Chicken restaurant
Takeout Restaurant
Love & Honey Fried Chicken is a laid-back spot offering take-out options for delectable fried chicken, wings, and chicken sandwiches alongside classic Southern sides. Established in 2017 by Laura and Todd Lyons, this eatery has become renowned for its perfectly crunchy buttermilk fried chicken, which is brined for eight hours, coated in buttermilk and seasoned flour, deep-fried to perfection, and topped with honey.
The Nashville fried chicken sandwich was excellent—flavorful and nicely spicy, which I really enjoyed. The fried chicken/tenders were decent, though a bit too greasy for my taste. Overall, still a solid option if you’re craving fried chicken. They only do take-out, order ahead so you don’t have to wait, and be prepared because parking is brutal

Have you ever taken a bite out of a juicy chicken thigh only to greet your pallet with an outpouring of blood? No? Well I wish I could say the same. Unfortunately, today I received an undercooked chicken thigh from this establishment and I really don’t understand how that could have happened. Are we not using meat thermometers anymore? At home I can understand, but in an actual restaurant there is no way that it was cooked to 165 degrees Fahrenheit and then boxed up to serve to the public. I am appalled and will never order from here again. This is unacceptable. As a pregnant woman I would prefer to not get salmonella. Never. Again. I have consumed the portion of what I hit and now am Really sick and not having fetal movement. A law suit will issued if this is not eradicated.

I didn't realize they were Togo only when I got here otherwise I would've ordered online. As such I ordered at the window and had to wait. There is no seating so definitely save yourself the time and hassle and order ahead. I got the spicy chicken sandwich this go as I was walking to my next destination. The sandwich was big, crispy, spicy and perfectly tender. I had a hard time not burning my mouth trying to eat it faster than I should've. While good, this wasn't really what wanted to order. But given the no dine in option and not wanting to lug around a box of chicken and sides all over fishtown I had to *settle for the sandwich. Support black owned businesses.
Malcolm E — Google review
First time trying this place. Picked up my order around 9pm. Food smelled amazing on the way home but food didn't match the smell. The Chicken sandwich bread was stale, so i tried the chicken alone and that was good. The Chicken tenders tasted like it was fried in burnt old oil. I think I came on a off night, based on the reviews I will try again but at a earlier time.
Shanika S — Google review
Ordered takeout from Love & Honey Fried Chicken for the first time, I’ve heard great things about their chicken. I ended up getting a kids meal, which was truly a great deal. 4 chicken tenders, tots and a side sauce for under $10. The chicken was flavored well, I wish they were crispier though. The tots stole the crispy show, they were great! I also loved the ranch. I got an oreo cookie for dessert, I’m not sure if they sent the wrong one but I didn’t taste any oreo flavor. It also seemed a little overcooked, I wasn’t a fan. I would consider coming back to try a chicken sandwich in the future!
Ariana L — Google review
Amazing service, Chicken tenders so flavorful, love the fact I can watch my tenders being fried through the windowwwww! Oh the Nashville tots and the sauce….. phenomenal
Charmaine S — Google review
I've eaten at Love & Honey Fried Chicken twice and my experience was identical both visits. I've come to this conclusion: L&HFC is the most crunchy and deliciously FLAVORLESS chicken I've ever had. It's quite perplexing but it's honest. I likely won't revisit but the establishment itself is very nice!
Julia B — Google review
The best delivery fried chicken in Philly, hands down! Crispy, crunchy, and tasty -- they brine their chicken well and fry it with perfection! Some stellar chicken sandwiches and some memorable tots! Don't get me started on The Biscuit Jawn -- a savory sandwich that is a must-try!

Donut shop
Federal Donuts is a popular counter-serve spot known for its Korean-style fried chicken, creative donuts, and coffee. While it may not offer a full menu at all locations, the outpost at Citizens Bank Park stands out for having a working fried donut machine during Phillies games. Customers can enjoy hot made-to-order donuts alongside their chicken sandwiches and Za'atar Fries. The variety of donut options is impressive, with the chocolate with sprinkles being a fan favorite.
Yummmmm Fed Donuts at Citizens Bank Park....hell ya! Not only do they make the best donuts in the city but they make an excellent fried chicken sandwich! I love that they are at CBP, what a great addition!!
Eric S — Google review
I only got their donuts (cookies and cream) but I loved them. They hit my sweet tooth perfectly! I was surprised when I realized that they didn't do a combination of tenders and donuts, but I guess I have to get them next time. Yet, I do wish the donuts were a little bigger.
Sebastian O — Google review
Man oh man it seems like this location went down hill over the last two years. Got my first order of tenders for myself and the family and they sure did get a lot smaller! No giant hands here either. Price didn’t go down. $14 for 3 of these? Do better federal donuts!
Tony B — Google review
At Citizens Bank Park tonight, I ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich(fried chicken breast with buttermilk ranch dressing and pickles on a bun, $13.50). When I took it to my seat and bit into it, parts of it were very chewy and some parts I couldn't chew or bite through at all because the chicken was not thoroughly cooked through. I spit the inedible pieces into the sandwich wrapper and threw half of the sandwich. Except for the ranch dressing, the chicken was tasteless and undercooked. This is my first visit to CBP this season, and in the last 3 seasons I'd usually go to 4-6 games per season, and I always get the same fried chicken sandwich which has always been tender, juicy, and flavorful. So, imagine how thoroughly disappointed I was this time, and there will absolutely NOT be a next time. I will not be visiting Federal Donuts again and I won't be recommending it to anyone. If I could give this experience a lower rating than 1, I would do so.
Steve P — Google review
It probably goes without saying that this is not the best Federal Donuts location. It doesn't have a full menu and their chicken sits under a heat lamp during ballgames. However, they get MAJOR points for having a WORKING FRIED DONUT MACHINE at the ballpark! You can actually get hot made to order donuts during. Phillies game! We just got their chicken sandwiches, which were good but small, and some Za'atar Fries. Both were good but I would probably rather avoid paying the high prices and just get some standard ballpark food. If you are ONLY in Philly to see a baseball game. Definitely stop here. I know that you have heard a lot about our cheesteakrs but, believe me, these donuts are not be missed.
David L — Google review
Chicken was pink, chewy and not cooked through. I thoroughly support federal doughnuts and understand the stadium is busy but I did not appreciate being up all night with food poisoning.
Michael M — Google review
Very good donuts. However They are better off site not in the stadium in their other locations

American restaurant
Restaurant
Bud & Marilyn's is a retro-style eatery and bar that offers updated American classics in a quirky setting. The restaurant, along with its sister establishments, Little Nonnas and Barbuzzo, provides daily dinner specials for two through delivery or takeout. This includes dishes like buttermilk fried chicken and stuffed meatloaf served with sides such as garlic mashed potatoes and roasted veggies, plus dessert.
My wife and I came to Bud and Marilyn’s on a Saturday morning for brunch. We were in the city for a matinee show and made a reservation a week in advance. We were seated right away. The front of house staff was very friendly and engaging. We were given ample time to decide and order without feeling ignored. The cinnamon roll arrived about 5 minutes after ordering it and it was delicious! Definitely worth sharing. I ordered the sausage and biscuits and my wife ordered the Croque Madame which was a daily special. Both were fantastic. The biscuits were not dry and the gravy had a great flavor without being overly salty. The bread on the Croque Madame had a little sweetness to it with great balance to the ham and cheese. Overall, everything was great and would highly recommend!
Bill M — Google review
Dropped in for brunch and appreciated the relaxed vibe. It wasn’t crowded when we arrived, so we were seated quickly—always a win. The highlight? Hands down the cinnamon roll. Soft, moist, packed with flavor, and surprisingly good even with raisins (which I usually avoid). It’s absolutely worth a return visit on its own. As for the meal: I had the chicken and waffle. The chicken was tender, but lacked seasoning—it needed a boost from salt, pepper, and hot sauce to really come alive. The waffle had a solid soft crunch— nice balance, and the fried egg was perfectly cooked. Drinks were good, but since I ordered a French 75, hard to say much—it’s not a cocktail that’s easy to mess up. Would I go back? Maybe, if I’m nearby. I’d try something different next time, but I’d definitely order the cinnamon roll again.
K L — Google review
Fantastic American comfort food experience. The retro diner vibe was a fun touch, and it felt both stylish and fun. We ordered the Bud's Double Patty Burger and the Shrimp Po Boy Buns, and both were excellent. The burger was juicy and flavorful, everything you want in a classic. The shrimp po boy buns were great with crispy shrimp, fresh fixings, and perfectly buttered potato rolls made for a delicious bite. Service was friendly and efficient, adding to the overall positive atmosphere. We'd definitely recommend Bud & Marilyn's for a satisfying and enjoyable meal in Philadelphia!
Arem A — Google review
This was a great find. The food, service, and atmosphere was great. Great music playing in the background. We enjoyed this visit. We had a great time talking and eating. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that visits the downtown Philadelphia area. It was an 8 minute walk from our hotel, so we got to get some walking time in on the way.
Michael H — Google review
Wonderful late dinner. Excellent service and ambiance. A quiet place tucked in the corner with spectacular food. Everything we ordered was spot on. Will definitely be back soon.
Dharm K — Google review
After a long day of design work, it was only right to fill our bellies. We attempted to dine at a familiar restaurant, but due to the start of Sips, downtown was CROWDED. I’ve never seen so many people. Any whooooo, after getting through the crowd, we ended up at Bud & Marilyn’s for friend chicken, a side of Caesar and club soda to wash it all down. Service was great, the suggestions were a hit, and our bellies were satisfied.
Zsavon M — Google review
Atmosphere was amazing. My waitress Emma was top tier. The crab hush puppies were amazing! I’ll definitely be back. I also loved that they had mocktails
Ty' — Google review
I had the fried chicken and a Bloody Mary. The chicken was excellent—crispy, juicy, and a very generous portion (half a chicken, cut in pieces). The slaw and house-made pickles on the side were fresh and balanced, perfect palate cleansers. The Bloody Mary came with a pickled pepper and paired really well with the meal. I’d definitely come back anytime I’m in Philly.

The Twisted Tail is a popular Southern-inspired restaurant and bar located in the charming Society Hill neighborhood of Philadelphia. It offers a bi-level space with a sweeping sidewalk patio, perfect for enjoying cocktails, barbecue, and Southern American fare. The venue hosts live blues music on most nights, creating a lively atmosphere for visitors and locals alike.
I went here for Brunch with a few friends and the Twisted Tail was definitely worth it. The menu is extensive enough to cater to all different types of food palattes. They also have Champange sundays which was fun in which you pay 20 bucks for a bottle of champagne and the juice is free. They offer non-alcholic drinks as well, which were a bit pricey, but gives another option for people if they do not wish to drink. The food came out quickly and all tasted delicious. I want to come back for dinner to see how it compares.
Rebecca S — Google review
I went for dinner with some of my closest friends to celebrate my graduation last week. It was about 14 of us so it was a large group dinner. Overall, the atmosphere was nice, it wasn’t too noisy and the hostess, Melinda, if I’m not mistaken, did an amazing job in making sure everyone was satisfied. However, I wasn’t that thrilled about not only the food but the sizes, they were very small. Especially the octopus! It was just one tentacle deep fried. I have attached a picture of the octopus and the steak. Also, it would be nice if the restaurant made a better set arrangement for the check considering the reservation was booked well in advance and they were aware of how big the table was going to be. I’d give it a 4/5!

Wonderful atmosphere and exceptional service! We enjoyed live music and chef's tasting menu at slow and pleasure pace. The cocktails were fantastic and out server was one of the best we've ever met! Highly recommend for a laid back evening with wonderful music and food.

I love everything about this restaurant ... outstanding southern cuisine, cool atmosphere, friendly staff ... a real good time over an excellent dinner!!! I highly recommend whether it's date night, a group event or a quick bite. You'll dine well!!
Cheryl H — Google review
The food is decent for brunch with a wide variety - but it’s pretty dark inside given the atmosphere (think like an English or Irish pub vibe). That said, they had a musician come in to sing jazz and play the keyboard, which was LOVELY. A very good brunch vibe, just wish it were a little more well lit.
Brianne M — Google review
We went for a quick bite and some drinks. The waiter was very friendly and attentive, and the vibe was really nice. Unfortunately the only good food were the oysters and popcorn. The taco was literally a whole chorizo and pre made cold tortilla with very minimal cheese, but the sauce was good. The octopus and potatoes were cooked well but tasted a bit odd and sort of dirt like? Again, the service was really good and everything was plated well! We did only have a few things and may have just gotten the not great part of the menu so I wouldn't completely write this place off.
Gaby — Google review
Christina H was our server, and she was so sweet! She was very knowledgeable about the menu, and even though I wasn't too hungry, she helped me navigate what foods were good portion sizes for that. The live music was phenomenal and such a vibe. Sitting in a piece of history is remarkable! Cannot recommend this place enough, we had a lovely time!
Shaunee M — Google review
If I could leave more stars, I would! I took my daughter and her friends here for her 18th birthday dinner. We were treated like ROYALTY! The manager Anthony made the dinner extra special. The environment is warm, cozy and inviting. The food (even the presentation) was top notch, delicious, fun and the drinks were AMAZING as well. I would HIGHLY recommend and if you dont, your missing out. You owe it to yourself, friends/family etc to head over to have the best dinner, listen to some great live music and truly enjoy yourself.

The Love, a chic dining spot in Philadelphia's Center City, is a creation of Aimee Olexy and Stephen Starr. This upscale restaurant offers seasonal American cuisine in a tastefully designed setting just steps away from Rittenhouse Square. The ambiance exudes a contemporary yet cozy feel, making it an ideal choice for romantic outings.
Amazing food! We had reserved a table for 4 and then eventually 5 of us came on the day of, and they were able to accommodate us easily. The wait for table wasn’t long. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits and it was incredible! My friends loved their food too. I vegetarian options were many which my friends really enjoyed as well. For the drinks, we got a round of espresso martinis and they were delicious. My second drink, Lemon and Fig drink was really tasty and strong too. We ordered the Dubai chocolate dessert and they also served us coconut bites (?) on the house. Scrumptious!! Great vibe and very friendly waitstaff.

Southern style cooking meets excellent presentation and high end restaurant! Ambiance was fantastic, very class establishment, great for a business dinner but felt like grandmas house (in the best way!) the Love Sampler (charcuterie board) was delicious, the cheeses paired incredibly well with the jams! Make sure to get the hush puppies, served just like mamma would have made! Fried green tomatoes were crispy crunchy packed full of flavor! Salmon was great but I think I will try the specialty fried chicken next time!
Alexander F — Google review
My family of 3 made a reservation for dinner here and had a culinary experience that was truly out-of-this-world delicious. We loved everything we ordered, starting with the Caesar salad, which was fresh and loaded with Parmesan and definitely a favorite of the night. The entrees were all delicious and spoke to the cooks’ skill at combining unique ingredients and flavors to create wildly successful dishes. I got the crispy branzino, which was absolutely delectable, especially when combining all components (hummus, couscous, vegetables, olives, fish) for the perfect bite. My dad got the shrimp and scallop pasta, which had some of the best scallops we’ve ever tried. My mom got the lemon risotto, which was perfectly rich and creamy, though a tad salty for her taste. For dessert, we got the peach and berry cobbler and some delicious complementary fig and oat bars. Everyone loved the cobbler, though the ice cream had a very strong ginger flavor that I ended up not preferring. The service was truly excellent—we were served in a timely manner and our waiter checked on us consistently through the meal. The ambience was also nice and cozy, but it was quite loud and a bit cold on the second floor. Bring a jacket and expect absolutely fantastic food with the most delicious ingredient combinations!

My wife and I had an amazing dinner at The Love this past Friday evening. It was the first time we had went to The Love and could not have been any more pleasantly pleased that we found, The Love. I never expected to walk into a Philly restarurant and sit down to a delicious dinner of Fried Chicken, Grits, Collard Greens, and Corn Bread along with my wife's Shrimp Scampi and Spagetti that all started off with an amazing and well prepared cheese plate. This wall all finished off with a wonderful, Crème brûlée. We personally want to thank our waitress, Dana for being so attentive and providing detailed descriptions of the menu and specials along with the maître d, who unselfishly got down on the floor to retrieve something that had fallen from our table and went under the seats. It was a kind gesture. We will be back. Thank you all for a great time.
Jimmy M — Google review
The place is very nice and quiet inside. They offer drinks, and the service is fast and excellent! I ordered the ravioli ($30 for 6 pieces). They were served with too much sauce, which was a little bit salty. When I started eating, I got heartburn, so I had to remove the ravioli from the sauce before I could eat them. I also ordered the mushroom soup ($15), which was delicious. For vegetarians, there are only two main courses: ravioli and the tofu "steak." Of course, there are also salads. The portions are okay, but not big enough. After having both the soup and the ravioli, I still felt a little hungry. I’m not sure why, but they don’t offer bread as most restaurants do. Especially for the price I paid, I think they should include it. My thoughts:
The restaurant is overpriced, and the portions could be a bit bigger.
Vlad B — Google review
Great menu, food and atmosphere. Good coffee too! Their hours show that they close between lunch and dinner but they don’t. The restaurant remains open and you could still make a reservation or walk in. It’s just that the kitchen briefly closes to switch the menu. They have indoor and outdoor seating options. Perfect for people watching. Great for families and dates and maybe even solo dining.

Lovely dinner at The Love with great service by Jessica. Had a nice roomy quiet table upstairs to celebrate anniversary and very accommodating with gluten free options. Look forward to many future dinners here!

My wife and I had an amazing dinner at The Love. in Philly and we’re still talking about it! The whole experience—from the warm, inviting atmosphere to the beautifully plated dishes—was top-notch We ordered the short rib rigatoni and the seared fish over farro, and both dishes were absolutely incredible. The rigatoni was rich and comforting, with tender chunks of short rib, roasted tomatoes, and crispy onions for texture. The fish dish was next level—perfectly cooked with a delicious crust, served over couscous and veggies with a mix of bright and earthy sauces that brought everything together. Every bite was packed with flavor. I noticed the menu had changed for the better. The presentation alone was worth a shout-out—clean, elegant, and clearly made with care. Service was friendly and the vibe was chill yet upscale—perfect for a date night. We’ll definitely be back. This spot lives up to the hype.

Nestled in a charming corner of Philadelphia, Memphis Taproom is a must-visit for beer enthusiasts and food lovers alike. This pioneering establishment boasts an impressive rotating selection of over 18 beers on tap, complemented by two cask options. The menu is a delightful blend of Southern comfort food with inventive gastropub dishes, ensuring there's something for everyone—including plenty of vegetarian and vegan choices that are surprisingly delicious!
Always a great spot for food and drinks. They have some good Vegan options which makes it a great place for parties with different food needs. They always have Orval cold and ready to serve in the proper glass. A great draft list as well, such as Hillfarmstead Edward.

Came based on a recommendation for the smoked coconut club that someone gave me about 8 years ago, it just took me forever to follow up on. After trying it I'm bummed I waited so long. It's bonkers good, the smoked coconut is savory and fits perfectly on a tofu club. It's unique and done perfectly. Really enjoyed the charred green beans too, char was done well and had a lot of flavor. The beer menu has good variety and great beers. The only ding here is that my partner got the burger and it was drenched in aioli (far more than my club), it was just too much. Still will be coming back to get the club again and have a beer or two.

Memphis Taproom has been one of my favorite places for many years. I have been coming for years. Seen the menu change, tried it all, but two things always remain. The smoked coconut club and the fried pickles. I can’t recommend them enough.

My two adult sons took me to the tap room for my birthday. The atmosphere was laidback, as well as the staff. The food was typical pub food, the cocktails were good and I loved the neighborhood pub atmosphere.

Decent all round neighborhood spot. Update 05/22/18: has a very enjoyable visit with some delicious food in the outside beer garden. Highly recommend this space for any nice summer day/evening. The chicken sandwich was out of this world and I will be ordering it again without question. The port Richmond platter has many great elements that all worked well together.

Great dishes, not the usual bar food. Bit pricey, average dish is $11-14. Large selection of beers with a few cocktails and ciders. Outdoor seating has plenty of shade with a nice breeze and is wheelchair accessible. If you are outside it is dog friendly, more towards the night time after the food is done being served (10-11pm) Meal pictured is the McMemphis chicken sandwich, delish. Paired with their draft cider (blend of dry/sweet)

The Memphis Taproom features old school charm, great drinks and surprisingly delicious food. We tried their Cheesesteak Pierogi's and we're very impressed. Service was great too, if you're in the area, be sure to stop by.

Excellent beer program. Warm and inviting bar with great bartenders and vibe. The fried pickles are so good but you’ll need to split them. A top spot for craft in the city with food to match.
Christopher T — Google review
Always great for brunch or dinner. They have an excellent beer selection, tons of unique vegan and vegetarian options, and their outdoor seating is some of the best in the area. You can bring your dog to the beer garden and we also receive excellent service.
Elizabeth R — Google review
Their dippy sandwich hit the spot on a Sunday morning. Solid beer selection, especially some of the Belgian bottled beers. I watched the eagles opener here and it was very chill for an NFL sunday, so don’t expect a packed and loud crowd if you’re going for a game.

The Royal Tavern is a popular American bar with a diverse drink list and a creative menu. It has been a favorite spot for years, offering fabulous microbrews on draft and a menu featuring bar classics, vegan options, and specials based on farm-fresh ingredients. The kitchen remains open until 1 a.m., allowing guests to enjoy their full menu late into the night.
This may be one of my favorite spots for good food service and drink even before moving back to city. Loved the July hot dog specials and looking forward to next years and the burger is one of best in city for sure. Loved the fries and will be back to try other items including the specials.

Was in South Philly and remembered this place was on the restaurant week list so decided to check it out. The ambiance is really cute. Definitely giving upscale neighborhood bar vibes. The music was also good. We ordered the beet salad and chicken wings for appetizers. For entrees I had the veggie burger and he had the fluke sandwich and we shared some fries. The beet salad was tasty as the beets were roasted well. The veggie burger was also pretty flavorful. My friend said he liked it better than his meal. Unfortunately his food was not seasoned well. Although the chicken wings were fried right they had no seasoning. The fluke was better than the chicken wings but still not seasoned enough. I ordered the vegan dessert which was like a salted carmel pie with peanuts. It was not good and I am a person who loves sweets and desserts. I left it half uneaten. I doubt I would eat here again.

This is a really great neighborhood spot for good drinks, food, and service! There were 6 of us and while they don’t take reservations, we called ahead and they had a table waiting for us when we arrived. Cocktails were creative, draft list was adequate, and we were impressed to see a long list of amari and digestifs as well. The clarified milk punch cocktail was very well balanced and delicious. We split chicken wings, seitan wings, and 3 orders of fries. Both varieties of wings were well-seasoned and crispy. And the FRIES!! They were served with a malt vinegar mayo that was so good! I had the fish sandwich which was quite a generous portion and cooked perfectly. It was served alongside an herby tartar sauce that really complemented the fish. TBH, their sauce game is really on point (the sauces with the wings were also a highlight)! The grilled cheese was perfectly toasted and had the right amount of cheese-to-bread ratio. The burgers received high marks as well from those in our group. Service was very prompt - nothing took longer than 5-10 mins and our waitress was very helpful answering any questions we had. Although we are not in the area often, we would love to come back!

This little hole in the wall off of East Passyunk has all the makings of an English Pub. Big shot out to Jessie the server, she clued me into the best bologna sandwich I have eaten in my life to date. You can’t go wrong with this tavern if you want a nice drink and a good bite. For the vegetarian this is amazing place, the menu will make it feel it was designed primarily for you if that is your preference.

Super awesome restaurant in a great neighborhood! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Fun place to hang with friends and grab drinks and shared apps

Royal Tavern is the epitome of “Don’t judge a book by its cover”. We passed by his place thinking it was just a run of the mill dive bar. We were attracted by how happy everyone looked as they came out. We decided to try it and whoaaaaaa, the drinks? Amazing! The Food? Phenomenal. This is not typical bar food. The cooks are clearly elite. I hope this place never changes.
Juan F — Google review
Definitely overpriced for the portion of food. Our burgers looked kid sized and didn’t even come with a side like other spots for the price. The sauce for the wings were average not tasty. Service was not great, our server did not check on us if we needed anything else and did not provide more water either.
Emely R — Google review
We had a good time at the Royal. It had been a little while since we had last been and it was hopping on a Wednesday night when entered with our group of friends. Food all around was good. We shared pickled eggs (deli shish) and wings were good too. The double burger was tasty but the small diameter patties and I found distracting. With the size of burgers shrinking they don't even ask how you want them any more. My wife's fish sandwich was over done and the fries were overly salty. In the summer heat the raised back of the dining room was warm and commented on by several in our group. Service was friendly and efficient. Cost per person was $44 with two beers ordered between the 5 of us.

Korean restaurant
Restaurant
SouthGate is a trendy gastropub known for its Korean-American fusion cuisine, craft beer, cocktails, and sake. The restaurant has gained popularity for its Korean fried chicken with soy-garlic or spicy gochujang sauce. Their brunch menu features Korean fried chicken and waffles with citrus-chile syrup and honey butter.
The food was very good, I loved the rice cake and sausage skewers. The workers were all very welcoming, they gave me an extra plate of dumplings for free because they made a mistake and apologized a bunch. Moral of the story, good food, good atmosphere, happy me. 😛
Annabelle J — Google review
Been here twice and the food is hit or miss depending on the dish while also being a bit pricey. I would certainly recommend any of the fries as the portions were generous and the flavor did not disappoint. The bao buns are decently flavored but also quite expensive at $5 per bun. The bossam is decent with a fair portion given the price but nothing amazing in terms of taste. The wings portions was small and the galbi jjim was disappointing as it was basically beef bourguignon which I’m not much of a fan of, however the honey roasted pumpkin that it came with was delicious. Overall, it’s a cozy little bar/restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. However, the dishes are pricey while not necessarily all being to my taste. -1 for price, -1 for being hit or miss

Great atmosphere but was a bit crowded. Food was really good! You can also order a dessert which at this time isn't on the menu yet. A citrus Panna cotta which tasted nice.
Akhilesh K — Google review
Cool interior, very bustling, there was a wait so we ate at the bar. Bar tender was very kind Reason I’m giving 4 stars is cause the wait was forever and the Brussel sprouts were overcooked in our opinion, very very heavy charred flavor taking over. Image in there The bar was very good and the sausage was an experiment of mine. Not bad but I am biased against. The cabbage and beef was very good though, we enjoyed that experienced. And the fried wings were great ! I always have to try K fried wings
Christia D — Google review
Bossam for 2 people doesn't look like a very big portion at first, but when you eat it in Korean way (warp the pork with the cabbage leaf with condiments plus kimchi maybe), it is a quite good portion. I would like the pork to be thinner, since it's hard to make it to a ssam but still it is Korean-American style so I think it doesn't need to be super authentic way. Vibe is okay, not too fancy, good for casual dinner or lunch. Cocktails are quite fun, all the names are Korean movies or K-drama titles. Innocent man was good (recommended for alcohol taste lovers) and handmaiden was a bit too fragrant for me but still enjoyable. Sodduksodduk: as a korean it's a bit too pricy but fun to try, why not.

Vegetarian perspective Plenty of options tonight, since they had an anniversary menu, happy hour menu AND the regular menu. Vegetarian options were expected. I got the bimbimbap and split the happy hour banchan with a friend. Happy hour deals were definitely worth it if getting drinks. Bimbimbap was good but I like others in the city better. Overall still a fun night out though and incredible service!
Kimberly M — Google review
1. The food was good and cooked perfectly. The burgers and tacos were tasty but were underwhelming, as it kinda tastes like any other Asian style burger and taco. 2. The staff and service were amazing, quick and efficient with the seating and food. 3. The restaurant’s atmosphere is unique and nice for a group of friends. 4. Happy hour deals are okay, not the best.

A friend and I have been to SouthGate a couple times and will definitely go back soon. This is a great Korean-American gastropub with a delicious food menu and tasty Korean/Asian-influenced cocktails. The service is friendly and super prompt, and the space has a minimalist contemporary vibe that feels warm, friendly, and homey. All in all, SouthGate is a cool and welcoming neighborhood place to frequent solo or with friends.

Wishbone - Center City is a locally focused eatery that offers a new-school spin on the Southern staple of fried chicken. Located in a brick-walled space, it serves craft fried chicken with buttermilk-battered wings featuring a signature pretzel crust and a variety of dipping sauces. The menu also includes mac and cheese, honey buttermilk biscuits, and redneck pecan hand pies for dessert. In addition to its delicious food, Wishbone offers an extensive range of craft beers.

Place was empty on a Thursday night around 6:45pm. I really wanted to like this place but was on the fence. Did half dark and half white meat. The breading on the chicken is a little too crunchy. Pieces are huge. The white meat ones had just come out so were fresher/juicier. The chicken itself did not have that much flavor - which kind of requires you to get one of the sauces, which seems like they want to highlight. Wanted the Mac and cheese, but there was very little left and what was left did not look appetizing at all. The biscuit was dry and tasteless. Price of beers, etc is very reasonable. Counter seating and a couple high top tables to sit at only. Really wanted to like this place but overall it’s just okay.
Ben H — Google review
I love the vibe in here. Huge selection of quality beer if you want to mix & match. The food was good. I got a chicken sandwich and fries. Fries were definitely fresh and delicious. A big portion. Sandwich was good minus the last little stringy bites. The sandwich & ingredients tasted fresh. My only complaint was the stringy chicken. Service was good. Staff was nice. It was a quick turn around. I’d try it again.

Tenders are really crunchy different style but good. White meat ones were really tough dark meat is better. MAC and cheese could be more creamy and less crunchy from undercooked shell’s and overcooked from there Heat lamp. Amazing alcohol selection. Sauces were nothing stevia kind of bland.

I normally don’t write reviews for anything but this experience was egregious. Waited in over an hour plus line and ended up receiving no food. As I got up to the counter thats when they ran out of food but were still preparing to go orders for delivery/doordash it didn’t make sense. They said people behind us probably won’t get food but they said we would. If they said way beforehand that they most likely were going to run out soon as I was towards the back I would have just left. But I decided to miss train to wait it out as it seemed like they were going to sell to everyone. I asked them what they could do for us and they basically just stared at us as if we did not just wait in line for over an hour not to be served.

This place restores my soul! The service is awesome, only to be outdone by their amazing selection of comfort foods. I usually get the chicken tenders and cole slaw or mac&cheese. Homemade baked goods as well! Best I've ever had. Also, they have a well stocked bottle shop with a wide selection of some of the finest craft beers I've seen all in one place. Atmosphere is casual and welcoming! Great location, worth the trip if you're traveling. So much to do in town too.

Bangin Tenders the rest of the food looks good also. They offer white meat or dark meat heavy hitter Chicken Tendies on the go or stand and dine in . Open late , hot good food , quick service too . They also sell beer . One of my favorite late night spots to pop in grab a beer or some chicken or both . Okay draw is the electric outlets used to work and u could charge your phone while eating and having a beer . There are lots . However as of recently none of them work . Besides that place is grade A

Tried getting fried chicken over a salad to balance out with something lighter. Salad had nice fresh veggies but it was ruined by too many sweet toppings and gross syrupy dressing. Totally inedible I picked out the chicken (which was pretty good) but the meal as a whole was pretty disappointing.8 Restaurant was clean, open late, staff were nice. Maybe I’ll try a sandwich or meal one day but it’s too hot right now for something that heavy.

Crunchik’n is a popular spot in Philadelphia known for its Korean-style fried chicken and high-quality ingredients. In addition to their specialty, the menu also features rice bowls, crunch dogs, dumplings, bulgogi, and japchae. Customers have praised the delicious food but noted that the small space can get crowded quickly. Some recommended dishes include the Crunch Dogs and Bulgogi sandwich while cautioning about potential wait times for orders.
This food was delicious. I high recommend the fried dumplings. So good. We stayed the weekend in philly for a convention and ordered from here for dinner. We got a whole fried chicken, fried, a chicken sandwich and a crunch dog. All the food was delivered hot and crispy. They even sent another driver because the first one forgot the crunch dog. Very nice of them. It was alot of food. The whole chicken would have been enough for all of us. The fries were the best. The perfect crisp and crunch. We are definitely eating from here again when we come back.

The food here is solid for the price! The combos offer a good variety, the sides are always bright with notes of sweet/sour/umami to compliment the deep fried items. Several decent sauces, too, but they definitely feel "manufactured." Service it isn't the fastest and the interior isn't the most welcoming, but overall I the food is satisfying, crunchy, and served nice and hot!
Ping R — Google review
We waited almost 30 minutes for an order of Korean corn dog, chicken sandwich, and small fries. Staff seem to prioritize the online orders that come in (which seems to be many). The worker was kind enough to bring our food to the table we were sitting at. While the food is good, I could not get past the fact that they were keeping fried chicken in tins on the shelves in the open that people were constantly walking by. I don’t think I will be returning to this establishment.

Never ate inside store. But ordered for pick up multiple times and it has always been great food. The chicken is crispy and light. The soy garlic flavor is so yummy. The wings are decent size too.

This is currently the only place in Philly I would order fried chicken from! Pro tip: order from it’s website then pick up in person to save wait time.

I’ve been here a few times now and figured it was time to review them. First of all the service each and every time has been fantastic, regardless of how busy they’ve been they always have been friendly and have provided excellent customer service. Now for the food, I have tried a good portion of the menu and all the items I’ve tried have been fresh with excellent flavor/texture combinations. I took 1 star off because on one occasion the crispy rice ball was cold in the center and on another visit the popcorn chicken tasted like burnt fryer oil but this was the exception not the norm and they handled the issues immediately and ensured I was completely satisfied. I could eat here every week!

SOUTH Restaurant & Jazz Club offers a modern twist on Southern cuisine and an extensive selection of whiskey in a trendy setting. The restaurant is known for its incredible brunch and live jazz performances, creating a vibrant atmosphere. Among the Cajun and Creole dishes, the buttermilk fried chicken stands out with its honey drizzle, served alongside creamy turkey collards, drop biscuits, and potato au gratin.
We had another phenomenal experience at South Jazz Kitchen Club! I ordered the buttermilk fried chicken with sweet potatoes and smoked collard greens, while my wife had the smoked jerk turkey wings with creole rice & beans and collard greens. We also shared the mac & cheese and cornbread—everything was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The service was exceptional. We arrived late without a reservation after another restaurant plan fell through, and they still found a way to seat us outside on a beautiful night. The atmosphere was superb—great food, great service, and a warm, welcoming vibe that made for a perfect date night. Every visit here has been consistently excellent, and this one was no exception. South Jazz Kitchen Club always delivers, and I’ll continue to recommend it to anyone looking for amazing food and a great experience in Philly!

I had an amazing experience at South Restaurant in Philadelphia! From start to finish, everything exceeded my expectations. The ambiance was everything!!!!! The cornbread was absolutely unforgettable; warm, buttery, and packed with flavor. The chicken was seasoned down to the bone, so much so that at one point I felt like I was back home in Jamaica enjoying a home cooked meal. On top of the incredible food, the service was top-notch. My server, Markeith, was a true gem; attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect. South Restaurant is definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious food and great vibes in Philly!

This place is amazing! The service from the greeter, bartender, and management were stellar. We had a curated, private dinner here. Everything was delicious from the drinks, appetizers, main entrées, and dessert. The ambiance is EVERYTHING! Highly recommend. This was the best food and service I received the entire week in Philadelphia. The mushrooms stuffed with greens and vegetarian jambalaya were my favorites. If you're ever in Philly, you gotta check this gem out!

We were there for dinner and the jazz concert. Both were outstanding! The venue for music was really good. The acoustics were great and although our table was about as far from the stage as possible we could see and hear everything quite well. The food was great! We started with the skillet cornbread. 😋 Sweet, buttery, hot. Yum! Between us we ordered the jambalaya, 2 duck breasts, and the turkey wings. Everyone cleared their plates.🦃🦆🍗😋 Our server was very attentive, helpful, and friendly. Overall, it was an great experience and we will DEFINITELY return for dinner and a show!

Made a reservation for the live show Friday night at 7pm dinner starting at 615pm. Honestly the vibe was excellent, people were dressed nicely, happy, having a good time, and the food was excellent. Perfect for date night and splitting a bottle of wine. Cozy and friendly atmospere. I wish we were hungry enough for dessert. We got cornbread which was perfectly fluffy, a little sweet, and had a very nice crispy top that im still wondering how they got. Maybe the salamander. Shrimp and grits and the jambalaya. Grits were to die for. Jambalaya perfectly spicy but not too much for a white boy. You know you are in a place that is confident in their seasoning when there's no salt or pepper on the table. The musicians were funny, entertaining, and a delight to watch. Im not a huge music guy but my foot was a tappin. Would go back again for a date night.

Hatch & Coop is a delightful counter-serve eatery that specializes in creative hot and cold sandwiches, alongside fresh salads, sides, and sweet treats. This charming spot has transformed from its previous identity into a vibrant chicken and egg haven under the guidance of owner Gary Dorfman. With a menu featuring fluffy egg sandwiches, crispy pickle-brined chicken options, an enticing eggplant sandwich, and crunchy fried chicken salad, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Not the most cozy dining room but the food is great, especially if you're eating high protein/low carb. Recommend the steak and eggs bowl (no bread), with onions, cheese and hatch sauce.

I really want to like this place, because their food has been much needed in the late hours while in center city. Unfortunately, after a few typical visits, my most recent order had a large piece of plastic wrapped up in my chicken wrap. It was the night of the eagles win so I’m giving the kitchen staff the benefit of the doubt - and I couldn’t wait around to have them remake it since we already waited 30 mins and I’d miss my train home. That being said, I alerted management the next day and have yet to hear anything back. The plastic in my chicken wrap has definitely left me feeling uneasy returning, especially with no accountability from the management.
Sienna A — Google review
Ordered the food for delivery through Grubhub and it was the worst food we’ve ever had. Don’t waste your time or money. The sandwich and wrap was prepared wrong. The serving sizes are abysmal. The popcorn chicken was dry and chewy. The fries were cold and stale. Grease dripping off of everything but somehow everything was still cold? Also don’t waste your money on paying for the sauces. They were a knockoff brand of the sauces you’d expect from a Burger King and had no flavor. Don’t be fooled, the picture shows two orders of popcorn chicken. Absolute waste and extremely disappointing!
Julia H — Google review
Their "grilled" chicken which they charged an extra $1 for tasted like a processed piece of meat, not a fresh piece of chicken. It was dry but luckily the coleslaw and pickle made up for that. Even ketchup was an upside "sauce". The people behind the counter were very disconnected and didn't even say hello. You ordered via a touch screen and never spoke with a person.
Cori F — Google review
Who hyped this place up? I went at 1030p Friday night. I had heard great reviews, but it was just a sandwich. The kiosk should be updated. I couldn't tell if the sandwich was asking to add extra toppings or we had to pay for the toppings. Either way it was a decent sandwich and if the other restaurants are closed, I'd visit again. I appreciated the location and late night hours too.

If I could give a zero I would. This place was horrible and fries hardly had any in bag. What was in there was grease. Popcorn chicken burnt and salad well. The lettuce looked old. No parmesan cheese and the grilled chicken looks like it was sitting in the freezer for about three months before they grilled it. I could’ve swore seeing the girl drop something and pick it back up and put in the fryer. Nightmare. 34.00 dollars never again

First time in Philly, got an overnight flight and knew it was way too early to check in, so I tried to look around and see what was open + walking distance to my hotel. Randomly came across Hatch & Coop and I could not have had better luck in finding it. Not only is this spot open 24/7, but it was quiet, clean, and had a fun theme. Right away, the food looked good and the staff (Keith) were incredibly friendly and informative about the food/my options for the order. He also gave me some cool local info that, as an out of towner, I definitely appreciated. Even though the food looked really good, it didn't prepare me for how spectatcular it actually tasted. I ordered a larger size to save half for later in the day, but I was quickly reconsidering. The sandwiches are tasty enough on their own, but the house sauce is a great thing to throw on if you want a little extra something. When I'm traveling, I almost never go back to the same spot for food twice, but with a place like this so close to my hotel, I just might.
Michael R — Google review
Was recommended by this place by coworkers so I finally went inside and order the sandwich the sandwich that I ordered you could not make changes to. using your typical touch screen display to order food I couldn't add things to my order. I had to argue with the attendant to get him to make changes and each thing he added charged me an extra $0.50 or so so my $12 burger went from $12 to 24.03. if you're looking for convenience on a place that's open 24 hours cool but outside of that for all that I will just go to Wawa. I'll attach a picture of my receipt.

She was friendly, knowledgeable, and super helpful with the menu. As out-of-towners, we really appreciated her local tips on Philly highlights, too! Now the food… wow. Every single bite was delicious. We ordered the Lobster Roll Bites from the day’s special menu and they were incredible—I was tempted to order a second round! The burger was juicy and cooked to perfection, and the fish and chips were spot-on. Plus, the fresh-cut fries? Major win in my book! The drinks were just as amazing—crafty, tasty, and definitely worth it. Thank you for making our anniversary so memorable. We’ll absolutely be back next time we’re in town!

This after the meal but the short ribs was not tender, the food is well seasoned although there was a different taste with the gravy on the dish. Small menu but it's not bad just don't expect to get a lot of things, the greens were ok.. corn bread was amazing.. the fish was well seasoned but wasn't made correctly after two attempts.. it was corrected on the bill but would like to get the order right without interruption to dinner. Overall it was an average experience i would try their brunch but I'm out on dinner though.

A great Black-owned business in West, and had lots of good options for brunch. The staff was friendly and the food came out quick even with my large party. I ordered a breakfast burrito and it was mostly egg. I wished it came with a sauce other than ketchup but it was fine. The pancake was the star of the show by a long shot. Everyone MUST try!!! The outside was super crispy and the flavor was great.

Whenever I step into Booker’s I know it’s going to be a great time. From the inviting atmosphere to the amazing staff. I’ve never once left disappointed. The music is always a joy in company with the outstanding food. If you haven’t had the deviled eggs and the salmon bites you’re missing out! Please order it! My mom and I have made amazing memories at this restaurant and I couldn’t be more grateful for Booker’s and what they’ve done for the community. Also, a special thank you to our server, Lourd who was phenomenal with assisting us through the night! We appreciate you!

It was a wonderful experience from the moment we walked in until we left. It felt like being welcomed by family. Service was fast and the wait staff was friendly. The isn't huge but offers something for every taste. I had fried calamari and the fish and chips. Everything was seasoned well, light and not greasy. The bands added to so much fun to the experience. I can't say enough about how good of an experience we had!

I took my mother here for her birthday and this was our first time at Bookers. The food and the drinks were amazing and the presentation of the dishes left nothing to be desired. The waiters and the bartender exemplified what great service should be. We had brunch, but we will be back for dinner very soon!!

Came here after chilling pool side with my coworker. It was exactly what I was looking for on a gorgeous sunny Saturday! Loved the atmosphere, hospitality from my bar tender “Shar“ 🥰 & the delicious food! Me & my coworker where blown away by this place. I came to this place looking for brunch & mimosas. To be honest In short, I got that and so much more. My bar tender was very attentive and detailed. All the workers where singing classic R&B songs that played in the background. The bar was clean & cozy. Atmosphere dimly lit and chill. Outdoor seating available. There was fresh flowers out on the tables. A man in a suit constantly checking on guest to make sure we where happy and content. In other words I HIGHLY RECOMMEND 🥂😍🌹Absolutely will be back soon! Run quick & tell a friend!

Passage Theatre held our annual staff retreat at Booker's today and the food was AMAZING! Delicious, seasoned well, great portions and just a fun time as we gathered for a much needed team building day as we go into our 41st season. Not one bite wasted! We started with appetizers Crispy Brussels Sprouts and the black eye pea hummus and for my meal, I had the Tofu Scramble. I love good eating, especially when there's a variety of options as we had someone in our group who is a vegetarian. Thank you and we'll be back for sure!

Royal Farms is a chain of gas stations and convenience stores known for its breakfast sandwiches, deli items, and especially its fried chicken. Many people rave about the quality of their fried chicken, making it a must-try for visitors. The impact of good management is evident from customer experiences, as highlighted by the positive influence of former manager Patricia. However, some customers have noticed a decline in service quality after her departure.
Its a great location with Tesla chargers but store is unclean. I was able to get my tea and they have plenty of snacks and drinks. Very crowded and lines to check out Bathroom are there but again unsanitary conditions I have to stop here as Tesla charging available

Worst one I've ever been to. The staff has the personality of a bag of rocks. Management or whatever that is the worst. I ordered fried chicken was told the oil was fresh. I got in my car was smelling it. Decided to taste it. Take like nothing but re cooked chicken in old oil. The real messed up part was i was told to wait for it for 20 minutes and that was the finish product. Worst place ever. It needs to close down!!!!!

I have been coming here for years, ever since it opened. I used to come to this location every morning, and sometimes in the afternoon. I ordered food just about every time. I am at the point where I really don’t even want to stop to buy gas if I need to go inside. I deleted their app, I don’t even want the points. The turnover on the employees is insane… that tells you all you need to know. The attitude is horrible, trying to pay cash is the biggest inconvenience to whoever is working the register. The food is horrible. It used to be awesome… now it is about as fresh as sewage water on a 100 degree day. Last week I couldn’t buy cigarettes because my ID wouldn’t scan for some reason, even though my valid state ID says I am 40 years old. I was told its not possible to purchase cigarettes without scanning an ID, and when I said this is the first time I was carded since the place opened, I was told I was wrong. Last time I was there, I had to receive $9 change in COINS because they didn’t have $1s or $5s. When I offered to give her another $1 so my change would be $10 and I could get a $10 bill back instead of a sack of coins, she couldn’t comprehend the complex mathematics required to achieve this. And dont even get me started on the trash and how filthy. I am not alone in this, there are countless comments saying the same. This place needs to be shut down.

It's a road stop. Has a variety of items to eat, snack and drink. Beer ok, and some small bottles, also alcohol slushies. The chicken is decent and rolls or biscuits. The ready made milkshake was OK too. Depending on the time characters can be around like and convenience store. It clean and well lit inside. Had a clerk upsell me some items while helping me use the electronic order board. But I got it now.

The employees are good but first time I came here at night cause was hungry and had to wait 1 hour for my order cause the system don't show my order and at the end they had to change my burger cause didn't have what I ask an hour ago. Unbelievable

You stop to charge and want to make the most of your time, so you go to the bathroom, buy something, and leave. But it turns out that in this place, you have to wait 5 minutes for someone to open the bathroom door. So now I charge and cross over to Wawa, go to the bathroom, and don't need to ask anyone to open the door. I buy something and leave, relaxed.

My husband purchased chicken at Royal Farms, ARAMINGO AVE, PHILA, PA on Monday, May 12, 2025. The chicken was so dry, overcooked- I felt like I was eating mummified chicken. We are very disgusted that after a long days work, this is what they would serve us for our hard earned money.

My husband and I went to royal farms for the very first time. When we came home we noticed the stickers with the preparing times on the sides and soups. On every container there was a sticker over an older sticker. The mashed potatoes were supposed to be prepared an hour ago. The sticker under that sticker said it was prepared two days earlier. Same with soups, chili and mac and cheese...

Restaurant
Clarkville is a corner bar in the neighborhood of Clark Park, offering a variety of wines and beers on tap along with snacks. The restaurant is known for its innovative pizza flavors like eggplant with black kale and walnut pesto or pork roll. It also offers lighter salad options and wine on tap. Situated across from Clark Park, it's designed to be a family-friendly spot with a solid bar for adults and a good kids menu.
Food We sampled Sal’s Famous pie, Clarkville Hot Chicken, a vegetarian pasta, and a charcuterie appetizer. Each dish was bursting with flavor and a true delight. These are all items we would eagerly reorder on our next visit. We also enjoyed a selection of drinks, including a specialty draft beer, a bottled beer, and a few cocktails. The restaurant offered some outstanding low-sugar cocktail options, which we greatly appreciated. Service Our waitress was attentive and accommodating during our meal. She ensured our drinks were always filled and provided extra napkins, condiments, and take-out boxes without us having to ask. Atmosphere The dining area was small yet cozy and thoughtfully designed. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and look forward to returning.

As soon as i walked in they told me it would be a 45 minute wait yet I overheard them telling others it would be a 10 minute wait. Then the host/waiter asked me what I wanted and didn’t even give me a menu. I saw one of the waiters running around and asked her if they had any mock-tails or 0% Beers or Wine and she said no and told me they had soda and to check over at the wall…and walked away…She never said anything else to me. I watched the initial host greet, sit, offer drinks, have casual conversation, and deliver food to multiple people and not once did he acknowledge me until the pizza was almost ready and even then no one offered me a glass of water. Many people came in after me and got their pizzas and food before me after I watched the host/waiter take their order. Later on, he did apologize for the quality and lack of service. I explained to him that I’ve ordered from them on Door Dash and loved the “Peppe Le Bleu” pizza and wanted to simply experience it fresh out of the oven. The experience was pretty disheartening but I’ll accept the fact that maybe everyone was flustered and potentially understaffed…so I appreciate the apology but still needed to be transparent on my experience. When I walked in there were many open seats inside and outside, so I’m not really sure why they told me before I even got a menu that it would be a 45 minute wait, especially when others came in after me and got their stuff before me. Outside of the bad service, the “Peppe Le Bleu” pizza that I ordered was AMAZING and hands down the best rendition of a Pepperoni Pizza I’ve had in West Philly…Safe to say, if I ever eat from there again it’ll be ordered on a delivery app rather than dining in.

The pizza and salad were pretty good. They seem to have a good selection of craft beers. Unfortunately the vegetarian carbonara was terrible. The pasta was extremely over cooked and mushy. I would avoid all the pasta on the menu, but I think the main draw here is the pizza anyway. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible via a ramp which is great. However most of the seating is bar stools at the bar and around the windows. If you’re disabled, call the restaurant first to see if normal dining tables are available.

The bartender Jamie was super helpful and kind enough to take my order while I had my dog on a leash. Wait time was reasonable, while I waited for my pizza (ordered the Diablo Pizza with Pepperoni…I’m gonna give it a 8/10). The service from Jamie was phenomenal & above and beyond…I received a cold cup with ice water because I was outside waiting hence I had the dog. The pizza was ok…I don’t think it was worth the price but the service made up for it…I will be back without the dog :)

This was our first visit to this establishment. The pizza selection is quite extensive, with many options available for vegans. The atmosphere is spacious and inviting. Although the space is not very large, it is well utilized. Our server, Haley, promptly greeted us upon arrival and provided linen napkins and silverware. She offered us drinks, including water with slices of lemon and lime. The drink menu includes a variety of options, from cocktails to wines. After much deliberation, we decided to order the vegan white pie, which was topped with kale, shiitake mushrooms, onions, housemade tofu, ricotta cheese, and vegan mozzarella. The pie arrived within 12 to 15 minutes of placing our order. The thin, crusty crust was generously topped with cheese, mushrooms, and kale. While we found the pizza to be delicious, we felt that it could benefit from a touch more seasoning. We also ordered a side of hot honey, buffalo sauce, and garlic for added flavor. The medium-sized pie proved to be quite satisfying for the two of us, with a diameter of approximately 12 inches. Despite feeling full, we couldn't resist ordering a dessert. To our surprise, they offered vegan options, including freshly made donut holes made from pizza dough and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. These treats were served with a delightful caramel dipping sauce. The ambience of the restaurant was delightful, with light and relaxing music playing in the background. The service provided by Haley was very good, and we look forward to returning to sample more of their menu offerings.

Didn’t want to write a negative review but felt we should give some feedback. $24 and change for this 😞 We ordered a large and this is what we were given. Didn’t take a photo at the beginning because I wasn’t planning on writing a review but we were so displeased eating it that I decided to take this photo to share. Dough was still chewy, not cooked enough. This is supposed to be a loaded veggie pizza. We asked for real (dairy) cheese when we ordered, were surprised to find a few shavings of parmesan cheese. We called to ask where the mozzarella was and were told that only comes with the vegan/vegetarian mozzarella option. What? This is a vegetarian pizza. That was not communicated to us when we ordered. No apology given for not clarifying when we ordered. Or about not putting all the greens on one side as we had asked so that my grandfather could eat it. The menu isn’t clear. Service could be friendlier and more attentive. Felt like they were skimping on ingredients and the flavor was not good. I had a few good bites of eggplant and broccoli rabe. If we were in the restaurant we would have sent it back. (My aunt said definitely send it back. Writing on behalf of my family lol.) Honestly I would be embarrassed if I had made this for a family dinner.

I’d give this a 5/5 for the pizza but the other dishes were disappointing (2/5 max) but -1 star only seeing as pizza is their main thing. I got the Johnny Hots pizza and that was excellent. Great flavors and the crust was perfect to my liking - chewy and fluffy! The peppers were actually spicy (yay) and the pork was good too. I also got the hot chicken salad and that was pretty bad. Way too much dressing, very very greasy chicken, and absolutely NO spiciness. I’d go back for the pizza, for sure, but don’t get the hot chicken! My friends got the hot chicken sandwich and the sriracha honey pizza and they loved the pizza and said that the sandwich was ‘good.’

Fried chicken takeaway
Redcrest Fried Chicken is a laid-back counter-serve spot in Greater Philadelphia's East Passyunk Avenue. Chef Adam Volk brings his Brooklyn expertise to this fast-casual joint, offering buttermilk-brined fried chicken in traditional and spicy curry varieties. The menu includes fluffy biscuits, sides like fries, slaw, and corn pudding, as well as an array of dipping sauces. Customers rave about the delicious and perfectly cooked chicken with its crispy exterior.
Absolutely delicious!! Quality food! The chicken was yummy and cooked to perfection with that crispy outside that you expect to find in fried chicken. We ordered delivery and spent around $90 because we wanted to try a little of everything. We got the Drive Thru chicken sandwich (pictured), the BBQ chicken sandwich, fries, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, popcorn chicken, biscuits (be sure to drizzle some honey on them omg), and a whole fried bird (also pictured). Everything was so good, we have found our new fried chicken spot for sure! We look forward to our next order. Both my husband and son, who are picky, enjoyed everything as well. So Well done Redcrest!

Order arrived by bike 20 minutes before promised that was the only plus. The biscuits were doughy, as if cooked in the microwave. The chicken had feathers in each of the 4 pieces. The mashed potatoes were over salted, the Cole slaw was inedible and tasteless. The chicken was soooooooaked in grease... See it glistening? And the popcorn chicken was grease soaked, halfcooked pieces of chicken thigh meat that tastes spoiled. This was my first and only order and it cost over $40 and I still have to get dinner. Inedible. The 2nd star is because they were so fast with delivery.

Very disappointed that I had to trash my lunch. Ordered the chicken sandwich for the first time since the last place and it was undercooked. Took my first bite and realized that the texture was not right. It was pink and bloody. Tried calling the restaurant but no answer. Left a voicemail too. 🤷 Used to love the chicken sandwiches back when it was at East Passyunk.

The shop is super small. They only have room for like 4 people to eat in. So if you’re a group, order out! But for a small place they pack a big punch of flavors. I had their vegan version of the redcrest burger and it was delicious. From beginning to end, fries were delicious as well. But the price is a little inflated in all seriousness. Oh and you have to pay for the honey dip for the biscuit, I’d understand if it was for an extra sauce but I don’t make the rules.

Way better than KFC. Outer texture is crispy while inside is moist and juicy. Have their own dipping sauses and sides are pretty decent. Popcorn chicken is larger than normal ones from KFC. Plus they deliver. I had the buttermilk. Now ready for the spicy. Check them out when you have a chance.

Chicken restaurant
Restaurant
Redcrest Kitchen, located in Queen Villages, has recently transitioned from experimental cuisine to a menu focused on comfort food. The restaurant offers a variety of sandwich options, including four fried chicken choices and a flavorful smash burger. A standout dish is the half fried chicken, which is brined in buttermilk for 24 hours and then pressure-fried to achieve an incredibly crispy texture and perfect seasoning. The dining experience at Redcrest Kitchen is described as fun, playful, and savory.
We tried 2 different kinds of chicken sandwiches for lunch for our first visit. Both were perfectly seasoned and delicious. I appreciated that they offered a salad as an alternative to fries. The chicken was as tasty as we had heard. The restaurant has a relaxed, cozy vibe. The service was welcoming and attentive. They offer a different special every day, with family-friendly options. On a return visit with family, we had the blueberry pancakes. The pancakes are delicious but 1 order would feed 3 people or provide leftovers for a family breakfast.

Fun, playful, savory. From the pickled vegetables to the beef Tatar everything was delectable. The pasta dishes were outstanding, unlike anything I’ve ever tried. Their sauces were deep with flavors, but not heavy. A true fine dining experience right off of South Street but without prices to make you cry. Not your traditional Italian joint; just wonderful creative inspired dishes with personality in every bite. Honestly some of the best dishes I have ever tried. The chefs here are true artists and balance delicate flavors with bold highlights without overpowering each other. Come with good company and enjoy great dishes in a cozy atmosphere. (Parking can be tricky - near south street but worth walking a few blocks.)

I absolutely love the food at Red Crest, especially their chicken—it’s incredible! I really want this place to be successful because it has so much potential. However, the last couple of times I’ve been there have left me a bit concerned. During my most recent visit, I unfortunately saw multiple mice running around the restaurant. In fact, there were three of them wandering around, which was just too much to ignore. I brought it to the attention of our server, but the response was less than reassuring. The server barely acknowledged the issue, offering only a quick “sorry” and then walking away without any indication that they were taking steps to address the situation or even get an exterminator involved. It was honestly disappointing because it’s hard to enjoy the meal when something like that is going on in the background. I hate having to leave this review because I genuinely love the food and the vibe of Red Crest, but I really hope they can address this situation and work towards making the environment as good as their food. I want to continue supporting this place, but for now, I’m not sure I’ll be back until I feel confident that these issues have been resolved.

This place is FANTASTIC!!!! One of our new favorite places to dine in Philly. All the dishes are bright, creative and delicious- the pictures tagged say it all. The chicken liver toast is a must, such a unique take on typical liver toast. Also, the proteins are cooked to perfection every time. The veggie based apps are always so bright and refreshing as well. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for this place as more people discover it!

Korean restaurant
Mr. Andy's Chicken is a Korean-style chicken restaurant that offers delicious side dishes and menu combos, making it a perfect spot for saving time and money. The new owners have improved the food quality, with nicely cooked chicken and crispy fries and onion rings. While the extra-thick, double-fried chicken crust is missed from the old Andy's, Mr. Andy's still provides a nice crunch that holds up well to wet sauces. The bulgogi is also highly recommended.
I visited Andy’s for a quick weekend dinner when I was in the area. It’s a fast casual setup with a good amount of seating inside. The employee at the register did a great job answering any questions that I had. I placed my order for a Honey Garlic Half Chicken and some Spicy Fries. The food came out in less than 15 minutes, which I thought was very reasonable for made to order items. The meal was excellent; every part of it was great quality. The chicken maintained exceptional crunch and while still having a generous coating of sauce. Both the light and dark meat were tender. The Honey Garlic sauce had the perfect balance of sweet and savory garlic flavors. The Spicy Fries were also cooked to perfection with a delicious spice blend seasoning them. My experience at Andy’s was great. Both the food and service are great quality. The eating area is clean and well-maintained. I recommend this spot to anyone in the area and can definitely see myself returning in the future.

I think this is my first time getting food from here and it’s actually really good. I have Korean friends so I’ve eaten a lot of bulgogi in my life and this is just as good as any other Korean place I’ve gone to. I assumed my nephews would like the one with no sauce so I got that and they actually enjoyed the ones with so I feel like I made a mistake. I ordered Korean sweet chili and that was really good and honey garlic and also very good. I got the bulgogi rice bowl. My only complaint was the egg was hard boiled so the yolk was all in it and I didn’t love that. But overall I think it’s 5 stars because that was really my only problem. The sides are very small too I guess that’s another complaint because the size of the side is a small at like McDonalds probably. Like a little paper bag. All in all very good and I would go back again for sure And also the girl who answered the phone just said “hello” and that was it. Didn’t state what the place was or anything Just wasn’t the best communicator to be the one who answers the phone. She answered it when I was in front of her too and said hello again so it’s just what she does

Came by for a quick lunch grab and go and was pleasantly surprised. The sweet potato fries were very greasy and soggy. I want to say that’s because they were in a bag for 15 minutes until I got back to my office. Will not be ordering that again. The chicken was perfect ✅ Nice crunch around the outside and soft on the inside. The seasoning was perfect. Sweet Thai chili sauce was just right. Definitely order the chicken if you’re coming here. My picture is the aftermath instead of the pretty beginning like every other picture lol

$$ just save your money, bland hard chicken, double fried with kind of tempura batter. Some of our chicken was really dark like old. And that was a chicken breast. We got the family special that had four sides and one side wasn't even enough for one person, we put the sauce on the side but the sauces were so little you lucky you had enough for one piece of chicken. Fries were regular sweet potato fries were okay onion rings had five onion rings in that tempura batter coleslaw was not very good at all. The only parking is meter parking around so you have to pay to park. I'm not sure how this place made my list but what a disappointment I've just saved you time and lots of money. If you do decide to try I would suggest the lunch special before 3:00 it might be worth it. I may be a little picky but I've eaten fried Chicken All My Life coming from the south and from businesses like Federal donuts to shaded Maple with Amish fried Chicken this place does not even compare.

The Fat Ham, a Southern small plates restaurant by Kevin Sbraga, offers cleverly crafted barrel-aged cocktails in a retro-rustic setting. The menu features items like hot chicken and oyster sliders with coleslaw. It's recommended to call ahead due to potential wait times. The restaurant is known for its extra-juicy and extra-spicy fried chicken served on ranch-covered bread. Customers praise the Sunday supper special and great cocktails, while also noting the extensive whiskey selection.
Food is off the hook especially the hot chicken. Great quality, good service, and decent but small beer selection. Not my thing but enormous whiskey selection. Small place, pretty easy to get a walk in for 6 on a summer Saturday night but imagine the wait would be long when Drexel and Penn classes start. Highly recommended

Amazing sunday supper special! Great cocktails! We had the mook mule, and it was sooo tasty. The food was great from start to finish. The servers were on top of every course. I would highly recommend and I'm definitely going back! I didn't care too much for the banana bread/cake thing at the end. I thought that could have been better but for a 9 course gourmet meal for $30 you can't complain much I guess. A+++

That time kind of deserves a response like that, but it's not like it was 10:45PM or something, and to be fair, I asked if I should even sit down because I've worked at a restaurant before and I know it is a pain for that one person to come in so late, kind of late. I was creating the space for honesty. He said to have a seat. I should have turned away when I had the chance. I felt like everything I was eating was the left overs from the day. Which, again, I don't mind that, like I mentioned, I've worked at a restaurant before. But what gets me is for a place claiming to be Southern, there was not an ounce of southern hospitality during my whole time there, what I mean is the service was poor, dry and non-exist. If you guys didn't want me there you should have just said so actively when I asked if I should take a seat rather than locking up the chairs outside and all the rest you when when you close down a restaurant I wanted to sit out there with a drink too. It was just awkward and I wish I didn't go there, which is not how you are suppose to feel when leaving a restaurant. And...I live in the south and I didn't get "Southern" food, but this critique is more about the service than its food.

My son and I saw Kevin Spraga win Top Chef. His second restaurant will not disappoint. The food is fabulous. My son said the Hot Chicken was the best chicken he ever had. Everything is delicious!
Gina A — Google review
Fried carb overload!!! But it was phenomenal! A quarter chicken fried with a wonderfully crunchy coating and then dredged in a hot concoction, help me, oh it was so good. Well, this tasty viddle was placed atop a slice of homemade white bread that had a ranch dressing covered with pickles. When the bar tender said white bread, I cringed. But, since it home made, it wasn't processed in a bakery, so I felt a smidge better. Eaten together, the bread, ranch, pickle and crunch were enough to bring on the food dance and make you hum, mmm mmm mmmm. Okay, I'm almost done...ordered another tasty bourbon sassafrass thingey cause the fire from the chicken was intoxicattingly hot. Dessert was a sliver of buttermilk cheese cake served with fragrant blackberries. The venue is cozy and the dishes are mismatched or slices of logs. My Fat Ham experience all by myself was wonderful! The Fat Ham is okay for vegetarians too, despite the name.
Tracey R — Google review
A laughable attempt at southern dining. And I think it's because people in philadelphia have a skewed understanding of decency and hospitality so it isn't necessarily the restaurant's fault. Ridiculously long wait. Needless to say, I've given up on food in this city in general. It simply CAN'T get any worse. LOL

American restaurant
White Dog Cafe University City is a lively eatery with a dog-themed ambiance, offering contemporary American cuisine made from locally sourced ingredients. Established in 1983, it has become a beloved community spot known for its fresh, made-from-scratch dishes and warm, dog-friendly decor. The menu features creative brunch options like Churros waffles and Scrapple & Biscuits.
We caught the first day of summer brunch! We started off light with a cheeseboard, mushroom soup, and a cozy breadbasket. Simple things can be hard to get right, but the soup was smooth and satisfying, the cheeseboard was fresh and balanced, and the cornbread was absolutely perfect. Service was prompt and thoughtful without being overbearing, and we lucked out by arriving during a quieter moment. For the main course, classic steak and scrambled eggs and a hearty breakfast pot pie ( I swear it was a mini casserole dish!) paired with a “Puppy Power” mocktail and a fragrant cup of Earl Grey. All in all, it was a fantastic afternoon!

It’s been a number of years since my last visit to the White Dog but it was a wonderful experience. Friendly staff and an amazing atmosphere filled with unique details that you’ll enjoy with your friends. Farm to table selection, we had the lunch specials of soup and sandwich. Mushroom soup was excellent, served with a dollop of cream and a slight hint of sherry which I really enjoyed. I had the country ham, cheese and egg on sourdough bread, requested the eggs scrambled which they did for me. It came with a side salad with a nice lite vinaigrette. Themed rooms for seating in this charming historical row home near U Penn. Looking forward to visiting again.

Came here for lunch on a Tuesday. The food and service were decent. We didn’t make reservations and the host added another chair to a 2-top for our party of 3 even though there were plenty of empty 4-top tables. I understand doing this if they’re busy but they weren’t. Another issue is that we were seated next to a water/server station and two servers next to us were discussing at length who wanted to serve our party, and it sounded like neither of them wanted to for whatever reason. Because of this, it took awhile to be acknowledged and get water. I found this to be unprofessional. The restrooms really need to be deep cleaned. Each of them reeked of stale urine. They’re very small and cramped as well. The restrooms alone would prevent me from returning here. Hopefully the management team reads these reviews and addresses these issues.

Review – White Dog Café (Philadelphia) White Dog Café, located near UPenn, is a beautiful and inviting restaurant with a cozy yet elegant atmosphere —perfect for a nice lunch or dinner with friends or family. The interior is spacious, stylish, and full of character, with plenty of seating and a warm vibe. I ordered the ribs with rice, which were amazing —tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The truffled fries were another highlight: crispy, aromatic, and seriously addictive. Everything felt fresh and well-prepared, showing real attention to detail in the kitchen. The staff was excellent, friendly and professional, and the service was smooth despite how busy the place can get. The only downside is that prices are on the higher side, though the quality and overall experience justify it. 📍 Conclusion: White Dog Café is a fantastic spot near UPenn that combines great food, attentive service, and a charming atmosphere. A bit pricey, but well worth it for the quality and experience. ⭐ Overall rating: 9/10 🍖 Best: the ribs and truffled fries. 💸 Worst: prices on the high side. 🍷 Price: elevated, but fair for the quality and setting.

I am so pleased with my experience at this establishment. I last minute had to change my party number from 6 to 10, and not only were they super accommodating, but they put us in a lovely private room. Despite having such a large party, they brought out the food quickly and efficiently. I got the cinnamon sugar waffles with peach compote and it was phenomenal. Our waitress went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our meal. Such a lovely experience overall.

We began our long weekend in University City with lunch at the White Dog Cafe. The bright and ample space, set in three Victorian brownstones, was very comfortable, easy to converse in and the decor really embodied a sophisticated rustic charm. We began our meal with cocktails and an Artisan Cheese Plate which was accompanied by fruit, nuts, pickles, crusty bread and the most delicious strawberry and apricot spreads. The cheese selections were unique and very tasty! Definitely a must have as an appetizer or a nosh with cocktails. For our mains, we selected the Spicy Lamb Bolognese and the Impossible Patty Melt. The lamb ragu was very flavorful and the pasta was perfectly cooked. The Impossible Patty Melt was well cooked and the star of the show was the smoky onion jam and spicy pickles. This was a perfect intro to the foodie scene in and about the University City area. The staff was warm and friendly and the overall vibe makes it easy to linger long after the meal is done.

Do you like dogs? Then you’ll love the dog-themed decor. The farm-to-table food was really good. My son had the lamb bolognese and I had the salmon kebabs over couscous. I love tequila, so I ordered the mezcal XOLove. The tasty drink came with an ice cube imprinted with a dog. Nice touch! Our server was Eliza, and she was great. It’s a fun place to dine. They have a private area for small gatherings and the downstairs room is decorated in military dogs. This would be a great place to hold a medium-sized event.

Was in UPenn for a match and decided to grab a quick brunch. I love the dog theme and the inside was extremely cozy. Everything on the menu looked delicious and ended up deciding on their pumpkin churro french toast. It was delectable! I would love to come back to try their other creative menu items.

Came here while I was in town in Philly with one of my best friends after seeing a Instagram reel! The atmosphere of the place has a really cute vibe (the aesthetics are 10/10)! The women at the stand were very personable and accommodated us wanting to sit in one of the “pod” seating along the wall! We got the crab fried rice which was delicious! However, the drinks were a little disappointing.

Waitress was great! Personality, very informative. I love the atmosphere & menu options. Bartender was great. We were celebrating my daughter birthday, they came out with an extra dessert & surprised her.

Loved our Happy Hour visit! We enjoyed Spicy Tuna Roll, Butter Krab Roll, and Philadelphia Roll, which were excellent. The Butter Krab especially surprised. We also enjoyed the Pork Belly Raman and the Beef. The fun modern yet retro vibe was cool. Service was great. Definitely recommend.

I really enjoy Pod! We've gone twice now and we've really enjoyed our meals and time spent. For food I highly recommend the crab croquettes, chicken wings, crab fried rice, tuna nachos, just to name a few! The staff is pleasant, laid back, and politely and swiftly remedies any issues. All in all, I'd highly recommend. Wish I had taken more photos but was too busy eating!

This is a perfect place for drinks/ friends gathering, because they have great atmosphere and excellent service! As we know it’s a Korean fusion but they don’t have so much options on the menu and the prices are slightly high. The urchins tasted bitter and I expected high quality due to that price. The beef tartare and seafood(crab) pancakes were very salty which we could not finished. A small bowl of white rice was $5 😳 the fries was among the “best” compared to other dishes. But overall, we enjoyed the meal because the service was excellent!
Lam L — Google review
Pod is back! If you enjoyed Pod in the past then you’ll love this updated version in the same place in University City. The decor is updated but the service is as great as you may recall in the past. The menu is diverse although of course on a Japanese-fusion theme ranging from sushi/sashimi to noodles and rice to fuller entrees. Do try the desserts too! Definitely recommended for a visit into the city or if you live nearby - a classic place returns and even better!

Verdict: Highly Recommended Been here twice now with the new refreshed Japanese menu. Food is excellent with the new menu. Have been able to try the sukiyaki, karaage, ebi tempura and the seven fishes sushi which were all exceptional. Service is prompt and attentive. It’s always a pleasant time here. Ambiance is great, although wish they refreshed the interiors a bit but still nice nonetheless.

Nestled in the heart of Washington Square West, Percy Street Barbecue is a must-visit for barbecue enthusiasts seeking a modern twist on traditional Texas-style fare. This stylish eatery boasts a rustic ambiance and ample picnic seating, making it an ideal spot for family gatherings or casual outings with friends. The menu features expertly smoked meats served as composed plates, allowing diners to savor each bite without the mess typically associated with BBQ.
Great food. Smoked Brisket and Pecan Pie especially delicious! Reservation Counter seemed to be a little bias with seating. Overall the quality of food made dinner a great experience.

The food here was decent. The ribs, brisket, and pork belly were really good. I wasn't a huge fan of the sides. The corn bread was a bit dry, the beans could've had some more meat, the coleslaw was good, but the potato salad I was no fan. If you're in the area and hungry, stop on in. Just skip the sides.

Pretty good, but not great. Service was stellar. Interior is awesome. Meats were fantastic, but all the sides we had werent very good. Pork belly was amazing. Ribs were amazing. Brisket was great. Sides, not so much. Kinda pricey too... for this price, go to Fette Sau instead

Great atmosphere good music very friendly service smoked chicken was great, brisket was even better..but I'm sorry to say the ribs, not so good. Will give it another try. Price was good but again ribs did not cut it very disappointing.

I have been here before and even ordered Thanksgiving Dinner from here last year. Heard they are under new management. Larger portions but different taste. I always get beans, these were the best beans by far I have had any where this time. Fries were fat cut potato and brisket sandwich had so much meat. Cornbread was not like the one I had from Thanksgiving, need to have that particular cornbread as a special. Will try biscuits again whilst under new management and see how they taste. That turkey was wonderful Best turkey I ever had, moist and very tasty. And I have had plenty of Thanksgiving turkey only thing was close was turkey breast I made. So back to dinner, server Andre was was nice and answered questions. SMELLED like BBQ smoke and deliciousness up in there this time. Not like before. BTW bathroom needs paper towel dispenser.😃

I don't know what I was thinking when I went in here, because I HATE BBQ. I honestly thought "I'm so hungry, this place has always looked cool, I'm sure I can just get a burger." Then I was seated looking at a menu and felt like it was too late to back out. The good news is that everyone was super friendly and the entree, BBQ chicken, was pretty damn tasty. Sadly my sides were dramatically bland, especially the German potato salad which tasted more like cold potato flavorless lumps. It gets four stars for atmosphere, decor, friendly staff and a surprisingly good chicken BBQ. I've never been back because, again, as a general rule I don't like BBQ. But if YOU do, you should check it out!
James B — Google review
An exceptional, standout restaurant, Percy Street keeps the menu tight and simple. But what they do, they execute perfectly. Is it the best barbecue I've ever had? No. But it's above average, and consistently so. Brisket, pulled pork, sides ... I can't imagine going wrong with anything on the menu. The only downside? It's so far from home!
Mark D — Google review
Pleasantly surprised by the BBQ and portions. Not the best I've had but definitely unique to Philly. The ribs were tasty and fell off the bone, and they went great with the sweet and spicy sauces. The cornbread was a tad salty and oniony though. I also wish they had more options on the menu, like fried brussel sprouts and sweet potatoes. Otherwise, great service and venue.

Double Knot is a Japanese restaurant located in Midtown Village, offering two distinct dining experiences. The all-day cafe on the main floor serves rice and noodle bowls, while transforming into a lively bar scene in the evening. Meanwhile, the izakaya below offers a different menu with sushi and robatayaki dishes. The cafe space provides an intimate setting with an espresso menu featuring bold drinks from local roasters.
This is my second time here, my first experience was a few years back and it was wonderful. Myself and three friends wanted to dine here while visiting Philly and this was a good choice. Our waiter Mike was so very pleasant he made our experience so worth while. He was very fluent with the menu options and steered us in the right direction with our food choices. We ordered multiple dishes to share which is always a good thing to do. Edamame to start, those were super delicious seasoned perfectly. The spicy baked scallop and crab my fav so delicious as well. It was the tables fav as well because everyone ordered that dish. Very appealing as well. A good fried rice is always a plus , we chose the mushroom truffle fried rice and the Japanese fried chicken to pair it with , good pairing. Wild mushroom gyozas were apart of the spread as well. Last but not least the broiled oysters , super bomb! All of drinks were perfect as well with our dishes. Please be aware it is very dark in there. Overall we had a grand time!

My first time here and I loved it! The only thing is the seatings are sooooo closed to each other it feels really tight. We decided to have a seat at the love chair for a more intimate happy hour experience even though it’s besides the restroom but it didn’t bother us. The prices were reasonable and I love how if you have a seat at a happy hour table you can also order from their standard menu. Let’s take a deep dive on everything I tried. The love knot cocktail was sooo good it reminded me of a lemon drop. The shrimp tacos were really gooooood. The edamame dumpling was my absolute favorite because I loveeeee truffle flavor. The shrimp tempura was good as well I just wish there was spicy mayo we could’ve add on top, the spicy tuna was spicyyyyy but flavorful and delicious! The tuna crispy rice was another one of my favorites I love the two textures together of the crispy rice and spicy tuna. The oysters was another good one it had a burst of spicy flavor with a nice buttery taste to the oyster. & to end my meal I finished off with a cocktail I forgot the name of it but it was a similar taste to the rose cocktail but a little more sour. All in all our server Olivia was amazing the service was top tier, food was delicious for happy hour prices! Another thing I would like to add is I collect matches from restaurants that I’ve tried and this restaurant was the only one on this block that did not have any.

Went here for my birthday and it didn’t disappoint. The ambiance was so so so nice. We did the tasting menu, which is honestly the only way to go in my option. Every single but was just incredible. I honestly don’t think I could pick a favorite. Dishes came out fast but not too fast. And the value here is nuts. I don’t think you’ll find a better dining experience in Philly for such a price.
Alexander W — Google review
- Service: Fast and friendly. They are very knowledgeable about their menu and their food. - Ambiance: Very nice ambiance but it's very dark. It makes me feel like I'm in Diagon Alley in Harry Potter. - Food: There're two prices for tasting menu- $69 & $79. $79 offers more quality of meat and cut (?) if I remember what our waitress said right. However, we just went for a la carte since we had a late lunch. - For robatayaki: We got ribeye scallions and scallops. The ribeye is so tender! Nice charcoal grill taste added to it, and I didn't know scallions could be paired so nice with beef. Scallops are sweet and slightly salty which is perfect. - Specialty sashimi: We got Toro and Yellowtail. I love the Toro more, somehow it's thicker and the soy sauce with wasabi going so nice together. Yellowtail dish was overpowered by the yuzu and citrus sauce. The selections of special sashimi are pretty decent and very refreshing. - The other dishes we ordered were just alright, they didn't impress at all. - Overall, $175 included tax and tips for this whole meal but still left me a bit hungry, so I would say this restaurant definitely lean into more expensive side. We were also excited for the miso soft-served ice cream but unfortunately, they were out of it, which is weird for a Friday night. Easy to make reservations. Hard to find parking. I would recommend it for people who want to experience new and nice restaurants in Philly. For me myself, I think it's a nice experience but not impressive enough to come back soon.
Quinn L — Google review
If you were looking for it, you would walk by it. It’s a door to enter this grand of a restaurant! They have a downstairs and a bigger dinning area in the back of where you enter. The Japanese cuisine is good. I enjoy myself every time I go to this lil spot. Oh and they have Happy Hour, ting.

I’ve been to double knot too many times to count but it’s honestly top 10 in my opinion. It’s consistent, good quality, and beautiful. These pictures were on two different occasions dinner and happy hour. Staff is always kind and I like that the managers sometimes walk around and ask how the food is. I love it here though my favorite!

Metro Diner is a local chain that offers classic American breakfast and lunch in a cozy setting. Whether you're a local or just visiting the Philadelphia metropolitan area, this award-winning diner promises the best breakfast and comfort food. The diverse menu features classic dishes done well, with some unique twists like French toast made with croissants instead of regular bread. The service is top-notch, making it a great spot to enjoy a delicious breakfast or lunch.
Did a little Weekend getaway from NYC and stumbled upon Metro Diner. All I can say is the food was amazing. We Had the chicken platter (so moist) mashed potato and string beans, turkey sausage and OMG the cinnamon roll pancake OMG so goood. Not too many places make sweet tea freshly brewed the right way and the sweet tea was so good and the blueberry lemonade oh boy!!! lol sooooo good. Definitely making another trip this way just for the food and great customer service. The owner/manager Jeff stopped by our table to check on our liking of the food. Jeff was a delight to speak with. You can tell he cares about customers and the presentation and customer liking of the food as well as the staff. If you haven’t tired Metro Diner you’re missing out.

I went yesterday, 08/09/2025 with my cousin. I ordered the chicken & waffles and she ordered biscuits with gravy and eggs. I remember vividly telling the server that I want my waffles crispy. When we received our order, my waffle wasn’t crispy. It was soft. I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it so I let it go, but considering I am a patron paying for a service, I should be able to voice my displeasure. I informed the server that my waffles were not crispy like I ordered. (I do not think she specified crispy/well done when she placed the order.) She immediately said, “well you can’t get your meal for free since you ate half of it.” First, I never said I wanted a free meal. Second, I did not eat half of my food. I took one bite out of a drumstick and ate 2 out of the 4 precut waffle. Technically, that is not half of the meal. Third, how rude and disrespectful to not immediately apologize for your customer’s dissatisfaction. An apology should have been the first thing to come out of her mouth, but she assumed we were freeloaders. I can’t help but wonder if she would have told her white customers the same thing if they expressed their grievances to her. I doubt it. I have worked at restaurants before as a server and I carried myself more gracefully and respectfully at her age but I digress. I was flabbergasted by her rudeness. I guess she saw my visibly shocked face and offered a delayed and specious apology, but I lost my appetite at that point. Ironically, she probably assumed since we were black we weren’t going to tip so she had an IDGAF attitude, but our bill was $37.06 and I gave her a $13 tip because I believe in tipping and treating people the way I want to be treated. I hope she learns to do the same. I do not remember the server’s name but she was a young blonde. Subsequently, I went home and made waffles to my own satisfaction which I should NEVER have to do after going to a restaurant. It was my first time and will be my last time patronizing this establishment.

We Love the Bensalem Metro Diner. Nick the manager is always great…so pleasant and helpful! We had a wonderful server today by the name of Ingrid who was super pleasant and informative. She and Nick had wonderful food recommendations that hit the spot…the rib appetizer was just enough, the pumpkin waffle with candied pecans was YUM as was the fish & chips, and the grits are always on point. AND then came the pumpkin bread pudding!!! Once again everything was delicious. We will be back!

There is daily happy hour from 4 to 7pm. The hibiscus tea cocktail is refreshing and delicious. I love the use of decomposible straws, not the paper ones that melt but the good ones that don't melt but still kinda good for the sea turtles! The plate is not cute but the food is absolutely delicious. The tempura green beans were so addictive! Little did we expect that to be any good. It was crunchy on the outside and softer on inside. We were seated outside and unfortunately got multiple bites by mosquitoes so beware! Not the restaurant fault - we should have known. Serving size were very generous and honestly great stop for a quick bar stop with friends.

Nice dark moody atmosphere for a bar, the food took a minute but was decent for bar food. Chicken Mac and cheese was surely grilled and nicely seasoned but was a bit burnt. Tried their spicy pineapple margaritas special and it was served in a rocks glass without any salt, which was unexpected but not being an avid margarita drinker I’m not too picky.

Ramen restaurant
Restaurant
Hiro Ramen is a modern Japanese-style dining spot located in the heart of Philadelphia, offering a variety of flavorful ramen noodles. The restaurant takes pride in serving carefully crafted bowls prepared by master ramen chefs, ensuring a satisfying experience for every customer. With options like tonkotsu, chicken and pork broth, and veggie broth, there's something for everyone to enjoy. One standout dish is the super-spicy Gates of Hell ramen that promises an intense yet delightful experience.
Fabulous ramen, super well done and very very quick. We ordered the Gates of Hell, the Black Pig, and the Porfilio ramen bowls, and an order of Karaage. Ramen was $13 each and $9 for karaage. Dinner for 3 at $60 including tip is a good value in my opinion. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the pork belly chashiu was so tender it was falling apart! I had the black pig which was phenomenal with lots of black garlic oil. I added togarashi for slightly more spice. They also have a spice bomb option for any type of ramen they offer. I thought the Porfilio broth tasted too strongly of corn since it has corn in it, but I’m also very sensitive/picky. Server was friendly and the service was super fast. Ambience is nice too. They are cash only which is an important note. Not an issue for us but nowadays many people do not carry cash. ATM was nearby however as we overheard the neighboring table did not realize it was cash only until time to pay the bill. Also the server (maybe owner?) mentioned they close early some nights since the pandemic since they are less busy. He said to call ahead to ensure they are open (it says open til 10pm online but they closed the kitchen by 8:30 when we were there). They also offer takeaway and BYOB, plus they have a veggie ramen option!

Cash only price but has an ATM machine. Seem like a popular place for Ramen, it was my first time although i always walk by it. Prices are reasonable, service was good, restrooms need renovations. We had the heaven ramen and black pic plus the octopus dish

Had a good late lunch here, the ramen was nice and juicy and was served within 10mins after order. Service was proper too, and the price of ramen ($15) was good as well. The tonkotsu ramen was fulfiling and delicious. Docked one star because they only accept cash. I was lucky that i had some, but That can be a bummer if you don’t.

Great little ramen spot !!! I had the Hiro' inch of heaven $10. The broth was amazing and it did not disappoint. Although if you have a large appetite you may want to add an extra pork belly $2 or egg... This place is cash only but the have an ATM on site. They had plenty of seating available at the counter, however I can see this getting crowded at dinner time.

This is definitely one of Philadelphia's underrated ramen spots. They offer spicy ramen which seems to be difficult in the area. They do not accept cash on many of their days of the week, only credit card or venmo. They charred the pork belly exceptionally well too.

It's definitely one of my fav ramen places in philadelphia. They have one of the best Karaage chicken hands down. The service is quick and it is a cash only location. It's a very reasonable price with lunch special deals as well. It is located across the Jefferson hospital next to milk boys. I highly think this is the best spot for some authentic ramen. There's alot of space for dining in and good for groups!

Ordered the gates of hell and porfolio ramen which were on the salty side but very flavorful, rich and filling. We also ordered the gyoza which comes with an order 6 and was absolutely delicious! The prices are great, unfortunately it’s cash only but I believe the fair prices make up for that small inconvenience. Our order was to go and was done in 10 minutes!
Alisa B — Google review
Delicious!!! Cash only so you have to plan ahead but this is one of my favorite ramen places ever. If you only get 1 thing, get the gates of hell ramen and don’t forget the spice bomb. The vegetarian ramen is also delicious. We always get that with shoyu egg. You can tell they actually put effort into the vegetable broth. The takoyaki and house salad are also phenomenal. Can’t say enough good things about this place!

Restaurant
Corinne's Place is a beloved family-owned restaurant known for its generous portions of soul food and welcoming atmosphere. The establishment gained recognition from the James Beard Foundation as an American Classic in 2022, but it has been a cherished spot in Camden since 1989. The menu features mouthwatering dishes such as crispy fried chicken, Cajun turkey wings, and BBQ pork ribs smothered in sauce.
Stopped at Corinne’s this past Saturday with my daughter and Gal Pal after throwing out the suggestion cause they wanted soul food out of choices given. Me, I’m no stranger to this gem. First time was over 30 yrs ago on a date! Well….these women with me put a hurting on the food you see pictured here. Everything was fresh, delicious, comforting! Service was fantastic. Best part? Seeing Corinne herself! Looking ‘fly’ as ever, chatting up memories of ‘back in the day’, Holmes Lounge memories, dancing to wee hours in the morning. This place remains a historic gem and significant to memories black patrons (particularly) can trace their own memories of food they GrandMama, Mama, Aunties, Uncles prepared with loving hands. Thank you Corinne and staff for a great afternoon, may the history and legacy live on🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️❤️

Review for Corrine’s Place in Camden, New Jersey I made sure to visit Corrine’s Place three times before writing this review to truly gauge the consistency in service and quality—and I’m so glad I did. Each visit was a heartwarming experience, thanks to the owner, Ms. Corrine, who made my guests and me feel like part of her family. Her genuine spirituality and passion for hospitality shine through from the moment you walk in the door. The food is nothing short of exceptional. After three visits and sampling a wide variety of dishes with seven different guests, I can confidently say that Corrine’s Place is a gem for soul food lovers. My personal favorite is the whiting paired with candy yams and black-eyed peas—it’s a perfect harmony of flavors. I’ve also tried the green beans, collard greens, cabbage, and macaroni and cheese, all of which are outstanding examples of classic soul food. Every guest who joined me left thoroughly satisfied and eager to return. If I had to offer one critique, it would be the iced tea. I’m not sure what brand is used, but it doesn’t quite match the high standard of the rest of the meal. Lipton’s or freshly brewed tea with lemon would elevate the experience, especially when paired with such authentic Southern dishes. Despite this small note, Corrine’s Place has earned my loyalty. The food is delicious, the service is warm and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere feels like home. I’ll definitely be returning and bringing more friends and family to support this wonderful business. If you’re in Camden and craving soul food made with love, Corrine’s Place is a must-visit!

This is Absolutely, The Best Soul Food Anywhere in the USA!! They give you a very healthy serving of you entree. The portions of the sides, are so much, that you would never be able to eat it all in one sitting. The service is Awesome, and the atmosphere is very warm and inviting.

If you are a new resident in the Burlington County/South Jersey area. I know that you are indeed looking for some of the Best Soul food. I am a former North Jerseyan resident, no exaggeration this food is worth the ride. The staff, their mannerism, the culture it’s a whole vibe, the food is enough for Sunday dinner and lunch on Monday!🤗 Every bite is well worth the ride to Mrs. Corrine’s in Camden, NJ. I have come to learn about the rich history behind this pioneer of a woman, solely by reading her timeless articles that adorn the walls of her business. If you are lucky you maybe able to glance her on the sidewalk in front of her business interacting with the community that she has serves for years! A Queen by All Means!

NEVER AGAIN!!!!! I ordered my food to go! Gave them my name and number PAID for my food! Waited 25 mins! When I went back in the staff that took my order said “We don’t have any more chicken wings” I asked for my Money back!!!!! She said oh we don’t do refunds! WTH! YOU took my order plus my money had me wait 25mins to yet tell me you don’t have something!!!! But NEVER texted or called my phone to tell me!!!! Yeah NEVER AGAIN!!!!! That is POOR BUSINESS!!!! I definitely advise take ya business elsewhere because other places wouldn’t have handled it like this!!!! BAD BUSINESS!

Found Corrine's out the blue after being in Camden for a baseball tournament this past Sunday. My family of 8 and I called and they were able to seat us all within 5 mins. Waitress, service, food and hospitality was amazing. We did the Sunday buffet ( 5 meats and sides for $35) and they pile on the food. Everything was delicious. The manager Vincent came out and introduced himself, gave us the history of the place and then introduced us to the owner, Mrs. Corrine. She talk with us for awhile and even gave my 6 year old son, presents from under their summer time tree. We will definitely be visiting again very soon. Worth the ride over the bridge.

Her Place Supper Club is a modern take on traditional supper clubs like Palizzi and Messina in Philly. Unlike its predecessors, Her Place offers exceptional food without requiring a membership. Securing a reservation may be challenging, but the experience of dining at this Center City restaurant feels like being invited to a chef's home. The menu features a rotating four-course tasting menu for $85 every two weeks, and reservations are released on Sundays at 6pm.
This was a special experience! We enjoyed the description of each dish by the chefs and appreciate that most of the ingredients are sourced from local farms and vendors. The menu changes every 3 weeks and there are no substitutions. They’re open Mon-Fri, with 26 seats, and 2 seatings, so reservations aren’t easy to get. The energy was great and the food was excellent! I highly recommend!

Love the vibes and the people. Chef sounds like a great person, is passionate, and is interactive. Love the concept of focusing and showcasing local ingredients. So 5/5 for vibes and concept. 3/5 (maybe lower actually) for the food. From a technical perspective, everything was cooked properly, just not super exciting. It was like nice homestyle cooking. Felt like stuff my mom used to make growing up or like a menu that you would have if you got together with friends for a potluck or Friendsgiving. The wine list by the glass was not great. My 50/50 martini was solid. 3 drinks between 2 people along with the tasting menu and 1 $27 add on of rabbit pasta and with tip was around $350 for 2 people. You just expect a little more at that price point. Still a good time and nice to check it out once.

Unique experience, but for what we paid, the food was not good enough to make me want to return. Some of the dishes were truly excellent, such as the seafood salad. Some others were a bit bland (red drum), or too salty (rabbit rillette croquette). This is not to say that I would not recommend Her Place. I absolutely would! I still very much enjoyed the experience, but when something is this hyped I imagine its hard to live up to the expectation. The philly food scene is very competitive these days.

Love it! Love it!! ❤️ ❤️ it has been a while since I am so excited to rate a place! I found this place on Instagram and ranked #1 restaurant in Philly, so had to try. Got lucky and book it the last min. So glad I went. No sense to talk about what I ate, because the menu changes every 3 weeks. You have to trust the chefs👩‍🍳 . You will have to eat what they cooked, like when you are visiting friends. When I walked in, it is a small place with 11 tables. Feel very welcomed, like went to someone's house for dinner. It is a fixed menu, no substitute, you eat what they cook. And everything was great! very fresh and just good! I don't know how to describe it. It feels like fancy home cooking.. very unique experience. For sure I will go back again! I would love to try their new menu! What I ate: started with cheese made cracker with foie grass and jam, seafood salad ( the scallops was very unique, I had to eat a bit to figure out), rabbit croquettes (soft tender in the middle, crispy outside), salad (refreshing with a little bitterness to balance out the deep fried croquettes), squash ravioli (oh the skin is so chewy and the squash was just taste so yummy), skate wings( wow mix the meat with the sauce.. heavenly), and finished with apple walnut cake ( my favorite!!! My god it was so moist... I need to figure out how it was done) oh we all got a little cookie and pretzel at the end.. for sure it was one of my best restaurant experience. Not only the food, but the entire experience. Forgot we got extra chicken sausage, it was good, but was too much food for me. Verdict: I will be back! #4 restaurant in my Beli list

Chef Amanda and team are incredible. Every moment of dinner was an experience and the staff is all so kind and funny. Made a special night out even more special. Bāo • logy is a modern Taiwanese street food eatery near Logan Square that offers a variety of dishes such as dumplings, gwa baos, and ruen bings. The owner, Judy Ni, has been dedicated to supporting her employees and the community during the pandemic by providing free meals through various organizations and offering healthy options like bian dang to healthcare providers.
Very good dumplings, Bao and special sandwich of the evening. Place was not crowded as we went for dinner, though I imagine it gets very crowded at lunch. Both the hot sauce and dumpling sauce were great. Service was fast and friendly

Great place serving Taiwanese street food. I had the bao trio, comprising of pork belly. King oyster mushrooms and Taiwanese fried chicken for around $11. All were delicious, but I think I liked the King Mushrooms the most. It was something unique and something that I had never tried before. I am looking forward to trying the rest of the items on the menu.

Tons of flavor in such a small package. Baology is found in the heart of center city business district and delivers on point bao buns. Plenty of options from pork, chicken, beef and vegetarian. The lines get long during the lunch break but it is well worth it. The staff are pleasantly cheerful and answer all your questions. The touch screens make it easy to place your order to keep the line moving. Definitely a spot to check out if you're new to the city.

Unique fast casual counter serve spot serving up a variety of Taiwanese grub for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They’re situated among a strip of storefronts in the base of a larger building on JFK. Look for the chalkboard sign out front. Once inside you can expect a fast casual vibe with nondescript booths, yellow walls, and a few tablets to place your order. The open kitchen confirms the majority of their menu is made in house. We went with a variety pack of bao buns, chicken wonton soup, Taiwanese fried chicken paired with slaw, and potstickers. We were most impressed by the soft, pillowy bao buns. Specifically, the heritage pork belly buns which are packed with tender meat, tangy picked radishes, creamy aioli, and slightly sweet crushed peanuts. The fried chicken was perfectly crunchy, but the accompanying slaw was a little plain for our taste. In fact, the texture of everything we ordered was phenomenal whereas the flavors, aside from the bao buns, weren’t as pronounced as we anticipated. To be clear, everything tasted great and the lack of bold flavor could be more a reflection of the cuisine than the kitchen. The location and atmosphere suggest the majority of their business comes via to-go orders. I’d certainly return for a midweek order of bao buns or one of the menu items we didn’t order. Recommended for a quick, casual meal or creative to-go option.

Ok so… you won’t believe this place. Taiwanese from what I understand. Basically, it’s affordable 5 star Asian fusion. Most tender meat best veggies and in a quaint location. A MUST try. Best quick lunch in Philadelphia. No question about it.

Really good lunch spot in the city. The cucumber salad starter is really good. Watch the heat at the end! I also got the Pork Ruen Bing. While it fell apart in my hands, it was quite delicious. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and will definitely be back soon

First off, when I walked in I was immediately off-put by the decor (or lack their of). It appears the kitchen storage is all in the front of the restaurant- disorganized mess right there for everyone to stare at while they order and eat. I should have turned right around and walked away then- but figured I wouldn’t judge a book by its cover and would try the buns. If they are amazing, I can overlook the hole in the wall appearance. I ordered the fried chicken and pork belly buns and both were mediocre - at best. That’s being generous. The tight wrapping around each bun appears cute but makes for a difficult eating experience. The chicken was not a robust/juicy piece (for a $5 bun) and the pork belly was SUPER fatty. I know pork belly is supposed to be fatty- but this was all fat, no meat. The flavors were decent but the meats are poor quality. The pork belly bun was topped with crushed peanut “stuff” and made the whole thing SO messy. Another inconvenience for a quick bite mid work day. You would think that for $5 per bun, they would be larger and with better quality ingredients. Both were stuffed into a tiny brown box which was good touched w greasy hands too. Not appealing. I won’t be going back - and recommend you try “bao nine” down the street for delicious and more affordable buns. Or Chinatown! Womp. This place stinks.

I've been here a couple of times now, with nothing but excellent things to say about the food and the service. The menu has a variety of meat free options available. My favorites on the menu are the veggie potstickers, the cold longevity noodles, and the sweet potato donuts. Definitely try the gwa bao, there are a ton of options. I had the oyster mushroom, and despite not caring for mushroom, I loved it. The ruen bing are light and delicious little wraps filled with sauteed veggies, with your choice of a variety of proteins. The potstickers are packed with flavor, with an equally tasty dipping sauce. The cold longevity noodles are something I'm going to be dreaming about until the next time I can get them. They're super delicious, and I opted for the egg add-on, which made it even better. If you're looking for a sweet treat to accompany your meal, the sweet potato donut holes are perfect. They're crispy and sweet and good hot or cold. Additionally, if you want to try something fun drink wise, give the Hey Song Sarsaparilla a go!

Nestled in East Falls, The Black Squirrel Pub and Haunt offers a delightful twist on the traditional British pub experience. With its charming decor featuring eclectic wallpaper, exposed brick walls, and whimsical portraits of squirrels, the ambiance is both inviting and playful. Chef Arthur Cavaliere has crafted a menu that showcases classic British dishes with flair.
If you’re looking for a delicious meal made with love in the heart of East Falls, The Black Squirrel is THE place! This quaint, eclectic spot has been a favorite of mine and truly never disappoints. The food is flavorful and truly tastes like it was made with care. Plus, Peyton, our server, was excellent. Everyone at The Black Squirrel is accommodating and we even overheard the staff discussing an upcoming event they were hosting and we immediately wanted our next party to be hosted there. Can’t wait until next time! My only small ask is for more vegetarian options (although you can’t go wrong with their gnocchi as you can see I ordered it two separate times)!

🐿 Black Squirrel in East Falls. So I had a birthday lunch with hubby at the Black Squirrel, contemporary British Pub Fare that feels more elevated than most other places in this category. 🧅 I got the Onion Soup with a piece of toast with rarebit on top (a dijon mustard and cheese combo)... this was just outstanding.. the sherry in the soup really took it to the next level. Hubby got the cheese board which seems a bit small portion-wise ( aren't cheese boards pretty big usually) We got the fish and chips and the tandoori wings... wings must have been made from jumbo birds since they were HUGE.... and quite delicious. 🍸 We agreed that the expertly crafted cocktails were the highlight though. They were just stellar! They did require proof of vaccination, which they had been doing since June, although the staff was unmasked. They did have outside seating and I did see heaters. I loved feeling transported with the decor, food and furnishings though! 🇬🇧

A wonderful addition to East Falls! The Black Squirrel is an English-style pub and very much feels like it from the decor to the menu. My friend and I split the Tandoori Chicken Wings as an app (which were great!), I had the cottage pie as an entree and it was wonderful, my friend got the fish and chips and they looked just as good. We didn’t order any drinks but I saw a large amount of cocktails on the drink menu. They offer bar seating, regular dine-in, as well as outdoor seating. Our server Kaitlyn was great! One of my new favorite spots in East Falls.

Finally found a free night when this new addition to East Falls was open to take a test drive. Happy to report the experience was very good. My companion and I sat at the bar and it was the bartender who actually made the visit memorable as he was personable, knowledgeable and just a joy to chat with when he wasn’t knocking out delicious beverages on a very busy early evening. The food was delicious. I had the fish and chips (not pictured) and my companion had white asparagus with a fried egg added on top. I deducted one star as the portions were very small for the price. My selection was $22 and included one piece of battered fish and a small cup of fries. It was good but for the cost, 2 pieces of fish feels more appropriate. So don’t go there super-hungry. Our total bill came to about $150 for two minus tip.

Certainly not a budget eating experience, but absolutely worth every penny. My wife can be very picky so I was surprised when she ordered her food without any substitutions, and afterwards commented that she could die happy after the potato salad. Praise indeed. My fish and chips were fabulous too. As we were leaving, my wife observed "Nice staff, really good food, and a squirrel theme. What more could you ask for?" That pretty much sums it up.

This English style restaurant is a beautiful place to dine for both the food and the atmosphere. I am very impressed with the creative and well balanced menu. Most items feature at least one or two interesting or delicate ingredients that allow the dish to shine. The cocktails and carefully curated mocktails are as lovely as the velveted interior. I also appreciated the informed and professional service from both the bartenders and the waitstaff. Even without mods, there are a lot of gluten free options (the fries are cooked in a dedicated fryer). Try the Forest Mushroom Salad; it's the perfect combination of fresh bright flavors, balanced textures, and savory umami. The Black Squirrel is an elevated gastro pub with a dedicated following for a reason.

Founded by BBQ enthusiasts Chris McHugh and Chad Rosenthal, this spot is a must-visit for anyone craving Memphis-style dry-rubbed ribs alongside an array of delectable options like burgers, fried chicken sandwiches, pulled pork, and smoked sausage.
Papa Dan’s pizza ($32) was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. It was perfectly cooked (well done) with this tasty sauce that had a lot of garlic (the perfect amount)! The cheese board ($19) was good but mustard, cheese and pickles didn’t seem like a good combination. The Brie cheese and jam were amazing together. We also got waffle fries ($3 happy hour price!) which were so delicious!

Was attending a concert next door at Union Transfer and stumbled upon this restaurant on google maps so decided to try it out. Definitely worth every penny. $6 food happy hour 4-6pm Wednesday-Sunday Mac Bells 🔔 came with two decent size bells. The spicy ranch sauce it came with went really well with the fried mac and cheese. I enjoyed the bits of pork and brisket in it Memphis Totchos was a dish able to be shared among two or considered a whole meal for myself. The waffle fries did not get soggy too quickly from the sauces which was nice Would get both these dishes again Friendly and attentive staff There was a live band here. We enjoyed their music but it was too loud. We had to shout over them and by the end of the night had sour throats. Had we known we would have asked for a table further away

I’ve been meaning to get over here for a while now. I finally made it there last night and am glad we chose to eat here. I’m not going to lie. The phrase Totchos is what ultimately steered us here. Who wouldn’t want loaded tots with BBQ cheese and other beautiful toppings? We started with them, and they were better than I had hoped. We then made a combo of our own by ordering some ribs and pork shoulder. We had the brisket on the Totchos, so we covered the meats well. I wanted the wings, but they were out. This has been an ongoing theme lately as another BBQ joint I went to was also out. Oh boy, I’m glad they were 86’d as I was having a hard time with the price of $5 a wing. I was hoping they were the whole 3-segmented wing, but from other reviews online, they look to be either the drum or flats. They must be some wings. Ribs were perfect, and the smoked pork shoulder was so tender. We ordered extra meats for lunch the next day, and that was a great decision. We had the burger and chicken sandwich as our entrees. The whiskey onions and bacon on the burger were so flavorful. Great beef and another wonderful item. The chicken sandwich had a great crunch and was very moist. All in all a great spot. I hope more people start showing up as it was quite empty on a Friday night. Thinking people are still being cautious about covid, but they checked our vaccine cards upon entry. Enjoy.

MilkBoy Philadelphia is a vibrant café that seamlessly blends delicious, locally sourced food with an energetic atmosphere. With its garage door-fronted design, this spot invites you in for all-day dining featuring a menu rich in sandwiches and hearty options like nachos and blackened chicken paninis. While it may not boast the same music stage as its Old City counterpart, MilkBoy still offers an engaging experience perfect for catching a Phillies game on large TVs or unwinding after work at the full-service bar.
MilkBoy on Chestnut Street doesn’t just serve food; it stages a culinary performance that’s as dynamic as any rock show. The sweet potato fries take center stage with a crisp, golden crunch and flavor that lingers like a killer guitar riff. Pair them with their espresso martini—a velvety, bold number that hits all the right notes—and you’ve got a duet that keeps you coming back for an encore.

Everything was your run of the mill bar food; nothing blew me away but was still good. Beer was good. Place has live music so will have to come back to check out a local band.

Overall cool vibe in the bar. Food was pretty good. The waiter that we had seemed to have an attitude problem. Very unfriendly. My boyfriend and I got lunch with a friend. We ordered a side of fries with our cheesesteaks. He brought our friend’s food tray on top of our side of fries, so we assumed that the fries went with her tenders since he placed the trays down stacked on top of each other. (He said nothing when he brought the food to her). When he brought our cheesesteaks to us, he threw them on the edge of the table without saying a word. Didn’t place them in front of either of us. My boyfriend sat with an empty cup of ice for 15 minutes. The service was just overall not welcoming and bluntly, bad.

My husband and I hosted a going away party this past weekend at MilkBoy and it was amazing! We wanted a casual spot to host our friends, where we could have more a cocktail/happy hour vibe versus a full sit down dinner. Anna and her staff were incredibly accommodating - they blocked off the backroom for us, moved chairs that we didn't want, made sure our friends had everything they needed, and were super helpful with separating bills so we could cover food and friends could cover their own drinks. Plus, food and drinks were great! My friends can't stop talking about the cheddar jawns. If you're looking to host a group gathering, don't discount MilkBoy. My only regret is that we didn't find out about this gem sooner!! I would have loved to host other parties here!

Jones is a family-friendly restaurant and lounge that offers American comfort food in a retro setting. The 70s-style eatery serves up classics like mac and cheese, roast turkey with all the fixings, Tandoori chicken kebabs, and sesame seared tuna. Desserts include chocolate layer cake, apple pie, and a must-try key lime pie. The menu also features unique dishes like chicken and waffles topped with a savory gravy.
Definitely Great comfort food spot. The chicken breast was flavorful, The burger was tasty. Didn't have the waffles. Next time. Staff and managers were very helpful. My only gripe at a quarter to 6 was, they ran out of mint for the mojitos. Smh. I wound up not having any other drinks. I have mojitos more than any other drink. Them not having mint, isn't a deal breaker. Will go back when in town again. Hopefully covid will be gone. P.. They have a high Tech screen-temperature gauge before you go into the establishment

Wonderful food and exceptional service. Our server, Emily, was very attentive, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about all of the dishes in the menu. The restaurant has great ambiance. The chicken and waffle is delicious. The chicken was tender and well seasoned and the waffle was light and full of flavor. The shrimp and cauliflower "grits" was a hit with my dinner companions. They raved about the gorgeous texture and flavor of the dish.

Always Great Sunday Brunch vibes.... We made reservations to ensure that which what was already limited seating, we had a seat Face temperature scans were taken the moment you entered. Servers had there COVID-19 gear on. We felt cool and "safe" to eat inside for be 90mins alotted. Customer service was great, food always yummy, hats off to the kitchen, mod designs with the built-in stone fireplace gives a funky throwback vibe. Only negative was the air was on, definitely made for a chilly brunch. Considering it was already a very very windy day. Matter fact, soo much so that outdoor seating has to end, patrons were moved inside due to the winds knocking table umbrellas down. Although I got green tea this me around, it's a must you try the Mimosas with the flavored purees. Sooo delish!!

The Mac and cheese was perfection and had a slight smoky feel to it. The bottomless drink special was great. The protein plate was filling and the chocolate cake negated the healthy part of ordering the protein plate.

Came for brunch on a Saturday and was conveniently seated without a wait. Chocolate chip pancakes needed more chocolate chips, and the cheesteak omelette was fairly bland. The matza ball soup was great however, and the menu was fairly priced overall.

Start with the Nachos or Mac and Cheese. You can't go wrong with their famous Grilled Cheese and Tomato soup combo. You're gonna be stuffed but you must get dessert because their milkshakes are top notch and served the right way, with a thick straw and whipped cream plus a cherry. They also serve an excellent brunch. Get a Bellini.

With a menu that features not only their signature fried chicken but also delectable appetizers and sides, Bar Poulet offers something for everyone.
Had a great experience while eating outside. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The fried chicken and cauliflower gratin were delicious! Also tried the Queens Entourage drink without alcohol and it was so good.

Frankly, every bite I took was amazing. We did brunch tapas style, ordered a bunch of things so we could taste more. To be honest, I was going to ask to go into the kitchen to see if my mom was there, because there is no way the chicken was that good and she wasn't. The salads were perfectly dressed, we thought about packing up the French dip from heirloom crudité and eating it with crisps. Drink and wine selections were spot on, and the staff was ever attentive. I've already selected a few friends I find worthy for a return visit.

*HIGHLY RECOMMEND* I stumbled upon this place while googling for fried chicken near me and from the reviews, I knew I had to try it out. This restaurant has an intimate upscale feel, you wouldn’t even think it’s known for fried chicken. The menu has a good selection of appetizers and of course their most popular fried chicken or fried mushroom course. You can choose between half a chicken (for 2) or whole. The half is definitely more than enough for two if you add in a shareable side or appetizer. Definitely a place to treat yourself to fancy fried chicken. -Poulet Frit 1/2: five pieces of fried chicken, two drums, two breasts, and a wing. The chicken was nice and crispy on the outside and super tender and juicy on the inside. You know it’s good fried chicken when you see it glistening with oil. I was especially impressed that the breast was moist and not dry at all. The chicken paired was lavender honey was definitely the way to go! The honey was not overpowerly floral in taste and complemented the savory chicken really well. -Cauliflower gratin: cheesy cauliflower, what’s not to like about that *VERDICT* Would definitely come back again for my fried chicken craving
Lucy C — Google review
The chicken was delicious 😋 , The Sandwich was great, the Cauliflower Gratin surprisingly tasted just like Mac. Sad to say the mashed potatoes were the weak point for me. But overall the meal was great and the service was top of the line i wish i could remember the young lady’s name who helped us, but she was very inviting and knowledgeable about the menu options.

I can definitely recommend Bar Poulet. There isn't a single bad dish on the menu. There are some great staff working here. The atmosphere is so fun, and inviting. I will absolutely be returning. Some highlights include the deviled eggs, the blue cheese salad, and the fried mushrooms. It sounds funny since the centerpiece of the place is the chicken but TRUST ME. The deviled eggs are so truffle-y, the blue cheese salad is covered in blue cheese and it's everything I wanted. The mushrooms are so well coated, cooked, and seasoned. The pickled veggies that came with the fixed price were really good. I just couldn't eat anymore after everything else. The sandwich was good! It felt like something I would order for lunch. The fried chicken dinner was great, and my partner destroyed it. Both desserts were really great. The chocolate mousse was a personal favorite and I don't even really love chocolate. The sauces... Just get all the sauces. They're all amazing. But if you have to pick: the honey, the beer-naise, and the curry mayo are my top choices. Truffle veloute is close. Just go here already if you can get a reservation.

The fried chicken is hands down the best! It’s so tender and savory. My family and I had an amazing time here. Our waitress suggested a great champagne and the non-alcoholic drink was a 10/10 as well. Definitely recommend.

Simply: EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS. I when I heard about this place being a fine dinning fried chicken restaurant , it was hard to grasp at first. LOL However, it was an amazing time. The music and ambiance completed the meal. Hosts and wait staff where friendly and professional. Food came to the table quick, fresh and hot. We ordered the truffled deviled eggs, three cheese charcuterie with seasoned nuts and fruit spreads and the amazing fried Chicken. If you haven’t been I HIGHLY recommend. It’s perfect for date nights, birthdays, ladies nights and any other celebration you may think of. I can’t wait to go back.

Libertee Grounds is a popular spot in Philadelphia that offers a unique combination of bar, pan-Asian cuisine, and indoor mini golf. The menu features a variety of Asian-inspired dishes and an extensive selection of craft beers and cocktails. It's known for its casual atmosphere, with options for outdoor seating and board games available. While some find the mini golf to be on the pricier side, it's still a fun activity to enjoy with friends.
My husband and I hosted our wedding reception brunch at Libertee Grounds and were absolutely thrilled with our experience here. We already loved the food and atmosphere of the place, but we were so pleasantly surprised with how amazing the management and event coordinator, Kristin, was. They were so communicative and flexible with us, and did such a great job working with us when we wanted to add or change things. They truly went above and beyond in making our wedding brunch the event of our dreams! On the day of, the food was served on time, drinks were prepared quickly by the bartenders, and the service was fantastic. The decor and food were displayed beautifully, the food was delicious as always, and all of our guests had a wonderful time drinking, dancing, and playing mini-golf downstairs after brunch. I would definitely recommend hosting your event here!

The food was amazing, but unfortunately the treatment from staff was unprofessional and unacceptable at closing time. We stayed at an Air BB in the Civic building Friday and Saturday for a show at The Met. The restaurant/bar/mini golf is attached to or with inside the Civic building. Saturday morning/early afternoon we stopped by Libertee for some tacos on a special menu, i had 3 tacos and water, my girlfriend had 4 tacos and a beer. A DJ played while we ate, the music was slammin.... We got the bill, I paid it, we left, walked around the block then back to our AirBB upstairs and napped for 4 hours until we walked over to The Met. After the show we decided to stop back at Libertee and have a few beers. We arrived at 10:15 or so. We ordered a few rounds of beers..basically 4 total for each of us.....don't get me wrong, we can put them back, but in this case...i only had a few all day. Libertee closes at 12 midnight, cool.....at 11:30 pm it's about to be last call, I asked for 2 beers to close it out, he would only give me one...basically said that multiple people have seen me here all day.....I'm like, yeah...I'm staying upstairs, I've had 5 beers including those i just ordered from you all day...like, seriously..... He just tossed us the bill on the bar and snarkly said have a good night. I still tipped him, though sarcastically and in spite, but mostly because I'm not a total douche. I try my best to respect others, even though it may not be returned from the others. I don't know what his issue was, but he was clearly irritated with me as soon as we sat down. We weren't loud, only talked to ourselves and the bartender, we weren't stumbling or falling off our chairs or exhibiting any other rude or socially unacceptable behaviors, but his actions and attitude ruined the whole experience of the day.

Rented the lower level for my son’s wedding reception and Libertee Grounds did a fabulous job. The staff were kind, helpful, efficient, and just terrific. The food was great and they did an amazing job giving us options for gluten free as well as vegetarian guests. Such a fun venue to host a party - we did hire a DJ and there was even room for a dance floor. They did a great job with the room decorations as well. I can’t say enough - they were easy to work with and I would host another party there in a heartbeat. Also, I was able to include parking for my guests as part of my contract. Thank you to Ellie, Drew, Sanil, and all the wonderful staff who helped make our night so special.

Mini golf was great! Food order was wrong, never got part of it and almost was charged for the parts we didn’t get. I’d go back for more mini golfing and the bar near the mini golfing place, but definitely not for the food. Hostess was absolutely a gem and so were the bartenders. Waitress was hard to get a hold of. Also - they automatically apply a 20% tip to your order, so just an fyi because they won’t tell you.

Super cool local spot for food, beer, and mini golf. My food was definitely solid, however I've had hot dogs and cheeseteak eggs rolls I've more preferred elsewhere in Philly. With that said, the mini golf downstairs seemed impressive and service was attentive. Would come back for golf or a bar experience.

Huda is a straightforward restaurant located in Rittenhouse that offers specialty milk bun sandwiches and salads in a casual setting. The location provides a convenient option for those looking to quickly grab a sandwich during their busy day. Yehuda Sichel, the chef behind Huda, previously worked at well-known establishments before opening this solo project. The sandwiches are served on homemade milk buns and feature unique ingredients like grilled swordfish with spicy kimchi tartar sauce or fried maitake mushrooms.
We went to Huda for lunch. We ordered the smash burger with an extra patty and sauce on the side. We also ordered the fries with the house made ranch. The burger was insanely good. It was juicy, cooked perfectly, cheesy and gooey. They give you wet naps for a reason. The bun was so soft but the toast on it gave it a perfect crunch. The onions and cheese were just right. This is one of the better burgers I’ve ever had. The fries were salty and crispy and seasoned well. I used the ranch to dip them. The buttermilk and dill just worked so perfectly to offset the saltiness of the fries. It was just perfect. Do not miss this spot!

I tried the short rib grilled cheese and found it quite overrated. It was too salty, greasy, and the portion size felt small for the price ($17). On the other hand, the spicy chicken was much better—flavorful (though not very spicy), with good fries on the side. The food came out quickly, and the staff was friendly. I’d come back again to try more items from the menu hopefully a 5 star worthy sandwich.
KARIM E — Google review
Located in the heart of Rittenhouse, Huda is a fast-casual sandwich shop with sandwiches built on house-baked Japanese milk buns. My son was pumped to introduce us to Huda as he and his wife love this place. Three of us had the Smash Burgers Huda style, featuring a large slice of pickled green tomato and Huda sauce. My wife chose the tender, Chicken Parm sandwich with a tasty combination of Parm & basil pesto. We shared generous fries w dijonaise & garlic aioli dipping sauces, and a very satisfying grilled romaine salad. We devoured everything since it was so good! Most orders are picked up, but there are several tables for in store eating.
Gordon S — Google review
I’ve been wanting to try Huda for a long time and finally got takeout! I got the spicy chicken sandwich and a side of small fries. Price for the chicken sandwich is high (almost $17 without fries) and while it is on the larger side, the chicken was thin. I expected it to be juicier and thicker. I enjoyed the sauce and the bun. Fries were crispy, but a little over fried. They were hard, but I’m glad they weren’t soggy. For the high price tag, I was a bit let down in the sandwich. I hear they have good smash burgers so maybe I’ll try that next!

Genuinely one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. This is the chicken parm sandwich! Yes it's a bit pricy ($16) but look at the size of this thing it's MASSIVE. So worth it, like twice the size of a normal burger. Big fan of the thick hunk of juicy chicken and chewy milk bun!

HUGE shoutout to Huda restaurant for an unforgettable dining experience! The food was absolute perfection - every bite was a flavor explosion! The service was top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who went above and beyond. We were there on a busy day and still got our food quickly. We tried a variety of dishes, and everything was delicious. The portions were generous, and we left feeling stuffed but happy. HUDA is a MUST-VISIT spot in the city. If you're a foodie or just looking for a great meal, look no further. The chef's creativity and passion shine through in every dish. Can't wait to come back and try more! 10/10 going there for wings again. Recommended dishes: Everything! But try the the wings, you won't regret it.

Some of the best burgers in the city in my opinion. Their fries are stellar too, and you have to get a cinnamon milk bun if you can make room for desert. The Mott burger is my favorite and the smash burger is also fantastic. I love that they carry Boylan sodas too. I haven’t had anything bad from here, and if you’re craving a really dang good burger, nay one of the best in the city, this is the place to go to (or Uber from like I do)

Butter's Soul Food To Go is a cozy counter-serve eatery in Brewerytown, Philadelphia, offering mouthwatering soul food for takeout. The menu features popular items like fried wings and shrimp, accompanied by delectable sides such as buttery baked mac and cheese, savory greens, and sweet candied yams. Additionally, the homemade desserts are a must-try, including double chocolate cake and sweet potato cheesecake.
Had a fried pork chop platter here with black eyed peas and rice, yams and a mini pie which was courtesy of them taking an hour to prepare a meal they told me would take 15mins.. I guess them accidentally giving people the wrong food orders had something to do with the delay, I was in there long enough to witness the confusion which I lightweight found hilarious but became quietly impatient. The pie was not good but the food was delicious. Pork chops were a bit over cooked but I enjoyed them, they were well flavored and so I'll be back. I'll be trying their banana pudding on my next go. Staff was friendly and atmosphere very welcoming.

Whiting lacks seasoning, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing for those individuals who prefer little to no sodium. Be prepared to “doctor” the fish up yourself or simply pair with sides that are well seasoned for a nice balance. The greens were the star of the show. No extra fluff. They had that old school taste I always look for when I eat anyone’s greens. Restaurant was empty, but Im sure Sundays are the moat busiest.

Food was horrible fish had no taste potato salad was missing eggs mustard and relish. Barbecue ribs tasted like nothing no flavor only flavor you tasted was the barbecue sauce and it wasn’t too good.. llama beans with rice the lima beans was horrible. The taste of the beans was so nasty.. I won’t be eating there no more. The only thing that was good was the service that’s it.

The ambiance at Butter's was relaxing, welcoming and nostalgic, wonderful! The service was accomodating, nice and courteous. The food was just ok. We had the turkey wings, mac/cheese, collard greens and chicken wings. The rich flavors one anticipates in soul food was missing. Many of the items on the menu weren't available. However, it was explained that they'd been closed for 3-days.

I was told it would take twenty minutes, but it toke thirty- five minutes. That's because it's a one man show doing it all.. Food was tasty but they need a lessen in health and safety first. Like wearing gloves. My biggest issue was the owner came right in without washing his hands and started handling raw chicken with no gloves on and then. If I was still working for the health department I would him a citation or shut him down. I personally won't be going back there. When your a small business and you

Pleasantly surprised. As this was my first time visiting I gave the initial greeting a pass. I've passed this spot many times and was grateful for the opportunity to finally see if Butter has the Butter. I ordered a ribs, macaroni and cheese, and candied yams platter. Again, I'm often hesitant to share about soul food spots as it can depend on the day but today Butters was on. Everything was good, the ribs tender, Mac and cheese was cheese and the yams were just right. From reviews others thought the platter was small, I think the portion was just right. Meal was under $20 and came with tea. I would go again.

Poi Dog Philly is a vibrant spot offering Hawaiian street food and poke bowls in a laid-back setting. Kiki Aranita and Chris Vacca introduced Philadelphians to Spam Musubi, a popular Hawaiian snack featuring canned meat, sushi rice, furikake, and nori. Alongside options like spicy ahi poke and Kalua pig plate lunch, the $3 Spam Musubi serves as a convenient grab-and-go power snack.
I have always been a big fan of the snack cart, but I couldn't always catch up with their schedule so I was thrilled when I heard they were opening a restaurant. Such a fresh space with great hand painting on the floor. They have some my favorites such as the plate lunch with the fried chicken, kalua pork, etc, but now they also serve other Hawaiian specialties and their tuna poke all the time. This place is a gift and a treat. This is some of the best food I have had in a little while. Thank you so much for this meal. The restaurant is tiny but super cute. I was with a friend and we ordered too much food which was a good thing. There was plenty of space open. We both got Mac salad which is a great creamy macaroni salad. I got the spam roll and something that was tomatoes and onions diced with salmon. Soooooo good. The entree I ordered was fired chicken. It was AMAZING! The Mayo sauce is really on point. The pickled cabbage was tart and wonderful. The rice was perfectly soft and well cooked. I can't say enough good. Everyone should swing by this place!

My first experience with Hawaiian food and it was delicious! My friend actually teared up with her first bite of the shoyu ahi poke bowl because it was exactly what she remembered for living in Hawaii. And I'm not normally a mac salad fan but I ate all of it. The moco loco and kalua pig portions are generous; the poke, while delicious, was definitely mostly rice. There was soy and chili pepper water to annoint things. We both had hibiscus tea, tart and refreshing. Will definitely return, and tell people to go!

Andy's Chicken is a no-frills take-out spot that has been serving delicious Korean fried chicken with sweet and spicy sauces, along with rice dishes for about four years. The staff is known for being welcoming and the food consistently excellent. The fried chicken is always crispy, especially when ordered with the sauce on the side, and everything is freshly made. Customers have had consistently positive experiences at this place, which may be due to avoiding peak busy hours.
This was my first time coming here to order for my large family. We were greeted in the front by a nice blonde woman. I'm so sorry for not getting her name. She was extremely nice and helped us place our large order. Andy was so nice and shy about taking his picture but, he is a good sport. Not happy🙄the pictures in the menu shows chicken wings but that's not what you get 🙁 you get half a chicken cut in halfs, bought sweet potato fries, got regular fries, wouldn't be back😡

Absolutely amazing chicken!! So crunchy and juicy!! All the people who work there are super warm and friendly. The lady at the counter took time out to let me sample the sauce (even though the phone was ringing and we were not the only customers). If you have a taste for Korean style fried chicken go to Andy's. You will not be disappointed at all. And she said about 25 minutes but called us back in about 10 minutes. A for taste A for sauce flavor A+ for customer service Every last person who work there spoke to us when we came In and when we left.

I tried this for the first time today the chicken itself is good chicken... I think it needed more sauce on mine I got sweet bbq. It is nice and crunchy. The onion rings are way to plain have no flavor at all. It’s not all that great for all the hype they receive . The place is very small inside also .

Southeast Asian restaurant
Nestled in a chic little café, Stock Rittenhouse offers a delightful array of pho, curry, and noodles that cater to various dietary preferences, including vegan and gluten-free options. One standout dish is the adaptable Lao curry Khao Poon; you can customize it with tofu or seitan for a plant-based meal or indulge in fried chicken or caramelized pork. The rice noodles ensure it's gluten-free while delivering rich flavors perfect for any time of day.
Absolutely!! The best ramen I've had in a while , a rich stock, pork was cooked on point fresh veggies&herb with a Kick of Jalapeno right to the mouth . What an amazing meal to start 2020, all the staff were super friendly,, I 100% reccomend this spot if you love ramen! thank for the experience!

I decided to stop in for lunch yesterday afternoon after realizing that wokworks was no longer at this location, and also after noticing what looked like huge round deep fried chicken cutlets on display in the window. It turns out that these were actually deep fried crispy rice balls. I decided to have the Thai chicken crispy rice salad, and honestly wasn't disappointed by it. Seating does appear to be somewhat limited, and I can easily see the space filling up with the lunch crowds. I did notice that they have noodle soups on the menu, and this is a great addition for the fall and upcoming winter, and I do plan on trying them the next time.

It was... pretty good. Nothing was bad, but it really expensive for fast casual. I like the southeast Asian twist but I feel like this place hasn't really found it's niche. Much better restaurants in the area, at better prices. It's worth a try though.

Great spot for a bowl of hot noodle soup on a cold day whenever you're around rittenhouse. The service was quick even at 12:30 on a weekday. Ordered the thai soup with thai grilled chicken. The broth reminded me of a creamy Tom kah soup, heavy on the basil. I am also not a huge chicken person, but the grilled thai chicken was delicious. Very tender and flavorful.

Be prepared for extremely long wait time (35+ minutes for take out), terrible customer service, and food so over seasoned it loses all taste. The manager mentioned in the other reviews let another person cut us in line for the last table (there are only 4), so we ended up waiting for 40 minutes for our food. Not only that, but the people who cut us for the table also got it before us. I had the crispy rice salad. Any flavor in the underlying dish was completely drowned in the overwhelming vinegar dressing. They forgot ingredients in the salad as well. To crown it all off, not only did it taste terrible, but there was a large piece of plastic in my food. This place sucks. It’s also overpriced. Save your $30 for lunch and spend it elsewhere.

The food at stock is rather quite delicious and the presentation is unexpected for a place that can serve food as quick as they do. The rice bowl with yellow curry, mint, grilled chicken (ugh it's so good I've considered a whole plate of it) really hits the spot on cold days. The spicy dishes have some heat although if you care for more, then just simply ask. Finally I've found that the Rittenhouse location simply nails the food better than the Fishtown one.
Stephen W — Google review
Ordered on Caviar, and I think this location's menu is even better than the Fishtown location's menu. If you're looking for a sandwich, the Philly is fantastic. My cold noodles arrived well refrigerated and very tasty. Finally the Cambodian Pork dip with cabbage was well spiced and filling. All in all, great prices for great meals.

Food is super tasty and the restaurant is Celiac/gluten-free friendly. I've eaten the peanut noodles with fried chicken more times than I care to admit and the good deal broth with grilled chicken couldn't be tastier. Plus the team working there is great!
