Barbecue restaurant
Pimento Jamaican Kitchen & Rum Bar is a vibrant spot in Minneapolis that offers traditional Jamaican cuisine such as jerk chicken and braised oxtail. The restaurant is the result of a collaboration between a Jewish rapper and a Jamaican business executive, featuring counter-service Jamaican street food on one side and a rum bar on the other. It's known for its delicious jerk chicken, coconut rice, and sweet plantains paired with Red Stripe beer.
I came on the rhythm and floetry night. I enjoyed myself the drinks were good but the food is better. It was definitely dope vibes. Warm and welcoming. Plus it’s ran by a legend herself you can’t go wrong checking this spot out. #youfoundme 💜👑🙏🏽💪🏽🤞🏽

Ordered as a group meals with different options. Others don’t eat pork and others are vegan. Meals were all mixed up. Boxes were not properly labeled. I called them to see if we can do a video so they could identify what is what, the guy I spoke to hang up on me. In addition to that, other meals were missing like the coconut curry rice and beans and the wings a friend ordered. Maybe in person service is better but this is a horrible experience! The DoorDash person who delivered the meals was super nice

Pimento Jamaica N Kitchen & Bar offers a vibrant and inviting atmosphere that captures the essence of Caribbean culture. The decor features bright colors and Jamaican-inspired accents, creating a lively yet cozy setting perfect for casual gatherings or celebrations. The ambiance is complemented by friendly staff who are welcoming and eager to share their passion for authentic Jamaican cuisine, making guests feel right at home. The restaurant’s menu showcases a variety of flavorful dishes rooted in traditional Jamaican flavors, including jerk chicken, oxtail stew, curried goat, and seafood options. The ingredients are fresh, and the spices are well-balanced, delivering an authentic taste experience. Portions are generous, making it a great spot for hearty meals that provide good value. Vegetarians can also find satisfying options, adding to the restaurant’s appeal for diverse dietary preferences. Additionally, after-hours music creates a lively vibe that encourages guests to relax and enjoy the evening, enhancing the overall experience. While the food is delicious and the atmosphere lively, some customers have noted that the service can be a bit slow, especially during busy times. However, the warm ambiance, flavorful dishes, and after-hours music help make up for the wait. Overall, Pimento Jamaica N Kitchen & Bar is a great choice for those craving authentic Caribbean flavors in Minneapolis and looking to enjoy a fun, culturally rich environment despite occasional service delays.

I rarely leave reviews but I’m so beyond disappointed. I’ve been craving ox-tails for a while. My brother had a really positive experience and recommended this place. After reading reviews and seeing a few pics I figured I’d give it a try. I was in a hurry so I did a pick-up order. When I opened the box and realized I paid $28 for bones I was livid. There was no meat. The pic I’ve attached is before I took a bite. Don’t waste your money or your time here.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ve been coming to Pimento for years, and it’s hands-down one of my favorite restaurants in Minnesota. With several locations to choose from, I’ve had the joy of trying almost everything on the menu — and it’s always fresh, flavorful, and full of that authentic island soul. I highly recommend starting with the beef patties or vegetarian patties — both are perfectly flaky and packed with flavor. For mains, you can’t go wrong with the curry goat, jerk chicken, or jerk pork (if you eat pork). Every dish is seasoned to perfection, with that perfect balance of spice and warmth that keeps me coming back again and again. And don’t skip their signature sauces — they’re so good they sell them to take home! The jerk ranch in particular is phenomenal and goes with just about everything. The vibe is always welcoming, and there’s often live music in the Rum Bar that brings the island energy to life. In the summer, their back patio is the perfect spot to soak up those beautiful Minnesota days with great food, a cold drink, and friends. Generous portions, bold flavors, and a warm atmosphere — whether you’re stopping by for a quick lunch or making a night of it, Pimento never disappoints. 🌴🔥

I don’t doubt the bad reviews, but fortunately I’ve had good experiences with their food at the Nicollet Ave location. Good portion sizes, mine has always come pretty fresh, and I’ve loved the jerk chicken I’ve gotten. Maybe it depends on who makes it and who’s watching it during the day. 🤷‍♂️ but I’ve loved the food both times my wife & I have gone. I got the jerk chicken and it came with a good portion of rice, chicken, and a little coleslaw. I loved their coleslaw - its simple. I hate when it’s covered in sugary cream sauce, so I’m glad theirs is so simple and fresh. Plantains were good and the barbecue sauce we got was fire. Yes, jerk chicken is spicy. The hope is they don’t overdo the seasonings as some reviews say, but it does come spicy. Maybe more than you may think, but it’s good to me. 😁 It does run a little expensive so be prepared for that, but we’ve eaten-in at lunch time and done take-out at dinner time. Both were good from the Nicollet location.

As a prior traveller to Jamaica, I love this place! For Pimento, my friends and I are frequent flyers. The food is delicious and brings back the memories from our Jamaican travels. At night, the have music and occasionally, a live band. This is one of my favorite spots in the Twin Cities.

First time having Jamaican in Minnesota and this place is great! Limited selection but I got the jerk chicken and plantains and they were A+ and seems like more of a take out spot than sit down which was what I was looking. Staff super friendly!

Brasa Premium Rotisserie, located in Northeast Minneapolis and on Grand Avenue in St. Paul, is a casual eatery that offers slow-cooked, Creole-style comfort food with a focus on vegetarian and gluten-free options. The restaurant was conceived by James Beard Award-winning chef Alex Roberts and specializes in Latin American home-cooked meals made with locally sourced, grass-fed, free-range, and organic ingredients.
Brasa catered our wedding on 5/25/25 and I am BLOWN AWAY. We are long time fans of their food, all they way back to when my husband's grandmother would order it for family gatherings. Lots of our friends are also long time fans so we knew it would be a hit. But man was it a HIT. Everything was so delicious and even the most critical of our relatives raved. Not only that but their catering staff packaged up individual meals for my husband and me for the day after our wedding and gifted is a bottle of champagne. AND we got to do a free tasting to decide what to serve and had such a fun date night and absolutely stuffed ourselves. I cannot recommend these guys and their phenomenal food enough.
Ariel W — Google review
One of our family favorites whenever we go through Minneapolis! The food is always fantastic, authentic & fresh!!! I always go with a BOWL! I recommend the smothered chicken (it's so moist) or the pork bowl! Everytime we go I buy a hot vinegar to take home as well. Brasa would easily be a 5 star place but the recent move to QR code orders is a bit frustrating.
Lake K — Google review
We had Brasa cater our wedding and they were absolutely incredible! From start to finish, they were efficient, easy to communicate with, and so accommodating to our needs. The food was absolutely amazing—our guests couldn’t stop talking about it. On top of that, they went above and beyond by leaving us a thoughtful to-go bag with food and champagne at the end of the night. It was the perfect touch after such a special day. Highly recommend Brasa for any wedding or event!

The entire menu looks amazing! It was hard to choose! Ordered chicken chilaquiles verde with a side of yucca fries and fried plaintains. The green sauce is so incredibly good. Everything was cooked perfectly. Service was great! Attentive but not overbearing. Atmoshere was busy but not distracting or unpleasant! Absolutely will stop here anytime I am in town!!!

Hidden gem! I came here for the 1st time last week for a staff meeting. Upon arriving, everyone was extrmelely friendly. We were seated immediately and given menus to review. I ordered the rotisserie chicken with Yuca fries, Mac and cheese, and cornbread. Everything arrived very quickly. I’ve been to numerous restaurants, and the wait time here was almost non-existent. The food came out within 5 to 7 minutes of ordering. The waiter was extremely attentive and continuously returned to see how we were doing and checked in to see how everything tasted. The rotisserie chicken I ordered with the green sauce was phenomenal. The mac and cheese and everything else was exceptional. I would definitely return. I had a really great experience and the environment was very welcoming.
Shalon J — Google review
Their rice continues to be delicious. Their meat is also great. I feel the two items to improve are the sweet corn bread and coleslaw. Make sure to order a sangria
Yajaira C — Google review
Food was decent, nothing to write home about. Had vegetarian/vegan meals. Apparently the chicken was dry. The other meats in my party were good. Service was good. A friend particularly enjoyed to chocolate bar with sweet potato chips. They had a vegan dessert I wanted to try, but probably won't go back just for that. (Coconut pudding?)
Miranda — Google review
Great chicken, great pork. Acceptable plantains. Accepting that everyone has bad days, my experience with the wait staff was that they seemed somewhat annoyed that I had come there for a meal. Everything was correct, and brought to the table quickly, so mechanically the server was good. They just had a little more disdain for customers than I prefer.

My first visit was great. The two ladies working were super nice. I had to wait a bit which wasn’t a problem and their politeness made it easier to wait. My second time not so much. They were out of something I wanted which is fine but the person serving the food did not provide good service. I’m unsure if me having a quiet voice is what caused their demeanor to change or if it was something else but for that I’m not coming back.

I am visiting from Oklahoma and this food was FIRE! OMG amazing food. I like the buffet style that they serve. The staff is so nice and very attentive. A must try! I will be back
Jennifer W — Google review
This is an awesome place. The food is set up similarly to a buffet but you do not serve yourself. It reassured me that kids sticky fingers were not in it. You pay by the pound for your plate of food. Everything was really fresh and flavorful. There are posters/informational walls on the black community. would recommend.
Rebecca N — Google review
The people that helped us were extremely nice and helpful. The food is absolutely delicious and pretty fresh. We came during an odd time and still got fresh food and kind servers. My dad says this is the closest he's gotten to true southern soul food he remembers from his childhood in a very long time. We will definitely be back when we're in the neighborhood. The atmosphere was relaxed and the music choice was totally cool.

Pay per weight buffet of a variety of awesome dishes. The food and the entire place feels authentic AF ❤️ Payed about $20 for a very solid plate of food incl a Pepsi 💵 The food was great. I was so hungry I was literally shaking, but I'm quite sure I'm always capable of telling good from bad - and this was good 😋 All in all a great lunch experience 👍

The food was delicious if you like your grandmother Sunday dinner get all the family together taste. The lightening inside the dining area was a little bit dark for my liking Also the buffet was separated from the dining area and they had just gotten a new system for the cash register so you had to go to the back to ring food up Also they had one server who was serving food and they only let one person in that back area one at a time.

Nestled on the second floor of the trendy Graze Provisions food hall in North Loop, Soul Bowl is a vibrant eatery that redefines traditional soul food for a modern audience. This delightful counter-service restaurant offers an array of comforting dishes, from creamy mac and cheese to sweet candied yams and crispy fried chicken. Guests can enjoy these classics either as customizable bowls or signature plates, making it easy to create your perfect meal.
1000/10!! Maurice had amazing customer service there was minimal wait time! They recently opened a salad bar and it’s amazing!! 100% fresh, variety of toppings to put in the salad. I filled mine all the way up in the small container just for $8 + tax. The atmosphere was incredible and inviting like a safe haven. Definitely coming back!!

My friend was craving soul food, so I took her soul bowl spot I discovered a few months ago. This place is incredible the food is absolutely soul-snatching! The manager, Maurice, was amazing. He surprised us with a complimentary dessert and even added a free jerk chicken on top of our order. Everything about this restaurant was perfect. Solid 10/10. The staffs are friendly. If you’re in the neighborhood, definitely check it out.
Suhana N — Google review
I tried the Plant-Based Caribe Bowl today and absolutely loved it! 🌱🔥 The flavors were bold and just the right level of hot and spicy — exactly how I like it. The plant-based “chicken” was so well-seasoned and crispy that it tasted just like real chicken. The sweet plantains added the perfect balance to the spice and made the whole bowl feel complete. One of the best bowls I’ve had in a while — fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. If anything, I’d love a bit more protein and a little less rice next time, but overall this was a fantastic dish. Definitely coming back for it again! ⸻ Would you like me to make it shorter and more casual (perfect for a quick 1–2 line review) or keep this detailed foodie-style for people looking for specifics before ordering?
Lakshya M — Google review
We stopped by Soul Bowl and were really impressed the moment we walked in. The space has a great vibe clean, creative, and full of local pride. The "Pride of the Northside" wall, the artwork, and the "Humble Hustle" sign really give it character and make it feel like more than just another restaurant. I ordered the Crab Boil Wings with Fries, and they were full of flavor. The seasoning was on point, and the wings had that perfect mix of crisp and juicy. My wife had the Rasta Pasta, and she loved it creamy, flavorful, and loaded with toppings. I also tried the Queen B Lemonade, which was refreshing and just the right balance of sweet and tart. The staff was friendly, and the service was smooth from start to finish. You can tell this place takes pride in what they do. Between the food, the look, and the energy, Soul Bowl is definitely worth a visit. We'll be back for sure.

I was supposed to try their chicken turkey bacon fries at the Minnesota State Fair, but they were so popular they sold out so I took the $5 off coupon they gave me as collateral & finally decided to check out their new location. The Rasta Pasta & the Wings were phenomenal. Shout out to V3 for dedicating this space to a locally owned Black Business. The owners are solid people. Check em out.

I keep my eye out for Soul Food restaurants in MN and decided to try this place. Got the Caribe Bowl to go. The rice was nice. Chicken was flavorful & juicy. Plantains were a nice contrast. A bit pricey & slow but quality was pretty good. Will go again!

So good for vegan options!!! So delicious I had to force myself to take some home for leftovers. I had the Southern Hospitality(vegan) and I would highly recommend. Also added some mambo sauce which we loved in DC.
Vivian M — Google review
Had the chicken fried beef bacon and the peach cobbler donut at the fair. Used to support Soul Bowl tons when they first opened but this was so disappointing we just took the L and threw away all the food. The donut was dry and hard as hell and the peaches weren’t even that good either. The chicken fried beef bacon was literally soggy, oily batter bits with tiny bits of bacon. Nothing like this photos they’ve been posting. Disappointing and deceiving.

Breakfast restaurant
Located in downtown Minneapolis, Hen House Eatery is a sprawling cafe and full-service bar that offers classic locally sourced breakfast and lunch options. This women-owned establishment prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients to create a menu filled with specialty breakfast cocktails, baked goods like maple bacon cinnamon rolls, and housemade bars in various flavors. The all-day breakfast menu features both classic dishes and Spanish-inspired options influenced by one of the co-owners' upbringing in central Spain.
I had a fantastic experience at Hen House today! The service was absolutely excellent—friendly, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. The ambience is top-notch, And the food? Simply incredible! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Every bite tasted homemade and full of love. I genuinely loved the place and can’t wait to come back.

Went here for breakfast. The food is got was really good and unique to me. I got the banana bread french toast which come with 4 slices of French toast, banana slices, some whip cream on the side, and hot syrup. The French toast was not overall sweet but with the clusters or syrup it maybe really sweet. The banana and whip does help mellow out the sweetness. The turtle cold brew was alright. It just taste like cold brew with chocolate syrup if u drink from the bottom since all the syrup just drips to the bottom. I did take a bite of the hog heaven bk sandwhich and it was good. It was soft and flaky but tasted better with the honey mustard sauce that comes with. Try the mimosa if you love to drink in the A.M.

Stopped in for breakfast with a friend. The place was packed but the employees are super efficient and we were seated quickly. The menu has so many options to choose from. Our server made suggestion and the dishes were excellent. We were served quickly and checked in frequently. Lots of stuff in the wall to look at and read. Save room for dessert or take some to go. The desserts are amazing.

I came around 10 on Sunday morning and it happened to be a game day. Holy cow this place was packed!! I was not prepared for the amount of folks waiting outside. Luckily I was a solo dinner and got a seat right away at the bar. The server recommended Babe's Eggs Benedict (jalapeño cheddar cornbread, pork carn vith cajun hollandaise and hash browns) so that what I went with plus fresh OJ. When I got my meal he set down a bottle of local hot sauce and said it paired great with the dish. IT WAS AMAZING!! Probably the best eggs Benedict of my entire life… it was sweet, savory and spicy and hit all the taste bud receptors! The fresh OJ was also phenomenal. By the time I finished the line for a table had gone down considerably, so seems like they are really good a getting folks through quickly! 10/10!!

First off, this place deserves the stellar reviews. we got seated very quickly despite the number of people, and were given the option of eating outside or inside. despite being packed, service was quick. they brought us some waters quite quickly, asked us if we wanted any drinks. we got some rolls, which are as good as people say. however, they were definitely quite a lot bigger than I thought (photo for scale. for context I have quite large hands). for like $6.50 (I think, I forget the exact price) I was surprised. once we ordered our actual food, it came out pretty quickly (<15 minutes). again, this is impressive considering that the place was packed both inside and out. prices definitely aren't cheap, but the portions are large, the flavor is good, and there's a lot of options on the menu. overall I loved eating here, will definitely stop here again if I'm back in Minneapolis. I also ate like half of my meal before taking a picture, the portions are larger than that.

Fast and friendly downtown eatery serving breakfast all day. I had the make your own omelette where you can choose the ingredients. I went with feta cheese, mushrooms and spinach. It was delicious and beat the bland oatmeal and pastries offered at the conference I was attending. There was plenty of seating on a Thursday morning for a quick breakfast. PS If you found this review helpful, please "heart" it.

Found Hen House via Google Reviews on a business trip to downtown Minneapolis. Highly recommend! For a solo weekday breakfast, could not have done better. I sat at the bar and my coffee and food arrived within 10 minutes. Super attentive staff— she had a great recommendation to try hot honey with the biscuit and it was superb! I had the seasonal pumpkin spice latte with the Country Fried Steak breakfast. Keep up the great work!

Hen House Eatery is a popular and fun place to have breakfast. I walked from my hotel, about a mile, which I wouldn’t do again because of the questionable (unsafe) people along the way. The place is rather kitschy in good way starting with the huge hen outside. My server was pleasant and attentive despite it being very busy. I had the cheeseburger and fries which I appreciate they serve in the morning. The cheeseburger was ok, probably what to expect from a breakfast restaurant. The fries were very delicious imo. The deserts on display are unique looking and likely worth a try.

The outdoor patio is a popular spot for diners to enjoy their meals.
Immaculate vibes paired with delicious food. I’ve heard about Victor’s over the years and finally check it out, being one of the first nice Sunday mornings of the season, the wait was maybe 30+ minutes long, but well worth it. Inside and out, the atmosphere stayed in step with the vibrant cuisine, truly feeling like a trip back in time. We stuck to coffee this morning but all around us guests were sipping on refreshing and colorful looking cocktails. For brunch, I had the lechón asado (pictured here), and my buddy had the chicken and Spanish chorizo paella. They were both delicious, filling, and well worth the price point. Lastly, the service was prompt and genuine. Really enjoyed my experience and will most definitely be coming back for more!

I'm obsessed with this place. The food is insanely good and the wait staff are some of the most beautiful and capable people I've ever seen. They handle rush times so well it's like magic. And the coffee is so awesome. I love it here. PS if any review complains about wait times or the staff, you should ignore them. the restaurant is wicked small and the wait staff do their absolute best to keep things running smoothly and efficiently.

Victor’s was an outstanding brunch spot for a delicious, and nutritious home-cooked Cuban meal that will fill you up for hours. The portion sizes were generous, and the flavors were well-composed with fresh ingredients. The Cuban toast, a sourdough sandwich style bread grilled lightly in butter, was a nice way to sop up the creole sauce in the Cuban hash I enjoyed. This was an extra $1.50 add on to the entree; it wasn’t included in the entree price. We also ordered a Havana breakfast with over easy eggs on black beans with fried yuca. We also had a wild rice pancake that was decent, and a blueberry pancake. The house coffee was a wonderfully-aromatic dark roast that I could drink every morning. The service was warm and attentive. This place is small and has tight seating and limited hours. I recommend a mid day visit on a weekday for that reason. I would most definitely come back here, again and again for nourishing comfort food. Note that they do charge

Victors’s 1959 is a tiny restaurant that doesn’t look like much from the outside, but a delightful escape to Havana on the inside. The atmosphere is fun, Caribbean, and the food is Cuban comfort food in all the best ways. Try plantains, pulled pork, yuca fruit, chorizo, etc. The cafe is generally open for breakfast/brunch/lunch only.

Here is your review from a Cuban man. 11/10 all around! Maddison was our waitress and honestly all the staff there were so so kind and in such cute costumes. This is the true definition of a hole in the wall and I love it. The food was so good and authentic, I even said I felt like my grandparents were at the table with us eating. They would’ve loved this place. Thank you to the staff, chefs included and thank you for the happy memories of my family cooking. This is a must go! We will be back!

i live down the street + this place has taken so much of my money ... i figured i'd be doing them a disservice if i didn't leave a review. the staff has always been a delight to me, going above + beyond to provide quick, polite, and personable service. the food is obviously to die for and there is so much diversity on their menu, you seriously can't go wrong. outdoor seating is wonderful and while wait times can be a bit tough, the wait makes it all that much better. so much character in such a small building!!! i hope victor's continues to thrive each year bc it truly is a gem in my neighborhood. <3

Colita is a modern Mexican restaurant that offers a fusion of Tex-Oaxacan cuisine, featuring housemade moles, international BBQ dishes, and creative cocktails. The restaurant's ambiance is reminiscent of El Cielo in Medellin, with lush greenery and dramatic lighting creating an inviting atmosphere. The menu showcases beautifully plated dishes that capture the diverse flavors of Mexico, such as corn elote with chipotle mayo and Kansas City ribs with tamarind.
Sat at the bar and had the pleasure of being served by Q. He was excellent with his knowledge of the menu items and recommended an amazing selection of plates. The food was fantastic and the presentation was very vibrant and inviting to the palate. The drinks were perfectly mixed and the Argentinian lager was top notch.

Last night we celebrated an anniversary dinner at Colita. There was a bit of a snafu with the reservation and wait time, but the manager more than made up for it. He and the wait staff were so friendly and amazing. The atmosphere was relaxed yet buzzing. Impressive they were able to run things so efficiently and calmly while it was so busy. We all loved the food, it was so good! Highly recommend.

Small plates restaurant with delicious Mexican inspired dishes and a very pleasant ambiance in the outdoor patio. Probably in the top 5 best restaurants I’ve ever been to and definitely my favorite in Minnesota. My fiancée is celiac and I generally eat gluten free as well and this entire restaurant is 100% gf.

Wow! My husband (GF) and I love this place. Has been recommended by many friends and so glad we finally came. We arrived about 20 min before our reservation on a Saturday, it was packed! Plenty of street parking for free. We sat at the bar and got some drinks - me the Telenovela (amazing, I could have drank two. Definitely the mezcal smokey flavor I was hoping for). My husband got Naranjitas from the zero proof menu - amazing as well! Bartenders were awesome, equally attentive to us and knew who we were while waiting for our table to be ready. I also got the Naked Dani drink (salty foam, sweet drink with a mini duck!) and it was great! We started with the Aguachile (reco from bartenders) and both of us were salivating at how tasty. So fresh and a great starter. Also got the Smoked Caesar - liking the plate good. We are caesar snobs and this was at the top of the list. My husband ordered the Tempura Fried Shrimp Tacos (since he's GF and never gets tempura, he was super excited) and they were great - just enough of the shrimp flavor, sauce and cabbage - exactly what he was expecting. I got the pork chilorio tacos and they were so saucy, deep and yet balanced with the cucumber avo salsa. So yummy! Had to get the Elote as a side (again elote snobs) and my husband said he thinks that was the best thing he's ever eaten. We didnt take a picture of the churros - ate them too fast. Hubby loved them as well - so good with some ice cream on the side. I ordered an espresso martini with tequila (with salt on the edge) and it was perfect. Husband got a double espresso with lemon twist - he was pleased. Overall a great experience. Service stood out as a plus with our server being very attentive, on pace with us for service, cleaning up as we went. Loud, exciting environment. Probably difficult to be on a date and have a serious convo, more for fun and all about the food experience. About $200 for the two of us, with a little elote to take home.

Went here last night on a whim, and it was absolutely amazing. We sat at the bar and they made us amazing mocktails, we started with the tuna, tostada and yellowtail, and then moved our way to the Barbacoa tacos and bean and cheese tostada. Of course we had to finish with the churro, would not skip this part! As a person with a gluten allergy, this restaurant was amazing for both people with an allergy or not.
Kaitlyn S — Google review
Colita hits when it hits and misses when it misses. Their Mexican food is a little off the mark for the price, but the general Mexican inspired dishes are just okay. Standouts included the churros and the pork chop. The churros are delightfully crispy paired well with a salted Carmel sauce. The pork chop is one of the juiciest pieces of pork I have ever had and pairs well with the spicy sauce. For the misses, we did not like the tuna tostada, tlayuda, or pork chilorio tacos. I liked parts of their dishes, but the masa used in this restaurant is not as thick or crispy as I would like for a place that grinds their own corn. The tuna and pork are both really tasty individually, but the corn distracts. The tlayuda is basically a corn dish. I think if you’ve been to Oaxaca, this food will be a bit disappointing on the Mexican front. The drinks are super fun though! A bubbly duck drink! Couldn’t imagine a more creative drink.

Loved sitting on the outside patio. Green flowing plants all over. It was our anniversary so the bar sent over complimentary drinks. The chicken Tinga was my favorite. Spicy and fresh. The shrimp taco was also very good. I was not a big fan of the guacamole. Too smooth for me. But the chips were interesting. The bar was fun to sit at. Busy, and a great bartender who tried to talk us into dining at the bar. He was funny. This is a more progressive Mexican restaurant with a younger crowd. Would dinner here again.
Laura U — Google review
A Moonlit Night at Colita I have a bit of history with Colita, and one memory still stands out vividly when I was at the bar. I remember watching the bartenders at work, shaking up drinks with such energy and style. It was one of those nights where you end up chatting with strangers and bartenders alike, and it all feels easy and connected. That moment really captured what I love about Colita — it’s not just the food, it’s the atmosphere. Fast forward two years, and I finally made it back. The patio has expanded since then, and it feels like a completely new experience compared to their warm, well-lit dining room inside. On this particular October night, the air was mild, the moonlight soft, and for a moment, I felt like I was somewhere in Mexico — relaxed, lively, and full of flavor. I started with a drink called the “Naked Dani.” It was a foamy, flavorful twist on a margarita, light but bold in taste. Though honestly, I couldn’t help thinking it should’ve been called “Naked Antonio” — it just sounds sexier and feels more in tune with Colita’s playful vibe. For food, I went with the Octopus Al Pastor — smashed potatoes, smoked paprika, serrano, cilantro, and micro shiso. Octopus can sometimes be tough, but this one was tender and perfectly cooked. I did wish for a touch more seasoning, but the dish was still enjoyable and beautifully presented. Then came the Chicken Liver Memelita with pickled pear, shiso, hibiscus, and preserved blackberries. I’ll admit — I’m very particular about pâté. I expected something rich and velvety, but this version was more like a mousse — airy, slightly sweet, and unexpected. It wasn’t bad, just not quite what I was anticipating. I also ordered the Crispy Masa Chips with guacamole, hummus, peanuts, and guajillo salsa. To call them “chips” doesn’t quite do them justice — they were thick, crunchy, and full of texture. Delicious, though maybe a bit pricey for what you get. Still, Colita never fails to deliver an experience. The space buzzes with energy, the food pushes creative boundaries, and the drinks always surprise you. It’s one of those places where you go not just to eat, but to feel something — a bit of adventure, a touch of nostalgia, and a reminder of how fun dining can be.

I'm a lover of all Asian food and this is a hidden gem! The service is ALWAYS so inviting and the food is 🔥!!! The fried chicken egg rolls are always so so good, the fresh spring rolls are a hit and this time I went with the papaya salad and let me tell you... One of the best I've had!! We also stepped out and tried the chicken Wings and they were crunchy and delicious! The restaurant is a decent size, clean with a few design elements. Give them a try your taste buds will thank you!!

This is a really good Thai restaurant. They have an extensive menu with alcohol drinks and much to choose from on their menu .You get very large portions of food and the quality is exceptional! I have been going there for years & you have so many choices. The last time I went to this restaurant,I had stir fry with tofu and assorted vegetables it was just delicious. This establishment is extremely clean and the staff helps you order, what you like. There is free parking and the restroom is very clean. Before I would come here,I would check their online menu.Since there are so many choices. This gives the opportunity to check the many items they have and saves you some time. They offer different spices levels from mild to hot and that is your choice. For a lovely Thai meal, try to get to this establishment. It's one of the finer Thai restaurants in the Twin Cities, Enjoy!!

Went in for dinner on a Saturday and didnt realize it was right before a soccer game, so the place was packed and there was a little bit of a wait for a table. Once the soccer fans left they were able to seat us and get our orders quickly. Our waiter was extremely apologetic and the food came out fast. They have a large menu I had a hard time choosing what to order. The pad eggplant is fantastic, such a rich sauce and the eggplant is cooked perfectly. My boyfriend got the duck special, it was so crispy and savory. As an avid thai food fanatic, this place is easily a 10/10 and I will be back very soon to try other dishes!

I have been waiting to go here for a while and didn't have the opportunity. This restaurant is fantastic to say the least. The food quality is excellent and their specialty menu is outright amazing. The quality of the food is excellent, very fresh and balanced. The staff were wonderful when we accidentally spilled the bubble tea drink. The food came out promptly and the server checked in on us often enough through the meal. The food presentation was delightful and made our mouths drool 🤤, how could you not? Spice levels were great. There's also free parking in the rear.

Thai spicy papaya was legit but too hot for me so be warned. Didn’t like their beef noodle soup, way too sweet. Egg rolls were fine, and a good deal at its price. Might try again.

Centro is a vibrant Mexican restaurant located on Quincy Street in Northeast Minneapolis. The industrial-chic interior sets the stage for an array of Mexican bites and draft cocktails, including stiff margs and barrel-aged tequila negronis. Chef Jose Alarcon's menu features six varieties of tacos, salads, shrimp ceviche, mole cupcakes, and family-style options like enchiladas and build-your-own taco kits. The restaurant also offers catering services and space for special events.
Absolutely delicious, the variety of authentic dishes were exploding with flavors. Excited to go back and try something different. Pineapple queso is definitely something to try if you haven't already.

I've visited Centro a handful of times for lunch and it's a nice spot for drinks and a bite! Their cocktails are delicious—I really like their guava margarita—and they have a great overall selection. The decor and atmosphere are also very pleasant. Although you order your food and drinks through their app on your phone, the staff we interacted with were still nice and friendly. All this said, their food can be a little hit-or-miss. In the past I've enjoyed their carnitas tacos, but I was not a huge fan of the birria crunch I tried on my most recent visit. For me the flavors were surprisingly a bit lacking and the wrap seemed over-full of meat and cheese. However, I did like their salsa verde and thought their guacamole was pretty decent. Plus, the tortilla chips we ordered came out warm which is always nice. Overall, I definitely think Centro is a good stop if you're in the area, especially for groups! I'd probably stick with their tacos if ordering an entree, but their drinks are great so it's a fun place to catch up with friends for a lunch or on a night out.

Seating outside was nice and comfy. There was a QR code at the table to scan in order to review the menu and order your food. We Sat for a while before someone actually stopped by to greet us and bring us some water. Food was good and hit the spot for a late night snack.

This place is a complete joke!!! Instead of being taken care of by a waiter you have to scan a QR code and work with a real low tech menu on your phone. You have to also place your order on the phone. It’s like having ten minutes of homework to do just to order food. After finally getting the order placed we sat for another 20 minutes only for an unapologetic waiter to come to the table to ask if we had placed an order. We explained numerous times what we had ordered and after another 15 minutes were served our food one item at a time. The food was much better than the service. Then six hours after leaving the restaurant and already well into another state we get a call that our order is ready!

Having delicious and fun food for our wedding was one of our top priorities - and we are so happy we went with Centro to cater! Everything was as good as it is in the restaurant, including tacos made fresh at the venue! The staff was incredibly helpful both in planning and day of. We were also so happy that they included one of our fav tacos even though it wasn't on their catering menu anymore. Their staff also worked seemlessly with our venue, making dinner totally stress-free! Truly we couldn't have imagined a better dinner for our wedding!

Nestled in the heart of Whittier, Harry Singh's Original Caribbean Restaurant is a vibrant gem that brings the flavors of the islands to Minneapolis. This colorful diner is adorned with island memorabilia, creating a charming atmosphere that feels like stepping into a time capsule. Known for its homestyle Caribbean cooking, this cozy spot serves up hearty dishes packed with protein and features delightful specialties from the West Indies.
This is the real deal! The experience was amazing. Tried the famous jerk chicken. Was advised to order as is (and no extra spice) and to not try to be a hero. Well, that was excellent advice because it was HOT! It was a real journey from my plate to you know where. I loved it even though I'm not used to eating spicy foods. The owner served us and told us about his food made from scratch. I will never forget this day. Thank you Mr. Singh! So many diverse people came into the restaurant and placed phone orders while we were eating. It was obvious that we were in the company of greatness.
Cindy C — Google review
I found this place by accident-- I got turned around looking for a different restaurant, but didn't have too much time left on my lunch break to go exploring, plus I had never tried Caribbean cuisine before, so I took a chance. It's a bit small and has hole-in-the-wall kind of vibes, but the owner was super friendly. And his recommendation of the jerked chicken was spot on! The container he gave me was basically overflowing with spicy, tender, juicy goodness. It lasted me two meals, there was so much. I'm a glutton for punishment, so next time I go I'll probably ask for the hot hot spice level, but whatever level of heat he made it at this time was still enough to make my nose run.

I’ve grown to know Harry personally over the passed couple years. He is from Trinidad. I go there often. I especially love the goat roti and the oxtail. Hope you like spicy food! He makes and sells his own signature scorpion sauce.

I feel that everyone should visit Harry Singhs in Minneapolis if they ever get the chance. He's arguably the best Caribbean cook in the state, an amazing human being, AND he is a one man operation. Cook, call taker, server, cleaner, etc. Ive been coming here for 15 years and plan on going until he retires. Try the jerk roti and beef patties. Go give em some love, yall!!! Atmosphere - it's a time capsule, but that's half the charm of his business Food - you can't go wrong; try the roti for sure!! Price - affordable ($5-15 per dish) PS - Don't forget to take home a bottle of his homemade, original signature sauce. It definitely lives up to its label~ Oh God - It's Hot!

Anteres N — Google review
I've been a customer of Harry's since 1986 when he was on Central Avenue and have never been disappointed. I almost always order the Curry Potato and Chickpea Roti Dahlpourie. It is so good that I haven't ventured too far from that one, especially when paired with the Dhal Split peas and Red Beans. The Dhal mitigates the heat from the most excellent hot sauce that Harry makes from Scorpion chiles imported fresh from Trinidad. For those who complain about the wait, rest assured that it is well worth it. Harry operates on Island Time, so settle in and enjoy.

With nearly six decades of combined cooking expertise and a treasure trove of family recipes, this fast-casual eatery specializes in mouthwatering smoked barbecue. I work here at the Midtown global market. And I’m telling y’all this place has the best brisket I’ve ever had in my life! I mean slap yo mama good lol. The brisket chili is off the chain, the catfish is the bomb, and everything goes really well with every side you can choose. If you’re ever in the Midtown global market, make sure you visit this place. And did I mention they also sell smoked meats by the pound, serve meals to feed entire families and lunch specials! You won’t be disappointed !!!

Soul to Soul Smokehouse is located inside the Global Market. You can’t see it from the street, so just park and head inside. I had the ribs. My daughter had the pork sandwich. It wasn’t pulled pork, so she found it kind of odd. Still good, just odd. I had the ribs, beans, and collard greens. Everything was really good. The ribs don’t seem to have much of a rub on them. If you like a nice crust on your ribs, these aren’t that. That said, the ribs were falling off the bone. Exactly how they should be. Great tasting. Plenty of meat. Very delicious. The beans were really good also. I couldn’t figure out what meat was in the beans. Ground sausage? It was different and tasted really good. The greens were spicy. I liked those also. Not mushy at all. Very good. We only had the mild sauce which had a great taste to it. Tangy. A very good compliment to the food. I asked for both the mild and the spicy, I guess they forgot. You’ll have to try the spicy and evaluate on your own. Give Soul to Soul smokehouse a try. I’ll certainly be back when I’m down that way.

I had a half slab of ribs which comes with two sides I chose the collard greens and mac & cheese. I also ordered a side of beans, and banana pudding. My favorite things in order were 1. ribs 2. banana pudding 3. beans 4. collard greens 5. Mac & cheese The collard greens were just slightly too salty, and the Mac & cheese was almost too mushy (but not quite, definitely not gonna be able to reheat it later though). The ribs were tender, the sauce was great, the banana pudding was absolutely delicious, I loved that there were a couple of different types of beans in the side of beans and they were also sweet and delicious. The staff was super friendly and I really enjoyed the over all experience. I would go again for sure.

What we ordered: pulled pork sandwich with smoked Mac and cheese. Wife ordered corn on the cob and seasoned fries. How good was it: Pork was fall off the bone tender and bun was crisp and buttered to perfection. The mild BBQ sauce was not needed because the meat was so tender but added a nice sweet flavor to the sandwich. The corn was phenomenal and fries delicious. Never have had better corn then here! Timely service? Food was ready in 15 minutes from time of order despite being during busy lunch hour.
Nate K — Google review
Story - This restaurant was started by two brothers who learned how to cook from their mother. Staff - Friendly and helpful. The register lady took a minute to explain the sauces to me. I removed one star due to a front line employee on his phone while wearing serving gloves. It did take a while for the food to come out but there was a large order right before I arrived (1pm). Food Brisket sandwich - The bun was buttery, toasted, and soft. The brisket was tender and lightly seasoned with a perfect amount of cap. It seemed a bit pricey for the amount but the quality was worth it. There are limited BBQ options in Minneapolis so I would expect to pay slightly more for this kind of meal. It was a bit dry for my liking but very tasty. Coleslaw - I’m not much in coleslaw but I thought this was creamy and mild. Sauce - The mild sauce flavor was warm, sweet, and not overpowering. The hot ($0.75 extra) was hotter than I expected and was not as sweet. Overall the food was tasty and the experience was a good one. Without a doubt the best BBQ brisket I have had in Minneapolis.

Soul to Soul Smokehouse is INCREDIBLE! Don’t show up unless you’ve got a monster appetite; the portions are HUGE! Pictured is the smoked turkey with gravy, the smoked mac and cheese, and the smokehouse beans. The food was prepped quickly and came out piping hot! The turkey has outstanding flavor- kissed by the smoke! The Mac and cheese was fair, but the beans had ground beef inside and was lip-smacking good! What a fantastic value and easily one of my favorite barbecue joints in the entire U.S. If you’ve never been, GO! If you’ve been, get back, Jack!

Had a massive order for the family and all of it was well received. Possibly the best fried chicken I’ve had in Minnesota. Mac and cheese, black eyed peas and fried shrimp were all superb. This was my first visit. Many more visits to come! Strongly recommend as a soul food option in a great central location at the Midtown Global Market.

When we walked around the global market, we didn’t think of it at first, but when we got our food (which was a lot for what we paid) about 20 min after 12, the cashier checked to see if it was ok to get our lunch specials, we finally get our food after 10-20 min, and it was. Amazing, the ribs were fall-off-the-bone and the fry’s aren’t normally frozen generic brand, but homemade, the corn was also to die for. I Absolutely recommend if you love to eat something barbecue.

Ray J's American Grill is a delightful local spot that truly elevates the chicken wing experience in Minneapolis. While many places stick to classic buffalo flavors, Ray J's offers an exciting array of options like extra hot habanero, blackened dry-rub, and even sriracha peanut butter wings. This establishment goes beyond just wings; it’s a vibrant sports restaurant where you can enjoy a variety of dishes including burgers, seafood, sandwiches, and more.
I order the garlic Parmesan wings and cheeseburger sliders (which they sent a cheeseburger) and it was amazing. I didn’t call to complain about the mishap on the sliders because everything was amazing. They give you REAL wings. No wing cut in half and call it two wings. these wings absolutely slap. got half smoky ranch, half nutty. both were perfect and the ranch dipping sauce couldn’t be better. as a big wing fan, would totally come back!

Great spot for lunch. Prices are fair, the food was great, and service was spot on. The free parking lot behind the restaurant is nice. Great breakfast burger and fries.

Wings are really big, and good! The staff was very nice and we had a good time there for the Super Bowl.

Went here for lunch on a Saturday and it was not busy at all. Our server was wonderful and brought us samples of the sauces when we couldn’t decide. We got the wings and the artichoke dip which were both FANTASTIC. My only complaint is that the staff in the kitchen were playing their music very loud, which was a little disturbing, since the TVs in the restaurant were also on.

This is my favorite sports bar in the city with the best food!! The whole staff is incredible. Wyatt is fantastic, Sophie and John the bartenders are incredible. As far as food oh man are you in for a treat with big full wings the Bomba wings with jalapeño ranch is so good, the Cajun pasta is also to die for.
Daniel L — Google review
Classic bar food. The garlic burger with waffle fries hit the spot after a run. I would get this again. We got a full order of wings and were able to get half Nutty Rooster and half Asian Sesame wings. The Asian sesame was extremely saucy. The nutty rooster definitely tasted better than the Asian ones. Lots of people in there on a Thursday night watching sports on the big tvs. Overall a pretty good experience!

Francis Burger Joint, located in Northeast Minneapolis, has gained a loyal following for its mouthwatering plant-based burgers and phenomenal vegan fried chicken sandwiches. The menu features four unique vegan chicken sandwiches, including the MN spicy chicken sandwich with Nashville hot mayo, coleslaw, and jalapenos, as well as the Hunny Dijon and Chicken Bacon Ranch Sandwich. Additionally, lucky patrons may catch a special brunch offering that layers fried chicken in freshly made Belgian waffles.
8/30/2025 My boyfriend and I ate here for the first time tonight. 3 different employees checked in on us, one being the manager, and they were all very kind and very professional. The manager hung out for a minute and told us the story on the place which is really cool. We got 3 food items; Garlic Girl, and BBQ Chicken, and chopped fries. We got 2 milkshakes; chocolate and lavender. Both came with whipping cream and a cherry. The food tasted sinful. It was so, so extremely good. I hardly had to use ketchup because it was so good. The food was served incredibly promptly and the portions exceeded my expectations. We had to get a to-go box. The environment was very warm and welcoming and also clean, including the bathrooms. I am so happy we went here tonight!!! We will be back!

This place knocked my socks off!! I’ve been to vegan restaurants from NYC to L.A. and this place ranks with the BEST!! Flavors and textures were outstanding! Seitan bacon can sometimes be meh but this was perfect. We came in for brunch and are seriously considering coming back for dinner. Just wow.🤩

We took a vegan sibling out for lunch. I was skeptical at first, but there were so many choices. Our server was very helpful and answered our questions. This place by far has the best fries ever!!! The Garlic Girl and the Chai shake were drool worthy and delicious. The atmosphere was very chill and relaxed. Everything was great and it definitely opens your eyes to vegan and plant based foods!! If you want a great plant based burger and amazing fries, this is the spot to go!!

I am not vegan but this is probably the best vegan “chicken” sandwich I’ve tried. The seasoning was great and the texture of the “chicken” was pretty convincing as well. Fries were crispy and fresh. Service was outstanding! I also appreciate that this is a no tipping establishment (cost is built into the menu price). Would definitely return!

Happy hour visit with an old friend at the bar is awesome! We were the first, maybe the only, 2 people in the joint at 4:15pm on a Thursday. Seemed like no one knew my name and no one's glad I came. Finally! A friendly bar tender showed up. Paper plane cocktail goes great with a Pittsburgh salad (salad with fries on top).

I went here for a birthday brunch with friends. There was plenty of room for our large group. They have a no tipping payment system so that was straightforward. The food was great! I had a juicy Lucy with a black bean patty. It was very tasty! The fries were seasoned nicely. I also ordered a pickle plate which featured many pickled vegetables and fruit. I also got a cup of ice cream. I'd go back!
Andrea O — Google review
Was searching for burger locations when I was in that part of town and stumbled across this place. Did not realize that the food was all vegan, every single item on the menu. Except the Diet Coke. Just ordered a hamburger with fries and a drink and the hamburger definitely tasted different. Probably because I’ve never had a vegan burger. So i’d take my food review with a grain of salt. Food aside, the atmosphere is very welcoming and the server I had (Kay, I believe) was the highlight of my day in the city. Shared many laughs and she honestly made the experience worthwhile even if i had better burgers elsewhere. The ice cream cone was also very good. Never had coconut milk ice cream and i can say it’s worth trying especially considering the fact i have a dairy intolerance. Would recommend this place to people wanting to try new things and/or vegans.

Absolutely the best vegan burger I've ever had!! I went for brunch while visiting from out of town and am so glad I did. Amazing service, awesome vibes & atmosphere, great music & delicious food. I had the jalapeno popper special & it was so good! Thank you for such a great experience!

Soul food restaurant
Wendy's House of Soul, Inc. is a popular eatery located in north Minneapolis that has gained national attention for its unique offerings. Featured on the Cooking Channel's Food Paradise, this restaurant is known for its special Soulrolls - gluten-free egg roll wraps filled with delicious ingredients like greens, mac and cheese, and taco fixings.
We had a great meal at Wendy’s House of Soul - loved the Soul Rolls! The crispy outside was so yummy! They’re like a larger egg roll but not the traditional fillings you think of. There’s a ton of options for you to pick what your Soul Rolls has in it. We got the Taco & Cheeseburger Soul Rolls. Employees were VERY kind and friendly - can’t wait to go back! The market that this restaurant is in was also very nice. Great selection of healthy foods. Try the banana water if you haven’t yet!

I struggled to find Wendy's, but it's the Deli counter inside North Market. There is some small signage to the left as you approach the register. I got the snack pack with a Nanny soul roll and a lemonade. The dry rub wings and lemonade were amazing. The soul roll was good, and fries were OK. There are 2 tables to dine in but my meal was packaged to go. Service was great, it took about 10 minutes to prep, so if you're in a hurry, order online ahead of time. I don't love being asked to tip 15-25% just for having my food made but do like to support small businesses. This type of food is best enjoyed hot. Plenty of free parking in the lot.

I waited years and came from Australia to try Wendy's food! First thing I have to say after trying a variety of of items of the menu...Wendy's is known for it's soul rolls. My god, I LOVED the soul rolls. If you're not into spice, just ask Wendy to reduce the amount of Jalapenos lol! I like the spice so I loved it. I also bought a chicken sandwich which was good, but I'd like to see fresh bread used for that price. Fries were hot, crisped and seasoned to perfection! The Mac n cheese definitely needed more flavour/seasoning and could taste better. I made the immediate assumption that Wendy wasn't behind the Mac n cheese... 100% returning here just for the soul rolls. Absolutely love em! ❤️ Keep up the good work Wendy! ❤️
MTA D — Google review
I've followed Wendy for years on Instagram as her soul food looked absolutely amazing! I commented on one of Wendy's posts telling her that I was excited to try her food. I live in Mankato, MN, but we were in the cities and me and my brother tried it for the first time. It's in the North Market, and when you walk into the store she's on the right hand side of the store. Unfortunately, I missed Wendy by about a half hour or so... But I plan on coming back. We ordered a couple soul rolls which were to die for. They were crispy, flavorful and her soul sauce for the rolls was excellent. We talked to some people waiting in line and they said to try the chicken wings next time. They said the wings were phenomenal, so that'll be on my next trip up there. The staff at Wendy's House of Soul were great, I even asked if I could take a picture with them and they kindly obliged me. I will definitely be going back and I can't wait try those wings! I was souled ❤️

Visited this spot per recommendation from a friend. The parking lot is located out front. Wendy’s is located by in deli towards the right of the grocery store. The lady working the register was super cool and helped us with any questions that we had about the display case. We ordered our food and waited about twenty minutes before it was ready. I think it’s neat that the fish options are tilapia and catfish and you can decide if you want it baked or fried. The rice was a bit heavy but everything else was pretty good. He was a fan of the nanny roll & I definitely understand the hype around the caramel cake!
Markeda D — Google review
I came from Saint paul to try her and let me tell you everything tasted so good. I got the soul chicken legs which were seasoned to perfect. if you like your chicken well seasoned Wendy's is the place to go. The fries, greens, and Mac were seasoned to perfection as well. My wife got the lemon pepper which was also good.10/10 I would recommend.
Stephanie L — Google review
I went here hoping to get a good Philly Cheese Steak and was disappointed. The Fries had seasoning on them but nothing beats 5 Guys fries or Hooks Lemon Pepper Fries in Brooklyn Center. The people at Wendy's House and Sould need more Soul and make their food better. I won't be going back.

It was my first time here today! I tried the soul rolls. They taste beyond amazing, especially after you pour a little bit of their sauce on each bite! I was beyond please with the pricing as well! I will definitely be going back when I can!.the best food in a eggroll. Freshly made and the perfect sauces to go with whatever you choose!.The Mac and cheese roll was our favorite.

This place is beautiful! I went with friends for a weeknight bite and cocktail and it was perfect. The strawberry lemon drop was *chef kiss* - the wings were proper and of course the cooper burger doesn't miss! 100% check this place out!

First stop first time in town and was one of fav spots whole trip. I didn't even feel like fish when entering but bartender recommended the cod tacos and it was one of the best single dishes had in Minneapolis. They had a perfect crisp fry on quality cod and the Lebanese slaw, tar tar sauce, and jalapeno salsa melted me in my seat at first bite how good it was all together. Great natural wines, had to come back again the last day for another round of drinks but sadly had other agenda for food as will have to come back here for any bites or dinner if ever in Minneapolis again, I'm still thinking of those tacos weeks later back home

Step Chld. God. I loved the location, the name, and the vibe immediately upon walking in. The food was delicious 😋. I had the sweet potato fritters 8/10. If you're a dessert before dinner person I 1000% recommend. It was the perfect combo of sweet, salty, savory. I could've done without the maple syrup personally. Now, the star for my palette and tummy was the pork belly 100/10. Everything hit! Like this was an elevated comfort meal and I had to talk myself out of ordering another plate to go lol. Last but not least, I had the pineapple proof and baby that's a drank - tasty and definitely gonna get you to where you wanna be. This was a solo dinner. I enjoyed every bit. Also, shout out to the host 🙌🏾 👏🏾, he had no idea how that "sit back and relax" as he boxed up my leftovers was so needed.

You cannot go wrong with anything on this menu! You can just tell that everything is well thought out and every ingredient is purposeful. We love to try burgers around town and this one is one of the best 👌. Those sweet potato fritters... oh, and the WINGS! need to get them (both) every time!

StepChld has been one of my favorite restaurants since I first dined there in 2021. Went last night with a gal pal who has never been and we had a lovely time. The food was excellent, as always. Our server, Deandra, was delightful. She knew the menu very well and was able to give us honest and helpful recommendations. My favorite dishes include the Ethiopian Birria Tacos, the Lavender Nori Shrimp, the Cooper Burger, the Magic Dust Wings, and the Sweet Potato Fritters.
Eleanor A — Google review
Dinner review: Recommend reservations, give yourself extra time to find metered parking. Loved the burger (very messy but worth it) and the sweet potato fritters. Tip: order the fritters with your food and eat last as dessert. So sweet and delicious! Other notable items: Best negroni Lavender Mori Shrimp - phenomenal sauce, light lavender (not strong), and the shrimp are flavorless (added just before serving vs simmer in sauce). Cooper Burger is very messy and has a spicy kick. Can get really loud inside, maybe not a good date night spot if you want to talk. Brunch is also amazing!!
Sarah C — Google review
Really enjoyed the cocktails and sweet potato fritters! The magic dust wings were some of the best wings I’ve ever had. I wish they were a little bit spicier, but the crispiness was good. I was happy they were able to split the smash burger meal, For me, it was too much sauce, but the taste was absolutely amazing!

Tender Lovin Chix, also known as TLC, has been making waves with its panko-crusted tenders since it first appeared at pop-ups and later launched a food truck. The recent opening of its brick-and-mortar location in Minneapolis has delighted fans who now have a permanent spot to indulge in their favorite dishes.
I watched an ad on TikTok of another foodie and I was impressed and decided I had to try this place for myself. I’m so glad I did. I believe the hype. It was wonderful from the moment I stepped in and the lovely lady behind the bar told us to sit anywhere to the moment she bought out the appetizers drinks and main entrées. The place was well lit beautiful for photos and so easy-going with amazing food. I truly enjoyed my experience and I will be back.

My girls and I love it here and the owner is amazing. It’s a versatile vibe I enjoy on girls night for drinks and fun family dinners. 10000/10 recommend for everyone to try at least once. The Sammie and rush hour 4 are our favorites!
Taylor R — Google review
Sadly a big disappointment. First, the restaurant interior smelled like pee, we were ordering to go. 17$ (before tax) For just a hot honey chicken sandwhich and fries that looked like this in the photo? The sandwhich bun was burnt on the top and rim, and there was no pickles on mine. Chicken with sauces was very inconsistent, the "hot" honey flavor wasn't that sweet but not hot at all, and didn't mix great with the dill sauce (this sauce was really good). Chicken breading & sauciness was inconsisent as shown in the photo, so overall there was some good bites and not so good. Fries were gross and oddly tough outside doughy inside, reminded me of highschool cafeteria fries. My boyfriend got the wings, good size but barley crispy and the buffalo sauce was bland, 14$ for six pieces & no side or drink?? Worst fried chicken place i've had in the Twin Cities so far. For the price and non-fast food vibe of this place was expecting much better, but I would rather go to popeyes regardless of price.
Jade M — Google review
The food truck is great so I needed to check out the restaurant with the expanded menu. I ordered the Rush Hour 4, Chicken and Waffles, and chicken pot stickers. Rush Hour 4 always hits with amazing fried rice, huge and crispy chicken tenders, and yum yum sauce. The chicken and waffles dish was unique because I had teriyaki chicken wings with it. Teriyaki sauce and maple syrup is an odd pairing that works for me. The waffle was good, soft and fluffy. Pot stickers were good too. Friendly service, free parking in the back, and plenty of TV screens all add to the experience at Tender Lovin Chix! I need to work my way through the rest of the menu.

We visted sunday 9/21. So when i think brunch i think women. That was not the case here. Lots of hard bodies lol. The vibe was cool though. My waitress/bartender saved this review actually. I ordered chicken and waffles at first. Waffles were hard and cold. I asked for butter and was given already melted butter. We scrapped that order and i had the sammie. 10/10. Full flavor and the potatoes were actually seasoned. I had a mocktail that was really delish and we spent on avg about $30/pp.
Jay H — Google review
What a great place! Open and airy vibe with vibrant colors. Chicken is delicious and moist on the inside, very crispy breading on the outside. Fries are amazing. Yum Yum sauce is delicious.
Paul B — Google review
We went in August not too long after they opened. Had been driving by a few times and was excited for a chicken place to open. The outside of the restaurant is a little deceiving. You would think it’s a focused chicken place but upon entering, it’s a bar/restaurant setting. We were sat at the bar to order and the menu is actually fushion. It was just the bartender taking all orders and even though there wasn’t a lot of people (a handful of people at the bar and tables were empty), service was slow (maybe no wait staff hired yet?). Ordered food to go. Pretty expensive, but the workers were raving about how good the food is so we wanted to support the business and maybe this would be our new favorite chicken tender place. While we waited, we checked out what other people ordered and it seemed ok but nothing special. Food: they didn’t give us any dipping sauce for the chicken tenders or fries. I guess you have to specifically ask for dipping sauce and ketchup. The fries were good. The chicken was not seasoned at all. No salt or pepper. We were surprised and ate the breading and meat separately to see if there was any seasoning. Nope, the meat and breading were both tasteless, really bland. At least the chicken was tender?? The tacos weren’t bad but we’ve had better flavor elsewhere. Fried chicken wings is also just your everyday chicken, nothing special. Since they had just opened, we figured they were still figuring things out so maybe we will stop in sometime in the future (drive by all the time) to give them a second chance. Maybe. It’s an interesting menu and spacious space. Just disappointed that out of everything, the fries were the best and chicken was bland.

Chicken restaurant
Nashville Coop is a Minneapolis hotspot that offers a unique twist on Nashville-style hot chicken. Founded by brothers Arif and Kamal Mohamed, the restaurant infuses their mother's homemade Ethiopian spice blend into their dishes. The menu features extra-long and powerfully hot tenders served with cooling sauce and slaw to balance out the heat.
Incredible flavor and heat, if you want hot chicken this is the place to go. Support a local restuarant instead of Canes.
Chris V — Google review
Think of Nashville Coop as a slightly higher end, local version of a fast-food chicken restaurant with an ethnic spice twist. The restaurant offers a simple menu served out of an immaculate fast casual chicken shop front. Generally, chicken tenders with the customer’s choice of rub (from mild to extremely spicy) served with Texas Toast, Coleslaw, and French Fries based on the meal, alongside a signature sauce. My mini coop (mild) Texas toast chicken tender meal came with all the fixings mentioned above, stacked tightly in a small basket. The Coleslaw tasted a little old but had a nice and springy crunch. The Texas Toast on the other hand was soft, scrumptious, and slathered in a rich layer of butter. The chicken itself was delicious, but a little dry. I also felt as if the rub was a bit too thick, grainy, and salty. The bed of French Fries provided a tasteful base to the meal alongside its tangy signature sauce. Taken altogether, the large portion was more than filling and provides enough for two meals. Though slightly more expensive than an ordinary fast food chicken shop, the large portion, quality food, and twist on a classic, provided by Nashville Coop make it a good option for those looking for a bit of a treat. A word to the wise: Its busier than you think. A large portion of this restaurant’s orders are pickups, and the line is longer than empty shop suggests.
Avik M — Google review
Nashville Coop has great chicken with amazing seasoning. The chicken is always very juicy and has not overwhelming breading. The size of each piece of chicken is very satisfactory and offers a filling meal. The french fries are some of my favorites. Each meal comes with two sauce containers that are incredible. It is a creamy sauce that adds to the chicken or fries instead of taking away from the flavor. There is a variety of spice levels to select. You can purchase tenders, a sandwich, or a Texas toast meal. They also have sides of coleslaw and macaroni and cheese. In a separate occasion, I had the macaroni and cheese and didn't enjoy it much. It was very thick and bready and did not have a strong cheesy flavor.
Andrew A — Google review
The chicken tender basket is a pretty good deal because you get 3 huge tenders and fries and a fountain drink for about $14, but the quality of the food isn't amazing. There isn't much flavor on the chicken, its just covered in cayenne pepper to give it heat. Like imagine eating wings where they're really spicy but don't taste particularly great. And the fries sometimes taste like they've been fried in dirty oil. The interior of the restaurant is the biggest downside, as the tables are usually covered in crumbs and grease/soda spots. The floor is always sticky. Also the food takes longer than expected to prepare even though it's just chicken tenders and fries.
Hagan L — Google review
My favorite chicken sandwich place in campus, chicken was excellently cooked and seasoned, the sauce was great. However the buns were alright and maybe a different one would be good. Overall pretty solid and it’s halal!
Salman ( — Google review
Stopped by Nashville Coop before a Gophers game. The Texas Toast meal, at coop heat level, is my go to, with toast, chicken tenders, pickles, slaw, fries, and dipping sauce. Good heat on the chicken and the slaw helps cleanse your palate if you need it. I also ordered the mac and cheese. A very creamy mac and it was delicious! Great food, fast service, and a convenient location for all Gophers events!
Onyedimma N — Google review
Their Chicken strips are delicious and note that their spice levels are Legit! Growlin spice level had me sweating, but it was worth it. Best chicken tenders that I have had in a long time. Usually I don't eat fries, but I tried it here because it was part of the meal and they were not very crispy. However, it had great flavor. I highly recommend this chain!
A K — Google review
Actually spicy chicken! I have continually been disappointed by the inaccurate spice level ratings in the twin cities but I'd say that the scale here is pretty accurate. I got the second from the hottest and it actually had a pretty good kick of spice. The chicken was cooked well- crispy coating on the outside, juicy meat on the inside. The fries were seasoned and the sauce that came with it was pretty good, zesty and creamy. Fries portions are generous. The combo is a little on the pricey side but does come with a drink, so I guess that puts it on par with other dining options around campus.

Bonchon Dinkytown is a popular casual chain known for its made-to-order Korean fried chicken and traditional dishes. The menu offers a small but delicious selection, including lunch combos. The restaurant has a nice ambiance for casual dining with friends and serves some of the best fries, which come in generous portions. While prices may be slightly higher, the fresh and delicious food makes it worth it.
Got food delivered to work. They have generous portions. I ordered the Fried Rice with Bulgogi (beef) Price is decent, $11.95 for just the rice and up charge for meat. Flavor is good, not to salty. A little on the oily side but overall pretty tasty. I recommend a try. They got a decent variety.

I placed an order for pickup. The entire order was a disaster. I asked for regular fries and they gave seasoned. I ordered a Pepsi with my food they gave me a Coke and didn't tell me so I went back and he said we don't have Pepsi so I stated I don't drink Coke can I get something else he said let's see what we have I walk over it's about 20 Pepsi 's in the cooler 😡. Then I paid for extra egg in my fried rice and didn't have any eggs at all. I hated the taste it tasted old. The Maple Grove location is so much better. I do not like this dinky town location, it's to expensive to be nasty

Tried Bonchon at Dinkytown the other day and overall I’d give it a solid 4/5! 😋 The bulgogi cheesy rice (I forgot the exact name.lol) was so satisfying. It’s warm, flavorful, and cheesy in just the right way. Definitely something I’d come back for. But the surprise star for me? The kimchi! I’ve never really been into it before, but their version changed my mind. It had just the right balance of tangy and spicy. it kinda made me want to start eating kimchi more regularly 👀🔥 Service was decent, the vibe was chill, and it’s a good spot if you’re craving Korean comfort food without going too far from U campus. Will probably swing by again to try more from the menu!

Everything about the experience was decent, but the next day I got food poisoning. For me, I don’t want to spend $17 +$2 in tax just to get sick. I’m going back to K-Bop next time.

Hard not to like this place or the food! Bonchon is probably one of my favorite restaurants, no lie! I love it and so might you, please give them a try!

The ambiance is nice for casual dining with friends. This place has one of the best fries I ever had. The fries portion size is huge! so make sure you have a partner to share you fries. The food is fresh and very delicious! The prices are slightly higher. Overall a highly recommended and a must try place. The chicken is just the best!

Let me start off by saying that I wish there were half star options. I save my 5 star ratings for food that blows my mind because it is so good. The food here is delicious! 4.5 stars would be my rating. The place is clean and the service is really good. Nice atmosphere. My husband has high standards with his Korean food and he absolutely loved it. Highly recommend the food and will be coming back for sure!
