When in Banff and you want a nice night out. I can’t recommend this place enough. The ambience is lovely. The patio is so warm with the table fires, the inside is modern yet still has that rustic Banff feel. The food was incredible. All steaks are cooked on a wood fired grille. Our host Patrick was incredibly friendly, attentive, and gave great recommendations. A reservation is probably needed, especially on weekends.

Walked in on a busy evening and the staff were very kind to seat us - expected an hour wait for the kitchen but it was worth the wait!
The steak was cooked to perfection (medium rare)! And extremely tasty.
The vegan risotto was a delightful surprise and we aren’t vegans and it was so flavourful and well textured that we could not tell that it has no cheese in it! Would happily order it as a main again!
Broccolini was well grilled and generous!

Lovely spot for breakfast/brunch, and delicious food! We got the eggs benedict and the mountain breakfast, both which were great. Honestly, the sourdough bread was superb (I would go back for this alone, haha) The sausage was a little different than I was expecting (texture/toughness); however, nonetheless, was still a great breakfast overall. My partner stated these were the best egg benedict he's had on the trip - we kept ordering them. The atmosphere is charming, and felt super cozy on a brisk day in Banff. Would absolutely come here again and recommend to everyone!
We stopped in here for a brunch and wow, we got the brunch of our dreams! We got the soufflé pancakes, omelette, farmer’s breakfast, double cheeseburger and the eggs Benedict. I highly recommend adding wild mushrooms to the eggs Benedict - it made it the best eggs Benedict I’ve ever had! The double cheeseburger was smash burger style and the omelette was fluffy. The crispy hashbrown sticks were so unique. We were all super satisfied and the service was incredible!
We totally enjoyed a dinner of a lifetime at the Bluebird. It was so tasty and so delicious … honestly❤️ I don’t usually post reviews but we were so overwhelmed with this place starting with our server Reuben who was top notch and made us feel that we’ve been friends forever. He truly made our anniversary date night memorable. We enjoyed the steak with side dishes and truly it was the tastiest meal ever. The wine was enjoyable too lol. Thank you Bluebird ❤️
We were placed sitting on the lesser side of the restaurant and the fire place side was reserved for the nicer dressed people. Server spilled coffee on the mug and table, saw it, didn't even bother to say sorry or clean it up. Had to clean myself. After that I asked for a clean napkin, still didn't say anything and it took a while to receive a clean napkin, but it did came before our breakfast. We also don't eat pork. Asking for a substitute, they say they have nothing.. like how? Add some extra patatoes, or a pancake, salad, anything, can't think of a substitute? That was really not service friendly. The portions are small and way too expensive for what you get. Pancakes were nice, but were more like a mix of pound cake and pancake kind of thing, not pancakes as we know them. The location is however great, nice historic building, great history.
This restaurant is amazing! From the service to the food, it was an 8/10 experience. Our server was incredibly thoughtful and made sure our large group of family and friends was well taken care of and enjoying the meal.
The food was fantastic flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. The ambience is also a standout; I loved the warm, cozy decor which made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
I would definitely recommend Bluebird Woodfired Steakhouse and look forward to coming back again!
REALLY wanted to love this place. Wanted to eat a steak and have a fine dining experience. THAT did not happen. Three people ordered steaks and they were terribly over cooked (see pictures). Service was wanting and the cooks do not take any suggestions. Don’t try to send your food back, they will rebuke it. The cheese sauce was good but heavy. The halibut was delicious. Go somewhere else to spend $60+ per person.

Dave was our server and he was an absolute hoot! Super sweet and just so friendly and hilarious. You can tell he loves his job!
The food- wow, what a fun way to eat. We cooked everything on the hot plate and it’s just nice to be able to make your food the way you like it! The garlic butter we kept slathering on just makes it over the top good, of course!
We did the complete set, the starter soup was DAMN good (chicken tortellini soup) and I had the beef and lobster and my boyfriend went with the Alberta special (?), it came with beef, bison, elk, & venison. Really great one to try it all! We ended the meal with a lovely chocolate fondue made of Belgium chocolate. So indulgent and a 10/10 experience. It was both of our favorite meal of the trip!

4 course fondue was both tasty good value! Large place, low lighting, cool decor inside and cooking your own meat on the stone was a fun experience kind of dinner. Great service and got in on a walk-in at 7pm on a Sunday.
This was our most anticipated (and most expensive) meal during our trip to Banff, and it didn’t disappoint! We came for their four-course dinner, which includes a starter (soup or salad), cheese fondue, a main course with different meats, and a chocolate fondue for dessert.
We were off to a good start with the soup and salad, both were really good.
Next was our first time trying cheese fondue and it was such a fun experience. The bread portion was super generous and the cheese was rich and tasty
For the mains, we got the Original Fondue Dinner that contained beef and chicken and the Exotic Fondue Dinner, which came with some very unique meats. It was a cool chance to try things we’ve never had before. Our favourite of the night was actually the alligator, which tasted like a mix between chicken and fish. There’s also a handful of sauces to choose from that will cater to lots of different palates.
We finished off with the chocolate fondue, and of course you can’t go wrong with chocolate and fruit.
Overall, we had a great time here. It’s definitely pricey, but worth it if you want to try something different while in Banff. The restaurant was pretty dark (we had to use our flashlight to read the menu), but our server was super friendly and made the whole experience great.
Our dinner lasted almost two hours but was enjoyable all the way through. I highly recommend booking a reservation as we heard from the works they were booked out for the entire night.
We were in between tour stops and ran into this gem. They just opened and the server was very accommodating! I had the seafood stone grill (unofficial name on menu lol) and bison meatball I think and both were so delish I could not believe we were served quick we didn’t miss our bus and our tummies were happy! Missed trying their fondue but everything was fantastic. We sat inside but their outdoor seating have heaters I believe!
I’ve walked past Grizzly House so many times while visiting Banff, and I’m really glad we finally decided to check it out! We went on a Saturday evening, and luckily we had a reservation, this place gets busy, and I can see why.
The vibe is super quirky and fun. The whole restaurant kind of feels like a time capsule, with cool decor and music that totally adds to the experience. It’s not your typical dinner spot, and that’s what makes it special.
We went for the fondue experience and got to try some really interesting meats we’d never had before, definitely a culinary adventure. Cooking everything right at the table made the meal feel interactive and memorable.
The staff were awesome too—friendly, helpful, and super patient with all our questions. And I have to mention the chocolate fondue at the end… seriously, it was next-level delicious.
If you're in Banff and want something different (and fun!), I’d absolutely recommend giving Grizzly House a try. It’s a great mix of tasty food, unique atmosphere, and genuinely great service. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town!
It is definitely a once in a lifetime experience. My friends wanted to try this restaurant, and I am glad they did. I was introduced to swiss style stone grilling with Canadian meats; Elk, Bison, and Alberta beef. The swiss cheese fondue with wine was too strong for my taste. The dessert Belgian chocolate fondue was the best I ever had! The whole meal experience last 2 hours and a half.
I really want to thank the server for changing our seats to better ones after the first request so the experience wasn't ruined.
Five stars for food and atmosphere- however, 4 stars for the service due to the unpleasant gentleman who took the reservation over the phone. He was very short with me and not very polite.
The service once we arrived at the restaurant was fantastic. Our waiter checked in with us about drinks after each course was served and made sure we had enough bread, garlic butter and a hot enough rock for our food. Great pacing between courses as well. Enough time to let the food settle before eating more.
The food was awesome! The chicken tortellini soup was a stand out for us. Beautifully spiced with large chunks of chicken.
The cheese fondue was a little heavy on the wine to start, however, after it boiled down a bit the flavour became less strong which we enjoyed. And yes, the bread was dry by itself but it is meant to be dipped in the cheese, and once you do that, it becomes perfect.
We loved the hot rock! We all went for beef and seafood options which were amazing with the assortment of dipping sauces they provide. Our server even put the little cup of garlic butter on the hot rock so it could melt and we could dip our seafood in it.
The chocolate fondue was a hit as well. Great assortment of fruits and wafers to dip.
We got the mango margaritas, Long Island iced teas, and Cesar’s. Reasonably priced for the strength of the drinks. We will be coming back next time we are in town.
This is an iconic Banff hotspot for a reason- their 4 course fondue dinner is delicious, filling, reasonably priced and a whole experience in itself! I am docking 1 star because you WILL reek of oil/meat afterwards because it seeps into your hair and whatever you’re wearing. Also the phones don’t work anymore which is half the fun of the place 👎

This was honestly one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Canada, and without a doubt it served the best bison burger I have ever had. The burger was perfectly cooked, juicy, and flavorful, with that unique richness you only get from bison meat. It was truly outstanding and absolutely worth the visit on its own.
The restaurant also has its own line of alcoholic drinks, including gin and vodka, which I found really impressive. The gin had a pleasant bitterness balanced with fruity notes, which made it refreshing and unique. Along with that, we enjoyed a well-prepared salad, tasty beer, and a memorable pepper soup made with their vodka that stood out as something special.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is another highlight. It has a vibrant yet comfortable vibe that makes the experience even more enjoyable. We were seated on the patio, which had a lively and welcoming energy. Unfortunately, the inside was full and we couldn’t get a table indoors because the restaurant was very busy.
My recommendation: if you plan to visit, make sure you reserve in advance. It’s absolutely worth it. For me, this place was a top dining experience and I would call it one of the very best restaurants I’ve tried in Canada.

Make a reservation if you have a group bigger than 5. We had 8. Food was delicious. Reasonably priced for Banff. It was busy. A bit squishy to get around, as you are pretty close to the other tables. Sauces were fresh. Service a little slow as it was so busy! Loud, but it adds character to the atmosphere of the distillery. Bathrooms could be a tad cleaner. Overall, I enjoyed it immensely. This was my last time traveling to Banff. It is so overcrowded. No parking available. I like little stress as possible, and the town was insane. Too busy for me and the family.
Came here twice during our visit to Banff, we came back the second time not only because it was a neat environment however the staff was very friendly! It was truly a good experience and consistent both times! Came here the first night for drinks and the bartenders were very personable and friendly! The drinks were good too, so all around we had an excellent experience. Then on Sunday we got engaged and came here for dinner after our lake tours and had another good experience! The food was excellent, yet again the drinks were good and the environment great! They distill and make spirits here and it’s just a cool spot! We throughly enjoyed this place and the bartender gave us a celebratory shot after hearing of our engagement! We will be back during our next visit and know it’ll be the same!!! Thank you
Food was good. The bbq sauce is amazing. Had the gnocci and was good but not enough. Also had the rotisserie chicken and the gravy was cold. Drinks were half price in happy hour and good. Live entertainment also really nice
Amazing vibes! Such a cool place to go for a quick sit down with appys and omg you have to try the hard root beer 10/10 new favourite cocktail! The hot spinach dip was so creamy and yummy and our waitress J.A. Was amazing. She remembered us and made sure we felt right at home! Thank you for the amazing experience. Food so good we went twice while on vacation! This is a great lowkey spot with excellent house made spirits. Lunch special was totally worth it and the cornbread appetizer is really as good as everyone says. Great atmosphere, location and service!
My girlfriend and I stopped at park for lunch with the dogs. We were seated out in the patio right away. Our waiter Sam was fantastic. We split the meat platter and there was nothing left really good. The observation peak cocktail which I had was fantastic very Smokey and smooth! Definitely a great spot to sit relax with a drink and people watch

This was one of those very special dining experiences that we'll talk about for quite some time.
The food was absolutely extraordinary. Our server was really wonderful and took great care of us. The atmosphere was great.
We tried many of the different foods and then shared dessert and it was absolutely perfect
I had the braised bison short rib and keep remembering how good it taste it.
I had the cucumber salad but forgot to take a picture of it, it was really really wonderful.

We have dined here several times over the years and am so happy to have made it back as they have not missed a step at any point and remain our favorite place for fine dining here n town. Simply yum. A thoughtful menu that changes over time for new surprises to discover, with a solid wine menu to pair as u prefer. I love the authentic Caesar and the duck was absolutely divine w the added twist of the confit and that savory yet oh so light broth. Service was top notch once again. Reservations recommended for sure. Enjoy, explore, enjoy some more.
This was our second trip to The Bison and it was just as phenomenal as our first experience two years ago! We absolutely loved the bison short rib and duck during our first visit but wanted to try something new this time. We thoroughly enjoyed the Caesar salad, steak frites and crispy fried chicken!! The flavors along with the textures and contrast was on point! We loved our server, Maria! Thanks for taking such good care of us! Lastly, all of the drinks we have tried (cocktails and wine) have been fantastic too. We will be sure to come back for round 3 the next time we visit Banff!
We managed a last minute reservation for a party of three. We'd been hiking (scruffy but not smelly or covered in mud) and the dining room was upscale but relaxed so we didn't feel out of place. We ordered the Bison Tartar, Venison Steak, Duck, and Spare Ribs... Maybe one of the best meals of my life! I especially loved the venison and I usually hate it. The waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend this place to anyone interested and will definitely be going back
The Bison Restaurant in Banff absolutely exceeded our expectations! From the moment we walked in, the warm rustic atmosphere and mountain views set the perfect tone for dinner. The service was outstanding — friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu.
We tried the bison tomahawk, and it was phenomenal — perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of rich, smoky flavor. Every dish was beautifully presented and made with fresh, local ingredients.

I love the presentation of our dinner, however, I found the appetizer is quite unbalance. It is overly seasoned that masked the flavor of the main ingredients.
We requested outdoor seating because we had our dog with us. Sadly, it is extremely cold- no heater or whatsoever, which is strange!
So i would suggest against it. The food is good but not exceptionally good, hence, 4 stars since I think it is overpriced.

The Bison was, far and away, the best meal we had in the Banff area. Every dish we ordered was superb, but the bison tartare was for sure the standout.
The grapefruit cocktail also was one of the better cocktails we've had in a really long time.
The tomato tarts were perfect, and so was the burrata. The staff were super friendly and charming, and made the whole experience wonderful.

Nestled on the second floor of a charming building on Main Street in downtown Banff, Chuck's Steakhouse is a delightful blend of sophistication and casual comfort. This eatery boasts stunning views of Banff Avenue while serving up an impressive selection of locally sourced steaks, including grass-fed Wagyu and prime beef from Alberta’s Cowboy Trail. Each cut is expertly dry-aged in-house and grilled over mesquite wood before being finished with herbs and butter for that perfect flavor.
Our experience at Chuck’s was truly outstanding. We ordered the seasonal surf and turf, which was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The sides—macaroni and cheese and asparagus—were just as impressive. I’ll admit, I was skeptical about the honey in the mac and cheese, so we asked for it on the side. But wow—what a surprise! The touch of sweetness paired so well with the richness of the dish. I never would’ve thought to try it, but now I’m a fan. Great food, great service—Chuck’s is definitely worth the visit.

Not a bad steakhouse but what I ordered didn't surprise me. The "Alberta steaks" that are a main selling point at a lot of restaurants in the area including this one just have not impressed me and I don't think they are worth the money. The peppercorn sauce I got as well wasn't that impressive either as I have had better peppercorn sauces from other places. Overall not bad for a nice meal but don't expect to be wowed.

Me and my wife wanted to spend our anniversary at a nice steakhouse and we did not go wrong with Chucks. Made a reservation and we arived 15 mins early and they got us a seat right away. In no time Jess, our server, was there with a smile on her face. She was the absolute best, very friendly, helpful and prompt. After we ordered, the food was on our table in no time and it was exceptional. The Wagyu tenderlion was the best steak we have ever eaten and was cooked to perfection. The sides were portioned well and tasted excellent. There was a good selection of alcohol and Jess was very fast at getting our drinks to us and refilling our water without even asking. After the meal they even offered a desert on the house for our occasion. The whole experience was amazing and very relaxing. Not rushed at all. We would recommend everyone to try the steaks here and to go to Chuck's if ever given the oppurtunity.
Had an incredible experience at Chuck’s! They had a special on that included an appetizer, steak, three sides, and dessert, which was an amazing value for the quality and portions. We also ordered the tableside Caesar and mushrooms, plus a bottle of wine. The steak was absolutely amazing, perfectly cooked, flavorful, and easily one of the I’ve had. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxed dinner after a day in the mountains. Service was attentive and friendly without being overbearing. Overall, a fantastic dining experience, I highly recommend for anyone craving a great steak in a warm, welcoming setting.
It’s not easy to make our family feel satisfied at same time. 2 kids, 2 seniors and we couple.
Actually we go to the Maple Leaf at first. The lady at front desk refused me not only by her words but also by her attitude-no eye contact while refusing.
We are lucky to turn to Chuck’s. The lady at front desk here did not answer us very quickly. She checked then let us in. Everything is just right.
I have to say, kids menu really shocked me. So good quality and so big portions! Amazing!
Prime ribeye has a little bit more fat for us. The original beef flavour is excellent even without black pepper and salt. If you don’t like too much seaning or sauce, this could be a good option.
For my parents, I chose beef rib as suggested. True tender, easy for seniors. They like the sauce flavour.
Charred broccoli is much better than in other restaurants. It’s another surprise.
While we are having dinner, our waitress (sorry I didn’t ask her name) forget our drinks. When we got the bill, this part is free for us. I like their work style. Humble, amiable, facing problems directly and taking the initiative to assume responsibilities.
A truly worthy restaurant!
We had dinner at Chuck’s our last night in Banff after several people recommended it. It did not disappoint! Chucks was the best meal we had our entire trip. From the minute we walked in we were treated like royalty. We had just gotten married and they made a point to acknowledge that with complimentary bubbles and over the top service.
Our server Tommy was incredible! He was the best server we have had at any restaurant and we travel a lot. He recommended an amazing Canadian wine and made the experience memorable.
We got the burrata, table side Caesar, and the Ribeye-all not to be missed! Also the banana cream pie was one of the best desserts we have ever had!
We had dinner at the highly recommended 1888 chophouse the night prior to this and there was no comparison. We would come back to Chuck’s over and over!

Super happy with my experience at Chucks! A beautiful view and the beef was unreal, we ordered the prime sirloin and prime rib as suggested by the waiter. We also got 3 sides, French fries, broccolini and mushrooms. I would say mushrooms were the least favorite, expected more flavour as it’s was just cooked in butter. Highly recommend!!

Incredible place all around. Staff was absolutely wonderful the server took time out to play with the baby and even provided some fun toys for him. She made expert recommendations based on what she noticed we enjoyed. A fair bit of the meat options were halal and perfectly cooked. The flavors worked so well and every single thing was delicious. I’ve already been twice in less than 6 months and I don’t even live in the province. Every time I am in Banff, I will go back to the Balkan 👏
Enjoyed our early dinner experience here a lot.got the fig &thyme mule mocktail, beet dip with pita as an app, and lamb skewers as my main. The meat was so succulent with interesting spices. The servers were very attentive and I felt the cost was reasonable.
While visiting Banff, we decided to have lunch in this Mediterranean Restaurant. They are busy during midday. We ordered their Kalamari, Fries, Lamb Souvlaki, Lamb Chop, and Linguini Santorini. The spices and herbs are on point! I can taste the flavours soaked into the meat. Their pasta is also good. The portion is very generous amd service was quick.
This was my first trip to Banff, and after going through lots of options and discussions, we decided to stop by Balkan Banff — and I’m so glad we did! As soon as we walked in, we were amazed by the beautiful and aesthetic ambience. The vibe of the restaurant is just stunning.
We tried their platter and cocktails — both were absolutely amazing and truly must-try items! The flavors and presentation completely blew us away. I would especially recommend going for lunch.

Me and my friends did a quick day trip to Banff, and stumbled upon what I can only describe as a foodie side quest reward: this hidden gem in Banff! 🎉
We started with the loaded fries and the duo dip combo (beetroot hummus + tzatziki = the dream team). Honestly, I would’ve been fine just living off that… but no, our stomachs had other plans.
For mains we went all in: Alberta beef platter (chef’s kiss 👌), roasted chicken (juicy enough to bring a tear to your eye), edamame falafel (surprisingly life-changing), and the lamb wrap (like a warm hug in food form). Everything arrived hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious.
The staff? Super friendly—like, “should we be best friends now?” friendly. Bonus points: lots of halal options, so everyone in our group left happy and full. 🙌
The only plot twist? The chili pineapple drink. Imagine being betrayed by fruit. 🍍🌶️💔 Wouldn’t recommend.
Overall: highly recommend to friends, family, strangers, your mailman, and maybe even your enemies (so they’ll be too full and happy to bug you).

We asked if there were any coloring activities for the kids — they didn’t have anything prepared, but they brought us blank paper and pens, which was a nice touch. Highly recommended!

Came here for our anniversary dinner yesterday and it was lovely. All the food was cooked to perfection and our server Cam was awesome. He was very easy going and knew the menu inside out so he answered all of our questions confidently. I couldn’t have asked for a better place. Would definitely come again on our next visit.
Oh and the crab gratin dip is to die for. So good!
We had a really nice brunch here. We'd spotted the restaurant the morning before whilst exploring the town centre and weren't disappointed with our visit. Due to roadworks going on the main entrance wasnt accessible but there were clear signs directing us how to access the lift and alternative entrance where we had a cheery welcome from the staff and got spoilt rotten by Nisha who served us.
We both had Eggs Benedict (Mine with Canadian Bacon and my Partners with Smoked Salmon which came with Hash potatoes. Nisha also helpfully pointed out to us that we could have them with a mimosa for the same price. We didn't need to be told twice so we had one with Passion fruit and the other with grapefruit. Options I've never tried before but most definitely will in the future.
All throughout our meal Nisha an her colleague (whose name we didn't get, sorry!) who had welcomed us checked up on us and refreshed our coffee mugs and water. Nisha also gave us tips on visiting Tunnel Mountain where we were headed off to for our hike afterwards. Altogether a lovely meal experience. Thanks guys!
The atmosphere was good and service was fast. We ordered duck wings, cowboy steak, tenderloin and gnocchi. I liked the wings and cowboy steak! The steak was tender and juicy. The wings were savory! The only thing I didn't like was the gnocchi. It was too dry and I didn't feel any potatoes at all. It was like flour balls.
We celebrated my partner’s birthday here and had such a lovely experience. The staff were warm and welcoming, and they even surprised us a complimentary dessert for the birthday celebrant—which was absolutely delicious and such a thoughtful touch.

It offers the best steak in Bnnf. My tour guide he recommended me to have a try. The steak was pretty delicious, making me enjoyed whole things on the plate. Besides, it has friendly services. I ordered their best and the most famous one which is 91 dollars.
We had lunch and dinner (within a couple days of wach other) here. Food was great. Service was good and the atmosphere was okay. Although we were at window seats, our view was of construction on the street. It is obviously not their fault, but it contributed to our experience, especially as we were on vacation. The food however, brought us back!
Came here for a quick lunch. I had the duck with orange sauce and maple syrup — my god, the sweetest thing I’ve ever tasted, and the duck itself wasn’t great (plus no sides). My girlfriend’s chicken burger, on the other hand, was really good — a bit spicy but delicious. Service was fine.

We came here for lunch on a weekday around 1 PM, and the place still had plenty of seats, which was nice.
I ordered the Prime Rib Benny and it was so delicious! Instead of the usual English muffin, they used Yorkshire pudding, which had a slightly crispy shell and a fluffy, buttery inside. The beef was juicy and soaked into the pudding, and with the runny egg yolk on top, everything just came together perfectly🤤 I asked for the shredded potatoes to be crispy, and they came out golden and crunchy, exactly how I like them.
My partner got the fish and chips, and we were both really surprised by how big the fish was. It was a whole fillet, nicely fried, and the inside was still moist and soft, not dry at all. Definitely something we’d recommend.
The staff were friendly, and the prices felt pretty reasonable for the portion sizes and quality.

We've been here many times over the years. We know all the food is top notch, the food prices and portions are the best. Our waiter was amazing as well. Its a busy spot but the food comes out quite quickly.
Apparently they have the best French onion soup, I never tried it was it was a rave at our table. And those ribs on the appetizer menu are HUGE! We definitely will be coming back

We had a window seat with a stunning mountain view, which was honestly one of the highlights of the visit.
The food was solid. The hash browns were tasty and crispy, and the sausage was okay — not bad, just a bit mediocre compared to everything else. The scrambled eggs, though, were a bit of a mixed bag for me. They were dense, a little gelatinous, and had a strange texture that threw me off. Not terrible, but not my favorite.
Overall, I’d still call it an above-average breakfast spot. The service, view, and atmosphere were fantastic, and most of the food was delicious. I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 just because the meal wasn’t quite exceptional, but I’d still recommend it if you’re in Banff!
Was our last night for dinner out visiting, and thought a good steak house would hit the spot. It did but I wasn't blown away to be honest. It wasn't bad at all so please dont think im saying that. it was just good not amazing great. Service from tosh was awesome. The reason I gave 4 stars is mashed potatoes seem like something from school cafeteria steak was cooked perfectly but didn't have much flavor, still tender though. The spaghetti squash was delicious. This is Just the experience we received .

Nice spot for lunch. Service is good and food is great. Came by between 2-3pm so there was not a long wait between orders. I had the buffalo starter, steak and chips main and the brownie for dessert. Worth a visit!
The steak was delicious, with just the right tenderness that even the kids enjoyed. The side dishes were also very flavorful. The pork ribs were prepared by frying, and adding a bit of lemon juice for seasoning was just right perfect to go with a glass of beer. The lobster was also well-prepared. Next time I’d like to go back and try their brunch.

Me and my friends spent great time there. Our server was also really good and she had good recommendations for us sadly I don't remember her name now. But overall it was an amazing experience.

Great spot for pizzas and pints. We prefer sitting at the bar to better explore the ample bier offerings w the help of the friendly and knowledgeable bar keeps. The salad I had(see pic) had a delightfully light and zesty dressing, not overdone at all. The pepperoni they use is definitely a spicy blend which I prefer and cuts well w the salty cheesiness. The margherita pizza was nice but I really prefer more of the fresh sweet Italian basil w it to pair w the acidity and spice of the red sauce, but that’s just me. Glad we dropped in once again to enjoy the warm and lively atmosphere.
A very nice eatery in Banff, that has a great patio and as with a lot of restaurants in town, is also pet friendly. The staff was very accommodating and patient with our party of eight plus dog. The pizza and wings were great, though the Cubano was a bit too sauce heavy unfortunately, though still tasty. Overall an excellent experience.
Ended up coming twice during our trip to Banff because the pizza was so delicious and the vibes were perfect for after a long day of hiking. In our two trips we had the pepperoni pizza, elk pizza, and pineapple pizza all of which were fantastic. We also shared a French onion soup and the shrimp Bao; the shrimp Bao were very yummy but portions were a bit tiny for the price. The special beer was a boisenberry variant which had a lovely tang and acidity. Also tried the maple old fashioned which was very much on the sweeter side. Highly recommend!
We were able to eat at the bar with no reservation on a Friday night. Our bartender was super welcoming and offered great suggestions. We had two pizzas, but easily could have shared one. The unique chili oil and honey dipping sauce is amazing!! Great pizza choice if you are in Banff!
The restaurant is modern and beautifully designed, perfectly fitting Banff’s mountain theme. There are several seating areas across multiple floors, both indoors and outdoors. The atmosphere is inviting, relaxed, and full of local character.
The service was very friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious, clearly made with quality ingredients. We ordered the elk pizza — creative and well-prepared. Personally, I might choose a different one next time, only because the elk flavor was subtle, more of a hearty protein addition than a distinct taste. Still, it was enjoyable and well-balanced.

We stopped in Banff on our way back to Calgary from Jasper to see the town one last time. We had quite a bit of time so we decided to have lunch and the place we picked wasn’t open until dinner time. The Bear Street Tavern was next-door.

We sat in the courtyard outside and it was charming. The team waiting on us couldn’t be more pleasant or helpful.
It’s not a huge menu, which we actually quite liked and I had the Tavern bowl, which was a super tasty kale based vegan salad. I had a chicken because I’m not a vegan, and this salad was incredibly good. The dressing with sublime, the taste and balance of flavour amazing. And it was huge, my husband and I could’ve shared it easily.
My husband had the sub sandwich and it was so good really fresh wonderful Italian Chili peppers. I’m originally from New York and that sub sandwich looked really authentic.
Did not have big expectations, and I loved this place .
I would say it was more lunch than dinner but depends on what mood you’re in and how much food you had all day but you won’t go hungry here and they also do pizza .

The creme brullee dessert was absolutely fantastic, we ordered a second one after finishing the first. Rilletes and ribs not so great, would pass on those. Tokyo fries delicious to share. Small restaurant so there can be a wait.

Saw the reviews about the ramen curry and had to try it. It was incredible! There were a lot of toppings in it, so much flavor and it was a good portion. My bf got the thai curry mussels w pita bread. He said they might have been the best mussels hes ever had and cleaned the bowl 😅
We both agreed we could have gone without the tiramisu brownie dessert. The top has caramelized sugar, middle is a tiramisu cream layer, and the bottom is brownie. It was unique but not amazing.

My husband and I had dinner at Block on our recent trip to Banff and WOW was it amazing! We've been coming to Banff for 10 years and I cannot believe this was the first time we tried it. Everything was so delicious from the karaage chicken to the lettuce wraps to the dumplings and even the dessert. We also got a side of the in house kimchi and it was 10/10. Our server was also wonderful and treated us so well! I would highly recommend block the next time you're in Banff, especially if you like tappas style food!

Initially came here to try out their duck poutine and curry ramen but unfortunately it was only available on their lunch menu and we came for dinner.
Luckily the two dishes we got instead were really good.
To fill our duck craving we got their duck spring rolls rich had the perfect crunch paired with an incredible dipping sauce that I’ve never had with spring rolls before. Extra points for the presentation!
My girlfriend has never had bison before so we went with the smoked bison & pesto flat bread. We both enjoyed it and I think every ingredient on it was great and worked well together.
If I’m ever back in Banff I’ll be sure to come back and try their lunch menu.
Nice small restaurant in the heart of downtown Banff. Very good food and friendly staff. Prices are a bit high but it’s worth. Food was delicious and portions were big.
Our server was one of the most attentive servers ever! Amy maybe? She was On top of it! Nice high-top outside on a beautiful afternoon. Had a bottle of the Montrose Rose ($58) paired with Three Dips & Nann ($14) that was a tasty treat and delicious! Hard to choose a favorite. Next were the Wagyu Beef Gyozas ($17) and the beef was so tender inside. Fantastic! Finished with a Vegan Bao ($8.75). Never had one before and jury is still out on the Bao but it was packed nicely and veggies were fresh and tasty. Make this a stop! You won't be sorry.

The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Banff Caribou is a stylish yet casual chain restaurant known for its classic steak and seafood dishes. Despite being part of a chain, the restaurant stands out with its excellent food and service. I don’t usually give out 5 stars, but The Keg in Banff earned it. The food was seriously impressive. I had the prime rib sandwich—it tasted like the burnt ends of a roast, packed with flavor and cooked just right. My wife got the oven-roasted salmon, and it was baked to perfection. Even the mashed potatoes were next level—loaded with butter and seasoning you don’t find at most places.
Service was fast and friendly, which made the whole experience smooth. They’ve got a kids menu too, which made it easy for us to enjoy a great meal as a family without any hassle.
If you’re in Banff and want a solid, satisfying dinner, this place is worth it.

We visited Banff and decided to have lunch at the Keg. Our shrimp appetizer was great, prime rib was more medium than medium well, and the steak sandwich was okay. We’ve had better meals at other Keg’s, but it was pretty good overall.
Our tour group stayed here for five days. We had their buffet breakfast. It was pretty extensive, and well stocked. The servers were kind of hit and miss, but it seemed that maybe they were either young or overwhelmed at times. We also had a team dinner here one night, which was fabulous. We had excellent grilled beets and zucchini, and chicken and steak (both of which were done perfectly) and an enormous piece of cheesecake for our dessert. All were delicious. We had a dinner here by ourselves and had the prime rib dinner. This was kind of underwhelming. The bread was excellent, as was the salad, but the prime rib seemed under seasoned. The mushroom rice was also under seasoned. But the crème brûlée for dessert was absolutely fabulous, one of the best I’ve ever had. So, hit or miss sometimes.
The rice is 80% raw. I don’t think this should happen in a $100/person restaurant. Lobster and the soup are too salty but tasty anyway.
The French onion soup shouldn’t be such salty as a starter. Lobster is fresh but the crab legs tastes like from the refrigerator. Steak is great with cute pink inside.

We had dinner at The Keg in Banff, and overall it was a great experience. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, perfect for a mountain-town evening. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout the meal.
The steaks were cooked nicely and flavorful, and the sides were fresh and well-seasoned. The only small downside was that the wait time was a bit long, even with a reservation — likely because it’s such a popular spot.
Still, definitely worth a visit if you’re craving a quality steak dinner in Banff!
The service was fine; however, the food was poor. The Keg is usually a safe bet - but not this one. I stole a slab of garlic butter from another dish attempting to give the steak a bit of moisture. The poor cut was abused on the grill :). The mushroom starter and twice baked potato were burnt, not seared. The chicken was also overdone. The butter noodles were a hit for the 6 year old. So $170 for an enjoyable bowl of plain pasta, two subpar meals, and drinks. Would not recommend.
Popped in here for happy hour, and it does not disappoint. Loved my two drinks, the old-fashioned and a martini. The bartender was great. She took good care of me and got to watch some American football!
Filet was good, however, shrimp appetizer and shrimp served with my stead was disappointing. The veggie trio served with my steak was a little odd. Service was slow. There was only one server working in the bar at 7pm.

Honestly, this is hands down the best vegetarian/vegan restaurant I’ve ever been to. The flavours, the quality, the service — everything was incredible. Caleb, the owner was super nice and ensured we had the best time ever. Highly recommend!

If you're looking for the best vegetarian food in Banff, Nourish Bistro is the place to be. The Big Bear Burger was absolutely delicious — flavorful, hearty, and satisfying even for non-vegetarians. They also offer a great variety of fruity beers and creative cocktails that pair perfectly with the food. The service was friendly and attentive, and the cozy, nature-inspired ambiance adds to the overall experience. It is a bit on the pricey side, but the quality and uniqueness of the dishes make it worth it.

We’re not vegan, but we always love trying vegan food and Nourish did not disappoint! We saw great reviews and decided to check it out. The food was honestly amazing. We loved everything we ordered, and the cocktails were just as good.
Only thing that threw us off a bit was that we weren’t done with our food (we still had fries and few bites left), and one of the staff just picked up our plates without asking if we were done. That felt a little off, to be honest.
But apart from that, the rest of the staff was nice, and the vibe was good. If you’re vegan or just curious to try vegan food, this place is definitely worth a visit. Loved their in-house burgers, highly recommend!

The first time I had the delicious Vietnamese Noodle Salad with tofu. Not only was it delicious, but it was colourful and beautifully composed.
The next day I came back for a lighter meal and had the vegetable gyoza. I also enjoyed the home made lemon / lime drink, which was wonderfully refreshing and not too sweet.
The best part was the terrific service! The staff seemed to operate as a very cooperative team to provide seamless service. The restaurant itself had a comfortable and calm vibe.
Sit outside on their patio with yellow umbrellas to get a lovely view is the mountains.

Super friendly and super relaxed staff. Good ambiance. Most importantly really good food. The menu is creative and divers. All vegetarian restaurant and all upgradable to vegan. It does so without screaming this, in my opinion that is a huge plus and a compliment. Just go and try this restaurant.
If ever you are in Banff, this is a gem of a place. Everything is vegetarian or vegan including the drinks. We were in Banff end of May and were looking for a restaurant with more vegetarian options as well as the ambience. This place fitted the needs. Lovely patio sitting and the service was excellent. It was Saturday evening and the place was packed so we waited for 15 mins to get a table which was so worth it considering all the delicious options on the menu. There were four of us - we ordered Boss Bear Burger, Nourishment Bowl and Wild Mushrooms Ravioli. All three dishes were yummy. And also ordered beer and a non alcoholic drink. Will definitely go there again if ever we are in Banff!!
So nice to find a place to enjoy a variety of fresh, healthy and original veggie dishes. The dumplings were prolly our favorite but I do have to give a shout out to both the beet humus and their marinaded/grilled tofu …both were super yummy as part of the overall salad I had. Thankfully the dressing was not overdone so I could enjoy the overall mix of flavors. Glad the weather cooperated as it was nice to dine on the patio and enjoy the lively outdoor atmosphere. PS- if u get the dumplings and have any dipping sauce left over, I loved dipping the falafel into it, but maybe that’s just me!
Heaven for vegetarians. We got the mushrooms ravioli and black bean burger. The fries with the burger were seasoned so well. And all the sauces were super tasty. Going back again to try other stuff. Definitely recommend. The staff is super friendly and welcoming!!!

Nestled in the heart of Banff, Eddie Burger + Bar is a must-visit for burger enthusiasts. Every time we're in Banff we never miss going to Eddie Burger and I'm so glad they've retained the menu over the years because their burgers are delicious! My husband likes the bison and I usually order a classic, but the elk burger is also amazing. Onion rings are also particularly good, as well as the milkshake. The large portion sizes are well-worth and the service was excellent. The only con is the limited seating so you might want to stop by here first to get on the waiting list and then walk around town.

Great burger spot in the Heart of Banff, right where all the action is, and surrounded by historic architecture. The service was excellent and the food is too! The poutine was enormous, made with high quality cheese curds, delicious vegetarian gravy, and crispy crinkle fries! I had the house made, spiced veggie burger, made like a smash burger - it was the bomb! I added onion, and it was a 10/10! Onion rings on the side are made fresh to order, beer battered and also done right! If you’re looking for a good burger in Banff, you’ve found it!
Well located in downtown, place is small, lively, nice and comfortable. Service is good. Menu has different options on burgers, including bison patty and elk patty. You can also configure your burger by yourself. Fries are fantastic and burgers very tasty.
After a poor visit to Magpie and a stump in Banff Alberta, the owner reached out to me to apologize and make it right. We final had a chance to visit Banff again and visited The Eddie Burger + Bar, which is one of their member restaurants.
This visit was spectacular. From the service to the food. We could not be more impressed.
The location is not large but it is quaint and cozy. Our server explained their menu from the standard food items to the customize your burger menu. You use a dry erase marker on a special menu where you pick out the options you want. Very cool idea and works wonderful in a burger joint.
I opted for the classic Eddie burger while my table mates chose the customized option.
Over all the food was delicious and hot. A great stop if you like a great classic burger.
As an avid burger lover, this place was recommended to me. I had the build your own burger with a side of crinkle fries and a chocolate milkshake. I was overly thrilled with how everything tasted. The service and atmosphere on the patio was very nice as well. I will 100% be returning in the future next time I’m in Banff :)
They say a picture's worth a thousand words. We had the Stampede with fries and Elk with deep fried pickles; both burgers were tasty and the fries and pickles, especially the sauce that comes with the pickles, were GREAT. What's most surprising though was the raspberry chocolate milkshake! It was seriously super refreshing and not too sweet ❤️ Highly recommend
Been to The Eddie Burger in Banff a few times and it’s always delicious. The fries are well-seasoned, the burgers are big and top-notch, and I love the create-your-own burger option. It’s a small spot so it can get busy, and prices are definitely on the Banff side, but the quality makes it worth it.
I have tried many burgers in Europe(almost in every country),North-America and South-America. Here, I had the chance to try The Rocky Mountain(with Elk patty). In my humble opinion, this was THE BEST BURGER in my life, the taste is incredible and it just melts in your mouth, you have to try it. My wife was not that keen on having Burgers for dinner(three days in a row). The staff is very friendly and always happy to help you. They have an amazing thing going on here, I do hope that they keep it up. When we are in Banff again, we definitely going to have dinner here.

Stopped in to try the local beer options in Banf. This brewery is a fun place! The staff was friendly and efficient. The black IPA was very good. The place was in a feather mood due to the hockey playoffs. We didn't eat but the food looked good. Overall it was a fun experience.

I’ve eaten here many times over 14years and usually love the food. But tonight we ordered takeout through an app, and my burger came with this awful rotten piece of lettuce! I don’t mean wilted from being in the box, but yellow & brown patches from it being days or weeks old! It was disgusting to find rotten food in my freshly ordered meal!!!
A little late to review but better late than never! On a weekend trip with my mom and sister I insisted we go to Banff ave brewing as it is a favourite of my husband and I. We previously had a lot of the fancier restaurants booked for dinners. We popped in at opening for lunch and we had such a fantastic meal. My mom ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich with fries and she said it was the best “burger” she has ever had and that the fries were absolutely perfect. I ordered a regular burger and have dietary restrictions, our server Jeremiah was so helpful and just overall a wonderful server. He was attentive, funny and knowledgeable. The nitro pina colada was killer. Thank you for a wonderful time as always.
This is a fun brewpub with an excellent selection of permanent and rotating beers on tap - the tasting selection of 6 beers is the way to go. It was fully packed out when we visited owing to the Melissa’s Road Race crowd but were still well served despite longer than usual waits for drinks and food. A good, convenient and causal pit stop for some drinks and grub on the main drag.
Stopped into Banff Ave Brewing and had the 12-oz Wild Warden (Raspberry Rhubarb Sour 6.2%) which was a really good beer that I would have again. This was a nice brewery with more draft options than the Three Bears Brewery nearby. Unfortunately the 2nd floor seating at the balcony lookong out onto the street had all seats taken, otherwise, that seemed like a really nice spot to enjoy a cold beer on a warm day.
We ate outside and was dog friendly. They have daily specials and we tried the fish and chips with poutine fries and the cauliflower app. Everything was fresh and crispy, super tasty. Tried some various beers they had on tap which were great. Def recommend if you are in town.
Cool place, good staff, accommodating of our baby, tasty beers and food. The reason this isn't a 5 star is everything was good, but I wasn't blown away by anything. Definitely worth a visit.

Hello Sunshine Sushi & Karaoke is a unique restaurant in Banff that combines the ambiance of a ski lodge with a Japanese karaoke bar. It offers a variety of Japanese cuisine, including sushi, ramen, and barbecue, as well as creative options like Cheeseburger Gyoza and Crispy Nori Chips and Dip.
Chicken ramen is a 10 out of 10. The garlic broth felt warm and comforting. The gourmet California roll was just okay for me.
What I liked the most was the dine-in environment. It was very cozy, and the decor and color scheme were really pleasant. The service was excellent, and the staff kept smiling throughout the entire visit.

Love the decor - the restaurant is really modern and has lots of natural light from the street-facing window.
The hostess was friendly and we were seated quickly even though it was a weekend. The menu is small but has a bit of everything. Everyone enjoyed their food. Our favourite dish was the scallops which were absolutely phenomenal, but was prepared completely differently from the description in the menu.
They also do karaoke in the evenings, but we didn't have a chance to try it.
A great final dinner to cap off our time in Banff. The atmosphere is fun and the staff is friendly. I forgot to write a note down for her name, but special shout out to our awesome Kiwi/Aussie server who was serving across the restaurant and making drinks. She was great.
We ordered a lot of the menu. Highlights included the Chicken Karagge, A5 Wagyu (which they have a very good price on and the chef cooks perfectly), and the Maui Wowie rolls which were 50% off for happy hour ($6.70 USD for a set of 8 sizeable rolls is a steal in the US).
They have great Pork Bao buns here, and I tried bites of the Chicken Teriyaki and the Lobster Fried rice, both of which are stellar even though they weren't my main.
If you're coming here for value, slam a bunch of the half price Sushi for happy hour. If you want to try a bunch of stuff, just order a bunch of the amazing Apetizers. Everything we tried was great.
Definitely a new favourite spot in Banff! The service is friendly and quick, and even on a weekend the restaurant was not too busy, although a reservation is recommended.
During happy hour, select dishes like some of sushi is 50% off and they did not disappoint. The Maui wowie roll is tropical and the fresh tastes fresh. The pork tonkotsu ramen is flavorful, the egg is soft in the center, and the noodles are cooked well. As a person preference, the pork was too fatty but that doesn’t take away from the 5-star experience
Dining at this Japanese restaurant was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. The moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted by a serene atmosphere filled with the calming scent of freshly cooked rice, miso, and grilled seafood. The interior design was elegant yet minimal — soft lighting, clean lines, and subtle Japanese décor that made the space feel both peaceful and inviting. Every detail reflected authenticity and care, setting the perfect stage for what turned out to be a truly memorable meal.

Came here on our first night in Banff and ended up coming back on our last night as well. Was able to walk in without a reservation both times, but it does get busy! The vibe is awesome—think SF meets Japan meets ski town. I love that they have all the dietary indicators on the menu since I am someone who has to be dairy free. Highly recommend the non alcoholic matcha colada for the drink. This dishes we loved so much that we ordered them both times were the dragon roll, the shishito peppers, and the chicken karaage. The nigiri was fresh and delicious as well. Would highly recommend!
What a crazy cool unique place! We sat at the fireplace table which seats other couples, all around a huge, shared, round fireplace. We enjoyed being able to talk to the people next to us. The waiter was friendly and offered great food suggestions. We loved the unique flavors and atmosphere. The Beef Tataki was incredible!! Really a cool place to eat at, especially if you love Asian fusion.
Good sushi options and a nice ambiance. Definitely add this to your short list of places to visit when enjoying Banff. Tip: there is a sushi happy hour and many items are at a great price. Great for a late lunch.

Most likely, the original Mexican owners have sold business to an Indian Gentleman. The new owner is a very nice person but the food quality is not great. They serve most awkward interpretation of Ceviche and Calamari.
El Toro is an absolute gem in Banff! I was pleasantly surprised to find that they offer halal meat options, which made the experience even better. The food was delicious, fresh, and cooked perfectly! You can really taste the quality in every bite.
On top of that, the service was outstanding. The staff were warm, attentive, and made sure everything was just right throughout the meal. It’s rare to find a place that combines such great flavors with such genuine hospitality.
If you’re visiting Banff and looking for a spot with halal options, I highly recommend El Toro. It’s definitely a restaurant I’ll be coming back to!
The food was not bad. Felt a little overpriced for what it was. I got the chicken fajitas. They were pretty good, but a little bland. I barely had any peppers. If this was supposed to be fine dining, that's not what it looks or taste. My friend got the trip fajitas and that looked better. The table next to us had a really good looking meal. Probably we didn't get the right thing. I would visit again, but not that impressed from my first visit.
The girl who was serving us was really nice and friendly. We went for breakfast, and even though I’m not a big fan of eggs, I ordered the egg burrito and honestly, I kind of liked it! The way it was made surprised me. The portion was huge for one person; I couldn’t finish it. We went around lunchtime, and the ambiance was really nice too. Overall, a pleasant and satisfying experience.
Saif made our experience very enjoyable. He is one of the nicest waiters we’ve ever met who went above and beyond! He was able to accommodate to our special requests and attended to us throughout our meal time.
As for the food, we got fried calamari, beef tartare and tacos. Overall they were all just okay - good for a filling dinner but nothing exceptionally special. We really appreciated the sides for the tacos (guac, salsa, sour cream and beans).
Edit: I left my backpack in the restaurant and noticed over an hour later. When I went back to the restaurant to check (was very stressed), Saif was already expecting us and told us he was trying to find our phone number to call us. To Saif, we hope you get everything you want in life and more😭 thank you for being an amazing waiter and person🙏

Three Bears Brewery & Restaurant is a unique and inviting spot in Banff, designed to make you feel like you're dining in the heart of a forest. The wood-lined interior is adorned with wildlife statues and features a 25-foot pine tree, creating a cozy atmosphere.
The food here was pretty good, a bit on the pricey side. We ordered the French onion soup, the wings and the mac n cheese. I really enjoyed the wings, they had so much flavor and the French onion soup hit the spot on the rainy day that we went. The mac n cheese was not bad, but a bit on the mild side for flavor. Service was great, all the staff were super friendly and there was plenty of outdoor seating so we could sit with our dog.

We had an amazing experience at 3 Bears Brewery! On our second visit, we were served by Eloy, who was absolutely fantastic. Even though the restaurant was quite busy, the staff handled everything with such professionalism and genuine friendliness.
It’s no surprise this place is always packed — they have their own crafted beers that are simply a must-try! The food was also incredible, and every bite was worth it. Kudos to the owner and manager for running such a well-organized and welcoming establishment.

We came here for dinner and were seated upstairs. The space was beautifully decorated with a stylish bar and a glass roof that let in lots of light — and closed up nicely when it got chillier outside.
Service was perfect. Our friendly waiter guided us through the (beer) menu, which was much appreciated. They brew the beer locally, and as Belgians we were very happy to finally drink good, affordable beer abroad. Even better: it wasn’t just affordable, it was really tasty too! We tried the pilsner, a fruity seasonal, and the mango IPA.
For mains, we had a pepperoni pizza and mac ’n cheese. The pizza was basically more pepperoni than pizza (not necessarily a bad thing), but the dough was solid. The mac ’n cheese was tasty and definitely filling.
We visited a brewery restaurant in downtown Banff after seeing the good Google reviews. Since the weather was nice, we sat on the patio. We ordered a pale ale, mushroom pizza, and the beef tenderloin. The beer was smooth and tasty, and the food overall was quite good. The steak was more tender and flavorful than expected, though the prices were on the higher side. Service was friendly, and the restaurant itself is quite spacious with two floors. It’s not right on the main street, so it felt quieter and more relaxed, which we really enjoyed.
We stopped into Three Bears tonight on our second trip to Banff. We regret not coming here for dinner sooner! Our server Macy was wonderful. Very friendly, funny, great customer service, made great cocktails and was very accommodating to our requests and vegan guests. All staff we encountered were kind and welcoming. Food was amazing, o.s. they aren’t kidding about the crust, sooo good! and the maple old fashioned is a must try. I highly recommend stopping in!

I visited this place with my family on a Saturday afternoon. Although it was a bit crowded, the wait time was surprisingly short thanks to the spacious interior. The decor is vibrant and nature-inspired, with beautiful displays featuring animals and greenery, it gives the space a warm, energetic vibe. You can tell a lot of thought and care went into creating the atmosphere. The service was excellent; our server was friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome.
There was also live music playing, which made the experience even more enjoyable. As for the food, every dish we ordered was delicious. We had the 7-cheese pizza, perfect for cheese lovers, the Caesar salad, which was fresh and flavorful, and the Alberta bison ribs, a local specialty that was tender and rich in flavor. The cheesy waffle fries were also a hit, crispy and loaded with flavor. I tried the Pinery Pilsner beer, which was crisp, refreshing, and paired well with the meal.
An extra fun touch: they also sell their own branded merchandise, which adds to the charm and personality of the place. I definitely recommend this spot for its great food, excellent service, fun vibe, and unique atmosphere.

A big thank you to Nicholas for making my birthday dinner at 1888 Chophouse truly special! His service was outstanding — attentive, warm, and professional from start to finish. He made me feel celebrated and taken care of throughout the evening.
The food was incredible — the ribeye was perfectly cooked, the whipped potatoes were creamy and delicious, and the asparagus was spot on. To top it all off, I was surprised with a dessert that had “Happy Birthday” beautifully written — such a thoughtful touch!
Spent the afternoon at the spa and decided to end our day at 1888. Nicholas was our server and he was Spectacular; very warm and engaging and helped us make our dinner selections. The atmosphere was exactly what we needed to make our trip extra memorable in a relaxing and upscale atmosphere. A romantic evening with delicious food.
Start to finish, this was a fantastic dinner. The staff pulled all the stops to make sure my brother had a fantastic birthday dinner and I am very grateful for their hard work in the matter.
The hostess sat us and gave us some pre-dinner tips (a very nice Aussie girl whose name I neglected to grab, apologies miss!). Our server, Adam, was clearly a seasoned professional with a book-level knowledge of the entire menu and helped my parents, grandparents and brother determine exactly what to get.
The bread service was immaculate, crispy rolls with a soft warm center and a nice herb butter on the side. Stellar. I ordered the Duck Parfait as I love liver, and the Bread that came with it, alongside the fruit spread made for a dynamite combination. Very appreciative for the gentleman whose name I neglected to get who assisted in situating silverware and the like.
I got the Beef Cheeks, which were prepared Braised pot roast style. Delicious and fork tender, on a nice bed of grits. I used a leftover roll to scrape the Jus up and it was immaculate.
For dessert, my brother was given a little piece of chocolate on his Sundae with "Happy Birthday" which was a very kind gesture. I opted for the rhubarb which came out like an upscale stuffed fruit rollup. S-tier dessert.
It really is worth to just come here for a meal even if you aren't staying on property. The atmosphere is beautiful, the staff is kind, and the food is superb.
We came to enjoy a meal after a relaxing day. Our waitress Lauren was very friendly and attentive. The food was very good, the alberta tenderloin was one of the best steaks I have ever had, probably only beaten by kobe steak I had when I visited Japan - but a very different steak to be honest. I couldn't really fault any of the food and it made a very memorable meal to end our holiday. Hopefully we will come back on a special anniversary in future.

I ordered two appetizers and entree. First appetizer was lobster mash potato, $24 for they say two persons. It was well made overall quite tasty. A big more pieces of lobster would be nice. Second one is the grilled chicken salad. This too was favourably. So two thumbs up for both. My entree was spawn shrimps spaghetti. For the price is $19 in todays inflationary environment. How can you go wrong?!

We had a very nice time at the restaurant the server was great and the atmosphere was nice. The appetizers were very good the only problem was the main course mainly the $81.00 Ribeye that was suggested medium which is how I usually eat my ribeye. The steak was very tough and very unappealing in flavour... I honestly would love to recommend this place and I do recommend it I just don't suggest the steak sadly. The other Dishes were good and the family enjoyed their meal overall.

The calamari is the best calamari I’ve ever had! It’s cooked to perfection, juicy, and does not taste rubbery at all.
Their angus burger is made fresh daily and you can definitely tell! Their prawn spaghettini is also delightful.
For dessert, the sticky toffee pudding was definitely the right choice! We finished every last bit of it.

The place is warm and welcoming. The service was excellent, our server Michael was very friendly and took care of us bringing drinks and food on time. Our 4 stars and not 5 are because the steak lack a little bit of flavour. The calamary had a great taste and fair price on happy hours. The chips and dips had a good taste but were too oily. I would recommend this place.
Another good dinner. Great service and fine tasting upscale dining. The filet was a little underdone from the order, but the planked salmon was excellent. Place feeling a little dated but better than the bar food on most of Banff Avenue. Beef Carpacio was excellent and good wine selection
Hostess were nice and fast with our orders. Their burger was juicy and fully loaded with toppings. Their salad supposed to have Kale but apparently there wasn’t. Brought the issue to the staff but all she said was “so sorry about that”. I wish they can warn the customers about what ingredients are missing for the day. The steak was okay. Their ‘well-done’ version is full on burnt. The place needs to improve and needed more renovations. Lots of tables inside and at the patio. Great place to eat when all the surrounding restaurants are full.

It was our third visit to the pub: 2000, 2018, and this year. Whenever we visit Banff, we always have one of our meals at this Irish pub, and it never disappoints. The food was good, the servers were very attentive, and the atmosphere was great as well. The only downside was that the beer, Innis & Gunn, had a slightly different taste than the one I had in Edinburgh. I noticed a flowery note—I’m not sure if it was just me. I don’t know when we’ll visit Banff again, but I’m sure we’ll come back to the pub for another meal and some drinks.
Unfortunately my partner and I were in agreement that this was the singular bad experience we had throughout our entire stay in the Banff area. On the positive side, the decor is good, as is the layout and the quality of the Guinness is as good as home which I wasn't expecting. The service though was dire! Really poor attitude from the staff who were gruff at best, and down right rude at worst. First drink was slammed down on the bar, spilling it as if we'd offended the man (which we hadn't really interacted with). He proceeded to them ignore us despite us sitting at the bar with empty glasses looking for his attention to order another. His colleagues were no better. Observed serving clearly very inebriated patrons repeatedly and regularly at the other side of the bar throughout this time. Very unprofessional and not representative of warm service that Irish bars are renowned for the world over, I'm sorry to say.

Stopped by for a late lunch after being up in Lake Louise. Our server was fantastic, I cant remember his name (only that he was from Manchester.) I couldn't decide between the Chicken & Leek Pie or the Bangers & Mash. He recommended the Bangers & Mash and it did not disappoint! Absolutely delicious. Everyone else had burgers and potatoes skins (lame). Next time I'm in I'll have to try the Chicken & Leek Pie! Thanks for amazing food and service.

I got a turkey club with corn and sweet potato soup. My mom got a chicken burrito with chips and salsa. Also got a mixed berry mocktail which was divine. Food came out quickly, within 15 minutes.

Best breakfast I’ve ever had - if we’re ever in Banff again, we’ll definitely be back. Pancakes were fluffy + light, berry compote was SO good. No upcharge for real/pure maple syrup (amazing). Potatoes and back bacon were both good - not too greasy. Tunnel Mountain was the perfect serving size. Quick service + super reasonably priced (around $20 per person including coffee, before tip). Overall, a great place for breakfast if you’re not looking for anything fancy/over the top.
The huevos rancheros were excellent! Blue corn tortillas were perfectly balanced between crunch and soft enough to cut, flavor was as good of a classic preparation as I’ve had. Service was friendly and prompt and seating is nice and cozy. Coffee was also above par for a cafe pour, and cup never went empty. Well done🤌
Nice welcoming atmosphere. Something about the place gave me a good vibe like I was back in New Mexico. I had the half sandwich (Club) and chicken tortilla soup. We were dining on the patio, and at the beginning they told us, “We can’t guarantee you’ll be able to move inside if it rains.” Still, we decided to enjoy sitting outside. Then, out of nowhere, it started pouring. I asked our server, just in case, if we could move inside, and they immediately prepared a table for us and guided us in. After visiting the lakes, we were walking back to our car we came upon the delicious smelling Magpie & Stump and hurried in. I had a delicious jalapeño margarita and chicken quesadillas, and my son had the recommended chicken fajitas. They were both very good. We had a fantastic server from London, and the bar tender kept the drinks coming:)

Let’s be real… you come here for the elk, and oh boy, are you spoiled for choice! I went with the highly recommended elk ravioli and they were delicious! The local beer was a perfect match too. It does get a bit loud when a game is on, but that’s part of the bar vibe.

Our hostess and server were both very friendly and attentive. Our food came out quickly! Everything was as expected (compared to many other keg visits) except the mashed potatoes which are usually my favourite. They seemed quite dense and had an odd colour and texture? We were able to try their fall feature dessert which is a sticky toffee pudding and it was quite good, I would recommend! We did not require a reservation as we came just before 5pm on a cold Friday!
One of the best steaks we’ve had in a long time! Both the baseball sirloin and rib eye were cooked to perfection! Garlic shrimp appetizer size was disappointing being only 6 shrimp but they tasted sooo good!

Food itself was decent overall for everything we ordered, consistent with other Keg locations.
Service wise, I’d say this is the worst Keg location of all the spots I’ve tried due to a lack of a waitlist. We were a group of 9 with a dog, meaning we cannot sit inside and must sit at the patio. When we went to ask the interior host, we were told to ask the patio host as they’re managed almost separately. When we reached the patio host, we were told there is no way for us to put our names down (ie. it’s only if at the moment you ask and a table is available, then you can be seated). It was only by chance that when we swung by a second time, we saw available tables and asked again, we were then seated. We also mentioned a few times that it is our friend’s birthday but no free dessert is offered.
Our overall trip to the Keg was very yummy. The only issue I had was the pricing of the shrimp cocktail - 18$ total for 5 shrimps and a small bit of cocktail sauce. Service was a little slow but he made up for it by being very kind and enjoyable to chat with. I got the new York strip medium rare. It was a good sized portion and the garlic mashed potatoes I got with it was delicious. My partner got a filet mignon and he really enjoyed it. His only issue was that he ordered a steak with no pink and he got a pink steak. It was still good though but I recommend ordering a medium well if looking for no pink. The drinks were good, however the Keg sized drinks are interesting because it's extra alcohol added to the drink for another 5$. I thought it would come in a bit of a bigger cup so I might be a bit silly lol. I would definitely go again! A very nice dinner with friends. The bar had the Olympics on and the music they played was a bit indie alt esq. I definitely recommend!

So the the Steak Sandy was on special so we got 3 of those and my son picked up a Burger. The food was good pub food and the burger was rated 9.5 out of 10. The service was on point and we didn't have to wait at all.
Playing darts was great, we usually bring out own, but I know you can ask at the bar to get a set if you need them. We had so much fun with such a chill evening.

Tommy's offers a small outdoor patio. It's a few steps below the sidewalk, which is great for getting away from the street noise and the wind.. it's pet friendly as well. The staff are very friendly and pleasant 😊. They offer a steak sandwich during happy hour. It's very good 👍.
The food is very good here, we came back a second time! Steak sandwich is so tender and flavorful. The soups are really good and the salad is very fresh. The nachos are the largest I’ve ever seen!

Tommy's is a great pub that serves really good food. Prices were so reasonable, the food was delicious and huge portions. Scott our server was excellent, backed up by Maggie filling the drinks behind the bar. A lovely experience in a very traditional style Canadian pub. No wi fi so people are actually talking.
We just walk-in...food was served about 15ish minutes...the food was okay...the nachos was tasted burnt on top but they'd replace it as soon we told them..service was good!
Came in for some late food, but alas the kitchen had just closed a few minutes earlier at 10 PM.
So, had just a beer instead. Asked for some recommendations, and eventually picked the most basic of beers, which is always good measuring stick.
As for the beer. Cold. Like really. But actually for the type of beer, basically on point. Pint sized, which is really only useful if you can drink that fast enough, without your beer heating up too much. They should ask size if they offer multiple. No head though, virtually non-existent. My Belgian heart bled there. Price was on point.
The atmosphere, lively despite it being not too crowded. Some tables talking, some in the back playing darts. Music too loud though, or the speaker near the first table on the right is positioned very poorly.
The waitress was sublime though. Friendly, helpful, and multiple check-ins on how I was doing.
Timeless local haunt been serving banffites and visitors alike since the 90's. This place is quaint and compact, but don't let the size fool you. Pound for pound this pub serves plenty of pints and pub food that would make establishments 3x times bigger jealous, lol! Come for the drinks, stay for the friendship, All are welcome at Tommy's pub and grill.

Located within the renowned Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, The Vermillion Room is a luxurious dining spot known for its opulent Sunday brunch buffet. While the buffet is currently on hold, guests can still indulge in the restaurant's à la carte menu featuring gourmet breakfast items like banana bread French toast and steak and eggs. The elegant atmosphere of The Vermillion Room adds to the grandeur of the experience, making it an ideal choice for a special morning treat.
We were staying at the Fairmont for a couple of days. It was part of our trip with the Rocky Mountaineer Rail. The restaurant is on the Mezzanine level and has a great view of the mountain range. We had 3 meals in total. A couple of buffet breakfasts and a 3 course dinner. These were all part of our travel package.
In all 3 cases we were impressed with the atmosphere, service, and food. I have been to other Fairmonts, and this one lives up (and exceeds) the standards.
The buffet breakfasts had all my usual favorites. I am especially fond of the smoked salmon lox, along with all the accompaniments (capers, pickled red onion). Everything was always fresh, and well presented. I enjoy the buffet experience because I can make the plate with whatever combination I am interested in. They also do I nice job with freshly made smoothies, both sweet and more savory.
For the dinner, we were a party of 4, and with a reservation, got seated right away. The packaged meal had all the same entrees as the usual menu, with the exception of the the "seafood platter for two). Our server did a great job of getting us settled in, with menus waters and some cocktails. I got the special "Riviera" cocktail and found it to be nothing short of amazing. (if you like grapefruit flavors).
For food, we started with some salads, grilled octopus, and french onion soups. My octopus was a unique dish, with a bit of cured egg yolk. For my entree I got the Chinook Salmon, on a bed of lentils. The other meals consisted of prime rib, and short rib. Everything was hot, flavorful, and good portions. No complaints, just big smiles.
We saved room for dessert, and got the Opera Cake, Chocolate Cake, Paris-Brest and Creme Brulee. Unfortunately, this part of the meal was disappointing, with the toasted croissant missing from the Creme Brulee, and the Paris-Brest tasting stale. Not the best way to finish the meal. We did have a short conversation with the manager, and he did apologize.
With the exception of the dessert issue, everything else was 5 stars! Would love to come back if we get back to Banff.

A couple words of advice: go early or don’t arrive super hungry. The food is a 10/10 but it closes at 9pm and the later you go, the more likely they are out of things and the kitchen backs up a bit. Now on to our dinner, we loved the place and our waiter Jeremy (I think was his name). The food is fantastic. We loved the French onion soup, steak frites, and gnocchi. Loved this spot!
Fruits are super fresh. Smoothie and oatmeal taste wonderful! Good atmosphere, amazing views, and high end vibes. Pastries 🥐 are good too. Avocado toast doesn’t taste like what we expected. Yogurt parfait doesn’t taste good. Cooked food can be better, sausages were real meat, but chewy and cold.
But service is great! So is the view
My wife booked a 7:00 pm dinner reservation for a “nice dinner” during our first visit to Banff. Let me start by saying the hotel is beautiful, the view from the terrace is amazing (make sure you get there early enough for pictures), and our server, Ellen, was excellent. The drinks were good too. Where things went sideways was the food. The French onion soup is good, but the escargot lacked any flavor other than butter and pastry. No flavor of garlic or herbs as one would expect. It seemed to be cooked well and the presentation was nice, but it just lacked flavor in general. I had the lobster gnocchi which seemed as if they had forgotten to add the sauce. The gnocchi were browned and dry, and the lobster was so-so. For $55 a plate I expected something much more than what I received. I have seen pictures of this dish in other reviews and there is plenty of a creamy white wine sauce which was not present in my dish. My wife got the pork chop which I thought was ok, but she did not love it. It comes with a thin layer of a pungent cheese that just did not pair well with the dish, in our opinion. We decided to cut our losses and skipped desert. Let me also say that I never send food back and almost never complain, but for a $200+ dinner it was disappointing. We shared our feelings with our server and she appreciated the feedback and gave us a partial discount which we were not expecting, but I would rather have paid for an amazing meal. Based on our experience we would not go back or recommend it until they make some changes.
We had lunch here for birthday. They had given us complimentary cake for the birthday boy. I added a note while booking for reservation asking for vegeterian options for my vegetarian friends ,they read and took care of. Our waiter Himanshu was very attentive and service oriented he answered all questions we asked about the dishes. Very professional 👏 . Desserts were delicious. 😋
Late review, ate here on August 24th around 7:30PM. Steak Frites was amazing, cooked perfectly and amazing flavor. My photo doesn’t do it justice 😭. Fiancé got the burger which was also very tasty (she’s gluten free and even with the gluten free bun still good)! My only complaint here is the seating. It can feel weirdly close to other people. We got seated next to a large family with children who were on the noisier side. Another time I remember being able to hear everything this couple seated next to us was saying. Only complaint tho!
We came for the Sunday brunch at The Vermillion Room and the setting is absolutely beautiful—classic, elegant, and perfect for a special occasion. The food was fresh, well-prepared, and offered a nice variety, from pastries to seafood to carving stations. That said, for the price point, it would’ve been great to see something like endless mimosas or a complimentary drink option included. Still, a lovely experience overall with great service and a stunning view. Worth checking out if you’re looking to treat yourself in Banff.
Vermillion room is located inside the Fairmont Banff Spring hotels. PJ was our waiter and he was so kind and helpful. We told him about our dietary restrictions and he happily accommodated them. The food and drinks were all great. My husband had the filet mignon and I had the mussels and fries.

I really enjoyed bowling here. It’s a small bowling alley so we made a reservation. We also enjoyed the happy hour wings. The maple soy wings were some of the best I’ve had!

In town on our cross-Canadia road trip. Headed into High Rollers for some bowling and beers. Such a blast. Good drinks and our server (aka "Winnipeg") was personable and on top of things. Great dude. Oh, and they have great OG video game options. Best to book bowling in advance. Recommend.

My partner and I came for dinner and bowling last Friday night. I didn’t get out waitresses name but she was absolutely lovely and she looked after us from dinner over to our bowling. Great food, definitely a loud environment but that’s to be expected. Definitely want to return when we come back! :)

Gave it a 4 because it’s not a place to come if you take bowling seriously. It’s a super fun place to party, dance, drink, play games, but if you’re a bowler this isn’t the place to come if you’re used to curving the ball and going for high scores. The pins are attached to strings. The ball return ramp is too close to the lane, and the lanes probably haven’t had a machine move over them in years. This is a great place to party, get drunk and have a good time but if you come here to specifically bowl then this isn’t the pace for you.

It was a great restaurant in Banff town with reasonable pricing. For about $15 or under of a rice bowl, I got plenty of food. We came on a Sunday during lunch time and the restaurant was crowded, but we didn't have to wait for a long time to get the food. Food was fresh and tasted delicious!
They also sell dessert, which I didn't try but they looked good! Will definitely come back again and try their dessert!

Good fast food. Small area with little seating inside, but there's a long bench along the outside under an overhang. Seems to be quality fresh ingredients. I liked the glass window into the small kitchen area so you can see your meal being put together. We tried the level 1 spicy sauce which had a bit of a bite. Depending on how hungry, one large bowl was good to share for two. All the rice is at the bottom, so mix well if you don't want to finish with just rice.
Went here on a Tuesday night. Ordered 2 bowls and some honey buttered fries. The bowls were quite tasty and good value. The fries were a little strange since they had a sweet taste to it. Could not finish the fries. Staff were friendly and service was quick.
Then got a mango bingsu for dessert which was delicious! Would definitely recommend this place. Tastes very authentic.

I've seen ads about KBBQ in a bowl before but never managed to find one in person. While stopping in Banff I found this place and knew I had to try it! The concept is super simple but the food is delicious! I got the combo bop with Kbbq and Chee bop. I wanted to get a second bowl but I stopped myself. I Definitely check this place out if you're a fan of K BBQ

First time being here was intrigued by the interesting Korean bowls! The hankki bokki was amazing with sweet and spicy sauce and soft rice cakes and the spicy chicken and Korean bbq meat was so flavourful! I recommend this place for cheap and delicious food

Fantastic place. We came here on our way out of Banff very early one morning (me wife and baby), the place was fairly quiet, but the treatment we got was so amazing I am compelled to write a review! Clarence every time he came by would interact with our 6-month old keeping her entertained, and she was thrilled! Made our experience incredible. Then the food and setting of course is awesome on its own. But this is the lasting memory of this place for us was the incredible staff particularly Clarence and our server Theo who was also very helpful. Highly recommend the Benny options and the bison sausage!

We loved the view, they gave us blanket to stay outside even with the cold. The service was perfect, caring and thoughtful people. We had the eggs and bison, it was good but small portion. And we had the chanterelle crepe with sour cream and added the smoked salmon, smoke salmon was delicious but the garlic in the crepe was overpowering for us. We learned afterwards that the chef is Mexican so I would recommend to take the Mexican inspired food. But we LOVED our experience and highly recommend!
Our dinner at the bistro was delicious and the restaurant offers a vegan options. Our host Leo and Sid were gracious and very accommodating. We preferred their dinner menu over breakfast since it has more variety. Our breakfast was a bad experience due to cooking errors. Overall, I would come back for the beautiful view and the atmosphere in the evening.

We stayed at the Juniper Hotel and ate here for both brunch and dinner. Our service at both meals was fantastic- Elmer and Ankar were kind, helpful, and friendly. The food itself was lovely, and we enjoyed brunch so much that we decided to make back for dinner. The menu was thoughtfully crafted & you can’t beat the views overlooking the mountains while you’re eating. We loved our time here!
We came here to have our dinner together celebrate my wife's birthday and the ambient, staff and food was top notch! We ordered the truffle mash potatoes, Bison 3 ways (cured, steak, and sausage), pistachio cake, and sorbet (free for the birthday girl). We really liked the food and our server. If you haven't tried Bison before, try it! It has a meatier taste and apparently healthier than beef!
The views are lovely, the food is great, and the restaurant is ok :). This was one of the best breakfasts I've had anywhere, ever. I would make a point to go back for the elk sausage and crafty ceasars. Definitely one of the top two spots in Banff for an incredible breakfast.
Wow! Go here for the views and enjoy the nearly Michelin level of food and service. The laid back atmosphere made it even better! It was our tenth anniversary and Bisheen (sp?) gave extraordinary service. We sat on the patio to enjoy the evening sunset highlighting the mountains. His suggestions of the crunchy vegetables with the trout and side of asparagus were superb. We were leaning towards the yummy sounding Brie but are so glad to try the unique appetizer of veggies and dips. The dried carrot chips were unique and I have never had dehydrated capers before! So unique! The pairing with a bottle of rose from BC at our server’s suggestion was fantastic!
