Theme Parks
Fuji-Q Highland is an amusement park located near the base of Mount Fuji in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi. It's a popular destination for thrill-seekers with its impressive collection of rides, including Takabisha, the world's steepest roller coaster, and other famous coasters like Eejanaika, Do-Dodonpa, and Fujiyama. The park also offers two haunted attractions - Hopeless Fortress and the Haunted Hospital.
Must-visit place for Naruto and rollercoaster fans. It was my first time in the rollercoaster and it was terrifying, but still fun 🤣 Naruto fans will have more than enough content to have fun with. Food is good, but a bit expensive considering the amount of it (still normal as it's amusement park) There are FREE tickets for just walking in, one-enter tickets and one-day tickets. The paid ones allow you to enter all attractions for free, but you still have to wait in the queues if you don't have priority pass for specific attraction.
Sebastian T — Google review
This is my 2nd visit to Fuji-Q Highland, and I was worried about how the day would pan out as my last visit was atrocious! However, let me say that today was a very pleasant surprise! I paid for the priority entrance, which gets you into the park 30 minutes early (which is massively worth it). Head for the big coasters first - Zokkon and Fujiyama, as they get the biggest queues! They have a lot of great attractions, but make sure you read the opening times of all attractions as some things do close at 1.30pm and some open later in the day. They do have a detailed maintenance schedule on their website, but the opening and closing times did catch me out on my last visit. Also, attractions will close early depending on the queue times (for which they make announcements around the park), so make sure to plan everything you want to ride in time. There are vending machines next to each ride to buy fast passes, which is handy at busy times! The food stalls in the middle of the park are great, I had the Indian food which was lush. They are well-priced, too. There are lots of vending machines all around the park. There are at least 5/6 gift shops with lots of cool merchandise. There is also a 7-Eleven outside the park! Great for fussy eaters or cheap snacks! When visiting, make sure to plan ahead and get there early for a head start as when it's busy, it can be very unorganised and stressful.

We went on a Monday in late October, and it wasn’t too packed. At most we waited an hour for one of the big roller coasters. If you are looking for a park with some of the best roller coasters ever then this is it! We loved Takabisha so much, it was scary and exhilarating all at the same time! Eejanaika is going to mess with your mind, all its twists and turns. But there are other great rides too, a special mention needs to be made for Tondemina (La pizza) ride that was fantastic. This park is filled with thrills. We had the Fuji pizza which was great. As a tip, the all day pass lets you re-enter, we went back to our hotel then returned at night, well worth it. I’ve read reviews that say the safety checks take a while and they do but honestly I was glad for it. Was it worth the money? Absolutely! I’d love to go again on a clear day when I can see Mt. Fuji.
Kyle W — Google review
Amazing rides - better than any other amusement park i've been to. They lack the intricate themes other amusement parks have (e.g., Disneyland) - more bare bones adrenaline rush. And they are very good at this - rides are so fast and frenzied that it's actually important to listen to the instructions and maintain the posture they tell you to have. They require emtying all pockets before boarding rides, and also remove glasses (they didn't even allow using goggles). They have free lockers at each ride. There are some vegan options in the food court (vegan ramen and curry). Amusement park food, not bad but not good either. there is also a Starbucks with some vegan snacks and vegan lattes. When we were there the lines were very short, so we would probably could have done without the priority tickets we bought. But I read and heard that in most times the lines are very long, and priority passes are recommended. We bought everything in the fuji Q website - if the site crashes, try turning off the google translation - it worked for us.
עמוס ר — Google review
We got there right as they opened and there were little to no lines which was great. We were able to get through a few rides in just over an hour which is awesome! As the day progressed, the lines did start to get longer, but we definitely got our money's worth with the day pass. I think the longest we waited for a ride was about an hour. Also, the views of Fujisan were breathtaking! Especially from the top of the highest roller-coasters. Definitely will visit again next time we are in Japan!
Bradford S — Google review
We went on a Autumn Thursday so there weren't that much lines! We were able ride all the rides that were open that day. They closed some down pretty early like the pizzala and the paniclock. I think Dodonpa closed down. However, the must-try rides for speed and thrill that are usually open are Fujiyama, Takabisha (the vertical drop was amazing), Eejanaika(fast and fun), and Zokkon. The Naruto village was a great place for me since Im a Naruto fan!
Ian F — Google review
I personally rank Fuji-Q among the top theme parks of the world for the following reasons: high density of absolutely innovative roller coasters and thrilling rides; sections of the park with authentic Japanese anime IPs; unmatched location with views of Mount Fuji; and plenty of activities for non-thrill seeking visitors as well. Sadly the day I visited ended up with rainy weather since afternoon and I couldn't finish the non-rollercoaster rides... Will plan another trip there again to finish what I've missed.
Naisheng X — Google review
We visited on a weekday and it was not too crowded actually. Most visitors are local Japanese. The park has English translations at every ride and facility. It was not difficult to navigate in the park as foreigners. We were thrilled at some of the rides and totally appreciated the effort being put in designing such rides. The longest wait we did was around 80 minutes but it could be longer on weekends. Purchase fast passes if needed. You will need to register for facial recognition right before entering as every ride will require that facial scanning for you to enter. Clean park. Excellent food options. Restaurants and food stalls charged reasonably and food actually tasted good.

Scenic spot
Oishi Park is a picturesque spot situated on the northern edge of Lake Kawaguchiko, offering breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji. The park boasts vibrant flower fields featuring tulips, lavender, and begonias from late April to October, creating a colorful backdrop against the iconic mountain. Additionally, visitors can enjoy the only island and bridge in the Fuji Five Lakes area, with Unoshima island being a significant cultural site.
Oishi Park is a scenic park located in the Yamanashi Prefecture of Japan, near the shores of Lake Kawaguchi. It's famous for its stunning views of Mount Fuji, especially during the spring and autumn months. The park has beautifully landscaped gardens with walking paths, a lovely rose garden, and a great spot for picnics. One of the highlights is the Oishi Park Flower Garden, which blooms with a variety of flowers, including lavender, sunflowers, and chrysanthemums. During certain seasons, the park hosts various flower festivals. It's also a popular spot for photography, thanks to the breathtaking views of Mount Fuji and the tranquil setting around the lake.

This is a beautiful park. I love the well tended gardens. We came during autumn and was delighted to see the fiery kochia bushes in spectacular bloom. The backdrop of the lake and mount fuji really made this park a very popular destination for tourists and locals alike. The whole park is so well kept and clean. The facilities such as parking and lavatories are also readily available. There are shops here which sells snacks and you can enjoy your coffee and snacks with a fantastic view of the park, the lake and the mountain in the background. If you don't want to leave without any mementos, there are also souvenir shops here and plenty of well positioned platforms for photographers.
Gevs — Google review
Oishi Park is one of the most beautiful spots around Lake Kawaguchi to enjoy a clear and unobstructed view of Mount Fuji. The park is very well maintained with colorful seasonal flowers that change throughout the year, making it perfect for photography and a relaxing stroll. The walking paths are clean and easy to explore, with benches where you can sit and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. There are also small shops and cafes nearby selling local snacks, souvenirs, and ice cream, which is great for a short break while enjoying the scenery. This place is especially stunning on a clear day when Mount Fuji appears in full view behind the flower fields — truly postcard-worthy. Highly recommended for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone visiting the Kawaguchiko area. A must-visit spot if you want one of the best Mount Fuji views in Japan!
Merwin L — Google review
Basically one of the most beautiful places I’ve been in my entire life. We went visit on summer and the lavenders were so pretty. Here you can see the Mount Fuji in its best shape, absolutely gorgeous. I’m so happy because I had added this place to my trip schedule… incredible.
Isadora A — Google review
Oishi Park has long been the go-to viewpoint of Fujisan...and for a good reason. It really does offer a spectacular view of Mt. Fuji as it towers over the landscape. It also offers a decent view of Lake Kawaguchiko. The only downside is the high influx of tourists throughout the day. The place is always crowded. If you are like me who wants to enjoy Mt. Fuji without the hustle and bustle of the park, try biking around Lake Kawaguchiko and you'll find a more peaceful place to bask in the glory of Mt. Fuji. Trust me, there's a lot of perfect spots along the lake. I'd encourage you to discover it yourselves. 😉
Layla P — Google review
Oishi Park exceeded my expectations. The park is extremely well kept, with seasonal flowers blooming everywhere and an unbeatable panoramic view of Mt. Fuji right in front of you. It’s spacious, relaxing, and perfect for taking photos or just enjoying the scenery. Plenty of cafés and shops nearby as well. A wonderful place to unwind—highly recommended!

I visited Oishi Park in Kawaguchiko, and it was a very pleasant experience. The park is well-maintained, clean, and offers a beautiful view of Lake Kawaguchiko with Mt. Fuji in the background. It is one of the best places to enjoy scenery and take photos. The walking paths are easy and comfortable, and the seasonal flowers make the park look colorful and peaceful. There are also small shops and cafes nearby where you can relax and enjoy local products.

Such a beautiful place to see Mount Fuji from the waters edge, behind their flower field and heights from the cafe. It is quite busy here so it does get quite hard to move around but they make up for it with lots of places to take pictures. The ice-cream here is amazing and they have so many flavours to choose from, our favourite being their grape selection! There are also various markets along the way to Oishi park so get off early and check some of them out too!!

Chureito Pagoda, located in Arakurayama Sengen Park, offers an iconic view of Mt. Fuji and is a popular spot for capturing picturesque photos. Accessible via 398 steps, the pagoda stands behind the five-story structure and provides a stunning backdrop of the mountain. While it can get crowded during cherry blossom season and autumn, visiting in February may offer a quieter experience with fewer visitors.
What a special spot! We hiked all the way up to the totally overcrowded main pic spot and then somehow had it in us to keep climbing. So glad we did!! Just a little higher up and there were next to no people and much more space to enjoy the view. Awesome little food trucks and lots of restaurants to explore at the base. There is a great little booth selling pictures and little souvenirs. All cash! I can’t even imagine how beautiful this area is in peak cherry blossoms. We were on the early side of season and nothing was in bloom here yet. Most people seemed like they were there on a tour, they got lucky it was a clear and sunny day. Just the day before was snowing and completely cloudy. We came over for the day from Hakone by taxi which was on the expensive side but so so worth it. We wanted to have the flexibility to come on a clear day and it turned out to be the best move all trip!
Lauren K — Google review
Chureito Pagoda: Great Effort, Small Reward The visit to the Chureito Pagoda is a classic example of excessive effort for an insufficient payoff—unless, of course, you luck out with the perfect day. The frustration begins immediately: an exorbitant parking fee of 1,000 JPY is demanded on almost every street corner, giving the feeling of being squeezed by tourists even before starting the climb. Next comes the exhausting ascent up hundreds of steps. This is a significant physical effort that certainly leaves visitors with high expectations for what awaits them at the top. But to great disappointment, the pagoda itself is not particularly impressive. It's nice, but it hardly justifies the arduous climb. In fact, the entire experience hinges on visibility: If you are lucky enough to have a clear, sunny day where Mount Fuji is revealed in all its glory and perfectly frames the red pagoda, then the picture is worth a million yen, and the effort is justified. However, if you arrive on a hazy, cloudy, or simply low-visibility day, the whole experience turns into a waste of precious time and energy. Bottom Line: It's only worth visiting if you are absolutely certain that the visibility to Mount Fuji's peak will be perfect.
Yariv K — Google review
I went at 5:30am in the morning thinking the crowd wouldn't be so bad. There definitely was a crowd there to see the iconic view of the pagoda and Mt Fuji. But the crowd wasn't too intense. Majority like minded "travellers". Too early for the mainstream tourist and influencer wannabes. The next time I think I would go just before daybreak and watch the sun rise over the majestic mountain. If you're thinking about taking the stairs up, it is a bit of a hike up, so be prepared. Don't be ashamed to have a stop and drink some water. There's a toilet at the top as well. And if you want the trail continue into the mounting going to the other side toward Lake Kawaguchi.

We visited this place during the second week of October 2025. We had booked a Mount Fuji tour on Klook, the guide took us to Oshino Hakkai, Lawson station, Lake Kawaguchigo and this pagoda was our last stop near this area. Our guide said that it would take just 30 minutes to go upstairs for a healthy person. I managed to climb the first 50 steps but my leg started giving up. I even felt nauseous and sat in between for a while. Then I had a sudden rush of adrenaline and started analysing why am I here at Japan if I can’t even climb 500 stairs to goto a viewpoint. Then I slowly started again and took break between every 15/20 steps. My husband whom I had asked to go earlier had already reached the top and made a new friend from Mexico and was talking to him. He was delighted to see that I made it, I was over the moon because I never gave up. The view of Mount Fuji was incredible. On our way back we shared a lot of stories with the Mexican friend. Overall a wholesome experience.

On our trip to Japan, my wife really wanted to see Mount Fuji from this top rated location. Not many people know that there is a dedictaed website that shows visibility level of Mount Fuji and provides hourly updates. We took a bus from Tokyo (Shinjuku station) to Chuodo Shimo Yoshida station and walked to the pagoda to see this stunning view. The walk to the entrance of pagoda is about 20 minute and then up to the pagoda is another 15-20 minute hike but definitely worth it.
Rushi G — Google review
We arrived at 715am on a cloudy October Tuesday morning. The pagoda is surrounded by beautiful forest, the observation deck serves to give you that magic photo with the pagoda and Mt Fuji behind it. We didn’t see the mountain today but it was still a beautiful sight. There is quite a walk to get to the pagoda up stairs or going around a winding path. There were signs warning you about bears (we didn’t see any) and there were hardly any people at this time of day. You can bring your dog for a nice walk too if you like. Parking is available, it seems you must pay for all or most of them but it’s worth it. It’s sad we didn’t get the ‘magic’ shot but it was a peaceful walk in a lovely area.
Kyle W — Google review
Always crowded because of its reputation. If you want to see Mt Fuji without cloud, must come there at 9AM maximum ! A lot of small restaurants around and free toilets (pretty dirty tho). Nice colors and beautiful view on the giant ! Bus line at 10mn !

What can you say, The main reason people come to Fuji. Pictures really don’t do it justice. Simply stunning, Patience needed though and luck plays big part of seeing Fuji. Took us 3 days to get these pictures. Well worth the climb to the top, Which we did 4 times😱

Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato Nenba is a reconstructed traditional Japanese village where visitors can explore old houses and even rent traditional clothing. It offers a glimpse into the countryside of Japan in ancient times. The village is located near Mt. Fuji, providing an iconic view of the sacred mountain from the Chureito Pagoda.
This was a beautiful traditional village with a fantastic view of the mountains. Unfortunately, we went during rainy season so it was very cloudy that day and we were not able to see Mt. Fuji. However, there are still amazing breathtaking views from the top of the traditional village. The people in the village are so kind and the gifts shops have so many unique items. One shop did take card and I bought a few ceramic sake cups with a beautiful design. There were different areas that had historical meaning and plaques to understand the area better. There were a few vendors at the base of the village that only accepted cash but they sold tasty smelling snacks and other treats. I have already made up my mind to come back when its not rainy season and I can see Mt. Fuji.

This is a quaint small museum village, a real experience like taking a trip back in time. We just loved the place. Loved the traditional Japanese old style houses , it’s just amazing to walk around them. Bu the way they have a school inside the village and they teach art and drawing. I was awesome seeing the kids sitting on the Tatami and drawing in a complete silent. Small boutique shops all around the village. To visit you have buy an entrance ticket - 500 Yen. We also took some pictures of Fujisan even it was a quite cloudy day. Please allow approx 2 hours for the visit. A big parking lot is at 150 meters from the entrance.
Robert R — Google review
The ticket is ¥500, but you can get it for ¥450 with a coupon from their official website — such a nice little deal. The parking space is really spacious, so it’s super convenient if you’re coming by car. What I really appreciate is how Muslim-friendly the place is. They have a prayer room, and there are plenty of halal food options too. It felt really thoughtful and inclusive. For those who love collecting stamps, they have one at the information counter — such a cute touch. A calm, welcoming spot that’s perfect for a slow and peaceful day out.

I'm not normally a fan of recreated things as think they are usually realky fake however I didn't get this feeling here. The village is only about 20 years old but is a replica of the old village. Its done really well and amazing to see the thatched work up close. Lots of varied souvenirs at each house plus a few fruit sellers and food stalls at the entrance. Toilets inside too. Plus if youre lucky great views of Fuji. I came here on a bus tour.

Saiko Iyashi-no-Sato Nenba is a reconstructed traditional village that offers a glimpse into rural life at the foot of Mt. Fuji. The original settlement was destroyed by a landslide in 1966, and the site was reopened in 2006 as an open-air museum dedicated to preserving and showcasing Japan’s cultural heritage. The village consists of thatched-roof houses (kayabuki) now used as workshops, galleries, and small shops. Visitors can observe traditional crafts such as silk weaving, pottery, paper-making, natural dyeing, and hand embroidery, or join short hands-on workshops. Some houses display paintings and calligraphy, others sell local food, miso, sake, or handmade souvenirs. Even on a rainy day, the place has a quiet charm — green roofs covered in moss, narrow paths winding between wooden houses, and the soft sound of water flowing nearby. It’s an atmospheric stop that combines nature, craftsmanship, and a sense of peace true to its name: Iyashi-no-Sato, “Healing Village.” Admission: Adults: ¥500

A very beautiful city to walk around, appreciate Mount Fuji, and learn more about Japanese history and culture. Eating some good udon 🍜 is also a must, I guarantee it's delicious there. The view is incredible, especially during the autumn. There's ample parking, but you'll have to walk to see each little house and what it offers 😉

Arakurayama Sengen Park is a picturesque park known for its stunning views of Mount Fuji, a vibrant five-storied pagoda, and seasonal cherry blossoms. The park's iconic landscape has been featured in various media and is a popular spot for capturing the beauty of Japan. With its majestic shrine and breathtaking scenery, it's no wonder that this park is considered one of the best places to view Mount Fuji in the Fuji Five Lakes area.
Gorgeous scenery when you make it all the way up to the outlook area. The walk can be tough, definitely prepare for the weather because you will get extremely hot climbing the 400+ steps up the mountain. Japan humidity is insane. Felt so lucky to see Mount Fuji so clearly on this day.

This was my second time visiting this place. This time, I went by bus with a Japanese co-worker who kindly arranged the transportation for us, allowing us to experience the scenic ride to the area. The location is quite elevated, so I recommend visitors be prepared for some uphill walking. Doing regular physical activities like jogging, walking, or running beforehand can definitely help you handle the climb to the observation deck more comfortably. We visited in June, and the number of tourists was noticeably lower compared to the peak months of March and April, making for a more relaxed experience. There are public toilets and a drinking fountain (faucet-style) available in the area. You might notice warning signs about bears and monkeys, though we didn’t encounter any during our visit. There’s also a small restaurant nearby that serves ramen, karaage (fried chicken), and sells souvenirs. A good spot to rest and enjoy a meal after the climb.

Going up was like hell. I’m not that fit, and those stairs really destroyed me. I had to catch my breath with every step I took. But once I got to the top, the view was absolutely mesmerizing. There was a big cloud covering Mount Fuji at first, so I waited and waited until the sky finally cleared. I’m glad I did, because after putting in all that effort, I didn’t want to just stare at clouds, lol. In the end, I’m really happy I made it up there and got to enjoy such a beautiful view.

I took the most iconic photo of Mt. Fuji in Arakurayama Sengen Park, and a real sense of accomplishment hit me after my eight day trip to Sapporo, Osaka, Nara, and Kobe. Seeing Mt. Fuji in real life felt like the icing on the cake of my Japan trip. Surprisingly, it is not only the view of the pagoda that is amazing. The park itself is stunning, with beautiful autumn leaves. In my opinion, it rivals the autumn colors in Hokkaido. The park can get busy, so it is best to arrive before the tour groups, preferably before 8:00 am. The photo area near the pavilion can be crowded, so do not expect to have it to yourself. From Kawaguchiko Station, take the local train to Shimoyoshida Station, then walk for about ten minutes. The pavilion is accessible after climbing roughly 400 steps. Highly recommended.

Amazing view specially if Mt. Fuji shows during your visit. Always crowded so having a good photo without photo Bomber is hard to get. Note: No Entrance Fee but long hard walk. Not suitable for little ones. You need to climb the 398 stone steps to reach the top of the shrine for better view. Drink lots of water . Perfect time to visit: spring and winter

Iconic view of Mount Fuji and Chureito Pagoda! Arakurayama Sengen Park is breathtaking, especially during cherry blossom season. The iconic view of the red Chureito Pagoda with Mount Fuji in the background is unforgettable and perfect for photography. The park is well-maintained, peaceful, and offers a lovely walk up the stairs with scenic spots along the way. A must-visit for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone wanting the classic Mount Fuji experience!

Early morning visit yo snap some photos of Fuji-San along with the ever popular Instagram snap of having Chureito Pagoda in the foreground and Miunt Fuji at the back. Weather was good this morning. Happy with my snaps. 😊 Note… It’s quite a walk up to the observation deck.

The place itself is of unparalleled beauty. I visited during Autumn and the colours of the Maple Corridor were surreal. The market is like any average tourist trap worldwide. Bad food, sketchy souvenirs, absurd prices. Highly recommended as a stop, once in a lifetime experience

Ide Sake Brewery, in operation for 21 years, stands out for its use of spring water sourced directly from Mount Fuji in the sake brewing process. The brewery offers two daily tours at 9:30 am and 3:00 pm, providing an insightful look into their traditional methods. Visitors can make advance reservations for approximately 500 Japanese Yen per tour.
I went there on a tour. The tours main thing is to show and tell how Sake is made in their brewery. You can even taste 5 different kinds of Sake in the end. You also get a small shot mug which you can take with you as a souvenir. The shop has a wide selection of different Sakes. They got sake bread, sake ice cream, sake candy, an exclusive non pasteurised sake (Only available here!) + many more. Of course, as it's a Sake brewery, its main focus is on making and selling their Sake. The staff speaks English well and understandably. They are very friendly and helpful when needed. You can ask them questions about Sake and as they are the Sake masters, they probably can answer your question. Like many other breweries, this one's also a family business. The tour goes the following way: first, how to make sake, then how they store it, then how they store their whisky, then you'll go outside to visit the garden and last but not least, you'll get inside a "classroom" to learn about different kinds of Sake. Everybody gets 5 shots of different sake, a sake poster which contains information about different kinds of sake, and the mug that you used to take shots with, goes with you. Overall, a nice tour that doesn't disappoint you at all. The location of this place is good, it's close to various hotels + to the local train station. Overall, I have to give this place a 5/5. Excellent work Ide Sake Brewery!

Checked out the Ide Sake Brewery today. I didn't do the tour, only the sake tasting. You buy 5 tokens and you can order 5 separate tasters of Sake. I believe there were 11 to chose from and 1 whiskey. We were fortune that the sun was out, so we sat in the courtyard. The lady working there was brilliant and explained the difference in the sake's and went through the process of making Sake with us. Would love to do the proper tour someday. Check it out if you are around the neighbourhood!

One of the favorite activities that I did in Japan: sake tasting! Everything was delicious. The tour of the brewery should be booked in advance.

This place was amazing!!! Cannot recommend that anyone that is out at Lake Kawaguchi and wants to try some Sake, NEEDS to go here. We were the only people there and it was super beautiful and quiet and the sake was very tasty, we took four bottles home!

An amazing experience - the lady running the shop and your was extremely friendly and spoke amazing English. The sake tasting was phenomenal, we bought loads from the shop after the tour. Would highly recommend for people interested in how sake is made and trying some different types out.

Must visit if you’re in Kawaguchi. Friendly helpful stuff and English speaking. The sake tasting is 825yen for 5 tokens and it’s self service automated. There’s 12 liquor for tasting including a ume wine and whiskey. A chart in English is available to describe each liquor character. The area for sake tasting is so relaxing and nice too. Highly recommended

Sadly we missed the tour due to delays with our flight, but the staff were very kind and helpful with recommendations. We enjoyed a tasting and got some delicious bottles & ceramic sets to take back home. When we told the shopkeeper we were visiting on our honeymoon and were just happy to have made it in time before closing, they gave us a little charm to remember this wonderful experience. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone who loves Sake!

Visited Ide Sake Brewery (井出醸造店) on a Tuesday afternoon. The road leading there is very narrow, so be careful. There’s free parking, but it’s tight and tricky to navigate, especially if you drive a big car like our Alphard, it definitely requires some skill. They offer tours at 3pm, but since we arrived at 1pm, we didn’t join the tour and instead did the sake tasting. It costs about ¥800+ for 5 tokens, and the tasting was good. I especially recommend the Kakoi Special Junmai, limited availability, so I bought one for myself at ¥2,400. The staff were very friendly and spoke excellent English. Fun fact: Lee Hsien Loong has visited here too! Overall, a wonderful experience.

Forest Adventure Fuji is a thrilling outdoor park located in Japan, offering an exhilarating experience for both kids and adults. The park features a variety of obstacle courses set high up in the trees, including activities like swinging, climbing, rope bridges, and tightrope walking. With its playgrounds and courses designed to blend seamlessly with nature, Forest Adventure Fuji aims to minimize impact on the environment. Visitors can enjoy zip-lining and tree-to-tree walking using wires stretched throughout the forest.
A huge ropes park with lots of tracks. You can go up to all tracks over 110 centimeters high. We took routes for 90 minutes and that was enough. You can also rent dirt bikes and do cycling routes of different degrees of difficulty. 30 minutes was enough for us. Beautiful forest all around and you can see the peak of Mt.Fuji

We had a blast! You can even see mount Fuji from the top of the Zipline course!! I recommend booking for 2hrs if you wish to do all the treetop courses. The staff are really nice and helpful. The park is clean and very well maintained.

Brought our 5 years old son there, and he had lots of fun. For kids under 7 years old, they can do the kids course for 45 minutes, and it has zip lines and other obstacles. For older kids or adults, there is a more challenging course, and it covers a lot of areas. Strongly recommend this if you are looking for family fun with the kids!
Derek L — Google review
Super cool! I enjoyed it being self guided so I could go at a fast pace! Luckily it was not busy so we weren't stuck behind too many people. Some of them are super challenging which was absolutely awesome! We did the 90 mins course. Could have easily spent the 2 hrs here but for how hot it was and how tired the challenging courses were the 90 mins was perfect! Staff were super nice and welcoming! Just remember its currently cash only so you will need to bring some with you.

It is better you wear long pants and long sleeves top if possible. A lot of zip-lines and it could be intimidating. But my daredevil son loves the place and is determined to come back when he is older to do all the treks himself. It’s good to know that the kid adventures can only take up to 130cm… and any kids above that can do normal treks but one adult has to accompany. The staff there are really helpful. One of the kids decided to bail after looking at the zip-line, they allow him to drop off. I should have check with that kid in advance.

Really enjoyed a trip here with our kids (11 and 9). We went for the two hour package and just about go to the around everything we wanted to do. Lots of climbing obstacles and long zip wires. The black run on number 11 is short but very, very challenging.

Shimoyoshida Station is a small local station located close to the popular Chureito Pagoda, making it a convenient stop for travelers. The station is well-maintained with helpful staff and accepts IC cards for travel. Nearby, there's a small cafe next to the station and a convenience store across the road with coin lockers. Visitors praise the kind and multilingual staff, cleanliness, and efficient service at this quaint station.
A charming, small railway station in Fujiyoshida, Japan, offering a fantastic view of Mount Fuji. It’s famous for its scenic backdrop, making it a popular spot for photography, especially with the red train passing by. The station itself has a nostalgic feel, adding to its charm. It’s also the gateway to the Chureito Pagoda, a short but steep walk away, where visitors can enjoy one of the most iconic views of Mount Fuji. While the station is simple, its picturesque setting makes it a must-visit for travelers looking for that perfect Fuji shot.

A small but important station for those heading to Arakurayama Sengen Park. Trains to Kawaguchiko or Otsuki do not run frequently, so it's best to check the schedule in advance. A round-trip ticket between Kawaguchiko and this station costs 620 yen as of March 2025. The station can get very crowded, especially during peak tourist seasons. Plan accordingly to avoid long waits.
Ryan G — Google review
The station is small, and I believe this has become one of the significant place for gathering/ marking for tour groups. Managed to enter and got memorable station stamp!

The ShimoYoshida Station in Japan is the place where the iconic Thomas & Friends train is stationed permanently. This station is at the foothills of another iconic natural structure, Mt. Fuji. I visited this station not by train but by a tour bus, in which the station was one of the pitstops way to Mt. Fuji. The station is tiny and adorable. In April 2011 the "Shimo Yoshida Station Blue Train Terrace" was opened adjacent to the station. The station also has a washroom toilet and dustbins called trash cans each for segregated waste. The is also a long bench as the waiting area with a minimalist portrait of Mt. Fuji in the background. Inside the tiny station is also a map and a ticket vending machine. They also have a provision for luggage lockers and if you look at the ceiling inside the station a wonderful sketch is seen. The parking is 300 Yen for cars. Outside the station is a coffee shop adjacent to which also ice-cream vending machines and Mt. Fuji souvenir vending machines. The Shimo Yoshida station was neatly leveled with the main road facilitating easy entry for the differently abled.

Small local station that is closest to Chureito Pagoda, a now widely popular tourist destination approximately 10 minute walk away. Clean, well-kept, helpful staff, and you can use IC cards for travel. A small cafe is next to the station and a small combini with coin lockers is across the road. One hint - access to the Pagoda is a well signposted 10 Min walk away through a lovely domestic setting, but for those planning to take a taxi up to the Pagoda you can't. Walking only. It's quite a climb but is worth the effort.
Cathy E — Google review
If you are visiting the Chureito pagoda near Fuji, you will likely find yourself as this station. If is clean and easy to navigate thanks to a sufficient numbers of signs, and a general lack of many confusing lines, which you may be used to from the cities. A little Japanese goes a long way around here, but it's visited by so many tourists that you'll figure most stuff out even with just English.
Ivo M — Google review
Small but clean stations. And if you have luggage, no worries, you can leave it at the train station or at the luggare lockers in front of the train station. They use only 100 yen coins, but they can help you to change the money too. So it's convenient.
Alexis Y — Google review
A very messy and small station with many tourists but no shops around. This is the gateway to Chureito Churros Pagoda. Around 10 minutes walk to pagoda hill foot. Climb another half an hour. Omg too foggy. Fog fog. No Fuji mountain.

Oike Park is a charming destination that should be on every traveler's itinerary when visiting the Kawaguchiko area. Nestled conveniently in front of the Kawaguchiko Herb Hall, this picturesque park offers stunning views of Mount Fuji and features a delightful promenade along the water. The park is adorned with vibrant lavender flowers and boasts an array of maple and ginkgo trees, making it particularly breathtaking during autumn when the foliage transforms into a kaleidoscope of colors.
Another good spots to get Mount Fuji view or just to stroll along Kawaguchi lake. There are some swans nearby the lake. Boat rental place. There are also some sculpture and benches in the park. More importantly, big parking space and it's free.

Worth a visit only if you are staying nearby. View is nice and it feels very peaceful. However, I wouldn't travel specially to see it as it's quite small. Oishi Park would be better as it has more flowers.

While there are limited amenities such as parking and no benches or restrooms, visitors appreciate the tranquility and natural beauty of the area.
One of my favorite spots. The view is absolutely spectacular. What makes it so great is the peaceful atmosphere, not crowded, quiet, and simply beautiful.

It was well worth the visit, though it required a 5KM walk from Kawaguchiko Station. The sight of Mt. Fuji reflected in the lake was stunning. One of the best parts of walking along the park and lake was the lack of crowds, allowing me to take my own photos freely without feeling self-conscious, especially as a solo traveler. I highly recommend exploring these parks beyond just Oishi Park for a peaceful, quiet experience—simply admiring the pristine beauty of Mt. Fuji.

Everything about this place is was so beautiful. There were tons of different birds to see, and lots of different ways to interact with them and get close to them. A few of the parrots like to say こんにちは! as you walk by. You can feed them and sometimes pay to touch them or let them sit on your shoulders. I especially liked the greenhouse and all of the beautiful blooming flowers hanging from the ceiling and stacked up the walls. Also the employees were all really nice and helpful. 10/5. I can't wait to come back with my friends sometime. :)

Not an expert on birds. But felt many displayed stress like walking in circles, bar biting, rocking. Maybe some birds were rescued and unable to survive in the wild but 100% this place would not be permitted in the UK. My photos show how owls and birds of prey kept in the UK. I'm a guest in Japan and not preaching just saying not for me.

Not necessarily being a huge fan of botanical garden or zoo, my expectation wasn't that high, but it turned out that I ended up liking this place very much. The Ninja Village is nice especially for kids and the staff was brilliant (I saw some families with children and they were having a blast). We were here for lunch as part of an excursion and the food was good, with vegetables available (so, healthy choices possible!). I only think there should be more food for these excursions as there simply wasn’t enough for everyone. Beautiful scenery and views of Mount Fuji!

Fun outing with the kids. When i came here pre Covid, there’s seafood set lunch. Now these’s none, so as muslim we have very very limited choice of food here (not recommended). There’s also an entrance fee of JPY1,800 per adult to enter this place (i deducted a star due to this). The place is clean and beautiful, with a garden overlooking mt fuji. Love that the place is not crowded even during golden week. All the ninjas (staff) were friendly and accomodative when you ask for pictures/ they even volunteer to take your picture.
Ina M — Google review
Such a tourist trap. We stopped here for lunch during a Mount Fuji day trip. The buffet service was poor, with limited options and quantities. By the time I reached the buffet table, even the rice was almost gone. Despite there being two buffet tables, each group was only allowed to use one, which was badly organised. I wouldn’t recommend this place. Also, the toilets didn’t even have soap to wash your hands. The restaurant view was beautiful though.

Ate as part of a bus tour. It was buffet style. The food was mediocre and mostly cold (room temp). The "ninja village" aspect was pretty mediocre too. It looked like there was supposed to be some sort of activities or something in the garden area, but all looked disused and we're empty when we visited.

Fuji Subaruland is a forested park located at the base of Mount Fuji in Yamanashi prefecture, offering numerous outdoor attractions for visitors of all ages. From a miniature golf course with World Heritage Site replicas to a gigantic wooden maze filled with riddles and stamp rallies, there are activities for everyone. The park features a Sky Trampoline, Jumbo Slide, and even a Doggy Park where visitors can rent resident canines by the hour.
I love the way the park is old fashioned but fun. It is clean and the benches are all without a mud or dust. The facilitators are mostly elders and I pity that they need to work still but they are very much able and strong and they look like they having fun too. There aren’t a lot of visitors when we visited so we didn’t have to fall in line at all. The trees are beautiful in autumn.

For a start, do not expect this park to be a Disney or universal studio. Park has its own charms. We had lots of fun at the park. We only had time for one park so chose subaruland over Fuji Q. Turns out to be a wonderful choice! Park looks old but well maintained. Everything is in Japanese but nothing Google translate can't solve. Notable Attractions include a maze, escape room, tower slide, 5 storey maze, mini golf, ATV ride and a trail bicycle ride, all set in a tranquil forest setting. Engaging for kids. While it is true all the attendants are elderly folks, they were dedicated and cheerful. We left the park with my boy wanting more! Will recommend the park to all families with young kids.

Super chill atmosphere for the parents as the kids run and play in the park. Lots to see and do for the kids. The staff were awesome! Very friendly, you can tell that the love what they do. My kids could have stayed in the card maze all day. It was a big hit with them

Park employees are very friendly, they know how to keep kids busy and entertained. I did enjoyed the time spent there.

We visited the park in mid-April. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Both adults and kids enjoyed the activities in the park very much. We had a wonderful time in this beautiful park. It's a hidden gem in Mount Fuji area!

A bit dated but still fun. Friendly stuff but it's quite normal as they charge extra for almost everything you do inside the park (if you don't buy the all inclusive ticket). It has several places with shade which is great in a hot summer day.
Bruno V — Google review
A great mini theme park inside the forest. Lots of small rides and activities for kids. Staff were all very friendly and we had lots of fun.
Derek L — Google review
We had a great time at Fuji Subaru Land! I came with my 4 kids (ages 7, 5, 3, and a baby), and overall it was a fun experience. The 7 and 5-year-olds especially loved the park — there were lots of exciting things for them to explore and play with. For younger kids under 4, there aren’t as many attractions they can enjoy, but it’s still a nice place to walk around and spend time as a family. We visited on a weekday and there was no wait at all, which made everything super easy and stress-free. The park is clean, safe, and very family-friendly. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in the area with kids!

Funatsu Lava Tree Molds, located near the Tainai Shrine at Kawaguchiko Field Center, offer a unique and adventurous experience. Visitors can explore a cave behind the shrine where they may need to crawl on all fours in some parts. The space is relatively small, making it more suitable for children than adults. After paying an admission fee and receiving thorough explanations, visitors can venture into the cave to witness the lava tree molds formed when lava burned away the original trees.
Quite far away from anything else but worth the visit as ultimately means less tourists. I wouldn't recommend attempting the narrowest section if you're unfit or have bad knees, or suffer from any form of claustrophobia. Otherwise it's a very unique experience. We made the mistake of getting a taxi here and figured we'd get a bus back. The taxi cost ¥3800 from the main station in town, and on the return trip the buses only come once an hour. We missed the first one by a couple minutes and the bus we ended up getting was 5 minutes late, which is odd for Japan. Not much reception here so I advise to plan ahead for this. Staff lady at the desk was lovely, she even held into our bags for us at no cost. Her English was limited but she managed to explain the transport system back, with a few laughs along the way.
Kiel ( — Google review
Really recommend visiting these tree molds. One of our highlights in the area. Entry was only 200 yen for adults. There was a lot of great info, most of which was in Japanese but there is free WiFi so you can translate if needed. Amazing piece of natural beauty. Best for those with an interest in science/volcanoes.

Udon noodle restaurant
Hachiman Udon is a cozy restaurant located in a residential area, offering a relaxed dining experience. The simple yet practical interior provides a comfortable setting to enjoy their specialty, Yoshida udon. This type of udon is known for its chewy texture even when cold, making it perfect for mothers who need to eat slowly with their children. The menu features light and refreshing udon dishes at an affordable price.
This shop had very good udon noodles! And what about the ginger rice, yum! We were so full and satisfied for a very reasonable price, plus the lady was very sweet. I recommend highly!

This was what I want! So Yum! reasonable (Yoshida udon is different from Hoto) but that Udon noodle was really good! Not really chewy. The simple style restaurant was not so crowded compare to fancy famous restaurants around there! Careful Yoshida udon the toppings : cabbage and horse meat

Thespongkie — Google review
(Translated by Google) I suddenly had a craving for udon and soba, so I searched around and ended up walking in. Google Maps showed a strangely long route, but I managed to get there and after a short wait, I was seated right away. The udon wasn't anything special, but the combination of wakame, meat, and tempura was delicious. While it's not the most familiar udon to Koreans, I looked it up and found that this is the style of Yonagi-style udon. The staff were very friendly, and they even had an English menu, so it wasn't inconvenient. The tempura seems to sell out quickly, so if possible, try the special. If you're visiting Mount Fuji or Lake Kamaguchi, this is a restaurant worth stopping by.

(Translated by Google) I visited around 1 p.m. on November 3rd. The parking lot was quite spacious. I was really curious about the taste of Yoshida udon, a local specialty. It features a rich, clean miso broth and thick noodles reminiscent of sujebi (traditional Korean dumplings). It has a rustic, mountain village flavor, but it has its own charm. I also enjoyed the wakame and minced meat I chose as a topping. I wanted to try the tempura, but unfortunately, it was sold out. There's a red sauce sold separately, which adds a spicy kick to the broth. I also enjoyed this. There are four sizes available: small, medium, and large. The small size was perfect for women, and the medium size for men. Park
Kawaguchiko Tenjozan Park is a hillside park located next to Kawaguchiko, offering a hiking course, a ropeway, and an observation area with stunning views of Mt. Fuji. Visitors can take the Tianshangshan cable car directly up to the park and then explore the panoramic scenery overlooking Lake Kawaguchi and Fujikyu Paradise. The park also features famous production shops selling Mount Fuji goods and a shrine to visit.
Loved it! This is a must visit if you come here to see Mt Fuji 🗻 The place is accessible via little cable cars. There's a couple view points, a giant swing with the mountain in front for pictures. Many hiking trails that go up and down the mountain, though some of them may or may not be open depending on the time of year or weather.

This mountain features a beautiful observation deck that’s easily accessible by cable car, or you can hike up the stairs if you're feeling adventurous. Along the hiking trail, there are benches to rest and a scenic plateau offering stunning views of Mt. Fuji and the town of Fujiyoshida. At the top, the viewing platform provides an even more impressive panorama of Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi. There’s also a small restaurant and a shop where you can grab a bite or pick up souvenirs.
S N — Google review
It’s a tiny park at the summit of a nearby small mountain. It offers refreshments, toilets, souvenirs and unbeatable view of Mt Fuji, if you’re someone who subscribes to the idea that it actually exists. I’ve never seen it without the cloud coverage so I’m quite convinced that it’s photoshopped onto all these pictures you see online. ;)
Blazej K — Google review
This is the best viewing spot for Mt Fuji hands down. I was very fortunate in that Mt Fuji was in clear view this day. But it’s much better than the Lawson’s photo spot. Take the ropeway to get to this park which is pretty cheap and honestly you can take a 1 way ticket then walk down the mountain on the trail (20mins). The trail was easy and simple and had more views of the mountain. Be warned there are no lights and it can be slippery so use caution if late in the day or if it rained recently. Another warning is it gets very very crowded so go early, otherwise you will struggle to get photos and wait in long lines for all the spots. I skipped the swings so I can’t comment as it didn’t look worth the wait to me. The swings didn’t have a forced timer it seemed and the line wasn’t moving. However up the hill from the swings there is a better platform for photos. It’s a metal tower you can climb for great photos solo or group.
Justin C — Google review
Amazing views of Mount Fuji on the crystal clear morning of our visit! We started our visit with the ropeway to the park as it was near our hotel. We loved it! The shop and cafe were good, though crowded. They had seasonal soft serve grape flavor.
Emily E — Google review
A "must stop" if you come to observe the Fujiyama to this lake. The queue can be a bit long depending when you come, but the views are absolutely worth it. The rail cars are great and well organised, on top you have food, souvenir shops, toilets, and many viewpoints where take photos.
Juan B — Google review
Kawaguchiko Tenjozan Park — often referred to simply as Kachikachi-yama Ropeway area — is one of the most popular spots for panoramic views and photos of Mount Fuji. It’s especially famous for its scenic observation deck, which can be easily accessed by ropeway, making it very friendly for elderly visitors or those with limited mobility. That said, it gets extremely crowded. Even on regular weekdays, it’s common to wait over an hour in line for the ropeway. Arriving early in the day is highly recommended to avoid the long queues. From the top, the view of Mount Fuji is absolutely breathtaking. On clear days, even a smartphone can capture the snow-covered peak and mountain trails in amazing detail. This spot is a must-visit photo stop for anyone touring the Fuji area.

The restaurant's Hawaiian-themed decor creates an inviting atmosphere, complete with delightful background music.
I went to this restaurant with my friends yesterday evening, and even though we were seven and arrived a little before the last order time, the food was brought swiftly. The restaurant is really nice and the atmosphere is great, it feels like Hawaii! Also the staff is very kind. I personally ordered the Loco Moco, which was delicious. My friends ordered many different things from pastas with shrimp and avocado to Benedict eggs and they all liked it a lot ! The dressings were beautiful, there really is an attention to detail. If I ever get a chance to come back to Fujiyoshida I'll make sure to eat here again and It's a restaurant I'd recommend to anyone.

As for service, they stayed open far past closing time for me and my friend and another group dining there as well, which was amazing. On top of that, when I realized I didn’t have enough cash to pay (because my card wouldn’t work with their machine) they let me go to the nearest conbini to get cash while my friend stayed at the restaurant, and were extremely nice about it the whole time. Also very friendly and willing to talk otherwise. The food was great, tasted amazing and was exactly what you expected from the menu, we got pasta, karaage and pizza and they were great. Unfortunately there was no salt available, but I bet they would give you some if you asked.

Cute, touristy, probably much better when it's not cloudy. I was particularly disappointed that more than half of the grounds were dug up soil with no flower beds. We went during the week so it was quiet with not a lot of people. They must use this time to prepare for the next season. Understandable, but strange since they are advertising the season in flyers at local shops. We visited October 10th, three days before the supposed end of season, and it was, unfortunately, underwhelming. I can see it being great under the right circumstances, but it was only okay for us for our visit.

Approx. ¥1,500 /adult Some Discount for some people check HP for yourself,… It opens around six, if you are along the road to the park right on season after 8:00 than 1km may take 20mins or more From Tokyo even in GW, if you know the local road than Max 3hrs but if you take wrong turn may take 5hrs to get there.. Many of visitors including us never ate breakfast still enjoyable & excited forgot about hunger… Not in “Don’t enter” part but inside Peter Rabbit area on glassy ground you can sit & eat your lunch box too.. This is a great visitor center to learn about the history of Fuji! There’s written (in English) stories of the myths around the mountain, the cultural significance, the religious aspects, and lots of other stuff. There’s a gift shop inside with shirts, keychains, magnets, drinking glasses, towels, kimonos, and other bits. They do take card and cash. There’s also a machine for the souvenir coins plus a crushed coin machine. (Bring 100 and 500 yen coins for those.) There’s an okay view of Fuji from the second floor along with a cafe. We had no problems parking and it’s a free visit. Also, there’s bathrooms but no trash service.

Well designed centre with an excellent 10-minute introduction video of Mt Fuji. Had no idea that present day Mt Fuji was actually built on several older, smaller volcanoes. Plan to spend 60-90 minutes here as the exhibits are informative and interesting. Made a last minute decision before leaving Kawaguchiko to visit the centre and ended up spending more time here than we expected.

We walked the 20 mins from the main station here to explore this great centre. Beautifully presented information on the region, Fuji-san and the hike so many take to reach the top! The VR experience was great too. Free entry.

It is free to enter. You might need to pay if it was a part of a tour with a guide. You can see a lot of the pictures, learn the history, and many more about Mt. Fuji. A small cafe is upstairs. A nice souvenir shop is downstairs.

With free admission, the incredibly comprehensive and informative center with a observation deck view of Mt Fuji is a must see. We loved the film and 360 projection onto the scaled reconstruction of Mt. Fuji. There was almost no one when we went, which surprised us given how much we enjoyed!

Bit of a strange spot. Viewing platform is lacking a good view, but info centre is decent. Cafe is very slow, so don’t be in a hurry and order a coffee. Nice enough first spot for a quick break, but there’s better views to be had elsewhere. It’s really an information Centre and refreshment break than a first, best view of the mountain.
