any good were the brisket, cheese dip, and guac. It took over 20 minutes after we finished eating to get our check. They were not that busy.

I had a fantastic meal at Roosters in downtown Mobile! From start to finish, everything was top notch. The menu features a mix of Latin American / Caribbean / Mexican fare — tacos, burritos, grilled mahi mahi, jerk chicken, barbacoa, and more. The flavors were bold and fresh, and I especially loved how they do simple toppings like onion, cilantro, and cotija on their authentic street-style tacos. The portion sizes are generous, and prices are fair for the quality and downtown location. What really stood out was the service — friendly, welcoming, attentive without being overbearing. The staff made sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed, with vibrant décor that fits the energy of the food. If you’re in Mobile and looking for a spot for tasty tacos, Latin fusion, or just a satisfying downtown meal, Roosters is a winner. Highly recommended!

The Three Georges Candy store in downtown Mobile is a historic location with a fine ice cream bar and serves milkshakes as well. This candy store started out as a general store in 1917 and has been around for many years, selling delicious candies and chocolates. It's a great place to go for a sweet treat!
Three George’s is my favorite place to go for candies. As a local I have been coming for years and it never disappoints. Some times I’ll call ahead and get them to dip gummies bears in milk chocolate because that is the best! Now, I that I have a child I bring her to enjoy. I love the old look and the vibe of Three George’s. The staff is amazing and it’s always clean!

I recently had some of their ice cream (frigging outstanding), I've had some of their sweets (awesome), and I ate lunch years ago. I do remember the lunch being very good. I think I had a chicken salad sandwich and I remember basically licking my plate clean. So everything I've tried at 3 Georges has been outstanding. The people working are a blast to talk to and ready to assist in any way. I can not wait to go back!!

We had the best visit into Three Georges Candy shop. Evelyn not only made us the best ice cream sundae ever but she took the time to share a little history of the shop. I really enjoyed learning about it. It was such a wonderful step back in time. The shop was founded n 1917 and you can see in the pictures it still has the original cabinets, glass shelves, floor, mirrors etc. Most of the jars and glassware are original to the store. Whether you enjoy history or not...you will enjoy a stop into this wonderful place.

Despite its age, the center's staff are praised for their friendliness and helpfulness during events.
I have been coming here throughout my whole life. My mind is always filled with memories of the past when I come here. It will always be a special place to me where my being is transported into magical worlds or ballet and theater. I would love to praise the staff that was there last night. Especially the young girl managing the upstairs chaos of people. She was so very cheerful and kind. The security guard my family and I interacted with upstairs was very kind also. I would love to see the theater get upgrades. It is nice, but I would love to see it even nicer. I will always love coming here. ❤️

Scored some front row seats. WASTE. People from the seats were able to come stand in front of the front row...I had to stand at the gate all night body blocking to save our spots. Security is a joke. They dgaf and will do nothing. It would be one thing if it was pit...this was rows of chairs...with maybe 3 ft of room up front. That 3ft stayed full. Now if you want that type of venue this is for you. No food and the card readers kept failing. Glad I brought cash! But this venue is definitely one of those do what you want types so don't waste $$$ on good seats. Just go stand there. Good thing it was such a good lineup. Also meet n greets areas need updating...eww. And why no food?

The Civic Center Theatre was nice to watch the Nutcracker ballet :) It was definitely a fairly large theatre, with nice staff and fairly comfortable seats. The theatre did seem a bit old, with a slight odor like of old furniture. I think the walls could be a little more decorated, as they were just plain matte dark blue. The spotlight coming from the top of the theatre was also emitting more light on the balcony than I would have expected, though I did sit near the top of the balcony area. Lastly, I think the sound system could have been more surround and better quality, as the ballet played the music for the Nutcracker rather than having live music. Overall, it was a nice experience and only a few things that could be improved ^^

The cruise offers an array of themed experiences including casual dinner cruises, live music nights, comedy murder mysteries, and family-friendly princess and pirate adventures.
We did the sunset dinner cruise, and it was terrific! We enjoyed the view of the USS United States and the southern part of the river. The musical duet was fantastic. Lots of dancing and singing along. The crew was excellent- friendly and informative. Marley went far and beyond taking care of our needs. Food was food no big deal, otherwise a perfect evening!

Cruise was great. Although very interesting amongst the large ships and cargo vessels, kinda wish it was more out of the industrial back drop. Music was nice. Dinner appropriate music followed by "stepping it up" for the later evening. Dinner could have been better. Chicken was dry and tough (but edible). Possible a little more sauce drizzled on top to offset the dry. Shrimp was shrimp. Wild rice and green beans were as expected (right in the rating middle). Dessert could have been better. Some sort of blackberry cobbler. All in all it was nice evening. We enjoyed it and will be returning for the show cruise.

This was such a fun experience! We were staying in Pensacola and this was just about an hour or so away from our Airbnb. We went on the Ghost Tour at 6:30 p.m. on a Thursday evening. It was on the second deck and we had great views of each side of the river. Our tour guide Noelle did an excellent job telling us all of the haunted stories of Mobile. We also got to see the SS United States before they sink it. This was a great experience and if you’re in the Mobile area, this is definitely worth checking out!

We loved our experience on the 3:00 cruise of the Mobile Bay. Our guide was very conversant and informative. We learned so much about the shipping industry as it touches Mobile, AL and, honestly, our world. We chose this particular cruise as it was at a time when we could see the ships—specifically the SS United States. We were blessed to meet and view the pictures and video of a lady who shared her experience of sailing on the United States as an eleven-year-old. What a treat!!

We went on a Saturday 3 pm scenic cruise. Our cruise director, John, shared many facts about all of the ships that we were seeing in the shipyards along the river. Important Note: They are only open on the /first Saturday/ of every month. We were unable to visit, as we weren't aware of this until we arrived, but will definitely be returning and updating this review once we've had the chance to actually enter. The outside, for what it's worth, was EXTREMELY beautiful. The entrance is only accessible from the sidewalk along the main road, so we did circle a couple of times before we realized we'd already passed it. [We parked at the medical facility next door, but I might choose a different lot next time so as not to take parking from patients, etc.] We wandered around after discovering it was closed and realized their garden, which looked well kept, was full of various plants labeled with their respective taxonomy and medical uses, such as the symptoms and illnesses they were used to treat. Super interesting!! So even though we didn't actually get to see the inside of the museum itself, we found it to be a really cool and educational spot to visit. The building itself is also quite pretty. It and the grounds are obviously well looked after, and we look forward to the chance to seeing how that care is applied to the curation and upkeep of the museum's (mysterious) interior. *The only reason for my 4 vs 5 star rating is the fact that I only saw the outside, unfortunately. I will return with the fifth star once I've had the pleasure. Hoping the hours can be updated in some way to reflect the "first Saturday of the month" caveat.* Edit: The kind people who run the museum have confirmed that their hours are provided in specific detail on their direct site, and unfortunately Google doesn't have a format to support the details of their weekend hours. Looking forward to the first Saturday of my next month in Mobile!

The shop's walls are adorned with vintage memorabilia that tell stories of its rich history, creating an inviting atmosphere that transports you back in time.
This shop is very clearly an institution. Go because it has good, yummy products. Just don’t wonder too hard about the last time the place had a thorough cleaning. We got creole peanuts (generously warm spice but nice) and macaroons (SO delicious). The woman behind the counter was friendly, and I’d gladly return to give her business and grab some more macaroons.

It’s a must & should for every trip to Mobile! The hot roasted peanuts are always fresh and tasty. People love the mix of chocolates and nuts. Come by and enjoy a treat🥰

Great peanut shop that has been here very long time. They have more than peanuts 🥜 if you are in the area, stop by and read some of the pictures that tells the story of the store :)

I really liked the chocolate covered almonds. The chocolate was just enough in covering the almonds. My husband liked the roasted peanuts.

I visited one of my favorite downtown locations yesterday. You really haven't been to downtown Mobile without a visit to Bienville's famous peanut shop. First of all, you will enjoy seeing the peanut roasting machine and trying the freshly roasted nuts. Then walk the candy aisle to see not only so many kinds of chocolates and peanuts but some vintage candy as well. Everytime I am here, just like yesterday, the staff has been pleasant and helpful.

Very nice people. Can not get past how dirty and grimey the place is. Peanuts just mediocre. Bought several different types of nuts and most tasted Smokey. Hard pass

Las Floriditas is a basement speakeasy that pays tribute to the birthplace of the daiquiri. Accessible by a secret password, this hidden gem offers signature cocktails and eclectic Cuban-inspired dishes. Named after Ernest Hemingway's favorite bar in Havana, it exudes refinement and mystery. The classy chill vibes, great music, and attentive service make for an unforgettable experience.
Fun place to go hang out and have a drink. This is a Cuban style speakeasy. Have the password and enter. Suggestion is if you want a table on a weekend, make a reservation. Limited seating at the bar and standing room only. Live music was great.
Melissa B — Google review
My group of friends decided to come to this establishment to celebrate one of the girls birthdays. It came at my suggestion as I’ve been to this bar several times and enjoyed it completely. The atmosphere is super cool and the speakeasy concept is one that I think is very unique for Mobile. My friends and I arrived around 10:30 (an hour and a half before they closed which was confirmed by our server) and received great service from our server (who only provided exceptional service and made the birthday girls experience great). Unfortunately, once we had a first round and had been talking amongst our tables, a drink was accidentally spilled. The group attempted to clean the spill as quickly and quietly as possible and had to ask three times for a towel to be brought to our table so we could clean it. Everyone in our group had only had one drink and it was very clearly an accident. We were very apologetic and thankful for the young lady that came to help us. After the spill was cleaned (still 30 minutes before close) the bartender motioned at our table and made an overt gesture to cut us off and no longer serve our table. The entire table was made up of those who work in the service industry and it was very disappointing to see employees of a nice and well respected establish treat us with blatant disrespect. It was very obvious that no one within our group was intoxicated and the result of a simple mistake was the cause of embarrassment for our group in front of the entire establishment from those working. I do not know that I will be returning to this establishment, which is very unfortunate as I have been several times and have recommended it to countless people. There is absolutely no reason guests should be subjected to public embarrassment given that the bartender is no longer interested in serving drinks within operating hours. Very disappointed and I hope staff with consider guest experience in the future as it’s obviously not a priority.

Overall a nice place. Staff are nice. The atmosphere is great. Food is a little off, but not bad. I liked the yucca and plantain chips, but I feel they might have come from a bag. I would go back.

One of our favorite places to eat a nice cuban meal. The Tapas Tres Pillars are delicious. Our go to entree is the Arroz con Pollo. We also love the cuban sandwich. The after dinner coffees are a must have. If you’re a chocolate lover then the Cuban coffee chocolate mousse desert is a great way to end the night.

First visit, stopped in for Happy Hour, sat at bar. Tried bean dip (OK) and Cuban sandwich (pretty good). Had Cuba Libres and wine, which was half off for Wednesday karaoke night. Our server Marlee was great. Fun vibe as speakeasy with converted bank vault. Definitely plan return visit!

I absolutely LOVED this place! The atmosphere, entry, staff, good, drinks, and music was AMAZING! The good and drinks are so flavorful and the staff is attentive, professional, and kind. We spent more time there than we usually do at a restaurant and we were never rushed. It would be great for them to add one more server/bartender for the 8p+ shift because service declined after the restaurant and bar were full. I will definitely be back. This is my new favorite place!

Gorgeous bar in the old bank vault! Wonderful, friendly service from Marley and the guy on the door, and a super good value happy hour. Made for a great evening all round, would highly recommend!

Excellent space! Food, service and music was amazing (saxophone player). This is one of the better places to go for night life in downtown Mobile. I’ll be back for sure. I took off one star for atmosphere for two reasons; lighting, which was too bright for night life, and seating, which is awkward and not comfortable. They just need a good interior designer to come in and re-imagine the space to work for a lounge/restaurant inside an old safe room. Difficult, but not impossible. Other than that, it was great! I know I’m a hard judge, but I’m strong believer if you don’t tell people how you truly experienced the space, they don’t know! Great place to go though!

Tucked away in the charming Detonti Square Historic District, Nova Espresso stands out as a visually stunning coffee haven in Mobile. With its warm earthy hues contrasting against sleek white walls and adorned with vibrant greenery, this café exudes an inviting atmosphere. The chic furnishings and trendy light fixtures create a perfect backdrop for everything from casual meetings to solo study sessions.
We stopped for a quick bathroom break on our way home from the beach and ended up wishing we could stay longer. Nova had immaculate vibes, shady trees, a great outdoor space with a taco truck, and zero wait. The cortado was perfect—smooth, balanced, exactly what I needed. Solid spot all around. Would recommend!
Justin P — Google review
Great specialty coffee shop! It seems like they lean third-wave but also offer a little something for everyone. I tried one of the fall seasonals — “Siena,” molasses and orange — half sweet as a hot latte for here, and it was really tasty. As a barista, it’s easy for me to be disappointed at other coffee shops, but the execution on my drink was great and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Even though it took a while to order on a Saturday as it was quite busy, my drink was ready very quickly. And I really enjoyed the atmosphere as a hangout or study space. Nova was recommended to me by several friends and I agree — you’ve got to check this spot out when in Mobile! Back when I used to come visit the area in high school there were no good coffee shops around, so I’m very happy there have been a few additions to the coffee scene since I last visited!

This is a great place to get coffee. This is the kind of place you just make your coffee shop and forget all the others. While there are an abundance of coffee shops these days, not many of them, A. Have Cortados and B. Have the skill to actually make one well. The owner, Tim, was incredibly kind and very skilled. We came through from out of state and anytime I’m rolling through Mobile, I’m stopping here. Thanks Cortado King of Alabama!

New favorite coffee place! I have found very few coffee shops in Mobile that have genuine real coffee. If you don't have coffee breath, it isn't real coffee! From the smell of the beans being ground, to the taste of the espresso, it's all amazing! I appreciate that when I ordered a flat white I was not asked what size I wanted because a flat white should only be one size! I love the employees, I love the atmosphere. I will be back!

It's such a beautiful historical building. Its location is a walkable, friendly area. To my knowledge, there are no elevators, so if your seats are on the 3rd floor. You will be climbing stairs, but also, when you reach each level, there is a little short walk to the next set of stairs (to catch your breath) before you continue up. Seating is a tight fit. The staircase is beautiful. The chandelier and some of the lighting were beautiful as well Bathrooms could use an update, but it is an old building, so just keep that in mind. Staff is very friendly and helpful, drinks were good. We will go back, but not on the 3rd level We were there for a concert and it didn't disappoint Happy birthday, Alice Cooper 🎉

Beautiful theater, it's been a minute since I've been in a proper auditorium. I haven't had a chance to see the Saenger theater in NOLA yet, so this was my first experience. Came to see my spiritual advisor Alton Brown on his final tour. It was such an awesome experience, I wish I had seen some of his previous shows. Theater staff was pleasant and efficient getting everyone through security and seating. Concession prices are what you would expect. There's paid street parking and a pay lot around the corner.

I had an iconic experience at "The Price Is Right" game show in Alabama at the Saenger Theatre in Mobile! It was such a fun outing with my mom, dad, grandma, aunt, uncle, and friends. The atmosphere was electric, and being part of the live audience was unforgettable. I loved sharing this special moment with my family and friends—it made the experience even more memorable. Highly recommend attending if you ever get the chance!

What an awful experience. We came to Mobile to see a show at the theater, took and Uber from dinner, and arrived to discover no purses were allowed. Myself and other women were yelled at as though we should have known. "NO PURSES! CLEAR BAGS ONLY! CLEAR BAGS ONLY!" Another yelled, "YOU HAVE 2O MINUTES TO FIGURE IT OUT!" If you arrived in your vehicle you might be able to walk back to your car in enough time to leave your purse, but if you arrived by cab, Uber, or limo even, you were out of luck. There were no other options. How are so many people so angry about something we weren't warned about ahead of time. We were coming from a lovely dinner at Hummingbird Way, well dressed for a nice night out, polite, and confused— with little time to rectify an odd situation that required us to have a 'clear bag' instead of a purse, to enter the venue— while being treated like errant school children. Perhaps the theater could put something on the front page of their website. As of now you would have to navigate to the— things you should know frequently asked questions— on purpose. It will be some time before we attend any event at this venue. They need to fix their security issue, which appears they are making very little effort to fix. In addition, this is the south, perhaps we should treat adults with some semblance of respect.
Sandy N — Google review
I've now seen two shows at the Historic Saenger Theatre and it is a very nice place to see a show. It is old but that is all part of the nostalgia. The balcony seats are super cramped but what do you expect for the cheap seats in an old Theatre? Their drinks and cocktails are expensive so plan on dropping $$$ on a date or for the family. For a more comfortable experience, buy tickets for downstairs seats or box seats.
Charles H — Google review
The place was dusty and had eletrical issues while we were there . . Seats are not made for bigger people, especially in the upper levels show we saw was great after issues were resolved

It is a great place to see a concert. Easy to walk to if staying at a hotel downtown. Seats comfortable .Sound is great. Ticketmaster screwed up our seats..so we had none. Our team at work went to The Haberdasher for drinks and some food. I had never been to The Haberdasher but I’ve heard it was good. Since I’m not much drinker I was there solely for the food. Our team a bunch of appetizers and I tried to try them all. There also was first thing that I tried was the French fries. I enjoyed them. They came with a mayo sauce. Not a big mayo on fries fan but it worked. I then tried the Brussels sprouts. Not sure what they were seasoned with but they tasted pretty good. Next was the chicken tenders. I dipped them in what seemed like a chili sauce. It had a lot of spice but it tasted good. The mahi mahi slider was next. It was my favorite appetizer. It was cooked to perfection and the sauce on the slider was very tasty. After that was the fish part of the fish and chips. I think the fish was cod. I was impressed by it. It wasn’t better than the mahi mahi but it was good. The last thing I tried were the avocado fries. I really like them. To be honest if I wasn’t full from the other food I would’ve eaten more of the avocado fries.

The Haberdasher is a renowned craft cocktail bar and gastropub located at 113 Dauphin Street in downtown Mobile, Alabama. Known for its speakeasy-inspired ambiance and exceptional drink offerings, it has become a staple in Mobile’s nightlife scene. Service is typically efficient, with patrons ordering drinks directly from the bar and food from a separate kitchen window. While this setup may be unconventional, it contributes to the bar’s unique charm. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, often offering personalized drink recommendations.

I stopped in yesterday (10/28/25) around 7:15PM and ordered the ribeye (medium rare). Whoever was behind that grill deserves a trophy, a raise, and possibly their own holiday. That steak wasn’t just good, it was life-altering. Hands down, the best I’ve ever had, not just in Mobile but anywhere. The temperature was spot on, the flavor was flawless, and I swear I considered calling the kitchen mid-bite just to personally thank whoever seasoned it. For my side, I swapped the fries for Brussels sprouts (a bold move that paid off big-time). They were roasted to perfection, beautifully seasoned, and might just make me a vegetable believer. All in all, that meal was so good I’m still thinking about it today (at 4AM). And the best part? I have leftovers. Let’s just say I’ve never looked forward to reheating something with this much excitement.

Cathedral Square, once a Catholic cemetery in the 18th century, has transformed into a vibrant gathering place with fountains, green spaces, and various events. It is an ideal spot to start the day with breakfast before embarking on a City of Mobile Trolley Tour that offers insights into the city's rich history and modern culture. The square also provides an opportunity for families to explore Mobile's GulfQuest/National Maritime Museum.
Nice small park with benches in front of Dauphin Street & Spot of Tea. Directly in front of a beautiful Catholic Church. FYI this place was originally the first cemetery in Mobile. I read on a website that they moved some, but not all the bodies to either the Church Street Graveyard or Magnolia Cemetary back in the 1700’s or 1800’s.

The longer tour option allows for photo stops and more educational insights about the area.
We had our airboat adventure today in Spanish Fort, Alabama. Mark our captain/tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area. He took his time to explain and answer all of our questions. We saw a couple of gators and baby gators 🐊 as well as different kinds of birds 🦅, 🦆 Boat is very clean and well maintain. We felt safe the whole ride. Highly recommend 10/10.

This tour was amazing!! My friend and I booked this very last minute and I cannot emphasize how much fun we had, our guide was incredible and so intelligent! Saw a couple gators, learned so much, and had a blast!! Remember when booking that if you book the “fun run” you will not stop for wildlife, you need to book the “eco” option if you want to stop and see the animals and plants. Over all 11/10 in my opinion and will be back again!! Thanks so much Airboat Adventures!!

Vacation 2023, July 19 was one of the funnest, family adventure days we've ever had, thanks to Captain Mark. There were 4 in our family group, 3 adults and our 6 year old. We booked the 1 hour eco/nature tour. We wanted to book back to back with the Fun Run tour but sadly that time slot was already booked. But we were told that the eco tour had it's share of fast turns zipping through the swamp. We definitely were not disappointed. There were several times we found ourselves "flying" safely through the swamp, expertly maneuvered by Captain Mark. We made several stops along the way through out the swamp exploring the different flaura, fauna & creatures. Mark explaining all about it & patiently answering questions, especially from our 6 year old. We stopped in the middle of a bunch of Lotus lilies. He picked one for our son while explaining about the lilies if the swamp. We stopped and explored creatures and viewing nesting birds. Fortunately we were treated with seeing several alligators along the way. We will definitely be back for vacation 2024 & this time we'll be sure to book the eco tour & the fun run back to back! Captain Mark, you rock!

The USS Drum, located at Battleship Memorial Park in Mobile, Alabama, is America's oldest submarine on display. Launched in 1941 and decommissioned in 1946, it served in WWII before opening as a memorial in 1969. Visitors can explore the petite submarine with tight quarters and experience the history firsthand. The well-preserved vessel offers a glimpse into life aboard a WWII submarine through detailed exhibits and knowledgeable guides.
First US submarine to enter WWII. This is now an amazing museum for the public to see firsthand topside and inside that shows how the crew lived and worked. The spaces inside are small and sometimes body dexterity is required to walk through various chambers. An amazing experience and gives one a glimpse of what it was like living in a submarine. Very much loved everything about this self tour!
Reuben R — Google review
This is the second submarine I've had a chance to visit and I highly recommend visiting the USS Drum to everyone. Built in 1940, this is petite. The quarters are tight and you have to appreciate the space available. I'm on the tall side and I had to literally lift my knees darn near to my chest to get through the port holes. So much history is in this submarine. The restoration of this vessel is amazing. The hubs and I stopped a number of times to talk through scenarios. Again, this is a self guided tour, but I say you can spend about 30 minutes in this submarine. Something to note: you have to climb stairs to get to the submarine entrance. You're also going down a small, narrow set of stairs to enter and exit. There were a few times where my backpack got caught on a few things. It's tight but worth it.
Gwendolyn H — Google review
The USS Drum is a super cool exhibit at the USS Alabama site. On the day we visited, there were young people in period uniforms on board, answering questions. The submarine is fully dressed as it would have been during the war. A really great step back into history and the ingenuity of those that served on these vessels.

5 stars for this lady as well. The Drum is a storied boat who has earned her place in history. Being inside this ship gives a real understanding of the environment these boys served in while fighting the war. Such courage just isn’t found these days. If you find yourself in The Living Room in Mobile, Alabama you owe it to yourself to try the burger. It is melt in your mouth amazing. I had planned to only eat half and take the rest back to my hotel fridge to have the next day for lunch. However, after one bite it was suddenly my cheat day! Ohmygoodness! My next thought as I savored this culinary masterpiece was to at least save the fries for another meal. Nope! They were decadent! I am diabetic, so I fought the urge to eat them all. I did however leave them at the bar for those having a drink because it’s blasphemous to leave anything that delicious to get refrigerated and reheated, much less thrown away. I will say they could use more servers and bar tenders when it’s busy, because I did have to wait, but I kind of forgot all about that once I tasted the burger!

After being inhabited by Hank's mother Estella until 2007, the house was relocated to its current site at the former Mobile Bay Bears' stadium.
