A friend of mine showed me this place one night and we ended up eating here the next 3 nights for the rest of our trip! Even if we were all the way on the other European side, we always found ourselves gravitating towards this restaurant. The prices are reasonable, the food is tasty, and the staff are sweet, what more could you ask for? Generously, the meal would start with bread and ezme and end with baklava. Lentil soup, eggplant salad, and menemen were some of our go-tos. The adana kebab and chicken were also winners! I would give more stars if I could haha. I’m going to miss the good vibes of the kind gentleman, teşekkürler!!

The spicy Kebap was delicious and well priced. Complimentary tea, a free appetizer and a little baklava despite me not ordering much. Waiter was a little pushy like many in the city, but service was quick and otherwise friendly. Strongly recommend!

This was definitely the best value-for-money dinner I had in Istanbul! I had the spicy kebab and an aubergine 'salad' (cooked with tomatoes and capsicum) which were really yummy and both good portion sizes. The meal came to 520 in total including my drink. Owner and staff were very friendly, and they even gave baklava, starters and tea for free. There is free Wi-Fi. Overall a pleasant experience.

Mevlana Kebap Lahmacun Salonu is a fantastic choice if you’re looking for authentic Turkish food without overspending. Located in Fatih, it serves generous portions of tasty lahmacun, kebabs, and more—typically costing around ₺200–₺400 per person. The real highlight? Complimentary appetizers like bread, followed by baklava and Turkish tea at the end—such warm hospitality adds tremendous value. The atmosphere is casual, the service friendly, and the quality consistently good. An excellent spot for both locals and visitors seeking great flavor and great prices.

Terrible experience! I do not recommend this restaurant at all. The staff were extremely rude and displayed clear racist behavior, especially towards non-Turkish customers. One of the staff gave me very unpleasant looks and made comments in Turkish. I also witnessed another customer, who was there with his family, have an argument with the staff just because he asked for an empty plate — and they wanted to charge him extra for it! Absolutely unacceptable. Very disappointing.

This place has been a part of our lives for over 25 years. My wife used to come here as a teenager, and we've been regulars together for the past 10 years since getting married. The quality has always been very good, and the service remains consistently friendly and pleasant. Prices are reasonable, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and welcoming spot. If you like Kokoreç go for it 10/10

We tried Kokoreç and Midye Dolma here, both Turkish specialties. The flavors were interesting and worth trying at least once. The Kokoreç had a nice seasoning, though I personally found the texture a bit too chewy for my taste. My girlfriend enjoyed the mussels, but for both of us it felt more like a one-time experience rather than something we’d have again. What stood out, however, was the service. Even though the setting is very casual—just tables right in the street—the waiter was attentive. When he noticed we wanted to clean our hands, he immediately brought hand sanitizer and fresh towels, which was a thoughtful touch. A good spot if you’re curious to try authentic local street specialties, with friendly and attentive service.

We were craving mussels and found this spot through a Google search—and it did not disappoint. The mussel dish was amazing! I’m still impressed by how they managed to stuff flavorful rice inside each mussel without overcooking the meat. I also tried the meat-stuffed bread, which was delicious as well. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Overall, a great find. Would definitely come back!

Absolutely delicious! Ate here at Kral Kokoreç and the food was outstanding. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The kokoreç was cooked just right—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside—and full of authentic taste. The staff was friendly, service was quick, and the atmosphere felt welcoming and local. Definitely a must-try spot if you want a true Turkish street food experience!

We tried the stuffed mussels and the large sliced Kokoreç. I enjoyed the mussels—they were tasty. The Kokoreç, on the other hand, was a bit underwhelming. I was expecting more richness in flavor and a juicier, chewier texture, but instead it felt rather dry and plain.

Flavorful dolma. Good, tendered lamb spice, and bread is very soft. Turkish tea is free. Good service and the food came within 2-3 mins. Would come back again.

The food was AWESOME if you like strong flavours, the herbs make a great combination and the general texture is very good. The staff is not that great if you're a foreigner, but it's not bad or mean, just not the usual Turkish friendliness.

Good attendance with reasonable price. It's no crowned and the Americano coffee is yummy. The guys working there are very easygoing. There isn't toilet.

I just left the restaurant around midnight. Of all the restaurants I’ve been to in Istanbul, this one had the coldest atmosphere. I’m not sure if it’s because it was closing time, but the ambiance was really chilly. I wanted to leave. The food was good. The restaurant seemed clean. The place looks nice. I told the waiter that the food was good, and he said, “Ah, okay.” I said goodbye, and no one responded. I’m keeping a healthy skepticism—maybe the first person didn’t speak English, maybe the second didn’t hear me—but from start to finish, you can feel the coldness. It feels like you’re a disturbance. Advice: smile more, be warmer, a good meal and a nice restaurant aren’t enough. What people remember is truly the warmth and kindness. I hope my comment helps fewer people leave disappointed. A simple tourist.

Perfect afternoon pick me up. Had an assortment of baklava and turkish coffee. Personal favourite was 'cold baklava', a mix of cold milk, something and baklava. Like an ice cream cake baklava. The owner was super lovely and ran us through everything. Right next to the tram line. Dance music playing inside.

Decided we wanted something sweet with our morning coffee. Tried a small sampling of delicious baklava and a coffee. The gentleman who served us was very helpful and the coffee did not disappoint. My husband had an espresso and I had a cappuccino and it was the best coffee I have had in weeks. He told us they serve Lavazza (Italian coffee)! The restaurant was clean and very inviting. We will be back!

When I came across Diyar Usta a few years back when visiting Turkey for the first time, previously known as Sugar Factory, we have tried kunefe and baklava at different places but this has by far been the best and freshest. Since then, Diyar Usta has become part of our daily routine for our everyday dessert fix when visiting Istanbul. Our favourite items that keeps us coming back for more are their kunefe, baklava, San Sebastián cheesecake and chocolate brownies. With our last visit in January 2025, we met their new waitress, Faziela, she has been such a delight to our experience, a pleasant and well spoken young lady, offering top tiered service! Thank you Faziela, you are a gem to Diyar Usta!

He didn’t buy the beige colour Turkish delight, one of them is missing even tho we told him repeatedly what we wanted. Didn’t check this until later on. Make sure to check your boxes cause you might end up with something missing

BEST DONER KEBABS IN ISTANBUL- Spicy chicken is the go to order! We found this place yesterday and had to come back for a second time. Food is incredible and service is top tier! A must go when in town!

We had a quick lunch at Sultan Doner Kebab with six people and loved it! Fresh and tasty food, served fast. The ice teas were refreshing, and the coffees and teas after the meal were excellent. Warm, welcoming atmosphere and genuine street food charm.

Best kebab in Istanbul! Service was quick and thoughtful. The man cooking saw we were running low on sauce and refilled it as it started to run low. Definitely recommend making a pit stop to eat yummy food here especially if you're in the grand bazar area.

Nice place to eat a good doner kebabs around the grand bazar!!! The attention was really kind and fast, the food was really good, you can taste the spices, if you like spicy the spicy sauce is amazing!!! The size is really good! And the complementary tea is always so nice to get!! The juices are really fresh and also good in size!

Definitely the best food in Turkey. Stayed for 12 days. Istanbul, Antalya, Capadocia. Nothing beats the kebab, tomato and butter dish of this restaurant. Must try!

Exceptional Pides! A recommendation we found online from a 2 star Michelin chef and his favourite eats in the city. The staff were so friendly, despite speaking very little english. The food was incredible, fresh, authentic and tasty. Would defiantly come again.

It is a family cafe for eating simple but tasty food with nice men taking care about you and cooking, that's where you fill like in Turkey and not in the tourist area. Prices are also much lower than anything else in the old town and nearby. It is not really a restaurant with fancy dishes, it is a canteen where you come to eat when you are hungry and you do not want to spend 1-2000L on a single meal

We came to this restaurant for its famous pide, and it was not disappointing! One little surprise was that their pide was the closed style (meat inside the bread) but not the open one like a pizza. It was delicious. Also the geen peppers were so good, properly spicy.

Food was great. Had the Kebab and the meat egg Pida. Kebab was abit gamey though. After taste is too strong. Although, you can wash it down with a drink or the yoghurt on the side. The staff was ultra friendly and helpful to offer recommendations and guidance. Watching out for us anytime.

This is the REAL one! I saw a video on TT and saved it. But forgot about it. My friend who is a local was saying they have good fish sandwiches . We got 2 for each of us and tore it up. It’s kinda like a fish burrito filled with veggies and coated with their seasoning. It looked spicy but it wasn’t. I love how the shell is crunchy. We will be going back tomorrow😂😂 I wished I went earlier in my vacation,because I would have gotten one every day. I love fish and it was a perfect meal. Not too heavy and balanced. It is popular so there was a little wait when I was there. There is indoor seating. The first time I didn’t know and thought it was only the few seats outside. So don’t be afraid to go in. It’s nice and airy. There are a lot of copy cats in the area , but my friend said there are no good and he’s right because they had no customers when we walked by. So don’t be tempted to skip the line 😂 10 out of 10. Don’t miss it.

The fish wrap was excellent! The fish was perfectly filleted, with skin and bones removed, making it easy and enjoyable to eat. I tried burek and was absolutely delighted! I really enjoyed the pastry — thin, crispy, yet soft on the inside. The filling was juicy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced in taste. It’s exactly the kind of dish that makes you want another piece, even when you’re already full.

It's number 1 in that area. Bureks are so fresh and crunchy we tried ground beef, plain, cheese and su borek all was good and recommended. Prices are very good almost 3$ one portion burek and tea.

Had the meat pie and it was absolutely AMAZING. Fresh, tasty and scrumptious, both the meat filling and the pastry were on point. Plus, the prices are very affordable and it’s quite entertaining that you can watch the baker while he makes the layered pastry sheets.

A wonderful place to rest while shopping in Spice Bazar. We had Turkish tea (Demleme çay). The tea was at the right temperature, right colour, excellent tanin concentration and more importantly, clean glass. Anyone who visits Spice Bazar must stop here for a couple of good tea.

Terrible service, I made an order of fries, after waiting for 20 minutes of watching everyone else get their orders, I go up to the same girl I ordered my fries with to ask why I am still waiting for my simple order, she said just 2 more minutes. 10 minutes later {now 30 mins have passed} I go up to ask again where is my order, the first girl that took my order was on a break, so there was another girl there, and she realised that the first girl didn't even start on my food. I was so angry. The girl that made my chips was lovely, she made it within 3 minutes, I felt bad for taking it out on her. But the first girl that took my order and another girl that was present were both terrible and rude for making me wait on an order that wasnt even processed. Avoid this place at all costs I think they are disgusting to foreigners.

We found this place accidentally but was very satisfied. The food was very good, friendly service and the view of Galata bridge from here is amazing. If you are looking for a rooftop restaurant around Galata then I recommend this one. Price is affordable. Nice atmosphere.

An amazing hidden gem. Stepped inside, took the elevator up to the roof terrace. Enjoyed coffee, tea and fresh fruit with wonderful views over the Bosphorus and Golden Horn. Prices are a little high but worth it for the views.

Best Kunefe we had in Istanbul. The experience was great as well. They offered us fresh milk among and some other snacks on the house. Not too busy, but it was kinda late.

The spot was recommended to me to try katmer. It’s a cozy dessert restaurant tucked in an alley just parallel to the famous istiklal street. The katmer itself is a good option, it’s a bit fatty/oily but not particularly “too sweet”. Came fresh & warm. The portion is relatively big though, can easily be shared by two. The apple tea was especially good & refreshing! They provide complimentary orange & carrot slices, some nuts, & milk, which was really appreciated. The milk specifically paired perfectly with the warmth & heaviness of the Katmer. The staff are attentive & friendly. The prices are reasonable considering the touristy location & the ingredients used. Katmer was 470 TL & the apple tea was 80.

Very nice small store with a cool relaxing vibe. We were offered some nuts, milk and carrots which we appreciated. The kunefe were big enough, good quality but too much butter for my taste. The price was not cheap

I’m from iraq where we have a really delicious kunafa in our country, but maaaan this is on another level, it’s the best kunafa I’ve ever eaten till now… Try the cheese one, I think it’s more delicious.. We came here for lunch three times in our week in Istanbul. The soup, freshly baked bread, and various types of pide were delicious! Cooked to perfection! And one of our group is a bread baker and pizza maker. We give them high praise! The service is warm and friendly. The shop is always full. The facilities are very clean. And you can watch the pide going into and out of the oven - fun to watch.

Authentic Turkish fast cuisine. Not flashy like other places that try to compensate. Food was tasy and fresh and the staff very helpful. Portions are large. Also, good prices both for food and for desserts. Had Durum, Pide Mix with Ayran and Baklava. Totally worth it and will return.

What a great restaurant! We have been here three times this week, walking 15-30 minutes to get here. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The pides, soups and salads are delicious and generous. We especially enjoyed the ispanakli (spinach) pide. Fabulous! The pide crusts are thin and crisp, the filling plentiful. We felt well fed and well cared for.

Yeni Karadeniz Pide Kebap Salonu is an absolute must-visit! Tucked away on a side street in Fatih, it's a hidden gem that delivers incredible taste and value. I ordered the chicken doner, and it was absolutely delicious—the meat was so tender and juicy, and the portion size was generous. The fresh side salad with a touch of lemon juice added the perfect burst of flavor. My friends thoroughly enjoyed their meals too! The staff are wonderfully nice and attentive, and while the place is small, the atmosphere is so airy and warm. The potatoes are so soft (like mashed potato inside), yummy and also huge 😍 You can select any toppings you like. The host is very friendly and speaks English very well. Very recommended 🔥

Delicious potatoe with many choices of filling. Staggering how large these potatoes are ! My wife and I shared one as a snack that turned out to be a meal. Staff were very helpful and polite and we were not rushed whilst eating in the shop.

This place is a cozy and welcoming spot in Karakoy. The coffee is rich and flavorful — definitely one of their signatures. I highly recommend trying their sandwiches; they're fresh and satisfying. Little place selling kumpir In Karaköy. It's a huge jacket potato where they manipulate the inside and mix it with cheese and butter, changing the fluffy consistency to almost molten lava. Fillings are fresh and tasted good.

The actual name of this place is “Ademoglu Pastanesi”. It’s been owned and operated by the lovely Adem for 35 years now. He said he’s had it since his son was just a little baby. I stumbled upon this place on my first day exploring Istanbul and came back twice the following day. I had delicious Turkish tea, coffee, simit with cream cheese, pomegranate juice, baklava, börek and so much more the 3 times that I went. Adem doesn’t overcharge even though it’s so close to tourist sites. I got 3 types of börek, Turkish coffee with a Turkish dessert (forgot the name) and a bottle of water for TRY 180. I also got simit, pomegranate juice and bottle of water for TRY 70. The baklava and borek are delicious and very affordable! This place definitely deserves more attention. It has a very cozy vibe to it and Adem is loved by the locals (and I totally understand why!). He’s the epitome of Turkish hospitality! I can’t wait to visit Adem again when I go back to Istanbul!

Had such an amazing dining experience at Mikla! Loved everything about this restaurant and can easily see why it's been listed on the The World's 50 Best Restaurant for a number of years and hasa Michelin star! The setting: the top of The Marmara Pera (conveniently just went down a floor after a sneaky pre drinks at the rooftop bar). In the midst of jasmine scents accompanied by the refreshing breeze of Galata I take in breathtaking views shimmering in the setting sun where old mosques glow like gold crowns! It's impossible not to feel romanced by Istanbul! The food here is innovatively delish! The menu combines contemporary techniques with traditional Anatolian recipes heroing fresh local produce from every corner of Anatolia to create beautiful dishes reflects the traditions of Anatolia's lands and people. I went with the 3 course a la carte menu and loved everything I ordered! My fave was the Seafood Casserole. The seafood was ocean fresh and the stew was a flavour bomb! 💣😋 Loved the spice kick it had too! The smoked duck was tasty too! Balanced really well with the sourness of the cherry in the salad and the pepper ham and white bean hummus! Desert was quite the sweet treat! Got the Burnt Hazelnut Halva loved the light creaminess of the rice pudding and the refreshing kaffir lime hazelnut sorbet! Was super impressed by the 3 courses of complementary snacks too which really showcased creative modern flair to traditional flavours! 😍

There is so much to like about this restaurant. For starters the view and the decor is amazing. In addition to the dining room, there is a rooftop open air bar with stunning views of the city. We had the three course à la carte menu and all of the dishes were very creative and exquisite tasting. The presentation and the service is exactly what you would expect from a Michelin star restaurant.

Loved the Turkish wines, especially the Prestige Kavaklidere Okuzgozu, a rich, deep Turkish red comparable to any great cab you've had. The kitchen must have sent out 4-5 extra dishes to taste in addition to the 7 courses. Truly made for a wonderful evening.

starry!!!!! firstly, this is the most welcomed i’ve felt in a restaurant. the service is so well-mannered and kind and attentive. truly deserving of the michelin star. the dirty martini was well made, and the white wine we had was fantastic, really light and fruity. the complementary crudités and bread were unbelievable. particularly the little sardine crisp! and i’m telling you, i really dont like olive oil, but this Turkish olive oil with the bread, i fell in love with. i could drink it pure. for a starter, the lamb’s heart was spectacular. soft and tender and the purée was sweet and nutty, reminiscent of all things good. the dry aged beef as a main was crazy. so much juicy meat, spectacularly flavourful just by good cooking. i did miss some flaky salt on it but the well-seasoned sides compensated. i think the kale was so good and crispy and i’m a sucker for layered crispy potatoes. for dessert i highly recommend the bitter chocolate! like a nice elongated dark praline with a tangy cherry-berry sorbet. yum. overall, great date night spot, and terribly delicious. the cocktail list is so long and its worth going just for that and some amazing Istanbul views. but also stay for a show-stopping meal!

We enjoyed a wonderful evening with friends at Mikla. The food was delicious, service fantastic and the atmosphere overall very welcoming. On top you get stunning views from the terrace, and even better, from the rooftop bar. When I come back to Istanbul, I will come back to Mikla - for sure!

This is considered by many to be the best place in the city to eat baklava, being a very traditional and famous pastry shop. The pastries are really good, with crispy phyllo dough and quality pistachios. However, it must be said that they are extremely sweet for the Brazilian palate, so a small piece may be enough. The place was very crowded when we went, but since the space is large, with several floors and even a pleasant garden, we managed to find a place to sit without any problems. The service at the counter was adequate and fast, despite the rush. They accept credit card payments.

It’s famous, so worth visiting at least once. If you can’t handle sweets, just get one piece for 2-3 people.

I first saw this place years ago on the Food Network, where they talked about its history as a baklava factory that has been around for more than a century. During our first trip to Turkey in 2015, we made sure to visit, and we were blown away. Coming back years later felt like returning to an old favorite. They have since moved to a larger spot just down the road with a beautiful café, outdoor seating, and a takeout section. The baklava is still on another level, rich, flaky, and absolutely unforgettable. Easily the best baklava I have ever had anywhere in the world. Luckily, we purchased several boxes to go so we can devour them back home in the States!

I had a meeting here with a Turkish friend who recommended the place, and it was just wow. The interior is superb and the sweets were absolutely great. I’m not usually a big fan of desserts, but I still really enjoyed it. The baklava with ice cream was something new for me and it was delicious.

Well... It's OK. I might not be the connoisseur of baklava but I really don't see anything special in what they sell. Cold baklava was interesting but the portion did not match the price... They seem to position themselves as more of an upscale establishment but inside there's a lot of people all fighting for tables. It’s expensive but one of a kind experience. The desserts are delicious, fresh and exceptional. The service is fast. There is plenty of space both inside and outside. Backyard seating area is very nice. All staff speak English. So it’s very convenient for ordering. There are English menus everywhere, even at the entrance. The prices are clear. The toilets are clean and they have nursery room for infants.

We absolutely LOVED this restaurant. The staff and manager were SO kind, the food was incredible, and we liked it so much that we came *three* times during our four day visit. We were recommended to try their turkish breakfast and were glad we did. As the picture speaks for itself, the portion for 2 could easily feed 3-4 people. The spread itself was great, a variety of fresh produce and simple yet tasty condiments. Even better, the window seats gives you a nice view of Galata tower. Price is reasonable and the restaurant is spacious if you're going in a large group. This was easily the best turkish breakfast we had in Istanbul.

I was in Istanbul for a vacation and as soon as I started planning places to eat Aheste was at the top of my list — I’d read great things. The restaurant sits on Meşrutiyet Caddesi in Asmalı Mescit, Beyoğlu, in a street already filled with classy, beautifully designed places that make you want to wander by just to soak in the atmosphere. Knowing how popular it is, we made a reservation almost a month in advance. When the night came, we arrived and were seated quickly — no long wait, which immediately set the tone. The servers were wonderful: humble, warm, very attentive, and clearly knowledgeable about the menu and drinks — helpful when you want to try something off the beaten path. We kicked things off with drinks: “The Old Nutcracker” and “Callisto.” They were decent. I thought the Nutcracker was like an Old Fashioned but with a lighter touch of alcohol — enough to feel something, but not overwhelming. Callisto had its charm too, though it wasn’t quite as memorable as the Nutcracker for me. Everything at Aheste is sharable, which works well for trying lots of different things. To start, we had the dudi Persian rice and the artichoke confit. The artichoke confit was surprisingly good — rich, flavorful and well executed. The rice was okay; pleasant, but not outstanding, a little underwhelming compared to what else came. After that we tried the tuna kadayıf and stuffed zucchini flowers. The tuna kadayıf was excellent — really a highlight. The tuna itself was probably the best bite of the evening. The zucchini flowers were nice, delicate and charming, though not as strong in impact as the tuna. We were disappointed to learn that the main course we anticipated — the lamb shoulders — were out that evening. That was a shame, because it had been something I was looking forward to. Instead, we pivoted to dessert: a classic rice pudding and rounded off the meal with a digestif, Amaretto. Both were very good — the rice pudding felt comfortingly traditional, the amaretto was a smooth, fitting end to the meal. Overall, Aheste was very good. Service, food, ambiance — all near the top. It didn’t feel perfect in every single dish (some were stronger than others), but the strengths far outweighed the small misses. If I were back in Istanbul, I’d definitely go again, and I’d recommend it to friends looking for something special but not stuffy.

Came here with my cousin for dinner. And I must say. The food, service and atmosphere was just wonderful. We ordered 6 dishes and a couple of drinks. All were delicious and the cocktails were also very good. Service team were very friendly, and due to my belated birthday. They provided us with a nice small cake as well. All in all a wonderful experience, but price wise it's on the high side.

Aheste was the best dining experience of a two week trip through Greece and Türkiye. This well styled restaurant offers up a modern twist to Turkish cuisine and pairs it with great wines or cocktails. The design is simple and pleasing with a nice dark atmosphere and welcoming and helpful staff. The moment we walked in, they took care of us. Dishes and wines were recommended and taken. A wonderful tuna appetizer was the star of the show and the Zucchini Flowers were excellent. The Roast Lamb Shoulder was outstanding. They also have some small Turkish wines that make the meal. Looking for a special place to celebrate or just for an elevated dining experience, this is your place.

We had a team serving us interesting and yummy food; my friend thinks it’s choreographed. The dining rooms, in an historic building, also added to the night. We came to Yigit Sofram based on recommendations from Reddit and they did not dissapoint! The food here is extremely delicious, decor and seating is comfortable and spacious, and the customer service is excellent as well! The meal sets start at 310TL (€6.8) through to 450TL (€10) and consist of a main (consisting of some form of fried eggs) with accompanying vegetables, bread and a complimentary Chai tea. From the mains we tried, would suggest trying the: - Famous Yigit Eggs - Turkish Sausages with Eggs - Halloumi Cheese - Roasted Beef with Eggs I'd highly recommend ordering the Cream and Honey Dip as it pairs excellently with the freshly baked flatbread. The Turkish Coffee is also excellent as well! This place is lovely and we have already been here twice on our 3 day trip. I'd highly recommend you to pay them a visit!

Of the three Turkish pastry shops in the area - Hafiz Mustafa, Safa and Ali Usta - the last one is undoubtedly the best. Unlike Safa's terrible customer service, the waiter here is very friendly and did his best to serve us the pistachio katmer as soon as the place opened (normally you would have to wait for the pastry chef). The katmer (200TL) was indescribably good: warm, creamy, not overly sweet or greasy. The chocolate and pistachio baklavas were also balanced in flavor and texture, unlike Hafiz Mustafa's desserts which I find too sweet.

You absolutely must try the Ketmer in this pastry shop, a delicate dessert with well-balanced sweetness, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, a pleasant surprise. Also enjoyed the popular baklava, which in its chocolate version is particularly delicious. Courteous and quick service. Card payments accepted.

Many choices of Baklava with pistachio and walnut. even the burma kadayıf with walnut it's very delicious making with sweet milk not like usual kadayif with sherbat (sugar syrup). This is an overhyped below-average “esnaf lokantası” dressed up for Nişantaşı’s posh crowd, who ridiculously romanticize “ev yemeği” without ever knowing what real home cooking tastes like. I tried this place after hearing all the buzz, but left seriously disappointed. It absolutely is not worth the high prices. Nothing felt special or authentic, just very basic (and salty) dishes with a fancy price tag. The service was downright intrusive. Waiters annoyingly hovered around our table the entire time, many times trying to take our plates before we finished (even after we told them not to). They ended up removing several dishes that weren’t even done. It felt rushed, disrespectful and uncomfortable. Overall, we had an unpleasant experience… Definitely not recommended unless you want to overpay for mediocrity and be pressured to leave before your meal’s even over. It’s designed for those Nişantaşı snobs…

This is a fancy local canteen. Most places I've tried were tourist traps, where I couldn't justify the prices for very basic food. But this place offers high-quality local dishes at very good prices. Highly recommended! Besides me there were no tourists, but a proper local audience

The taste, quantity and cost are usually satisfactory. We ate take-out with our 3 year old son as our evening meal. The kebabs were good, but nothing special, just like the rest of the restaurant. On the other hand, I do not recommend the sandwich with potatoes at all. The fries are not fresh, the sauce is weak, and the bread is not good.

For travelers, I never recommend this restaurant. My dinner price is 800TL, but I should pay more. Taste was not that special. Ingredients were not that fresh. But worst of all, he asked me more money than that I ate. I ordered 360, 310, 130 food in total 800TL. And he show me the bill written in 800TL. When I give him 165 by cash, and the other 635 by card, he suddenly told me that if I use the card I should pay the 10% taxes. So he asked me to pay 700 by card.(Even it’s more than 10%.) So I paid 865TL in total, even though I ate 800TL. I’ve never been asked to pay 10% taxes when I used the card in turkey. After that, we complained about that. So he gave us 30TL, even though we should get back 65TL. So, travelers, be care-full.

The best bakery in Istanbul! We happened to find this store while randomly walking down the lane and was attracted to step in by how good the baked goods looked on display. We came here every single day we were in Istanbul because we loved it so much. Very unassuming bakery - laid back, no pretense. The baker is also very friendly and helped us pick out stuff even though he couldn't speak English. Highly recommend this place if you're looking to try some local Turkish simit, olive bread, cookies, and donuts.

We went there every day during our stay in Istanbul. They had a wide variety of bread and always had lots of freshly baked bread. It tastes good and is inexpensive. The food is definitely the best part of Çiya. I found the service to be pleasant for the most part but there was a girl working there who kept smirking and was obviously talking about me in Turkish to her colleague which felt quite unprofessional and immature. It’s great that they serve such a broad range of regional dishes and showcase that Turkish food is about far more than kebabs and pide. I highly recommend the stewed aubergine with tomato, it’s truly gorgeous. Best to go in a group as Turkish food is definitely meant for sharing! Eating alone is not easy when it comes to portions, however they kindly served half portions in my case.

One of the best Turkish food I’ve had in the last week! The chicken thigh kebab was juicy and yet char grilled with excellent flavours! The lamb casserole in tomato base sauce was soft and tender, the aubergine and minced meat kebab was to die for! They served us complimentary Turkish tea at the end of the meal!

Great spot for Turkish food at a fair price. The menu focuses on classic kebabs and mezes, all made with fresh ingredients and served in generous portions. The laid back outdoor seating makes it perfect for a relaxed meal. I had the Acılı Kıyma Kebap (625 lira) and Ayran (80 lira) not a bad price for a tasty dinner. Highly recommend if you want authentic flavours without spending too much.

Don’t know what the hype is about this place. The only food that’s decent was the soup. We ordered Kofte and lamb with green beans. Only got three tiny pieces of lamb and a whole damn bowl of beans. Paid 450 lira for that bowl of beans 🫠😵‍💫 No thanks.

Went because of the hype the Netflix show Chefs Table caused and I had a great experience. The food was very savory. It was unique flavors I had never tasted before and was not what I was expecting. The baklava was the best I have ever tasted. It was very flaky and melted in my mouth. Our host was very hospitable and kind and explained this entire menu to us. I will eat there again when I visit Istanbul.

Nevertheless the place it self was proper and I sat upstairs/ outside, so I could watch people walking outside. We had a delightful experience at Simit Cafe in Sultanahmet. We ordered the feta and cheese gözleme, and both were absolutely amazing. The gözleme were freshly made before our eyes, which added to the authentic experience. The traditional Turkish seating on the floor was a unique and enjoyable touch. The atmosphere was cosy and inviting, making it a memorable dining experience. We highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy delicious, freshly made Turkish dishes in a traditional setting.

One of the most welcoming places I have been to. Their kitchen was spick and span and in fact makes for a great viewing on preparation of your order. The pide was soo tasty and I paired it with the buttermilk. Absolutely recommend eating in this modest hidden gem in an otherwise fancy city of Istanbul.

Don’t be put off by the low key style as looks can be deceiving- especially as a first time tourist in Istanbul - but this came recommended and it did not disappoint. The food was fantastic. The Beyran soup was spicier than I expected but it was delicious. For some reason this place seemed popular with Asians who were the only diners whilst we were there.

Stumbled across this restaurant searching for Kalle Paça soup and found it here. Delicious, filling and warm. Perfect for winter days to warm you up. The soup is made up of cow head meat and it's bone broth. Also had deliciously fresh ayran, extra salty just how I prefer. Would recommend this place and definitely would come back when I'm back in Istanbul.

This was our first dinner in Istanbul, just down the street from our hotel, and it ended up being my favorite place to eat. I got the spicy Adana kebab and wow… it was sooo good. Perfectly spiced, with this amazing sauce, fresh bread, onions, lettuce, and bulgur on the side. The only downside is that it's near a construction site and every so often construction dust would fly through the air. I suggest you eat inside. Price was fair too, especially since it’s right in Sultanahmet. We liked it so much we came back 3 times. The owner is super nice and welcoming. Don’t miss this place.

This unassuming establishment serves kebab, soup, and kunefe that sets your heart racing with excitement as you eat - it's hard to find words that capture how perfectly these dishes are executed. And the ayran deserves a special frothy mention too...just look at the photo, it's a must-try! Safe to say, no food on that table survived to see the light of day. Incredible! Will definitely circle back for another sitting!

The kebabs are tasty and well-portioned. 🌍 Interestingly, most of the customers are foreign — especially Korean tourists who line up just to enjoy the traditional kelle paça (head & foot soup). 🍲 Honestly, their kelle paça is one of the best in Istanbul. The texture of the meat, spice balance, and warm serving are all perfect. 🔥 The place is simple but clean and authentic — great for both dinner and a hearty soup breakfast.

Very poor experience! I highly advise against it. We went there for New Year's, and we paid 100€/ adult and 75€/ child, including a 5 years old. The menu promised included 4 courses: an appetiser, shrimps with some sauce, a pastry and a main course + New Year's special dessert, and unlimited soft and alcoholic drinks. We got an appetiser with 5 spoons of different dishes, one pastry they put with a claw on each plate, the shrimps were half of baby shrimp for each person and the main course which was a piece of overcooked meat with some bad sauce and a lot of rice. The special desert was a small pastry filled with halva. The unlimited drinks were wine, vodka tonic, gin tonic, still and sparkling water, lipton ice tea, and Sprite. They ran out of tonic, wine, and sparkling water by 11:00 PM and tried to charge us for extra wine and sparkling water. At midnight, they gave us a bottle of proseco for 15 people and tried to charge us 300€ for it, even if it was included. All though there were plenty of English speaking waiters, we got one that couldn't understand one word of English. We gave him a tip of 100 €, and at the end, another waiter who was drunk and had nothing to do with our table came begging for money and cigarettes. For entertainment, there was a belly dancer who wouldn't leave until all the men paid her

The starters we got were delicious yet they did forget one. We got the mixed grilled meats, steak was cold and over cooked but rest were really good. Most of the cocktails on the menu and the whiskeys they did not have and the wine they served us was burnt. And service was rushed and pretty poor. View was amazing!! Also worth noting it is not in this location that it shows on google maps. It is up the hill.

Really wanted to like this place. Sadly the food was overpriced and bad. I ordered the Seafood Pasta. It was so overcooked the noodles tasted like instant noodles. The prawns were the frozen type and the squid was not fresh at all. I didn't finish my main meal. And what was most upsetting was that there were barely any ingredients in a dish that cost over 400 turkish lira. Furthermore, the cover charge was 95 Lira per pax but the bread served was stale. The service charge was a mandatory 10% even though the service was just okay. They were welcoming and polite but clearly didn't care how poor the quality of the food was. The only thing that was nice was the view. But with a couple smoking right next to the window it was not a great place to sit either. The music - some Turkish dance pop - was way too loud and didn't have the right vibe. They were trying to make it more of a place to drink than eat somehow which doesn't seem right. The building itself was old. To get to the top you need to take the lift / stairs but the lift wasn't working and the lights were off. Imagine going down stairs in darkness. Overall it was a huge disappointment and unfortunately I would not recommend anyone to come here. Save your wallet and stomach the hassle and avoid this place ! You'll feel better for it.

Absolute disaster – avoid at all costs! We came to what looked like a promising restaurant with a beautiful view, but the experience was appalling from start to finish. The entire place was run by one single person – the cook, the barman, the DJ, the waiter – all in one. We were the only customers, and it quickly became obvious why. It took 45 minutes for our food to arrive, and everything was clearly frozen food. The taste was utterly disappointing. To make matters worse, the restaurant’s payment system completely crashed, making the whole process painfully slow and frustrating (and with the intention of pushing us to pay by cash). Great view, yes – but absolutely not worth wasting your time or money here. The worst dining experience I’ve ever had in Istanbul.

*Do not recommend* Would give zero stars if I could. The waiters are completely disinterested. But why would they with a automatic 10% service charge? The hummus was tasteless, and the lamb had the consistency of cardboard and tasted the same. Overpriced, overcooked, underseasoned, this was possibly the worst meal I've had in Istambul. Other than the view, do avoid this place. We were drawn to it from the reviews but failed to check that most were from 5 years ago. Avoid at all costs.

Its a gorgeous setting and we had a great experience. The reason I gave 4 stars is that the food is good but not amazing. Service was very attentive and we had a great table by the edge with incredible views. The food was nice and fresh, but I have had better food in Istanbul. Go for the view for sure. The price is also reasonable. It was $150 USD for 4 of us with lots of food and wine. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit. Make a reservation if you can for the best views.

This is a highly acclaimed place and we couldn’t wait to try it. It’s located in backstreets of a neighborhood which is more quiet than being on the Main Street. This makes for a more relaxed experience. We watched other tables and only saw people just relishing in what they were eating. Service was slightly slow but we like taking our time so at first it didn’t bother us. Maybe it’s the way they serve dishes or approach to serving but we received each dish alone and spaced very apart. We had asked the first two dishes to come together but they didn’t. The food is of high quality and well made but the way it was served didn’t help make for an enjoyable dinner. The last dish came so late we had to ask about if it was coming after waiting a really long time. We didn’t order anything else even though we would have eaten more, because we didn’t know how much longer each dish would take. Cost wise this is an expensive place as it’s highly reviewed. Included a photo of the bill as a sample. Might go again to give it another try since the food was good and so much to try.

We’ve been to Nazende Caddebostan more times than I can count, and not once have I left disappointed. Every single dish is excellent — I genuinely can’t think of a single one that made me say “it was okay.” Maybe that’s why we always forget to take photos; everything is so delicious that we dive right in the moment it hits the table. We always order a variety of dishes to share. If you love offal, you’re in for a treat — every single one is perfectly cooked. The lamb shoulder and tandoori with firik pilav are absolute musts. Don’t skip the tomato salad with verjuice (koruk ekşisi); it’s the perfect start to balance the richness of the mains. We’ve never left without ordering kokoreç to share. This time we also tried the baby goat meatballs (oğlak köftesi) for the first time — incredible! Another favorite we always go back to is the Nazende crispy pizza with cured meat and mushrooms, which is simply addictive. You’ll also see the crispy phyllo pastry with pastrami on almost every table — and for a good reason, it’s a classic. Even the unexpected items surprise you — like the rooster soup (horoz çorbası). One person in our group ordered it, and we all ended up tasting it; none of us expected to like it, yet it turned out surprisingly good. We’ve been here with different groups of friends, but the “sharing everything” approach always works best. If your group is up for it, definitely go for shared plates — it’s the best way to enjoy the experience. Mezes change every time, but they’re always fresh and delicious. Today we went a little overboard with four mezes, and by the time the offal, meat, and fish arrived, we were already full. You might spot our bottle in the Müdavimler Köşesi (Regulars’ Corner) — a small corner where loyal guests keep a bottle or two. Nazenda Cadde is one of those rare Istanbul finds that makes you cheer enthusiastically as every plate arrives at the table. It hums with an easy, confident energy of people having a genuinely good time. The menu reads like a familiar story told by a witty new friend: dishes you think you know are given sly, imaginative twists that somehow make perfect sense. The messe selections feel like the happy union of a Michelin chef with your grandmother’s cherished secret recipe. Around me, every table seems mid-celebration — strangers clinking glasses, staff darting about with the joy of people who like what they serve nad want to share it with the world . I loved it and definitely worth the battle with rush hour Istanbul traffic to get there.

Overall high quality ingredients accompanied by good cooking techniques. I've tried several dishes including, tomato salad, fried liver on beğendi base (smoked eggplant, milk, flour), lahmacun, stuffed pastry (Avcı Böreği), zucchini tempura and pan fried sweetbread. My personal favourite was the liver. The eggplant base was delicious and the liver fried to perfection. A masterpiece dish. Lahmacun was also quite good, ground meat from lamb ribs mixed with vegetables. Slightly unbalanced due to the sweetness of the tomatoes. A touch of acidity, saltiness or spice could have solved it. Zucchini tempura was also delicious, dipped in a thin layer of batter and fried in high heat. Almost zero leftover oil. Very well done. Pan fried sweetbread was also cooked quite well and the quality of the ingredients were also good. Tomato salad was my least favourite because of two reasons. Verjuice was used therefore the salad was a bit too acidic. Now it is tomato season and I would expect a tastier tomato compared to the rest of the ingredients. Could be a bit noisy since the restaurant is always almost full. Definitely worth a try. Will definitely visit again.

At the moment some of the robbers came just next to us talking to the waiter as if they were friends . We asked the waiter to call a taxi for us but he said that : taxies can not come here. Then i called the hotel to ask for a shuttle and i let the waiter explain them our location. The waiter told us that we had to go through Sifhane sokak and then we would find our shuttle waiting for us there luckily we did not go through that street because we knew they were going to rob us later at the hotel i found out that the waiter had just asked the hotel about the location of our hotel. NOT ABOUT THE SHUTTLE . so the waiter was part of the robbers.They wanted to know our rout. they just wanted to get us trapped to steal every bag we had.

Staff are nice, and its in a good location, but the food was average. Iskender kebab was alright, this is a decent place for a quick meal, but nothing amazing.

The meatball was ok. The doner wrap was so so. The wrap itself is too hard to bite. Friendly staffs. If don't expect much on the food then you will be fine.

I discovered this restaurant through a YouTube video by a local guide and saved it as a place to try for authentic local food. Unfortunately, my visit didn’t quite meet my expectations. I ordered the Portion Döner, but the meat and fried potatoes seemed like it had been sitting for a while - it was dry. I’m actually glad I didn’t go for the Iskender kebab, since it likely would’ve used the same meat. On the positive side, the portion size was generous, and the sides and fresh salad were good. The service was attentive, so no complaints there. I didn’t get to try other dishes, but it might still be worth giving the restaurant a shot

Best kebabs in Istanbul! If you go to the Grand Bazaar make sure you stop by here and try the kebabs. Super friendly service and incredible food. Must try if you want something the locals love

When visiting the Grand Bazar step out and make sure to come eat at Anadolu Döner! Absolutely amazing and perfect flavors.

Very budget friendly and honest pricing. It’s a humble kebab place very close to all the tourist attractions . They opened a new indoor dining area next to their old restaurant. Food was freshly made andIt’s a breath of fresh air after trying all the over priced tourist oriented places in the area. It’s not a refined dining place so it might not be for everyone.

Super bad service. Very impolite and rude. We asked explicitly that we wanted beef, because we dont like lamb. After being asured that if was beef, we got it and it tasted a lot like lamb. We asked the woman and after saying in the begining that it was beef, then said it was a mix of beef and lamb. We did not enjoy at all, and the woman waiter was super rude aboit everything.

Whenever I come to Sultanahmet, I visit this kebap restaurant, as they have reasonable prices and the perfect taste. Don't be cheated at the other touristic restaurants. Best kebap and best price 👍👍 Thanks to Chef Mustafa, and his son Davut 👏👏 My kids loved their cozy atmosphere 🌟🌟

A local gem hidden amongst all the tourist areas. Very good price for what you get, and even given grilled spicy peppers as an extra. Ordered an Adana Wrap. Wanted to sit in the shade but only had tables in the hot sun.

We found this shop a wonderful balance between the very expensive Hafiz Mustafa and the plethora of average places. They quality was high and they had a variety of options for packaging which made great gifts. Highly recommended!

the 2 boxes cost me 1953 ₺, I received them vacuum-packed and they were very appreciated when I took them home. I'm sure I could have eaten more because they are not overly sweet

When in Istanbul, you inevitably taste a lot of Turkish delight, but nothing comes close to the perfection at Dilseker. I first stumbled upon this gem in September 2023 and thought I'd discovered the best Turkish delight in the city. That belief was confirmed when I returned in August 2025. Two years and countless tastings later, Dilseker easily still stands out above everywhere else. The flavours are distinct and you can taste the quality of the ingredients in every piece. Crucially, the service is also exceptional. The staff are so polite and welcoming. The best Turkish delight and the best service in Istanbul!

Wow just as described by the rest of the reviewers. The owner Memhet was very nice as he gave us samples to try. The Baclava was amazing especially the one with the loaded pistachios. He also recommended his shop specialties Turkish delights. We ended up buying a few boxes from him. Reasonably priced. We will definitely go back to this shop when we are back in Istanbul. This is the shop to go to for good delicious Turkish dessert.

It’s a must to stop by! The staff is very friendly and helpful, while they don’t rush you even if there are plenty of options. Here we had best Turkish delight (the one with pistachio is heaven). They provide sealed boxes, in order to be compliant with airports’s requests. Just enjoy this place and its treasure.

This mixed grill platter was a true feast! The meats were perfectly grilled — juicy, tender, and full of flavor. The variety of accompaniments, from fluffy rice to fresh salads and warm flatbread, made the meal both satisfying and well-balanced. The sides, especially the spicy tomato dip and crisp cucumber-tomato salad, added a refreshing touch. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted homemade. A delicious and authentic Turkish dining experience!

Great service and tasty food! We stumbled across this place by chance, and it ended up being a regular spot during our stay in Istanbul. The food was freshly prepared and full of flavor. Portions were generous and very well priced. Service was quick and friendly, with seating available both indoors and outside. We recommend the pide and pizza. The rice pudding was also surprisingly good.

Absolutely incredible place to eat! We ordered chicken and beef shish, which were both cooked fresh over charcoal, and then served with a great selection of salad and veggies. It was honestly one of our favourite meals in Istanbul. What’s more - it’s reasonably priced too. If you’re in the area, you MUST check out Erciyes

This is great place to taste and try traditional turkish dishes on a low budget. It does not cost much but is better that more famous cafes on main streets. I tried kebab and pide and both were brilliant! I loved it! They brought us additional spicy sauce with rich flavors and bread for free. Highly recommended! ❤️
