Sampan is a trendy Pan-Asian restaurant situated in Midtown Village, Philadelphia. Helmed by Chef Michael Schulson, known for his appearance on TLC's Ultimate Cake-Off, the eatery offers an extensive selection of authentic Asian dishes crafted with top-notch ingredients and presented with artistic flair. The menu includes small and large plates such as braised short rib lo mein and Kobe beef satay.
Sampan is my go to happy hour whenever I am back in town!!! I LOVE this place. I cannot say it enough! The edamame soup dumpling is my favorite thing on the menu I could easily eat 100 of them myself. The happy hour menu is a great way to share some stuff with your friends, taste some favorites and drink for cheap! I rave about this place to anyone who comes to Philly for any occasion. Graffiti bar is where I sat last time because happy hour is only at the front outside tables, the inside bar and graffiti bar in the back. Graffiti bar is such a hidden gem it’s down the ally and behind the main building and it’s completely under cover with air conditioning!! I could go on and on about how much I love this place so just got and try for yourself you will not regret it!

My birthday is today and I planned my whole trip around eating at Sampan! I’ve had cancer for the last 2 years and after finally being declared cancer free, wanted to eat here!! As always, it was a wonderful experience! Food, service and atmosphere was on point. Thank you, Drew! You were amazing!! As was the food!
Shilon S — Google review
My first time at Sampan and it was amazing. I made reservations for dining inside. I originally wanted to do happy hour but happy hour is first come, first serve and seatings are only outdoor, indoor bar, and the bar seating near the kitchen. At 4:45pm, it was pack so I decided to not partake in happy hour and just do dinner because I wanted to scratch this off the list. The atmosphere was really nice but it was super dark inside. A few older ladies were seated next to us and were struggling to see the menu. They had to use the flashlight on their phone just to look at the menu and another was using the candle as well. Our waiter Sarah was amazing and did a brief explanation of the chefs tasting menu but we decided not to opt in for that option. I had to start dinner off w a nice cocktail and got the Thai punch which was really sweet and delicious. During my dinner I decided to order the Ming mule and it was not good in my opinion (too acidic for me). With the appetizers, we started off w the cheesesteak bao buns which was 10/10 omg it was literally perfect I just needed a little bit more sauce and cheese in the inside. We ordered the soup dumplings which were tasty w the soy sauce but didn’t have enough soup in the inside. We also ordered the tuna cracker, my bf & I are a huge fan of tuna crispy rice which was PERFECT (will def go back and make sure to order extra). We ordered the crispy walnut shrimp which was ok, if it had more sauce it would’ve been better. The crispy Brussels sprout was to die for I absolutely love Brussels sprout and they executed my expectations. We ordered the beef rice noodle which was good as well but I wish we had siracha hot sauce (if you know then you know). We also ordered the kimchi fried rice which was good but I wish it was a tad bit burnt in my opinion but still delicious. To end dinner we ordered the mini ice cream cones which was the perfect amount of size and taste because we were super bloated. I will def be coming back! I give this restaurant a 10/10!!!!

Me and my dined in for anniversary. The food was amazing! We did the tasting menu and from first dish to last I was impressed! Portions sizes were great(even too some food home), taste was amazing, and service was quick! Meals come out as there don’t which he didn’t have an issue with and display was beautiful. Sara was server and did an amazing job guiding us through the menu and staying attentive with drink refills and any issues with the food. All around great experience, minus the fact of us needing to put a card down before we received any food. Not sure what the reason for this is, but not something I enjoy needing to do; this is the reason for the 4 star review.

Came during happy hour and ordered a ton of the menu to try. There were lots of delicious options, my favorite were the pork bao buns. It was busy inside so we were seated outside on the street side. The side walk is a bit slanted so you feel like you're tilted if you're seated facing the building. They also brought little ice creams with sparklers on top because it was my birthday.
Gabby A — Google review
Loved the chefs tasting menu option. $56 per person and you choose 7 dishes and the chef sends them out family style as they are made. The cocktails were very good. The waitress Izzy had good vibes and she was knowledgeable since she worked there for 5 years. I also liked the dark fluorescent wall paper on one wall which brought up the atmosphere to another level. I would definitely recommend this place. Everything we had was amazing.

Went to Sampan on a Saturday night with no reservation and was told it’d be a little over a two-hour wait. They texted us after about an hour, and when we came back, we were seated at the bar overlooking the kitchen. At first I was annoyed it wasn’t a regular table, but it ended up being a great spot to eat and watch them prepare the food. I had the edamame dumplings, roasted broccoli, salmon entrée, and Korean beef BBQ — all absolutely delicious. One of the most consistently great spots in Philly.
Mike S — Google review
Incredible meal and cocktails! Highly recommend the tasting menu to get the full experience — and it’s a great value. We asked our knowledgeable server to curate our selections, and he absolutely nailed it. Every course was perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. Would definitely come back!

Seafood restaurant
Oyster bar restaurant
Restaurant
Located in Center City, Oyster House has been serving East Coast-style seafood since 1976. The restaurant offers a variety of fresh seafood from the Atlantic Ocean, including pan-seared sea scallops and whole Maine lobster. With a menu that is updated daily to ensure the freshest local seafood, Oyster House is known for its raw bar, lobster rolls, and fisherman's stew.
There is really nothing that makes you satisfied like a good lobster roll. I was able to get the last one and it was so worth it. The octopus side dish with the peanut sauce was so delicious. Outstanding french fries as well. Would definitely come here again!
Jan D — Google review
Made it on a Saturday afternoon and got a seat at the bar; wine was chilled; beer was cold! Good start to pairing with New England clam chowder which was a perfect texture and, surprisingly, not light on the chunks of clam ($12). Calamari hot, crispy and tight ($15); grilled oysters ($18) were out of this world and should have ordered a second serving. The tastes were exciting and left you wanting to order more of them. Then, the topper... The TUNA POKE Bowl. Don't leave this restaurant without ordering one ($26 but worth it). It was so delicious, fresh and prepared perfectly with a good portion of fresh tuna. The waitress and hostess could use just a little more training on acknowledging patrons. Felt like more of a burden than a customer. The shuckers were super friendly and very upbeat!
K P — Google review
Highly recommend as everything we tried was absolutely delicious. They have a happy hour from 4-6pm. Recommend getting a dozen oysters but trying two of each of the specialty ones on the menu. My favorites were from Maine. Definitely consider for one or two guests to order multiple small plates and eat family style as you truly want to try all of the flavors. The octopus in ramen was tender and mouthwatering good. The tuna carpacchio was fresh and perfection with the saltiness of the capers and the citrus with the lime juice.
Susanna C — Google review
Great atmosphere, great service, and really good quality fish. This place gets packed so highly recommend making a reservation. If you have a vegetarian person or non-seafood person in your party, there are only two options on the menu for them to pick from, which are a burger and a salad. I wish they had a few non-seafood options to make it more inclusive and this place would be a 10/10.
Lauren C — Google review
There are quite a few fantastic raw bars in this part of town and Oyster Bar is arguably the best of the crop, wonderful decor, casual yet classy, great menu, friendly service. Had a great lunch here before leaving Philly and would certainly come back in the future. Btw, oysters shucked to perfection, no shell bits!
Jay S — Google review
Love this restaurant! The atmosphere and decor were lovely. Our server was fun and very knowledgeable with the menu. He provided great suggestions and spaced the courses out for us. The Grilled Octopus Ramen was the show stopper but the Samon Tartar was a very close second. Can't wait to go back again.
Tom K — Google review
Food was really amazing! We got the grilled oysters, fried seafood platter, and calamari. The staff were absolutely wonderful. They were so kind, attentive, and funny. Would definitely recommend.
Tylia G — Google review
This place serves some of the best oysters--freshly shucked right in front of you! Food: I came here during happy hour, and it was absolutely worth it. The oysters were fresh, affordable, and delicious. The oysters here tasted way better than the ones I ate in New Orleans. The mussels were also excellent--tender and flavorful. I ordered a lobster roll outside of the happy hour menu, and while they were generous with the lobster, the dish felt a bit dry and overpowered by too much sriracha, which masked the natural flavor of the lobster. Drinks: I ordered a Sazerac, and it was perfectly balanced. I really appreciate a well-crafted whiskey cocktail, and this one hit the mark. Atmosphere: The space was lively, nicely decorated, and very clean--perfect for a casual night out. Service: Excellent and attentive. The staff were friendly and checked in just the right amount. Overall: I had a great time here and highly recommend stopping by during happy hour if you can. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Philly. The bar

Tattooed Mom is a unique and vibrant bar located on South Street in Philadelphia. The eclectic decor features green walls adorned with art, old furniture, and an assortment of novelty items like plastic toys and temporary tattoos. The atmosphere is described as relaxed and hipster, with a punk-leaning crowd adding to the lively vibe. The menu offers a variety of food and drink specials, including an extensive selection of beers and creative cocktails that defy logical description.
One of the Last, One of the Best!! Years ago I discovered this place as an after work meeting place to sign papers and set weekly schedules in the days prior to always internet connected days . Stuck around one day until "Upstairs" opened and the rest as they say "Is History". When you walk in downstairs you get the vibe, plenty of tables to sit at, locals greet you friendly, but if you venture upstairs your greeted by one of the best cheap pool tables left on south street. The pace has an edge and it's not for everyone, yet everyone is welcome. It's an old dive bar in the best sense of the phrase. The soundtrack is eclectic, as well as the patrons. Behave yourself and have a good time. Bring a buck in quarters a sticker and leave your mark, because this place will truly leave a mark on you.

Cool bar I stopped in for a drink and a rest. They were already on my list due to their menu. I should've come the previous night for those perogies. Their veggie/vegan menu gets plenty of good reviews and I'm really disappointed I didn't order any food when I was there. I was still hungover and needed a liquid lunch instead. It was early and the few people there were mostly for said food. Service was good and attentive. I liked their golden bar top, and could see the future drunken pictures of me in their go-kart. I didn't get a chance to check out the upstairs area. They also have daily specials which would keep me coming back.

Really cool spot. Great vibes and decor. I can’t give you info on the drinks because I got a sulfide. But environment was fun and I bought a shirt bc it said FDT.
Sydney L — Google review
I heard a lot about this place, but thought it was going to be grungy inside. It’s the exact opposite. It’s a really cute and fun inside. I definitely was sleeping on this place. Went here on the late night on a holiday nonetheless and the food and service was on point. They cater to mixed diets which is great since I’m vegan and my friend isn’t. We both ordered the corn dogs as starters. He had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and I had the Beyond Mom’s Vegan Burger. We shared some fries. To drink we both had the Tiki Kitty. I never had a corn dog before and enjoyed it and so did my friend. He really liked his Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. At first he didn’t think it was that spicy, but the spice kicked in and he was like I feel the heat now. I was worried my beyond burger was going to feel like something I eat at home, but they put their own spin on it and it was yummy. The Tiki Kittys were good, but I can’t say I tasted the liquor like that. This is a great option for reasonable food and it’s great they are open late.
Reyna L — Google review
We had a couple of the drinks and pierogis. My favorite was the Mom’s Mule, great flavor combo. Great dive bar vibe with very friendly staff. Plenty of vegan food options.
Korbin S — Google review
I was craving a vegan cheesesteak on my way home from work today. I googled a search for it and this place was the closest and had excellent reviews on their vegan cheesesteak. It was the absolute worst one I’ve ever had in my life! And I was starving hungry! It was $18 for the cheesesteak and a bottle of Coke. I left a three dollar tip. This was takeout. I don’t know what kind of plant-based meat they used, but it was horrible. Even the roll just wasn’t good. It was like a day old roll. I’m really hugely disappointed for wasting my money. I ended up just picking it apart since there was mostly bread, and tossed half of it. I knew I I should have made that extra 1 mile trip and gone to Monster Vegan! I’m so sorry I didn’t!
SUSAN F — Google review
I came here late night after performing in a show SO HUNGRY! I wasn't sure if the kitchen was still open so I called while I was on the way. Bobby was on the other end of the phone with such great energy letting me know that the kitchen was closing soon but to come on in and he'll be at he door waiting to take my order! I went and was not disappointed. Bobby was waiting there with such a postivie demeanor. My order was put in immediately so I didn't miss the window. I ordered perogies and vegan cheese waffle fries. While I waited for less than 10 minutes, Bobby kept me company with great conversation and warm hospitality. I can't wait to go back and stay rather than take it to go.
Asha-Lé D — Google review
This place is so much fun! I went on a Saturday night with a friend. It was very crowded but we were still able to get seats near the bar. The drinks are so much fun and they also have non-alcoholic beer if you dont drink alcohol. Its hard not to look all over the place because its so decorated with art, stickers, etc. There is a pool table. The bathrooms are non-gender specific and this place is very LGBTQ friendly.

Italian restaurant
Restaurant
Osteria is an Italian restaurant located on North Broad Street in Philadelphia, offering a seasonal menu featuring homemade pastas, thin-crust pizzas, and wood-grilled meats. It is known for its rustic ambiance and casual bistro vibe. The restaurant is run by Marc Vetri, the talent behind the award-winning Vetri Ristorante, along with his proteges Jeff Michaud and Jeff Benjamin.
Osteria has become one of my favorite restaurants in all of Philly! The food, atmosphere, and service are all top notch. While I don't live nearby and can't reasonably stop in every week for happy hour or dinner, I find myself often dreaming of eating their chicken liver pasta (which has also captured my husband's taste buds even though he is not a fan of liver). Everything else we've tried on their menu has also been fantastic, including their cocktail selections. Happy hour gets filled up fast, so my tip would be to arrive early. Otherwise, their dinner service is also well worth the trip. I highly recommend Osteria for anyone who enjoys a "non-old school" Italian dining experience.
Cherry D — Google review
I’m a taddddd late to this review, but not late enough to absolutely RAVE about Osteria and our wedding day there! Fiona and Suzanne are without a doubt angels on earth!!! My husband Nick and I got married here on 4/19/24, and we just absolutely couldn’t have asked for a better venue and a better day. My husband and I both work in the wedding industry and we knew we wanted a little bit more of a unique venue for our own wedding. I came across Osteria after seeing someone we knew get married there and when we went to look, we fell in love! We originally had just the greenhouse booked, and after a few months, decided we wanted to do a full buyout. Without hesitation, Fiona and Suzanne immediately stepped in and made it happen with only 3 months before our big day! They answered every question we had, and I was able to go and meet with them to go over floorplan and any changes I wanted to make. Our guests were blown away by the food, drinks and the atmosphere at Osteria and they still talk about how they want to go back and try more of the menu and delicious drinks! My husband and I wanted a top notch experience not only for us but for our guests and they absolutely delivered! We knew the food would be incredible but we still were just blown away by how amazing it all was. The staff is incredible as well and we were so well taken care of! If you are even considering Osteria for your big day, it is the best decision you will make!!! Still to this day, my husband and I still talk about our wedding day and how we want to do it all over again! Thank you so much to Fiona, Suzanne, Martin and the whole team at Osteria for making our day truly unforgettable!
Janine I — Google review
We were so eager to try this place out as it came highly recommended. Sadly, I would say the experience was memorable for all the wrong reasons. We tried the beef tartare and the potato chips’ saltiness helped bring out the flavor. As we saw the nice oven, it was only appropriate we order pizzas. We had the margherita, carbonara, and Roma (with anchovies). The crust was a hit. We dis notice they did not use guanciale for the carbonara pizza. I would have been ok with pancetta too, but when we asked our server she noted it was their version of guanciale. I lived in Italy for five years and guanciale doesn’t look like bacon. The server wrongly assumed I would not know the difference. It would have been ok to admit you ran out of guanciale, but she stuck to her guns with the wrong response. I would say she avoided our table at all costs the entire evening up until I tried flagging her for dessert. We had the pistachio gelato, tiramisu, and affogato. Uneventful for dessert until our water glasses ran empty. It was then we noticed that our table was the only one without a bottle of water. We were also the only table without a bread basket. The general Manager, Kyle, came over to address these issues. He did the best he could given the situation. I appreciated it, but I truly think it came down to service in the end. We don’t want special treatment. Just the same as everyone else. A word of caution if you’re looking for Italian food authenticity too.
Mark B — Google review
Stopped in while visiting the area. Cool atmosphere and good food. We had the chicken Piccata and Veal Parmesan. Good flavor, the shrimp, chicken and veal were cooked well. The only reason I lowered the rating on service is that this place is BYOB. I'm told that's common in Philly and Chicago, but it's not something I've seen in a restaurant before. The food wwnt great with water, but I would have loved a glass of wine.
Jamie C — Google review
One of our favorite restaurants! Amazing happy hour and amazing dinner. We would come for the focaccia alone! We’re getting married here in a few months and the planning process with Osteria has been a dream. Could not recommend more!
Shannon K — Google review
Beautiful restaurant, I especially love the romantic atmosphere with warm lighting and floor to ceiling windows and curtains. The menu is great and the food is excellent. It’s perfect for a date night and group dining.
Z — Google review
We came here for the ricotta cheesecake and were disappointed they had no cheesecake at all. So we tried the apple upside down cake and it was awful. The apples were jelly-like and not fresh apples as you would expect in an upside down cake. The drinks were very good. The principessa tasted like a creamsicle. The raspberry gin sour is always a favorite! Some dishes on their website weren't available on their current menu. The Rigatoni, Branzino and pizza were decent. Service was average. Overall, I would rate this restaurant 4.2 stars!
Ashley M — Google review
happy hour is really amazing here! The food is definitely pricey otherwise, still yummy. I personally thought the chicken liver dish was very gamey, too strong for me. Cacio e Pepe was very heavy, not my favorite

I had a nice experience. The crab toast was good. My margarita pizza had the consistency of sauce to cheese was portioned well. The Brussels sprouts were charred nicely. My server Amber was really nice. Ask for her when you go. Great place to good with friends or a first date. It definitely passes the vibe check. You must check this place out

The ambience is really nice. It’s a bit dim but very chic and elegant. They have an indoor dining room, outdoor patio seating, and bar seats as well. We went there for happy hour and got their happy hour drinks and food. The drinks were pretty good and strong. The lamb meatballs (pictured) were okay, I found them to be a bit dry but not bad. The ricotta toast was really nice and that was my favourite. Would definitely recommend getting that when you go for happy hour. Overall, pretty nice vibe and decent food.

We had a wonderful dinner at Harp & Crown. We ordered the mushroom and truffle pizza, lamb meatballs, rigatoni pasta, and grilled octopus, along with their Sansom Spirit cocktail. Everything was excellent and the pizza, in particular, was outstanding: a perfectly baked Neapolitan pie with a thin crust and a rich mushroom-truffle flavor. The grilled octopus and meatballs were also delicious, and the cocktail complemented the meal nicely. The ambience was warm and inviting, and the place was clearly popular as it was lively and bustling throughout the evening. A great spot for both food and atmosphere!

We had such a lovely evening at Harp & Crown! From the moment we walked in, the cozy yet stylish vibe set the tone for a great meal. Our server was amazing — super friendly and genuinely helpful in guiding us through the menu. He suggested a few dishes, and we decided to go with his recommendations. From the small plates, we tried the pierogi, which was pretty good. However, the real showstopper was the pork spare ribs — hands down the best dish of the night! The meat was tender, packed with flavor, and had just the right amount of glaze. We also had the garlic prawns and chicken dumplings, both of which were delicious — perfectly seasoned and cooked just right. The food wasn’t the only highlight, though. The ambiance was amazing and the staff made us feel genuinely welcome with their warm hospitality and attention to detail. It’s one of those places that makes you want to stay a little longer just to soak it all in. Overall, Harp & Crown really delivered on great food, great service, and great vibes. We’ll definitely be back to try more of their menu next time!

Superb restaurant for a big group. It was easy to make a booking for 10 only two weeks before which was good. Our server was super friendly and attentive. The menu was great for a large group with lots of options so good for everyone. Food was delicious and the small plates worked really well as a starter. I’m big into pizza and can say their pizza was top tier.

Cool vibe…the ambiance was cool. It gave me the vibe of being in a hunted Manson (as you go downstairs) to the bowling alley. Now how cool is that. Downstairs was more chill and quit. What restaurant has bowling alley (not many)! Upstairs it was loud (Friday night). The ambiance was nice. I had just missed happy hour by 4 minutes. Good thing I did unless I would have not tried the Japanese sweet potato 🍠. That was so good. It was different. It was roasted with a crispy bottom. My friend and I had the drink called The Cure (scotch base) ginger-honey, smoked tea, and lemon. Now that drink was smooth.

Very cool vibe, perfect for a fancy night out with a date or a large group of friends. GET THE BRUSSEL SPROUTS. Honestly one of the best things on the menu. The salmon was good as well albeit a bit small. The next time I go, I'll be sure to get the tasting menu! It seems like a good deal for how many courses it is.

We were able to get a last minute late night reservation here which we were thankful for! I wanted a sit down meal after a long day. We got the steak, margarita pizza and brussel sprouts. Pizza and brussel sprouts were delicious but we did not like the steak. They were nice enough to take off the steak from the till. We couldn’t order anything else because the kitchen was closed (that was on us for the late reservation) but they said they would make it up to us when we visit back. Would def be back when we are visiting Philly again. Fantastic customer service and the restaurant is absolutely beautiful!

This place is something else! I absolutely love it, my partner and I are visiting Philly for the second time and we just found out about this restaurant! Shaun the server was genuinely amazing! He recommend the menu! We were almost at the end of Happy Hour, but we got to taste everything in the menu pretty much! The chicken tacos are to died for! The Margaritas are amazing, even the Sangria! I just want to go back and repeat it all again! We are definitely coming back soon!

Still 5 out of 5. I love this place and love the menu. The service is always 10 stars. The food is still amazing. The atmosphere is still the greatest. This is always my first stop whenever I’m back in town.

Absolutely amazing gluten-free menu! Highly recommend the shrimp tacos, churros, and a spicy jalapeño margarita. Our family loves Mission Taqueria - all the staff are friendly, the food is fantastic, and it’s in a great location.

Great place! Everything is gluten free, and they take reservations! We came as a party of 5 on a Friday evening at 6:45pm it wasn’t super crowded but by the time 7:30 pm rolled around it was crowded, so I would say after 7pm make sure to have a reservation! We got some apps to share and then got tacos for ourselves individually (it is 2 tacos per order). The Birria quesadillas were amazing! The calamari & empanadas were also really good! We also got the pitcher of mango pineapple margs and the green juice margs both were amazing and the green one was so fresh and earthly we loved it! The vibes were nice a little all over but it worked well. Lastly, the churros were amazing and so happy they are gluten free as well!!

Bar-Ly Chinatown is a vibrant sports bar located just steps away from the Philadelphia Convention Center, making it an ideal spot for both locals and visitors. With over 60 beers on tap and a full liquor selection, this lively venue offers an impressive array of American-Asian pub fare that caters to all tastes. Guests can enjoy watching their favorite sports events on nearly 37 large HD TVs, ensuring they never miss a moment of the action—especially with eight NFL ticket packages available.
Bar-Ly Chinatown is serving up some incredible food! Their sriracha wings were some of the best I’ve had. Crispy, sauced to perfection and a nice kick. The salt & pepper wings were my friend’s favorite, they had jalapeños and onions on the side for the perfect bite. Their pizza and fries were also solid. I wasn’t the biggest fan of my margarita, but their lychee lemonade was yummy (we asked for half the amount of syrup in it so it wasn’t as sweet). Service was attentive and friendly. Tons of TVs in there, perfect for a game day place. I will definitely be back in the future!

Great Happy Hour & Even Better Pizza Loved the menu and happy hour deals—$46 for 4 items! The cheese pizza was genuinely the best I’ve ever had: thin crust, crunchy (not burnt), and the perfect sauce-to-cheese ratio. I ended up ordering a full-size one after trying the happy hour slice. Philly egg rolls were also good. Service was slow but friendly. Parking is tough, and the music is pretty loud, but it’s a fun sports bar vibe overall. Worth it for the food

I actually really like this place! The vibe was really good and perfect for hanging out with friends. I got oysters and it was ok. Even though some of my food was totally forgotten for like 40 min but the quality of food was ok overall. And my favorite part of this bar is that they have Vietnamese food available. Also somehow there was a trivia night when I was there. It was really fun time!

Pretty cool place to have a drink & taste some Asian infused bar food. The Peking Bao Bun sliders we're my favorite of the things I sampled. The bun was so soft & yummy! The crab ravioli was just 'okay'. I'm not sure, yet if I liked the dipping sauce it came with it not.

Tonight on 10/18, My husband and I decided to go to china town for a sweet treat. He decided since we were parked near bar-ly , he wanted to give it a try, since he has seen good reviews. We decided we would go up to the bar and get a drink. Everything was going so well based on our first expression on the atmosphere. Until suddenly everything went to crap when the bartender opened up his nasty big mouth. As i was looking over the menu, i felt rushed to decide on my drink. His attitude and his overall demeanor was the nastiness i have ever seen in customer service. I thought maybe he was just having a busy night or maybe he probably hasn’t been getting laid. My husband asked about a specific drink and how much it was. He ignored us and printed out the tap and gave us the drink with two dirty shot glasses. My husband decided that he would just go ahead and pay for it. I insisted he didn’t due to his lack of customer service and how ignorant he was when he made us rush through the menu to make us our first drinks with added on unnecessary commentary that we didn’t ask for. When he came back to grab for the tap, I told him you “ you can take the bottle back we don’t want it” he snatched the tap and the bottle with such anger while saying things under his breath. Whatever you wanted to say honey, you definitely could have said it louder so we could hear you. Anyways, based off of the bartender and his nasty attitude, we will not be going back to bar-lay or referring them to our friends and family. I hope buddy learns that if you want to make a decent paycheck, you have to work on your attitude because not earning tips in this economy won’t get you very far, but what do I know, I don’t make drinks for a living.

Stumbled onto this place because I was staying across the street. Came here late night Saturday then ended up coming back the next day for football. It's stunningly awesome. Has the perfect mix of your local pub, a craft beer spot, and a chill sports bar. Tons of tvs and a really good beer list. The late night lo mein was great. Most importantly, the staff and vibe are just perfect. Everyone is nice, and it feels like a family spot in the best way, where everyone is welcome. It's a great example of how a combination of things that don't really make sense on paper work out in reality to create a place I'll look forward to coming back to whenever I'm in Philly.
Greg H — Google review
(Google translate) It was close to the Airbnb we were staying at, and it was a good choice. The menu was quite extensive and there was plenty of beer to choose from. The waitress who served us was very friendly and assertive, even though we were there on a game day. The only downside was the bathrooms, which were too small for the number of people and a bit dirty.
Daniel M — Google review
The bartenders usually see when you’re almost done with your drink and ask for the next one. Even when busy, awesome. Food tastes great and is relatively quick. The atmosphere is great. They attract good conversationalists for football. Happy hour 7 days a week. Bartenders are pet cool. NFL Sunday ticket.

Nestled in the heart of Philadelphia, Bob and Barbara's Lounge is a beloved dive bar that exudes character and charm. With its eclectic decor reminiscent of an eccentric aunt’s living room—think mismatched furniture and disco balls—it invites you to unwind with a refreshing Lizard Punch or indulge in the iconic beer-and-shot special featuring Pabst Blue Ribbon paired with Jim Beam.
Nice place and the bartender was good. They had people playing jazz that was a pleasant bonus.

i love this place! this is my neighborhood spot--truly has some of the best bartenders in the city and a diverse clientele. i've had many, many interesting conversations here with both staff and patrons and have also met many new friends. and they serve their citywide ($5) (which they invented btw) with a PBR ($3 a can), which is the superior choice. i'm a single woman and usually go to this bar alone. whenever i've had problems with men here (happens from time to time, not the bar's fault), the bartenders have ALWAYS had my back (shout out to my girl, Kelly!!) both of the doormen do an excellent job of keeping things safe and in control inside the bar too. the food from their restaurant next door is exactly what you need after a night of drinking, and the events B&B holds are the shit. they have the best karaoke night in the city, and the drag night is absolutely worth checking out. the live music and dj's also never disappoint. and during football season, they have the games on (go birds!) it's a classic dive bar, maybe one of THE dives in the city. a MUST visit for any dedicated PBR-head. 10/10. oh! and also the bathrooms are clean!!!! what more could you want?? ps. it's cash only but there is an atm inside

Restaurant
Bud & Marilyn's is a retro-style eatery and bar that offers updated American classics in a quirky setting. The restaurant, along with its sister establishments, Little Nonnas and Barbuzzo, provides daily dinner specials for two through delivery or takeout. This includes dishes like buttermilk fried chicken and stuffed meatloaf served with sides such as garlic mashed potatoes and roasted veggies, plus dessert.
My wife and I came to Bud and Marilyn’s on a Saturday morning for brunch. We were in the city for a matinee show and made a reservation a week in advance. We were seated right away. The front of house staff was very friendly and engaging. We were given ample time to decide and order without feeling ignored. The cinnamon roll arrived about 5 minutes after ordering it and it was delicious! Definitely worth sharing. I ordered the sausage and biscuits and my wife ordered the Croque Madame which was a daily special. Both were fantastic. The biscuits were not dry and the gravy had a great flavor without being overly salty. The bread on the Croque Madame had a little sweetness to it with great balance to the ham and cheese. Overall, everything was great and would highly recommend!
Bill M — Google review
Dropped in for brunch and appreciated the relaxed vibe. It wasn’t crowded when we arrived, so we were seated quickly—always a win. The highlight? Hands down the cinnamon roll. Soft, moist, packed with flavor, and surprisingly good even with raisins (which I usually avoid). It’s absolutely worth a return visit on its own. As for the meal: I had the chicken and waffle. The chicken was tender, but lacked seasoning—it needed a boost from salt, pepper, and hot sauce to really come alive. The waffle had a solid soft crunch— nice balance, and the fried egg was perfectly cooked. Drinks were good, but since I ordered a French 75, hard to say much—it’s not a cocktail that’s easy to mess up. Would I go back? Maybe, if I’m nearby. I’d try something different next time, but I’d definitely order the cinnamon roll again.

Fantastic American comfort food experience. The retro diner vibe was a fun touch, and it felt both stylish and fun. We ordered the Bud's Double Patty Burger and the Shrimp Po Boy Buns, and both were excellent. The burger was juicy and flavorful, everything you want in a classic. The shrimp po boy buns were great with crispy shrimp, fresh fixings, and perfectly buttered potato rolls made for a delicious bite. Service was friendly and efficient, adding to the overall positive atmosphere. We'd definitely recommend Bud & Marilyn's for a satisfying and enjoyable meal in Philadelphia!

After a long day of design work, it was only right to fill our bellies. We attempted to dine at a familiar restaurant, but due to the start of Sips, downtown was CROWDED. I’ve never seen so many people. Any whooooo, after getting through the crowd, we ended up at Bud & Marilyn’s for friend chicken, a side of Caesar and club soda to wash it all down. Service was great, the suggestions were a hit, and our bellies were satisfied.

I had the fried chicken and a Bloody Mary. The chicken was excellent—crispy, juicy, and a very generous portion (half a chicken, cut in pieces). The slaw and house-made pickles on the side were fresh and balanced, perfect palate cleansers. The Bloody Mary came with a pickled pepper and paired really well with the meal. I’d definitely come back anytime I’m in Philly.

Double Knot is a Japanese restaurant located in Midtown Village, offering two distinct dining experiences. The all-day cafe on the main floor serves rice and noodle bowls, while transforming into a lively bar scene in the evening. Meanwhile, the izakaya below offers a different menu with sushi and robatayaki dishes. The cafe space provides an intimate setting with an espresso menu featuring bold drinks from local roasters.
This is my second time here, my first experience was a few years back and it was wonderful. Myself and three friends wanted to dine here while visiting Philly and this was a good choice. Our waiter Mike was so very pleasant he made our experience so worth while. He was very fluent with the menu options and steered us in the right direction with our food choices. We ordered multiple dishes to share which is always a good thing to do. Edamame to start, those were super delicious seasoned perfectly. The spicy baked scallop and crab my fav so delicious as well. It was the tables fav as well because everyone ordered that dish. Very appealing as well. A good fried rice is always a plus , we chose the mushroom truffle fried rice and the Japanese fried chicken to pair it with , good pairing. Wild mushroom gyozas were apart of the spread as well. Last but not least the broiled oysters , super bomb! All of drinks were perfect as well with our dishes. Please be aware it is very dark in there. Overall we had a grand time!

My first time here and I loved it! The only thing is the seatings are sooooo closed to each other it feels really tight. We decided to have a seat at the love chair for a more intimate happy hour experience even though it’s besides the restroom but it didn’t bother us. The prices were reasonable and I love how if you have a seat at a happy hour table you can also order from their standard menu. Let’s take a deep dive on everything I tried. The love knot cocktail was sooo good it reminded me of a lemon drop. The shrimp tacos were really gooooood. The edamame dumpling was my absolute favorite because I loveeeee truffle flavor. The shrimp tempura was good as well I just wish there was spicy mayo we could’ve add on top, the spicy tuna was spicyyyyy but flavorful and delicious! The tuna crispy rice was another one of my favorites I love the two textures together of the crispy rice and spicy tuna. The oysters was another good one it had a burst of spicy flavor with a nice buttery taste to the oyster. & to end my meal I finished off with a cocktail I forgot the name of it but it was a similar taste to the rose cocktail but a little more sour. All in all our server Olivia was amazing the service was top tier, food was delicious for happy hour prices! Another thing I would like to add is I collect matches from restaurants that I’ve tried and this restaurant was the only one on this block that did not have any.

We came to Double Knot for our 5 year anniversary after having multiple people recommend it to us, and we did not leave disappointed. The atmosphere was so warm feeling I loved the underground sort of feel, though I wish there was a smidge more space between tables as we felt a little cramped. We had actually gone to Sampan last year and did the chefs tasting menu, so decided to do the same at Double Knot. You get 10 dishes. We chose the Tuna Tartare for our cold, not my personal favorite but still very good. Wagyu soup dumplings for our small which similar to Sampan their dumplings are delicious. We actually got 3 robatayaki because of an accidental miscommunication so we got the Tokyo scallion, lamb chops, and salmon scallops which we agreed was our favorite thing as it was full of flavor and melted in your mouth. For the crispy we got the Japanese Fried Chicken which was my second favorite it was so crispy and had some tangy flavor to it, it paired very well with the aioli it came with. We did pork tonkatsu for the meat, and you can't go wrong with a good pork tonkatsu. For the fish we did the Japanese Scallop, and as someone that typically doesn't love scallops they were very good. Our side was the shrimp udon mazeman, which my partner really loved, they kept saying how delicious it was. We got the yellow tail sashimi which the orange and the Serrano pepper it comes with really paired well together. For our sushi we went with the Double Knot Big Eye tuna, which may have been the best sushi I've ever had. Our meal finished with our dessert a miso and caramel ice cream which was such a delicious blend of sweet and savory. Another absolutely wonderful dinner from Schulson collective, with a great atmosphere, excellent friendly service, and delicious food. I personally prefer Sampan just a smidge above Double Knot, but still very much enjoyed Double Knot.

Went here for my birthday and it didn’t disappoint. The ambiance was so so so nice. We did the tasting menu, which is honestly the only way to go in my option. Every single but was just incredible. I honestly don’t think I could pick a favorite. Dishes came out fast but not too fast. And the value here is nuts. I don’t think you’ll find a better dining experience in Philly for such a price.
Alexander W — Google review
- Service: Fast and friendly. They are very knowledgeable about their menu and their food. - Ambiance: Very nice ambiance but it's very dark. It makes me feel like I'm in Diagon Alley in Harry Potter. - Food: There're two prices for tasting menu- $69 & $79. $79 offers more quality of meat and cut (?) if I remember what our waitress said right. However, we just went for a la carte since we had a late lunch. - For robatayaki: We got ribeye scallions and scallops. The ribeye is so tender! Nice charcoal grill taste added to it, and I didn't know scallions could be paired so nice with beef. Scallops are sweet and slightly salty which is perfect. - Specialty sashimi: We got Toro and Yellowtail. I love the Toro more, somehow it's thicker and the soy sauce with wasabi going so nice together. Yellowtail dish was overpowered by the yuzu and citrus sauce. The selections of special sashimi are pretty decent and very refreshing. - The other dishes we ordered were just alright, they didn't impress at all. - Overall, $175 included tax and tips for this whole meal but still left me a bit hungry, so I would say this restaurant definitely lean into more expensive side. We were also excited for the miso soft-served ice cream but unfortunately, they were out of it, which is weird for a Friday night. Easy to make reservations. Hard to find parking. I would recommend it for people who want to experience new and nice restaurants in Philly. For me myself, I think it's a nice experience but not impressive enough to come back soon.

If you were looking for it, you would walk by it. It’s a door to enter this grand of a restaurant! They have a downstairs and a bigger dinning area in the back of where you enter. The Japanese cuisine is good. I enjoy myself every time I go to this lil spot. Oh and they have Happy Hour, ting.
Shelly R — Google review
This spot is a must for happy hour - their menu is fantastic. Everything I tried was delicious and the prices were unbeatable. I ordered the Kim chee fried rice, the salmon scallion robatayaki, the Japanese fried chicken, and the shrimp tempura roll. Every dish was flavorful, and the smaller portions made it easy to sample multiple items. I shared two dishes with a friend, and she also ordered two additional happy hour plates for herself. We left feeling full but not overly stuffed - the perfect balance - and all at a great price. The only downside was that the bar seating felt a bit tight during happy hour, but considering how packed it was for a Tuesday, it’s easy to see why.

Chef Christopher Kearse presents an array of French contemporary plates, including favorites like wagyu beef tartine, souffle pancakes with citrus curd, and jambon-beurre with duck prosciutto.
Had a wonderful experience at this French restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, even the bread was memorable. The service was excellent and made our visit even more enjoyable. The only thing I’d say could be improved is the Sunny B cocktail, I couldn’t really taste any alcohol in it, which was a bit surprising. But overall, my girlfriends and I had a fantastic time. From start to finish, Forsythia delivered what I would consider one of the most elegant, yet simple fine dining experience we've ever had. The restaurant was beautifully constructed, with aesthetically pleasing decor spread all throughout where the lighting was warm and the seating spacious, providing a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The service provided by Andrianna was reflective of what exemplary service looks like, for she was consistently sweet, friendly, funny, and understanding; her warm and kind smile helped us feel welcomed and helped us get comfortable with our little 22 month old child. I want to take this moment to thank you, Andrianna, for helping provide us with such a memorable birthday celebration experience to end our little trip. Now lets talk about the food. We opted for the tasting menu which was a surprise and based on chef's choice. We started off with the Escargot a la Provencale, which was creamy and had a nice textural contrast, but mild in flavor. I had a bite of escargot that had a bit of sand in it, but that seemed to be a solo incident for the rest of them were fine. Andrianna was kind enough to convey that to the chef who was empathetic and receptive, which highlights just how seriously they take constructive criticism and how they stride to provide the best dining experience possible, reflective of what 5 star dining looks like! We also had the cod beignets, japanese eggplant crepe, deviled eggs, and gazpacho, which they each provided such a fun and melodic contrast in terms of texture, flavor, and artistic presentation: the gazpacho was cold and tangy (perfect for my pregnant wife haha), the cod beignets were warm and fluffy, and the Japanese eggplant crepe and deviled eggs were rich and creamy. The main course was the duck confit, which was not only perfectly crispy, but still maintained its moist interior which is incredibly difficult to pull off. This highlights the masterful cooking technique that the chef was able to infuse each of the courses with, making every one of them a beautiful work of art in terms of both presentation and flavor. We ended the night with a Baba Au Rhum and Popcorn Cheesecake, which were both aesthetically beautiful, but on the sweeter side which boils down to just personal preference (many Asians are used to desserts that are not too sweet). At the end, they provided a tailored menu highlighting the courses that were served, and a sweet happy birthday message with our names on the menu. They also provided a very sweet yet simple birthday card with all the staff's individual messages saying happy birthday. We've dined at a lot of fine dining restaurants in the past, some that even have Michelin Stars, but this was by far the most personalized, welcoming, and elegant dining experience we've ever had. The price was extremely reasonable and the selections were generous. Our only suggestion is that the first courses were served quite rapidly, which gave the unintentional sense of feeling rushed even though we both know that was not their intention. I also empathize the desire of serving everything fresh and optimally warm, so I understand how difficult it can be to time things appropriately, especially if the restaurant was busy. Nonetheless, everything else was flawless and I can confidently recommend the tasting menu at Forsythia to anyone who is in the area. Thank you to everyone at Forsythia for being so professional, friendly, and welcoming; thank you for giving us the perfect dinner to end our little birthday celebratory trip! Will definitely be back in the future to relive such an amazing evening and to try out all the many other wonderful selections Forsythia has to offer! Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:

Absolutely amazing team! Can’t even begin to describe how kind and upbeat everyone was! John was an amazing server and made sure we were settled with a drink and food ordered. The whole venue was ready to service and checked in quick with customers and us. Highly recommend for their cocktail and wine list, food was also very good.

Forsythia: A Culinary Revelation in the Heart of Philadelphia Last night, my family and I—my wife, our two daughters (16 and 13), and two dear friends visiting from out of town—experienced what can only be described as a gastronomic masterpiece at Forsythia. Nestled in Old City, this unassuming French-inspired gem doesn’t just serve food—it orchestrates flavor. At first glance, the menu reads like a study in simplicity: chicken, beef, scallops, fish. But don’t be fooled. Each dish is a revelation. The chicken, which my daughters declared the best they’ve ever had in their lives (and I wholeheartedly agree), was a triumph of technique and soul. The beef? Sublime. The scallops? Ethereal. The fish? A symphony of delicate textures and bold, clean flavors. Every bite was a masterclass in balance, restraint, and brilliance. We raved about the meal all the way home. The plating was elegant without pretension. The flavors were bold yet nuanced. Every detail—from the seasoning to the temperature to the pacing of the courses—was executed with precision and care. It’s clear that nothing lands on the table without intention. Chef Christopher Kearse is a magician. Trained in some of the world’s most elite kitchens, he brings not just technical prowess but a rare emotional intelligence to his food. You taste his vision. You feel his passion. And you leave Forsythia not just satisfied, but transformed. This is, without question, my favorite restaurant in Philadelphia. It’s not just a meal—it’s an experience. Forsythia is where culinary artistry meets hospitality, where every dish tells a story, and where even the simplest ingredients are elevated to the divine. Eat here now. Forsythia is not to be missed. Not today. Not ever.

La Chinesca is a Mexicali dining experience located in a renovated former Jiffy Lube station, offering a cool retro-chic atmosphere. The menu draws inspiration from Northern Mexico's Baja region and features classic Mexican dishes like tacos and carne asada fries, alongside Chinese-American bites such as egg rolls and fried wontons. The seasonal food and cocktail menus offer spicy options, making it an ideal spot for both Mexican staples and Chinese-inspired dishes.
Everyone should go here! Everything on the menu is so so good and the service/staff is so amazing. Drinks are fantastic as well. They have outdoor seating in the front and the back and often host cool events. 5 stars is well deserved.

This is a properly hyped restaurant! The atmosphere is fun, but relaxed. The menu is curated and intentional. The service was attentive, not rushed. Every bite of food was delicious - not one bad bite. I was blown away. I went with a pescatarian friend, so I did not eat a meat dish. We ordered the wonton chips and three dips (red salsa, salsa verde and duck sauce) the chips were crispy and salty, and the dips were so well done. We ordered the tuna tostada which was a great mix of texture and flavor. The macha crisp had great spice and the tuna was delicious. We ordered the fish tacos and the avocado tacos - both different and delicious. The orders had three tacle each of small corn tortillas, the fish was lightly spicy, and the avocado was fried but refreshingly light. For drink I had their take on a dirty martini which was an elevated and interesting experience for a simple cocktail. Finally we ended with 3 church's and chocolate sauce, the churros were light and airy on the inside, crispy and sugar coated on the outside and the chocolate sauce was great quality. Altogether our meal was $55 per person and the portions were filling. I was pleasantly surprised by the restaurant meeting it's very highly hyped expectation. I'll go again and you should feel compelled to try it out!

My partner had a birthday brunch at La Chinesca in the summer. We had a party of eight and brought our own dessert (lemon tiramisu). I ordered the salt and pepper squid caesar salad based on a recommendation from a friend. The salad was fantastic and big enough to share between two people! Also pictured is the churro french toast and the burrito mojado. The plated the tiramisu really well too. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the place, and I’m looking forward to my next visit!

La Chinesca is trying to bring Mexican and Chinese fusion together. They say their food is based in Mexicali, which is a city in northern Mexico with the biggest Chinese immigrant population! We got Tijuana street dog as appetizer, and let me tell you, this is a must get! The sausage was juicy in a mixture of chilis and cilantros, almost similar to the toppings of banh mi. For the two mains, we got grilled duck quesadillas which mimic Peking duck with its oyster sauce and salsa macha. I think, personally, the duck didn’t stand out and was shadowed by the sauce. The char siu tacos were a bit dry and would benefit from a salsa. On the good note, the customer service was great. They offered my puppy some water while we sat outside in the patio. I’d go back again and try other things for sure.

Went before a concert next door at Union Transfer. Everything was delicious!! We had to sit at the bar b/c of reservations, but loved it just the same, and had great service! We just ordered a bunch of apps and two types of tacos to share between three people, oh, and the tres leches for dessert, which was melt-in-your-mouth good. Will definitely go back!

Wow! Came here for the first time and loved it- one of the best margs I have had in a while. I got the avacado taco which was phenomenal!!!! My boyfriend enjoyed the Burria taco and carnitas taco. We also loved the fried wonton chips. Everything was so good and we will be back for more. As for the atmosphere, there is a front patio as well as back patio. It was nice and shaded in the back with turf grass and comfy cushioned benches and chairs. Plenty of space back there. The service was great and the chef even gave us a complimentary taco. Will 100% be back!

French steakhouse restaurant
Bar Lesieur offers a delightful atmosphere with charming design and lighting, making it an ideal spot for a romantic evening, special occasion, or casual night out. The restaurant specializes in French cuisine and boasts an impressive cocktail selection. Guests have praised the attentive and accommodating staff. Dishes like tuna crudo, coquilles Saint Jacques, pork chop, duck, short ribs, mushroom tart, goat cheese crepe, small side salad and halibut have been highly recommended.
One of the nicest dining experiences I’ve ever had. The atmosphere was extremely comfortable and relaxing yet still fancy and higher end feeling. The food was excellent however don’t expect large portions. The dining experience puts you in a place to appreciate the food you are eating and ordering. It’s best to take your time eating and really enjoy the flavors/textures and understand how they go together. The menu didn’t explain exactly everything on the dish which made it a nice surprise when eating. The staff was extremely friendly and made sure food was delivered quickly.

Very cute small spot! Had really high expectations from the many insta posts I have seen. Loved the atmosphere and the waiter was super nice. The onion crepe app and the cauliflower gratin were our favorite things for the night! They were packed with flavor and tasted great. We were a little disappointed with the shrimp dumplings and the salmon. The dumplings were missing spices or something as they were really lacking flavor. The salmon looked promising portion wise but did not taste fresh at all. It was pretty inedible. The filet was delicious and the mushroom side was also pretty good. Seems as though the seafood is not the way to go here but everything else was pretty good.

I’ve been downstairs to Giuseppe & Sons so many times and wanted to give Bar Lesieur a try! The ambiance is great for a date night, filled with warm moody lighting. Unfortunately, the food didn’t match the atmosphere. We started with an espresso martini, which was fine. I much preferred my second drink, Queen Bee. We then got a caesar salad, we did not like it. It tasted watery like the lettuce was washed but not fully dried before putting the dressing on. Also, no croutons. We got the crab cake which we did enjoy. Had a nice crisp on the outside. $25 for one crab cake with no sides was pretty outrageous though. The mac & cheese was delicious! Lastly, we got the burger. I found it to be overcooked and didn’t have great flavor, my friend thought it was good. The fries were very crispy and tasty. Overall, for the prices and portion size, I was not impressed and unfortunately will not be coming back.

Went here on a Friday around 5pm because it was on a list of great happy hours. Our party of three was led to a back room past a bunch of empty tables, which left a sour taste in my mouth. But I said nothing because we weren’t going to be there more than a hour. Atmosphere was nice. Gets a little loud when full but what place doesn’t. The Mac& cheese was delicious. The HH wine is cheap and not awful. Spent $100 and headed out to dinner.

I took my bestfriend here for her birthday back in February, it was fantastic! I usually don’t post reviews but this restaurant deserves alllll the recognition. I am a huge steak fan. I have been to numerous incredible steak houses, this for sure was the best ribeye I’ve ever had! The Mac&cheese was delicious and creamy. Our chicken dish was juicy with crispy skin. The tuna appetizer was incredibly fresh with light citrusy flavor. We actually order a second round of tuna because it was good. lol. Our sever was very attentive as well as management. I can’t wait to come back!

I decided to check off a spot from my Resy list and headed to Bar Lesieur. For a Wednesday night, it was pretty quiet—likely due to the midweek timing and the nice weather drawing people outdoors. Although I had a reservation for a table, I opted to sit at the bar instead. The bartender was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, walking me through the cocktail menu and offering some great recommendations. I tried the French Bird, the Bourbon Beurre Blanc (their twist on an Old Fashioned), and the Espresso Martinique. The first two were excellent—balanced and inventive. The Espresso Martinique was good, though the coconut note gave it an unexpected twist that may not be for everyone. For food, I started with the shrimp dumplings in lobster bisque, which were rich and flavorful. I followed that with the roasted fluke served with mushrooms. The fish was perfectly cooked and well-seasoned, and the mushrooms were a standout—an absolute treat for any mushroom lover. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and would definitely return, especially for happy hour. They offer a few unique items then that aren’t available during dinner service, which makes it worth a second visit.

Came for happy hour, there were some seats at the bar but filled up quick. I enjoyed the raspberry beret. The mac and cheese was one of the best I’ve ever had. If was going straight home I would’ve gotten it to go. Service was a bit of a miss for me I feel like I had to wait a good while to ask for the check or to even get checked in on. Otherwise it was great.

I’m usually not overly satisfied with the service I get while dining out (being in the industry and knowing how things run and how they should operate). But, my server Rianna was excellent from start to finish. She was very attentive, warm & welcoming, and very well spoken. I haven’t felt so taken care of in a while (I go out to eat often). The food was pretty good. I favored the Beef Tartare over the Salmon Tartare (both being good). They were generous portions for the happy hour menu. I had the pork tenderloin which was a great dish. I would definitely go back.

Nestled behind the vibrant Sampan restaurant, Graffiti Bar is a cozy outdoor oasis that invites you to unwind year-round. This hidden gem features a charming 30-seat patio adorned with colorful graffiti, creating an inviting atmosphere for guests. Since its launch in April 2010, it has become a beloved spot for sports enthusiasts thanks to its TV setup and daily Happy Hour specials.
Stopped by for a nightcap - and so happy we did. Felt a little odd squeezing down that skinny alley, but enjoyed the artwork. The door is all the way at the end on the right. Loved the portal windows to see what we were getting into. Bartender was fabulous. Drinks were innovative and fun. Would love to come back to try the food. Very fun!

I had high hopes for this spot—the atmosphere is absolutely beautiful. It’s a relaxing and quiet place, even when it gets packed, which made for a pleasant dining experience. The staff were wonderful: attentive, friendly, and always checking in to make sure we were comfortable. Service was definitely one of the highlights. The food, unfortunately, didn’t live up to its presentation. We tried a variety of dishes from their menu, which they have other menu for vegetarian and gluten-free options—something I appreciated for accessibility. That said, the quality and flavor were hit or miss. The kimchi rice unexpectedly came with shrimp, which wasn’t listed on the menu, and it lacked flavor. The broccoli was bland, and the noodles were dry with barely any seasoning. On the brighter side, the chicken on a stick and the bun sandwich were both excellent—full of flavor and perfectly cooked. Those two dishes really stood out. Their drink menu is surprisingly more extensive than their food offerings, and the drinks themselves were great. One thing to note: they need to keep a card on file for an open tab, which could be a small inconvenience depending on your visit. Overall, while the service and drinks were impressive, I wouldn’t return for the food. It looks much better than it tastes.

Barclay Prime is a high-end steakhouse and lounge located in the old Barclay building, known for its contemporary library setting. The restaurant offers a luxurious dining experience with leather banquettes, marble surfaces, and elegant chandeliers. Known for its selection of steaks, including Japanese wagyu, the menu also features caviar service and options from the raw bar. With a AAA Four Diamond designation, it's considered one of Philadelphia's top steakhouses.
We had a great night at Barclay Prime. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was incredible, and the service was top-notch. We kicked things off with some drinks: I had the Metropolitano, which was awesome, and my friends tried the BP Old Fashioned and a dirty martini. We started with a shrimp cocktail that was out of this world, and they also loved the oysters. For the main course, I went with the 12 oz. American Wagyu New York Strip, cooked to perfection. And we topped it all off with the banana pudding crème brûlée for dessert—absolutely delicious! Everything about the experience, from the atmosphere to the food, was spot on.

Came to celebrate my birthday, Beautiful space with a classy ambiance, the service was immaculate, our server said he'd been there 20 years and I could tell. The bread? So so good. Hamachi Crudo was a bit lifeless and the ponzu? Sauce was a bit thick for me. The wagyu sliders were juicy and delicious. The chicken entree was soooo unique in flavor I really enjoyed it, but unfortunately I was super disappointed in my filet, especially for a steakhouse. The char was nice but overall way too salty, and I asked for medium, it was borderline rare, I couldn't even finish it. But the server brought a yummy birthday pastry and that kinda made up for it. Drinks were a bit watery but we got a Mule which wasn't on the menu so maybe just not something they make a lot.

Amazing food! I had the Waygu and rare aged blue cheese. Should have had the meat alone to really enjoy the steak unaltered. Old fashioned was also very tasty. Expensive but very good. They let you pick from a set of knives and explain the strengths of each. The scallops were the best I've had.

Really fancy steakhouse! Full disclosure, I was here for a private corporate event (shout out to Sycomp) so maybe the dinning experience is completely different. Overall, it was a good experience. It was a tailored menu with the addition of their famous cheesesteak which is known as the most expensive cheesesteak on earth at $140. It’s made with wagyu beef steak, truffle and Foie Gras (duck liver). The cheesesteak was really good but not for $140. As someone from Philadelphia, go to Del Rossi, Angelos, or Dalessandro's, don’t waste your money on this. We had tuna tar tar, wagyu beef sliders, family style mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, grilled asparagus and filet steak. It was all quality ingredients, cooked perfectly. I just expected more from a high end steakhouse. The service was great, no complaints there.

We celebrated our anniversary this weekend, and BP did not disappoint. The service was amazing(thanks Janelle), the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was vibey. We had the scallops(lights out), chopped salad, ribeye, halibut, truffle mac, onion strings and green beans. My absolute favorite parts were the scallops, dinner rolls(OMG) and how fresh the green beans were. I could eat those green beans all day! Really nicely done!

Brunch restaurant
Positano Coast by Aldo Lamberti is an Italian restaurant in Old City Philadelphia that offers a seafood-focused menu and a seasonal open-air dining room. The restaurant's interior design is inspired by the Amalfi Coast, with cobalt blue floors and life-sized postcards creating a breathtaking atmosphere. The menu features modern Italian cuisine with small plates designed for sharing, including fresh fish, seafood, 'Crudo,' and creative variations of classic Italian dishes.
I love Positano’s- the food, service, and atmosphere here is great! I’ve been here for dinner and brunch and enjoyed myself both times. I definitely recommend their bottomless brunch. The French toast was really good and isn’t dry at all the way French toast can be . I also recommend their Cesar salad.

To the coast we go! 🌊 Postiano Coast is truly a gem in Philly. From the moment we walked up, I was impressed—especially by the accessibility ramp outside (a very thoughtful touch, since the entrance is up a flight of stairs). The restaurant’s vibrant blue exterior instantly gives off a coastal vibe that feels very chic. As soon as we stepped inside, we were warmly welcomed by the hosts and a DJ spinning great tracks—such a fun and bright atmosphere! We requested a window seat and were happily accommodated. Then came the bottomless mimosas—three garrafas later, let’s just say we got our money’s worth (and then some)! The brunch menu was surprisingly extensive, offering a great mix of sweet and savory options. We started off with the spicy calamari, and wow—jalapeños with calamari? Genius. For our mains, I had the cavatelli, while my friends got the prosciutto flatbread and the shrimp quinoa bowl. We shared everything, and every bite was a hit. The shrimp from the quinoa bowl especially stood out—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I’m still thinking about it! Shoutout to our server Gera—an absolute gem! He was super attentive, offered great menu recommendations, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal. Even the bathrooms were cute and clean (yes, definitely selfie-worthy!). I’m already planning to bring my parents here—it’s that good. Postiano Coast has easily earned a spot on my list of Philly favorites. Highly recommend!

Great seafood, generous portions, and a welcoming vibe – just a bit off on timing We visited Positano Coast after catching a show at the Arden Theatre, and one thoughtful touch stood out right away: they offer a 10% discount if you show your Arden ticket stub, such a nice incentive for theatergoers looking to continue the evening with a good meal. The food was excellent across the board, especially the seafood dishes, which were clearly made with very fresh ingredients. As someone who requires gluten-free options, I felt well taken care of the staff was knowledgeable and careful about what I could and couldn’t have. That kind of attentiveness is always appreciated and helped me enjoy the night more fully. We started with appetizers, and everyone at the table had high praise for them. A particular highlight was the fried spicy calamari, my husband and kids raved about it. I couldn’t try it myself due to gluten, but it was clearly the star starter. The portion was very generous and perfect for sharing honestly, more than enough for several people to enjoy. When it came to entrées, the portion sizes again impressed us. The lamb chops, ordered by my husband and one of our sons, were perfectly cooked and incredibly tender. I had the salmon, which was flavorful and well-prepared, though it could have been warmer, a detail I suspect was due to some timing issues in the kitchen. That leads to the few small service hiccups: our appetizers didn’t arrive all at once, so some of us were eating while others waited. A side dish also came out quite late, almost as we were finishing our mains, which interrupted the flow of the meal. The atmosphere is stylish yet relaxed, with a lovely view of the city. It’s also very family-friendly, and the staff was welcoming to our kids, making it a great choice for both family dinners and adult nights out. We capped the evening with a dessert, the cheesecake, ordered by my son. It was beautifully presented with delicious sauce accompaniments and perfectly creamy. He and my husband shared it and raved about every bite. A sweet ending to a very enjoyable meal. In summary: Fantastic seafood, gluten-free friendly, and generous portions in a stylish setting. Just a few service timing issues, but still very much worth a return.

From the moment we stepped into Positano Coast by Aldo Lamberti, we felt transported—whitewashed walls, blue accents, and a coastal breeze vibe that channels the dreamy charm of Positano with a distinct Greek flair. It’s a perfect spot for a romantic dinner, a celebration, or a classy night out with friends. The evening began with several Hariot’s Ghosts, a standout: the cocktail that blends smoky mezcal with bright citrus and herbal notes. It was complex, refreshing, and balanced—a bold and elegant start that paired surprisingly well with seafood. Their cocktail menu as a whole is inventive and refined, with options that reflect both coastal influences and modern mixology. For appetizers, Our table shared the Fritto Misto and Spicy Fried Calamari—both crisp, golden, and fresh. The Fritto Misto had an artful mix of shrimp, calamari, and seasonal vegetables, lightly battered and fried to perfection, with a zesty dipping sauce that added just the right acidity. The Spicy Fried Calamari brought the heat in the best way—perfectly tender and tossed in a house chili blend that wakes up the palate. The Scamorza, a grilled smoked mozzarella dish, was rich, melty, and slightly charred—simple but packed with flavor. The Caesar salad was anything but ordinary—anchovy-forward in a good way, with crisp romaine and just the right amount of creamy, garlicky dressing and shaved Parm. For the main course, the Roasted Lamb Chops were absolutely unforgettable—juicy, deeply flavorful, and expertly cooked to a medium-rare perfection. They came crusted with fresh herbs and accompanied by seasonal vegetables that complemented the dish without overpowering it. The meat was tender with a smoky char that added depth to every bite—easily one of the best lamb dishes I've had in Philadelphia. We also enjoyed the Grigliata, a generous mixed grill of seafood and meats, and the Pan-Seared Branzino—delicate, buttery, and beautifully plated. The Scallops were seared to a caramelized finish, silky inside, and served with just enough garnish to let their natural sweetness shine. Desserts were as strong as the starters. The Sorbet and Gelato were refreshing and clean, ideal after a rich meal, while the Torta Nocciola was a decadent hazelnut dream—rich, nutty, and just the right level of sweetness to linger with your last sip of wine or espresso. Service was top-notch from start to finish—knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Our server helped guide the flow of the meal perfectly, timing each course and offering thoughtful wine and cocktail suggestions throughout. Positano Coast by Aldo Lamberti isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a Mediterranean escape in the heart of the city. Already planning our next visit.

While we still love this bar/restaurant, the food is inconsistent. We ordered a salad to go. It was missing the blackberries. Last time we ordered it, it was missing the cheese. The kitchen is clearly inconsistent. Perhaps the manager, Shaun, should manage and keep an eye on things instead of socializing at the host stand. Food is still delicious. They now have a TV at the bar and some specials during the big games.

Positano Coast is a delightful find in Philadelphia that transports you straight to the Amalfi Coast! The decor is stunning, with bright colors, Mediterranean-inspired art, and a breezy vibe that feels like a little escape from the city. The food is exceptional, offering a perfect balance of Italian classics and creative seafood dishes. The pasta is freshly made, and the seafood is always top-notch. I highly recommend the grilled octopus and any of their homemade pasta options. Their cocktail menu is equally impressive, with unique, flavorful drinks that complement the cuisine perfectly. Service is attentive and friendly, with staff who are knowledgeable about the menu and always willing to offer recommendations. Whether you’re there for a date night or a gathering with friends, Positano Coast delivers an elegant yet relaxed dining experience. It’s one of Philly’s must-visit spots for anyone craving authentic Italian flavors in a beautiful setting!

Independence Beer Garden is a permanent outdoor beer garden located near the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia. It offers a spacious 22,000-square-foot area with 40 taps of local and domestic beers, cocktails, and an all-American menu created by former Top Chef contestant Travis Masar. The garden features games like cornhole, tabletop Jenga, and ping pong during the day and has projection TV screens for evening entertainment.
What a great place to rest and have a snack and a beer or two. The Yards IBG Grapefruit Pale Ale was delicious. I ordered chips and guacamole. When I asked if some of the menu items were dairy free, the bartender mentioned that they normally sprinkle ranch seasoning on the chips and couldn't confirm if there was dairy in it. She made sure they omitted it from my chips. The service was top notch.

I had a decent experience here. There were some good happy hour deals and vegetarian options on the snack menu. However, I ordered the corn salad and explicitly asked if it came with lettuce and the waitress said yes, lone behold it did not. I also asked for it without meat and it came with it anyway but they were able to fix it. The buffalo cauliflower was really good. The food came quickly and the server was patient with the big group.

Love this place. Always make multiple visits when I come to Philly. Great in every way except…this absolutely inexplicable practice of pricing up their pitchers higher than the glasses per ounce. I can only think they’re trying to pull a fast one since pitchers are so fun to order. Love the place but you guys should cut that out.

Super fun stop conveniently located near Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. There's tons of seating, great food and drink menu, and free games for everyone to enjoy. I tried the soft pretzel bites and they hit the spot - soft and well seasoned. I will be going back soon, and taking friends.

do NOT order the greek salad as an entree. after a very long day walking around, we were hungry. - it was about 1/4 of a cucumber, a couple slices of a small tomato, way too many onions, and the tiniest amount of feta. with 20% tip to server, who was very nice and did a good job, it was $17.92. but more importantly - as my friend said "i feel like i have to now go get dinner somewhere" -because there was no protein, nothing filling at all, basically no food. and the onions were so overbearing; i left almost all of them, but somehow got heartburn. the server was nice, but when i asked "how's the greek salad" she said good, instead of describing it. which would've been a good heads' up. usually on salad menus when it says “cucumber, tomato, onions and feta” it means in addition to lettuce. There was no lettuce to fill us up. i went home and ate afterward.

Happy hour is our favorite there. Good food and good prices. Staff friendly. Perfect spot to see friends and chat.

Nice place, the service is okay. I didn’t like their lamp pita, it doesn’t taste like lamb at all, it taste like ground beef and it was over cooked, and dry. Fish tacos was good, and pork sandwich was tasty.
Aigo A — Google review
The food was absolutely awful. One of our sandwiches came with a hair in it, the burger buns were soggy and soaked through, and everything tasted either old or just plain bad. It genuinely felt like the food had been sitting out for far too long or was made with expired ingredients. To make matters worse, the prices were shockingly high for the quality (or lack thereof) we received. It’s honestly one of the worst meals I’ve ever had. That said, the atmosphere was lively and our waitress did a good job, but overall, we left disappointed, disgusted, and feeling like we wasted our time and money. Would not recommend.

Diverse and contemporary Greek plates are served in an attractive setting at Opa. In addition to a lively bar, the restaurant also has a back yard known as Drury Beer Garden that offers snacks and drinks similar to what is found at traditional outdoor bars. Special events hosted by Opa such as "souvlas" (cookouts) with whole spit-roasted lamb or pig are popular this summer.
Absolutely amazing! From the ambiance, to the service, the drinks, and the food. The entire dinner we had was lovely. The cheese plate had an abundance of cheese and was not skimpy like many cheese plates. The monkey bread was delicious and sweet (although they could have added a bit more goat cheese inside). Those lemon roasted potatoes were to die for. Our server, I think his name was Kevin, was friendly, knowledgeable, and let us take our time with everything. We weren’t rushed. Perfect date night. Highly recommend.

Had a great time. The bar had done some interesting interior. The vibes weee amazing. We sat in backyard which is a new addition to Opa. Amazing decor and styling. We had some good cocktails there like peach lit, gin and tonic and beers. Sone hours sitting and having a great time. Good to try for a walk-in with large group even on busy days. The only reason I removed a point is because the fries weee not crispy and loaded fries were not so good either. But amazing to have it the location and keep it in back pocket if I want to go for just drinks. Especially if I have a large group, the back portion is amazing if weather permits.

The lively vibe and modern décor make this spot perfect for catching up with friends over drinks. Their Greek dishes are fresh and flavorful, and the bar staff really know their cocktails. Can’t wait for my next visit!

The food was tasty and affordable. Great place for small plates and nice drink menu. During the summer months, they have outdoor seating and windows in the front that create an open atmosphere.

I use to love going to DBG but this past Wednesday I had a terrible experience at SIPS. We waited in line for TWO hours as the security guards continued to ignore us. They claimed to be at full capacity but looking through the window you could see that the place was empty. I don’t know what the purpose of keeping paying customers outside was but I will not be coming back again.

Please like if this review helps😁!! Great lil spot for drinks. This place required vaccination verification for entrance which was fine with me and the crew I was with. Visited this spot when I was in Philly for the Rocky Run Half Marathon. Atmosphere was very welcoming, bartenders were very attentive and the drinks were great and the bartenders made some great recommendations on the fly.. Great spot!

Fette Sau, which means "fat pig" in German, is a popular spot in Philly known for its dry-rubbed meats smoked in-house and its selection of beer and whiskey. The industrial-rustic setting with communal picnic tables makes it perfect for large group dinners. Guests order at the front and then head to the bar before settling at a table inside or outside to enjoy juicy pulled pork, smoked sausages, ribs, and sides like smoked corn.
We tried the brisket, smoked chicken, and smoked buffalo wings, along with mac and cheese, half-sour pickles, and cornbread on the side. The wings were absolutely outstanding—perfectly smoky with just the right amount of heat. All the meats were incredibly juicy and flavorful, with spices that were spot-on. The atmosphere added to the experience, featuring rustic wooden tables and chairs that gave the place a warm, inviting feel. Highly recommended for anyone who loves quality barbecue in a relaxed setting.
M L — Google review
I tried this spot for take-out and it was fantastic—really captures that true BBQ flavor. The brisket sandwich was the star, absolutely delicious. The BBQ chicken was also really good, especially in a roll with some sauce—so satisfying. The wings and mac & cheese were decent, nothing standout, but overall the experience was great. The vibe of the place when I went to pick up my order was welcoming, and I’ll definitely be coming back!

Different Cheesesteak’esque sandwich #1238. I went at happy hour. I miss happy hour. $8 burnt ends sandwich. $7 Old Fashion. You know I love those prices. I love the decor. The sandwich comes with spicy slaw. I am spicy adverse, and I liked this slaw. It was more flavorful than spicy. I liked the Fette Sau sweet sauce. You gotta love a nice soft potato roll. Good day to be me.

This is a cool BBQ spot. Admittedly, I did not get any barbecue this time around, but I went for drinks and apps. (I’ll be back to try the barbecue). I did not like the pickles, they had a weird taste to them. The deviled eggs were good, the zucchini was very good and I don’t even like zucchini much, nuts and jerky were also good. Our drinks were yummy and I liked the overall vibe of the place.

Unique barbecue spot in the city. Close to the Fillmore. We both got the brisket sandwich. The flavor was spectacular, just a little fatty for our liking. The Mac and cheese was divine. The chocolate chip cookie was okay. Overall, we would recommend dining here.

My friends and I dined here yesterday, celebrating a friend's bday! Very chill vibes. Wheelchair accessible! Most tables are inside the restaurant, but there are some outdoor tables as well. The inside was rather too dark, so we chose the table outside. If you choose an outdoor table, I think you can bring your doggos. I saw one party sitting at the outdoor table with their dog. I love-love-loved their brisket!!! Fatty and juicy -- it was my favorite among all the others my friends and I ordered. My favorite sides were sliced red cabbages and potato salad. You order first at the cashier, get a number tag for your table, and make payment first. The restaurant staff brings you the platter to your table when it's ready. Definitely, not the most suitable place for vegetarians. The veggie sides will be the only edible menu options. Water is self served.
Tina H — Google review
Great food. Been a few times and the food is always delicious. The vibe is nice with the option of inside or outside seating. I had a good and not so great experience with the staff but overall it was a good experience. Definitely would be back.
Brandon M — Google review
I really wanted to like Fette Sau, but the food just didn’t land for me. The cornbread was dry to the point of crumbling apart, the pulled pork had a slimy texture that made it hard to eat, and overall everything just felt a bit off. The mac and cheese was the only thing that stood out creamy and well-seasoned, but it wasn’t enough to save the meal. The space itself is cool and the staff were fine, but for the price and reputation, I expected a lot better.

I chose this place to celebrate by brothers birthday with the things he would have liked; he love cheesecake and a good gin. So I ordered what he would have eaten if he was still with us. My good friend joined me for a drink before we went restaurant hopping after work. Hostess female was not friendly on the entrance ; however the male host is the reason for the three stars. Our server was not friendly just blah. As I watched her she was like that with all the guest. The views were amazing our drinks were wonderful. I didn’t into include the two glasses of moscato or the crab cakes. All so good. The lobster roll needed seasoning but for the price I ate everything lol. The presentation was good on all except the cheesecake flight mango passion fruit and coconut flavored 7/10. I like the venue I’ll check it out again and hopefully I can give five stars. For me customer service is the determining factor. Definitely visit and make reservations

The view is all this place has going for it. Reservations are $26, the music is deafening, and they don't know how to make an old fashion... i had to explain it after seeing others. "Night Club" better describes this place. The views are good, but you pay for them...

My boyfriend and I came here after getting engaged by the art museum and were very impressed with the service, views, and level of detail from the staff. My boyfriend made the reservation in advance and they were extremely accommodating - giving us a whole couch section to ourselves. My boyfriend also collaborated with them to have flowers delivered and at the table when we arrived. Every staff member we encountered congratulated us and they immediately brought over complimentary champagne. We were able to relax and watch the sunset together while we celebrated our engagement. Thank you to the whole team!

My friend and I came here on a whim and had such a great time! We didn’t have a reservation so it was standing only, but luckily we found a place to sit comfortably. The DJ was playing 2000s throwbacks, afrobeats and all the good music. We appreciated it wasn’t the typical pop music clubs play. Drinks were expensive but you pay for the vibe. Pretty view of the city. I’d definitely come back!

We were expecting something amazing, a place where you can enjoy, but it is not. The host and waitress were good, but the place was so "cheap" even the menu was expensive. We didn't like it and never came again. The menu is very simple but expensive, there is no choice for mocktails. I ordered a cucumber tonic but got pickled. And the mention from the beginning from the host that "you have 1.5 hours only" is awful! I know it, you send me this mention in the email with the reservation. After 30 minutes we decided we didn't need 1.5 hours to stay there, we wanted to leave. But the view is amazing!

What an AMAZING happy hour! Great prices, amazing vibes and good food. We ordered the vegan burrito, seitan wings, chips and queso and margarita pitcher. The chips were not too greasy, thin and crunchy, the queso had a great flavor and wasn't too heavy. The Burrito was delicious, filled with veggies and fresh, the seitan wings were flavorful and packed a punch, and the marg pitcher was a bang for its buck and was so yummy! I can't wait to go back

Invited my parents to lunch here a few weeks ago. At first we were a bit upset about it only being a brunch menu, which we didn't realize was all they served until 3pm. I've tried this place at least 7 times since its been here. I am always irritated for having gone. To me, it is that below average place that costs more than it should that you end up getting dragged into going to for whatever reason becaus of convenience or a friend wanting to give it a try for the first time. This type of review is almost worse for me to give than a 1 star... its a place that somehow stays open, occupying space that you would much rather see something else appear. Super disappointed given I love the restaurant group's other offerings - Royal Tavern and Triangle Tavern. Today, it was yet another letdown. The restaurant was slammed for a street festival. I have to give them credit that I knew things would be jacked-up given the state of things on the ave. Unfortunately, I gave in to the wishes of my party who wanted to wait for a table here. The wait was declared as 25 minutes for a table, so we removed ourselves and shuffled in to the bar. Dev, our bartender, was very attentive and friendly. The food on the other hand, took 35 minutes to arrive. Additionally, my rancheros tacos had dry steak, potatoes that made it worse, and a heap of flavorless melted cheese sauce tucked between cold, stiff doubled-tortillas. I may have choked them down with a fake smile had this not been the 7th time ive been here and totally underwhelmed. I offered the plate back to the server. One person in my party was kind enough to offer me one of her quesadillas that she had. It was cold, soggy, and similarly flavorless. I recommend for anyone considering this place to stick with Triangle or Royal. If you need your taco fix there are literally 3 better options within walking distance: Pistolas del Sur, Juana Tamale, or La Llorena.

And just simply looking around, the place. It has a lot of old articles and newspapers on the walls, and not to mention it was incredibly cheap for the 2 of us we only spent about $50. Very tasty contemporary Mexican with great service. Drinks were delicious and the nachos were a huge winner for us. It was quite loud inside. I’m also a little annoyed that the $5 Photo Booth doesn’t give you countdown and just starts taking photos so we have a very unprepared sequence of photos.

When we first got there, we were confused whether to sit down or to wait for a server. We were given a very friendly waiter, kind. We looked at other peoples reviews to see what the options were and we went for the Best review which was the quesadilla and the chicken burrito both dishes had a decent flavor. The quesadilla was in a handmade tortilla which made it worth the plate. The chicken pastor burrito was missing Some flavor it needed a bit more savory flavors. I was glad that it came with a dollop guacamole. we tried the drinks, the guava margarita is way too sweet. The Paloma was decent. You can’t go wrong with a classic margarita .we can definitely tell a good Mexican restaurant if we see a lot of Mexican families however, this was not the case. Would say this is more of a trendy spot for the night life scene.

I've been on a Mexican kick lately and trying some different places. Last week I tried El Vez, this week I came here. The tacos at El Vez were better, the tortillas at El Rey were weirdly thick and chewy, though the flavors were good. I had an insane chile relleno though, and the cocktails are great. The passionfruit marg was straight passionfruit, really tangy. I loved it, and $6 for HH is amazing, although I don't think the drinks were very strong. The barstools are also very comfortable. Usually I'm dying after like an hour and a half and I spent most of the night chilling here. There are some other menu items I'd really like to try so I'll be back.

Visited this spot on our first night in Philly and loved it so much, we had to return the next day. Located on Passyunk Ave, the lively atmosphere adds to the experience with plenty of good options around. The cheesesteak Baos were a standout—tender and juicy on the inside, perfectly crispy on the outside. The Dan Dan noodles with Shitake, an adjustment recommended by the server, was a delightful surprise, flavor packed. On our second visit with friends, the cheesesteak Baos still impressed, and we added pork soup dumplings, coconut shrimp tamales, birria beef egg rolls, and a shrimp curry bowl to the mix—all delicious. We were so impressed with the fusion items like the shrimp tamales and the birria egg rolls, they’re really bringing out the best of Philly delicacies. Don't forget to try the cocktails; the green fire with peppers was a favorite. Highly recommend this place for a flavorful and enjoyable dining experience.

Ordered by phone and when I arrived order was ready shortly after. Atmosphere was pretty chill and customer service (based on our small encounter) was fine. Nice location with 2hr parking. Now the fish & chips wasn’t the best. Well the fries weren’t terrible but the fish (while a nice size) had way too much batter. It was literally falling off all over the place. From the looks of it it appeared to be a big fish stick. This fish itself wasn’t actually not bad taste wise. Maybe try a different batter.

The Happy Hour pricing for the combo is worth it but just don’t expect a spectacular burger and the best beer. I’d say the pizza slice was a bit overpriced. It was a bit undercooked and a bit lacking in flavor from the sauce and cheese. Perhaps the dough could use more salt. The burger was more flavorful but the bun was surprisingly soggy a few minutes after it was served. This wasn’t detrimental but it’s an area to improve. It also seemed like the toppings weren’t as evenly dispersed as they could have been but maybe they were just easily moving around a lot. I’m not as familiar with beer but I think I’ve tasted better but I also wouldn’t expect better for a Happy Hour deal, so I’m not complaining at all. The fries were fine as well, a couple served soggy, not the best flavor, but passable. The service was great. My server checked on me at timely intervals and gave me everything I needed. The atmosphere offers a few different options which was nice. Even the outdoor area is on two different streets and one side tends to have a quieter vibe. I didn’t check out the upstairs or stay in the bar area, but those are also options.

The HOISIN PORTOBELLO BANH MI sandwich is perhaps the best sandwich in town! Beautifully seasoned and the portobello mushroom is perfectly cooked. With the included side salad it is a healthy, filling, delicious lunch.

BEST Nashville style hot chicken sandwich in Philadelphia. It's not even close. I could barely finish this masterpiece and it was amazing.

We just love our new family restaurant! We get treated like family everytime we go!!!! The atmosphere is so cozy and the staff is exceptional. And let's talk about the food - it's absolutely to die for! The portions during happy hour are perfect and the prices are so reasonable. But the best part? Let me introduce you to DAVID! He's the star of the show - always attentive, funny, and he makes drinks like a true master! Whenever I go, I insist on being seated with David. They made our anniversary so special and they truly care about their guests' experience. We feel so lucky to have this gem in the neighborhood. I'd travel far and wide for this level of excellence! Oh, and I can't forget to mention my favorites: The Good Good Things drink, the Buffalo wings during happy hour, and the amazing cheesesteak! And my kids absolutely love the huge, deep dish, extra cheesy pizza. We're off to our reservation with David - can't wait! If you go, make sure to say hi to him and tell him Mink sent you! Almost forgot the fresh house made potato chips!!!! So so so good!!! Don't skip them!

Kensington Quarters is a unique American eatery and bar located in a renovated warehouse, offering a blend of dining, grocery shopping, and educational experiences. The on-site restaurant serves inventive dishes made with locally sourced, grass-fed meat, along with a notable charcuterie selection and crowd-pleasing burger. Upstairs, the venue hosts cooking and butchery classes as well as private events in an industrial space.
I’m kind of embarrassed I put off coming here for so long because everything about this meal was fantastic. Order all of the pastas. The oysters are great. The swordfish katsu was delicious and light enough to finish on a hot summer evening. Our server was really good, maybe just a millimeter shy of too much. Wish we got dessert but they all looked really good.

Easy to say the food was amazing, drinks were spectacular but the best part for me was the service. I travel a lot for work, spoiled by growing up in Austin with a service filled town I have struggled to find what I personally feel is overwhelmingly good service from staff. The food is stunning so far everything we’ve had in both visits this summer have made us leave saying, “actually felt welcome and worth every penny spent”

Glad they're finally back open! Wasn't expecting the drastic change in menu, but we were pleasantly surprised. First, service was excellent. We were greeted by the manager and other staff and our waitress was very kind. The plates were so thoughtfully crafted and all the flavors worked together very well. We got the chitara and it was close to perfect. Highly recommend!

I would recommend this place to anyone who had an affinity for seafood. Fairly nice sized portions, good drink/wine list. However, there are two that I wasn't in love with because of the amount of caraway and Amari - friends with Fred and raspberry beret. We ordered tapas style and got 6 oysters, not listed on the online menu, but prepared very well. Fluke crudo - very tender, though could have done with less olive oil. Little Gem salad, Parisian Gnocchi, especially liked the celery root soubise, and the seared Skate wing - which I felt was the best thing we got. We paired dinner with the favorita and inzolia white.

Get the burger at happy hour. Worth it. Edit 1/17/18: still fantastic. Went with some friends for a casual Monday night dinner and it turned into a feast. The bar, kitchen and service staff all have fantastic attention to detail and are very friendly. The mix grill is huge and easily feeds 4 with a couple of sides. Cocktails, wine, dessert also phenomenal. Hungarian sausage is amazing

What a joy! I’ve hosted several memorable family gathering at this Fishtown gem, which offers well prepared, fresh and delicious meals cooked to perfection with a fiery grill and wood-burning oven. Though known for fish dishes, KQ also offers delicious pasta selections. Not to be overlooked are the meats, including a flavorful ribeye which is tender and wonderfully seasoned. Appetizers were also superb, and the staff is energetic, attentive and full of personality. The tables are well spaced and the seating is comfortable.

Great brunch menu! Super friendly service, tasty options. Eggs Florentine on awesome milk bread. Tender omelette and delicious potatoes, only thing is size:) my husband said he would eat more :) and of course jelly donut, freshly made! And couldn’t not to point out the hay straw, quite cool eco friendly option and it will last through the brunch time, not like paper ones. Lastly they have inside and outside spaces, definitely kids friendly.

This place should really be $$$ instead of $$. Four stars instead of five because the portions are very small, and we spent about twice what we were expecting. No other complaints—it’s a great restaurant. The service was excellent, the decor in the restaurant is modern / rustic / industrial, and our meal was delicious in every way, although they have a style that is not always agreeable or inoffensive. You may find some things to be cooked differently from what you’re used to, or be a little too spicy. But still very delicious and thoroughly enjoyable.

We went for Halloween and it was a fun experience! The atmosphere is fun and filled with decorations, and there are various dishes that were Halloween themed. The food itself was decent, service was good, and atmosphere was top notch! I got a blood bag drink, and that was so unique and good. Drinks were a little pricey, but the rest of the menu was reasonable. We would go back and would love to go back for the Christmas decorations!

It’s a cool spot, recommended by a friend who’s local. We ordered shortly after getting our drinks and one item was missing—we didn’t get it until we finished everything else. She got a cheesesteak, I got a smash burger. She liked her cheesesteak, I thought it was dry. The smash burger fell apart the minute I picked it up, and it was a mess. Good flavors, but a PITA to eat. Fries (the item that took 10+ minutes to get) were standard, nothing special. The Boo-schetta (bruschetta) was definitely the best of what we got. No condiments on the table, or S&P. Ambiance was great, the themed cocktails and themed food were really cute. It was cool to check out for their themed popup, and I would encourage you to do the same! Just tamper your expectations a little. Oh, and there’s an automatic 20% tip added to every bill, so be aware. Definitely recommend a reservation, it was packed on a Wednesday night. We made ours 15 minutes before showing up. Whatever it says is available seating wise is likely wrong—we were sat at a booth and the reservation was for a high top. (Yay!)

My ex-wife’s favorite place. Now I know why. The espresso martini was delicious. The shrimp sandwich was very good but I had Oder envy when I saw the burger. The sauce for the chicken sticks is amazing. Bacon roses? Genius! Fun decor. Very good service.

This is a great place for anyone looking to enjoy delicious drinks and a cute Halloween atmosphere! We had such a nice time and the staff were all very polite and friendly. It is definitely a busy place especially so close to the end of October - but that’s to be expected. 🙂 I definitely recommend making a reservation to make everyone’s life easier! The food was delicious and the themed drinks are adorable. Can’t wait for next year!💕

It is awesome that they decorate for specific holidays, Halloween and Christmas being two of the big ones I’ve been to in the past. I also love that they change up the menu to make it seasonal! You definitely need to make really in advance to guarantee seating!

We traveled to Philly to try Craftsman out and did not disappoint. Every holiday drink was great. The smash burger with stuffing and cranberry sauce was so good. We will definitely be back during the holiday season.
Mark D — Google review
Lipstick on a pig Well, just as everybody else has said, the decor is incredible. It gets you into the spirit. But probably not worth the trip. Maybe just open one of the holiday decoration catalogs that show up in the mail. We had the pickle chips - and when they were delivered (40 minutes after ordering), we actually thought that somebody had eaten half of them on their way from the kitchen. 13 small pickle chips for $12. The burger was fine. The Caesar salad was pretty nasty. The holiday themed Cuban was 3 stars. The Mac n cheese, again, a really small portion, was just meh. We likely will not be back.

Met up with friends from our trip to Switzerland & Austria on Sunday. We met at Walnut Street Cafe as they were traveling from NYC back to Virginia. 3 hours of catching up! Great fun. Brunch was good. Great service (thanks Haley!) at a super convenient location. Food was pretty good. Nothing fancy. My steak and eggs tasted great, but they clearly missed medium rare and over easy. My chocolate peanut butter gelato was fine, but not fresh. Started off with mimosas that I forgot to snap a picture of. Great way to spend a Sunday morning and the weather turned out great by the time we were done!

Came for sunday brunch while visiting philly..read good things about this place so wanted to check it out. Got the shoe string fries which were so good..chicken and waffles were ok..waffles very very sweet for me but im sure theres alot of people of love that..chicken was good. Husband liked the breakfast pizza. Nice espresso martinis and prosecco bottle with juice choice option. Was a little disappointed there was no live music as mentioned in many reviews and social media posts(was a selling point to be honest). I had also mentioned when making a reservation it was my husband birthday and also also brought it up in the restauraunt in the hope it would be acknowledged at some point but i guess not. Service was ok dispite our waitress disappearing for a good while. If you are looking for a VERY low key sunday brunch i guess this is a good choice. Overall was ok but was expecting a little more.

I've been wanting to go here for many years, so finally took the opportunity to do so last weekend for brunch with a friend. Because people are typically away at the shore for summer weekends, it was easy for us to book a quick reservation that morning. The decor is cute, modern and clean with bright lighting throughout the space. Once I came in, I was immediately checked in and seated. All of the staff were very friendly and polite. Our waiter (think his name was Logan) was also super personable, gave good energy when interacting with us and had a good balance of attentiveness & letting us enjoy our food/time. We decided to order a few dishes to split and sample. Salmon Cake Eggs Benedict was unfortunately a let down for me - the salmon Cake seemed over cooked and tasted a bit plain/not seasoned. The Brioche French Toast with the peach bourbon cheesecake topping was amazing! That topping really added a good touch to the already well made french toast slices. And the side Biscuit and Gravy was shockingly good. We also had Rum Punch as our cocktail drink which was made very well. Overall, we had a good dining experience. There are a few other brunch items I want to try out, so definitely hope to come back again soon.

Menu was not really eye catching. The food didn’t leave me wanting to return. Eggs seemed like hotel or hospital eggs, they were not freshly cracked and cooked. Unfortunately they do not serve turkey bacon.Yet, the food was reasonably priced and the vibe of the restaurant was really pleasant. A great place to catch up with a friend.

The food was so bland and unappealing, I was actually surprised. I think the chef must have been off today. I ordered BURRATA INSALATA $18 Described as: frisée, balsamic glaze, basil, heirloom tomato, sourdough. I added Chicken for $9 and I ordered a $4 coke. (It came in a 6oz glass with ice) The “salad” came out on a small plate with really pitiful looking endives topped with 3 cherry tomatoes cut in half and some balsamic dressing, next to it was a burrata that was ok, but a bit too runny. Next to that was about 4oz of a piece of chicken breast, cut into strips. The chicken looked and tasted like it was boiled and then pan seared quickly to add color. There was nothing on it. no seasoning no flavor. On a separate small plate was 4 slices of sourdough bread that was not bad but nothing more than toasted sourdough bread. The servers were kind and helpful. It certainly wasn’t their fault that this food is so terrible. I did eat it all because I was really hungry and figured if I’m spending $40 on lunch I might as well eat it! I will not be back again. This was really sub par food. I do not recommend this place.

I love Jerry’s it’s such a vibe, the servers are always so sweet and offer recommendations. The espresso martini is 10/10. The food is also really good. I’ve been a few times and I’m always happy. This little corner bar is an absolute gem! I stopped by the bar and had an espresso martini and burger. The espresso martini was perfect, not too strong and not too sweet. Good foam on top. The burger had gruyere cheese and caramelized onion on a brioche bun. Fries crispy and salty. They also had a great playlist, Tyler the Creator came on so I was a happy camper. This spot was selected for our Mother’s Day Brunch outing. The name does not do it justice as it is much much more than just a “bar”. We had reservations, arrived slightly earlier and was seated right away. Stephanie our waitress was awesome, she had the best vibe, great personality and was thorough in her presentation of specials and suggestions. I had already picked out what I was eating after viewing a reel someone posted on Instagram. I ordered the Loaded Home Fries, Bananas Foster French Toast, a side of Turkey Bacon and of course a MOMOSA. Baybeee!!! That smoked gouda gravy on them loaded home fries sent me into something! Pure perfection, they got them home fries so absolutely right!! They were better than I imagined them tasting. The other two orders were the Fried Chicken Sandwich and the Chicken & Waffles (sorry didn’t get the pic at the restaurant when it came out) but there was a to-go order placed before we left. Everything was delicious, the atmosphere was bustling as it was a Mother’s Day Sunday afternoon, if I lived in Philly I’d frequent this establishment on a consistent basis. I enjoyed myself here and the quality of the food stood up to the prices. Check them out!

Wow! This restaurant is amazing. The perfect place to eat a nice dinner with friends or with that special someone. The chicken Satay appetizer was very good and the taste was great. Incredible service here, with a good value happy hour menu. Items listed in happy appear to be full portions just like the regular menu, making it a bang for your buck. I ordered the chicken satay. They were smoky and juicy, I liked the peanut sauce was on the side. I had a chefs special curry noodle dish. It was fab, just ask for their spice condiments, so you can adjust the heat to your liking. Def recommend.

Literally one of, if not, the best Thai restaurants in Philly. The decorations were so beautiful and the service was nice. All of the foods we got were surprisingly delicious, and we just kept devouring them. My favorite was the Khao soi, a noodle curry dish!!’
Khanh ( — Google review
We visited a Thai restaurant for the first time. The food is quite distinctive and rather spicy, even though we requested a mild level of heat. For example, the dish in the photo with the candle is a warm chicken salad with various ingredients in a tangy, marinade-like sauce — not the most pleasant smell at first, but the taste is very nice and actually soothes the taste buds after the spicy dishes. We also ordered main dishes with chicken and beef, which were spicy, but the salad and cocktails helped balance the heat. I’m giving it 4 stars purely based on taste — Thai cuisine just didn’t impress me as much as others. The food took about 30 minutes to arrive, but that’s to be expected from a proper, elegant place rather than fast food. The non-alcoholic cocktails were excellent. Service was outstanding — polite and calm — and we were very pleased with it!

Pearl and Mary Oyster Bar is a cozy spot in Midtown Village, part of the Schulson Collective restaurants. The New Orleans-inspired ambiance features an oyster shucking station and floor-to-ceiling windows. The menu offers a variety of raw bar selections, inventive small plates like octopus al pastor and hamachi crudo, as well as larger dishes such as a buttery lobster roll. It's perfect for seafood enthusiasts who enjoy both raw and cooked options.
I love this place. Three options for seating: outdoor, indoor, and at the bar all of them have great atmosphere from what i saw. i chose indoor seating for two and the service was phenomenal. Our server was so helpful and kind, the food came out so quickly and was phenomenal. Did the happy hour oysters, fries, and smash burger— the oysters were great size and super fresh, fries and burger nothing too special but still tasted great. the crab dip was to die for, we ended up dipping our fries in it… super great experience but it truly flew by with how fast service went! everything is so reasonably priced for the quality and portion- so satisfied!

Not really impressed with the seafood. Both the fish we order were dried and bland. The seafood tower is bland too. I preferred seafood broil restaurants because the flavoring is much better. We booked here due to Amex perks of Resy $100.00 credit. The atmosphere and drinks is good but definitely not for seafood. There are certainly better options in the area such as McCormick seafood. Dining area is small but I think they have a private area for larger party. If you enjoy seafood, this place will disappoint you.

This place is a must-try, especially for happy hour! The deals on seafood are amazing—think $1 oysters and shrimp that are super fresh. And seriously, don't skip the cocktails; they're delicious and perfectly mixed. Our bartender, Brian, was awesome. He was friendly, sharp, and made sure we never had to wait for a thing. The place definitely fills up and gets a great, busy vibe as the night goes on, so if you're not planning on just grabbing a seat at the bar, you'll want to book a table ahead of time. My one small complaint is that the two single-stall unisex bathrooms can create a bit of a wait, but it's a minor detail in an otherwise great night out.
Erin K — Google review
We had a great experience here! Our server Sophia was absolutely sweet and thoughtful; she quickly moved us to a bigger table as soon as one opened up, even on a crazy busy Friday night. The food was fresh and delicious, and the prices felt fair. Oysters were very fresh, crab was decent, and the crab dip and chowder are highly recommended. The shrimp dumplings are also worth a try (though the dumpling skin was a bit on the thick side, which slightly affected the texture). Overall, definitely recommend this place! Just note: if you’re looking for a quiet dining experience, this might not be the best spot on a Friday or Saturday night, since it gets very busy.

We made reservations to have dinner and we really enjoyed ourselves. For starters I had the New England Clam Chowder and my girlfriend had the deviled eggs. We both enjoyed our appetizers. The chowder was very tasty and thick. The deviled eggs were delicious as well. For our entrees we had the steak frites and the scallops, both meals were cooked perfectly. We enjoyed our meal and will most likely go back to enjoy their raw bar.

Pearl and Mary has hits and it has misses. TLDR I still think much of the food quality is good (small plates and entrees) but I used to really like their key lime tart dessert and it's so disappointing now! It wasn't tangy and the crust was a little mushy/mealy and felt like it was probably frozen poorly. They werent prepared for our reservation and it also was changed online to "outside" for a large group when I specifically requested inside, but luckily when we got there they rearranged some tables to keep us inside. I'm not sure why resy didn't send a notification when the seating location changed, although it did when our party size was more accurately reflected. The key lime tart is no longer as good as before, and feels like it might've come from the freezer. It was a little mealy in the crust and had weak lime flavor, like it was edible but not how I remember it in its first year. I can handle the price increase of the dessert but it's just sad to find out the good dessert I dreamt of from two years ago has been replaced. It seems like the pecan upside down cake is still good tho based on my friend's review so I recommend that over the key lime tart. Their small plates are good still and entrees are a hit but there are so many things on the menu that seem to be priced unreasonably. One of my friends ordered the shrimp cocktail and we came to find out that it's cost is by the shrimp... At 5$ per shrimp. Luckily my friend only ordered two but still $10 for two shrimp is crazy. Technically I guess you could infer it but damn that's crazy because they tried to get enough shrimp so it was a shrimp per person and I think we would've been pretty upset if we had done that based on their rec. Their drinks are aesthetic and tasty. For non drinkers I recommend the Pearl's Punch (I think that's the name), it tastes refreshing and sweet. The manager did come around to ask how things are but I'm not really one to complain about things I ordered unless there's something terribly wrong and it's fixable... So it's fine but please note that it's just kind of a mixed bag I think. If you order the right things you'll have a good experience but if you don't study the menu and RECENT pictures you might be a little sad.

Awesome dinner! My friend and I shared the sucking pig, and the fried chicken. Both insanely good! For an app we shared the conch fritters with crab salad. The pig dish came with a green salad. All just so delicious! Highly recommend!

We split the tasting menu which gets you an Appetizer, entree, and dessert. The goat cheese appetizer was insanely good and the skirt steak was probably the best skirt steak we've ever had. Loved this restaurant!

Upscale Puerto Rican cuisine made with care and high level presentation. We made reservations. Romantic atmosphere. Suckling pig option was delicious and had lots of side dishes, but I’m not convinced it was worth the price tag of $65. The bread and cheese option from the appetizer list was excellent: desserts are worth sharing too. Our server was friendly and attentive. Overall on the pricey side, but it’s a great experience.

Bolo is a beautiful space with lovely staff and absolutely delicious food. It is one of our favorite restaurants in the city. The food is really beautiful and yummy. The ceviches are extraordinary. The skewers are delightful. Try the fried chicken. it's so crispy. In fact, huge shout out to the person running the fryer. Anything that person touched was magic. How do you sauce a fried yuca and still have them crispy???

I literally cannot say enough good things about this place! My friend and I came here and sat at the bar for dinner and it was one of the best last minute dinner experiences I’ve had in such a long time! First of all, our bartender/server, Perkins, was so accommodating and gave us some incredible recommendations for food and drinks. We loved everything he suggested. The service was phenomenal, the entire team here is incredible and so friendly and welcoming. The habichuelas were spectacular, and we also ordered the ceviche sampler with the salmon, snapper, and shrimp. The snapper was the star of the show for sure, I would come back just for that. I highly recommend the Pin Pin and Rumba Rosa for cocktails. I will 10000% be back because I want to try everything on the menu now. And honestly, I would also choose to sit at the bar again because it was such a fun and enjoyable experience.

Loved the atmosphere and food here!! We visited on a rainy day and sat up stairs under the skylight. Definitely recommend ordering multiple things and sharing. The Ceviche was so good!!

Went here last week for my birthday. Food was incredible. We did several of the small bites. The ceviche shooters were my favorite. I’m not a fish lover but when it’s fresh and I can’t even tell it’s fish, I’m a huge fan. The yuca was crispy and delicious. The drinks were also really good. Logan was our bartender and he was the best part of the evening. Not only did he make a mean cocktail, he also invented one to cater to my tastes. I was so impressed and so thankful for his attention and care. I would highly recommend Bolo and urge you to make sure you get a drink from Logan.

My wife and I came to Bolo last night for dinner after a flight in from Minnesota. We were the first table to arrive and nothing short of amazing. Our server had the best energy and was so much fun! She gave us her best recommendations which included a fixed menu where you can try an app, entree and dessert! My wife opted for the ceviche tasting as well, blowing us away. We loved all of our server’s suggestions. We are foodies and have been to our fair share of restaurants but something about this place is very special. You can tell that the owner and chef take great pride in their heritage which is shown through the interior details, delicious ingredients and knowledgeable staff. The food runner was even able to list the ceviches for us with a brief explanation of each. I got the suckling pig dinner, a classic Puerto Rican dish as beautifully explained by our server. It was delicious. We shared everything and will absolutely be back. Thank you for such a welcoming meal to the city of philadelphia!

Seafood restaurant
Loch Bar is a new upscale seafood tavern located in the luxury Arthaus building, conveniently close to Ensemble Arts Philly. The restaurant offers an extensive raw bar and live music, making it a popular choice for theatergoers and oyster enthusiasts. Guests have praised the friendly and knowledgeable staff, with special mentions for the fantastic host and server. The ambience is described as comfortable, perfect for a date night or group outing.
A Memorable Family Celebration at Loch Bar – Exceptional Food and Service We recently visited Loch Bar in Philadelphia to celebrate a special occasion for my son, and the experience was nothing short of wonderful. From the moment we arrived, everything—from the ambiance to the attentive service—set the tone for a memorable evening. What truly stood out was the exceptional quality of the food. I ordered the sea bass, which was beautifully prepared—perfectly buttery, flaky, and full of flavor. It’s not often you find a restaurant that can impress both adults and kids alike, but Loch Bar nailed it. Our boys thoroughly enjoyed their meals, while my husband and I felt like we were indulging in a fine dining experience. The sides were equally impressive, and I can’t recommend the sriracha honey Brussels sprouts enough—they had the perfect balance of sweetness and heat. A special mention goes to our server, Cindy, who went above and beyond to accommodate my gluten sensitivity. She was incredibly knowledgeable, made sure to double-check any uncertainties with the kitchen, and communicated everything clearly and kindly. That level of care made a big difference in how relaxed and supported I felt during the meal. The staff’s attention to detail extended to our celebration as well. As a thoughtful gesture, they surprised my son with a complimentary dessert, which truly made his night. From the delicious food to the warm and accommodating service, Loch Bar delivered a top-tier experience. I highly recommend it—whether you're planning a family dinner or celebrating something special, you're in great hands here.

This bar is in a pricey area, but they have a happy hour from 4–6 PM at the bar and patio, which is a nice deal. It gets really crowded and loud on Fridays, and the space is small and tight. The oysters are super fresh with a great kick of Tabasco and lemon. Portions are generous and prices reasonable for happy hour. The Cobb salad was fresh and tasty. Service was attentive and friendly. I liked the bar vibe but wish they had a fresh seafood display like Oyster House or Pearl & Mary. It would’ve added to the experience.

Loch Bar — a great spot! 🍤🍹 We stopped by for dinner and were really impressed. The staff were friendly and welcoming, service was fast, and the food came out quickly. Everything was super fresh and delicious 👌. The highlight for us was definitely the large shrimp — absolutely top-notch! 🔥🦐 If you’re a seafood lover, this is the place to try. Great atmosphere and excellent service — highly recommend!

It was an overall nice dinner. Our waitress was very sweet and accommodating. The food was good for the most part. I had the lobster roll and the lobster was overcooked and chewy. My husband had the steak Diane which he enjoyed. The oysters were very good though, we had the Rockefeller and garlic oysters. It was also a nice touch that they gave me a free dessert for my birthday.

I had an amazing birthday dinner here for my party of 14. We had private dining and the restaurant service was phenomenal from beginning to end. The food was amazing we didn’t get a chance to take pictures of the amazing appetizers and all different entrees. We had the amazing seafood dip, the fried oysters which were amazing and the crab tater tots. Entrees we had filet mignon , crab cakes, salmon and branzino. The deserts were fabulous but we were honestly stuffed by time they came out. I enjoyed my tini bit older birthday and thank the loch bar for such a fabulous dinner party.

This was a birthday dinner and my first time dining here. The best parts of the restaurant is the seating, service, and having my cocktail mixed by the bartender. We tried new appetizers because calamari is on every menu. The crispy potato skins with creme fraiche and caviar. The potato skins were more like steak fries, the creme fraiche was a bit too loaded with horeseradish to fully enjoy the caviar. The tater tots were filled with crab meat while I was expecting a punch of flavor with seasoning with the crab meat to complement the filling something was missing. We added caesar salad but the ratio of lettuce to dressing was not balanced and there were a minimal amount of croutons. My entree was the the blackened island salmon, the salmon was cooked perfectly but I expected some carribean seasonings and flavors. The other entree was the seafood bake was a hit with the birthday patron. It was exactly as ordered lobster tail, clams, mussels, shrimp, potatoes, and corn drizzled in a butter sauce. The dessert menu included chocolate cake with whipped cream. It was served with a candle and a happy birthday chocolate inserted with 2 glasses complimentary champagne. The service was excellent. I am usually not a fan of salmon(there were other fish options branzino, wild sea bass, so if we were to go again I would do crab cakes with sides.

We had a better experience the first time we went last year. Menus need to be updated and waiters should let guests know what is not available when given a menu. Ordered a cocktail from the menu and was told later that it wasn't available any longer permanently. Ordered a replacement that needed coconut rum and was told there was nothing available with anything coconut. Ordered oysters from the menu and then was told one of the selected types wasn't available. Ordered one of eight seafood entrees on the menu and was told that wasn't available. The drinks and food we did finally get were good, but the experience of selecting multiple things from the menus and then being told to select something else was very disappointing.

Loved Loch Bar! We actually ended up going back 2 more times during our visit to Philly. Food and drinks were delicious (LOVE the crab soup), service by all wait staff was excellent (including the woman in training but we can't remember her name, and Kira (we think that's the name). The vibe is very cool - great music and location is perfect if you're attending events on the Avenue of the Arts.

Patchwork Philly is a vibrant restaurant and bar located on the second floor of the Hyatt Centric Center City Philadelphia. The venue has announced an exciting partnership with WAYVINE Winery & Vineyard for National Wine Day, offering guests a chance to enjoy featured wine flights and a diverse selection of wines.
One of the best brunch spots in Philly! Patchwork nails it — the vibe is stylish and relaxed, the food is creative without being over the top, and the service is top-notch. We came in for brunch and were blown away by the flavors. The French toast was absolutely delicious, and the cocktails were equally impressive don’t skip the espresso martini. It’s the kind of place where you can linger with friends and enjoy every bite, beautiful space, and views and the staff that make the experience even better. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a fresh, elevated brunch in the city!

It’s a really quiet restaurant inside the Hyatt Centric. Small menu with limited choices. They only had a couple of guests on a weekday night when I was there. I got a mushroom au jus and a side of fries as well as a salad. Decent food.
A M — Google review
The restaurant was very eccentric and the atmosphere was great! The service was efficient. Let’s start with brunch the crab cakes were fresh, but lacked in flavor. The patchwork omelette was pretty decent; The vinaigrette on the arugula was a little too acidic for my liking. The waffles were very delicious and by far my favorite. For dinner I tried the wings, they were flavorful w/ a little spice. The patchwork burger and fries were fresh and were seasoned to perfection.

Just left from here and ordered a burger. This was one of the worst burgers I have ever had. I don't understand why Hyatt lease to establishments that cannot cook or serve Good food. They could not even get the bun right. The burger was well on outside and red in inside. I wish I had read the reviews before ordering. They only take cash or room number. No cards. They really need to do better. I tried to eat it but I couldn't. I never saw white pickle before and the lettuce was old. After eating a small amount of that burger my tummy hurts. Manager sucks and has no enthusiasm.

Love this spot! Patchwork Bar inside the Hyatt Centric has such a cool vibe — modern but still super cozy. The bartenders are awesome and really know their stuff. Drinks are creative, tasty, and made right in front of you with fresh ingredients. Tried a couple of their signature cocktails and they were spot on. Also grabbed some small plates — way better than your typical bar food. Perfect place to relax after work or kick off a night in the city. Definitely coming back!

Been here several times because of the hotel. The only thing consistent about this place is the poor service. The space is nice. The food is below average. This place has a lot of potential but it is not there yet If this was a standalone restaurant, it would never survive.

Patchwork is located on the second floor of the Hyatt Centric in the City Center area of Philadelphia. We picked up some snacks there when we first checked in and then had breakfast there the next morning. The restaurant is beautiful, the service was excellent, the food was good but not memorable. The weekend brunch buffet could use some improvements to its offering as it was pretty light on options. With all that being said, it is nice to have a neat little restaurant located in this hotel to stop by for food and drinks if you're staying at the Hyatt Centric.
A R — Google review
I am a Hyatt gal so I have been to Patchwork several times. It’s a good spot for a drink to decompress after a meeting. The bartenders are always nice and helpful, outlining tourist attractions around town. The breakfast buffet is amazing. It’s abundance of options over indulges me every time. They have tuna salad on their breakfast buffet which is surprising and odd but I’m into it. The chef of this spot shows growth which I love. Hospitality HQ owns this restaurant. Chef Akhtaraa Nawab, owner of both Alta Calidad in New York (Michelin) and Otra Vez in New Orleans and Co-CEO of Hospitality HQ (HHQ), shows off his 'less-is-more' cooking style at this spot too. He’s been at NYC’s Gramercy Tavern, Craftbar, Craft, and has been in the kitchen at Tom Colicchio’s restaurants for over 10 years. The decor I would call mid century modern. I always try to get someone at the bar to climb the ladder but they never do. Something about consequences.

Cantina la Martina, located in Kensington and led by chef Dionicio Jimenez, is a top contender among Philadelphia's new Mexican dining options. The restaurant boasts a spacious backyard that serves as a festive oasis for diners. With its picnic tables and warm gravel, the outdoor area provides an inviting atmosphere for patrons to enjoy their meals. Additionally, the restaurant offers Peruvian-style rotisserie chicken, making it a versatile dining destination with a diverse menu.
Came to this restaurant for the very first time with my family. The restaurant is nicely decorated and has a very great vibe. Honestly can say all the staff were super friendly, attentive, and very helpful. Both the food and drinks were amazing in presentation and taste!! Definitely a 100/10 experience and will for sure come back again!

I had high hopes for this place based on the reviews etc. My partner and I grew up in Texas and lived in Mexico briefly so we know our way around Mexican food. Let's start with the positives: 1. The margarita was really good and you can definitely taste the alcohol. The aqua frescas were super tasty and reminded us of Mexico. 2. The staff was nice and we got great service. Now to the negatives (the food). Overall everything seemed dry and reheated poorly. Definitely not fresh as you would expect. 1. The Pastor Negro tacos were so incredibly dry the meat was difficult to chew. The freshly made tortillas cracked apart as we picked them up. 2. The tamales appetizer we got was also incredibly dry. The masa in them wasn't as moist as you would expect. It honestly seemed like they heated them up in the microwave. 3. We ordered the barbacoa special of the night for our other main course. For $50 I expected it to blow my socks off. Instead the meat was chewy and the consume lacked flavor. I don't think any salt had been added to it. The tortillas had clearly been reheated and crumbled as you folded them. To be fair they stated that the tortillas were "handmade" and not fresh. I can assure you no one was in the kitchen making the tortillas to order like you would expect a restaurant like this. It's possible the main chef was out that evening but shouldn't be an excuse on a Saturday night to have sub-par food. It wasn't busy and didn't seem to be rushing around filling online orders. I'd like to give them another shot as our experience seems so different than most peoples.

Loved the food here for brunch. Highly recommend the house guacamole. They also do a taco box which I also highly recommend, great variety and so tasty but I think that’s only for takeout. We also got this French toast thing, I forgot what it was called, but it was enormous and delicious, very crunchy with a layer of sugar on top - definitely want to share! Biggest qualm is the location, it was pretty sketchy and I don’t think I would come here for dinner. Maybe we were being dramatic but my husband felt like he need to pop outside every couple minutes to make sure our car wasn’t being broken into.

After ordering delicious Togo food here all winter, we started dining outside during the summer and WOW! The atmosphere of dining outside makes me feel like I am half a world away from Pennsylvania on vacation…the music, the smells of food, the decor and the safe enclosed dining area is just like a quaint, fun vacation. My husband and I ate goat barbacoa here for the first time tonight and it was phenomenal! The ceviche is incredible. The margaritas are horchata are 👌🏼. The Kensington area may be intimidating for some, but as long as you are dining inside of the Cantina, you are on a safe vacation 😎 the owners are lovely people too! Do yourself a favor and eat some good food here!

I have no clue what I ate but it was the most fantastic authentic Mexican my soul has ever desired. More than the meal was the wonderful tour from the owner of the authentic fire pits complete with a personal garden tour and pets from the resident rabbit in the garden. I've never had a more personal dining experience, absolutely will return again.

We came to Cantina La Martina for the final day of their Cocina de Humo experience for $50 and it was wonderful! I thought it would be an in and out experience but instead, our group stayed for hours chatting with each other and one of the owners. The drinks were great and we loved our food, especially the guacamole, octopus and elote. Cocino de Humo is great because it includes guac, sides, 3 choices from the grill, AND dessert. Maria took the time to explain all of the items and it’s significance to Mexican cuisine. The sauces & pickled veggies were made in-house and we loved that special touch. It felt like visiting a family member’s house, we were also gifted vegetables from the garden and it was so sweet, we made a veggie salad once we returned home! 10/10 for Cantina La Martina, I can’t wait to go back!

I recently visited this establishment with a party of two at 3pm, and while I enjoyed the ambiance and hospitality. it was noted that the restaurant was relatively empty. As we intended to order a variety of dishes to share, sample, and possibly take home, I kindly requested to be relocated to a larger table to accommodate our dining preferences. However, the hostess informed us that due to our party size, we were only able to be seated at a smaller table. I understand the operational constraints regarding seating arrangements for smaller parties. However, considering the nature of our dining experience and the desire to explore a range of menu items, a more spacious table would have greatly enhanced our overall visit. For that sole reason we decided to visit another restaurant to explore

First time visiting, so figured I'd take advantage of the happy hour to see what the place was like, and it didn't disappoint in any manner. Atmosphere and energy was welcoming. Service was fantastic and the food was great. Oh yea, I'm not typically a margarita person, but as they say, when in Rome so I went for spice along with my flavored margarita, and it was the perfect combo and heat and sweet. Tried just about everything on the happy hour menu and got one shot, and the bill for 2 was beyond reasonable. I'd highly recommend anyone who is in search of an authentic Mexican experience to visit Cantina.

This was my first experience and I loved everything about this place. Great customer service Maddy was our waitress. She was very pleasant. The food was delicious I tried all of the French toast the rib pizza and the Caramel burger. The drink menu was the best the names of the drinks were very freaky lol. They have a variety of mimosa flavors. It was a nice chill spot. I would come back.

Chicken wings were everything!! Crispy Korean ginger flavor was great!!! French toast was huge and way too much for me with the 3inch thick bread! Bacon was great and biscuits and gravy were average needed some flavor. Great service from wait staff. Espresso martini was average and guava mimosa was ok. Good place, tight space with prices…to be expected, due to the egg tariffs :).

My bestie made the reservation for her birthday brunch. Such a wonderful selection! The custom interior is moody without being dark. The service was welcoming and prompt. We were strategic in our selections which were the French toast flight, bacon caramel waffle and the short rib mac-n-cheese. Each item was delectable! The short rib requires special mention as it was tasty and tender. We also loved the lemon blueberry French toast. Well done and we will return to try other menu items!

Upon arriving, the staff was extremely friendly. Our server was Avery very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. It was very hard to decide what to get as everything sounded great. The honey cornbread is absolutely a must to have even sharing with someone as an extra side. The Triple Bacon Burger was a much larger item than expected but very good. The side of broccoli was a bit disappointing. You got 4 pieces for 6 dollars, and the quality of it looked like bagged steamed broccoli, but it's a meat specialty spot, so I understand. I think the only major issue we had was the overall temperature in the building, but we are also in a heat wave, so that isn't at fault of the restaurant. I will absolutely want to come back to try other items.

Where do I even begin!!! Our first time visiting Philly we stopped at Bake N’ Bacon and was greeted by an extremely friendly host who sat us right away. Our server Madelyn was kind and efficient and frequently checked in without being pushy. The atmosphere was such a vibe with great 90’s R&B and an upscale feel while sticking to hip hop Philly roots. Now for the food! The double bacon grits were top notch! Excellent flavors and the I can’t choose my toast was massive. The drip coffee was really good for being a simple cup of coffee. I would definitely recommend if your looking for a spot to grab a brunch or breakfast

There are so many gems for the tastebuds here. We had the French toast sampler and we 100% recommend getting the best of every world with that. The hanging bacon with Carmel sauce is devine. Our server suggested items from each section of the menu which was extremely helpful. Last, the drink menu was creative, fun and most importantly, danced on the taste buds. We WILL be back.

Fantastic food! But make sure to check the portion sizes in the photos first because some of the dishes are massive. The atmosphere is great, cozy yet upscale. Often under looked, but the weight of their cutlery is sizeable, which adds to the overall elevated experience. Highly recommend.

Located in Center City, Monster Vegan is a local haunt offering a unique blend of vegan comfort food and spooky cocktails. The restaurant boasts classic horror movie decor and neon lights, creating a chill locale for patrons to enjoy their vibrant drinks and crave-worthy grub. From fried macaroni and cheese balls to stacked sandwiches and rigatoni alla vodka, the menu is filled with indulgent options. Additionally, guests can catch horror movies on Thursdays in the private screening room while savoring their meals.
I had been hearing good things about this place and finally got around to going. I’m vegan, my friend isn’t but was willing to try it with me. It’s a really cute theme restaurant with drinks to match. I had the Blobarita and my friend had the Manhattan. Both drinks came out festive, the Blobarita in a monster glass and the manhattan had smoke coming from it. For appetizers we had the fried eggplant caprese and the carne asada tacos. They were both tasty. I really enjoyed the ricotta in the eggplant caprese. For entrees I had the clams and linguine (with gluten free pasta) and my friend had the spicy bolognese. The portion sizes were large and both of us got to go containers. The clams and linguine were ok the first night, but when I ate the leftovers the next night it was delicious as all the flavors had come together. My friend liked his dish. I tried the italian sausage and sauce and they were good. I gave the food 4 stars since the pasta was just ok the first night. They charge an automatic 20% gratuity, but it’s in big bold red letters on the bottom of the menu so there is no surprise. The service, food and atmosphere were great so we had no issues. We will definitely be back.

THIS PLACE IS MAGIC!!!! I legit want to leave more than 5 stars for this place!! 🎃👻🔮 We LOVED Monster Vegan. The decor, the vibe, the staff, the FOOD. How cool and unique is this place? A HORROR/HALLOWEEN themed bar/restaurant? YES PLEASE! Fully vegan menu. Tons of comfort vegan food choices. We got the vegan smash burger & cheesesteak - both amazing. The vegan smash burger was massive- loaded with cheese & sauce & just magic. We also got some of the appetizers- vegan Mac bites were to die for. The waiter was super friendly. Food came out pretty quick - hot and fresh. Fried Oreos & ice cream for dessert- yes please! We loved the entire vibe. The uplighting inside added to the charm. We really enjoyed chilling inside with all the cool spooky decor, eating delicious food with horror movies playing on the wall. Literally such a unique place! Alllll the Halloween & quirk vibes serving up amazing vegan food! Make a reservation & dine in one of the cities most unique spots!

Great food, great service, and great environment! I’m a sucker for anything horror themed. Absolutely love the horror movie trailers projected on the walls. My friend and I came for dinner tonight and the gluten free pasta here really blew me away- I was pleasantly surprised. The spicy bolognese was delicious. The hoagietini was absolutely mouth-watering and I highly recommend to anyone who loves a savory, adventurous drink. The only thing they’re missing is a gluten free bread option. Will definitely be back! Thank you to our server Sean for some great recommendations and service!

What a fun, spooky spot for Vegan diners! Staff were super friendly, and they even had a little problem with the internet for the first half of my visit so there was no music or video playing, and they all kept apologizing for the inconvenience. I didn’t mind though because the restaurant was decked out in spookiness with masks on the wall and more. The food was BOMB. My favourite was the Fried Mac and Cheese Balls. How often do we see these on menus but can’t order because they are not vegan! So it was a TREAT to be able to enjoy the hot commodity that they are. When the internet came back on, they had Halloween classic tunes playing and old horror movies playing on the projector. And this place was BUSY. Would definitely recommend for a vegan restaurant that is FUN.

Clarkville is a corner bar in the neighborhood of Clark Park, offering a variety of wines and beers on tap along with snacks. The restaurant is known for its innovative pizza flavors like eggplant with black kale and walnut pesto or pork roll. It also offers lighter salad options and wine on tap. Situated across from Clark Park, it's designed to be a family-friendly spot with a solid bar for adults and a good kids menu.
Food We sampled Sal’s Famous pie, Clarkville Hot Chicken, a vegetarian pasta, and a charcuterie appetizer. Each dish was bursting with flavor and a true delight. These are all items we would eagerly reorder on our next visit. We also enjoyed a selection of drinks, including a specialty draft beer, a bottled beer, and a few cocktails. The restaurant offered some outstanding low-sugar cocktail options, which we greatly appreciated. Service Our waitress was attentive and accommodating during our meal. She ensured our drinks were always filled and provided extra napkins, condiments, and take-out boxes without us having to ask. Atmosphere The dining area was small yet cozy and thoughtfully designed. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and look forward to returning.

As soon as i walked in they told me it would be a 45 minute wait yet I overheard them telling others it would be a 10 minute wait. Then the host/waiter asked me what I wanted and didn’t even give me a menu. I saw one of the waiters running around and asked her if they had any mock-tails or 0% Beers or Wine and she said no and told me they had soda and to check over at the wall…and walked away…She never said anything else to me. I watched the initial host greet, sit, offer drinks, have casual conversation, and deliver food to multiple people and not once did he acknowledge me until the pizza was almost ready and even then no one offered me a glass of water. Many people came in after me and got their pizzas and food before me after I watched the host/waiter take their order. Later on, he did apologize for the quality and lack of service. I explained to him that I’ve ordered from them on Door Dash and loved the “Peppe Le Bleu” pizza and wanted to simply experience it fresh out of the oven. The experience was pretty disheartening but I’ll accept the fact that maybe everyone was flustered and potentially understaffed…so I appreciate the apology but still needed to be transparent on my experience. When I walked in there were many open seats inside and outside, so I’m not really sure why they told me before I even got a menu that it would be a 45 minute wait, especially when others came in after me and got their stuff before me. Outside of the bad service, the “Peppe Le Bleu” pizza that I ordered was AMAZING and hands down the best rendition of a Pepperoni Pizza I’ve had in West Philly…Safe to say, if I ever eat from there again it’ll be ordered on a delivery app rather than dining in.

The pizza and salad were pretty good. They seem to have a good selection of craft beers. Unfortunately the vegetarian carbonara was terrible. The pasta was extremely over cooked and mushy. I would avoid all the pasta on the menu, but I think the main draw here is the pizza anyway. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible via a ramp which is great. However most of the seating is bar stools at the bar and around the windows. If you’re disabled, call the restaurant first to see if normal dining tables are available.

The bartender Jamie was super helpful and kind enough to take my order while I had my dog on a leash. Wait time was reasonable, while I waited for my pizza (ordered the Diablo Pizza with Pepperoni…I’m gonna give it a 8/10). The service from Jamie was phenomenal & above and beyond…I received a cold cup with ice water because I was outside waiting hence I had the dog. The pizza was ok…I don’t think it was worth the price but the service made up for it…I will be back without the dog :)

This was our first visit to this establishment. The pizza selection is quite extensive, with many options available for vegans. The atmosphere is spacious and inviting. Although the space is not very large, it is well utilized. Our server, Haley, promptly greeted us upon arrival and provided linen napkins and silverware. She offered us drinks, including water with slices of lemon and lime. The drink menu includes a variety of options, from cocktails to wines. After much deliberation, we decided to order the vegan white pie, which was topped with kale, shiitake mushrooms, onions, housemade tofu, ricotta cheese, and vegan mozzarella. The pie arrived within 12 to 15 minutes of placing our order. The thin, crusty crust was generously topped with cheese, mushrooms, and kale. While we found the pizza to be delicious, we felt that it could benefit from a touch more seasoning. We also ordered a side of hot honey, buffalo sauce, and garlic for added flavor. The medium-sized pie proved to be quite satisfying for the two of us, with a diameter of approximately 12 inches. Despite feeling full, we couldn't resist ordering a dessert. To our surprise, they offered vegan options, including freshly made donut holes made from pizza dough and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. These treats were served with a delightful caramel dipping sauce. The ambience of the restaurant was delightful, with light and relaxing music playing in the background. The service provided by Haley was very good, and we look forward to returning to sample more of their menu offerings.

I was greeted at the door by friendly service and seated immediately, party of 4. We ordered 2 pizza's and they were excellent. They also served up some really good beer on tap. If your in the area looking for a good pie and beer this is the place for you .

Didn’t want to write a negative review but felt we should give some feedback. $24 and change for this 😞 We ordered a large and this is what we were given. Didn’t take a photo at the beginning because I wasn’t planning on writing a review but we were so displeased eating it that I decided to take this photo to share. Dough was still chewy, not cooked enough. This is supposed to be a loaded veggie pizza. We asked for real (dairy) cheese when we ordered, were surprised to find a few shavings of parmesan cheese. We called to ask where the mozzarella was and were told that only comes with the vegan/vegetarian mozzarella option. What? This is a vegetarian pizza. That was not communicated to us when we ordered. No apology given for not clarifying when we ordered. Or about not putting all the greens on one side as we had asked so that my grandfather could eat it. The menu isn’t clear. Service could be friendlier and more attentive. Felt like they were skimping on ingredients and the flavor was not good. I had a few good bites of eggplant and broccoli rabe. If we were in the restaurant we would have sent it back. (My aunt said definitely send it back. Writing on behalf of my family lol.) Honestly I would be embarrassed if I had made this for a family dinner.

I’d give this a 5/5 for the pizza but the other dishes were disappointing (2/5 max) but -1 star only seeing as pizza is their main thing. I got the Johnny Hots pizza and that was excellent. Great flavors and the crust was perfect to my liking - chewy and fluffy! The peppers were actually spicy (yay) and the pork was good too. I also got the hot chicken salad and that was pretty bad. Way too much dressing, very very greasy chicken, and absolutely NO spiciness. I’d go back for the pizza, for sure, but don’t get the hot chicken! My friends got the hot chicken sandwich and the sriracha honey pizza and they loved the pizza and said that the sandwich was ‘good.’

Nestled in the vibrant Kensington neighborhood, The International Bar is a trendy pub that effortlessly combines a global culinary flair with an impressive selection of cocktails and beers. Owned by the creative minds behind Standard Tap and Johnny Brendas, this bi-level tavern offers something for everyone. Downstairs, you'll find a lively atmosphere complete with colorful barstools and a DJ booth spinning tunes nightly, while the upstairs Service Bar exudes sophistication with its dim lighting and dark decor—perfect for enjoying expertly crafted cocktails.
I love this place the bartenders the design the vibe. They've nailed it. Not pretentious but still very cool. Great cocktails and skill behind the bar. The food is really good and I love the happy hour here!! Go!

Before heading over to dinner reservations at a nearby restaurant, we decided to grab a drink at Intl Bar. Small, yet retro vibes. We received a nice welcome and were able to order from the HH menu—Salt & Pepper Wings and Waffle Fries. Both food items were yummy! Things came out hot, as in, temperature, and the sauce/dips for both paired well with the two.

Bar + food with a ton of options! I can't recommend this place enough, I can't say much about the alcohol (silly since this is mainly a bar) but DEFINITELY come here for the Katsu Sandos! We came here entirely by chance while walking around hungry and boy am I glad we did. We were super surprised to see a Japanese staple on the menu and it was absolutely delicious. The bread is incredibly soft and is most likely delicious milk bread, the sauce is perfect and the chicken is crispy and delicious! I personally only liked the Girls On Film cocktail out of the lot, and the others i tried weren't that good but but I'm not willing to drop a star for that since the sandos were that good. My friend had the shrimp po boy and it was just as tasty too. I already came back for the katsu, but I definitely need to come back to try more of the cocktails. Service is great and everyone's nice, vibe is very nice as well and they have outside tables too. They have tons of events and stuff too so make sure to drop by!

This is a cozy bar with a solid draft list and food offerings! The staff are attentive and engaging…but gives you enough space to ask for recommendations but not overly pushy about their favorites! I enjoy the salt & pepper wings along with the shrimp sticks! The Happy Hour begins at 4p and lasts till 6p! There was a $7 Gimlet and it was pretty good! I would return because it was an easy going atmosphere.

I love this place!! I went for the first time last night and if I lived closer, I would definitely come here regularly. The bar has two different vibes depending on if you're downstairs or upstairs. Downstairs is kind of indie rock while upstairs was more classical. The menu was adorably retro and their cocktail selection was really well crafted. I'm hit or miss on mezcal drinks but I got the holy diver because when I see unusual cocktails, I must try them. I was not disappointed! The combination of flavors was subtle but so well done and the mezcal was so smooth. I went on to get a second mezcal cocktail (Vietnam bar) and it was just as good. Our server was perfectly attentive and I had a great experience here overall. Can't wait to come back!

They have a variety of beer wine and cocktails. The white negroni is my personal fave. The food is amazing, 2 different floors plenty of space but cozy. Staff is knowledgeable and attentive

We had wings, calamari, mussels, old fashions, and margaritas during happy hour. Best thing was the drinks. $7 extra for the “flavoring” of the margarita.

Ate outside with HEATED SEATS!! If nothing else come to try the heated seats and a beer. The drinks are delicious I got the BDSM which is a banana rum concoction and my husband got a sour beer, I will say that the drinks were on the small side for the price and didn't seem that heavy handed in the alcohol. The food was definitely drinking food but delicious, we had the fried halloumi which is exactly how I've gotten it in Czech Republic, down to the pickled vegetables as a side. My husband got the Chicago dog, which for $4 is a great price, but not as fully loaded as Chicago dogs I'm used to but still good for those drunk nights. I would recommend this for those late nights when you get a bunch of friends together to drink and just want little nibbling food that goes along good with that. They also appear to have an outdoor venue section so you'll definitely be back to check out live local shows.

Restaurant
Little Walter’s is a top-notch restaurant that offers delicious Polish cuisine with a modern twist. The bartender serves up tasty Old Fashioned cocktails, while the custom-made smoker/roaster/grill creates flavorful and tender dishes. The chocolate peanut butter pierogi topped with homemade ice cream is a surprising delight. The restaurant's ambiance features beautiful solid wood tabletops, an exposed brick wall, and a modern open kitchen concept. Guests are greeted with warmth and the knowledgeable staff ensures a pleasant dining experience.
I can’t wait to go back to Little Walter’s for their out of this world potato pierogis! We loved it so much we had to order a second round. The service is warm and attentive - everyone on staff is incredibly knowledgeable and makes you feel so welcome. The decor and vibes are inviting and fun to see all the amazing veggies they’re picking. Definitely don’t skip out on the creative and delicious cocktails and the desserts!!
Angela K — Google review
The food was good and I do see the chef trying but for traditional dishes, he needs to shore up on the fundamentals. The most disappointing was the perogies. It was just okay and the mushroom one was unevenly salty and felt like a tapenade in a dough pouch that didn't quite wow. The potato one was also okay and lumpy not in the right way. We are a tough crowd with Polish so having the fundamentals down is important while you wow with the creative twist. The goods were the kielbasa served with pickles instead of cabbage and the 2 entrees-fried chicken with some type of apple sauce gravy and the monkfish in beet sauce with a shrimp kielbasa. I have never had monkfish in an Eastern European cuisine and was so different from the various Asian ways it's prepared. Probably the most interesting and creative Polish dish. The Polish beers and the cocktails were great. Well balanced and enjoyable. To be honest the service and atmosphere was more like 3.5. For the service, our service was just professional enough. We are a gregarious group so not really bothered by the facial expressions of the server. However, the general atmosphere want inviting you to stay longer despite what the interior design and Polish grandma/auntie ceramic dishes wants to suggest. The beginning was fine but at the end, they just want you to pay and get out. Unfortunate since they could easily make additional $$$ in after dinner drinks. The atmosphere is also trying to be cozy but a bit off. No clear line to the bathroom and definitely need to do better job of placing bigger groups vs 2 or 4 dining groups. It's supposed to be an open kitchen, you kinda failed a bit in that aspect since the one big table in the back can see the kitchen. It was an enjoying meal thanks to company and trying a new place but done see us going back anytime soon. But if you are in Fishtown, not bad to try it once. *spent about $60 per person*

Truly a gem of a restaurant, and it's clear how much care and consideration is put into everything they serve. They make seemingly simple dishes remarkable, and the house cocktails are especially tasty. Plus the smell of roasted meat is the restaurant is wonderful. Highly recommend.

This place offers much resistance. Think of it as the porcupine of Philadelphia dining. I was all set to be wowed given the glowing reviews. The first indication of trouble was the unsmiling host. Totally mirthless. The tables are set up at a jaunty angle. Somewhat disorienting. We were seated by a large loud party. After a few minutes we requested to move. The only other table the unsmiling host was willing to give up was by the door, even though there were 10 empty tables (he said they were all booked). So I put my coat back on and sat by the cold blasts. Food was actually quite interesting and tasty. We had some pickled mackerel, potato pierogies, kielbasa and fried chicken. It was more than enough for 2. The drinks were all delicious too. I could see the chef working hard in the open kitchen. He’s trying his best and the food is definitely good but I wouldn’t want to return to that atmosphere.

INCREDIBLE!! There were 8 of us (4 of us are/were chefs) and we ended up ordering 2nds of EVERYTHING! The chef came out and talked to us. He and all the staff are lovely. Over 95% of the food is house made. The other things, like the mustard, are from small businesses in Lancaster.
J A — Google review
This is a great spot for large groups/families! Our table of 7 was perfectly accommodated in this small but cozy space. We all ordered the chef’s tasting menu but our favorites were the kielbasa, the brisket, cheese, and squash pierogis, and the rotisserie style pork shoulder!!
Lauren L — Google review
I’ve eaten here 5 or 6 times, it has become one of my favorite restaurants. Some of the 1 star reviews for this place are ridiculous.. the hostess did not smile at them, the system had a glitch the first day they were open and charged people an extra 0.75 fee which they immediately fixed and refunded. People are so weird. The food at this place is amazing. That’s really all you need to know. Highly recommend the pickle martini, the surowka, kielbasa, and of course any of the pierogi.

This place keeps getting better and better. How is it possible? The salads, pierogies and bread were all as fantastic as we remembered. Seasonal soups and cabbage dishes blew us away. Amazing natural wine list, and didn’t even get to touch the Amato list, which was a whole separate page on its own. Loved the staff, very cool vibes inside. Laid back, and perfect place to get lost in good convo with an excellent drink to accompany.

Heard my music mentor perform there. Did not try the food. Atmosphere was lively. Music stage was in the back. I could hear the bar crowd from inside the performance area. The sound system was okay but not first class. I'm speaking as an audiophile. I don't feel that a small business like this one can afford to have sound equipment and facilities for top-notch sound. It was adequate, but there are limits to what amplification can achieve in terms of preserving sound quality.

Went tonight for 2nd happy hour stop. Nate our server was wonderful. Professional, checked often and got drinks and food in a timely matter and correct. Tried a love letter and it was delicious which says a lot since normally I am not a gin drinker! The fried chicken slider was very good and the duck fat fries were hot and delicious. Happy hour drinks at $8 were a bargain for sure. Say at the high top across from the bar and it was a great stop

Love the happy hour here 4-6pm for the beers in a bag. They also have $5 snacks, I got the cheese and meat platter, and one other thing but they weren’t all that good/ worth it. I’d certainly go back for the beers in the bag vibe, but the happy snack portions could be improved and the vibe was lovely. Also our server was awesome. Won’t blow you away, but will be enjoyable

Came here on a Saturday midday, they have happy hour on weekends from 4-6 which is a nice surprise. I still ordered from the main menu because I wanted the burger combo, I got the village burger, fried pickles and duck fat fries. I honestly thought the portions would be smaller so I was surprised and impressed by the large sides. The fried sides were awesome, their pickles very crispy and large slices which I enjoyed. The burger was good and really fat, only issue was the bread that got soggy quickly due to the burger grease. The cocktails looked good, I only tried the love letter to linvilla because it was so good I didn’t need to try anything different. The strawberry tastes fresh and goes well with the gin and citrus. Bartenders were cool, one said it was their first week and I wouldn’t have been able to tell otherwise

The food look like they could be tasty but are really disappointing. I ordered the burger to be medium-done, and it came well-done, very dry and flavorless — there’s flavor in the sauce, the pickle and tomato, even the bun, just not in the meat. The deviled eggs are bland too, and the fries are burnt.

This is a really a lovely place to take time out, set in the middle of the bustling city you can just relax in the middle of it all surrounded by beautiful architecture and the amazing orchestra waters which is so innovative, I have never seen anything like this, it's really quite something to watch someone orchestrate the music and the waters, I could have watched for hours, I wasn't brave enough, to have a go but would have loved to, beautiful location. The water feature ended on 3rd October so I'm glad I got to see it but Dilworth park is definitely worth a visit.

Walked past/through here several times. Seemed nice, lots family and kids there who seemed to be enjoying themselves. Like any big city there were some homeless people around and some sketchy individuals but there was also a subtle police presence to where it never seemed unsafe or I felt uncomfortable. I can't skate but the skating rink looked fun for those that are into that type of thing.

Love City Brewing is a spacious brewery and tasting room located in a former railway-parts factory in Callowhill, Philadelphia. Since its opening in 2018, it has become popular for its craft beverages, including the signature Love City Lager and seasonal offerings like Totally Wired Coffee Brown Ale and Suspect Device Tripel. In addition to an impressive beer selection, Love City also offers hand-crafted cocktails for non-beer enthusiasts.
Love City Brewing is a fantastic spot with a laid-back vibe that makes it easy to settle in for a few hours. The building itself is a highlight—an old industrial space with high ceilings, exposed brick, and plenty of natural light, giving it a cool, welcoming feel. It’s the kind of place that feels both spacious and cozy at the same time. Their IPAs are a standout, offering a range of flavors from bright and citrusy to more robust, resinous options. Each one is well-crafted and enjoyable, no matter your preference. The food truck outside is an added bonus. The Hot Honey Crispy Pepperoni pizza is a must-try—it’s the perfect blend of crispy, chewy crust with sweet and spicy toppings. One of the best pizza I’ve had, food truck aside. With its great beer, tasty food, and inviting atmosphere, Love City Brewing is definitely worth checking out.

While the beer I had was decent, it was way too hot to enjoy it. I'm not sure if they have no AC, or it just wasn't working, but after walking around the area this was not the reprieve I was looking for. As such I drank my one beer and quickly left. Maybe next time they'll have their climate control in order.

The cheesesteak was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. I highly recommend stopping in this brewery.

The atmosphere here is pretty top notch with worn brick, hanging lights, and colored lighting in their brewing area at night. It was pretty popular but there were plenty of seats so there was no wait. That dude mean it was a bit loud but a lot of breweries and bars are around the time we went. The beer itself was pretty decent with a variety of choices and flight options. We went with their standard flight choice which had a stout, pilsner, loger, and ipa I believe. While most weren't my style, I knew that going into it and they seemed good for what they were. The staff was pretty friendly and acomidating. We didnt feel like we had to wait very long and they checked in on us regularly. Overall for the atmosphere alone I would say to check this one out.

Love breweries but can’t drink at the moment and was really pleased they have a non alcoholic beer that was Delicious and honestly tasted just like a beer. Ordered a pizza. Hung out with a good friend. Perfect lil night.
Danielle L — Google review
Honestly really solid choice before a show at union transfer. Price after tax and before tip was $8 for the citywide and $15 for the pizza. Not cheap but not break the bank expensive, and the beer and food is honestly really good. For a neighborhood thats basically a food desert, this is my spot before philamoca/union transfer/franklin music hall

The staff is amazing, the beer is so good, ADA accessible, I cannot say enough fantastic things about this spot. Eraserhood is my favorite Hazy beer that I’ve ever had. They are LGBTQ friendly. It is my fave brewery in the city!
