Bagore Ki Haveli is an ornate 18th-century palace located near Gangaur Ghat on the banks of Lake Pichola in Udaipur. This historic building, constructed between 1751 and 1778, boasts over 100 rooms showcasing traditional costumes, puppets, antique items such as jewelry boxes and copper utensils, as well as modern art. The interior features intricate mirror and glass work that adds to its allure.
An Ancient Historical Monument in Udaipur.. May be visited if have some time to hangout. Puppet Museum inside is the best thing.. Good for having Lake View Photography. Folk Dance Show may also be seen here.. in 2 slots of 7 to 8 and 8 to 9.. 200 seats in each Show.. It's good to book tickets online in advance for any inconveniences...
RAM M — Google review
Very long queue both for tickets and entry. Online option is not easily found on the web. Some of the performances were good but some very average, specially the duet snake dance performers, they were both doing their own thing ,no co-ordination and appeared to be very casual. The group dances were good. Overall seemed a little like a tourist trap
Indrani D — Google review
Bagore ki haveli offers you 2 kinds of experiences, one is the rich history through its museum and the beautiful view and sunset that you can catch from it's jharokhaas and windows. And the other one is ofcourse the dharohar dance show that you cannot miss at any cost. Book the tickets beforehand and buy another ticket for your camera as it's worth it. I went there thrice, and each time it had something new to offer.
Asma — Google review
I visited Bagore ki Haveli museum yesterday and it was brilliant. Previously a guest house and a government office, this is now converted into a cultural center and museum. Entry to the venue is ticketed and foreigner tickets cost INR150 and can be bought at the gates.
Sanka I — Google review
Bagore Ki Haveli, Udaipur is one of the finest places to experience the rich culture and heritage of Rajasthan. Located right on the banks of Lake Pichola near Gangaur Ghat, this 18th-century haveli is beautifully preserved and offers a glimpse into the royal lifestyle of that era. The haveli has over 100 rooms, each showcasing unique artifacts, intricate mirror work, beautiful frescoes, and traditional Rajasthani architecture. Walking through its courtyards and corridors feels like stepping back in time. The collection here includes costumes, jewelry, hand fans, puppets, and everyday royal household items that make the visit both educational and fascinating. One of the highlights is the evening cultural show (Dharohar Dance Show) held in the courtyard. The performances feature traditional Rajasthani folk dances, puppet shows, and music – an absolute must-watch if you want to experience the soul of Rajasthan. The atmosphere in the haveli during the show is magical, especially with the heritage backdrop. The location is superb – right in the old city, surrounded by vibrant lanes full of local shops, cafés, and just a short walk from City Palace and Lake Pichola. The entry ticket is reasonably priced, and the cultural show is also worth every penny. 👉 Tips for visitors: Reach a little early for the cultural show as seats fill up quickly. Carry cash for tickets since card/digital payments might not always be available. If you enjoy photography, you’ll love the architecture, lake views, and interiors here. Overall, Bagore Ki Haveli is not just a museum but a cultural experience – a perfect blend of history, art, and tradition. If you’re in Udaipur, this is a must-visit place to truly understand the heritage of the city.
Kunal B — Google review
On my recent visit to Udaipur on 14th September 2025, we decided to go for the cultural show from 7 to 8 pm. Tickets for the show are available online as well as offline. Online daily limit is 100 and the tickets open 7 days before. We purchased online tickets at Rs 125 for an adult. This is located near Gangaur ghat and the four wheelers do not go to this place. We were dropped around 1 km away and we had to walk to the place. We reached around 6.30 pm and the place was 70% occupied. People reach early as there is first come first serve to get good seats. Seating arrangement is a bit improper as there is no proper back support as well as fans are not located properly for good air. The show started at sharp 7 pm where there were various items like the intro song, Ghoomar dance, dance for snakes, puppet show and a final dance performance. All the shows were good and enjoyable. One thing that should be applied is that once the show starts, people shouldn't be allowed to come which disturbs others a lot. Overall a good experience. Some parts can be improved but all the artists performed really well. There is also a museum but we were not able to explore it. We enjoyed and again a must experience if you are in Udaipur. The host was hosting in both English and Hindi for the Indians as well as foreigners. When we left there was a long queue for the second show. I would recommend to buy tickets in advance else you need to reach early as there are high chances the show would be booked.

Heritage Place must once to visit ...... Locate at "old udaipur city" with very narrow streets, only way to visit place by "Auto" or must took service of "rental vehicle" to visit Entire Udaipur Places. Must book the advance tickets for "Night show" of local traditional folk dance, and must view this show. Folk Dance Show timings in 2 slots of 7 to 8 p.m and 8 to 9 p.m.. 200 seats in each Show.. 8-9 p.m specific introduce looking to the diwali 🎇 🪔. It's good to book tickets online in advance for any inconveniences...

A well maintained haveli. Museum has a nice collection of old and antique items. Entry ticket for museum is 60/- per person. They have a dance show in evening for which buying tickets in advance is good option.

Hindu temple

Jagdish Temple is a significant Hindu temple in Udaipur, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The 16th-century structure showcases intricate carvings depicting ancient Hindu legends. Visitors can witness spiritual ceremonies conducted by Brahmins and devotees inside the temple. While entrance is free, donations are welcomed. Another notable temple in Udaipur is Mahakaleshwar Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and located along the banks of Fateh Sagar Lake.
The Jagdish temple is a marvel - one climbs the steep steps to the initial courtyard and a lovely chap looks after your shoes for no more than 50R I think. We saw Ganesha first and walked round and then entered the Temple were devotees were chanting. The atmosphere was laid back and chill.

Great temple. Wondeful architecture. So much positive vibes in the temple. One of the best places i visited in udaipur. Its in the heart of the old city.
Bharath S — Google review
The temple’s stunning architecture, detailed carvings, and peaceful atmosphere make it a must-visit. As soon as you enter, you can feel the spiritual energy and calmness around. The chants, bells, and devotion of people create a truly soulful experience. It’s located right in the heart of the city, near City Palace, so it’s easy to visit while exploring the area. Whether you go for worship or just to admire the ancient architecture, Jagdish Temple will surely leave you feeling blessed and peaceful.
Mehul B — Google review
One of the most beautiful temples in Rajasthan and very peaceful place of worship. The temple is located close to Udaipur City Palace and in the old town which can be accessed by bikes and tuk-tuks. Entry to the temple is free but you can decide to donate to the temples upkeep at the gate. Shoes aren't allowed inside (even in bags) so you have to leave at the lockers. A must visit place in Udaipur.
Sanka I — Google review
Beautiful and peaceful temple with amazing architecture and a very calm atmosphere. The place feels truly spiritual, but the roads around it are very narrow, only one car can pass at a time, so it’s better to park your car near City Palace or anywhere outside the old city area. The stairs are quite high, so if you have leg or knee pain, it’s better to avoid climbing. Overall, a lovely temple to visit and take blessings.
Kunj P — Google review
Beautiful temple and what a beautiful architecture and carvings. When we will arrived. There are plenty of people are singing a aarti and bhajans there. I love there songs. What a beautiful environment. Just amazing! Must visite this temple.
Ankit B — Google review
Visited during Diwali, and the temple looked absolutely beautiful with all the lights and decorations. The atmosphere was very spiritual and peaceful, filled with chants and festive energy. The architecture is ancient and impressive, with detailed carvings and a grand structure that truly reflects Udaipur’s rich heritage. The lighting during the festival made it even more stunning. A must-visit place in Udaipur for anyone who loves history, culture, and divine vibes.
Raja D — Google review
Absolutely divine experience! Jagdish Temple is one of the most peaceful and spiritually uplifting places in Udaipur. The intricate carvings and stunning architecture show the true glory of Mewar’s heritage. The positive energy here is beyond words — the chants, the fragrance of incense, and the devotion all around make it a soul-soothing experience. Located right in the heart of the old city near City Palace, it’s easy to visit while exploring Udaipur’s main attractions. Early morning or evening aarti is truly mesmerizing — the sound of bells and bhajans fills the entire area with divine vibes. Clean, well-maintained, and managed by friendly priests. A must-visit spot for anyone coming to Udaipur — whether for devotion, culture, or photography. 🌸

The City Palace in Udaipur, Rajasthan is a sprawling complex that houses the palaces of 11 different rulers. It stands tall above Lake Pichola and offers stunning lakeside views. The palace boasts a facade that stretches almost 250 meters in length and rises over 30 meters in height. Visitors can enter through the Baripol Gate or the Tripolia Gate, both dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries.
A Majestic Blend of History, Architecture & Lake Views! Our visit to City Palace, Udaipur was an unforgettable experience! This grand palace perfectly showcases the royal heritage of Mewar and offers a fascinating glimpse into the city’s glorious past. The architecture is stunning - a beautiful mix of Rajasthani and Mughal styles, with intricate carvings, mirrored walls, and colorful murals that reflect the craftsmanship of that era. The museum inside the palace is very well curated, displaying royal artifacts, weapons, paintings, and vintage photographs that bring history to life. From the balconies and terraces, you get breathtaking views of Lake Pichola, Jag Mandir, and the surrounding Aravalli hills - perfect for photography enthusiasts. The entire complex is well maintained and organized. Local guides are available, which add great context to what you see. It’s best to visit early in the morning or late afternoon to avoid the crowd and enjoy the golden light for photos. A small tip: wear comfortable shoes, as there’s quite a bit of walking and a few steep sections. The ticket price is reasonable considering the scale and preservation of the site. Overall, City Palace is a must-visit landmark in Udaipur - a perfect combination of history, art, and scenic beauty that truly lives up to its royal reputation!
Ankit T — Google review
City Palace in Udaipur is the largest palace in Rajasthan and an absolute must-visit for history lovers and travelers alike. The palace showcases stunning Rajput architecture, with intricate courtyards, balconies, and museums that take you back in time. I’d recommend visiting in the morning when it’s less crowded and you can really soak in the beauty of the place. If you’re a student, don’t forget to carry your ID card — you’ll get your entry ticket at half price, which is a big plus! Since the palace is massive, whether you take a guide depends on your preference. If you’re short on time (around 1 hour), a guide will help you cover the main highlights quickly. But if you enjoy exploring at your own pace, I’d suggest skipping the guide and wandering freely — there’s so much to discover. One important tip: avoid parking your car at the City Palace parking lot. They charge around ₹350, which is quite steep. Instead, use the nearby government parking areas around the palace — much more economical. Overall, City Palace is not just a monument, but an experience of Udaipur’s royal heritage. Definitely worth the visit!
Jani P — Google review
We visited the City Palace museum while in Udaipur and it was fabulous. The historic palace facing Lake Pichola and the city on the other is the largest palace is Rajasthan and was home to many rulers. Walking through the palace tour, you get to witness the grand architecture and the luxury the palace had offered to many maharajas who lived here. It is a definite must see if you're in the area. The tour takes a few hours and tickets cost INR450 and is open till late. Highly recommended!
Sanka I — Google review
This is the most beautiful place I've ever visited! The dynamic environment is captivating, and the art on the walls is stunning. Every aspect of the architecture speaks to the rich history of our culture, lifestyle, and heritage. I'm mesmerized by the remnants of our great dynasties and proud to be a part of the soil that bred such brave warriors.
Krishnaveni K — Google review
This is a must see while visiting Udaipur. The palace is really nice to see on the inside. There are plenty of rooms which you can visit and also a museum of artifacts. It takes approximately 1.5 hours to visit this place in full. I would highly recommend you arrive for opening time at 9:00 am as it gets busy very quickly. The entrance fee is 400 Rupees per person which gives access to the palace rooms, museum and courtyards. You should not be charged separately to see the Crystal Rooms as some online articles report separate fees for this. That is a total scam. The fee for entry allows access to all areas of the palace inside. The only small print the website does not tell you is when you exit the palace on the lake side you must pay 50 Rupees to exit and another 800 Rupees to get the boat on lake side. I would not recommend you exit the palace on the lake side as it costs much more and the lake itself is not that great to see. I would advise you enter the palace from two gates but do not exit on lake side. There are toilet facilities on the grounds and minimal shops to buy drinks. Overall the palace is worth it to see for the entry price but again arrive early to get the best photographs and videos. The tickets can be purchased at the counter but they only accept cash at the counter and not cards.
BCL A — Google review
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This palace is absolutely magnificent! The architecture, the detailing, and the royal atmosphere make it one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. Every corner tells a story of Udaipur’s rich history and culture. The views of Lake Pichola from the palace are breathtaking, especially during sunset. The maintenance is excellent, and the staff is very helpful and courteous. I truly loved visiting this place — it’s amazing, elegant, and full of heritage charm. A perfect destination for history lovers, photographers, and anyone who appreciates beauty and peace. I would definitely love to visit again! 💫

This is the must visit place in Udaipur. You need to get tickets at entrance. You can just see the palace from outside or take a ticket for inside tour. Lake Pichhola is just at the back of the palace , so you can straight away walk to the lakeside after seeing palace. Plan to go at the evening as the sunset view is awesome. Boating ticket counter closes at 5pm. Just enjoy here the Royal architecture of palace!!!

The Ahar Museum, situated on the outskirts of Udaipur in Ahar, India, is a small but fascinating museum showcasing sculptures and artifacts dating back to the 10th century. The collection includes ancient earthenware pottery, unique sculptures, a remarkable metal Buddha, and archaeological relics spanning over 3,500 years. Additionally, the museum houses around 20 royal cenotaphs of renowned Mewar maharajas.
This is not in the top 10 POI of Udaipur but it should be. The history is amazing and not the typical narrative of the other museums of the place that displays mostly human killing tools . Do consider a visit. Street side parking is available.
Shuvayu M — Google review
Underrated Historical Treasure with Deep Royal Legacy🩵 Ahar Museum is one of Udaipur's lesser-known but truly fascinating historical spots. Located just a few kilometers from the city center, it houses the cenotaphs (chhatris) of the Maharanas of Mewar along with an archaeological museum that gives a deep insight into Rajasthan's royal and ancient heritage. The museum part has an interesting collection of artifacts dating back to 4000 years — including pottery, sculptures, and tools from the ancient Ahar civilization. It's a walk through time, especially if you’re into archaeology. Udaipur isn’t just about lakes and palaces — Ahar Museum is proof of the city’s ancient depth and royal soul. It deserves way more attention than it gets.
NvN M — Google review
The Ahar archaeological site is a significant Chalcolithic (Copper Age) settlement associated with the Ahar-Banas culture. It is known for its distinctive pottery, copper tools, and evidence of early agricultural practices. The site provides insights into a rural Chalcolithic culture that existed alongside the Indus Valley Civilization.
Shreya J — Google review
Ahar Museum is the place where Ahar people lived. Most of the artifacts from 5000BCE to 2000 BCE. So, it is an old civilization. Some other statue type artifacts are from the 10th century as well. So, if you have an interest in museums, please visit. Tickets price is about 20 rupees for Indians. If you are just leisurely visiting it, would take about 30-45 mins. If you observe and read every detail, it would take around 2-3 hours
Parth P — Google review
The Ahar Museum in Udaipur, India, is known for its collection of ancient artifacts which includes sculptures, historical guns, ancient pottery and many more. It offers insights into the rich history and heritage of the region, including pottery, sculptures, and other archaeological finds. If you're interested in history and culture, it's definitely worth a visit! The museum is well maintained though it needs a bit more attention as some walls are not properly maintained but still it is worth giving a try.

Excavations from this Ahar Mound (also called Dhulkot locally meaning mound of sand) reveals a civilization contemporary to the Indus Valley (3-5k years ago) known as Ahar-Banas Culture (i.e. around Ahar and Banas rivers). This museum documents how the lands around Udaipur were populated thousands of years before Maharana Udai Singh ji, even before the Iron Age! 😯
Arihant J — Google review
Had a wonderful experience in Ahar Museum ! It showcases the iron age bronze age and other ancient ages of human civilization which teaches a lot about how our ancient ancestors or people of Ahar civilization used to live .. tools potteries jewels and many more are displayed there.. as of now the tickets for Indian tourists is @Rs.30 per person...and for foreign tourists it's @Rs.100 per person. ⭐⭐ And also there is a beautiful place just near this museum that you guys can visit just ask the guard about it ... Its ancient ruins of Ahar civilization which have so many shiv temples in an area and i have enclosed some photographs of the place.. wonderful it is ✨⭐⭐✨⭐✨⭐✨⭐✨

Moti Magri, situated on the banks of Fateh Sagar Lake, is a famous hill that commemorates the Rajput hero Maharana Pratap and his loyal horse, Chetak. The highlight of this site is the striking bronze statue of Maharana Pratap and Chetak, built as a tribute to their bravery in the battle of Haldighati. Visitors can capture picturesque views while strolling through the lush green hill and exploring nearby attractions like the Japanese Rock Garden.
A scenic hilltop spot in Udaipur with stunning views of Lake Pichola and the surrounding cityscape. The Chetak Smarak monument adds to its charm. Perfect for sunset views and photography. The monument pays tribute to Maharana Pratap's loyal horse, Chetak. Enjoy the panoramic views and serene atmosphere. A great spot for history enthusiasts and nature lovers.

Wastage of time, money and effort . Unless and untill you are to watch light show or to take zipline ride. Zipline 200/person for total 600 meters round. Maharana Pratap statue is good. You can find peace.

Moti Magri was a quiet and average spot, but the view from the top made it worth the visit. You get a lovely panoramic look at the city and Fateh Sagar Lake—perfect for a peaceful pause. 🌇
A S — Google review
Moti Magri, also known as Pearl Hill, is one of the most serene and culturally rich attractions in Udaipur. Located on a hill overlooking the beautiful Fateh Sagar Lake, it is a place where history, nature, and peace come together. The most striking feature of Moti Magri is the grand statue of Maharana Pratap riding his loyal horse, Chetak. The statue is massive, majestic, and surrounded by several other sculptures that depict the valor and legacy of the Rajput warriors. Walking through the area feels like stepping into a space where history silently speaks through art and stone. The surroundings are equally captivating. The site is filled with lush greenery, tall trees, and well-maintained gardens, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely morning or evening walk. The calmness here gives a refreshing break from the busy city life of Udaipur. Families, couples, and solo visitors often enjoy sitting under the trees or strolling along the pathways, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. From the top, you also get panoramic views of Fateh Sagar Lake and the city, which is especially beautiful during sunset. Except for the ₹60 entry fee, which some may find slightly high for a short visit, everything else about Moti Magri is highly enjoyable. It’s a place where you can connect with history, enjoy nature, and spend some quiet, reflective moments.
Nikhil P — Google review
Our brave Maharana’s beautiful statue and the stunning view from there makes it a must to visit place . You will also get keychains and fridge magnets at reasonable price from the stalls inside. Better to visit early in thw morning to avoid crowd so that you can enjoy better.
Riya — Google review
Moti Magri is one of those places in Udaipur that feels timeless. The statue of Maharana Pratap is, of course, the highlight, but what really makes this spot special are the little hidden corners and viewpoints you discover as you walk around. From some of these spots, the view of Fateh Sagar Lake looks absolutely heavenly especially around sunset when the water glows golden. The place has a peaceful charm to it, with well-maintained gardens, old stone pathways, and that quiet vibe that makes you want to just sit and soak in the history and beauty. Spend 25 mins at Maharana Pratap Smarak and also have a good view of the Fateh sagar lake close by. They have a small museum as well which also gives you a miniature of the various forts in the closeby area of Udaipur. Must visit when you travel to this historic city.

One of the best place at Fateh Sagar Lake. It’s the place which shows a glory of our warriors. There is a museum providing information about Maharana Pratap’s life, photographs of the Maharana and other warriors life about more than 500 years ago. It’s a good place with proper parking space and a big garden with sun set point. There is a very big area at height with Chetak Smarak and place for a fantastic view of sun set and Fateh Sagar lake. It’s the place for Maharana Pratap Museum and Maharana Pratap Smarak.

The Vintage & Classic Car Collection, located in The Palace, Udaipur, is a must-visit for car enthusiasts and first-time visitors to the City of Lakes. Housed in the former Mewar State Motor Garage, this museum showcases an impressive array of vintage vehicles, including luxurious cars like the 1934 Rolls-Royce Phantom II that was converted into a pick-up truck for royal hunts.
Had the best experience in Udaipur! They’ve got an amazing lineup of cars, real treasures being preserved here. The staff is super friendly, full of knowledge, and love sharing all the cool details. If you’re a car lover, this is going to be the highlight of your trip!! Every car has a fun story behind it. Honestly, such a chill and must-visit spot.

The Vintage and Classic Car Museum in Udaipur offers a captivating glimpse into the royal garage of the Mewar dynasty. From elegant Rolls-Royces and Cadillacs to rugged Buicks and Austins, each car is a living relic of Rajasthan’s regal past. A highlight is the 1934 Rolls-Royce Phantom, once used for royal hunts, and a solar-powered car, reflecting the dynasty’s blend of tradition and innovation. These vehicles are more than just collector’s items—they’re stories on wheels. Set within the charming Garden Hotel complex, the museum is well-maintained and informative. Whether you're a car enthusiast or a history lover, this stop is a perfect fusion of heritage and horsepower.

🚗✨ Vintage Car Museum Udaipur Review ✨🚗 If you’re in Udaipur, Rajasthan, the Vintage & Classic Car Museum is definitely a cool spot to check out. The vibe is aesthetic and insta-worthy, with around 30–40 antique vintage cars in pretty good condition. Each vehicle gives you a throwback to royal heritage, but sadly the museum has very minimal details or history info on the cars — so if you’re a hardcore auto-nerd, you might crave more depth. 📸 Good news — photography is allowed, so you can click endless reels & pics for the gram. The ambience and cleanliness of the place is on point, giving it a premium feel. They also offer lunch/dinner options + parking for cars & bikes, which is convenient but honestly the food is expensive. 💸 The real downer? The ticket price is ₹330 per adult, which feels overpriced compared to the experience. If you’re into heritage vibes and want a quick royal throwback, it’s worth a one-time visit, but don’t expect it to be super detailed or budget-friendly. 🌟 Overall: Good vibes, clean place, iconic vintage cars, but ticket + food cost feels high.
Mr. C — Google review
Disappointing collection of just 10-15 old cars nothing truly standout or vintage worthy. The inside bar & restaurant is a highlight, offering decent vibes. Ticket prices sting at Rs 330/adult, Rs 200/child; feels like a total waste for the meh display. Skip unless you’re desperate for a quick, overpriced peek at vintage relics. Not value for money better options in Udaipur abound. Highly placed but not that cool experience.
Bijay S — Google review

Sajjangarh Monsoon Palace, also known as Monsoon Mahal, is a stunning white marble palace perched on a high hill in Udaipur. Built by Maharana Sajjan Singh of the Mewar Dynasty, this palace offers breathtaking panoramic views of Fatehsagar Lake and the surrounding countryside.
I visited the Monsoon Palace in Udaipur yesterday and it was great. This is located around 20mins from the city centre and easily accessible using taxis. Entry for foreigners cost INR560 + parking for car on the top cost INR360 and must be bought at the gate. The mountain top location provides amazing views over the lakes and Udaipur which was one of the reasons for the visit. The fort palace is beautiful, well preserved but smaller compared to forts like Amer fort and also hosts a museum. It was a quiet and peaceful visit, highly recommended!
Sanka I — Google review
So I visited the Monsoon Palace recently, and honestly, it’s one of those places that’s more about the view than the palace itself. It’s located on a high hill a bit outside the main city, and once you reach the top, you can literally see all of Udaipur — the lakes, City Palace, and everything else. The view is amazing, especially around sunset or during monsoon when it’s cloudy. Getting there is a bit of a ride though. The road is quite steep and curvy, and it takes around 15–25 minutes to reach the top if you’re going by car or scooty. The entry fee is ₹170 per person, and they also charge ₹300 for cars and ₹70 for two-wheelers. There’s a cab service from the base too, around ₹120 per person if you don’t want to drive up yourself. Once you’re at the top, there’s a small parking area, and you have to walk for about 5 minutes to reach the palace. There’s a small café near the palace that sells basic snacks like samosas, puffs, tea, and cold drinks — nothing fancy but it’s good enough if you just want a quick bite or some water. The palace itself is okay-ish, not very grand or well-maintained, but that’s not really the main attraction. The views from up there totally steal the show. You can see the whole city spread out below — it’s especially beautiful during sunset. Overall, I’d say it’s worth going once, mainly for the views and the drive. Don’t expect a super fancy palace, but if you enjoy scenic spots, it’s a nice little trip.
Ravi J — Google review
The place is beautiful but the tickets rates have gone up. It's around 170-200 per person for Indians + vehicle charges that are close to 200rs. The road features steap curves so keep that in mind if you're taking your vehicle to the top. 'Museum' is little tbh. There's nothing much to see there, it's mostly a good place for a beautiful garden that features the view of the entire city. You can also go to the edge and see the beautiful aravali range as the sun sets. Keep in mind this place is a famous tourist spot and will get very crowded at evenings and weekends. Sometimes the crowd will make it difficult for you to enjoy the view from the top. If you're here for sunsets on a weekend and getting disturbed by the crowd, I suggest you walk down to the cafe at the very entrance of the palace. It's nothing too fancy but it's a few chairs in the garden that give you a free view of the sunset. You can also stop before reaching the palace. There's a spot few hundred meters before the palace that gives you a clear view with little to no crowd. Overall its a good place to visit especially during monsoons 🍻
Lonerider2881 — Google review
beautiful spot with one of the best sunset views in Udaipur. The drive up the hill is scenic, and once you reach the top, you get a breathtaking panoramic view of the city, lakes, and surrounding hills. It’s especially nice during or after monsoon when everything looks green and fresh. On the downside, there isn’t much to see inside the palace — it’s more about the view than the structure itself. The entry fee plus vehicle charge can feel a bit high, and the road uphill is narrow, so it’s better to go with a local driver. Also, there’s limited food or water available at the top, so carrying your own bottle is a good idea. Overall, it’s a great place for sunset lovers and photography, but go mainly for the view, not the palace interiors.

Breathtaking Views and Royal Charm Above the Aravallis! Our visit to Monsoon Palace (Sajjangarh Fort) was truly memorable! Perched high on a hilltop, the palace offers one of the best panoramic views of Udaipur city, Fateh Sagar Lake, and the surrounding Aravalli Hills. The palace itself has a simple yet elegant architecture that reflects royal charm and history. Though the interiors are minimal, the real highlight is the location and the spectacular scenery it offers in every direction. The ride to the top can be steep and narrow at places, but the view at the end makes it all worthwhile. There’s also a small café and a few viewing points where you can relax and enjoy the cool breeze. Entry tickets are reasonably priced, and parking is available near the base. A tip: Visit in the late afternoon to enjoy the sunset views. Overall, Monsoon Palace is a must-visit attraction in Udaipur for its serene atmosphere, stunning vistas, and a glimpse into royal history. A perfect spot for photographers, couples, family and anyone who loves nature and scenic views!

Inderpreet S — Google review
The monsoon palace was truly beautiful, offering a breathtaking view. The sunset from there was particularly stunning, painting the sky with vibrant colors. It's understandable that it can get a little crowded, given its popularity. The entry fee of Rs. 175 seems reasonable for such an experience. Overall, it was a memorable place to visit.
Umang T — Google review
Monsoon Palace is a beautiful spot in Udaipur, offering stunning panoramic views of the city and surrounding hills, especially during sunset. It’s definitely worth visiting if you have the time. However, make sure to reach at least 1–2 hours early to account for ticket queues and taxi waiting times, as the place can get quite crowded. While it’s a nice experience overall, I’d recommend keeping it as a lower priority in your Udaipur itinerary if you’re short on time.

It served as a prominent burial ground for the royal family and boasts a collection of rare monuments dating back to the 10th century. The site features over 250 cenotaphs of the maharajas of Mewar, each showcasing unique architectural designs.

The Ahar Cenotaphs in Udaipur left me underwhelmed and questioning its value as a tourist destination. As a graveyard, it lacked the charm and historical significance that would make it worth a visit. While the site holds cultural and historical importance for the royal families of Mewar, the overall experience felt underwhelming and lacked engaging elements for visitors. If you are seeking a meaningful and enriching exploration of Udaipur's history and heritage, there are more captivating attractions to prioritize over the Ahar Cenotaphs.

Neemach Mata Mandir, also known as Mahakaleshwar Temple, is a revered Hindu temple in Udaipur dedicated to Lord Shiva. Situated along the picturesque banks of Fateh Sagar Lake, this ancient temple has been drawing devotees for nearly 900 years. The temple offers breathtaking views and can be reached after a challenging yet rewarding 1 km hike.
🛕 Neemach Mata Mandir, Udaipur -Peaceful Trek & Scenic Views Recently visited Neemach Mata Mandir in Udaipur and had a truly peaceful and refreshing experience. You can reach the temple either by stairs (which we chose) or by ropeway. The ropeway costs ₹200 round trip or ₹100 one-way, but if you’re up for a mild workout, the trek via stairs takes just about 30 minutes and is totally worth it. The path is well maintained, surrounded by greenery, and gives beautiful glimpses of the city as you ascend. At the top, the temple atmosphere is calm and spiritual. There’s also a small shop near the temple where you can relax, grab a quick snack or a refreshing drink — all at affordable prices. Tip: If you’re trekking, carry your water bottle, especially during the daytime. Highly recommended for those looking to combine spirituality with a bit of nature and light adventure in Udaipur! 🌿🙏
Vasu G — Google review
Neemach Mata Temple is one of Udaipur’s most iconic spiritual spots, perched on a hill right next to the stunning Fateh Sagar Lake. There are two ways to reach the top: a ropeway for a quick ride or a walking trail if you’re up for a little hike. We picked the adventurous route and walked all the way up—because why make life easy, right? It takes about 30 minutes to reach the temple on foot, and you’ll likely spot a bunch of monkeys on the way. Even within the walking route, you have two options: an inclined slope and a staircase. We chose the inclined path, which is a bit easier on the knees and offers a steady climb with scenic views along the way. We started our hike around 4 PM and reached the top by 5. The best part? Hardly 2-3 other people were around. It was quiet, peaceful, and the kind of place where you can just sit and soak in the view (and maybe life). But here’s a heads-up—after 6 PM, it gets dark pretty quickly and the path isn’t well-lit, so plan your visit accordingly. We made sure to descend before sunset wrapped up. If you’re visiting Udaipur, Neemach Mata Temple deserves a spot on your list—not just for the spiritual vibe, but for the breathtaking view that comes with it.

And you can go up by ropeway too it gives a very beautiful view fateh sagar lake as you can see in photos and videoes. The Udaipur Solar Observatory (USO) is in Udaipur, Rajasthan in India on an island in the Fateh Sagar Lake. The sky conditions at Udaipur are quite favorable for solar observations. Since the observatory is situated amidst a large mass of water, air turbulence which occurs due to ground heating by sun's rays is decreased. This improves the image quality and accuracy (average between 1-2 arc seconds). Solar Physics is one of the major areas of research at the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL). The dedicated research group in solar physics is based at the Udaipur Solar Observatory (USO) in Udaipur. The well-equipped ground-based solar observation facility at Udaipur is known globally for highest quality observational solar research. The major science goals of solar physics research group are to understand the physics of solar oscillations, evolution of sunspots, sunspot fine structure, MHD processes in the solar atmosphere, coronal heating, solar eruptions and space weather prediction. Solar research group extensively utilizes data obtained from both ground-based and space-based instruments together with numerical simulations to address key research problems in solar physics. Scientists are also involved in design, development, and operation of various ground-based and space-based instruments.

A special thanks to Mr. Piyush, our knowledgeable and friendly guide, who made the experience truly memorable with his insights. We also stayed at Hotel Fateh Vilas, which was nothing short of royal. The heritage décor, warm hospitality, and peaceful ambience made our stay perfect. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience Udaipur’s regal charm! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ambrai Ghat is a picturesque spot located on the banks of Lake Pichola, offering stunning views of the surrounding palaces and hotels. It's a popular place to capture beautiful sunset scenes and enjoy the serene atmosphere. Visitors can take a leisurely stroll along the ghat, feel the refreshing breeze, and admire the splendor of Lake Pichola. The area is also known for its photogenic appeal, making it an ideal location for photo shoots without breaking the bank.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Ambrai Ghat – A Breathtaking Viewpoint You Shouldn’t Miss in Udaipur Ambrai Ghat is truly one of the most magical spots in Udaipur! From here, you get a panoramic view of the majestic City Palace, shimmering Lake Pichola, and the stunning reflections of the palaces, ghats, and heritage buildings across the water. It’s the perfect place to take in the royal beauty of the city—all in one frame. I first visited during the day and was mesmerized by the peaceful vibes, the cool breeze from the lake, and the sound of temple bells in the background. There are several small temples around the ghat, adding a spiritual and serene charm to the area. The walk to Ambrai Ghat from Gangaur Ghat is an experience in itself. You cross a lovely walking bridge decorated with beautiful poles and lamps, offering picturesque views along the way. It feels like walking through a postcard scene. Later at night, I went back hoping to catch the palace beautifully lit up—but the main entrance to the ghat was closed. However, I found a perfect alternative: you can still enjoy the same mesmerizing night view by entering through the Ambrai Ghat Restaurant. The restaurant offers direct access to the lakefront with the same iconic view—ideal for dinner with a royal backdrop. If you’re visiting Udaipur, Ambrai Ghat is a must-see. Whether it’s for the peaceful morning lake view or the sparkling lights of the City Palace at night, it’s an unforgettable experience. Don’t miss it—walk, sit, click photos, or just breathe in the charm of Udaipur from this beautiful spot.

Such a beautiful, cozy place to sit, relax and watch the sunset. It offers stunning views of City Palace, Taj hotel, and a grand 180 degree view of Picchola Lake. It gets crowded in the evening as a lot of tourists visit for the sunset views, so better to go a bit early. The entrance to the ghat is very narrow and during peak hours it is very troublesome to cross the metal gate in busy crowds.
Shambhavi J — Google review
There are only few seats at the ghat. Keep that in mind. On weekends or events, it's going to be packed and you might not get a place to sit. The access to water is in front of the temple, feel free to get your feet wet over there. At evening the fountains turn on, the city lights up and you get a beautiful view of the palace and city as the temple bells ring for aarti. It's a serene sight and I recommend it to everyone. Just make sure you get the timings right. On a side note: there's hanuman Ji's aarti on Saturday evenings. Ghats have to be vacated for that and you can attend the aarti in both hanuman mandir and vishnu mandir. I do recommend that you do. Have fun✌️
Lonerider2881 — Google review
Great evening experience. It has a 800 year old temple and the sunset view are mesmerising. We can have a view of lake pic hola, Taj hotel boat rides and the city place in front. The hotels are walkable and are great option for dinner after the sunset.
Subrat S — Google review
Calm, amazing and very beautiful place for your evening in Udaipur. Go to the time of sunset or at golden hour. View of palace is amazing from the ghat.
Ashutosh B — Google review
We visited Ambrai Ghat late in the evening on a weekday, and it was such a peaceful and beautiful experience. There was ample space to sit and enjoy the calm surroundings without any rush. The city was lit up with lights reflecting over the lake, and the sound of water gently hitting the shores made it even more serene. The view was absolutely stunning we sat there for a while just soaking it all in and truly enjoyed it to the fullest. A small tip: on weekends or during sunset, the place gets super crowded and it’s quite hard to find a spot to sit. But if you go on a weekday, it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy Udaipur’s calm evening vibes.
Samrudhi R — Google review
Great place especially when you visit in evenings. You can have views of Oberoi Uday Vilas Palace, Lake Palace and Gangaur ghat situated around Lake Pichola(Udaipur) Only issue is the road that leads to the ghat, It is too congested that if try to go on weekends or on public holidays you will have to conquer heavy traffic and huge crowd.
Ravi S — Google review
One of the best place to visit in Udaipur. Loved the place, it's very peaceful and silent, perfect if you want some break from the city noise. The cool wind keeps blowing and makes it even more refreshing. The view from here is just amazing, you can see the lake, Udaipur palace, Taj hotel and lots of mountains around. I spend almost an hour just sitting and enjoying the view.

Bada Mahal, also known as the Big Palace, is a stunning architectural marvel located within the historic confines of Udaipur. This 17th-century palace, once serving as the male section of the City Palace, boasts lush surroundings and intricate Rajput-Mughal architectural design. Visitors can admire its blend of traditional carvings and colorful mirrors that transport them back to ancient times.
Bada Mahal is a palace within a palace and is located in the City Palace of Udaipur. This exclusive palace is beautifully decorated with colored glass mosaics that will take your breath away.

India is a diverse land of rich history and culture which can be found in every aspect of this nation, be it food, festivals, names, or places. One of the most significant historical factors is buildings. The buildings or monuments are the best witnesses of the history of any area. If you wish to explore Udaipur, the city of lakes, start your journey with the City Mahal.

The Wax Museum Udaipur, inspired by the famous Madam Tussauds, showcases 15 lifelike wax statues of global celebrities such as Barack Obama and Michael Jackson. Situated on Sahelion ki Bari Road in Udaipur, Rajasthan, it's a popular tourist spot offering interactive experiences like a Mirror Maze, Horror House, and 9D Cinema.
I visited the wax museum in Udaipur around 7:30 PM and was pleasantly surprised to find no crowd. The experience was fantastic, especially the mirror maze, which was truly captivating. The museum features lifelike wax sculptures of world leaders and celebrities, adding to the charm. The 9D movie was also a fun and engaging experience. However, one downside was being taken to an art gallery next door at the end, which turned out to be a sales pitch—something that could have been avoided. 2 wheeler parking is available. Overall, it was a great visit, and I highly recommend checking out the wax museum.

"Fun & Entertaining Experience at Wax Museum" The Wax Museum in Udaipur is a fun place to visit, especially if you’re looking for something different beyond palaces and lakes. The wax statues of famous personalities are nicely crafted, and it’s exciting to click photos with them. 🎭📸 It’s a good spot for families and kids, and the collection keeps you entertained for a while. The ticket price felt a bit on the higher side, but overall the experience was enjoyable and worth visiting once.
Ankit S — Google review
Bit costly.. the amenities were not that widely given. 9 d show was not clear. May old technology they are still relying.. this place need total makeover.. everything inside were not properly maintained. All in all not worth spending 500 bucks for having all the activities there .

It's not clean and no special attraction. Local fastivals will have better glass house and screy house. Please don't waste time and money. Udaypur has more beautiful places. Better spend more time in old city.

Visited the wax museum in Udaipur recently, but honestly, it wasn't worth the stop. Our guide insisted we go even though we made it clear we weren’t interested, which made the whole experience feel a bit forced—felt as though there might be some sort of tie-up with the guides there. Unless you’re specifically curious about wax figures, it’s probably best to skip this spot and spend your time exploring the many other wonderful attractions in Udaipur.

This place is a must visit for everyone to know more about this war and also to inspire children and let them know to not glorify Akbar instead glorify warriors like Maharana Pratap, shivaji and many more. This place has an entry ticket of 140 and every penny is worth it when you enter this premises. It also has a light show at night which you can also watch if you are coming here in the evening. Gangaur Ghat, located on the edge of Lake Pichola in Udaipur, is a popular destination for cultural and religious processions. It is particularly vibrant during the Gangaur Festival in March or April, when local women celebrate with traditional processions starting from the City Palace, featuring folk performances, chariots, bullock carts, and palanquins. The ghat's serene surroundings make it a picturesque spot for pre-wedding photoshoots.
We visited Gangaur Ghat in the late Sunday evening, and the view after sunset was truly beautiful, with the calm waters reflecting the city lights. The approach through the narrow lanes adds a touch of charm and makes the journey feel like an exploration of the old city. Once you reach, the ghat offers a peaceful ambiance where you can sit, relax, and soak in the atmosphere. It’s a wonderful place to spend quality time with family, watch the boats pass by, and enjoy the blend of heritage and serenity that the ghat is known for. The experience feels even more special in the evening when the surroundings become quieter and the beauty of the lake comes alive.

We visited here on a Long weekend and hence the crowd was expected but still not too much crowded. Place is good to have photos with backdrop of Haveli and the Lake. Also you can pay ₹10 to have Corn 🌽 seeds and try luring Pigeons 🐦 and some some photos with them. Apart from this there nothing else you can do here. If not crowded then you might find some peace sitting on the lake side.

Cultural Gem in Udaipur🩵🥰 Gangaur Ghat is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places in the heart of Udaipur. This ghat offers unmatched views of Lake Pichola, especially during sunrise🌅 and sunset🌄. The reflection of the City Palace and Jag Mandir in the water is simply magical. One thing you definitely try that 30rs of Dove🕊 feeding must try because dove come to your hand and eat and clicking your magical memories with them. It’s a wonderful place to spend quality time with family, watch the boats pass by, and enjoy the blend of heritage and serenity that the ghat is known for. The experience feels even more special in the evening when the surroundings become quieter and the beauty of the lake comes alive. The vibe here is both spiritual and artistic. You’ll often see locals doing morning prayers, kids feeding pigeons, tourists taking photos, and sometimes even musicians or pre-wedding shoots📸 happening. It’s also a hotspot during festivals like Gangaur and Teej, when the place becomes alive with traditions and colors. Pros: Scenic views of Lake Pichola Close to heritage attractions Great for photography and quiet moments Cons: Can get crowded during peak tourist hours Limited cleanliness at times

Gangaur Ghat is the soul of Udaipur! The view of Lake Pichola with the Aravallis in the background is absolutely mesmerizing, especially during sunset. Locals playing music, pigeons flying around, and the calm water make it the perfect place to just sit and soak in the beauty. A must-visit for photography lovers! When I visited in the morning time, it was a pre wedding photoshoot spot 😄

Beautiful place with amazing view of sunset. Lot of movies have been shot here. So many cafes are along the shore where you can go to the top and enjoy the view. After this you can go to Ambrighat for amazing light view of the city palace. Lot of small shops around this place for shopping gifts for your friends and family. Only thing to notice is that, this place is very narrow and driving a car can be very difficult. Please try to use public transport or auto
Aravind R — Google review
Not so good as suggested by Google. Very crowded, quite dirty and frequented by beggars and hawkers. No great views either. but yhe best thing is seeing the soul stirring aarti after sunset and people floating diyas and candles in the lake water to offer their prayers. It's better to walk upto the wonderful Ambrai ghat which is just a km away with 100 times better views - 100% views of city palace, lake Palace, 180 degree lake views..

It's the most popular attraction in Udaipur on the bank of Pichola Lake. It's famous for pre wedding shoots. The place is beautiful and relaxing having Bangor ki Haveli just next to it. It is recommended to go by auto rikshaw there to avoid traffic congestion. I have seen this place occupied from morning 6 to 12 midnight.
Rakesh Y — Google review
Gangaur Ghat is the absolute heart and soul of Udaipur. From the moment you step through the magnificent old archway, you are transported to a place of incredible beauty and vibrant energy. The ghat offers some of the most breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Pichola, with the iconic Lake Palace and Jag Mandir looking like jewels floating on the water. What makes this place so special is its lively yet peaceful atmosphere. The steps leading down to the water are always buzzing with a wonderful mix of locals, travelers, and hundreds of friendly pigeons, creating fantastic photo opportunities. We visited in the late afternoon and stayed to watch the sunset, which was a truly magical experience. The way the changing colors of the sky reflect on the serene lake is something you have to see to believe. It’s the perfect spot to simply sit, relax, and soak in the authentic culture of the city.

The service was exceptional from start to finish. A huge thank you to Amit, the Restaurant Manager, the talented chefs, Vijay at Neel Kamal, and Surevh for their warmth and care. The private dinner on the Mehar Terrace and the thoughtful touches made my birthday celebration truly special. Every moment felt magical. Highly recommend!

The "Floating Palace" Experience Unparalleled Location: The most distinct feature is its location on the natural rock foundation of Jag Niwas island in Lake Pichola. The palace for appear to "float" on the water, offering a serene and mesmerizing atmosphere. The Vibe: It's a former 18th-century royal summer retreat (Jag Niwas) that has been meticulously converted and restored. Sunset Cruise: A complimentary or highly recommended activity is the sunset boat cruise, offering 360-degree views of the palace and the City Palace from the water. The Taj Lake Palace is reviewed as a once-in-a-lifetime destination that perfectly blends historical architecture, world-class luxury, and an unbelievably romantic location. It's often called the "Most Romantic Hotel in the World" and has been recognized with the prestigious Three Michelin Keys, affirming its status as one of the world's most memorable stays.

A magical stay with the most wonderful staff team! We cannot praise the staff at the Taj Lake Palace enough! Never have we experienced such warm and loving care that felt like everything we could possibly need was taken care of! Chef Anop created such amazing food with fresh seasonal ingredients and came to greet us to tell us the stories behind these creations! Mahendra, the kitchen manager kindly took the time to explain so much about his background and how it’s possible to manage iconic preparations like the thali. All the team present at breakfast, lunch and dinner including Vikki and Dinuja made so much effort to ensure we were comfortable during our meals and were on hand for any queries we had even going above and beyond to take some pictures for us! Kajal, the amazing guest relations specialist really got to know us and our travel plans and she coordinated with others behind the scenes to seamlessly support during the surprise proposal and really took care greeting us! Iqbal, our boat guide took us on a wonderful tour around the beautiful pichola lake and really added to our experience! These are a few names but we must say that we feel truly inspired by the manner in which all of the Taj Lake Palace Team conducted themselves. We will leave the Taj Lake Palace admiring how every individual coordinated themselves to fulfil the vision of exemplary guest services and carried such positive, calm and collected energy! Thank you once again, We wish every member of the Taj Family love and best wishes, Amit and Krina Patel

Our experience at the Taj Lake Palace, Udaipur was absolutely magical. The setting on Lake Pichola is breathtaking, but what truly made the stay exceptional was the impeccable service. From the moment we arrived, the team anticipated every need with warmth and grace. A special mention to Gaurav, who went above and beyond to make our stay seamless — thoughtful, attentive, and genuinely kind. His hospitality perfectly captured the spirit of the Taj. Every detail, from the beautifully maintained heritage interiors to the serene boat rides and exquisite dining, reflected world-class standards. The Lake Palace is more than a hotel — it’s an experience that stays with you. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Udaipur — worth every moment.
Lam L — Google review
The location is incredible, the grounds are perfectly manicured, and the staff are exceptionally attentive. The restaurant Bhairo is one element here that does not live up to the rest of the hotel. It’s fixed at $150 per person, and the waiter tried to upsell us a $350 bottle of wine (with no sommelier justification - just that “white goes well with fish”). The meal is above average, but comparable to a $60 meal anywhere else in the world. The general taste was monotone. You’re paying for the view, and if dropping $450 at a good-but-not-great dinner doesn’t bother you, go for it. I for one felt ripped off, and it overshadowed what was otherwise a lovely stay. I expected to be ripped off in the streets, but it’s clear the hotel’s whole goal is to part you with as much money as possible, which makes you feel uncomfortable in a place where you’re meant to be relaxed. Some highlights: Cocktails at the bar were delicious. The staff is truly top tier, and I felt pampered. You’ll live like a king for a few days, but also pay like one in every respect.

Nestled in the picturesque Machla Magra Hills, the Karni Mata Temple in Udaipur is a must-visit for both spiritual seekers and nature lovers. This enchanting temple not only boasts a serene courtyard and a stone idol of Karni Mata but also offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city below.
Visited Karni Mata Mandir, Udaipur in late July, and the ropeway ride up itself was unforgettable. As monsoon clouds hugged the Aravalli hills and lakes shimmered below, the cool breeze felt magical. The serene atmosphere, combined with that breathtaking rope ride, made the entire experience truly mesmerizing.
Esha S — Google review
Went for the sunset and took the ropeway - tickets cost ₹116 per person for a to-and-fro ride. The ropeway dropped us quite a bit away from the main temple, and we had to walk uphill under the blazing sun, which honestly made the experience quite tiring. After reaching the temple, we sat in the shade for a while, prayed to Karni Mata, and waited for the sunset and it was absolutely worth it. The view of Udaipur city and the lakes from the top was breathtaking, one of the best sunsets I’ve seen. After coming down, we walked to Dudh Talai Lake, which was calm and peaceful, a nice way to end the visit. Just a tip: take your own vehicle or a reserved auto, because the ones waiting outside charge way too much.
Akanksha V — Google review
Beautiful temple with an amazing peaceful vibe. The view from the top is absolutely stunning - you can see the whole Udaipur city, lakes, and sunset from here. The ropeway ride to reach the temple is a great experience too, especially in the evening. The temple is clean and well-maintained, and the idol of Karni Mata looks divine. You can sit and spend some time. A must-visit spot in Udaipur for both spiritual and scenic experience.

A nice temple located on hill top. One can reach to top either through stairs (around 700) or using ropeway. The ropeway generally would have waiting of around 1-2 hours. The ticket for an adult is around 116/- and half ticket for children. The view from the temple is very good.

Karni Mata Mandir is one of the best places to visit in Udaipur. The temple itself is beautiful and peaceful, and the view from the top is absolutely worth it — you get to see the entire city, the lake, and sunset vibes that are just stunning. I’d highly suggest visiting in the evening to enjoy the cool breeze and mesmerizing sunset. You can reach the temple either by ropeway or by a short trek, both offering great experiences. A perfect spot for photography, peace, and breathtaking views

Karni Mata Mandir in Udaipur is a popular temple perched on a hilltop near Doodh Talai, offering one of the best sunset viewpoints in the city. Visitors appreciate the temple's serene atmosphere and the panoramic views of Udaipur city, including Lake Pichola and the Lake Palace, which look spectacular during sunset. The temple is accessible via a thrilling ropeway ride or by climbing stairs, both offering stunning city and lake views. The temple itself is small and beautifully carved with marble, and is known for its unique presence of rats considered sacred by devotees. Evening visits to enjoy the sunset are highly recommended, with the temple terrace providing an excellent vantage point. Visitors suggest arriving before sunset to fully enjoy the scenic beauty as the sky changes colors and the city lights come alive. Facilities include a small restaurant and photography services (not always highly rated), with a peaceful environment ideal for contemplation and relaxation. In brief, Karni Mata Mandir is a must-visit spot in Udaipur for its blend of spirituality, cultural uniqueness, and breathtaking sunset views, making it a favored destination for tourists looking to capture magical moments of the cityscape at dusk

Visiting Karni Mata Mandir in Udaipur was a memorable experience, especially thanks to the ropeway, which kids will definitely enjoy. The temple itself is quite nice, but what really stands out is the stunning view from the top—you get an eagle's eye view of the city, and the sunset scenery is hard to beat. The ropeway is very well organized and feels safe, though you should be ready for a long wait, which can test your patience a bit. Still, the combination of the unique transportation, the peaceful temple, and those breathtaking views made it a really worthwhile outing.
Pankaj A — Google review
Visiting Karni Mata Temple via the ropeway was an amazing experience! 🚡 The ride offers breathtaking panoramic views of Udaipur city, Lake Pichola, and the surrounding Aravalli hills. The temple itself is peaceful and spiritually uplifting, with beautiful architecture and a serene atmosphere. The ropeway makes the climb effortless and scenic, and the views from the top are truly Instagram-worthy. It’s a perfect combination of adventure, sightseeing, and spiritual visit all in one. 🌄🙏

Bohra Ganesh ji Temple @ Udaipur, Rajasthan _/\_ Bohra Ganesh Temple is a very old and famous temple of Lord Ganesh, situated near Mohanlal Sukhadia University in Udaipur. Having a standing deity of Lord Ganesh at the center, there is an east facing murti of the Lord is in a dancing posture. This temple earns the same respect in Udaipur, as the #MotiDungari temple in #Jaipur. This temple is visited by thousands of devotees every week. Bohra Ganesh Temple is believed to be about 350 years old. Originally named as '#Borganesh', the temple was built outside the then city boundary of Udaipur. But since then, due to expansion of city boundaries, this area now falls within under the city limits. Now the entire area is also known as Bohra Ganesh. This new name of this temple also has an interesting story behind. It is believed that 70–80 years ago people who needed money for purposes like marriage and business would write the requirement on a slip of paper and leave it before the murti. Soon he would get the amount needed, but in turn they had to return the amount with interest. In India, it is generally the #Bohra cast which is involved in business of lending money. For this reason, Lord Ganesh here got named as Bohra Ganesh. However, it is also a common belief that devotees with real trust on Bohra Ganesh also get their wishes fulfilled.

The Hall of Heroes, also known as the Moti Magri Museum, is a must-visit attraction in Udaipur. Situated near the Maharana Pratap Smarak, this museum offers a fascinating insight into the life and history of Maharana Pratap and other great warriors of his dynasty.
A very nice museum with a lot of weapon artefacts and paintings. Says a story of the mewar family and Rana Pratap. Some models of the battles are kept along with the war scenes. If you visit this place, definitely step into this museum. Worth it.

The Hall of Heroes Museum in Udaipur showcases a rich history of bravery and valor of Mewar warriors. It's a tribute to the courageous individuals who have made significant contributions to society, preserving their legacy for future generations. The museum is divided into three stages. In the first stage you will find the picture gallery of the warriors. The second stage is a weapon gallery which includes armors, swords and equipment used in battles. The third stage contains a mini replica of the city palace, Haldighati valley and much more.

The Hall of heroes is foremost dedicated to Maharana Pratap and then to the other great warriors in his dynasty. It shows us the timeline of events that has taken place in his life through big banners with pictures followed by the description of events. At another floor you will find huge models of the battlegrounds like Haldighati and other forts too. We also have another hall dedicated to many warrior princes like Udai Singh whose life stories are depicted through huge pictures. This building is three storeyed and is situated in a hillock Motimagri which overlooks the Fateh Sagar lake.

Located within the serene surroundings of Gulab Bagh, Government Museum Udaipur is a treasure trove of the city's rich history. The museum showcases a diverse collection of artifacts from the Mewar dynasty, including sculptures dating back to the 8th century, inscriptions from the 3rd century, folk art, ancient coins, jewelry, and paintings. It offers visitors a glimpse into Udaipur's storied past and cultural heritage.
A must visit while in Udaipur. Well maintained, easy to navigate, great collection of artifacts, adequate detailing. Parking is available. Restrooms are not adequate. Steps are steep at places (original fort steps) so those with knee problem may have to reconsider.

Too many of the reviews on here are actually for the (excellent) City Palace museum nearby. This little museum is a site of sad neglect, which is a shame. There are some nice exhibits - stone carvings, miniatures, (along with some weird stuff for children - stuffed, gaping at the seams kangaroo anyone?) all depressingly displayed. While the lack of investment is obvious, I'm not sure what the museum management's excuse is for not doing anything about the drifts of dust covering some of the exhibits. Best skipped unless desperate or an aficionado on the OK bits. 100Rs, no ticket 🤔

Government Museum Udaipur, also known as the Pratap Museum, provides a captivating exploration of Udaipur and the Mewar region's rich history and culture. This is located near the City Palace, and the museum houses a diverse collection of antiques, sculptures, curios, and inscriptions. It features an extensive collection of ancient statues and old scripts, offering insights into the region's historical and artistic heritage. Originally a section of the City Palace and the Ladies Chamber (Zenana Mahal), the museum was established in 1974 and is managed by the Maharana of Mewar Charitable Foundation. The City Palace, which houses the museum, showcases a blend of Rajasthani, Mughal, Chinese, and British architectural styles. Its construction spanned four and a half centuries, which was begun in 1559. Key architectural features include Badi Pol, Manek Chowk, Ganesh Deori, Rajya Angan, Badi Mahal, Mor Chowk, Zenana Palace, and Kanch Ki Burj. Exhibits in the Museum include miniature paintings of the Mewar School, a turban that belonged to Shah Jahan, and a taxidermized monkey holding a lamp. Other notable items include portraits of Maharana rulers and a double-headed taxidermied calf. The museum is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Saturday, and closed on Sundays. Situated close to the City Palace, it is conveniently located near other popular attractions such as Lake Pichola, Saheliyon ki Bari, Gulab Bagh, and Sajjan Garh Palace. While some older reviews mention the need for better maintenance and cleanliness, the museum generally offers a valuable experience for those interested in history and art. Lot of time is required to fully appreciate the diverse collection and architectural details.

It houses an impressive collection of ancient sculptures, inscriptions, coins, paintings, manuscripts, weapons, royal costumes, and traditional artifacts that reflect the glorious past of Udaipur. The museum also features exquisite displays of miniature paintings, depicting scenes from Mewar’s history, royal processions, and Hindu mythology. Its well-maintained galleries provide visitors with a deep insight into the region’s art, culture, and traditions. With its peaceful ambiance and historically significant exhibits, the Government Museum is a must-visit for those who want to experience Udaipur’s royal past up close. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is the Government Museum, Ahar, Udaipur or some people call it the Museum of Archaeological. There is no rush here at all. This property is not at all maintained unlike the City Palace. The entry fee of the City Palace is a 400₹ and this museum has only a 20₹ entry fee. You don't need to buy the City Palace's ticket to visit here. You have to inform at the gate of City Palace that you only want to visit here so you need not to pay for the City Palace entry fee. The City Palace staff usually don't provide information about this place, you have to tell them confidently that you wanna visit here. It is a very secluded area, no security here at all. All the limelight goes to City Palace only.

If you are in Udaipur then this is the place to visit with a plan to spend atleast 2+ hours here. The museum which is located inside the city palace has multiple galleries and palace locations to visit and adore. It is best to hire a guide if you are going here to know in detail about the place and the artifacts. The museum starts with the armoury section which was very interesting. The different sections in the palace used by the royal families for different occasions and festivals keep coming up as you move forward in the museum. Note that audio guides in different foreign languages including French and Italian are available besides English and Hindi. You also have washrooms and restaurants just outside the entrance and exit of the museum. This is a beautiful place and I request all with folded hands not to litter this amazing place. Have a great time !!

The city palace property is very well maintained by the trust. There is a battery operated car to reach the entrance of the palace. Jagmandir Island Palace, also known as Lake Garden Palace, is a 17th-century island palace located on the tranquil shores of Lake Pichola in Udaipur. This upscale hotel offers stylish dining, stunning lake views, a spa, and a museum. The palace complex features enchanting divisions such as Gul Mahal, Garden Courtyard, Darikhana, Bara Patharon ka Mahal, Zenana Mahal, and Kunwar Pada ka.
We visited Jagmandir Udaipur recently, and it was magical! The boat ride to this island palace on Lake Pichola was scenic, with stunning views of the lake and hills. The palace is gorgeous, with lush gardens and intricate carvings that feel so royal. Wandering the courtyards was peaceful, and the staff shared fascinating history, making it special. The café’s snacks and drinks were delicious, and sipping coffee by the lake was perfect. The only downsides were no elevator, so stairs were tough for my parents, and a small pool area would’ve been nice.

We had a lovely dinner at Darikhana. The food is top notch and so is the ambience. We were taken care by Laksham Meena ji, who made sure he give all the historical information while serving the food with patience and kindness. And also chef made sure to make us try small bites as his compliments. Over all, a lovely experience :)

Jagmandir is a must-visit island in Udaipur and easily one of the city’s most photogenic spots. The place is very well maintained and offers a unique atmosphere—perfect for those looking for memorable photos and a slice of Udaipur’s charm. Although the food is on the expensive side, the overall vibe makes up for it. The boat ride from the city center adds a fun touch to the trip, but be prepared for possible waiting times; in our case, it was a two-hour wait, which was quite disappointing. Still, Jagmandir is absolutely worth seeing if you have some flexibility in your schedule.

To reach Jagmandir Island, you’ll need to take a boat ride across Lake Pichola. Tickets can be purchased either at the City Palace ticket counter or near the lake itself. The ticket prices vary depending on the time of day, with morning rides being cheaper and evening rides slightly costlier. The boat ride takes about 15–20 minutes, offering a beautiful round trip across Lake Pichola before dropping you at the island. Be prepared for long queues, as the waiting time can be 1–2 hours, especially during peak hours. Once on the island, there isn’t much to explore, but it’s a great place to relax, enjoy the peaceful lake views, and walk through the beautiful gardens and old palace-like structures. You can also click great photos with the lake and Udaipur city in the backdrop. There’s a restaurant and café on the island, perfect for grabbing snacks or drinks while enjoying the scenic surroundings. After your visit, you can take a return boat back to the City Palace jetty. Overall, a calm and scenic experience, best enjoyed for its views and atmosphere rather than sightseeing.

Jagmandir Island in Udaipur is a picturesque and historic island palace located in Lake Pichola, known for its serene and royal ambiance. Visitors often praise the beautiful lake views, the tranquil setting surrounded by water, and the pleasant boat ride from City Palace that offers stunning vistas of Udaipur's palaces and forts. The island features lovely palace gardens, an open courtyard with cafes and restaurants, and areas perfect for relaxing and photography. The food and service at the island's restaurants receive mixed reviews—while the ambiance and quality of food are appreciated, the menu is limited, and prices are considered steep by some visitors. Service, particularly at cafes, can be slow, but staff hospitality is generally noted as warm and attentive. The island is a favored spot for a short peaceful visit or an evening boat ride to enjoy sunsets over Lake Pichola.Visitors highlight Jagmandir as a must-visit for its aesthetic appeal and royal charm, though some feel the stay is brief given the cost and scope of activities. It is especially recommended to visit early in the day to avoid crowds and fully enjoy the calm environment.Overall, Jagmandir Island Palace offers a memorable experience combining historical grandeur, scenic beauty, and peacefulness—a perfect getaway for those wanting a royal experience in Udaipur's lake surroundings, despite some areas that could be improved like food variety and service speed

We stayed at Taj Fateh Prakash Palace, Udaipur for one night, and there’s no denying...it truly feels like stepping into history. The property is gorgeous, with that grand, royal charm that makes you feel like you’re inside a living palace. Location is absolutely unbeatable. Right next to the City Palace and overlooking Lake Pichola with postcard views of the Taj Lake Palace...this is as prime as it gets. You’re close to everything worth visiting in Udaipur, and the lakefront setting is simply breathtaking. Watching the sunset from the poolside area is a mesmerizing ...you could honestly sit there for hours soaking it all in. Coming to rooms...we stayed in the base category room, and while it had an old-world vibe, it felt a bit small and could’ve been cleaner, especially considering the price point. The windows don’t open, which makes the space feel a little closed off ....balconies or openable windows would make a big difference in bringing in that beautiful view. Lets come to service....this is where the experience dipped a little. There seemed to be only one staff member handling almost everything..luggage, room service, housekeeping and he was clearly overworked. The effort was appreciated, but the hotel definitely needs more helping hands. The staff overall wasn’t rude, but they also weren’t particularly warm or proactive....something you’d expect at a five-star property. The breakfast buffet was decent for Indian taste buds...nothing extravagant, but good enough. Service during breakfast was again quite slow. You often had to ask (and ask again) for things. Despite the service hiccups, I’d still recommend staying here at least once mainly for the location, views, and that timeless palace charm. Just don’t expect the same level of attentiveness you’d get at other Taj/or Marriott/Accor properties.

An Unforgettable Stay at Taj Fateh Prakash Palace, Udaipur Our stay at Taj Fateh Prakash Palace was truly magical and exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Mr. Ravi, a kind and friendly gentleman who made our check-in process seamless. His thoughtful gestures, especially towards our kids, instantly made us feel at home. To our surprise and delight, he upgraded us to a beautiful suite — a space that was nothing short of regal, with impeccable interiors, luxurious amenities, and an old-world charm that made us feel like royalty. The dining experience was equally memorable. We ordered dinner in-room, and it was absolutely fabulous — from the presentation to the flavours, every detail was just perfect. A special mention to the kitchen staff who made homely parathas for our kids, going that extra mile to ensure their comfort and satisfaction. The breakfast spread the next morning was equally impressive, offering a wide variety of delicious options. Upon check-out, we used some of our American Express vouchers, and the team was extremely courteous and helpful. They paid close attention to every detail and ensured that the redemption process was smooth and hassle-free, providing us with the best service possible. Mr. Ravi once again greeted us with genuine warmth and personally escorted us to the Ghat, from where we took a boat to the Lake Palace. His hospitality throughout made us feel more like we were leaving a dear friend than a hotel. The entire staff at the palace was exceptional — attentive, courteous, and always ready to help. We also enjoyed a scenic golf cart ride to the City Palace, which added to the charm of our experience. The hotel had also arranged a smooth pick-up and drop, making the travel logistics completely stress-free. And finally, the heartfelt departure gift we received from Mr. Ravi and his team was the perfect end to our unforgettable stay. It was a touching gesture that left a lasting impression on our hearts. We can’t wait to return to this beautiful palace. Thank you, Taj Fateh Prakash, for a truly royal experience.

I'm extremely disappointed with my recent stay at Taj Fateh Prakash Palace, Udaipur. Despite booking two rooms and staying for two nights, the service fell short of expectations. The most concerning incident was at the terrace restaurant's female washroom, where a male member entered and handled my infant child in an inappropriate and unhygienic manner. He washed the child's genitals and forced our maid to make the child stand on a potty seat loaded with germs. This was not only shocking but also posed a significant health risk. The lack of supervision and disregard for hygiene and privacy were alarming. As a guest, I expect a certain level of care and respect, especially when it comes to the well-being of my child. Considering the premium brand reputation, I hope the management takes necessary steps to address these issues and ensure a safer, more respectful experience for future guests. Being a member at Taj and a frequent visitor at various Taj properties around the country. This is the first time I have experienced such a behaviour. Hence highly disappointed.

Stunning Views, Beautiful Hotel — But Surprising Shortcomings I stayed at Taj Fateh Prakash after the Taj Lake Palace to continue my birthday celebrations, and the Grand Luxury Suite Lake View was breathtaking — the balcony views were even better than at the Lake Palace. The hotel is gorgeous, and the housekeeping staff was lovely. However, the infrastructure is split between buildings, with tourist spots in between that get crowded and affect the exclusive feel. The bar was closed on a Saturday night, which is unbelievable for a luxury hotel. In-room amenities were disappointing: empty minibar, plastic water bottles instead of glass, missing jacuzzi amenities, no wine glasses, no coffee machine, and no emergency phones in corridors. While everything was eventually resolved, these issues shouldn’t exist at this level. It’s a beautiful property with spectacular views, but the standards need to rise to match its potential.

A heartfelt thank you to Gouravji, the F&B Manager, who made sure our tummies were always full and happy. His warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality truly stood out. He was wonderfully supported by Preethi who was so disciplined, polite, and attentive. We genuinely missed her on our last day…it was her day off, and it felt strange not seeing her around. A big shoutout to the talented chefs — Chef Ishan for the special jalebi fafda, Chef Vivek for the delicious North Indian cuisine, Chef Prakash for the mouthwatering Chinese dishes, and Chef Khushnuma for her perfect omelettes, made just the way we like them. Kalu Singh ji from housekeeping deserves a special mention for thoughtfully setting up the extra bed like a diwan and making it incredibly comfortable. Sandheep ji, who was there right from the beginning, made sure we were well looked after throughout our stay. We also want to appreciate Kanhaiyalal ji and Umesh ji from the security team for always greeting us with such warmth and cheerful smiles. Vinod ji, Ravi ji, Ashuram ji, Lalit ji, Gaurav ji, Gaj Singh ji, and Kalu Singh ji too deserve thanks for their kindness and assistance. And a special mention to Gulzar ji, our driver, who was extremely polite and knowledgeable. He shared little details and stories about the places we passed on our way. The property itself is absolutely beautiful - the Sandhya Aarti is divine and the location couldn’t be better, right in the heart of Udaipur. Golf carts are easily available for short rides to nearby tourist spots, and autos can be taken for further access. That said, having stayed at several Taj properties before, we did find the overall hospitality here to be a little less warm compared to others. But the team members I’ve mentioned truly embodied the Taj spirit and made our experience memorable.

House of Ming Restaurant Review The food didn’t quite meet our expectations, especially given the premium pricing. The starters were unexpectedly sweet almost as if they had been dipped in honey which didn’t align with what we were hoping for in terms of flavor. When paying such high prices, one looks forward to authentic or at least closely authentic cuisine, but unfortunately, we found the overall taste lacking. We ordered seven dishes, both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, and none truly stood out in terms of authenticity or quality. It's a bit disappointing, particularly from the Taj group, which is known for excellence. We genuinely hope there will be improvements in the food quality to better reflect the standards and value associated with the brand.
