Tucked away near the famous Van Kahvalti Evi, Yiğit Sofram Gözleme ve Kahvaltı is a delightful gem that promises an authentic Turkish breakfast experience without breaking the bank. This cozy eatery exudes warmth and charm, reminiscent of a welcoming living room with its unique indoor-outdoor vibe. The menu features generous portions crafted from fresh, locally sourced ingredients that are sure to tantalize your taste buds.
It’s quite hard to find a brunch place as good as this one in Istanbul. Although it’s quite on a hill and takes some effort to reach, the breakfast spreads they provide are absolutely phenomenal. From the variation of cheese, to the multiple sauces they provide, each leaves its own unique taste. The boiled eggs are very tasty and nothing like I’ve ever had before and the sujuk is also very nice. The highlight for me however was in-house bread accompanied by the honey and cream. It was soo good and literally had me begging for more. Will definitely be returning!
Bashcr — Google review
Ordered 4 portions of eggs (different kinds) and you can see in the picture what we got. Food was great, turkish coffee flavourful (and first time when I was asked if I wanted a double) and staff was very friendly (one of the waiters helped us learn a few handy turkish words). Not the cheapest breakfast we had, but very good price-quality ratio.

You get a good introduction to the Turkish breakfast for a good price! The food is so good and the place is very clean! The staff will help you out if u need anything or explain the dishes! The atmosphere is very nice ! Try it!

I had mushroom + cheese gozleme. I asked for less cheese and they can cook it as requested. The food tasted good but not too exciting. Pomegranate juice was good. The restaurant is pretty cool with pretty unique decor & staff is attentive + friendly. Would I go back? Yes.

I absolutely loved this place — everything from the cozy atmosphere to the delicious food was perfect. The breakfast was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and the service was fast even though it was busy. It’s the perfect spot to start your morning near Taksim — relaxing, tasty, and full of local charm. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a real breakfast experience in Istanbul!

We came to Yigit Sofram based on recommendations from Reddit and they did not dissapoint! The food here is extremely delicious, decor and seating is comfortable and spacious, and the customer service is excellent as well! The meal sets start at 310TL (€6.8) through to 450TL (€10) and consist of a main (consisting of some form of fried eggs) with accompanying vegetables, bread and a complimentary Chai tea. From the mains we tried, would suggest trying the: - Famous Yigit Eggs - Turkish Sausages with Eggs - Halloumi Cheese - Roasted Beef with Eggs I'd highly recommend ordering the Cream and Honey Dip as it pairs excellently with the freshly baked flatbread. The Turkish Coffee is also excellent as well! This place is lovely and we have already been here twice on our 3 day trip. I'd highly recommend you to pay them a visit!

The cafe specialized in various types of Turkish breakfast. Everything was delicious, the Muhlama was great. The only disadvantage is the price. In my opinion it was quite high

Mevlana Kebap Lahmacun Salonu is a popular spot known for its delicious and affordable Turkish cuisine. The menu features lahmacun, a flavorful pizza-like dish topped with tomato, herbs, and meat, as well as other traditional options like kebabs and liver. The restaurant offers generous portions and complimentary treats such as pita bread before the main meal and baklava with Turkish tea for dessert.
We had an amazing experience at this Turkish restaurant in Istanbul! The food was absolutely delicious, full of authentic flavors and beautifully prepared. The service was warm and attentive, making us feel very welcome. The location is perfect, easy to find and with a lovely atmosphere that adds to the experience. Prices are very affordable for the quality you get, which makes it even better. If you want to enjoy traditional Turkish food in Istanbul, this is definitely the place to go. highly recommended!
Milena M — Google review
A friend of mine showed me this place one night and we ended up eating here the next 3 nights for the rest of our trip! Even if we were all the way on the other European side, we always found ourselves gravitating towards this restaurant. The prices are reasonable, the food is tasty, and the staff are sweet, what more could you ask for? Generously, the meal would start with bread and ezme and end with baklava. Lentil soup, eggplant salad, and menemen were some of our go-tos. The adana kebab and chicken were also winners! I would give more stars if I could haha. I’m going to miss the good vibes of the kind gentleman, teşekkürler!!
Risel E — Google review
The spicy Kebap was delicious and well priced. Complimentary tea, a free appetizer and a little baklava despite me not ordering much. Waiter was a little pushy like many in the city, but service was quick and otherwise friendly. Strongly recommend!
Jackdidily — Google review
This was definitely the best value-for-money dinner I had in Istanbul! I had the spicy kebab and an aubergine 'salad' (cooked with tomatoes and capsicum) which were really yummy and both good portion sizes. The meal came to 520 in total including my drink. Owner and staff were very friendly, and they even gave baklava, starters and tea for free. There is free Wi-Fi. Overall a pleasant experience.

Mevlana Kebap Lahmacun Salonu is a fantastic choice if you’re looking for authentic Turkish food without overspending. Located in Fatih, it serves generous portions of tasty lahmacun, kebabs, and more—typically costing around ₺200–₺400 per person. The real highlight? Complimentary appetizers like bread, followed by baklava and Turkish tea at the end—such warm hospitality adds tremendous value. The atmosphere is casual, the service friendly, and the quality consistently good. An excellent spot for both locals and visitors seeking great flavor and great prices.
Nicolò S — Google review
Terrible experience! I do not recommend this restaurant at all. The staff were extremely rude and displayed clear racist behavior, especially towards non-Turkish customers. One of the staff gave me very unpleasant looks and made comments in Turkish. I also witnessed another customer, who was there with his family, have an argument with the staff just because he asked for an empty plate — and they wanted to charge him extra for it! Absolutely unacceptable. Very disappointing.
Anas B — Google review
So happy we found this place. Great food at an unbeatable price. We have tried the chicken and the Adana kebab, both were delicious.
Claire K — Google review
Very tasty, very good food. Unfortunately, due to time, didn’t take photos of main course. Lamb Sish and chicken chop, very tasty and with nice accompanying sides. The price is also value for money. Highly recommended. Near the hotels

Dessert restaurant
Baklavacı Diyar Usta Sirkeci is a must-visit in Istanbul for baklava enthusiasts. Unlike traditional baklava, they offer unique variations like a chocolate version that resembles a fudgy brownie. Customers praise the shop for its incredible baklava that's not overly sweet and has the perfect flaky texture.
We love Baklava! But I haven’t had such fresh and delicious Baklava in a long time. It’s easy to forget that authentic Turkish Baklava isn’t actually that sweet! Definitely super tasty – and we’ll definitely be coming back! Huge selection of all kinds of sweet specialties from Turkish cuisine.I definitely recommend the Künefe, but those baked walnuts are simply heavenly too! Very attentive service and a friendly owner.
Veit B — Google review
Good attendance with reasonable price. It's no crowned and the Americano coffee is yummy. The guys working there are very easygoing. There isn't toilet.
Pandora — Google review
I just left the restaurant around midnight. Of all the restaurants I’ve been to in Istanbul, this one had the coldest atmosphere. I’m not sure if it’s because it was closing time, but the ambiance was really chilly. I wanted to leave. The food was good. The restaurant seemed clean. The place looks nice. I told the waiter that the food was good, and he said, “Ah, okay.” I said goodbye, and no one responded. I’m keeping a healthy skepticism—maybe the first person didn’t speak English, maybe the second didn’t hear me—but from start to finish, you can feel the coldness. It feels like you’re a disturbance. Advice: smile more, be warmer, a good meal and a nice restaurant aren’t enough. What people remember is truly the warmth and kindness. I hope my comment helps fewer people leave disappointed. A simple tourist.
Zahra — Google review
Perfect afternoon pick me up. Had an assortment of baklava and turkish coffee. Personal favourite was 'cold baklava', a mix of cold milk, something and baklava. Like an ice cream cake baklava. The owner was super lovely and ran us through everything. Right next to the tram line. Dance music playing inside.
Taylor J — Google review
Decided we wanted something sweet with our morning coffee. Tried a small sampling of delicious baklava and a coffee. The gentleman who served us was very helpful and the coffee did not disappoint. My husband had an espresso and I had a cappuccino and it was the best coffee I have had in weeks. He told us they serve Lavazza (Italian coffee)! The restaurant was clean and very inviting. We will be back!
Kate D — Google review
Absolutely love it. The classic baklava with ice cream is amazing and with a Turkish coffee it is a true match made in heaven
Atila B — Google review
When I came across Diyar Usta a few years back when visiting Turkey for the first time, previously known as Sugar Factory, we have tried kunefe and baklava at different places but this has by far been the best and freshest. Since then, Diyar Usta has become part of our daily routine for our everyday dessert fix when visiting Istanbul. Our favourite items that keeps us coming back for more are their kunefe, baklava, San Sebastián cheesecake and chocolate brownies. With our last visit in January 2025, we met their new waitress, Faziela, she has been such a delight to our experience, a pleasant and well spoken young lady, offering top tiered service! Thank you Faziela, you are a gem to Diyar Usta!

He didn’t buy the beige colour Turkish delight, one of them is missing even tho we told him repeatedly what we wanted. Didn’t check this until later on. Make sure to check your boxes cause you might end up with something missing

Kofta restaurant
Turkish restaurant
Tarihi Sultanahmet Köftecisi Selim Usta is a historic eatery located in the Sultanahmet neighborhood of Istanbul. Managed by the fourth-generation descendants of its founder, Mehmet Seracettin Efendi, this establishment has maintained its popularity and quality since its founding in 1920. The menu features their famous flat and chewy kofte, as well as piyaz, lamb skewers, rice, pickled peppers, and lentil soup.
We had an amazing meal at Sultanahmet Köftecisi, just steps from the Blue Mosque. The famous köfte (meatballs) were juicy, perfectly seasoned, and so flavorful—absolutely lived up to the reputation. We also tried the white bean salad and freshly baked bread, which paired perfectly with the meatballs. The service was quick and friendly, even though the place was busy with locals and tourists alike. Prices were very reasonable for such a popular spot. If you’re in Sultanahmet and want authentic Turkish comfort food in a historic setting, this is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Istanbul!
Praneet R — Google review
I have been visiting Tarihi Sultanahmet Köftecisi Selim Usta every year since 2017, and it has always been a must-stop for me whenever I come to Istanbul. Their köfte is consistently delicious, full of flavor, and perfectly cooked – it’s the highlight of my visits. The place has a special charm that keeps bringing me back year after year. One thing I’ve noticed, however, is that the prices are not fixed and have changed quite a bit over the years. Despite that, the taste and quality of the food remain reliable, and for me, it’s still worth it for the authentic experience. A true Istanbul classic for anyone who loves good köfte.
Si 6 — Google review
This place is truly a gem in this area flooded with tourist traps. We tried both the kofte (meatballs) and lamb kebab — both were delicious and well-cooked although the lamb kebab was slightly underseasoned. We ended up ordering more kofte to enjoy with the pilaf and bean salad. Simple but absolutely satisfying meal!
Muriel A — Google review
During our visit to Turkey, I found that the local meat often had a strong flavor, I wasn’t sure if it was due to the spices or the type of meat used. However, the meat served here had a milder and more balanced taste that my husband and I really enjoyed. As tourists, we wanted to try traditional köfte, and this place truly delivered. The dish was well-prepared, flavorful, and definitely worth trying for anyone looking to experience authentic Turkish cuisine
Eya B — Google review
I ordered the grilled lamb with Pilaf rice - OMG it was super delicious The lentil soup was so yummy too - squeezed some lemon and sprinkled some salt. It was truly a satisfying meal and I was indeed so happy. Now I can go back to my hotel and rest after a wonderful meal I was even lucky to be given a slice of semolina cake by one of the staff. Super friendly staff and good service. The menu is simple and easy to order for tourists
Jasmine H — Google review
First time trying Turkish meatballs, I enjoyed them, they were tasty and aromatic. Service was great too, we ordered one sharing plate and they proactively split it into two for us.
Isabelle L — Google review
This place is clearly popular and sits in a prime spot right by the main attraction, but the food felt overpriced. It was €10 for a small plate of meat and every add on was charged separately. The meat tasted ordinary and nothing really stood out. The complimentary bread was dry and seemed like it had been sitting too long. Service felt chaotic with little attention to guests. Overall it was not a pleasant dining experience and felt more like a basic food court than a restaurant at this price point.
LP Y — Google review
Tarihi Sultanahmet Köftecisi is an absolute gem for anyone wanting to experience authentic Turkish köfte in a historic setting. The moment you step inside, you’re greeted with a no-fuss, old-school atmosphere that lets the food speak for itself — and it truly delivers. The köfte are perfectly seasoned, juicy, and grilled to perfection. The simplicity of the menu is what makes it brilliant — they’ve been doing the same thing for over a century, and they’ve mastered it. The accompanying white bean salad (piyaz) and fresh bread round out the meal beautifully. Service is fast, efficient, and friendly, even when the restaurant is packed (which it often is!). Prices are reasonable, and the quality is consistently excellent. Whether you’re a tourist exploring Sultanahmet or a local craving a nostalgic bite, this place is a must-visit. It’s not just a meal — it’s part of Istanbul’s culinary history.

Karadeniz Pide Vefa is a hidden gem in Istanbul, offering traditional Turkish pide with various toppings like meat, cheese, and vegetables. The place is popular among locals for its amazing food and efficient service. The staff is hospitable and inviting, providing a warm atmosphere. While the pide may not be suitable for those on a diet due to its high carbohydrate and fat content, it's definitely worth trying for an authentic taste of Turkey.
Best meal we had in Istanbul! Hyper local, there wasn’t a single tourist besides us at dinner time. They do not speak English but are more than happy to use translate and speak with their hands. The owner was incredible, stopping by our table to ask how our food was and check us out. He even showed us a picture of himself at 13 years old on the wall. Incredible food, incredible experience! If you want to avoid the tourists traps and have a quality, reasonably priced meal - go here!
Sarah P — Google review
Fantastic find …. Shhhh not really too many people! Mostly locals enjoying lunch, place was packed.
Alun E — Google review
Exceptional Pides! A recommendation we found online from a 2 star Michelin chef and his favourite eats in the city. The staff were so friendly, despite speaking very little english. The food was incredible, fresh, authentic and tasty. Would defiantly come again.
Janine K — Google review
It is a family cafe for eating simple but tasty food with nice men taking care about you and cooking, that's where you fill like in Turkey and not in the tourist area. Prices are also much lower than anything else in the old town and nearby. It is not really a restaurant with fancy dishes, it is a canteen where you come to eat when you are hungry and you do not want to spend 1-2000L on a single meal

We came to this restaurant for its famous pide, and it was not disappointing! One little surprise was that their pide was the closed style (meat inside the bread) but not the open one like a pizza. It was delicious. Also the geen peppers were so good, properly spicy.

Food was great. Had the Kebab and the meat egg Pida. Kebab was abit gamey though. After taste is too strong. Although, you can wash it down with a drink or the yoghurt on the side. The staff was ultra friendly and helpful to offer recommendations and guidance. Watching out for us anytime.

Nestled just below street level in Kadikoy, Bütme Evi is a charming little eatery that might easily be overlooked. With only a few outdoor tables and an inviting interior, this cozy spot specializes in gozleme—a delightful Turkish flatbread filled with various ingredients like meat, vegetables, and cheese. As you step inside, you'll be greeted by the sight of skilled Turkish women preparing these delicious pastries right on a traditional flat iron cook-table.
We went there more than once. And absolutely would like to go there again and recommend it to anyone who wants to try Turkish homemade food. We tried the Manti, the stuffed vine leaves, and some other things. You can see how they prepare your meals. The prices are affordable. The employees are so friendly. The place is clean also there’s inside and outside seating.

A small restaurant that you easily run past as it is so small and located downstairs. There are a few small tables outside for those who want to sit there. And they also have a garden in the back, away from the sun. Whether you are sitting outside or inside, it can be fun to watch the talented ladies sitting right behind the window, on the floor and cooking. Where they cook, they sit in peace, so it looks clean and hygienic. You can buy take away or have the food delivered home. The food is very genuine, tasty and delicious! Served with good side dishes. The staff is nice and helpful! Their English is okay. Highly recommended! Edit: I have tried a few more dishes here, and everything has been very good!

It was really good. We went two times. Food was so delicious. You should try Mantı so tasty. Yaprak sarması it was too dry I didn't like it. First time l tried Tarhana soup. It has different taste which l loved it. 😍 Price was good. And the atmosphere amazing.

Nice place with 3 eating areas. Open early. The soup is delicious and the gozleme are very good, with big portions. A wide variety of pre-made combination of ingredients and the possibility of creating your own.

Entering this place is like a trip to a different era. The speciality is gözelme, and these are made by three or four chefs seated around a large grill by the entrance of the restaurant. The gözelme can be filled with the fillings of your choosing. Highly recommended.

The menu is very simple and easy to understand. The food is simple homemade, comfort food. We really enjoyed our lunch and are planning to return with friends next week. I highly recommend. #helloTürkiye Update: still a good place to visit, prices are 90% higher from the last time I had eaten there and since I posted photos due to inflation. Turkish restaurant
Cafe Privato Restaurant is a rustic-chic dining option located near the historic Galata Tower, offering traditional Turkish cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The restaurant is known for serving a sensational Turkish breakfast spread with an abundance of fresh ingredients including tomatoes, olives, cheeses, and homemade jams. Additionally, it offers sizzling eggs, grilled sucuk sausage, and an array of savory and sweet pastries.
Visited in August 2025. Turkey 🇹🇷 Istanbul. Cafe Privato Restaurant is a charming little eatery with a delightful terrace, apparently linked to a hotel. We chose it inspired by glowing reviews and the appeal of options beyond the standard Turkish breakfast. FOOD: Among the choices is the Turkish breakfast, but unlike many spots in Istanbul where they either force you to order two portions or list the price straight for a pair (which frustrates plenty of reviewers), here you can simply get it for one. So we opted for a single Turkish breakfast and a plain omelet. The Turkish breakfast was wonderfully fresh and flavorful, brimming with assorted baked treats—those fluffy pancakes were a highlight—along with veggies, fresh cheeses, savory spreads, and eggs; all in all, a beautifully diverse and satisfying spread for a hearty morning meal. The omelet was prepared flawlessly, striking the ideal balance—not too runny or overly dry—with a smooth, inviting texture. SERVICE: The service was exceptionally warm and welcoming; our waiter spoke fluent Russian and guided us thoughtfully through the menu, even graciously preparing the plain omelet that wasn’t originally listed. VERDICT: An excellent restaurant boasting a picturesque terrace ideal for basking in sunny weather. The food was truly delicious, with prices a shade above average compared to other places, yet we thoroughly savored the meal and ambiance—the option for an individual breakfast is a standout perk.

We absolutely LOVED this restaurant. The staff and manager were SO kind, the food was incredible, and we liked it so much that we came *three* times during our four day visit. I will NEVER stop thinking about the lentil soup, not was incredible and I would love the recipe 😍 The Turkish breakfast was also amazing.

We were recommended to try their turkish breakfast and were glad we did. As the picture speaks for itself, the portion for 2 could easily feed 3-4 people. The spread itself was great, a variety of fresh produce and simple yet tasty condiments. Even better, the window seats gives you a nice view of Galata tower. Price is reasonable and the restaurant is spacious if you're going in a large group. This was easily the best turkish breakfast we had in Istanbul.

Specializing in food from Antakya, a city in southern Turkey, this eatery offers a massive breakfast spread featuring various cheeses, breads, olives, garlic yogurt, eggs, preserves and jams.
This is a great place for breakfast. We had Turkish breakfast here. The taste was great. One Turkish breakfast is sufficient for two people. The service is also fast. The staff are very helpful and polite. It has outdoor and indoor seats. Overall one of the top places to enjoy Turkish breakfast.

Mostly it was okay. We had different types of menemen, nothing special. All drinks were extra (ordered if you wanted, but you don’t get anything complimentary), including Turkish tea which we got on the house jn our other breakfast experiences. When we asked for dessert, we were told there’s no desserts in extra season (September). This felt weird, at least take it off the menu completely… considering it’s still pretty crowded in the city and the place was kind of full, so I can’t say this was for a lack of clientele. Considering our other experiences, I wouldn’t return here (there are two other places we tried within a 5min distance where we felt much better).

One of the food highlights of our Turkey trip so far — granted it’s only day four. The portion was super generous and the menemen the best I’ve had so far. Other worthy mentions of the 20-something mini toppings are the aubergine “salad”, peanut butter with honey, and the sausage. It was satisfying to have a full spread for the experience, but next time I’ll get the menemen and a selection of others — that would work better for me. The service was courteous and speedy, the atmosphere nice, really there’s not much more to ask for.

Lokma is a Turkish restaurant located on the Bosphorus Strait, offering a diverse breakfast menu with various cheeses and egg dishes. The restaurant's prime location on the Sultan Mehmed Al Fateh Bridge provides stunning views of the strait, making it an ideal spot for a family breakfast. While the prices are reasonable and valet service is available, some find it expensive and express concerns about smoking in non-smoking areas.
The food experience was great! The price was good in comparison to quality. The view was amazing and our servant thanks to her moved us to a view table beside the window when we asked her.She was really great and helpful . My only problem was the parking. Since you either have to leave the car to the valet or park far and walk to the restaurant.

A special mention goes to Eren, who welcomed us warmly at the entrance. He spoke professional English, which made communication so much easier and set a positive tone for the whole experience. The breakfast was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. The variety was impressive, and every dish had great flavor. We had our breakfast at the Lokma Restaurant and really enjoyed the experience. The staff were polite and attentive, and the restaurant offered a beautiful view with a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for having a nice chat with my guests without any noise. The menu items were a bit on the pricey side, but the quality and cleanliness made up for it. The restrooms were exceptionally clean and well maintained. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this restaurant!

The environment was pleasant, but the food tasted average. The chicken pasta was delicious, but we didn’t enjoy the herb cheese pide.
Ali T — Google review
Lokma has a nice atmosphere and decent food, but it’s not quite the traditional Turkish breakfast experience I expected. The set menu isn’t really a full set — you need to order most items separately, which makes it less convenient and a bit pricey overall. The food quality is average, and while it’s not bad, there are definitely other places around that offer a better Turkish breakfast for a more reasonable price

Let’s be honest here: you are paying for the view. It feels incredible to witness boats gliding the Bosporus under the bridge while seeping your mocktail. We ate pizza, falafel and mukhamara, also polished it with some lemon sorbet - everything was tasteful and fresh! Service was attentive.

This is the place to be for breakfast. It's also the only place in that street without any opressive waiters outside that tries to lure you inside. ANADOLU DÖNER İSKENDER VE KEBAP SALONU is a small restaurant located near the Grand Bazaar, offering delicious doner kebabs made from slowly roasted chicken or meat served in Turkish white bread with a variety of fresh vegetables and sauces. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable for the area. The friendly staff provides fast service and a welcoming atmosphere.
We had the most incredible experience at this family-owned Turkish restaurant! From the moment we walked in, the lively and welcoming atmosphere made us feel like part of the family. The energy in the room — the music, the laughter, the aromas coming from the kitchen — all set the stage for an unforgettable meal. Every dish was bursting with authentic flavor and prepared with so much heart. You can truly taste the tradition and care in every bite. The staff were warm, attentive, and eager to make sure we enjoyed every moment. This wasn’t just a meal — it was a celebration. I discovered this restaurant through a YouTube video by a local guide and saved it as a place to try for authentic local food. Unfortunately, my visit didn’t quite meet my expectations. I ordered the Portion Döner, but the meat and fried potatoes seemed like it had been sitting for a while - it was dry. I’m actually glad I didn’t go for the Iskender kebab, since it likely would’ve used the same meat. On the positive side, the portion size was generous, and the sides and fresh salad were good. The service was attentive, so no complaints there. I didn’t get to try other dishes, but it might still be worth giving the restaurant a shot

With 12 locations across the city, this long-standing establishment is famous for its delectable Turkish sweets, including baklava, lokum, and kunefe. Probably the best Baklava I have tasted in my life. Freshly made everyday and and a wide variety to choose from as well as other pastries and desserts. Hafiz Mustafa really gives a luxurious dessert experience. We tried their kunafa and it was absolutely amazing, rich, perfectly sweet, and made just right. The presentation and atmosphere add to the charm. Yes, the prices are a bit higher compared to other dessert spots, but they truly live up to the hype. Hafiz Mustafa Sirkeci branch it truly stands out because of its amazing location and view overlooking the historic Sirkeci tram station. The place is always busy, which says a lot about its popularity. Prices have definitely gone up recently higher than average but honestly, the quality and flavor are still worth it. The Pistachio Trilece and Pistachio Kunafa are absolutely outstanding, rich in taste and perfectly balanced in sweetness. The café itself is beautifully designed with two floors, offering cozy seating and a warm atmosphere whether you’re there for a quick dessert or a relaxing break. I highly recommend Sirin for her kind service and wish her the best. We ordered Pistachio milk cake, fig milk pudding and Antolia coffee. The total we paid was ₺910.00.

A sweet end to the evening. After wandering Istanbul by night, there was only one place left to go. Hafız Mustafa has been a name in sweets for over 150 years, its windows stacked high with syrup-soaked temptations. Inside, the display runs the gamut of Turkish desserts – all pristine, all a little too uniform, hinting at the scale of operation. I had my doubts. But tradition won out: fırın sütlaç, the baked rice pudding. Creamy, lightly sweet, kissed with salt and spice, and capped with the bitter edge of oven caramelisation – it was flawless. Paired with a glass of çay and a view over the restless city, it felt like the perfect close to a day in Istanbul. ⭐ 10/10 – they got the classic right.

The menu changes with the seasons, featuring specialties like a springtime meat stew cooked with unripe green plums.
Absolutely loved my experience at Çiya Sofrası! The food was incredible - fresh, flavorful, and full of variety - and the service was just as impressive: warm, attentive, and welcoming. I didn’t go during peak hours, which made it even more enjoyable to savor everything at a relaxed pace. Truly one of the best meals I’ve had in Istanbul. Can’t wait to come back!

The food is definitely the best part of Çiya. I found the service to be pleasant for the most part but there was a girl working there who kept smirking and was obviously talking about me in Turkish to her colleague which felt quite unprofessional and immature. It’s great that they serve such a broad range of regional dishes and showcase that Turkish food is about far more than kebabs and pide. I highly recommend the stewed aubergine with tomato, it’s truly gorgeous. Best to go in a group as Turkish food is definitely meant for sharing! Eating alone is not easy when it comes to portions, however they kindly served half portions in my case.

One of the best Turkish food I’ve had in the last week! The chicken thigh kebab was juicy and yet char grilled with excellent flavours! The lamb casserole in tomato base sauce was soft and tender, the aubergine and minced meat kebab was to die for! They served us complimentary Turkish tea at the end of the meal!

Really great kebab spot! The place is super clean and has a nice atmosphere. Service was fast and friendly, and the food came out fresh. The meat was juicy, tender, and full of flavor — everything was perfect. A bit pricy, but still totally worth it. Definitely recommend if you’re craving good kebabs in Istanbul!

Great spot for Turkish food at a fair price. The menu focuses on classic kebabs and mezes, all made with fresh ingredients and served in generous portions. The laid back outdoor seating makes it perfect for a relaxed meal. I had the Acılı Kıyma Kebap (625 lira) and Ayran (80 lira) not a bad price for a tasty dinner. Highly recommend if you want authentic flavours without spending too much.

Don’t know what the hype is about this place. The only food that’s decent was the soup. We ordered Kofte and lamb with green beans. Only got three tiny pieces of lamb and a whole damn bowl of beans. Paid 450 lira for that bowl of beans 🫠😵‍💫 No thanks.
Nichole L — Google review
Went because of the hype the Netflix show Chefs Table caused and I had a great experience. The food was very savory. It was unique flavors I had never tasted before and was not what I was expecting. The baklava was the best I have ever tasted. It was very flaky and melted in my mouth. Our host was very hospitable and kind and explained this entire menu to us. I will eat there again when I visit Istanbul.

It feels like you are eating Home. I had the okra lamb and it was very good , my only remark is that the méat portion inside was not that much and a Little bit under seasoned Also had vegeterian bulgur balls and the aubergine and they were Yummy !

Nestled in Istanbul, Hanzade Terrace Restaurant offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere with a panoramic view. This family-owned eatery boasts an intimate setting with only 7 tables, where guests can enjoy generous portions of seafood, meat, or vegan dishes paired with excellent wine at reasonable prices. The restaurant's terrace provides a romantic backdrop for candlelit dinners under the stars, complemented by captivating views of the city skyline and surrounding nature.
We came across this restaurant by chance, and it turned out to be a happy surprise. The restaurant has a rooftop with a beautiful view. The most delicious bread we’ve had in Istanbul. Fresh, tasty food. But most of all, the staff is truly wonderful. If you are welcomed by Gulya, your lunch or dinner will be delightful. She made our evening very enjoyable. Highly recommended.

I ate here with friends. We had 2 shrimps appetizers and 4 grilled fishes. The shrimps were good but I was expecting a stronger taste. The “bread” and the fishes were really perfect! The staff was very kind and they also offered us dessert and apple tea to end the meal. Everything was less than 30€ per person. The view is awsome and at sunset is a must. Definitely recommend.

All good eats for me. From the seasoned flat bread pieces, hot vegetable appetizer, and the entrée (ground lamb kebab) all were very tasty and served hot. The menu is reasonably priced by comparison. Our waitress was attentive and warm, as we comfortably worked through the language barrier. We got a baked desert and tea served on the house. The views on one side over look the Bosphorus straight. The decor is quaint in a smaller space. I suggest having cash. The credit card system wasn't working well for us. I recommend this place

This restaurant is truly a delightful surprise! The environment is beautiful, with stunning views outside the window that make you feel as if you are in a painting. The waiters are warm and attentive, taking care of every detail and making the whole experience very comfortable. The dishes are also exceptional—beautifully presented, rich in flavor, and so delicious that you just can’t stop eating. Whether it’s the atmosphere, the service, or the food, everything adds up to a perfect dining experience.

Amazing food, large portions, very attentive and friendly staff, and stuning views of the Murmur sea. We ordered an assortment meat plate and iskender kebab for a company of three. It would have actually served a party of hungry five. Absolutely the best grilled meat we have tried in Istanbul so far. And, in the end, we were offered a complimentary dessert. Mehmet was amazing and helpful.

After reading the wonderful reviews, we decided to choose this restaurant for our dinner. The restaurant was on the fourth floor with an amazing view of Bosphorus. It was worth the walk uphill and staris. We had a mix grilled meat and it was flavorful. We enjoyed the hot tea and dessert on the house. Thanks!

It would be really hard to pick one particular restaurant in Istanbul that didn’t meet our expectations. This restaurant is no different. It was up the hill from where we were staying and had an amazing view of the city. Even going for dinner we were able to see a lot and enjoy the atmosphere. The restaurant is very clean and the staff is extremely friendly and patient due to our language barrier. We were able to get what we wanted and the food was very good. We were never rushed at any point and the staff made suggestions on other things to see in the area and foods to try this restaurant is upstairs from a hotel. Just in case you happen to see my review of the place we stayed at in Istanbul. I would suggest trying to stay in this hotel or something in this area. It is perfectly located and within walking distance of all major tourist attractions. There are great shops in the area and the street has a great feel overall. We walked everywhere in Istanbul and never felt concerns for our safety. Everybody is so kind and polite. It was really a pleasure to visit. Thank you all for making such an impact on our visit and we sincerely appreciate your kindness.

Absolutely amazing experience. The view is absolutely incredible. We are staying at AJWA Sultanahmet, if you are also staying there it’s a short 2 minute walk from there. Absolutely stunning views of the bosphorus. The food is good too, I’d recommend the chicken (seems to be their speciality). Wish we discovered this place from day 1 of our trip to beautiful Türkiye!

Located in a bustling passageway, Şehzade Cağ Kebap is known for its unique method of preparing horizontally cooked kebabs. The chef's Ottoman style and careful approach to cooking over a wood-fired oven add to the experience. The meat, tender and dripping with fat, is served on skewers cut from the horizontal doner, distinguishing it from other kebab places that use vertical cooking methods.
Speedy service and great food. A bit pricey but I thoroughly enjoyed the chow. Small menu so we opted for the wrap and the soup. Both were tasty but hands down to the wrap which in it's simplicity is so good. The meat speaks for itself and the char and smokiness comes through nicely. Loved it!

Epic! One of the best kebabs I've ever had, maybe even the best. For sure the best in istanbul. One of few places that i keep going back to instead of trying new places. Rice isn't any good just get the kebab with bread. Small portions for adults, you'll have to order more. Service and seating area isnt great. Go for the food but watch out and check your bill before paying! They casually twice got my total wrong!

We found this place by accident. My spouse liked how the meat looked on the spit so we sat down, and then the crowds came. Poor guy across the street selling the same thing had zero business, has been in business longer according to their signs, and had his employees sit at the tables to try and draw in business. It didn't work the entire time we were eating. ATMOSPHERE: The tiny restaurant has covered sidewalk seating only and is great for people watching. They're located near the spice market. We did have a peddler with her child come up to the tables asking for money while she played the accordion. MENU: Kebabs! FOOD: Red Bean Lentil Soup It was orange in color and tasted very good. A medium savory with a nice amount of lentils and more soup, not too thick either. Lamb Cag Kebab The cag style of kebab is an old school way of cooking the meat horizontally on the spit rather than vertically. Well it was THE BEST we've had in Istanbul! Super tender and tons of natural flavor. It came with sides of yogurt, spicy couscous and lava, which we made into a burrito and devoured it. SERVICE: All the guys were friendly and food delivery was quick. OVERALL: Excellent food, normal prices. They even won an award on Trip Advisor!

Delicious food and truly authentic vibes. I’ve been here several times and tried other in Hoca Pasa. This one stands out by far. Best flavor, minimal wait, and great service. It’s lively and a bit noisy, but still totally fine for conversation. The energy adds to the charm rather than distracting from it. A place that feels alive without crossing into chaos. Good balance between buzz and comfort.Highly recommended for anyone craving real taste and atmosphere.

There was a line by 7pm very popular but moved quite quick. Everyone knows to eat and go. I got 2 portions of the lamb. It was delicious, flavourful and fresh! I could have eaten a 3rd portion. Also people around me got extras. The ingredients are fresh and their spicy condiment is delicious.
Aaron L — Google review
Tucked into a narrow alley just south-west of Sirkeci station, this modest eatery holds a reputation that far outstrips its size. The set-up is simple: a few tables outside, an upstairs and downstairs inside, and one thing only on the menu – cağ kebap. Unlike its more common döner cousin, this Erzurum speciality is roasted horizontally on a spit. From my seat, I could watch the usta carve generous slices, their aroma filling the small dining room and drifting out onto Hocapaşa Sokak. The ritual is as much part of the meal as the food itself. Flatbread, chili paste, crisp salad, and thick buffalo yoghurt arrive alongside the kebap. I did the dürüm thing – layering, rolling, biting in – and suddenly everything made sense. The cool salad checked the heat of the paste, the yoghurt softened the spice, and the kebap itself, tender and perfectly seasoned, sang through it all. I raised my hand for another portion without hesitation. It was a complete harmony of flavour, the kind of meal that makes you stop and simply smile. A perfect 10/10.

Very popular spot, there was a line by 6:30 pm but it moved fast. I had lentil soup, the lamb was fresh, flavorful, and delicious, with a great spicy condiment, fresh salad & Muhamara. Enjoyed the meal.

Best kebab I've ever had, the meat was so juicy, could have had 2 or 3. It was feels very legit in there, the waiters are working at double speed. They bring you a range of salads and dips to choose from when you make the order. I had the kebab wrap, there's also the choice of having them as skewers with the wrap separate, basically the same meal just in different forms. There was also a mukbang happening while we were there.

Guney Restaurant is a laid-back dining spot offering classic Turkish cuisine with a bar and stunning views of the Galata Tower. Despite its location in a touristy area, it surprises visitors with its authentic and delicious dishes. The small tables create a charming bistro-like atmosphere reminiscent of Paris. The staff is known for their politeness and efficiency, ensuring a great dining experience. Whether you choose to sit inside or outside, the restaurant offers warmth and comfort along with delectable food.
Wanted a late breakfast on a Tuesday after visiting the Galata tower and this came up as a well-rated option. It allowed us to experience what seemed like normal Turkish breakfast options and we enjoyed the food and drinks. Was also a fun people watching location since quite close to the tower (but not right next to it so don’t feel like other tourists were right on top of you as you ate).

Great spot with a nice atmosphere and kind service. The salad was fresh and delicious, and the egg omelets were well-prepared and tasty. If you’re Mexican or just enjoy a bit of extra flavor, order a side of Muhammara - it’s not spicy, but adds a perfect saucy touch. Definitely worth a visit.
Arne R — Google review
We had dinner at this restaurant near the Galata Tower and really enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere was lovely – with some background music that wasn’t too loud – and the outdoor seating area was beautiful, with a nice view of the tower. Even though the restaurant is located in a very touristic area, the prices were quite reasonable. The food was much better than we expected given the location – in fact, it was delicious. The service was also excellent: the staff were kind, attentive, and welcoming throughout our visit. Overall, it’s a great spot with good food, a pleasant atmosphere, and a fantastic location right by Galata Tower. Definitely worth a visit!

The street was so charming, and the San Sebastian dessert was quite nice too. The atmosphere was peaceful, and we had such a pleasant time chatting. There is no shortage of good things to say about this place. Every time this week we went here it was perfect. The food is amazing. Dishes we tried included, pancakes, crepes, Turkish coffee, Turkish tee, tangerine lemonade, schnitzel, GRILLED HALLOUMI CHEESE SALAD, ARMUT SALATASI, GRILLED CHICKEN BREAST WITH THYME, chicken cutlet, KEBAB WİTH YOGHURT, and apple tea. It was all amazing and we could not believe how inexpensive everything was. The vegetables and fruit were so fresh. Over the past 3 weeks we have traveled to Istanbul, Venice, Bologna, London, San Marino, Budapest, and Verona. We have eaten at over 75 restaurants, cafes, and little shops. This was a top 3 without a doubt. Highly recommend!

Absolutely the best cheesecake I've ever had (the classic San Sebastian cheesecake near Galata Tower). The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and quick (we were served by Bahtiyar), the prices were reasonable for a touristic spot, and the location couldn't be better – right beneath the tower. Highly recommended.

Lovely rooftop spot with a stunning view and super comfy terrace. Most tables needed a reservation, but the staff kindly let us stay without one. Really warm and welcoming. The food was delicious and varied. If we were in Istanbul longer, we’d definitely come back!

I mainly wanted to visit for the rooftop views and a friend came across this restaurant… what a find. First of all, the views are absolutely spectacular, especially at sunset (definitely the best time to go). We had an incredible platter of Turkish food that was both delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were incredibly welcoming, showing true hospitality. A perfect spot for great food with a view 😊

I am so disappointed after the hype & visit. The terrace was empty I had requested the waiter to seat with the VIEW Big table as there is no one on the terrace and gives a better view. He refused and let us seat on a corner (worst table). Come to the food, Price is expensive compared with the quality and portion. The bread was 1 hr old and felt like rubber disgusting. Food portion was okay. Think before you visit and expense your money. FOR THE OWNER PLEASE TRAINE YOUR STAFF and don't serve cold food to the people who comes from thousands miles away.

Dürümzade is a renowned small restaurant in Istanbul, known for serving the best kebabs and durums in the city. The late Anthony Bourdain praised this hole-in-the-wall venue, highlighting its signature lamb and beef wraps as must-tries. The kebabs are grilled over charcoal and wrapped in slightly charred flatbread with sumac, herb-sprinkled onions, tomatoes, and green peppers.
Very good kebab, only had a beef Adana kebab, was very good. Can taste the Smoke from the coals. Cooked fresh to order. Bread was good, service and hospitality good. Is busy and can be a wait but if you’re going for a wrap you could stand, defo recommend a visit.
Sunny S — Google review
This review is only about Adana kabab. Due to the hype I wanted to try Adana kabab wrap. Did NOT live up to the hype and fell way short. Probably students like it as they haven't had better food and the wrap size is good but that's mostly bread. My criteria of solid food is, if I would go back for this food? Answer is NO. And if Anthony Bourdain gave his recommendation on this taste, he must be smoking something good 😊 jk. Service friendly and fast. Tiny place with 3tables inside and make 2 outside. I would say try it and decide for yourself, it's not for me though.
Khana S — Google review
Worth the hype, worth the trek, and definitely worth visiting! Obviously came because of the references to Anthony Bourdain and his review and it lived up to Sir Anthony and all its glory. The Adana doner and lamb doner were so good and flavorful! The meats were juicy and moist while the wrap was perfectly balanced with flavors and toppings. 10/10! So good we ordered more to take back on our cruise!
Nhu P — Google review
Came here twice during our stay in Istanbul as having the Adana wrap only once wasn’t enough, great price and full of flavour. Anthony Bourdain recommended and he was so correct with this one.
Rachel R — Google review
First of all, the dürüm was really tasty—no doubt about that. The only thing is, once a local spot gets hyped on social media, it changes a bit. When I was there, most of the visitors were tourists, many even wearing local football shirts, and the price ended up being about double compared to other places in town. So yes, it’s definitely a good dürüm, but my tip would be to also explore and find your own favorite spot in the city—and maybe keep it off social media so it stays authentic.
Oliver H — Google review
Tried this spot since seeing Antony bourdain recommended it! The Adana wrap was probably the best we tried in Istanbul nice charcoal flavour with tender juicy meat. If you are in the area would definitely recommend trying this. The place is quite small few little tables inside and outside and could do with a refurb. Overall good value enjoyed the food.

Sultanahmet Ottoman Terrace Fish House is a renowned restaurant in Istanbul offering stunning views of the Bosphorus and serving delectable fresh seafood. The attentive staff provides insights into the locally caught fish options and offers recommendations.
This restaurant was a last minute unplanned visit. It was relatively easy place to find. The last step up into the actual terrace restaurant was higher and more steep to other steps, so be careful going up and down there. The restaurant was nice and bright, well decorated, clean and neat. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming from the first moment. There is a sea view from where we were seated. Tuğra Restaurant offers a unique dining experience with its historical ambiance and waterfront terrace. Located on the top floor of the Ciragan Palace at the Ciragan Palace Kempinski hotel, it provides a glimpse into the culinary world of the Ottoman Empire. The restaurant's majestic atmosphere is complemented by stunning views of the Bosphorus. Diners can savor dishes inspired by the cuisine of Ottoman Sultans while surrounded by marble columns and intricate paintings.
A culinary journey at Tuğra Restaurant As part of our stay at the Ciragan Palace, we had the pleasure of dining at Tuğra Restaurant—an experience that was as memorable as the palace itself. The seven-course tasting menu was a refined and imaginative interpretation of Turkish cuisine, masterfully balancing tradition and innovation in each dish. Every course felt carefully considered and perfectly executed. The presentation was elegant and thought through. Service at Tuğra was impeccable—professional, knowledgeable, and delivered with genuine warmth. The setting, with its regal ambiance and views over the Bosphorus, created a truly special atmosphere. Dining in such a historic and beautiful location made the evening feel even more extraordinary. Tuğra is without question among the finest restaurants we’ve visited in Istanbul. It certainly wouldn’t be out of place among Michelin-starred venues. An unforgettable evening of culinary excellence. Highly recommended.

Exceptional restaurant within a palace. You had me at palace. The attentiveness of the staff was otherworldly, but the tasting menu, catered to vegetarian dishes was mildly lack luster. There was no difference in price for the veggie minded enthusiasts which was disappointing. The chef did go beyond in trying to remedy the already fixed menu though. Each portion was artfully presented and enjoyed. Overall the atmosphere was mildly stuffy. It’s an exceptionally beautiful space and we were lucky to have a stunning view of the Bosporus. Other tasting menus blew this one out of the park though, hence the missing star. But if you are looking for the experience and the impeccable history of the establishment.

An unforgettable experience in a stunning setting. The food at Tuğra was refined, flavorful, and clearly prepared with great care. The service was outstanding from start to finish – attentive, friendly, and professional. The restaurant itself is beautifully designed, with a unique atmosphere and a breathtaking view that adds to the entire experience. One small downside: after an extensive (and pricey) meal, they charge €10 for a cup of tea or coffee. In a restaurant of this level, you would expect that to be complimentary or offered as a gesture of hospitality. It feels a bit out of place in such a luxurious environment. That said, it’s definitely worth a visit and highly recommended for anyone looking for a special culinary evening in Istanbul.

This restaurant is inside a breathtaking palace. The location and the experience there are totally worthy of the price tag. The service, ambiance, staff, music, and privacy of each table, all of it is perfect. The food itself has a high quality of products. However, the flavors were too far from my preferred palette. So I couldn't really eat and enjoy the taste of the food (signature lamb dish). I understand that's a personal preference. Just for the experience, I totally recommend it.

Vefa Bozacisi is a renowned establishment that has become synonymous with the traditional Turkish drink, Boza. This fermented beverage, made from grains like millet, barley, wheat, or corn, holds a special place in Turkish culinary heritage. The thick and slightly sour drink is particularly popular during the winter months and is often served with cinnamon and roasted chickpeas on top. Dating back to the times of the sultans, boza's unique flavor has made it a favorite among locals.
A trip to Istanbul isn't complete without a visit to Vefa Bozacısı in Fatih, a legendary spot famous for its boza, a unique fermented drink. Even if you're not a fan, it's an experience everyone should have. It is a must-visit spot, always bustling with locals and tourists alike. The boza itself is a thick, tangy drink, which is usually served with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top. For an even better taste, you can get some roasted chickpeas, or leblebi, from a nearby shop to sprinkle on top. While I personally didn't love the drink, I'm glad I tried it. The atmosphere of the place is fantastic, and it's clear why it's a popular spot. Even though it's always crowded, the experience is worth it.

✨ Vefa Bozacısı – a must-visit in Istanbul for boza 🍶. We tried both boza and şarap 🍷. Boza was a unique experience, but I personally loved the şarap even more. The atmosphere is amazing 🕰️ — old, authentic, and full of history. They even have a symbolic glass linked to Atatürk’s visit 🇹🇷, which makes the place feel extra special. Loved the overall vibe 🙌
Sona H — Google review
I visited Vefa Bozacısı and had their famous boza. I paired it with roasted chickpeas from the shop across the street, which made the experience even more enjoyable. A simple but classic treat that’s a must-try in Istanbul.
Yagmur I — Google review
Wow, this was the most pleasant surprise for us in Istanbul. We went specifically to try boza out in this iconic place after hearing a lot about it. We weren't sure what to expect as some people said they didn't like boza. However, we absolutely loved it. It was very thick and creamy with texture reminiscent of salep but more sweet and sour, add the roasted chickpeas to that and ur good to go. We really liked it cold and the place itself was very cosy, and beautifully decorated eith the special glass Ataturk used to have boza well preserved there. It is a very unique "drink" in a very special place.
Sam A — Google review
I visited this place but there is no English menu. I ordered the only desert which is served here and I couldn’t find out what is it. But I searched and I share it for others to understand what it is: Boza is a fermented drink made from cracked wheat, sugar, yeast, and water. Its taste is slightly sour and sweet, and it has a thick, creamy texture. Boza is popular in Turkey, especially on cold winter nights, due to its high nutritional value and energy-giving properties.

The drink was delicious~ I’ll be honest I didn’t like when I bought from the store, the fresh one is better fellas^^ also they had a special guest after a long time ago! The best leader~~
Sukii — Google review
Vefa Bozacısı serves high-quality, authentic Turkish boza—a traditional drink with deep cultural roots. While there’s some debate about whether it contains trace amounts of alcohol, what truly matters is its unique, rich taste, which makes it well worth trying. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience a true taste of Istanbul. Bonus tip: For a literary companion, Nobel Prize winner Orhan Pamuk’s 'A Strangeness in My Mind' beautifully captures Istanbul’s recent past through the life of a boza street seller. The story’s hero, Mevlut, even buys raw boza from Vefa Bozacısı itself—a wonderful detail that connects the book to this very place. It’s a novel not to be missed (see the cover photo among the images I attached).

The first time I tried something like this, it had an intriguing taste, I would definitely drink it again if I had the chance. I was lucky that there was a guide at the location who was telling a group the history of the place and the drink

Perched atop the Lady Diana Hotel in Fatih, GRACE Rooftop Restaurant offers unparalleled views of the Marmara Sea and cityscape. With two levels, including a glass-encased floor for colder months and an open-air terrace, diners can enjoy stunning vistas of the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque while indulging in a diverse menu of international cuisine and local wines.
We had an absolutely wonderful time at Grace Rooftop! As a couple, this was one of the most memorable dining experiences we’ve had in Istanbul. The ambiance was perfect, with a stunning rooftop view that added to the whole experience. The food was incredible — starting with a delicious appetizer that really set the tone. Every main course we tried was cooked to perfection, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. After dinner, we enjoyed some cocktails which were just as impressive. What truly stood out was the exceptional service. The staff were warm, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome throughout the evening. It’s rare to find a place where everything — food, drinks, atmosphere, and service — hits the mark. Highly recommended. Grace Rooftop is a 10/10 and an absolute must-visit in Istanbul!

The Turkish Kebab (for two) was so delicious! The view is truly amazing here and the service was amazing (very foreigner friendly). They gave us complimentary bread and Turkish tea and coffee which was so sweet of them. We asked our if we could be seated at recently empty table by the window and she made sure to clean it so we could move there. I highly recommend! Gizem was so sweet :) they also have free ottoman costumes to try on!

I had a very wonderful evening at this rooftop bar. The drinks were carefully curated to my alcohol tolerance levels. The waiters and Waitresses were absolutely phenomenal. Best of all, the view of the city's landscape was marvelous especially during twilight. A must visit in Istanbul.

What a fantastic experience! From the moment we walked in, everything just felt right. The food was delicious: every dish perfectly prepared and presented with great care and flavor. The view was absolutely phenomenal. But what truly made the evening special were the waiters: incredibly friendly and attentive. A special mention for our waiter Furkan: his professionalism and attention to detail made the evening unforgettable. A restaurant where everything comes together: food, ambiance, and service. Highly recommended, we’ll definitely be coming back!

My husband and i had the big breakfast spread for two people. It was more than enough food, fresh and tasty. We were unable to finish it. Service was polite and professional. We did feel it was over priced, and we were charged more than what the menu says, so i think they added a tax charge, so be weary, however, the view was spectacular.

If you're looking for a breathtaking view in Istanbul, Grace Rooftop is the place to be. We went on a sunny afternoon and were rewarded with a stunning sunset over the city. The service was excellent; the staff were attentive and friendly, making for a nice dining experience. However, the food didn't live up to the spectacular setting. While the prices are on the higher side, the dishes were just okay, not bad, but not memorable either. Ultimately, the incredible scenery and a great cocktail were the highlights of the evening.
Carl E — Google review
This restaurant has an amazing view and the ratings are really good, which was why I booked it. And it did not disappoint! I booked in advance and our table was in a great spot for the AMAZING view of the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. The service was great, everyone was really friendly and extremely attentive. All the dishes were delicious. It is a pricy restaurant, but we were celebrating my husband's birthday and it was well worth it!
Rachma H — Google review
The atmosphere, staff and vibes here are well worth the price. We actually struggled to find flavourful food our first few days in Istanbul, and this made us very happy. The wait staff were very kind and attentive. Make sure to check out the roof top - they even have a dress up section. The spa downstairs is also incredible we’ve had wonderful experiences at the hotel (and we weren’t even staying there) just kept coming back for the services !

Halil Lahmacun in Kadikoy is a renowned and long-standing establishment, known for serving some of the mildest lahmacun in town. The restaurant has been around for 35 years and is a favorite among locals. They offer a unique dining experience where customers can customize their lahmacun with greens and spices to their liking before enjoying it as a wrap. In addition to their signature dish, Halil Lahmacun also serves homemade ayran and cheese pita.
If you want to try great traditional lahmacun, Halil is a must for a quick bite. There is a reason there is only a few things on the menu. Lahmacun is basically a very thin style pizza that you put parsley and lemon on, roll it up and enjoy! Halil is an institution on the asian side area of Kadıköy in Istanbul. Many lahmacun are very oily and heavy. Halil's lahmacun is light and makes it easy to devour a few. I recommend the spicy option. Its not that hot, just gives a better flavour. The kunefe dessert is also quite good. You won't be dissapointed and its great value for money. You can eat a few great traditional turkish delicacies in just 30 minutes. A must for everyone's Istanbul bucket list 😋
Ioannis K — Google review
A must try place for lahmacun. You have to try lahmacun as a dish if you are in Istanbul. Found this one pretty nice freshly made and nice flat bread with minced meat on it. Love the taste and also with ayran.
Richa T — Google review
This restaurant has only two choices on the menu; Lahmacun and Cheese Pide. We ordered both, but we liked the Lahmacun better. There are no side dishes other than parsley and lemon. The restaurant is small with limited outdoor seating.
Ahmed A — Google review
Good and simple food. The restaurant has only two options in the menu and just a few tables outside, so if you’re looking for variety this is not the best option for you. We liked a lot what we ate, the staff didn’t talk much but they were polite. Overall was a very good experience! And the price is really fair. 🙏
Giovanna A — Google review
Very few dishes on the menu but what they have tastes so good! Go for the lahmacun. It was one of the best (if not THE best) I had in Istanbul. If you are vegetarian, there is also an option for you (spinach/cheese pide).
Claire J — Google review
Even it seems a very small basic place but you can eat very delicious lahmacun you have ever eat. Very clean, smiling faces and normal prices.
Umran U — Google review
They don’t need you, because they have enough customers with their historical(?) self consciousness. And they are right, if they would declaim theirselves as “the best light lahmacun” oven. And they are just “light” not cheap.
Zafer T — Google review
Apparently one the best places to eat Lahmacum in Istanbul nothing particularly special although the lahmacum and the cheese pide a wafer thin crust pizza type thing were both cooked to order straight out of the oven the moment I entered the guy thrust a English menu of the two options both 110 TL And asked me what I wanted to drink pot of 300ml Ayran was a bit steep at 50TL a third that at supermarket 😂 Anyway wasn't really worth the effort sadly At best a light snack not really going to fill you up for just over £6

Im gonna be honest, im a chef and i research before i go and eat somewhere. We decided to visit this restaurant after seeing its positive reviews and we didn’t regret. The place is on the 4th floor of the building. When we saw a queue (we had to wait to be seated for less than 10 min), we realised that it was a popular place. There were bith local and international customers dining inside. The staff members were very friendly and attentive (especially the older guy) and the food was very nice (the meat in the photo was very juicy and tasty). Everything was clean and fresh. Thank you for your hospitality ❤️
Farida M — Google review
I found this place from social media and tried it after a short while. First of all, people are kind and service is rapid. We took mezze platter, beyti kebab and tepsi kebab. Beyti was tasty but the portion was small. Sini kebab was ordinary and unfortunately I found 3-4 little pieces of cartilage in the meat. I would rate mezze platter 5/10, the tastes were not the best. Especially your hummus should have been better. The prices are in between high to reasonable. We stayed around 10 mins on the waiting queue before being seated, it is not a long waiting time. It is more of a place you eat and leave, you can’t pass the whole dinner over there while many people are waiting on the queue. I did not give three stars in purpose, hoping that you will improve yourself and you should if you really care about the reviews.

This is a popular restaurant serving all day breakfast along Bakraç Sk. in the Beyoğlu neighbourhood. They are open from 6am to 6pm daily and have a large indoor and outdoor seating area. The Turkish Breakfast is a popular choice for many here but they have a wide range of a la carte breakfast items as well. We tried borek, vegan pide and menemen dishes which were all pretty good. Coffee was also nice at Sa Va. Service friendly and timely, prices ok for the portion sizes and quality of dishes brought to the table.

The breakfast was really delicious and varied we had all kinds of dips, which to be honest we didnt like alot of them especially cheese dips were bit strong for us but everything else was so good. The kuymak and orange juice were extra they're not included in the breakfast. We had unlimited tea refills also. Service was absolutely good. Breakfast was for 1600 lira i guess, which is bit overpriced still but for one time experience its nice

The best menemen! Served in a unfussy environment with very quick service, my food arrived piping hot with less than 5 minutes of ordering! And it was absolutely delicious, (menemen with fried meat and extra cheese). What I also like that they have chilli flakes which I was so happy to see because not all restaurants have that option but they do here and it elevates the tastiness so much. The service is friendly too.

I have been thinking about this restaurant a lot after trying it. It was a late breakfast with my girlfriend on a hot sunny day, we were welcomed by the staff with some free fresh bread loaf. The kaymak cream & honey was the most delicious dip i had in 2025. The chicken soup was just perfect and reminded me of home and the days when I was still young and innocent. My gf ordered the tomato omelette and fould never shut up about it for the rest of the day. Overall good experience.

Great flavours! Generous portions. I tried menemen with Turkish sausage and cheese. It was so good! It tastes moderately salty (this is a compliment, as I find most of the food I had here much saltier than Asian side).

Breakfast, a ritual for most, Istanbul is no exception. Try the cream with honey and the eggs/tomatoes with sausage. I liked the cream and honey better, it was unique tasting. Finish with a Turkish tea.

As has been the trend lately, the word "Ottoman" is placed in front of everything. I also tried Ottoman meatballs and tamarind sherbet. It was served on pita bread, with a little rice and tomatoes and peppers on the side. The meatballs have a soft texture and are easy to eat, but I couldn't find what I was looking for in terms of taste. I'd say it's okay in terms of quantity. Unfortunately, the sherbet was weak. I found it quite sour. The sherbet I had tasted elsewhere before was lacking flavor. The owner and waiters are very kind people. The location is easy. Yeri kolay.

If you're seeking an authentic Turkish breakfast experience, look no further than Namlı Gurme. With a rich history spanning over 40 years, this beloved establishment is particularly renowned for its pastirma, or cured beef, which can be enjoyed with fried eggs or on its own.
We loved this place so much, we had to come back again the next morning! Hands down one of the best breakfast experiences we’ve had on our trip. The salads were incredibly fresh – crisp, vibrant, and full of flavor. It’s rare to find such healthy options that are also so satisfying. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared with top-quality ingredients, and you can really taste the difference. The coffee was absolutely delicious – smooth, rich, and exactly what you need to start your day right. And the service? Impeccable. Warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without being overbearing. This spot hits that perfect balance of wholesome, tasty food and a relaxed, feel-good atmosphere. We left both mornings feeling refreshed, well-fed, and happy. Highly recommend – it’s the kind of place you’ll wish you had back home!

Wavered between 4 and 5. Food was good, got the Pide with mixed meat, but a bit heavy. Place was crowded when I went and still the service was good. Liked the store, would have bought some cheese if I had a way to bring it back home.

This is a very interesting supermarket/ restaurant for gurme food. Actually we didn’t eat here but we bought some groceries. The lady at the cashier was very friendly and helpful. I was surprised by the variety of cheeses and cold cuts on display. Some high quality food products are really expensive.

Perfect place for a delicious and atleast what I considered a reasonably priced meal. Had a bunch of mezes and cheese dishes with the highlights being the hot halumi and the dolma. Did not order any of the hot dishes pr deserts as we were quite full from the mezes and bread. Sit outside if you want to people watch (a fair few people smoke in the outside area) or sit inside where you can enjoy the Aircon and watch the organised chaos in action. We will probably be back for another meal in a day or two.

Agood brunch restaurant for breakfast you can order from menu but they prefer to order your food by yourself from inside as you can chose the cheese or olives by the quantity you want , the cheese is excellent and eggs with bastrma and also shakshoka but I didn’t like borike from themas I tasted mire better from other places, the pricese i felt little high as i felt it cost 800 Tl for person as we paid 2600 Tl all

I’ve tried this place a couple of times, and it’s simply the best lunch option. With over 100 years of history in the heart of Istanbul, it has become a true classic. I don’t even bother looking at the menu—I head straight to the counter and order my starters. With some fresh bread on the table, I always end up having a wonderful time.

Namlı Breakfast in Galataport, Istanbul, is truly an exceptional place for a perfect breakfast experience. The restaurant is elegant, beautifully designed, and offers a refined atmosphere that makes your morning feel special from the very start. The food is absolutely delicious — everything is fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The variety on the menu is impressive, catering to all tastes with high-quality ingredients and authentic Turkish flavors. The service is excellent as well. The waiters are friendly, cheerful, and very attentive to every detail. A special thanks to Ismail and Dursun, who made our experience even better with their kindness and professionalism. Their welcoming attitude and genuine hospitality truly stood out. In summary, Namlı Breakfast is a must-visit spot in Istanbul. It combines a luxurious atmosphere, great service, and amazing food — a perfect place to start your day. Highly recommended! Rating: 10/10

We went there to have breakfast since we are living for a few days in the neighborhood around. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I loved their orange juice. It was on point. Their pancakes were so delicious. The menemen they served was good tasting. The eggy bread breakfast was yummy, especially the red sauce. It was a beautiful experience. Keep up the good work.

As a local who doesn’t live in Turkey anymore, Kuff Cafe is one of those special places I always make time to visit whenever i’m back in town . It holds such a comforting vibe that instantly makes you feel grounded like nothing has changed , in the best way possible. The atmosphere is super easy going and relaxed, without any of that rushed or overly trendy. Whether you’re there for a slow morning coffee or a proper breakfast with friends, it’s the kind of spot that welcomes you just as you are . Their breakfast is absolutely delicious simple, fresh, and made with love. You can tell they care about quality without overcomplicating things . The prices are also really fair, which makes it even better. In a world where everything feels like it’s getting more expensive, Kuff is refreshingly honest and down to earth. What I love most is that the people there are kind and genuine. The staff always greet you with a smile, and there’s a real sense of community that’s hard to find. Even though I’ve moved away, Kuff remains one of my favorite places . It’s a quiet little gem that always feels like home. If you haven’t been yet, don’t miss it you might find yourself coming back, just like I do.

I was genuinely excited to take my friends, who were visiting me in Turkey, to experience a real Turkish breakfast — the kind that makes you slow down, share everything, and feel at home. Back when I lived in Kadıköy, this place used to be my go-to. It had charm, warmth, and that unmistakable sense of Turkish hospitality — endless tea, fresh flavors, and calm Sunday energy. I wanted my friends to feel that magic too. But when we arrived this time, it just didn’t feel right. The music was too loud, the atmosphere rushed, and the food — though fine — came without that care and balance that makes a breakfast truly special. It felt more like being in a crowded bar than at a morning table. My friends looked at me, politely smiling, but I could tell they were disappointed. And that broke my heart a little — because I knew Turkish breakfast deserves better. The next morning, I set the table at home myself — fresh simit, olives, cheeses, tea. That’s when they finally got it: the slow rhythm, the generosity, the soul of it all. It’s a shame this spot lost the magic it once had. I wouldn’t recommend it right now — not for anyone looking to really experience what a Turkish breakfast should feel like. I truly hope one day it finds that old spirit again.

the ethos is great, food is great, but service here is challenging. i’m happy the waiters feel relaxed but why do i always feel like i’m inconveniencing them? not only am i a guest, i’m even paying (and it isn’t cheap). it’s almost as if they’d prefer if no one came.

Gaziantep Közde Künefe Kebap Salonu is a charming restaurant that specializes in serving authentic charcoal-cooked Kunefe, a sweet pastry filled with cheese. The tempting aroma of freshly baked layers fills the air as skilled chefs work their magic, creating crispy, golden layers soaked in sweet syrup and adorned with pistachios. Visitors rave about the delicious kebabs and flavorful dishes like lamb liver and chicken wings.
This is about to be a wild take, but this was the BEST meal I had in all of Istanbul! That statement carries a lot of weight, but omg was this spot ever authentic and delicious. The Adana kebap platter was served with perfectly cooked and seasoned Adana. The lamb heart was not chewy and delicious. And the soup and hot side is salsa was spectacular. I gotta say this was the only place that has food with some heat 🌶️. The beyran is very flavorful too. It’s very unassuming but I highly recommend you give it a try. All the attention has gone to the food here and it’s exceptional. Located in a perfect spot to access by everyone too. Don’t sleep on it. Abs make sure to get the künefe, it’ll change your life.

Don’t be put off by the low key style as looks can be deceiving- especially as a first time tourist in Istanbul - but this came recommended and it did not disappoint. The food was fantastic. The Beyran soup was spicier than I expected but it was delicious. For some reason this place seemed popular with Asians who were the only diners whilst we were there.

Stumbled across this restaurant searching for Kalle Paça soup and found it here. Delicious, filling and warm. Perfect for winter days to warm you up. The soup is made up of cow head meat and it's bone broth. Also had deliciously fresh ayran, extra salty just how I prefer. Would recommend this place and definitely would come back when I'm back in Istanbul.
Maryam M — Google review
This was our first dinner in Istanbul, just down the street from our hotel, and it ended up being my favorite place to eat. I got the spicy Adana kebab and wow… it was sooo good. Perfectly spiced, with this amazing sauce, fresh bread, onions, lettuce, and bulgur on the side. The only downside is that it's near a construction site and every so often construction dust would fly through the air. I suggest you eat inside. Price was fair too, especially since it’s right in Sultanahmet. We liked it so much we came back 3 times. The owner is super nice and welcoming. Don’t miss this place.
Jamie F — Google review
Quietly amazing!! If I could give the food six stars I would. This unassuming establishment serves kebab, soup, and kunefe that sets your heart racing with excitement as you eat - it's hard to find words that capture how perfectly these dishes are executed. And the ayran deserves a special frothy mention too...just look at the photo, it's a must-try! Safe to say, no food on that table survived to see the light of day. Incredible! Will definitely circle back for another sitting!

🥘 A cozy spot in the heart of Istanbul serving authentic Gaziantep flavors. The kebabs are tasty and well-portioned. 🌍 Interestingly, most of the customers are foreign — especially Korean tourists who line up just to enjoy the traditional kelle paça (head & foot soup). 🍲 Honestly, their kelle paça is one of the best in Istanbul. The texture of the meat, spice balance, and warm serving are all perfect. 🔥 The place is simple but clean and authentic — great for both dinner and a hearty soup breakfast.

Nestled in the heart of Sultanahmet, Meşhur Sultanahmet Köftecisi is a charming eatery that has captured the hearts of locals and tourists alike. With its straightforward menu featuring just kebabs and grilled meats, along with basic soup and rice, this quaint spot draws crowds eager to savor its delicious offerings. Despite the simplicity of the setting—where intimate dining takes a backseat to great food—the atmosphere buzzes with excitement as patrons line up for a taste.
Delicious Turkish food. We were here as part of a tourist group organized by Turkish airlines. They serve kebabs, rice, bread, fasolia, ayran and the semolina desert. Not the greatest selection for vegetarians (as that part of the group received just a lentil soup). The atmosphere is great.
Joana K — Google review
Meşhur Sultanahmet Köftecisi is a historic restaurant about 145 meters from the iconic Hagia Sophia in Istanbul's Sultanahmet district. Established in 1920, it is renowned for its traditional Sultanahmet meatballs, made from carefully selected meats and grilled over an open flame to enhance the natural flavors.  Since we stepped in, we could tell this would be an authentic experience. They greeted us in a friendly manner while also being efficient. We ordered several things from the menu but focused on the traditional köfte meatballs. The menu features dishes like shish kebab, chicken shish, pilaf, soup, piyaz (bean salad), seasonal salads, and traditional Turkish desserts such as irmik helvası (semolina dessert) and Kemalpaşa tatlısı. The prices are reasonable, considering the quality and location. Given its proximity to Hagia Sophia, Meşhur Sultanahmet Köftecisi is an excellent choice for those seeking authentic Turkish cuisine in a historic setting. We highly recommend it to get an authentic experience and best köfte in town.

A simple, no-nonsense spot next the Sultanahmet tram stop that offers great value, specialising in köfte kebabs. I ordered a portion of their köfte, which was succulent and nicely spiced. The side salad and a refreshing limonata made for a well-rounded meal. Overall, I really enjoyed it and would recommend for a quick, satisfying bite.

This is an old kebab restaurant in the Sultanahmet area. They have a very small menu of less than 20 food items, yet their food is amazing. They serve lentil soup, a few salads, chicken and lamb kebabs, pickles, pilaf rice, 3 kinds of sweets, and drinks (water, coke, iced tea, juice, and tea). Their lentil soup is a must-try, and so are their kebabs. Famous people have dined at this extremely small restaurant, and there are pictures of that. Their service is quick, their staff are courteous, and they accept cash and card payment. They have a few other branches across Istanbul.

The place is opposite the famous blue mosque/Hagia Sophia and is well presented. As soon as we entered, we were welcomed by the staff speaking English and seated. The service is super quick and the staff are friendly and very hospitable. And the food is impeccable! We tried the kofte with added yoghurt, chips, and coke. This did not disappoint! The kofte really feels like it is melting in your mouth and it is delicious, especially when paired with the yoghurt. Everything was fresh, well made and comfortable. The prices are also very good and this is definitely a gem you need to try. We will return here again soon!

Heard a lot about this place, and it came recommended. At best - average. They specialise in Kofte and a small choice of grilled meats. All served with some pieces of baguettes and salad (optional and extra x Charge). Very plain and chewy Koftas. Price is average, just like the food. Wouldn't go out of my way to go again.

We stopped and turned back to drink a coffe at this restaurant just to wait for the robbers to go away . At the moment some of the robbers came just next to us talking to the waiter as if they were friends . We asked the waiter to call a taxi for us but he said that : taxies can not come here. Then i called the hotel to ask for a shuttle and i let the waiter explain them our location. The waiter told us that we had to go through Sifhane sokak and then we would find our shuttle waiting for us there luckily we did not go through that street because we knew they were going to rob us later at the hotel i found out that the waiter had just asked the hotel about the location of our hotel. NOT ABOUT THE SHUTTLE . so the waiter was part of the robbers. They wanted to know our rout. they just wanted to get us trapped to steal every bag we had.

Very clean and v polite staff. The Turkish delights are less sweet version. Will come again when I have the opportunity to come back to Istanbul

We found this shop a wonderful balance between the very expensive Hafiz Mustafa and the plethora of average places. They quality was high and they had a variety of options for packaging which made great gifts. Highly recommended!

the 2 boxes cost me 1953 ₺, I received them vacuum-packed and they were very appreciated when I took them home. I'm sure I could have eaten more because they are not overly sweet
Dorin A — Google review
I tried a lot of delicious sweets here! The place is worth coming back to. The owner was very helpful, friendly and communicative, I enjoyed my time in this place. I've never tried Turkish sweets before, so the owner let me try many of them for free before making my purchases 😊

When in Istanbul, you inevitably taste a lot of Turkish delight, but nothing comes close to the perfection at Dilseker. I first stumbled upon this gem in September 2023 and thought I'd discovered the best Turkish delight in the city. That belief was confirmed when I returned in August 2025. Two years and countless tastings later, Dilseker easily still stands out above everywhere else. The flavours are distinct and you can taste the quality of the ingredients in every piece. Crucially, the service is also exceptional. The staff are so polite and welcoming. The best Turkish delight and the best service in Istanbul!

Wow just as described by the rest of the reviewers. The owner Memhet was very nice as he gave us samples to try. The Baclava was amazing especially the one with the loaded pistachios. He also recommended his shop specialties Turkish delights. We ended up buying a few boxes from him. Reasonably priced. We will definitely go back to this shop when we are back in Istanbul. This is the shop to go to for good delicious Turkish dessert.

A pleasure to shop here. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Purchased a whole bunch of items, all neatly packed for our journey home. All the items were very tasty. Pricing was exceptional given the quality! Would highly recommend this place!

It’s a must to stop by! The staff is very friendly and helpful, while they don’t rush you even if there are plenty of options. Here we had best Turkish delight (the one with pistachio is heaven). They provide sealed boxes, in order to be compliant with airports’s requests. Just enjoy this place and its treasure.

Turkish restaurant
Saray Pide Ve Lahmacun is a hidden gem nestled near Taksim Square, celebrated for its authentic and high-quality offerings. Despite having a concise menu, the restaurant excels in serving delicious lahmacun and pide that locals rave about. The friendly staff prepares the dough right before your eyes, adding to the charm of this cozy spot. Many patrons opt to take home their freshly baked pita bread, indicating its popularity among residents.
Meat pide was great. Very friendly staff that rolls out the dough and cooks it right there in front where you can see. It seemed like a lot of locals were buying the pita bread in quantities and taking them home, so it is probably the best bread around.

Something like a cockroach inside of the food that they gave me…I wish reviews on here had mentioned the situation! Paying close to £5 and receiving this is crazy, paying nothing is too much for this in fact

This is the best most authentic pide and lahmacun parlor in Istanbul. There is a little guy who was super happy to serve us. The pide and lahmacun are top notch. Will definitely pass by when I visit Istanbul again.
Dany Y — Google review
The service first refused to serve me, as I ordered only 1 Lahmacun. They tried to convince me of the Lahmacun with cheese which I refused (because of the 10 TL additional sales revenue, really?). I wanted to leave, but another guy came and we ordered 2 Lahmacun together and they accepted it. The total price for 2 Lahmacun and 1 drink then was 75 TL. I payd 100 TL to be kind, what I instantly regretted, as the guy who took the money just looked strange without saying thanks and walked away mumbling something in a negative way. After about 15 additional minutes sitting there they made clear that we have to order something more or leave. It was not that there was anyone waiting for the place to sit… Very rude behaviour. We went to another place to drink something more. Food is average.

Located on the Asian side of Istanbul, Kadıköy Produce Market is a bustling and diverse market offering an array of fresh produce, spices, cheeses, dried fruits, nuts, and seafood. Established in the 1960s, it has become a haven for food enthusiasts seeking authentic Turkish ingredients. In addition to its culinary offerings, the market also features shops selling Turkish handicrafts and natural beauty products.
Variety of fresh foods, fruits, vegetables and extremely fresh fish. The wide selection of various cheeses, dried fruit, teas and nut vegetables is at the level! The prices are fine.
Anita C — Google review
The produce market and stalls itself is small, but I personally like the surrounding area. Lots to see, smell, and eat at prices cheaper than the European side. I think it's worth the 20 minute ferry ride from Eminonu to Kadikoy (38 lira one way as of March 2025).
Daydee B — Google review
Kadıköy is a great spot for fresh produce on the Asian side of Istanbul. The fruits and vegetables are vibrant, fresh, and reasonably priced. You’ll find everything from local herbs to seasonal specialties, and the quality is consistently good. The market is lively and full of character, with friendly vendors and a wide variety of options. It can get a bit crowded at times, but that’s part of the local charm. A must-visit for anyone who enjoys local markets and fresh ingredients.

This place was all locals when we walked in, so we thought that it would be a winner. Sure enough, the food did not disappoint. The manti (meat-filled dumplings with a garlic-yogurt-butter sauce) were extremely tasty, as were the different breads we had. Moreover, the prices were very reasonable. Highly recommended.
Paul P — Google review
Ok. We sat downstairs to have our meal. Just feet away from us, women were making the dough and the bread for our meal. It was great to see the old methods being done. That being said. This place does need a major remodel. It is fairly old and shows its wear. The food was good, but I think because the place is a bit run down, I mentally got it in my head that the food wasn't up to par.
Markus S — Google review
I am torn because the food was amazing but out of my week in Turkey this was the only time where I received bad service. What I was charged did not match up at all with what the menu indicated and the staff just seemed completely annoyed with my presence. I think if you are a local this would be a great place for you, but for tourists I did felt taken advantage of.

In Turkey, the traditional method of preparing Turkish coffee involves roasting and grinding the beans before boiling them in a cezve. The resulting brew is poured into small cups, with the grounds settling at the bottom for fortune-telling. Visitors to Istanbul can find delightful shops offering affordable and fresh Turkish coffee and baklava. These charming spots often have friendly hosts who make customers feel at home while serving delicious coffee, juice, and borek.
A very charming little coffee shop that offers a truly authentic Turkish experience. The prices are very reasonable, and the owner is exceptionally friendly and welcoming. We ordered a Turkish coffee, cheese börek, and a selection of mixed desserts, all chosen and served with care by the owner. The actual name of this place is “Ademoglu Pastanesi”. It’s been owned and operated by the lovely Adem for 35 years now. He said he’s had it since his son was just a little baby. I stumbled upon this place on my first day exploring Istanbul and came back twice the following day. I had delicious Turkish tea, coffee, simit with cream cheese, pomegranate juice, baklava, börek and so much more the 3 times that I went. Adem doesn’t overcharge even though it’s so close to tourist sites. I got 3 types of börek, Turkish coffee with a Turkish dessert (forgot the name) and a bottle of water for TRY 180. I also got simit, pomegranate juice and bottle of water for TRY 70. The baklava and borek are delicious and very affordable! This place definitely deserves more attention. It has a very cozy vibe to it and Adem is loved by the locals (and I totally understand why!). He’s the epitome of Turkish hospitality! I can’t wait to visit Adem again when I go back to Istanbul!
