Beach
Dollymount Strand, located in the North Dublin neighborhood of Clontarf, is a popular beach that attracts both locals and tourists. Situated on North Bull Island, this expansive 5km stretch of coastline offers stunning views and outdoor activities. Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks along the beach, watch kite surfers in action, and observe migratory birds nesting in the area. The beach is equipped with facilities such as lifeguards, changing rooms with showers, and toilets for visitors' convenience.
Lovely beach to walk on a sunny day.
Kavitha C — Google review
Big and relatively unspoiled, with lovely dunes. Not crazily busy on days other beaches are as it's big enough for people to be spread out. Lovely little coffeeshop and, other than that, not at all commercialised.
Adele G — Google review
Amazing place for sunrise pictures, when the weather is just right. Gets busy as the morning progresses, nice coffee shop halfway down. Sniffffff ~ Lovely smell

Beautifull ,very long beach.. some big shells there. Lots space for park car. First beach that I found some shrooms...
Michal J — Google review
A place where I use to go, to find peace... To recharge my batteries... To listen to the seagulls 'screaming' - I wish I could understand them... And the ships... An entire spectacle for the soul! Enjoy!!! 🎉🎊🎉

I enjoyed this beach during low tide. Amazing for running, reading, view, splash and romantic sit around. I played marsh soccer here and later took a deep to wash off in the ocean.

Beach
Burrow Beach, also known as The Hole in the Wall beach, is a picturesque and secluded stretch of sand located on the Northside of Dublin in Sutton. Tucked away from the main road behind private houses, this 1.2-kilometer shoreline offers a tranquil escape for locals and tourists alike. With its deep and bright white sand, it's perfect for activities like morning jogs, evening strolls, or family paddling sessions.
We love this beach and have been coming here for walks for years. The beach is mostly safe but does have dangerous currents in places which are marked on information signs at the entrance. The beach did claim the life of a 14 year old in 2022 and locals warn of the dangers of swimming there. Personally we find it ok as long as you keep close to the shore line. There is plenty of information regarding the danger areas at the beach. Also during the summer months the beach is lifeguarded, we’ve even seen them patrol the beach in kayaks from the water. On your average day during the year this beach will be quiet and there is plenty of parking along Burrow/Claremont roads. It’s popular with dog walkers and swimmers and if the wind is up and weather right the beach can even attract many kite surfing heads too. We have witnessed some Compass Jellyfish on the beach known to give a painful sting so bear that in mind. Unfortunately the good weather brings massive crowds too. Plenty of loud music, drinking and fighting reported during the 2023 summer with good weather spells. The close proximity of the beach to the Sutton Dart stating makes access very easy and convenient. The walks are great and when the tide is out you can walk right out and even get close to Howth harbour. Borrow really is one of Dublin’s little gems, it’s very clean and very peaceful well mostly. I recommend checking the tide times before going. Enjoy 🤙🏻
Tim W — Google review
Had an incredible day at Burrow Beach with my wife – the perfect spot for a relaxing escape. 10-15 minutes walk from Sutton Dart station and as expected the beach was packed with sun in its full flow reaching 29 degrees and people going mad about it. The views were stunning, the atmosphere was crazy, and the beach was super crowded still clean and well-kept. It was the kind of place where time slows down, and you can truly unwind. An awesome experience overall – we’ll definitely be back!
Saurabh ( — Google review
One of the best beaches around Dublin!! The beach is very beautiful with white sand. It has public restrooms at the entrance. The parking is very limited in that road where you can park in the side of the road. The train station is 15’ walking distance. If the tide is low, you can walk to Howth. It’s kind of hidden, behind the houses along that long road. Recommended beach! Also, there is no amenities around so bring your water and snacks!
Carol R — Google review
Had a great time. Easy to get to by bus or train from Dublin for tourists. We went in a heatwave so it was clear and sunny. YMMV. Locals said there’s stronger currents further out. The tide goes really far out from the beach.
W.A. R — Google review
just loved it... can spend my whole day.. but toilet facilities are not very good... no food options either so better to take food with you.... swimming beach....life guards available...

Outdoor Activities
Portmarnock Beach, also known as the Velvet Strand, is a picturesque 5-kilometer stretch of silky-smooth sand offering stunning views of Ireland's Eye and Howth. It is an ideal destination for beach walks near Dublin, with the option to continue on to Malahide Beach for a coastal trek. The beach features sand dunes stretching over five miles and offers activities such as kite surfing and swimming in crystal-clear waters.
Excellent place to relax and enjoy the view, usually there is high tide in the early hours and low in the afternoon and that is when you can enjoy the ice cream cart that appears on the beach, just wait for the tide to go out. Always take your trash with you so as not to contaminate and so that everyone can enjoy the beach.
Gabriel G — Google review
Portmarnock Beach is an absolutely beautiful and spacious beach, perfect for a relaxing day by the sea! The area is clean and well maintained, with plenty of room to walk, sunbathe, or enjoy a swim. There’s even a convenient spot to change clothes, as well as public toilets and outdoor taps to rinse off your feet after the beach. Cyclists will appreciate the secure bike stands, and there’s easy access by both car and public transport, parking and a bus stop are right nearby. You can also grab some delicious ice cream while you’re there, which makes the visit even more enjoyable. Overall, Portmarnock Beach offers everything you need for a great day out, peaceful, clean, and well equipped. Highly recommended for families, couples, or anyone looking to unwind by the Irish coast!
Dorian N — Google review
I would say best beach in Dublin :) plenty of space, water in the sea is not deep, so you could walk and swim freely :)
Ayush A — Google review
Wide and shallow beach with soft sand. Rarely crowded. A great spot to walk and just relax.
Robin — Google review
It is one of the best beach ⛱️ i have been in Dublin. This is awesome and very very beautiful. Walk here is like a dream and it is close to howth. Will suggest to walk here during a sunny day and spend some quality time at the beach.
Mr. S — Google review
Please use public transport to access this beach as car parking is very limited. The council do their best to clean the beach every day but people insist on leaving rubbish behind. The far end of the beach in common with most beaches in Ireland is clothing optional
Thomas M — Google review
The beach never fails a good old adventure, nature curiousities, beautiful wildlife and enough of peaceful solitude from the busy town life. Everytime I come here, there is something new to explore: various sea shells, crabs, star fishes, birds, jellyfishes (washed ashore) etc. During lowtide you can almost walk to Howth/Burrow Beach or around the south tip and get a good walk!
Eve V — Google review
One of the best beaches in Ireland to visit . Perfect time to visit is summer . This place is suitable for a family out. Everyone can relax , enjoy and spend some time with their family and friends . Low tides so swimming and bathing is not difficult ( take precautions before entering water ) . Can have sun bath those who loves it. Children can play and build sand castles. Good place for dogs also . Parking is available nearer road side . Other views are we can see the airo planes taking off very clearly when we are in sea side . Must take foods and drinks if you are planning to visit . Prepare a bag with clothes for swimming too .

Beach
Sandycove Beach, located south of Dublin, is a popular destination for families with its shallow waters and small sandy shoreline. Adventurous swimmers are drawn to the icy waters off the Forty Foot Pool promontory, famously mentioned in James Joyce's Ulysses. Accessible by DART, this beach is also home to the iconic Martello Tower and museum dedicated to James Joyce. Changing facilities and easy access via stairs from Harbour Road promenade make it convenient for visitors.
I liked this Beach the most around Dublin Area! It is very accessible by car, so it's perfect for cold or rainy days or when you accompany an elderly who doesn't want to walk a long sandy path. One fun part is you can see the Seals 🦭 heads out of the water with naked eyes in the evening which is very cute! Also, the neighborhood is amazing with the vibe of small town shops and lots of great restaurants to try. And they were lots of swimmers in the water even around 8pm at night! Make sure to check this beach out if you are in Dublin.
Golnaz — Google review
Sandycove is a lovely seaside spot in Ireland, perfect for a peaceful stroll and enjoying some fresh sea air. The coastal views are beautiful, and the area has a charming, tranquil vibe. Whether you’re taking a leisurely walk along the shore or exploring the nearby paths, it’s a great place to unwind and connect with nature. One of the highlights is the James Joyce Tower Museum, which you’ll find right in Sandycove. It’s a free and fascinating little museum for literature lovers or anyone curious about Irish history. It adds a nice cultural touch to the scenic experience.
Josep P — Google review
Beautiful place to stay. With Dart station easy link to Dublin.
Leo L — Google review
Busy on sunny days, but always lovely.
Thalita J — Google review
I love to go for a swimming in this place, the water is brilliant, not cold as I expected! If the weather is nice can be very busy and the perfect place to jump to the water too. You can park around the area and walk to the beach.
Ariana A — Google review
Cracking spot when the tide is in as the kids can jump off the walls. Plenty of lifeguards about too. You could swear you were abroad here it’s so picturesque. The James Joyce Martello tower is located here and around the corner is the Forty Foot bathing spot. Only one pay to use public toilet nearby. Parking in this area is hell on a super sunny day. There’s usually a stall that sells drinks, snacks and buckets and spades when the weather is great. Also on a good day the seals will be basking on the rocks soaking up the sun.
The C — Google review
Cozy little cove a short walk from Dun Laoghaire and the nearest train station, and adjacent to the famous 40ft Gentlemans Bathing Area. The beach is small and relatively clean. High tide covers the beach, however there is a good amount of space around the cove to set up camp, and places to jump into the sea. There are Life guards on duty during busy seasons, as well as a small (outdoor) changing and shower area. This is a very popular spot with the locals, who will be seen out in all weather, at all times of the year.
Will F — Google review
Lovely place. Swimming at high tide is best. Otherwise, the sea weeds can be a bit off-putting although it is not dangerous. As you will see in the image, seals often rest on the stones to the left of the beach, beyond the seaweed.

Killiney Beach, situated in the charming town of Killiney, Dublin, is a picturesque 2.5km stony beach offering stunning views of the rocky coastline and landmarks like Dalkey Island and Bray Head. The walk along this beach takes around 30-45 minutes and provides an easy yet breathtaking experience. Visitors can enjoy the calming sea, beautiful sunrises, and serene atmosphere.
This lovely Beach was almost empty. On a Thursday afternoon. There were a few swimmers that did not stay in the water long. My wife loves looking for Beach glass and she was not disappointed.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 Visited Killiney Beach last week and had such a lovely time! The view was absolutely beautiful—peaceful sea, clean beach, and stunning surroundings. It’s a great spot for a walk, relaxing, or just enjoying the sound of the waves. The area felt safe and well-kept. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a quiet and scenic escape not too far from the city.

Nice beach to spend a day with family on a lovely sunny day in Ireland…. Parking is a bit of a problem…. Only one coffee van on the beach should be better to carry own food or do barbecues on the beach… it’s a rocky beach not a sandy beach so wear proper footwear… dart station is on the beach…
Prajakta T — Google review
This is very beautiful beach near Dublin City ... very clean and pleasant ... nice for sweeming ... but sea water is very cold ... pable sand of different colours makes this beach more decorative ... parking is a little problem ... pay and park is available ... nice place to visit with family and friends ...
Sunil A — Google review
Killiney Beach is an absolute gem, known for its tranquil atmosphere and breathtaking views. Tucked away beneath the affluent Vico Road, this beautiful shingle beach offers incredible panoramas across Dublin Bay, with Dalkey Island standing prominently offshore. It's a perfect spot for those seeking quiet reflection and a nature walk, especially along the path that runs parallel to the scenic DART railway line. The water here is crystal clear, and the pebble shore provides a fantastic place to sit, relax, and soak up one of South Dublin’s most stunning coastal landscapes.
Arun K — Google review
Being at the nature, good weather doesn't need much to be more than amazing. I love killiney, great events happening here... families..it's not a crowded place, some toilets and espetacular view.
Camila M — Google review
Easy access via Dart. Very crowded on weekends. Some places are bit steep and need to be careful.
Linto T — Google review
The best beach if you already seen Howth and Bray. Big stones no sand. Usually very sunny and sometimes stones are warm. Nice connections with Dart train. No open shops or cafes nearby -1

Seapoint Beach is a popular spot for locals, offering a mix of sand and rocks with a convenient sidewalk. It's suitable for families with toddlers and those looking to take a dip in the Irish sea. However, it's important to check tide times as high tide limits beach activities. While parking can be challenging, the beach is well worth the visit. Amenities include bathrooms and showers, but there are no changing rooms available. During high tides, lifeguards enforce safety measures.
One of my favourite stretches for a slow wander - always very pretty. Wrap up warm as the wind can really whip along!
Gavin K — Google review
A favorite for swimmers and sun worshippers, the smell of seaweed, the sea breeze, the local heron and the beautiful harbor walks just minutes away make for a wonder visit, cheers
Michael G — Google review
It’s pretty good but obviously you can’t swim for three hours the other side of low tide the water is too low. Also be careful after a period of heavy rain because the water can be polluted for a couple of days after that. It’s great that they have working toilets and also a changing shelter at the tower.
Terry M — Google review
Great beach with great infrastructure. Free bathrooms and nice viewpoints. The beach is clean and easy to swim. Great spot!!
Ricardo F — Google review
Great place to swim, with lots of other swimmers, very friendly. Check the tides, if I understand correctly, you can swim here 2 hours either side of high tide.
Ruthie L — Google review
Not that great beach. It was full of sea weed. Although people were swimming and enjoying the view, I was not impressed with the cleanliness of the beach. The smell of seaweed was bothering me. However, sunset would look great here.
Stuti S — Google review
It's a very nice slightly hidden place, excellent for sea deepers or those more advanced sea swimmers 👍👌👌 There are concrete steps and a rail bring you to the sea and back which is nice for beginners. That also helps to keep the water clean and you can see through it, that was my first impression 😉💦 I highly recommend this place 👍👌😁
Maja S — Google review
A beautiful beach in the city and a great place to swim. The view is amazing and you can easily spend hours here. There are enough places to sit and enjoy the sun. The place has toilets near the entrance. The walk near the shore is great, I enjoyed it. As the water is not that deep, your babies can enjoy it too. I recommend this place.

I’ve been in Dublin for two months. Everyday I walk the strand. Some days water some days no water. But the view is never the same. The people are the friendliest in the world. Just a simple hello can get you into a 15 minute more conversation. I love it. Only problem. Bathrooms. Bring 25 cents for the only bathroom around. Just a little heads up
Jeff G — Google review
Best walk in Dublin when you need to clear your head. The tide goes out so far you can walk for ages, and the view of Poolbeg chimneys never gets old. Found some amazing sea glass here last summer. Just watch out for sudden rain showers! Anyone will enjoy a walk here.

Claremont Beach is a charming and easily accessible spot in Howth, offering serene views and a long pier leading to a lighthouse. Visitors can enjoy the picturesque scenery of Ireland's Eye, an uninhabited island nearby. The beach is surrounded by upscale seafood restaurants along the coastline and quaint fish-and-chip shops near the harbor. It's important to be mindful of the tide when walking on the sandy shoreline as it can come in quickly.
Very nice beach. The tide can be very low and you can walk all along. Its behind the port and the fish shops. Really recommended and perfect with kids

I’ve seen better beaches. We went when the tide was high so there was no place to walk or roam around. The parking was free and there were a lot of fish and chips restaurants around. The port nearby had a good place to walk and enjoy the scenes. There was a playground nearby too

While not wheelchair-friendly, it's favored by locals and tourists alike for its tranquil ambiance and pet-friendly environment. The beach exudes a beautiful energy that is cherished by visitors who respect its pristine nature.
I came across this cove by accident when exploring Howth. There was a set of stairs on the roadside, and I decided to head down them. I am glad I did as this cove was wonderful. The cove contains rocky areas to climb over and rock pools to explore (please keep an eye on the tide) and an area to sit, and just look at the views. Plus, there was no other person there. The beach is pebbly and was quite clean, The water was clear and sparkling. There is no wheelchair access due to the steps down. The steps are uneven and slippery in places, so careful consideration should be taken if you have mobility issues. There are no toilets.

After studying my English all week in Dublin, I wanted to discover the beaches. The contrast with the city is very interesting. I loved this unique moment, the beach is wild, very few people, walkers with children playing in the wet sand, happy dogs jumping in the water. The landscape is of great beauty, with the boats in the distance. On the edge, a road allows access to local residents, the houses are small and charming. Everything is relaxing, being on this walk allowed me to end my stay in Dublin, with the desire to return there soon.

The Forty Foot, located at the southern tip of Dublin Bay in Sandycove, is a historic promontory that has been a popular swimming spot for over 250 years. Until 1974, only men were allowed to swim here, but after a group of women protested and took the plunge into its waters, it became open to all genders. Despite its name, the water is only 40 feet deep and is known for being clean.

First time visiting, and the guy at the counter was neither very helpful or friendly. You have to go to a table, scan a qr code to order. Problem was we were traveling, and our phones only worked on wi-fi, which the restaurant did not have. Another customer actually helped us figure it out. Having said that, the prices are very good, and the food was yummy. We ordered the curry.

The JD Wetherspoon chain has fair prices and a variety of menus, but at The Forty Food the tables are dirty, the service is slow and the presentation of the dishes was terrible...which demonstrates a complete lack of staff. Maraisa C — Google review
Couldn't believe it when on 22nd of November when it was freezing cold outisde and as I was having a meal and a drink I asked a staff member why the radiators were switched off, his response "I don't know" so I asked to speak to the manager as I was so cold I had to put a jacket on and a wooly hat. When the manager came he told me that the "radiators are on a timer" and that it is not possible for Weatherspoons to turn on the radiators for heat. I asked him if it was snowing outside and freezing conditions and the place was open and serving customers would they be able to turn on the heating and he said no. I then politely asked his name as I wanted to get in touch with the company and he refused to give me his name even though I was polite and calm at all stages of our conversation. Sad as I always liked the venue but the cold conditions and the way the so called manager spoke to paying customers has put me off completely. If you want to eat in comfort and want to be treated kindly and with respect I would advise you choose somewhere else (Added to that tables were all full with dirty dishes and only cleared (table not wiped down) by going to find someone and asking them to clear the table even though your meal was about to arrive).

This was a pretty cool beach. So long and wide. I rode my bike from Dublin here and went across the bridge to see people swimming in the frigid water. Apparently it's a thing because there were changing areas for men and women all along the path. There is a vast grassy area that parallels the beach with various paths to walk or cycle (not for road bikes though). It was a windy day, but I really enjoyed the peace of this area. Are you an open water swimmer as we say in California? It’s “sea swimming” or “wild swimming” - best term- as it’s called here. This is an excellent swim hole. Water temp was around 60f , 15c, when I swam here in August. Very familiar temp , a bit warmer than the sf bay for August. Highly recommend this place for wild swimmers or those who just want a dip or a jump. East 25 min DART ride from Tara St station.

Went for a run last Saturday from Dún Laoghaire to Killiney, and honest to God — passing the Forty Foot nearly stopped me in my tracks. The sea, the sound of the waves, the hardy folk hopping in like it's a summer’s day — pure magic. There’s just something about that spot… the buzz hits ya right in the chest. One of these days I’ll jump in myself — nearly tempted already 😅 Cracking coastal route, class views, and the Forty Foot is the star of the show.

What fun for all! There's a gorgeous park along the water, a nice little sandy beach, a sauna, and big rocks where you can dive in from about 20 feet, or just dip in your toes!

I visited the Forty Foot purely because of its legendary status—and I’m glad I did. It’s a true deep-sea swimming spot, with dramatic rocks and cold, invigorating water that really lives up to the hype. What stood out to me most was the crowd. There are always a lot of people around, which made it feel a bit overcrowded at times, but also gave me a strange sense of safety and shared experience. Locals and tourists alike come here to swim year-round, and there’s a real sense of tradition and community. I went mainly to try it for myself, to see what the buzz was all about—and I can now say I understand the appeal. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Dublin and want to step into something legendary.

Beautiful seaside spot with clear water and an energetic crowd. Even if you don’t swim, it’s worth visiting just to enjoy the views and atmosphere. People jump in year-round, and watching that alone adds to the charm of the entire place.

Beach
Dollymount Strand, a beautiful beach located on North Bull Island in Dublin Bay, is an elongated and narrow nature reserve that offers a delightful experience for visitors. It is connected to the coast at both ends and stretches for approximately 5 kilometers. This scenic spot attracts individuals who enjoy walking or jogging along its three-mile shoreline known as Dollymount Strand. The northern end of the beach provides opportunities to observe seals, while kite surfers showcase their skills at the southern end.
Worth a visit if in Dublin. Just a 30min bus ride from the center (e.g. Line 6) and an additional ~15min walk to reach North Bull Island. Flat sand beach with a lovely view out on the sea while surrounded by Howth and Dublin on both sides.

Everyday is a beautiful new experience to be cherished forever at Dollymount. Some of the most peaceful memories of my life with my dogs. 🐾
Mini M — Google review
Beautiful and stunning on a bright sunny day even though it was a chilly February. Lovely to go for a long walk by the sea on a clean, sandy beach where you could come across some unique seashells on the seashore. Parking was quite straightforward also.
Derek — Google review
An incredible nature reserve with plenty of options for nature walks. Rabbits, common lizard, fox’s birds, butterfly’s and moths etc. The beach front is maintained to a high standard and the lifeguarding and rangers are professional and helpful. Solar showers on the beach.
Herbs D — Google review
It's my local beach so I spend a lot of time walking or just zoning out. can be busy on hot summer days. there are lifeguards on duty most of the time. Water quality is good but not a blue flag beach. It's also part of a UNESCO Biosphere so please keep it tidy!

My dog had a ball rolling around in the sand. Nice beach for a walk but I’d never swim in the water. Too close to Poolbeg Generating Station.

High Rock is a popular spot known for its diving platform and deep waters, making it a thrilling destination for strong swimmers and thrill-seekers. The rock juts out into the sea, offering different heights for jumping and providing picturesque views of the surrounding area. Visitors can enjoy exploring the rocky beach with various shell formations and even take a swim from the little pier.
It's a lovely spot for sea water swimmers . 💦👍🌊🌊. Nice swim and cuppa after😉.
Hazel ( — Google review
I spent a lot of time walking this area and swimming off High Rock. We were more inclined to swim as a group at Low Rock but moved here in our teenage years. There is a path along the coast road but the walk along the beach and rocks from the car park opposite the Stuart Hotel to High Rock is easy enough if you can jump across rocks. Great for dogs too
Fergal J — Google review
Lovely spot for a day outing. Great rock formations to explore and wander over. It's a rocky beach with lots of shells to be found. There is also the little pier to go into the water from if you prefer not walking on sharp stones. Had a lovely time here and will definitely go back. There is parking nearby in two spots and great overlooks can be had from there as well. Price is €0, so, awesome 😎
Antonia F — Google review
I like the location as it's very picturesque , and for strong swimmers, it's a great place. In the summer teens love to gather there and enjoy jumping in as it's always quite deep. Lovely views from here from Donabate to the North, Lambay Island straight across, Irelands Eye and Howth to the south and, on a clear day, the Dublin mountains. The colours change constantly, depending on the weather. Well worth a walk along the coast here.
Susan H — Google review
Great spot for a swim. Make sure to check that the tide is in. You can take the number 32 bus from abbey street all the way to this location. There are no changing rooms so bring a large towel for changing. Enjoy!

Cannot beat the views. Great to stroll and listen to the sea, or to let the pups have a dip.
Sherri M — Google review
Great spot for a dip in the sea for experienced swimmers. No changing area, can be choppy. Best time to swim is an 30 mins before high tide. Might be a good idea to check the water quality online before you go. In Malahide it can often be poor.

Sean Moore Park is a large urban park located in the Dublin suburb of Irishtown, on the north side of the River Liffey. The park comprises a number of different types of sporting facilities, including an 18-hole golf course, a multi-purpose stadium and football pitches, as well as gardens and woodland.
Beautiful park for a wander with a sea view. Crisp salty air coming in off the coast, sun streaming along the coastal path … where else would you be for a jog? 5 star

Superb new playground beside the beach in Sandymount. There’s something for all ages from trampolines in the pavement to a zip line for the older kids. So great to see a free kids activity that actually keeps them all amused! Well worth a visit!
Cli — Google review
Me and the family use the park for the Saturday morning parkrun primarily. It's really great and there is a wonderful playground for a wide range of ages. The views of Dublin bay are really a treat when the tide is in and weather is good. The only criticism I would have is that some of the paths are really worn down and pushing a buggy especially when running is really difficult with loads of loose stones to tackle.
Shane K — Google review

31The Burrow Par 3 Golf Course

Golf course
The Burrow Par 3 Golf Course is a charming and well-maintained pitch and putt course located in Sutton, offering a mix of challenging and fun holes. With attractive views across Dublin Bay, this slightly hilly course provides a fair challenge for golfers of all levels. The greens are in good condition, and the reasonable green fees make it an ideal spot to enjoy a few hours of golfing with friends or family.
Love this course. Greens are the best I've played on for pitch and putt/par 3 golf. The course is always maintained. A few tricky holes , 13th and 14th are extremely long holes and always look forward to playing them.
Gary M — Google review
My friends and I visited your golf course on April 30th, 2025, and were enjoying our round until we were approached by the owner near the end of the 17th hole. Without any prior warning or polite engagement, we were abruptly told to pick up our balls and leave the course immediately. We were informed that we had been playing too slowly and were allegedly holding up others behind us. However, we had allowed multiple groups to play through, all of whom were courteous and expressed their appreciation as they passed. At no point were we made aware of any pace-of-play policy or time limit—none was posted or communicated to us. What was most disappointing was the extremely rude and aggressive manner in which the staff member addressed us. We are a group of young players who were simply out to enjoy a day of golf. Regardless of whether we were behind pace, there is absolutely no justification for the tone and approach taken by an adult toward a group of respectful children. To further add to the confusion, he later acknowledged to our parents that we had been polite, seemingly trying to soften his behavior once they were present. This only reinforces how inappropriate and unprofessional his conduct truly was. We will not be returning to this course. Edit: The owner clearly has not even read my review and has used the same response he used to a completely different persons review. When did I say that you told us it would take an hour? You are the blatant liar. You never mentioned the “refunds”. You were absolutely rude to us, telling us to pick up our balls and leave when we were literally on the green of the 17th hole, five minutes away from finishing up.
Jackery D — Google review
Pay no attention to the kids commenting below. Just a bunch of children being self centred. The owner and group that work here are all really nice. I've played here more times than I can count in the past few years and it's always a smile. Course is great too, challenging but fun!
Charlie M — Google review
Absolutely Disgraceful Behaviour – Avoid at All Costs I’ve never felt so disrespected at any place in my life. Myself and two others paid for 18 holes at The Burrow Golf Course, only to be harassed by an incredibly rude and aggressive man who seems to have no understanding of how to treat paying customers — especially beginners. We courteously let multiple groups play through to keep the pace respectful and flowing. Despite this, on just the third hole, this man (never introduced himself, never greeted us) approached and snapped, “If you want to sit on your arse all day, go to the park.” No hello, no attempt at understanding the situation — just hostility from the jump. We explained the groupings and our effort to maintain pace, but he was dismissive and condescending. We tried to keep moving efficiently and even stayed out of his line of sight to avoid further confrontation. But then on the 18th hole, we watched him kick another group off the course mid-putt, telling them to “pick the ball up, you’re done.” He then argued with them for seven minutes on the green. What kind of course does this to customers? When we finished, he pulled us aside and told us the course “should only take an hour.” That would be laughable if it weren’t so offensive — we were a small group, let four other groups pass through, and were doing our best as beginner golfers. When I tried to reply calmly, he literally shushed me, holding his finger to his lips like I was a misbehaving child. It was degrading, infuriating, and completely uncalled for. I remained respectful throughout the exchange, but he showed absolutely none in return. Reading other reviews since confirms this is not a one-time issue. The hostility, the impatience, the total lack of basic customer service — it’s all part of the culture here, apparently. If you are new to golf, or even just expecting to be treated with a shred of respect, do yourself a favour: stay away from The Burrow. There are plenty of other courses in Ireland that will take your money without treating you like dirt.
Max K — Google review
“My friends and I recently played at the Burrow Pitch and Putt, but unfortunately our experience was disappointing. There were six of us, so we split into two groups of three in line with the rules. On the second-last hole, however, the owner came out and told us to leave because some of us were chatting while others were finishing the hole. He reminded us of the ‘no groups larger than three’ rule, which we had respected, and not everyone in our group was even playing. What made this more frustrating was the poor condition of the course itself. The greens were full of large holes and very uneven, which made play difficult and unenjoyable. We understand that rules exist for a reason, but the way the situation was handled and the state of the course left us very disappointed. We won’t be returning unless the management improves both customer service and course maintenance. I play pitch and putt regularly at Glencullen Pitch and Putt and have never had a problem there — the course is far nicer and the experience much more enjoyable.”
Conor M — Google review
Had a terrible experience at The Burrow. The owner was incredibly rude, disrespectful, and completely lacking in basic human manners. We were spoken to aggressively for no valid reason, shushed mid-sentence, and shown zero patience. As paying customers and beginner golfers, we expected a peaceful atmosphere instead, we got hostility. Won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend this course to anyone. Jamestown down the road is like heaven compared to this kip.
Maximilian K — Google review

Whiterock Beach, located in Killiney, is a hidden gem known to locals and those seeking a peaceful retreat. Accessible via old stone steps, this small yet charming beach offers rich velvet sand and breathtaking views of Dalkey Island. Surrounded by dramatic rocks and weathered cliff faces, it's perfect for a tranquil winter day or a leisurely summer stroll.
A must visit beach. You will love the breeze here. There is a long walk that you and friends or family can enjoy. You will need to park aside the roads, you may find it hard to find the parking space. The pebble stones in the beach increases its beauty. The view from the top is amazing. I recommend this place.

It's a lovely spot where the beach is crystal clear some rocks but not that will bother anyone i walk barefoot on and no problem The stairs down is fine and nice view going upmneed energy but definitely one of my favourite beaches in dublin
R. K — Google review
This is one of the best beaches in the area, if not the best (it’s really the northern-most part of Killiney beach, but it has its own access, and is cut off from the rest of the beach at high tide). It’s about half and half stones to sand, but the sand is closest to the water, which is good for getting in and out. There’s a shelter for changing, and it’s secluded by the sheer cliff face (but at the same time, if you’re in the water you can see the faces on the DART above as it goes by). There are toilets, but they are at the top of the walkway. This walkway is probably worth taking into consideration. It is mostly a gently sloped path, but there are about 60-70 steps to go down and up again. But it is worth it. The water is clear, and the view from Dalkey Island to the north, down to Bray Head and the Sugarloaf to the south is stunning, as is the green of Killiney Hill above. It’s also east-facing, so best enjoyed in the morning. Parking is limited on Vico Road (about 20 spots), but is free, so get there early. Alternatively, you could park either at the Sorrento terrace end, or in the Rock Lodge estate at the top of the hill, but either will add a 10-15 minute walk. Lots of bike parking at the entrance also.
Niall M — Google review
Nice beach, the water was not too cold as we had some sunny and hot days now in middle August. We went with a baby buggy and it was not too easy to get down (a lot of stairs). To avoid going up the stairs on the way back, we just walked along the beach until we reached Killiney beach and got to the road from there, which was easier, no stairs. Obs: there was a nudist guy there and I heard it's a naturist beach!
Bethânia D — Google review
The most beautiful sandy beach with limited amount of stones. To actually get to the beach there are a lot of steep steps so not ideal for someone with limited mobility. Street parking is about 20min walk away but on a nice day you wouldn't even feel the walk. I'd highly recommend

Visitors can enjoy perching on the rocks and taking a dip, especially during a beautiful sunset after a hot day. The beach offers a stunning vista over the Irish Sea, and there's even a local legend about a man who survived falling from the steep cliffs onto the rocks below unharmed.
