Authentic Japanese restaurant
Restaurant
ZenSushi embarked on its culinary journey in 2009, driven by a deep passion for Japanese cuisine and the pursuit of flavor harmony. Founded by Iulian and Andrei, both seasoned experts in Japanese gastronomy, their mission was to introduce authentic Japanese flavors to Romania. By 2012, they expanded with a second location in the vibrant Victoriei area. ZenSushi has become a go-to destination for those craving expertly crafted ramen, boasting multiple locations throughout Bucharest.
The food was great, no surprise Sushizen is one of the best Asian restaurants in Bucharest ✨ One of the best tempuras in the city (forgot to take a photo with all 3 pieces), the Zen menu was fulfilling and the sashimi was generous as well! The chocolate mousse deserves a special nod, it was beyond delicious 😍 Who has never tried it, book a table now 📆 We will definitely come back!
Cristina M — Google review
The place looked great, it was a mix between traditional Japanese restaurant and new, reinvented 5 star restaurant. We ordered ramen (without meat) it was decent, I'd give it an 8 out of 10. Not enough flavour, it might be a personal prefference, but it was quite bland. Sushi was better, but the rolls were unevenly cut, some pieces being too big and needed 2 bites. Furthermore, the rice was a bit sticky, the rolls unfolding when trying to pick it up from the plate. The drinks were decent, we had. Hugo and a Mojito. Overall? I'd say a 7/10, not the best, but not the worst either. P.s. the pictures may look appealing, yet the taste is the one that matters 😉
Andrei P — Google review
The sushi was very good. Simple, tasty and good quality. Same goes for the starters. The desserts were a disappointment. It felt like they were made days earlier. The thing that was unacceptable was the cockroaches that kept coming to our table. You have to do something in order to prevent them. The least thing that you could do, would be a discount. We had to change tables and it was disgusting.

Return visit confirms excellence! This cozy spot continues to impress with its great food and attentive service. While their ramen is my usual go-to for its exceptional taste, this time I ventured out of my comfort zone and tried the chef's special - a spicy soup. It was an absolutely delicious choice! The chef's expertise shines through in both their classic dishes and innovative specials. Whether you're craving a comforting bowl of ramen or feeling adventurous, this place delivers a top-notch dining experience.

Great food, nice service, reasonable prices. Japanese beer 🍺.
Paweł Z — Google review
Very tasty food, in line with the other restaurants from the chain. Everything fresh, fast service, decent prices. Watch out, the portions are big, so choose carefully the starter 😀. Enjoy!
Dan R — Google review
Sushi tastes amazing. The serving is great. The menu has lots of options. You may have to speak english with some of the waiters. Prices are good for a sushi restaurant, you can eat with 70 lei a person. Cons: they don't have any light at the bathroom and that can be a little annoying.
Teodora I — Google review
Even though it’s been years since I ate in the location, I order weekly/bi-weekly from them and the food was always top. So far they didn’t disappoint. For me they have the best sushi in town, and I tried some (yoshi was the worst, Ruka was ok) and their truffle seabass it’s the best. The kick of the spicy sauce and the truffles it’s just too good. IMHO this dish is a must have.

Brunch restaurant
Papila is a cozy bistro in Bucharest that offers a short but high-quality menu featuring delicious soups and gourmet grilled sandwiches. The atmosphere is stylish and relaxing, with attentive staff providing excellent service. Guests rave about the flavorful food, including options for vegetarians, as well as the recommended wine selection. The desserts are also highly praised. Overall, visitors appreciate the welcoming ambiance and friendly service at Papila, making it a must-visit dining spot in the city.
An excellent choice! It has taken the 1st spot in my personal top for delicious & creative dishes in Bucharest! Loved the food. Let me say that again: loooved the food! So incredibly tasty and balanced! We had to order seconds for the dumplings, they were so awesome! The staff are friendly & efficient, it is very clean and cosy, although it is small and you need reservations. We’ve only had the lunch menus but definitely coming back for a dinner date! I could eat here every day! 🤍🌸🎀

We had a spectacular dinner with exquisite food, great service and a very cozy atmosphere ❤️ While all the food I had was amazing, the noodles with scallops were were my absolute favorite, such a wonderful combination of textures and flavours. I'll definitely return here soon!
Cristina C — Google review
I was in Bucharest for work and wanted an interesting culinary experience, so I came across Papila. At first, I was drawn by their ramen photos on Google (worth mentioning that ramen is served only on Sundays). I went on a Tuesday without a booking (not sure if usually needed mid-week so please check), and the staff were very kind and attentive. They even set up a lovely table for me outside, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The menu is clear and structured around three different sets. You always need to pair a first and a second dish together. What I think is not okay is that on Google it still shows you can order two firsts, which is unfortunately not the case anymore. This should be clarified, as it could be misleading. For food, I had the chicken liver parfait, which was excellent, followed by the lamb, which was beautifully prepared. For dessert, I went with the mango rice in coconut spinach sauce with black seeds and pralines – truly delicious. I started with a glass of cava and then a Spanish red (Rioja), both perfectly chosen. What I loved most is that Papila feels like it has a strong soul – you can sense the effort, care, and ambition behind it, and that they hold on to their standards. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I’d gladly come back.
Reita H — Google review
Couldn’t have a better start for my visit to Bucharest than an amazing dinner in Papila! 🩵 Loved sincerely every bite of tuna crudo accompanied by some Italian cheese and berries. The lamb with polenta was delicious, too. The 0 % gin based mocktail took me to heaven! Simply five stars for the lovely dishes, warm atmosphere and excellent service! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Katja N — Google review
Even better than anticipated! Beetroot salad was wonderfully different from what I've had previously elsewhere, perfectly balanced. The seaberry ginger lemonade with sparkling water was incredibly refreshing and tasty. Service was really great, very helpful and attentive. Bonus are the local recs posted inside on the wall, much appreciated.
Julie R — Google review
An exceptional place with impeccable service and truly extraordinary food! I went last night for my birthday and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I booked for me and my boyfriend, and we also brought our two little dogs — they were welcomed right away, even with a blanket just for them! I’m vegan, so I had asked in advance if they could adapt something from the menu, and not only did they say yes, but when we arrived they treated me amazingly, giving me great suggestions and so much care throughout the evening. I’ve honestly never had such a wonderful dining experience. Highly, highly recommended! Thank you again for making my birthday so special ❤️

Really nice place. Tried both the Ramen and the non-ramen options during the years. Overall very tasty food. A gem you should not miss.

Sushi restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant Floreasca area, Yoshi Izakaya is a culinary gem that specializes in exquisite sushi crafted by Chef Vova, one of Romania's top Japanese cuisine experts. While the sushi steals the spotlight, don’t overlook their remarkable ramen—an Asian delicacy worth savoring during your visit. The Kacheofugetsu roll is a must-try; it’s packed with flavors from crab, creamy sauce, avocado, cucumber, and tobiko fish eggs.
Food and sake were amazing. We returned here two days in a row to taste more dishes and weren’t disappointed. The only wish is if they play Japanese music would make the experience even more memorable.
Traian C — Google review
Ordered: ramen, udon, sushi rolls, mochi, and tea. Impressions of the Place: Let’s start with the ambiance. The venue is lovely, with a pleasant atmosphere inside. The interior design, tables, and furniture are all very appealing. Though the space isn’t large, it’s sufficient to accommodate a small flow of guests. The dishes are beautifully presented and decorated, making you want to take a bunch of photos of both the food and the restaurant itself. Service and Food Quality: The dishes were prepared relatively quickly, and we didn’t have to wait long. The waitress was friendly, polite, and courteous. As for the food, I found the presentation more impressive than the taste. The udon was excellent, a solid 5/5. However, I’d rate the ramen a 3/5 for my personal taste. Interestingly, my friend loved the ramen, so it might just be a matter of preference. The sushi rolls were standard and scored around 4/5—tasty but slightly untidy, which is acceptable. The mochi was a mixed experience: a 2/5 for me, but my friend gave it a 5/5. We tried the matcha and pistachio flavors, and again, it’s all down to personal taste. The tea (unfortunately, I can’t recall which one) wasn’t to my liking at all. It had a natural herbal flavor with a slight bitterness, reminiscent of medicinal tea. However, I imagine tea enthusiasts might enjoy it. Pricing: In my opinion, the prices are above average. That said, the venue is attractive, the staff is polite and efficient, and the dishes are well presented. For some, the flavors will be delightful; for others, like me, they may feel somewhat average. Suggestions: I’d recommend expanding the ramen menu to include other meat options besides pork. Personally, I didn’t enjoy the pork in the ramen, as I find boiled pork difficult to chew—but that’s just my preference. Adding chicken or tofu (a great option for vegetarians) would be a smart move. Ideally, other dishes could also include more meat options to provide greater flexibility for different tastes.

Best ramen in town, no exaggeration. Extremely friendly staff. Amazing food and drinks, and it also has filtered, cold, free water. 12/10, best restaurant I've been to so far!
Andrei B — Google review
Great restaurant. Lovely decor, great atmosphere, wonderful service and excellent food. Every dish we ordered was just perfect.
Hadas E — Google review
Visited there with my wife. Was surprisingly amazing! The food was beautiful visually and very tasty . The skewers Reminded me of my trip to Thailand.
Oleg L — Google review
The restaurant is charming, the staff is friendly, but the quality of the food needs some improvement. I ordered three bowls of ramen, but unfortunately, they only had one available, even though it was only 2 PM. The ramen I had was very tasty, but the price seemed a bit high for the quality offered. As for the sushi, it didn't meet my expectations. Compared to Sushi Terra, where the sushi is much more delicious, the dishes here were less impressive. If the taste of the food matched its presentation, the price might be justified. Unfortunately, at the moment, the price seems a bit steep compared to the quality provided. I can't say I wouldn't recommend it; I'm glad I tried it, but I wouldn't make a habit of eating here.
Adriana T — Google review
Yoshi Izakaya offers a modern take on the traditional Japanese izakaya, blending authentic flavors with a stylish, artistic ambiance. The menu features some unique and savory options like Wagyu fried roll and Foie gras maki and a variety of delicious skewers.
Dasha E — Google review
Such a great experience! Visited Romania from Chicago - was blown away by the sushi- better than the majority we’ve had back home. I love that you are able to go to an app and call the server that way instead of them checking up often or hardly checking. The taste of the sushi and side dishes were absolutely delicious. The chefs know what they are doing here. Tried some delectable new rolls that they don’t have back in the US and the flavors were unique. If you love sushi try this place.

Authentic Japanese restaurant
Yuki is an authentic Japanese restaurant that serves dishes that are made from scratch. Everything on the menu is homemade, and the interior of the restaurant is cozy and inviting. The food here is traditional Japanese cuisine, and the owners have managed to bring a taste of Japan to Bucharest.
Amazing food that warms your soul and satisfies completely your taste buds . We had ramen and anghila fish. We will come back constantly so we can taste other extraordinary dishes from their menu. Thank you for this magical food! The Yuzu drink is delicious, too!

Make sure you get a reservation if you want to have dinner since the place is very popular. I had to return the next day and have lunch and it was absolutely worth it. The atmosphere is outstanding and so is the food. The set menu is a great idea! The staff took the time to explain everything and I left with a smile on my face!

Me and my husband celebrated my birthday here, and it was a simply wonderful experience! From the moment we arrived, the host was incredibly polite. The wait time for our food was fast, and everything we ordered was delicious. I recommend the Curry Udon and Asahi beer 😋You won't be disappointed!

Not much to say except: great! The fish in soy butter sauce is a must have! As well as the Gyoza and the Udon Porc Soup.
Nicolas F — Google review
This has to be my favorite place by far in Bucharest, whenever I want to eat real authentic Japanese cuisine. The staff is so extremely friendly that it melts my heart. I come here from Iaşi to eat, and because we came to a later hour, they did not have pork based meals. But somehow they accommodated us and prepared said pork based meals. It’s amazingly pleasant atmosphere and it is clear to me that the people here do what they do with extreme passion. Cannot recommend it enough! 10/10

We enjoyed our food, especially the Tonkotsu ramen which felt like it was homemade, perfect for a chilly evening. We also tried the gyoza and kimchi also delicious. The location is very cozy itself.

If you're on the lookout for a vibrant and youthful dining experience, Kanpai is the place to be! This unique izakaya offers a delightful blend of Japanese cuisine in a friendly atmosphere that welcomes everyone. With an impressive menu featuring 13 types of soups, including their standout seafood ramen loaded with bamboo shoots and vegetables, there's something for every palate.
So far is the best Ramen I had in Bucharest. The soups were all very tasty and the garnishes inside very good. The ones we had were beef ramen (both options) and the duck ramen. We also tried shrimp gyoza and chicken gyoza - but we were hungry and ate them before taking photos 😂 And coming to the best part - the cheesecakes! We heard about them, but didn’t raise our expectations. But they are so amazing - smooth and delicate! The best one I considered the original. We also tried mango and chocolate - all had the same texture but the taste was perfect to the simple one. I want to return to try the ramen with pork.

Me and my partner have been to this place over 10 times now. Every time the food is perfectly made, the staff is amazing and the atmosphere is simply lovely. I couldn't recommend this place enough, definetly the best japanase food place in town.
Razvan A — Google review
One of the few places that managed to serve me a dish so memorable that I still think about weeks later. I am talking about the pork ramen, which was easily the best one I had. I am partial to garlic and the ramen delivered high on that. The gyoza was another highlight, perfect end to end. The pricing was okay and during the week you should have no problem finding a table.
Alinnus1 — Google review
I’ve been eating here for a couple of years, lately the food got a bit better. The menu is bigger and they have now more options. I like the atmosphere its very chill and cozy. They added now tonkotsu ramen, soup was a bit too garlicky but still great.

The atmosphere is just lovely! I got a shoyu duck ramen, the mushrooms were incredibly flavorful and the best part for me. The duck meat wasn’t my favorite but overall the ramen was delicious. Also it is quite a big portion, I couldn’t finish it.

Quick serving, nice atmosphere, music not too loud. The ramen was tasty although the egg was cold. The gyoza appetizers fresh and crispy. Recommend the yuzu lemonade

Yoshi Sushi & Teppanyaki is a traditional Japanese restaurant located in Floreasca, offering a modern Japanese environment and a wide variety of delicious Asian cuisine. The restaurant provides an immersive experience with its Teppanyaki cooking style, where the food is prepared right in front of you on a hot stove. The friendly and comfortable interior, along with the attentive service, makes it an inviting place to enjoy sushi and teppanyaki dishes with friends and family.
Great food and great atmosphere. The food delicios and fresh, selection of sushi as much as you want. Nice set up and decoration with nice music. Great place to go in the weekend.

The ramen is nice. Sushi overall really good. The philadelphia roll is the best. The fried icecream was not my favorite but I am impressed of the dessert options. The creme brulee was nice also.
Veronica B — Google review
I think this is the best place for ramen and sushi. Big bowl of ramn with exquisite kimchi flavor and just a little spicy, fresh sushi and just about right gyoza.
Nicolae S — Google review
we came specifically for the ramen but left disappointed. It wasn't bad, but I certainly wouldn't try it again in the future. The taste is very basic, more of a soup from the market, which I did not expect considering the place. Probably the sushi is ok, I didn't try it this time. Instead, the squid skewers were a disaster, cold and drowned in sauce. As for the prices, they seem much too high for what I received, especially for the drinks.

Really nice place. Food was delicious, great starters and special rolls. Kobe and truffle on point. Also the fish in the photo, recommended by the nice waiter Irina(greetings<3) was amazing. Overall, a great experience. Missing one star for food presentation, could be better given the price point.

Japanese restaurant
Benihana is a hibachi chain located in the heart of Bucharest, within the Sheraton hotel. It offers authentic Japanese teppanyaki cuisine and a sushi bar. The restaurant recreates an oriental setting with traditional Japanese ceramic ware, authentic kimonos, and haiku calligraphy adorning the lighting fixtures. Unlike Ginger Sushi Bar & Lounge, Benihana is a more generalist restaurant with an extensive menu featuring sophisticated Japanese dishes not commonly found elsewhere in Bucharest.
The experience of live cooking is very fun and the food was great. I recommend the menu. The meat is different but rice, veggies, salad and sauces are included and pretty good. Also a miso soup and lemon sorbet. You can share with friends as well and try different options. Its great!
Veronica B — Google review
A delightful experience! Chef Rene was exactly what we needed—funny, attentive, and charismatic. The rice was delicious (the rest of the menu was fine too), the service was impeccable and the hibachi experience was absolutely worth every penny!
Burghelea O — Google review
I visited Benihana for my friend’s birthday lunch on February 12, 2025, I must say we had a fantastic time! The food was delicious, our chef was not only skilled but also incredibly entertaining, he made sure our meals were cooked quickly since we were on a tight schedule. A special shoutout to (Lonut), who gave us a warm welcome and went the extra mile to ensure we got a table at Benihana when there was some confusion at the front desk. Unfortunately, the lady at the front desk initially tried to redirect us to a different restaurant in the same building, which was disappointing, but thanks to Lonut, everything worked out perfectly. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely return!

Went to Benihana to celebrate finishing my Master’s and my boyfriend and I were taken care of by Chef Rene, a charismatic and very talented cook. The food was delicious, very fresh and well prepared, atmosphere was incredible and I would definitely suggest booking a show table so you can enjoy the teppanyaki style cooking. All in all a wonderful experience and we will definitely return!

Amazing on-the-spot cooking show. Great quality ingredients amazingly cooked in front of you with flair and humour by real asian chefs. Now the room itself is not bad, but NOT that inviting or well decorated - there's no dividers, no sense of privacy, no sense of decor. Still 5* but just because of the food quality.

Delicious food, fantastic service, wonderful experience. Our chef Anthony was very fun, and made us some delicious food (Steak, chicken, prawns, hibachi rice and veggies). The whole staff were very welcoming and kind. And the food, of course was fantastic. 5 star experience all around.

Average food but with a nice show and extreme high prices. Be very careful to lower your expectations when you go there.

Restaurant
Last summer, while wasting time on Instagram, we stumbled upon a charming little place that caught our attention. Intrigued, we decided to pay a visit to Ai Sushi Bar located at Paris Street 71. The cozy and slightly hipster ambiance instantly appealed to us. Unfortunately, this year we have only ordered from them once (we promise to make up for it), but the quality remains consistent with our previous experience at their establishment.
Great tuna tartar, beef too... next time we'll try the sushi too
Andrei A — Google review
Very small place, with tables on the street and within an uncomfortable distance from each other. The actual inside of the restaurant is actually a basement, which is extremely claustrophobic. Even for the area, their prices are very high, and the food really isn’t the best. The service is lacking, with waiters that seem bored and uninterested in helping out customers. Definitely wouldn’t be my first choice for an outing in Bucharest, as it’s truly disappointing.
Teodora F — Google review
Average sushi, too expensive for that quality, tempura had an oil taste for the first time in my life. Too much noise for a sushi bar. I would rate a 7 of 10 for overall experience and probably i will not come back again. There are a lot of better sushi restaurants in the town.
Iurie P — Google review
The sushi was great! Price was a bit high and the music was rather loud but overall a very good experience
Menno — Google review
The food is excellent, I tried sashimi, nigiri, maki and dumplings and all were really tasty and fresh, but the service was incredibly bad. It took like forever to order and the waiters were bothered that we wanted to order, 2 items were requested again because they forgot, they had no clue what the maki rolls were so we could differentiate between what each ordered, so it was really unprofessional and rude. I would maybe come back for the food, but expect bad service. Chairs and tables are uncomfortable, placed right in the street.
Cristina N — Google review
Terrible service. The order came after 40 minutes. I got the wrong dish. The waiter did not take care of our table. Had to ask 4 times for water. At the end, the waiter charged 15% tip without asking or me suggesting. It was too late until I noticed as I’ve already paid by card. Never again.

If I could describe this whole place with one word it would be "meh" it's not horrible but it's not amazing either. The princes are high but that's expect considering the location, the service is good but the food is just... meh... the location itself is... meh, the atmosphere is.... meh, the drinks are....meh

One of the coolest places in town with amazing food & cocktails. Besides sushi, make sure you try their amazing katsu & panko chicken or delicious shitake omelette

Authentic Japanese restaurant
Nestled on Calea Serban Voda, Sushi Garden is a charming eatery that beautifully captures the essence of Japanese culture. This intimate spot, set in a quaint house with a lovely garden designed in traditional Japanese style, offers an inviting atmosphere perfect for any dining experience. While sushi is the star here, the menu also features delightful options like ramen and noodles made from fresh, high-quality ingredients. The ambiance is cozy and romantic, making it ideal for couples or small gatherings.
Amazing place, not too expensive, and eound of water calms you down.

really good good and nice atmosphere, has a fish pond, zen garden and nice places to take pictures. the staff rarely comes outside so the wait time is kinda loong but not too bad. prices are good compared to other sushi places in the city

I came with some friends after seeing this place on IG. I was excited about a Japanese restaurant! When we arrived we had to wait quite a while until someone came out to sit us, even though we had a reservation. Then the waiter, while being really nice, took forever to come get our order, to bring out the drinks, and later to bring out the food. I can see it taking longer to cook but it felt a bit too long tbh. On the matter of the food, I got pork gyoza (which were delicious!) and the chicken curry which I was a bit disappointed with. The curry sauce tasted more like Indian curry than Japanese curry so, while it was good, it wasn't really what you'd expect from a Japanese restaurant... :/ From my understanding, the menu seems to change quite a bit, as the menu we got and the foods I've seen reviewed by others are different, so I might come back again to try some other dishes, but yeah, I wasn't particularly impressed with the food, I must admit. The atmosphere was excellent tho! We stayed outside and it was lovely!
Ennun — Google review
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our dinner here. It is a very cute place with a Japanese looking set-up tables. Funnily enough, we did not have sushi, but we went for noodles and a vegetarian ramen. It was quite empty when we arrived, but then people slowly started to arrive. We also enjoyed Asahi beer and a matcha lemonade. It was a bit too sweet for my taste, but tasty anyways :)
Kristína B — Google review
Sushi was good, fresh. Ramen also good, bit small but good
Juliana — Google review
I had a cracking sushi here, proper recommended it was—better than fresh-caught stuff straight from the ocean and plonked on the beach, I reckon. Blimey, the rolls were spot on: fresh ingredients, perfect rice that wasn't mushy or dry, and flavors that popped without being over the top. I'm from Northampton originally, but I was in Bucharest on a bit of a jaunt (flew in cheap from Luton to OTP, as you do), and stumbled upon this spot while wandering about after some dodgy dental drama elsewhere in town. Needed something light and tasty to cheer me up, and this place delivered big time. The staff were friendly without being pushy, prices weren't daylight robbery (about what you'd pay back home for decent takeaway), and the vibe was chill—nice little spot to sit and people-watch. If you're a sushi fan like me, whether you're local or just passing through Romania, I'd heartily recommend giving it a go. No regrets here; I'd pop back in a heartbeat next time I'm over. Cheers to that!

Ruka Izakaya is a modern Japanese restaurant known for its sensory experience and innovative design. The menu offers a variety of options including sushi, sashimi, tempura, teriyaki, as well as meat and fish specialties. The atmosphere is cozy with dimly lit tables and excellent cocktails. Guests have praised the attentive service and quality of dishes such as the Volcano Rolls, baby spinach salad with sesame sauce, wagyu beef burger, and tuna sashimi in truffle sauce.
Everything was very very good. From the staff, which was extremely friendly and open to suggest and describe the menu, to the sophisticated food which was absolutely delicious. It was hard to decide what to order, but finally we got some duck spring rolls, crushy shrimps, volcano rolls, shrimp bao and izakaya garden for dessert.
Alexandra S — Google review
Ramen was pretty good. Deserts we didn't like, and one of them was barely touched, yet we weren't offered any compensation from, otherwise, very friendly waiting staff. The vibe is nice too if a touch too loud on the music for my liking.
Konstantin S — Google review
The rating I would have given is honestly 3.5 stars, but since I can’t give half-stars, it will remain a 3. We ordered sushi, vegetable gyoza, vegetable tempura, and salmon sashimi. It would have been a perfectly mediocre Japanese restaurant, but then came the dessert – strawberry and mango mochi – which was downright offensive. Not only did it have nothing in common with traditional Japanese dessert, but it was inedible. The cream was extremely artificial, and the outer texture was beyond criticism – it resembled melted candle wax. Unacceptable. I took just one bite and instantly regretted it. I could’ve even overlooked the fact that they brought cutlery along with chopsticks if the food had actually been good, but that detail should’ve already been a warning sign. Overall, a place that feels more like a club or a bar could’ve had any theme other than Japanese. I won’t be returning – the lasting impression was just money wasted.

Temperature a bit high inside for summer. The staff is nice, friendly, however there can be mistakes on the bill so i suggest checking it twice before leaving. If you think it was more expensive than you thought, well most likely you got charged incorrectly. Food was good, plating as well.

Really good food, nice vibe, great prices. The raw food was very fresh and tasty. A bit hard to decide what to order if you go alone or as a couple, because there are so many good dishes. Highly recommend the Ikebana Garden dessert for ending the meal. It is different than any dessert I tried before.

If you're a sushi enthusiast or just dipping your toes into the world of Japanese cuisine, Sushi Terra at Veranda Mall in Sector 2 is an experience you won't want to miss. This charming restaurant stands out not only as their first location in the capital but also for its stunning ambiance that many visitors rave about. Renowned food bloggers like Chicineta, Hoinaru, and Andressa have praised it as one of the top spots for sushi in Bucharest.
Last time we were here at the end of August and ordered different type of sushi, not the typical boat they have, and to be honest everything we ordered was amazing. Highly recommend!! Will return for sure.

The sushi was fresh and well-presented, and the ambiance was nice. However, the food felt a bit overrated for the price—good but not amazing. Service was friendly but slow during peak hours. Still, a solid spot for sushi lovers! 🍣

Disgusting service!!! Never go there! We went to this restaurant with my family because we love this restaurant very much. We usually eat at a different address, but we were nearby and decided to go to this one. When we entered the restaurant, no one from the service staff approached us, we waited about 10 minutes for them to come up to us and wipe the dirty table from the previous guests. Then our order was brought to us. We were with children and a 4-year-old child caught a bone from a fish and her mother started sorting the sushi from the bones (I’ll attach a photo from the restaurant). Afterwards I ate a piece and realized that the bone was stuck in my throat. We asked the waiter Florin to explain what it was, he just took me to the chef. Chef Vitaly said that they are not obliged to remove all the bones from the fish. When we asked to call the manager or bring us a book of complaints, they refused. We asked to redo the order and since we were in a hurry we were offered to take it away. We didn’t pay for the sushi set. But when we came home, we decided to eat it anyway, and that sushi still had fish bones, A LOT OF BONES! They didn't redo the order, but simply transferred the remaining sushi to another container!!! Unfortunately I had to have surgery to remove a fish bone from my throat. I contacted them on social media(Instagram) but I didn’t get any reply. Since the management never contacted me and did not solve the problem in any way, I am going to contact the European Commission for Consumer Rights

Really good dining experience for sushi lovers in Bucharest. The wonderful aquariums add a nice touch to the restaurant’s atmosphere. The sushi is fresh and nicely presented. I especially recommend the dragon rolls and the udon noodles. Sometimes there are moments when you might wait a bit longer than expected to get a table, but the staff is attentive and quick.
Andreea M — Google review
Great service and atmosphere and overall good food. The lemonades had tasted excellent. The tempura edamame was alright. The gyoza was tasty, but a bit too crunchy for me. The sushi impeccable, the sweet chilli chicken quite flavourful but more sweet than I expected, and the soba noodles with chcken were great too. In the end we had a good time and spent about 255 lei( 51 euros).
Ionut R — Google review
Best sushi I ever had. Really good quality. Absolutely delicious stuff on the menu. Had the tom yum soup and the biggest platter to share with 2 other friends and it was perfect. Nice decor inside as well with the aquariums. Recommended 100%

Spacious and bright restaurant surrounded by beautiful aquariums for a relaxing atmosphere. The menu was full of yummy choices and the dishes were really nice. The portion sizes were in the average but they tasted delicious! Recommend dishes from the menu: Duck with noodles Seafood tempura Tuna steak The boat of sushi and sashimi The non alcoholic drinks were amazing as well: the mango and pineapple one was the best but the iced white tea with ginger was also very good. The service was quick and professional. Overall a very pleasant experience and I would definitely come back. Perfect restaurant for dates.

Restaurant
Sagakura America House is a Japanese restaurant located in the heart of Bucharest, near Victoriei. It aims to bring a taste of Asian street culture to its patrons. Visitors have praised the cozy atmosphere and quick, polite service. While some found the food not as impressive as expected, others enjoyed dishes like pork ramen and pork bao buns paired with a special cocktail.
The service was perfect (thank you Cosmin), the food and drinks were good (I had Wagyu fried rice and I tried the pancakes- you should order them). The signature cocktail (Pear-Hyogo) was quite good, a bit too sweet for my taste, but with an interesting flavor. I can say the only inconvenient was the distance between the tables…But the playlist was one of the best I’ve heard. Overall, I would recommend the place. :)
Maria D — Google review
Very nice establishment, has a nice homey feel with a lot of pottery and clay sculptures around the place. The food is catered to the Japanese cuisine. Great sushi! The waygu fried rice was amazing, must try. The drinks were okay but mixed well, my dinner partner seemed to REALLY enjoy the cinnamon whiskey cocktail, said it was one of the best semi-sweet drinks they’ve tried in Bucharest. This place requires reservations.
Geneva D — Google review
Very beautiful setting, warm cosy and pretty. Food was amazing, has so much flavour and everything was fresh and Good qaulity. The cocktail are really nice, which i had the pear-hyogo and sake sagakura. Unfortunately we didn't have a great service, I book this for my partners birthday and was disappointed, we waited 1hr30min for our food. As we was waiting the restaurant got busier, and the people that got there after us still got there food quicker then we did. The waitress firstly came up to us 1hr after and asked us to confirm what we ordered which was a concern, then again come back to explain why the food was late. It was only sushi we ordered, and ribeye. That's the only downfall we had but apart from that all good. Wouldn't go back there due to this , services is key.

I had a very pleasant experience at Sagakura American House. The staff was super friendly and attentive - definitely a highlight! The first course was excellent, both in taste and presentation. The second course was decent - not as impressive, but still tasty. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. Definitely a place worth coming back to!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sagakura is hands down one of the best restaurants in the city. The atmosphere is amazing — stylish, cozy, and beautifully decorated, making every visit feel special. The food is simply spectacular: the ramen is the best you’ll find anywhere, rich in flavor and perfectly balanced; the bao buns are out of this world; and the sushi is always fresh and expertly prepared. Every dish feels crafted with care and passion. I absolutely love this place and keep coming back — it’s easily a top restaurant in town!

Quite disappointing experience. The food was average and inconsistent in quality. Giving the fact that it's advertised as an Asian restaurant i would've expect to find chopsticks on the table. Nope, we had to ask for them. The smell was quite heavy, as well. Especially on the ground floor (sewer smell). The cocktails were ok. Indoor and outdoor sitting. Friendly service
Oana P — Google review
Came in for a Saturday meal, ordered two ramen and gyoza, took around 45 minutes to receive our food. Gyoza came after the ramen. Not impressed with the quality and definitely not worth the price. The ramen was very salty and with a lot of garlic, someone else said it was garlic soup and they are right. Meat was very chewy, mushrooms as well, and also salty. And it’s the first time I didn’t finish the broth when eating ramen. The gyoza was not spectacular either, and we were fighting off green flies coming on our food all the time. The matcha latte was the most expensive and strange one I had. It was probably combined with something, but not to my liking.
Andrei D — Google review
Oriyami is an asian gem in the heart of Alba Iulia Square. The dining experience was exceptional, from the delicious sushi rolls and tempura shrimp to the perfectly prepared octopus with sweet potatoes and gyoza. The service was top-notch, and the restaurant's modern and clean decor enhanced the already enjoyable ambiance. The beautiful view over the square adds an extra touch of charm to the experience. Not to mention, the well-crafted cocktails and complimentary house desserts were the perfect way to end the meal. Overall, Oriyami delivered an excellent dining experience with delectable food, great service, and a lovely atmosphere. Ohh...and a lot of parking spaces in Alba Iulia Square and a taxi station in front, so, that is a big plus for this place. We served and recommend: sushi rolls - tuna obsession and dragon, octopus with sweet potatoes, shrimp tempura, gyoza, cocktails!
Andreea S — Google review
Today was the only time I visited this place, based on the good rating. Unfortunately, the food was underwhelming. I ordered a ramen which was clearly not cooked from scratch. The broth and the rest of the ingredients were cooked completely separate and it was like a garlic soup with some defrosted beef meat added. The presentation was also lacking. It just looked gross. For the same price you can get much better ramen in Bucharest.
Ioana F — Google review
Ordered Tuna special rolls (tempura) and fried rice and both were delicious and fresh. Also, the stuff was super helpful, next level service. I totally recommend this place, if you are looking for a good asian/sushi place

The BEST sushi in Bucharest! Food is excellent and fairly priced, which, especially in the area, is difficult to come across. Everything is fresh and I’ve never had any problems after eating here. I recently dined at Nadasan nord, and while the experience was pleasant enough for a one-time visit, it didn’t leave a strong impression that would bring me back. The restaurant’s location is a bit out of the way, making it a commitment to get there. The ambiance was inviting, and the staff was courteous, but nothing truly stood out. The food was decent—well-prepared but lacking a unique flair or memorable flavors. It was enjoyable in the moment, yet not remarkable enough to justify another trip. Overall, if you’re looking for a place to try once, it’s a fine choice. But for a repeat visit? Probably not.

Pagaia Carol is a popular spot known for its good food at reasonable prices, often with discounts available. The egg & feta ciabata is a standout item, although it may not look exactly as advertised. Despite the sparse egg and cheese spread, the ciabata remains excellent and worth trying. The establishment has a loyal following, having moved locations due to Covid-19 but still attracting familiar faces. Their pita chicken dish is highly recommended for its delicious taste.
Not your usual fast-food place! The Shaorma Pui is tasty and healthy. Great packaging, amiable services and good music. Thank you!

Good food at good prices, usually 30% or more off on Bolt. I like the egg & feta ciabata but the sandwich looks nothing like the picture at all. The ciabata is excellent but there is barely any egg it's more like butter on bread as the egg is more of an egg and cheese pate sparsely spread over the bread. That being said it's still very good! I definitely recommend giving it a try.

Great place. They had a lovely shop in Pipera and Pagaia kept us well fed and spoiled, but then Covid19 happened and they moved here. I even saw some familiar faces. Now I work nearby and I can taste their divine food again. Just ate a pita chicken . Yummy. If you are nearby visit them and your tummy will thank you😁😊
Cazacu A — Google review
This indeed used to be a very good restaurant in Pipera. Probably the best. Since they moved, the only thing I can recognize is the brand logo. I tried a few things from the menu. Today I ordered a quesadilla with guacamole. They delivered half of it with eggplant salad. No notice, no nothing. Absolutely disappointing and mediocre at it's best. They definetly don't have the same cook or the same tools. Using the Pagaia name is just an insult to the quality they used to deliver when in Pipera. RIP Pagaia Edit: it was today's Bolt Food order #SQZKZ. I've sent pictures to Bolt and they reimbursed me. Why send a customer only half the portion? I would have called you directly but you have a website with no contact details.
Bogdan F — Google review
Almost entirely excellent, the only exception is that that they put parsley in the guacamole instead of the advertised coriander, and the avocados were extremely underripe. Maybe just avoid the guac.

Its a nice place, the music was a bit too high...its more like a snack place ...no tables just some kind of plank with high chairs.... not to relax...but eat quickly and go. ...but I was hoping that food will be better ...unfortunately not impressed by thier food - simple..plain flavor (etable) ...expensive & small portions...I think I've eaten better food in a cafeteria.

At the end of 2024, Hushimo unveiled their ramen bar, Ni Shibo, in Piata Amzei, and it quickly became a hit! With its design and menu that transport you straight to Tokyo, Ni Shibo offers an authentic taste of Japan. The chicken shoyu ramen and miso are popular choices among visitors. The ambiance is inviting and perfect for food enthusiasts looking to enjoy a meal with friends.
The place is really rough and narrow. One can appreciate the post industrial concrete vibe of the establishment but I can only appreciate the commitment to follow this direction. The food was incredible. I was very surprised by the quality, quantity and the uniqueness of the offer. Definitely the kind of place that I would go back to just to explore the rest of the.menu. The lemonade was okay but I would have appreciated a mentioned about the honey in it or a spoon.

Good food but doesnt rise above others. The takoyaki as a starter was nice. The seabream ramen was very tasty and probably the best dish. The shio was lacking flavour. The noodles were really nice in both ramens but didnt make up for the rest of the dish. Place is modern but a bit "cold". Needs a touch of Japan maybe?
Serban D — Google review
The chicken shoyu ramen and miso are very good (not the best I've tasted in Bucharest, but I would come back here), the vibe of the place is really nice, and the atmosphere is relaxing – a perfect spot for foodies. It's worth mentioning that you'll probably be seated at a table with other people, so if you value privacy or are looking for a more intimate setting, it might not be the best fit. It's the perfect restaurant for a night out with friends.

Nishibo Ramen Bar is hands down the best ramen spot in Bucharest. The noodles are absolutely top-notch, made in-house with a super machine that you can’t help but admire. I’ve tried all their recipes – each one delicious, beautifully served, and visually on the next level. The ingredients are of the highest quality, and they also offer an excellent selection of sake. The design is simple, urban, and full of symbolic details, with an open kitchen that lets you see and feel everything happening. Through the steam rising from the ramen bowls, you catch glimpses of the lively street outside the large windows. It’s such a unique vibe – definitely my kind of location. Highly recommend!

Tried it. Loved it! We come at least once a week to eat. I hope this restaurant outlives the customers that come with the hype. Since I tried all the dishes, I recommend al of them. And since I’ve been eating for a while here, I can let you know, the recepies are improving each time we come by. The staff is polite and quick to serve. Sometimes is busy so try to be patient with the kitchen staff durin it’s rush hours or during weekends.

I blame myself for picking the experimental ramen, a mazemen (which I usually enjoy) that tasted more like a carbonara than anything else. I know this wasn't supposed to be a classic ramen dish, but with that in mind it still didn't cut it. The pieces of meat was great, but other than that it didn't tick any boxes. The ramen noodles was in reality spaghetti that stuck together in large chunks. I also tried the chicken karaage, which was really disappointing.
Marius A — Google review
We visited this ramen place in July and the service was perfect from start to finish. I tried the Cheesy Maze Men Beef Brisket, which was a limited edition and honestly, it was incredible. The beef was tender and juicy, with a rich, savory flavor that melted in your mouth, perfectly balanced with the cheesy, umami-packed noodles. My partner had the Miso Ramen, which was comforting and flavorful, with a deep tasty broth and perfectly cooked noodles. Portions were generous, and the overall experience made it clear why this place stands out. Definitely a spot I’d return to, especially for the special limited-edition dishes.
Monica T — Google review
I tried the miso ramen here and was pretty disappointed. The broth had vinegar added, which gave it a strange taste and didn’t resemble authentic miso ramen. The pork meat was tough and lacked flavor. It made the bowl less enjoyable. On the positive side, the karaage chicken was tasty—tender, crispy, and well-seasoned. Overall, if you’re after authentic ramen, this probably isn’t the place, but the chicken is worth a try.

Ramen restaurant
Japanos is a popular spot in the heart of Old Town Bucharest, offering a variety of Japanese dishes such as ramen, sushi, Japanese salad, and sandwiches. The menu features a daily rotating selection including Japanese wok dishes, curry rice, yakisoba, gyoza, noodles, tonkatsu, and Katsu don. The cozy atmosphere is enhanced by the presence of Take San, a Japanese chef.
Great place to have Japanese food, especially Ramen and Bento boxes, which is what they specialize in. The Ramen is to die for! Staff is helpful and friendly and the ambiance is relaxing and welcoming

Went in a group of 4 in February, booked a tatami room. They were all empty anyway. The window doesn't close properly and since it was February, inside it got kinda cold. The serving was very slow. The food was ok, very nicely priced. The desserts were strange (taste, not looks).
Madalina P — Google review
Very good ramen in the heart of Old Town Bucharest. I’m glad this great Japanese food has finally made it into Romania; they claim the menu itself has been put together by a Japanese chef. I quite liked the spicy ramen I had, and they also have warm sake, as well as a variety of Japanese beers. Very good spot in Bucharest to satisfy that ramen craving. The staff is also very courteous and nice, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you get.
Dan B — Google review
Great place to eat Japanese cuisine in Bucharest, fish was fresh and rice was amazing. I also recommend to taste ramen, one of the best i have ever eaten.
Alberto Z — Google review
Very modern and sleek interior. It's a good small japanese restaurant to get a simple lunch at. The price is good, but there are only 2 sizes of ramen bowls to choose from; M is a small bowl while the XXL is presumably just a normal large bowl. So if you are very hungry, don't expect M to be filling.

This machine can't boil noodles. Ramen is cold, bad smelly and has no umami. Very tasteless.

Cheap and super tasty! The stuff was excellent and helpful. It's a small and warm restaurant. You should visit!

Sanki Ramen Bar, a delightful pop-up restaurant in Bucharest, was established by Andrei Isac and Ayfer Cadir in 2020. Open three evenings a week at the Ou location, it has quickly become a favorite among ramen enthusiasts. The menu features an array of delicious options, including tonkotsu and shio ramen, complemented by homemade noodles and rich broths that showcase careful ingredient selection.
I’m happy that the ramen movement in Bucharest is growing stronger and stronger. This place is one of the top few places to have Japanese ramen as it should be. I like the bowl's elements. It's not the most authentic, but it is surely delicious. Amazing drinks are the plus. 📝 The only critique that I have is that the spoon for the soup could be bigger so it not keep falling in the bowl. And the shoyu eggs could be less salty. Overall, great experience!
Janissa J — Google review
I came to this restaurant with high expectations, but unfortunately, I left very disappointed. From the beginning, it took quite a long time for someone to come and take my order—even though the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. After finally ordering, the wait for the food was also unreasonably long. One small positive note: a staff member kindly asked me if I would like some spicy sauce, which I appreciated. I said, “Yes, please,” but the sauce never arrived until I had only one bite of ramen left. I had already given up waiting and started eating my long-delayed meal. The disappointing service didn’t end there. When I went to pay, the staff was asked if I wanted to leave a tip. I said no And he not even say thank you or anything. In my opinion, the taste of the food was not worth the excessive wait, and the overall service left much to be desired. To top it off, I wasn’t even thanked after making the payment. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was truly underwhelming.

Hearty and lovely ramen- tried both chicken and pork and it was sooo goood. Highly recommend making a reservation beforehand as the seats are limited. Will come back for sure. Try the negroni asian - super nice flavors.
Katy C — Google review
Friendly service and hearty ramen bowls in one of the coziest family-run restaurants in Bucharest. The marinated eggs add depth to the ramen soup, which is flavorful without overpowering ingredients. It is a pop-up event, therefore reservation-based. There are different ramen styles, so probably won't meet all tastes and expectations, but do yourself and your tastebuds a favor and try it out!
Valentina P — Google review
The cocktails were very good. The food was good, but not great. The broth was very good, but the meat was a bit dry, the egg wasn't pickled enough, and the ramen needed more noodles, veggies, and meat.
Andrei B — Google review
so so good! I went to Japan this summer & have been looking for good ramen this was super good!!!!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🤩🤩🤩

Best ramen in town! me and my girlfriend really enjoyed the food and the service. We had two types of ramen, tonktosu and shio, and also gyozas. We loved them. Great care into choosing the ingredients and the final product was a result of a lot of thought and hard work. It was delicios! Homemade noodles, rich and tasty broth, the pork meat was so tender and the fat really melted. Also the tomato was such a surprising and tasty addition. We came at 20:00, busy hours, but the staff was very attentive and the food came in about 30 minutes. Nothing bad to say. We had a great time and the food was delicious.

Got there and asked for an English menu, didn't have any English menu. They wanted to tell me the entire menu of 50 items or more lol. Then the waiter got my order wrong. Got my sushi and make rolls are half normal ones in East and west europe, 6 pieces is equivalent as 3. So yeah expensive and disorganised. No idea why high reviews!!! I go try sushi in every city and this is definitely no good. Hopefully they make changes then they should be maybe ok.

I went there for an "all you can eat" menu. What I was served was not the real deal, but some sort of reinterpreted sushi. The food was ok, but not the high quality sushi I was hoping for.

By far the best sushi and ramen in town. Very nice place and I experienced the best serving possible.
