Bakery
Pastry shop
Isgro Pastries is a historic bake shop that has been serving up delectable Italian pastries since 1904. Founded by Italian immigrants, the shop continues to be a neighborhood favorite, located near the Italian market in South Philly. The bakery is renowned for its handmade treats such as rum cake, cannoli, and other baked goods made in small batches using high-quality ingredients. The exact recipe for their Sicilian delicacies remains a closely guarded family secret.
Unless you are going on off hours, be prepared to wait. The cannolis here are arguable the best in the city but don’t let that overshadow the other excellent options. I even got a strawberry shortcake 🍰 from here for my birthday and it was delectable. My recommendation, get what you are going there to get and anything else that gets you excited, it’s gonna be amazing. They also take credit cards 💳😮‍💨

Hands down the BEST cannoli I’ve ever had. And believe me, I know cannoli. I’m a connoisseur of sorts. I’ve had them in Italy, New York, Boston, and pretty much anywhere else they have them. Unless you’re on a flight to Italy, these are going to be your best bet, even then, I’d do a side by side taste test and they might actually win. So do it. Just go. Get a cannoli or three. You won’t regret it! And if you do, then sorry, you don’t know a good Italian cannoli.
Sarah R — Google review
When we checked out and it was $21 for a small box of cookies, I thought to myself “these better be the best Italian cookies I’ve ever had in my life” ….and it only took a few bites from a sampling of our cookie selection to confirm they are indeed the best cookies I’ve ever had in my life. Take all of my money!!! So delicious!
Casey V — Google review
A century-old Italian pastry shop 🇮🇹✨ Their soft cookies totally surprised me — especially the anise-flavored one, so unique! 🍪 The cheesecake is definitely worth a try, but fair warning… it’s very sweet — enjoy it one small bite at a time 😋💛
GSTonyTseng — Google review
I’m no expert on what’s the best cannolo tasted like but this is pretty tasty. Lots of cookies and cake varieties. Even custom cakes are available.
Jean N — Google review
I am giving 2 * because people over there are super polite and trying to be helpful. It’s not their fault that the owner bakes the worst and grocery store quality pastries in their shop. I bought 8-9 different kinds of desserts and all were old, hard and taste like sugar nothing more. Very awfully sweet with no special note or touch of anything. I would buy 1* low rated prepacked cookies, would definitely taste better 🤢
Sharareh A — Google review
Few places can get away with charging such high prices, but here, it feels like it's justified. Everything I've tried here is amazing and begs to be savored. Best thing so far has been the pecan tart. As usual, my chief complaint is the $10 minimum for cards. No one carries cash anymore. In that respect, they could stand to catch up with the times a bit.
Sithis R — Google review
Stopped here after walking the Italian market on a Saturday, saw the line and knew we were in for something amazing! The line moved pretty quickly and the staff was friendly and helpful. We got a couple different kinds of cookies, some Phillies cupcakes and a cheese danish. Everything we've tried so far has been incredible and we can't wait to go downtown again to get more!

Metropolitan Bakery is a renowned establishment that has been serving the community since 1993. Despite the challenges faced by bakeries during recent times, Metropolitan Bakery has continued to impress with its housemade granola, artisanal bread, cookies, cakes, croissants, and locally-sourced jams and spreads. The bakery's multiple locations in Philadelphia ensure consistent quality across all outlets. Additionally, their cafe offers a delectable selection of breakfast dishes, salads, sandwiches, and freshly made pastries.
So cute! Wish this place would have sitting areas as it has a lovely vibe and the coffees are wonderful. Tried the raspberry crumb bar and I highly recommend it (it was a little sweet so beware). Today I’m trying the chocolate flourless cake. The chocolate layer cake has also been recommended by local friends :)

Cute little corner storefront. Excellent bottled beverages. Perfectly prepared ice lattes. So many baked goods to choose from. The space is small and quite busy but a great spot to pop in for a treat before or after the Sunday market.

Service was phenomenal! The lady that helped us was friendly ❤️. We had drip coffee and chocolate croissants. So delicious, airy and flakey. Highly recommend -- all their baked goods looked beautiful.

Everyone was so nice!!! It was reasonably priced and tasted so good! I got the midnight brownie and rosemary focaccia and it was honestly the best focaccia I've had in this city. I will definitely be coming back.

Little bakery with homemade bakery. Fast service. Coffee is decent. Cakes sold full or by half only, I wish they could sell slices only. I had the bread pudding and it was a little dry and too much cinnamon.

Great bakery. In fact, our dog gets very protective when he gets a Metropolitan Bakery dog biscuit!
Christian M — Google review
Ordered a Prosciutto Baguette. Bread was extremely fresh, almost like it was just out of the oven. The sandwich had a nice touch of basil pesto, enough of arugula, and a good amount of prosciutto. Delicious and on point! Once again, can't recommend their bread enough!

Got a coffee and a lemon bar, both were good and I’ll be back to try out some of the other pastries they offer. Wish they had some seating inside but understand space is very limited in the bakery.

K'Far Cafe is a welcoming Israeli-style bakery and café. They offer delicious small plates and drinks along with traditional pastries. The cafe has a polished retro setup and is perfect for breakfast or brunch.
Wanted something different today. Stopped in. Small but cozy cafe. Table seating as well as elevated seating. They also have outdoor seating. Really nice clean establishment! I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich. Was good. Made a little different, but good. Also had the PitashioC Cinnamon Roll. Delicious slightly warmed up! You can see staff making the dishes.
Thomas C — Google review
It’s such a cute cafe with friendly staff. As soon as we entered, we were immediately greeted and seated. the glass water bottle were already chilled on the table and ready for you to self serve. Yemenite latte: very light coffee flavor. Chai latte: it smelled like it had a lot of Spice and kick to it but once you drank it, the drink itself was pretty bland The smoke salmon bagel: delicious! But wish it had more salmon! I would come back to try their pastries !
Kim N — Google review
Wish I lived in Philly, specifically across the street so that i can drop by anytime. First time trying Jerusalem bagels and they were divine. The sticky buns were amazing as well as the rugelach. Actually everything is wonderful. Must visit if visiting Philly. A little bit of a wait to get seated but there is plenty of seating so the wait was pretty quick. Even if the wait was an hour it will be well worth the wait.
Rob J — Google review
Each item ordered got progressively better and it started high. Had the Yemenite iced coffee with a mascarpone danish. Blasts of cinnamon and spice. Followed by an egg sandwich with cooper sharp and za’atar. Followed that up with a brown sugar ricotta kubaneh toast. I think the melted cooper sharp cheddar enhance the crispy bagel sandwich the best. Excellent service. Sat outside in the warm sun. Will be back.
Dave Z — Google review
K’far is about to change your life. This cafe is unbelievable for so many reasons that I can’t wait to get into. I went here 2 days in a row, got the exact same meal, and both times was as equally amazed, let me tell you why. K’Far provides a very unique menu, that is carefully thought out, not overly complicated and executed to perfection. It’s the only place that I’ve been to for brunch that i can say NAILED all categories. The coffee is insanely flavorful, the drip and iced coffees are packed with flavor, ZERO burnt aftertaste and so robust. The pistachio sticky bun is EASILY the best pastry I have had all year. There’s literally nothing like it anywhere and it’s served warm with a soft, but crunchy texture, not overly sweet at all and it’s honestly life changing. Then the entrees, and I gotta say thank you for ruining any other bagel I’ve ever had. The Jerusalem bagel egg sandwich is a blast of flavor. The crisp, not overly bready or salty bagel is so good and even though it looks simple, there’s nothing like it. The classic Philly Coopers sharp, soft egg and crunchy bagel are a match made in heaven. I suggest just adding the avocado on the side as the only modification. The Arabic salad is packed with flavor, with a subtle but delicious lemony sauce and earthy Za’taar make for a match made in heaven. I am also blown away by their consistency. I honestly came two days in a row, ordered the exact same items and they tasted the exact same on both days. That’s a very difficult thing to do. All of this is brought together by the beautiful interior, attentive service from their knowledgeable staff, and also the comfort of their reasonable prices. I’ll be dreaming of that Jerusalem bagel and can’t wait to come back to Philly to come back to K’far. This spot was way better than some of the popular places that get all the attention which in all honesty fell short of expectations for me. Don’t doubt it, come to K’far and see for yourself. This place does things so well, it comes access as simple. But it’s far from it, it’s unique and memorable.
Farshad P — Google review
Oh my goodness, amazing. I currently can’t have dairy or soy and the Tunisian tuna salad fit the bill. It was SO FLAVORFUL. The shakshuka boreka was also delicious, as was the pistachio sticky bun. Homemade chai and oat milk lattes were also good. Cali was our server and she was phenomenal. She brought our dog water and was very accommodating of my current allergies. Even when things were busy she was thorough and prompt. The outdoor seating is perfect - there’s a shade cover. Will come back here anytime we’re in Philly.
Nora H — Google review
K'Far has long been on my radar due to the fact there is always a long line down the block to get in, but I figured it was all trendy hype without much substance. I'm afraid to admit, however, that it is worth the hype and unbelievably cute as a breakfast spot to kick off your weekend. The interior really is beautiful and there are so many small details that all contribute to a wonderful atmosphere that feels casual and relaxed but also elevated and special. I would definitely recommend dining inside if you can rather than just grabbing a pastry and coffee to go. We were unsure what to order, but our waitress was very helpful in getting us set with a good variety of things to try. We tried all three Borekasim which are flaky pastries with savory filling. The pastry itself was excellent, and the fillings were pretty good although the potato one was the only one I'd go back for. We also split a Jerusalem bagel with three types of cheese, tomato, and za'atar. It was bursting with flavor and the flat style bagel was ideal for a sandwich. For sweets we tried a chocolate rugelach, which was frankly a bit unpleasant, it was far too dense and didn't taste great- I'd probably avoid it. We split a Yemeni latte (they were kind enough to split it into two cups for us) and it was a solid latte with lots of warm spices and sweeteners that was great. Overall this is an ideal morning breakfast/brunch date spot and is absolutely worth the wait. I don't think the food itself is mind blowing or anything but it's all certainly high quality and there's lots of things to try that I was unfamiliar with. It is also very reasonably priced despite feeling upscale.
Brandon F — Google review
Delicious egg and cheese bagels, but the service was even better. Special shoutout to Nicki, who was so kind, warm, and engaging with regular customers and new ones alike. Worth coming back just to say hello

Cafe
Mighty Bread Company, located in East Passyunk, Philadelphia, is renowned for its hearty sourdough loaves and expanded menu. Originally a wholesale bakery, it now offers a dining area where patrons can enjoy sandwiches, quiche, soups, and pastries like caramel apple pie and orange ricotta tea cakes. In late 2021, the establishment transformed into a full sit-down cafe with an expanded food menu featuring top-notch breakfast sandwiches and doughnuts.
This place is hands down my favorite spot for croissants! The buttery flavor is so fresh and authentic—it’s a total must-try. The vibe here is super cool, with a stylish design and decor that makes it extra inviting. However, It can get a bit crowded, but honestly, I see why—it’s just that good! I can’t wait to come back and try more of their dishes. If you’re a croissant lover or just love great vibes, you need to check this place out!

🐝 Service was excellent! Had a wide variety of homemade bread and pastries. Great for vegetarians! would highly recommend! However, always get there early because seating fills up quickly.

Mighty Bread is very good—definitely worth the visit! It was busy when I went, but the line moved quickly and efficiently. They also have a cute little outdoor patio, which adds a really nice touch to the overall vibe. The food was delicious—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The standout for me was the apple cheddar breakfast sandwich (I added bacon—highly recommend!), and the potatoes were amazing—crispy, well-seasoned, and super satisfying. One small hiccup: I asked to order a side of potatoes with my sandwich, but the server let me know the kitchen wasn't doing that that day. A little strange, but not a deal-breaker. Hopefully next time I’ll be able to get that side, because the potatoes are totally worth it. Overall, a great spot. I’ll definitely be back!
Kaitlyn Y — Google review
The best prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich I’ve ever had in Philly! It’s a very cute spot-small, but that’s part of its charm. The coffee was good, and the servers were very polite. They also offer a nice variety of freshly baked breads and desserts. I didn’t try any this time, but they looked delicious, and I’ll definitely have one on my next visit.
Alexandra V — Google review
Such a great shoppe and experience! When you step inside the aroma is delightful, and the ambiance is upbeat and bright incorporating both modern and cozy. The pastries, breads, cookies are top-notch and totally enticing. The Mocha Latte I ordered was delicious. This is a very busy place, on weekends especially, so plan ahead and don't go hangry. But well worth the wait. Staff are pleasant, hard-working, and professional. My new favorite place in South Philly! Loved it 😍
NANCY T — Google review
I’ve been coming here for the past two years, and it never disappoints. Their bread is amazing—fresh and full of flavor. I’m a big fan of their sandwiches, and the latte is always spot on. Service is friendly and quick.
Natalia K — Google review
One of the best bakeries I have been to. Their breakfast menu is delicious! Great bread and a great selection of pastries!! Always loving coming here. Staff have always been nice as well. Wait can be a bit long on weekends though.

Met a friend here for lunch and oh my god. Oh my godddddd. This is place is what I didn’t know I needed. The avocado toast? Sensational. Perfectly savory, and the pickled red onions were delicious. The chai had everything I want out of a chai latte. It was perfectly balanced between spicy and sweet. I also got a dark chocolate brownie and an orange ricotta tea cake to go with it. Both were perfectly moist and delicious. Not to mention the atmosphere is 10/10, like a little general store that smells amazing. And the staff was extremely friendly - I got a compliment on my perfume, which I love. I will be back, a lot.

Bakery
Essen Bakery is a small Jewish-style bakery located in South Philadelphia, known for its delectable breads, cakes, cookies, sandwiches, and French-press coffee. Tova du Plessis, a James Beard Award semi-finalist and the mastermind behind Essen Bakery, brings a contemporary twist to traditional Jewish pastries.
Gotten plenty of amazing things here, sweet and savory 🥰 these cookies are a throwback to COVID. Essen’s Passover desserts have been a staple at our Seders, the babka and apple cake are common additions to a family party—when we can get them! 🍎🍏🥮 Love their iced tea, miss the early morning coffee//babka deal in the warm weather 🤭

The cinnamon roll was undoubtedly exquisite, and the lox bagel sandwich was plainly average. Overall, it was a good experience, but I guess my expectations were too high. I do plan to revisit to explore the menu more, though. The basque cheesecake beckons.

If your benchmark is supermarket goods, this is heaven and earth. If your benchmark is artisanal bakery, not worth your time.

TEMPORARILY CLOSED Obnoxiously, they haven’t updated their google page/hours. After walking 40 minutes with my infant to get some baked goods, I read a sign posted on the door which reads of closure.

Been coming to Essen for a couple years and I love it. The croissant egg sandwich might be my favorite breakfast in life. It's hard boiled egg, labneh, and zataar forming a perfect combination of savory and smooth. They have rotating flavors of homemade pop tarts that are fun and delicious. Staples like challah, whitefish, and smoked salmon are always done perfectly. This place is a must visit for some of the best pastries and breakfast in the city.

I had been craving a really good cinnamon bun in Philly and after some research I narrowed it down between Essen Bakery and a nearby competitor. We stopped by and ordered one of the cinnamon buns, a pear pop tart and another apricot pastry I’m forgetting the name of but was similar to a fruit danish. The cinnamon bun delivered from the hype and was extremely good. We waited until we got home and put it in the air fry for a couple minutes to help warm it up. The bun was gooey and the icing was super delicious. Alongside this, we also warmed up the pop tart which also had great icing on top of a flaky pastry. I’ll definitely be back for the cinnamon bun!

Cute walk up bakery (and if you’re lucky-seating at one of the few tables along the sidewalk). Fresh baked goods-their chocolate bread is amazing-and I even enjoyed it cold from the fridge the next day! On the weekend they make a special cinnamon hazelnut bread-sounds delicious and I will definitely try the next time I’m in town.

4.5 for the food, actually, for one reason. First, this place is a rare little gem unlike any found in most US cities! Small but mighty. NY-style Jewish traditions with French patisserie exactitude! EVERYTHING I tried here was either next level great (black x white cookies $4 ea.), best-ever fantastic (the 'pop tart') or perfect and authentic ( like the brilliant abricotine; think: poached-apricot croissant). EVERYTHING... EXCEPT. for. the. babka. I tried the much-lauded babka (chocolate) twice. Both times it was rather dry (for a good babka) and lacked flavor. I was a bit taken aback. Everything else is so great but this babka wasn't even as good as Trader Joe's (which is decent enough), let alone the gooey, oozing ones you will find in Brooklyn or Montréal. Nonetheless, I find great black & whites harder to come by than a good babka in my hometown Seattle and most other places. And, all the rest here is rather brilliant! There is even a frequent customer discount club, as if one and one's tastebuds (and diet!) needed the coaxing, to boot. Owner/Pâtissière Tova du Plessis has done a wonderful and remarkable thing in offering her talents to Philly through Essen. Bravo!

Cafe La Maude is a vibrant French-Lebanese cafe located in the Northern Liberties neighborhood. The casual, Euro-style decor and heated patio make it a popular spot for locals to enjoy breakfast and lunch. The menu features delicious French-Lebanese inspired dishes with Middle Eastern flavors, such as gypsy eggs with avocado, eggplant, ricotta cheese, and potato in tomato sauce or stuffed brioche pain perdu.
This is a Lebanese/French spot with an interesting menu that fuses the two together. Shakshuka, Mediterranean burrito, and many items that came with baguettes. The food was great, with lots of different dishes that were meat or fruit forward, carb heavy like sandwiches with fries or carb light with a wrap. I liked that the quality of meat was better than I expected and the skirt steak on my sandwich was great. The bread on both dishes (avocado toast and le fou) was really good and I loved that the fou was rich and heavy. The brioche was good, the meat was good, and they even provided a really hot hot sauce. Overall, I liked this place a lot

We came here for brunch and the line was long — clearly a popular spot! The wait to be seated took a while, but it was worth it once we sat down. The food was absolutely beautiful — honestly, it looked like art. Each plate was carefully presented, from the layers of whipped cream and fruit to the drizzle of sauces across the plate. And it tasted just as good as it looked — perfectly balanced sweetness that didn’t feel heavy at all. Only one critique — I think the coffee could be a bit better — it wasn’t bad, just not as amazing as the food. Overall, such a lovely experience.

Was glad to have visited one of Philly's hot spot brunch places. The food was delicious and generous in size. Despite the seemingly smaller menu there's great variety in options, each bringing a different flavor profile. The workers were also really nice and accommodating. When they heard there was a birthday they put a candle in one of our orders. Overall the food was not that pricey which was a bonus to see at the end. As long as you come early enough you can get seated right away avoiding the brunch crowd rush.

A popular spot in Philly for Lebanese x French fusion brunch 🇱🇧🥐✨ 🥘 Red Shakshuka — rich tomato base with perfectly baked pita, absolutely amazing! Pair it with their Harissa Labneh, and it’s a flavor match made in heaven. 😍🔥 🥗 Mediterranean Platter — overall pretty solid! The za’atar pita was a bit on the strong side, but the Labneh was cool, refreshing, and super unique. 👍🏼💫

Oh. My. God. That was some of the most scrumptious breakfast I've ever had. The red shakshuka transported me to another dimension; it was that delicious. Servers were very friendly and courteous, and the food came out rather quick. We arrived early on a Sunday morning and saw that the place got quite busy with a line forming as we left. But you will definitely leave here satisfied.

The food was really good! Christina was such a great server very attentive and nice I didnt have to want for anything. I had the red shashuka before and it’s always good. I tried the dirty chai latte after seeing the rave on tik tok and tiktok was right its amazing never had one before but ill be back just for that!

Food and service both great! We got a really nice table by the window but unfortunately it was very noisy and there was a strange smell emanating from outside but we enjoyed our brunch nonetheless. Clean bathroom too!
Aishwarya M — Google review
Highly recommend this place for brunch. We expected to have to wait for a table but we were seated almost immediately by someone who looked to be the owner of this restaurant. He was very attentive and seemed very friendly with many of the customers who were dining here. We ordered their steak sandwich and smoked salmon toast, both of which were mind blowingly good. The steak sandwich was hefty and portion size was insane. Waiters gave us extra napkins without us asking (how attentive!!). Will definitely be returning!

J'aime French Bakery is a delightful counter-serve bakery and cafe that offers a variety of French pastries, sandwiches, crepes, and coffee. Visitors have expressed their satisfaction with the quality of the pastries and the fantastic mocha. The bakery's ambiance is described as sweet and welcoming, making it an enjoyable place to relax alone or with friends. Customers have praised the reasonable prices and attentive customer service.
The chocolate pretzel is overrated if you ask me. It’s not bad, it just looks better than it tastes. The hazelnut croissant however, is really good. The coffee is not bad, and the service is pretty good. It’s a cute little bakery with some small French bistro tables by the window and a couple of small booths on the other side. I have to be back to try their crepe though, I heard good things.
Z — Google review
Arguably the best French cafe I've been to in the US for a while. The hot chocolate is decadent but not too sweet unlike poor imitations of French hot chocolate. The chocolate croissant pretzel was flaky, light, and had a good amount of chocolate. Blueberry Danish also surprisingly had a complex flavor. The store itself was super cute.
Rajalaxmi R — Google review
French bakery shop that happened to catch my eye while wanting a sweet treat! I’m so happy I stopped in. The chocolate pretzel croissant looked delicious and unique, and it was. It was flaky, butter and sweet. The middle twist had the perfect amount of softness. I definitely want to come back to try their danishes and other pastries!
Ariana L — Google review
This French bakery was just up the street from our AirBnb. It was so good that we came here twice. The croissants were perfection. The croissant sandwiches were solid and the strawberry danishes were so excellent that I would go back to Philly just to have one again. This place is the real deal and we heard French coming out of the kitchen, which I totally loved since I am a language teacher (German). We will definitely be back.

Visiting Philly is always a challenge because there are so many awesome places to try, and I always want to hit up my favorites. I decided to break away from my favorite donut shop to try this French bakery today based on the photos from other reviews of the chocolate pretzel. It's really a pretzel shaped pain au chocolat with roasted peanuts on top...I would call it Philly French, and it's epic! While in the shop, I couldn't resist getting the blueberry danish as well because of how good it looked, and that was amazing too!
Tim A — Google review
Croissant and raspberry danish were great. It was a cozy cafe. A staff was friendly but pretty unprofessional all the time. The food is delicious, but it's a shame that the service lowers customer satisfaction.

If you are looking for an amazing croissant - look no further. And their chocolate pretzel using their laminated dough is divine! Chef Bastien has really provided Philly a treat.

Great pastries and drinks! The food is always fresh, my favorite is the chocolate pretzel. Perfect way to wake up! The owner is always really nice and there is lots of seating. The store is clean and the prices are fair! It's about $10-12 for a drink and snack.

The Night Kitchen Bakery, located in Chestnut Hill, is a cozy bakery and cafe owned by the baking duo Amy Edelman and John Millard. Their menu includes a variety of decorated cakes, light breakfast, and lunch choices. The bakery is known for its wide assortment of Christmas cookies and the beautifully decorated Yule log. They are committed to community and sustainability while offering specialties like sticky buns, award-winning brownies, and lemon curd cake.
I ordered two cakes for my son’s first birthday and they came out PERFECT! I provided the airplanes for the top along with inspiration pictures and they did an absolutely amazing job! Everyone was complimenting on how cute the cakes turned out and how delicious it was! My son really went to town on his smash cake, too. 10/10 baby approved! I would 100% recommend Night Kitchen Bakery and Cafe! I also got my wedding cake from them and it was absolutely beautiful!

The Night Kitchen baked our cake and a selection of cupcakes for our wedding in May. A few months prior, the Team had us come in for a tasting with a few friends. We initially had a hard time deciding which flavor combinations to use for our wedding because we were so blown away by how great everything tasted without being too sweet or feeling too heavy. Once we talked with Amy about our personal favorites and our desire to have a few different cupcake options for folks to choose from, Amy made great recommendations that helped us narrow to our final selections. On the day of, everything was exactly as we'd envisioned it. We heard many compliments from friends and family about the taste of the cupcakes and how glad they were to have their specific favorite be an option. We definitely plan on going back to the Night Kitchen for more chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream and raspberry filling in the future.

Night Kitchen Bakery & Cafe made our wedding cake last year, and we couldn’t have been happier with the entire experience! They were so easy to work with and offered an amazing variety of flavors and options to choose from. We ended up going with a yellow cake with lemon curd and raspberry jam filling, and it was absolutely delicious — our guests loved it! They also did a wonderful job bringing our vision to life. I kept it simple but shared a few inspiration photos, and they perfectly recreated the look I wanted. We had around 170 guests so we decided on a 5 tier cake! The bakery itself is adorable, with a cozy cafe inside that serves light desserts/foods and drinks. We’d highly recommend The Night Kitchen Bakery to anyone looking for something special!

It has been quite a few years since I last visited this place. The previous visit must have been more than 20 years ago, when I came with my younger son and his mother. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted by Aliyah and Angela. Coming from the Chestnut Hill Brewing Company, we were in search of a vegan dessert, unfortunately, they didn't have any available at that moment. However, we were informed that it could be requested or made if we called ahead. This is a cozy spot, with a very welcoming atmosphere, neatly decorated. The cakes, pastries, and cookies on display were truly impressive. I opted for a cup of decaf coffee, even though I'm not a regular coffee drinker. A little warm cup of coffee seemed perfect for the chilly weather outside. The coffee, made from la Colomb beans, was a delightful dark roast. They also offered oat milk and sugar substitutes. We decided to sit back and enjoy some wonderful conversations with Aliyah and Angela. They were an absolute delight to chat with. Our discussions mostly centered around their background in the business, the local area, and our culinary preferences. We were inspired to place an order for a specialty cake in the future. I also expressed my hope to see a vegan item on the menu someday, if possible.

From out of town. I came in last minute looking for a cake to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. They had a lovely assortment of ready to take cakes and they even offered to write on it even though I didn’t order ahead. They were super nice and accommodating. And the cake itself was INCREDIBLE. We got the Chocolate Mousse cake and it was so moist and flavorful! We were afraid the cake wouldn’t make the 12 hour trip back from Philly to KY, but sure enough it was pristine!!! Will definitely be back.

Catering food and drink supplier
Jezabel's is an Argentinian cafe located in Fitler Square, West Philadelphia, offering a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. The owner, Jezabel Careaga, brings the flavors and traditions of northwestern Argentina to the menu with homemade empanadas, sweet alfajores, medialunas, and other delectable sweet and savory items. The restaurant also hosts cooking classes and special events. The food reflects the European influence on Argentinian cuisine.
Went to an an Empanada making event at Jezebel's with my daughter who is a college student in Philly. We had so much fun learning how to make traditional northwest Argentinian empanadas, and experiencing Jezebel's culinary talent and colorful tales of her upbringing. The meal that followed was outstanding. Highly recommend for a date night, girls night out, or mother/daughter experience!!

I felt it was somewhat pricey, I paid $17.60 for three small empanadas. They were very nice, but I am not sure if they were worth the price. The place is very cute and welcoming, service very personable.

The ambience is perfect and the chicken empanada I had was spectacular. Honestly one of the best danishes I’ve had in Philly. 10/10
Dimir B — Google review
Hidden gem! The empanadas are phenomenal!! So flavorful and delicious. The baked goods too. Came here w friends on 2 different Saturday afternoons recently. Both times I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with THE Jezabel of Jezabel’s and immediately understood why this place is so good. She is full of passion for her craft and really enjoys cooking and baking for guests to enjoy her food. There is a lot of love in these empanadas ! Hibiscus lemonade is delicious as are the croissants. This is a great spot for a takeout treat, to sit and enjoy a coffee and a sweet, to dine in, or even have large parties or meetings. The space is so unique and includes indoor and outdoor seating. I would highly recommend Jezabel’s and can’t wait to go back again !

Friendly, cool, beautiful, tasty! The coffee had cherry notes, and the chocolate alfajor de chocolate was pretty and good. I like the open kitchen near some of the dining room seats. Went May 6 '25
Jacob S — Google review
So I went to Jezabel's on a perfectly crisp morning, looking to get some empanadas and maybe some other baked goods. I went in there, and it had a high-end but comfortable atmosphere. There is the cafe side of the restau (restaurant for short) and a dining side of the restau. The woman up front was very welcoming and hospitable, answering all of my questions about the baked goods and the cooking classes that they host. I chose the lenteja (lentil) empanada and the Pollo (chicken empanada). In tasting both of the empanadas, I was a bit disappointed. The spicy chicken empanada wasn't really spicy, nor was it flavorful. Same for the lentil empanada. I was a little bit surprised by the lack of flavor. The meat was cooked correctly; however, for me, the chicken had a texture I wasn't used to. It was slightly rubbery, but it was still average in its taste. The very hospitable waitresses brought me a chimichurri sauce to accompany the empanadas; unfortunately, this sauce just tasted like oil. Nothing to have a foodgasm over, sadly. Now, I have only tried the empanadas. I am sure they might have some flavorful meals, or sabroso, as I like my meals, but what I had, left me wanting more... of something else. I'd say, if you are looking for mild and high-end, this would be your space. The ambience was fine, and welcoming. The waitress does her job very well. I didn't try the sweets, even though they were so tempting and looked very good.

Artisan Boulanger Patissier, located on Mifflin St., is a French-inspired bakery known for its house-baked breads and pastries. The bakery offers a variety of croissants, including the popular almond croissant that has impressed many visitors with its nutty flavored filling and powdered sugar dusting. The bakery also serves fruity combinations like blueberry and cheese croissants, as well as fresh fruit and cream options.
I was researching the best breakfast sandwiches in Philly, and this spot came up consistently in several convos, so I knew I had to stop by! To be quite honest- the highlight of my trip here was interacting with the elderly gentleman, who is the initial point of contact when you enter. He's super welcoming, friendly, and, overall, extremely passionate about the tasty products they offer. He asked if it was our first time here, which it was, and then went on to passionately explain every available item. I'll make it a point to return here, specifically so I can interact with this amazing gentleman who treats you better than family, with the most genuine vibe 💚 Let's get to the food: - The egg and cheese on croissant was tasty and perfectly made. - The pistachio croissant has a unique and tasty flavor profile. Highly recommend trying it out. - I personally wasn't a fan of cronut, so I wouldn't order it again. It just felt heavy and bland.

5/24/25 Very nice staff and cash only! When walking in you’re greeted by a very enthusiastic older gentleman who will walk you thru whats good if you’ve never been on what may be good. And everything he recommends does look tasty lol. They do have atm on site and this is one of best spots to come by, one of my fave pork banh mi I’ve recently had and that day it seemed on par with the ones from cafe cuong and ba lê. the pistachio croissant is good but need to try the other ones and I like the Vietnamese coffee I had to also go with this apple tart thingy which I was told was made with love , it’s good lol This place also has good breakfast sausage egg and cheese sandwich and worth getting if in area. They do have some juice and pre made rival bros items and the ham and cheese croissant may be next lol. I’ll be back for sure to try some other items!

I got a chocolate croissant and it was $4 and great and the worker gave me a cup of water when I asked. Unfortunately I can’t look past a couple sins so I’m dropping a 4 star instead of a 5 star review: 1. This place is cash only, but it is almost impossible to tell until you’ve already ordered and are going to pay. Size 24 font on a piece of paper at the register area, and on one of the windows front windows in similarly tiny font on a little piece of paper. 2. Prices are not put next to items on the menu on the wall, and I didn’t see another place to look at the menu though they may have paper menus somewhere. This ones simple for me, I want price transparency so I know how much I’m paying for what. Sins being laid out, I’d still definitely go back. I want to try a croissant sandwich, they looked amazing, and now I’ll be prepared for cash only

Wow the most crunchiest, airiest, best croissants ever! Tried out the bacon egg and cheese sandwich- a must!! The pistachio croissant was a honestly a tasty surprise, cinnamon waffle croissant -delicious😋and of course the golden child 🥐

Friendly staff members with a local feel. The bread is top tier quality. Their cinnamon rolls and Pork Belly Banh Mi rank among the best I’ve had - the bread texture, the taste, everything works together well. This bakery has a high rating and deservedly so!

We’ve been coming here for years! The pistachio and almond croissants with the Vietnamese iced coffee, which is not too sweet, has always been our go to. The family who runs the shop always is welcoming and accommodating (I forgot that I needed cash, and was short a few dollars for my order, and the owner let me slide, and said to just bring the $ a few days later, which I did). A business that goes above and beyond for its customers. We love having you in South Philly!!

Cake Life Bake Shop is a delightful bakery offering an array of sweet and savory treats, including house-baked muffins, quiches, and layer cakes. The ambiance at the Chestnut Hill location exudes elegance with its Victorian era greenhouse setting for Sunday brunch. The menu features a diverse selection of dishes, from sweet brioche French toast to an earthy French frittata.
I have to be honest and say that we originally looked into Cake Life because they’ve made cakes for Beyoncé. We were pleasantly surprised to see that their prices were reasonable! Bailey was so great to correspond with. She was open to hearing our ideas and had gluten free and vegan options. They also delivered our order directly to the venue so we didn’t have to worry about picking it up and transporting it. We’re still getting compliments on the cupcakes, they were a hit! We’re so happy that we chose Cake Life for our wedding and look forward to trying new flavors next time we visit!

Saw on IG the top places to get cinnamon rolls, Cake Life was one of them—I see why! Loved it so much had to come back, but this time for more deliciousness. Zaatar croissant (vegan) and the honey butter biscuit—-YUM!!! The atmosphere was welcoming, the options are plenty, and quite simply—I’ll be back again.

My friend introduced me to Cake Life Bake Shop, and now I’m obsessed. The seasonal coffee flavors are so unique and delicious — like nothing I’ve had anywhere else. The cupcakes and desserts are out of this world, and everything looks as good as it tastes. I also love that they have the cutest little gifts and fun finds sprinkled throughout the shop. It’s such a cozy, feel-good place. I totally get why my friend raves about it — now I do too!

I stumbled across Cake Life by accident with my best friend after grabbing lunch nearby, and I instantly fell in love. Then I found out they made Beyoncé’s birthday cake, and I was done—how could you not love this place?! On my first visit, I had the Nanaimo bar, the honey butter biscuit with a side of butter, and the butterbeer drink. Everything was so yummy! I love Nanaimo bars but can never find them, so I was thrilled—and this one was exceptional. The honey butter biscuit was warm, flaky, and perfect with the butter, and the butterbeer drink? Sweet, creamy, and magical. By my second visit, I was completely hooked. I tried the strawberry n’ cream poppin tart (ridiculously delicious), the hot chocolate with the fluffiest, hugest homemade marshmallow, and the everything bagel croissant—which is now my absolute favorite. The croissant was the perfect bite: garlicky, with just the right amount of salt, rich and buttery, and topped with the creamiest, most heavenly drop of scallion cream cheese. Every layer was perfection. The shop itself is super charming and cozy, with free WiFi and the nicest baristas. It’s the perfect little spot to treat yourself or just relax for a while. I absolutely love visiting here and trying something new every time. Everything they make is a hit, and I’m already planning my next trip. Beyoncé and I clearly have great taste!

A bit pricey for sweets for me. Chocolate chip cookie was and the custard dessert was slightly too sweet. Not sure what my friend’s choices were but she seems to have liked them. Everything was cute tho.

We got an assortment of spring cupcakes for the office and they were a HIT! I am so grateful for how kind and sweet Devin was when helping me pick out flavors-- they even reminded me to try and get a gluten free option which I almost forgot to do! All cupcakes were deliciously filled with flavor, not too sweet, and felt like eating a luxury for a great price! Their buttercream is divine. The texture is so luciously buttery without feeling fake. You can tell they use quality ingredients. The shops itself is super easy to get to on the el or the bus. I had no trouble carrying everything to work on my own in their packaging (although my coworker dropped the bag bringing them upstairs...) but everything stayed put together and of course the flavor was not hurt at all! This shop has amazing, extended hours and a really cute interior. I love the mural inside of it I stared as I finished my cup of coffee I bought for myself cause everything smelled so divine I had to get a little treat, too! Excited to bring my work back and hopefully some other community organizations that I work with. Thanks, Cake Life Bake Shop!

Cake life is such a staple in the city! All of their pastries and cakes are moist with creative flavors and presentation. The phanatic cupcake was super cute! My favorites would be the campfire cocoa cake and the lemon bar!

The baristas are very friendly. The atmosphere is very nice. The drinks and many baked goods are no good and not worth the money. I just would not waste my money on any of the drinks. The cupcakes are super cute but nasty. The whipped cream on top is hard as a rock even though esthetically it looks nice. If you go here your best option many be a brownie or a cookie.

Haegele's Bakery is a fourth-generation, family-owned bakery in Mayfair that specializes in traditional German pastries and handmade treats. The bakeshop prides itself on using original equipment dating back to 1950, maintaining the same authentic methods for over 90 years. During the holiday season, their best-selling items include a mix of butter cookies with various toppings.
Stopped in to pick up some goodies for my boyfriend’s birthday. The woman behind the counter was so incredibly nice and helpful with her recommendations. I originally went for the butter cake, but ended up also taking home a bee cake (delicious), 2 slices of Bavarian cream cake (incredible) and the apple strudel. The bakery is CASH ONLY, but even with all of the items I purchased, it was only around $15 which I thought was a great deal. We will absolutely be turning into repeat customers and we will be back.

How did I not know about this bakery. It was absolutely delicious. We purchased a cake for my wifes birthday which we did not eat yet but the cream donuts were fresh and delicious. The woman running the store was very friendly and even put a cake aside since I could not make it until later in the afternoon. The prices are probably the best around for the quality of the food you get. We will be back to sample more now that I found this bakery.

I lived in Philly when I was 10 and every weekend my uncle would get a butter cake from the local bakery. I tried to find that bakery but it's gone now. Based on a Google review we decided to try Haegeles and see how their butter cake stacked up to my memories. On friday morning There was a line at the door 20 minutes before the store opened if that tells you anything. The butter cake wasn't the same, it was more like cake than I remember. We tried the jelly twists! You need to get some of these! we also tried some coffee cake and it was pretty amazing. The best part of the visit was meeting the family that runs the bakery. They are rhe nicest people you could meet and we will be back to try more of their goods.

Love Haegele’s! Hands down the best bakery I’ve ever been to and I’ve lived all over the country. We live an hour away now and still consider the drive worth it. It’s a family owned business. With an old world charm that hasn’t changed in the 30 years we’ve been going. Everything they make is incredible. So much better than the stuff that passes for ‘baked goods’ in supermarkets.

Haegele’s Bakery is an absolute gem! Their jelly doughnuts are out of this world — soft, fresh, and perfectly filled. And the chocolate chip cookies? Pure nostalgia — they taste just like the ones from childhood, warm, buttery, and comforting. Every time I come back to Philly, I have to stop here and stock up. The quality, flavor, and old-fashioned charm never disappoint. A true Philly treasure!

The cafe has a polished vintage vibe that appeals to young professionals.
The absolute best spot for a bagel in Philadelphia and it’s not close. The lines for this place everyday are well deserved. Got an assortment of bagels and everyone was freshly baked with a crunchy exterior and cheey interior. Lots of seeds and flavoring on each one. The bread, croissants, and anything else you can get your hands on is worth it. Fantastic spot.

Great experience this morning! Make sure you get there early as the line builds fast. One of the best bagels I’ve had in a very long time. Worth getting up early and waiting in line. Line moves quickly but it’s first come first serve and once they’re out, that’s it.
Brandon S — Google review
Best bagel I’ve tried!! Their bagels have a softer texture compare to other places’. My favorite is the pretzel bagel but honestly everything is great and worth trying. There’s usually a line before the store is even open, but I figured the wait is the shortest if you come Thursday after 9 am.
Susan H — Google review
There’s a line around the block in the morning and it is for good reason. Excellent bagels, super bubbly and chewy(how they should be). I don’t think these bagels need toasting at all. The cheddar is my favorite, and they have fun specialty cream cheeses. I found it unusual that the everything bagel didn’t have any salt, so I probably wouldn’t get this again but man, the cheddar bagel is unreal.

My oh my the pretzel bagel was divine!! I got mine toasted with garlic chive cream cheese and it was so delicious! Had to eat it right away while it was fresh 😋 The cheddar bagel was amazing too, which paired perfectly with the jalapeno cream cheese. Also got the vegan cruffin and pretzel pain au chocolat for my vegan friends and they said these were the best pastries they’ve ever had, no notes. Even on a foggy rainy morning the line was out the door and they sold out at 9:45. You can really tell how adored they are by everyone in the community

Great bagels, but that’s it. Very long lines, not sure if worth the wait. I’d say yes, if you’re buying a dozen bagels but I wouldn’t do it again just to get one. Very restricted hours and tiny space to wait in line. You’ll bond with the person in front of you in line.
Z — Google review
Finally made time to check this place out, WOW There's a line but it moves fast, great coffee and a warm and welcoming laid back space with delicious bagels and pastries/cookies. I got the pretzel bagel with a special bacon and onion cream cheese 👌🏼👌🏼 the bagel was fluffy and soft inside but chewy outside, best of both worlds. Could see ordering these or their regular pretzels to dip with homemade beer cheese or make sandwiches with them they have such great flavor. The chocolate chip cookie was Ooey gooey perfection with giant chunks of chocolate and a soft center. Beautiful flaky laminated pastries-- gah! Can't wait to go back and try their country sourdough (campagne) and sandwich bread calling to me from the shelves with their toasty tops. This is one of the best bakeries in Philly, hands down
Kate S — Google review
Street parking nearby. Come a few minutes before 8 and there’s already a long line. The line moved not too quickly. They seem to sold out around 9:30 - 10 so come early. With that said, that quality is good but not crazy good. The bagel was okay. Not impressed with the dough or crust. I requested it to be heated. I ate right away but it wasn’t even warm. The cream cheese was good. I asked for garlic and chive cream cheese but I couldn’t taste the garlic at all. The croissant was good. Overall good place, but not out of this world good. Decent. They do not always have their charcoal bagel.

Gilda is a popular spot known for its delectable Portuguese tarts, especially the pasteis de nata. Customers recommend arriving early to secure these egg tarts as they tend to sell out quickly due to their high demand. The cafe also offers other treats like passion fruit tarts and custard-filled donuts, although some find the prices a bit steep. Visitors rave about the Antonio breakfast sandwich and praise the attentive service and charming decor of the cafe.
We went on a Saturday morning around 11 and the place was packed. We got the last pastel de nata of the day and it tasted just like the ones we had in Portugal. The coffee we got was perfect and at such a fair price. The Antonio breakfast sandwich was delicious and the price tag of $10 is so fair. I really enjoyed this place and will add it to our coffee shop rotation.
David M — Google review
It's a nice little coffee shop with a few unique pastries that make it stand out. We got a cold brew and a chocolate donought. They were pretty good together but neither were amazing on their own. The pastry had a savory (or at least not sweet) bun which was a little odd for a pastry but didnt take away from it too much. The staff was pretty friendly and fast with everything as well. While there wasn't much of a line, there also wasn't a tone of seating either so I could see it getting packed. Overall it was a good spot nestled in fishtown.

First time I'm here. My daughter brought me. She said that the coffee was excellent so I tried a cappuccino and it was good and she had a cold brew. We didn't buy nothing to eat but what I saw seemed quite nice. I would really highly recommend

The cutest lil cafe!! We got the Antonio and Murph sandwich. The murph is one of the best breakfast sammies I’ve ever had! The service was also super quick too. They were out of pasteis de natas, but I’m looking forward to coming back to try them. Definitely check this place out if you’re in the area!

So disappointing. I got the guava bola and the Antonio. The bola was not great. It was like a wheat dinner roll and really tough. The cream didn't taste like guava either. Antonio was just average: the sausage was ok, the egg and mayo and bread were pretty good but not outstanding, but it's a good size. It'll fill you up and you'll be satisfied with the taste, but it's not something I'd reminisce about or go out of my way to get again.
Sara L — Google review
Was excited to try their egg tarts and was not disappointed. An excellent cafe experience, the guava Bola was quite decadent, but preferred the lighter taste of the tarts.
Miso M — Google review
DAMN! This might be the best place in Philly. Had to come here two days in a row because I was in disbelief. The first day I got The Antionio which was just stunning with warm soft bread, ooey gooey sauce, delicious Portugese sausage and egg. Then a Pasteis that felt like it came right from Lisboa. Second day I got the Sammy which was also scrumptious. Can’t wait to come back to P-Town and try their Berlin Buns. Fine ahh breakfast and lunch!
Juan M — Google review
Busy cafe with extremely friendly and helpful staff. After finally finding street parking and lining up for the order counter I had an Antonio sandwich which was really good. Also very good coffee with free refills. Can't do that at Starbucks! My only disappointment were the pasteis de nata's, which I got to go. They did not have any authentic ones, just seasonal pumpkin flavored. This actually wouldn't have bothered me but the outer pastry was heavy and tough. Really tough. The inside was mushy. Nothing resembling a proper pasteis de nata. But overall I loved the place and the vibe and would return again.

Machine Shop is a renowned bakery located in the Bok Building in South Philadelphia. Known for its French-inspired pastries and viennoiserie, it has gained a loyal following with its extraordinary bread making and delectable treats like festive strawberry tarts and rhubarb galettes.
Some of the best pastries I’ve had. I feel like I am having an addiction to the bake goods there ever since my first visit to the Machine Shop. Absolutely love their rhubarb danish, tarts, savory pastries, loaf or anything I’ve tried. A must visit.
Susan H — Google review
I really wanted to like the pastries here but unfortunately they were burnt. I got the almond croissant. I could tell the pastry itself was excellently made, beautiful lamination and well shaped. The almond filling was lovely too. However, they fell short at the final hurdle with the actually baking. There is a fine line between “twice baked” and burnt and unfortunately the croissant just tasted extremely acrid and burnt. This also resulted in it being really dry and hard, making it difficult to actually eat. When I was in the queue I did think they looked quite burnt but I took a chance on it. The other pastry’s and breads also had a very dark colouring so I figured I could be over analysing. The location is lovely and the coffee from the place next door was excellent, if they’d just turn down the oven or decrease the bake time this would have been a 10/10. The service was also super friendly and helpful!
Jennifer R — Google review
This bakery is a true gem! The pastries are absolutely fantastic and clearly made with traditional French techniques. Every bite of the croissant was flaky and buttery, and all their pastries were delicate and flavorful. It's like a trip to Paris without leaving town. The quality and authenticity are unmatched. Highly recommend!
Moshe W — Google review
Machine shop has outstanding pastries! You may have to wait a bit but it's 100% worth the wait! There is great variety of sweet and savory. The service is great too. Walk around the rest of BOK because there is so much to see and explore.

MACHINE SHOP! Thank you! Visiting on a day trip with this lovely place in mind! First, vibes are quaint and cute! It is in the BOK building that is home to many cute shops. Second, pastries! OH MY GLOB! The choices are everything my heart needed (I am a pastry chef and love to see what others are creating!) I snagged the tomato danish and a stone fruit danish (because I am a in season girlie!). The flaky pastry on both was incredible! The cream in the stone danish was a kiss of joy! I ate them both at the shop! Third, I had to leave with something, cause duh! The blueberry tart, also with cream that, again, kiss of joy! There was blueberry jam at the tarts bottom that just rounded out my whole experience! Tots coming back when I am in town! Thanks to the lovely homie in front of house that guided me! And the lovely team overall for the work you do!
O P — Google review
Get the egg-filled Danish and whatever seasonal fruits and veggies they offer. If I had judged Machine Shop solely on their plain croissant, which I use as a standard benchmark for Viennoiseries, I might’ve written them off as being overrated: a bit too dry and lacking in slow-fermented flavor for my tastes despite the light, crispy, and delicate outer layers. I felt the same about the kouign amann. But their Danishes are truly something else! The danishes here had a light, airy, puffy dough that felt closer to puff pastries than croissants. The fillings highlighted the bounties of the land. Here, it was thinly sliced and spiraled zucchini with some browning on the edges. The egg-filled one was insanely delicious. The egg was perfectly cooked to yield a thick, jammy yolk, which went well with the pepper stew underneath it. The canele was really well-executed: crispy caramelized crust with a custard-like center.
Richard W — Google review
I love the atmosphere of the Machine Shop and the variety of seats. I ordered an almond twice baked croissant, double pain au chocolat , and a chocolate chip cookie. The hazelnut croissant had a nice nutty flavor. I personally am not a fan of the twice baked. I love how much chocolate was used for the double pain au chocolat. Your fingers will be covered in chocolate as you eat it. The chocolate chip cookie was good. It’s a solid cookie, but there are other places that have better chocolate chip cookies.

Dodo Bakery is a popular spot known for its fresh and delicious pastries. Customers have raved about the friendly staff and the variety of treats available. The pizza pastry and Pandan egg tart are particularly recommended, with visitors expressing delight in their flavors. The bakery offers a diverse selection of items including steamed buns, scallion sausage rolls, cha siu pastry, and more.
I have ordered for pickup twice so far and I'm already dreaming about my next order! I like to order online so I can carefully select my items and so I can try a few new things every time - my social anxiety keeps me from stopping in to places I'd like to try, so I am glad that I could make some online orders to start. It's also super convenient to just stop by and pick up a little snack while running errands. The food has all been so good (Spam Musubi is always my favorite)

Quaint little asian style bakery with a variety of different baked goods to take to go. Their prices were also fairly affordable. I ordered the coconut cream bun, an egg tart, and a pandan tart. The coconut bun was soft and the cream was tasty. It also had a pleasant coconut flavor that wasn't overwhelming. The tarts were good, but I preferred their pandan tart to the egg tart. I've just had egg tarts I have enjoyed more from other places. The pandan tart just had a really nice flavor to it that I liked. Both of the tarts were also super flakey! As for parking, I went during the weekday morning and found parking was quite easy along the streets. It wasn't a super crowded area that's jam packed with people so you should be able to find parking within a few blocks based on my experience.

I got delivery of treats from this bakery before and enjoyed both the food and drinks I got before. I decided to order a birthday cake from them this year and it was a fantastic decision. The staff were very accommodating and communicative and accommodating with the limits of the shop. The strawberry frosting is light and fluffy with bursts of pleasant tanginess throughout. The chocolate cake has a satisfying texture and is easy to slice even after being frozen. Both have a mild sweetness and allow the other flavors to shine alongside it. I'm looking forward to the next special cake day I can order from them again!

No amount of words can explain how much I love this place. Me and my friends usually get boba here and let me tell you, it's spot on. The prices are good overall if your broke, the drinks taste like heaven. It's not chunky, mushy, to sweet or to bland, it's just perfect. I also love how convenient it is. It's close to my school, so when your thirsty you can just walk a block and order something. It's so good that even on rainy day's and storms, id still wanna go. This place is literally my holy Grail and I swear bro, if this place shuts down I'm gonna crash out. This place is my go to because the place and people/ workers don't give a mean scary feel to the experience. They don't rush you and overall there super duper nice! 😛😛😋

Fiore, located across from Philly Brewing Co, is a delightful Italian bakery offering a variety of traditional sweets and pastries. The menu features seasonal favorites and the espresso is highly recommended while waiting for your order. The cozy interior provides seating for small groups, making it perfect for brunch or grabbing breakfast with friends. Their breakfast sandwiches are particularly popular, with a range of delicious options to choose from.
Great experience. Has high quality foods and drinks. Most items can be vegetarian like the saltie and the breakfast sandwich. The caveat is, without the meat, you won’t get the full flavor profile. The salty is a big sandwich and would recommend eating it sitting down. The vanilla bomboloni was amazing. It had a very natural sweetness that reminded me of some pastries in France. The caffè shakerato dell'autunno was delicious as decafe. Great atmosphere and staff!

Food is great! We happen to drop in at the busiest time on Saturday morning, have to wait for a table, and our pastry was delivered only after reminder. But we got a free savory snack for our patience. Smoke in the shop is too heavy (surprised it didn’t trigger alarm), our clothes got smokey smell for the rest of the day.

Such a cute little place in the heart of Fishtown. We couldn’t decide on what to order and ended with the egg sandwich (the saltie) on focaccia which was delicious, so good I forgot to take a picture before digging in. The coffee was also delicious and the staff and vibes made us feel like we were dining in a cafe in Europe. We can’t wait to return and try some of their other eats and pastries.
David M — Google review
My mom stopped by this cute little gem while exploring the neighborhood. We split the "saltie" sandwhich and crostata pastry. The eggs on the sandwhich were delicious and fluffy and you can't go wrong with whipped ricotta (it was in the pastry too). The crostata which was a chocolate and ricotta pastry melt in the mouth and was decadent. The people that served us were so friendly. Everything is cute about this place, even the adorable blue and white plates they serve everything on. My favorite part is the prices. My mom and I got delicious fancy coffee and hot drinks for such an affordable price. Do yourself a favor and skip your $8 starbucks drink and come here instead, you won't be dissappointed.

I had read about the pastries here and had to come try them for myself. I had a latte and a pistachio cornetti which was phenomenal! The pastry was fresh, crispy on the outside with a lovely gooey pistachio filling, absolutely delicious. I often shy away from pistachio fillings as they are usually not real pistachio but rather a white chocolate ganache with very little actual pistachio, but that is not the case here. The filling is real pistachio, not too sweet and just perfect. The coffee was excellent too! I’ll definitely be back in my next trip to Philly.

No longer temp closed! I've been wanting to try this place. A good mix of pastries, cafe, and great food. I had the eggs over easy, good artisan bread toast, bacon perfect thickness, and the greens were dabbed with I believe a pesto or green savory spice dressing. Cafe au Lait, and a pineapple Jarritos. Perfect mix. I want to try their burritos but they were out today.

On a Sunday afternoon, my family and I visited a charming little cafe that was conveniently situated. We indulged in several scrumptious pastries and savored a well-prepared latte. As the cafe was sparsely occupied, we were able to easily find seating. I would definitely suggest this cafe to others.

Counter service bakery with made to order food. Sandwiches and brunch items. The area was very busy for the Halloween street event. Food was made quickly still and was good. The potatoes were perfectly seasoned. Frittata and other egg items were all the exact same ingredients, other than changing what cheese was included, so it was a bit repetitive of a menu. Not really different options that way. Same deal with sweets: pancakes, French toast, etc all had the same toppings. Cronut was very good, would love to come back and try other bakery items.

My second time here and it didn't disappoint. The breakfast egg sandwich is delicious, as is the smoked salmon, tomato, red onion, and capers on an everything bagel. The couple who runs the cafe are great - so friendly and attentive. The pastries are also on point.

New June Bakery is a delightful gem nestled in the Brewerytown/Fairmount neighborhood, where self-taught baker Noelle Wheatley Blizzard crafts stunning cakes that are as much a feast for the eyes as they are for the palate. With her retro 60s-inspired designs, each four-tiered Lambeth-style cake features intricate piping and layers of delicious flavors like tangy lemon cream and raspberry cardamom jam.
I tried a slice of the banana espresso cake at New June Bakery — and while I blinked at the $10 price tag, I didn’t regret it for a second! It was incredibly delicious: rich, moist, and perfectly balanced in flavor. The shop is super cute and the staff were warm and welcoming. It feels great to support a local small business that clearly puts so much care into what they do. I’ll definitely be back!

Superb work! When I review on Google it’s no in between. You either have done an amazing job or a really terrible one. This bakery caught my eye through social media. It totally did not disappoint from start to finish. The professionalism when placing the order, the timeliness of receiving my order, the amount of effort was incredible! When it came down to placing my order I had a photo of what I wanted from their website but needed a special touch. Libby assisted me with it and my daughter’s cake was magnificent! The details were just awesome. I didn’t think the taste of the cake could surpass that but it did! The price is much more than what you would typically pay but this is not your typical cake or bakery. It’s a variety of cake flavors to choose from. The buttercream frosting tastes just like butter from your fridge. We got the red velvet cake and it was rich. Thank you so much for this cake! I’m eating a slice as I type this review, lol. You have no idea how happy coming to your bakery has made us. Customer service done well is hard to find but finding good cake is just as hard!

And so many of theirs cakes can be made gluten-free. As a celiac cake lover, this absolutely made my dreams come true! We loved so many of the flavors at our tasting that we couldn't choose and ended up with three flavors. So many of our guests said how much they enjoyed the cake. Thank you so much for everything!! Beiler's Bakery, located in the Reading Terminal Market, is a must-visit destination for baked goods enthusiasts. This Pennsylvania Dutch bakery offers an extensive selection of homemade donuts, with up to 40 different varieties available. From traditional yeast donuts to unique flavors like apple cider and peanut butter & jelly, there's something for every palate. In addition to their famous donuts, Beiler's also showcases hand-filled, bacon-covered, and apple fritter options.
Saw several locals leaving Reading Market with boxes of these donuts, so I went to see what the fuss was all about. Longest line in the place. Glad I joined in! There is a huge offering of baked goods, but everyone was in line for donuts. I tried the cruller (eggy perfection), the sour cream (so tender), and the glazed chocolate (decadent). Would love to be able to come back for more. Delicious! Definitely worth the wait!

My go to place to visit when in Philadelphia. It produces, on site, the most amazingly delicious and fully filled doughnuts you could imagine 😋 🍩. There's a huge selection of flavours. The biggest problem is trying to decide which ones to buy 😅. I always take home ( to the 🇬🇧) a box of these doughnuts and they're still super tasty and fresh the next day too. I can get busy and some flavours can sell out quickly, so be sure to get there early for the best selection. Prices are pretty reasonable for the US too! Highly recommended 👌🏻.

What an array of baked goods, not to compete with Beiler's Doughnuts just across the aisle that serves only doughnuts. In the Reading Terminal Market, Beiler's Bakery is heaven for this who love baked goods and I was totally blown away by the selection of 8 gluten free items. I grabbed 4 of the gluten free items including Whoopie pies, sand tarts, peanut butter treats, and pumpkin rolls to Take home. Of course I sampled just a bit of each one and they were delicious! Sand tarts was a new treat for me and the gluten free version was a bonus! We also chose a raspberry bread, and standard cinnamon rolls. And we also took a home made shoo fly pie, traditional Amish recipe. Delicious baked goods You stand in line to order and pick up. No seating in this venue and there is central market seating in accessible tables around the corner in the market Accessible entrance in Main entrance on 12th street. Accessible van parking in paid lot that can be challenging to find. AlsoThis is a short walk to the venue

We went there for breakfast. The donuts taste really well. I highly recommend to stop by at the place. We had 6 donuts, where my favorite was the Mocha one, all of them were really tasty though.

I adore this bakery and their pies are usually a slice of heaven. But this time, my “take-and-bake” surprise was unintentional: I got home, plated my pie, and discovered the bottom crust was still raw in parts. While I appreciate interactive dining, I didn’t realize dessert would come with homework. More seriously, raw pie dough isn’t just chewy, it can carry risks of food-borne illness. Luckily, I caught it and rebaked, but not everyone would. If you're buying pies here, check the bottoms! I’ll be back (because I love this place), but I hope quality control tightens up and they set their crusts. No one wants side-effects with their sweets.
Lauren E — Google review
They were some of the best donuts I’ve ever had, and they were reasonably priced. I was afraid the fruit-filled ones, like the strawberry shortcake, would be overly sweet, but they use natural fruit and not artificial stuff. They were sweet and tart at the same time. If it makes sense, it was the perfect combination. We came back on Sunday to get more before we left, and we’re super bummed to see that they were closed.
Mrs. H — Google review
The donuts were peak, definitely recommend if you like options to choose from. Only problem is that having too many choices will just make my brain explode. The caramel donuts and the blueberry fritters were amazing. The owner even gave us some fudge and candies for free. Thanks so much!

White Dog Cafe University City is a lively eatery with a dog-themed ambiance, offering contemporary American cuisine made from locally sourced ingredients. Established in 1983, it has become a beloved community spot known for its fresh, made-from-scratch dishes and warm, dog-friendly decor. The menu features creative brunch options like Churros waffles and Scrapple & Biscuits.
We caught the first day of summer brunch! We started off light with a cheeseboard, mushroom soup, and a cozy breadbasket. Simple things can be hard to get right, but the soup was smooth and satisfying, the cheeseboard was fresh and balanced, and the cornbread was absolutely perfect. Service was prompt and thoughtful without being overbearing, and we lucked out by arriving during a quieter moment. For the main course, classic steak and scrambled eggs and a hearty breakfast pot pie ( I swear it was a mini casserole dish!) paired with a “Puppy Power” mocktail and a fragrant cup of Earl Grey. All in all, it was a fantastic afternoon!

Friendly staff and an amazing atmosphere filled with unique details that you’ll enjoy with your friends. Farm to table selection, we had the lunch specials of soup and sandwich. Mushroom soup was excellent, served with a dollop of cream and a slight hint of sherry which I really enjoyed. I had the country ham, cheese and egg on sourdough bread, requested the eggs scrambled which they did for me. It came with a side salad with a nice lite vinaigrette. Themed rooms for seating in this charming historical row home near U Penn. Looking forward to visiting again.

Came here for lunch on a Tuesday. The food and service were decent. We didn’t make reservations and the host added another chair to a 2-top for our party of 3 even though there were plenty of empty 4-top tables. I understand doing this if they’re busy but they weren’t. Another issue is that we were seated next to a water/server station and two servers next to us were discussing at length who wanted to serve our party, and it sounded like neither of them wanted to for whatever reason. Because of this, it took awhile to be acknowledged and get water. I found this to be unprofessional. The restrooms really need to be deep cleaned. Each of them reeked of stale urine. They’re very small and cramped as well. The restrooms alone would prevent me from returning here. Hopefully the management team reads these reviews and addresses these issues.

Review – White Dog Café (Philadelphia) White Dog Café, located near UPenn, is a beautiful and inviting restaurant with a cozy yet elegant atmosphere —perfect for a nice lunch or dinner with friends or family. The interior is spacious, stylish, and full of character, with plenty of seating and a warm vibe. I ordered the ribs with rice, which were amazing —tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The truffled fries were another highlight: crispy, aromatic, and seriously addictive. Everything felt fresh and well-prepared, showing real attention to detail in the kitchen. The staff was excellent, friendly and professional, and the service was smooth despite how busy the place can get. The only downside is that prices are on the higher side, though the quality and overall experience justify it. 📍 Conclusion: White Dog Café is a fantastic spot near UPenn that combines great food, attentive service, and a charming atmosphere. A bit pricey, but well worth it for the quality and experience. ⭐ Overall rating: 9/10 🍖 Best: the ribs and truffled fries. 💸 Worst: prices on the high side. 🍷 Price: elevated, but fair for the quality and setting.

I am so pleased with my experience at this establishment. I last minute had to change my party number from 6 to 10, and not only were they super accommodating, but they put us in a lovely private room. Despite having such a large party, they brought out the food quickly and efficiently. I got the cinnamon sugar waffles with peach compote and it was phenomenal. Our waitress went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our meal. Such a lovely experience overall.

We began our long weekend in University City with lunch at the White Dog Cafe. The bright and ample space, set in three Victorian brownstones, was very comfortable, easy to converse in and the decor really embodied a sophisticated rustic charm. We began our meal with cocktails and an Artisan Cheese Plate which was accompanied by fruit, nuts, pickles, crusty bread and the most delicious strawberry and apricot spreads. The cheese selections were unique and very tasty! Definitely a must have as an appetizer or a nosh with cocktails. For our mains, we selected the Spicy Lamb Bolognese and the Impossible Patty Melt. The lamb ragu was very flavorful and the pasta was perfectly cooked. The Impossible Patty Melt was well cooked and the star of the show was the smoky onion jam and spicy pickles. This was a perfect intro to the foodie scene in and about the University City area. The staff was warm and friendly and the overall vibe makes it easy to linger long after the meal is done.

Do you like dogs? Then you’ll love the dog-themed decor. The farm-to-table food was really good. My son had the lamb bolognese and I had the salmon kebabs over couscous. I love tequila, so I ordered the mezcal XOLove. The tasty drink came with an ice cube imprinted with a dog. Nice touch! Our server was Eliza, and she was great. It’s a fun place to dine. They have a private area for small gatherings and the downstairs room is decorated in military dogs. This would be a great place to hold a medium-sized event.

Was in UPenn for a match and decided to grab a quick brunch. I love the dog theme and the inside was extremely cozy. Everything on the menu looked delicious and ended up deciding on their pumpkin churro french toast. It was delectable! I would love to come back to try their other creative menu items.

Bud & Marilyn's is a retro-style eatery and bar that offers updated American classics in a quirky setting. The restaurant, along with its sister establishments, Little Nonnas and Barbuzzo, provides daily dinner specials for two through delivery or takeout. This includes dishes like buttermilk fried chicken and stuffed meatloaf served with sides such as garlic mashed potatoes and roasted veggies, plus dessert.
My wife and I came to Bud and Marilyn’s on a Saturday morning for brunch. We were in the city for a matinee show and made a reservation a week in advance. We were seated right away. The front of house staff was very friendly and engaging. We were given ample time to decide and order without feeling ignored. The cinnamon roll arrived about 5 minutes after ordering it and it was delicious! Definitely worth sharing. I ordered the sausage and biscuits and my wife ordered the Croque Madame which was a daily special. Both were fantastic. The biscuits were not dry and the gravy had a great flavor without being overly salty. The bread on the Croque Madame had a little sweetness to it with great balance to the ham and cheese. Overall, everything was great and would highly recommend!

Dropped in for brunch and appreciated the relaxed vibe. It wasn’t crowded when we arrived, so we were seated quickly—always a win. The highlight? Hands down the cinnamon roll. Soft, moist, packed with flavor, and surprisingly good even with raisins (which I usually avoid). It’s absolutely worth a return visit on its own. As for the meal: I had the chicken and waffle. The chicken was tender, but lacked seasoning—it needed a boost from salt, pepper, and hot sauce to really come alive. The waffle had a solid soft crunch— nice balance, and the fried egg was perfectly cooked. Drinks were good, but since I ordered a French 75, hard to say much—it’s not a cocktail that’s easy to mess up. Would I go back? Maybe, if I’m nearby. I’d try something different next time, but I’d definitely order the cinnamon roll again.

Fantastic American comfort food experience. The retro diner vibe was a fun touch, and it felt both stylish and fun. We ordered the Bud's Double Patty Burger and the Shrimp Po Boy Buns, and both were excellent. The burger was juicy and flavorful, everything you want in a classic. The shrimp po boy buns were great with crispy shrimp, fresh fixings, and perfectly buttered potato rolls made for a delicious bite. Service was friendly and efficient, adding to the overall positive atmosphere. We'd definitely recommend Bud & Marilyn's for a satisfying and enjoyable meal in Philadelphia!

This was a great find. The food, service, and atmosphere was great. Great music playing in the background. We enjoyed this visit. We had a great time talking and eating. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that visits the downtown Philadelphia area. It was an 8 minute walk from our hotel, so we got to get some walking time in on the way.

After a long day of design work, it was only right to fill our bellies. We attempted to dine at a familiar restaurant, but due to the start of Sips, downtown was CROWDED. I’ve never seen so many people. Any whooooo, after getting through the crowd, we ended up at Bud & Marilyn’s for friend chicken, a side of Caesar and club soda to wash it all down. Service was great, the suggestions were a hit, and our bellies were satisfied.

I had the fried chicken and a Bloody Mary. The chicken was excellent—crispy, juicy, and a very generous portion (half a chicken, cut in pieces). The slaw and house-made pickles on the side were fresh and balanced, perfect palate cleansers. The Bloody Mary came with a pickled pepper and paired really well with the meal. I’d definitely come back anytime I’m in Philly.

We stopped in for a quick bite to eat before seeing a show at The Walnut Street Theater and it was a GREAT experience. The place was nicely decorated, the seating was arranged nicely. The greeter was very pleasant and welcoming. No long wait to be seated. The bartender was very pleasant smiling a lot and very knowledgeable on her drinks. We order the Margarita Pizza(although it’s called something else on the menu 😊) it came out hot and timely. It was delicious 😋. 10 ⭐️ ‘s

We went for a belated mother’s day lunch. The atmosphere the service and specially the food was delicious and amazing the mix of flavors it sparkled a party in my mouth. The Tahini kale Caesar salad was so creamy and delicious the Crispy Chicken was so good and the crispiness was just the perfect addition to the salad. The Spaccatellli pasta with trumpet mushrooms made me feel like I was in Italy so so good and rich just remembering makes my mouth water. The Rosted chives lemon Parmesan pizza was delicious the dough was so so good. And the desserts were an absolute joy too eat. Definitely we will be back.

Very pleasant dining experience. Our server, Mat, was excellent! Drinks were good! The standout dish of the evening was actually the summer salad. We got the daily crostini and a pizza as well. The pizza pictured here was extremely dry and salty. We ended up sending it back (which everyone was very kind about). The replacement pizza was much better but still could have used more sauce.

Vegetarian perspective Many great, unique vegetarian options in the pizza and pasta section. I got the allium vegetable pizza, which was so season, fresh and delicious! Cocktails were very refreshing. No vegetarian option in the sandwich section (for lunch). Fresh breads and pastries at the host stand looked amazing too, but I didn't get one. Loved being able to watch the pastry kitchen too.Great place for lunch for me and my friend! Amazing service

Back when this place was on Market Street everything was really good. Now, it's hit or miss. Whether your food is good really seems to depend on what you order. Today was my third lunch time at this location. The first time was great. The second time was so mediocre we didn't come back for a year. My wife had a burger which she said was very good. But if you want crispy fries don't come here. They are okay but limp as a noodle. One order was hot, the other wasn't. My son and I split two sandwiches. I ate the fried chicken half and it was very good. Done perfectly with a caesar kale topping on home made bread. I took the other half - a pastrami Rueben - home for dinner. My son warned me about it and he was right. It was AWFUL. Pastrami should melt in your mouth. This was tough and stringy and should have come with a side of dental floss. Ridiculous at this price point. I don't know why my son didn't send it back. Our server was very nice and quick and didn't ask us if we'd eaten there before. Yay! I guess we'll return sometime if my wife insists, but I'll stick to the chicken sandwich. You'll do better elsewhere.
Gerald K — Google review
The chicken hoagie was AMAZING! Honestly everything a chicken sandwich should be. The chicken was a nice cutlet, the sandwich was perfectly dressed and the bread was an incredible and fresh bread. Simple and delicious. They also serve Passenger coffee, which went well with the housemade pastries. We'll definitely have to come back to try more of the menu.

Another stop in Philly, another great spot for bar snacks and a cocktail. We ended up at High Street after a different place had a 30 minute wait. This was perfect before our July 4th evening. The steak tartare was delicious and would have been better for me if the pieces were more roughly chopped instead of a fine dice. The flavor was great. Cocktails excellent. Service exceptional.
David C — Google review
I have been to High Street three times over the past year for brunch, lunch, and dinner. The food has been fresh and delicious (with one exception), the cocktails and wine are great. The restaurant is decorated beautifully and has a really nice atmosphere day and night. Some standouts for me on the food are of course all the assorted baked treats, the sandwiches, the nicoise salad, and the delicious ice creams. The staff are friendly and nice, but the service can be slow and servers seem to disappear for stretches of time between dishes. The one exception I would like to note is that the half chicken we ordered (while mostly delicious) had considerably more pink than it should have. We mentioned this to the server but only got a polite but vague "would you like us to do anything about this?" At this point we had finished eating (around the undercooked parts) and did not really want any more food but it would have been a nice gesture if they adjusted the bill or even checked in more about the dish. I just expected a higher standard for food and hopefully the service given my previous meals there and how nice the restaurant is. Overall though, the experiences have been nice, but maybe I will be back for brunch or lunch and not dinner.

A Cash-Only, BYOB diner in Philadelphia serving Jewish & Southern comfort eats. The diner is located in a neighborhood and is open on weekends for breakfast. The dishes include eggs benedict, scrambles, skillets and sandwiches, pancakes, French toast, and Belgian waffles.
We stopped by Honey’s Sit ’n Eat for breakfast and really enjoyed it. The Honey’s platter was solid—the eggs were just okay, but overall the breakfast was satisfying. The pancakes stood out: fresh, fluffy, and delicious. The real star, though, was the breakfast quesadilla. The cheesy eggs wrapped in a warm tortilla and topped with avocado were absolutely perfect. Staff was super friendly and the coffee was great!

Tbh, I didn't have great expectations for "another" breakfast joint in Philly, but boy was I wrong. What a fantastic spot. The food quality and quantity was impressive. The service was stellar, the ambience was awesome and what a convenient spot to bring your family. To sum it up, " hell yeah!!!! This is my new favorite breakfast spot" Strongly recommend. They even have a pick up/order window.

We have taken our son to honey‘s on and off since he was six years old, not long after when they first opened today, my family went while our son was visiting from out of state. He is now 26 years old today we experience food and service that were off the four of us came to this conclusion. My son’s mother had the toad in the hole, which is served with a poached egg and truffle oil. There was no truffle oil on the micro greens or the egg. They may have forgotten to put it on there. We’re not sure. Truffle oil has a very bold smell and flavor. The egg also was overcooked. It was soft boiled, almost to where the yolk was hard we asked for it to be slightly runny at which is traditional. The server did not ask how my son‘s burger should be done and he did forget to tell her. He was just so happy to be here to see us. Another issue was the menu available, and the one on the website are not aligned. There were no ramps and grits available. Something we happen to love. The vegan options were skimpy, and no alternatives were offered. The veggie patty melt was flavorless and the bread was toasted not grilled cheese style like it should’ve been, and it made the sandwich very dried out in addition to the lack of taste. The fries were lukewarm and seemed like they had sat a while and didn’t seem like they were freshly done. No vegan cheeses are offered. We were here around 1 PM and they were not busy. We have always loved honeys and hope things will improve this lackluster presentation and experience. You’ll see in the pictures. Hopefully this is a wake up call for them to get back on track.

Fresh and flavorful breakfast food. Ingredients seem good quality. Good service from the staff but this place gets busy and is slightly cramped. But there is as buzz and big energy in the place. Otherwise, portions were perfect and the menu overall was thoughtfully put together. Will definitely return.

Absolutely, positively one of the best breakfast restaurants I've ever been to. The customer service is always amazing. This time I got the breakfast bomb, which was eggs and meat inside a pancake. Absolutely delicious. The dirty chai latte was also great. I truly can't recommend Honey Sit n Eat enough.
Ibaad K — Google review
Breakfast here was fabulous! We tried the breakfast quesadilla (i loved the avocado crème), the pancake, and the breakfast bomb (essentially an omelet wrapped in a pancake). The home fries were also great. Also tried their new whipped expresso and I LOVED it, and I don’t drink a ton of coffee if that says anything! Service was great and food came out quick. Would recommend this place 100% for anyone looking for a nice breakfast spot.
Anna S — Google review
I've seen the daily lines for this place, so I've always wanted to try it. I finally got the chance today when there was no line. Unfortunately, the coffee was a hard pass for me. It had zero aroma and no strength or rich coffee flavor. It tasted very weak. Given the crowds it draws, I was shocked by the poor quality.
Pitchy L — Google review
Let me first start by saying that we were seated within 15 mins of getting to the restaurant which was great considering it was Sunday at 1130am prime brunch time. Our server was great albeit a little slow, but was taking care of the entire bar section. Prices for the food were pretty good and the portions were generous. Now let's talk about the food. I had the special chipotle chicken eggs Benedict absolutely amazing, eggs cooked perfectly, the chipotle hollandaise was rich and coated the eggs beautifully. Also they give you an option for a latka instead of breakfast potatoes. This is going down a new favorite spot in Philly for me. 10/10 Ill be back!

Termini Bros Bakery is a legendary Italian bakery in Philadelphia that offers an amazing selection of sweet treats, including cannoli, cakes, cookies, and other delightful pastries. The charming bakery is highly recommended by locals and visitors alike for its delicious and fresh-made desserts at affordable prices. Customers often find themselves waiting in line to savor the unmatched pastries, cannoli, biscotti, and cakes that are said to be the best in the city.
Everyone we know has been telling us this place has the BEST cannoli and we finally tried it and it is the BEST!!! Sure the ricotta filling is creamy and fragrant and fresh with the perfect consistency, but the crust! The crust (i can smell the spices even just hold it next to my face) is at the perfect balance of crunchiness. It breaks so easily as the reaction to the bite, but it also holds together so well to maintain the shape and avoid the mess. We definitely see ourselves come back again and again and again. P.S. sorry no cannoli pic. We finished them before even thinking about taking one.

Stopped by to get some pistachio cranberry biscottis. Even I asked the staff about when they were made , she said very fresh but it tastes not fresh.it tasted like they were baked maybe weeks ago. Plus everything very pricey. One lady came back after she left to ask if she was charged correct. And she was shocked. The streets nearby this termini location are all closed for road work so be aware of if you driving the area. Neighborhood is not nice to hang out. You just get what you get and leave. It was a lot better years ago but now losing the taste for me.

I stopped into the Termini flagship location for some pastries yesterday and had an amazing experience. Stepping into their shop feels like stepping back in time--everything is perfectly preserved to reflect their 100-year history of making Italian pastries from scratch. The girls working were very courteous, polite, and quick to assist me. I ordered a ricotta cannoli, a chocolate banana, and a lobster tail, all of which were fresh and delicious. The crisp on the cannoli shell was like no other and the lobster tail must've weighed close to a pound! If you're looking for the best Italian pastries in Philly, go to Termini!

just the old-school sign and façade tempted me in only to find that these are absolutely the best cannolis anywhere. I love the old school decor, right down to the chin ceilings, old countertops, and historical cash register. now, only if they had a couple of tables and a coffee pot so I could enjoy my cannoli the instant they fill it for me, that would be great. But definitely do not miss this place. Well worth any side trip if you are in Philadelphia
Russ J — Google review
Beautiful and delicious! A Philly classic. The store is even better than the stand in Reading Terminal. I don’t even like cannolis that much, but theirs are divine. The way they fill them after you order is essential to the crispness. No one likes a soggy cannoli!! Also they have an attached parking lot which is very convenient. Kinda pricey tho I spent $28 on 5 pastries.

I really wanted to try this place's pastries, so I got an éclair and a cannoli. First of all, the pastry looks clean and keeps the old tradition and ambiance, but the taste of what I got was not as great as the store's appearance. The éclair’s bottom part was like bread, not like a perfect éclair, and the cannoli was just okay—the filling was too thick and dry. Service was great

The Love, a chic dining spot in Philadelphia's Center City, is a creation of Aimee Olexy and Stephen Starr. This upscale restaurant offers seasonal American cuisine in a tastefully designed setting just steps away from Rittenhouse Square. The ambiance exudes a contemporary yet cozy feel, making it an ideal choice for romantic outings.
Amazing food! We had reserved a table for 4 and then eventually 5 of us came on the day of, and they were able to accommodate us easily. The wait for table wasn’t long. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits and it was incredible! My friends loved their food too. I vegetarian options were many which my friends really enjoyed as well. For the drinks, we got a round of espresso martinis and they were delicious. My second drink, Lemon and Fig drink was really tasty and strong too. We ordered the Dubai chocolate dessert and they also served us coconut bites (?) on the house. Scrumptious!! Great vibe and very friendly waitstaff.

Southern style cooking meets excellent presentation and high end restaurant! Ambiance was fantastic, very class establishment, great for a business dinner but felt like grandmas house (in the best way!) the Love Sampler (charcuterie board) was delicious, the cheeses paired incredibly well with the jams! Make sure to get the hush puppies, served just like mamma would have made! Fried green tomatoes were crispy crunchy packed full of flavor! Salmon was great but I think I will try the specialty fried chicken next time!

My family of 3 made a reservation for dinner here and had a culinary experience that was truly out-of-this-world delicious. We loved everything we ordered, starting with the Caesar salad, which was fresh and loaded with Parmesan and definitely a favorite of the night. The entrees were all delicious and spoke to the cooks’ skill at combining unique ingredients and flavors to create wildly successful dishes. I got the crispy branzino, which was absolutely delectable, especially when combining all components (hummus, couscous, vegetables, olives, fish) for the perfect bite. My dad got the shrimp and scallop pasta, which had some of the best scallops we’ve ever tried. My mom got the lemon risotto, which was perfectly rich and creamy, though a tad salty for her taste. For dessert, we got the peach and berry cobbler and some delicious complementary fig and oat bars. Everyone loved the cobbler, though the ice cream had a very strong ginger flavor that I ended up not preferring. The service was truly excellent—we were served in a timely manner and our waiter checked on us consistently through the meal. The ambience was also nice and cozy, but it was quite loud and a bit cold on the second floor. Bring a jacket and expect absolutely fantastic food with the most delicious ingredient combinations!

My wife and I had an amazing dinner at The Love this past Friday evening. It was the first time we had went to The Love and could not have been any more pleasantly pleased that we found, The Love. I never expected to walk into a Philly restarurant and sit down to a delicious dinner of Fried Chicken, Grits, Collard Greens, and Corn Bread along with my wife's Shrimp Scampi and Spagetti that all started off with an amazing and well prepared cheese plate. This wall all finished off with a wonderful, Crème brûlée. We personally want to thank our waitress, Dana for being so attentive and providing detailed descriptions of the menu and specials along with the maître d, who unselfishly got down on the floor to retrieve something that had fallen from our table and went under the seats. It was a kind gesture. We will be back. Thank you all for a great time.

The place is very nice and quiet inside. They offer drinks, and the service is fast and excellent! I ordered the ravioli ($30 for 6 pieces). They were served with too much sauce, which was a little bit salty. When I started eating, I got heartburn, so I had to remove the ravioli from the sauce before I could eat them. I also ordered the mushroom soup ($15), which was delicious. For vegetarians, there are only two main courses: ravioli and the tofu "steak." Of course, there are also salads. The portions are okay, but not big enough. After having both the soup and the ravioli, I still felt a little hungry. I’m not sure why, but they don’t offer bread as most restaurants do. Especially for the price I paid, I think they should include it. My thoughts:
The restaurant is overpriced, and the portions could be a bit bigger.

Great menu, food and atmosphere. Good coffee too! Their hours show that they close between lunch and dinner but they don’t. The restaurant remains open and you could still make a reservation or walk in. It’s just that the kitchen briefly closes to switch the menu. They have indoor and outdoor seating options. Perfect for people watching. Great for families and dates and maybe even solo dining.

My wife and I had an amazing dinner at The Love. in Philly and we’re still talking about it! The whole experience—from the warm, inviting atmosphere to the beautifully plated dishes—was top-notch We ordered the short rib rigatoni and the seared fish over farro, and both dishes were absolutely incredible. The rigatoni was rich and comforting, with tender chunks of short rib, roasted tomatoes, and crispy onions for texture. The fish dish was next level—perfectly cooked with a delicious crust, served over couscous and veggies with a mix of bright and earthy sauces that brought everything together. Every bite was packed with flavor. I noticed the menu had changed for the better. The presentation alone was worth a shout-out—clean, elegant, and clearly made with care. Service was friendly and the vibe was chill yet upscale—perfect for a date night. We’ll definitely be back. This spot lives up to the hype.

Tried the fresh cannoli, they fill them fresh per order so they don't get soggy! Never had one before and it had the slightest cheese tang and was very smooth and creamy! Also got the tiramisu cake which is so light and fluffy and not terribly strong in flavor! The cheesecake is smooth!

Stopped in Termini Brothers, Packet Avenue location, last minute for a birthday cake. I was immediately greeted with a smile! Friendly atmosphere, immaculate bakery and a stunning bright showcase of sugary delights. I chose a yummy chocolate layer cake. Overall, Termini Bros is awesome! They have such a wide selection of desserts. The staff was quick to help and check you out and was knowledgeable when asked questions about the product. The cannoli was excellent and the variety of biscotti was impressive and each were so delicious. I'll happily come back for more!

The best place for cannoli. If I don't bring these home when I pass by I am in trouble. I also love the pecan bars, almond and chocolate croissants. In all honesty EVERYTHING is good

I can honestly say I loved termini bros for so many years But the One in the Reading terminal is starting to really drop the ball. This is a picture of the chocolate croissant I got last week. There is more chocolate in a Hershey’s kiss also the sfgoliatella was stale For spending so much money in that place every time you walk in, The quality has really taken a downward turn

I just love their lobster tail ,it is so so so good and the mouse cake is to die for over all amazing for desserts. The lady on the counter is so helpful and polite . Highly recommend.

Lebanese restaurant
Restaurant
Suraya Restaurant is a chic and spacious Lebanese cafe, market, and restaurant with a bar and an outdoor garden. It offers all-day Lebanese fare designed for sampling and sharing. The menu includes modern takes on traditional family Lebanese recipes, featuring dishes like pita, baba ganoush, fried kibbeh, roasted lamb, grilled branzino, and various desserts. Tasting menus are available to feed two or four people at set prices.
Suraya absolutely exceeded our expectations on every level. The mezze selection was incredible - we couldn’t get enough of the dips, particularly the eggplant dishes which were perfectly seasoned and had amazing texture. The halabi kebab was a standout, cooked to perfection with wonderful spice balance. The bronzino was fresh and beautifully prepared, and don’t even get me started on the desserts! The knafeh was absolutely divine - crispy, sweet, and the perfect end to an amazing meal. But the food is only part of what makes Suraya so special. The open kitchen creates such a dynamic energy - you can watch the skilled chefs at work, which adds to the whole experience. And that giant back garden seating area is absolutely magical! The outdoor space has such a unique, vibrant atmosphere that makes you feel like you’ve been transported somewhere exotic. The vibe throughout the entire restaurant is just incredible - from the bustling open kitchen to the lush garden, every corner has character and charm. This is more than just a meal; it’s a complete sensory experience. We’ll definitely be back to work our way through more of the menu and soak up that amazing atmosphere again. Highly recommend for anyone looking for top-tier Middle Eastern cuisine and an unforgettable dining experience in Philadelphia

Excellent customer service and friendly staff. We felt very welcomed. The ambiance is gorgeous, modern nature inspired. There is outdoor and indoor seating available. We loved the outside garden with rhe sounds of nature in the background. Everything was just done beautifully. The serve was outstanding! Very attentive and patient staff. The food hit another mark! Delicious, flavorful, and good portion sizes. The fried cauliflower was my favorite. It had so much flavor and crispiness. I was so tempted to order another. The cherry tart was delicious, a very nice balance of svory and sweet. Definitely recommend making reservations. Parking on the street is scarce.

I took my girlfriend here for our anniversary, and I have to say it was one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. Our server Hannah was amazing and made us feel genuinely taken care of. In addition to the fantastic service, the food was to die for. I highly recommend the tasting menu. Each dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor, making it a great way to experience everything the restaurant has to offer. Definitely will be coming back!

Top tier! Everything from the ambience to the service and food was truly great ◡̈ fave bites were the raw yellowtail app and the branzino entree. Both were impressively well-balanced in terms of flavor and texture! Also, the lover & lover espresso martini with cardamom foam is hands down the best drink I’ve ever had. Only thing I would change is having the kanafeh as dessert. It felt quite heavy, and we thought the salty cheese made it feel less like the sweet treat we were looking forward to having as the finish to our meal. Would 10000% go back!

We tried the tasting menu at Suraya on a Saturday evening, and it was absolutely outstanding! Every course was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented , a true culinary journey through vibrant Beirut/Lebanon flavors. The portions were generous, and each dish complemented the next perfectly. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and made delicious recommendations throughout the meal. Suraya is the perfect spot for an exceptional dining experience
LaAm — Google review
We had an amazing dining experience at Suraya in Philadelphia. The restaurant has a beautiful garden that creates a relaxing and elegant atmosphere, perfect for enjoying Middle Eastern flavors in style. We started with the Taste of Suraya for the table, which included muhammara, baba ghanoush, hummus, tabouli, and labneh served with warm pita. The baba ghanoush was my favorite with its smoky and rich flavor. The tabouli was fresh and bright, although I have enjoyed better versions elsewhere. For appetizers we had fattah and shish barak. The fattah was absolutely delicious, creamy, and perfectly balanced. The shish barak was good, but I did not feel it was worth the extra ten dollars. For the main course we ordered djej meshwi and kawarma, both bursting with flavor. I especially loved the kawarma with its perfectly seasoned marination. The djej meshwi was also excellent, and the touch of sumac really enhanced its taste. For dessert we enjoyed the pistachio tart and the verrine, both of which were delightful and a great way to end the meal. We also tried Arak MASSAYA, which reminded me of Aragh from Iranian culture. It was as strong as Aragh, but even more flavorful, and I loved how its clear color turned milky white when mixed with water. Overall, Suraya offers a fine-dining experience with excellent food, beautiful presentation, and warm service. The quality and atmosphere make it worth the price, and our meal for two cost a little over $100, which felt reasonable for such an exceptional evening. Highly recommended.

Overall this place is a solid middle eastern restaurant. Food was “good” and the service was exceptional. The choices in the preset menu provides us abundant choices. We had a great time with the staff being very attentive. However, we did have an issue with our table and its location as we were situated right by the door with patrons and especially staff constantly going in and out to the patio area on a cold night. I do not recommend using this table during colder months/days. We also felt pretty cramped on a small table for a party of 8.
Alpesh P — Google review
Went for their brunch tasting menu and really loved it. Service was attentive and very accommodating to our wishes. The starters were very tasty and fulfilling. The pita is delicious and served fresh! We had samke harra and halabi kabab and both were really well made! The rose water lemonade was amazing too! And their bakery items also were so fresh and delicious! I was very impressed how every little detail was designed well in the ambiance. The trays the servers served with to the scented candles in the bathrooms. Everything is well thought through and upscale looking. What impressed me even more was that the napkins were spotless white and ironed! Only recommendation I have is to fix and clean the pillows in the sunroom. They are ripped and dirty. Design wise everything is extremely pleasant.

The four refurbished suites pay homage to the building's history, featuring polished concrete floors, exposed brick walls, and stylish decor. The outdoor seating is absolutely fantastic! I highly recommend trying the flat iron steak cooked to medium – it’s cooked to perfection! And don't skip the beets; they are simply divine. To top it all off, the polite and attentive dining staff made my experience truly delightful!

The food was absolutely amazing, id dare to say astonishing. Steak was cooked perfectly and the lobster melted in my mouth. The red pasta sauce on the spaghetti was well balanced and not too acidic. Apps were delicious and i would strongly recommend the calamari as it was so tasty, even the tomatoes were to die for. Will was a wonderful server, attentive, warm, and knowledgeable.

We came here as a group of 14 and every single person thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The team at Wm. Mulherin’s Sons really knows how to craft a great dining experience —m from their excellent cocktails (we tried a few different ones, all amazing) to the warm service and cozy vibe. We sampled nearly everything on the menu appetizers, pizza, pasta, and steak and not a single dish disappointed. Some standouts: the crispy octopus, wood-fired beets, carbonara, Margherita pizza, Al Funghi pizza, Flat Iron steak, and the Sweet Jawn. And to finish it all off, their tiramisu was absolutely perfect. Highly recommend this spot which is perfect for groups, date nights, or anyone who just loves great food, cocktails, and atmosphere. One of Philly’s best dining experiences!

This goes down as one of the best meals I’ve had in Philly. The octopus changed my life!!!! They told me it was their signature dish, and I was very skeptical. It was tender, crispy, flavorful, inventive!!!! I could have eaten ten of them. The pasta was so beautiful- I got the sausage rigatoni. The sausage was fresh and I believe local!!! We were so impressed we finished off with pizza which absolutely lived up to the hype. Wood fired, fresh, flavorful. Don’t ask me how we walked out of here. The service was making. Fire was lit and atmosphere was cozy despite how crowded it was!

We orders the crispy octopus, margherita pizza, and tagliatelle. The crispy octopus was missing something that my gf and I couldn’t pinpoint but was still good. Our pizza had too much char on the bottom with imposed too much bitterness. I think there oven was set too high. The tagliatelle was delicious. I don’t know but our waiter had too many 2 person tables that were starting and finishing at the same time so he was overwhelmed but did his best. That being said we waited too long between for our drinks to come multiple times. Overall we thought for price point of the menu, the food and service lacked.
Kevin B — Google review
Be aware when you order a cocktail! Food was good, as always, grilled calamari is a standout. We ordered a Sister Francis, $16, and wanted something else, so we ordered a classic Manhattan. Our lovely server asked us if we wanted bourbon or rye. We chose rye. It's an either/or sort of cocktail. Then the bill came: $22 for the Manhattan (what?) $4 up charge for NO ICE, that's right, they charged us to not have ice $4 for a top shelf rye that we didn't ask for, didn't know we were getting and have no idea if we got it. Total $30 for a $16 cocktail. The manager did comp us one cocktail as he felt bad about the upcharging. So the picture of the receipt is for one cocktail. If you go -- check the bill carefully!

Went here yesterday to celebrate my husband's 33rd birthday! We were there a few minutes before dinner service so we sat at the bar for some cocktails while we waited. I got the bees knees with bluecoat gin & my husband got their seasonal special 'too close to the sun.' Both were delicious. When we were seated our waitress Jillian (hope I spelled it right) was so happy & ready to make it a special evening. I ordered the following items: crispy octopus, the seasonal special white pizza with gorganzola, pear, walnuts & balsamic, tagliatelle, skirt steak & prawns! For dessert my husband got this hazelnut chocolate item & I got their seasonal dessert which was this apple cake. They put a candle on my husbands dessert and it was a wonderful end to the evening. Its definitely my favorite restaurant!
Ashley J — Google review
This restaurant is overrated. The food was OK and the service was bad for the caliber of the place and the prices on the menu. My son took me to dinner this past Friday. The server had a bad attitude, he seemed bothered and acted like he was doing us a favor. We gave him our cocktail and wine orders and he didn’t bring the drinks until the appetizers were on the table. We order several appetizers to taste which I could easily replicate at home. A couple of pasta dishes as main dishes. The amount of meat and pasta was not compatible for the price, it look like we had ordered appetizers. Then we ordered the tiramisu which lacked authenticity. I thought we were getting the real taste of the sponge cake, mascarpone and espresso coffee in the middle, but it turned out to be like a moose and way too sweet and chocolatey. During our dinner, the waiter never came to check on us until he brought us the check. A very big disappointment.

Mediterranean restaurant
Bar
The Spice Finch restaurant in Rittenhouse specializes in Mediterranean cuisine with elevated mid-century details. The menu features a variety of dishes from Greece, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey and other Northern African countries. The small plates and packed with lots of fresh vegetables make it a great choice for a casual meal or for feeding a larger group.
The roasted eggplant (main dish) and halloumi gem salad (small plate) were delicious and very filling. The service was fabulous and attentive as well - my main server (Katie) and the young man bringing out the dishes were warm and friendly. The wait time for seating and food was very short, almost non-existent. And my dog was given his own water bowl and fawned over which was super sweet. I will be back!

What a gem! Spice Finch in Philadelphia absolutely blew us away. From the moment we walked in, the service was phenomenal – attentive, friendly, and genuinely helpful. We dove into their amazing small plates to share, and each dish was a burst of flavor and creativity. It's truly a fantastic spot for sharing and trying a variety of their offerings. And for all our plant-based friends out there, you'll be thrilled to know they have great options for vegans as well, which is always a huge plus. To top it all off, their drinks were expertly crafted and perfectly complemented the food. Spice Finch is definitely a five-star experience and a must-visit in Philly!

It was a good experience, but i just went to Her Place, so it is hardbfor me to give this place a 5 star. I think Google should increase to 10 point system! Overall great food, nice flavor but nothing wowing.. i liked eggplant a lot. Now I am inspired to make morneggplany dish. I loved the peri peri shrimp. I liked it so much forgot to take a photo. The shrimp was great texture. Asparagus was good, especially the sour mushroom on top. I will use more lemon in my cooking now too. I did not like the steak small dish. The meat was dry and flavorless.. The service was good. They are very anxious to clean my table, keep asking if i am done.. it was very interesting. Final verdict: you should try!

This place is a really nice, small, Mediterranean restaurant. The staff was pleasant, and my waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and offered many great suggestions. I had small plates and everything was absolutely delicious. I ate way too much because I just didn’t want to stop eating! If you’re looking for great, tapas style or full dishes, Mediterranean food, definitely check out Finch!

Found myself at this establishment this past Friday evening on a stroll out alone and decided to give it a go. The space is vast with ample room at the bar to snag a seat and enjoy a beverage and a meal. I was greeted by the bartender who was super sweet and extremely friendly. He made a suggestion or two when I asked and was pleasantly surprised at the delicious concoction he prepared for me. The sugar rimmed margarita was so good I had 2. Dinner was punctual and prepared exactly how the menu described it. No surprise ingredients or sauces. My only gripe, it would have been better to go here with someone or a small group. The tapas looked and sounded amazing however eating solo there’s only so many dishes you want to order. Def give this place a go! It’s worth it

Brought my fiancé here last night for what was supposed to be a birthday dinner. I made the reservation on Resy and specified it was for a birthday occasion. However, it was never mentioned by any staff while we were there. We both agreed the food was “good” but nothing extraordinary. The sides of rice we were served with our main course were the worst part. No flavor to speak of. We did not finish them. As you can see, the one bowl is just plain rice with a dab of butter on top. It didn’t have any notable seasoning whatsoever. They also put wilted sprigs of parsley on top of everything, which is frankly, embarrassing. It’s safe to say we won’t be recommending Spice Finch or returning. Our first experience already said it all.

Shoutout to Jaylene! She was my girlfriend and I's waitress on our anniversary dinner and she did such an amazing job in making sure we were well taken care of! Answered any questions we had and had a very personable personality, she deserves all the praise. Moving onto the food however, we were BLOWN away by the chef's tasting menu. It was our first time at Spice Finch so we didn't know what to expect, but every course/meal definitely left a mark on us; from the shishito peppers, broccoli tabbouleh, chickpea wedges, lamb shank (SO tender), etc. We also had cocktails to complement the dinner and they were perfectly handcrafted by the bartender. All in all, it was a great experience and definitely a place to visit while you're in the city. Will definitely be back!

Spice Finch has become our go-to spot for hosting business dinners of all sizes — from intimate groups of 10 to larger gatherings of around 30 people. Their menu is outstanding, with a wide selection of dishes that accommodate all kinds of allergies and dietary restrictions. The food is consistently delicious, and the service is exceptional. The staff are incredibly considerate, professional, and flexible. On one occasion when our table was delayed about 45–60 minutes due to a previous reservation, the team went above and beyond by offering complimentary appetizers and ensuring our group was comfortable and well taken care of. Another time, we reserved for 23–26 people but ended up with a group of 30 — and they still managed to accommodate us seamlessly. Highly recommend Spice Finch for its great food, excellent service, and warm ambiance. A perfect choice for business dinners and special occasions!

Their quiches are amazing! I had the quiche Lorraine and it exceeded my expectations. It was crispy on the outside, melty on the inside, balanced flavor and all in all delicious! I would absolutely recommend this! I also tried the almond and chocolate croissant which I wasn't really impressed with, but it was good. I would expect more flakiness like a butter croissant but it was ok. The salad - I had the goat cheese and raw beet salad. Fresh and crispy however the dressing was overpowering citrus-y and ruined the experience for me. I should have tried it first before I dumped it all on the salad. So if you do get that salad, try the dressing first and then dress your salad accordingly. The service was good and friendly. My food was ready in a timely manner and I had it to go, which they had thoughtfully prepared in a bag with everything I needed - even an extra set of utensils (one for the salad and one for the quiche - thank you for that, Frieda!) I love the idea of bringing people together and gaining wisdom and experience from our elders. I loved everything about Frieda and will be back!

La Colombe Coffee Roasters is a trendy cafe known for its artisanal coffee, pastries, and snacks in a stylish setting. The flagship location in Fishtown offers a unique experience with its palatable medium-to-dark roast coffee served with cream and sugar on a plate, complemented by hanging globe lights and coffee-themed art. Despite the absence of WiFi, it remains popular among coffee lovers for meetups or leisurely reading.
This was the best coffee we had on the east coast and probably makes my top ten on taste alone. We got a simple vanilla late and it was perfect. Not too sweat, very rich, creamy and a nice consistency. The atmosphere is pretty top notch as well. The natural lighting, huge ceilings, wooden barel designs, and a twist on modern designs. Even with how busy it is, there is usually a good amount of seating. That being said, it is busy. The line wrapped around the display area but it went fast. The staff was friendly and pretty fast for how many people were there. They have a Woodfire oven for pizza too which goes to show the quality of the food as well. Overall it's a top notch coffee shop that we will go to every weekend while we are here.

This place is amazing! It was packed, however, the atmosphere didn't feel like it was crowded. Everyone from the food service to the patrons of the restaurant. We're all friendly, the food is amazing!!!! Everything that I tried was very, very good. The decor of the place kind of felt like outdoorsy, woodsy, camp fire like vibe. They have vegetarian as well as vegan options for my family who do not consume meat. They also have cold pressed juices that are fresh, different types of tea, coffee, lattes, and cappuccino. I highly highly recommend that you visit this place. You will not be disappointed ❤️🙌🏽😋

Highlight of the place is the chill atmosphere to work in. Coffee was good, but i wish their savory pastries were heated. Sweet potato danish was excellent, but more like pumpkin spice than true sweet potato.

I can never say enough about my favorite coffee in the world. When it comes to my Oatmilk latte, no one makes it better then La Colombe. Starbucks doesn't hold a candle to this coffee house. I wish there were more locations, especially in the north New Jersey area where we live. The closest location for me is the Bryant Park location on 40th and 6th Avenue in NYC. My wife and I had the recent privilege to visit the Philadelphia flagship store and boy it did not disappoint. Located in a gorgeous refurbished warehouse in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philly, this coffee house is a restaurant, bakery and bar rolled into one. Plenty of seating for family, friends or even if you want to bring your computer to get some work done. They have a weekday half-price happy hour, serve breakfast lunch and dinner. Also included are classes in espresso, latte and other home brewing procedures. A tasting room is also located in the back area. We had breakfast that was out of this world, I kid you not.😁 I had these amazing Castle Valley breakfast grits w/bacon, spinach, fried eggs, roasted tomatoes with everything bagel seasoning. Best grits north of the border.👌🏼 My wife ordered the French Drip, roast beef, caramelized onions, aged white cheddar, horseradish cream and coffee au jus on a seeded bun. Of course 2 large oatmilk lattes with cinnamon topped with whipped cream.🤤🤤 It was hard to find the main food menus for this place because they do not have it on La Colombe's main website or even Google had limited main food menu items. I was able to locate the detailed menus with pictures on Yelp. I do know the company was sold in 2023 to Chobani and the original co-founder Todd Carmichael is still the CEO I believe? I hope Chobani does not mess with the La Colombe brand, because it works well just the way it is. Time will tell. I highly recommend you check out the locations when visiting Philly. The staff was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Well enough of my babbling on, you will love them, trust me. Enjoy coffe lovers.☕️❤️🍳🥖🥐😊

Best café I've been to yet, and I frequent them! I ordered an iced vanilla latte, a chocolate croissant, and the ham and butter sandwich. The sandwich was fantastic and filling with the side of crispy chips and pickle spear. The ham was a little smoky and had depth in flavor complimented by the fresh baguette and butter, pretty good for the price ($12.50 I believe, you could eat it for lunch and be satisfied). The chocolate croissant was buttery and flaky (and huge! definitely a size and quality worth $4.50) and the latte itself might be the best one I've ever had. The vanilla wasn't overpowering -- I could enjoy the subtle sweetness paired with the lovely fresh double shot of the La Colombe Nizza blend, all tied together beautifully with the fat of whole milk. The espresso itself was some of the best I've had and was fully worth the $6.50. The old building with high ceilings and raw brick create a lovely atmosphere, the sun streaming in for lovely natural lighting. The plates provided are a lovely vegetal pattern and I was in love with them, and the entire space had a beautiful brownish red earth tone vibe broken up by the people within and a few plants scattered about. Such an amazing atmosphere. And of course the staff. I wish I caught names, they were all very kind to me and happy to answer my questions and made sure my sandwich went into the kitchen before it closed (as I had arrived 2 minutes before). Truly a wonderful coffee workshop. I wish I lived closer, but maybe it's better for my wallet that I don't, I'd be there daily!

La Colombe’s flagship location is one of the gems of the neighborhood here in Fishtown-NoLibs. The space itself has that perfect balance of buzzing energy and relaxed atmosphere . whether you’re grabbing a quick draft latte to go or sitting down to catch up with a friend, it always feels welcoming. The coffee is consistently excellent (their draft latte is still unmatched), and the pastries and food options are a cut above your typical café. Service is friendly and efficient even when it’s packed, which says a lot given how busy this spot can get. What I love most is that it feels like a true community hub, locals, professionals, students, everyone passing through. It’s a reminder of why La Colombe has become such a Philly institution. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.

Oh my goodness I don’t know where to start. My friend and I wanted to try somewhere new today for a quick bite to eat, we ran across HARPER’S. When we walked in the Celia was at the door with a great big welcoming smile, we were seated at the bar as it was pretty booked. The atmosphere was amazing nice seating, the decor was elegant and the lighting was perfect. Abby was our server, she was very informative with the menu and provided suggestions for us as this was our first time dining experience here. She also inquired about any food allergies we may have(👍🏾) When are food arrived we were all smiles…PRESENTATION IS EVERYTHING…the food looked as good as it tasted. The salad was fresh nicely dressed and the grilled shrimp was seasoned to Perfection. The dessert was delicious. It was a Great Experience and I will definitely recommend others and visit again with a reservation next time 😊

We were under the impression of relax garden atmosphere and thought it’s going to be nice place but we were very disappointed, due to many things. The General manager, Leo, treated us with a negative attitude from the moment he slumped himself over our table and proceeded to justify all the systemic errors we experienced that had nothing to do with us, yet as customers we had to listen to his brash, rude, attitude, relating to operating issues and lack of any customer service, in our opinion he is a burden to this place and should take some time to read “Setting the Table”, to learn the art of customer service. . We had to carry our food from one table to another ourselves..none of many free waiters walking aimlessly around wanted to help us, they even went so far as to refuse to help when we ask them. Utter confusion ensued as we carried our food to our new reserved seating with the servers own black round trays. We didn’t realize we came for a picnic where a tiny plate of overcooked salmon cost $24 and we are also expected to tip on top!!! You would think by then somebody would wake up and have some awareness of their working environment and the basic duties required when choosing the job of being a server/wait staff. To no avail though clearly we didn’t even have a server at the new table. The young girl directly behind us at a computer looked confused, dumbfounded and clearly had no critical thinking skills. Next thing a man (who does not introduce himself, no name, nothing) takes it upon himself to have no etiquette whatsoever as he drapes himself in our space to the point he is leaning on his elbows on our table, speaking AT us right over food that we were eating, with no concern for our hygiene. My friend has lung disease and auto immune disease. Is there any OSHA training done here? Especially with the General Manager which is a State requirement. But I will say there were some helpful and other nice staff members Canna, (bartender) Nick and bar beck Jody and other manager Alise. In general this place gives the vibe of a dive bar with no real appeal, no true idea of the intricacies of what CUSTOMER service entails, which should be a seamless experience where the experience alone makes you no you will return. Not cheep tacky plastic dishes and music where you’re reminded of clubbing in Chicago till 6am in 2007. We thought that it’s going to be a quality restaurant experience with a garden vibe where we could relax and hear ourselves think Instead we experienced something no one ever should. Garden vibes? No? Tables you cannot even push together? Yes! Servers away with the fairies? Yes! Intimidating random man suddenly in your space? Definitely? Could go on….. cannot waste anymore energy on this.

Its a beautiful place, servers are polite and attentive. Food was ok. My crab cake and avocado eggs Benedict were very average. ● mimosa was very good, cappuccino very milky ● The crab cake was thinner than sausage and big lump of avocado just plonked on a muffin. Hash were the worst. Stale and hard. Eggs were below room temperature , fully cooked, rather than soft centered as they should've been ● Nashville chicken and grits were good, accompanying polish sausage were super. ● Omelet was ....omelet. nothing great. Served warm, not piping hot ● weirdly no breads were offered or served at all. 3 people bill was 90$ so pretty reasonable. Won't return though.

Omg from the ambience to the services. I was in heaven and the food did not disappoint. They have the most freshest oysters in center city! And the bartenders love their craft! Also have great non alcoholic mock-tails , which I had . I’m an espresso martini girl that recently stopped drinking . Well that n/an espresso martini was amazing ! From our appetizers to our entrees , I was pleased! This is my top 5 favorite restaurant and I will be returning!

Slow service and charged more than what I signed for. The waiter was not attentive and was difficult to get ahold of. Spilled a bit of one of our drinks, never refilled our waters, and took a long time to give us the check. Furthermore, the restaurant overcharged my credit card (receipts attached below), which I’m not too fond of. However, the food we ordered did taste good. I got the ham and sautéed spinach eggs Benedict and the Strawberry Swing cocktail.

Came here unexpectedly for a mid week lunch and was pleasantly surprised! We sat in the green house area and it was so cute. The drinks were strong and tasty. For food we shared the Brussels sprouts and spicy flatbread and I got the crab ravioli for my entree. The Brussels were very tasty and had the perfect flavor profile but could be a little more crispy in my opinion. The flatbread was a let down, very small and the dough was too soft and sweet. The ravioli surprised me the sauce was lemony and cheesy and I loved this dish. I would come back again!

Manakeesh Cafe Bakery & Grill is a Lebanese eatery located near other halal restaurants, offering traditional sweet and savory fare. The menu features Middle Eastern desserts like baklava, maamoul, and basboosa, as well as Lebanese specialties such as fatteh and lahm bajeen. Baklava is a popular year-round treat at this bakery, with various flavors available.
Food is always good! Service is pleasant. I love their hummus! Turtle cheesecake was love! 1 of my top choice places. They are a little lite on the chicken, but heavy on the price🤑 It's good though.

Heard from multiple people that this was a must for West Philly so my expectations were high but after going, I wouldn’t say I was blown away. They have the classic Mediterranean staples although I did notice that things were on the pricey side for what it was. $8 for a falafel wrap that had no hummus, lettuce, cucumber was a bit disappointing. The fries were really good and I was glad I got them on the side. I also tried my friend’s Lebanese bread and it was quite good so you should definitely try one if you go. I was a bit put off by the ants on the table and the bugs flying around. I think Philly is buggy, especially in the summer, but it wasn’t an enjoyable dinning in experience because of that.

Food During our stay, we dined here multiple times. For an evening meal, we ordered Beef Cheese Steak Manakeesh and Chicken Shawarma without rice. We also sampled various types of Baklava, including the Pistachio Square and Walnut Square. We truly appreciated the crisp layers and lightly sweet flavor. The Pistachio Maamoul was delightful and fresh, without being overly sweet. The Power Bar, the sweetest dessert we tried, was deliciously nutty and crunchy. Throughout our visits, we enjoyed bottles of water, the Turkish Coffee Pot, and the Manakeesh Tea Pot. The refreshing mint tea option was a highlight for us. Service The staff members are genuinely delightful and make an effort to bridge cultural barriers, ensuring you have a wonderful experience. Atmosphere The restaurant features a spacious dining area, while the coffee shop section offers a cozy, smaller seating area—perfect for enjoying a hot tea and a treat in the evenings.

The food is pretty good and so is the service. My friend lived her falafel wrap. My beef wrap was tasty but I did not love the cut of meat. The staff is really pleasant and the space is so lovely. It would have been amazing had the pastries being good but they were overpriced and we could not eat it.

The smoothies here are so good! Fresh, flavorful, and not overly sweet like some places. They were super refreshing, perfect texture, and didn’t taste artificial at all. You can tell they use quality ingredients. What really stood out though was the staff. Everyone was really friendly and patient Overall, it’s a chill spot with great service and even better smoothies. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re in the area or just craving something healthy and tasty.

This is one of the best middle eastern restaurant I’ve been to and tried in Philadelphia. The food comes first because let me tell you, it’s so good and flavorful. I ordered a spinach manakeesh and zaaqtar and cheese combo manakeesh, and DAMN ITS GOOD. I also decided to give their shawarma a try, but it tastes kind of the same as other restaurants because shawarma in the Middle East is unbeatable.the dining areas are quiet and very beautiful. The service is excellent and everyone is kind. I once accidentally dropped a yogurt bottle and one of the employee’s came and cleaned it and of course I had to apologize for the mess.

We have arrived to Philadelphia at 8 am and luckily Manakeesh opens early. Shakshuka with beef sausage were very tasty and it was perfectly combined with their homemade fresh bread. Hot tea with fresh mint was very refreshing for breakfast. Service was a bit slow, but I assume this is alright as owners personally runs the kitchen. Everything in Manakeesh is halal. No pork is served. Right outside there is nice little mosque. Thank you Manakeesh for great breakfast

I just ate the best falafel wrap (w hummus) I've ever had. Their hummus is truly exceptional -- I don't know if I've ever felt passionately about hummus, but theirs is truly top notch. The falafels are also incredibly tasty and aren't too oily which is a common issue with falafels imo. Service is always super friendly and great! Love this place!

Restaurant
Bar Hygge is a microbrewery and brewpub located in Fairmount-Spring Garden, Philadelphia. The name "Hygge" comes from the Danish word for contentment while surrounded by friends. The cozy industrial-style taproom offers a laid-back atmosphere with comfortable couches where guests can enjoy a variety of delicious beer styles brewed in-house by Brewery Techne.
Great, trendy restaurant in Fairmount. Being within a 10 minute walk from both The Met and Eastern State Penitentiary, it makes a great lunch or dinner location for a day out on the town. The beer was great! The Lemon Meringue IPA and Trippy IPA were very tasty and smooth. My partner is a big craft beer guy and he was impressed as well. Food was also great! The fried chicken sandwich was perfect. My partner ordered a burger medium rare, it definitely came out on the rare side! Service was a little hectic, both the staff seating us and taking our orders seemed overwhelmed but everyone was still lovely to interact with and the food was very quick coming out. Easy to get a quick meal in before a show!
Rachel S — Google review
This was an excellent "pre-game" choice for a concert at the Met. 10-15 minute walk from the venue. Our waitress was AMAZING. VERY interactive and knowledgeable. Sweet and also gorgeous smile which made us all feel welcomed. The beer they make was delicious. The happy hour specials were great value and delicious. Also great beer specials. I knocked a star off for the food. It was good. But for $27 I got a hamburger with an egg and bacon on it with a side salad. The burger was ordered medium. It was very thin and fell apart when I put my fork in it. The egg was well done, which I guess I should have asked for over easy? The idea is to have yolk run down into the juicy burger patty. I got neither. But the side salad and dressing was delicious. And the bacon was done perfectly. The price of the food did NOT match the quality of the food. But maybe we are paying for atmosphere. Go for happy hour so it's discounted. And the music fit the crowd. Kudos to the manager who knew the concert and played music for the crowd.

We love it here, especially when the weather’s nice and you can get a seat outside. Fun food, and the service is always fantastic. And we love their Happy Hour… $4 drafts, a $12 appetizer board and 25% off draft wines. Crab fries aren’t on the HH menu, but they’re loaded with crab and definitely worth ordering either way (best bet is to pay $5 to upgrade your sandwich fries). That’s a HALF sandwich/fries side pictured btw - they split our order in the kitchen 🙏

Bar Hygge, Philadelphia, PA. Spoiler alert; This is a no for me. Bar Hygge is in Eastern State Penitentiary’s neighborhood. It was very busy. I grabbed a seat at the bar from a couple that was leaving. They have approximately 8 taps. I got the Lemon Meringue. Mostly because I wanted to say Lemon Meringue. Getting a beer based on name because they don’t have a beer on tap that you usually get. Then you like the beer you got. Is that bad because they don’t have something you know you’ll like or is it good because I tried something new and liked it?? The bartender recommended the crab fries. The crab topping was pretty tasty. The fries were a thicker cut, under cooked and soaked in oil. Sidebar - 2 days later I took my leftover crab fries. I scraped off the topping. Put fries in microwave for a minute. Then in Air Fryer for 5 minutes. Put the topping back on - Don’t judge, I’m am stubborn and frugal - They were 1268% better. I had a win the shirt off my back winner.

I Stopped By After Work On A Tuesday For Happy Hour. Overall Pretty Good Experience. They Have A Nice Open Space & When I Came In Around 4:50pm There Weren’t Many People So Service Was Really Fast. From The Happy Hour Menu I Got The Lavender Lemonade With Vodka (apparently it’s the same thing as the punch but the lemonade is the alcohol free version). I Also Ordered 6 Of The $2 Oysters. Aside From That I Got The Salmon Ceviche, 1 Barbecued Oyster, 1 Roasted Oyster, & A Mango Mint Sangria. Everything I Ordered Was Pretty Good. Would Like To Add That Music Selection Was Surprisingly Good Very Nice Variety Throwback R&B, Pop Hits, & Spanish Hits. The Only Thing I Don’t Like Is That My Server/Bartender Walked Away From Me Mid Sentence When I Was About To Order The Sangria To Greet People Who Were Just Arriving. I Understand You Have To Greet But I Felt A Bit Disrespected The Way It Happened.
Marie N — Google review
The rib appetizer was great.,the beet salad with chicken was sub-par. The beets tasted like they were straight from a can and the chicken was so dry I couldn’t even finish it. The cola was flat, and the water was unfiltered tap that taste like chlorine. I won’t be back. I will say the wait staff was fantastic.
Justin M — Google review
Dining outside at Bar Hygge enjoying the neighborhood vibe is a special treat. The sandwiches come on nicely tosted brioche buns and are nicely sized. Also, the red wine vinaigrette for the side salad is delicious.

This is such an interesting place. Building their brand around the “hygge” thing feels like a tacky appeal to brunch moms, and there is definitely a little of this in the vibe, but overall the place is quite a bit better than that brand would suggest. Food is great. Cocktails are hit or miss.

South Philly Barbacoa is a renowned Mexican restaurant in Philadelphia's Italian Market, known for its traditional slow-cooked barbacoa-style tacos and toppings. The eatery has gained widespread acclaim, with Chef Cristina Martinez's lamb barbacoa version being particularly beloved. Featured on 'Chef's Table,' the restaurant has garnered attention not only for its juicy tacos but also for Martinez's advocacy for immigrants' rights and food security. Open only on Saturdays and Sundays from 5 a.m.
I found out about this place on Netflix and wanted to check it out for myself. We all went down for dinner and each had a plate of tacos and a horchata. Everything was delicious! This place is truly a treat. The chef/owner was friendly and accommodating and could not have been a better hostess. We were able to pay with card by ordering on their new computerized menu, instead of cash only - which undoubtedly makes it easier for the staff. We did miss the traditional table service as the girl in the front was busy with take-away customers and wasn’t really available to answer questions (for example, you can only get three tacos with one type of meat and you can only order the Aqua Fresca even though the fridges have four different homemade drinks). Still, the food is outstanding and once we were seated the service was excellent. This place is definitely worth a visit for an authentic taste of Mexico in South Philly.

Really great tacos! The classic barbacoa is so tender and delicious, especially with all the salsas, pickled, and fresh veggies that are self-serve. But the pancita was a true standout- don’t be scared by the offal! I could eat those every day! And the tortillas are so fresh, soft, and delicious, They also now have a self- service kiosk where you can pay by credit card now, otherwise it’s cash/venmo if you order at the counter. Also, get the consome!

First we heard about it from friends, than we watched the Netflix documentary and later we decided to check it out and we were surprised by been hosted by chef Cristina!! No reservations and no waiting line when we got there on a Sunday for lunch. We had the best experience in a long time and the lamb tacos were amazing. Perfect food, ambience and great service. Price very reasonable.

Went really early in the morning to eat so didn't get the atmosphere of what it's like packed with people. Obviously ordered the Barbacoa and it was amazing. Love the spice and texture fall apart amazing. Spice it up with the picked veggies and sauces nothing like it. Also chips and guacamole where an instant hit with the wife.

Barbacoa love lives here. These folks preach the gospel and today's sermon is soft, moist and delicious porky goodness. I had mine as a taco and can't wait to return.

This place is a treat. The tacos were the best I have ever had. The meat is lamb and I had the barbacoa and the pancita. Both were delicious, tender, rich and full of flavour in different ways. The tortillas smelled divine from down the block and were so tasty and had the ideal thickness and chew imho. The toppings and pickles (salsa mia, cactus 🤌🏻🤌🏻) were a treat - and the hotchata was like no other I have had- the cinnamon was beyond ordinary.

Arrived at 18.15pm to find we were the only ones in the restaurant. Used the self-serve as we didn’t have cash. Ordered tacos and quesadilla ($12 and $15) and ordered X2 beers ($6 each). Sat down and selected table serve. Tip provided for this when ordering. Servers x2, quite young but friendly enough but also appeared to not care or know what was going on. We had to go up and ask for our beers after 10 minutes, again, only ones in the restaurant. We were then told they did not have quesadillas so we ordered more tacos, no offer of a refund for the price difference. The female server then called us over to collect our food. We asked for some guacamole or salsa to be told they didn’t have any? The food was very plain, not flavoursome and very sad looking. We paid $60 in total and absolutely not worth it and left most of it, tasteless and greasy.

I never ever had a chance to get to the original location of South Philly Barbacoa. I just remember they’re always being a line out the door on the weekends about a year and a half ago from what I understand they moved to the new location just up the street And this is quite a large location, taking 2 storefronts as you will see in the pictures. I took a chance, not knowing whether they had a vegan option and they actually did clearly marked the menu. The people here were very nice. Pamela was a big help. It does come with steamed root vegetables and it says green in a chili sauce, I know there was some carrot on there. There was also some cabbage, string bean, yellow bell pepper, it really unique sauce Roja that had chocolate infused into it and made for a really different taste. It was very good quite filling, they have a small condiment station or bar whatever you would like to call it on the inside that you can get diced onions, shredded cilantro, pickled jalapeños, limes there may have been a red chili sauce, I took limes, cilantro, onions, and pickled jalapeños. I paid nine dollars for two you have three for $13 very healthy portions. Four out of five stars for the food as fair. While it was different than anything I have ever had. And this is just my opinion. It’s not something that I would have on a regular basis. There were a few places which are unique including taco Ramen that has a tempura batter vegetable taco that’s incredible and I actually crave. I’m wondering if the menu changes if they will eventually incorporate, maybe a few more vegan options , With actual vegan meat, whether it be tofu or seitan, I’ve seen people do wonders with seitan, like Loco Pez does amazing things with it. I’d like to add This restaurant has a very nice atmosphere, they have a nice bar area. Area outside is really nice and well done. Everyone was very nice and accommodating two things one not related to the restaurant is parking can always be challenging down here. Sometimes you get lucky sometimes you have to drive around for a little bit, I had to today. The other thing is they take cash and Venmo and on site they have a ATM so just be prepared. That being said this place has a fantastic reputation for serving amazing tacos, quesadillas, and burritos that have meat products so i would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a authentic freshly Mexican made meal.

ICI Macarons & Cafe offers a range of sweet and savory French cookies and pastries, as well as hot coffee. This bakery is popular with locals for its charming atmosphere and delicious desserts.
I happened to be in Old City and was looking for a cafe open around 5pm. Most had already closed and ICI Macarons & Cafe was still open. While there I noticed the large display of macarons, but they also had pastries. More interested in the pastries I asked the barista about which pastries she recommended. She suggested the ABC if you like sweet croissants. It’s almond, banana chocolate croissant. In addition, to the pastry I ordered I got the passion fruit green tea. Both of the items I ordered were delicious. The passion fruit green tea balanced both flavors so neither was overpowering. My one gripe with the ABC was not warming it up. Other than that, the banana and chocolate worked really nicely. The almonds were there for texture and they didn’t add much flavor. I want to go back at an earlier time to try the rest of pastries.

Newly open location located in the Old City/Society Hill area, they provide outdoor seating space as well, cute café with colorful macarons, I like the lavender and lemon pairing, it’s both delicious and aesthetically pleasing. Maybe next time I would try the lavender lemonade as well(which seems to be quite popular at the location).

Kind and courteous employees. They let us use the restroom and gave us free water. I bought an iced tea and it was great as well. The place is clean and cozy. Not overcrowded and everything is decently priced. They even gave us directions. Would recommend!

The coffee and pastries here are great. The two baristas were very helpful and they took pride in their coffees. There is only two tables, one inside and one outside. So if you’re looking for a place to get some computer work space is limited. Very nice place.

Wondering Philly’s streets at a hot summer day stopped by to this nice and clean place. I got iced tea (they brew it and then chill) with a Brie Cheese and Bacon Crioche and tried Earl Grey macaron. Crioche was buttery, crispy and so fresh! Yammy! Macaron was fresh! of a perfect shape, as well as layers ratio, crispy but moist inside shell and reach earl grey filling! Delicious!

That ube mochi croissant is easily the best croissant I've ever had (in Philly, on the east coast, in Europe, whatever), and I cannot wait till their new location opens in the fall! Also, I'm just in love with coffeeshops that offer espresso tonics; one of favorite iced beverages ☺

Oh my, delicious French macaroons and the croissant muffins were superb too. Sells Vibrant Roaster coffee which is a great local roaster. People behind the counter were super helpful and friendly. One drawback there was no indoor seating, so if it’s not warm enough to sit at the outside tables, then you have to take it away and find some other place to sit and eat.

Love this quiet cafe with friendly staff. It’s a chill environment for small talk and a book, but also the best pastries I’ve had in Philly, comparable to the big name bakeries in NYC. The macarons are also very well done, with flavours that delights the soul. There’s nothing bad about this cafe to comment on. Note how they even wrapped the cruffin in a beautiful way to ensure it doesn’t topple in the paper bag and looks beautiful when you take it out. It is pretty pricey for pastries if you are not used to paying for good quality pastries but worth every penny. 5/5 on all aspects.

First let me start off by saying ALL the servers were GREAT..We celebrated my aunts birthday here and the staff were very helpful with everything and definitely went the extra mile to make our dining experience EXCEPTIONAL. The food was great even though they didn’t have much to select from for a vegetarian to choose from. The Tofu scramble was tasteful and the Fresh Start drink was very tasty. I will definitely be back to visit sometime soon.

Loved this place as our first stop in Philly. The inside of the restaurant is quaint. Food was flavorful and amazing. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the steak and egg plate was $27 and my steak was not fresh, off the grill - possibly because they had it sitting while the potato’s were getting cooked? But eh I just love a fresh steak. Will say thou, even thou it wasn’t HOT, it still tasted so good. Best steak I’ve had in a while. My boyfriend got the waffle and that was so fluffy and yummy. Mimosas are A1. For the 2 drinks and 2 plates it was $70 so a tad pricey for us but overall 8/10.

I wasn’t a fan of the seating we had. We were cramped behind some folks sitting at the bar, wasn’t my favorite space. The server we had was very attentive and nice. The food was out of this world. The pancakes were so delicious, thick and fluffy. They were so yummy! The Fried Chicken & Waffle was delightful!! The chicken was cooked so beautifully with a nice crunch but flavorful and juicy on the inside. The maple gravy wasn’t needed as the sweet potato purée added a balanced level of sweetness and the green were too vinegary. The plate felt a little chaotic but overall wonderful taste. I recommend the Elderflower Spritzer it was like juice and the alcohol snuck up on me in the best way. If this is in your Saved, get up and go!

Came to this spot because we saw it on “Kelly Drives” on local Fox 29. Didn’t have a wait, which was great considering it was Mother’s Day. The seating is a bit tight. The service was subpar. The drinks were awesome though. My husband had shrimp & grits, which he said was great, but his eggs could’ve been cooked a little less (over medium). I had the steak n eggs, I asked for my eggs over hard, they were too hard . They were crispy like potato chips. My steak was so so. I will say they were a little stingy with the chimmichuri sauce for the steak. The waffle was delicious. It was light & fluffy.. I will say I should’ve tried the chicken & waffles….that did look delicious. Overall it wasn’t a total disaster, but there’s many other places to try.

This is easily one of the top brunch spots in Philly—highly recommended! We arrived a bit late, about an hour before closing, and although there was a short 10-minute wait, we were able to get a table. Our server was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. They helped us with a high chair and ensured the car seat was safely placed, which we really appreciated. We ordered the Steak and Eggs and the Savory Scallion Waffle, along with both hot and iced lattes. Everything was fantastic. The steak was perfectly cooked, the eggs were just right, and the house potatoes and toast rounded out the dish beautifully. That said, the Savory Scallion Waffle was the clear standout—our favorite by far. The scallion-studded gravy with chipped beef added a rich texture and flavor that really impressed us. We’re already looking forward to coming back and trying more from their menu! IG: journey_man16

Wait time vs. Food Quality & Service - We really wanted this to be worth the wait. It left…much to be desired. Host handling wait list was efficient, we could see their ‘pacing’ for seatings and were quoted accurately (40min.) for a party of 3. Maybe the only ‘highlight’ notable for our visit. Our server had no greeting, or welcoming demeanor. Just simply asked if we knew what we wanted to order. Asked for a juice, only to find out many many minutes later that they were out of it. Opted out of asking for anything beyond water. Note: Had to wave down our server during the meal to get our empty glasses filled. Just felt neglected as we watched the server hover by the bar, talk up a few regulars, but not actually engaging with the tables in their section. Each ordered a dish and a fruit cup. I had the steak, S/O ordered the chicken and waffles. I think the wait for our food was almost equivalent to our time waitlisted. Felt like it and music for the atmosphere was odd. One dish extra salty, the other under seasoned. Waited again after a few bites, to make eye contact in order to grab takeout boxes and the check. The chunk of time lost to a very basic meal was disheartening. Had high hopes for this spot, and was truly let down.

6/10/25…Had the chance to return here and so happy that we did. The service, the food, so very good. We had the corned beef Reuben with a side salad and a scallion waffle with creamed chipped beef. The food was served hot and was so very good. Look forward to more return visits. 8/18/22...our first time here at this location and we met Mattie, the bartender and Taylor, our server. The place is so very nice, the service was great and the food was incredibly good and flavorful. We had a double hamburger, a savory dutch pancake, creamed chipped beef over a waffle and I had a classic Reuben. We definitely will be returning. A most memorable lunch. Thank you! The place is so quaint! Breakfast was very nice. I had the special, a cheddar, bacon, apple omelet with the best house potatoes for a side. We also tried the pancake, which was light and fluffy. I would like to go back and try other items from the menu. 11/1/25…today’s brunch was a Cobb salad and the scallion waffle with creamed chipped beef…food is consistently good!

Located in a cozy neighbourhood which is home to a number of small businesses, A La Mousse is a sweet shop which specializes in French-style pastries and desserts with an Asian flair. The menu features cake, crepes, panna cotta and more. The cafe offers takeout service and can be preordered online for delivery.
EVERYONE wanted to be here. The food was cute. The price was a little pricey, but you are paying for the show. The drink was DEFINITELY worth the price. The food was good and the experience was worth the price as well. Order and sit because the seats fill quickly. It was a bit hot. It was weird seasonly which is why they might have not had the AC on.

This was sooo fun, I went with my sister on a little sister date. We ordered the tea set for two and got a matcha Mille crepe and a mango mousse. They were both SO SCRUMPTIOUS. The tea was so delicious, I forgot exactly what we ordered but it was white tea with peach, it smells so heavenly. The macarons tho were too sweet for me and my sisters taste, and the cookies I didn't try but my sister said they were good. We ordered the coffee ice cream and it was very refreshing after all the sweets. The food and place are amazing for photos. We took 10 minutes just sitting there taking photos before we ate the food.

This is such a must if you’re in the Philly area and you want some yummy sweet treats. Me and my friends were really excited to try this place because these types of desserts are really popular on TikTok right now. I got the mango crepe cake and I enjoyed it. Maybe I’m not that much of a mango-flavor girly but it still tasted really good the texture was beautiful. A friend also got the mango dessert that’s actually shaped like a mango and that was amazing. The chocolate shell was a perfect pair for the mousse and fresh fruit on the inside. Beyond the food, the service was amazing and the actual place is beautiful inside. I would definitely come back. A little pricey but worth it.

The service was great, everyone was pleasant and the presentation of the food was great. We got 2 mouse cakes and 2 slices, and one tea. the tea was great as well as the mouse, such fun flavors and designs to choose from. The cakes were less enjoyable than the mousse but still unique flavors and textures worth trying. A bit pricey but i expected as much.

If you want a genuinely good matcha latte, come here. I’ve had many lattes before and been disappointed by the lack of matcha flavor, but A La Mousse does it justice. The mango lychee cake was also delicious. Light, creamy, and refreshing. — The only thing I found odd was that we waited a long time (maybe 10 min) for our server to show up at our table despite no one else ordering and then another 5-10 min to return with the two items, one of which was sitting in the display case and just needed to be transferred to a plate. I didn’t feel like the minimal service was worth the surcharge + tip to dine-in. I’d come back but would get my items to-go for that reason.
Denalia — Google review
I was really excited to try this place as I’ve heard about their desserts. I ordered two pastries to go and when I got home to try them, my second bite contained a ROACH. The rest of the dessert contained legs of what I assumed to be another one as well. I was overly disgusted and tried to contact the manager. No one answered and I had to call a different location for them to get in contact with the owner. I was offered a refund, but this experience was a complete health code violation. Won’t be returning!!
Shakenya — Google review
The dessert was good. The tea was pretty standard. It also was packed in there. Would recommend for the experience, and to try. Would find another spot for regular visitation.

A La Mousse offers a fantastic variety of desserts, and our experience there was nothing short of delightful. We tried the mango and matcha options both were incredibly flavorful and beautifully presented. The balance of sweetness and texture really stood out, especially for the matcha, which had that perfect earthy note. They also have a great selection of drinks that pair well with the desserts, making it a perfect spot to relax and treat yourself.

Via Locusta is a stylish restaurant that offers modern Italian cuisine featuring homemade pasta and locally-sourced ingredients. The menu includes a unique pasta dish meant to be eaten with hands, the porcini and black truffle agnolotti served with a cream-based dipping sauce.
I celebrated my birthday here with my girlfriends, and we were not disappointed! The whole evening was absolutely lovely. The drinks were refreshing and beautifully made—just what we needed to kick off the celebration. The food was equally impressive. The pasta was to die for—rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The beet salad was fresh and vibrant, and the mozzarella dish was light, refreshing, and full of flavor. From start to finish, everything was spot-on. I’ll definitely be back—this place made my birthday feel extra special!
Weronika P — Google review
Via Locusta has an extensive happy hour menu that I was excited to try, but it was unfortunately a bit of a let down. Walking in, I absolutely loved the interior. Lots of bar seating and the lighting is perfect for an intimate gathering or date night. Our server, Billie, was also very attentive! Starting with the good - our drinks and focaccia were on point. The valencia ($7) and hugo spritz ($8) were balanced, not overly sweet but strong enough. The focaccia with whipped honey butter made me stop my conversation. Salty, sweet, all the goodness… I loved it! The misses were unfortunately the rest of the meal - zucchini, fritto misto and agnolotti. The agnolotti was not pretty to the eye and did not taste much better. It was room temperature and very bland, I didn’t taste the truffle or porcini. The fritto misto was chewy and not fried enough. The zucchini also only tasted like the batter, I couldn’t taste anything fresh about it. It’s a shame because there are so many options on their happy hour menu at reasonable prices. I unfortunately do not see myself coming back here though.
Ariana L — Google review
Overall, a great dining experience. This is one of our favorite dinner spots in the Philly area. Their happy hour offers cocktails at an excellent value, I highly recommend the Valencia. The food is superb, and if you want to sample a bit of everything, I highly recommend the tasting menu. It’s generous enough to satisfy two hungry people. Pair it with their happy hour specials, and you’ll enjoy a fantastic meal at a great price.
Lewis E — Google review
Had a date night here while visiting Philly, we decided to do the chefs tasting and took our waiter’s recommendations for the dishes. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for, very romantic but also still relaxed and fun. We will definitely be returning!

Have been wanting to go here a WHILE and finally met a friend here for dinner! So glad we did. I got the baby gem Caesar & campanelle and my friend got the roasted carrots & grilled octopus. The food was absolutely delicious. The only complaint I have is that the burrata and focaccia are offered separately so that you have to end up spending $23+ on the two if you want bread with your burrata (who’s eating a bowl of burrata plain at a nice restaurant?)
Sarah V — Google review
Great food, great place to eat, I was dining solo at the bar and the staff looked after me well. Burrata was great, Asparagus also superb. Cacio e Pepe had their own spin on it, it was a nice dish. The venue is a touch noisy but it’s that sort of place, got a nice Friday evening buzz to it.
Andy L — Google review
We really loved the pasta dishes that we ordered (agnolotti and campanelle). The happy hour drinks are also good. Dinner for two + 3 glasses of wine was only $80.
Tiffany C — Google review
All you need is the Sorrento cocktail and the focaccia with honey butter - easily my favorite drink / pairing in the city. That being said, I am overdue to try a full dinner and or brunch here. I’ve only heard good things !! To date, I’ve only had a couple drinks at their bar and it did not disappoint !! A great addition to the Philly restaurant scene.

Mayflower Bakery is a cozy neighborhood bake shop and cafe located in Chinatown, known for its Chinese-style breads, buns, and pastries. This family-owned bakery has been using traditional French techniques since 1990 to create exceptional quiches that are always fresh and packed with flavor. Very good and affordable price. There's a variety of freshly baked bakery.

This place is a gem! We tried the fried red bean buns, almond butter buns and honey cakes. Everything was SO good. We are not from Philly but we would return for this bakery. Great customer service too.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I stopped by Mayflower Bakery & Cafe while I was in Chinatown and I’m so glad I did. The pastry case was packed with options and everything looked super fresh. I grabbed a pineapple bun, a roast pork bun, and a coconut tart, and honestly all three were delicious. The buns were soft and fluffy, the fillings tasted fresh, and the coconut tart was perfectly sweet without being over the top. I also ordered a Vietnamese-style coffee, which was strong and smooth and paired perfectly with the pastries. The place itself is small and simple, but the staff were really friendly and even offered to warm up my pastries, which made them taste even better. Prices are very reasonable, so you can try a bunch of different things without breaking the bank. Overall, it’s the kind of spot I’d happily come back to whenever I’m in the area , tasty food, good coffee, and a welcoming vibe.

This humble Asian Bakery nestled in the heart of Philly’s Chinatown took care of our large group and got all our orders in and out with a smile. My kids said it’s as good as the spot we always go to in Brooklyn. Had to try in myself and for sure was similar. The pork bun was stuffed with morsels of pork and golden light brown crust. There pineapple buns was so good I had two. We went back the next day and ordered a couple of boxes to go bring back home. The buns here are affordable and to be honest quite inexpensive for what I normally pay.

Yum yum yuuummmm! Love the variety of desserts and the staff are very friendly. I got three buns and have tried 2 of the 3. My favorite so far is the coconut bun. Soft and slightly sweet. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area.

Visiting the area my family stopped in this bakery and enjoyed the freshest baked goods at 3PM. In my hometown the best is picked over at that hour. Not so at Mayflower! We had their Almond Butter and Cream Buns which were lip smacking good. The coffee was hot and rich and was the perfect "goes with" !

I got an egg tart and a milk bun which I had never had before and was pleasantly surprised. The prices are super fair at $2 a piece but they only take cash or Venmo. They have a bug selection of Chinese pastries and also serve bubble teas. There isn’t a lot of seating so definitely plan to grab and go.

I wish there is a place like this near me. I love the vibe here, the taste of food, reasonable prices, friendly people…I ordered congee, coffee, and egg tart and some other pastries. The sweetness of the pastries is perfect to me. Not too sweet.

Nice bakery shop with many options. The vibe is like old bakery shop though
P P — Google review
Their pastries were pretty decent overall so I trusted their cakes would be on par. However I was highly disappointed when I preordered a Fresh Mango Birthday Cake. Their so called "fresh" mangoes used were neither fresh nor ripe — they were sour and fibrous which made the cake unpleasant to eat. The frosting also had a strange mouthfeel. It was clumpy and had a almost waxy-like texture instead of a light, creamy frosting you'd normally expect from a Chinese bakery. I would not recommend their birthday cakes.
Will — Google review
Not sure why this is rated so highly, the savory pork buns were too sweet and the cream buns tasteless, also the coffee with boba tasted too artificial like coffee powder mixed with powered milk and hard stale boba, maybe if I try this place again in the morning instead of after 5 pm before the food have been sitting out all day my experience would have been different

Parc is a charming French bistro that transports you straight to the heart of belle époque Paris, nestled alongside Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia. With its elegant brass rails, silver mirrors, and rich claret banquettes, the ambiance is both inviting and nostalgic. The menu features classic dishes like roasted chicken and trout amandine but truly shines with delightful desserts and fresh-baked goods such as house-made macaroons.
Parc is such an amazing spot and has become my to-go spot with great savory plates as well as good portions. The waiters and servers are so nice & are on hand each time we go. We love winding down here viewing different people & pets pass by. It’s located at such a perfect location where you could go on a stroll, walk through the park, get dessert or go shopping afterwards! Def recommend if you’re in the city. It is a very pet-friendly restaurant as well. I would say breakfast/ brunch is the best time to go!

We wanted to try lunch. We ordered cheese omlette and mozarella sandwich. As dessert of course crème brule. The bread basket was really yummy. Very crowded we waited some time to get seated. We didn’t get super big meals but ending paying over $50 excluding tip. So pricey. Another things you should know before you go. The parking is really difficult. Maybe better to take uber or bus.

Amazing restaurant. All the food was incredible. I had always wanted to try a croque monsieur, and it did not disappoint. Bread and appetizers were high quality and delicious. The cranberry nut bread was my favorite. Very moist and flavorful. My wife is a connoisseur of fine French Onion soup, and she exclaimed that this was the best she'd ever had. The quiche Lorraine was delightful, fluffy and crusty, very light. Portion size is perfect - you won't leave hungry but you won't need a cart to haul leftovers. Its just right. Desserts are to die for. This is the best creme brulee I've ever had, and the chocolate mousse is the perfect flavor, sweetness and a magical consistency you cant make at home. Service was perfect at well. Our server Samantha is delightful, quick with a knowledgeable recommendation and great conversation. The manager Sawyer visited our table and was clearly invested in the quality of food and performance of his staff. 10/10 highest recommendation. Will be back soon!

We enjoyed our food and drinks very much! Solid restaurant that is always busy in Philadelphia. Make sure to make reservations. I have been here for brunch, lunch, dinner, and just late night snacks. Service has always been good. Their bread basket is amazing. You can buy bread to-go at the counter by the (small) bar. Our friends from out of town are always pleased here as well. My favorite is brunch here. But I am glad to take any meal at Parc!!!

I’ve tried this place at a few pop up locations but glad I finally got to their brick and mortar spot. Tried a few hand pies with our favorites being the strawberry rhubarb which had such a rich, natural strawberry flavor. And the potato / onion pie that blew us away with the flavor. You can tell how much attention they put on their dough; perfect texture and bake on everything they have. Must stop to try.

Really great food and nice employees! I love the sausage rolls and the strawberry rhubarb pie was awesome . They also give complimentary black tea if you ask for it when dining in.

The most authentic English food I have had in the USA! The fish and chips are the closest thing to the real thing. You get actual chips, not French fries, and the whole fish fried. You even get mushy peas. Awesome food. The full English breakfast is equally good with everything you would expect, including bacon, sausage, eggs, toast, fried 6 baked beans! They have a nice selection of frozen and ready to buy food and prepackaged goods like Cadbury chocolate and crisps. If you want some English food or goods, it is definitely worth the visit. Note they only do the fish and chips on Friday and the English breakfast on Saturday.

Ventured into Stargazy on a rainy Saturday afternoon for a cozy takeout experience. Opting not to dine in due to the quaint size of the space, we were nonetheless charmed by its inviting ambiance and the unique selection of pantry items available for purchase. Our order included a hearty Shepherd’s Pie, a flavorsome Cheese and Onion Pasty, a rich Lamb Lancashire Hotpot, and a savory Beef & Onion Pie accompanied by Mash & Parsley Liquor. Each dish was a testament to traditional flavors, with the pastries particularly standing out - a true highlight for anyone with a penchant for baked delights. Despite the limited space, Stargazy offers a heartwarming glimpse into classic cuisine, making every bite worth the visit. Perfect for those seeking authentic, delicious meals on the go. Highly recommend for a taste of comfort, especially on a chilly day!

Very small space with well priced and delicious sandwiches and baked goods. I went with a friend for breakfast and we both got (turkey) bacon, egg, and cheese on croissant and loved them. It got pretty crowded with people coming in to pick-up and we were lucky to get seats to sit and eat. Would not recommend counting on dining in but would be perfect to pick something up to eat in Rittenhouse in nice weather.

Really good pastry/ snack spot! I tried the soft serve, lemon bar, a cream puff pastry and also tried a panini. Everything was good. I went right before they were about to close, so unfortunately they were out of some of the items I wanted. The sandwich was mushroom with broccoli rabe and peppers; very fresh and tasty. Stop by to gather your late night snacks or breakfast items. Super friendly staff!

Cool vibe, understated place, really nice people, and an AWESOME pork sandwich. I got the Philly with the rapini pesto, shaved sharp provolone, Porchetta, and cracklins, and a mocha latte. The latte was very good. Lots of good mocha flavor in there and quality coffee. Didn't eat the sandwich for about an hour and a half when I finally got home so it could have been even better...which is impressive since it was so good even after sitting waiting for me to dig in. TONS of flavor. Really good porchetta, great pesto, nice sharp provolone, and the homemade cracklins put it over the top! The homemade Ciabatta held up well and was hearty enough to be a conduit for the Porchetta without getting soggy or falling apart, but remained soft and chewy. Good choice of roll for this sandwich. One of the top sandwiches I have had in my city of brotherly love. Worth every penny and will be back for 100% sure! This place deserves to be up there on the pedestal with the classic greats in the city.

Had the Sausage & Biscuit Wit for breakfast today and was really impressed. The biscuit was super flaky but stood up well to the seriously stacked sandwich. They ran out of bread. A sandwich place that ran out of bread. I had to get a panini instead which was good, but not what I wanted. Thry ran out of panini bread as well minutes later. Owners hurt themselves and lost a lot of business by running out of bread before 2 pm. They knew 4 days ahead of time that the city would be packed for the Philadelphia Eagles Parade and celebration. I would go back if in the area.

This place is absolutely insane. Grabbed half the menu with some friends and it was some of the best food I’ve ever gotten. Insanely good sandwich, good coffee and great little tray of mini desserts. Can’t recall the flavors on them but each one was a nice little sampler and very good. My only minuscule gripe was that I got tomato on my sandwich and got an end cut. Structural rigidity of the sandwich was comprised. But with a little engineering and some grit I made it work. A tiny detail but still a great sandwich nonetheless

I got a simple sesame bagel with honey walnut schmear, expecting it to be anti-climactic and was super surprised when it was incredibly delicious. Went back the next day and tried one of their open face sandwiches, it was great! Truly no complaints here, think it’s a decent bagel shop.

Slice & Schmear is a quaint bagel shop in South Philly! I stopped in after seeing some positive reviews online. I got the cragel on a sesame bagel with light scallion schmear. They were very generous with the toppings, which I appreciated especially for only $11. It was a HUGE bagel! I did find the bagel itself to be a bit on the harder side, I would’ve liked it to be a touch softer. The flavor also could’ve been elevated a bit more, but that might have to do with the fact that I got light schmear and not regular. The value for portion was definitely there. I’m not sure I would come back but overall it was good.
Ariana L — Google review
The bagel was solid but the everything bagel was severely overpowered by the seeds and bottom part that I could barely taste the lox or cream cheese. I realized later I think they just burnt the garlic. Very bitter taste. Best if they were to back off the seeds a bit. Texture was just ok.

This morning I woke up craving a good bagel and thought of Slice and Schmear because I had them in the past and felt they were most similar to a NY Jewish bagel. We ordered online and picked up. The order was ready when we were there for pick up. I was super excited to bite in as the cucumbers and onions looked fresh. To my disappointment when I had my first bite it was like biting in to a rock. Not only was it hard from being toasted but because it was burnt the flavor of the everything bagel was gone and ruined the entire sandwich. One thing I will never understand is why people ruin a bagel by toasting it unless of course it’s old or stale. At the very least an option should be given if you want your bagel toasted.

Order online! Got a very mid BEC, the egg itself was sooo dry and disgusting it made me nauseous to eat. Plenty of cheese and the bacon was good. I wish they put the everything seasoning on the bottom of the bagel as well. The side bagel I ordered was small and dense, but the bagel that came on the vegetable sandwhich I ordered was big and fluffy - don’t love the inconsistency! The strawberry cream cheese is very tasty and sweet. Coffee is decent. Wish there was a button to add hot sauce or a hash brown to the BEC.

What I’m about to say is very important about this establishment. 3 years ago I came to korshak bagel (what this place used to be) amidst the hype and I wasn’t as astonished for multiple reasons which I won’t mention, it was very good but not the best despite other view points. I removed my review to make a new one here. This place is extremely good if not better than the previous management. The ingredients are more fresh and the bagels have a much better outer texture. It’s a shame people follow hype and I don’t see lines outside this shop the way the previous one did. But overall this spot is now just going be lowkey and at least it’s good there are no lines so we can be in and out, sometimes the previous hype made the previous owners over burn the bagels. That’s not a problem here. Great work
Y S — Google review
When the bagels aren't sleeping they're filling the neighborhood with their aromatic bagel smells. I was there when they woke up. The line wasn't bad and the service was nice. The bagels are off a sourdough texture; hard outside with a chewy inside. I'll always suggest a half and half. The bagel varieties are massive and each flavor can be distinguished with every bite. Highly recommend
Phradoe B — Google review
Opened during the pandemic and already a neighborhood favorite, Korshak Bagels is worth a visit to South Philly. Open Wednesday through Sunday mornings, they sell a handful of bagels that can't be boxed in. They aren't New York City style or Montreal style. They stand on their own. After going for breakfast with a friend on a Friday morning right when they opened at 8 a.m., here's my experience: 1) Bagels: There are fourteen different kinds from standard to more fancy. I ordered the sesame bagel and my friend ordered the everything. The seasoning on both were on BOTH sides of the bagel, adding more flavor. They have a number of schmears, but the blueberry compote went well with the sesame bagel. 2) Service: It's clear the staff are proud of their product, space and community. You order your food and then wait outside for a staff member to hand it to you through the takeout window. If you love bagels, run to Korshak Bagels. It's so good!

Pastry shop
Tartes is a charming shop that offers a variety of personal-size tarts in an array of flavors, catering to different tastes. From the decadent chocolate cre brulee tarte with vanilla bean custard and chocolate espresso ganache glaze to the fruity delights of pear-raspberry almond and blueberry lemon tarts, there's something for everyone.
I am Blown away by how exceptional all the items are. My favorite is the chocolate crème brûlée but I also love the pecan pie tart. I had the chocolate chip pecan cookie the most recent time and this cookie is so fresh, soft, full of chocolate chips and pecans. Wow. Look no further for your new favorite pastry shop as this will be your new favorite too!!

I wish I had a photo to show just how incredible these desserts were, but my family devoured them before I could even get a pic! They were THAT AMAZING haha! The pear pistachio tarte was so fresh and unique, we loved the key lime, maple pecan, chocolate crème brûlée tartes and the canneles were delicious too! Can’t recommend Tarte enough!!
Sam M — Google review
It was a hidden gem! While exploring Philly, we found these delicious treats! 10/10! We loved it our number one was the lemon tart!
Maryanna F — Google review
Tartes is a cute pastry stand in Old City! I got the key lime pie and fudge brownie. Both were good, but not exceptional. The brownie felt more like a straight fudge bar with icing. I love fudge brownies, but it needs to have a good balance of a cake-like texture still. The key lime pie was tasty, I prefer the key lime pie at Middle Child though! I don’t think I would come back.
Ariana L — Google review
Sad I didn’t visit this place sooner! The tartes are so good. Crust is buttery and flakey. Perfectly sweet. I got the key lime one and the pistachio apple one. Both were delicious! Will be returning soon :)
Shanae N — Google review
I went up to the window and told the woman that my girlfriend loved this place, it was her birthday, I had no clue what to get, and asked if they did any kind of assortment packages, she said yes and proceeded to put together a very nice assortment of tartes and cakes in a nice box. My girlfriend LOVED it. It wasn't very expensive AND I found parking right across the street! (which is unheard of mid day on a Fri in Olde City) So, they get a 10/10 from me.
Scott B — Google review
Our friends recommended this spot for desserts and tarts, and it truly did not disappoint. Everything looked so inviting, and we loved that they offered a wide selection in smaller sizes, which made it easy to try different varieties without feeling overwhelmed. Among the options we sampled, the chocolate tart stood out as our absolute favorite—rich, indulgent, and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet. The texture was smooth and decadent, exactly what you’d hope for in a high-quality dessert. We also appreciated the variety of flavors available, each beautifully presented and thoughtfully crafted. It’s the kind of place where you can mix and match to create your own tasting experience, whether you want something fruity, nutty, or classic chocolate. Overall, this is a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth. The quality, presentation, and option to try multiple flavors in smaller portions make it a gem we’ll definitely return to.

Incredible tarts at this place! Super highly recommend it. We bought several, while I had the almost blackberry one. Absolutely delicious. Must stop by if you are in the area. Owner and wait staff are super friendly and provide great service. Highly recommended!

Bakery
Lost Bread Co. is a bakery located in the Phillys South Kensington neighborhood of London. The bakery specializes in hearth breads, buns, and focaccia made with whole grains that are locally grown. They also make a salty-sweet snack called pretzel shortbread and a traditional kouign amann using buckwheat.
I am so happy to have found Lost Bread bakery. They primarily sell at farmers markets, but their production bakery in Old Kensington is open to the public on weekend mornings. Their pastries are unusually delicious and not very sweet, which highlights the flour that they mill themselves. I basically bought one of everything and when I told them that I liked my coffee to taste like coffee ice cream, they brought me the perfect cup to dunk my hazelnut biscotti.
Meribeth — Google review
I have been buying sourdough from them for months now. Here’s what I like about lost bread: 1. Clean ingredients and naturally leavened (this is the biggest reason why I buy from them) ; 2. Their whole wheat croissant is soooo goood (I’ve never tried a croissant with the same texture as theirs) The store location only opens two days a week so that’s a bit inconvenient. Other than that, I’ve had good experiences buying breads from them so far.
Susan H — Google review
Trying Rye Sourdough for the first time, the ingredient list is clean, which is what I want. Found it at union square, the ladies were very welcoming.
Louise ( — Google review
Just had my third not-great experience with Lost Bread at the Clark Park Farmers Market. I bought two canelés, two baguettes, and a multigrain loaf. The canelés were completely inedible, burnt on the outside and dry inside. The multigrain loaf was overproofed and gummy, and the baguettes are TBD since I froze them out of frustration. The person working the table was also rude when I asked for a simple bread recommendation. Market Day Canelés is my recommendation for canelés, and Dead King Bread has been much more consistent overall.

I love stopping by the Lost Bread Co stand at the Greenmarket in USQ. Their brand is really interesting to me- they have unique flavors /combos I’ve never seen before. I also love their ethos and focus on sustainability. Really nice owner who I’ve met a few times, too. It’s awesome to see a small business like Lost Bread grow! 🧡

The Pretzel Shortbread is the perfect snack for everyone who loves pretzels! They are soft, crunchy, sweet, and salty. Perfect pair for ice cream!
Thomas H — Google review
Recently at the Union Square Greenmarket in NYC, purchased a few of the baked goods including the Sourdough Focaccia bread and the Sourdough Rye Seeded Raisin bread, and they were both delicious, and natural, organic, local, where Lost Bread mills the whole grains themselves, and using almost all whole grains. The Focaccia had a very flavorful local oil alternative to evoo and tender whole garlic cloves mixed in, and herbs, while the raisin rye had a very dense yet moist interior with many raisins. Among the few bakeries I've seen that have whole grain, including dark rye cookies, and whole wheat croissants. One of my favorite bakeries, and wish I knew about them sooner. - Update: 1/20/2023: I tried their whole grain apple muffin and their whole grain caramelized onion scone at the NYC Union Square greenmarket today, and both were flavorful without too much sugar, and I posted pictures below. - 1/25/2023: Tried the potato pesto handpie at the nyc union square Wednesday greenmarket, pictured below, made without yeast, and with whole grain spelt, sea salt, and butter. The small hand pie had a surprisingly tender flaky crust for a whole grain and had a tasty, savory flavor and texture instead of typical overly sweet hand pies. - 3/24/2023, Friday: Among my favorite baked goods is the (whole grain) spelt chocolate chip cookie, pictured below, made with natural ingredients. - 4/21/2023, bread crumb cake, a great snack packed for after a concert.

Came back today for the first time since Lost Bread Co.'s reopening of the Fishtown location, and everything is even better than I remember. We specifically love the Seedy Sourdough and the Pretzel Shortbreads, but very excited that this location is back open so we can try even more of their delicious and wholesome products!

Kouklet Brazilian Bakehouse is a delightful gem that brings the flavors of Brazil to your palate. Founded by Baker Mardhory Cepeda in 2012, Kouklet started its journey in Brazil with the famous bolo de rolo and has since expanded to New York and now Philadelphia.
Peak donut experience! Since discovering these delicious sourdough cream clouds, American donuts have been absolutely ruined for me. Everything else I've tried is delightful as well — do yourself a favor and stop in.

Amazing bakery on Passyunk that you have to try! I really loved the cake roll, it’s absolutely delicious. The sourdough doughnuts are a nice change of pace from standard American fare, and they come in a variety of flavors. I got the standard vanilla creme which was good. They also sell some small butter cookies with guava jam in little sealed bags, which were exceptional! Definitely coming back soon.
Connor X — Google review
Fantastic Brazilian bakery with a wide variety of different items, both savory and sweet. Everything I tried was delicious. Baked well with flavors that you can tell were really fresh and thought out. The sugar donut was out of this world. Will definitely be back to try more.

What a charming little bakery with an incredible selection of treats! We stumbled upon Koulet while taking a stroll after brunch and couldn’t resist stepping in for some dessert. We tried the chocolate and carrot cake, custard-filled pastries, and a passion fruit dessert — everything was absolutely delightful. The best part? Nothing was overly sweet; each item had just the right balance of flavor and sweetness. We also grabbed a coffee and a latte for the road, both of which were great. We’re already looking forward to coming back for more! IG: journey_man16

I liked this bakery. It was nice to try something different. Loved the guava donut! There was a passion fruit cake thing that was also delicious. The savory goods also delivered. I'd go back.
Loco J — Google review
Great assortment of both sweet and savory pastries and baked goods. The “Pão de queijo” were amazing, a cheesy bread made with tapioca flour. They had a traditional option and one with spices that I had to go back and get a second serving. The cake rolls were also great, we had the double chocolate and lime which were great as well.
