Restaurant
Mikla is a sophisticated fine dining restaurant located on the rooftop of the Marmara Pera Hotel in Istanbul. The restaurant boasts contemporary styling and offers a tasting menu with a blend of Turkish and Scandinavian influences. The elegant interior features mid-century modern design, while the teak-decked terrace provides stunning panoramic views of the city.
The most special date night at Mikla! We had an unforgettable evening at Mikla. hands down one of the most special date nights we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect: the breathtaking views, the elegant atmosphere, and the incredible food. Each course was beautifully crafted, full of flavor, and presented with so much care. The ambiance set the perfect tone for a romantic night, and the service was attentive without being intrusive. Mikla truly delivers a world-class dining experience. We’ll cherish this evening for a long time highly recommended for a romantic night out or a celebration.

Had such an amazing dining experience at Mikla! Loved everything about this restaurant and can easily see why it's been listed on the The World's 50 Best Restaurant for a number of years and hasa Michelin star! The setting: the top of The Marmara Pera (conveniently just went down a floor after a sneaky pre drinks at the rooftop bar). In the midst of jasmine scents accompanied by the refreshing breeze of Galata I take in breathtaking views shimmering in the setting sun where old mosques glow like gold crowns! It's impossible not to feel romanced by Istanbul! The food here is innovatively delish! The menu combines contemporary techniques with traditional Anatolian recipes heroing fresh local produce from every corner of Anatolia to create beautiful dishes reflects the traditions of Anatolia's lands and people. I went with the 3 course a la carte menu and loved everything I ordered! My fave was the Seafood Casserole. The seafood was ocean fresh and the stew was a flavour bomb! 💣😋 Loved the spice kick it had too! The smoked duck was tasty too! Balanced really well with the sourness of the cherry in the salad and the pepper ham and white bean hummus! Desert was quite the sweet treat! Got the Burnt Hazelnut Halva loved the light creaminess of the rice pudding and the refreshing kaffir lime hazelnut sorbet! Was super impressed by the 3 courses of complementary snacks too which really showcased creative modern flair to traditional flavours! 😍

Dining at Mikla in Istanbul was a truly remarkable and unforgettable experience — the kind that stays with you long after the evening ends. As a Michelin-recognized restaurant, expectations were high, but Mikla exceeded every single one of them with grace and brilliance. The moment we stepped inside, we were welcomed into an atmosphere that radiates sophistication and charm. The panoramic view over Istanbul — especially as the sun sets and the city lights begin to sparkle — creates an absolutely magical backdrop. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between modern luxury and warm intimacy, making it ideal for a special occasion or simply celebrating the joy of great food. Speaking of food — every dish was a masterpiece. The tasting menu was meticulously curated, offering innovative flavors inspired by Anatolian heritage while maintaining a refined, contemporary approach. Each plate looked like art and tasted even better — layered, balanced, and bursting with creativity. You can truly sense the passion and expertise behind every element. It wasn’t just a meal; it was a culinary journey. The wine selection deserves special praise. The list is thoughtfully built, showcasing both exceptional local wines and impressive international labels. With knowledgeable guidance, each pairing elevated the dishes beautifully and added depth to the experience. But what truly made our dinner extraordinary was the impeccable service. Every member of the team was attentive, gracious, and genuinely passionate about what they do. A heartfelt thank you to the tall gentleman with the white beard who took such wonderful care of us throughout the evening. His warm presence, expertise, and personal touches made us feel so welcomed and transformed a superb meal into an unforgettable celebration. Mikla is the definition of fine dining done right — breathtaking atmosphere, extraordinary cuisine, exceptional wine, and world-class hospitality. It is without question one of the best dining experiences in Istanbul, and we cannot wait to return. For those seeking something truly special, Mikla is an absolute must!

There is so much to like about this restaurant. For starters the view and the decor is amazing. In addition to the dining room, there is a rooftop open air bar with stunning views of the city. We had the three course à la carte menu and all of the dishes were very creative and exquisite tasting. The presentation and the service is exactly what you would expect from a Michelin star restaurant.
David C — Google review
Absolutely fabulous. The food highlight of our trip. Beautiful facility. Staff was top notch - attentive, friendly, generous. We did the tasting menu with paired wines. Loved the Turkish wines, especially the Prestige Kavaklidere Okuzgozu, a rich, deep Turkish red comparable to any great cab you've had. The kitchen must have sent out 4-5 extra dishes to taste in addition to the 7 courses. Truly made for a wonderful evening.
John M — Google review
starry!!!!! firstly, this is the most welcomed i’ve felt in a restaurant. the service is so well-mannered and kind and attentive. truly deserving of the michelin star. the dirty martini was well made, and the white wine we had was fantastic, really light and fruity. the complementary crudités and bread were unbelievable. particularly the little sardine crisp! and i’m telling you, i really dont like olive oil, but this Turkish olive oil with the bread, i fell in love with. i could drink it pure. for a starter, the lamb’s heart was spectacular. soft and tender and the purée was sweet and nutty, reminiscent of all things good. the dry aged beef as a main was crazy. so much juicy meat, spectacularly flavourful just by good cooking. i did miss some flaky salt on it but the well-seasoned sides compensated. i think the kale was so good and crispy and i’m a sucker for layered crispy potatoes. for dessert i highly recommend the bitter chocolate! like a nice elongated dark praline with a tangy cherry-berry sorbet. yum. overall, great date night spot, and terribly delicious. the cocktail list is so long and its worth going just for that and some amazing Istanbul views. but also stay for a show-stopping meal!
Julia J — Google review
We enjoyed a wonderful evening with friends at Mikla. The food was delicious, service fantastic and the atmosphere overall very welcoming. On top you get stunning views from the terrace, and even better, from the rooftop bar. When I come back to Istanbul, I will come back to Mikla - for sure!
A. F — Google review
I recently had the tasting menu at the restaurant and was thoroughly impressed. The Slow Cooked Beef Short Rib was particularly delectable, with its tender and melt-in-your-mouth texture. The Bolet Mushroom was also flavorful and creamy. The service was exceptional, and the city views were breathtaking. I highly recommend the tasting menu to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience.

Spago is an upscale rooftop restaurant and lounge located atop The St. Regis Istanbul, offering a blend of indoor and outdoor seating with stunning views of Bosphoren and Macka Democracy Park in the prestigious Nisantasi district. Helmed by renowned Chef Wolfgang Puck, the stylish eatery presents a seasonal menu featuring a modern fusion of American, Asian, and Italian cuisines.
We were at the restaurant on September 23rd celebrating our brother-in-law's birthday. The restaurant has a very cozy atmosphere. The night view isn’t as special as during the day, but the place itself is quite pleasant. The outdoor area with the open-air bar is very enjoyable.
Dallyne A — Google review
The only beautiful thing in Spago is the view. We have many recommendations about the restaurant but our experience was not good at all. The food was hardly ok and the only good one was the glazed mushrooms. We ordered the Dallas steak and it was served cold and when we called the waiter they took it reheat it imagine!! This is not acceptable from a casual dining restaurant how about this fine dining. In any case the service was attentive but not professional and food quality is not good while view is fantastic.
Eng. A — Google review
The rooftop location is impressive, and the service was polite and attentive. The food was generally good, though not particularly memorable. Given that the restaurant holds a Michelin star, expectations were understandably high — both in terms of culinary refinement and overall dining experience. Unfortunately, the atmosphere during our visit did not reflect the level of sophistication typically associated with Michelin-starred establishments. The environment was lively to the point of being loud, which detracted from the otherwise elegant setting. In our view, a restaurant of this distinction should consistently deliver not only quality cuisine, but also a well-curated ambiance in line with its reputation. A few adjustments in this direction would better align the experience with the standards expected at this level.
Marie — Google review
Location is great and the view was good. Staff are welcoming. Atmosphere is great. The appetizers was tasty. For the main course i was really disapointed by the short rib beef, It was like eating rubber and I do not reccomend it at all. The Lobster tagliatelle was wonderful! I would come back just for it. I hope managment improves the short rib beef.

Very pleasant and friendly staff, wonderful view, elegant but approachable venue, had to Seabass, or two am I to judge the quality of the Michelin rated cuisine?

Hi we were staying at the hotel , the hostess was a bit off becasue we showed up 10:30 and she don't want to seat us becasue it's late and kitchen is closed which I find very weird ,we called the manager he was more accommodating and we sit outside nice view and the service was excellent, the food was normal nothing special . But over all it's nice for drink and party more becasue there was dj and live musics playing .

Seven Hills Restaurant is a relaxed rooftop venue offering classic meat and seafood dishes, with breathtaking views of the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. Positioned between these iconic landmarks, it provides an exceptional vantage point to admire the intricate details of both structures while also enjoying an aerial view of Istanbul's historic old city. Additionally, the restaurant offers panoramic vistas of the Asian side, Bosphorus, Marmara Sea, and nearby islands.
I really liked everything here! Will Definitely come again! It's nice that we can feed the birds also here. I recommend you come for early dinner in sunset time. Also, they have a side if someone only wants to take photos from the top. Perfect view, perfect service very caring into all details, perfect food as per their recommendation! Shahin has served us perfectly. Thank you
S - — Google review
Dining at Seven Hills Restaurant was an absolutely unforgettable experience! By far the best view in Istanbul, you can see both the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque from your table, and the panorama is simply unbeatable. The food is of good quality, perfectly prepared and full of flavor, though it comes at a steep price. I spent over 6000 lira, but every bite felt worth it. If you want a combination of incredible views, great atmosphere, and tasty food, this place is a must visit, even if it is a splurge.
Saied A — Google review
I wish there were a way to separate a venue from its food. This place is all about the location — they truly have one of the best views of Hagia Sophia. If what you want is to enjoy a drink while looking at this iconic landmark, then absolutely, go for the view. We only live once, and the setting is undeniably beautiful. The food, however, was just average. They tried very hard to sell “fresh fish,” but they don’t tell you the price beforehand. I ordered a chopped fish salad, a small fish plate, and a gin & tonic. The bill came to 100 USD — and they even charged the gin and the tonic separately (two shots of gin were 50 USD, plus the tonic). It made me wonder if ordering a margarita would mean the limes appear on a separate line on the bill. It definitely feels like a tourist trap — you’re paying for the view, not the food. I enjoyed the view 100%, but would I come back? Probably not.
Chef P — Google review
This place is excellent! Traveling to Istanbul for the first time with a friend and we’re so excited to try this place! Th food was excellent and so was the service provided by Zafer! He went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and he was excellent at providing recommendations. I tried a shrimp dish he recommended and it was so delicious! Thank you Zafer and team. Great service! Highly recommend to anyone looking for great food and an awesome rooftop view.

My friend and I ate breakfast at Seven Hills this morning. We ordered the Turkish breakfast and got so much food. The food was very tasty and the staff was so attentive. Whenever our tea glass was empty, someone was filling it up within a minute or two. The staff also helped us take pictures. Very friendly people. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants a nice rooftop breakfast and isn't afraid of birds. FYI, we arrived at 10:00 am and easily got a table, it started getting crowded around 11:00 am. A staff member named Fatima was great to chat with!
Christine R — Google review
A once in a lifetime experience at Seven Hills Restaurant with my friends and family.. special thanks to the very friendly staffs Sahin and Ozan for making our dining experience here a most memorable one. The rooftop restaurant is highly recommended and cannot be missed! =)
Three L — Google review
We’ve had a bit of a tough time finding good food on this Turkey trip, but Seven Hills absolutely turned that around for us. We ordered the breakfast platter for two, and wow — it was fantastic! You truly get a full Turkish breakfast experience, with a wonderful spread of cheeses, meats, breads, olives, jams, eggs, and more. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Even our little one couldn’t get enough of it, happily sampling from all the plates. It’s easily a meal that sets you up for the whole day. If you’re in the area, definitely treat yourself to their breakfast. As of July 2025, it’s about 1,200 lira per person, and worth every bit. We’ll be thinking about that meal long after this trip is over. Also, how could I forget the incredible views. From up there, you get a stunning 360-degree panorama of the water and the majestic mosques scattered across the old city. It truly creates an unforgettable atmosphere — the whole experience felt magical.
Denis B — Google review
I had an absolutely wonderful experience thanks to Mert and Sahin. Their service was truly outstanding – warm, attentive, and genuine from start to finish. They made sure we felt welcome and well taken care of throughout the entire visit, which really elevated the whole experience. On top of that, the food was both beautifully prepared and delicious, and the view made everything even more special. But what stood out the most was definitely the exceptional service – Mert and Sahin went above and beyond, and it made all the difference. Highly recommended for anyone who values not just great food and scenery, but also unforgettable hospitality.

Balkon Restaurant & Bar is a vibrant option with a terrace offering international cuisine, cocktails, and live music. It's a favorite spot for many tourists in Istanbul due to its outstanding view over the city and the Bosphorus. The restaurant has a great variety of menu options, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. It's an ideal place to relax after touring Beyoglu or to enjoy a romantic evening with stunning views.
We made a reservation for the weekend and had a wonderful time. The food, cocktails, and music were excellent. The service team was friendly.

Nice sunset view. Better to pre book a table especially on week-ends as it’s too crowded. Food and price is average.

Amazing experience! This place offers a stunning sunset view over Istanbul that creates a truly unique atmosphere. Prices are reasonable considering the location and the view. Definitely worth visiting at sunset.

Booked on Saturday night for 2. We had starter mains and few cocktails. Everything was on point service and foods. Spectacular view. Casual vibe and nice tune. Well recommended.

The views are stunning here! It’s a great place to watch the sunset. I recommend booking a sunset view table, otherwise you will have to walk across the terrace to see it properly. The food was good, nothing outstanding.

A great, cozy spot in the tourist center of Istanbul! This rooftop lounge is perfect for enjoying the evening sunset. It’s very easy to reserve a table via WhatsApp if needed, though tables are usually available even without a reservation. We only had drinks — wine and beer — and really enjoyed them. I’m sure the food is excellent too, but we didn’t have a chance to try it. Highly recommended for a relaxing drink and to enjoy the evening atmosphere of Istanbul.

Located atop The Bank Hotel in the vibrant Karakoy neighborhood of Istanbul, The Bank Roof Bar offers a sophisticated and timeless experience. With its stylish open-air terrace, the bar provides stunning panoramic views of the Old City and beyond. Guests can savor an extensive selection of classic and signature cocktails, a diverse range of whiskies, and local as well as international wines. Additionally, a unique assortment of finger foods complements the beverage offerings.
The perfect place to end a day in Istanbul. One of the best roof top bar we’ve ever visited. Located on the top floor of Bank Hotel you’ll be met with an incredible view (especially at sunset!) and fantastic service. The vibe is chill and you can stay for a long time just to take in the view and the atmosphere. We ended up coming back here several times during our week in town. The cocktails are superb, I highly recommend the Espresso Martini and the Gin Sour. Definitely don’t miss out on this place!

The best part of our stay at The Bank Hotel. Service is exceptional. The food was outstanding, and the views were absolutely breathtaking—truly unforgettable!
MP S — Google review
One of the coolest rooftop restaurants and bars I’ve been to in a different city! The drinks were actually insanely delish I had 2 different ones. Also had the 2 Turkish local cuisine style food options which were both so yummy. Live DJ on the roof was playing great music and the staff was so friendly and helpful. Definitely on the more expensive side but worth it.
Josh R — Google review
Roof bar of a fancy hotel in Karaköy. The lobby, restaurant and roof bar is well designed. You will enjoy the interior especially if you have any connection with design or architecture. The terrace is not very big but has wide and comfortable couches. It is possible to find better views of İstanbul but still nice to watch the rush below. We have ordered Italian rose wine with cheese and fruit plates. They also serve some snacks (some kind of dried green peas, olive, and cashew) Cheese selection was not my type but cheese plate was good. Fruit plate was rich, unfortunatelly melon was about to rotten that we could get sour taste. Prices are over average, even higher than Europe. And they also add %15 service fee and another additional fee which is not clear. As a local, I suggest to find more reasonable place with better view.
Sezin H — Google review
Unbelievable experience. First, the views are unmatched at this bar. Secondly, the food is delicious. We tried the shrimp tacos. My wife and I love spicy food and it had a nice kick. We also tried some cocktails. I had the Green Spot and she tried the Safe From the Bosphorus. The presentation for her drink was phenomenal. Literally brought it out in a safe. It’s a bit pricey but worth it.
MICHAEL M — Google review
The place is very nice, the view is great. The staff is concerned about their customers. The presentation of the cocktail we had chosen was very interesting, but overall the prices are a bit high.
Victoriya P — Google review
Lovely bar but don't bother if you want to see the sun set. Booked a table specifially for this reason but was disappointed that it sets behind a nearby building. Probably a better view from the bridge.
Sarah C — Google review
Such a beautiful view it’s definitely worth coming!! During the day and at night, it’s beautiful. I only took off a star because cocktails and drinks are very expensive, we each got a martini and it wasn’t in a martini glass and had ice in it with orange and lemon slices (which is definitely not a martini) so it was two sips for around 550 lira each which is so pricey for two sips. So we split a bottle of wine for 2000 lira instead which is way more worth it than the cocktails. I recommend coming here for food and bottles of wine for the view and super comfy chairs. I came here twice because it truly has the best atmosphere in Istanbul. It is so lively and the view is everything. The food is absolutely delicious and I highly recommend it. The service was excellent as well, thank you Metin.

We had Metin serve us, he was polite and attentive. The location is fab, great views. Pasta was average but its not an Italian so can't expect anything more. Cocktails were great and the desserts were yummy! Overall a lovely evening. Would come again. Thank you Metin and the team.

A hidden gem with one of the best rooftop views in Istanbul. Loti Roof Lounge truly exceeded expectations — from the elegant interior design and warm lighting to the breathtaking view over the mosques and Bosphorus skyline. The atmosphere is cozy yet refined, perfect for a relaxing evening with great food and conversation. We had burrata salad, a cheese platter, and fresh bread — all beautifully served and full of flavor. The service was professional, friendly, and attentive without being intrusive. Every detail — from table setup to background music — felt carefully curated. Whether you come for dinner, drinks, or just to watch the sunset, Loti Roof Lounge is an experience worth every moment. Highly recommended! 🌅✨

My family and I had the most amazing rooftop dining experience! We were a group of seven in Turkey for the first time and celebrating a birthday. The food was delicious, and the staff went out of their way to make it an unforgettable night. 10/10 we will definitely come back when we return to Istanbul🫶🏽

Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque is a historic and iconic religious site located in the European side of Istanbul. Originally built as a Byzantine church, it has undergone several transformations throughout history, serving as an Orthodox Christian cathedral, Roman Catholic cathedral, and Ottoman mosque. After being designated as a secular museum for many years, it was recently announced that it would return to its status as a mosque.
Absolutely stunning mosque. We visited the big three while in Istanbul and this was certainly our favourite by a good way. Amazing history, I'd recommend getting the museum ticket too, which was fabulous for all ages. Go to the museum first to find out the amazing history and then in to the Hagia Sophia.
Richard H — Google review
This was a beautiful space there is no doubt however it’s outshine by the fact it’s disgustingly overpriced. We bought tickets at the ticket box, maybe it’s better to book online? I almost can’t remember the beautifully preserved walls, the stunning architecture and the theatrical visual display at the museum. Very unfortunate that some of Istanbul best kept history is so incredibly inaccessible due to cost.
Janine K — Google review
The mosque itself is gorgeous and quite impressive from the outside. It is costly to get in but you do get to see some historical Byzantine era artwork alongside Islamic calligraphy. There are even seraphim’s that decorate the mosque. However, it is unfortunate that only Turkish nationals are allowed to visit the lower part of the mosque where foreigners are relegated to the visitor areas. Nevertheless it is an iconic landmark and there are some interesting historical pieces that are worth looking at. If you go later like at 18:00 there are little to no lines.

This is an Amazing architecture with history. It was interesting how the religion identity of this Mosque evolved with different rulers. Some of the views look way better than the pictures. It is a must visit when you are in Istanbul.

The Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque is something that all tourists must visit when in Istanbul. It was very interesting to learn that this beautiful building is 1500 years old. I highly recommend buying tickets online to avoid the long queues.
Marina T — Google review
One of the oldest historic landmarks in Istanbul. The grand mosque was recently opened as a mosque 2020 after being a museum for long time which was a mosque before that and was originally a church once built. The place contains a museum. A must-visit landmark in Istanbul.
Ziad A — Google review
There is nothing much I can say that someone hasn't already said. No one should visit Istanbul without seeing the Hagia Sophia. My photos are only a sample of what to expect. Be aware that it is closed from 12 to 14, but if you get your timing wrong, there are plenty of small cafes for you to enjoy a coffee or tea whilst you wait. I admit to being a little ashamed of one of my ancient forefathers having carved his name in the marble railing 🫤 We visited in November, queues were manageable, but I cannot imagine what this place might look like during the more busy times.

Nestled in Istanbul's Arnavutkoy neighborhood, Alexandra Cocktail Bar is a charming rooftop hideaway that attracts both locals and tourists. The bar boasts a lively atmosphere and offers stunning views of the Bosphorus from its rooftop terrace. With multiple floors each playing different music genres, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Known for its impressive cocktail menu, this hidden gem is a popular spot for socializing with friends and family or enjoying a romantic date night.
The ambiance was lively and enjoyable, with an open area at the entrance where you can sit and enjoy the street view. Inside, the main part of the bar features a DJ performing music. The drinks were fine, and we paid 600 TL for each cocktail. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I will likely visit again.

The views are great from the balcony but it's very small so you should arrive practically when it opens to get a seat there. The drinks were okay, I felt that the drinks weren't as strong as the ones I've had at other bars in Istanbul

No price on menu. Asked 450 lira for one cocktail. So they're ripping off people since 2 weeks ago the price was 300. (I just saw in another review) Way overpriced for a coktail not that special. And didn't had any food. View is amazing dough.

We were looking for a rooftop spot to enjoy Istanbul’s night views and decided to try this restaurant next to our hotel — and we’re so glad we did. The views were absolutely stunning, and the overall vibe was just right. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. We ordered the Istanbul Kebab, a hamburger, cheeseburger, and chicken wrap — everything exceeded our expectations. The service was friendly and attentive, especially Onur, who took great care of us. A lovely place for great food, amazing views, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.

Wish I could rate this place higher than 5 stars, it was absolutely amazing, stunning setting, beautiful view and amazing food. Our waiter was so friendly, and funny very helpful. I didn’t want to leave , and. if I was there more than one night I would definitely gone back the next night. Choice of food on menu was fantastic. Lovely background music too (inc live singer). AMAZING PLACE HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Didn't know it was more international food than Turkish, so was a bit disappointed but should have researched better. Our waiter was great, (Peter no2 ?) and the views of the mosque superb, but you don't really get to see the sunset, I would imagine it would be better on the other side of the building. TBH the food was nothing special in terms of quality so I fail to gradp the 4.9 average rating, but each to their own.

Lovely ambience, live music and lighting with our delicious meal. I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Roof Panorama. The view is simply breathtaking — a perfect panorama of Istanbul’s skyline that creates an unforgettable atmosphere, especially at sunset. The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and full of rich, authentic flavors. Every dish we tried was a delight. What made the evening truly exceptional was the impeccable service. Our server, Erol, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of. He was friendly, attentive, and professional — anticipating our needs without being intrusive. His warm attitude and thoughtful service truly elevated our dining experience. This place is a gem — a perfect blend of ambiance, cuisine, and outstanding hospitality. Highly recommended!

The Blue Mosque, also known as the Sultanahmet Mosque, is a famous site in Istanbul. It was built between 1609-1616 by Sultan Ahmet and architect Sedefkar Mehmet Aga. The interior is adorned with 22,000 ceramic decorations, giving it its nickname. This iconic landmark is adjacent to Hagia Sophia and is the only mosque in Istanbul with six minarets.
I visited the Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmed Mosque) with my tour group on a Friday, right after the Friday prayers. I had to wait about 45 minutes to get in, but honestly, once I stepped inside, it was totally worth it. The mosque is absolutely stunning. Its immense central dome, surrounded by cascading smaller domes, felt almost otherworldly. Everywhere you look, there are thousands of handmade İznik ceramic tiles in shades of blue with floral motifs, geometric patterns and tulips — especially in the upper levels. The light coming through over 200 stained-glass windows gives the interior this calm, glowing feel. Because of its six minarets (more than most mosques), it stands out in Istanbul’s skyline. Sultan Ahmed I built it between 1609 – 1616, partly because he wanted something to rival Hagia Sophia, which is right across from it. Practical stuff: there are clean toilets, which was a relief. They enforce modest dress: women have to wear a scarf over their hair, shoulders and knees covered for everyone, and you need to take off your shoes before entering. Some moments that stuck with me: In the courtyard before entering, seeing the cascade of domes and the elegant lines of the building is already breathtaking. Once inside, you really feel how grand the interior space is. The blend of color, light and ornate detail (calligraphy, the marble mihrab and minbar) is sensory in the best way. If you go, here are a few pro tips: try to arrive early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the biggest crowds. Bring your own scarf and something to carry your shoes (just makes things smoother). And take time in the courtyard and look up — there's detail in every angle that I almost overlooked because I was distracted by everything else.
Surendran M — Google review
The Blue Mosque is a truly peaceful and beautiful place. I had the opportunity to pray salah inside, and it felt very calm and spiritual. The atmosphere is serene, and the architecture is stunning — definitely a must-visit in Istanbul. You can also find free souvenirs here for visitors; I received two English-translated Qur’an Al-Majid as a gift, which was a wonderful gesture. Overall, a deeply meaningful experience.
Engr. I — Google review
The Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Camii) is not just a place of worship — it is a masterpiece that breathes history, devotion, and artistry. The harmony between its majestic domes, elegant minarets, and the endless blue Iznik tiles creates an atmosphere that is both serene and awe-inspiring. Stepping inside feels like stepping into a gentle whisper of centuries, where light dances softly across patterns that were crafted with love, patience, and deep spiritual meaning. The peaceful ambiance invites you to slow down, breathe, and simply be. Whether you come to pray, admire the architecture, or reflect quietly, the Blue Mosque embraces you with a warm, timeless beauty. It stands proudly in the heart of Istanbul — a city where the past and present walk side by side. Truly, it is one of the world’s most enchanting treasures, a monument that touches both the eyes and the heart.
Halil Ö — Google review
Mosque itself is beautiful, but I have to remove one star because of the crowds. The ques are endless so prepare for waiting. We came early so somehow we managed to get inside quite quickly. Inside of mosque it was packed, the air was heavy, not a peaceful experience as mosque should be, people were pushing each other there, very hard to enjoy the beauty or make a picture. We went out very quickly. There are many mosques with free entry around which are beautiful and not so crowded so you can actually enjoy it.
Silvia C — Google review
This is undoubtedly one of the most impressive mosques in the world, known for its six minarets. Admission is completely free. Inside, the ceiling is spectacular, filled with details and the famous blue tiles that give the place its name. It is well worth getting in line at least once. The queue, by the way, starts forming even before opening and is located on the side of the courtyard (there are signs indicating), but it usually moves relatively quickly. It is essential to respect the rules: men must wear pants, and women need to cover their legs, shoulders, and hair. You must also remove your shoes to enter. Here is an honest warning: due to the absurd number of people entering barefoot, the foot odor is very strong and can be unpleasant. Pay attention to the hours (based on 05/2025): it closes to tourists during prayer times (12:00 PM, 4:30 PM, 6:30 PM). The visiting windows are 8:30 AM, 2:00 PM, and 5:30 PM (Monday to Sunday, except Friday); and at 2:30 PM (Fridays). There are free-to-use restrooms in the outer area.
Luana B — Google review
A breathtaking mosque with six minarets and stunning blue Iznik tiles that give it its name. The interior feels serene and spiritual, making it a must-visit in Istanbul. Very interesting history behind it. 📜 Built in the early 1600s by Sultan Ahmed I, it remains an active place of worship. 🚇 Easily accessible by tram (Sultanahmet station). 🕐 Best time: early morning or late evening to avoid crowds. Week ends are very crowded ⚠️ Dress modestly; women should cover heads. Everyone- cover below knees. You will get the scarf at the mosque 💰 Entry: Free. 🚫 Avoid visiting during prayer times (especially Friday noon prayers)
Vibhor B — Google review
The Sultan Ahmed Mosque, known as the Blue Mosque, is one of Istanbul’s most iconic landmarks. Built between 1609 and 1616 during the reign of Sultan Ahmed I, it is unique because it has six minarets, a feature that caused controversy at the time, since only the mosque in Mecca had the same number. To resolve this, a seventh minaret was later added to the Grand Mosque in Mecca. A popular legend says that when Sultan Ahmed ordered the mosque, he asked for “altın minare” (gold minarets), but the architect misheard it as “altı minare” (six minarets). Whether true or not, it’s a charming story that adds to the mosque’s mystique. The mosque is known as the Blue Mosque because of its breathtaking interior, decorated with more than 20,000 blue İznik tiles. It’s without a doubt a must-see when visiting Istanbul!

The Topkapi Palace Museum, a grand 15th-century palace in Istanbul, served as the residence and administrative center for Ottoman sultans for over four centuries. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is now a museum that attracts numerous tourists. It houses Islamic relics, ceramics, clothing, weapons, manuscripts, and jewelry. The palace features four courtyards, various buildings including kitchens and a hospital, as well as a mosque.
The best sight to see in the sultanshmet area. It costs around £44 (1300 lira), but for the amount of things you see, it is worth it. If you were to do one thing in Istanbul, do this. It is easier to buy tickets via card, as there are 3 ticket booths ~100 metres before the cash ticket area (where you queue up for about 10 minutes). Spent 3 hours here and was fully satisfied. It costs 900 lira extra to do the Harem, and another 900 for the mosque near the entrance. Parking is available past the blue mosque. Be weary of queues inside for various "museum" parts. The jewel area is the longest. Holy relics area is also somewhat long to queue for, but worth it. Relics include footprint of Muhammed and skull bone of John the Baptist. Great views on the south side overlooking Bosphorus and Harem side of Istanbul.

Topkapi Palace offers a fascinating journey into the world of the Ottoman sultans. Perched above the Bosphorus and Golden Horn, it provides stunning panoramic views of Istanbul. The palace complex, divided into several courtyards, reveals both the grandeur of the sultan's public life and the intimate spaces of the Harem and private chambers. Inside, the museum shows a rich collection of jewels, weapons, and old manuscripts. These exhibits give a clear picture of how wealthy and cultured the Ottoman Empire was. Visiting early in the morning is best, as it's easier to enjoy the beautiful architecture and details without big crowds.

Visiting the Topkapi Palace Museum was one of the highlights of my trip to Istanbul! The palace is absolutely breathtaking — every corner tells a story of the Ottoman Empire’s grandeur. The architecture, courtyards, and views of the Bosphorus are simply stunning. The museum collections are fascinating, especially the imperial treasures, calligraphy, and sacred relics. The staff were helpful, and everything was well-organized for visitors. It can get quite crowded, so going early in the morning is a great idea to enjoy it peacefully. Overall, it’s an unforgettable experience — a must-see for anyone interested in history, art, and culture.

A luxurious palace with extensive grounds! Definitely worth a visit to immerse yourself in the culture of the Magnificent Century. Don't forget to wear something Turkish and appropriate for the atmosphere to take memorable photos. It is a very beautiful and historic place. There is an entrance fee, and you will have to wait in line (as everywhere), but it is worth it.

Topkapi Palace is one of those places that you don’t want to miss if you visit Istanbul! I spent about three hours exploring it, and I’m still not sure I managed to see even half of it. Topkapi Palace was built between 1460 and 1478 by Sultan Mehmed II, the conqueror of Constantinople, and served as the main residence and administrative center of the Ottoman Empire for almost 400 years. Over time, many sultans expanded and renovated the palace, including Suleiman the Magnificent, Selim II, and Ahmed III. Each ruler left his own mark, making the complex a true reflection of the empire’s changing tastes and power. Beyond its fascinating history, the palace also houses an incredible collection of artifacts and war treasures gathered over centuries. Inside, you can see remarkable relics such as Moses’ staff, the skull of John the Baptist, a footprint of the Prophet Muhammad, Stephen the Great’s sword, and many other impressive jewels, including the famous Spoonmaker’s Diamond (Kaşıkçı Elması). One of the most impressive parts of the palace is the Harem, which I truly recommend visiting. From what I’ve read and been told, the Harem was not originally this large, each sultan who lived here added new rooms and sections over time, making it the vast and fascinating complex it is today. There are queues for some of the popular sections, but I never had to wait more than ten minutes. To truly explore everything, you’d probably need an entire day, and it’s absolutely worth it!
Stefan — Google review
Even without visiting the interior, it's impossible not to be impressed by the grandeur of this complex, which was the main residence of the Ottoman sultans for centuries. The entrance to the palace itself is paid. However, an excellent tip is that the park surrounding it, Gülhane Park, has completely free admission. This park was the former outer garden of the palace and is now a wonderful green oasis, perfect for walking, sitting on benches, and escaping the intense heat. Just walking along the outer walls and relaxing in the park is worth the visit to the area.
Luana B — Google review
A truly romantic and emotional experience, especially as a Muslim visitor. The highlight was entering the Sacred Relics Chamber, where I saw the footprint and one of the swords of Prophet Muhammad PBUH, as well as Prophet Musa’s staff, which by Allah’s will was used to part the Red Sea. It’s deeply touching to see how the Ottoman Empire preserved the letters sent by the Prophet, which later became part of Quranic Surahs. I was moved to tears. All the collections are very well-preserved, and the security and maintenance are impressive for such a large and historic museum. I recommend avoiding weekends since it gets very crowded, making it hard to spend enough time appreciating everything. We spent around three hours exploring the museum, including Asr prayer at the Sofia Camii mosque inside the palace, and it still felt like not enough time. I’ll definitely come back again! and if it’s your first visit to Istanbul, this museum is an absolute must-see!
Wisye B — Google review
The palace grounds are extensive with four successive courtyards. Here is where the Ottoman royalty loved. The treasure museum is a must see. It has royal jewelry including the famous bejeweled dagger and the Spoonmaker's 86 carat diamond. To visit Harem area is a separate ticket but it is worthwhile to visit to see living quarters of people supporting the royalty. Be prepared to wait in long slow moving lines.

360 Istanbul is a contemporary penthouse restaurant and weekend club offering modern Turkish meze and global dishes. Situated in Istanbul's Beyoglu district, it provides a complete 360-degree panorama of the city, including iconic landmarks like the Galata Tower and possibly even the distant Dolmabahce Palace. The urban chic rounded tables offer an ideal setting to enjoy signature cocktails while taking in live acts and performances.
We went her last minute for dinner on a Monday evening and was pleasantly surprised with the wonderful elegant atmosphere and views. Our dinner entrees were excellent and the apps were average. The cocktail selection was nice. The outdoor views were great. I would like to see the late nightlife next time we return.

We visited 360 Istanbul to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The view was absolutely stunning — but unfortunately, that was the only highlight of the evening. The service was disappointing, the furniture felt worn out, and the staff didn’t meet our expectations in terms of professionalism or hospitality. The birthday service was especially poor, and I wouldn’t recommend this place for special occasions. The food was very average, yet extremely overpriced. For a group of four, with just two glasses of wine and no additional alcohol, we ended up paying 12,000 TL — which simply doesn’t reflect the quality of the experience. Beautiful view, but everything else was a letdown.

Not exactly my usual taste, but that’s just me as a foreign traveler. The food itself is delicate and unique. Plus, the view is great. Our waiter was super friendly and helpful. But I really didn’t like being asked right in front of everyone to give a five-star Google review. That just feels dishonest, so minus one star.

I had a wonderful experience at 350 Restaurant thanks to our amazing server, Mustafa. He was incredibly kind, attentive, and made us feel very welcome throughout the entire meal. Not only was his service excellent, but he also has a very warm and charming personality. I highly recommend asking for Mustafa if you visit—he truly made our night special!

To be clear, this place has amazing food and the service is decent while you are there. The lamb confit was actually incredible. However, keep a close eye on your bill, as they will increase your bill later (take a picture). Bottom line - beautiful views and great food with corrupt business practices that lead me to a poor rating.

I didn’t try the food at Istanbul 360, but I had a cocktail that was absolutely delicious — although quite expensive. The view, however, is truly exceptional! It’s definitely worth a visit for the atmosphere and the stunning panoramic scenery.

The view of this restaurant is amazing. But we would not go there again if you want to have good food. We ordered two starters (calamari and a salmon salad), which didn't have any taste at all. Our main course was a steak with onion rings, potatoes and lettuce. The steak was fatty and there was also no taste. The onion rings were dry and tasted like they've been freshly out of the freezer. Unfortunately the expensive aperol wasn't good too. We could only taste the water. We complained about it and the waiter added something. But we still couldn't taste it.

My wife and I booked this restaurant based on good reviews however we were ripped off. For example, I had two ‘local’ beers, and was charged 1,400tr for them which is approximately £25!! I was not shown the price in advance. Be very careful before considering dining herr

Vogue Restaurant & Bar is a chic rooftop eatery with a terrace bar offering stunning city and river views. This ultra-trendy spot in the Besiktas district embodies modernity and elegance, reflecting the principles of Vogue. Since 1997, it has been a popular attraction atop BJK Plaza, providing panoramic views of Istanbul's skyline and the Bosphorus.
The food was incredible! We ordered two salmon dishes, and the sauce was delicious. The quality of the food was amazing as well. They did charge 10% for service and 200 TL for something that should have been complimentary since we didn’t order it, but we left happy because of the great food. Everything we ordered, including one tea, totaled 4300 TL (as shown in the photos).

We went on Sunday evening, and everything—from the food to the service—was excellent. I had previously thought it was a bit overrated, but you can really have a great time there. We tried various sushi and tempura dishes, all of which were very fresh and delicious. Also, a big thank you to Mr. Hayri, who took great care of us!

Let me regale you with our dining experience with Vogue Restaurant & Bar in Istanbul. As we stepped into the realm of culinary delights, we found ourselves in a whirlwind of mixed signals that left us craving more than just a dish to savour. Imagine this: the ambience was set, the air filled with promises of gastronomic adventures, yet the siren call of the phone seemed to outshine our arrival. A melodic ring echoed through the space, and alas, the hostess danced to its tune, leaving us feeling like mere bystanders in a bustling symphony of modern distractions. While the views promised captivating beauty, the service seemed to fail to match the grandeur of the setting. More style than substance, we yearned for a touch of warmth and care from the servers, a connection that goes beyond the surface and delves into the heart of hospitality. And oh, the balcony! A promise unfulfilled as we had to remind the establishment of its allure, a subtle reminder that sometimes the advertised dreams fall short of reality. We had to ask for a table to be dressed on the balcony, which wasn't too much to ask, considering they promote you can dine on the balcony. Amid it all, a warning whispered in the wind: Do yourself a favour and venture onwards to Turk Fatih Tutak or Glens Restaurant for a dining experience of true magnificence. Vogue may dazzle with its views and affiliation with Conde Naste, but don't be fooled. For those seeking the whole culinary experience, it may be best to bid farewell and seek solace elsewhere. So, if you seek to be treated like a respected customer, perhaps Vogue is not the destination for you. Every journey holds its lessons, and in this culinary saga, we learn that even amidst disappointments, brighter horizons are always waiting to be explored. Here's to dining adventures yet to come and to find the true gems in unexpected places!

Vogue is a fine dining establishment. It’s not cheap, but is absolutely worth the price. This is an excellent place to bring a date or entertain customers. The view is breathtaking. Service is “white glove.” They serve sushi, sashimi, surf-and-turf. I enjoyed shrimp dumplings as an appetizer, and tenderloin as the main course. Everything was good. It was a little unusual for me that they didn’t ask me how I want the meat done, and that everything was brought out at the same time. No big deal. I tried a desert with goat milk ice cream and pistachios, which was amazing.

It was very hard to find for our driver, limited parking. However, the food was easily a top 10 experiance for me. The view is breathtaking! You sadly will need to finance your home to enjoy a meal here. Seafood - just next level.

16 ROOF - Swissotel The Bosphorus, Istanbul is a rooftop restaurant and bar that offers a unique experience combining top-notch dining with an exciting nightlife scene. Located on the hill, it provides panoramic views of Istanbul and the Bosphorus. The venue features a live DJ for entertainment and is known for its chilled-out vibes. Guests can enjoy the stunning views while being provided with heaters and blankets during cool weather.
The views alone were enough to make the evening special, but the food truly stole the show. Each dish was packed with flavor, made from fresh, high-quality ingredients that left me wanting more. The service was top-notch, with staff that were friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel effortless. The wine selection was impressive — plenty of options to suit every taste, and it was easy to find the perfect pairing for the meal. As a local, I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to enjoy a great meal with a fantastic atmosphere. It’s a place I’ll definitely be coming back to. 🥩🍖🍴

Nice rooftop with an amazing view, very fresh and windy. Music is cool, food is tasty, but hostes team is quite unprofessional. We ask 3 times to give us empty table in the shadow instead of table on the sun. That was so ridiculous to see irritated face of the hostes lady when she finally accept our kind request. Very disappointing service for that class of the place.

The food at 16 Roof is outstanding. The salmon appetizer was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented—an excellent start to the meal. The steak entrée was perfectly cooked, tender, and rich in flavor, easily one of the best I’ve had in Istanbul. Combined with the stunning Bosphorus view, it’s a top spot for a memorable dinner.

Roof 16 Bar in Istanbul offers a fantastic atmosphere with stunning city views. The vibe is relaxed yet vibrant, perfect for evening drinks and socializing. Definitely a must-visit spot if you want to enjoy the Istanbul skyline in a stylish setting.

Delicious starters. Would recommend the soup and the steak bites! Super beautiful view! Service not qualified for these prices unfortunately. Cocktails aren’t great, small amount of alcohol added and no real paper menus only qr sucks at such environment…

Im sharing my deep dissatisfaction with the service I received during my recent visit at Roof 16 restaurant. I had booked a table in advance and arrived at 5:05 PM, just five minutes after the terrace opened 5:00pm. The restaurant was nearly empty at that time — only three tables were occupied, and none had ordered food yet. I kindly asked the waiter if I could sit at a corner table with a view. Despite the availability, he refused and said those tables were booked. However, your website clearly mentions that table selection is not guaranteed. To make matters worse, just 10 minutes later, another couple arrived and was allowed to choose any table — contradicting what I was told. I was only offered two tables next to the stairs, far from any enjoyable view. This felt unfair and dismissive. The service itself was even more disappointing. The blonde waitress who took my order was noticeably rude. When the food arrived, she simply dumped it down without a word — no greeting, no courtesy, not even a simple “enjoy your meal.” Her attitude throughout was unprofessional and unfriendly. I had planned to enjoy a nice dinner, but the service completely ruined the experience. I ended up leaving after just one drink. I strongly believe hospitality staff should treat every guest with basic respect and kindness — sadly, that was not the case. I hope you take this feedback seriously, as no guest deserves to be treated this way. There are plenty of better options in the area, and I would not recommend your establishment based on this experience.

An unforgettable evening with an incredible view! 16 Roof offers not only a breathtaking panorama over the Bosphorus, but also an exceptional dining experience. We had the oysters, fish, and tiramisu — each dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The oysters were fresh and briny, the fish perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the tiramisu was a deliciously light finish. The service was attentive and professional, and the atmosphere elegant yet relaxed. Highly recommended for a special night out in Istanbul!

Sky Karaköy, located in the JW Marriott Istanbul Bosphorus, offers breathtaking views of the Bosphorus and the historic Peninsula. The rooftop restaurant provides an excellent vantage point to watch cruise ships coming in and out of Gatalaport. This modern bar is a popular spot for enjoying cocktails while taking in the stunning Istanbul skyline. Whether it's day or night, visitors can relax and savor their drinks with an unbeatable view of the city.
One of the best views of the Bosporus/Golden Horn. It’s the rooftop bar of the Marriott, but you don’t need to be a guest at the hotel to go there. Of course, with these views, and at a hotel bar in Turkey, you’re going to be paying MONEY money for a cocktail. The bad thing is that it’s closed a lot. It’s often closed for a big chunk of winter and other times for maintenance. If the rooftop bar is closed, you can get a drink in the restaurant just one level down.

Snog Roof Bar is a laid-back rooftop spot near the Galata Tower in Istanbul, offering stunning city views. The cozy ambiance is enhanced by simple wooden interiors and soft lighting from ceiling bulbs. While the floor-to-ceiling windows limit sunset views over Eminonu, the atmosphere and music are enjoyable. The terrace provides a great place to relax, soak up the sunshine, and savor reasonably priced cocktails.
Nice place with an amazing rooftop terrace where you can sit back and enjoy the wonderful views of Istanbul. It’s near to Galata Tower. The staff is friendly. Cocktails are a bit pricey. Overall very delicious and a very nice place.

Great view of the Galata tower. It’s truly beautiful. The waiter was very kind and friendly. Minus one star because the drinks had a bit more alcohol than what I am used to drink on other stores. It is totally worth it for views and the great service.

Good atmosphere and music, the views are fantastic over Galata tower, but it’s a shame that the view doesn’t extend to an unrestricted view of the sunset over Eminönü because of the windows. 2 of the 3 cocktails were good but none were particularly strong. The prices are very expensive!

My favourite bar in Istanbul! Fabulous roof terrace bar just beside Galata Tower and with a great view. At night the tower is lit up so makes a fantastic backdrop for selfies and cocktail pictures! Tables on the outside terrace are hard to get snd when you arrive you have to take a seat on the inside and wait your turn, but the staff are very good and get you to one of the outside tables as soon as possible! Great cocktail menu Fabulous music selection Great location Best bar staff Five stars every time This is one of Istanbul’s hidden gems!

Perched atop The Ritz-Carlton, Istanbul, The Roof is a luxurious rooftop oasis offering mesmerizing views of the Bosphorus. This enchanting escape features an inviting infinity pool and lush greenery, creating an intimate atmosphere for a cozy getaway. Guests can indulge in a Mediterranean-inspired menu at the Brasserie curated by Chef Selami Guleryuz, catering to various culinary preferences.
During my recent visit to Istanbul, I had the pleasure of dining at the Roof restaurant located at The Ritz-Carlton, and I must say, it was an wonderful experience. The highlight of my meals was undoubtedly the Vegetable &  Mozarella Chesse Omelette, which was the most delicious I have ever tasted. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the texture was just right, making it a true culinary delight. To complement this exquisite dish, I enjoyed my favorite Turkish coffee with sugar. The coffee was rich, aromatic, and expertly prepared, providing the perfect finish to a wonderful meal. The combination of the delectable omelette and the traditional Turkish coffee made for a memorable dining experience. In addition to the fantastic food and drink, the ambiance of the Roof restaurant was truly special. The Roof offers one of the most breathtaking panoramic views in the city. As the sun dips behind the Bosphorus, the skyline transforms into a canvas of warm hues—perfectly framed by the elegant design of the terrace. Whether you're gazing toward the Asian side or watching the ferries glide past Dolmabahçe Palace, the scenery is simply unforgettable. Atmosphere & Ambiance The vibe strikes a perfect balance between refined and relaxed. Soft music, attentive service, and plush seating create an inviting space that feels both exclusive and comfortable. It’s ideal for a romantic evening, a stylish gathering, or a quiet moment of reflection with a view that never disappoints. Drinks That Impress The cocktail menu is as inspired as the setting. Signature blends like the Bosphorus Breeze and the Ottoman Negroni showcase local ingredients with a modern twist. Each drink is crafted with care and presented with flair—whether you're sipping a classic or exploring something new, the bar team delivers with precision and creativity.

The Basilica Cistern, also known as the Sunken Palace, is a remarkable underground water reservoir in Istanbul. Constructed during the reign of Byzantine Emperor Justinian in the 6th century, it features 336 marble columns covering an area of 9,800 square meters. The cistern exudes an ethereal ambiance with its golden-lit space and shoals of fish swimming in its water pools.
Fabulous experience. The space underground is cool but not cold (September). It wasn’t crowded and queues weren’t long. There were maybe 20 people in front of us in the queue at 9:30am. The queue moves very fast so we barely had to wait. You can purchase entry tickets at the kiosk at the entrance or pre-purchase online and use a QR code to enter like what we did. It takes about 30 minutes to leisurely walk through and time for pictures.

Very beautiful. It can be a bit crowded but you can still get high quality photos. Lots of attention needing Instagram folks there but you can get around that. Love the lights that light up the waterways. Gives you a great of how vast this was even though it’s just a small section. Really makes you appreciate the pure knowledge and dedication of the Roman Empire. Definitely a must do experience in Istanbul. Get your tickets in advance!
Mr. D — Google review
I think this is a place that should be visited. It is impressive, massive, and it truly makes you wonder how such a structure was built so long ago. Pay attention to timing — go early in the morning or later in the evening if you don’t want to move through the crowds like cattle. It gets very busy, but the experience is worth it. You don’t need to pre-book tickets or wait in long lines; there are ticket machines available on site.
Chef P — Google review
I've read of the long ticket queues so decided to buy a ticket online while on the way over. Make sure it is a reputable seller that immediately sends the ticket (with QR) automatically upon purchase. Upon arrival there is a queue for online ticket holders, though not as long as physical ones. The visit within the Cistern is cool with the history written within boards near the entrance. Lights changes occasionally to orange, green and white to keep things interesting and there are a few art installations. Overall didn't stay longer than 20min.
M.S. T — Google review
Must go when in Turkey. There’s 2 other cisterns nearby that is less popular with cheaper entry too to visit. But this one is quite spectacular. The way the walkway is laid out is good too as you make your way above the water level to the exit. Keep a lookout for Medusa and try not to stare into her eyes, less you become one with the cistern. In stone. It is recommended to buy tickets before hand to skip the line which could take more than an hour to enter. The only line you have to do is the security check and it is even more cheaper if you buy the combo skip the line tickets with Topkapi and Hagia Sophia. The walkway is dry so no special shoes needed. There’s also a ramp for wheelchair access.
Kevin C — Google review
We went without online tickets on a weekday and the wait was not that long, maybe 10-15 minutes. We have Turkish citizenship so the tickets were not that expensive (~7€/350TRY), however the foreigner tickets were (~30€/1500TRY) and we really were shocked. I think this is a wonderful place to visit and we were amazed at the beauty and architecture, but I don’t know if I would have paid 4 times more that we did, considering the whole visit was about 30 minutes tops 😅 I am not sure if it’s worth it, if you are a tourist on a budget, I would recommend you to spend your money on Topkapi Palace, which is huge and has so so much to offer.
Merve S — Google review
Basilica Cistern is a large underground water reservoir constructed in the 6th century under Emperor Justinian to supply water for the city of Constantinople (now Istanbul) near Sultanahmet. It was forgotten and lost in history for several centuries until being rediscovered in the 16th century. Now it is a major sightseeing attraction in the city that can be visited daily from 9am to 6.30pm and then again from 7.30pm to 10pm for night visits and events. We purchased tickets online before visiting using the PASSO website recommended on the TA Istanbul forums. Ticket price is 350 TRY for locals and 1500 TRY for foreign visitors. Importantly, online purchase doesn't require a tour or any sort. You book and use the QR code sent for direct and independent visits. On the day, we visited there was a pretty long queue of tourists in the ticket purchase queue. We walked straight in with the online ticket purchase. What you find is a large cavernous underground reservoir with shallow clear waters occasionally lit up with colourful lights that help make for neat photographs. The cistern's vaulted ceiling is held up by 336 columns many of which were repurposed from other Roman buildings. Two in particular are quite famous having based carved to resemble the head of Medusa. You walk on wooden platforms around the cistern in a counter clockwise direction. In addition to the columns, you will see a handful of installations with in the cistern. The air within is cool and you will occasionally be hit with falling water drops, all part of the dreamy, somewhat magical like experience of walking through the Basilica Cistern. Allow 20-45 minutes depending on how much you are enjoying your time during your visit.
Brad — Google review
A cool little experience. You can see old Sumarian columns that have been repurposed to support the city above. On this tour you will see the 2 famous Medusa heads. As you probably already know. This used to be a cistern to supply water to the city. If you buy tickets online. You do not have to wait in line. This is the option I recommend. When I arrived, after lunch. There was a mid sized queue. But it moved fairly quickly. I probably waited 15 minutes. Before I was able to purchase a ticket and take the tour.

Flea & Street Markets
The Grand Bazaar, located in Istanbul, is a historic and sprawling network of indoor souks and market streets offering a wide variety of goods such as leather, jewelry, and gifts. The bazaar dates back to 1461 and is considered an essential stop for every visitor. Surrounding the bazaar are buildings from the Ottoman era including timber houses, ornate tombs, and imperial mosques.
A must visit if you're visiting Istanbul, for the first time. The only thing is almost every store owner smokes cigarettes. Also, it's very busy with a lot of tourists, so keep your valuables and kids close to you, cause it's very easy to get lost. I had to open my Google maps up 5 or 6 times, just to figure out which way to go. However, it's a must see and you can get some really nice things here, make sure you bargain, there is no set prices. I had a guy start out at $320 and I walked away at the end paying $180 for a piece of jewelry.
Sami S — Google review
The Grand Bazaar is a major attraction in Istanbul. It is one of the world's largest and oldest covered markets dating back to 1461 when established under the reign of Sultan Mehmed II (Mehmed the Conqueror). For centuries European and Asian traders have made this an active marketplace, selling all manner of goods within a honeycomb of linked hallways lined with venders and shops. Today there are supposedly 4000 shops here. Within, sections are dedicated to different items such as leather, carpets, jewellery, ceramics, local crafts and modern day souvenirs. We recently visited and found the shopkeepers and touts to be considerably more gentle than 30 years ago, clearly much to do with the vast increase in tourism traffic. The shops and market on the whole had a much more touristic feel as well. Still made for a fun hour or so of browsing hallways, streets and shops. Be ready to haggle on prices if you find something of interest and don't hesitate to shop around. You will find a lot of the same items being sold from one shop to another unless you are looking for unique carpets, jewellery and ceramic purchases. You can easily combine a visit to the Grand Bazaar with visits to popular attractions such as the nearby Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and Basilica Cistern. For a more authentic market experience, consider making time to visit the Egyptian (Spice) Market while in the area as well. It has more of a look and feel of the old days compared to what you will experience at the Grand Bazaar now.
Brad — Google review
This is one of the oldest and largest covered markets in the world, a true labyrinth full of history. Admission is free. Construction began in the 15th century, and walking through its dozens of internal "streets" is a unique experience. It is an incredibly busy place, with an intense flow of people and vendors trying to get your attention. It's paradise for buying souvenirs, especially ceramics, scarves, colorful Turkish lamps, and jewelry. Most larger shops accept credit cards, but to get good discounts (bargaining is a must!) or to buy from smaller stalls, having cash is essential.
Luana B — Google review
Touristy but historic! The Grand Bazaar is iconic and full of energy, but be prepared for higher prices. Most souvenirs, tea, coffee, and baklava can be found outside the bazaar for much cheaper. It’s fun to wander through the colorful stalls and soak in the historic atmosphere, but bargain hard if you plan to buy anything. One of the famous markets in Istanbul You can shop gold, carpet, sweets and other local gift and selections. It is safe but always aware that you are in foreign country if you are a tourist. I personally enjoyed staying the market here and feel Istanbul.

The Grand Bazaar in Istanbul is a historic must-see… but be ready for the chaos. It’s like stepping into a colourful maze from centuries ago, which is pretty cool—but also packed with tourists, crowds, and lots of indoor smokers. Seriously, your clothes might smell like cigarettes by the time you leave. If you’re shopping, keep your wallet in check. Most souvenirs, tea, coffee, and baklava are much cheaper outside the bazaar, so don’t fall for the “bazaar markup.” Haggling is mandatory, and you need sharp eyes to avoid being overcharged—or worse, scammed. Despite the crowds, smoke, and tourist traps, there’s a certain charm to wandering these historic streets. Think of it as an experience rather than a shopping spree. Go for the history, the architecture, and the atmosphere—but maybe save your wallet for the streets outside. Overall: historic and fascinating, but chaotic, overpriced, and a little smoky. A solid “once-in-a-lifetime” stop, but don’t plan on bargain hunting in peace. xx kellychan360

The Grand Bazaar is a must if you want to make a good deal in leather, silk or gold. But there is much more than that. Spices, souvenirs, t-shirts and all you might need. Some place are really expensive but it is possible to find minor local shops where it is more than possible to make a good deal on the price. Don't be rude but fair and you will be treated very wel. l

Well, this is a place you should definitely visit. Don’t worry about directions—just get lost. There’s so much to see and so much to buy. Of course, vendors will approach you at any moment, but I must say everyone was very respectful if you simply said no. That said, they are there to sell, not to chat; if you engage, they will try to close the sale. There’s a bit of everything for every taste. It’s incredibly busy, even during quieter hours—but that’s part of the charm. I’ll definitely be back. It takes time to move around, so take your time and enjoy it.

Bosphorus is a strait that separates Europe and Asia, offering unique city views on boat tours. The Bakirkoy Istanbul area is conveniently accessible via various transportation routes, including the E5 highway and the Metrobus Expressway. It also boasts a metro connection to the center of Istanbul. Additionally, it features renowned eateries that showcase Istanbul's diverse culinary scene, from classic Turkish breakfasts to fresh seafood from the Bosphorus and delectable baklava.
Nice to visit and stroll, even if you don't take a ferry or cruise. But the pavement is reflective and hot, so wear a cap or bring an umbrella.

We did a cruise on the Bosphorus Strait which separates Istanbul into 2 continents, Asia and Europe. There are some very nice sites along the shore including the last Palace of the Sultans.

The Bosphorus Bridge (15 July Martyrs Bridge) is truly one of the most beautiful suspension bridges in the world. Its stunning design, breathtaking views of Istanbul, and impressive structure make it a must-see landmark for anyone visiting the city.

I visited Istanbul in 2022 and took a ferry across the Bosphorus for a very affordable price to go to Kadiköy for my cousin’s wedding dress. It was such a nice moment, the view was stunning and there was even a singer performing ,making the trip even more enjoyable. There are also dinner cruises with live shows on the Bosphorus, definitely something I’ll try next Time !

When it comes to experiencing Istanbul’s enchanting charm, few activities can rival a sunset cruise on the Bosphorus. On my recent trip, I had the pleasure of booking this incredible journey through the Istanbul E-pass, which included authentic Turkish snacks. It turned out to be a perfect blend of breathtaking views, delicious treats, and unforgettable moments.Planning a sunset cruise on the Bosphorus was hassle-free, thanks to the Istanbul E-pass. The iconic landmarks of Istanbul, the Dolmabahçe Palace, Ortaköy Mosque, and the Bosphorus Bridge looked even more majestic under the warm evening light. The cruise offered panoramic views of both the European and Asian sides of the city, giving a unique perspective of Istanbul’s duality. What made this cruise stand out wasn’t just the views or the snacks, it was the overall vibe. One particularly unforgettable moment was standing at the edge of the boat, feeling the wind on my face as I admired the glittering skyline. It was a moment of pure bliss and connection with the city. The Istanbul Bosphorus sunset cruise was a highlight of my trip, offering an evening filled with beauty, culture, and enjoyment. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned traveler, this cruise is a must-do to experience the soul of Istanbul.

The Bosphorus, also known as the Strait of Istanbul, is a natural waterway in Turkey that separates Europe and Asia. It connects the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara and serves as a critical passage for international maritime trade. We took a cruise along the Bosphorus and were captivated by the breathtaking views. The blend of historic sites and contemporary architecture was truly mesmerizing. The experience of sailing between two continents was unforgettable, making the Bosphorus a must-see destination for any visitor to Istanbul.

Had a beautiful experience in the Bosphorus area and cruising through it. We did the cruise in the evening time from when it was bright under the sun till it got dark and the shades changed into night lights. Would definitely recommend, both sides of the Bosphorus have lots of iconic monuments and views to watch out for.

Very difficult to find a place in Istanbul lately which should tick all boxes.. I found one. This restaurant has an unbelievable service standards and I was thoroughly impressed by waiters and welcome staff. The best view of Istanbul from this restaurant no doubt about that. Outdoor and indoor both have amazing views and ambiance of this restaurant makes you feel good about your life. Staff was so efficient and they made us feel special. Food was delicious, my favourite will be seafood choices. Great wine selection and exceptional desserts to finish off your evening. Loved it.. apologies for not getting many photos 🙏🏼 reservation is a must

The atmosphere was amazing. We fell in love with the view specially in the sunset. Also, the food was delicious and the options were quite varied so there were lots of different choices. The service was also very nice and very helpful. The prices are also very reasonable and also can be said it was cheaper than I thought compared to other places and prices for the most normal restaurants so with the services and all the things they serve and the prices, I think they definitely deserve five stars.

A new favorite for me, we had a late lunch and I was surprised they were even open at 3:30 in the afternoon but apparently that is a thing for them, it wasn’t too busy so we had the chance to be cared for properly. The food was absolutely stunning, I tried the octopus and the pasta with white sauce and lobster, and this has to be one of the best dishes I’ve had in a while. We will be returning every time we go to Istanbul.

We went there for dinner after someone recommended this place for us. It is a fine dining restaurant with a stunning view. The ambience is very nice and comforting. The staff are helpful but not very attentive. The food was not as good as we expected especially that the prices are very expensive. Our overall experience was ok but we would not go back again.

250€ for Sushi I recently ordered a sushi platter from this restaurant, and I must say it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had. The platter included two types of sushi made with imitation crab (crab sticks), and both were bland, lacking freshness and flavor. Honestly, the entire selection felt thrown together, with no real attention to quality or authenticity. The prices are ridiculously high for what you get. This place is severely overrated — you’re essentially paying a premium for mediocre food and the illusion of a high-end experience. There was absolutely nothing memorable or satisfying about the meal, and I left feeling like I wasted both my money and time. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Save your money and go somewhere that actually knows how to prepare good sushi and respects their customers.

This is obviously a splurge. Steep on a hilltop, the outdoor setting and the view of the Asian side of Istanbul and the Bosporus in between makes everything else seem more gorgeous. The food is good, just a notch short and could have been great. Service is relatively quick but getting them during a weekend dinner is tough. It’s a steep price, do take a cigar to enjoy.

this place might impress tourists but as a local citizen i can say that it is mediocre. we have visisted for a special occasion but left disappointed. cocktails were tasteful food was average, the bread that came first was not fresh. waitress said that it was not possible and took that back but didnt come with another one or even with an explanation. another disappointment was our seating, i had to seat back to back with live music performer. overalls it was below the price range and wish we spent our precious at somewhere else….

Nice place. Better when open a little to the outside. Photo on site is not accurate. It’s sealed off with glass walls and clear plastic drops and retractable roof. Weather was amazing outside but they never opened it which was a shame. Entertainment was decent on weekends but only for couple hours. Service needs attention. Drinks and food are decent for hotel bar. The chili infused vodka drink was personal favorite and the chicken lollipops were great.

Great place with amazing view! The food was delicious and staff was absolutely lovely. I came for late lunch and the place was almost empty with plenty tables to choose from, so I recommend to come for a late lunch or if you prefer dinner - I think you will need reservation. Wow! Great Find! Special place. We had the stuffed mushrooms which were delicious. Then we had the Greek salad which was fresh and tasty. We finished off with the Sea Bass in Paper, Excellent! The ambience and view are amazing. The service was spot on, professional, and attentive. Outstanding service. The Gin & Tonic was $21, a bit of a shock. Mind the drink prices! Still, one of the best restaurant experiences I have had in quite some time, anywhere.
Robert Y — Google review
Nice restaurant with a beautiful view of the water, as well as a view of both the Sophia Mosque and the Blue Mosque. Both service and food were good.. it is expensive for what it is though, which is why I have given it 4 stars. I assume the prices are a lot more because it is a rooftop, but comparatively, the food is as good as the restaurants we have visited off the street. 1 x cold entree, 2 x main and 2 x cocktails cost 5200 lira (almost $200AUD). It was a good, one-off experience as we wouldn’t pay those prices again.

A Desaster visit. I went because of the google reviews. And there is a lot of renovations going on. Actually no problem. Then I wanted to order breakfast and they dont have it for 1 Person. The usual turkish breakfast with everything here and there. It starts with 2 People. Which is sad. Just because I travel alone, I cant have it? They should make a platter for 1 Person. Anyways, then I told the guy to bring me 2 Omelettes. Instead of putting both omelettes in one plate, he brings 2 Orders 🤦🏻‍♀️. I skipped the french fries and bread and ate the omelettes. The ordered ginger lemon tea tasted a bit bitter from the lemon peels. But I could not taste any Ginger in it. I dont know how long this dry tea was sitting in the pantry. So: Never again.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. All the food was very fresh and absolutely delicious — you can really taste the quality in every dish. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, which made the whole visit even more enjoyable. A special mention goes to our waiter, Yılmaz. He was very attentive, polite, and professional throughout the evening. He gave great recommendations, always made sure we had everything we needed, and created a warm and friendly atmosphere at our table. Thanks to him, the service felt exceptional, and I would be happy to come back again. This place is definitely worth visiting if you want tasty food and outstanding service.

Worst and most expensive meal we’ve had in Turkey, and we’ve been here for 2 weeks. This is not an exaggeration. It’s been a long time since I’ve felt this ripped off. The service was pleasant. The views are good. But whatever you do, don’t come here. Don’t waste one of your meals in Turkey here. It’s not worth the views. I repeat, it’s not worth the views. Pay attention to this very honest review. Feel free to look at my previous reviews because I never rip into places like this but this place will disappoint you deeply. We asked the waiter for his recommendation. The waiter recommended a $101 (USD, YES $101 US dollars—4,200 lira) sea bass dish for 2 that left us hungry. It came with some very sad iceberg lettuce and 2 cherry tomatoes. After we’ve told our waiter that this was a terrible recommendation and dish, he took off 10% off the bill. This is so egregious. He gave us a free digestive and free fried pastry with pistachio dessert to compensate for this very disappointing meal. Whatever else you bookmarked in Istanbul, go there instead bc it can’t get worse or more expensive than this place. I have not been this disappointed in a long time.

Duble Meze Bar, established in 2013, introduced a new dining trend in Istanbul, offering fine food and Turkish 90s pop music. The restaurant boasts excellent music and a pleasant ambiance. Guests praise the beautiful views, fresh local cuisine, and exceptional service. The staff is welcoming and accommodating, ensuring a memorable dining experience. While some found the music too loud and subjective, others enjoyed the cocktails, wine selection, and delicious meze options.
I can not say enough good things about this restaurant, it is just fantastic. The views are beautiful (especially for sunset), the food is all fresh, local and super tasty, but the real star of this restaurant is in the service. Everybody is extremely nice and welcoming and made us (non-Turkish speakers) feel at home immediately. Muhammed especially gets a shoutout, he went above and beyond and helped us craft a perfect meal and gave us one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. If you’re staying in the Beyoğlu/Pera/Taksim area you should really stop by and try it. 5 stars!

I don't know Istanbul, so I couldn't say how this place ranks compared to others, but I know I had a great time, was impressed by the view and the food, and the service was great. I had to ask to lower the music as we couldn't hear ourselves speak and I was not a fan of the selection (very subjective). It was also hard at times to grab the attention of the waiter as it was very busy. Cocktails are good, wine selection is good, and the meze are great. The service is excellent in spite of the noise and crowd, we were offered desert on the house because of the wait. I wasn't surprised by the bill, even if it's not inexpensive either.
Valentin L — Google review
The view from the roof is of course fabulous, but not different from many other places and not enough to compensate for the rest. Mezes are fine, but are they really better than elsewhere? The trophy will go to the “beef ribs”: serving a Durum cut in small pieces like a maki at a high price doesn’t make it better, not is it really creative. But the really unpleasant part was the service, how pushy and hard selling they were. It’s true that in Istanbul waiters can be real hustlers when they hear english, but it was so intense here that it made the entire experience unpleasant. Time to pay the bill and the waiter pulls out the old trick for american tourists of “the service is not included”. There was already 10% more than the bill in cash, but the waiter insisted even more “that’s it? Nothing more?” tapping the bill aggressively with his finger. Upset by this behavior, I answered “that’s it, and I want all my change back”. But the waiter left with the money and never brought the change.

All the meze, and the main courses, and even the desserts were fantastic! we went there for a good time and tasty food but achieved neither to be honest. the music becomes incredibly loud after some time and the communication with the staff/waiters is very difficult. unfortunately they kind of force you to tip at the end. they also messed with our bill at the end of the night and within a second they acknowledged what was up.. thoughts.. and they made a big deal of the extra money they charged us when we wanted it back & telling us they can provide beers instead. can’t recommend. great view though.

Serica is a small rooftop stylish dining room restaurant with open kitchen and panoramic views. Chef Yigit Alicioglu’s menu features Aegean, Black Sea, Anatolia and the Southeast regions of Turkey. The cuisine is Turkish with global influences to modernize the food. The food is solid; every dish had intense flavours but with the right combination. The Tabouleh beef Tartar was very creative. The kitchen is has its own tandoor oven where they bake their fresh rolls and tandoor roasted food. The service was impeccable. Desserts were the weakest part. And no tea! I believe this could be the only restaurant in Turkey that doesn’t serve tea.
Habib M — Google review
We had a lovely evening at Serica although also a bit strange. Let me start with the food, that was really nice. The portions are pretty big (especially the first course of beetroot) but the tastes were all nice and well balanced. After we asked the waiter to slow down it was all good. The wine pairing with local wines was even better than expected. So 5 stars for food and service. The only odd thing is that there were 2 television recordings during our meal, and although not too disturbing and even somewhat entertaining, it is not what you would expect in a venue like this. But as said, a very nice diner experience, very friendly service and an absolute stunning location all for a very decent price. So worthwhile a d-tour of you want something different.

Market
The Egyptian Bazaar, also known as the Spice Bazaar, is a covered market in Istanbul that dates back to the 17th century. It was originally built to cater to those seeking traditional tastes during the Ottoman Empire and continues to house shops selling spices from Africa and Asia. The bazaar features an L-shaped layout with six gates, four of which are large entrances.
Straightforward and efficient market. Selling things needed and souvenirs. Very colourful and pretty vibes and setting. Shop people were friendly and kind and hospitable. Good shopping district. Just no so many apparel shops so if you are looking for clothes go to grand bazaar. I enjoyed this more than grand bazaar and it’s open daily!
Takeuchi Y — Google review
After the Grand Bazaar, this is a smaller but still beautiful market, and it’s right by the water. There’s a lot to see here and plenty of goodies to buy: meats, cheeses, sweets, teas, saffron… I’m not sure if the prices are fair or slightly high because of the location, but everything looks clean and well-presented. I also loved that the sellers are not pushy at all. This is my second day here, so I was more in a “wandering than shopping” mood — but I will be back.
Chef P — Google review
We visited the Egyptian Bazaar in the morning. Compared to the Grand Bazaar, it’s smaller and more compact, but also much less crowded, which makes the experience more enjoyable. Many vendors offered us samples of sweets, menthol, spices, tea, and more—it was a great way to explore the flavors and aromas. Be sure to bring cash and don’t hesitate to negotiate prices. We ended up buying menthol, coffee, tea, and spices. Overall, a fun and worthwhile visit!
Ju G — Google review
A lively bazaar next to the ferry terminus. You will find all types of spices and tea here. (Similar to grand bazaar, But better as the focus here still largely remain on spices and tea, and not overwhelming with the modern souvenirs or apparel
Damanjit K — Google review
It’s a crowded place and can feel overwhelming with so many people walking in every direction. There’s an indoor and outdoor section. The stores are vibrant and competitive. You’ll find a lot of stores selling the same items, shop around and sample. That’s not to say they’re cheap. From my experience, most of them take credit card payments.
HN — Google review
Beautiful place full of colours and smells. Just get lost and enjoy. No one was pushy, we bought some tasty sweets and tea for a fairly good price.
Silvia C — Google review
It's fragrant but many of the shops are the same. The vendors are aggressive and you need to be careful they don't over charge you but you can find everything you need here. It's better to shop outside the bazaar for better pricing.
Lori L — Google review
It’s like a typical bazaar in Turkey . It’s treat for the eyes but not for the faint hearted. It’s crowded with people jostling for space. It has all the things you can think of buying locally. No fancy brands here - only local vendors. The best thing is that eateries allow you to taste baklava- unlike fancier shops in Taksim square. The bad part is that you need to bargain on prices- which mars the shopping experience a bit for tourists.

The restaurant operates within the Barnathan Hotel, which opened its doors in 2021. The interior exudes an elegant and inviting atmosphere, blending modern aesthetics with classic charm to create a unique ambiance for guests. The staff is known for their exceptional attentiveness and professionalism, ensuring that every visitor feels well taken care of.
I was so happy when I visited your restaurant. It was the first terrace I went to in Istanbul, and we were so lucky with our table – the views were absolutely stunning. The coffee was also delicious. I will definitely come back again! Atmosphere 10/10 !!!
Irina L — Google review
Whilst the ambiance and our waiter were pleasant, the overall experience was deeply disappointing, primarily due to the shockingly tasteless food and the dismissive attitude of the manager. The restaurant itself is visually appealing, especially the [terrace/garden], and our waiter was attentive and friendly. The food presentation was also impressive, showcasing artistic flair. Unfortunately, the food was incredibly bland and utterly devoid of flavour. Despite the beautiful presentation, each dish was a major letdown. To make matters worse, when we raised our concerns with the manager, we were met with rudeness and indifference. Our complaints were disregarded, and no attempt was made to rectify the situation. It’s also worth noting the price difference between the terrace and garden seating, which feels unjustified given the overall experience. In summary, Barnarthan restaurant is a classic case of style over substance. The stunning presentation and pleasant atmosphere are overshadowed by the terrible food and the manager's appalling attitude. I cannot recommend this restaurant and advise others to spend their money elsewhere, where both the food and the customer are valued.

Our first dinner in Istanbul took place at Barnathan Roof, located in the Meroddi Barnathan Hotel — and it turned out to be one of the most memorable gastronomic experiences of the trip. During the day, we stopped by for coffee and admired the Galata Tower, and later returned in the evening for dinner. Meroddi Barnathan Hotel is a boutique hotel in the very heart of Galata, housed in a restored 19th-century apartment building. Combining historical architecture with modern details, the hotel preserves the spirit of old Istanbul: high ceilings, vintage decorative elements, and cozy interiors. With only a few rooms, it offers an intimate atmosphere. Its biggest advantage is its location — just steps away from the Galata Tower and the famous Istiklal Street, plus its very own rooftop restaurant Barnathan Roof, with a stunning panoramic view of the city. The terrace tables are arranged so that every guest can enjoy sweeping views of the Galata Tower, the Golden Horn, and the city skyline. The menu features morning breakfasts, starters, pasta, fish, steak, chicken, salads, and desserts. Type the word “menu” in the comments, and I’ll send it to you in direct messages. Portions are surprisingly generous — we ordered one main dish to share plus a salad, since we had already snacked while exploring, and it was more than enough. Our meat portion was huge. Prices: steak 1550 TL, salad 290 TL. Drinks are on the pricier side — cocktails and wine range between 600–850 TL per glass. Also note the 10% service charge + KDV, usually mentioned in small print at the bottom. The restaurant opens for dinner (around 5 PM), and we booked a table in advance — highly recommended, especially if you want to catch the sunset. If you find yourself in Galata, this is a must-visit spot for the atmosphere and views that stay with you long after. The breathtaking panorama of Istanbul at sunset and the cheeky seagulls begging for food add even more charm to the experience.

If you’re looking for beautiful food in the most wonderful location, with breathtaking views, this is the place to visit. The staff are attentive, food is lovely. BIG shoutout to Can on the door who was so pleasant when greeting me and my family. He also took great pictures for us at the door. We booked a table for 7pm and was able to watch the sunset around the golden horn and Galata tower. This place is everything, would recommend and can’t wait to visit again. Chris, Manchester.

NEVER again! Please, do NOT order the Barnathan Special. It’s nothing more than the cheapest mac-and-cheese, although the menu says “pasta.” Pasta and macaroni are not the same thing! If it’s mac-and-cheese, they must clearly state it in the menu. We pointed this out to them so other customers wouldn’t fall into the same trap, but they didn’t care. Sadly, they lost us as customers - we will never come back and never recommend this place. They are also losing potential clients. On top of that, the service was terribly slow. In such a touristy area, the staff didn’t speak English, weren’t helpful, and even had an attitude. We had made a reservation, yet they told us we couldn’t choose a table. They claimed all tables had a view, but that was a lie-most were far away and not facing the Galata Tower ( we asked for Galata view). And because of their greed, the tables were squeezed just 10 centimeters apart. There was no privacy, you feel like you’re eating with strangers. Definitely not a good choice for a special occasion. It was really loud and crowded.
Margo S — Google review
i should start off by saying that the view here is extraordinary and like no other place. it was somehow crowded and the staff weren’t trained to deal with it. the food was good in quality and not enough in portion. however this is the only place i got scammed in, in istanbul. i paid in cash and they took way more than they should’ve of my money. i didn’t say anything because i was with an old friend and i didn’t want to make a scene but it wasn’t an expected act from an already overpriced restaurant.
Setayesh M — Google review
The view from this place is absolutely stunning and worth seeing. Unfortunately, that’s the only highlight. The food was disappointing and didn’t match the beautiful setting, and the utensils were not clean, which made the experience even worse. Definitely not a spot I’d recommend for breakfast, unless you’re only going for the view.

Gorgeous place. Next to Galata Tower, located on the 5th floor. The view is excellent. And it costs several times cheaper than visiting the tower itself. And of course - drinking delicious coffee with a view of the Bosphorus is definitely gorgeous!

Historical landmark
Büyük Valide Han is a 400-year-old historical inn located near the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. The building offers stunning city views from its rooftop, which has become a popular spot for photo enthusiasts. Despite some concerns about the safety of the rooftop viewpoint, visitors can still access it through narrow streets and hidden doors. Additionally, there are secret passages leading to the rooftop that offer an adventurous experience. The inn is home to a charming cafe filled with plants, adding to its quirky atmosphere.
Visited October 2019 – Büyük Valide Han, Istanbul "Dancing on the Roof of the World." The view from the top of this 17th-century caravanserai, commissioned by Kösem Sultan, once a bustling hub for Silk Road merchants. Experiencing the magnificent sights, delving into the secret corners, tasting the culinary delights, and living the cultural experiences of the City of Heart’s Desire.

The doors leading to the roof are closed. There's a man offering the key to the roof for €20 or 500 Turkish lira. However, you can walk around the building for free

Had a great chat with the proprietor and designer Ardin (hope I spelled that right), who sells jewelery and other cool collectibles here at this location. The cafe portion is closed at the moment but it's worth a visit for the view alone, and the collection is nice as well. Please leave a tip for your visit as he is a small business owner, incredibly hospitable, and the view really is spectacular. As others mentioned it's pretty easy to find, just follow Google maps and use my pictures of the surroundings and the staircase as guidance.

You can go up the second floor where all the buildings around connect and you can walk around, there’s a hidden cafe as well.

we were there a week ago, it's not hard to find by google maps, and when we were there, some man showed us the way to cafe. its nice, drinking coffee served with taste and with a view from a little terrace. i was hoping we could go to the roof top but it is forbidden, they say it's not safe. pity. i found out about roofs watching the movie "96 hours" and i really wanted to have that experience, walking at the rooftops, although i think that the scenes of roofs in that movie are from the roofs of kapali çarsi, but they are also devastated and dangerous and forbidden. Anyway, hope to come again for a coffee here and to have more time to explore this location inside, cause i red that there is some work and art shops, i haven't seen them. and near is Büyük Yeni Han, also historical building, worth to visit. they are all in bad condition, its a shame
Sladzanica B — Google review
It is worth visiting! Everyone is saying that it’s hard to find but actually there is a short way of locating the cafe. You need to enter the arch with the title Buyuk Valide Han above, come through the arch (don’t use the stairs from the arch), right after the arch turn to the right and go until the end. There you will find the stairs to the second floor, come up and in a min you will see the door to the cafe

January 2023: Rooftop not available anymore for pics, you will find a guy there and he is saying he can’t help you (old guy) please don’t give him so much importance he speaks like he owns the NASA.. Anyway don’t waste you time you can not go on the top but still there is cool coffee inside the Han with amazing view.

Leb-i Derya is one of Istanbul's top luxury dining experiences, located on a high rooftop with breathtaking city views. It offers a diverse menu featuring Turkish delicacies like lamb shish and seafood dishes such as linguine with salmon and calamari. With multiple locations, the restaurant at Richmond Hotel on Istiklal Avenue in Taksim is perfect for a romantic dinner with its elegant ambiance and stunning vistas.
Absolutely one of the best restaurants we have visited together over the past few years! Incredibly designed place tucked away up a staircase up an elevator and up another staircase. Once you’re to the top you’re surrounded by absolute beauty, a friendly staff, and world class food. Can’t say enough good things about the mushroom/potato appetizer, the grilled sea bass, and the loin/meatball entree...can’t wait to go back
Executive T — Google review
Very poor experience! I highly advise against it. We went there for New Year's, and we paid 100€/ adult and 75€/ child, including a 5 years old. The menu promised included 4 courses: an appetiser, shrimps with some sauce, a pastry and a main course + New Year's special dessert, and unlimited soft and alcoholic drinks. We got an appetiser with 5 spoons of different dishes, one pastry they put with a claw on each plate, the shrimps were half of baby shrimp for each person and the main course which was a piece of overcooked meat with some bad sauce and a lot of rice. The special desert was a small pastry filled with halva. The unlimited drinks were wine, vodka tonic, gin tonic, still and sparkling water, lipton ice tea, and Sprite. They ran out of tonic, wine, and sparkling water by 11:00 PM and tried to charge us for extra wine and sparkling water. At midnight, they gave us a bottle of proseco for 15 people and tried to charge us 300€ for it, even if it was included. All though there were plenty of English speaking waiters, we got one that couldn't understand one word of English. We gave him a tip of 100 €, and at the end, another waiter who was drunk and had nothing to do with our table came begging for money and cigarettes. For entertainment, there was a belly dancer who wouldn't leave until all the men paid her

The starters we got were delicious yet they did forget one. We got the mixed grilled meats, steak was cold and over cooked but rest were really good. Most of the cocktails on the menu and the whiskeys they did not have and the wine they served us was burnt. And service was rushed and pretty poor. View was amazing!! Also worth noting it is not in this location that it shows on google maps. It is up the hill.
Terrence D — Google review
Really wanted to like this place. Sadly the food was overpriced and bad. I ordered the Seafood Pasta. It was so overcooked the noodles tasted like instant noodles. The prawns were the frozen type and the squid was not fresh at all. I didn't finish my main meal. And what was most upsetting was that there were barely any ingredients in a dish that cost over 400 turkish lira. Furthermore, the cover charge was 95 Lira per pax but the bread served was stale. The service charge was a mandatory 10% even though the service was just okay. They were welcoming and polite but clearly didn't care how poor the quality of the food was. The only thing that was nice was the view. But with a couple smoking right next to the window it was not a great place to sit either. The music - some Turkish dance pop - was way too loud and didn't have the right vibe. They were trying to make it more of a place to drink than eat somehow which doesn't seem right. The building itself was old. To get to the top you need to take the lift / stairs but the lift wasn't working and the lights were off. Imagine going down stairs in darkness. Overall it was a huge disappointment and unfortunately I would not recommend anyone to come here. Save your wallet and stomach the hassle and avoid this place ! You'll feel better for it.
Liyin S — Google review
Absolute disaster – avoid at all costs! We came to what looked like a promising restaurant with a beautiful view, but the experience was appalling from start to finish. The entire place was run by one single person – the cook, the barman, the DJ, the waiter – all in one. We were the only customers, and it quickly became obvious why. It took 45 minutes for our food to arrive, and everything was clearly frozen food. The taste was utterly disappointing. To make matters worse, the restaurant’s payment system completely crashed, making the whole process painfully slow and frustrating (and with the intention of pushing us to pay by cash). Great view, yes – but absolutely not worth wasting your time or money here. The worst dining experience I’ve ever had in Istanbul.
Solène M — Google review
*Do not recommend* Would give zero stars if I could. The waiters are completely disinterested. But why would they with a automatic 10% service charge? The hummus was tasteless, and the lamb had the consistency of cardboard and tasted the same. Overpriced, overcooked, underseasoned, this was possibly the worst meal I've had in Istambul. Other than the view, do avoid this place. We were drawn to it from the reviews but failed to check that most were from 5 years ago. Avoid at all costs.
Joshua — Google review
Its a gorgeous setting and we had a great experience. The reason I gave 4 stars is that the food is good but not amazing. Service was very attentive and we had a great table by the edge with incredible views. The food was nice and fresh, but I have had better food in Istanbul. Go for the view for sure. The price is also reasonable. It was $150 USD for 4 of us with lots of food and wine. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit. Make a reservation if you can for the best views.

It’s a scam! Run away !! Apparently the restaurant had different owner! The name its not Leb-i Derya anymore its called Endam They tried to scam us by adding more dishes to the bill. be Aware!!!! Most of the items on the menu are not available The only positive thing is the view! Update: 🔴 This is an honest review If you have been operating under Endam then change the name on google map don’t live on someone else legacy !! We didn’t order the smoked salmon though it was add to our bill! They are big scammers check the bill and the quantities of the items .

Firuzende Galata is a charming restaurant located on the rooftop of Anemon Galata Hotel, offering stunning views of the famous Galata Tower. It's a casual eatery with a terrace that specializes in homemade pasta dishes and desserts. Visitors can enjoy the spectacular scenery while indulging in delicious Turkish cuisine at reasonable prices. The staff is known for being friendly and accommodating, adding to the overall pleasant dining experience.
Firuzande is, for me, undeniably one of the best in Istanbul. With its kind staff, delicious food, and exquisite musical taste, it's a wonderful place I always enjoy visiting. I'm 100% certain that everyone who sees this recommendation will be delighted. I always prefer their cocktails and wines. However, they also have a superb cuisine that caters to all tastes. Being at the bottom of this restaurant, we looked at the menu that was hanging on the wall at the entrance. We liked the prices and climbed to the top. There is no doubt that it was very beautiful here, on the one hand the view of the tower, and on the other side of the cafe there is a stunning view of Istanbul. We sat down at the table and when the menu was brought to us, the price of 150+ lira was different from the menu below. But since we really wanted a cheesecake and the view was beautiful, we didn’t leave. Cheesecake and cocktail were really delicious, we left the restaurant satisfied.

I wanted to celebrate my spouse’s birthday at a place closest to Galata Tower. The view, ambiance, and service were truly wonderful. The waitstaff and attendants were extremely attentive, humble, and professional, which made our evening even more enjoyable. For starters, we had lentil soup (295₺). Then my spouse chose chicken stuffed with tongue cheese and spinach (1100₺), and I had the oven-baked Norwegian salmon with orange (1300₺). The salmon was so fresh and delicious that I considered ordering another portion. My spouse also loved their dish. Since they are usually quite selective about food, I knew I had found the right place when they said, “This is really good.” The prices are higher than usual, but being so close to Galata Tower with such a breathtaking view makes it easy to overlook them. Thanks to the entire team for their effort—well done, friends!

The only good thing about this place is the view. Staff rude, overpriced very average food. Smell coming out of the bathroom not flattering. Give the hummus a miss, came with little bread and the salmon over cooked and very average. Salad with avocado mainly lettuce leaves with no dressing and mushroom pasta lacking sauce and flavour. Sorry only photo of the oil to dip the bread. Surcharge for drinks per person and 10% service charge ridiculous Honestly give it a miss.

The place is lovely, nice garden and placement for the restaurant. Cool atmosphere. Food was just ok, I tried Salmon tartar that was very bad (rice on the base that was almost uncooked and the salmon and avocado tasteless. As second dishes grill sea bass almost burned and the risotto with asparagus that was nice. I guess I will go for drinks but not for meals.

Despite the current times, it was a very pleasant visit. They currently don’t take booking, they have a walk-in system where you put your name down and after a short wait they seat you inside. Once inside you can opt to be put on a waitlist to sit outside. The setting is really nice and rustic and the tables are well distanced. There was a nice evening crowd and a good energy in the ambience. The food was very good, I commend their kitchen. The risotto was prepared freshly and the salmon well sourced - not to mention a generous portion too. The prices are reasonable also. The views over Istanbul are lovely. When times are better there is an outdoor bar where people can be stood.

Food does not worth the money, also they have told us that we had to order for a minimum order of 1500 tl per person for breakfast which is ridiculous. If the food and service would have been nice perhaps we would have considered, but it is just pretentious and nothing else..

Waiters - all of them are super nice, know their menu so well. We were suggested urla wurla wine and it was amazing. Food quality is super high. For example We ordered cheese with fig , everything was fresh even the strawberries on the plate. Menu is various. View is just breathtaking!!!! AWESOME BREAKFAST :) ... We stayed near backyard and to be honest I was not sure about visiting the place as it looks quite posh. However today we decided to give it a try and it was the right decision: Eggs with Ground Beef: fantastic dish. Comes with yoghurt on side. Could have been a little bit spicy but still a great dish. Menemen: Fatastic as well. The green pepper gave the whole dish a special kick but could have been a little more. Spinach & egg tartine + Avocado & egg tartine: I liked the spinach version much better as this was something new and the combo was great. Avocado were delicious as well. Backyard pancake: AWESOME. You definitely need to try this variety. Great combo :) Service and food quality was awesome. Price is a bit high but considering to be in bebek I guess that was still reasonable.

Nova Santiye Cafe, located in Turkey, offers a perfect dining experience with its traditional Mediterranean and Turkish cuisine. The menu includes tasty zeama and nicely cooked peka, along with flavorful coffee and great tea. The cafe provides an amazing view from the terrace, where guests can also take pictures in a Turkish setup. While the menu is simple, some suggest improvements such as more options on the menu and English-speaking staff.
Don't skip this place if visiting the city. It's a lovely roof top restaurant with friendly stuff members. They even were happy to take us some photos. The food was delicious too. Prices reasonable. And the most magnificent view over the city. It was stunning. We spent literally over 3 hours just chilling, eating, drinking and of course taking hundreds of pictures lol There's this photo corner, with Turkish style set up, reason why the most people choose this place. It costs 30e per person to be able to enter the area and take pictures. We decided not to do it. But there's the same beautiful view from upstairs roof top where we kept our cameras busy anyway. So yeah Over all we liked it there a loooot Fully recommended :)

This place is great to take pictures on the rooftop for 30 euros. The second took better pictures and videos than the first guy. So just request the shorter guy. I wish I would have took the pictures with the other backgrounds and set up but I was just so tired. It’s worth the visit and afterwards you can grab something to eat inside or on the rooftop and smoke hookah.

Very nice rooftop café – we went there to watch the sunset over the Bosporus and it was absolutely beautiful. When we arrived, we were the only ones on the rooftop, which made it feel really special. It can get pretty windy up there, but they offer blankets which was a nice touch.

Beautiful Views but Be Cautious with Payments This place is absolutely stunning! I found it online for a shoot and decided to visit, and it was definitely worth the trip. The views are breathtaking, making it a perfect spot for pictures. If you’re planning a photoshoot, be sure to ask the staff for a carpet. The pricing is on the higher side, starting at €30, but I found the €80 option to be the best value. Mr. Lucky was incredibly kind and took amazing pictures, making the experience enjoyable. They also offer a wide range of traditional and Western outfits for the photoshoot. However, the experience was tainted by the rude attitude of a female staff member, which was disappointing from the start. Additionally, we were overcharged—6480 Turkish lira instead of the agreed 5400 Turkish lira. This felt like a deliberate trick, so I strongly advise being extra cautious when making payments. Overall, the place is worth visiting for the views and photos, but double-check your bill to avoid being overcharged.

The food is discussing. They literally served me toast made with cheap processed bread and French fries drenched in seed oils, one of the worst meals I’ve ever been presented with. I couldn’t even bring myself to eat it. The coffee was just as bad. I ordered an espresso, yet they brought me an Americano in a small cup. We spent 3500 lira (around 75 EUR). Biggest waste of money in the entire trip. You should only go there for the view

Great place for pics. Not for food! We just ordered something to drink and smoke (hookah). But there were couple of tables next to us complaining about food. Place is quite old, needs some refreshing. Atmosphere is not the best one, there is no music and you can hear music from other terraces close by. The quality of the Hookah was very low. Next time we will probably look for other options.

Our group of five ordered Turkish tea, the signature sweet, and a chicken platter at kubbe-i Aşk .The food was decent but overpriced, and the staff was average. We requested a charging station for a friend’s dead phone, but the provided power bank was faulty. After an hour, the replacement only charged 5%. Shockingly, they added a power bank usage fee to our bill without prior notice. When we raised this, the staff turned rude, claiming we should’ve known. I wouldn’t return—disappointing experience.

Nestled atop the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts, Monkey’s Club Taksim is a vibrant rooftop venue that captures the essence of Istanbul's cultural heartbeat. This trendy spot in Sishane offers an impressive terrace with breathtaking views of the Golden Horn and Historical Peninsula, making it a perfect place to unwind. While it may not cater to bohemian artists due to its upscale vibe, it's frequented by creative individuals who appreciate quality surroundings.
Gender balance is great, most of the customers are girls, safe from disturbing guys. The stuff is nice and cool. Prices are reasonable and the DJ is good.

I visited the club with my best friend and while the night started off well, it quickly turned uncomfortable due to persistent harassment from an short older man seated behind us. Despite politely declining his advances multiple times, he continued to bother us with inappropriate comments and touches in our shoulders. Security and staff acknowledged the issue but instead of removing him, only told him to stop. And when he didnt stopped, we were the ones asked to change tables or leave even though we were trying completely to just ignores him and keep dancing for ourselves... but eventually when we noticed that nobody would take terms we left. The club itself is tucked away off the main street and we only noticed it thanks to the fun creative promoters outside. Music is mostly turkish pop and the atmosphere was lively. If you’re into local party vibes, it’s worth a visit!! But unfortunately, women might feel pressured to entertain unwanted attention unless accompanied by a man.

Can't recommend I'm afraid. Went here with two other young male friends, as soon as we were in we were very aggressively told where to stand, and then again aggressively told off for moving from our place. They then tried to make us buy drinks for an extortionate price (we'd been in town a couple days and knew roughly what it should cost) at which point we just left. Honest advice? Don't waste your time with it.

Simone Bar Food Wine is a rooftop restaurant and bar located in the historic Asmali Mescit area of Istanbul. The restaurant offers a unique dining experience with its seasonal menu featuring homemade ingredients and shared plates. One of its main attractions is the breathtaking view of the Galata Tower and the old city, especially enjoyable at sunset. The restaurant has been praised for its excellent food, service, and atmosphere, making it a potential candidate for Michelin recognition.
What a special special experience. Sunset views of Istanbul for days and food was outstanding. Don't skip dessert, it was our favorite course. Highly recommend.

We never go twice in the same place when we are on vacation. However, the vibe and the food are so special that we actually ended up dining for two night in a row at Simone’s. Thanks to Husnu who made our experiences so special! We will surely come back. Your Italian friends ;)

Simome restaurant in Turkey is a gem that excels in multiple aspects. The service is beautiful, ensuring a welcoming and attentive experience. The staff, known for their warmth and professionalism, contribute to a delightful dining experience. The food is original, offering unique flavors and creative presentations that make each dish memorable. The atmosphere is equally impressive, combining a comfortable and stylish setting with great music that enhances the overall ambiance. It's a place where every detail comes together to provide an exceptional dining experience.

My favorite rooftop bar in the Beyoglu neighborhood. Great food and cocktails at a reasonable price- not to forget the splendid view of the historic peninsula and Galata Tower. Be sure to try the stuffed squash blossoms with goat cheese and their sour and refreshing Verde cocktail. Reservations are recommended on weekends. It is located on the sixth floor of the Ruz Hotel.

Looking for the perfect spot to kick off your evening in Asmalı Mescit? Look no further than Simone! Step into Simone and prepare to be wowed by a culinary journey full of delightful surprises. The kitchen here is a treasure trove of mouthwatering dishes, each expertly crafted and beautifully presented. From the first bite, you'll be transported to a world of unforgettable flavors. For starters, indulge in the tantalizing tempura zucchini flower and tender octopus, true highlights of the evening. However, while the cağ kebap fell short, being a tad overcooked and too firm for our liking. But fear not, because the impeccable service at Simone more than makes up for any minor culinary missteps. Coupled with its stylish interior, it's a dining experience deserving of a five-star rating. Simone truly sets the stage for an unforgettable night out on the town.

Amazing rooftop restaurant with great views over Istanbul. We had the truffle burrata, patatas bravas, hummus and lamb. Everything was delicious, they even made special adjustments for my partner's nut allergy so that he could enjoy more of the dishes. Highly recommended coming for sunset, you won't regret it.

The service here was so amazing! Everyone was so kind and attentive, when a table with a better view opened up they asked us if we wanted to move to it. The food and drinks were all very good and reasonably priced for an upscale, rooftop bar. Highly recommend both for dinner and drinks!

Mesai Karaköy is a rooftop restaurant and bar in Istanbul that offers amazing food, great views, and superb service. The menu features a variety of both fish and meat dishes, with the standout being the special mezze called Mudur. The restaurant also caters to gluten-free diners by offering all mezzes as gluten-free options. Visitors are recommended to order 4-5 mezzes for 2 people to share along with main dishes.
We went here on the recommendation of my friend. and we really liked it. appetizers and meals were very very tasty and fresh. We had an unforgettable evening at Mesai. The food quality was great, the atmosphere and ambiance outstanding. Staff were kind and attentive too. Highly recommended for a modern Turkish Raki dinner. Spent the new year 2024 celebrations here, which didn’t start on a good note. They messed up our reservation and they conveyed this in a severely impolite way. However it seems their staff is not trained in English or service in English - only a few are. Thus things may have been lost in translation. Having said that. This was one of the best meals we had in Istanbul, the food was perfectly prepared and tastes wonderful. The short ribs were tender and with the right amount of fat, the sashimi and artichoke was at good acidity levels which served as a good appetizer. The desert cake was the best - a small Black Forest cake with sour cherries. Breakfast has a good spread of buffet with Turkish local dishes and western. The views are great, especially in the second floor - the roof has wonderful views of the strait and the grand mosques. This was a great view during the NYE celebrations. Atmosphere was great. Overall a five star, but due to the service I give it one star less. For the restaurant, please train your staff better. This is a super hotspot for tourists, your staff better learn better English for service.

Our first day at this restaurant was on Saturday and they were fully booked. We managed to get a seat in their breakfast area which was quiet and good. Service was good, food was good and even staffs were good especially girls. They had a smile on face and friendly. Things went totally downhill from the second day. Let me breakdown each and every bit in a separate section: Reservation: It's a good idea to book the table in advance especially on weekend. They get quite busy from hotel people and even outside people. We booked our table in advance for 3 days as we stayed in their hotel. They changed our table everyday which was good at least we get a different view and experience. Views: This place is well located and their restaurant is on the 2nd floor which gives a good view of the city. Ambience and atmosphere is good in night time. We can easily see 2-3 mosques lit up during night and it's surroundings which makes a romantic dinner location. Food: We didn't try their starter. So can't say anything about starter. We tried their main dishes which was good especially their lamb. Lamb was soft , juicy and properly cooked. Quality of main dishes was good and portion was sufficient. However I didn't see any vegetarian dishes in their menu. It would have been nice to have some vegetables as a side dish. Cons: 1. They add 10% service charge on the bill and it's fixed which I find it weird. Service charge should be optional and it depends upon the customer whether they want to pay or not. There isn't much information regarding service charge. It came as a surprise to us. The service they provided wasn't extraordinary very standard. See below comment on why. 2. Being a classy restaurant they should provide a printed menu. But here it's all about scanning QR code and sitting looking at your mobiles.. 3. Waiters are unfriendly and unwelcoming. Waiters made no effort to talk to us whilst we dinned, no interaction, not much of a friendly smile either considering we ate there more than once. Still we pay service charge which is not justifiable. 4. We were told that there is a dress code to the restaurant no shorts or trainers. However the waiters and manager were wearing trainers. This to us was double standards. 5. There should be a smoking area and a non smoking area regardless of the restaurant been open top. I find it unpleasant to be seat next to someone who's smoking around me. Not only the smell but it's makes you feel sick especially with not much air floating around. My hair and clothes smelt very bad on our last night. Overall, once you are paying a higher amount for food and service. Customer do expect good service and friendly staff.

Amazing food, great views and superb service , must visit place in Karaköy.👍🏼 The food is amazing, really delicious. Best mezze is by far called “Müdür”, this is a special mezze which you will only find here. The menu has a lot of variety both fish and meat dishes. They offer all the mezze’s as gluten free if you tell them you have gluten allergy, which makes this place really unique. I would recommend to order 4-5 mezze for 2 people to share and main dishes. After 9:30pm, Turkish music plays and people start to dance next to their tables. It’s not a nightclub necessarily but it’s an authentic experience to see, since you will most likely find locals. The views are also great and everything inside is super luxurious. Apart from food, music and atmosphere being super nice, service is excellent 👍🏼👏🏼 They are super fast, friendly and caring. The staff will take care of all your needs.

Update: after visiting some other restaurants and having much better breakfast feast for closer to $300-350 TL, I had to update this review to 2 stars. This breakfast at Mesai is clearly just gouging tourists. Original: Dropped by for breakfast this morning and really enjoyed the food. It’s a bit pricey (600 lira which converted to about $50 and change CAD), but a beautiful room and nice food served buffet style. For the price I would have liked some better hot food options as well; no eggs, halloumi or sujuk sausage.

But even if i wasn’t a guest i would’ve chosen this restaurant not only for the splendid views of Istanbul but also because of the delicious food and my favorite cuisine and meals, the roka salatesi and pizza funghi :)) their breakfast has the biggest selection and their menu offers great dishes, the staff is awesome, thanks to Halit and Zehra for the wonderful service, it was a great dining experience ❤️

The Buyuk Londra Hotel's Terrace Bar offers a glimpse into the past, evoking the glamour of Istanbul's heyday as a stop on the Orient Express. The bar's decor, with heavy drapes, wood paneling, and gilt furniture, transports visitors to a bygone era. In summer, guests can ascend to the splendid rooftop bar for breathtaking views of the Golden Horn and old city.
☕ **Review of Büyük Londra Hotel's Terrace Bar, Istanbul** 🌆✨ Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Büyük Londra Hotel's Terrace Bar is an absolute gem in Istanbul! I was genuinely impressed by the entire hotel, but the rooftop café is the cherry on top. The view? Absolutely stunning. The atmosphere? On another level. On a stressful day, this spot felt like the perfect escape, offering calm and comfort with every sip. If you're in Istanbul, you *have* to find this place. Even if you're not feeling the magic in the air, you're guaranteed a fantastic coffee with one of the best views of the city—definitely not a bad consolation prize! As an International Remote Personal Trainer and Life Coach, I appreciate spaces that allow you to take a breath and reset, and the Terrace Bar does exactly that. Whether you're looking for a quiet moment or a new spot to enjoy the city skyline, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommend grabbing a coffee and soaking in the view—you won’t be disappointed!

Klein Garten, located in Beyoglu, offers a unique summer and music experience with its KLEIN.garten terrace. This rooftop venue provides a break from the city's hustle and bustle, offering daily performances that transport visitors to another world through dance and music. With a stunning view of the Golden Horn, this sky garden complements Istanbul's cultural roots. While some have noted issues with sound quality, others praise the cool vibe and amazing music on this rooftop hotspot.
This has been, without a doubt, the most enjoyable nightclub experience I've ever had. The service was impeccable, and the spacious atmosphere made for a truly comfortable evening. The drinks were reasonably priced for a luxury venue, and the cocktails were exceptionally well-crafted. The security team was top-notch—both professional and approachable. One of them even lit my cigarette when they noticed I was searching for my lighter, a small but thoughtful gesture that shows just how attentive and considerate they are. As for the music and DJ performances, they were nothing short of sublime. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

Caroline Z — Google review
Hi, I would like to share this experience I had today, as this is the first time I have encountered such a situation. Today, I was denied entry to the venue solely because I was alone. Despite engaging in several discussions and attempting different approaches, I was ultimately still refused entry. Having frequented clubs around the world, I have never encountered bouncers as rude and dismissive as those at this venue (manager: Berfin). The discriminatory policy, reflects poorly on the management of the club, especially given the negative reviews on Google, TripAdvisor, and Reddit, which already highlight the club’s declining reputation. On top, the club was notably underpopulated today (friends of mine went before me in), making this policy seem particularly unjustified. While I can understand the need for certain measures in cases where the club is overcrowded or male-dominated, I believe that an effective and well-trained staff should be able to assess individuals based on their demeanor, behavior, and overall fit for the environment - regardless of gender. I sincerely hope that the management reconsiders its current entry strategy and takes this feedback into account rather than disregarding it - Thank you!

How this place is still working, probably only because on view. Extremely rude stuff. Price for the small portion of chicken 17$, really? Cocktails for 23$. In Franki we can pay this price. But Franki it’s highly level, not like you. The waiter was asking bill in the middle of our evening, like we were planning to run away? We were at list people who were making orders, and not drinking 1 bottles of beer. Only young people. Even escort girls there are so so. You are present yourself like super place, but it’s not. Thanks to the waiters we not gonna come back

If you're looking for a place to enjoy an amazing view of Istanbul while dining on delicious food, look no further than Amiralto Rooftop Restaurant & Bar. This gorgeous spot can be found in the heart of Cihangir and has an unbeatable view of the city skyline. The drinks are reasonably priced, but the food can be quite pricey, so it's best to plan your meal ahead.
We stumbled on the Amiralto and ended coming back several nights in a row. Wonderful views, chic but laid-back atmosphere, never overcrowded, and good value for money. The staff were wonderful and made every effort to accommodate us. Highly recommended for relaxed sundowners and evening dining.

A little bit pricy when compared to other rooftop bars, but its view should be one of the most unblocking one in the area.

Absoloutley awful, was charged £16 for a vodka slushie and the service was terrible. We were forced to pay a 10% service charge for bad food and told you cannot split the bill, but this was not stated when we made the order. They finally let us split the order after arguing for 20 minutes, so it is possible they just dont want to do it.

For sure the view is nice but there's a number of terraces right next to this one. The food was overpriced for what you get, but maybe not drastically. The bread was fairly stale and the salad wasn't particularly fresh. The portions aren't the biggest.

Galata Tower, a restored 14th-century tower in Istanbul, offers breathtaking views of the city from its top-floor restaurant. Situated in a central location near Istiklal Avenue, it provides easy access to the vibrant Galata neighborhood with its boutique cafes, colorful streets, and music instrument shops. The tower's cylindrical shape and panoramic views make it a must-visit attraction for families and travelers exploring Istanbul.
Galata Tower Review - A Must-Visit Landmark with a Few Drawbacks Visiting Galata Tower was an absolutely wonderful experience! The panoramic views from the top are breathtaking, offering a 360-degree glimpse of Istanbul’s unique blend of history and modernity. Inside, the exhibitions were well-curated, featuring everything from ancient amphorae to Ottoman naval models, and even modern Turkish aerospace history. The newly renovated interior dome and observation deck were elegant and peaceful, despite the number of visitors. However, I must point out a few **frustrations** that may affect your visit: Misleading “Skip-the-Line” Ticket - I purchased my ticket through Headout, which was advertised as a “skip-the-line” option. Unfortunately, this was not true. I still had to queue with everyone else - no separate line or fast entry - even though others who bought directly from the official site paid less. It felt unfair and misleading. No Shelter While Queuing - Another downside was the **lack of shelter** outside while waiting to enter. If you’re visiting on a rainy or very hot day, **be prepared**—there’s absolutely no cover while you stand in line. Summary: Highlights: Historic tower, great exhibits, stunning city view Ticket tip: Buy from the official Galata Kulesi site instead of third-party vendors Be prepared: Arrive early, wear comfy shoes, and check the weather Would I still recommend it? Absolutely yes—but go in knowing what to expect.
Lee — Google review
This medieval stone tower is one of the great symbols of the city. It is very beautiful to observe from the outside, especially when the lights come on at dusk, which creates a special atmosphere. The climb up to it, depending on the route, is quite steep, so prepare your legs, but the effort is worth it. The most famous street for taking that classic photo with the tower in the background is Büyük Hendek Cd., but be prepared: it is usually super crowded. I didn't go inside, but the visit is paid, and the ticket currently isn't the cheapest for tourists. In any case, just its external architecture, with the conical roof, is already impressive.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️☆☆☆☆☆☆☆♡♡♡♡♡♡♡ A timeless icon in the heart of Istanbul! The Galata Tower is an absolute must-see. Originally built in 1348 during the Genoese colony period and once called the Christea Turris (Tower of Christ), it’s now 677 years old—and still standing strong. The views from the top are breathtaking, and the history woven into its stones makes the experience unforgettable. Whether you're a history buff or just looking for a great photo op, this landmark delivers. Another bucket list!
Connected_to_culture — Google review
Galata Tower is a beautiful and truly historic landmark that offers a wonderful glimpse into Istanbul’s past. The tower and its surroundings are charming, and the view from the top is definitely worth seeing. The area is always lively and full of energy — even on weekdays, it can get quite crowded. There are plenty of cafés and restaurants nearby, offering a wide variety of food and drinks, which makes it a great spot to spend an afternoon exploring and relaxing. The only downside is that the place could use a bit more attention when it comes to cleanliness — some corners aren’t as tidy as they should be. Still, it’s a must-visit attraction and an unforgettable part of Istanbul’s charm.
Mahmoud D — Google review
Galata Tower rises proudly over Istanbul’s skyline, a timeless stone guardian watching centuries of history unfold. Standing at the edge of Beyoğlu and overlooking the Golden Horn, this cylindrical medieval tower is not merely an architectural treasure but a symbol of the city’s layered soul—Byzantine roots, Genoese influence, Ottoman legacy, and the vibrant pulse of modern Türkiye all converge here. Approaching the tower through narrow cobbled streets, lined with cafés and antique shops, instantly sets the mood: an old-world charm meets youthful, artistic energy. The moment you enter, the structure’s thickness and cool stone transport you back in time. The elevator and short stair climb bring you to one of Istanbul’s most unforgettable viewpoints. The panoramic terrace offers a breathtaking 360-degree view—Sultanahmet’s domes and minarets shimmering across the Bosphorus, the Bosphorus Bridge stretching like a silver thread, and Galata’s rooftops cascading down to the water. Each direction feels like a painting: ferries cutting through the strait, seagulls gliding over golden sunsets, and the distinct hum of the city blending with the call to prayer. Visiting near dusk is particularly magical—soft orange light, a gentle breeze, and that indescribable moment when Istanbul feels suspended between old and new worlds. No visit to Galata Tower is complete without reflecting on the legendary story of Hezarfen Ahmet Çelebi, the daring Ottoman aviation pioneer. According to historical chronicles, in the 17th century he attached wooden wings inspired by bird flight, leaped from Galata Tower, and glided across the Bosphorus—landing in Üsküdar. Whether this tale is myth or early engineering brilliance, it embodies the innovative spirit, ambition, and courage deeply woven into Turkish history. Standing atop the tower, imagining that flight from stone battlement to Asian shores, adds a poetic dimension to the experience. Inside, curated displays and multimedia elements recount Galata Tower’s transformation—from a medieval watchtower to an observatory, a prison, and eventually one of Istanbul’s most treasured landmarks. The café and restaurant provide a pleasant pause, though the true feast remains the view itself. Ultimately, Galata Tower is more than a monument; it is a living narrative of Istanbul. It whispers ancient stories yet feels endlessly alive, a meeting point between dreamers and history. For travelers seeking a place where legend, beauty, and imagination converge, Galata Tower—and the spirit of Hezarfen—offer an experience that lingers long after you descend its steps.

A wonderful view of Istanbul from the top. You get a lift up and than can take the stairs through various museums on the way down. Treat yourself to the best San Sébastien Cake from Viyana Kahvesi. One piece of advice is that the ticket office may charge you for the audio tour package which they then give you cheap ear pods to avail of the audio tour. This just makes your visit cost more, and is not needed. Make sure just to pay for access tickets only (prices are shown). Read up on it or read the many posters in the tower to learn about it.
Iain M — Google review
A great historical place when you climb to the top you can see historic Istanbul A place worth visiting Climbing to the top of the tower is not free. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby. I highly recommend visiting it when visiting the beautiful city of Istanbul. Nearby there are important areas such as Taksim Square and Galata Port
Ali A — Google review
Galata Tower is one of the most iconic spots in Istanbul. You can go up for a small fee and enjoy the views, but honestly, the whole area around it is just as special. The streets are lively, filled with people, food, and great vibes. Right in front of the tower is the famous Viyana Kahvesi, which has some of the best cheesecake you’ll ever try. If you’re taking a taxi, they can drop you close, but there’s no direct parking by the tower, you’ll need to walk a short distance. Overall, it’s a must-visit area for both the view and the atmosphere.

The best dish I want to compliment is the dessert photographed here. It is a wonderful experience and privilege to share a meal here with friends and partners. We look forward to our return.

If you don’t drink, don’t go. It’s not worth coming just for the food. The spicy calamar sushi roll was the most average sushi I’ve ever tried. Everything else was good, but not more than that. Not worth the price. Before going I asked them if smoking is allowed indoors in the dining area and was told no, but people were smoking anyway. That was really disappointing, especially since I’m pregnant. The tables are way too close together, but the view is gorgeous.

The service here is excellent — the staff is professional, attentive, and very welcoming. The food was outstanding, but what truly makes this place unforgettable is the breathtaking view of the entire city from every angle. It’s absolutely worth it, even if you just stop by the bar for a drink while enjoying the scenery.
Mirthis S — Google review
A lovely place with a stunning view. We ordered spicy sushi — it was delicious, and the cocktails were absolutely top-notch. The service was excellent. Overall, I was very pleased. The only downside is that the tables are placed quite close to each other, so I could hear all the conversations around me. But thanks to the pleasant atmosphere and great service, it wasn’t really an issue 🫶🏻

My wife and I had dinner at this upscale restaurant. The food and service were superb. There is a nice view of the bridge and mosque from here, but be aware this restaurant is expensive.
Ahmed A — Google review
The place is gorgeous, with fabulous views of Istanbul, food and drinks are delicious. The reason why I am giving 3 stars is that I was cheated by the waiter who charged me 70$ extra by adding stuff to my bill that I didn’t order. I trusted by paying, without checking the bill. By the time I realized in the morning, I was off to airport. Çok ayıplar olsun…

A delightful place. Food, service and the view are amazing. An amazing bar with fantastic cocktails and the fusion blend of Asian and Turkish food is magical.

I’ve been to many restaurants in different cities around the world, but the experience I had here truly felt special. Even though we didn’t have a reservation, we were welcomed with such kindness, sincerity, and professionalism. Stephanie’s energy lifted our mood the moment we walked in, and we ended up spending the evening at the restaurant even though we had only planned to take a look. Her sincerity goes far beyond professionalism. The ambiance was elegant, and the view was stunning. The food was delicious — everything felt like it had its own soul and meaning. The cocktails were a whole experience on their own — perfectly balanced in flavor and beautifully presented. The service was overall flawless; the team was friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do.

If you want to enjoy the sensational views of Istanbul from a rooftop restaurant, Mükellef Karakoy is definitely worth a visit. The variety of meze and meat dishes on offer make it ideal for brunch, but the real draw is the atmosphere – it's one of the most hip restaurants in town.
If you're looking for 360 views of Istanbul with incredible food options, this is the place. Absolutely stunning atmosphere! We really enjoyed the dishes recommended by our lovely server Nejla, who was honestly, the best part of our experience. She is super friendly, warm, and welcoming. Also helped us a lot with selecting the right dishes. An evening to remember forever!

Would recommend coming with a big group instead of on a date. You need to order a bunch of different mezzes (basically turkish tapas) and it’s too much food for 2 or 3 people. We enjoyed the experience, great view — very chaotic though, more fun if you’re drunk. Best dishes were:

The food is very delicious, especially the seafood and grilled skewers. The portions are quite large—too much for 2 people, but just right for 4. Lunch is only served from 12 PM; if you arrive earlier, you’ll have to order breakfast, so be sure to let them know you’re waiting for lunch. Great view The staff is enthusiastic. Highly recommended!

This is my favorite restaurant in Istanbul. The view is truly breathtaking, and the food is always amazing. It’s located on the rooftop of a hotel. Every time we come to Istanbul, we make sure to visit at least twice. Tonight in particular, we were served by Şebnem, her warm smile, kindness, and positive energy took the whole experience to another level. Next time we come, we’ll definitely be asking for her. Good service is truly valuable these days. You absolutely must come and experience it for yourself. I highly recommend it.

We had an amazing dinner! 🌟 Mustafá was absolutely wonderful — attentive, patient, and always ready with a smile and great recommendations. His kindness and professionalism made the experience even more special. The food was simply outstanding — full of flavor, beautifully presented, a true 10/10. The ambience was just perfect: lovely music, soft lighting, and breathtaking views. A memorable evening from start to finish. Highly recommended!

Visit in July 2025. Turkey 🇹🇷 Istanbul. No visit to Istanbul is complete without indulging in a traditional Turkish breakfast, and we found the perfect spot to do so at one of the city’s most breathtaking locations. Perched with a panoramic view of the city, this restaurant is nothing short of a dream in warm weather, offering a feast for both the eyes and the palate. FOOD: Arriving during breakfast hours, we discovered that the sole option is the iconic Turkish breakfast—a sprawling spread of small plates that proved too much for the two of us to conquer. The menu is fixed, with the only choice being how you’d like your eggs prepared. What follows is a parade of dishes: an assortment of spreads and meze, olives, cheeses, petite pastries stuffed with meat or cheese, fresh bread, greens, and crisp vegetables. A few items didn’t quite hit the mark, but the majority were undeniably delicious. Everything tasted fresh, with vibrant, crunchy vegetables stealing the show. The standout was the flaky phyllo pastries, generously filled—particularly the meat-filled ones, which became our instant favorite. Unlimited Turkish tea and water rounded out the experience, adding a comforting touch. SERVICE: The service was commendable, with dishes arriving promptly. The restaurant’s atmosphere, elevated by its stunning surroundings, made for a thoroughly enjoyable meal. VERDICT: I strongly recommend experiencing this Turkish breakfast at least once. It’s a culinary adventure brimming with new flavors, and we left thoroughly satisfied. The unparalleled view of Istanbul adds an extra layer of magic to the experience. While the price may be a touch higher than at many local cafés, the quality and ambiance make it well worth the splurge.

I had been hearing about Mükellef Karaköy for a while, and finally decided to go for dinner with a close friend — and I’m so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, I knew it was going to be more than just a nice meal. It turned out to be one of the most enjoyable and flavorful dining experiences I’ve had in Istanbul. We arrived just before sunset, and the timing couldn't have been better. The rooftop view was absolutely stunning — overlooking the Golden Horn as the sky slowly turned from soft orange to deep blue. The energy of the city felt close, but from up there, everything was calm and elegant. It instantly put us in a relaxed, excited mood. We started with a spread of mezes, and each one was better than the last. The fava was my personal favorite — so smooth and subtle, with just a hint of olive oil and dill. The eggplant salad (patlıcan ezmesi) had this deep, smoky flavor that made it impossible to stop dipping bread into. Their haydari was bright and creamy, and the acılı ezme added just the right kick. For mains, I ordered the grilled lamb chops, and they were perfectly cooked — juicy, flavorful, and charred just right. My friend got the octopus, and honestly, I ended up stealing a few bites because it was so tender and delicious, with a buttery mash underneath that brought everything together beautifully. We shared a fresh, citrusy greens salad on the side, which helped balance the richness of the grilled dishes, and we also tried their house cocktail — a mix of raki, citrus, and herbs — surprisingly refreshing and a great complement to the meal. And then came dessert. We had to try the katmer (crispy pastry with pistachio and clotted cream), and it did not disappoint. Warm, flaky, just sweet enough — a perfect ending to the night. We also got the oven-baked tahini halva, and I honestly can’t decide which one I liked more. The staff made the whole evening even better. They were so welcoming and attentive, always ready with suggestions or a smile, and they clearly cared about the food they were serving. The service was quick but never rushed, which really helped us enjoy the whole experience at our own pace.

Istanbul Sapphire stands as a remarkable 54-story skyscraper in the bustling Levent commercial district, making it a true icon of modern architecture in Istanbul. Not only is it the tallest tower in its area and the fourth tallest overall in the city, but it also boasts an impressive array of features. Visitors can enjoy a shopping center, luxurious residences, and even an observation terrace that offers breathtaking views along with a simulated helicopter ride experience.
An exceptional view that allows you to see almost all of Istanbul and the entire Bosphorus Strait, from the Sea of Marmara to the Black Sea. The observation deck is difficult to reach due to the mall being closed. The entrance is accessible via metro. The ticket price of 525 Turkish Liras includes the panoramic terrace and a 4D cinema experience that lets you see the entire city while flying (not suitable for those who suffer from motion sickness). There is also a cafe and restaurant at the top. Overall, I highly recommend it because it allows you to get to know Istanbul from a height of 260 meters. The place is absolutely amazing! It is best to arrive before sunset to enjoy the view and take beautiful photos. The terrace is spacious and has an outdoor and indoor section. There are huge floor-to-ceiling windows everywhere. Interestingly, we were alone and the place was not crowded. Highly recommended!

Have been stopping in Istanbul for the last few days decided to visit this place was a very good choice located on the 54th floor is an observation deck with a bistro store and toilets and a coffee store definitely worth a visit for 600 lira you can have as long as you want up there I recommend going up at sunset so you get a mixture of reviews. We did stop off and have food which was very nice. Such a shame the shopping mall has closed and apparently being Red developed into offices. Just hope the observation deck survives we went up at about 7 pm and had pretty much the whole observation to ourselves which was great for pictures. Great view of the city and beyond definitely worth a visit if you’re in Istanbul.

One word: AWFUL! The whole place is in reconstruction and renovation. It took us a while to find the entrance which is in the underground, from the metro station. Everything inside the building is closed, except 2-3 coffees and places where you can eat something. Once at the roof everything is empty and dusty, although the cafe is open. When I first visited this place about 9-10 years ago, everything was open and the place was amazing! This time, was simply AWFUL! Bottom line, if you are visiting this place only to see Istanbul from above and take a few photos, it’s fine. However, if you are looking for an experience and a good atmosphere, just skip it.

It's the highest skyscraper in Istanbul with 54 floors! We were amazed from the view that this Skyscraper offered to us! You can see literally the whole city of Istanbul and not only! There were the Black sea and Marmara sea visible as well, which made it even better, including the Bossforus(I hope I wrote it right) of course. We had and something like a mock helicopter flight over Istanbul, which was fine,I mean,it was like a cinema there, nothing special! Enjoy!

One of the few open observation desks of skyscrapers. Amazing views of Istanbul. Very few visitors which made the experience very nice and relaxing. The 4D movie was interesting but the footage is somwtimes blurry and the seats are a way too much rattling. So the deck is great, the cinema not so much.
Tanya K — Google review
May 2024, the office building was under renovation constructions, however the Panoramic view at the top was working. You can buy tickets at the first floor. At the top you have 360 View of the amazing city of İstanbul. It is wheelchair accessible, at the top you have a restaurant and toilets.
Bogdan L — Google review
Around lunch break the place was totally empty, only a few restaurants and store can be found there. Not worth to go there would recommend any other shopping center. Have read online that you can go to the roof but they will charge you a huge amount of money for that. The place from outside looks fine and its next to the metro station but the inside is..
Roland V — Google review
The shopping center is ok. This tall skyscraper looks very interesting from the outside! It's convenient that it's right next to the metro, and there's a Carrefour, a couple of cafes, a food court, a cinema, and so on. But! Every time, at least 3-4 escalators are not working, and a third, if not half, of the stores are closed. I haven't been to the observation deck, so I can't say anything about it.

Mangerie, situated in the Bebek area of Istanbul, offers a modern dining experience with picturesque views of the Bosphorus Strait. The restaurant is known for its traditional Turkish breakfast served on the third floor, featuring a variety of delectable items such as eggs, jam, olives, and honey with granola slices.
Super cool spot in Bebek! 🌊☕✨ Such an Insta-worthy coffee 📸☕ with an amazing view! 😍 The desserts were good 🍰, cocktails were okay 🍸, and the food was nice 🍽️. 💰 Quite expensive, but that’s expected in Bebek. 🚗 They have valet service, but parking is problematic if you don’t use it. Be prepared—valet is expensive! 💸 🌙 During Ramadan, no reservation needed if you’re not here for iftar. Otherwise, outside of Ramadan, it’s usually crowded, but now it’s chill and easy to find a spot! Would definitely recommend for the view & vibes! 🤩✨ The staff were also quite friendly!

A cool spot to enjoy a sunny day! Staff are friendly and food is good! I recommend visiting this place if you’re looking to have a chill time and enjoy good food without looking for a photographable atmosphere.
M. S — Google review
A timeless spot with a view and soul. Mangerie is one of those rare gems in Istanbul that effortlessly blends a premium atmosphere with genuinely good food and an unforgettable view. The breakfast is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated — everything feels curated with care, not rushed or commercial. The vibe is chic yet grounded, drawing in locals who appreciate quality and consistency. Now, let’s talk about the owner — yes, he comes off as a bit sharp at times, but I also get it. Running a high-end, well-known establishment in such a busy and sometimes entitled scene must be draining. I sensed that he’s deeply protective of the space he’s built, and maybe that edge is just his way of filtering out the noise. Respect. If you come in with good energy, you’ll get the same in return. Treat the place with the class it deserves, and you’ll have an experience to remember. Highly recommended — but not for tourists expecting to be spoon-fed. This place is for those who appreciate authenticity, quality, and a view worth sitting still for.
Youssuf M — Google review
It is way too expensive for what it is worth. We made a reservation. A younger clientele. The view is not that great to justify the prices but the balcony (open air part) is comfortable to meet up with friends. People are kind to shy, definitely respectful. Still I paid 25 dollars for an old fashioned, it may be due to extraordinary taxes.
Selim K — Google review
This is a place that truly knows what it does best, and it does it consistently well. I’ve been coming here since 2007 for a reason: no frills, no gimmicks, just great food and welcoming service. You always know what you’re going to get here, and that’s exactly why people keep coming back. It’s refreshing to have a spot that stays true to itself and delivers every time. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates a place in the middle of this chaotic town with good view, well-prepared food and a relaxed atmosphere.
Samira S — Google review
Great place. Excellent ingredients, flawless preparations, chic layback ambience, and beautiful views. The owner is super friendly we had a nice conversation with him and we treated us with one of his specials. I’d absolutely recommend this place.
Ivan P — Google review
Good location. Below average quality(we got coffee). ABSURD prices. 6-7$ for a coffee, 20$ for a cocktail… Don’t forget the imposed 10% service fee. What a joke. Avoid this place
Arda O — Google review
Quality of food and service was generally good, ingredients they use were of good quality and fresh. Juices were good too, although definitely on the pricy side. However, there’s nothing special with food in terms of taste, presentation or dishes. It was pretty overpriced in terms of food, however you’re paying a premium for the location and the view of Bosphorus, although somewhat obstructed. Interior decor is at a very minimal, with zero effort for the terrace. Overall a good place for the view but I wouldn’t go there just for the food or service or interior decor.
