1St Stephen's Green

Mentioned on
+19 other lists
St. Stephen's Green is a Victorian public park in the heart of Dublin, reminiscent of Central Park. It features tree-lined pathways, beautiful flowerbeds, and a playground for children to enjoy. Initially exclusive to wealthy residents living in Georgian homes nearby, the park was later opened to the public thanks to A.E. Guinness (Lord Ardilaun) in the 1870s.

Garden
Nature & Parks
Nestled in the heart of Dublin, Iveagh Gardens is often referred to as the city's hidden gem or "secret garden." Originally designed in 1865 and beautifully restored since 1995, this enchanting space offers a serene escape from urban life. Once known as Coburg Gardens, it was revitalized by Sir Benjamin Guinness and later gifted to the Irish nation.
A nice garden that gives you a bit of peace from the city. It is quite large and contains a waterfall, two fountains, a yew maze, a rose garden, archery grounds, and some statues. There are toilets in the gardens. The gardens are mainly wheelchair accessible. There is access through the Clonmel Street and Hatch Street entrances, but not through the Concert Hall Gate entrance. There are hard surface paths around the gardens.

Iveagh Gardens is a true hidden gem in the heart of Dublin. Tucked away just behind Harcourt Street and a short stroll from St. Stephen’s Green, it’s easy to miss—but once you find it, you’ll be glad you did. The park is beautifully designed, combining formal landscaping with a natural, relaxed feel. Highlights include elegant fountains, a small waterfall, a charming grotto, and wide open green spaces perfect for picnics or reading a book. What really sets it apart is the peaceful atmosphere. Unlike other city parks, it’s rarely crowded, even on sunny days. It feels like a secret escape right in the middle of the city, offering quiet pathways, shady spots under mature trees, and beautifully maintained flower beds. It’s a great place to unwind, have a thoughtful walk, or just enjoy a bit of nature without leaving the city center. Occasionally, it hosts events like Taste of Dublin or small concerts, but outside of those times, it remains calm and serene. Whether you're a local or a tourist, it’s well worth taking the time to find the entrance and explore this tranquil oasis.
Karthika N — Google review
It’s pretty, but the fountains/waterfalls weren’t running. Since we were already near St. Stephen’s Green, we checked it out. But I wouldn’t go out of your way to get here because it seems from the other reviews that it’s hit or miss when they turn on the fountains.
Yoseline R — Google review
Worth the trip here. Everyone goes to St. Stephen’s Green but these gardens are close by and less crowded. Highly recommend taking the time to visit.
Margaret H — Google review
The place is ok. Peaceful, tranquil but a little underwhelming. You should still check it out if you have never been there. Might be a good escape from the hustle of city life.
Kay J — Google review
Amazingly kept greenspace with awesome water features. This park really makes you feel like you've escaped from the city!
Eston S — Google review
Small, hidden park with a waterfall. You can easily relax and have a picknick here
Brigita B — Google review
A very charming smaller park with lot of character including a water falls and multiple statutes. Definately worth a visit

Gardens
The National Botanic Gardens in Dublin is a sprawling expanse featuring naturalistic areas, formal gardens, an arboretum, and a Victorian palm house. It serves as both a research and conservation center as well as a recreational park, drawing over 500,000 visitors annually. Families can explore the 50-acre space with its diverse plant species, rose and rock gardens, pond and river walks, organic fruit and vegetable gardens, and Ireland's only indoor rainforest.
Absolutely Stunning place. Free entry. The gardens and the palm houses were just amazing. All kept so well. The restaurant was great too. Highly recommend the sausage roll. Yum! And the carrot cake was very tasty too.
Fiona F — Google review
Beautiful gardens with several walks within and multiple large glasshouses also. A large selection of all kinds of plants, flowers and trees, many not native to Ireland. Good selection of wild birds and squirrels visible too. Gorgeous rose garden too. Free admission and car parking available also. Located adjacent too Glasnevin Cemetery with a gate between them, so both can be visited in one day.
Colm C — Google review
Beautiful gardens to visit with plenty of colour still in mid October thanks to the variety of planting schemes. Peaceful and a lovely tranquil atmosphere for those looking to be ecscape to some green space for an hour or two. Glass houses are very like those in Kew Gardens - cosy and full of plants to enjoy !
Bernard F — Google review
These gardens are just beautiful. Very well maintained, (huge!) and we had a great time here. The fact that this beautiful place is free is astounding. There are also lots of squirrels in the surrounding area and they come right up and take food out of your hand.
Teresa — Google review
Easily one of the most underrated things I did in Dublin, free entry, and I would’ve paid 10$ and been happy about it, such a well kept park and gardens crazy big trees along with some beautiful greenhouses and so much information given on all the plants and trees and bushes they have to offer. You can order coffee and other little snacks inside, they have clean bathrooms. Such a great experience and we went in the morning with perfect weather and very little people.
Cooper G — Google review
Great place to visit, easily spend a few hours wondering around enjoying how creative nature is, so many interesting plants from around the world. Parking on site but queuing can be required to get in as spaces limited. Also can visit famous cemetery on site where lots of legendary Irish people are buried
Emer — Google review
Very beautiful and well maintained. So many varieties of flowers and plants. The glass houses in itself is a thing of beauty. The walk through Glasnevin cemetery leading up to the botanical garden is equally beautiful. The best thing is both are free to visit. Will definitely visit again.
Noel V — Google review
I live in Dublin and visit the Botanic Gardens all year round. Every season has something new to see. The flowers and plants change constantly, the glasshouses are gorgeous, and the whole place is so well looked after. Perfect for a peaceful walk. Never gets old

Phoenix Park is a sprawling urban park in Dublin, Ireland. It is one of the largest enclosed recreational spaces within any European capital city. The park features beautiful landscapes, gardens, and historical monuments. Visitors can enjoy activities such as walking, cycling, picnicking, and even visiting the Dublin Zoo located within the park. With its serene atmosphere and diverse attractions, Phoenix Park offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
A lovely park for strolling, biking, sitting, and running. It had a beautiful garden, walking path, visitor centre and more. Grab a bike or your favourite walking shoes. Highly recommend!
Abby Y — Google review
Absolutely loved visiting Phoenix Park! It’s incredibly spacious and peaceful — perfect for a walk, picnic. I was amazed by how clean and green everything was, even though it’s right in the city. There are plenty of trails, open fields, and beautiful views. A must-visit if you’re in Dublin and want a break from the busy streets.
Sonika Y — Google review
My most favorite place in Dublin. A very huge park with old trees and beautiful greens. Lots of great spots and of-course the deers. A well connected and accessible place to disconnect from the city and enjoy some peace and nature.
Noel V — Google review
Such a beautiful park, spare a few hours to enjoy it. Make sure you have tea and lovely fresh scones at the end of your walk. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Emine D — Google review
One of the finest parks I’ve ever visited. Spotting the fallow deer was an unforgettable highlight. We enjoyed a pleasant walk, followed by coffee and cake at the café—a perfect way to savor the joy of strolling amidst nature.
Dill V — Google review
Beautiful park with loads of paths to walk. Perfect for dogs, but sadly most dog owners don't have their dogs on a leash. And lots of uncollected dog poo around. But to see the deer up so close was amazing.
V D — Google review
Truly a dreamlike park. Even when you feel tired, if the weather is pleasant, an indescribable desire to walk awakens within you, and you find yourself wandering its paths for hours. I wasn’t lucky enough to come across the deer, but the birds create such a melody that you feel as if you’ve stepped into a fairy tale. Sunlight filtering through the trees, spotless paths, a refreshing atmosphere… all of it together makes this place feel like an oasis hidden in the heart of the city. For anyone wishing to connect with nature, breathe deeply, and feel time slow down, it is an unforgettable stop.

Nestled at the base of the Dublin Mountains, Marlay Park in Rathfarnham is a vibrant 300-acre oasis that offers an array of activities for everyone. This modern park, which opened its doors in 1975, has quickly become a beloved spot among locals. It serves as both a starting point for the renowned Wicklow Way trail and a hub for various sports facilities including tennis courts, soccer pitches, and even a golf course.
Beautiful park, with an aviary that has soo many bird species, can spend an hour watching them. Also they have lovely cafes and a public toilet! Plus food stalls on the weekend.
Andy K — Google review
A very large public park with ample car parking dotted around the perimeter. A couple of small coffee shops around the park. A small Avery inside the walled garden.
Brian C — Google review
A beautiful escape into nature right in Dublin! Marlay Park is the perfect spot for a peaceful walk surrounded by trees, streams, and open green spaces. The trails are well-marked and take you through woodlands, meadows, and lovely scenic paths that change beautifully with the seasons. You can easily spend hours wandering and still find new corners to explore. It’s also the starting point for the Wicklow Way, which makes it ideal for anyone who loves hiking. The air feels fresh, the park is spotless, and there’s a real sense of calm here. A must-visit for nature lovers! 🌲🍃🌤️
Prerak N — Google review
Was there for Noah Kahan recently and Green Day last summer. Great venue for gigs. I do think more veggie/vegan food should be available given how many food trucks and how many people are there. The staff are fantastic and friendly in terms of accessibility. Although the accessible platform itself should be more towards the centre rather than completely to one side Overall, good venue, good atmosphere and incredibly well organised
AJ N — Google review
After the Marlay Parkrun we walked through the park and took in the sights and the new food stalls… plenty to do for children and spend the day… I popped into the Cafe (Bean on the Green) and had a wonderful Tea and Pain au Chocolate whilst my wife and friends did the Parkrun
Stuart B — Google review
Beautiful park that is accessible to Dublin City Centre if you’re willing to take a bus ride, it’s a trail head on the Wicklow Way (and a hike up to the Fairy Castle).
William H — Google review
Park would be beautiful, but half of the walkway has been barred and gated for some event making it horrible to go through. Waste of time really. At least advise people they won't be able to walk around freely
Matteo F — Google review
Beautiful park with food market on Saturdays and Sundays in summer. The playground is very nice with toilets adjacent to it. There are also toilets near the food market. There are two car parks, one near the food market and another on the opposite side near the playground. There is a permanent cafe and courtyard with some birds and flowers. The park also hosts concerts during summer when the parts of the parks are not accessible and the food market remains closed.

Nature & Parks
St. Anne's Park, located between Dublin and Howth, offers a unique blend of natural beauty and carefully landscaped features. Once the private property of the Guinness family, this expansive park now welcomes visitors to explore its woodlands, hidden trails, and various landmarks such as the Clocktower, Fairy Door Tree, Annie Lee Tower Bridge, and Temple of Isis. The park's lush greenery provides an ideal backdrop for autumn photography as the leaves change color.
This park is honestly one of the best I’ve been to! It’s really spacious—perfect for families but fun for anyone. The rose garden is my favourite part; the smell is just amazing. You can also follow a path to get to a beautiful pond with ducks swimming around, and then you can wander through the trees nearby where we saw some squirrels playing. It’s such a nice spot to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
Patrycja — Google review
Decided to skip my usual route this morning and walk the dog here instead. The park’s massive, peaceful, and full of lovely paths shaded by trees. Great start for a Friday. Fresh air, birds singing, and the dog absolutely loving life. Can’t beat it.
Jack H — Google review
Gorgeous park, one of the best in Dublin. There is something to do for everyone: playgrounds, a farm, fairy doors trees, a rose garden ... There is a farmer's market on saturday with many food stalls with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. There are bathrooms avalaible near the red stables. I would highly recommend this park to everyone.
Isabel R — Google review
Located in Raheney.. best park to experience forest, beautiful flower gardens as well as beautiful walking trail. Dog friendly… near by the beach for more excitement.. entry free… just loved it…
Prajakta T — Google review
A serene park featuring a stunning pond surrounded by beautiful lit trees. Perfect for evening strolls and peaceful moments. A hidden gem for nature lovers and photographers alike. Highly recommend if you're close by. A bit far from the city center.
François B — Google review
Beautiful park with a wonderful history attached to it. Magnificent mature evergreen trees, with the Naniken river flowing through it. Right beside Bull Island on the Coast. Great air quality with Saturday markets, pitches, tennis courts, pitch and putt, stunning rose garden and it was also voted the 5th most beautiful park in the world! Ahead of Central Park, Hyde Park and another Dublin park, Phoenix Park, which is the largest park within a city, in Europe. There is a divine energy in St Anne's Park. A fantastic natural habitat for wildlife. Red Stables Cafe is lovely for lunch too, with a little Art gallery beside it. It is the Lungs of North Dublin. A great park to cycle around. A must visit if you love the great outdoors and plenty of fresh sea air.
Orbit A — Google review
Great, big and safe park, where everyone can enjoy outdoors time. Perfect for families as well ❤️❤️
Aja B — Google review
This is a great place to visit. The park itself is lovely to walk around, the rose garden is great to chill out in, and it's dog-friendly. The food market on a Saturday had plenty to offer and all very tasty. Also, it is just across the road from Bull Island, so if you fancy a walk on the beach, it's right there

Farmers Markets
People's Park is a charming urban oasis in Dublin, opened in 1890 and featuring Victorian architecture and well-maintained gardens. The park offers a variety of attractions including a teahouse, children's play area, and a vibrant Sunday market with global foods and local goods. It's an ideal spot to mingle with locals, relax with friends, or escape the city hustle. On Sundays, the park comes alive with Irish market vendors offering an array of arts, crafts, and organic produce.
This is an amazing park and on Sundays they also have a farmers market. There are many nice people with their amazing dogs 🐕. I visit this market sometimes on Sundays and pet the amazing dogs 🐕. There is also a cafe in this garden/ park.

A beautiful park especially at night and when you have it all to yourself, of course in the day time you can enjoy the flowers, sea views and the weekend market, a super park with stunning surroundings, cheers
Michael G — Google review
The park is nice, the playground is good. But the park closes and doesn’t open until a random time each morning. The park often gets lots of rubbish in it, especially on weekend market days. The fountains probably need more regular cleaning as well. But when the park is good it is very good.

Lovely place to stop off and just relax on a bench. The cafe has a lovely terrace overlooking the gardens with a good few seats available. The fountain is relaxing to just sit at. Really good place for strolls with a baby - it’s not a large place but enough area to walk through or sit on the grass if you have toddlers. The play area is great too - lots of entertainment for kids. Grab a coffee or treat at the cafe and then let the kids play. Area is well kept and some beautiful plants and trees to view. Nestled just south of Phoenix Park, the Irish National War Memorial Gardens stand as a serene tribute to the 49,400 Irish soldiers who lost their lives during World War I. Designed by the renowned architect Sir Edwin Lutyens, these gardens feature a classical layout that is both symmetrical and harmonious. Visitors can stroll through sunken rose gardens at either end and admire the central War Stone flanked by elegant fountains.
The Irish National War Memorial Gardens is truly a hidden gem in Dublin, offering a peaceful and serene retreat from the city’s hustle and bustle. The well-maintained gardens are a delight for nature lovers, with stunning landscapes, vibrant blooms, and perfectly manicured lawns that create a calming atmosphere. The River Liffey flowing nearby adds to the charm, and if you’re lucky, you might spot graceful swans gliding along the water. For those who enjoy outdoor activities, kayaking on the river offers a unique way to soak in the beauty of the surroundings. The memorial itself is a solemn and beautifully designed tribute, blending history with nature in a way that inspires reflection. It’s a perfect place for a leisurely walk, a peaceful afternoon with family, or even some quiet time alone. I highly recommend visiting this gem to anyone looking for tranquility, a touch of history, and the simple joy of being surrounded by nature.

Visited the Irish National War Memorial Gardens — a truly expansive and serene place. It's a vast garden filled with lush greenery, making it perfect for a peaceful walk. There’s a rowing club on-site, and the flowing river adds to the charm. You’ll spot plenty of birds, ducks, and swans along the way. Plan to spend around 2 hours to fully explore and enjoy all the areas.

Pleasant, very, very clean and well maintained. The beautiful canal adds to the atmosphere of this incredible park. Also lots of options as to where to select for relaxation and lots of seating options. You’ll also find mobile toilets near the canal. Highly recommended

Easily my favourite park in Dublin. Beautiful cherry blossoms in spring, and the rose gardens are also fantastic, especially in summer. The monuments honoring Irish troops are magnificent but somber. A great place to come and read a book in the sun.
Conor B — Google review
Gorgeous park hidden in the heart of Kilmainham. This is right beside the River Liffey and is lovely for a walk. We went specifically in mid April to see the beautiful cherry blossoms trees which definitely are up there with the cherry blossoms festival in China but in Ireland. Just so pretty. The gardens will also be so worth a visit in Smear time when all the roses are in bloom in the flower gardens. The fountains amd structures in the memorial part of the park are very impressive and it is very poignant to think of those that gave their lives so that we can be free to enjoy such a lovely place. There is a small car park here, so in summer I would think that parking g will be hard to get. This place would be gorgeous for a summer picnic. Bring a blanket and enjoy!!!

Great place for a walk. During the month of April, visiting this place with all the cherryblossams are always great. They won't last longer. There's a car park which won't be that busy. One of the must places if you love cherry blossom.

Very nice park beside the river Liffey, beautiful Rose gardens and architecture monuments. Pretty in spring with teh cherry trees in blossom. Amazing in summer with the roses scents. You can walk all the way to Chapelizod. You can see the rowing teams practicing on the river. It has some parking, but no coffee or ice-cream stands.

Perfect for walking, relaxing, or having a picnic, it really feels like a hidden gem in Dublin. The only drawback is that the public toilets close after 5 pm, which can be inconvenient.

St. Patrick’s Park, nestled near the towering St. Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin, is a serene green space perfect for relaxation and leisurely strolls. Visitors can start their exploration with a coffee from the nearby Tram Cafe before enjoying a picnic on the lush lawn or taking a leisurely walk along the pathways offering picturesque views of the cathedral. The park features the Literary Parade, paying homage to renowned Irish poets and writers, as well as the Liberty Bell Sculpture representing the Liberties neighborhood.
Fabulous meeting place in the heart of the city. Stunning gardens and an ideal place to chill out and relax. There didn’t seem to be any restrictions with alcohol in the park as many were sharing food and drinks in their groups. The church is stunning and creates a wonderful atmosphere…. Unfortunately it was closed when we arrived so no chance of seeing inside. But I believe you can book tickets online.

We had a guided tour and this park was our meeting place. It was beautiful and neatly kept. Lots of families and dogs. Cool fountain in the middle. Located next to St Patrick’s cathedral. Nice potential for cool photos. On a couple of homeless guys so it felt safe. We were there at the end of October and the grass was still amazing!

This is a beautiful park just inside. The gate is a place where Saint Patrick did his first baptizing of his conference. There’s a café on the opposite end where you can get a nice sandwich and drink. Stunning views of the cathedral from here.
Dr. B — Google review
A serene slice of Dublin history with cathedral views and joyful vibes St Patrick’s Park is an absolute gem tucked beside the majestic St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Not only does it offer postcard-perfect views of Ireland’s largest church, but it’s steeped in meaningful history. The park was generously gifted to the city by the Guinness family in the early 20th century—a philanthropic gesture that transformed what was once a neglected area into a peaceful haven for locals and visitors alike. The grounds are beautifully maintained, with lush lawns, vibrant flowerbeds, and elegant fountains that add a touch of grace to every corner. There are plenty of spots to relax, read, or enjoy a picnic, and the little outdoor café is a delightful bonus—perfect for a coffee and a moment of reflection. We visited on a sunny day, and the atmosphere was pure joy: children laughing, couples strolling, and friends soaking up the sunshine. It felt like the heart of Dublin was smiling. If you're looking for a tranquil spot with rich heritage and a view that stirs the soul, St Patrick’s Park is a must.

Had a spare hour before work this morning, so I nipped over to St. Patrick’s Park for a stroll. I’m glad I did. Sun was out, the cathedral looked mighty, and the place had a lovely calm buzz about it. Grass looking grand, flowers out, and plenty of space to sit and take it all in. Perfect wee breather in the middle of the city. If you’re nearby, grab a coffee and wander in — lovely way to start the day.

Merrion Square Park is a picturesque public space in Dublin, known for its lush greenery and vibrant floral and heather gardens. The park features a playground and is home to the notable Oscar Wilde statue, making it a must-visit for tourists. Surrounding the park are cobblestone streets lined with charming 18th-century brick townhouses, offering a glimpse into the area's colonial and republican history.
Beautiful in March this year - everything was in bloom and we were lucky to be visiting on a beautifully sunny day. Great place just to take a stroll and relax 💕 Take a moment to visit the Irish Defence Forces Memorial while you're there too

Peaceful park in a beautiful neighborhood. This park was large, clean, and not very crowded on a Saturday morning in the middle of summer, on a gorgeous blue-sky day. Strolling through the park we found a cute little playground with some whimsical artwork/sculptures, like the giant sticking up out of the ground. We found Oscar Wilde's statue and the Jokers Chair. We continued on through the park, taking in the beautifully manicured lawns, watched as some workers set up for an event, and stopped to really appreciate the gardens and large oak trees. I couldn't believe how beautiful the wildflowers were, especially enjoying the hydrangeas that were more than I had ever seen in one place in the wild. Walking through the neighborhood, it felt safe and clean, as we walked from Merrion's square park to Fitzgerald park. We loved the architecture, the vine covered walls of the buildings, and of course all of the brightly painted doors.

A beautiful day, to wander around Merrion Square. Looking up at the beautiful Georgian buildings and the stately trees, and remembering its history. Oscar Wilde, Daniel O’Connell and W.B. Yates all lived there at some time of their lives. Enjoy your walk around Merrion Square. You will see Leinster House. the National Museum among many other famous landmarks. Perhaps you could enjoy an outdoor lunch there too, joining my favourite literati, Oscar Wilde, beside his commemorative statue.

There's plenty of reviews of the park so while you're here, take time to enjoy the beautiful fanlights of the Georgian Houses which face the park. Each one is slightly different and a couple still have the original glass candle lamp 'box'🕯 if you look closely. Enjoy!

It features woodland trails along the Dodder River, as well as amenities such as a children's playground, football pitches, and tennis courts. The park also hosts the Terenure Village Market every Saturday, offering a variety of international culinary delights.
Great park for walks and mini trails...great scenery and a host of great places to visit and walk. Also nice for picnics and small getother at the parks as there's loads of ample spaces and recreational and playground for small kids to keep them entertained. There are also tennis and paddle courts in the park for a small fee.

I was disappointed by the state of the water ponds in Bushy Park. Many of them were covered in a thick green layer, which made them look neglected and possibly contaminated. It took away from the natural beauty of the park, and I felt it wasn’t very well maintained. The park itself is spacious and has lovely areas to walk, but the condition of the ponds really needs urgent attention.

From the capital city to the Wicklow Mountains and even the Irish Sea, visitors can enjoy stunning vistas. The park features family-friendly walking trails and is often referred to as 'Thousand Dog Park.' Additionally, there's a cozy cafe at the base of the hill for those in need of refreshments.
This is without question one of the most scenic parks in all of Dublin. It has multiple viewpoints overlooking dublin bay and offering outstanding views of the Wicklow coastline. Truly a must visit ,and also a dogs dream as there are so many little adventure trails for them to explore.

Really great little park. My daughter loved it. Especially the wooden horse with a cart. There are things to jump on, twirl around or swing on, climb and see saw. The only thing it doesn't have is a restroom.
Elysia C — Google review
“This is the perfect morning,” I whispered to my husband, standing in the forest with our boys, surrounded by tall, moss-covered trees. 🥰 Killiney Hill gave us more than we expected. We had set out looking for nothing more than a walk and a bit of space to move as a family, but the day unfolded slowly and beautifully. Not far from the base of the trail, we spotted a handwritten sign for ice cream and coffee. One of those small, perfect surprises when you're out with kids. We stopped, got a morning ice cream and coffee, sat for a while, and let the day slow down before we’d even begun walking. From there, we made our way toward the tree-lined hill. The path opened gradually, with the light shifting as we climbed. At the top, the views widened all at once: the sea, the sky, the city off in the distance. At the apex stood the obelisk. We sat on the rocks there for a long time, just taking it all in. My older son climbed the pyramid-like structure nearby - confident, happy, determined. The descent took us through what felt like an enchanted forest. Quiet, cool, damp in the best way. Moss covered the trees and low stone walls lined the path. Everything smelled green. We didn’t rush. At the end of the trail, we reached the park. It’s simple, natural, and beautifully done. Our kids had the freedom to explore and play, and we weren’t just watching. We were part of it. Sitting. Laughing. Resetting. 🧡 It’s hard to find places that offer this kind of balance: open air, design that feels considered but not staged, and enough ease for both kids and parents to enjoy it in their own ways. This one did exactly that.
Candace L — Google review
Killiney Hill Park is one of Dublin's hidden treasures, perfect for anyone who wants to trade city noise for fresh air and inspiring views. The park itself is open year-round and offers a great combination of accessible walking trails, winding paths through old woodland, and several scenic lookouts. The main climb to the summit is gentle enough for most people and only takes about 20–30 minutes, but the payoff is immense: at the top, you’ll be greeted by panoramic vistas of the Irish Sea, the Wicklow mountains, and sometimes even Wales on a clear day.One of the best things about Killiney Hill is the peaceful atmosphere. Even when there are other visitors, the area rarely feels overcrowded. Locals come here with their dogs, families enjoy picnics on the grass, and anyone feeling a bit stressed leaves lighter. There’s a small cafe nearby, which makes it easy to grab a coffee or snack before or after your walk. The park is also full of character, with historic landmarks like the obelisk and old stone walls providing little surprises along the way. Photographers will have plenty to capture, from dramatic seascapes to tiny wildflowers.Paths are well marked, making it a safe option for walkers of most abilities, but bear in mind some areas can be muddy or steep after rain. Good shoes recommended!Overall, Killiney Hill Park is a wonderful reminder of how close nature is to Dublin. Whether you want exercise, reflection, or just a beautiful place to wander, you’ll leave feeling refreshed and a bit more connected. Highly recommended for both locals and visitors!

Blessington Street Basin, also known as Dublin's secret garden, is a charming and relatively undiscovered park located just a short walk from O'Connell Street in the trendy suburb of Phibsborough. This 0.75-hectare park features a former reservoir transformed into a picturesque duck pond where visitors can spot swans, Mandarin ducks, moorhens, wood ducks, grey herons, and other surprise avian guests.
Literally a hidden gem...Known as Dublins secret garden, as to be found a up the end of a fairly normal street, once you pass the iron gates there is a lovely tudor style house on the right looking forward there is a massive water basin (which was once a city reservoir until 1885) that takes up 80% of the park, it is nice to walk around, in a peaceful and tranquil enviroment.

Nice park that offers little bit of paradise inside the city center. There's Plenty of benches around the lake to sit and take some time out. Tranquil place to to escape from noise, traffic etc of town. Had a stroll around the Basin and took a few snaps since the sun was shining. The Heron on the railing made my day.

Ana B — Google review
The Blessington Street Basin is known as Dublin's secret garden, as it remains largely undiscovered in the city. Most of the park is water and it also includes an artificial island created as a refuge for animals. Blessington Basin is a real secret garden, only a 15-minute walk from Upper O'Connell St. Go past Parnell Square on Frederick St which becomes Blessington St, where charming Georgian doors and features remain. Cross over Dorset St & Berkeley St to the end. Through the iron gates you’ll be greeted by sweet-scented flowers, mature trees & serene swans on the water. Relax on a bench or stroll along the walkway. The Basin Keeper's cottage, built in 1811, is picture-perfect. Refurbished in 1994, the park is surrounded by high stone walls and lined with plants and seating. At the far end you will find a children's playground, exercise stations, fanciful bronze sculptures, a mixed-use games area and even beehives. Blessington Street Basin is one of the most unusual parks in the city, as 80 percent of the area of the park is water. It was formerly a city reservoir that supplied homes until 1885, then Powers & Jamesons distilleries until the 1970s. An artificial island has been developed in the centre to create a refuge for the ducks and swans that regard the basin as home.

The Garden of Remembrance, located at the top of O'Connell Street in Dublin, is a formal garden dedicated to honoring those who sacrificed their lives for Irish freedom. Designed by Daithi Hanly, the sunken crucifix-shaped garden commemorates various uprisings in Ireland's history, including the Easter Rising of 1916 and the Irish War of Independence. The centerpiece is a cross-shaped pond with a sculpture depicting the Children of Lir, symbolizing rebirth.

A small, but very nice garden of remembrance. It is full of flowers and it is peaceful. There are sculptures, a pond, and lots of benches. The garden is free to enter. It is locked when it is closed. I would advise arriving later than the opening time because it is not always unlocked on time. The garden is in a dip, so there are stairs for access at the main entrance. There is a lift at the far end of the park along the street on the right-hand side.

This was an incredible experience! It was 48 euro for our family of 5. You have to buy tickets ahead of time, so make sure you do that. They want you to arrive about 10 mins early, so you may have to wait to for your tour to start. The tour guide we had was funny, thoughtful and really knew the history of the property. The tickets include tickets to the fairy gardens and the butterfly gardens. Both of those spots were great for the kids. This property is so large that you can easily spend an entire day looking at everything. They have a shop, cafe, gift shop, restaurant, and a large playground for the kids. This is absolutely worth the money, and a really fun stop while in Dublin.

Very old, beautiful castle and grounds. Unfortunately we went too early in the day and they were still closed, but we were still able to walk the beautiful property. Highly recommended visit here if you are around!

Beautiful castle, butterfly garden, walled garden, fairie garden, and I believe a West garden. There was plenty of room on the grounds for two separate sports games going on in two different fields, and the parents, to be in the free parking. Cafe, restaurant, gift shop, also on grounds.Thrre also was ruins of an Abbey with a cemetery surrounding. A free museum, before you get to castle, and with paid admission, another museum under the castle. I believe they have a guided tour every 1/2 a hour.

This was a very pretty castle. We did the castle and gardens tour. Our guide Brendan gave lots of good information about the family and the castle. Get there a little before your tour time so that you can go through the family tree timeline I like that this one has furniture in it so you could get a feel for the life there at the castle.

Beautiful castle. Interesting history. Close to Dublin. I highly recommend it. Our tour guide was great and had a lot of knowledge not only about the inhabitants but about life in Ireland during different time periods in history. I found him interesting and the stories even more lively. The grounds are beautiful but because of the rain, we couldn’t explore as much as we wanted to. I highly recommend the shop and cafe as well.

Wonderful time. Tour was informative and not too long. Guide was wonderful. The walk through the gardens and butterfly house were great. Plan to spend 3 plus hours if you want to walk through the gardens and butterfly house.

The whole area is so well-organised and we spent almost a whole day over there. We paid €17 each (adult) for the entrance ticket, guide tour included. The lady tour guide was fantastic. The castle itself quite small but very well curated, totally worth a visit! We spent time afterword at the shop and the cafe.

We took the Dart from Dublin to Malahide. It’s about a 15 minute flat walk from the station to the castle. We really enjoyed Ian’s tour of the castle. The walled garden and butterfly house were lovely. We walked back to town, took a walk on the shore and enjoyed a light lunch before taking the Dart back.

Nestled just a short distance from Hueston Station and the expansive Phoenix Park, the Royal Hospital Kilmainham is a stunning 17th-century structure that once served as a retirement home for soldiers. Today, it houses the Irish Museum of Modern Art, showcasing contemporary works against its historic backdrop. The grounds are equally captivating, featuring beautifully manicured French-style gardens and vast parkland that hosts popular events like the Forbidden Fruit Festival and WellFest.
We came to visit the modern art museum and found the free walking tour by accident looking for the entrance. We were met by Bill who explained the tour and we decided to set time aside for this. We were so pleased we did as this was the highlight of this visit. Bill was the perfect guide. Knowledgeable, flexible, empathetic and simply interesting. We saw parts of the building not in the public domain and found out the history of the beautiful gardens with some excellent asides on the relationship of this building to aspects of the ongoing conflicts between the Irish and the English and the religious contexts and the social history. The art museum wasn't as good an experience, so a positive decision to stop!

What a hidden gem! So much information about the hospital and history. The grounds are wonderful and so well manicured. Loved seeing the bell that was made too big for the clock tower. Art gallery was not our cup of tea, but the museum about the hospital was so worth the visit

Marlay Park Playground is a large and diverse play area located in the western corner of Marlay Park in South Dublin. It offers a variety of play equipment suitable for different age groups, from toddlers to older children. The playground is well-equipped with baby swings, spring-loaded sitting rides, sandpits, swings, and steep slides. However, due to its size, it can be challenging for adults to keep an eye on multiple children at once.
Good playground, maybe the best in Dublin. Often very busy, often the toilets aren’t working which is not great for kids, but the actual playground is great. Great for slightly older kids with the climbing frame and zip line, great for the younger kids with the sandpit etc. plus Marley Park is right there, which is a wonderful park. Would recommend, just maybe try avoid the busiest times like lunchtime on Saturday.

It is really nice, some areas need to be renovated but overall is good. There are WCs in the park so it is convenient for emergency breaks, nice wood tables so you can bring your flusk and enjoy your tea or coffee while kids at play. I saw only one handicap accessible toy(kind of swing)

Families can enjoy the peaceful surroundings with benches for relaxation and lush greenery along the paths. The park also has amenities such as ice cream trucks in the summer and paid road parking on weekdays with complimentary parking on Sundays.
A fantastic park in south Dublin!!! Speaking from experience, because I’ve been to all of them by now, and Cabinteely was a pleasant surprise! It’s hands down the best park in south Dublin for me, very clean, with different routes, perfect for relaxing walk 🚶🚶‍♀️ You can take the forest walk, you can go around the pond, you can go across the field and enjoy a cute little bridge over the stream, and the playground is perfectly kept and so entertaining for kids of all ages. Plus, there’s a clean and nice WC there, which is a bliss 😅 We’re blessed to live nearby, for me it’s definitely the best city park in the south of Dublin. Not crowded, clean and quiet, quite big, and so much needed for weekly mental health maintenance 😌

Cabinteely House and the park are so beautiful! It's a peaceful place to walk, relax, and enjoy nature. The best part? Mini duckies near the water—so cute and calming to watch! The greenery around is lovely, and it’s perfect for spending some quiet time or even a fun day out with family. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in Dublin!

This is a fantastic park overall that caters to casual walks, joggers, families and dog owners. Having a large dog park and plenty of open greens ideal for dogs and ball sports. The playground is absolutely fantastic boasting some great features for kids. Parking is almost always available no matter what day of the week also. One thing to note is during the winter months they have excellent lighting along some of the main walkways making night walks easier.

Cabinteely Park should be renamed to ‘Cabinteely Lead-Free Dog Park’ as it is essentially a lead-free dog park where stupid dog owners let their ‘cute’ dogs roam freely. DLR does not enforce any of the warnings or fines posted all over the park. Having notified DLR about this issue, received a lame response. I have NEVER seen any person fined for flagrantly violating the posted rules. Why waste money on signage and why create rules that DLR does not intend to enforce? Shame, as it is a nice park that everyone cannot enjoy freely. Here are pictures of a dog owner walking her German Shepherds without leads. She is there every morning from 6 am to 6:30 am and has no consideration for others who have to stop and wait for her to make her way. Thank you DLR for your laxity in not enforcing rules.

I have a huge lot of memories. since I lived near the father collins park for 1 and a half year. Father Collins Park is a real gem on the north side of Dublin. As Ireland’s first wholly sustainable park, it offers a unique blend of modern design, eco-conscious features, and wide open green space — perfect for both families and individuals looking for a bit of peace, play, or fitness. The park is beautifully maintained, with spacious paths ideal for walking, running, or cycling. One of its standout features is the five large wind turbines that not only power the park’s lighting and fountains, but also add a striking, futuristic element to the skyline. There’s something for everyone here: multiple playgrounds for kids, a skate park, outdoor gym equipment, scenic ponds, and even a dedicated area for football and basketball. The long circular route is great for jogging or leisurely strolls, and benches throughout the park offer plenty of spots to relax and take in the surroundings. On a sunny day, it’s lively but never too crowded. There’s a strong sense of community, with people of all ages enjoying the space. It’s also easily accessible by public transport and has nearby parking for those driving. Overall, Father Collins Park is a shining example of modern urban green space — clean, safe, and thoughtfully designed. A must-visit if you’re in the area.
Muhammad F — Google review
This park is a gem, featuring a running track and a kids play area that is sure to delight the little ones. It is well-maintained, and a testament to the effort that goes into ensuring it is always in top shape for visitors. While there were some minor issues with broken bins and a windmill that was not functioning during my visit, these did not detract from the overall enjoyment of the park, which remains a lovely place to spend time
Neil G — Google review

Ramon L — Google review
A lovely park for walks, runs, and a great spot for kids to play. It features a couple of football and rugby fields, making it ideal for sports enthusiasts. The only downside is that sometimes people let their dogs off-leash, which could pose a risk to small children. That said, there have been no known incidents in recent times. A designated, secure area for dogs within the park would be a welcome addition. With its open space and community-friendly layout, the park also has great potential as a local gathering hub, perfect for events, meetups, or just casual socializing. Overall, it's a great place for the local community.

Bull Island is a good place to go to spend a Sunday afternoon. It is not really an island, it has been formed due to human action by creating a wall and the natural effect of the tides. Sometimes you can find a seal near the coast. The sunsets on Bull Island are spectacular, with the chimneys of its decaying factories visible in the background, reminiscent of a distant industrial Dublin.

Fantastic gardens, the staff/gardeners/caretakers I talked to were lovely people, I could find a place to sit and enjoy. Something that let the place down was foreign nationals allowing their children urinate through the gates into the graveyard, and thought it funny. There are toilets in the main building.. No respect for the park, public or the dead, you can bet it is not allowed in their country of origin. There is some fantastic art around the grounds and lovely buildings, but for me, it's the garden. The campus is home to the national treasure of Ireland, the Book of Kells, which can be fully appreciated with an audio guide. Visitors can also explore the library gallery, famous for being a filming location in Harry Potter movies, and view the oldest harp in Ireland.
Beautiful place to visit! Trinity College is full of history and stunning architecture. It's worth taking the guided tour, it's well worth it. Students currently studying there talk about the university, it's very entertaining and educational. Lara was a really professional guide, 5 stars for her. 😜😘 In addition to the basics, you can also learn about university life.

Trinity College is truly a beautiful and inspiring place. The historic architecture, especially the famous library, is breathtaking and full of character—it feels like stepping back in time. The campus is very well maintained, with plenty of open green spaces to relax or study.
Oshadha A — Google review
Beautiful buildings and the park is well maintained. We had no chance to buy tickets for the Book of Kells Experience on site (it is recommended to buy in advance if anyone is interested in seeing the Library's famous Long Room!), but the buildings were still worth walking around. The gift shop is pretty much like anywhere else, but we saw at least two coffee trucks, so there's something to sip on while you walk. (I can't even imagine what it must be like to see so many tourists wandering around here with the students' eyes — while you're rushing to class, they're just shuffling in front of you to try to make the perfect photo. :D)

Trinity College Dublin is breathtakingly beautiful, like walking through a living piece of history. The grand stone buildings and elegant courtyards create a calm, timeless atmosphere. Its famous Library, with towering wooden shelves, is a must-see for anyone visiting Dublin. Even a casual stroll across the cobbled squares feels special and serene. A place where classic architecture and lush green lawns make every visit memorable.
Ajay S — Google review
It’s very touristy and crowded. The library would have been really cool to see but it’s so busy that it was sold out by the time we got there in the afternoon. It’s nice to walk around the main courtyard area but honestly overhyped as an attraction. If you like history and can get into the library it would definitely be worth checking out though.
Tyler C — Google review
It's one of the world's leading universities. The campus is so vast and beautiful. It's impossible not to dream of studying here. I think the only downside is that anyone can easily get in. Other than that, I loved the library. It has an incredibly charming atmosphere.
Kenya İ — Google review
With its wealth of beautiful Georgian buildings, ample park spaces, and venerable old library, Trinity College is simply gorgeous. We were fortunate to see the campus bathed in sunlight on the Sunday in September that we stopped in for the Book of Kells Experience. Since the wait time before we could go into the library and see the Book of Kells was fairly long, we had the opportunity to walk into the college chapel and hear the choir rehearsing for the morning Eucharist, and then to sit on benches in the sun and enjoy the beauty all around us. Trinity is a must-see place if you're touring Dublin.

Beautiful place to visit! Trinity College is full of history and stunning architecture. The campus is peaceful and perfect for a stroll, and seeing the Book of Kells was a real highlight. A must-see when in Dublin!

Outdoor Activities
Dublin Zoo, the largest zoo in Ireland, offers a diverse range of exhibits including African Plain, Fringes of the Arctic and Asian Forests. Located within Phoenix Park, it is one of the oldest zoos globally dating back to 1831. The zoo is home to a variety of exotic animals such as giraffes, rhinos, gorillas, elephants, penguins and sea lions.
One of my favorite zoo's that I have visited. I went on a monday so it was not too busy. I bought tickets in advance and there was no line to get in. They have a great collection of animals and even some species I had not seen before such as the Chinese Dhole and the Aye-aye. All the enclosures are very natural and spacious. Signing has lots of information and I believe there even is an audio tour. Since I went on a monday there were no scheduled animal talks but there were a few volunteers that walked around and they told us plenty about the animals. There were a few food options but not everything was open. Beware of the many seagulls when you have a meal ;) Something they can improve on was the cleanliness of the toilets. The ones I used were often broken and/or dirty. Overall I had a wonderful day and I will absolutely come back for another visit.
Nikky G — Google review
Great night in at the Wild lights, did not add many photo's as do not want to spoil the experience for anyone else. Highly recommend, great for families with kids of all ages. Loads of food options on site(slightly overpriced IMO) We wanted to see all the displays which required us having to walk through parts we had previously seen earlier. Great experience, all the staff were so friendly and very cheery with only added more positively to our experience!! Highly recommend, and hope anyone reading gets to enjoy this experience!!
James D — Google review
This is a wonderful Zoo with a large variety of animals. Clean, easy to navigate, fun. The dinosaur exhibit was amazing. Lots of fun facts shared everywhere about the animals. Plenty of toilets all over and places to eat. There is a small family farm for the little kids and lots of playground around for the kids to play. Buy tickets in advance to save time and money. Overall a fun place for the kids to visit.
Shruti K — Google review
A fantastic day out for all the family. We visited during the week in term time and it was practically empty which we loved. A HUGE mix of animals to see and some great little cafes. Only downside is the lack of seating near animal enclosures - but plenty in the picnic areas. Relatively flat route. We spent around five hours in total here.
Diddely S — Google review
One of the best zoos I’ve ever visited. The space provided for the animals is second to none, and the staff are consistently friendly and courteous. The talks are engaging, particularly the elephant presentation, and the variety of animals at Dublin Zoo is truly impressive — far better than what I’ve seen in Sydney or London. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend a visit. You won’t be disappointed. Thank you.
T0mmy — Google review
Tickets can be purchased from the zoo... Arrived around 11:30pm and took a tour around 2 hours exploring around the zoo... We were excited to see animals but unfortunately we wouldn't find some animals while some of them are in deep sleep.. Area maintained well and directional signage available to guide visitors
Jobin G — Google review
Great day out. Lovely time of year to visit, not too hot so the animals aren't hiding out of the sun. Alot of food/icecream places are closed but didnt bother us but just note to bring snacks. We ate at the meerkat restaurant at the end. We got to see them setting up for wild lights, looks beautiful
Elaine D — Google review
Brilliant, well worth the visit. We went for a day trip just to see some of the amazing animals they have here and it did not disappoint. It is all to walking and not great weather when we went but we didn’t let it ruin the day. All animals have large enclosures inside and outside and love showing of for attention. Snow leopard brought there meat to the viewing glass to show us. Very large zoo where all animals are happy and have loads of space to explore and a lake in middle that monkey species can climb over too which was impressive. The elephants loved to have a dip in their large pool and play with each other, watching them run was so cute to see. You can buy tickets there but I bought them online and showed my code before going straight in, no wait at all in the morning. The zoo got busy quickly but we still could get around with no issues. It’s situated in a nice area next to phoenix park which was pretty to walk through from the Dublin bus dropping us off 10 mins walk away.

Nestled in the heart of Dublin, Dubh Linn Garden is a hidden gem that beautifully combines history and nature. Originally part of the grounds for Dublin Castle, this serene garden features lush green lawns adorned with unique brickwork patterns reminiscent of sea serpents. Visitors can explore its tranquil pathways while enjoying the picturesque surroundings. At the southern end lies the Coach House Gallery, which hosts an array of temporary exhibitions celebrating art and history throughout the year.
A great place to escape for a quiet break from the city. The gardens and flowers were so beautiful. You can easily spend hours here taking in the views and relaxing on a bench. Great view of the castle from the gardens as well. Entry is free
Cara D — Google review
Beautifully sculpted lawn, surrounding gardens, and structures with Dublin Castle in the background. Lots of winding and hidden areas to explore. There is a good higher vantage point closer to the road with the elevated foot bridge.
Cory S — Google review
Dubh Linn Garden was underwhelming, especially given its central location behind Dublin Castle. It’s small, plain, and feels more like a lawn than a true garden. There are few colorful flower beds or water features — just simple grass with a few paths and sculptures. It might be a quiet place to sit for a minute if you’re already at the castle, but it’s definitely not a destination on its own. Compared to the lush, vibrant gardens you’ll find across the Irish countryside, this one falls flat.
Praneet R — Google review
The garden is a truly special place, filled with vibrant flowers and lush greenery. You can easily get lost in its beauty, wandering through winding paths and admiring the different plants. It's the perfect spot to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and just relax. So beyond beautiful with breathtaking plants. A gorgeous space well worth visiting! It is right behind Dublin Castle and next to the Beatty Museum
Moira D — Google review
The Dubh Linn Garden sits quietly behind Dublin Castle — a green, peaceful oasis right in the heart of the city. The circular patterns in the grass are inspired by Celtic knot designs, a nod to Dublin’s heritage. It’s a great spot to take a break from the bustle, surrounded by bright buildings, bits of modern art, and the backdrop of the old castle walls. Perfect for a short walk, a few photos, or just sitting down to enjoy a bit of calm in the middle of historic Dublin.
EzADivat — Google review
The Dubh Linn Garden is a small, symbolic garden behind Dublin Castle in Ireland. Its main feature is a serpentine, grassy design representing the "Black Pool" (Dubh Linn), the historic tidal pool where the River Poddle met the River Liffey. This site is significant because it's the location of the original Viking settlement from which Dublin gets its name. The garden also has a Gothic-style fountain and serves as a quiet reminder of the city's origins.

An amazing park with good parking, there is loads to see and explore and it has beautiful walks and gardens, the house is well kept and the grounds are stunning, I lved the old ruins scattered around the park but my favourite point was the waterfall, it was superb, I loved it you will too, cheers

Amazing free art exhibitions in this castle built in the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. Fabulously creaky floorboards, original plaster ceilings and commanding views with gun slits to keep the pesky Irish peasants out. I saw a very cool exhibition by Karen Ebbs, Circumambulation, and a permanent international ceramics exhibition, which is mind-blowing. Just don’t let Mr Bean in, lol. The Castle Tea Rooms are just perfect.

Tymon Park is a wonderful place for walking and running. It’s also great for dog walks and perfect for children to enjoy the outdoors. There are nice wooden benches where you can sit, relax, and take in the peaceful surroundings. However, the presence of flies near the lake can be quite annoying, possibly due to poor maintenance of the water. I must say that this park is an absolute gem! From the moment I stepped foot on its lush green grass, I knew I was in for a treat. The track for running and cycling was top-notch, with a smooth surface and plenty of space for everyone to enjoy. But it wasn't just the exercise opportunities that impressed me - the park was also a feast for the eyes. Everywhere I looked, there were beautiful flowers of all shapes and colors. It was like walking through a vibrant, living work of art. And the central fountain area was simply stunning. Not only did it provide a refreshing break, but it was also home to some delightful feathered friends. The swans and ducks added a touch of whimsy and joy to the already beautiful setting. Overall, I would highly recommend this park to anyone looking for a tranquil escape in Dublin. So don't hesitate - make a trip to this park a priority on your next visit.

Nice walk, although the fences around the woods are somewhat misleading. We walked all the way up the hill, never crossed the fence, and somehow ended up in the woods that were separated from the main walk by a high fence. We had to climb over to not go all the way back (and it was raining). But it was somewhat of an adventure for the kids, despite that we couldn’t get out :)

The building of King's Inns is a pretty grand building and an amazing example of Georgian Architecture, the courtyard of the society's building on Henrietta Street is especially worth seeing. The building of King's Inn is located within the grounds of King's Inns Park. The park itself is fairly large, is well kept, and remarkable for having "The Hungry Tree", which is a must for selfie addicts!.

There are a number of interesting stories relating to various statues at Kings Inns and many are not true. For example it is claimed that these three statues are actually props left be a film crew. The three statues in photography were carved in 1872 for the Great Industrial Exhibition on Exhibition Place at Earlsfort Terrace. They've been moved around the city quite a bit over the years and last appeared in what was then Millennium Park (now Barnardo Square) beside the City Hall in the middle of a pond. They represent Irish manufactures in wood, metal and stone.

Play ground was fine but not much in it for the size of the park I was expecting alot better. Plus on exiting a the play ground and going up the steps I seen what at first impression was a squirrel and pointed it out to the child. On second look it hadnt got a bushy tail and wasn't at all bothered by us going up past it. A nice sized rat.

Playground
Malahide Playground, located in the picturesque Malahide Castle, is a fantastic play area that caters to children of all ages. The playground is beautifully maintained and offers a wide range of activities for kids. It's a popular spot, so it can get quite busy during peak hours. Visitors have noted that the park itself is lovely and atmospheric, especially in the evenings when adorned with Christmas lights. However, some have expressed disappointment at its early closure time.
This is the perfect playground for an active toddler. Lots of interesting equipment, including diggers for the sand pit. It’s quite clean and well-maintained. It’s a lovely walk to get here. Pro Tips: - Lots of crows are around, so make sure your snacks are tucked away!
Ashley S — Google review
Definitely worth a visit, was quite quiet until about 11am when it started getting busy. Play equipment all operational and in good working order.
Tyron F — Google review
Malahide Playground is a fantastic spot for kids and families. It’s spacious with a huge variety of play equipment to suit all ages, plus a large sandpit that keeps little ones entertained for ages. The surrounding green areas are perfect for picnics or just relaxing, and there’s a large car park nearby which makes visiting super convenient. A great day out with something for everyone!

Epic! Great playground. Something for everyone!

Tremendous selection of slides, roundabouts, wobbly bridges, climbing frames, zip lines and much more all in good working order. Always happy to visit and a great distraction with lots of green areas and the Avoca shop, cafe and restaurant nearby. Highly recommended for its variety and activities for a variety of ages.

Playground
Sean Moore Park Playground is a fantastic new play area with a wide range of equipment suitable for both younger and older children. The lighthouse climbing frame is a big hit, along with the zip wire, monkey bars, trampoline, swings, musical toys, tunnels and hills. The playground offers great views near the beach and has plenty of seating available. However, it can get quite windy at times due to its beautiful location.
Fab new playground with a wide variety of equipment for younger and older kids. The big hit was the lighthouse climbing frame ...but zip wire, monkey bars, two other slides, trampoline, swings, musical toys, tunnels and hills all mean an hour passes with ease here... and great picnic tables for when the kids get hungry. And it’s near the beach with glimpses of the sea. Will be back.

Amazing playground! Loads of things to play, and just beside Sandymount Beach! I highly recommend for families that are looking to something different to do with kids. One point is: I didn’t found bathroom or facilities near by. But, still a good option!! 🧡
Bruna C — Google review
Beautiful playground. Lots of stuff to do for a kids. Picnic benches as well. A well spent day.
Dainius S — Google review
Amazing new large playground, suitable for all ages. Lots of new stuff I haven't seen in other playgrounds like a rock climbing mount, a trampoline, a double zip line, fab helter skelter slide that looks like a lighthouse. Lots of places to climb on and space to run around. Lots of seating too.
Alison C — Google review
Beautiful playground. You can see the sea. Watch out for wind though! It can be super windy and cold.
Cristina K — Google review
Amazing playing group, lots of stuff to do, kids kept playing, and you can hear them laughing. I'm impresses. Nearby home and safe area.
Mario M — Google review
Amazing playground with safe rides and frames for all ages. Some area covered with the typical soft ground and some are just grass which can get muddy after much rain. The beach is just a stone's thros away and very nice.
Imre — Google review
Brilliant playground, well designed with plenty of fun things for all ages to enjoy, comfortable bicycle parking and plentiful seatings available. Has great views as well, however due to ( beautiful) location it tends to get quite windy and chilly ( at least for the "spectators") and there are no bins at all".

Bushy Park Playground is a fantastic spot for families with kids of all ages. The playground offers plenty of activities for both younger and school-aged children. Surrounding the playground is a beautiful and relaxing area with a decent-sized pond, ducks, birds, and a lovely waterfall that adds to the tranquil atmosphere. Additionally, there are walking paths along the riverbank, stepping stones to explore, and even a basketball court nearby.
Great park for up to 5 years olds.
Ivo B — Google review
Great place, the park is large and so is the playground with lots of space to play even on busy days. Some of the equipment is worn down and needs a refresher.
Robin W — Google review
Great playground. Great for adults too as there are plenty of benches to sit at. Great climbing facilities and nice zip line.

Playground
The Giants Garden in Merrion Square, Dublin is a charming and adventurous playground made mainly of wood. It offers a rustic charm while ensuring cleanliness and safety for children. Tucked away in a secluded part of Marrion Square Park, it provides a quiet escape from the city hustle. The playful giant sculpture adds to the park's appeal, making it an enjoyable place for both kids and adults.
This playground, mainly built of wood, is so adventurous that you would like to be a child again yourself. It seems cleaner here than in my living room and safer than on my monkey bars from the living room to the kitchen. This playground was built by people who think for themselves, children have fun here and adults wish to back in their childhood.
Tilman B — Google review
This playground in the park is quite an interesting place to visit! It’s located inside a park, which is a nice change from the usual outdoor playgrounds. There are plenty of play sets for kids of all ages, from the little ones to the bigger kids. There are also shaded areas for parents and caregivers to relax or have a picnic. It can get crowded over the weekends, but there are still enough places to roam around and enjoy the outdoors.
Foodie T — Google review
A nice little playground for the little ones that is nudged in a secluded part of the Marrion Square Park. The place feels quiet in the hustle of the city. The Giant sticking out of the ground with his two hands as a chair is very cute and will put a smile on your face. You little ones will like this park.
