Absolutely packed on a Friday Afternoon at 3pm! Monk’s delivers an authentic Belgian experience complete with original cold draft brews w mussels. The pub atmosphere is for real (especially in the BACK BAR!) and the bartenders are quite friendly. We did find the background music to be “not our preference” but you can’t go wrong with Belgian brews 🍻 that taste like something right out of the cellar of a Trappist Monk 🙏

We had a friend recommend this place and we’re glad they did! Love the atmosphere, as it’s down to earth, but very warm and inviting. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the food was really solid and the beer selection was crazy good. If you’re nearby and haven’t been to Monk’s, get there soon. You’ll be glad you did!

A really cool little Belgian beer bar - it reminds me very much of Belgium! Inside is all wood, the floors are creaky, and it’s bustling and noisy. The food is quite good and we were very happy with everything we got - the duck salad in particular is excellent! We have seen them win awards online for their duck salad and burger.

Tried good beer for the first time (I don't drink it often). We must've been so ravenous because everything tasted 30/10. The beers are worth every penny. Service was amazing. Will come back soon. We downed the salad within seconds. The thai curry mussels tasted ADDICTING that I was dipping my pomme frites in the sauce. Can't wait to come back!

The unofficial Belgian embassy in Philly, and I feel totally at home here. Easy to get to from downtown. Great atmosphere, warm and welcoming, with a lot of Belgian beer memorabilia. The tap list is always incredible, from locals to classics from le plat pays. Didn't try the food, but it did look good.

Food is so delicious. Mussels are usually my go too. Beer list is always great and always rotating. Always have my favorite Russian River brews. Completely chill place to enjoy with no distracting televisions.

Best beer bottle selection in America! Feels like classic Belgium style old-school saison brewery. Has A LOT of cantillion. Prices are competitive to store bought at a stylish homey spot. Owners all work here and crew is actually a group of beer enthusiasts. Food is great. Fries fried in duck fat only $6. 5 different styles of mussels to choose from and 5 different burgers. But indulge and get the cheese plate could literally be a whole meal right there! Lots of well behaved kiddos sitting with families so seems like a spot anyone can enjoy. First time I’ve left a review for any bar. This is definitely worth going to. 1) The Atmosphere: The owner has clearly spent a lot of time cultivating and curating a particular aesthetic, one of high class and privacy. I’ve been to almost every bar in Philadelphia, and most of the time, it unfortunately feels like most other guests are more interested in taking photos of themselves and the establishment. This is not the case here, and it’s a breath of fresh air. This is the only place in Philadelphia where it genuinely feels authentic, intimate, and most importantly, private. 2) The Drinks There is practically a dictionary of unique drink options. I brought two friends and all three of us, with significantly different tastes, found something we liked. 3) The Door When we came there was a line that wasn’t too long. When you get to the front the owner will explain the rules to you very clearly, which are all quite reasonable. I honestly don’t understand other reviews where people complain, I guarantee if you’re at least semi-competent you’ll be able to follow the rules here. It helps if you’re also privacy conscious like me - the no photography rule is an idea I wish other bars copied. For anyone who is privacy-conscious and wants a unique experience, this is definitely the place to go.

My boyfriend and I went to Hop Sing laundromat after we ate dinner in the city. We were celebrating our 10 year anniversary. I had been ranting and raving about this place since my best friend and I went there on our girls night out. My boyfriend was excited to go. Le is an amazing host and owner. He demands excellence but you get excellence back. He has two rules and a dress code, which is not hard to follow. I appreciate how Le used our names, too. Hop Sing is a place you get to live in the present and experience cocktails you have never had before. It was refreshing to be able to put our phones down and have conversations while enjoying the ambience of this incredible place. The mood lighting also helped set the tone of the place. Our waitress was attentive and did not over crowd us. She also let us take our time to enjoy our evening. I’m hoping next time I can try the cocktail omakase if still available. I cannot wait for our next trip to the city to experience this hidden gem.

Perfect evening! There are strict rules that are reasonable and clearly communicated. Lovely atmosphere, came here with my parents who have been many times before. We all tried each others drinks and every cocktail was perfect. Its fun, unique, and the service was incredibly attentive without being intrusive. Can't wait to come back.

What a wild experience! I’ve been traveling almost non stop for the past 10 years and never experienced something like this at a bar. I’ll be posting the entire video and interaction on my ig- justinboar. I normally use it to document my trips highlighting places like this in a positive way. Unfortunately not this time. But the world needs to know how dangerous the owner of this place is. Hopefully he educates himself about customer etiquette and try not to chase them with a baseball bat for no reason😂😂. This is what happened… I rang the doorbell once, it felt really weird and didnt move at all when I pressed it, felt like it wasn’t working. so I waited a few minutes and thought maybe its an intercom because of the strange look and feel of it. so I pressed it again. Soon after that the owner came storming out as if we were kicking on the door with a battering ram. He had a strong Korean accent and was so angry that I thought he was joking. He then gave me some weird lecture about doorbells 😂. I remained calm and polite the entire time thinking maybe he was just having a bad day. Turns out the grumpy old man is like this all the time (look at similar reviews below). Anyways, Before he even let me speak, he made up an excuse like they are having a private party and turned around to leave. But not before insulting my mother 😂😂. After he said “your mom” to me, which I thought was hilarious, I responded with “your mom” right back and stopped recording because clearly he was not going to let us in. As we started to leave down the street, he ran out with a baseball bat and started sprinting at us. I’m not a violent man but I was a paratrooper and spent some years on the front lines of Afghanistan and recently in Ukraine and will absolutely not be intimidated by grumpy man with a bat. When he realized this he insulted me like 10 times at rapid pace 😂 which was kinda funny and then ran back to his little cage. We laughed it off and continued on our way Anyways, morale of the story is…Be careful of this place, i’m sure some people have had good experiences, but its a gamble if you have to encounter this man. You can see the other reviews for the people that had the unfortunate experience pf meeting him. He might try to ruin your evening for no good reasonable reason. We filed a police report and will update as it goes with this situation Edit: responding to the owners silly response. He is making up weird things to discredit my review. 1. He said I have a Eastern European accent. I’m born and raised in Hawaii 😂 2. Why would I ever wear a wife beater, especially on a cold November evening? 3. There was no couple behind us. You can see that in the full video. So obviously the owner lies to try and protect his terrible service. What kind of person/owner acts like this? Once again the owner proves to be an absolute weirdo. Good news is that I dont live far from this place. It will be fun for me and all of my “bought followers” 😂 to have the pleasure of ringing the door bell every time we walk by…Just to make sure the old grumpy man didn’t fall asleep. My partner took me here for late night cocktails after a date night in the city, and I can't get over how incredible this spot was. Mr. Le, the owner, is very nice and funny, and the staff are all very attentive and kind. It was great to not have the distraction of a phone when I'm out with my partner, and we ended up spending about 2 hours here just talking with each other; which is kind of exactly what you want from a "date night". The intimate environment that Mr. Le has curated in this speakeasy type cocktail bar is one that you just have to experience for yourself. There are two rules: no phone usage, and no photography of any kind anywhere on the premises. As long as you dress nicely, don't act like an asshole, and don't break the rules, you'll have a great time :)

Hop Sing was one of the most phenomenal bars I’ve been to in the city, especially given my visit for an anniversary. Mr. Lê was exceptionally welcoming on a quiet Thursday night, and as first timers, I couldn’t be more impressed. The establishment has a very intimate vibe, and the rules Mr. Lê sets are very reasonable; no photos, cash only, and respect the environment and people in it. We got to enjoy 6 of the many cocktails on the menu, and each one was stellar in their own right, including some liquors and items not often found in most bars. Our bartender was spectacular, and took the extra time to ensure drinks were allergy safe for us; this gesture was much appreciated and it is not often seen at other establishments. Mr. Lê himself even came by a few times to chat with us and discuss our drinks and the philosophy behind his bar. I would also like to add that the friendliness of the staff and owner, as well as them addressing us by last name, was a point of service that I greatly appreciated. I cannot wait to return for another visit and one day try all the cocktails on the menu. Thanks to Mr. Lê, our bartender, and the rest of the staff- you made this night special.

We came with good vibes, genuinely curious to discover this place. It was a Saturday night, and the door was closed. My friend rang the bell once and waited. The mechanism didn’t seem to press down, so we couldn’t tell if it had actually rung. After waiting a bit, we rang a second time. The door opened to a man who immediately started yelling and insulting us for ringing twice. It was, by far, the worst speakeasy experience I’ve ever had. His reaction was so over the top that we honestly thought it was a bad joke at first. But no, he was serious and he didn’t even let us in. I’ve never seen such unprofessional behavior. This man clearly shouldn’t be working in hospitality. It’s absolutely shameful to treat people like that. We came with nothing but good energy, stayed calm, and even apologized. It didn’t matter. Truly disgraceful. EDIT: just added the video of our interaction with this weird guy.

We had a nice time at McGillins. The staff was friendly and didn’t have any issues. We popped in on a Sunday afternoon for drinks. My wife got a cocktail she really enjoyed. I did the beer sampler. The value was great I think $11 or so for the sampler with you get to choose a few of those. I’m not a huge beer guy in general and didn’t love any of the beers but enjoyed the experience. Think they could’ve been a little colder. We did get a koozie for our collection and the vibes were great inside. Definitely worth checking out.

Great relaxed environment. Feels like a local neighborhood bar on the middle of the city. Best happy hour and great value as an event space for retirement or birthday parties etc. Service is great. Staff is friendly and fun. Drinks well made with tasty food. The price is also right! Very good compared to the other city bars & restaurants.

It feels like this place is kind of tucked away in the city and it's satisfying when you first see it. Solid stop and won't break the bank. Get the "original sandwitch special, "which consists of your choice of turkey, roast beef, or corned beef on rye bread with coleslaw and Russian dressing. Recommended.

McGillins is a Philadelphia institution for a reason! Fun and nostalgic atmosphere, great beer selection, and reasonable prices. Sandwiches, snacks and platters are consistently good, and very affordable. A great lunch option if you work in Center city!You should definitely visit for the experience!

The atmosphere is what drew us to standard tap. The outside looks like a cute German pub and and inside is wooden tavern with warm lighting. The staff was pretty friendly and when we asked for a single drink between the two of us, they gave us two smaller glasses and split it which was nice. The beer itself was good. Nothing amazing but also pretty solid. The hazy was fresh and had a decent amount of haze. Overall a pretty good spot

I loved the atmosphere immediately. Great vibe but we were obviously earlier than the crowd and weren't greeted properly. Just wandered around and found a waitress. There is an upstairs bar too. The food was trying hard to be more upscale but failed in execution for a number of reasons. First every ingredient doesn't necessarily have to be listed on the menu, but tree nuts should not be a surprise. My wife got the beet salad and it had Macadamia nuts in it. Also it was lacking the one thing I want in a Beet salad, beets! My niece got the burger and she liked it, said the cheese was tasty. I don't think the pretzel bun was very pretzel. I just had a small plate because honestly nothing on the menu appealed to me. It was a very thin slice of ham with brie and peaches. It could have been good but the peaches were tasteless and the ham pretty much non existent. I heard the drinks were okay. I don't know. Seemed like a great neighborhood bar to hang with friends but wouldn't make a special trip or anything. I did get an appetizer that was okay. Potato balls fried. A bit pricey for what it is.

Found a parking space, got out saw the building and went over. I've been visiting Philadelphia for a while and never made it here. I didn't know what I was missing the food was great. The server was delightful and nice to talk to. We had a nice evening and it was comfortable to be on the covereddeck at 8:30ish pm till we left.

Was my first time coming for food and I would say if I went back it would only be for drinks. We got the tofu sandwich, fish sandwich, burger, grilled oysters, and crab dip. The crab dip was good. The oysters looked and tasted disappointing. The sandwiches were all a miss, no seasoning, needed salt, the sauces all just tasted like mayo, even the gochujang mayo had no flavor/spice. I also don’t get how you mess up a burger. The fries were super salty which was in this case welcomed with the unseasoned food. The side salad was randomly the best thing we had. It was so good with a mix of different veggies and a nice dressing. The service was fine one bartender/server was dismissive and seemed a little rude the other who was mainly helping us was nice enough. We would’ve said something about how disappointed we were with our food if we felt they cared. I know this spot is an institution and I’m glad everyone in the neighborhood loves it but won’t be back for food anytime soon.

Cool place to go. Came out about 8:30 pm cool calm atmosphere. People are having a good time however quiet enough to have a normal conversation. This place has one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Their fries are equally good. Next time I'm in the area I will definitely stop by. Bartenders were friendly and poured well balanced drinks that taste good and have enough alcohol to make you happy. I can't reccomend this place enough

The space itself is very cool, with multiple levels and rooftop seating. The cocktails were the star of the show honestly. While I enjoyed my roast pork sandwich, it was so messy that I ended up cutting it into pieces to eat it.

Truly incredible dining! The service is great and while it’s definitely fine dining, there’s an air of casualness that makes you feel comfortable. The food was out of this world. The flavors mix so well and the order in which they come out just works!! We love the duck dish and the strawberry tarte.

Every dish is excellent. The best tasting menu I had in Philly so far— not like the others that are swimming in the deadly butter. The rice dish is so good that it is comparable to the best Michelin Gohans in Japan.

Had an amazing meal here with my Girlfriend to celebrate her birthday. Each course on the tasting menu was a culinary delight after another. I especially enjoyed the fish course with halibut with sauce and flat bread, the short drip, and the duck. This intimate experience is the perfect spot of a special occasion, and I hope to be able to dine here again soon

I've heard so much about this restaurant along with the James Beard Award. Every couple of months they changes up a couple of things on the menu in accomodations to the season. Every dishes crafted with precision and creativity especially the chef tasting menu. Friday Saturday Sunday is a celebrated restaurant known for its intimate ambiance and exceptional cuisine. Atmosphere The restaurant features two distinct spaces: the upstairs dining room offers a refined setting for the tasting menu, while the downstairs bar area presents a cozy, lounge-like atmosphere with a large fish tank and dim lighting, ideal for a relaxed evening .

I only had one cocktail here - the Dismantling Summer - but it was perfect. The bartender also recommended an amazing dinner and follow up cocktail bar that made my night. So 5 stars for curating a perfect night out in Philly based on a half hour here to start the night. Oh and the place was definitely packed by 5:15pm on a Friday so come early if you don’t have reservations!

Wonderful staff, ambiance, and food. I opted for the prefix menu. Service was phenomenal. My friend and I were able enjoy a lovely meal with minimal interruptions. Perfect for special occasions or just a casual intimate dinner.

Cool bar I stopped in for a drink and a rest. They were already on my list due to their menu. I should've come the previous night for those perogies. Their veggie/vegan menu gets plenty of good reviews and I'm really disappointed I didn't order any food when I was there. I was still hungover and needed a liquid lunch instead. It was early and the few people there were mostly for said food. Service was good and attentive. I liked their golden bar top, and could see the future drunken pictures of me in their go-kart. I didn't get a chance to check out the upstairs area. They also have daily specials which would keep me coming back.

I heard a lot about this place, but thought it was going to be grungy inside. It’s the exact opposite. It’s a really cute and fun inside. I definitely was sleeping on this place. Went here on the late night on a holiday nonetheless and the food and service was on point. They cater to mixed diets which is great since I’m vegan and my friend isn’t. We both ordered the corn dogs as starters. He had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and I had the Beyond Mom’s Vegan Burger. We shared some fries. To drink we both had the Tiki Kitty. I never had a corn dog before and enjoyed it and so did my friend. He really liked his Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. At first he didn’t think it was that spicy, but the spice kicked in and he was like I feel the heat now. I was worried my beyond burger was going to feel like something I eat at home, but they put their own spin on it and it was yummy. The Tiki Kittys were good, but I can’t say I tasted the liquor like that. This is a great option for reasonable food and it’s great they are open late.

We had a couple of the drinks and pierogis. My favorite was the Mom’s Mule, great flavor combo. Great dive bar vibe with very friendly staff. Plenty of vegan food options.

I was craving a vegan cheesesteak on my way home from work today. I googled a search for it and this place was the closest and had excellent reviews on their vegan cheesesteak. It was the absolute worst one I’ve ever had in my life! And I was starving hungry! It was $18 for the cheesesteak and a bottle of Coke. I left a three dollar tip. This was takeout. I don’t know what kind of plant-based meat they used, but it was horrible. Even the roll just wasn’t good. It was like a day old roll. I’m really hugely disappointed for wasting my money. I ended up just picking it apart since there was mostly bread, and tossed half of it. I knew I I should have made that extra 1 mile trip and gone to Monster Vegan! I’m so sorry I didn’t!

I came here late night after performing in a show SO HUNGRY! I wasn't sure if the kitchen was still open so I called while I was on the way. Bobby was on the other end of the phone with such great energy letting me know that the kitchen was closing soon but to come on in and he'll be at he door waiting to take my order! I went and was not disappointed. Bobby was waiting there with such a postivie demeanor. My order was put in immediately so I didn't miss the window. I ordered perogies and vegan cheese waffle fries. While I waited for less than 10 minutes, Bobby kept me company with great conversation and warm hospitality. I can't wait to go back and stay rather than take it to go.

This place is so much fun! I went on a Saturday night with a friend. It was very crowded but we were still able to get seats near the bar. The drinks are so much fun and they also have non-alcoholic beer if you dont drink alcohol. Its hard not to look all over the place because its so decorated with art, stickers, etc. There is a pool table. The bathrooms are non-gender specific and this place is very LGBTQ friendly.

Your venue/ bar was beautiful. I adored the setup and I loved the way you guys make your drinks and had a good time at the concert upstairs. Although, I’m not very pleased to hear how my artist was treated by your staff. I’m utterly disgusted actually. Get your mister micromanager in check. I’d come to the bar again, but definitely not a show again. Way to make him and his fans feel like shit. We’re all underground nerds and to make us feel so unwelcome in a space that’s supposed to be a place where we can finally feel welcome and like we “fit in” is just ridiculous. It’s disgusting. Be more accepting and treat my artists with respect, thanks!!! Definitely not good for a first impression of your bar.

Stopped into Johnny Brenda’s on a recommendation and I’m glad I did. The bar has that classic Philly character, worn in but clean with a comfortable atmosphere. Nik was friendly and quick behind the bar, making it easy to settle in right away. I ordered the smoked buffalo wings with a beer, and they paired perfectly. Music played in the background, just loud enough to set the vibe without drowning out conversation. Whether you’re here for happy hour or just looking for a relaxed spot, this place delivers.

Four star bar but five star service. There are not a lot of food and drink options but the bartenders are very friendly and the vibe is fun. Consider this for a happy hour spot. I would come back to try out their karoake.

Saw David Wax Museum here tonight and we were thrilled at how intimate of a setting it was. Two floors from which to enjoy the bands, and all the views are enjoyable. Philadelphia seems to be replete with fun, decent people. At least it was here. :) We'll be back.

Unplanned visit. Got fish and chips. Very good. Crisp batter, hefty fish portion. Chonky chips that weren't completely mushy like wedges. Saved to my list of places to grab a fish and chips in Philly. Drinks and atmosphere were okay; usual rowdy Fishtown bar on a weekend night. Decor and theme was cool. Definitely open to coming back again with friends.

We were in town for a trade show at The Fillmore needed a place to relax after Great bartender, staff (shoutout to Mitch!) pool table and music. If you’re looking for a day cocktail this is the only joint worth visiting in the area IMO. Great menu. Clean restrooms. Will definitely be back

After a couple of really uncomfortable creepy experiences with bars, bar bouncers, and staff, my girls and I left the local Temple College bar scene and found Johnny Brenda's! Way better than the spots near to Temple, better food, awesome people, no overly pervy and creepy bouncers trying to hit on me or grope me! I'm not saying JBs will be our regular spot, not saying it won't be either!

i love this place! this is my neighborhood spot--truly has some of the best bartenders in the city and a diverse clientele. i've had many, many interesting conversations here with both staff and patrons and have also met many new friends. and they serve their citywide ($5) (which they invented btw) with a PBR ($3 a can), which is the superior choice. i'm a single woman and usually go to this bar alone. whenever i've had problems with men here (happens from time to time, not the bar's fault), the bartenders have ALWAYS had my back (shout out to my girl, Kelly!!) both of the doormen do an excellent job of keeping things safe and in control inside the bar too. the food from their restaurant next door is exactly what you need after a night of drinking, and the events B&B holds are the shit. they have the best karaoke night in the city, and the drag night is absolutely worth checking out. the live music and dj's also never disappoint. and during football season, they have the games on (go birds!) it's a classic dive bar, maybe one of THE dives in the city. a MUST visit for any dedicated PBR-head. 10/10. oh! and also the bathrooms are clean!!!! what more could you want?? ps. it's cash only but there is an atm inside

A truly special and magical place that still exists. I hope it lasts forever. One of the beacons that keeps Philly unique. Looks like more tavern from the outside. Has these awesome musical notes bike locks. Live music. Incredible beer and shot specials. Crazy cool interior. Awesome bartenders and patrons. Protect this place at all costs.

Awesome spot. The jazz band was great, and service was fast and friendly. $3 PBRs hit the spot. Cash only, but they have an ATM inside.

So much fun. A real good atmosphere and size. Seating at the bar or at tables. The times I've gone there's been live music, which has been awesome. I also see a DJ Booth set up. Good drinks. Good vibes.

Cool old school vibe, cheap drinks, great service and amazing music. A jazz band was playing when I went and the were fantastic. A PBR and a shot for $5. A great value that’s hard to beat. If live music and affordable drinks are your thing it’s definitely worth a trip.

Great bar devoted to Pabst blue ribbon 🎀.an excellent bar with good service,great vibe , and a great band. My buddy JoJo and I drank some citywide specials and jammed to Cyber funk. A versatile band who really killed it with some Bill withers jams

Frankford Hall, located in the heart of Fishtown, Philadelphia, is a modern take on a German beer garden with a hip, industrial feel. It seems to be a popular spot for both locals and visitors thanks to its open-air layout, communal seating, and casual vibe. With ping-pong tables, fire pits, and long wooden tables, it has a lively but relaxed energy — especially in spring and summer when the outdoor area is fully in use. Frankford Hall is surprisingly kid-friendly during the day and makes a good casual outing for families, especially if you’re looking to introduce kids to a lively, cultural setting without it feeling too formal. Just avoid late-night hours and keep expectations flexible. This place is more “family-welcoming” than “family-focused.”

Tons of space, very friendly, and most importantly: delicious! Came here for a date night and had never been before. The hall itself is a spacious and open, with a wide variety of games to play and seating options. You order your food from the window in the back right, and the staff that welcomed us were really friendly and helpful. Prices are a bit elevated, but it’s Fishtown in Philly. You also get what you pay for! Our food was delicious—I got the burger and my partner got the schnitzel. Both were served hot and very quickly, and tasted extremely fresh. The fries were very good as well, and the Bavarian pretzel we shared was so tasty with a nice cheese sauce on the side. Overall, I had a wonderful time here! Will definitely be visiting again!

Wife and went here for the first time and so impressed. We sat at the back tables. After a few minutes we realized we were outside..with trees and lights could hardly see the sky..anyway fun night and good food, good beer.

The atmosphere alone is what gets this it's rating. The sunny courtyard with large trees, brick architecture, and plenty of large oak tables makes this amazing on a sunny day. They even have vendors on the outskirts of the courtyard on some weekdays. Inside has nice tables with good warm lighting and a ping pong table. That being said, the beer is decent and the canned beer is pretty pricy (upwards of $15 or so). I know that must be a philly thing but I'm still not use to canned alcohol being so expensive. They can come in a stien which is good but not a big deal for the size. They also have beer cocktails which not many breweries can say and even though I didnt have the coctail I tried the beer it goes with and can tell it would be a good choice. The staff was friendly and helped with recommendations and samples. We are more hazy people and there weren't any even with their big list but I think that is just not their style. They have tones of janga games but no other boardgames which was a little disappointing but not a big deal either. Overall a great place to go with big groups esspecially in good westher.

A classic staple of Fishtown. Can't go wrong coming here with some friends on a Friday or Saturday (or any day really). Huge beer selection, decent food options (go for the pretzel), and a lot of games like Jenga to enjoy with your friends. I appreciate that they have heaters out in their beer garden during colder weather. Finding a table to sit wit friends can be tough at times depending on what time and day you go, but its totally worth it.

Food is mid. Wurst Sampler had some decent sausages, but they were all mostly dry. Sides were ok, the potato salad was extremely acidic, wasn't balanced with the rest of the food. Service is non-existent, I mean you do everything yourself. Girls behind one of the bars didn't seem like knew what was going on, not to mention the way the place operates is a little confusing for first timers. If this place is busy and bumpin', it's fun. Not a place for a date, it's a hall, so go with 4+ and prepare to really only drink a good selection of beers and the like.

What an awesome hidden spot. Great drinks and great snack mix. Be sure to try the Bartender’s Choice- these mixologists are so experienced and skilled, they will definitely give you a drink that you’ll like. Looking forward to bringing some friends here again.

Very comfy speakeasy. It's hidden on a little backstreet , nice bar, and booth seating. You may have to wait to get in. Drinks were good and the vibe was very retro. Service is a bit slow but I would definitely recommend

Hidden gem with top-tier cocktails! The Ransdell Room is a true speakeasy experience—intimate, moody, and full of character. We didn’t have to wait long to get in, and it was totally worth it. We went with the bartender’s choice, and the server asked a few quick questions to learn our flavor preferences. The drinks they came back with? Spot on. Perfectly crafted, unique, and tailored to our tastes. Definitely one of the best cocktail experiences we’ve had in Atlanta. Highly recommend for a lowkey date night or a chill evening out.

Such a cool spot to enjoy some amazing cocktails in such a cozy atmosphere. The menu is simple but diverse, but what I thought is really cool is the last option is tell the bartender what you like and he will create you a drink which my fiancé did. Our bartender Sam hit it out of the park with her likes, and I ordered the La Intensa which could have been one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had it was beyond delicious. I will be returning for that drink, Sam’s experience, and an awesome atmosphere

Awesome speakeasy style bar. Small (15ish tables plus bar space) and doesnt take reservations. Got lucky that there was a table open when we walked in as it was the last one. Booth was comfty, mood lighting was romantic, music was a bit odd for the setting (latin-ish vibes) but not distracting. Drinks were great, had the bartenders choice which resulted in a good interesting drink. Lots of liquor options too and snacking food looked solid.

I love the ambiance here... dim lighting, candlelit tables, and that speakeasy vibe that makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. If I hadn’t known the door led to the bar, I would have walked right past it. The cocktails are fantastic. While there’s no real food menu, they do offer a few small bites like olives and popcorn to snack on. This spot is perfect for a romantic date night or an intimate evening with friends. Definitely better suited for smaller groups.

I really want to gate-keep, but this place is such a gem...the service, the drinks, the atmosphere is exactly what you need to enjoy an adult night out. Nothing watered down here... The decor is sexy 70s chic, it's dark, which made me love it even more...come ready to drink and be merry. No reservations, so there might be a wait list when you arrive. This establishment does not allow standing, so if there's no bar or booth availability, you can wait to be seated. I've come multiple times, and I'm still a fan. Hey, management...good job!

Such a cute little spot in Fishtown. The hip retro decor wasn’t trying to hard it juste was genuinely chic in with its mid-century but not tone. The staff were lovely and knowledgeable and helpful with choosing our cocktails while also giving space for us to chat and catch up while sipping our distinct and delicious drinks. We had no food only drinks but I would come back again for more drinks and a nibble.

I found my new favorite cocktail here. Some of the cocktails are absolutely delicious, and there’s going to be an option for everyone. Some seats are directly below a row of ceiling speakers that fire downwards (why?). It is deafeningly loud (like 100dB) and painful to sit there. The charcuterie board is a little underwhelming. Other than that, great vibes and great drinks.

I live in the neighborhood. Have for a while. I've been in the establishment more than a few times. The bartenders and people that work there are beyond snobs. It's over priced. My brother ordered an old fashioned and the server came back a few moments later to tell him they were out of the bourbon they were gonna use. He suggested Evan Williams as a replacement. That's crazy. Bottom shelf for a top shelf price. My brother opted for a different drink. Fast forward to the following Saturday night. I'm out with a friend and we decide to pop in for a fancy drink and they tell us no. Just straight up no. You can't just go up to the bar and order a drink. There's clearly space. So we leave and go to Johnny Brenda's. Always a good time. Upon leaving JB's at 1am, we notice that R&D has pretty much cleared out and only a few people at the bar. So we decide to try again. The same dude that served me and my brother previously in the week told me flat out no. It was 1am. Place is a joke. After talking with others about this place, it seems everyone agrees this a place for a specific type of person. The little hostess guy also had an insane amount of makeup on. Looked green and reptilian like.

My friends and I heard so many good things about R&D, and it did not dissappoint! Vibes were elegant but casual, drinks were diverse and we enjoyed everything we tried. It's everything you expect from a trendy cocktail bar. Sweet interior, great cocktail menu (whoever designed it-- I love you frfr it's so cute to look at!) and I can imagine this place being perfect for dates, celebration, or friends wanting to enjoy a night bar hopping. Every drink was fun and provided something different for us in both flavor and aesthetic. The service was fantastic and we never had to wait long for another round. We would have stayed longer, but we were there on a night where the kitchen was closed.

Incredible, high quality cocktails! Yes, it’s a bit on the pricey side, but the attention to detail and presentation is what makes it worth it. Our server was extremely attentive and made sure to top off our water frequently. We ordered numerous drinks throughout the night (probably tried half the menu) and were not disappointed with any of them. I look forward to returning!

Unfortunately, this was a letdown from start to finish. The blaring club music created an off-putting atmosphere, and the drinks were overwhelmingly sugary—so much so that we couldn’t finish either of them. While the bar concept is intriguing, it just doesn’t come together. The limited food menu feels mismatched with the drink offerings, making for an overall disappointing experience.

Went to r&d on a rainy Friday with a few friends. We sat at the bar witch was super cute and the staff was really friendly. I got the Baja blast margarita. Which was just a blue marg didn’t taste like baha from Taco Bell lol There menu is a calendar with drinks as the photos. I thought that was super creative and fun to go threw. The atmosphere is really nice and calm. I highly recommend for a date night or just hanging out with some friends to try some fancy cocktails. Will definitely be back.

Super cool dive bar that felt very local but also a welcoming feel. There was a decent beer selection and there's no way to miss that this is a cash only bar. Service was good and music selection was great. Really enjoyed the vibe here and wouldn't mind going back. I read that it gets busy at night so we went some time after lunch and it wasn't busy at all.

Glad we were able to pop in here! Cool, laid-back vibes, great service, regular patrons, local art displayed and for sale. I think I saw some chip bags for sale but otherwise I don't think there's food. Still, good beverage variety and great environment!

Fantastic atmosphere. Darts and excellent decorations. Cash only. I visit every time I do nightlife in Philly. Could maybe use one more bartender for certain rushes, but other than that, great. I dropped a dart through my foot here once and I’d still go back.

Quite cheap, if you are looking for dice bar attitude you are gonna get it. Was a bit surprised but a citywide being some weird non-descript fruit based alcohol (really can't tell you what kind). Atmosphere was exactly what you expect. Cash only.

We had our wedding reception at Philadelphia Distilling on 8-8-25. Before deciding on Philly Distilling, we had been there about 3-4 times for happy hour. We always enjoyed their food and drinks, the staff was friendly, and, of course, the space was beautiful. Leading up to the big day, Nicole, their venue coordinator, helped us plan all the details. Jesse led us through a cocktail consultation to curate the perfect cocktail menu. On the day of - our guests loved the food (especially the short ribs and the mac and cheese), loved the unique space (both indoors and outdoors), and had nothing but great things to say about the drinks and the staff. Having our wedding reception at Philadelphia Distilling completely exceeded our expectations! We are so happy we picked this spot as our very unique wedding venue!

Cocktails here are phenomenal. See Max because he is so personable, knowledgeable, and makes unbelievable drinks. Thank you for an outrageous start to our Philly trip!

We went for the tour & tasting. We had a great time. Jonah did an amazing job. Especially for him only being there for 5 months. We learned a lot about the distilling process, history and overall business. The complimentary cocktails in the beginning were delicious. Afterwards we sat at the bar and enjoyed some appetizers and more cocktails. Definitely recommend!

We went on the distillery tour which was lead by Val, and it was so fun! Learned some interesting history and had a great time with the group. The cocktail they gave at the beginning was great and it ended with multiple gin tastings. I hate gin but I still had a great time!!

Went there yesterday evening and loved it! Great environment with industrial aesthetic and relaxing vibe. The cocktails are great, I personally really like the Heiress, light and ethereal. Other than drinks, the food exceeded my expectations a lot. Really like the sour cream with herbs that came with the crispy potatoes. Also, the beyond burger with the parsley sauce is fantastic. Definitely try this place if you’re around.

Bartenders were lovely, drinks were fantastic, vibes were immaculate! The bartenders in particular were happy to discuss the making process of each cocktail. Tourist friendly but in an intimate and chill way.

Atmosphere was great. Hand crafted cocktails were solid, on point, and worth the premium. Fun wait staff and the bar staff are amazing to watch as they demonstrate their craft! This is a good place for a fun time.

Fever dream of a cocktail bar. Found a used air fryer underneath the table and various wait staff passing by saying odd things throughout the hour or two there. Good drinks though.

This is a wonderful bar just off the square. I didn’t know it was available for a private function until my kids suggested it. We did a buyout of Franklin Mortgage last night for our kids engagement party. The staff were wonderful during the setup and though out the night. They were able to get us everything we needed and made sure we as the hosts had all that we needed. If you are looking for a party space for 100 people or less this is a fun and beautiful place to host a party this should be your first choice. The drinks are inventive and they created some custom cocktails for us. In addition, they had plenty of novel cocktails of their own to choose from. We were able to bring our own food in to customize the experience. We will be back to enjoy Franklin mortgage for a date night soon and recommending it to everyone.

A friend brought us here. When she told me the name, I was thinking "Why am I pulling up a financial marketing place to check in?" Got it! ATMOSPHERE: When looking at the facade of the building, you'd think there was nothing there. The only signage is a street light style banner that says "The Franklin" but has no mention of being a bar except for a tiny, cursive and almost illegible "A drinking establishment" wording at the bottom like fine print. You enter from downstairs to a nondescript door. Once inside you see human life. It's a narrow rectangular room that is a basement, with industrial decor, black ceilings and dim lighting. There's bar and table seating. They have no food here. DRINKS: On the menu was a long list of mixed drinks. No vodka is served here. Only a small wine list and an even tinier beer list. Being a beer & champagne drinker only, I opted for a boring beer. Sorry. SERVICE: I thought our female server was good but my partner thought she was having a bad day by the way she barked at him to say they don't sell vodka. OVERALL: Overpriced, and we would never have come here had it not been for our friend. I'm glad we checked it out though.

We had a great experience here. We assumed we can just walk in and sit at the bar for a drink. This was not the case. They did however accommodate us and gave us a table that was reserved, which was perfect since we only wanted to have a drink before our dinner reservations. The old fashioned might be one of the best I have had and they gave us shots when we got our check.

Our to go place for any time that we want to treat ourselves. Great sandwiches, amazing cocktails and beer, wonderful atmosphere. Perfect place for small gatherings

American Sardine Bar…is just a bar in Point Breeze. The best things about this place is it looks cool from the street and has an attention grabbing name. I’m sorry, I don’t know how else to say it…ASB is in need of a BAR RESCUE! It’s dark inside and smells funny, like a toilet tart. I have yet to see anything on the menu to justify the price and to be perfectly honest after sitting upstairs and observing their food service in action will probably never order food there again. The sad part is there’s potential. The name alone grabbed my attention. I’d walk the neighborhood thinking “Hmmmmm, sardine bar🤔….sounds different, you’ve got my attention.” Being excited to go after a long day at work was anticlimactic, ESPECIALLY when I look at the menu and decide to walk home and eat leftovers. This is only my opinion…..which is exactly what my friends told me when I asked them about going. If you want a drink. Great! Also great if you like basic food that cost too much. I don’t mind paying for good food and service (like Insatiable down the street) but when you’re not providing an experience to justify your pricing…..well🤷🏾‍♂️

This is such a cozy spot with great food and vibes! The wings, sauces and fries were so good! Tasty and reasonable portions for the prices. The cocktails were also good and paired well with the food. My friends went on a Wednesday evening and it was comfortable with the warm dim lights and a pleasant crowd (not to noisy or anything). The customer service was fantastic as we were seated quickly and didn't wait long for our food. Erin was our waitress and she was so sweet, attentive, and knowledgeable, especially with helping my friend navigate the menu with his dietary restrictions. Overall, this feels like your local cozy neighborhood bar and I'd definitely come back! The only thing I can't speak to is sardines which is their special (I don't eat seafood haha) but that's probably good too!

Last night I went for the first time! I got a great seat at the end of the bar where I could watch the rest of the restaurant. Very cool and relaxed atmosphere and a lot of people so clearly popular. Felt adventurous and tried the tin fish board and it was very good!!! So much better than I was expecting tin fish to taste, and some great fresh bread and sides that elevated the whole board. Delicious crisp wine and beer paired well!

Loved this spot and would highly recommend. The waitress was extremely kind and the food was reasonably priced and very good. Great spot and would highly recommend the olives and almonds as an app and the key lime tart as a dessert. The sardines and homemade chips were also very good!

Amazing place for sure! I love everything on the menu. I’ve gone here anytime a friend needs to be cheered up. Good system and nice customer service. Easy walk and sit down outside. Very safe system, heaters and beach seating. Cute backyard and lovely ambiance with the outdoor lights.

Atmosphere is so amazing and comfortable, with a warm and cozy vibe - great playlist too. Their menu is very approachable with a lot of interesting variations on classic cocktails with Scandinavian inspiration. They have a good low-ABV and no-ABV selection too. Boomerang was like a delightful spiced floral tea with smooth whisky notes. The Sichuan peppercorn martini was also really creative and well balanced, with just a subtle tingly sensation. They also have a few snacks, that are really generously portioned.

10 out of 10 would recommend. It's not a place for food but the drinks and ambiance are amazing. When you come in make sure to ask for Patrick and Allison, but if you can't get them you will still not be disappointed. When I say they are down to earth and make the best drinks. They made us feel welcomed and made out night. You may not see this spot when you walk past but make sure to double back because you will not be disappointed. I have found my new spot. Make sure to check it out 💯

The atmosphere here is definitely a highlight — very cool speakeasy vibes with a clean, Scandinavian-inspired aesthetic. That said, I wasn’t blown away by the drinks. The concept is interesting, but the execution fell a bit flat for me. The martini with lychee didn’t seem to have much, if any, lychee flavor, which was disappointing. The espresso martini also missed the mark — it lacked the silky texture. Great spot if you're going for the ambiance and want to try something different, but the drinks themselves didn’t quite live up to the setting.

Swedish inspired cocktail bar with surprisingly good bites to accompany the well-prepared drinks. They have a drink with aquavit which is a huge bonus. They have some open face sandwiches that are nicely made, fun flavor contrasts. Also enjoyed the Caesar salad, it’s a great shareable size.

Visited this Moody, elegant Scandinavian bar meaning “second home” for the first time last night. Server was very knowledgeable, and the drinks were fabulous in presentation and taste. Seasonal “at dawn look to the east” was amazing and AH regular “fig around” was lovely too. Only gave 4 stars on food/drink bc Snacks were just ok (popcorn was soggy and pickled veggies were way too firm). We will be back to try more though!

Great Happy Hour & Even Better Pizza Loved the menu and happy hour deals—$46 for 4 items! The cheese pizza was genuinely the best I’ve ever had: thin crust, crunchy (not burnt), and the perfect sauce-to-cheese ratio. I ended up ordering a full-size one after trying the happy hour slice. Philly egg rolls were also good. Service was slow but friendly. Parking is tough, and the music is pretty loud, but it’s a fun sports bar vibe overall. Worth it for the food

I actually really like this place! The vibe was really good and perfect for hanging out with friends. I got oysters and it was ok. Even though some of my food was totally forgotten for like 40 min but the quality of food was ok overall. And my favorite part of this bar is that they have Vietnamese food available. Also somehow there was a trivia night when I was there. It was really fun time!

Pretty cool place to have a drink & taste some Asian infused bar food. The Peking Bao Bun sliders we're my favorite of the things I sampled. The bun was so soft & yummy! The crab ravioli was just 'okay'. I'm not sure,yet if I liked the dipping sauce it came with it not.

Tonight on 10/18, My husband and I decided to go to china town for a sweet treat. He decided since we were parked near bar-ly , he wanted to give it a try, since he has seen good reviews.We decided we would go up to the bar and get a drink. Everything was going so well based on our first expression on the atmosphere. Until suddenly everything went to crap when the bartender opened up his nasty big mouth. As i was looking over the menu, i felt rushed to decide on my drink. His attitude and his overall demeanor was the nastiness i have ever seen in customer service. I thought maybe he was just having a busy night or maybe he probably hasn’t been getting laid. My husband asked about a specific drink and how much it was. He ignored us and printed out the tap and gave us the drink with two dirty shot glasses. My husband decided that he would just go ahead and pay for it. I insisted he didn’t due to his lack of customer service and how ignorant he was when he made us rush through the menu to make us our first drinks with added on unnecessary commentary that we didn’t ask for. When he came back to grab for the tap, I told him you “ you can take the bottle back we don’t want it” he snatched the tap and the bottle with such anger while saying things under his breath. Whatever you wanted to say honey, you definitely could have said it louder so we could hear you. Anyways, based off of the bartender and his nasty attitude, we will not be going back to bar-lay or referring them to our friends and family. I hope buddy learns that if you want to make a decent paycheck, you have to work on your attitude because not earning tips in this economy won’t get you very far, but what do I know, I don’t make drinks for a living.

Stumbled onto this place because I was staying across the street. Came here late night Saturday then ended up coming back the next day for football. It's stunningly awesome. Has the perfect mix of your local pub, a craft beer spot, and a chill sports bar. Tons of tvs and a really good beer list. The late night lo mein was great. Most importantly, the staff and vibe are just perfect. Everyone is nice, and it feels like a family spot in the best way, where everyone is welcome. It's a great example of how a combination of things that don't really make sense on paper work out in reality to create a place I'll look forward to coming back to whenever I'm in Philly.

(Google translate) It was close to the Airbnb we were staying at, and it was a good choice. The menu was quite extensive and there was plenty of beer to choose from. The waitress who served us was very friendly and assertive, even though we were there on a game day. The only downside was the bathrooms, which were too small for the number of people and a bit dirty.

The bartenders usually see when you’re almost done with your drink and ask for the next one. Even when busy, awesome. Food tastes great and is relatively quick. The atmosphere is great. They attract good conversationalists for football. Happy hour 7 days a week. Bartenders are pet cool. NFL Sunday ticket.

Our first stop in Philly and we will be back! The 10 spice wings were so good we put in a second order. Our server, Emily M., made our night. She's personable, funny, and made us want to return. What a great place!

The hotel is fairly standard, offering common amenities without anything particularly special. However, it's a good spot to hang out as it's centrally located, making it convenient for exploring the town. Overall, a decent place for a stay if you're looking for something in the heart of the city.

Nice looking spacious beer bar, also strongly sports focused. Easter Monday at 6.30pm and the place was basically empty. Remained empty til closing time at 9pm but that didn’t bother us as we were having a long overdue reunion, so were anyway only focused on our own company. Good beer selection on tap, tried 4 different brews and also tasted fresh 👌🏽. Took short rib nachos, fig & goat cheese chicken samdwich and the med chicken salad. All passed the taste test and looked the part, 10/10. The bartender Mike also took care of our bar table, and despite being new there (I believe), was very friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and provided quick service. Kudos Mike 👍🏽👍🏽. Solid TV setup, would be interested to see how it is on a big night with sound on and packed out 💪🏼

Food was amazing and service was great. Drinks were a bit pricey, but it is Philly and they were very good. Would definitely recommend stopping in on Monday when they do 50 cent wings(only in quantities of 5 or 10).

Good atmosphere, mediocre food. I got the fig and goat cheese grilled chicken sandwich, it was pretty average. The fries were great though! The hummus platter was underwhelming, the pita was stale. The poke bowl was bland with not a lot of tuna.

Our server was Bryan he is very nice patient and helpful we were happy to have him as our server!! The food was beyond amazing. The Ceasars salad was the best I have ever had in my life it was like a Caesar vinaigrette dressing which was to die for. The pork nachos were also amazing. These 2 items alone are enough to share and fill up 2 people. I also ordered a burger and because of the salad I had high expectations for the burger and it exceeded my expectations. My wife had the shrimp and grits she said it was amazing also!! Top ratings all around for this place!!!

Walked in for some beer and a bite to eat. My wife sat at a table while I went to the bar to order. Three different barmaids and 15 minutes later still no drinks or payment. No menus on the table, none offered to my wife. Finally waved someone over and got some menus. Then ignored by every server who could see we clearly wanted to order. Finally the person who gave us the menus came over, only to tell us the kitchen had shut. Awful service, avoid avoid avoid.

The food was fantastic, the drinks were top-notch, and the service was impeccable. The entire staff was welcoming, attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly. This place is straight fire! I wish we had one in Atlanta. The layout is awesome and I love the concept. Brian kept us rolling with positive vibes and fun games (check out my video) and Jared the manager was super cool to talk to. SPIN, Atlanta’s got red carpet rolled out for ya, come on down!

I've been here several times, always a good vibe. This time I was here for a company (Mindset) get together and everyone had a great time. Of all the times I've been here,I never ordered food, always had drinks. Let me tell you, their double margherita pizza is sooo delicious, probably the best margarita pizza I ever had (hands down).it was so good, I went back there the very next day, just to have it again 😁.

I came here last year for my bachelorette & we came here again this week (07.01.23) for my future sister-in-law’s bachelorette and it was an absolute blast both times. We were a few minutes late (this happens when you try to get 9 women to do anything at the same time) and the staff was so nice about it. They were absolute heroes when it came to taking pics for us and they were such gentlemen in helping the ladies get out of the ping pong tub. The place was so clean, even the bathrooms despite it kind of being a bar. The whole space is fantastic for photo ops, including the bathrooms, the red room, the pong tub, the wall seats, the bar, and the actual Photo Booth. The music was such a hit, it wasn’t all new stuff that not everyone knows yet. There were some epic early 2000 classics in there so the 20’s & the 30’s had a blast. My two sisters are in recovery and don’t drink and I was DDing this time around and even sober, we all had SO much fun. This place is inclusive and an overall blast. Definitely recommend for any type of party or just a night out - or even day, as it opens around 4/4:30.

Perfect private event venue. The team could not be nicer or more accommodating. They think of everything and are one step ahead. Shout out to Arielle Harleman who went above and beyond with details, ideas and communication. Just blown away but how well this team works together to create such a special time for guests. This was my first time trying this location and was recommended by my best friend. I ordered wings in their Cav wing sauce and Brussel sprouts. 10 outta 10. Delivery was also very fast.

Staff was super nice and welcoming, which made for a great experience. The food was solid, I tried the hot wings and wished they had a bit more kick, but that might just be my palate. They do have a hotter option called ‘3rd Degree,’ but honestly, that sounded more painful than flavorful. Overall, it’s a good spot to catch a game, grab a beer, and enjoy some food. I’d definitely come back.

Thursdays .75 wings. Everything we had was delicious! Hot and fresh fingers lickin good. Preztels nuggets, wings with cavanugh sauce, cheesesteak rolls, mozzarella sticks, chicken quesadilla, raspberry margaritas and dirty grey goose martinis.

In Philly for work, all I wanted was a decent Philly Cheesesteak. Got here about 10:30. I knew what I wanted, so at the latest I ordered my food at 10:45pm ( it is now going on 11:20pm). Shoot! This sandwhich better be fire! The food service is not quick or in any fashion up to any standards. I think they only cater to the locals first. I would not recommend this place for food after 10pm. A another patron ordered Shrimp Tacos, he got his food in about 6 mins. I waited over 30 mins for mine(so I can only assumed someone lost my order and never said anything). I get it that things happen, but at the least tell the customer of the issue. The food was good, but the wait time for food was the worst. I would not recommend this place unless they can change my mind. Stay away fro this joint. Unless like most places you are a regular, the service is not very good. No appologizes about the wait time to me. I could only say the service was not good. Granted food is very good, service somewhere got lost. Horrible from my view point. Stay away unless you want slow service(internal sistuation but still mot mu problem).All reviews are on a personal experience and me experince suck for the food portion. Drink service was very good. I mean I bartender started my order and took my card, but never came back to check on me. There was another bartender that did a great job on helping me out. Decent happy hour drinks and food. We had $1 dogs for the Phillies opening day game and they were really good! The new space is nice. Their wings and loaded tots are also very good. update: several of the bartenders downstairs are not friendly. I feel like some of them purposely ignore you. The first time we were here, we were upstairs and it was a different experience.

This place is an absolute gem! I have been here on two separate occasions now while visiting Philadelphia and it is THE BEST sports bar to go to whether there is a game on or not. The atmosphere is beyond amazing & the wings are some of the best you will ever taste!

Went here for an alumni event. The place was a little hard to find because the signs was small and I walked right passed it. The food was pretty good, I ate some wings, pretzel bites, and pizza. The margaritas weren't too bad either.

Perfect dive bar. Cheap drinks and great atmosphere. Only complaint is that it's tiny and gets pretty crowded fast on weekends, but if you're able to grab a table you're set for the night.

Dropped by Oscar's Tavern on a Friday night and was pleasantly surprised by the cheesesteak! The atmosphere felt homey, reminiscent of Ireland. The peppers cheesesteak came with three pieces and was deliciously cheesy. I'm not a fan of thick-cut fries, but these were crispy and well done! I’ll definitely return for a night out with friends.

Real dive bar with some damn good food! My husband and I got their cheesesteaks on more than one occasion during our visit to Philly. Great beer prices compared to a lot of other bars in the area. We will definitely return!

This is everything you could possibly want in a good dive bar. Friendly people, a welcoming bartender, comfortable no-frills atmosphere, very reasonable prices, and cold beer. My mom and I were in town for a concert and were thrilled to stumble upon this gem. We were treated like old friends and we enjoyed chatting with everyone. A perfect experience!!

I gotta say one has to not stereotype over years I've seen bartenders as wanting to focus on production #drinks served in given time period) rather than conversation. They have an awesome bartender, she has black hair, beautiful woman. She managed to do both excellent. Very interesting place. We found this while looking for a cocktail bar in the area. Although in no way what I would consider a cocktail bar, it was a cool place to hang and dance if you’re into that type of thing. Decent bar lineup with an okay drink selection. Our mended specialty cocktails rated a 3 of 5 at best but other than that, very cool place. Hard to justify the $10 cover per person. That alone is why I would never go back.

Amazing DJ, incredible dancers. We felt super safe and the drinks were dirt cheap, especially for quality. Will be coming back to Philly specifically to go to Trestle Inn!

Absolutely love The Trestle Inn. Do yourself a favor and get a whiskey sour- it’s what they’re known for and they’re GOOD- and then hit the dance floor. I love how on-theme the crowd is and how genuinely enthusiastic people are to dance. Great DJ and the go-go dancers are fabulous.

The Trestle Inn should be on the list of Hidden Philly Must See places. Literally tucked under a trestle bridge it’s almost the kind of place that you can’t find unless you’ve been there before. But it is well worth the search. The Trestle Inn is a Whiskey Bar / 1970’s Burlesque GoGo / Dance Club. We visited the Saturday night before Halloween and the joint was jumping with a raucous, yet friendly and well behaved crowd! The bar is well appointed & staffed, the unisex bathrooms are clean and well lit. The entire place was decorated for Halloween. I’m looking forward to my next visit to see how it normally looks. The Trestle Inn is a great find you should add it to your list. Update: In response to the the Owner - I DID try the signature classic Whiskey Sour. When I saw the bartender crack a raw egg into a shaker I said, "Giddieup, I need one of those!". It was delicious! TheBillo313

I had high hopes for this spot—the atmosphere is absolutely beautiful. It’s a relaxing and quiet place, even when it gets packed, which made for a pleasant dining experience. The staff were wonderful: attentive, friendly, and always checking in to make sure we were comfortable. Service was definitely one of the highlights. The food, unfortunately, didn’t live up to its presentation. We tried a variety of dishes from their menu, which they have other menu for vegetarian and gluten-free options—something I appreciated for accessibility. That said, the quality and flavor were hit or miss. The kimchi rice unexpectedly came with shrimp, which wasn’t listed on the menu, and it lacked flavor. The broccoli was bland, and the noodles were dry with barely any seasoning. On the brighter side, the chicken on a stick and the bun sandwich were both excellent—full of flavor and perfectly cooked. Those two dishes really stood out. Their drink menu is surprisingly more extensive than their food offerings, and the drinks themselves were great. One thing to note: they need to keep a card on file for an open tab, which could be a small inconvenience depending on your visit. Overall, while the service and drinks were impressive, I wouldn’t return for the food. It looks much better than it tastes.

Connect to sampan which is Philly best happy hour spot . The bartender made this kind of syrup for his gin drink . I believe it was made with honey ginger and cinnamon etc . It was on the specialty $5 cocktail. The Kim chee rice always good .

Visited here on a beautiful day and the vibes were sooo good! Was able to find a seat at an outdoor table relatively easily, and ordered a drink plus several food items. My favorite being the crab rangoons and chicken bao buns. Did not have a bad bite here. Will definitely come back to try more food! Service was also very quick and attentive.

Price is the best in Center City. Every night from 5pm and weekends is just $7. No time counter. There are enough lots so no problem. But when I tried to use in Saturday and maybe a Car show was in the city, the gate was closed due to no space to park.

Offers an excellent weekend rate and located very central right next to the Philadelphia downtown Sheraton.

Be careful while entering the parking! I just scratched one mag wheel on my brand new car while turning after passing the entrance gate. It's a dark place during the day and there's a nasty curb that continues after the left gate on the driver's side. Parking there just cost me more than 18$.

Truly a lovely dive bar. We were looking for a place in the area to settle in with a drink and our pizza pie and this place jumped out of nowhere. I cannot even begin to explain the theme of the place or the decor, but it doesn't even matter. We went during an Eagles game and the vibe was perfect for our pizza (you can bring in outside food). Cash only bar with super friendly service.

With $4 citywides everyday feels like your birthday. Always magically has exactly enough seats for your whole group and not one other seat in the entire place. The regulars are drunk in a nice way and never mean. Plenty of drunk food around that is open late too. The pinnacle of dive bars.

My mom and I stopped in here for the first time to celebrate her 71st birthday. The bartender John was so genuine and made my mom's day by simply making her feel special and being kind. The whole bar helped cheer for my mom and wish her a happy birthday and the gesture was so sweet it moved my mom to tears. (Video proof). Great vibes, service was okay, but sadly the Manhattan that I ordered was not good at all. Getting the recommendation to go here after Laser Wolf dinner to have a pretty terrible cocktail was not the move. Need to be consistent with classics like a Manhattan, but grateful for the apology from staff.

I was introduced to Next Of Kin months ago and decided to swing by again to honestly see if the vibe was going to be the same during the day vs how it was the night I went. For starters the first night I went there I was amazed at the chemistry between the bartenders and bar backs, then I was intrigued by the selection of spirits, and later on fascinated by a drink called the “Tonique” which ended up becoming my favorite drink at any bar I’ve ever been to. Granted, everyone likes their drinks different and I personally love Mezcal and any Tequila. That specific drink was Coconut Mezcal paired with Amaro, Bitters, and Absinthe. I ended up getting it again when I swung back around and also tried the “Smoke & Barrel” which was a Rye Mezcal, Amaro, and Cherry. Safe to say, both were Phenomenal. It makes sense why this bar won best Cocktail bar of Philly this year!

Our favorite cocktail spot in Philly. The atmosphere is intimate and perfect for a date night. The bartenders are the friendliest bunch and the main reason we've become regulars. They're also talented. The cocktails are delicious and they can make any cocktail you ask for. My go-to is the mosquito. The space is small so we usually arrive early to avoid the line down the block that usually forms after 6.

My partner really liked this place. The 9th street drink really showed the craftsmanship of the drinks. We tried the Poloma and did not like it. The bartender quickly replaced it. The vibe is cool. Highly recommend for a date night, especially in the cozy booths.

About as good of a cocktail bar as I've ever been to. Great atmosphere with a beautiful space, particularly with the booths by the bar. We tried a couple cocktails, and they were all fantastic. Particularly loved the Corn N Oil and their Neopolitain Milk Punch. Deserves to be on all the lists.

We came here for a chill vibe after a night out at Cuba Libre. Recommend the listening room upstairs, we sat in the cozy area next to the vinyls and the DJ chatted with us - he even started playing Willie Colón and salsa once he found out our group was Puerto Rican lol The drinks were good, the cocktail menu was fairly whiskey and rum-heavy at the time (I think they have a rotating seasonal menu). The server made me a great custom drink when I asked for something sweet and light with gin. Would definitely come back with friends for a vibey cocktail hour or to end a night out in Old City.

Went for Liner Notes - an (ongoing?) series where a local poet introduces non-local poets, who read a little bit and then play some songs that influenced the work.It's already a great spot to go and listen to deep cuts and special grooves curated by vinylheads; similarly, it's a great spot to enjoy a creative cocktail in an intimate space. Add the poetry and the interviews and conversation and the artistry on display - it elevates it to a must-visit.

We had a fantastic time at 48. The staff was attentive and kind. It was quite busy, and through it all they were able to kindly accommodate everyone who came in. It’s a small space, and even managed to accommodate us with no reservation. The drinks were excellent and the music was even better (props to the DJ). We’ll definitely be back the next time we return to Philly.

Hey. Are you a human cat? Then this bar is for you. On the night before the night before my birthday, my friend took me to this bar, because I wanted to turn up, but I also wanted to chill out. I didn't have time or patience to wait in line at a club with a mediocre DJ who would frustratingly cut off the Wobble in the middle to play Post Malone. We wanted some consistent atmosphere, away from most people. We wanted to sit in a corner and vibe to chill beats while sipping on drinks loosely based on Prohibition era concoctions. We are cats with opposable thumbs. We walked up the steps to get to 48 Bar, opened the door, and we were greeted by Nina Simone harmonizing about her adventures in Baltimore. The Playlist kept getting better as we ordered customized boulevardiers and negronis and on-/off-menu cocktails. Eventually we all started to nestle in front of the fireplace and human purr (talk about 401ks or whatever). By round #3 we were content, happy to vibe to whatever vinyl the DJ threw on. By the time we left, the block had calmed down save for the Uber drivers sharking around. I highly suggest visiting here, especially if you like vinyl and chillin out or are a human cat.

A chic, stellar bar serving top tier cocktails and vinyl above Sassafras. The bartenders are fantastic, the DJs are among the city’s best, and the setting and vibes are ideal. I’m shocked this place isn’t always slammed.

Definitely the most expert bar hand I witnessed during my 2 weeks in Philly. On request, he crafted a bespoke mocktail, and the boozy concoctions were superb too! Cocktail menu is a mix of classic and creative, and creative takes on classics.

DJ threw a fit that three friends joined our party of 4. We did not know that it was so important to the DJ that the parties and their seating arrangement was so crucial. We had never been here before and will never come back. Which is a shame, the drinks were really good. Too bad one employee with a control problem has to ruin a good evening

The mussels at Chickie and Pete’s are absolutely fantastic — perfectly steamed, tender, and loaded with flavor. The garlic and white wine sauce is rich and addictive, especially when paired with their famous Crabfries. Everything came out piping hot and fresh, and the portion was generous enough to share (though you’ll want to keep them for yourself). The staff was upbeat and attentive, and the whole place has that fun Philly energy that makes you want to stay for another round. Easily one of the best spots around for seafood and a good time!

This is my first time visiting Philadelphia and I must say the food here is so good!! Chickie’s and Pete’s added on to my satisfaction. I had a club chicken sandwich that was very juicy and crispy and flavorful. The Crab Fries were really delicious and they did a wonderful job with my Strawberry Margarita. 10/10 🤩

Grat place before and after an eagles game. The dungeness crabs and Alaskan make your own crabs boil were way to salty. The vegetables in the boil were oily and bland. It would have been nice to receive a spoon/fork to collect the meet from the crab legs. The waitress was super friendly. Overall, a great place to be after the Eagles vs Giants game!!!

Our extended family brought us here for some hangover therapy. ATMOSPHERE: Its a huge sports bar with big windows, wood everywhere and more TV's than a Vegas kino parlor. And they have THE coolest restroom decor I've ever seen! FOOD: Crab Fries Apparently their specialty. The fries were average but the dip is to die for! Not sure why its named that way as there's no taste of crab. Cheesesteak Nachos Huge portion with a good amount of toppings. Very good. Lobster Cheesesteak Meat, fresh lobster & cheese sauce. This isn't the best cheesesteak I've had, but maybe if it came with real cheese it would've complimented the flavors better. Mussels Marinara A family member's dish, so I just tried one. Tender & lots of flavor but I'm not a big mussel fan. Dungeness Crab - Tried a portion from my hubby. It's good but mainstream. Nothing unique. SERVICE: We walked in at lunch time and got seated in about 15 mins. Our female server wasn't the friendliest of people but she did check on us throughout our meal. OVERALL: This is the place to be if you're a sports fan or if you just want some great bar food.

Since April of this month my family of 4 has been going to different locations thrice a week. My spouse discovered that he wasn't allergic to seafood and we've just been coming nonstop.

The sauerkraut is EPIC! The pork knuckle is EPIC! The Hefeweisen is EPOC! The place is epic! No idea how much I'm gonna pay but I don't care. It's that good! Food and beer was so good I travelled back to Germany and enjoyed again the memories from my last trip there.

If you enjoy a German Oktoberfest style venue this is a really cool spot from the front room all the way to the very back. There are neat little details that make you feel like you’re in another place. I didn’t eat any food except for a pretzel, but the beer selection Was exceptional with all imported German, or in that region beers.

We’ve been here four times now and it never disappoints! Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and efficient! Best beer selection in the city. Highly recommend the flights for a flavor expedition. Pork shank feeds two and falls apart. Watch some college football on a Saturday afternoon in their back room.

Excellent food. Spatzle was on point. Beef rouladen was excellent. I've had that at 5 other places and this one was the best. Still, it cant beat black forest inn, stanhope nj (but thats the best restauranton the east coast), but its a close second. It more of a beer hall feel. The decor was very cool, they had a few very very good appetizers on the menu. Overall I will definitely be visiting this place again, we'll worth it. Also, its fairly inexpensive compared to other restaurants. Everyone i was with gave it 5 stars, so do yourself a favor and try this place out

Came here to celebrate Oktoberfest. I don't even like beer, but the "beer wizard" did a fantastic job picking one for me. Loved it! Definitely will be keeping it in mind for future visits.

Always wanted to try wienerschnitzel, so this was my first time and I got this schnitzel sandwich. I found the sandwich to be tasty but the meat was dried out. I got a Caesar salad as side which was good

Two relevant anecdotes: Brought a German colleague here and the food and drink got their stamp of approval - especially the pork crackling! We had an after party for an event here with around 40 guests. Great atmosphere for that and staff handled service, the bar tab, and food efficiently. Highly recommend!

Beautiful bar! The homemade charcuterie board was delicious. The cocktails were unique and delightful! The only thing that was disappointing was that the bartenders seemed distracted and couldn't wait to go home although it was still early. We were visiting from Hawaii and intentionally sat at the bar. They didn't attempt to engage in conversation with any of the customers on the bar.

Super cool and unique bar. They have a homemade bloody Mary mix. But the beer options are plenty and so unique. They have a cider with European apples, a peanut butter and jelly beer, and a fermented Washington cherry beer!

Went here for the first time for a late night meal on a Sunday. They have options for both omnivores and vegans. When we got there everyone was sitting at the bar and no one was in the dining room. We chose to eat at a high top in the bar area. As the night went on people came in and sat in the dining room. I ordered the vegan boudin balls and sweet corn succotash. My friend, who isn’t vegan, had the jambalaya and the surf and turf po boy. The boudin balls weren’t as flavorful as I would have hoped. The succotash on the other hand was delicious. I ate every last drop. It had so much flavor. When vegetables taste like that more people will eat them. My friend really enjoyed his food. The meat in the po boy was tender and the jambalaya had just the right amount of spice. I ordered the vegan bananas foster dessert to go. They packed it well with all the fixings in separate containers. I ended up not eating it until a couple days later so that may have played into the taste. It was just ok. I wouldn’t necessarily need to get it again. All in all this is a good spot to go late in the evening when you are looking for a decent meal.

I was visiting for a conference in town and we noticed this pub was close to our hotel so we went in for lunch one of the days. The burger was perfect; it got even better when paired with the fries. Both were so good that on my last night in the city, despite having eaten earlier, I stopped back in for the same burger and fries. I don’t have any pictures of it because I ate it so fast. I also ordered an interesting beer (pictures included) that was extremely refreshing. The staff was beyond welcoming and was extremely attentive. I will for sure come back here the next time I’m in town. Thank you!

One of the great burgers around in Philly. The smash burger has lots of flavor even with one layer of patty. However it is kinda pricy to pay for a double patty burger for $16. The beers are on point here, however the sweet potato fries are lacking and taste soggy.

Plenty of vegan options. My favorite is the vegan chicken po'boy on the Leidenheimer roll. Fun drinks, including a non-alcoholic option for shark week :) I wish they would bring back the vegan sausage sandwich that they had a few years ago on the menu.

During my visit, my friend opted for the parsnip and apple soup from the specials menu, which she described as bursting with apple flavor and absolutely delightful. Following that, she tried their gumbo, a well-known favorite that did not disappoint. As a vegan, I chose the vegan fried chicken Poboy from their regular menu, which featured seitan lightly breaded and fried, along with lettuce, tomato, pickles, vegan mayo, and Creole mustard on a Leidenheimer roll. The Leidenheimer roll, reminiscent of a French baguette, added the perfect crunch to the sandwich. The seitan fried chicken was cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The half sandwich was quite filling, especially when paired with an appetizer. We also ordered a side of sweet potato fries, which, although pricier than expected, were well worth it - perfectly cooked, crispy, and seasoned just right. No visit to the Kyber Pass Pub is complete without trying their fried green tomatoes, made with buttermilk and absolutely delicious. For dessert, we indulged in the banana foster from their special menu, which was served cold and was a delightful treat for both of us. The vibrant, diverse crowd and lively atmosphere at Kyber Pass Pub truly make it one of the best restaurants in the city. I’ve only been a few times, but this is my new favorite spot. I love being able to share different plates, especially with my loved ones that don’t eat meat and/or dairy. The potato croquettes are a must every time, the empanadas are delicious, and they are generous with the sauce (love that). I look forward to trying more of their food, drinks, and desserts. Seating on the booth side is preferred, it’s easy to smack your head on the dado rail if the chair is too close to the wall on the other side.

Charlie was a sinner. Who was Charlie, why the guilt? Still a mystery, but what is not... this place is awesome. It's moody, dimly lit. The decorations give old-world charm with a modern edge. Offers small plates that are vegan. I had the grilled cheese, omg... and still surprised by the vegan part of it all. Served with style. Service was friendly, attentive- the server even helped to celebrate my half-way to 100 birthday. A great place to take a date or a few friends for an intimate night, where you feel a little fancy but still comfortable. Even visited the bathrooms, not that I needed to but to round out the whole experience. Will definitely go back to check out more of that amazing menu and the high-quality drinks. Great list of cocktails. Everything was good... Highly recommend, if you want good food, good drinks, and a fun night!

Somehow my reservation was cancelled but the staff was able to put our party of 3 outside so I appreciate the last minute accommodation. The restaurant was very busy on a Saturday night. Very dark and moody inside. We ordered the meatballs, potato croquettes, korean style tofu, sliders, empanadas, and the Turkish lamb kafta. My favorite dish was the empanadas. I could’ve eaten 3 orders of them as my meal. The sauce was to die for. Everything else was pretty good. The Korean style tofu was pretty spicy and definitely my least favorite. My vegetarian parents loved the meatballs and the ricotta. We got the coconut crème brûlée for dessert which I highly recommend. We did end up being overcharged which we noticed after our card was ran but the staff was able to correct this quickly.

This place is amazing. The menu doesn't do the food justice. It's tapas style food. Everything was delicious and looked amazing. The darker quiet atmosphere is relaxing with no obnoxious music blaring. It's easy to talk to your family/friends. Literally my only complaint was our water was almost room temp but for some this would be a preference. Can't wait to return.

Located in the Midtown Village, this place rocks my socks off. It's sexy interior and energy is consuming as soon as you step inside. Our server was excellent, and attentive throughout our meal. The high energy also means a very loud space. So, it was a bit difficult to hear and understand what our server was saying. I think he knew how to read lips...because he never flinched to try to understand us. I had to start my night of with a cocktail, and C'est La Vie did the trick on that. Jalapeno infused mezcal, aguardiente, Aperitivo, watermelon, lime, mint cocktail that was perfect. For appetizers we shared Charlie's Rendezvous - maverick cave-aged camembert, white bean hummus, wild mushroom pate, spiced peanuts, red grapes, Castelvetrano olives, grilled bread. Next on to the Curried sweet pea and potato empanadas. On to the Caramelized eggplant bao buns.... HOLY >>> these were good! Finally we dined on the Turkish "Lamb" Kofta - This is the point where I had to remind my partner that "this is a vegan restaurant"... he had completely forgotten that as we ate. Every item we ordered was absolutely wonderful in presentation, flavor and texture. Yet, coming from the San Francisco bay area where food is king, we could not have been more wowed. This was our final meal in Philly and it was definitely memorable. Thank you for such a great dining experience!

The food was very good! But very small dishes. We had to order 2 per person. The service was great! Not a cheap place but not expensive either. It is recommended to make reservations 1 day in advance it's always crowded. We didn't make a reservation and we had to wait 15 minutes on a Sunday night.

First time at Barcade and I was really impressed from the moment I walked in the door! Their selection from the games to the beer is pretty diverse with plenty of specials and happy hours to incentivize you to keep coming back for more. I was fortunate enough to come when they opened up for the day so I was able to take my time with everything. All of the games work as they should and it’s an instant throwback to any arcade I’ve seen growing up. They have a lot of the classics, pinball games, racing games, etc. The games take either their in house tokens or quarters and they can even charge tokens to you tab if you don’t have any cash. Major appreciation to the fact that someone or a company is continuously maintaining these games and I can imagine these games have seen the inside of a few arcades over the decades. Their tap line was by far one of the most unique ones I’ve seen and would’ve loved to try them all if possible. Not having a couple basic beers on tap might stray away some casual beer drinkers, but I love trying new beer so this was no issue. The dollar off discount for happy hour really helped with their pours ranging from 7-10 bucks. I took a star off because I felt like their food menu felt a bit short in comparison to everything else going on in Barcade. I only tried their dollar dogs and some tacos but there was nothing on the menu that grabbed me in the same way that their beer or games did. Finally, the service was great and the bartender was very straightforward and explained how things work there easily. I would go back for more!

Such a cool barcade located inside a historic old industrial space in Fishtown! They really embraced the vibe here & went with it! Not the largest barcade we’ve been too however they have a nice curated selection of vintage games & famous classics. Just need a 21+ ID to enter & you can change your cash bills into tickets. Games cost 2 tokens per which is 50 cents. We came on a Sunday night & it wasn’t packed. Just a Very chill & cool vibe. Everyone was just enjoying drinks while playing games. Nice bar selection of drafts & cocktails. Didn’t try the food. We spent about 2 hours enjoying ourselves.

Disappointing compared to the one in city center. Not even half the size and seems more focused on pinballs than anything else. I don't even remember seeing Marvel vs Capcom(any version) and the Star wars controls needed some TLC. They also seemed more expensive, everything was 3 tokens, which again wasn't the case downtown on my last visit. As such I didn't spend much time or money here. Serving hazy hearted gets you 3 stars, but otherwise a let down.

Stopped here for a few beers with friends. Very eclectic bar and great choice if beers on tap. Was really fun to play the arcade games I grew up with as a kid. We did not order any food, so I am unable to taste or comment.

As an elder millennial, this concept seems so simple it is hard to believe it wasn’t thought of sooner. Old school arcade games and beers. Absolutely brilliant. So many great arcade cabinets from back in the day. You’ll have quite the nostalgia factor here. Very solid drinks menu too with a wide selection of beers and cocktails. Plenty of seating too if you want to socialize without playing.

This was a great find we stumbled upon and hung out in while we were waiting to meet up with some friends. There were tons of games, and they were all in great shape and reasonably priced. There’s a cash to arcade coin conversion machine inside, and there’s a full bar as well. Plenty of seats at the bar, and there’s also lots of spots in the arcade area for you to set your drinks down on while you play. Next time I’m in Philly I’ll probably suggest to my friends we meet up here for the night instead!

Usually my favorite place for a good night of singing! The piano bar is great for singing show tunes and other popular songs. However, I will say the last time was questionable. The pianist sang a lot more than I expected. I'm not sure if that's a requirement for him, but it felt like every 3 songs he would also sing. This is fine, but his attitude to having people talking while singing was rude. I was next in line discussing with my friend on whether or not we should duet, and in the mic the pianist decides to tell us shut up in the middle of his own performance. I have sung multiple times and never demanded people to stop speaking just to hear me sing. This is because I know its not my show and I am in a bar. It will always be loud. But as I said before usually love this place. Just not a fan of how the pianist handled the situation. I've seen it happen before with another person. Hoping it doesn't happen again

We came to the tavern with a group of 12 and started in the basement for dinner. Everything was delicious. The martinis, wedge salad and fish and chips got stellar reviews from the group. The fried mushroom sandwich was raved about as well. We then went to the piano bar for karaoke and then up to the top floor for dancing. The staff, particularly Lauren at the bar downstairs, were all outstanding. Super fun place!

It's always a nice place to visit while in Philadelphia, they always have events, drag shows or performances. The place is usually full of weekends. Bartenders are super nice and they a a pretty decent selection of beers and liquor. It's a 3 floor venue and every floor has a bar and usually different kind of music

Tavern on Camac is such a fun and lively place! They have live music and piano performances that create a great atmosphere. Upstairs, you can head to the second floor to dance and enjoy the night even more. The place is very clean, and the staff are super friendly. Definitely a great spot to spend an evening out

I've only been here a few times over the years to grab a drink and dance a bit with some friends. Atmosphere seems the same each time - relaxed, fun, and easy going, though a bit hard to hear given the small size of the place. Definitely not a place for large groups to go to unless you're having a private event. Can't speak to the food but the music and dancing is decent.

I met my date here for a light dinner (my idea) and it was a very good experience. We were going to meet at the bar downstairs but ended up meeting in the restaurant instead. This restaurant is so nice. The service both at the downstairs bar and the adjacent restaurant is absolutely great. The menu is really good. I'll include a photo of it. I had the Wedge Salad and Fish and Chips with a Diet Coke. And my date had the New York Strip Steak. And everything was really good. If you want to meet someone for dinner in Philadelphia, this is the place. It's quite friendly environment and it has a very good vibe. I highly recommend Tavern on Camac.

Went on a Tuesday night for karaoke and was incredibly happy with our AMAZING karaoke host and all the great positivity. As an ally I felt welcomed. You’re on my list of places to share to my queer friends traveling to Philly!

Would’ve given it 5 stars for the elegant décor, courteous staff and live jazz piano, but when I was just about to sip on my beautiful drink, a dozen finance bros walked in, yelling each word of their conversation and ruined the atmosphere. Considering the location, I wouldn’t say this is a rare occurrence, so we’ll just have to bet our luck I guess.

The cocktails were excellent. Very quiet little cocktail lounge and good older person vibes. No loud music or obnoxious sexy shenanigans at the bar. It's an old school place for cocktails and to even drink by yourself.

Amber and Omar are the best! The drinks Omar made were exceptional and Ambers service and presence was outstanding! A must visit!

This is my one of favorite bar in Philadelphia, it has live music, nice cocktail. I like dark knight a lot, I was a little bit unsure about the color, and the glass they poured in, but it taste very sweet and easy to drink.

A somewhat low-key spot tucked behind the grand facade of The Rittenhouse Hotel. I came on a quiet Sunday afternoon towards the last hour of their 'happy hour' times- more on this later. The drinks were great, and the space was comfortable. It was a very dive / speakeasy environment, and the bartenders kept that mood throughout my time there. It really does give a sense of being in a library with grand bookshelves and polished wooden accents everywhere. I ordered two of their seasonal drinks, which came with complimentary bar snacks. Both drinks had a nice balance and a good spectrum of flavors and textures. The drinks themselves were at a higher price point, but that was expected for the quality of the space and hotel. I didn't realize until after I left, but they did charge me full price instead of their previously advertised happy hour prices. However, even at full price, I'd give it a chance for a spot on my bar rotation. I will definitely come by again for their signature old fashioned before the final say on this spot. Update: came back a few more times, definitely on my regular spot for a pick me up at the end of a long week.

Great place! Ambiance is as close to perfect as you can get. This is a perfect location for meeting friends with a really nice cocktail in your hand or for sitting quietly and enjoying a book with a really nice cocktail in your hand. In fact, it's the first place I've ever felt comfortable just sitting quietly and reading a book by myself, and the cocktails were delicious. The bartenders are pleasant and accommodating. It's expensive (I forgot how expensive it was. I spent $30 on one drink. It was absolutely delicious though!), but the whole experience is worth it. Can't wait to go back!

I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap online, it was great only thing was missing was my pickle. It had a lot of bacon but it was greasy, the bacon grease is what I tasted mostly. Barely any sauce majority of the moisture came from the bacon, wish it was more of the avocado on the wrap. Fry’s were crispy and salty I liked them but it became too salty for me to finish. Also didn’t come with any napkins or condiments

We stopped in for happy hour and enjoyed the food and drinks. The restaurant lighting was a little too dim for my liking where we were seated. I would recommend to give them a visit.

Tradesman’s Bar is a total gem, especially during happy hour! The vibe is just right, and the staff is super friendly and attentive, which makes the whole experience even better. We tried the Midnight Rush drink and WOW… it was incredible. Perfectly balanced, smooth, and just the right kick to get the evening started to wake you up! You can tell they put real thought and creativity into their cocktails! The happy hour prices are fantastic for the quality you get, and the ambiance makes it a great spot whether you’re meeting friends, coworkers, or just want to treat yourself. Highly recommend checking out their happy hour, Tradesman’s definitely earned a spot on my Philly favorites list!

Sips Wednesday it is, while walking I saw that the outside seating for the bar was empty so why not I was looking for a good Sip's spot. The bbq just for a total revamp last week, might be one of the better bbq spots that you can find in center city that won’t cost an arm and a leg. The brisket was some of the moist slices of meat I had in a while and the hot- bbq smoked wings are addicting. Great job for bringing good BBQ to a fun bar and it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.

I was looking for a good brunch and stumbled upon Tradesman's. Pleasantly surprised, the Avocado Toast was amazing. I highly recommend brunch. I can't wait to try the other menu items.

The only bad experience was the male bartender who was working kept skipping over everyone's songs on the jukebox so he could play what he wanted to hear. Very unprofessional but we didn't let him ruin our night and we will definitely be back again! Ethan the bartender is amazing! Very friendly and knowledgeable about drinks and the menu when you are ready to order.

New Wave Cafe was my first time going out to watch an Eagles game in Philly, and it was straight culture shock. I felt like I was watching a highly competitive college football game between two top 5 teams. On an 11 yard gain the bar would EXPLODE like a 60 yard TD run, so imagine how crazy they went when Saquon Barkley actually housed a 60 yard TD lol. It’s only week 3, I can’t imagine what it’s like come playoff time. New Wave pushed a TV up to the window for outdoor patrons, who didn't complain once about the glare that made the game borderline unwatchable. We sat in the sun and I ordered some buffalo wings and a couple aperol spritz's as I need to get my last few in as summer fades away. I was shocked at the quality of these wings. They were actually crack. The perfect amount of buffalo sauce, along with an ideal crisp on every bite. We almost ordered 10 more but had an early dinner, so we made a business decision. As the Eagles began to get the game under control, the desperate cries of "WHAT THE HELL SIRIANI" turned to "Okay, great win, but we need to stay focused for Tampa after what Atlanta did to us..." Different Cheesesteak #1191. It's a sneaky good cheesesteak. If I were young and hip, I would be a regular at New Wave Cafe. The cheesesteak came with sneaky good French fries. It passed the eye test mostly due to the seeded roll, red peppers, and a big pile of french fries. Provolone cheese. Very well-melted provolone cheese. A sneaky good amount of well-melted provolone cheese added a hardiness to each bite. Nothing really stood out. This cheesesteak by itself may not win any awards. But, all things considered; prime rib, french fries, presentation, decor, and service; I really liked it!! You know I don’t like $17.

We got the nachos, Brussel sprouts, short rib grilled cheese and salmon salads. Salmon was cooked well and seasoned perfectly. Grilled cheese was delicious. I would have preferred the Brussel sprouts were crispy personally. Food was hot, however, and served in a timely manner. Service was good. We were greated quickly and the waitstaff was friendly. There were several options for gluten free and vegetarian which was helpful. Overall, good experience. I would recommend trying this restaurant out!

7/17/20 My partner came her around 5PM on a Friday. There was outdoor seating available. The owner "Sam" immediately offered my service animal a piece of jerky and they accommodated him. We thank you for that. Sam is a very amusing, and friendly man and got my partner and I to laugh and feel comfortable trying out a new establishment. The server even brought extra cups of water that we could pour into his bowl so he could drink. I felt very comfortable as some restaurants are not so accommodating. Our server was very sweet, attentive, and did an amazing job. All the staff were so friendly. My service animal ordered the "Cheeseburger" with no bun or veggies and enjoyed it very much! This has to be some of the tastiest food I've had in a while! It's on the 2nd time I'm eating out since March. I love that they have vegan options! I ordered the "White Bean Hummus" which was amaaaazing. It was just the right consistency and flavor, it tasted FRESH and came with a great combination of veggies. I also ordered the "Veggie Burger" which happened to be the Beyond Burger so it's wonderful for those of us with soy intolerance/allergies. Added jalapeño and our server had pickles thrown on there as well. I rarely review about a "Side Salad" but the balsamic dressing was soooo good and unique! My date ordered the "Mozzarella" and the "Short Rib Grilled Cheese". I love how they come round shaped with such nice crunchy breading! He moaned after taking his first bite of the grilled cheese sandwich which is a huge sign he's satisfied. We are both major foodies so for us to find a place where we both loved and enjoyed the food and could both easily find something to order was great. Prices were reasonable and portions large. We both had to box some food up for later. We would MOST DEFINITELY return again to this establishment and this has secured a place in a top choice and restaurant in Philadelphia to visit. Keep up the great work guys and thanks for such an amazing and memorable experience! I recommend everyone to come here, you WON'T be disappointed and there is something for everyone! 5/5

Dear Fountain Porter, Hi! I hope you all had a good shift tonight. I am sharing this review because I am in the industry, and it honestly hurts I have to write it... I know your burgers are delicious and beyond affordable. So when a guest ask if you take temperates on a burger, I believe he or she would or should receive what they asked for . I am pretty sure we may not agree on this. I say this only because who dares ask for a cheeseburger well done? It sacrilege, right?! Especially at 6$? How dare they? This guy right here. It's crazy. I understand you all are busy, but if I spend my hard earned monies for a simple 6$ cheeseburger, I would expect it done the way I asked. It is simple, right? I mean, it is a simple request for a simple cheeseburger. What's totally not cool is because I was truly looking forward to finishing and enjoying my cheeseburgers. It was my dinner and I had to toss both of them. I share this after I found a bent up staple in my cheeseburger the last time I was there- maybe the week before last? The only reason why I am sharing this now is because I thought to myself, " there is no way a bent staple was in my cheeseburger, and how can I even share this when the cheeseburger was on $6?" On top of that to get some med-rare burgers when there are 2 options - med rare or well done (maybe that is not the case), and when your guests have the option of choosing which temperatures, it is not acknowledged, and I come again to check you out? I will say this, the staff seemed genuine, yet busy. The fries were dope. Your guests were polite and friendly- I appreciate that. Am I wrong for sharing this? I mean, I am all about supporting the industry and small businesses when I can, but good golly. I was hungry. I had to toss the foods because I cannot eat burgers this way. Not Kool guys! Have a good shift!

The best burger in the city for $6 (better than a few I’ve had that are triple that price), superb fries, delicious pickles (I’m a pickle girl and these were amazing), awesome beer and wine selection. You can’t go wrong! I’m honestly bummed I don’t live in the neighborhood because I would be a regular if I was.

I walk from Rittenhouse to come here on the weekends. It’s one of my favorite places in Philly. $6 cheeseburgers that are so good and actually well seasoned. Amazing draft list and wine list. They have wine bottles and beer to go. Perfect fries and 4 different pickled veggie options to have as a healthy snack (green beans, carrots, dill chips, jalapeños). They have 1 TV and play local sports. They have a record player that always is cranking out awesome tunes. They open the windows when nice outside. It’s a special corner bar in the heart of south Philly/passyunk that is for sure.

I stopped by here one night for a brief visit. I ordered the burger and a well screwdriver. The burger was very tasty and pretty high quality, but I found that the bun was somewhat lacking in sturdiness and could have benefited from being toasted. Otherwise it’s pretty much a basic standard burger and should not be overhyped but definitely respected as a good burger. Getting sturdier bread and toasting it would definitely help, like I said. As for the service, it was pretty much good although there was a weird moment where the bartender seemed to gaslight me because another patron felt the need to talk to me about it after he walked away. She reassured me that I heard what I thought I heard from him and that I was “good” and his gaslighting was weird. I was literally unsure before this patron told me this so I appreciated her input. The atmosphere is loud, dark and cramped. That’s some people’s cup of tea.

I had a terrible experience here. My friends and I ordered a round of drinks and were sitting at the bar chatting and having a great time. We noticed a long while had passed, and the bartender hadn’t been over to check on us. We called her over to order another round, and she said she would serve us only if we quieted down because we were “killing the vibe in here“ and that we could either quiet down and have another drink or leave. “It’s up to you.” My friends and I are teachers on summer break. We were having a great time, but we were not by any means inappropriately loud. We were talking/laughing at a volume that’s appropriate for a typical bar setting. If we were a little too loud for the “vibe” at this particular pub, there are much more respectful ways to ask us to quiet down. There was no reason for this bartender to first ignore us and then reprimand us. I’ve never felt so unwelcome. South Philadelphia is a warm and welcoming place and always has been - that’s the “vibe” here. I should know, because I’ve lived here my whole life. If you’re choosing to operate a neighborhood bar, maybe you should focus on making the people who live and work in the neighborhood feel welcome! We’re loud, lovable, and fun. I guess this boring, overrated, snooty place just doesn’t match the “vibe.”

Outside of this bovine delight, FP is a favorite bar of mine to relax at; imbibing an excellent range of craft beers and listening to an all vinyl playlist. Great bar tenders. I heard their bar food was good but I was surprised how good it was. The grilled cheese was definitly made with some good high quality cheese and mushrooms. It wasn't too much either like a lot of grilled cheeses are. The potato salad was ballanced well and matched well too. The atmosphere was good as well with some great lighting and seating. The staff was friendly and quick as well. Overall a good spot especially if you want a bite with your drink.

Heard about Lloyd’s late night happy hour and was surprised at the good selection of food! We started with the $7 moscow mules. They were super heavy on the ginger, more-so than what I’m used to. They were still refreshing but not strong. For food, we got the chicken bites ($7) and fries. The chicken bites were so good we got a second order. It came with smoky BBQ sauce, ranch, and another hot sauce. All of them were delicious. They were crispy but still soft and juicy. The fries had good seasoning on them, but weren’t crispy enough. A lot of them were soft. I’d ask for them well done next time. We sat at a table outside, which was perfect. Inside was dark and noisy. Overall, I’d definitely come back because who doesn’t love a late night happy hour and good chicken bites!

Great spot for drinks - enjoyed the Whisky selection and the beers on tap. Food was really good as well. The Lloyd burger was cooked perfect at medium rare and the street corn was a nice side. Service was great and we all enjoyed our dinner. Will definitely go back.
