Bakery
Brauð & Co, located in Reykjavik, is a bakery known for its exceptional bread and pastries. The shop, housed in a small building adorned with colorful graffiti, offers a variety of freshly baked goods including stone-ground sourdough, blueberry and liquorice bread, rye bread, croissants, pretzels and buns. The cozy dining area can accommodate only a few people at a time.
Walked toward to visit Hallgrímskirkja church in Reykjavík, Iceland. Saw this bakery shop on the way. Smells amazing and lots of locals inside. It was a good sight! I wasn't hesitant to pop in! The twist buns and croissants etc looked amazing and smells really nice! I don't like the cinnamon so they recommended the vanilla or toffee flavour. That was the best bun I've tasted. The flavour and the texture. It was soft and warm. Yum!! We went back there to buy 4 more. Must try! One bun cost £4.95

It’s a cute little spot that serves a variety of pastries. We tried the famous Icelandic cinnamon roll and a square shaped pastry (not sure about the name, hahaaa) both were very cinnamon-y and quite sweet. It’s a great place to sample local sweets, though the only downside is that there’s no seating area, so everything is to-go. Other than that, it’s a perfect little nook! :)
Max L — Google review
honestly the best pastry I’ve had in a long time! I tried the caramel & müsti - absolutely incredible! A bit pricey, but totally worth it. There are only two seats by the window (otherwise it’s mostly to-go), and we were lucky enough to grab one - super cozy spot and 100% recommend! 🥐☕
Michelle K — Google review
Simply amazing. I love a proper bakery and these guys are legit. So much to choose from. I grabbed a couple of traditional Icelandic treats and both were very good. One was a chilli cheese twist bread and the other a flaky vanilla and cinnamon pastry. So so good.

The first place we visited after arriving in Iceland on October 11 was this bakery, and we absolutely loved it. The staff were as friendly as before, and one of the male staff members was especially kind to us. We were in a hurry to catch a whale watching tour, but his warm attitude really brightened our day. Thank you for your kindness and for making our visit so pleasant! The bread here is amazing, and your friendliness made it even more memorable. 💛

We visited 2 different locations 1 week ago and I must say the hype is real! Best cinnamon roll I’ve had hands down. Also if you’re a cardamom lover the cardamom pastry was delicious as well! I wish I could have these pastries everyday! I was so excited I took a bite before I snapped the pic.
Ria S — Google review
The reviews are true, hands down the best cinnamon roll I have ever had! I wasn’t expecting it to be that good. Even coming in at 3:15pm, thinking they possibly would be a little old from the morning - wrong! YOU MUST GET THE CINNAMON ROLL!..,no matter the time of the day 🤣
Sabrina A — Google review
More than hype. Legit good. I wondered if I would like this place, as from photos it’s hard to tell if their famous cinnamon buns are moist or dry. I can attest they are very moist, especially when warm still fresh from the oven, full of butter, perfect balance of cinnamon and sugar including a bit of crispness in the outer rings from outer sugar crystallizing during the bake. Other pastries were also great. This place is legit good!

Coffee shop
Sandholt is a historic family-run bakery in Reykjavik, known for its wide variety of freshly baked goods, including sourdough bread, pastries, and cakes. The cozy eatery offers breakfast staples, sandwiches, and pastries alongside coffee and organic wines. The French-style pastries and bread are highly praised for their close resemblance to the original concept. Visitors can enjoy items from the breakfast menu such as shakshuka and pancakes topped with Icelandic strawberries.
The best bakery and lunch spot in Reykjavik! We have been here several days and noticed the line always out the door here and there’s a good reason! The line moves fast, waited about 10 minutes. Food, atmosphere, and service were 10/10. We had the pasta of the day, chicken salad, and tried several desserts. Everything was fresh and delicious. We will be back before we return home!

We came twice and had very different experiences. The first time, we came early and were sat at a table without much issues. Our server may have been new but was not familiar with the pastries and asked us to point at them on our phone (pictures). Otherwise it was a pleasant breakfast and the pastries (poppyseed bun, cinnamon danish, pan au chocolat, croissant, and a honey bun) were very good. Coffee and tea were well made. 5/5 experience. On our second trip the server was more knowledgeable but seemed to not care at all. She rushed us to order and offered no pleasantries (which would have been fine if not for the other issues). We ordered a poppyseed bun, pistachio danish, doughnut, waffle with bacon, lemon poppyseed bread and a salted pretzel. When the food came, we learned that she hadn’t heard us correctly when we ordered the pretzel and punched in an extra waffle instead. We pointed this out and the server acted like we had changed our order, giving us an attitude. Most of the laminated dough pastries were delicious, however the lemon poppyseed bread was dry and mealy. We finally got the pretzel after the other food had been finished (no rush at all for a cold pretzel they grabbed from the display) and they had brought one with no salt. At this point we just ate it and then paid (where we learned she had punched in 3 waffles from the cashier). Overall: Ambiance 4/5 Service 1/5 Laminated Pastries 5/5 Waffle 5/5 Soft Breads 4/5 Cake Breads 1/5 Pretzel 3/5 Coffee/Teas 4/5

This is one of the most popular bakeries in Reykjavik, and for good reason! We loved their pastries and couldn’t help but go back for a second time right before we had to fly back home. Get there early if you can! The crowd seems to pick up after 9:00A. In addition to serving up a variety of baked goods and chocolates, Sandholt is also a restaurant that serves actual breakfast and lunch dishes. When we went in at 9:30A one day, the entryway was packed with people waiting in line for pastries and others waiting for a table to dine in. + POPPY SEED BUN: This twisted golden bun was soft and bready, sprinkled evenly with poppy seeds and drizzled with a light sugary glaze. The bun itself didn’t have a strong flavor, but it goes well with a cup of coffee and was a great way to start the day. + PISTACHIO DANISH: This flaky pastry had a slight crispiness and was swirled with crushed pistachios. The layers were buttery and thin and I liked how this wasn’t too sweet. + BROWN SUGAR BUN: A must! Similar to a cinnamon roll, this bun was delightfully soft with a brown sugar cinnamon spread inside. Small pipings of frosting came on top, finished with crunchy chocolate pearls. Some of the brown sugar was caramelized on the bottom of the bun, giving it a little extra chew. It was such an indulgent treat. Pricing is not too bad considering the great quality of each pastry. If you only visit one bakery in Reykjavik, make sure it’s Sandholt!

My boyfriend and I went here twice on our trip to Iceland! Both times the food and drinks were amazing! Super cozy restaurant with fresh made everything! The first time we went we got the Swiss mocha, orange juice, shashuka with pork and the salmon avocado toast! We also got a brown sugar bun that was a little too sweet for both of us but still really good. The second time we came here we got two Swiss mochas, the shashuka with bacon, the salmon avocado toast, the skyr with fruit and lemon curd, and we also got a chocolate cinnamon bun and a slice of marble cake to go. Everything was super delicious! My boyfriend ended up liking the shashuka with pork better but still said both options are great! We went on Saturdays both times around 12pm/1pm and the wait was only about 10mins or so just depends on your group size but they’re very efficient and friendly!

Sandholt is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy Reykjavík life for a while. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. There’s a big variety of pastries, sandwiches, and hot dishes - everything looked delicious. We tried some pastries and coffee, and it was honestly one of the best bakery experiences we’ve had in Iceland. Prices are very fair for the quality you get. The location is great, right in the heart of the city, and it’s also a lovely place to sit down for lunch or brunch. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a place with great food, warm vibes, and a true Icelandic touch. 💛☕

So many desserts and pastries! This place was great. The vibe was amazing and great place to catch up with friends. Had the pasta of the day which was a creamy mushroom pasta. The sourdough bread was so good and served with a whipped butter. In addition the apple danish was beautifully presented and tasted even better.
Veronica S — Google review
I absolutely loved their coffee and breakfast! I was so impressed that I had to bring home their sourdough pumpkin seed bread, and I’m totally head over heels for it. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a cozy spot with amazing baked goods! ☕✨

A very nice cafe with reasonable prices. Unfortunately we didn't try the pastries but the coffee was nice. The atmosphere inside was fantastic however, as it felt energetic yet homely.

Bakery
Bernhoftsbakari is an Icelandic bakery that sells traditional delicacies such as a tour cake called kransakökur. It's located in Reykjavik close to the Harpa concert hall, making it a great place to enjoy Iceland's history and architecture.
i saw this bakery while waiting for the bus across. it is the best bakery in reykjavík in my opinion. they have many traditional scandinavian pastries that you no longer can find. the rolls are super fresh and the bread selection is huge with a mix of “ modern” and traditional breads. i returned many many times during my stay in reykjavík as this bakery is a gem. i highly recommend to try any marcipan pastries here, as i could not find in any other place on the island.

Old classic, small, basic good bakery. With a long history of the place and pictures. Cozy inside, a bit better service now on weekend. You can sit inside but mostly take away.
Vala — Google review
A really friendly bakery.. owners were so cute “fighting” about the best or recommended item when I was asking! And eventually I bought both.. ❤️‍🔥✨The flórentina was super super highly recommended! I think it’s their special one in the city, crispy, sticky almond cookie with cream in the center. If you can only get one this is it. Carrot cake was a classic and basic. Nothing went wrong and not fancy.
Julia H — Google review
Hidden gem. Oldest bakery in Iceland. Fresh and delicious delights. Small cafe with smaller sign. Enjoy.

Excellent pastries - they really do great marzipan, in multiple forms. Small place with a “bar” style counter, view toward the water. Coffee, tea, and delicious treats.

Restaurant
Baka Baka is a versatile establishment situated in a historic building in downtown Reykjavik. By day, it operates as a popular bakery and cafe, offering an array of freshly baked pastries and organic sourdough breads made with Icelandic stone-milled flour. The menu features signature items such as cardamom buns and sourdough croissants.
We tried Cinnamon rolls at a few popular places and this one was our favorite! Just the right amount of sweetness with a texture I enjoyed. We liked them so much we went every day for breakfast while we were in Reykjavik.
G G — Google review
Had expectations high due to the reviews. Ordered the cardamom bun. Chewy and cold. Nothing special. Had the homemade sausages, small portion, 2 sunny side eggs and salad served was a mishmash not to my liking. But the service staffs are awesome a d hardworking. Polite yet friendly to everyone. Hard to get such staffs. Kudos to the team.
Sarah C — Google review
Visited this location in October 2025. Great service and atmosphere from this location. They’re a lot busier during breakfast. We ate breakfast and dinner on different days. Breakfast was a pleasant shakshuka with some tea. Liked the spices for the shakshuka. Good options (pastries!) and service. Dinner was great service, but the pizza we got needed more oomph or a standout flavor profile with the potato pizza. The crust was great though!
Ronnie M — Google review
Wow! Such a delicious bakery! We started our trip in Reykjavik and found this bakery and had to return at the finish of our trip! Not pictured is the sourdough toast with butter- absolutely delicious! Might have to return for a third time this trip! The brownie and cookie were moist and rich!
Brent V — Google review
Really good food! Pretty expensive for just two people however. We had the bacon and sausage breakfasts, a cinnamon roll, croissant, and the swiss mocha. Everything was really delicious
Lily M — Google review
My boyfriend and I stopped here for some pastries and coffee! The Swiss mochas were the best that we tried on the whole island! We also got a pain au chocolate and a cinnamon roll! The pain au chocolate was really good it had the same delicious darker chocolate that the mochas had! Very cozy place! Would definitely come back to try out their full breakfast menu!
Natalie — Google review
That was the best French toast I’ve ever had in my life! The service from EIBA was exceptional — truly above and beyond. I asked for my French toast to be served with maple syrup and whipped cream, which isn’t a usual request in Reykjavík, but she made sure it was done perfectly. The French toast itself was soft, flavorful, and delicious; the berries were fresh, and the lemon curd struck the perfect balance — not too sour. The maple syrup was impressively close to authentic Canadian syrup. My flat white was hot and perfectly made.
Asma Z — Google review
Baka Baka is a cozy, stylish gem in the heart of Reykjavík that absolutely delivered one of our favorite meals of the trip. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, with friendly staff and a menu that’s both creative and comforting. We ordered the fried goat cheese salad and the Bianca mushroom pizza, and both were outstanding. The salad was beautifully plated and bursting with flavor. The warm, crispy goat cheese was rich and creamy inside, perfectly balanced by fresh greens, sweet apple slices, candied walnuts, and a light vinaigrette. Every bite had the ideal mix of texture—crunchy, creamy, crisp—and flavor—savory, sweet, and tangy. The Bianca mushroom pizza was just as impressive. It came on a thin, golden crust that was crisp on the outside and chewy inside—clearly baked with care. Instead of a tomato base, the Bianca featured a delicate white sauce, melted mozzarella, and an earthy, generous layer of oyster mushrooms. It was rich but not heavy, with a wonderful balance of flavors that let each ingredient shine. Baka Baka combines casual charm with truly elevated food. Everything felt thoughtful and well-executed. We left completely satisfied and will absolutely be returning on our next visit to Reykjavík.

Hygge Coffee & Micro Bakery is a charming addition to Reykjavik's coffee scene, nestled in the heart of West Town. The cozy spot offers a variety of coffee drinks and freshly baked pastries, including rare vegan options. Their outdoor seating area is perfect for soaking up the sunlight while enjoying a cup of coffee. Embracing the Scandinavian concept of hygge, this new establishment aims to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for patrons to savor life's simple pleasures.
It’s a lil bit further from city centre so prices are also a lil bit better. Delicious food - we had great breakfast: avocado toast was so tasty with some very interesting seasoning. Staff was so nice and helpful- they gave us some advice about parking in the city.
Marta B — Google review
A very decent coffee shop. They seem to be part of a hotel. Coffee served was one of the better ones. They were serving Te & Coffee beans and ironically had a better latte than the actual shop in the town centre. We came for breakfast so enjoyed the pastry and soup. Prices are typical Icelandic fare… The good thing is, if you can get a seat… it’s nice and cozy.

Chef’s Kiss! You just can’t get it wrong with them. Coffee is fantastic as well as pastries. Staff is just amazing. 100/10
Filip R — Google review
A good start for a day in Reykjavík, I tried salty and savory products and all were good. Also, I ordered an avocado sandwich, the special about it is the side sauce it was really delicious. Further, they have several options for espresso with good quality. The vibes are modern with style touch
Majd T — Google review
Beautiful bakery attached to a beautifully designed hotel. It was packed so I think this place is very popular, which is well deserved. I only popped in for a swiss mokka but it was made very well. Very chocolatey just the way I like it. Would love to try some of their food the next time around. Thank you for the experience!

Really good coffee! It was a bit crowded when we arrived, but we found a table quickly. The place is cosy and has a nice atmosphere — a perfect spot to relax and even escape the rain.
Alex V — Google review
Tasty blueberry bun (with a hint of cardamom?) and the matcha was fun. Focaccia sandwich was sublime, and they served it warmed. Quirky little cafe that prompts you to tuck away the devices and chat with your neighbors - embracing the Hygge.
Jason C — Google review
Hygge Coffee and Micro Bakery is a true gem for anyone seeking great coffee and pastries in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I tried the avocado sandwich, the hazelnut croissant, and the gingerbread croissant, all of which were fantastic. The avocado sandwich was fresh and satisfying, with perfectly ripe avocado and a balance of flavors. The hazelnut croissant was rich and indulgent, while the gingerbread croissant offered a unique, seasonal twist that was just delightful. My flat white with oat milk was smooth and perfectly crafted—a true testament to their barista skills. Hygge Coffee and Micro Bakery combines delicious food, excellent coffee, and a truly welcoming environment. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, it’s the perfect spot to relax, indulge, and feel right at home. Highly recommended!

Welcome to Deig, a vibrant bakery nestled in downtown Reykjavik that’s making waves with its delightful offerings. This charming spot is an offshoot of the renowned burger haven Le Kock and opens its doors early for breakfast until their scrumptious goods run out. At Deig, everything from bagels to doughnuts is crafted in-house, ensuring freshness and quality.
Cool atmosphere and great service. The donuts are amazing especially the crullers, the jam in the filled donuts was amazing too, I could have just eaten it with a spoon. Also tried the bagels and coming from the northeast USA where bagels are a religion this pace did not disappoint. It was odd they only had 4 kinds of bagels but they had an everything and that is best type so all is well. Did the smoked salmon with caper cream cheese, which again, is a holy thing from where i am from and this place does it right. Do not miss this place in your travels of Reykjavik!
DA H — Google review
A cafe that sells bagels with a variety of fillings. Ordered the tuna salad and veggie filling to go with Parmesan bagel. The bagel is warmed up and kept crispy. Though the tuna salad is the usual what you get and doesn’t have the wow factor, but it has the homely taste. Hot chocolate is just right and not thick. Nice and warm breakfast on a cold day.
Wendy K — Google review
Really excellent breakfast spot! We were obsessed with the donuts! Might even be the up there as a top 5 donut in my lifetime. Bagel and cream cheese were great too. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area.
Steph S — Google review
It's highly rated for good reason. Great bagel sandwiches and selection of pastries and drinks. Breakfast here is a must. You might have to wait in line, but there is plenty of seating.
David S — Google review
This bakery was absolutely amazing! Everything in the case looked incredible, but the crème brûlée donut was next-level. They actually sprinkle sugar on top and brûlée it, so it has that perfect golden crunch when you bite in. The filling inside was creamy and rich but not overly sweet — seriously one of the best donuts I’ve ever had. And the pretzel bagel with chive cream cheese was just as good in a completely different way — perfectly chewy, a little salty like a pretzel, and the cream cheese was fresh and full of flavor. It’s clear they really care about quality and details here. Whether you’re stopping in for breakfast, coffee, or a treat, this place is a 10 out of 10 bakery. I’d go back in a heartbeat — and definitely for another one of those crème brûlée donuts!
JT C — Google review
Traveled from the U.S. after seeing DEIG Workshop all over social media — the hype is real for the crème brûlée donut, which is absolutely worth trying. Unfortunately, the bagels and sandwiches didn’t live up to expectations, especially compared to what you'd find in American bakeries on the east coast. It does have a cool vibe and a great selection. It is worth visiting for the atmosphere and donuts.

The hot chocolate was delightful, and the pastries were exceptionally good — both the ham and the strawberry ones. A perfect choice for a refined and comforting breakfast.
Thanthon U — Google review
These were some of the best doughnuts we have ever had! Perfect texture and flavor. If I had one complaint, it would be that the filter coffee was a little too strong for my liking, but that's coming from an American not used to European coffee culture. The bagel sandwich we had was also very good.

Sweet Aurora Reykjavik is a charming French patisserie in Iceland, known for its delectable pastries and warm atmosphere. The owner, Aurore Pelier Cady, who trained at Institut Paul Bocuse, creates an array of French confections such as mille-feuille and eclairs, some even incorporating local Icelandic ingredients. Visitors rave about the freshness and deliciousness of the pastries, with particular favorites being the strawberry pie and French macaroons.
A lovely experience. We had a birthday on this trip and they had the perfect patisserie for her 'Birthday cake'. We were so pleased with our selection and that there were multiple gluten-free options.
Russell M — Google review
Excellent patisserie with cakes as works of art and great coffee too, in a small cozy space. This was a perfect spot for an afternoon break as we checked out the sights in Reykjavik. Our group had a selection of cakes and all were exquisite and delicious. Sweet Aurora is worth a visit if you are in the neighbourhood.

The dark chocolate cake called “Passion” was so so good! The mousse remind me of Royce Nama Chocolate, Very rich and smooth! the passionfruit cuts the richness very well. Couldnt taste the banana but it was a good experience overall. The cheesecake was a bit too sticky for our liking.
Gwen — Google review
A small patisserie at a quiet corner in Reykjavik. I ordered an Arctic tart with almond cream and berries flavor at 1400kr (most of cakes in the fridge are the same price), and a latte at 790kr. It is a perfect match. But there is no toilet here
Crystal W — Google review
Wow the selection of cakes is insane! I went for passion and got a hot chocolate with Tonka which was so good! Best hot chocolate in Iceland! 10/10! I wish I got more cakes!

The owner was very kind! The sweets are really good! The bakery is near Rainbow Street! I recommend trying the birki and the volcano! Amazing!!!

Bakery Brikk Brauð og Eldhús is a popular spot for baked goods in downtown Reykjavík. The sourdough bread is delicious, with a crispy crust and tender inside. The pastries are also very good, especially the cakes. The bakery is located close to the harbor and Grandi district, once known for its booming fish industry.
Stepped in this bakery since it was close by and had good reviews. The ham & cheese pastries and croissants were delicious. I also took away a loaf of sourdough bread which was quite tasty with a nice crispy crust but a very chewy center. It didn’t have a very heavy sourdough taste which is what I like. The icing on the cake was an amazing Nutella cinnamon roll (pictured) which I feel like was made with croissant dough, just YUM! Very nice sitting area as well.

A short 12 minute walk from the Bus Hostel where we were staying. Staff is super nice and accommodating. Delicious pastries and great cappuccino and coffee.
Zuzana P — Google review
Delicious chai, pastries, bread, and soup. Have been going here regularly while staying in Reykjavik and would definitely recommend. Icing on the cinnamon roll was a bit much but still delicious. Would love if they could heat up some of the savory pastries.
Kyle D — Google review
The server was extremely helpful and walked me through all their different pastries which I appreciate. I ended up getting a cinnamon roll and chai latte. The roll was very sweet, soft and fresh tasting. I also liked the chai, it was quite milky and not too sweet which I didn’t mind since I was eating it with the cinnamon roll. It was clean and quiet inside so it was good for a quiet morning in.
XAR — Google review
Very friendly and not so busy and not in busy area, more local people. Not so big and not much table and chairs but nice and cozy. Good service and lovely staff.
Vala — Google review
Sensational bakery just a short walk from our hotel, so I skipped breakfast and feasted here every morning. All the pastries are on display in the window, prices are decent, and service was excellent.
Stephen S — Google review
Unreal pastries. Probably the most decadent and delicious pastries I have ever had. We ordered the Nutella croissant and brownie croissant. We came here every morning it was that good!
Britt — Google review
Such a good bakery!! Delicious, fresh, and friendly staff! We got two pastries, and they were very good. The Nutella pastry was our favorite and it was so delectable. I got a sourdough sandwich, and it was so flavorful and with quality ingredients. Great place overall and highly recommended! I even got a sample of the cheese sauce, and it was so good and unique. Apparently the cheese sauce is one of the biggest sellers there.

If I could give them and 500 I would, what a beautiful place, people were nice, food was delicious. I wish we had places like this back home. Thank you a for a great lunch

We got desserts, bread and sandwiches here and everything was delicious. The first day we went there we were waiting on by a high school student. She was so sweet. I don't think you could go wrong going to this amazing bakery. It was recommended to us by Maria from Hotel Lotus
Melanie P — Google review
Great place for a tasty affordable sandwich. Our hotel didn't offer breakfast so we would come here daily to pick up a pastry for breakfast and sandwich for lunch. Everything tasted very fresh and was cheaper than the gas station sandwiches we saw! My favourite was the ham and cheese croissant with butter. My friends tried a variety of other ones and were always great. Highly recommend stopping here for a quick bite or to bring on the road before starting a Golden Circle or Snæfellsnes peninsula day trip.
Amanda R — Google review
Really nice food here. We were new, so when you go inside you have to get a ticket first from near the door, that number will be read out and then you order. Parking available, toilet available good seating and card payment available. I really loved coming here!
Aishah S — Google review
if i could give the service a -10 i would. all of the workers have bad attitudes and forget to make me an item i ordered every time i go. they dont smile, dont greet you or even treat you with human decency. last time i went i had asked for a to go cup, she asked me if i wanted the small one and i said no id like the big one and she ROLLED HER EYES AT ME. actually insane, i know its annoying working in retail, ive been working in retail since i was 13 but i would NEVER roll my eyes at customers. food is great though its the only reason i keep going. get better staff.

The sandwiches did not taste good. The bread was good but the fillings were stale and flavorless. Ladies were sweet and talked to customers.

Hi everyone! This Bakery/Café happens to be located at the entrance into Reykjavik city...if you are coming from KEF international airport..easily accessible and parking just outside. Very nice clean sitting area with great view to relax and enjoy light meal or just a cup coffee (various types) or tea. I happen to be one of the regulars at this bakery Café so I guess that's a sort of recommendation in itself ❤️ I try here to show you in a few uploaded photos what's available including all sorts of (non sweet) sandwiches and sweet cakes alike. Hot soups too All imaginable sorts of sandwiches are available freshly prepared from the morning along the day. There's a "Meat Sandwich"...tasty and filling: I recommend that you ask for adding slices of fresh tomatoes ..seasoning the whole thing with pepper and little salt before entering the grill-oven 😋 Good things to know: When you buy a cup of coffee...no matter what type in Iceland you always have the chance of one FREE refill (but filter coffee only). This is the rule in Cafés and Bakery Cafés ... really around the country and has always been like that. Then remember if you are a tourist/foreigner in Iceland: No need to buy bottled water. Icelanders drink proudly their tap water...100% natural clean resources/filtered naturally through different layers of earth itself coming from deep down sources. Warm welcome and good services.

This bakery is a great place to get delicious pastries and sandwiches. The bakery has two locations in Reykjavik and one location in Mosfellsbær. The bakery sells many different types of pastries, including chocolate made by a brilliant local chocolatier. The bakery is also good for coffee and tea, as well as other chocolate, coffee, herb & spice related products.
I love everything about this place. There’s no English label anywhere, but the staffs are very helpful. I noticed that most of the customers seem to be locals, and they order different items. I had croissant and caramel donuts. They were amazing and I just had to come back even though I’m just in Iceland for 10 days. My trip started at Mosfellsbakari and it ended at Mosfellsbakari :) I’m very satisfied 🥰

My favorite bakery in Reykjavik. They have basically everything and it is really good! We had both breakfast and afternoon coffee here. Very friendly staff. Mostly locals who buy and take it home, but there are a few seats as well.

Aaaaaammmaaazing Bakery! 😍😍 The sandwiches are so fresh and tasty. The secret is the bread is so soft and delicious. The pastries are mouthwatering and so good! Highly recommend this bakery. They also have another location a little outside the city that we also visited and it was also super good!

Surprisingly, they have one of the top 3 cappuccino in my opinion❤️‍🔥 which I really recommend.. And of course the bread. First of all prices were really friendly! The one I got, vínarbrauð (friendship bread?) was really sweet, but delicious. Crispy at the edge with filling (nut paste.) Cinnamon bun was ok. Nothing special but is huge enough for 2 meals..
Julia H — Google review
Cute coffee shop. Good coffee and really good pastries. They have jams, syrups, chocolate, bread, pastries, and more. More than what you'd find in a regular bakery!
Trent R — Google review
I came there for famous Icelandic Cinnabons, but ended up ordering different desserts as well. Staff was impatient and unfriendly. Tables were dirty. Talking about a bun: dough was fluffy and fresh, lots of icing on top, second sweet ( don’t know the name) was great.

Popped in here twice on our trip. Great bakery with amazing pastries and sandwiches. Reminds me of a really nice farm shop on a small scale, lots of high end local produce, including chocolate made by a brilliant local chocolatier! If you're in the area and looking for a light breakfast / lunchtime sandwich, be sure to pop in!

Bakery
Nestled on the outskirts of Reykjavík, Passion Reykjavík is a delightful bakery that captures the essence of traditional Icelandic treats while offering a selection of vegan options. The moment you step inside, you're greeted by an enticing display filled with mouthwatering pastries like cinnamon rolls and kleinur. While their sandwich bar may have limited vegan choices, the friendly staff are more than willing to whip up a delicious sandwich if you purchase some bread and hummus—perfect for those planning to venture into the stunning Icelandic landscape.
Stopped in for breakfast and the place was very nice, clean, and had a great atmosphere. Everything looked amazing and we tried a handful of pastries and sandwiches all paired with excellent coffee. Sandwiches were salami and veggie, bread was amazing and the salami had this onion sauce that was to die for. Pastries were cookie dough croissant, chocolate banana cream cake, rhubarb oatmeal cookie, and a croissant cinnamon roll. all were great but the croissant cinnamon roll was other wordy perfection, classic cinnamon roll taste with light flake and buttery croissant. Coffee was a latte and a flat white with oat milk and were very solid drinks. Do not look this place over

What a charming traditional feel bakery. We stopped in to see what vegan baked goods they had to offer. They had a couple traditional Icelandic baked goods that was vegan. We got a massive vegan snudar and a vegan version of the Icelandic happy marriage cake. The happy marriage cake was so good! It’s a moist graham cracker crust that was really buttery and dense with a wonderful jam topping. It honestly was my favorite treat while in Iceland. I also got a oat milk latte which was just as yummy. What a great place! They literally have any baked good, treat, bread you can think of.

This was a neighborhood bakery outside of city center. Best coffee and baked goods I've ever had. AMAZING! Went there every morning for roll and cappacino or Swiss Mocha with 2 shots of espresso. Also had Icelandic sandwiches with fresh baked bread for lunch several times. We dined in and took out as our schedule called.

Extremely nice and helpful owners, gave us the best tour through icelandic bakery we could ask for! The oat cookie with rhubarb jam was the best, but we loved all the options. Can only recommend and will definitely visit again!

Customers appreciate the variety of pastries available, with favorites including the corn bread and chocolate pastries.
The cappuccino is here is strong, flavorful, and bigger than what you get in the downtown area. The pastry is not bad either. It’s a spacious store. The outside looks a bit dilapidated but inside is quite nice.

I really liked the cinnamon swirl and Skorpubraud. The person manning the counter was very nice and spoke excellent English so that's a major plus point. I paid with a visa debit card without any trouble. Will definitely visit again. I had the Skorpubraud toasted with isbui and hang meat. It was great!

Smells delicious and I'm sure the other products in the store are good but the choco chip cookie is below average. I have eaten a million times better cookies than this one, was sad but I guess not everyone can make spot on tasty cookies. Will surely visit there again to try something else.
