Love & Honey Fried Chicken is a laid-back spot offering take-out options for delectable fried chicken, wings, and chicken sandwiches alongside classic Southern sides. Established in 2017 by Laura and Todd Lyons, this eatery has become renowned for its perfectly crunchy buttermilk fried chicken, which is brined for eight hours, coated in buttermilk and seasoned flour, deep-fried to perfection, and topped with honey.
The Nashville fried chicken sandwich was excellent—flavorful and nicely spicy, which I really enjoyed. The fried chicken/tenders were decent, though a bit too greasy for my taste. Overall, still a solid option if you’re craving fried chicken. They only do take-out, order ahead so you don’t have to wait, and be prepared because parking is brutal

Have you ever taken a bite out of a juicy chicken thigh only to greet your pallet with an outpouring of blood? No? Well I wish I could say the same. Unfortunately, today I received an undercooked chicken thigh from this establishment and I really don’t understand how that could have happened. Are we not using meat thermometers anymore? At home I can understand, but in an actual restaurant there is no way that it was cooked to 165 degrees Fahrenheit and then boxed up to serve to the public. I am appalled and will never order from here again. This is unacceptable. As a pregnant woman I would prefer to not get salmonella. Never. Again. I have consumed the portion of what I hit and now am Really sick and not having fetal movement. A law suit will issued if this is not eradicated.
I didn't realize they were Togo only when I got here otherwise I would've ordered online. As such I ordered at the window and had to wait. There is no seating so definitely save yourself the time and hassle and order ahead. I got the spicy chicken sandwich this go as I was walking to my next destination. The sandwich was big, crispy, spicy and perfectly tender. I had a hard time not burning my mouth trying to eat it faster than I should've. While good, this wasn't really what wanted to order. But given the no dine in option and not wanting to lug around a box of chicken and sides all over fishtown I had to *settle for the sandwich. Support black owned businesses.
First time trying this place. Picked up my order around 9pm. Food smelled amazing on the way home but food didn't match the smell. The Chicken sandwich bread was stale, so i tried the chicken alone and that was good. The Chicken tenders tasted like it was fried in burnt old oil.
I think I came on a off night, based on the reviews I will try again but at a earlier time.
Ordered takeout from Love & Honey Fried Chicken for the first time, I’ve heard great things about their chicken.
I ended up getting a kids meal, which was truly a great deal. 4 chicken tenders, tots and a side sauce for under $10. The chicken was flavored well, I wish they were crispier though. The tots stole the crispy show, they were great! I also loved the ranch.
I got an oreo cookie for dessert, I’m not sure if they sent the wrong one but I didn’t taste any oreo flavor. It also seemed a little overcooked, I wasn’t a fan.
I would consider coming back to try a chicken sandwich in the future!

I've eaten at Love & Honey Fried Chicken twice and my experience was identical both visits. I've come to this conclusion: L&HFC is the most crunchy and deliciously FLAVORLESS chicken I've ever had. It's quite perplexing but it's honest. I likely won't revisit but the establishment itself is very nice!
The best delivery fried chicken in Philly, hands down! Crispy, crunchy, and tasty -- they brine their chicken well and fry it with perfection! Some stellar chicken sandwiches and some memorable tots! Don't get me started on The Biscuit Jawn -- a savory sandwich that is a must-try!

My wife and I came to Bud and Marilyn’s on a Saturday morning for brunch. We were in the city for a matinee show and made a reservation a week in advance. We were seated right away. The front of house staff was very friendly and engaging. We were given ample time to decide and order without feeling ignored. The cinnamon roll arrived about 5 minutes after ordering it and it was delicious! Definitely worth sharing. I ordered the sausage and biscuits and my wife ordered the Croque Madame which was a daily special. Both were fantastic. The biscuits were not dry and the gravy had a great flavor without being overly salty. The bread on the Croque Madame had a little sweetness to it with great balance to the ham and cheese. Overall, everything was great and would highly recommend!

Dropped in for brunch and appreciated the relaxed vibe. It wasn’t crowded when we arrived, so we were seated quickly—always a win.
The highlight? Hands down the cinnamon roll. Soft, moist, packed with flavor, and surprisingly good even with raisins (which I usually avoid). It’s absolutely worth a return visit on its own.
As for the meal: I had the chicken and waffle. The chicken was tender, but lacked seasoning—it needed a boost from salt, pepper, and hot sauce to really come alive. The waffle had a solid soft crunch— nice balance, and the fried egg was perfectly cooked.
Drinks were good, but since I ordered a French 75, hard to say much—it’s not a cocktail that’s easy to mess up.
Would I go back? Maybe, if I’m nearby. I’d try something different next time, but I’d definitely order the cinnamon roll again.
Fantastic American comfort food experience. The retro diner vibe was a fun touch, and it felt both stylish and fun. We ordered the Bud's Double Patty Burger and the Shrimp Po Boy Buns, and both were excellent. The burger was juicy and flavorful, everything you want in a classic. The shrimp po boy buns were great with crispy shrimp, fresh fixings, and perfectly buttered potato rolls made for a delicious bite. Service was friendly and efficient, adding to the overall positive atmosphere. We'd definitely recommend Bud & Marilyn's for a satisfying and enjoyable meal in Philadelphia!
This was a great find. The food, service, and atmosphere was great. Great music playing in the background. We enjoyed this visit. We had a great time talking and eating. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that visits the downtown Philadelphia area. It was an 8 minute walk from our hotel, so we got to get some walking time in on the way.
Wonderful late dinner. Excellent service and ambiance. A quiet place tucked in the corner with spectacular food. Everything we ordered was spot on. Will definitely be back soon.
After a long day of design work, it was only right to fill our bellies. We attempted to dine at a familiar restaurant, but due to the start of Sips, downtown was CROWDED. I’ve never seen so many people.
Any whooooo, after getting through the crowd, we ended up at Bud & Marilyn’s for friend chicken, a side of Caesar and club soda to wash it all down.
Service was great, the suggestions were a hit, and our bellies were satisfied.
Atmosphere was amazing. My waitress Emma was top tier. The crab hush puppies were amazing! I’ll definitely be back. I also loved that they had mocktails
I had the fried chicken and a Bloody Mary. The chicken was excellent—crispy, juicy, and a very generous portion (half a chicken, cut in pieces). The slaw and house-made pickles on the side were fresh and balanced, perfect palate cleansers. The Bloody Mary came with a pickled pepper and paired really well with the meal. I’d definitely come back anytime I’m in Philly.

Amazing food! We had reserved a table for 4 and then eventually 5 of us came on the day of, and they were able to accommodate us easily. The wait for table wasn’t long.
I ordered the Shrimp and Grits and it was incredible! My friends loved their food too. I vegetarian options were many which my friends really enjoyed as well.
For the drinks, we got a round of espresso martinis and they were delicious. My second drink, Lemon and Fig drink was really tasty and strong too. We ordered the Dubai chocolate dessert and they also served us coconut bites (?) on the house. Scrumptious!!

Southern style cooking meets excellent presentation and high end restaurant! Ambiance was fantastic, very class establishment, great for a business dinner but felt like grandmas house (in the best way!) the Love Sampler (charcuterie board) was delicious, the cheeses paired incredibly well with the jams! Make sure to get the hush puppies, served just like mamma would have made! Fried green tomatoes were crispy crunchy packed full of flavor! Salmon was great but I think I will try the specialty fried chicken next time!
My family of 3 made a reservation for dinner here and had a culinary experience that was truly out-of-this-world delicious. We loved everything we ordered, starting with the Caesar salad, which was fresh and loaded with Parmesan and definitely a favorite of the night. The entrees were all delicious and spoke to the cooks’ skill at combining unique ingredients and flavors to create wildly successful dishes. I got the crispy branzino, which was absolutely delectable, especially when combining all components (hummus, couscous, vegetables, olives, fish) for the perfect bite. My dad got the shrimp and scallop pasta, which had some of the best scallops we’ve ever tried. My mom got the lemon risotto, which was perfectly rich and creamy, though a tad salty for her taste. For dessert, we got the peach and berry cobbler and some delicious complementary fig and oat bars. Everyone loved the cobbler, though the ice cream had a very strong ginger flavor that I ended up not preferring. The service was truly excellent—we were served in a timely manner and our waiter checked on us consistently through the meal. The ambience was also nice and cozy, but it was quite loud and a bit cold on the second floor. Bring a jacket and expect absolutely fantastic food with the most delicious ingredient combinations!
My wife and I had an amazing dinner at The Love this past Friday evening. It was the first time we had went to The Love and could not have been any more pleasantly pleased that we found, The Love. I never expected to walk into a Philly restarurant and sit down to a delicious dinner of Fried Chicken, Grits, Collard Greens, and Corn Bread along with my wife's Shrimp Scampi and Spagetti that all started off with an amazing and well prepared cheese plate. This wall all finished off with a wonderful, Crème brûlée. We personally want to thank our waitress, Dana for being so attentive and providing detailed descriptions of the menu and specials along with the maître d, who unselfishly got down on the floor to retrieve something that had fallen from our table and went under the seats. It was a kind gesture. We will be back. Thank you all for a great time.
The place is very nice and quiet inside. They offer drinks, and the service is fast and excellent!
I ordered the ravioli ($30 for 6 pieces). They were served with too much sauce, which was a little bit salty. When I started eating, I got heartburn, so I had to remove the ravioli from the sauce before I could eat them.
I also ordered the mushroom soup ($15), which was delicious.
For vegetarians, there are only two main courses: ravioli and the tofu "steak." Of course, there are also salads.
The portions are okay, but not big enough. After having both the soup and the ravioli, I still felt a little hungry.
I’m not sure why, but they don’t offer bread as most restaurants do. Especially for the price I paid, I think they should include it.

Great menu, food and atmosphere. Good coffee too! Their hours show that they close between lunch and dinner but they don’t. The restaurant remains open and you could still make a reservation or walk in. It’s just that the kitchen briefly closes to switch the menu. They have indoor and outdoor seating options. Perfect for people watching. Great for families and dates and maybe even solo dining.
Lovely dinner at The Love with great service by Jessica. Had a nice roomy quiet table upstairs to celebrate anniversary and very accommodating with gluten free options. Look forward to many future dinners here!
My wife and I had an amazing dinner at The Love. in Philly and we’re still talking about it! The whole experience—from the warm, inviting atmosphere to the beautifully plated dishes—was top-notch We ordered the short rib rigatoni and the seared fish over farro, and both dishes were absolutely incredible. The rigatoni was rich and comforting, with tender chunks of short rib, roasted tomatoes, and crispy onions for texture. The fish dish was next level—perfectly cooked with a delicious crust, served over couscous and veggies with a mix of bright and earthy sauces that brought everything together. Every bite was packed with flavor. I noticed the menu had changed for the better.
The presentation alone was worth a shout-out—clean, elegant, and clearly made with care. Service was friendly and the vibe was chill yet upscale—perfect for a date night.

Very nice of them. It was alot of food. The whole chicken would have been enough for all of us. The fries were the best. The perfect crisp and crunch. We are definitely eating from here again when we come back.

The food here is solid for the price! The combos offer a good variety, the sides are always bright with notes of sweet/sour/umami to compliment the deep fried items. Several decent sauces, too, but they definitely feel "manufactured."
Service it isn't the fastest and the interior isn't the most welcoming, but overall I the food is satisfying, crunchy, and served nice and hot!
We waited almost 30 minutes for an order of Korean corn dog, chicken sandwich, and small fries. Staff seem to prioritize the online orders that come in (which seems to be many). The worker was kind enough to bring our food to the table we were sitting at. While the food is good, I could not get past the fact that they were keeping fried chicken in tins on the shelves in the open that people were constantly walking by. I don’t think I will be returning to this establishment.
Never ate inside store. But ordered for pick up multiple times and it has always been great food. The chicken is crispy and light. The soy garlic flavor is so yummy. The wings are decent size too.

I’ve been here a few times now and figured it was time to review them. First of all the service each and every time has been fantastic, regardless of how busy they’ve been they always have been friendly and have provided excellent customer service.
Now for the food, I have tried a good portion of the menu and all the items I’ve tried have been fresh with excellent flavor/texture combinations. I took 1 star off because on one occasion the crispy rice ball was cold in the center and on another visit the popcorn chicken tasted like burnt fryer oil but this was the exception not the norm and they handled the issues immediately and ensured I was completely satisfied. I could eat here every week!
My friend and I were in there for the weekend and just wanted decent food before heading to a concert so we decided to try here based on word of mouth from the locals and fairly decent reviews. I definitely would NOT come back here! Ugh, don't even know where to start

If you're on the hunt for an unforgettable Peruvian-style rotisserie chicken experience, look no further than Brazas BBQ Chicken, nestled in a former Primo Hoagies location on South Street. Chef-owner Juan Placencia has truly mastered the art of pollo a la brasa, with his chickens brined for 48 hours and marinated in a delightful blend of chili, garlic, and vinegar before being spit-roasted to perfection. The result? Tender and juicy meat that’s bursting with flavor.

Lady who serve us was lovely, sweet, and kind. Only stopped to get empanadas and a drink. The empanadas were flavorful and huge! They were not stingy with the sauce either.
Next time, we'll visit the actual restaurant. They weren't opened until noon the next day and we were already leaving town before then.

Let me start off by saying that this is one of the best restaurants a person can go too. This truly is my safe place and reminds me of what having a family was like! The menu setup is amazing where you order family meal style and everyone shares portions of the meal and it’s so dang delicious! The chicken is to die for and the sides are absolutely ridiculous. You really cannot go wrong with anything you get here and the price is so amazing! If you are ever considering this place do yourself a favor and just go:)
I went there for Peruvian food and I get something different the change came with zucchini and purple cabbage and sweet corn. I saw the many before I came and everything it’s different they have to deleted because they confused the costumers. I ask to the lady about the food and she don’t know anything, she don’t know about the sauces what they are. The chicha beverage also it’s so expensive two drinks it’s the same to get an entree. The chicken was ok but the rest was so bad we got plantains and they were black try change the details thank you. And don’t call Peruvian food what you serve on your restaurant.
The food here was very good and while the prices are a little high, the entrées seem like they’re reliably two solid meals. My chicken was moist and well seasoned, the beans were extremely tasty.
The restaurant is bright and pretty visually interesting, but the vibe is distinctly unromantic, which is sometimes a vibe that you want. Overall, I would be back! And I would bring friends who like good food.
They are not playing with their empanadas! 3 for $16 is a great deal as they are pretty hefty. The vegan one was lovely (and I always appreciate having non-meat options) but the chicken was heavenly. They were made fresh and they came out piping hot. With their white and green sauces, it was a divine lunch. An unassuming but high quality eatery!
My friend and I were in South Philly in search of some empanadas for lunch. We had 2 places in mind, but instead, we stumbled our way into this place. No regrets were had. Originally, we looked at the prices and asked how big the empanadas were, which gave the impression that they were small for their prices, when in actuality, they were well-STUFFED. To begin, the empanadas were fried to perfection. We got the beef, chicken, and vegan empanadas, and they were all flavorful and very filling. The chicken was my top favorite. It was very flavorful. We got yucca fries to accompany our empanadillas and their sauces as well. All of the sauces were good, but we really enjoyed their pepper sauce; however, I personally wish the sauce was a bit spicier. I also really enjoyed their vegan option. It was filled with yams and mushrooms, which paired perfectly with their olive mayo. So, overall, I really enjoyed their empanadas and will be back to try more food.
Great food, authentic Peruvian taste and amazing service! We got the Lomo Saltado (steak stir fry) and the Half Chicken with Chaufa rice - both were absolutely delicious and the same taste as we had in Cuzco and Arequipa. They serve Inca Cola and Chicha Morada (purple corn drink) too if you want to try a new beverage. Great place, glad to find this hidden gem on South Street - wish they add Ceviche to the menu soon
Peruvian food is in my top two favorite cuisines.
We ordered on DoorDash for pickup and the food was ready in the estimated time, quick pickup with an empty restaurant at 1130am Saturday. I found the man to be quick and helpful in coming out to greet me.
Brazas empanada $5.75 - really expensive for just one. In the picture on DoorDash it has 2 empanadas so I thought we were getting 2. The flavor was good especially with the sauces. Probably wouldn’t get here again though.
Peruvian fried rice $7.20 - good portions definitely different fried rice than I ever tasted. Not used to this flavor, not bad not great, decent. And I’ve had so many arroz chaufas in my life. Would finish eating, but wouldn’t get again.
Cuarto - pollo a la brasa with sweet plantains $13.80 portions were small and white chicken unfortunately was extremely dry, lacked any moisture in the chicken. It’s the moist disappointing part because Peruvian chicken is SUPPOSED to be some of the most moist you will ever eat. This chicken lacked that, I found it really difficult to finish but I kept at it. The flavor was only in the skin very salty and peppery. White meat doesn’t need to be dry and that’s why I find this to be no excuse especially for charging $13.80 for 1/4 of a piece of chicken. Portions for this were just sad if you look at the picture.
The plantain was good just the way it’s supposed to be.
Pineapple Fresca - $6.90 good not the best but good. We wished there was more natural juices available.
Polli-papas - $11.50 chicken and fries were just okay it really wasn’t anything special. Refer to picture, it tastes exactly how it it looks.
The chimmichuri sauce, brazas red sauce, white sauce, and brazas green sauce were all really great it was the best part of the meal. The second would be the plantains and the juice, but unfortunately the main dishes were extremely disappointing.
Parking is metered on south street. We’re avid food eaters and are disappointed we couldn’t add this to our list. For a total of $48.50 the meal was just not worth it. 2.5/5 unfortunately leaning towards 2 because the main dishes didn’t live up to Peruvian standards.

I only got their donuts (cookies and cream) but I loved them. They hit my sweet tooth perfectly! I was surprised when I realized that they didn't do a combination of tenders and donuts, but I guess I have to get them next time. Yet, I do wish the donuts were a little bigger.
Man oh man it seems like this location went down hill over the last two years. Got my first order of tenders for myself and the family and they sure did get a lot smaller! No giant hands here either.

At Citizens Bank Park tonight, I ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich(fried chicken breast with buttermilk ranch dressing and pickles on a bun, $13.50). When I took it to my seat and bit into it, parts of it were very chewy and some parts I couldn't chew or bite through at all because the chicken was not thoroughly cooked through. I spit the inedible pieces into the sandwich wrapper and threw half of the sandwich. Except for the ranch dressing, the chicken was tasteless and undercooked. This is my first visit to CBP this season, and in the last 3 seasons I'd usually go to 4-6 games per season, and I always get the same fried chicken sandwich which has always been tender, juicy, and flavorful. So, imagine how thoroughly disappointed I was this time, and there will absolutely NOT be a next time. I will not be visiting Federal Donuts again and I won't be recommending it to anyone. If I could give this experience a lower rating than 1, I would do so.
It probably goes without saying that this is not the best Federal Donuts location. It doesn't have a full menu and their chicken sits under a heat lamp during ballgames.
However, they get MAJOR points for having a WORKING FRIED DONUT MACHINE at the ballpark! You can actually get hot made to order donuts during. Phillies game!
We just got their chicken sandwiches, which were good but small, and some Za'atar Fries. Both were good but I would probably rather avoid paying the high prices and just get some standard ballpark food.
If you are ONLY in Philly to see a baseball game. Definitely stop here. I know that you have heard a lot about our cheesteakrs but, believe me, these donuts are not be missed.
Chicken was pink, chewy and not cooked through. I thoroughly support federal doughnuts and understand the stadium is busy but I did not appreciate being up all night with food poisoning.

Came here while I was in town in Philly with one of my best friends after seeing a Instagram reel! The atmosphere of the place has a really cute vibe (the aesthetics are 10/10)! The women at the stand were very personable and accommodated us wanting to sit in one of the “pod” seating along the wall!
We got the crab fried rice which was delicious! However, the drinks were a little disappointing.
Waitress was great! Personality, very informative. I love the atmosphere & menu options. Bartender was great. We were celebrating my daughter birthday, they came out with an extra dessert & surprised her.
Loved our Happy Hour visit! We enjoyed Spicy Tuna Roll, Butter Krab Roll, and Philadelphia Roll, which were excellent. The Butter Krab especially surprised. We also enjoyed the Pork Belly Raman and the Beef. The fun modern yet retro vibe was cool. Service was great. Definitely recommend.
I really enjoy Pod! We've gone twice now and we've really enjoyed our meals and time spent. For food I highly recommend the crab croquettes, chicken wings, crab fried rice, tuna nachos, just to name a few!
The staff is pleasant, laid back, and politely and swiftly remedies any issues. All in all, I'd highly recommend. Wish I had taken more photos but was too busy eating!
This is a perfect place for drinks/ friends gathering, because they have great atmosphere and excellent service! As we know it’s a Korean fusion but they don’t have so much options on the menu and the prices are slightly high. The urchins tasted bitter and I expected high quality due to that price. The beef tartare and seafood(crab) pancakes were very salty which we could not finished. A small bowl of white rice was $5 😳 the fries was among the “best” compared to other dishes. But overall, we enjoyed the meal because the service was excellent!
Pod is back! If you enjoyed Pod in the past then you’ll love this updated version in the same place in University City. The decor is updated but the service is as great as you may recall in the past. The menu is diverse although of course on a Japanese-fusion theme ranging from sushi/sashimi to noodles and rice to fuller entrees. Do try the desserts too! Definitely recommended for a visit into the city or if you live nearby - a classic place returns and even better!

Been here twice now with the new refreshed Japanese menu. Food is excellent with the new menu. Have been able to try the sukiyaki, karaage, ebi tempura and the seven fishes sushi which were all exceptional.
Service is prompt and attentive. It’s always a pleasant time here.
Ambiance is great, although wish they refreshed the interiors a bit but still nice nonetheless.

This is my second time here, my first experience was a few years back and it was wonderful. Myself and three friends wanted to dine here while visiting Philly and this was a good choice. Our waiter Mike was so very pleasant he made our experience so worth while. He was very fluent with the menu options and steered us in the right direction with our food choices. We ordered multiple dishes to share which is always a good thing to do. Edamame to start, those were super delicious seasoned perfectly. The spicy baked scallop and crab my fav so delicious as well. It was the tables fav as well because everyone ordered that dish. Very appealing as well. A good fried rice is always a plus , we chose the mushroom truffle fried rice and the Japanese fried chicken to pair it with , good pairing. Wild mushroom gyozas were apart of the spread as well. Last but not least the broiled oysters , super bomb! All of drinks were perfect as well with our dishes. Please be aware it is very dark in there. Overall we had a grand time!

My first time here and I loved it! The only thing is the seatings are sooooo closed to each other it feels really tight. We decided to have a seat at the love chair for a more intimate happy hour experience even though it’s besides the restroom but it didn’t bother us. The prices were reasonable and I love how if you have a seat at a happy hour table you can also order from their standard menu. Let’s take a deep dive on everything I tried. The love knot cocktail was sooo good it reminded me of a lemon drop. The shrimp tacos were really gooooood. The edamame dumpling was my absolute favorite because I loveeeee truffle flavor. The shrimp tempura was good as well I just wish there was spicy mayo we could’ve add on top, the spicy tuna was spicyyyyy but flavorful and delicious! The tuna crispy rice was another one of my favorites I love the two textures together of the crispy rice and spicy tuna. The oysters was another good one it had a burst of spicy flavor with a nice buttery taste to the oyster. & to end my meal I finished off with a cocktail I forgot the name of it but it was a similar taste to the rose cocktail but a little more sour. All in all our server Olivia was amazing the service was top tier, food was delicious for happy hour prices! Another thing I would like to add is I collect matches from restaurants that I’ve tried and this restaurant was the only one on this block that did not have any.
Went here for my birthday and it didn’t disappoint. The ambiance was so so so nice. We did the tasting menu, which is honestly the only way to go in my option. Every single but was just incredible. I honestly don’t think I could pick a favorite. Dishes came out fast but not too fast. And the value here is nuts. I don’t think you’ll find a better dining experience in Philly for such a price.

- Ambiance: Very nice ambiance but it's very dark. It makes me feel like I'm in Diagon Alley in Harry Potter.
- Food: There're two prices for tasting menu- $69 & $79. $79 offers more quality of meat and cut (?) if I remember what our waitress said right. However, we just went for a la carte since we had a late lunch.
- For robatayaki: We got ribeye scallions and scallops. The ribeye is so tender! Nice charcoal grill taste added to it, and I didn't know scallions could be paired so nice with beef. Scallops are sweet and slightly salty which is perfect.
- Specialty sashimi: We got Toro and Yellowtail. I love the Toro more, somehow it's thicker and the soy sauce with wasabi going so nice together. Yellowtail dish was overpowered by the yuzu and citrus sauce. The selections of special sashimi are pretty decent and very refreshing.
- The other dishes we ordered were just alright, they didn't impress at all.
- Overall, $175 included tax and tips for this whole meal but still left me a bit hungry, so I would say this restaurant definitely lean into more expensive side. We were also excited for the miso soft-served ice cream but unfortunately, they were out of it, which is weird for a Friday night. Easy to make reservations. Hard to find parking. I would recommend it for people who want to experience new and nice restaurants in Philly. For me myself, I think it's a nice experience but not impressive enough to come back soon.
If you were looking for it, you would walk by it. It’s a door to enter this grand of a restaurant! They have a downstairs and a bigger dinning area in the back of where you enter. The Japanese cuisine is good. I enjoy myself every time I go to this lil spot. Oh and they have Happy Hour, ting.

These pictures were on two different occasions dinner and happy hour. Staff is always kind and I like that the managers sometimes walk around and ask how the food is. Did a little Weekend getaway from NYC and stumbled upon Metro Diner. All I can say is the food was amazing. We Had the chicken platter (so moist) mashed potato and string beans, turkey sausage and OMG the cinnamon roll pancake OMG so goood. Not too many places make sweet tea freshly brewed the right way and the sweet tea was so good and the blueberry lemonade oh boy!!! lol sooooo good. Definitely making another trip this way just for the food and great customer service. The owner/manager Jeff stopped by our table to check on our liking of the food. Jeff was a delight to speak with. You can tell he cares about customers and the presentation and customer liking of the food as well as the staff. If you haven’t tired Metro Diner you’re missing out.

I went yesterday, 08/09/2025 with my cousin. I ordered the chicken & waffles and she ordered biscuits with gravy and eggs. I remember vividly telling the server that I want my waffles crispy. When we received our order, my waffle wasn’t crispy. It was soft. I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it so I let it go, but considering I am a patron paying for a service, I should be able to voice my displeasure.
I informed the server that my waffles were not crispy like I ordered. (I do not think she specified crispy/well done when she placed the order.) She immediately said, “well you can’t get your meal for free since you ate half of it.” First, I never said I wanted a free meal. Second, I did not eat half of my food. I took one bite out of a drumstick and ate 2 out of the 4 precut waffle. Technically, that is not half of the meal. Third, how rude and disrespectful to not immediately apologize for your customer’s dissatisfaction. An apology should have been the first thing to come out of her mouth, but she assumed we were freeloaders. I can’t help but wonder if she would have told her white customers the same thing if they expressed their grievances to her. I doubt it. I have worked at restaurants before as a server and I carried myself more gracefully and respectfully at her age but I digress.
I was flabbergasted by her rudeness. I guess she saw my visibly shocked face and offered a delayed and specious apology, but I lost my appetite at that point. Ironically, she probably assumed since we were black we weren’t going to tip so she had an IDGAF attitude, but our bill was $37.06 and I gave her a $13 tip because I believe in tipping and treating people the way I want to be treated. I hope she learns to do the same. I do not remember the server’s name but she was a young blonde.
Subsequently, I went home and made waffles to my own satisfaction which I should NEVER have to do after going to a restaurant. It was my first time and will be my last time patronizing this establishment.
We were having issue finding a family oriented place to eat. LETS SAY WE ARE THRILLED to have found Metro Diner. The food was top tier! Best chicken I had in very long time! Fries super yummy! Seasoned and crisp, buns were toasted. Ahhhh true slice of nostalgic great eating! Very fair price scale on everything. We tried soups too and they were delicious. This was dinner visit count us in to return for breakfast.

Swung by for lunch while working at a remote office of ours. Absolutely incredible! The fried chicken plate was out of this world and can't wait to go back when Im in the neighborhood to try other menu options! Definitely worth stopping by if you havent!
We Love the Bensalem Metro Diner. Nick the manager is always great…so pleasant and helpful! We had a wonderful server today by the name of Ingrid who was super pleasant and informative. She and Nick had wonderful food recommendations that hit the spot…the rib appetizer was just enough, the pumpkin waffle with candied pecans was YUM as was the fish & chips, and the grits are always on point. AND then came the pumpkin bread pudding!!! Once again everything was delicious. We will be back!

I LOVE coming here for happy hour. They always have a good drink selection and it is usually not too busy unless there is a show nearby going on. I always get the thai chili wings, they are THE BEST wings I think I have had. I have also gotten their chicken sandwich and mac and cheese, which is amazing as well. I highly recommend visiting if you are looking for good food and drinks.
Great place to grab a drink. They are within walking distance to other places to drink. They have a jukebox. We came later in the evening so we didn’t eat or know if they offer anything.

There is daily happy hour from 4 to 7pm. The hibiscus tea cocktail is refreshing and delicious. I love the use of decomposible straws, not the paper ones that melt but the good ones that don't melt but still kinda good for the sea turtles! The plate is not cute but the food is absolutely delicious. The tempura green beans were so addictive! Little did we expect that to be any good. It was crunchy on the outside and softer on inside. We were seated outside and unfortunately got multiple bites by mosquitoes so beware! Not the restaurant fault - we should have known. Serving size were very generous and honestly great stop for a quick bar stop with friends.
Nice dark moody atmosphere for a bar, the food took a minute but was decent for bar food.
Chicken Mac and cheese was surely grilled and nicely seasoned but was a bit burnt.
Tried their spicy pineapple margaritas special and it was served in a rocks glass without any salt, which was unexpected but not being an avid margarita drinker I’m not too picky.
Protap burger was delicious bread perfectly toasted bun, burger meat had lots of flavor. The salad was alright would probably go for fries next time.
Also tried popcorn chicken. Which was just fried pieces of chicken a good sauce came with it but nothing too spectacular.
The brown derby was recommended and it was good drink.
Staff was friendly on a busy night and they made sure everyone was good perfect service.

I really want to like this place, because their food has been much needed in the late hours while in center city. Unfortunately, after a few typical visits, my most recent order had a large piece of plastic wrapped up in my chicken wrap. It was the night of the eagles win so I’m giving the kitchen staff the benefit of the doubt - and I couldn’t wait around to have them remake it since we already waited 30 mins and I’d miss my train home.
That being said, I alerted management the next day and have yet to hear anything back. The plastic in my chicken wrap has definitely left me feeling uneasy returning, especially with no accountability from the management.
Ordered the food for delivery through Grubhub and it was the worst food we’ve ever had. Don’t waste your time or money. The sandwich and wrap was prepared wrong. The serving sizes are abysmal. The popcorn chicken was dry and chewy. The fries were cold and stale. Grease dripping off of everything but somehow everything was still cold? Also don’t waste your money on paying for the sauces. They were a knockoff brand of the sauces you’d expect from a Burger King and had no flavor. Don’t be fooled, the picture shows two orders of popcorn chicken. Absolute waste and extremely disappointing!
Their "grilled" chicken which they charged an extra $1 for tasted like a processed piece of meat, not a fresh piece of chicken. It was dry but luckily the coleslaw and pickle made up for that.

Who hyped this place up? I went at 1030p Friday night. I had heard great reviews, but it was just a sandwich. The kiosk should be updated. I couldn't tell if the sandwich was asking to add extra toppings or we had to pay for the toppings. Either way it was a decent sandwich and if the other restaurants are closed, I'd visit again. I appreciated the location and late night hours too.
If I could give a zero I would. This place was horrible and fries hardly had any in bag. What was in there was grease. Popcorn chicken burnt and salad well. The lettuce looked old. No parmesan cheese and the grilled chicken looks like it was sitting in the freezer for about three months before they grilled it. I could’ve swore seeing the girl drop something and pick it back up and put in the fryer. Nightmare. 34.00 dollars never again
First time in Philly, got an overnight flight and knew it was way too early to check in, so I tried to look around and see what was open + walking distance to my hotel. Randomly came across Hatch & Coop and I could not have had better luck in finding it.
Not only is this spot open 24/7, but it was quiet, clean, and had a fun theme. Right away, the food looked good and the staff (Keith) were incredibly friendly and informative about the food/my options for the order. He also gave me some cool local info that, as an out of towner, I definitely appreciated.
Even though the food looked really good, it didn't prepare me for how spectatcular it actually tasted. I ordered a larger size to save half for later in the day, but I was quickly reconsidering. The sandwiches are tasty enough on their own, but the house sauce is a great thing to throw on if you want a little extra something.
When I'm traveling, I almost never go back to the same spot for food twice, but with a place like this so close to my hotel, I just might.
Was recommended by this place by coworkers so I finally went inside and order the sandwich the sandwich that I ordered you could not make changes to. using your typical touch screen display to order food I couldn't add things to my order. I had to argue with the attendant to get him to make changes and each thing he added charged me an extra $0.50 or so so my $12 burger went from $12 to 24.03. if you're looking for convenience on a place that's open 24 hours cool but outside of that for all that I will just go to Wawa. I'll attach a picture of my receipt.

We ordered the Gates of Hell, the Black Pig, and the Porfilio ramen bowls, and an order of Karaage. Ramen was $13 each and $9 for karaage. Dinner for 3 at $60 including tip is a good value in my opinion. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the pork belly chashiu was so tender it was falling apart! I had the black pig which was phenomenal with lots of black garlic oil. I added togarashi for slightly more spice. They also have a spice bomb option for any type of ramen they offer. I thought the Porfilio broth tasted too strongly of corn since it has corn in it, but I’m also very sensitive/picky. Server was friendly and the service was super fast. Ambience is nice too.
They are cash only which is an important note. Not an issue for us but nowadays many people do not carry cash. ATM was nearby however as we overheard the neighboring table did not realize it was cash only until time to pay the bill.
Also the server (maybe owner?) mentioned they close early some nights since the pandemic since they are less busy. He said to call ahead to ensure they are open (it says open til 10pm online but they closed the kitchen by 8:30 when we were there). They also offer takeaway and BYOB, plus they have a veggie ramen option!

Had a good late lunch here, the ramen was nice and juicy and was served within 10mins after order. Service was proper too, and the price of ramen ($15) was good as well. The tonkotsu ramen was fulfiling and delicious.

Great little ramen spot !!! I had the Hiro' inch of heaven $10. The broth was amazing and it did not disappoint. Although if you have a large appetite you may want to add an extra pork belly $2 or egg... This place is cash only but the have an ATM on site. They had plenty of seating available at the counter, however I can see this getting crowded at dinner time.
This is definitely one of Philadelphia's underrated ramen spots. They offer spicy ramen which seems to be difficult in the area. They do not accept cash on many of their days of the week, only credit card or venmo. They charred the pork belly exceptionally well too.

It's a very reasonable price with lunch special deals as well. It is located across the Jefferson hospital next to milk boys. I highly think this is the best spot for some authentic ramen. There's alot of space for dining in and good for groups!
Ordered the gates of hell and porfolio ramen which were on the salty side but very flavorful, rich and filling. We also ordered the gyoza which comes with an order 6 and was absolutely delicious! The prices are great, unfortunately it’s cash only but I believe the fair prices make up for that small inconvenience. Our order was to go and was done in 10 minutes!
Delicious!!! Cash only so you have to plan ahead but this is one of my favorite ramen places ever. If you only get 1 thing, get the gates of hell ramen and don’t forget the spice bomb. The vegetarian ramen is also delicious. We always get that with shoyu egg. You can tell they actually put effort into the vegetable broth. The takoyaki and house salad are also phenomenal. I would certainly recommend any of the fries as the portions were generous and the flavor did not disappoint.
The bao buns are decently flavored but also quite expensive at $5 per bun. The bossam is decent with a fair portion given the price but nothing amazing in terms of taste.
The wings portions was small and the galbi jjim was disappointing as it was basically beef bourguignon which I’m not much of a fan of, however the honey roasted pumpkin that it came with was delicious.
Overall, it’s a cozy little bar/restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. However, the dishes are pricey while not necessarily all being to my taste.

Bossam for 2 people doesn't look like a very big portion at first, but when you eat it in Korean way (warp the pork with the cabbage leaf with condiments plus kimchi maybe), it is a quite good portion. I would like the pork to be thinner, since it's hard to make it to a ssam but still it is Korean-American style so I think it doesn't need to be super authentic way.
Vibe is okay, not too fancy, good for casual dinner or lunch.
Cocktails are quite fun, all the names are Korean movies or K-drama titles. Innocent man was good (recommended for alcohol taste lovers) and handmaiden was a bit too fragrant for me but still enjoyable.
Sodduksodduk: as a korean it's a bit too pricy but fun to try, why not.

Plenty of options tonight, since they had an anniversary menu, happy hour menu AND the regular menu. Vegetarian options were expected. I got the bimbimbap and split the happy hour banchan with a friend. Happy hour deals were definitely worth it if getting drinks. Bimbimbap was good but I like others in the city better. Overall still a fun night out though and incredible service!
1. The food was good and cooked perfectly. The burgers and tacos were tasty but were underwhelming, as it kinda tastes like any other Asian style burger and taco.

A friend and I have been to SouthGate a couple times and will definitely go back soon. This is a great Korean-American gastropub with a delicious food menu and tasty Korean/Asian-influenced cocktails. The service is friendly and super prompt, and the space has a minimalist contemporary vibe that feels warm, friendly, and homey. All in all, SouthGate is a cool and welcoming neighborhood place to frequent solo or with friends.

First time was over 30 yrs ago on a date! Well….these women with me put a hurting on the food you see pictured here. Everything was fresh, delicious, comforting!
Service was fantastic. Best part? Seeing Corinne herself! Looking ‘fly’ as ever, chatting up memories of ‘back in the day’, Holmes Lounge memories, dancing to wee hours in the morning. This place remains a historic gem and significant to memories black patrons (particularly) can trace their own memories of food they GrandMama, Mama, Aunties, Uncles prepared with loving hands. I made sure to visit Corrine’s Place three times before writing this review to truly gauge the consistency in service and quality—and I’m so glad I did. Each visit was a heartwarming experience, thanks to the owner, Ms. Corrine, who made my guests and me feel like part of her family. Her genuine spirituality and passion for hospitality shine through from the moment you walk in the door.
The food is nothing short of exceptional. After three visits and sampling a wide variety of dishes with seven different guests, I can confidently say that Corrine’s Place is a gem for soul food lovers. My personal favorite is the whiting paired with candy yams and black-eyed peas—it’s a perfect harmony of flavors. I’ve also tried the green beans, collard greens, cabbage, and macaroni and cheese, all of which are outstanding examples of classic soul food. Every guest who joined me left thoroughly satisfied and eager to return.
If I had to offer one critique, it would be the iced tea. I’m not sure what brand is used, but it doesn’t quite match the high standard of the rest of the meal. Lipton’s or freshly brewed tea with lemon would elevate the experience, especially when paired with such authentic Southern dishes.
Despite this small note, Corrine’s Place has earned my loyalty. The food is delicious, the service is warm and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere feels like home. I’ll definitely be returning and bringing more friends and family to support this wonderful business. If you’re in Camden and craving soul food made with love, Corrine’s Place is a must-visit!
This is Absolutely, The Best Soul Food Anywhere in the USA!! They give you a very healthy serving of you entree. The portions of the sides, are so much, that you would never be able to eat it all in one sitting. The service is Awesome, and the atmosphere is very warm and inviting.

When I went back in the staff that took my order said “We don’t have any more chicken wings” I asked for my Money back!!!!! She said oh we don’t do refunds! WTH! YOU took my order plus my money had me wait 25mins to yet tell me you don’t have something!!!! But NEVER texted or called my phone to tell me!!!! Yeah NEVER AGAIN!!!!! That is POOR BUSINESS!!!! Found Corrine's out the blue after being in Camden for a baseball tournament this past Sunday. My family of 8 and I called and they were able to seat us all within 5 mins. Waitress, service, food and hospitality was amazing. We did the Sunday buffet ( 5 meats and sides for $35) and they pile on the food. Everything was delicious. The manager Vincent came out and introduced himself, gave us the history of the place and then introduced us to the owner, Mrs. Corrine. She talk with us for awhile and even gave my 6 year old son, presents from under their summer time tree. We will definitely be visiting again very soon. Worth the ride over the bridge.

Great place serving Taiwanese street food. I had the bao trio, comprising of pork belly. King oyster mushrooms and Taiwanese fried chicken for around $11. All were delicious, but I think I liked the King Mushrooms the most. It was something unique and something that I had never tried before.

Tons of flavor in such a small package. Baology is found in the heart of center city business district and delivers on point bao buns. Plenty of options from pork, chicken, beef and vegetarian. The lines get long during the lunch break but it is well worth it. The staff are pleasantly cheerful and answer all your questions. The touch screens make it easy to place your order to keep the line moving. Definitely a spot to check out if you're new to the city.
Unique fast casual counter serve spot serving up a variety of Taiwanese grub for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They’re situated among a strip of storefronts in the base of a larger building on JFK. Look for the chalkboard sign out front. Once inside you can expect a fast casual vibe with nondescript booths, yellow walls, and a few tablets to place your order.
The open kitchen confirms the majority of their menu is made in house. We went with a variety pack of bao buns, chicken wonton soup, Taiwanese fried chicken paired with slaw, and potstickers. We were most impressed by the soft, pillowy bao buns. Specifically, the heritage pork belly buns which are packed with tender meat, tangy picked radishes, creamy aioli, and slightly sweet crushed peanuts. The fried chicken was perfectly crunchy, but the accompanying slaw was a little plain for our taste. In fact, the texture of everything we ordered was phenomenal whereas the flavors, aside from the bao buns, weren’t as pronounced as we anticipated. To be clear, everything tasted great and the lack of bold flavor could be more a reflection of the cuisine than the kitchen.
The location and atmosphere suggest the majority of their business comes via to-go orders. I’d certainly return for a midweek order of bao buns or one of the menu items we didn’t order. Recommended for a quick, casual meal or creative to-go option.
Ok so… you won’t believe this place. Taiwanese from what I understand. Basically, it’s affordable 5 star Asian fusion. Most tender meat best veggies and in a quaint location. A MUST try. Best quick lunch in Philadelphia. No question about it.

First off, when I walked in I was immediately off-put by the decor (or lack their of). It appears the kitchen storage is all in the front of the restaurant- disorganized mess right there for everyone to stare at while they order and eat. I should have turned right around and walked away then- but figured I wouldn’t judge a book by its cover and would try the buns. If they are amazing, I can overlook the hole in the wall appearance.
I ordered the fried chicken and pork belly buns and both were mediocre - at best. That’s being generous.
The tight wrapping around each bun appears cute but makes for a difficult eating experience. The chicken was not a robust/juicy piece (for a $5 bun) and the pork belly was SUPER fatty. I know pork belly is supposed to be fatty- but this was all fat, no meat. The flavors were decent but the meats are poor quality. The pork belly bun was topped with crushed peanut “stuff” and made the whole thing SO messy. Another inconvenience for a quick bite mid work day.
You would think that for $5 per bun, they would be larger and with better quality ingredients. Both were stuffed into a tiny brown box which was good touched w greasy hands too. Not appealing.
I won’t be going back - and recommend you try “bao nine” down the street for delicious and more affordable buns. Or Chinatown! Womp. This place stinks.
I've been here a couple of times now, with nothing but excellent things to say about the food and the service.
The menu has a variety of meat free options available.
My favorites on the menu are the veggie potstickers, the cold longevity noodles, and the sweet potato donuts.
Definitely try the gwa bao, there are a ton of options. I had the oyster mushroom, and despite not caring for mushroom, I loved it.
The ruen bing are light and delicious little wraps filled with sauteed veggies, with your choice of a variety of proteins.
The potstickers are packed with flavor, with an equally tasty dipping sauce.
The cold longevity noodles are something I'm going to be dreaming about until the next time I can get them. They're super delicious, and I opted for the egg add-on, which made it even better.
If you're looking for a sweet treat to accompany your meal, the sweet potato donut holes are perfect.
They're crispy and sweet and good hot or cold.
Additionally, if you want to try something fun drink wise, give the Hey Song Sarsaparilla a go!

Amazing restaurant. All the food was incredible. I had always wanted to try a croque monsieur, and it did not disappoint.
Bread and appetizers were high quality and delicious. The cranberry nut bread was my favorite. Very moist and flavorful.
My wife is a connoisseur of fine French Onion soup, and she exclaimed that this was the best she'd ever had.
The quiche Lorraine was delightful, fluffy and crusty, very light. Portion size is perfect - you won't leave hungry but you won't need a cart to haul leftovers. Its just right.
Desserts are to die for. This is the best creme brulee I've ever had, and the chocolate mousse is the perfect flavor, sweetness and a magical consistency you cant make at home.
Service was perfect at well. Our server Samantha is delightful, quick with a knowledgeable recommendation and great conversation. The manager Sawyer visited our table and was clearly invested in the quality of food and performance of his staff.

This after the meal but the short ribs was not tender, the food is well seasoned although there was a different taste with the gravy on the dish.
Small menu but it's not bad just don't expect to get a lot of things, the greens were ok.. corn bread was amazing.. the fish was well seasoned but wasn't made correctly after two attempts.. it was corrected on the bill but would like to get the order right without interruption to dinner. A great Black-owned business in West, and had lots of good options for brunch. The staff was friendly and the food came out quick even with my large party. I ordered a breakfast burrito and it was mostly egg. I wished it came with a sauce other than ketchup but it was fine. The pancake was the star of the show by a long shot. Everyone MUST try!!! The outside was super crispy and the flavor was great.

It was a wonderful experience from the moment we walked in until we left. It felt like being welcomed by family. Service was fast and the wait staff was friendly. Passage Theatre held our annual staff retreat at Booker's today and the food was AMAZING! Delicious, seasoned well, great portions and just a fun time as we gathered for a much needed team building day as we go into our 41st season. Not one bite wasted! We started with appetizers Crispy Brussels Sprouts and the black eye pea hummus and for my meal, I had the Tofu Scramble. I love good eating, especially when there's a variety of options as we had someone in our group who is a vegetarian. Thank you and we'll be back for sure!

Worst one I've ever been to. The staff has the personality of a bag of rocks. Management or whatever that is the worst. I ordered fried chicken was told the oil was fresh. I got in my car was smelling it. Decided to taste it. Take like nothing but re cooked chicken in old oil. The real messed up part was i was told to wait for it for 20 minutes and that was the finish product. Worst place ever. It needs to close down!!!!!
I have been coming here for years, ever since it opened. I used to come to this location every morning, and sometimes in the afternoon. I ordered food just about every time.
I am at the point where I really don’t even want to stop to buy gas if I need to go inside. I deleted their app, I don’t even want the points.
The turnover on the employees is insane… that tells you all you need to know. The attitude is horrible, trying to pay cash is the biggest inconvenience to whoever is working the register.
The food is horrible. It used to be awesome… now it is about as fresh as sewage water on a 100 degree day.
Last week I couldn’t buy cigarettes because my ID wouldn’t scan for some reason, even though my valid state ID says I am 40 years old. I was told its not possible to purchase cigarettes without scanning an ID, and when I said this is the first time I was carded since the place opened, I was told I was wrong.
Last time I was there, I had to receive $9 change in COINS because they didn’t have $1s or $5s. When I offered to give her another $1 so my change would be $10 and I could get a $10 bill back instead of a sack of coins, she couldn’t comprehend the complex mathematics required to achieve this.
And dont even get me started on the trash and how filthy.

It's a road stop. Has a variety of items to eat, snack and drink. Beer ok, and some small bottles, also alcohol slushies. The chicken is decent and rolls or biscuits. The ready made milkshake was OK too. Depending on the time characters can be around like and convenience store. It clean and well lit inside.

But it turns out that in this place, you have to wait 5 minutes for someone to open the bathroom door. My husband purchased chicken at Royal Farms, ARAMINGO AVE, PHILA, PA on Monday, May 12, 2025. The chicken was so dry, overcooked- I felt like I was eating mummified chicken. We are very disgusted that after a long days work, this is what they would serve us for our hard earned money.

As soon as i walked in they told me it would be a 45 minute wait yet I overheard them telling others it would be a 10 minute wait. Then the host/waiter asked me what I wanted and didn’t even give me a menu.
I saw one of the waiters running around and asked her if they had any mock-tails or 0% Beers or Wine and she said no and told me they had soda and to check over at the wall…and walked away…She never said anything else to me.
I watched the initial host greet, sit, offer drinks, have casual conversation, and deliver food to multiple people and not once did he acknowledge me until the pizza was almost ready and even then no one offered me a glass of water. Many people came in after me and got their pizzas and food before me after I watched the host/waiter take their order. Later on, he did apologize for the quality and lack of service. I explained to him that I’ve ordered from them on Door Dash and loved the “Peppe Le Bleu” pizza and wanted to simply experience it fresh out of the oven.
The experience was pretty disheartening but I’ll accept the fact that maybe everyone was flustered and potentially understaffed…so I appreciate the apology but still needed to be transparent on my experience. When I walked in there were many open seats inside and outside, so I’m not really sure why they told me before I even got a menu that it would be a 45 minute wait, especially when others came in after me and got their stuff before me.
Outside of the bad service, the “Peppe Le Bleu” pizza that I ordered was AMAZING and hands down the best rendition of a Pepperoni Pizza I’ve had in West Philly…Safe to say, if I ever eat from there again it’ll be ordered on a delivery app rather than dining in.
The pizza and salad were pretty good. They seem to have a good selection of craft beers. Unfortunately the vegetarian carbonara was terrible. The pasta was extremely over cooked and mushy. I would avoid all the pasta on the menu, but I think the main draw here is the pizza anyway. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible via a ramp which is great. However most of the seating is bar stools at the bar and around the windows. If you’re disabled, call the restaurant first to see if normal dining tables are available.
The bartender Jamie was super helpful and kind enough to take my order while I had my dog on a leash. Wait time was reasonable, while I waited for my pizza (ordered the Diablo Pizza with Pepperoni…I’m gonna give it a 8/10). The service from Jamie was phenomenal & above and beyond…I received a cold cup with ice water because I was outside waiting hence I had the dog. The pizza was ok…I don’t think it was worth the price but the service made up for it…I will be back without the dog :)
This was our first visit to this establishment. The pizza selection is quite extensive, with many options available for vegans. The atmosphere is spacious and inviting. Although the space is not very large, it is well utilized. Our server, Haley, promptly greeted us upon arrival and provided linen napkins and silverware. She offered us drinks, including water with slices of lemon and lime. The drink menu includes a variety of options, from cocktails to wines.
After much deliberation, we decided to order the vegan white pie, which was topped with kale, shiitake mushrooms, onions, housemade tofu, ricotta cheese, and vegan mozzarella. The pie arrived within 12 to 15 minutes of placing our order. The thin, crusty crust was generously topped with cheese, mushrooms, and kale. While we found the pizza to be delicious, we felt that it could benefit from a touch more seasoning. We also ordered a side of hot honey, buffalo sauce, and garlic for added flavor.
The medium-sized pie proved to be quite satisfying for the two of us, with a diameter of approximately 12 inches. Despite feeling full, we couldn't resist ordering a dessert. To our surprise, they offered vegan options, including freshly made donut holes made from pizza dough and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. These treats were served with a delightful caramel dipping sauce.
The ambience of the restaurant was delightful, with light and relaxing music playing in the background. The service provided by Haley was very good, and we look forward to returning to sample more of their menu offerings.

We asked for real (dairy) cheese when we ordered, were surprised to find a few shavings of parmesan cheese. We called to ask where the mozzarella was and were told that only comes with the vegan/vegetarian mozzarella option. What? This is a vegetarian pizza. That was not communicated to us when we ordered. No apology given for not clarifying when we ordered. Or about not putting all the greens on one side as we had asked so that my grandfather could eat it.

Felt like they were skimping on ingredients and the flavor was not good. I had a few good bites of eggplant and broccoli rabe. If we were in the restaurant we would have sent it back. (My aunt said definitely send it back. Writing on behalf of my family lol.) Honestly I would be embarrassed if I had made this for a family dinner.
I’d give this a 5/5 for the pizza but the other dishes were disappointing (2/5 max) but -1 star only seeing as pizza is their main thing. I got the Johnny Hots pizza and that was excellent. Great flavors and the crust was perfect to my liking - chewy and fluffy! The peppers were actually spicy (yay) and the pork was good too. I also got the hot chicken salad and that was pretty bad. Way too much dressing, very very greasy chicken, and absolutely NO spiciness. I’d go back for the pizza, for sure, but don’t get the hot chicken!
My friends got the hot chicken sandwich and the sriracha honey pizza and they loved the pizza and said that the sandwich was ‘good.’

Frankly, every bite I took was amazing. We did brunch tapas style, ordered a bunch of things so we could taste more. To be honest, I was going to ask to go into the kitchen to see if my mom was there, because there is no way the chicken was that good and she wasn't. The salads were perfectly dressed, we thought about packing up the French dip from heirloom crudité and eating it with crisps. Drink and wine selections were spot on, and the staff was ever attentive. I've already selected a few friends I find worthy for a return visit.

I stumbled upon this place while googling for fried chicken near me and from the reviews, I knew I had to try it out. This restaurant has an intimate upscale feel, you wouldn’t even think it’s known for fried chicken. The menu has a good selection of appetizers and of course their most popular fried chicken or fried mushroom course. You can choose between half a chicken (for 2) or whole. The half is definitely more than enough for two if you add in a shareable side or appetizer. Definitely a place to treat yourself to fancy fried chicken.
-Poulet Frit 1/2: five pieces of fried chicken, two drums, two breasts, and a wing. The chicken was nice and crispy on the outside and super tender and juicy on the inside. You know it’s good fried chicken when you see it glistening with oil. I was especially impressed that the breast was moist and not dry at all. The chicken paired was lavender honey was definitely the way to go! The honey was not overpowerly floral in taste and complemented the savory chicken really well.

The chicken was delicious 😋 , The Sandwich was great, the Cauliflower Gratin surprisingly tasted just like Mac. Sad to say the mashed potatoes were the weak point for me. But overall the meal was great and the service was top of the line i wish i could remember the young lady’s name who helped us, but she was very inviting and knowledgeable about the menu options.
I can definitely recommend Bar Poulet. There isn't a single bad dish on the menu. There are some great staff working here. The atmosphere is so fun, and inviting. I will absolutely be returning.
Some highlights include the deviled eggs, the blue cheese salad, and the fried mushrooms. It sounds funny since the centerpiece of the place is the chicken but TRUST ME. The deviled eggs are so truffle-y, the blue cheese salad is covered in blue cheese and it's everything I wanted. The mushrooms are so well coated, cooked, and seasoned. The pickled veggies that came with the fixed price were really good. I just couldn't eat anymore after everything else.
The sandwich was good! It felt like something I would order for lunch. The fried chicken dinner was great, and my partner destroyed it. Both desserts were really great. The chocolate mousse was a personal favorite and I don't even really love chocolate.
The sauces... Just get all the sauces. They're all amazing. But if you have to pick: the honey, the beer-naise, and the curry mayo are my top choices. Truffle veloute is close.

The fried chicken is hands down the best! It’s so tender and savory. My family and I had an amazing time here. Our waitress suggested a great champagne and the non-alcoholic drink was a 10/10 as well. Definitely recommend.
Simply: EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS. I when I heard about this place being a fine dinning fried chicken restaurant , it was hard to grasp at first. LOL However, it was an amazing time. The music and ambiance completed the meal. Hosts and wait staff where friendly and professional. Food came to the table quick, fresh and hot. We ordered the truffled deviled eggs, three cheese charcuterie with seasoned nuts and fruit spreads and the amazing fried Chicken. If you haven’t been I HIGHLY recommend. It’s perfect for date nights, birthdays, ladies nights and any other celebration you may think of. I can’t wait to go back.

Place was empty on a Thursday night around 6:45pm. I really wanted to like this place but was on the fence. Did half dark and half white meat. The breading on the chicken is a little too crunchy. Pieces are huge. The white meat ones had just come out so were fresher/juicier. The chicken itself did not have that much flavor - which kind of requires you to get one of the sauces, which seems like they want to highlight. Wanted the Mac and cheese, but there was very little left and what was left did not look appetizing at all. The biscuit was dry and tasteless. Price of beers, etc is very reasonable. Counter seating and a couple high top tables to sit at only. Really wanted to like this place but overall it’s just okay.

I normally don’t write reviews for anything but this experience was egregious. Waited in over an hour plus line and ended up receiving no food. As I got up to the counter thats when they ran out of food but were still preparing to go orders for delivery/doordash it didn’t make sense. They said people behind us probably won’t get food but they said we would. If they said way beforehand that they most likely were going to run out soon as I was towards the back I would have just left. But I decided to miss train to wait it out as it seemed like they were going to sell to everyone. I asked them what they could do for us and they basically just stared at us as if we did not just wait in line for over an hour not to be served.
This place restores my soul! The service is awesome, only to be outdone by their amazing selection of comfort foods. I usually get the chicken tenders and cole slaw or mac&cheese. Homemade baked goods as well! Best I've ever had. Also, they have a well stocked bottle shop with a wide selection of some of the finest craft beers I've seen all in one place. Atmosphere is casual and welcoming! Great location, worth the trip if you're traveling. So much to do in town too.

They also sell beer . One of my favorite late night spots to pop in grab a beer or some chicken or both . Okay draw is the electric outlets used to work and u could charge your phone while eating and having a beer . There are lots . However as of recently none of them work . Besides that place is grade A
Tried getting fried chicken over a salad to balance out with something lighter. Salad had nice fresh veggies but it was ruined by too many sweet toppings and gross syrupy dressing. Totally inedible I picked out the chicken (which was pretty good) but the meal as a whole was pretty disappointing.8

The waffle fries were a standout side! Crispy and golden, I could hardly resist going back for seconds plus cheese whizz was a nice contrast. Rating 4/5. Portion size was small.
Ordered the cheesesteak wrap with American cheese and fried onions. This wrap was a hearty addition to my meal, filled with flavorful steak they put cheese whizz instead of the American cheese. I personally would not have ordered the wrap if I knew it would have the cheese whizz which is why I ordered the American cheese. The fried onions added a nice crunch and depth of flavor that really elevated the dish. Rating 3/5. If it would have had the American cheese I am sure it would have been a 5/5, the steak quality was also good.
To wash it all down, I opted for an orange crush soda. It tasted like a cleaning product so I would definitely recommend not getting their fountain soda. Rating 1/5.
Finally, I couldn't resist ending my feast with the funnel cake fries topped with powdered sugar. These were a sweet delight! Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, they were like a carnival treat right in my own home. The powdered sugar made them feel indulgent, and they were the perfect sweet finish to a savory meal. Rating 4/5.
Overall, my experience with CRISP CHIK'N was mixed rating 3.5. The food was delicious, the prices were fair (especially ordering directly), and everything arrived hot and fresh. If you're in Lansdowne and looking for a satisfying comfort food fix, I highly recommend giving CRISP CHIK'N a try don't order the fountain soda definitely try the mild chicken tenders.

They have some my favorites such as the plate lunch with the fried chicken, kalua pork, etc, but now they also serve other Hawaiian specialties and their tuna poke all the time. Oh my!! This took me back to all those delicious little diners and eateries around Hawaii with the amazing loco moco! I had been craving L&L, at the very least, for so long and to find a place with such delicious flavors and authentic feel made it all the better. The servings were a good size and the lunch platter offers the chance for a variety of Hawaiian staples to find the flavors you want most.
The poke is sort of hit or miss.. sometimes the fish tastes really fresh and seasoned really well. Sometimes it’s tasteless. If this place could improve a little on its consistency it would be such a great place!
My first experience with Hawaiian food and it was delicious! My friend actually teared up with her first bite of the shoyu ahi poke bowl because it was exactly what she remembered for living in Hawaii. And I'm not normally a mac salad fan but I ate all of it. The moco loco and kalua pig portions are generous; the poke, while delicious, was definitely mostly rice. There was soy and chili pepper water to annoint things. We both had hibiscus tea, tart and refreshing. Will definitely return, and tell people to go!

Order arrived by bike 20 minutes before promised that was the only plus. The biscuits were doughy, as if cooked in the microwave. The chicken had feathers in each of the 4 pieces. The mashed potatoes were over salted, the Cole slaw was inedible and tasteless. The chicken was soooooooaked in grease... See it glistening? And the popcorn chicken was grease soaked, halfcooked pieces of chicken thigh meat that tastes spoiled. This was my first and only order and it cost over $40 and I still have to get dinner. Inedible. The 2nd star is because they were so fast with delivery.

The shop is super small. They only have room for like 4 people to eat in. So if you’re a group, order out! But for a small place they pack a big punch of flavors. I had their vegan version of the redcrest burger and it was delicious. From beginning to end, fries were delicious as well. But the price is a little inflated in all seriousness. Oh and you have to pay for the honey dip for the biscuit, I’d understand if it was for an extra sauce but I don’t make the rules.
Way better than KFC. Outer texture is crispy while inside is moist and juicy. Have their own dipping sauses and sides are pretty decent. Popcorn chicken is larger than normal ones from KFC. Plus they deliver. I had the buttermilk. Now ready for the spicy. Check them out when you have a chance.

The fried chicken was fantastic. I loved both seasonings. The spicy was probably my favorite. It wasn't all that spicy, but it was flavorful.

Trying this restaurant for the first time ordering through uber eats. I ordered the spicy fried chicken, Mac and cheese and fries. The packaging for the Mac and cheese and fried chicken was fine . The packing for the fries was horrible!!! They put my fries in a paper bag! Unsanitary!!!! Why wouldn’t you put the fries in a platter style package????! The flavor on the fries and chicken was good , but the Mac and cheese was bad. Not cheesy or baked. It tasted like instant Mac and cheese. presentation sucked! I will not be ordering from here again.
I had heard some great reviews from food bloggers - so my expectations were set to high. Sadly I was disappointed. My friend and I arrived right at opening time. We each ordered the fried chicken sandwich. It was dry and leathery. My guess is they reheated the chicken from the previous day as it was hot on one side of the sandwich only. The pickles and sauce were tasty. I am hoping this was a one off - and may try it again.
Walked here from center city and it was worth every step! Got 2 orders of the half chicken in mild and spicy, the Mac and greens. It was so GOOD. Chicken was flavorful and crispy, the greens were my favorite such a unique flavor and the Mac was bomb. 10/10 recommend
I’ll have to come back when I’m hungry I forced myself to come out here since I’ve wanted to try for few years. Had the half chicken, collard greens n Mac n cheese all of which seemed under seasoned but idk the chicken was good n while I wish for more heat I forgot to add sauces. Was hoping the collard greens would have ham hock but did not and was kind of blandish and Mac n cheese was ok wished for more cheese lol but I’ll have to come back for the doro bet which I’m told is spicy. I got the sweet kerkede was too sweet for me this day lol. I should have went with first gut call of the wings and doro bet. Nice staff and good service.
Sauces are the best part! Everything is delicious and I love that the fried chicken is gluten free since that’s hard to come by. The people there are helpful and friendly despite the pressure of the crowd. Even though it’s usually busy I’ve not had trouble finding a seat when I’ve gone. Take out is easy too. I do pickup and it’s always ready within 15 minutes.
Haven’t tried the gluten free tres leches cake yet but I really want to.
Wowowow. The most delicious fried chicken in Philly. Flavors everywhere. Both the spicy and mild chicken are amazing. The star may be the falafel salad. The falafel have a great kick of spice. The tea is delicious as well. So happy I finally got down here and can't wait to be back.
The atmosphere was calm, warm and clean. The staff were friendly and inviting, the prices were reasonable and the selections were decent. Unfortunately, the food was one step below palatable. My fried chicken was overcooked, and overly salty. The fries were cooked perfectly, but overly salty. I really wanted to like this place.

This was my first time dining at Picnic. Upon arriving on a Tuesday evening, my companion and I were immediately seated. The interior is cavernous and beautiful. A large arrangement of antique-looking mirrors adorn the far wall, giving the large dining room a feeling of even larger space.
We skipped the appetizers and ordered glasses of rosé, the half chicken (to share), salad, broccoli, and for dessert, chocolate cake.
To sum it up, everything was delicious. With the half chicken you’re allowed to select two sauces that will be served on the side. The salad, while unconventional looking, had a great taste that complimented the chicken.
Our server was as nice and attentive as can be. This was a great dining experience. I look forward to returning.

Really great. Everything we ordered was tasty. Cape May Salt oysters are always a hit. The toppings served with the oysters are unique and elevate the experience. The salad on top of the pork schnitzel and the schnitzel itself is super flavorful. My only feedback is regarding the drinks, an orange peel garnish on the suit and tie would go a long way!

Took the family out to celebrate an engagement Sunday evening. The restaurant is looks great. We got a booth and Mariah was our server. She was great. The food was great. The service was great. We have no complaints. Everything was perfect. We ordered a bunch of items of the menu to share. The kids enjoyed the food and my kids are extremely picky. It was a plus coming here on a Sunday cause it’s also happy hour all day.
Amazing happy hour oysters ($1.50 each) Mon-Fri from 5pm-6:30pm and *all day* on Sunday! The grilled pea shoots were so yummy and the frozen yogurt was delicious. Excellent service, great drinks, wonderful open atmosphere! They have outdoor seating too.
What an incredible spot! This place has such a great vibe, especially during happy hour—amazing deals and a truly impressive wine selection. They're known for their rotisserie chicken and oysters, and let me tell you, they absolutely deliver.

Decided to grab dinner with friends on a Tuesday night. It was busy for a weekday night! Absolutely love the atmosphere, our waitress, and the dishes we got but a bit disappointed that our large plates took 30+ minutes to come out. This was my first time coming here to order for my large family. We were greeted in the front by a nice blonde woman. I'm so sorry for not getting her name. She was extremely nice and helped us place our large order. Andy was so nice and shy about taking his picture but, he is a good sport. We ordered whole chickens in a variety of flavors as well as Kimchi, Bulgogi, buttered egg rice , odun soup and we received sides of coleslaw. I would recommend coming here. The food was good.

Placed an order for fries, they were almost four dollars for a small bag. They taste pretty good but are super dry they definitely need something like ketchup to go with them. I consider myself to be a fried chicken connoisseur and I've been going here for about 4 years now. The staff is really nice and welcoming and the food is consistently excellent. The fried chicken is always crispy (I order the sauce on the side) and everything is always freshly made. I live within a 10 minute walk from this place and I never order during peak busy hours so that might be a factor in why I've had consistently positive experiences here. I've never gotten a wrong order either.

Absolutely amazing chicken!! So crunchy and juicy!! All the people who work there are super warm and friendly. The lady at the counter took time out to let me sample the sauce (even though the phone was ringing and we were not the only customers).
If you have a taste for Korean style fried chicken go to Andy's. You will not be disappointed at all.
And she said about 25 minutes but called us back in about 10 minutes.

Pizza is A+! Thin crust, great flavor! We’ve had it often since discovering our entire family including a picky kid all love it. Tonight I tried something new—the pizza fries. Sadly, they were cold and missing the fresh cut basil and gran moravia. If I wanted regular, nothing special about them pizza fries, I would have went closer to home. I know you don’t ever get what is advertised in menu food pics, but at least include the toppings listed. What I got on the left vs the toppings I should have got on the right. We will just stick to pizza from now on.
My husband has been following Pizza Plus on Instagram for a while and we finally got there today. The pizza was everything he had hoped for! We got a 9inch pan pizza with red sauce, sausage, spinach and pesto drizzle. We also got an order of fried pickles with the chipotle mayo dip. Everything was good! My only criticisms are that there could have been more sausage on the pizza and the fried pickles could have been crispier. It’s a tiny counter-only place with no seating which we didn’t realize. Also there are more options online than on the board in-store, so check out the menu online before you go. All-in-all it was worth the trip. We will be back!
I ordered a pan pepperoni and a plain Cheesesteak. They were both very good, however, I was violently ill from the food a few hours later. I hadn't eaten anything else that day.
EDIT: I assure you it WAS your food. It was the only thing I ate. I never said you had a dirty kitchen. Sometimes, product comes contaminated. I spent 20 years as working with FDA during facility inspections.

You can never go wrong with Pizza Plus! Their regular pizzas are amazing but I love getting the pan pizzas. Even their other foods hit the spot too. They're usually pretty quick but it also depends on the volume of orders coming through. Great spot in South Philly!
This place has a pretty extensive vegan menu. The vegan cheesesteak was awesome. I've had many vegan cheesesteaks in Philly throughout the years, and I'd put this in top 2 or 3. Soft seeded roll, great cheez to seitan ratio, and it was hot and freshly grilled.
I also tried the pizza fries which were just okay, and I wouldn't order again.

Ordered a deep dish and hand tossed to try for first time. The deep dish/pan pizza was good..crust was nice sauce great. Pepperoni has flavor but for how much they charged, I expected more, a lot more. I would have said that was a bucks worth, not three. The hand tossed was terrible crust was so tough and chewy, like a bad piece of well done meat. Delivery finally arrived, barely warm, very disappointed for only 8 blocks down the street. The boxes were soaked in grease, I cant remember the last time I ever saw so much that it went right through to the bottom on to the table. I dont think Ill order again but would recommend one tries the Pan style pizza. Just be wary of price for topping and what you get.
The vegan cheesesteak is one of the best I’ve ever had. It was a very good size and the roll was super soft. The vegan wings were delicious too. We also had onion rings which were nice, crispy and seasoned. I’ll definitely be back

The taro milk tea and takoyaki were amazing! Sitting by the window makes it even better, great spot to enjoy a cozy and delicious treat. The creamy, sweet taro flavor pairs perfectly with the crispy and savory takoyaki.
Food / Service: I went here with a friend and tried their recommended Takoyaki. This was six pieces of a flour-based batter filled with diced octopus, topped with Takoyaki sauce, mayo, and tuna flakes. I was scared to try it at first, but was pleasantly surprised by the taste! The Takoyaki is freshly fried, so my only advice is to give it time to cool down before your first bite!
Service: The service was quick and friendly. The cashier graciously answered all of our questions and gave us recommendations for what to try.
I have come here a few times and I have always been happy with my experiences!! They have good drinks for every season! And they have everything from lighter to heavier foods for whatever mood you are in. I recommend this spot and I look forward to returning!
Very good place. Very delicious Boba here. I think this place is somewhere to take the entire family. In the spring, they also sell frozen yogurt. A nice little surprise offer is that they sale Chicken Tenders and other delectable treats. It's clean and spacious. You should come here with a laptop and work remotely here. Stop on by for a delicious and filling Boba treat.
I found parking right out front so that was a plus because Main Street can be busy. It wasn’t anybody in there when I arrived but oriole starting coming after me. They have a system where you can order on or go up and order with the cashier. So was nice and explained what I didn’t understand. Service was pretty fast. The vibe was mellow. Nice music playing. Came here from California where we drink bubble tea like it's coffee. We ordered Mango milk swirl and Strawberry milk swirl which is kind of unique. These are not their specialties, but both of them taste amazing!! There are fresh fruits on the bottom of the drink and the milk on the top is very creamy and delicate. The flavor was rich and well balanced, but you can also choose different sugar level based on your preference.
We ended up ordering more food: chicken sandwich and honey garlic wings (half spicy). The chicken sandwich was so good!!! The buns are so soft and there's a huge piece of juicy chicken in the middle! :D Definitely recommend getting that if you are craving for a bite. The wings are a nice plus. It's crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside. Yum.
There are also many other options on the kitchen menu. For sure will come back again and try other stuff.

My new favorite place! My son and I went and all the food was delish! Their service was quick and kind. Their sauces were deep with flavors, but not heavy. A true fine dining experience right off of South Street but without prices to make you cry. Not your traditional Italian joint; just wonderful creative inspired dishes with personality in every bite. Honestly some of the best dishes I have ever tried. The chefs here are true artists and balance delicate flavors with bold highlights without overpowering each other.
Come with good company and enjoy great dishes in a cozy atmosphere. (Parking can be tricky - near south street but worth walking a few blocks.)
I absolutely love the food at Red Crest, especially their chicken—it’s incredible! I really want this place to be successful because it has so much potential. However, the last couple of times I’ve been there have left me a bit concerned. During my most recent visit, I unfortunately saw multiple mice running around the restaurant. In fact, there were three of them wandering around, which was just too much to ignore.
I brought it to the attention of our server, but the response was less than reassuring. The server barely acknowledged the issue, offering only a quick “sorry” and then walking away without any indication that they were taking steps to address the situation or even get an exterminator involved. It was honestly disappointing because it’s hard to enjoy the meal when something like that is going on in the background.
I hate having to leave this review because I genuinely love the food and the vibe of Red Crest, but I really hope they can address this situation and work towards making the environment as good as their food. I want to continue supporting this place, but for now, I’m not sure I’ll be back until I feel confident that these issues have been resolved.
This place is FANTASTIC!!!! One of our new favorite places to dine in Philly. All the dishes are bright, creative and delicious- the pictures tagged say it all. The chicken liver toast is a must, such a unique take on typical liver toast. Also, the proteins are cooked to perfection every time. The veggie based apps are always so bright and refreshing as well. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for this place as more people discover it!

Casual korean fried chicken spot! Saw this on my way home and was craving soy garlic wings so I stopped in.
I got the 10 piece soy garlic wings and it came out to $16 with tax. Service was friendly and quick. The wings themselves are small but the sauce was delicious. I did feel like they could have been a bit crispier - I prefer Cafe Soho or Bonchon just a bit more.
I haven't eaten what I ordered yet and I don't know if I will! Everything was fine until I tried to figure out how the combo they had worked. The waitress almost repulsed me when I tried to switch from sweet fries to regular fries. Plus, they cook in a place where you can't see it, so I thought they might have put something in my food. The waitress spent the whole time while my order was being prepared talking in another language to someone who was taking my order. She never came back to that place again. We have enough chicken in America to get angry at a place like that.

Best fried chicken I’ve found in Philly so far. I am a big fan of extreme spicy food and the “so hot”chicken wing are quite literally the best spicy chicken I’ve ever had. There is excellent flavor behind the heat, that’s really hard to pull off. I will say it’s not for the faint of heart, I have a high spice tolerance and these were crazy.
I buy food here for my children. I like the new Korean chicken sandwich with honey garlic sauce.
Fresh chicken made on the spot with a good selection of flavors. A huge variety of beers and IPA's sourced both locally and from far. I love the way they season their fries. The dumplings are phenomenal and the rice bowls will fill you up before you know it. Definitely one of my favorite spots to eat at for me and my 6 boys(3 teenage sons and their three friends) who all agree that it's the best-tasting chicken around.
So glad this place popped up near us! We use to have to drive pretty far for good Korean fried chicken! But not anymore! Great chicken! They're expanding their menu as well, so far the fried chicken is still the best thing on the menu. They also have a wide selection of beer! Very impressed! I visited Andy’s for a quick weekend dinner when I was in the area. It’s a fast casual setup with a good amount of seating inside. The employee at the register did a great job answering any questions that I had.
I placed my order for a Honey Garlic Half Chicken and some Spicy Fries. The food came out in less than 15 minutes, which I thought was very reasonable for made to order items.
The meal was excellent; every part of it was great quality. The chicken maintained exceptional crunch and while still having a generous coating of sauce. Both the light and dark meat were tender. The Honey Garlic sauce had the perfect balance of sweet and savory garlic flavors. The Spicy Fries were also cooked to perfection with a delicious spice blend seasoning them.
My experience at Andy’s was great. Both the food and service are great quality. The eating area is clean and well-maintained. I recommend this spot to anyone in the area and can definitely see myself returning in the future.

I assumed my nephews would like the one with no sauce so I got that and they actually enjoyed the ones with so I feel like I made a mistake.
I ordered Korean sweet chili and that was really good and honey garlic and also very good.
I got the bulgogi rice bowl. My only complaint was the egg was hard boiled so the yolk was all in it and I didn’t love that. But overall I think it’s 5 stars because that was really my only problem.
The sides are very small too
I guess that’s another complaint because the size of the side is a small at like McDonalds probably. Like a little paper bag.

Mr. Andy’s is a small casual spot with delicious food! There’s only about 4 tables inside for dining-in, but the service was quick and very friendly. We had the bulgogi bowl and the honey garlic wings—We can’t wait to try more things from the menu!
We enjoyed this restaurant 😋 it was our first time visiting and the service was nice and inviting. We got our order sat down by the windows and just enjoyed our lunch. Looking forward to going back soon.

The chicken was perfect ✅ Nice crunch around the outside and soft on the inside. The seasoning was perfect. Sweet Thai chili sauce was just right. Definitely order the chicken if you’re coming here.

$$ just save your money, bland hard chicken, double fried with kind of tempura batter. Some of our chicken was really dark like old. And that was a chicken breast. We got the family special that had four sides and one side wasn't even enough for one person, we put the sauce on the side but the sauces were so little you lucky you had enough for one piece of chicken. Fries were regular sweet potato fries were okay onion rings had five onion rings in that tempura batter coleslaw was not very good at all. The only parking is meter parking around so you have to pay to park. I'm not sure how this place made my list but what a disappointment I've just saved you time and lots of money. If you do decide to try I would suggest the lunch special before 3:00 it might be worth it. I may be a little picky but I've eaten fried Chicken All My Life coming from the south and from businesses like Federal donuts to shaded Maple with Amish fried Chicken this place does not even compare.

I decided to stop in for lunch yesterday afternoon after realizing that wokworks was no longer at this location, and also after noticing what looked like huge round deep fried chicken cutlets on display in the window. It turns out that these were actually deep fried crispy rice balls. I decided to have the Thai chicken crispy rice salad, and honestly wasn't disappointed by it.
Seating does appear to be somewhat limited, and I can easily see the space filling up with the lunch crowds. I did notice that they have noodle soups on the menu, and this is a great addition for the fall and upcoming winter, and I do plan on trying them the next time.
It was... pretty good. Nothing was bad, but it really expensive for fast casual. I like the southeast Asian twist but I feel like this place hasn't really found it's niche. Much better restaurants in the area, at better prices. It's worth a try though.
Great spot for a bowl of hot noodle soup on a cold day whenever you're around rittenhouse. The service was quick even at 12:30 on a weekday.
Ordered the thai soup with thai grilled chicken. The broth reminded me of a creamy Tom kah soup, heavy on the basil. I am also not a huge chicken person, but the grilled thai chicken was delicious. Very tender and flavorful.
Be prepared for extremely long wait time (35+ minutes for take out), terrible customer service, and food so over seasoned it loses all taste.
The manager mentioned in the other reviews let another person cut us in line for the last table (there are only 4), so we ended up waiting for 40 minutes for our food. Not only that, but the people who cut us for the table also got it before us.
I had the crispy rice salad. Any flavor in the underlying dish was completely drowned in the overwhelming vinegar dressing. They forgot ingredients in the salad as well. To crown it all off, not only did it taste terrible, but there was a large piece of plastic in my food.
This place sucks. It’s also overpriced. Save your $30 for lunch and spend it elsewhere.
The food at stock is rather quite delicious and the presentation is unexpected for a place that can serve food as quick as they do. The rice bowl with yellow curry, mint, grilled chicken (ugh it's so good I've considered a whole plate of it) really hits the spot on cold days. The spicy dishes have some heat although if you care for more, then just simply ask. Finally I've found that the Rittenhouse location simply nails the food better than the Fishtown one.
Ordered on Caviar, and I think this location's menu is even better than the Fishtown location's menu. If you're looking for a sandwich, the Philly is fantastic. My cold noodles arrived well refrigerated and very tasty. Finally the Cambodian Pork dip with cabbage was well spiced and filling. All in all, great prices for great meals.
Food is super tasty and the restaurant is Celiac/gluten-free friendly. I've eaten the peanut noodles with fried chicken more times than I care to admit and the good deal broth with grilled chicken couldn't be tastier. Plus the team working there is great!

Went back and got the crispy salmon bites and chicken satay as app. The entrees we got were the drunken noodles w/ tofu and the surf 'n turf. The dessert was their cheesecake.

Crispy Salmon bites with Teriyaki glaze:
light but crispy outside
very moist on the inside
Teriyaki glaze is done very well in that it is reduced down which gives it a strong impactful flavor.
surf 'n turf:
comes with steak, salmon, and a thai dipping sauce that has some sour flavor to it,
The steak and salmon are served on hot a wooden plate which allows for the meat to take on a nice earthy and wood taste which was why I thought that they grilled using either wood or charcoal.
The sear on the steak is done really well ~ nice crunch and bite while remaining tender on the inside. We got it done medium well cuz of a group but personally it would probably taste better if gotten medium or medium rare.
The salmon is glazed with teriyaki as well. The outside of the salmon is seared with a very hot pan, making the skin of the salmon juicy and crunchy. Inside was moist and juicy. There were no dry spots like you some places do salmon.
The sauce accompanying the steak compliments the steak very well. Not the salmon as much but some people liked to dip it in.
Cheesecake:
much lighter than something from the Cheesecake factory
fresh whipped cream was nice
the fruit drizzle provided a nice tart to constrast the cake itself.

I have officially found my favorite Drunken Noodles in the city. Not greasy. Rich flavor. Crunchy veggies. We also ordered the Thai Basil rice. So much tofu with fantastic texture. Again, the veggies were so crisp and fresh. It is so rare to find veggies this crunchy and plentiful in a dish like this. I will definitely be ordering from here again!

The food tastes good. Nothing to pin point or complain about.
The restaurant owner puts allot of efforts to provide good hospitality. He seemed honest about the food (about one of appetizer being not cooked completely in-house. ). We liked the friendly environment.
A few things we noticed,
1. Sizes of the plates (smaller than average sized plates, maybe I am too peaky)
2. Owners let’s the puppy in the restaurant. Some guests were enjoying the company of the play full puppy. My friend who’s not so comfortable with dogs was a bit afraid. Again, it shouldn’t bother most people, but thought to put it over here.
Overall, we liked the food and the service provided. Definitely will go again.

I must say I am quite thrilled that my dear sister Carrie took me to Cafe Ayla. I know I've been to a great place when I think about the food for hours into the evening. So looking forward to going there again and again. I highly recommend Cafe Ayla to all my friends. Besides the great food this place was very inviting. Christian a fine young man was attentive and appreciative. I love the vegetarian pop stickers.

If you’re looking for “down home” cooking, look no further. Ms. Frances doesn’t play any games when it comes to her food. My wife and I had flounder and turkey wings platters and they were HEFTY! I couldn’t pick up the turkey wings because the meat just fell off the bone. It was my first time trying this place and I noticed that Ms. Frances had a no nonsense kinda energy that reminded me of my big mama down south. Once I spoke to her, I could tell she had a heart as big as the moon. She said she’s been there for 26 years and I asked how come she still cares so much about the quality of her food; her response melted me… she said each day she opens up the restaurant still feels like the first day so she wants everything to be perfect. May she continue to be blessed as she blesses us with delicious soul food ♥️
One thing I've learned from going to Debreauxs (Ms.Frances) is that Soul Food is not fast Food..The food is freshly prepared and delicious...most importantly Ms. Frances is not just the owner..waitress and cook...she will tell you like it is and hug and kiss you before you leave...I'm a lifetime customer. You want good food...Motherly Love..and solid advice ..I strongly advise that you stop by.
That Mac n cheese, boy let me tell you. Gooey cheesy goodness. The lady that served me had such good energy. When I was eating she made sure everything was all good. Can’t wait to go back!
Pros: Very good soul food. Honestly, this was some of the best soul food I’ve had in a while. I ordered the turkey wings platter with Mac and Cheese with Cabbage. Everything was finger licking good. The portions are generous! I appreciate the amounts she gave. I had some left over for the next day.
Cons: Just for transparency. The wait is long. I ordered 2 hours in advance. It wasn’t an issue for me since I planned it out that way. So order ahead.

If you are looking for real southern soul food, comfort food that will sooth your soul this is your place. I've been coming to Debreaux's for over 20 plus years. I don't mind waiting, I'm never disappointed with my food, platters are hefty fresh and made to order, like I'm in my grandmother's kitchen. "Real food isnt fast food" as stated on the owners indoor sign. I respect and appreciate, the fact that my food is not being rushed and always right. In my opinion this soul food place is the best in the city of Philadelphia.
I wish I could say how good the food was, but I never had it. I placed an order over the phone and she explained the wait would be a hour. When I arrived a hour later my food wasn’t ready, she was cooking, taking orders, bagging food etc, running a whole restaurant by herself. When she asked for my name she said it will be done soon. So I waited another hour, after waiting another hour I asked about my food and she didn’t even have my order I had to order all over again. After waiting another hour(3 hours in) I left and went somewhere else.

Amazing sunday supper special! Great cocktails! We had the mook mule, and it was sooo tasty. The food was great from start to finish. The servers were on top of every course. I would highly recommend and I'm definitely going back! I didn't care too much for the banana bread/cake thing at the end. One would think a Saturday night would cause a place like The Fat Ham to be busy, but I was the only one there when I walked in at 10:25PM. I know I know.. What a jerk for going to a place and ordering food so late. That time kind of deserves a response like that, but it's not like it was 10:45PM or something, and to be fair, I asked if I should even sit down because I've worked at a restaurant before and I know it is a pain for that one person to come in so late, kind of late. I was creating the space for honesty. He said to have a seat. I should have turned away when I had the chance. I felt like everything I was eating was the left overs from the day. Which, again, I don't mind that, like I mentioned, I've worked at a restaurant before. But what gets me is for a place claiming to be Southern, there was not an ounce of southern hospitality during my whole time there, what I mean is the service was poor, dry and non-exist. If you guys didn't want me there you should have just said so actively when I asked if I should take a seat rather than locking up the chairs outside and all the rest you when when you close down a restaurant I wanted to sit out there with a drink too. It was just awkward and I wish I didn't go there, which is not how you are suppose to feel when leaving a restaurant. And...I live in the south and I didn't get "Southern" food, but this critique is more about the service than its food.
My son and I saw Kevin Spraga win Top Chef. His second restaurant will not disappoint. The food is fabulous. My son said the Hot Chicken was the best chicken he ever had. Everything is delicious!
Fried carb overload!!! But it was phenomenal! A quarter chicken fried with a wonderfully crunchy coating and then dredged in a hot concoction, help me, oh it was so good. Well, this tasty viddle was placed atop a slice of homemade white bread that had a ranch dressing covered with pickles. When the bar tender said white bread, I cringed. But, since it home made, it wasn't processed in a bakery, so I felt a smidge better. Eaten together, the bread, ranch, pickle and crunch were enough to bring on the food dance and make you hum, mmm mmm mmmm.
Okay, I'm almost done...ordered another tasty bourbon sassafrass thingey cause the fire from the chicken was intoxicattingly hot.
Dessert was a sliver of buttermilk cheese cake served with fragrant blackberries. The venue is cozy and the dishes are mismatched or slices of logs.

It is topped with cabbage, pickles, their chipotle sauce, and you can add a slice of American cheese, that I did. The quality of this place really was demonstrated in every bite. The waffle fries were seasoned and accompanied by a side of their chipotle sauce that we had to ask for more of, because the simple 2 ounce soufflé was definitely not enough. And to wash away the delicious meal we ordered two bubble teas, and my biggest critique with bubble teas is that they’re usually very sweet and I have to say these were just right. We ordered to dine in, the young woman at the register brought our food and drinks over. Really simple atmosphere and system, which is perfectly suitable because the star of the show is without a doubt their menu.

It was my first time trying the place out. I ordered loaded fries and ordered pick up through their website. I gave them 4 stars because I had told them not to put pickle in my order and as I opened it, I found them in there. Luckily Im not allergic. Their packaging was cool and food was good. Loved their blend of cheese and sauce. Their portion size was also good and honestly there was more chicken than fries. I ordered medium spicy and I couldn’t taste the spice at all.
I've not had bad hot chicken yet in this city and I'm glad this place continues that streak. The maple syrup on the side is different and adds a good contrast.
Normally I would dine in but I was in a hurry. My order spent half an hour in the bag before I could get to it, was happy to find it still crispy.
Great value as well, I wish I worked near here so I could get lunch here every week.

I was on my way to Dunkin Doughnuts for a coffee. I seen Andy outside cleaning the door I asked what time they open he replied 11 and it was 11:04 I said oh so your open now he said Yes and Smiled.Upon me entering, the dining area was spotless, the menu board was very lite up and easy to see. I wasn’t sure what I wanted as this was my first time at the store. Andy was now on the register and his customer service was Superb. He answered all my questions and offered ideas to try asking what I like.
The food came out in a timely fashion.Food was fresh, the presentation was great. Everything need was in the bag as far as Sauces, condiments and napkins.
The taste of the e chicken was good and the fries were delicious.
It was a Wonderful Random choice for Lunch.
Came here last Christmas and I still think about this spot. Best chicken and waffles I’ve ever had. Workers were friendly, have to go back asap.
Ordered the chicken wrap, no cheese and extra slaw spice level hot - it came out piping hot with extra sauce to dip on the side and was the perfect level of spice - if you tend to like spicy food! There was a ton of chicken and not much lettuce in the wrap, so if you like veggies I'd get extra lettuce. Even just eating half of the wrap I was already very full, the whole wrap was more than enough food. The tortilla for the wrap could have been heated, but it was good overall.
The bubble tea was ok, wasn't expecting much since it's not exactly a bubble tea specialty restaurant. The boba was pretty hard but having a cold sweet drink helped balance out the hot and spicy chicken. Definitely quantity over quality. Next time I'd probably get a soda or slushy instead.
There's a self order kiosk if you want to avoid speaking to anyone or a person at the register to take orders if you're paying with cash.
In total for the bubble tea and wrap it was just under $20 after taxes.
Had takeout here for a quick bite on a lazy weeknight. Prices are great and sandwhich and fries are both pretty good. I’ll be back again but I think I’ll have to try one of the smaller chicken sandwiches because the one I got was huge. Excellent service.

I ordered gyro-spiced prime rib sandwich with tater tots, and my pal ordered their chicken sandwich. Mine was a perfect prime rib that I felt did not exactly work as a sandwich. My pal's sandwich was very nice. The chicken breading was delightful, but the chicken underneath it is was so soft that it made you wonder what chemical-laden witch brew it had been marinated in. I would come back to try their lamb meat balls. But the signature chicken sandwich makes me very concerned about the way it is brought to such an exceptional softness.
And I would like to say a word about the crew at this place. They are candid, friendly, excellent people. I enjoyed their company on our visit.

~ I decided to go to Samwich, which is sandwiched in between Catherine & 6th St, per a friends recommendation. My mouth started to water as my friend was describing the scrumptiousness of the country chicken sandwich & massive tots, at this point it became a necessity to visit Samwich.
First Impressions: You can see the salmon colored paint from afar, & the wooden tables/chairs (pictured); it gave me a sense of welcoming. Upon entrance it was smaller than I expected, but you know what they say, "good things come in small packages." Greeted by the lovely hostess, my eye was caught by the chalkboard food selections they had, which were very unique. I became giddy like a little child on Christmas morning while reading through each item.
I ended up ordering the recommended country chicken sandwich & tots(pictures say a thousand words therefore I will not describe). You could tell the ingredients were quality & homemade. I paired the meal with the grapefruit "GuS" soda which danced on my taste buds as the fizz & grapefruit flavors intertwined for a refreshing drank.
Recommendations: It was a lackadaisical day so I didn't mind the 20+ minute wait with no one else there, although waiting that long did make the bun soggy..no one likes their buns soggy.. I expected to bite into the chicken sandwich with some crispiness, it was lacking both on the bacon & chicken cutlet, luckily the taste outweighed the soggy construction of the sandwich. Now for the tots...No offense, but these tots were packed like Mexicans in a van... by far best quality tots I ever had (could use a little bit more seasonings though)

After reading the reviews I got the fried chicken sandwich and tater tots. The sandwich was just OK, nothing special, fresh bun, small piece of chicken and I found it way overpriced, specially considering that by default it comes with a very sad side of popcorn. The tatter tots were not bad but nothing special either. Some people next to me ordered the Cuban with fries. They didn't seem very happy with the fries but the Cuban looked very appetizing.
Food wasn’t worth the price. The cashier was helping wrap the sandwiches without gloves and her hair was all on top of the food. My cubano was alright... I’ve had better for cheaper. The hot chicken sandwich didn’t even have hot sauce on it and it was SO greasy it went through the bun, wrapper and bag. Only thing worth 2 stars was the fries and the cook seemed super nice.
Creative sandwiches, salads and hot dogs live up to the hype but at a premium price. Best of Philly fried chicken sandwich is fantastic. House made sauces, sides, & bacon. Try the tater tots - they are $2 additional, but you have not had them like this...

Everything is amazing. Best Cubano in the city. Side salads are bomb. Mac and cheese is gluttonous and worth it. I bring out of owners here to show off Philly. Do it.
My food was hot and very tasy, service was great at both locations. Their Cubano melt is to die for and the popcorn is a must.

Was excited to try the chicken sandwich from Shaq’s restaurant. I checked out the menu on the website and was disappointed that this location offers only a fraction of the menu. The Shaq Attack sandwich I ordered was fairly average tasting, the first bite had an odd taste but the rest thankfully was edible. The fries were a bit of a letdown. They needed to be cooked longer to get crispier, in my opinion. Wouldn’t return as there are better options for a good chicken sandwich.
I was hoping for something better for the price I paid for what I received. I suppose it's because it's under the Comcast Center and they anticipate that businesspeople would come and buy the food with the inflated prices for lunch. The case of Supply and demand. The fries and had a distinct shape and the chicken was just okay. They're called "Big Chicken", however, the chicken just eh, nothing too special.
Overpriced Slop, legitimately $10 just for a box of chicken and nothing else, the drinks bottles were $4 when I could go right outside to Wawa get two drinks bottles for the same price. Food wasn’t all that, most of the chicken didn’t have chicken, it was just bread, $10 let me remind you for only this, this is the definition of overpriced fast food, don’t eat here unless if you are one of the rich comcast employees or something. Not for a quick bite for college students.
Chicken had basically no taste and the sauce did not save it at all. The fries were alright. Tons of pickles which was cool but not what makes a chicken sandwich.
Adding a soda brought the price above $18 and that price point put this meal at 2 stars.
For the price and quality it’s not worth it. I spent $18 on a chicken sandwich, fries, and a drink. I wouldn’t even call them fries. They’re so skinny and hardly any potato to it. It’s almost a chip! 😂 Won’t be spending my hard earned money here. The staff was good though.
I tried the Big Chicken spicy chicken sandwich from here. It was delicious and just spicy enough. It was perfectly crispy and it filled me up. I would definitely go back here. Great value and great service as well.
O!M!G! I got the Uncle Jerome sandwich and fries!! 2 huge slices of tender, juicy fried chicken breast with spicy seasoning!! It was So good! And lots of fries!! This is what a spicy fried chicken sandwich is supposed to be!! And the young girl at the register was so sweet!! Going back again and again!
