Cocktail bar
Step into the Vintage Cocktail Club, a sophisticated bar with a speakeasy ambiance located in the lively heart of Dublin's Temple Bar. This three-story establishment exudes 1920s charm with its vintage decor and cozy atmosphere. It has been acclaimed as one of the finest cocktail bars in the country. Guests can enjoy candle-lit cocktails and exquisite dining while surrounded by antique furniture, captivating artwork, and a roaring fire.
A unique cocktail bar crammed with character, you knock on the black door to get in. There's several dimly lit rooms to chill in.. recommend booking before arriving as it a popular spot. They have a large cocktail menu to choose from however will make most classics if you ask. We loved it.

Love this place. A little hidden gem. Cocktails are boozy and delicious. Staff are so helpful and give great recommendations. I’ve been 4 times over the years and not once had a bad experience. Looking forward to my next visit.
Sinead M — Google review
Great experience. Service was out of this world. Cocktails came so quick we were wondering how they did it. Extensive cocktail offering and I threw them a curve ball to create something different which they easily did and was amazing. These guys know what they’re doing! Loved it!
Kevin V — Google review
Yes a speakeasy, hidden in plain sight. But the crowd in front gives it away. Multiple floors with intimate seating, very narrow spaces and dim candlelight lighting. The broccoli was disastrous. The cocktails recommended based on my palate, not good. Had the Rosy&Jim and then the Condor&Curly. They say a cocktail bar with a large menu is nothing special. VCC didn’t serve.
Alexandria M — Google review
A delightful bar secreted behind a scruffy door in the middle row of a busy street adds an air of illicit speakeasy to the whole experience. Ring the doorbell and - so long as you have a reservation - you will be admitted to a dark hallway then upstairs to a large candlelit room decorated in 1920/30s period pieces and individual tables. The service is attentive and very pleasant. An extensive menu of classic cocktails and house variations is laid out chronologically by period. The drinks are well mixed and potent using only the very best ingredients. They also have a menu of snacks and larger dishes. I can thoroughly recommend the Sidecar - superbly lemony and packs a punch. Highly recommend a visit to this wonderful piece of atmospheric cocktail longe-lizard life.
Martin M — Google review
A real secret in the Temple Bar area. Ring a nondescript doorbell and be admitted to an old-style speakeasy. Extensive cocktail menu covering the classics and own inventions. Had two Manhattans which were gorgeous. Lovely service from the friendly hostesses as well. They offer small plates and cocktail making classes as well. You need to book a table - a couple tried to sneak in the door after we were admitted but were pleasingly told to wait by the hostess - some cheek on people lol!
C82 — Google review
I was so impressed with this place I’m writing the review while I’m still at the table. The drinks are so good. And the service is next level good. Do yourself a favor and make reservations. We’ll for sure be back on our next trip to Dublin. I’m attaching a picture of the door just to reinforce it is the nondescript black door.
Angelina H — Google review
Absolutely a must find experience in the heart of Dublin. A nondescript door and doorbell on a busy side street, leads to a gorgeous multilevel, 1930s style speakeasy. The rooms are adorned with velvet furnishings and beautiful art nouveau decor while jazz quietly plays in the background. The menu offers a variety of classic and unique cocktail creations, accompanied by the history of different liquors through the decades. The charcuterie and cheese board was one of the best we’ve ever had. There are cozy nooks and tables on every floor, but we sat at the bar and enjoyed watching the very talented mixologist whipping up his concoctions. While they do not require a reservation, making one ensures you have a time slot, they don’t guarantee that they’ll have a spot if you just ring the bell. Also, this is a strictly 23 years old and older experience. In summary, the drinks were delicious, the food was fantastic, the mixologist was knowledgeable and friendly and the unique entry experience and ambience was so beautiful. It was perfection, from beginning to end!

Nestled in the heart of Dublin's bustling nightlife, The Blind Pig is a hidden gem known for its reimagined classic cocktails and cozy stone-lined space. Established in 2011 by renowned bartender Paul Lambert, this underground speakeasy captures the essence of a 1920s prohibition-era bar. With a kooky cocktail menu featuring unique ingredients like Mexican chili and chocolate bitters, it offers an unforgettable experience for cocktail enthusiasts.
Located one set of stairs below an Italian restaurant, this speakeasy’s entrance starts with pushing a gold pig on the way that opens hidden doors that are described as a shelf. Upon entering you see an intimate setting with a stone archway & ceiling. Ambiance 5/5 right away. Our service & servers were great! Very friendly & knowledgeable about the drinks. The drinks themselves were DELICIOUS. True craft cocktails with unique ingredients. We got lucky and were able to walk in on a Tuesday evening. Our serves told us there’s another speakeasy located directly about this one called The Little Pig. So we decided to head there next. Great experience here! Will definitely be back!
Kiran S — Google review
Would come back! Food was great and we absolutely loved the cocktails. A cool experience if you’re looking for something a little different and quieter in Dublin.
Margaret H — Google review
We didn’t order food, so I can't comment on that, but the drinks were excellent. The bartender was very friendly and attentive, and the drinks were consistent. Live music was good too.
Isabel M — Google review
You need to go to this place, I won't spoil anything but honestly go. The atmosphere is unrivaled for a speak easy. The way you find your way in is a little puzzle that makes the whole experience all the more rewarding. Both the food and the drink were incredible. Again, if you don't go here you've missed out on a terrific time.
Jacob T — Google review
I had a wonderful experience with my fiancé. The atmosphere is cosy and romantic, the food is absolutely exceptional, and the service is flawless. The music adds the perfect touch, vibrant yet never too loud, allowing for an enjoyable conversation. I loved every moment and would highly recommend this place to anyone. Make sure to try the Carpaccio, it was the best I’ve ever had. Thank you to the entire team for such a fantastic evening. Well Done!

I only had cocktails here and they were fantastic. Super cool entry. A must visit.

Excellent!!!! I had steak which was cooked perfectly. Our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. The atmosphere is really cool and a nice break from the normal pubs in Dublin. Great cocktail menu!

Can you imagine this is a speakesy inside a pasta place. Loved the service and the hidden spot blind pig. The vibe is good all dark and greta spot to try new cocktails & alcohols. Appointment is needed before going here, so don’t forget to book yours!

Pub
The Palace Bar, located on Fleet Street in Temple Bar, is a Victorian-era establishment that recently celebrated its 200th birthday. Originally a Georgian building, it underwent a Victorian makeover and became popular in the 20th century as a gathering place for Dublin's literary community. Renowned writers such as Flann O'Brien, Patrick Kavanagh, and Brendan Behan frequented the bar.
It's been a long while (years)since I've stumbled upon this traditional Irish pub. The atmosphere was quite, as it was not busy... everything I would have imagined. what was very cool was the mirror partitions that separated the bar stools & just sitting between them taking in the history with a pint.. The bartender that served me is still in some of the current photo's I see on line, so judging from that I'm guessing the palace bar is very while grounded with tradition. I wouldn't miss this place if I were you.
Mark R — Google review
Lovely pub! Visited on a Thursday and Friday night during my holiday in Dublin. Thursday was a nice atmosphere, lively but not overly loud, generally older crowd, mostly irish with a few tourists (like us). Friday was busy but still had seating available upstairs, many people stood outside drinking. Big selection of whiskeys, good beers, a helpful staff.
Shaun R — Google review
It's what you'd expect out of a pub. I asked locals and did research on where I could have the best pint of Guinness, as I frequently drink it, I was not disappointed, this was definitely the best pint of Guinness I've ever had. Their Guinness is rather easy to drink and more on the smooth side than the creamy side, depends on what you like, but this was perfect for us. The Bulmers off the tap was also excellent, it had kept its fizz quite well, as they're usually served via bottle. The barmen were fast and on point, no bullshit, just drinks.
Ye — Google review
Great spot with reasonably priced drinks and a relaxed atmosphere. No food or TVs. Love the sense of privacy, it’s perfect for catching up with friends or just enjoying a quiet night out. Always a solid choice! The guiness is a perfect pour.
Traci T — Google review
Stopped in here for a quick pint. The Guinness did not disappoint. Very cool pub atmosphere and in a great location. The place is very busy and it can be hard to find a seat or even standing room.
Dave H — Google review
We saw the notice saying live trad music on a Sunday night abs since it was Sunday we went up. The guinness was great, the irish coffee too. But the music was fabulous. As the evening went on musicians kept arriving. The music was good traditional music not fake tourist come-all-ye's.
Belfastladdie — Google review
This is a perfect place to enjoy a pint or few. It was busy on a weekday afternoon and we were extremely lucky to find a seat as it got really busy not long after we arrived.
Russell E — Google review
I have been to Dublin many times. It's generally a warm, welcoming place. During this last visit, I noticed a shift. Bar staff doesn't want to engage or answer questions about the history of the establishment or even smile at customers. There just isn't the feel there used to be. The Palace Bar is one of the few places this was not true. The bartenders were warm and the bar itself is absolutely beautiful. The clientele was relaxed and happy. It retains its good feel.

Nestled just off the lively Grafton Street, Mary's Bar & Hardware is a unique establishment with a rich history. Once the site of the Wicklow Hotel, frequented by Irish revolutionary Michael Collins, it now offers an array of beverages from beers to poitin (Irish moonshine) and delectable signature toasties.
We stopped for a mid-afternoon snack/beer and were not disappointed. The French fries were very tasty and the burger just right. The bartender spent considerable effort shaking up a whisky sour, complete with bitters and dried citrus garnish. Definitely worth the visit!
Dennis J — Google review
I love it, great atmosphere, perfect for few pints and GAA 👌 They do have Beamish on tap which is hard to find in Dublin. Just great spot, definitely worth a visit 💚
Moto M — Google review
Really lovely bar staff. Good prices for Dublin. They have a great lunch deal, €12 for a pint and a toastie. Quirky bar with atmospheric snugs and outdoor seating.
It's S — Google review
I've been there a few times before and always thought it was a nice pub and still think it is, but I was very disappointed last time. I brought a friend who was on holiday in Ireland and we decided to have only a half pint this time because our tour was going to start very soon so I ordered a half pint of a larger and my friend ordered a half pint of Guinness and unfortunately her half pint wasn't what I was expecting at all. I should've said something at the time but here we are☹️
Claudia M — Google review
Really interesting pub in the heart of Dublin. Great vibe inside and super interesting decor. I thought this was an amazing place to hang out for a drink or three! I didn’t try the food this time around but the burgers looked impressive!
Simon D — Google review
Cute and relaxed bar. Had a toastie and a hard cider . 10-10 recommend for a nice lunch date.
Natasha — Google review
Amazing place. I never knew this existed. Lovely bar upstairs and a hardware shop, Real ole world. Very cosy, great pint, great service. Food also, lovely diner type downstairs along with another bar. Great for families. This will be my ‘go to’ place in Dublin now.
John D — Google review
This is a lovely little bar/hardware shop. The old signs for the different beers/ales etc make the place so homely. Its a busy place, but we were lucky to get there just after it opened and got a seat, it filled up quite quickly after. The Guinness we got here was probably the best one we had in Dublin.

Pub
The Long Hall is a traditional pub in Dublin that has been serving locals and tourists since 1766. The Victorian building is adorned with red-and-white-striped awnings, oak ceilings, and old-fashioned globe lamps, creating a nostalgic ambiance. During the day, it's an ideal spot for a quiet pint of Guinness, while evenings see an influx of sociable locals and visitors enjoying the warm atmosphere. The interiors are filled with trinkets and oddities that transport patrons to a bygone era.
I gave five stars for food, but by food I mean a couple of pints of Guinness and a packet of salted peanuts. A perfectly pulled Guinness is what I came here for and it's what I got. Great atmosphere and fast, friendly service.
Robin D — Google review
Worth a visit as it does have a very Victorian feel to it. Very nice but standard selection of beers. We only popped in for a Guinness while we waited for our next appointment to come around. Very nice place to people watch and relax. The prices were reasonable for the area.
Jack C — Google review
Over the last few years my wonderful partner has been discovering his Irish roots and reconnecting with his Irish family. On a rainy afternoon in Dublin he was excited to share with me one of Dublins most iconic venues that has played its part in his recent odyssey. Upon entering it’s easy to understand why this historic boozer is a firm favourite with the locals and tourists alike. Obviously Guinness was our ‘tipple of choice’…( Like there’s any other when visiting a Dublin institution such as this! ) However, you have to understand when you order this national beverage in Dublin there are a few rules involved… NEVER drink from your pint until the nectar is settled and 100% black in colour. ALWAYS place your pint on a beer mat. - I got ‘schooled’ twice in a non verbal firm but friendly manner by the barman - Sláinte. The bar is very traditional, brass fittings, long case clocks, gloss paint on the walls and vintage branded paraphernalia returning you to the halcyon days of drinking - without the cigarette smoke. The place filled up quickly with locals, regulars and after work drinkers - a very pleasant time was spent but sadly after a couple of pints of the brilliant ‘black stuff’ we had to make our way back outside into the rain taking advantage of the complimentary umbrellas on offer at the door - which is a super nice touch and very useful. Thank you and see you again soon I hope x

This old library may be better than even the Book of Kells. It’s like you’re walking through a Hollywood movie set. The books are beautiful as is all the beautiful dark woodwork. The old manuscripts are beautiful in the middle is cool. The big spinning globe is cool but is out of place. This is a must see in Dublin.
Dr. B — Google review
When I say "food", I mean some of the best pours of Guinness in the Dublin area. Great place. Cool vibe. And some great people behind the bar there to help fix you up with the perfect pint or other liquid libation.
Mo — Google review
No Beamish! There is a pic from a couple years ago but they apparently switch out stouts. They had Clockwork, which was decent. I specifically came for Beamish (there are plenty bars in Dublin that serve it, was trying to see as many as possible).

À great Dublin bar in the heart of the city, well frequented by local Dubs, if you want to escape the Temple Bar crowds and enjoy some nice drinks in a great Dublin pub then The Long Hall is yer only man !!! (Didn’t rate food as we didn’t have any but they certainly do food, check menu online)

Located in the basement of the Clarence Hotel in Temple Bar, The Liquor Rooms is a trendy and innovative cocktail bar that has garnered international recognition. Since its opening in 2014, it has become a hotspot for cocktail enthusiasts. The bar features four distinct rooms: The Black Rabbit, the Boom Room, the Mayflower, and the Blind Tiger, each with its own unique ambiance and entertainment offerings.
Our favourite cocktail bar in the whole of Dublin. Massive selection of cocktails to choose from & enjoy in a beautifully created environment. If you're in Dublin it's simply a must, Trust me, you won't be disappointed.
PHILIP B — Google review
A great basement bar located in the Temple Bar area of the city. Not the most obvious entrance to find but once spotted you head downstairs and enter a small but cosy basement cocktail bar. Low level subdued lighting sets the scene for a great place to hide away and enjoy some great drinks in a great atmosphere. A good range of drinks served by friendly table waiters. Seating can be limited due to the size of this place as well as the fact the tables can be reserved. You could easily turn up and find standing room only. One very slight negative was that some of the seating in the booth we sat in was in poor condition where the padding was missing from the seat. All in all a great bar and worth checking out.
John G — Google review
Really enjoyed the food, having had a burger and a few pints of-course. The ambience was awesome with some great live music. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to have a fun night.
Yaron M — Google review
Part of the Clarence Hotel you access via the quays / temple bar. Great cocktail bar. Cosy, dark, romantic vibe but great tables large enough for groups. Cocktails aren’t cheap by any means but expertly made in a cool venue, it’s definitely worth a visit for one or two. Mid-week evenings tend to be okay, crowd wise, but would suggest booking for large groups or for weekend nights! Tip: Always ask the staff for drink suggestions if you’re stuck / overwhelmed by menu options!
Ciara M — Google review
Quaint and quiet speakeasy just off The Temple Bar and right on the River Liffey. The sign is located next to the door, but is small and indistinct. Use your map app or you may miss it. It appears The Liquors Room shares the space (shared, but distinct) with what looked like a hookah bar (I only got a glimpse thru an ajar door). The decor is vintage and well done. Not a large selection of Liquors. We ordered off the drink menu and they were good and not pricey. It is a nice place for a relaxing drink.
Joe C — Google review
Love this place! All drinks are named after famous women in history. The drinks are fantastic and I loved the service.

Amazing atmosphere and the menu has an amazing choice. Though if you are not sure what you want let the staff know and they will whip something up to suit your tastes! Do make sure that you have an explore though and find the bear!

The Church Café Bar is a sympathetically converted 17th-century church located on Jervis Street in Dublin. It now serves as a cafe, late bar, and restaurant, offering a unique dining experience beneath stained-glass windows and original wall tablets. The venue also features an original organ built by Renatus Harris and the burial crypts can be visited within the building. Despite its name, The Church used to be known as St.
The Church Restaurant in Dublin is such a unique and vibrant spot! I loved the live music—it’s a great way to experience local culture while enjoying a meal. The fish and chips were excellent—light, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I also loved how the space is divided into different sections, giving it a lively yet comfortable atmosphere. It’s spacious enough to host a lot of people without feeling crowded. A must-visit for great food, music, and atmosphere!

Although this isn't a typical Irish pub, since it is located at an old church, that's exactly what makes it special and different from the other pubs. The atmosphere was great, the food was great, the music and traditional dances too! The design of the space was very well accomplished.

We went for a late lunch to try out the restaurant. There was a lot of hype about the restaurant. The food was good but the drinks were expenses. €16 for a cocktail. The server was very attentive and friendly. The food was reasonable but not remarkable. The atmosphere was what we were there for. The organ looked neat, the stained glass was pretty and the bar looked fancy.

fantastic vibe, really cool architecture and great drinks. Drinks run an average of 16 euro as of Nov. 2025, but the bartender's are top notch, as is the atmosphere. worth checking out, especially when live music and dancing take place. Absolutely fantastic for dates! Try the Irish Penicillin while you're here! Poitin (an ingredient in the wonderful drink) was banned for hundreds of years here, and now you can try it!

Such a cool place to grab drinks or to do dinner. We went on two separate occasions this trip. Super fun to just come for drinks and listen to music. Highly recommend the bramble. Another night we went for dinner. Our server, Imren, was attentive and lovely

What an amazing place! Dropped by with a group of friends after an evening event and we were blown away. This is a converted church that still has the magnificent large pipe organ - such a unique atmosphere! We managed to order dinner just before the kitchen closed, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The burgers were excellent. As if the setting wasn't special enough, we even got to watch some Irish dancing during our visit. Highly recommend for anyone looking for good food in a truly one-of-a-kind venue!
Jeffrey C — Google review
Giving this restaurant a 5 just based on the atmosphere alone. It's a really cool environment with remnants of the church, but with a huge bar in the middle, presumably where the pews used to be. We sat upstairs, which is highly recommended, so you have views of the bar, the Irish dancing, and the entire restaurant. A reservation is a must, I would think, unless you want to stand in a long line, and even then, you might get a seat on the ground floor. The food was pretty good here. We ate at the restaurant on a Sunday, so we got their special Sunday menu. As a starter, we got the Pork Ribs and those were excellent. For dinner, I got the Traditional Irish Lamb Stew, which was just ok, I would say. Nothing out of the ordinary. But, my wife got the Sunday Roast and that was excellent. If I could order again, I would have ordered that as well. For dessert, we had the Apple Crumble which was very good. And then with the assorted drinks/wine/coffee, really made for a good meal and good experience. Back to the dancing. This occurs every night at 7 pm, I believe, and it's traditional Irish music along with the dancing. It might change, but the night we were there, there were two dancers. Very entertaining and gave us what we felt was an authentic Irish experience. Finally, the servers were very friendly and attentive. It was a great meal out.

Was sat at the bar for half an hour. Three separate parties that arrived after us were served before us. We tried several times to catch the bar staffs attention without any joy. I’d recommend drinking before you come here otherwise you’ll be thirsty. Apart from that, the live music and dancers were amazing and I’d recommend visiting even if it’s just to see them perform.

Irish pub
Restaurant
The Brazen Head, located on Bridge Street in Dublin, is a historic pub dating back to 1198 and is officially the oldest pub in Ireland. Its exterior features exposed stonework and vibrant flowers, while the interior offers a variety of bars and snugs. Despite being close to touristy areas, it maintains a relaxed atmosphere where visitors and locals mingle over pints and traditional Irish dishes like Guinness stew or seafood chowder.
Really enjoyed the bacon and cabbage. Seems like a strange combination but I loved it. We went at the opening time and got a table but they filled up very quickly. The atmosphere is nice because everyone is having their own conversations which makes it feel really lively. Food came out quick enough and the Brazen beer more than occupied me during my short wait. Its not expensive either so id highly recommend visiting here on your trip to Dublin.

This place just oozes "special, but unassuming." I got lucky, wandering in and getting a table. However, it seems like one would generally want reservations here, as they are quite busy, even in the mid-afternoon. Staff was awesome. Food was awesome. Beer was awesome. There are several small spaces/room, some of them quieter than others. Choose your own adventure. :-)

After our Guinness Storehouse tour, we wandered about 12 minutes down the road to The Brazen Head, Ireland’s oldest pub and is was a good choice for lunch. The place oozes history and charm, with its stone walls, wooden beams, and cozy corners. We ordered the Irish stew and fish & chips, and both hit the spot. I’d give the edge to the stew; comforting, hearty, and full of flavor. Liked the mash in the stew. Exactly what you crave after a pint or two of the black stuff. The fish & chips weren’t the best we’ve ever had, but still solid. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere felt genuinely Irish without being overdone or staged. A must-stop for a classic Dublin pub lunch. It is a bit kitschy and touristy, sure, but that’s part of the fun at the oldest pub in Dublin. 🍀🍻

Apparently the oldest pub established in 1198. They open at 12 and I would recommend you to come on time just as they fill up pretty fast once they open. I had the traditional brazen beef stew and the brown bread(which was basically Soda bread). It used to be called Guinness stew but they seemed to have since changed it. Taste wise, it wasnt mindblowing. It tasted like tomato soup cooked with thyme. Pretty much thats it. The beef portions were generous but most of the beef weren't exactly tender. They had a chew to it. The male staff over the pub counter doesnt seem too friendly either. He doesnt smile and just seem to have a cold efficiency towards his customers. Overall, the stew was just decent and I would recommend coming here especially just to eat the stew. If ticking off the box of coming to the oldest pub in Ireland is your thing, then yes you should.

It was our first time in Dublin and we were looking forward to visiting The Brazen Head. We arrived on a Saturday night, the place was quite packed, but we waited only under 10 minutes until we got seated for food. It was worth every second, the atmosphere was welcoming and felt genuine, the staff was extremely friendly and polite. We had the Buttermilk Fried Crispy Chicken Burger and the Apple Crumbles, both excellent. We'll definitely visit again.

My family of five visited on a weeknight at 7pm. Had a short wait for a table, but nothing of consequence. We sat in at a lovely table on the 3rd floor, in a well decorated room with great atmosphere. Service was prompt and courteous, with our drinks arriving quickly. The menu was what I consider classic fare, but still a good selections. We selected only 3 food items, and all were made well. Special marks for the beef stew. We didn’t stay for drinks but the atmosphere in the drinking areas was pleasant, and seemed well suited for couples & groups. Average cost of an entree was around €20.

The Brazen Head, known as the oldest pub in Ireland, attracts visitors from all over the world — and we were no exception. We came on a Sunday morning, and although the pub only opens at noon, by 11:30 a line had already formed outside. The place is full of atmosphere, with a very interesting and traditional interior that makes you feel the history right away. The food may not be extraordinary, but it was tasty and satisfying. I can only imagine how lively and packed it must get in the evenings. The prices aren’t exactly cheap, but they are still lower than what you’ll usually find in the Temple Bar area. Overall, The Brazen Head is absolutely worth a visit — not just for the food and drinks, but for the experience of sitting in such a historic and atmospheric spot in Dublin.

Visiting this pub was one of the bucket list experiences in Dublin! I was told it’s the oldest Irish pub in the city. It was a fantastic visit !!! great atmosphere, especially with the All-Ireland hurling final happening that day. The crowd was buzzing with excitement. There was also live music in another bar. We really enjoyed our time there.

SCAM, BEWARE! This place tricks you and refuses to give you your money back. Sign out front said 2 cocktails for €16 and that’s the only reason we came in. Told the hostess that’s what we want. After she sat us no one came around and I had to go up to the bar to get my own menu and again had to go up to the bar to order because no one came by. It was 4pm on a weekday so not a terribly busy time. Ordered 2 margaritas, asked for one spicy. Bartender not once said it would be extra for spicy despite me again saying when I ordered I want the special that’s advertised on the sign (which does say margaritas). Got my bill and they charged me double! It’s no longer €16 because of the added “spicy”. I asked for a courtesy adjustment and the manager said no. At this point I find it so ridiculous I even told them I’m going to do a charge back with my credit card company and they still didn’t budge. So instead of doing the right thing, they rather lose a customer, gain a negative public review, get €0 instead of €16, and generally just be a shady business. Proud to say I got my money back from Chase and those crappy drinks were free :)

Such a beautiful place, the design is beautiful. Service was okay, a little slow and the staff seemed to be overwhelmed. The food menu was not loading on their website. So I could not pre plan on what to order. Food was okay the seafood pasta was okay, a little salty. Drinks however were well made. I had the Tommy's Spice Bag Margarita which I enjoyed. The dinning room was clean and tidy. Bathroom was clean but one of the soap dispensers was out of soap, which can happen during busy hours. It was not busy when I was there. Over all I had an okay experience. Maybe it was an off day but I was not totally impressed on my first visit.

nice little spot for a light bite and a cocktail. Guinness here was super smooth and creamy. spicey margarita was beautiful according to my husband. little bit expensive and the menu states the wrong prices as when we went to pay they charged us 4 euro more on each dish. which has knocked the rating down.

BAR 1661 is a trendy spot located in Parnell Square, Dublin. It's at the forefront of reviving poitin, Ireland's traditional moonshine. The bar has a stylish interior with leather-top stools and dark green wall paneling, creating a cozy atmosphere. Named after the year poitin was banned, BAR 1661 offers an array of cocktails showcasing this once-lost spirit.
Bar 1661 is truly a gem! They offer a fantastic range of cocktails, and my top pick was the “Parts Unknown.” I really enjoyed the welcome cocktails too. The only downside was that the music felt a little too loud at times.

Bar 1661 is IMHO the best cocktail bar in Dublin. It specializes in Irish Poitín, but has everything else you’re craving, too. Roberto and Brenden really did it up for us sitting at the bar, making us some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had, letting us try some special tastes, and giving us excellent recommendations for other bars in the area. We also got to meet Qhuy, who was awesome and funny as well. I literally can’t think of a better, more well-rounded crew to man a bar than these guys. I hope I get to come back someday, but if not, thanks Roberto for making it an incredible experience, and I’ll see you at your sisters wedding 💃🏻 (lol obvi)

Bar
The Hacienda Bar is a hidden gem located in the backstreets of Dublin 7. Its unassuming exterior with white stucco-style walls, small black windows, and terracotta tiles makes it stand out. To gain entry, visitors have to knock on the door and answer a few questions from the owner. Once inside, patrons are greeted by a charming atmosphere with a pool table, dartboard, jukebox, and an intimate smoking area.
From the outside it may seem like just another unassuming building, but behind the closed gate is a cosy quiet pub that's run by the owner himself. To enter, you ring the doorbell and answer a few questions asked by the owner. The pub is decorated with vintage items and photos of celebrities that have visited the pub in the past. There are also two pool tables. Card payments are accepted and the pints are very moderately priced. Easily one of my favourite pubs in Ireland.
Nicholas S — Google review
What an experience! We were just walking by and the owner invited us inside. The first impression was as if we were in some movie visiting a private pub in Hollywood or something. The owner is such a character and I can see that this pub is his life, which is really awesome.

We stayed at the hotel next door and were intrigued by the building. Looked on google and thought we would give it blast, if we could get in. Well we weren’t even asked a question about getting in , as when we came to the door, the fabulous Shay, was letting someone out, so he let us in. Great for a pint or a game of pool has the charm of an old pub. My two gay pals Dave and Paul, loved it. I think Shay thought I was there bodyguard… we went back the next night too. Loved the place. Great music in there also.

Shay is brilliant & everybody who knows him loves him. I’ve brought a few people here over the years & it’s always been a good time. If you ring the bell & get inside, you’ll feel right at home. Not too crowded, just perfect. The lady behind the bar is incredibly lovely too.

Absolutely loved my experience at The Hacienda Bar in Dublin—it’s a true hidden treasure with a personality all its own. From the outside, it, but once you're buzzed in, you're welcomed into a wonderfully quirky space filled with charm and history. Shay, the charismatic host, makes everyone feel like a regular, and the atmosphere is warm, lively, and uniquely authentic. The decor is an eccentric blend of vintage touches and cheeky details, the jukebox is stacked with classics, and the whole vibe is inviting and unforgettable. It’s cash-only, which adds to the retro charm. Highly recommended!
Erik — Google review
The Hacienda was part of my life for over 30 years. I had one of my first pints here at 15, and for a decade it was where I played pool and darts in a more depressed Dublin. I remember the German Shepherds padding around the bar and Shea’s white Porsche parked outside — a rare sight in 1980s north inner city Dublin. The pub was crammed with Shea’s curios — eccentric, lived-in, unforgettable. To get in, you rang the bell on the locked door, where Shea would look you up and down before deciding if you were worthy. Inside, you might wait for your pint while he finished a game of pool, or have to step back from a shot as he opened the trapdoor to change a barrel. Winters meant a roaring fire, though you also had to contend with what were surely the smallest toilets in Dublin, a one-in, one-out squeeze that tested balance as much as patience and the worst smoking area in any pub anywhere: basically not much more than the size of an old phone box with a scrolled metal gate where somehow up to a dozen people could squeeze in. You froze, you laughed, and somehow it was all part of the charm. Even after I moved to London, every visit home meant calling in. No fuss — just, “Are ye home? When are ye going back?” from Shea, always in his striped T-shirt and tracksuit bottoms, with Rod Stewart crooning in the background. And every so often Linda’s arm would poke through the upstairs door with a cup of tea for Shea or a plate of bar food for customers. She seldom appeared in person; for most, that arm was all they ever saw of her. For over twenty years, the same locals occupied Bullshit Corner — swapping stories, dealing cards, and holding the place together with laughter and tall tales. The darts and pool teams kept it alive in leaner times, hauling its name proudly around the city. Trying to play pool here was an experience in itself — every crucial shot was preceded by a chorus of slagging from some of the best players Dublin had known. That was the heartbeat of the Hacienda. But by the mid 2010s, everything changed. A Hollywood celebrity had began dropping in, and almost overnight Shea swapped his old tracksuit for a bow tie and waistcoat. Social media followed, then hipsters, hangers-on and more stars. One by one, the locals - even the stalwarts of Bullshit Corner - were barred for trivial reasons and replaced. Now the walls are lined with celebrity photos, a shot of Shea with Ed Sheeran greeting you at the door. Gone are the regulars who gave the place its soul. What was once a true Dublin local is now a local in name only — a private club that shuts out the very people who built it. Ring the bell today as a local and you’re as likely to be turned away, or greeted with a “Private Party” sign, as welcomed. And if you do get in, don’t expect the old banter — the only topic now is which celebrity dropped in last. And that’s the wider tragedy. Pubs like The Hacienda, chasing money, glamour and gentrification, have turned their backs on the communities that sustained them through hard times. The celebrities who frequent and promote such places may not realise it, but they’ve helped drain the life out of the north inner city, replacing flesh-and-blood communities with hollow backdrops for curated “authentic” experiences. For me, The Hacienda will always be the earlier days: funny, warm, and imperfect. The quirks, the freezing smoking box, the tiniest toilets, the darts and pool teams carrying its name, and the familiar faces in Bullshit Corner with cards on the counter and slagging across the pool table. That humour and warmth were what made it great. Its loss is a deep sorrow — not just for those of us who knew it, but for Dublin itself. Tragically, The Hacienda will be remembered by many not for the heart that once defined it, but for the day it turned its back on the locals who made it great.

Always good during the week - quiet, chilled out, and cash only. Right across from the fruit market in Smithfield, but it is easy to walk by if you don't know the place (it might appear that it is closed from the outside). To gain access you'll probably need to ring the doorbell for Shay to let you in.

We had an amazing Sunday brunch with a group of 15, and the service was exceptional. Two of my friends follow a gluten-free and vegetarian diet, and we were pleased to find plenty of options for those with dietary restrictions. For groups of eight or more, the restaurant typically offers a group menu. However, since it was a quiet day, I spoke with the manager in advance when making our reservation, and they were happy to accommodate our request for an à la carte menu to cater to specific dietary needs. Our group enjoyed both the set dinner menu and the group menu, both of which were absolutely worth the price. The food was delicious, well-portioned, and satisfying. A special thanks to Zeha, who took great care of us during our visit. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I highly recommend this restaurant!

Peruke & Periwig is a French-inspired venue located on lively Dawson Street. The three-storey Georgian townhouse features a ground-floor bar with wood paneling and a salon serving delicious meals upstairs. The vintage decor includes quilted red booths, gilded gold portraits, velvet furniture, and antique clocks. A memorable cocktail experience The menu is built around wigs for some reason. Weird, yes, but it works The interior is wonderful, like some kind of posh Victorian hotel. Very good cocktails, mixed service. I reserved a table online, but upon arrival got informed it’s only for an hour and fifteen minutes due to a “big reservation” arriving later… which i found quite rushed and inelegant for a place like this. The hostess was very unapologetic and disinterested in any conversation. We got seated upstairs. Nice decor, but some of it damaged and I repaired, bit of a sewage smell in the room. Luckily from there it got only better. Our margaritas were delicious and bartenders super attentive and kind. Mixed feelings really.

Amazing venue with great drinks and concept, let down by simply incompetent staff. Harsh but every moment was excruciating from the initial greeting, to waiting 20 minutes to get a first drink, to being presented the bill before our second drink arrived, to then being told our table time was up before that drink arrived. Really awful experience saved only by some quite exciting cocktails. It’s been a while since I’ve really met such terrible staff. I haven’t contemplated complaining before but ended up laughing at how bad this really was - right up to getting our own drinks from the bar, much to the embarrassment of the barman. The location and venue is terrific and maybe after a purge of the team this place could be worth visiting again. Shocking.

Located on Dame Lane in Dublin, The Stags Head is a historic Victorian pub with a charming atmosphere. Dating back to the 18th century, it features beautiful interiors with high ceilings, wood-panelled walls, stained glass windows, and wrought-iron chandeliers. This iconic pub was a favorite haunt of Michael Collins during the War of Independence.
Stopped in during our trip to Dublin for a pint of Guinness and loved the classic pub atmosphere — rich wood interiors, great service, and one of the best-poured pints we had in the city. We ended up returning later that night for their comedy show upstairs, and it was a brilliant decision. The lineup was hilarious, the room had a cozy, intimate feel, and the vibe was spot-on. A perfect blend of old-school charm and lively entertainment. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a proper Dublin pub experience with a little something extra!

Met up with some friends on a Saturday afternoon. The Guinness was excellent 5 out 5, service was friendly and prompt. Food was very good. There was a fabulous atmosphere on the eve before the all Ireland hurling final. The pub has an interesting history which always adds to the experience.

Visited The Stag's Head 2 different days while I was there and the food and drinks were great! The Ham & Cheese Toastie....so good!! Great pub, friendly staff and great place to have a pint of Guinness while enjoying the Victorian interior. Definitely a place to visit and will be back again! It will get very busy so you have to time it right to get a table or bar stool. It filled up quickly after I got there on both occasions.

The best spicy burger I ever ate! Although I don't like bacon it really had a taste. I also recommend Rockshore iris lager. Very polite stuff. You can sit wherever you want. You are very welcome to do so.

Beautiful decor old style pub, cosy and bustling. We did not eat here so could not comment. Bar staff were attentive and served quick. Gets busy quickly and we struggled to find more space. I was a bit uncomfortable as one of the people at the bar (customer) seemed drunk and unpleasant but this can happen anywhere but the bar staff did remove him. Well worth a visit!

Traditional Irish bar/restaurant with a 1880s Victorian vibe. Load of events, music, etc. throughout the week. We went there for lunch. Food was good and the atmosphere was lively.

Token in Dublin is a unique and fun dining spot that offers a variety of options for both plant-based eaters and non-vegans. The restaurant, which won the Dublin Restaurant of the Year award shortly after opening in 2017, features a retro gaming arcade theme with pinball machines and offers a diverse menu. From vegan chilli dogs to Big Macs, tacos, and garlic parm fries, there are plenty of choices for those following a vegan lifestyle.
Pretty cool dining experiences. Pretty packed on a Saturday, which is to be expected, so make sure to book. The food was delicious and the games collection was very nice and diverse. Will be back!

The arcade games were fun. You need to wait for a bit when there were many people. The hot chicken burger was very nice and it is quite spicy - My mouth was on fire! The IPA ambush beer is tasty too! Heard the vegan dishes were great so will come back with my vegan friends next time.

I was part of a group booking and we had the place to ourselves (+150 of us). The concept is great, the space is lovely, and the staff were terrific... great service team. But the food was a bit disappointing... as someone in our group described it, "it's like children's birthday party food." Still, good drinks (including tasty mocktails) and great games mostly from the 90s. Token donations go to dog charity! 🐕🐶🐾

A place for fast food both vegan and vegetarian. They don’t allow children below 18 years and so we had to sit outside as our 5 year old granddaughter was with us. Weird because we just had taken the Guinness storehouse tour, taking the child along. Anyways the food was not bad and service was apologetic and sincere. Looks like a popular place for youngers to hang out and play arcade games and have fast food.
Gunjan A — Google review
It's amazing. Honestly one of the coolest places I've visited in Dublin. The food is good and there are a lot of vegan and vegetarian options, the list of cocktails was vast and there were non alcoholic options. The staff were really lovely and helpful for any questions we had. The arcade games are so much fun and there are so many to chose from. This places looks fantastic and is fantastic would recommend to everyone!

Awesome place to have some food and drinks and play classic arcade games as well as pinball. The atmosphere was lively, young crowd (students?), everyone's trying to have a good time at the machines even if they're not particularly gaming-oriented. Don't miss the back room and the basement, where there are more machines. The food is great, the portions are generous. Drinks are good too. They started shutting off the machines at 23:00, leaving me with a few unused tokens in my pocket. That's my only critique.

Irish pub
Toners, located on Baggot Street in Dublin, is a long-established pub with a rich history dating back to 1818. It is renowned for serving one of the best pints of Guinness in the city and has captured the hearts of famous figures like WB Yeats. The pub exudes old-world charm with its traditional wooden snug area and original features from Victorian times.
Want to get a feel for a local pub in Dublin - this is your spot. Pub has a lot of character, huge heated outdoor seating ( Toner’s Yard). Great place to hang out with friends and a few pints.

Arrive in Dublin on Sunday and what do you do? Have a drink in a few bars maybe? Toners was one such place. A bit of an Irish institution. Crazily busy but still found a table. On the surface it’s mad. But boy is it well run. Table service works brilliantly so no waiting. Nice pint or two of Guinness ( read the sign) Smithies red ale was also a great pint. Nice music going on and a wonderful atmosphere. Would I go back? You bet I would 😁🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇮🇳 Recommended 😁

Was looking for a good Irish pub - not a crazy bar/restaurant. Toners checked all the boxes. Popular and full on a good night. Almost private and serene on an early Sunday afternoon. The proprietor was awesome, polite and friendly and great place to get a good Irish pub experience without the craziness.
Christopher H — Google review
Great atmosphere. We are happy we stopped in for a Guinness. Felt like this is where the locals go, but maybe it is not, idk either way we enjoyed it.
Cam O — Google review
Always a lively pub, especially from Thursdays to Saturdays. If you want a seat you need to get in early. If you’re happy standing you can come at anytime - just be aware that on match day many supporters come here before, during, and after the match, so it can get exceptionally busy. Guinness from inside is usually a 8/10, however I’ve had some dodgey pours and some exceptional pours so take that as an average.
Eoin — Google review
Toners is one of the coziest and most authentic pubs in Dublin — perfect for a relaxed afterwork pint. They don’t serve food, but the great thing is you can bring your own. Right across the street is Cirillo’s, one of the best Italian pizzerias in town. Great Guinness, warm lighting, wooden tables, and that timeless pub charm you just can’t fake

The Workman's Club is a vibrant and colorful venue located in a historic Georgian building in the heart of Temple Bar. I had an absolutely fantastic time at The Workman's Club in Dublin! Not the top music venue in Dublin, but it's a cheap & cheerful spot to see new, local and up & coming artists. Pints still pricey but service is good and it has a nice relaxed atmosphere. The sound and lighting could be better (but is definitely passable) and it could be better kept but if that were the case they wouldn't be hosting the kind of great bands that play here for €15 or so... or a weekend mini-festival for €30.

Cocktail bar
Bar
Located in a Georgian basement near Stephens Green, 9 Below exudes the ambiance of a sophisticated old-world cocktail joint. The bar features swallows painted on arched ceilings, banquettes in stone alcoves, and a collection of rare whiskeys. Skilled mixologists craft unique cocktails using handmade shrubs, foams, and bitters, including vegan substitutes for egg white-based drinks like the Whiskey Sour.
The cocktail lounge is beautiful inside, really beautiful and cosy setting. The cocktails are really good, well made and presented so beautifully. The movie themed cocktail menu seems a little out of place and gimmicky in such a relaxed and sophisticated setting. However it doesn’t detract from how good the cocktails are.

Local bartenders weren't so fussed to hype this place up It's beautiful inside and the staff are friendly. Drinks are presented nicely But the menu doesn't do it for me. The movie theme seems random, and they don't taste that good. They're just ok
Nicholas B — Google review
We’ve been to 9 Below twice now on our travels to Dublin. The first time was wonderful service was great and the drinks were delicious. This last time we went. We went as two groups of 6. They sat us in the bigger room where we all could be together and it was awesome. Until it came down to the actual service. Not sure if it was due to our group size or what. But we were ignored had to find the server if we wanted more drinks and when it was time to pay we noticed they added extra items to our bill. I’m gonna say on accident. But when we brought it to the teams attention we were met with hostility and attitudes that weren’t necessary. (As we weren’t gonna pay for things we never had) So at that point it seemed like they added the items on purpose. It’s a neat place with a cool vibe and the drinks are tasty. But make sure you track what you order and check your bills

So glad we (literally) found this spot! (It's to the right of the double staircase in case you miss it!) Jo was our fabulous bartender and she was so patient with our questions about the bar itself, the drinks, the menu, etc. The drinks were all excellent. But our favorites were the Boogie Nights and White Chicks! Would definitely stop in again!

Absolutely gorgeous place for drinks! Mystery like atmosphere, low lights and amazing cocktails. Just for reference they don’t serve food, so consider not being hungry when you walk in. Excellent place for dates.
Sissy D — Google review
I rented this space for a private event - a welcome party for my guests the evening before our wedding. There were 50 guests total. The staff had space cleared for a small three-piece band beforehand. Communication was amazing beforehand. Food and drink was chosen in advance, which was organized properly as I was able to arrange several calls with Shannan Noonan. She made sure everything was good to go. I only needed to give a deposit to reserve the space about 6 months in advance, and I asked them if I could give the rest of the minimum spend that was agreed upon (3k) the week before the event, so that it was off of my chest. This was not required by the establishment. You could pay when you got there. You also can limit the spend if you are paying for guests, and you can limit top shelf alcohol, shots, etc. Basically the staff are great at acknowledging your event needs. I would highly suggest using this unique space to host an event. It was intimate and we all had a blast! Patio out front was also nice!

Myself and two other friends had my birthday dinner there and one of my friend was running late. We felt a little bit rushed from the staff as if they want us to finish our dinner as soon as we can and just leave. One gentleman who was holding the iPad moved some tables around and said to us that we don’t have to rush anymore because they see that one of our friends still hasn’t arrived so we’re okay. So thank you to him for that. The mocktails wasn’t that bad but when it comes to the food wise , the pricing does not match the food portion. I ordered a 10oz steak WHICH COST €46???? it includes chip if you wanted chips on the side which would’ve been €6.50 alone for itself ??????? The steak wasn’t even that big as well…… the chips itself it’s called “ beef drip chips “ sounds fancy right ???? It’s basically just a small portion of chips and they were even dry too…. On the menu it said there will be service charge for table of 6 or more. It was only three of us girls and there was a service charge on our bill ???????? Overall the interior of the restaurant is nice but the pricing and staff wise is not the very best. The only thing they were good was that they were very attentive but attitude was not the very best in some way. Don’t think I’m gonna come back again to be honest

The samosas were a great start, perfectly crunchy on the outside with a flavorful filling that paired really well with the dipping sauce. The pizzas were decent, though a bit underwhelming for the price, simple in toppings and execution. The standout for me was the calzone: generously filled, especially at the center, and absolutely delicious. The combination of duck, caramelized onion, and goat cheese was rich, savory, and well-balanced.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Dublin at College Green, The Bank on College Green is a stunning bar that effortlessly combines elegance with a lively atmosphere. Once the main banking hall, its interior boasts an ornate design featuring a breathtaking stained glass ceiling, intricate plasterwork, and beautiful mosaic tiled floors. This enchanting venue not only serves an impressive selection of drinks but also offers seasonal farm-to-table menus that highlight local flavors.
A lovely converted bank in the heart or Dublin. Walked in on a Sunday night after being turned away by some other local spots due to a lack of availability. Our party of seven was promptly sat, not just in the dining room but in a private room that used to be the managers office. The service was quick and efficient. Instead of having a dedicated server, everyone seemed to share the responsibility of checking up on us, taking order. Etc. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, eagerly ready to inform us of recommendations and answer any questions. The food was phenomenal. The bread tasted close to freshly baked, the soup was rich and creamy, the vegetables tasted like they had just been picked off of the vine. The entrees were all appropriate portions for the price, the accompaniments were all beyond complimentary to the entrees. The cocktail list was expansive and well rounded. The wine list wasn’t anything grandiose but meaningful and concise. The bank is beyond lovely, and look forward to returning.

Loved the burrata salad, weird individual ingredients that come together in an amazing combination. My seafood tagliatelle was chock full of mussels, clams, fish and prawns, pasta was a LA dante, and the cheese amazing, it was a pleasure to eat and serious value for the buck. The chicken supreme was a bit dry. We loved our mocktails. The place was insanely busy, we caught the last table before everyone had to sit st the bar. The atmosphere was historical, fun and cheerful, not too loud but certainly bustling, and the servers super busy but still very friendly and light hearted. The interior was a masterpiece to enjoy by itself. This place is super firm in the values that it stands for, both in Ireland and the world, and that was the prime thing that pulled us to try it, that and the fact that it was clearly fancy.

The Bank Bar and Restaurant opened in May 2003 and is located on College Green in the heart of Dublin. This site has been occupied since Viking times, as it is located in the oldest region of the city in close proximity to the viking parliament The exterior is Franco-Scottish in inspiration and is unique in that it is one of Dublin’s rare examples of Scottish sandstone. The interior, which was once the main banking hall, is a stunning example of merchant power and patronage displaying an extraordinary ornate setting, stained glass ceiling, mosaic tiled floors and spectacular hand carved plasterwork and cornicing. This old-school pub features an ornate Victorian decor with filigreed mirrors and carved-wood snugs (enclosed booths). In addition to perfectly poured Guinness, the pub is known for serving potent gin and tonics. we spent some nice time here and it was really beautiful.

Came to Sophie’s on a whim, around 2200 with a reservation. Delighted we came here as most kitchens were closed at this time. The ambiance was modern and chic. Situated on the top floor overlooking part of the city on hotel grounds. Such a nice, distinctive way to spend one of the last nights in Dublin. Food was extremely good and service was attentive and friendly. Menu was varied enough for 3 different palates. Sophie’s Rooftop Bar – A Top-Class Experience Had an excellent evening at Sophie’s Rooftop Bar. We kicked things off with the duck croquettes and the gnocchi starter – both were outstanding. The croquettes were crispy, flavourful, and paired with a delicious dipping sauce, while the gnocchi was absolutely immense – bursting with flavour and perfectly cooked. Portions were just right for starters. The ribeye for mains was nothing short of spectacular. Cooked to perfection, beautifully seasoned, and served just the way a good steak should be. Every bite was a treat. The ambiance on the rooftop was cool and relaxed, with great views and a laid-back, stylish vibe. Perfect for an evening out. Special shoutout to the service – our waiter was incredibly friendly and made the whole experience even better. Really appreciated the warm and attentive approach. Highly recommend Sophie’s for anyone after top-notch food, a great setting, and genuinely good service.

I really wanted to like Sophie's as it was meant to be our Dublin “splurge” dinner, but both dishes were a letdown. My seafood pasta (€29) tasted like something I could make at home with jarred sauce. The “seafood linguine” was actually spaghetti, and while the mussels, shrimp, and clams were fine, the dish itself had no real flavor or depth. No Parmesan, no bread—just flat. My friend’s gnocchetti was equally underwhelming. The room was quite noisy, and we were so disappointed by our main courses that we didn’t even want to stay for dessert. The view was nice, and our server was polite but seemed a bit confused. Overall, it felt more like a trendy first-date spot for twenty- and thirty-somethings than a genuine dining experience. We left disappointed and wouldn’t come back or recommend it.

Amazing place to spend a celebration. Brilliant service, amazing view, tasty food and great wine. Shout out to our server who I think was called Jeremy (could be wrong). He couldn't do more for us, even putting a candle in my brothers sticky toffee pudding. Communication prior was disjointed, only finding out on arrival that due to this being dealt with by a third party, the restaurant managers had no idea of our previous correspondence. Not a cheap place but definitely worth it if you have an anniversary, birthday or other occasion.

It offers a cozy atmosphere and caters to various party sizes, providing private dining options as well as a function room for larger gatherings. The menu features a mix of classic Irish dishes made from locally sourced ingredients and international cuisine.
Didn't try the food, but had my first pint of Guinness in Ireland here. While they were busy I never felt ignored and had great service the whole time. Stephen was the bartender, he pulls a mean pint and set the standard for pubs. He even invited me to take a photo behind the bar and made my day! Thanks again!

Nancy Hands is an excellent, fun filled authentic Pub. Stephen looked after us all evening with a smile and a laugh.. whether we were at the Snug or the Restaurant. Their only desire is for all who come to have a grand time and enjoy themselves. The bar service was quick, and the food service was excellent. We had a variety of food and desserts.. all were fantastic. And do yourself a favour.. skip the “Pour a Pint” and “Drink your face off” add-ons at the Guinness Storehouse.. do it here.. at a real bar.. with a real barman! What a fun experience!

As a Dutch tourist I find this as an excellent first meal in a sportsbar upon my arrival in Dublin. The Shepherd's pie was tastfull, hot served and delicious. The Toffee Sticky pudding was yum, I was hmm hmm hmm the whole time, next table was jealous at my dessert. I would recommend both dishes.

Loved this pub! Great atmosphere and not as crowded as many other places in Dublin. I was there on Friday, October 3rd, and there was live music — the singer was really good and super friendly. Perfect spot for a pint, good tunes, and a relaxed local vibe. Definitely recommend!

I wouldn’t recommend it. From the outside, Nancy Hands looks nice, but inside the service is plain and the food doesn’t justify the price. There’s not much variety, the staff doesn’t have much patience to explain things, and the presentation is very basic — just a plain white plate and a pretty average burger for €20. It also feels more like a place made for tourists than for locals, which explains the prices and lack of attention to detail. My advice would be to train the staff better and improve the presentation. Personally, I wouldn’t go back anytime soon.

The Bar With No Name is a trendy and laid-back hangout located near Stephens Green Shopping Centre in Dublin. Despite its enigmatic exterior, this hip spot offers a unique experience with its art-adorned interior, comfortable sofas, and a popular brunch menu. The bar is known for serving great Guinness-sponsored beverages at competitive prices and even offers the option to have your picture served on top of your pint.
Very very cool place to go with your friends before you move to a nightclub

Good selection of cocktails however the ones we wanted were out of the homemade syrup so we had to try other cocktails on the menu. They were ok, nothing special. Atmosphere is really cool, great vibe and great service.

If I could, I would give zero starts. I was really surprised by this because its not my first time there and I wanted it to be nice and easy, just drinks with friends and family. I booked the reservation on time, sent an email as instructed (never got the confirmation but what can I do about it?) It was for my Birthday, the girl came and took the table as they said that its reserved. As was mine. It was important that its outside because we all smoke. He told my mom to get up and leave, extremely rude, harsh with words and it looked like he enjoyed it, sick. When I came staff member was TOO RUDE, said that it doesn't matter that I called, then booked via email, and that there is nothing he can do. I did everything that is required, overall my birthday was more complicated by this, I had to go get drinks by myself, they switched the drinks so many times and I said that its not my drink and they made me pay either way. nobody ever came to ask what would we like to drink, its usually a place that I like to visit and have my drinks. It was more than UNPLEASANT service. I didn't want to call the manager because I'm above it. Did it ruin my birthday? Yes it did. Will I go again? No I wont. Will I recommend the place? Absolutely not. I dont know why it's so hard to be a decent human being and see what u can do about the reservation because I did everything I was told to do. To be honest I regret not talking to the manager because I think that this behavior is unacceptable (i worked in service industry for years before and I have to say I've never seen anyone so rude and bad at their job with the smile on his face the whole time) Absolutely disrespectful. He of course didn't want to tell me his name, not surprised. Overall experience 2/10 If u want a drink that u didn't order, to be disrespected by staff members, and pay for that whole experience, this is the right place for you.

The Bar With No Name: A Plea to Preserve Its Soul ⭐⭐⭐ (3/5 stars) After 8+ loyal years at The Bar With No Name, I'm disheartened by recent changes since Simone left and new management took over. This wasn't just another Dublin pub - its house-like décor, alternative atmosphere, and exceptional cocktail menu (especially that unforgettable passion fruit caipirinha) made it truly special. Today, I found my favorite cocktails gone from the menu. The staff kindly made our passion fruit caipirinha when requested, but its absence from the menu signals a concerning shift. This matters because unique offerings attract unique people. By standardizing the menu, you risk becoming just another pub that could exist on any Dublin corner, attracting generic crowds rather than the distinctive clientele that built your reputation. The Bar With No Name has always been the place I proudly showed visiting friends - "You won't find this anywhere else." That exclusivity is your strength, not something to discard. This isn't a complaint but heartfelt feedback: your bar's character was built through years of distinctive choices. Honoring that legacy while evolving is possible. Please don't sacrifice what made this place extraordinary - Dublin has enough ordinary pubs, but only one Bar With No Name that we've loved for nearly a decade.

My friends and I walked in and spent less than 15 minutes inside. Maybe it was the weekend that we came but it was overpacked and not really our vibe. Hopefully we’ll come back during a less crowded time. Albeit this was the weekend of the Vikings vs Steelers game.

The food and cocktails were good, the cocktails were a little pricey but also really yummy so I would recommend trying them out when you have the chance. The atomosphere is fun, they have some really nice decor and the different types of indoor and outdoor seating. The bar itself is tough to find on the road but the experience is great!
Sunshine22 — Google review
They definitely need a lot of maintenance. It’s not cleaned, and not sure why they just keep things like this. There was dust. Unfortunately, I wasn’t comfortable at all. The employees are friendly and the place is crowded usually just like the other bars nearby.
Sibeesh V — Google review
Up a flight of stairs is a tucked away bar with many sides. The first is a small dark room with some couches. The left side is outdoors with covered seating (still wet in certain parts) but cozy and tons of seating. Inside there's a large room with table and couch seating. This bar has a good vibe for chilling and hanging out. No loud music, peaceful. I got the no name cocktail for 15€ which was tasty but a quick drink. The egg whites created a fluff to the top.

The Guinness Storehouse is a must-visit destination for beer enthusiasts and travelers in Dublin. It offers a captivating brewery experience that delves into the history of Ireland's famous Guinness beer, founded by Arthur Guinness in 1759. The storehouse, located on a 60-acre site west of Christ Church Cathedral, showcases the legacy of the iconic stout through engaging displays across six floors built around a central glass atrium shaped like a giant pint glass.
If tourists and Guinness beer aren’t your thing, you can skip this tour. Ha! This is a well-designed, modern, and thoughtfully curated museum dedicated to the history and craft of Guinness. Just note, it’s not a factory tour. I’d give the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin two thumbs up for a great way to spend a couple of hours in the city. The building itself is shaped like a giant pint glass, with seven stories in total. The main tour covers about three levels and walks you through the process of beer making. Floor 4 is all the fun advertising thought the years and media room to watch their iconic commercials. Don’t skip the tasting room, it’s a brilliant sensory experience where you can explore the aromas of Guinness and enjoy your first sample while learning how to properly drink the black stuff! You finish the tour in the Gravity Bar at the top (floor seven), which offers grand panoramic views of Dublin. All told, I give it five shamrocks outta five. Sláinte! 🍀🍺

Unforgettable Experience at Guinness Storehouse This weekend's visit to the Guinness Storehouse was truly amazing! We were captivated by the rich history of Guinness, expertly brought to life through interactive exhibits and engaging storytelling. The self-guided tour took us on a fascinating journey through the brewing process, from ingredients to iconic taste. Highlights: - Incredible History: Learned so much about Guinness's heritage and legacy - Interactive Exhibits: Engaging displays made the experience fun and memorable - Perfect Ending: Poured our own perfect pint at the Gravity Bar rooftop, with stunning Dublin views - Delicious Food Truck: Tried the tasty hotdog outside – a great snack! Guinness Storehouse is an absolute must-visit in Dublin! Allow at least 2 hours to soak it all in.

I had the opportunity to visit the Guinness Storehouse, which was the place I most wanted to see while in Ireland. There are interesting shops inside, and the history of the brewery, as well as the history of Ireland, is displayed and is fascinating to see. They demonstrate how to sample the stout, and there are delicious restaurants. Plus, the top floor offers panoramic views over the entire city of Dublin. The service staff are all great, and some were kind enough to offer me free beer samples (a pint :D). If I ever get the chance to return to Ireland, I will definitely visit this place again.
Manus P — Google review
It was a great experience. It was super well presented and everything was well organized. It was easily orientable and the progression was logical. Additionally, it was very interactive with all the different parts of the exhibition. Something i particularly liked was how on theme everything was throughout (such as the “roasting” part was in a room themed with furnace-like lighting)! Super cool. Would strongly suggest going.

A fun experience even if you're not a Guinness drinker. A self-guided tour across 7 floors where you can learn about the entire process of making Guinness and it's history as a brand including it's famous advertising. The ticket includes a free Guinness or other drink in the Gravity Bar on the top floor with views over Dublin. Can be very busy so best to book although you can get tickets at the door.

My visit to the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin was absolutely amazing! We bought our tickets online, which made everything quick and easy. The whole experience is designed by floors, and each level tells a different part of the Guinness story — from its rich history and iconic marketing campaigns to the brewing process itself. The concept is super well thought-out, interactive, and visually stunning. I loved learning about how the beer is made and how the brand became such a global symbol. You can even enjoy a non-alcoholic Guinness during the tour, which was a great option. Totally worth it!
Soletecuenta — Google review
I was unsure eif going as I thought it could be very touristy but honestly loved the experience, spend a number of hours there going through the different floors, learning about historical side and how it influenced and still is entertained with modern improvements. Highly recommend it! Also food is pretty good, we went to the bar and had pie and toastie then up to the rooftop bar for the pint included in ticket price. Views were gorgeous there!

The Guinness Storehouse is a must-visit in Dublin! The tour is fun, interactive, and full of history — from learning how Guinness is brewed to seeing old ads and memorabilia. The highlight is definitely the Gravity Bar at the top, where you can enjoy a perfectly poured pint with stunning 360° views of the city. Even if you’re not a big beer drinker, the experience is worth it for the atmosphere alone.

Barbecue restaurant
Bar
Bison Bar & BBQ is a Texas cowboy-themed joint located in the lively Temple Bar neighborhood of Dublin. The restaurant offers an extensive selection of BBQ plates and sandwiches, complemented by a wide range of craft beers and over 140 varieties of whiskey from around the world. The head chef draws inspiration from his travels to Memphis, resulting in a menu featuring American classics such as Pulled Pork Hush Puppies, St.
My husband was initially a bit suspicious about going for BBQ as he's spent a fair bit of time in Texas and didn't think that would ever be matched for a BBQ experience. Happily, this was not the case. When you go in, you will think you've entered a dive bar of the highest order. The front room is small, the goodies are out the back. Without a doubt, they serve the largest onion rings I have ever seen. I did think they might be super greasy as they were so large. This was an unfounded fear. They were perfectly cooked and nice and crisp. We had chicken, pork, and beef, and I couldn't honestly tell you which was my favourite. We didn't even use the supplied extra sauces as the meat was perfect. The loaded fries were also excellent with actual bacon pieces, not fatty lardons or fake bacon bits. We also got a whisky flight and our waitress went to the extra effort of covering the names so I could have fun seeing if my husband could find his favourite. He couldn't and was appropriately (gently) mocked. Our waitress was an absolute delight, super friendly, and super speedy! I wish her well in her degree. The other patrons who were clearly regulars were also wonderfully friendly, and we ended up having a chat with two other tables. Honestly, this was one of the best nights out I've had in a while, go get some excellent BBQ, you will not regret it.

Good quality hearty BBQ food on offer. The atmosphere is somewhat lacking in the restaurant but there is good service and they were relatively quick bringing food out. We enjoyed our food and would recommend but would personally try another restaurant before returning.

I had some fantastic ribs with cheesey macaroni. The ribs were cooked to perfection and almost melted in my mouth. I also had a delicious brownie with fudge sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. They also have some cocktails and I tried the Bison Hard Lemonade which tasted really good. They are going for a bit of a rustic look and it works. You feel comfortable straight away. At the start of my visit there there were only one person managing both the bar and restaurant part of the place. Despite this the service was fast and very friendly. If they were feeling stressed, I know I would, it didn't show. I'll happily come back for more ribs and hard lemonade

€19.50 for a jack Daniel’s and Coke? Never again. You are not in temple bar, you are not charging competitive prices for the rest of your drinks, this makes absolutely no sense and is an outrageous amount for a single shot and a dash of coke. I will be warning all of my friends about ever coming here.
Saoirse L — Google review
Lovely place very quirky, really cool smoking area for a bar and staff were very friendly and attentive. Only down fall was the food went cold very quickly, don't know whether this was due to a draft coming through to where we were sitting but food was tasty enough and what you would expect from a bbq place. We got the meat platters with all meats included, the beef sausage was my favourite very different. The ribs were less barbecue sauce but had more of a spice to them which didn't really appeal to us but was tasty all the same. The brisket is probably the best thing to get as its cooked to perfection and not smothered on bbq sauce so as to not take away from the flavour of the a actual brisket itself. The Mac and cheese was also very comforting and tasty.

Went today with my partner Very good food the beans, the ribs was amazing as well the pulled pork. Very tasty food with a good price : 2 meats + side for 27€ it's not bad at all for Dublin standards. Also the only waiter working serving people was very friendly polite and helpful. So service in general was top noch! I definitely will be back and I can recommend. I will try the chicken or the burger next time . Thanks

As an American who lived in North Carolina, I am used to good barbecue. This was truly a surprise, with both the pulled pork and the brisket very well-cooked with a good flavor. The nachos were also quite good.

Breakfast restaurant
Located on Baggot Street in Dublin's bustling business district, Doheny & Nesbitt is a renowned traditional pub with a rich history dating back to the early 19th century. This classic establishment is popular among political and journalistic circles, often hosting lively debates and discussions. The pub features Victorian architecture, original snugs, wooden floors, carved woodwork, and whiskey branded mirrors in the front bar. Additionally, it offers an Irish menu and a vibrant atmosphere during rugby days.
Our favourite pub in all of Dublin! We’re from Australia and loved everything about this place. It was lively with a brilliant two-man Irish band, great food, and warm service. My husband couldn’t stop ordering the Irish stew, while I loved the fish and chips - but the stout bread stole the show! The pub itself is stunning - spacious, vibrant, and full of energy. With live music, a buzzing crowd, and excellent service, it’s the perfect spot for an authentic Irish pub experience. Highly recommend!

Our first stop while arriving in Dublin. Great service upon entering the pub and the bartender gave us some good insights on what to do while being in Dublin. Ultimately it was a lovely chat and made it a good start of our trip. I had my first pint of Guinness I absolutely loved it and became my favorite beer. To go along with the pint, we had cottage pie (gluten free) and a classic toastie. They were both quite excellent and blew our expectations out of the water. I recommended going here to hangout, eat and enjoy the vibes.

A recommendation from a long time friend and Irishman, this bar exudes old Dublin charm and grace. The best Guinness in all of Dublin and, honestly, the best locally brewed IPA here too. The food was spectacular and if you leave any gravy, it should rate as a crime against the culinary arts. On top of all that, nightly live music is devine. A true Dublin institution, well worth your visit.

One of my favourite pubs in Dublin. Timeless charm, authentic atmosphere, traditional Irish music and one of the best pints of Guinness in town. Over 130 years old, it still maintains its original character. You can see old whiskey casks, pumps and tankards in the bar and the wood partitions together with the antique mirrors give a genuine and pleasant atmosphere in which to drink. Slaínte!

A first time visit and was very impressed. Lovely welcome, helpful and knowledgeable staff who offered suggestions and explained the dishes we were interested in. We had Vietnamese Rolls & Bao Buns, both with Soft Shell Crab Tempura to start and Seafood Tom Yum for mains, which was plentiful and delicious. A Perfect Date Night Spot We had a wonderful date night at Opium on Wexford Street, Dublin. The food was absolutely delicious—full of flavour and beautifully presented. The cocktails were just as impressive, crafted with care, and packed with personality. Even without a booking, we were able to sit at the bar, which turned out to be a great experience. The staff were friendly, helpful, and made us feel completely welcome, even taking the time to chat and guide us through the menu. The ambience was warm and inviting—perfect for a cosy evening out. The food was excellent. The bang bang mayo chicken wings had a delicious sauce with a lasting aftertaste, and the panko tiger prawns were perfectly crunchy on the outside yet light, without the heaviness of batter. The green curry was absolutely outstanding, rich in flavor and with a great texture, highly recommended. I also enjoyed the pad kee mao, which was less spicy than I expected but still beautifully seasoned. The staff were attentive and genuinely kind, making the experience even better. The place itself is comfortable, with background music at just the right volume, enough to set the mood while still allowing easy conversation without raising your voice.

The Bernard Shaw Pub is a vibrant spot in Dublin with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The pints typically cost between €6–€8, which is in line with city prices. The ambience is casual and lively, with colorful décor and often a soundtrack of local chatter or live music. What really stands out, though, is the staff—friendly, attentive, and quick with a smile (and a recommendation if you’re unsure what to order!). Whether you’re popping in for one drink or settling in for the evening, it’s a great place to enjoy a well-poured pint in a relaxed, social setting.

Neary's is a traditional Irish pub situated near the back entrance of the Gaiety Theatre, making it a popular spot for actors and theater enthusiasts. One of my favourite pubs in town. A place with more than 100-year-old history. It's a mandatory stop every time I have visitors or guests. I love their atmosphere, their menu, and their selection of spirits, wines and beers; specially the local craft ones. Their gigs upstairs are unmissable.

Now, I may be quite a hungry hungry hippo for a medium sized woman approaching middle age, but I’d still wager there are people with bigger appetites than me. Is it too much to ask not to be left hungry after a €12.50 sandwich? I wish I had the menu description at hand, it said something about sourdough and something about a crisp salad… so there is definitely a disparity between what was described and what was delivered. That said, service is friendly, fast and the atmosphere is nice and relaxed, no loud music at least in the afternoon.

I waited my whole life to have a Guiness and was told by our cabbie this was the perfect place to have my first and it totally was! Loved the charm of the old charm of the pub and the sassy owner /bartenders that made us feel right at home. When you are visiting you must stop in for a pint. The food looked really good too!

It's an old school Dublin pub. Great staff with good chat. Plenty of tourists getting the vibe but also lots of Dubs and Irish keeping it the way it has been for years. We have moved out if Dublin but when we stay in a hotel, we like to check out the old pubs around the city. Nearys is a classic and well worth a visit

The grand Old Dame of Dublin pubs. Great service on atmosphere I'll be at the younger staff are not as quick to the mark as the more experienced members. What are the finest places to enjoy a pint of the black stuff and a chat with a good friend.

The Back Page is a popular bar in Dublin that offers entertainment and delicious thin-crust pizzas with unique toppings. Each pizza is named after a sports star, adding to the fun atmosphere of the place. The bar also hosts a weekly giveaway for free pizzas. This pub is well-loved by locals and visitors alike, offering a wide selection of beers, cocktails, and games to enjoy while watching various sports on their multiple screens.
Seems it is a very famous bar in this area. It looks ordinary and not big from outside but entering is a completely different world. The space is very spacious and divided into different areas. You can choose a quiet second floor or a game area on the first floor. Love the atmosphere which is warm. The pizza is delicious full of cheese, which makes you feel full of satisfaction.

Great location and atmosphere for watching sports, tasty pizza and pints. A great selection of pinball machines have been added recently (with fun tournaments every second Wednesday run by Pinbaile). Lovely sense of community and a friendly place for all.

Food is really really good! But the blonde girl who brought us the food was completely rude! She even made us a look! And basically throw the pizza with a mad face and in the 3rd time we order another pizza she throw it so heavy she throw some of my beer in my leg!!

I am still in shock to be honest. Booked a table for 6.30pm and sat there unattended until 7pm. Orders were taken by Jasmine who took the orders with a hand held order phone which took a while as it was new to her. 15 minutes later Jasmine returned to apologise for the delay as the system wasn't working so had to retake all the order including drinks by pen and paper. In the meantime I went and bought drinks at the bar myself as I quickly realised Jasmine was working alone on the floor and had several other tables suffering from similar delays. Drinks arrived eventually but after a long delay not to mention that after all this time, the member of the party who ordered an orange juice was told they didn't have any so they still had no drink 50 minutes after sitting down. Food arrived in stages and the quality was good in fairness. After ordering a second round of drinks, a further delay ensued so I went to the bar to see what was happening. There was 1 barman on duty and after watching him serve a busy crowd on his own with swift efficiency, I knew the problem didn't lie with him. The machine behind him kept spewing out orders and he did his best to keep on top of everything. I watched as Jasmine tried ask him several times to pour our drinks for the table order but he could only do so much. Enough was enough so I asked to speak with the manager. She was on a break I was informed. Eventually she returned from her break and I explained what had happened. Her response was to blame the faulty equipment and that despite how under pressure the single barman and floor staff were, she was entitled to her 10 minute break. During my time at the bar, I had not set eyes on her for over 25 minutes. I applaud Jasmine and the Bar Man for their composure throughout the chaos but nobody in this day and age should work under such despicable circumstances. The management is deplorable, inexperienced and not suitable. As for the venue, great atmosphere, good food and fun place for a drink with friends. Owners need to take a serious look at management staffing though.

The atmosphere is great! The staff were very helpful with the booking, especially the Spanish guy! We booked for a birthday party and we were allowed to bring our own homemade cake (not many pubs allows that). For food we ordered at the pizzeria and it arrived quickly to our table outside, even tho it was busy. They booked us a table where the games are but it was too warm there, and we didn’t like it that’s why we ended up sitting outside. I will definitely come back !

The Back Page is a great location to meet up for casual drinks and delicious pizza. Our gang tried the hot wings challenge plate, we'd recommend it to anyone that likes hot sauces! The atmosphere is lively, with a good crowd there most evenings and weekends. There are plenty of TVs to watch matches on inside, however there are tables further down into the beer garden where there is no line of sight on any screens. I'm taking off one star as we booked a table online for 10 people 1 week in advance; the booking was accepted however when we got there only 5 of us could fit at the tiny tables set aside for us at the very back of the beer garden. We spoke to a manager that said he'd take a look for us but never returned. Luckily another group left before we ordered food and we were able to move to their larger table (no way our pizzas would have fitted on the smaller tables.) If you are booking space for a group I'd recommend calling to check where the table is located!

McDaids is a traditional pub located just off Grafton Street in Dublin, Ireland. The interior features stained glass and dark wood, with an ornate high ceiling that immediately catches the eye upon entering. The pub's history dates back to the mid-19th century and it has retained its original style and charm despite being situated in a bustling area. It was a popular spot for Irish post-war writers and continues to attract patrons seeking an authentic atmosphere.
What a lovely little pub with a really friendly owner. Went to see the Phil Lynott statue and it was pouring down. Pub hadn't quite opened but we were welcomed in and had a great pint of Guinness and looked after. Also got given a couple of Guinness T Shirts. What Ireland is all about. Reminds me of folk in my home town of Liverpool. Nice to be nice.

We stopped by last Friday afternoon whilst in town shopping. firstly I have to say the staff were a joy to interact with, polite and very helpful. as you can imagine for a warm, dry Friday afternoon the watering hole was full of locals and tourists which made for a great atmosphere. The pint of Guinness was very good and not too pricey at €7.20 for the location. It was great for myself and herself to sit at the bar and try to identify the characters in the old photos. I would definitely recommend you drop in for a pint if near by, I will definitely be back soon.

It was a pleasant atmosphere, but people kept smoking in the doorway, which was unpleasant. The bartender kindly asked the two gentlemen twice to move, but they didn't go far. Otherwise, it's a really cool spot for a pint. There is some neat history on the walls to read about.

David is a quintessential Irish Barkeep. Love the history of the Pub and friendly regulars that helped us find our way to lunch. Drinks were delicious and cold.

Nice spot for a pint; definitely more of a local watering hole than a tourist spot which is great. Packed to the gills with patrons, lots of whom seemed to be regulars, so service was a bit rushed. Only downside was my Guinness pint was also a bit rushed and wasn’t the greatest. Still worth a visit!

This bar is a staple location for nights out you never know if it will be a quite chat with friends over a pint or meeting new people leading to new adventure's. However it is more expensive than other bars in the area, I paid a euro to a euro fifty cent more here for the same drinks I hot in another bar less than 4 minutes walk away.

A must stop. Beautiful building friendly locals and good pints.

A small room traditional old pub. I stopped for a Guiness late at noon time. I asked for finger food to pair my beer only to be told that no food is served. Very few people around and much quiet site at this time. A few people were sipping their drinks sitting on stools next to a couple of black barrels in a small yeard at the entrance door. Walls are painted in dark colors and fully covered by pictures and ads signs. I was impressed by the decorative tiles behind the bar! I hope place is more vivid at a later time within the day. If you are fan of the Thin Lizy irish rock group take a photo of the Phil Lynott bronze statue just opposite the pub entrance door.

Tucked away on 25 Dawson Street, The Dawson Lounge is renowned as the smallest pub in Dublin. Despite its limited space, this cozy and intimate bar offers a unique and snug atmosphere for visitors. Descend down a spiral staircase to enter this microscopic yet charming establishment where you can enjoy reasonably priced pints of Guinness. With a total capacity of around 40 people and seating for half that number, it's an ideal spot for those seeking a more intimate setting.

Quite possibly my favourite bar I've drank in, definitely one of the best in Dublin for sure. Tucked away in a residential estate , always buzzing with people having a good time. The staff are amazingly sound, it's dog friendly , and they have a wall with all the dogs that come in photographed. The food is provided by tokyo kitchen who have a spot around the corner , they serve delicious Japanese small and main plates. They have great deals on food and pints. They play good music. What's not to love. Great spot

Best katsu curry I’ve had in Dublin so far. I had the tofu curry. It was flavorful and delicious. Most katsu curries I had in Dublin were unfortunately bland. This was an exception I found in an unlikely place. Crispy breaded tofu, flavorful gravy and perfect rice, warm and crispy.

The pub is just a short 5 to 10-minute walk from the Luas. It’s a really cozy and welcoming place, with a warm, relaxed atmosphere. One of the highlights is that it’s pet-friendly — which we really appreciated! We were there with two kids, and it was great to see how child-friendly the environment is. Everyone felt comfortable and well taken care of. The food is Japanese-style and very tasty. I had the vegetable gyoza — I’m vegetarian — and it was delicious. They offer options for both vegetarians and meat-eaters, which is a big plus. We also had a pint of cider, and it was excellent. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the music added a great touch to the vibe. Overall, a lovely spot with great food, a welcoming team, and a chill, family- and pet-friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended!

I'm a millennial so this was a very cool place for me lol. Bartender nailed it with the drinks and the vibe was great. I wish they had their own menu though. Have to order from the place next door. Which is still good but they were out of a few things because it was the weekend. Waitress brought the food and when we asked if she could bring plates, utensils, napkins she was annoyed and said I have to go back next door and get it. Like, no shit. Don't you have a partnership with this bar and shouldn't have brought it in the first place? Jackie's needs their own menu.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Hidden Gem Full of Nostalgia – Jackie’s Bar, Dublin 🇮🇪* I stumbled across *Jackie’s Bar* completely by chance — and what an unforgettable experience it turned out to be. As I walked past, the display of *classic CRT TVs, a retro boombox,* and vintage decor caught my eye instantly. It felt like stepping into a time capsule, and I couldn’t resist going in. From the moment I entered, I was transported back to the golden era of the *80s and 90s.* The entire bar is packed with iconic items from decades past — every corner tells a story. If you're into nostalgia, this place is a dream. *Fred*, the barman, was incredibly warm and welcoming. He offered me a small taster before I ordered a full pint — a lovely gesture you don’t see often anymore. The vibes inside were unmatched — relaxed, fun, and full of character. It genuinely felt like being back in the 90s with great music, good people, and a unique atmosphere that’s hard to find these days. I've taken some brilliant photos which I’ll be including in this review — but honestly, no picture can fully capture the charm this place offers. *A must-visit spot in Dublin if you’re craving something different, nostalgic, and memorable.* I’ll definitely be back. 👌🍻🇮🇪

We visited this place on the evening of this last Saturday the 11th. I’m so glad my colleague and I chose to go to this place in the city. I’m sure every place has its unique hospitality in this wonderful city. Our server for the night was Danielle. She was such a sweetheart. Gave us such a warm welcome and was super friendly. We came all the way from Toronto tried this place. Such a great vibe inside, plus the playlist they had playing was our fav. They even gave out candy from the 90s which was super nostalgic and yummy. Loved every bit of this place❤️ Made our day, thank you for your kind and generous hospitality will def come back. We were mostly served by Danielle but all of the staff members were super kind and had a huge smile on their faces. They were all very accommodating. I love this country, and Irish people are just too kind and friendly, making our day one after the other. They never let me down. So grateful to have visited 🇮🇪❤️ I really hope the owner recognizes Danielle and all its employees for all that they do for all of their customers. Thank you again✨

Live music venue
Pub
The Cobblestone, located in Smithfield, Dublin, is a traditional Irish music pub owned by a family with deep roots in the city's music scene. It's a favorite among locals and visitors alike for its nightly live trad music sessions featuring some of Ireland's top musicians. The cozy venue offers an authentic Irish vibe and is known for its lively atmosphere.
Absolutely lovely - I've seen a few sessions in my native Edinburgh, but it's hard to beat an Irish trad session in Ireland proper. I even got to see some Uilleann pipes played. Great pints too. Contrary to some other reviews, on a rainy Thursday night, it wasn't too packed - I got a great view of the musicians and within half an hour managed to bag myself a barstool at the bar for front row seats! I'd definitely say to come earlier though: the crowd was quieter and more respectful at 8:30 when I arrived than at 10:30 - but even at 10:30 there was still a loud SHUSH! sent up whenever somebody raised their voice over a comfortable background hubbub 😄

The best pub in Dublin and has been for years. The cats outta the bag though because every tourist knows now thanks to Colbert!!!! Richard A — Google review
The Cobblestone Pub – Come for the Music, Stay for the Humanity We came early for the live traditional music — and ended up staying for hours. The music was everything we hoped for: raw, real, and magnetic. But what truly elevated our night was the people behind the bar and the feeling of being welcomed into something much bigger than a pub. While waiting for the session to start, we had the chance to chat with the staff, which was not only fun but surprisingly educational. One bartender kindly clued me in on an important cultural lesson: never order a Black and Tan in Ireland. I had no idea the term refers to the British paramilitary forces sent to suppress Irish independence in the 1920s. It’s an understandably loaded phrase here — not something to casually say at the bar. Grateful for the gentle correction and the history lesson I’ll never forget. I also walked away with newfound respect for Guinness and the subtle factors that influence its taste. Ever heard of invisible congealed milk solids? They can cling to a glass if it’s been used for an Irish coffee and not rinsed well, and they noticeably affect the pour. I’ll never look at a pint the same way again. Special shoutout to Camille, the most intuitive bar server I’ve ever encountered. She’s French, and her quiet command of the room was impressive — kind, proactive, and deeply attuned. She encouraged the quieter guests to order without pressure and even offered water to someone who didn’t want a drink. No ego, no flash — just genuine hospitality. I watched her treat everyone with the same care. We stayed for a few hours of music, and it felt like being part of a living tradition — not just a show. The Cobblestone has soul. If you’re visiting Dublin and want to feel something real, go early, grab a seat, and let the night carry you.

The Temple Bar Pub is an iconic and legendary venue in the heart of Dublin's Temple Bar area. With a history dating back to the 1300s, it remains a popular destination for tourists and locals alike. Known for its vibrant nightlife, live performances, and famous red exterior, it also offers a licensed garden where visitors can enjoy craft beers and a delicious food menu featuring items like oysters and toasties.
The Temple Bar Pub: An Irish Institution (Brace Yourself!) ☘️💚 If you're looking for an authentic, quiet, deep-conversation Irish pub experience, keep walking. If you're looking for pure, unadulterated, tourist-fueled, high-energy Dublin fun, **The Temple Bar Pub** is your pilgrimage site. It's loud, it's packed, and yes, the pints are famously expensive, but you simply *must* go once, just to say you've done it! This place runs on charisma, traditional music, and sheer volume. The music is almost constant, the crowd is global, and the atmosphere is electric. It is a spectacle of Irish culture (as interpreted for a worldwide audience!) and an absolutely brilliant spot for people-watching and soaking up the chaotic charm of the area it is named after. The sheer volume of red paint and old whiskey bottles might make it feel like a themed museum, but the warmth of the traditional music and the sheer joy of the crowd keep it alive. Grab a pricey pint, fight your way to a spot, and let the session wash over you. It's a rite of passage! You'll leave feeling a bit poorer but undeniably happier. It’s a five-star experience in madness, and sometimes, that’s exactly what the soul needs. A huge thanks to the bar staff who manage to pour those pints at lightning speed—you deserve a medal and a quiet retreat! 🫂🇸🇪 5/5 Stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🇻🇦🕊✝️🕯🙏🏻

Tourist trap but I'd go again. I knocked service down cuz a server gave himself a generous tip and I didn't catch it cuz I was having fun and they know it. My 1st server was great. Ya order either by QR code or grab servers as they walk by. Grab a seat anywhere, it doesn't matter if ya know people or not, everyone is family. Be sure to select your own tip, especially if you're American, they'll kinda expect it but ya don't have to. Lesson learned, don't just tap the machine, check it. Food was fine but everything was priced slightly higher than other pubs. Music was loud but good. It's crowded and hard to chat. Overall, good visit, box checked, plenty of other fun pubs. Check your bill closely and no, I wouldn't bring kids to this pub at night, maybe during the early evening.

During my visit in October, this was one of the most enjoyable bars I went to, beautifully decorated with a Christmas theme. The white-haired singer performing on stage was an incredibly talented artist who took the bar’s atmosphere to another level. When we went, it was absolutely packed we had a hard time getting inside, but that didn’t stop us. While ordering a pint at the bar, I met two Irish guys who bet me that I couldn’t drink my Guinness all the way down to the logo in one go and of course, I couldn’t manage it 😅 The Guinness was excellent though, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who hasn’t tried it yet 🍻

Food was great (Had the margarita pizza) Service was good but the overall aesthetic is what really stood out to me. the neon pink branding extended to lights, carpets and various fixtures which just gave the place a nice visual consistency. Didn’t get to see too much of the interior as we sat outside but would happily visit again if I’m in the area.

One of the weirdest experiences I've ever had. Firstly we were looking for a place to grab a drink and a little bite l and we saw this placqe that looked like a restaurant, I thought why not go here. There was a server at the door standing in my way, so I asked her if we could get a table, thinking she was blocking out way because we need to wait to be seated. She then stares at us for a moment before I ask, can I just take that table over there. She then stares a little bit longer then says "yeah". First weird interaction making me not feel very welcome. Next, we take a seat outside because it was nice with the heater on and under cover. We then realised the website to order with wasn't working to order at the table, so we go up to the bar to order because we couldn't find any servers to help us. The bar tender was very awkward to interact with and was confusing. I asked him about ordering food and he said you have to do it at the table but I said none of the staff we're helping me. He said again, order at the table, such a weird interaction. I then got back to the table and after waiting a bit finally a server was able to assist us. We ordered one food item and it was good. It's pretty much the only reason we're giving a two star review because the drinks and food were good. Lastly the final reason this place has left a bad taste in my mouth was about 5-10 minutes after getting out food, they switched off the heaters and removed the awning! We started getting really good and uncomfortable, we left a few minutes after. Even though a couple of people complied about this happen, they didn't do anything to make it more enjoyable. It was almost like the staff wanted us to be uncomfortable and leave? I really liked the look of this place, but the way we were served it was just so uncomfortable and not an enjoyable experience. Can't recommend.

We went there last Sunday. It was a bank holiday Sunday. It was too cramped and loud, but that’s okay. It is a pub and it was busy. We had a Guinness and a cocktail cocktail was the zombie. I was totally disappointed by the way, the server made the cocktail. I wish I could have taken a video, but she did not even pour a full short glass while making the cocktail, I could see the short class was only half to 3/4 full and the way he made it was very clumsy and my cocktail glass was not even full when he served me. This was along with the ice. I would recommend the staff to pay attention in cocktail makings even when it’s busy!! It was expensive as well along with their claim of 40% off on drinks on sundays!!

One of the best brick over pizzas I have had. Sitting in the center of Powerscourt, this busy restaurant checked all the boxes. I loved watching the chefs pumping out pizza after pizza: fascinating! A short detour from Grafton St. Add it to your list of must-visit restaurants.

I can’t believe I’m writing this but I was here on 26th of September for work night out. The staff didn’t check up on us at all. We had to call a waitress over, twice, to our table to take our order after already waiting for 25 minutes. Drinks took 20 minutes to come, food was extremely salty. They didn’t accommodate gluten free options, there was one person at our table that had to eat bruschetta as their entire meal because they wouldn’t accommodate us, to which this person then had to leave the restaurant to get fresh air because of how nauseous she felt after. They also failed to mention about any cross contamination for two people which have nut allergies. The pizza was horrible, oily, soggy and burnt. Overall, do not recommend this place to anyone. Absolutely ridiculous.

7 of us are here at here at the last minute on a Saturday night and it was great. We had no booking and they found room for us. When the pizzas arrived we were blown away by the quality. The tomato base is exceptional and definitely worth experiencing. Great host and the team were very attentive.

Cassidy's is a hidden gem located in the bustling Temple Bar area, just 20 meters from the river. Unlike the surrounding tourist traps, this bar attracts mostly locals and savvy tourists looking for an authentic experience. While the toilets may not be spotless, the friendly bartenders, extensive craft beer selection, lively music, and availability of board games make it a popular choice.
Was in Dublin for a couple of nights and great to have stopped into Cassidy's because it's now my favourite in the city! It's got a great vibe, love the music, and has a brilliant selection of drinks. You can tell it's a good pub when you pop in for a quick pint and end up having three!

Cassidy’s Pub is an absolute gem in the heart of Dublin! The atmosphere is unbeatable — lively, welcoming, and full of character. The decor is quirky and fun, with great music and a crowd that always seems to be in good spirits. The staff are super friendly and make you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. Service is fast, even when the place is packed, and the pints are always poured to perfection (especially the Guinness!). It’s the perfect spot for a night out with friends or a casual drink after work. There’s a great mix of locals and visitors, which gives it that authentic Dublin vibe. Cassidy’s has quickly become one of my favourite pubs in the city — if you’re in Dublin 2, don’t miss it!

Place seemed nice at first glimpse. The barkeeper was on his period I guess. We started playing a simple game with dice what makes him mad. We made some fun and sometimes a cheer. By the end of our pint he complained 3 times to stop making noice for the other 10 guests.

If you like your music eclectic and a interesting decor. Both on the walls and the customers - then head for Cassidy's. Where Daniel and Sean will look after you. Great solo traveler pub. To just hang out. So glad I found it by just letting the wind blow me this way!

Spent a Tuesday evening here as a couple. We sat at the outdoor terrace which had a lovely vibe, our server was friendly and chatty and overall the atmosphere was great. The servers also check on you often and food/drinks arrive fast. It got pretty loud and lively at times, but you can still have conversation. We had the special pizza (which had tuna tartare) it was so unique and unlike anything we had before, we absolutely loved it. I can confidently recommend their house cocktails as well, we had a few of those and they were amazing (especially the Regina!) We will be back:)

Such a cool and hip vibe to spend time on Friday night. The pizza is not sure with the price. It has lovely doughs but also has mussy toppings on the top with a small size. And the most annoying point is actually that all the staffs keep asking to order more like 3 times in 10 mins. We just finished pizzas and is kinda full to be honest with no room for drinks yet. But it feels like forcing to pour liquid into my stomach and then became so lazy to not chat anymore. I tried their cocktails a long time ago and it was average. Anyway it’s just all about the atmosphere.

I adored this restaurant and beer garden. The vibe was wonderful there and the beer tent was such a fun vibe. The beer list had lots of options and the personal sized pizza were amazing! As a sour beer lover and vegan there were plenty of options!

Had lunch here on the terrace on a very sunny day. They have a lunch special which is 3 dishes for €30. We got his which was loaded chicken tenders, fish tacos and steak sandwich. L. Mulligan Grocer, located in the evocatively named village of Stoneybatter on the Northside of Dublin, is a gastropub and world-beer emporium that has retained its authentic Dublin feel despite its transformation from an old local grocer. The spot offers a wide selection of small-label ales, lagers, and stouts, making it a destination for beer enthusiasts.
We did not have a reservation, we messed that up. But the host was able to get us seated in under an hour. Honestly, best food drinks and service we have had in our 2 week tour of the UK, British Isles, and Ireland. The waitstaff was friendly and accommodating. The chefs outdid themselves. Had the fish and chips and the fish was so fresh and clean tasting, the chips were cooked perfectly, and the tartar sauce was outstanding. The duck wings had the best flavor, juicy and tender. The Bleu cheese dip was so unique and tasty. Our cocktails were amazing. Strong, but amazing! Overall an exceptional experience.

Very good food - special shout out to the modern take on a black pudding! We would 100% go back to eat there again, but the service unfortunately felt quite rushed and disorganized. Other than that the staff was friendly and helpful in picking out whiskey and wine, and all in all we enjoyed our dinner there.

Had a terrible experience at PantiBar on Culture Night. The bouncer (guy in the picture) refused entry to my black friend, despite her complying with all requests, while the rest of us were allowed in. When questioned, he replied, “because your attitude stinks.” He then took photos of us without consent and followed us down the street making noises. This was discriminatory, intimidating, and completely unacceptable. For a bar known for celebrating inclusivity, the experience felt anything but inclusive.

Restaurant
Nestled in the Dublin Mountains, Johnnie Fox's Pub is a traditional Irish establishment with a rich history dating back to the 18th century. Originally a small holding farm that provided refuge for Irish fighters during the 1798 Rebellion, it has evolved into a beloved pub known for its live Irish music, storytelling, and hooley nights. The pub offers stunning mountain views, cozy interiors with open fires, and even welcomes dogs in a designated area.
One of Ireland’s oldest pubs, situated up in the Dublin mountains. As soon as you arrive and walk in, you can sense the Irish history and tradition within the pub. Beautifully decorated and very nostalgic. The food is also excellent and reasonably priced for how popular the pub is. The prawns are cooked in a nice buttery and spicy sauce. The main are decent size. I was too stuffed to try dessert but they looked fantastic. Only problem is I had to drive so I could only manage one solid pint of G. Would have loved to had 9 more. If you’re in Dublin, do find the time to have a meal or evening here. You won’t be disappointed.

Nestled at the top of Camden Street, Hang Dai Chinese offers a dining experience that transcends the ordinary. Drawing inspiration from the iconic film Blade Runner, this restaurant boasts a striking interior adorned with neon lights and futuristic design elements, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a stylish train carriage. The menu is equally impressive, featuring modern takes on beloved Chinese dishes like sesame prawn sourdough toast with yuzu mayo and mapo tofu with minced pork.
Visited here last week with my fiance and we're very impressed. Staff is very friendly, greet you at the entrance. All of our food was delicious and everything on the menu is explained, portions weren't massive but we were pleasantly full when leaving. We were also very happy with the price which was very reasonable for the level of food served.

Our meal at Hang Dai was one of our favorite dinners in Ireland. Weird right? It's a fantastic restaurant. The taxi driver almost talked us out of it with the "ya come all the way to Ireland and eat Chinese food" (edited) slur. I'm so glad we ignored that! From the moment we walked through the door we were greeted in such a warm way. Every single person working there was super friendly, helpful and polite. The vibe is super cool ... fun seating. The only issue is the pictures turn out kooky due to the reddish lighting. We had pork dumplings, grilled scallop with glass noodles, green beans and a prawn dish (that I can't remember what it was called). Everything was incredibly tasty! I loved the green beans especially, but the husband thought they should have been more crisp. I ate until I thought I might explode. Sooooo good. The place isn't inexpensive, but it's fantastic.

Because we ordered to much, we couldn't eat everything up, even though we wanted to. Pub
Grogan's, a historic pub in Dublin, has been a hub for literary and artistic gatherings since the 1970s. The absence of music and television encourages lively conversations among its bohemian clientele. The pub is known for its famous toasted cheese sandwiches made with Irish cheddar and local ham, which pair perfectly with a pint of your choice. Its vibrant outdoor terrace on South William Street is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike.
Great local bar with unique atmosphere!! Fair price on the drinks, specially on Guinness!! Nice neighborhood and less turistic than temple bar with a much better beer vs cost !! I would recommend this bar to anyone looking for a good experience in Dublin!!

I went in this Irish Pub last Sunday, it was my Irish boyfriend’s recommendation. The place doesn’t have music or TV, just people enjoying the drinks and lunch with a love chat. The Staffs are very efficient and kind. We enjoyed the Wine and Guiness beer with nice bread+ham+cheese +tomatoes.
Juliana S — Google review
This pub was recommended to us by our tour guide and oh my God, she was right. The atmosphere is amazing, there is no music just people talking vibing and drinking. It’s so simple but so magical at the same time. I’m not even the biggest fan of beer but I had two Guinnesses which together with the toast tasted very good. The guys working at the bar are the nicest people we met in Ireland. Please do yourself a favour and go there 💚🤍🧡

Great vibes for all ages. Best toastie in Dublin. Good arn on the Guinness too!

Best Guinness in Dublin! It was super packed before NFL game but the bartenders were savages and we got our drinks amazingly fast!
John M — Google review
This is a great spot for a beer. Very much a when in Rome spot… The Guinness just tastes better in Ireland. Did not try the food. Filled with locals - had a beer with a woman in a business suit on my left and a guy holding up the bar on my right. All packed in and all drinking Guinness.
Jason M — Google review
Stepping into Grogan's Castle Lounge on South William Street feels less like entering a Dublin pub and more like arriving at the vibrant heart of the city's literary and artistic soul. In a downtown area constantly reinventing itself, Grogan's remains gloriously, steadfastly, the same—a haven for conversation, art, and, most importantly, one of the best pints of Guinness in all of Dublin. The reputation is well-earned. Whether it's the care taken in the two-part pour, the high turnover of kegs keeping the stout impossibly fresh, or just the pure, unadulterated "craic" of the setting, the pint of Guinness here is exceptional. It arrives with a perfect, creamy dome, velvety smooth from the first sip to the last. For Guinness aficionados, this is a pilgrimage site—a masterclass in how the Black Stuff should taste. But Grogan's is about more than just a supreme stout; it’s about the unique atmosphere. You won't find loud music or flashing televisions here. Instead, the soundtrack is the steady, warm hum of genuine conversation, debate, and laughter. The walls are adorned with original artwork (all of which is for sale), giving the space a bohemian, gallery-like feel. It's a genuine melting pot where poets, regulars, students, and tourists rub shoulders in cozy camaraderie. And a review of Grogan's wouldn't be complete without mentioning the iconic toasted sandwich. Simple, old-school, and satisfyingly cheesy, this classic Irish ham and cheddar toastie is the perfect, necessary accompaniment to the world-class pint. Grogan’s is an essential Dublin experience. It honors the best traditions of the Irish pub: great drinks, simple food, and conversation with friendly staff and fellow patrons. If you want an authentic, unforgettable pint of Guinness, skip the noise and head straight for the quiet, captivating magic of Grogan's.
Sarang A — Google review
J.J. Grogan's is my favorite pub in Ireland for many reasons. First, they pour as fine a creamy pint of Guinness as you can find anywhere in Ireland. Though they never stop pouring beer, they treat each customer as an honored guest. And if you come back tomorrow, Karl the barman will remember your name and the beer you had the day before. If you are looking for a pub steeped in Irish history and filled with regulars so interesting you'll want to meet them all, this is your place. There's no music here for a reason. You won't see people scrolling TikTok. Grogan's is a real place where you can meet and enjoy talking to real people. And while you're doing so, get them to make you a ham and cheese and tomato and onion toastie. And if you say hold the onions today, Karl the barman will remember it tomorrow when you come. Grogan's is special. Go there and have a special pint and an experience you will never forget.

Bar
O'Donoghues Bar, located on Merrion Row in Dublin, is a renowned traditional music pub that has been at the heart of the city's folk and traditional music scene since the 1960s. It gained fame for launching the career of The Dubliners and continues to host nightly live sessions featuring classic and modern interpretations of Irish music. The bar also offers simple en suite bedrooms for visitors.
Great little spot just off the Green! Incredibly cozy and friendly with a very nice drink selection. You can sit outside in the large patio area, or settle in at the bar or the snug style seating in the rear. Enjoy the wall filled with photos of locals and celebrities while you enjoy your drink. There was a great mix of tourists and locals during my visit, and it was recommended by a Dublin native as a nice local place. Oh! And the urinal trough made me feel like I was at a Buffalo Bills home game :-P
Greg W — Google review
O'Donoghues Bar in Dublin is an absolute gem! The staff are incredibly welcoming and genuinely make an effort to ensure everyone has a fantastic experience. The highlight for me was the excellent Guinness – poured perfectly, with that rich, creamy head that every Guinness should have. It truly tastes like an authentic pint of Ireland. Adding to the charm is the fantastic live music. The musicians bring such energy and passion, creating a lively and enjoyable ambiance that perfectly complements the great company, drinks, and setting. O'Donoghues Bar is a must-visit spot for anyone looking to soak up classic Irish hospitality, enjoy top-notch Guinness, and experience some unforgettable live music. Highly recommended!
S E — Google review
I stayed here for a few days. The bar was a neat space with live music, very lively. The rooms were clean and charming, the staff was friendly. Given it is a popular bar it is loud with the windows open, but they have excellent sound proofed windows and we had no problem sleeping. One note, you have to check-in at the bar which was no obvious when we arrived.
Matthew C — Google review
Charming room above a historic pub. Enjoyed our one night here and a fun timw with friends at the pub on a separate occasion. Staff was beyond attentive and friendly. No lift so only suitable for those able to climb a few flights of stairs

We had an amazing time at O'Donoghue's, with an amazing feel, look and energy to the place. The pints were definitely on the more expensive side it has to be admitted, but the bartenders were warm and welcoming and the drinks were well served. You simply must go for a trad night here, well worth the visit it has to be said.

A REAL classic Irish bar. Got this one recommended for some genuine Irish culture. Ended up in the backyard with lokal singers and band. A really nice place for a quiet Sunday drinking experience. This was the highlight of our trip regarding some real Irish music.
Ole R — Google review
We only had drinks in the pub, we didn’t stay overnight but just could not believe how rude the bar man was. The bald barman, who wouldn’t give his name when asked was possibly one of the rudest bar staff I have ever met in my life, really ruins a great spot to have staff like that.

Authentic Irish Pub with different live music acts during the day. Even as a tourist you feel welcome and as a local. A much nicer vibe than the pubs in temple bar

Bar
Mulligan's, an 18th-century pub located on Poolbeg Street near Trinity College in Dublin, is a no-nonsense establishment with a loyal clientele and a lack of pretentiousness. With a history dating back to 1854 and hosting esteemed guests like John F. Kennedy and James Joyce, it's steeped in tradition. The pub is renowned for serving the best pint of Guinness in Dublin and is also famous for its delicious Dublin stew.
Friendly service and friendly customers at the bar. Not crowded at 16:50 on a Tuesday in May. Lovely pint of Guinness. Never had one poured so slowly in the UK. I’ve learnt something new!!
G K — Google review
"We don't serve food, as we find it gets in the way of people's drinking," quoted from the bar tender. This is one of the few places for a proper glass of Guinness. Good Irish bar. Not for kids.
Bob A — Google review
Best Guinness pint I've had all week. Great conversation with local folks and cool bar! Will definitely be back.
Samuel R — Google review
You never go wrong with Mulligan’s. Maybe it`s Dublin’s most iconic pub.that might have changed little since James Joyce based one of his stories there over a century ago. You can feel the 250-year-old history in every corner and it’s still famous all over Ireland for its great Guinness.
Christoph D — Google review
This pub keeps its authentic vibe, even though it’s cozy and always packed. If you’re into literature, fun fact: it’s even mentioned in James Joyce’s work. They’re also known for serving one of the best pints of Guinness in Ireland—grab one and see for yourself!
Alexander D — Google review
Mulligans is a must for anyone looking for a real Irish Pub in Dublin city centre. The Guinness taps here get more physical contact than Donald Trumps mobile phone!! One of the best, if not the best pint of Guinness in Dublin City!! Service always on point, place is always hopping, no mater the time of day!! A must stop spot for anybody looking to experience real Dublin
James D — Google review
My first time visiting Mulligan's but not my last. This is a fascinating pub with a fantastic history it was a little quiet at the time I was there. The Guinness was very good unfortunately it had a slight after taste probably caused from detergent on the glass. Guinness 4.5 out of 5.

Pub
John Kavanagh The Gravediggers is a historic pub in Glasnevin, Dublin, dating back to 1833. It is known for serving home-cooked meals and traditional Irish stew called Coddle. Despite its unassuming appearance, the stew is considered comfort food by locals and is a must-try when visiting the pub. The establishment's name comes from its proximity to a cemetery and it has been visited by renowned personalities like Anthony Bourdain.
First off, the service is absolutely top class both in the bar and in the restaurant. The Guinness is outstanding. The ambience is that of a genuine old school Irish pub with no contrivances. The clientele seemed to be a mix of locals, tourists dropping in for one, and wayfarers like myself. Definitely looking forward to returning. The food wasn't bad. The coddle was very salty but that suited me perfectly. It had cocktail sausages and proper bacon ribs, and came with plenty of bread. The soup wasn't the worst I ever had. *** Returned with friends on a Friday lunch and stayed for dinner. Between us we had the coddle, meatballs, manchego and almonds, seafood chowder, and beef and Guinness stew. I reckon that the stew has to be the best thing on the menu - such tender, quality, tasty beef. The chowder is fantastic too, fresh! 😋 The place is full all day here on a Friday but with a great atmosphere and quality service all round
Gerard C — Google review
Visiting Dublin for a concert and recommended the Gravediggers by my Dad who visited years ago. Unbelievable, friendly service. Great Guinness and I think the dearest item on the menu was about €12. Irish Beef Guinness stew was amazing. Great atmosphere as a locals pub with a few tourists here and there. Way better than the places in the city centre.
Jamie R — Google review
We visited on a Friday and noticed the menu was tapas-style — something I’m usually not a huge fan of. But then I realised… it was Irish tapas! Small plates of Guinness stew, Ciarán’s Coddle, cabbage and ham, and more. My absolute favourite was the cabbage and ham, creatively served like a spring roll — a proper Irish spring roll! It was incredible. We brought a friend along, and this format was perfect for sampling a variety of traditional Irish dishes in one sitting. The pints were spot on too! We’ll definitely be back — what a gem. They accept card payments, and while they don’t take many reservations, just grab a pint at the bar next door while you wait. Totally worth it.
J P — Google review
I’ve been meaning to get here for years, the Guinness is legendary. So to say expectations were high, is an understatement. Vibe in the bar is really relaxed - mind you this was a Wednesday. Seats were hard to come by, it’s not a huge pub so be prepared to have your drinks outside. As for the Guinness.. it’s good, it’s very good. Best pint I’ve ever had? No… but it’s on my top list going forward - I’ll need to go back before it can claim the top spot for me. Will be back for sure to check out the graveyard and quench my never ending thirst for Guinness
Mark ( — Google review
Came here due to its reputation as having THE best pint of Guinness. It didn't disappoint. Great Guinness, great atmosphere, and the staff were brilliant. Welcoming, friendly, and full of banter. Customers were a mixture of staff, locals, and tourists. Made for an interesting dynamic, and it's what made the experience more worthwhile. I only popped in, thinking I'd have one or two pints and head out. Let's just say I had considerably more before heading out the door. And this was on a Monday morning! Love this place. Only sorry I went in on a day they don't serve food, so I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Dublin.
COLD — Google review
Quaint neighborhood pub to enjoy delicious food, cold beer, and various other indulgences. Friendly staff, and welcoming/warm feel. If you're like me and need a variety, you'll fancy the Tapas style menu. Give it a go, you'll be glad you did!

This bar is a must for Dublin. Very old school traditional Irish pub and you feel like you have gone back in time. The Guinness is the best I have ever had in Ireland and the food while different is very good. The service was friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend.

Still the best pint of Guinness around. My only problem is it is so popular it is hard to get a spot to sit. So go early or during the week if you want a quiet pint.

Deceptive from the outside, looks like a normal Irish pub, but inside also has a large open space, kinda ball room meets square dance area. Upstairs is a beer garden and the live music venue. Small, intimate, great for live bands, bit like the 100 Club in London.

Great gig with the Skallis, with Del Bionic, at the Grand Social. Lovely to come up with friends to enjoy Irish Ballads, Ska and Reggae. It’s amazing! From 6 pm to 8 pm each 15 days.

Nice pub, good music, the staff is amazing, very friendly crew. Nice cocktails and lovely creamy Guinness, nice spot for enjoy.
Victor C — Google review
The worst bar I have attended in Dublin. The manager, a rude men with not a good personal hygiene was pointing a lantern into people’s faces, every time he walked by the dance floor. There was enough light (if you knew the place you’ll understand), but he was aiming into people’s eyes and when we complain he said “I am the manager I can get you kicked out”, even though, nothing happened and we were at a private party in one of the big rooms, not the bar itself. Then, he said there were no more cocktails due to “too much order”, when actually 1 bartender was flirting with someone and not paying any attention and the other was just ignoring us. Finally,we order but guess what? After midnight prices rise. That is correct. For 2 gintonic we paid 27€, after the bartender said the bill would be 15€. Is not about the money it’s the scam. So, no. THE WORSE BAR IN THE ISLAND PROBABLY. He runs the places as he runs his personal hygiene and manners. Like he does not care.
Tamara C — Google review
First impressions were not great if im honest but it was perfect for the show we seen. Definitely would go again.

I went to the Cruchan gig here. A nice bar. They do a good pint of Guinness! There is smoking areas as well. Upstairs there is lots of space for a gig. It's good that you can move around. There is an outside area too. They also have a good range of drink at the bar!
