The 5 best ice cream shops in Mobile

Had to try out this local landmark after dinner while visiting the area, and it was great! Cute little shop with a ton of invebtive flavors. Ordering can be a bit of a ratrace, but even with it fairly busy we didn't wait long before we had our order. Good prices, too! Ordered a double dip of king cake and cinnamon king cake in a dish and another double dip of king cake and strawberry oreo. Both were very good, with real pieces of king cake in those varieties!

The ice cream was delicious!! Parking was very limited, there was no restroom (from what I saw), & the inside was very difficult to move around in as the aisle was narrow and to get to the back of the line you had to squeeze to the back of the building. The staff were friendly and moving as quickly as they could for it being so busy.

Great icecream and great prices! If you're getting a scoop, you can't not get a triple! Go with 3 different flavors to really experience the quality. And they have a Guinness world record! My only recommendation is to put in a sign indicating the que for non-regulars.

This place was awesome! We had our daughters 1st birthday party here, the staff was so kind and helpful, the Ice cream was delicious! We had our party from 11 to 12 and the place didn't open till 12 so we had it all to ourselves! The kids got to make their own sundaes, everyone had a great time. They even have old sodas, we enjoyed a cold root beer. There is also a classic horse to ride with the quarters!

Go ahead, have yourself a few scoops of ice cream with a side of *privilege.* I started to write this review as it happened yesterday. But stopped and said to myself 'sleep on it first.' Because maybe, juuuust maybe I'm being dramatic or overreacting. But nope, I'm still upset. I went in to get ice cream with the 5yo I keep. We had about 2 or 3 people ahead of us. They were being helped. We patiently stood at the end waiting for assistance. All but 1 employee was busy helping others. Blondie with the braces didnt appear to be assisting anyone at the time. So we continue waiting another minute or 2. An older white man walked in and she immediately walks up to assist him. He literally walked around us with his dessert to go check out. Little miss blondie avoided eye contact and didnt give us a second thought. I wasnt otp or preoccupied with anything. I have no clue why she ignored us. After waiting a bit longer, I thought to grab her attention (even tho I shouldn't have to bc I'm not invisible- she saw me) but at that same time, more people walked in (after school rush) & she immediately helped them as well. Finally, a melanated employee walked up and helped us. Unbelievable! And mngmt can watch the security footage if they dont believe me. She bypassed us- didn't even acknowledge our presence. But she smiled and attended to "the others" But that's on par for this area.

Been coming here since I was in high school. I graduated in 1984 so go figure. The ice-cream here is the BEST. Let's not forget about the Banana splits, the Banana Royales, and the chocolate covered waffle cones with your choice/choices of ice-cream to go in them. I’ve been across the country from the west coast to the east coast and I have got to say that this place might have one of the best milkshakes I’ve ever had. (Everywhere I travel to, I find a place and get a milk shake). I got the “Cookie Monster” ice cream and had them turn it into a milk shake and it delivered in all the right ways. This place has that “mom and pop” type vibe. It’s clearly been around for a while and there’s a very good reason for that. Great service, delicious ice cream and an environment that is welcoming and friendly. This might genuinely be a good reason to stop by Mobile Alabama if you’re ever around or near.

I don't know why these people are tripping, you go to any restaurant with a large group and you get charged gratuity. But I digress, the hookah is great probably the best in Mobile. The atmosphere is extremely chill, I can't put a number on how many times I've brought a friend here and they were impressed by the atmosphere that Mint has. The food is also on point, the shawarma and the Mediterranean burger are probably the best food items on the menu if anyone is wondering. To top it off the service is great as well. The waitress staff is awesome. All in all it's a great experience for anyone to come in and smoke hookah or enjoy great food.

The environment is nice. Small at first sight but the back of the house opens up to a sweet treasure. Unfortunately the wait staff was subpar. If they hired more mature staff with priority it would have been 5 star for me. I recommend going to see for self as the hookah menu is reasonable as well as food.

Great food and drinks, great service, Hookahs! This is a good place to hangout with your friends. Some people even bring games. They don't have a liquor license but if you are over 21 you can BYOB and they will put it on ice for you. They also offer setups if you like mixed drinks. If you are over 18 you can share a Hookah with up to two people and they even have half off specials on Sundays and Wednesdays and college night on Mondays. I love this place.

Bailey and Kenzie are amazing!!!! They are always good to me and my company. Garreth makes amazing hookah and it is the best hookah in town... but the best is the food!! Very flavorful and delicious! Would recommend 10/10!!

The wings here are so good that they only offer ONE flavor. I was initially skeptical of the fact that I could only choose one flavor for the wings, but everyone around me insisted that it was worth trying. They were absolutely right. The owner is pleasant and paid close attention to customers (making sure their tobacco pellets [or whatever their called] were replenished). It’s a super chill vibe, and it’s BYOB. Chill spot for people seeking to hangout and eat some decent food.

Me and my friends were in town for the week for work. We wanted a nice bite to eat and somewhere to go on a Thursday night. When we came to Mint, we found the perfect vibe we were looking for. Absolute perfect vibe! The food was amazing & the Strawberry Mango fruit juice was something I’m going to crave and truly miss when I head out of town. G and Ashley are awesome and made our first experience so much fun and did I mention the food was banging!

Food is amazing and the hookah is great. They have weird policies like no more than 3 people per hookah, and depending on party size they have a minimum price per person, they told us we would have to spend $15 per person for our size 8 party and like what if someone just wanted a pizza and water? I've just never been to restaurant with such weird restrictions. I travel for work and never have I been to a hookah place that limits how many people can smoke off a hookah, or a "minimum" for how much has to be spent.

Stopped by for shaved ice - it's a corse shaved ice, not fine. Portions are extra large - we got a large and medium - I had a stuffed banana ice and my hubby had a cherry - I liked the ice cream more than the banana. Overall, it was worth the visit. BTW, the red velvet cheesecake looked awesome.

This is the second time my daughter and I have been to Sno Dash in Mobile. The shop is adorable, staff is great, and the shaved ice is excellent. The large size in the picture is approx $7 and is huge. We got cherry and blue raspberry. Next time I'm going to try the rolled ice cream!

My family and I love the rolled ice cream. It's made-to-order, so it does take a small amount of time. The location is clean and the service is great.

Personally, I'm a picky eater. But absolutely everything that was on their menu was absolutely amazing. 10/10 recommend

I love it HERE, especially since they didn’t renew the Hillcrest location. I was told they been here 4 years and I’m no way NEVER knew that but thanks for the info. Ice cream was just as I imagine and had a taste for today! So I picked the brownie cup with whipped cream and chocolate syrup 🤤 photos are below

wanted a soft vanilla but they were out and made it work with blue chocolate. the place was well kept and clean. i was probably the first customer of the day as i walked in right after the clock hit 11. i love that it is attached to the poke place so you can fill your stomach and get your sweet cravings fixed at the same place! however, i feel like the customer service could definitely be better. other than that, everything else was good

Been here a few times. FYI, you can buy frozen desserts & Poke Bowls here, it is a two for one place.

Really enjoyed our snacks! The chicharrón preparado is my favorite along with everything else. Will definitely go again. The best Mexican snacks I’ve had since being here

We discovered this place a few years back when we first moved to Mobile and it was our home away from home being from New Mexico places like this are very common where i'm from but not in Mobile. I loved coming here and having a taste of home. The owners are amazing and I loved coming in. We moved away recently and will miss Jefe Paletas dearly!

Went to patronize this establishment today unfortunately, let’s just say ITS NOT FOR US. I ordered first was served last and never once did anybody ask if I was being taken care of. Definitely a last. And for any of my social media friends I’ll encourage the same.

What an amazing place! The desserts were absolutely wonderful. Can't wait to go back and try everything on the menu!

Definitely unique. Great customer service. I do think their menu items are for acquired tastes but definitely worth stopping by to try something out. My husband got the watermelon. It's tossed in lime juice and salt but without the spicy drizzle. I got the kid size pistachio popsicle. Very nice people there.

I was really hoping to give a 5-star rating because everything else was great! Just a small suggestion—paying a bit more attention to cleaning, especially the counters after fruit prep, would make the experience even better.

Delicious Snow Balls with a variety of treats and food. The raspberry tasted better with every bite. The banana pudding is delicious. The beef chili dog was delicious. It was not messy to eat either. There were two families there when I arrived. While I was ordering one of the people who left came back in. He said he needed another snow ball because his family took his. I see why they took it now. This place is a hidden gem. When I say the customer service is impeccable, especially the people preparing and serving, I mean it. They have an aura of positivity and politeness. Simply amazing. I would not be surprised if this establishment is featured by Keith Lee or on the Food Network as a recommended place for Mobile Alabama!

Pictures do this NO JUSTICE!! These nachos were absolutely amazing… they had everything in them but the kitchen sink! Then I had an amazing watermelon lemonade to wash it down which I am going back for the gallon so no words are needed to describe how amazing that was! I absolutely love this place I have been before but have only gotten snow cones and they are amazing the ice melts in your mouth! This is my first and definitely not the last time I will go in for food items next time

The best nachos I’ve ever had! It was loaded with cheese & all of the toppings you could think of! They have really good lemonades as well..I definitely recommend and will be back

Great atmosphere, kid friendly food and snacks, plus great customer service. I live in Birmingham so I called TraePay’s 2 days prior to get an idea of the seating. Although the space did not accommodate my entire group inside their exceptional customer service offered a great alternative which was a great experience to my family. For something that was just a fun place to stop by, they made it the highlight of the day. And for that every time I travel to Mobile from Birmingham I will be back. I am now a loyal customer. My son and I had an amazing experience at TrayPay's Snacks & Sno-balls! Not only is the food delicious but the atmosphere is so welcoming and fun!! I thoroughly enjoyed the Mango 🥭 Pineapple 🍍Lemonade!! We will most definitely be returning for more deliciousness!!

We tried this place out while in town and enjoyed it. The nachos were loaded with cheese, and the loaded fries were delicious. I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for that year-round junk food spot. The sno cones are great also.

100/10 highly recommend!!! I've loved TraePay's since they were a food truck!! Food is always flavorful, fresh, and looks exactly like the pictures! Service is always top tier. Their location on azalea is decorated beautifully and has such a welcome atmosphere!! Went for Taco Tuesday not too long ago and they did not disappoint, per usual!
