Nestled in the vibrant Laugardalur area of Reykjavik, Laugardalslaug is a must-visit destination for both locals and travelers alike. This expansive outdoor pool complex boasts year-round heated pools, including an impressive Olympic-sized swimming pool and several smaller options tailored for children. The facility features a delightful array of hot tubs with varying temperatures, perfect for relaxation after a swim or workout.
Awesome! The weather was terrible, but admission was also free on culture night but it was not very busy. Plenty of room in all pools and tubs, except the 38c directly out of locker rooms. Very clean showers
Cody S — Google review
Came here as a tourist and would just say - it kicks the pants off pretty much any public pool I have been to in North America. There is one surprising reason for this. Is there an attendant that makes sure you shower before you go in? Yes! They put these signs everywhere in North America but nobody obeys them. But there is a reason those signs exist. If everyone cleaned off properly, pools wouldn't need to use so much chlorine or bromine to kill off the microbes. Another reviewer said Laugardalslaug uses more chlorine than most pools in Iceland. I have no reason to doubt this, but even then I couldn't detect it in my nostrils afterward. Bonus (not the supermarket): having a changeroom where the floor is actually dry, because again - they MAKE you dry off before leaving the showers and entering the changeroom. I'm willing to bet athlete's foot is less of an issue here than in North America. Anyway, if you are in Reykjavik (especially if you are camped next door), do yourself a favour and go to Laugardalslaug. Do the second cheapest thermal cycle you'll likely ever experience (cheapest being the Reykjadalur thermal river). The pools are nice and clean and not crowded. We had a nice chat with some friendly locals in the hot tub. Get a hot dog afterward, the stand outside offers veggie dogs too. Be respectful and follow the rules at the pool. You will thank yourself, and become an evangelist for pre-pool showers. Unfortunately I fear most of my fellow North Americans are too prudish to take them seriously.
Colin C — Google review
For 9 euros you have the Icelandic thermal pools, spa, sauna and wellness experience for as long as you want. It's not the blue lagoon or sky lagoon but it definitely is a relaxing open air great experience if you want the feel of the thermals without the mountains views. And its not a natural one
Onassis K — Google review
old facilities elderly people with skin diseases usually swimming pools need a dermatologist's note enough chlorine! the water is not filtered!! it is not recycled at all!!! a lot of dirt! If the sea water filled the large swimming pool too, it would be something very good unique!!!!
Κ A — Google review
The place is clean but has seen its better days. The facilities are great though. Really fun with the obstruction course and slides for kids on water. Many hot tubs to choose from plus a steam room. Good to spend a couple of hours after visiting the town centre. Good value for money as entrance was fairly cheap.
Iris G — Google review
One of the best pools you can ever imagine trying in the entire world. The pool does not get better than this one not even in the Spain where the pools are quite nice. You must go to this pool and the buy and ice cream afterwards at the local isbudin. But do not buy the smallest one like i did. you will regret it. Go for the second smallest because then you can choose toppings!!
Peter A — Google review
Laugardalslaug was one of the most impressive experiences we had in Iceland. For a very reasonable price of 1,380 ISK per person, you can enjoy a wonderful local geothermal swimming pool that even has water slides. Visiting a local swimming pool is an absolute must when traveling in Iceland, and we highly recommend this one!
이상엽 — Google review
Cool pool and great things liek steam rooms and hot tubs which were great but for foreigners who don't have cultural acceptance of certain things like the showers there should be exceptions as it took so long for them to finaly let us use somthjng like the cubicals for showers and they could have made it much easier for themselves and us.

Vesturbæjarlaug is a popular outdoor geothermal swimming pool located in the old town of western Reykjavik. It offers a variety of hot tubs, including options for socializing or enjoying seclusion, as well as a steam room, sauna, and a cold tub. The pool also features a children's pool and a large swimming pool. Visitors can enjoy the retro charm of the facility and mingle with locals and tourists alike.
Loved it. Lots of hot pots with different temperatures and a cild plunge. There is a sauna. There is also a machine to dry your clothes when you leave. Remember you have to shower naked. Women have a few private shower stalls
Cherie R — Google review
One of the older pools in Reykjavik area. Currently undergoing some maintenance work, so hopefully when they open again, it will have a fresher look, both saunas working, and more. Great spots for sunbathing there, a selection of different temperature pools as everywhere, and lanes as well. No slides sadly, but sauna and steam room are great. Bring your towel for sauna though.
Eli — Google review
You can rent a bathing suit for 1.300 kr or buy for 5.000. Towel was also around 1.000 kr. Well maintained facilities the reception is good at directing you what to do. Recommend the wet sauna

Great afternoon place to unwind and enjoy the geothermal waters of Reykjavik. It is more local and less crowded than other venues. I enjoyed the different temperature pools and the sauna. It was peaceful and a great way to stay warm.
Anderson E — Google review
Went there on the first day of our Iceland trip and spent there a couple of hours. Such an amazing place. Best pool I have ever been to. I wish we would have similar pool culture in Poland as they have here in Iceland :( We are coming back here for sure! 2022 Update: We went back and nothing changed, it's still amazing!
Witek B — Google review
I have been to all pools of Reykjavik and most other pools in the surrounding area. Vesturbæjarlaug is along with the pool in Seltjarnarnes my favorite. Mostly because of the good atmosphere and vibe. Especially in the evenings when it’s dark and the charming lights are on. It’s a local pool with a nice mixture of locals from all ages, sizes and backgrounds in combination with a reasonable amount of tourists. The pool has a long history and the building and interior represent that. Although it can be crowded at specific hours, the (men’s) changing room is large enough and very rarely I have to queue up for the mandatory (nude!!) shower. There is a nice variety of pools with all different temperatures. The steam room is nice and strong. The main pool is large enough for serious laps. The pools outside are generally pretty clean, although I think the ‘shower police’ of the past should be reintroduced again. The entrance price is fair, but if you think you’ll come more often you can buy a 10 of 20 rounds card and you get a huge discount. These cards can also be used for many more pools in Reykjavik.

Árbæjarlaug is a popular swimming pool located in the Arbaer district, just a short drive from Reykjavik's city center. It offers both indoor and outdoor pools, including children's pools, hot tubs, a cold tub, water slides, and a steam room. The pool overlooks the picturesque Ellidarardalur valley and is adjacent to the Arbaer Open Air Museum.
Really nice public swimming pool. Has lap pool, inside warm relaxing pool, 4 hot tubs, steam bath, and a big water slide. Cheap for adults and free for kids.
Rasmus M — Google review
Great family swimming pool with plenty of features. For the kids there are shallow pools with a small slide and a larger flume. There's a larger pool for swimming lanes, and around the sides there are a variety of hot-tubs of various temperatures (36-42C), as well as a sauna and cold water plunge pull. It's nothing chique, but clean and friendly fun for not much money (9€ per adult, our kid was 0€). Well worth a visit.
Paul D — Google review
Clean facilities and a good mix of pools for kids and adults. A great option for an afternoon straight off an overnight flight for kids (and parents) who might not be coming off a great sleep!
Eric H — Google review
My kids RAVED about this pool and asked to go back every day of our vacation XD We went in the morning, so the vibe was very relaxed with mostly adults and older people. The people working there were very friendly. There were some floating boards and toys for the kids to play with at the indoor pool area. There were 4 hot tubs with 3 different temperatures and so much to do. We saw infants there all the way up to older people. What a wonderful place!
Kathryn H — Google review
Fantastic local pool complex with options for all ages from 1-100. Pools and hot tubs with several different temperatures. Water slide. Lap pool. Sauna. Steam bath. Transgender friendly with a private shower room to accommodate any gender identity or individuals with disabilities or who need assistance.
Ryan B — Google review
Very kid-friendly pool in nice environment, with all the classic Icelandic pool features, hot pot, cold plunge and sauna.
Óli H — Google review
Very bright, clean and spacious swimming pool, with different temperature pots from cold to hot. I could stay forever in the jacuzzi section 🤓
Luana A — Google review
First time in Iceland, and my first experience in a thermal pool! I met so many locals and got to try all the different temperature pools as well as sauna. Offers great views of the valley. Walking trails nearby. Locker rooms and pools are clean. Easy system and personal belongings are safe. Hope to be back soon!

Lágafellslaug, situated in the town of Mosfellsbaer, is a top choice for families visiting Iceland. Although it's a bit of a trek from the city center, reaching it by bus can add an element of fun to your journey. The pool area is spacious and offers various amenities including a 25-meter outdoor pool and three hot tubs with temperatures ranging from 38°C to 42°C.
This is an amazing swimming pool located in Mosfaelbear. Most swimming pools I'm Iceland are really good but this one is also awesome I loved the hot water pool and also the rides and the cold water pools. The hot water tubs here are at 38 degrees Celsius and also 44 degrees Celsius. The kids love this place a lot. They have fresh towels and lockers as well. If you are in Iceland and specially if tou happen to be in this beautiful town, please do visit this with your kids. The kids love it a lot.
Kaushik K — Google review
Great view, fun slides for everyone, good pool and saunas are very nice. Shop is also good with hot dogs and ginger shots or other drinks/shakes. Only thing that could be improved is cleaning of area and changing rooms.
Aslaug E — Google review
4.5/5 rating - one of my favourite swimming pools in the capital area. The Finnish sauna is great, properly hot and very spacious. Infrared sauna also but not the best imo. If planning to visit sauna, please ensure you have a towel to sit on, and be reasonable and shower after going to any sauna. Steam room great, hot tubs of various temperatures as usual, lovely shallow pool, 3 slides, 25m pool, and a cold pool. If the cold pool was larger and easier to access (can pretty much fit 1 as has rails around which means you can't just jump in from any side, and leg space in the centre is very small), would be 10/10 pool.
Eli — Google review
Absolutely awesome place! Super clean and friendly staff…three hot tubs outside, steam room, sauna, infrared sauna, cold plunge, huge lane pool and the best part WATERSLIDES! all for 1000isk! We went on a week day and it was very quiet and only locals there…great experience and I recommend it to anyone in the area if they want to relax and experience a top quality Icelandic pool 😁
David — Google review
I did visit this place first time...It's pretty much nice swimming pool. Has steam bath to, has hot pots outside, big place for kids and two places to swim one outside the other inside. Good parking, Word class training center it there as well. And they have some cofeteria.
San R — Google review
In my opinion, this has the best dry sauna out of every public swimming pool in Reykjavik. Also if you subscribe to World Class gym you don’t have to pay for the pool since its already included in the membership

Hello everybody I’m a little girl I don’t have any friends but I went swimming and I’m a girl. The swimming is fun but I’m a girl so I’m a little shy to be around people. I was very pleased with the amount of free towels for use provided by the lovely staff. And I didn’t have any issues whatsoever with the changing room and all the information was very clear and helpful. I love the idea that we could get together for lunch so hit me up, byeeeeeeeee

Sundhöllin, also known as "The Swimming Palace," is a historic public bath in Reykjavik, Iceland. Built in 1937 and designed by architect Gudhjon Samulsson, it features an indoor saltwater swimming pool and an open-air hot tub on the roof. The bath underwent renovations in 2017, adding an outdoor area with hot tubs and another swimming pool while preserving the original indoor pool.
Absolute gem. Beautiful temperature outdoor and indoor lane swimming pools, super clean facility with great hot tub and a tiny 3 person sauna. No stinky chlorine. Friendly and helpful staff and all great comfort. Warm outdoor swim whilst it is snowing?Loved it.
Susan J — Google review
A really nice place with many different hot tubs of varying temperatures, a nice big cold plunge, a sauna, lap pool, lockers are included (and either have a built-in key or a code). Very family friendly.
Joj T — Google review
Great true Icelandic experience for a tourist spent over an hour just jumping between the tubs and pools and steam rooms. Very clean and convenient as well. Showers are equipped with soap and lockers are plentiful so you can store all your belongings. There is also a bathing suit dryer so you don’t have to worry about having it stink up your bag
Victor R — Google review
This is a great place to swim a few laps or relax. The pools are good, clean enough and seem well maintained. There is a good variety of pools and activities. The entrance fee is reasonable and I appreciated the swimsuit dryer right after the showers. Remember to shower thoroughly without swimwear before going into the pool. I appreciated the clean and easy to use shower area and lockers. I will be going back here when I visit Iceland again.
Aud J — Google review
Great public pool. Older facility with much of original feel but locker rooms and pools were clean and updated. Several hot tubs from small to large, warm to hot. Indoor and outdoor lap pools, plus steam room and small (2-person) sauna. Not as many kid-friendly areas as other pools -- only one warm pool for kids and no toys etc when I was there.
Cory C — Google review
Rather pay $15 to relax in a geothermal heated pool/hot tub, than $150 at Blue Lagoon? Check out the local public bathhouse, pool, and sauna. No pool side bar, but nice staff, and a great way to soak off sore muscles after walking or touring all day. The steam sauna is big and quiet modern feeling. The dry sauna is "cosey" but effective. There is a warm "kids" pool, warm, indoor pool, an outdoor pool (not sure if it is hot or cold) Hot tubs, hotter tubs, and a cold plunge. everything is very clean and well maintained. The changing rooms are gendered, but contain private changing rooms. All patrons must take full unclothed soapy showers before using the pools, but semi private stalls are available (and maybe some fully private?) Bathing suits are required as all the other facilities are co-ed/mixed genders Great place to meet locals and learn a little about life in Reykjavik. I visited twice in a 5 day trip and wish I had found it earlier as it was the perfect way to end each evening.
David E — Google review
It was fairly quiet on a Sunday morning around 10am. There’s an indoor pool and an outdoor pool for swimming laps, a few hot tubs and a cold plunge, a steam room and a tiny sauna. The lockers were easy to use.
Dane B — Google review
Love visiting here anytime I am in Reykjavik! Relatively cheap to visit, you can rent a towel, and the hot pools up top are so nice after a long flight! Theres a lap pool, an ice bath, extra hot pools, regular hot tubs, and some sauna rooms. The locker rooms are very well kept and the staff is always friendly

Spa
Sky Lagoon is a new and magical geothermal spa located in Karsnes Harbour, Kopavogur, near Reykjavik. Despite its close proximity to the city center, it offers a remote hideaway experience with all the elements of a luxury spa retreat. The themed meeting rooms provide unique views and atmospheres, such as overlooking the Eiffel Tower or relaxing in a cozy ski lodge.
We like this experience much better than Blue Lagoon. The view from the edge of the infinity pool toward the west over the Atlantic is incomparable and the 7 steps ritual is done in a really luxury facility. The viewer from the hot sauna is nothing short of stunning. Go at sunset so you can see the spa in daylight and twilight.
Kristi S — Google review
We went at 7pm (September 12th) best time to catch the sunset .. be prepared for the crowds and trust me that you’ll be ok with them(it’s too beautiful to be bothered) . The 7 step ritual was actually less crowded than the lagoon.. take your time and enjoy each experience .. it was truly worth doing. (The sauna is the best sauna in the world, there was a silent one and another where you could talk) ..
Sarah G — Google review
The Sky Lagoon was our very first stop in Iceland, and it was the perfect way to relax and unwind after a long flight. My sister and I joked that it’s the Disney World of lagoons, every little detail is so thoughtfully done, and the whole place feels a bit magical. The locker rooms were spotless and well-stocked with everything you could need, towels, hairdryers, and plenty of space. There were even cubbies for shoes and robes before heading into the lagoon, and the showers were clean and relaxing. We felt comfortable and safe. The lagoon itself is stunning. The mix of rock, greenery, and that infinity edge overlooking the ocean makes the whole experience feel otherworldly. We did the seven-step ritual, and it was amazing. Our skin felt incredible afterward! The staff was friendly and welcoming, and we never felt rushed or like just another tourist. The crowds were light and totally manageable, and we ended up staying for hours without even realizing it. This was hands down our favorite lagoon experience in Iceland. I’d go back 100 times if I could!
Amber D — Google review
Sky Lagoon is an unforgettable experience! The setting is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views over the ocean that make you feel completely immersed in Iceland’s natural beauty. The warm geothermal water was so relaxing, and the 7-step ritual added a unique and refreshing touch — I felt both energized and at peace afterwards. The facilities are modern, clean, and well organized, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Everything was designed to create a calm, luxurious atmosphere. If you’re visiting Iceland, this is a must-do activity. It’s the perfect blend of relaxation, nature, and Icelandic culture. Truly a highlight of the trip!
Can Z — Google review
Our visit to Sky Lagoon was nothing short of incredible, an experience of pure luxury and tranquility. From the moment we arrived, everything felt seamless and perfectly thought out. The infinity pool overlooking the ocean is absolutely breathtaking, especially as the steam rises against the cool Icelandic air. We did the 7-step ritual, and it was truly special from the refreshing cold plunge to the warm steam room and the nourishing body scrub, every step felt rejuvenating. The facilities are spotless and beautifully designed, and the atmosphere is calm and soothing throughout. It’s a spa experience that perfectly captures the magic of Iceland. If you’re visiting the country, Sky Lagoon is an absolute must, an unforgettable blend of nature, relaxation, and luxury.

I really enjoyed this lagoon. The natural rock features and clean water is relaxing. There's a waterfall feature and the Infiniti edge. The whole thing has a beautiful view of the Atlantic. The spa ritual is neat and is something to do while you're there. Drinks prices are ridiculous (as with the rest of Iceland). Glass of wine was approx $17 and they didn't have any red wine. I opted for the Ser package and must say the private changing rooms are very nice - equipped with hair dryer, towels, tips, plastic bags, shower, and soaps. Checking in and out was simple and easy. There's lots of free parking. Taxi's wait outside if you need a ride.

Absolutely loved our visit. Water was an enjoyable 100 degrees F…cold plunge an amazing VERY cold temperature. Likes: swim up bar, bands for identity/lockers/paying, ritual and all the stations, lockers, individual showers, and I didn’t think it was too crowded. Ohhh yeah….amazing views.

It was a great experience. We enjoyed our time in Sky Lagoon. We loved the rituals except the cold plunge, LOL. The elixir they served was so refreshing. The view from the sauna was amazing. I can sit there for hours if its not too hot to see the view. I would go back again when I have the opportunity.

Nauthólsvík Geothermal Beach is a unique destination in Iceland that showcases the country's innovative use of geothermal resources. This popular beach features a lagoon with warmed water, golden sand, and hot tubs, providing visitors with a one-of-a-kind experience. Despite Iceland's cool climate, the geothermally heated ocean pool allows for year-round enjoyment of warm waters and traditional Icelandic sea bathing.
This was the best thing I have ever done! Jumping in the ocean was so rad! There's a killer steam room, geothermal pool... the place is incredible, and the people working there are awesome! As far as the photos: there are other warm pools, but I'm not going to rudely take photos of the people who were chilling there. I'm so bummed that after finally getting the huevos to check it out by myself, it's my last day here 😂🤦‍♂️. Soon enough, I will be back. Soon enough...

Great little beach. Pretty and not too busy. You can see the steam rising from the water and close to the hot tub area the sea water is warm

Totally worth visiting! For not much money, you can stay there indefinitely. Way more affordable than other famous spa places like Blue Lagoon. The outdoor heated pool is great and they also have a very hot steam room. You can alternate between the outdoor pool and the cold lagoon, or even try to swim in the sea nearby

A beautiful little hidden beach. The geothermal pool is only open certain days during the winter and isnt very big or deep.. Free parking is nearby. You can walk around the bottom of the runway from the beach. It's normally very quiet and secluded. Definitely a beautiful tranquil place to visit.

After a short swim in the open water sea, which is indeed cold of course, you can warm yourself up in the hot pool, have a shower, while your stuff is waiting in the changing room. Definitely worth it!

My son and I went around midday on a Wednesday in March and there were only a handful of locals in the hot springs. It was a delightful, no frills spot that I would highly recommend. The locals would alternate between dipping in the ocean and coming into the hot pool. I just alternated between the hot pool and the sauna and had a wonderfully relaxing time. Side note - you can rent towels from the kiosk.

A bit underwhelmed, stone sauna quite nice, although crowded. Steam / sauna utterly unattractive, no steam, seating almost rusty and that might explain why there was plentyful of space (absolutely no one there l Heat in the "hottest ¦ hot tub" I usually refrain from, can't stand too much.... But I t felt a bit like the swimming pool. Surroundings ~ As good as it gets.... All in all, sorry to say, a disappointment.

One of my favorite pools - I went to all the locals in Reykjavik and this one is a hidden gem that I would like to gate keep. The Library was really lovely, modern with gorgeous interior. Lots of space to do personal projects or if you work remotely with huge kitchen - kettle and microwave. The best part is that the pool was super clean and empty. Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre is a modern architectural marvel located in the city center. It serves as the national opera and symphony's home, offering a stunning venue for evening shows. The building's design, created by Danish firm Henning Larsen Architects in collaboration with artist Olafur Eliasson, draws inspiration from Iceland's dramatic landscape. Its steel framework is adorned with a honeycomb pattern of colorful glass panels, creating an impressive sight.
The building interior and exterior was very clean and so cool. The 3d glass is what makes this building impressive. We did walk around in the building and there is a small store available as well as some conference rooms, bars, and a restaurant on the top floor. Would recommend checking it out.

Very interesting and cool building to visit if you are in town. An easy walk down from downtown and the building is free to walk around inside. Not all the floors are open to the public or free, but plenty to see and enjoy for a quick visit.
Kev Z — Google review
Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre in Reykjavík is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks and absolutely worth a visit, even if you don’t attend a concert. Its glass façade is a piece of art in itself, reflecting light beautifully throughout the day and glowing dramatically at night. The architecture combines modern design with Icelandic inspiration, making it as much a cultural attraction as a functional venue. Inside, the main concert hall is renowned for its excellent acoustics, creating a special experience for any performance. Even if you aren’t there for a show, the building is open to the public, and you can explore the interior, enjoy the views of the harbour from the upper levels, browse the gift shop, or stop for a meal or drink at one of the on-site restaurants. Guided tours are also available if you want to learn more about the design and behind-the-scenes spaces. Harpa is centrally located by the old harbour, making it easy to reach on foot from downtown Reykjavík. There is a large underground parking garage if you’re driving, though it can get busy before major performances. The building is also a popular spot for photography, so arriving a little earlier gives you a chance to enjoy it without the crowds. To get the best experience, try to attend a concert or book a tour, as the venue really comes alive when in use. Dining at one of the restaurants is also recommended, but reservations are wise if you’re visiting during peak hours or on an event night. The only potential drawback is that if you visit outside of showtimes, parts of the interior can feel quiet or less active. Still, the architecture alone makes Harpa a highlight of Reykjavík and one of the city’s must-see cultural stops.

It was stunning!! Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavik is a stunning architectural gem that dazzles with its colorful, honeycomb-like glass facade, designed by Olafur Eliasson and Henning Larsen Architects. Situated by the harbor, it offers breathtaking views and a vibrant cultural experience. The acoustics in the main hall, Eldborg, are exceptional, making concerts by the Iceland Symphony Orchestra or other performances truly memorable. Even without attending an event, the free-to-enter interior, cozy café, and unique gift shop make it a must-visit. A perfect blend of art, music, and Icelandic spirit.

Exploring with my family, very nice location and beautiful view of the mountains outside. We also went inside the Harpa to explore a little bit and stumbled upon the Volcano Express show. AMAZING architecture here, a MUST visit stop in Reykjavik! For free you can go inside and walk through the first couple of floors. Pay to use the rest room, which I expected to be a little more cutting edge than they were. Anyway, the way the light bounces off the panels makes this place simply astounding. Probably the best thing I saw here in the city.

The Saga Museum in Reykjavik offers a captivating journey through Iceland's history and culture. Lifelike wax figures bring to life Viking warriors, medieval kings, and other significant characters from Iceland's past. The museum provides guided tours, film screenings, and educational programs suitable for families and students. Through animatronics and realistic displays, the museum covers a wide timeline of Icelandic history from the earliest settlers to modern times.
Great history information. And being able to dress up and take pictures in Viking attire after the walking tour was the best part!
Bill O — Google review
This museum features a walk through tour with audio. There are 15-20 scenes setup inside with tales from Iceland's history. My brother and I started our visit to Reykjavik here, which was nice because we got a lot of background information about various figures we would see throughout our trip. Of course, we also had to dress up like vikings and Templar knights!
Donald R — Google review
This was actually better than I expected. I thought it would be a gory touristy wax museum. It was only partially this. The FIRST half to 2/3rds of the museum was interesting and informative. They explained and demonstrated the early settlement of Iceland with good commentary. Somewhere about the Middle Ages, the exhibits devolved into the gory "wax museum" stuff I had expected. Beheadings and people being burned alive, Christian atrocities, etc. I mean, I know those things happened, but they weren't the ONLY things happening in that time period! It was gratuitous violence. I am disabled. The museum floor is step free but somewhat uneven. You need to be aware of the undulations. The entrance price is half off for the disabled, but you have to ask. They don't seem to offer this perk without asking.
Claudia S — Google review
Interesting museum about the first settlers and Vikings in Iceland. It was a bit more on the small side. The gift shop was also really nice.

Interesting little exhibition telling the story of early Iceland through an audio visual experience. Audio guides provided in English. . About 20 story boarded scenarios take you from the first discovery of Iceland through to the Reformation. There is also a chance to dress up at the end.
Dex M — Google review
A very friendly welcome. The museum is relatively small - about a 30 minutes visit was enough to do it justice. The signage accompanying the exhibits was informative but the audio recordings gave lengthier and more interesting explanations. The mannequins were earily realistic! The venue has an excellent gift shop and the staff were welcoming and friendly.

Höfði House, built in 1909 and once the residence of Icelandic poet Einar Benediktsson, holds historical significance as the site of a crucial political summit. While many tourists are drawn to the nearby Sun Voyager sculpture, a stroll along the sea towards Höfði House offers its own charm. This area is popular among locals for running and cycling.
Höfði House, perhaps one of Reykjavik's most historically significant buildings, is renowned for hosting the 1986 summit where U.S. President Ronald Reagan and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev met, marking a significant step towards the end of the Cold War. Built in 1909, this beautiful house has also hosted celebrities such as Queen Elizabeth II and is believed by some to be haunted. Its architectural style and the rich stories embedded in its walls make it a captivating stop for history buffs and those interested in the Cold War era.

Höfði House is located on the Reykjavik waterfront. It a wooden house imported from Norway for the use of the French consul in 1909. Later on it was put to use for social functions and was famously the site for the historic meeting between Presidents Reagan and Gorbachev in 1986, setting the stage for an end to the Cold War. There is also an interesting monument to Einar Benediktsson to see just next to the Höfði House.

You can’t go in this house because it belongs to the City of Reykjavík government, but you can walk right up to it and around it. It sits on a spectacular piece of real estate with nothing blocking the view of the sea. There are informational signs around giving you a little bit of an idea of its history. I discovered this place because there is a geocache near the parking lot which gives a little bit more history (haunted history) that does not appear on the official signs. It’s a beautiful structure that sits there all alone looking kind of sadly out to the ocean, wishing for more visitors, more life.

Hólavallagarður, the oldest cemetery in Reykjavik dating back to the 19th century, is located between downtown and the west part of the city. The cemetery is known for its peaceful yet somewhat spooky atmosphere with moss-covered trees and gothic-looking graves. It has a rich history, including being a burial site for victims of the Spanish flu. The area also features a section dedicated to British soldiers who fought during the war.
A really nice historical cemetery. You won’t see fresh flowers here but rather historical graves from the 20th century. If you’re lucky you will see some local cats too.

Such a beautiful, peaceful place. My husband and I walked here four times over the course of our two week stay in Reykjavik. It was nice to be among trees and hear the birds, and get away from the crowd for a bit. We were lucky enough to meet the sweet black+white kitty that roams here twice. Highly recommended.

Holavallgardur was a stop on the Reykjavik Folklore Walking Tour with Your Friend in Reykjavik, which was very interesting in itself. The guide informed us of how large the cemetery was originally, and how it unfortunately grew due to the Spanish flu. The majority of the graves are very gothic looking, and then a mix more modern as you make your way through. And the moss that has accumulated on the trees, tomb and head stones, & structures gives it a very eerie feel. But also very peaceful.

The National Gallery of Iceland is a must-visit art museum, showcasing an extensive collection of Icelandic and international art from the 19th and 20th centuries. Located in Reykjavik, it features diverse exhibitions exploring various themes and artistic styles. The main building, situated by the Tjornin pond, offers a wide range of art forms including traditional landscapes, depictions of sagas, and works by modern Icelandic artists.
Small museum that houses a few changing exhibitions - the permanent collection is at the other location. The three exhibitions we saw we're all Icelandic / arctic themed and were very well presented. As a couple that often travels to see art exhibitions we were pleasantly surprised at the quality and variety. Definitely worth a few hours.
Seth O — Google review
Whether you are an art enthusiast or not, visiting an art gallery when you find yourself in another country is part of the cultural exploration. I visited the National Galery of Iceland a few days ago. The gallery had 3 different exhibitions of modern art, and I was able to view all exhibits and read about the artists in less than an hour. As I am not an art critic, I cannot comment on the exhibits, but on the overall experience: it was fine, but I would expect more. With this being the national gallery, I would expect to see some sections with permanent collections and some temporary ones - to be fair, both aforementioned categories existed but with limited exhibits. There is also a cafeteria and a small area for kids to draw together with the cloakroom. Nevertheless, if you buy a city card, I would suggest putting this as part of your places to visit within the 24/48-hour window available.

The second location, makes use of the Culture House (also referred to as the House of Collections), early 20th-century library on Hverfisgata street just a few minutes walk from here. Opening hours are 10am to 5pm daily while entry ticket (2400kr for adults, 1200kr students) provides access to both locations as well. We visited both the National Gallery of Iceland and the House of Collections during a recent visit to Iceland. Both focus on 19th and 20th century artworks by Icelandic artists which are spaced out across several floors within the two museums. The House of Culture location contains a much larger collection. We found the exhibitions at both museums interesting and worth visiting for art lovers who plan to spend time sightseeing around Reykjavik.
Brad — Google review
Extremely small exhibit, but with the same ticket you can go to House of Collections which has much more to see.
Daniel R — Google review
The gallery is quite interesting and I liked the building itself, but there is not so much to see and even stopping to read a lot of the information on each artist we took just around an hour. There is a floor for abstract modern art which I really couldn’t believe some of the pieces. I guess each to their own taste. We had bought the Reykjavík City Card which is great value and allows visits to multiple museum, public transport bus and access to swimming pools. I would highly recommend purchase as it has paid back after visiting two galleries more or less. Valid for 24 hours from time of your first visit.
Will M — Google review
The national gallery was made with beautiful modern architecture of glass and steel, which connects older looking structures. Comparatively, it is a very small gallery which you can see in an hour or so. Admission in 2024 was about $22CAD and the ticket is also good for another venue: the Collections Gallery. The ticket is good for a 24 hr period. Photography was permitted, and encouraged (there were signs), during our visit, and I *think* that's usually the case at this venue.
Martin C — Google review
Quite small exhibit, but it is a great one nonetheless. Highly would recommend popping in and looking around if you have the time and like paintings and history.
Austin B — Google review
Friendly staff, and one really interesting exhibition on art forgery. The rest of the museum felt a bit sparse, both content and information wise. There's so much culture, history and art in Iceland that I was hoping for more.

Skólavörðustígur is a charming and popular walkway in the city, known for its historic homes, retail shops, restaurants, and pubs. It runs from the corner of Bankastraeti and Laugavegur to the impressive Hallgrimskirkja church. The street is lined with quaint shops, art galleries, and beautiful old houses.
What a colorful place this is!! You literally walk the rainbow! This area hosts an eclectic mix of shops, restaurants and bars. It is a feast for the eyes and the mouth! Make sure you bring a full wallet!

This street is the Main Street which starts (ends) at the church. The rainbow section is just a single block but very beautiful and vibrant. Lots of restaurants, ice cream parlors and plenty of shopping options. We purchased an Icelandic sweater here and also munched on some delicacies. We recommend spending a couple of hours here.

The only fantastic meal in Reykjavik ! Expensive ( isn’t everything ?) and service was pretty great .. but the food … top notch .. did the tasting menu !

Such a cool area! Stroll for delicious food, cozy coffee shops and shop your hearts desire! Beautiful buildings, art murals & the famous rainbow road! A must see!

Nice street with shops and restaurants. Not the main shopping, but great view of the church.
AZ — Google review
Probably the most famous street in Reykjavik. It runs slightly downhill from the imposing Hallgrimskirkja to downtown. The lower part is the famous Rainbow street. Many cafes, restaurants, shops,...along it. TIP: Park your car around Hallgrimskirkja Church (free parking) and explore the capital on foot
Dejan B — Google review
Great view and awesome city center. Everything is tidy and really taken care of. Lots of scenic shops and buildings, that invite for a walk. Also great to catch the one or other souvenir or professional art work of any kind.

The part of iceland where you shop for souvenirs and stuff, crave the street food and stroll the narrow streets. You can also get a bird's eye view of this colorful area from the tower of Hallgrímskirkja church.

Bessastaðir, the official residence of the President of Iceland since 1940, is a historic cluster of buildings with roots dating back to the 18th century. The site's history goes even further back to the days of Snorri Sturluson in the 13th century. Unlike many presidential residences, Bessastaðir is not heavily guarded and welcomes visitors daily to explore its grounds and learn about its rich history.
Beautiful residence with an amazing and rich history. We were fortunate to have president Jóhannesson give us a tour and touch on some of the past. This was originally an official Danish office, then a school, then the Presidents official residence. If you can visit please do. It was refreshing to see a leader and a country without the need for stifling security. Shows a well managed system!
Mick T — Google review
Nice looking building and plenty of car parking to stop and see if you can spot the president lol. We went early morning as we were heading into town, had a quick walk around then got back into our car. President’s Audi then came out the gate and drove past us, if we had been a few minutes later going back to car may have gotten a selfie with him! Maybe next time. Church steps were being renovated when we visited (Nov2024)so no access but I imagine it will be completed soon
Will M — Google review
Surprising lack of security which has a great view and a nice church in front.
Ash L — Google review
I couldn't help but compare this to the White House as we drove right up, parked in the empty lot (save one other car), walked right up to the house, took a pic or two, and then left. Such little fanfare, no lines, no protesting, no massive security. Just a beautiful estate that is open for any and all to see and enjoy. Maybe we'll try to take a tour next time we're there.
Walt B — Google review
This an excellent stop for tourists, but especially for those of us from America that are used to seeing government residences with high security. There's very little at this presidential residence, which is in stark contrast with other presidential residences around the world. During our visit we saw both the president and the first Lady and both were quite nice. The structure isn't all too impressive, but the lack of security along with the great views make this home well worth the stop.
JonHatesStarWars — Google review
There can't be many countries you can walk up to the leaders front door and give it a knock, not that we did! A very secluded home with a church in front. A beautiful vista all around to take in. Highly recommend a visit as it is on the way from Reykjavik to Keflavik and is a very nice drive to get there.
Ben H — Google review
The presidents house and worthy of the name. The grounds are open and accessible to the public. No security and our guide said that he meets the president walking his dog from time to time. No tours inside however. It's just a place for a quick stop and a few photos.

Bessastaðir is the official residence of the President of Iceland. What may surprise you is there is no gate or heavy security so you can walk on the grounds and visit the church. It's a short, pleasant walk from the main shopping area, offering a perfect blend of unique local culture and a great photo opportunity.

A colourful, cheerful street right in the centre of Reykjavík, leading straight up to the iconic Hallgrímskirkja church. The rainbow-painted pavement makes it feel lively and welcoming — even on a cloudy day. It’s a short street, so don’t expect a major attraction, but it’s a lovely place for a relaxed walk, quick photos, and there are plenty of small shops, cafés and spots to grab a coffee or a souvenir along the way. Definitely worth a stop while exploring the city.
Damian K — Google review
Really fun place to stop on your walk through the city. Like everywhere in Iceland it is well maintained and clean. The stores along the road are very nice! There are local businesses, and also a few places to pick up a souvenir or two on your way to the church! A must see.

A small but vibrant downtown. Lots of variety for food and shopping. Close to the waterfront. Limited street parking. Safe and comfortable, vendors don’t bother visitors, everyone is friendly and in a good mood.

Rainbow Street in Reykjavík (officially Skólavörðustígur) is a colorful pedestrian street leading up to Hallgrímskirkja Church. The center of the street is painted in vibrant rainbow colors, symbolizing support for the LGBTQ+ community and celebrating diversity. Along the street, visitors can find trendy cafés, boutiques, and art galleries, making it a lively and popular area for both locals and tourists. On sunny days, the rainbow path beautifully contrasts with the church in the background, making it one of Reykjavík’s most photographed spots. It’s a place that perfectly captures the city’s bright and free-spirited atmosphere.

Reykjavík Roasters, formerly known as Kaffismidhja Islands, has been a pivotal player in Reykjavik's coffee scene since its establishment in 2008. With multiple locations, the Asmundarsalur outpost stands out for its setting within a Bauhaus building turned exhibition space, offering stunning views of the iconic Hallgrimskika church.
Here’s the translation: Single-origin coffee from Brazil Santos – fresh, perfectly roasted, and very tasty. I had it as a cappuccino with oat milk – a very high level of coffee. A pleasant place with a young, welcoming atmosphere. Excellent service.
Hanita R — Google review
Reykjavik Roasters has several branches around the city including this place along Brautarholt street. There is a fair-sized indoor seating area, they do a typical coffee shop food menu along with their range of coffee drinks. Opening hours are 7am to 5pm daily. We stopped by recently and were served a very good espresso macchiato and americano. Espresso was bold with good flavour, both drinks were nicely prepared and tasted good. Dishes being served to other patrons during our visit looked pretty good as well. Would gladly return to Reykjavik Roasters based on this experience.

Reykjavík Roasters is a great spot for coffee! The cappuccino was excellent, the staff were super friendly, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. A perfect place to relax and enjoy a quality cup of coffee in Reykjavík.

Best coffee in Reykjavik? Might be! Loved it so much we came back for seconds. Chia pudding was super tasty and the avocado toast was as pretty as it was delicious. Lots of locals and tourists alike, but the line moves quickly and there was plenty of seating.

Sundlaugin í Kópavogi, also known as Kópavogslaug, is a popular aquatic recreation venue in Iceland. It boasts both indoor and outdoor pools with water slides, along with seven hot tubs and a gym. Renovated in 2008, it's one of the largest pools in the country. Accessible by public transport, it offers an affordable alternative to the Blue Lagoon.
There is a nice, clean long outdoor pool and 25 m indoor pool as well. Cool sledges for a little adrenaline and hot water to relax. Good for kids and adults as well. I like the big steam room and the big parking lot for bicycles too.

It's a popular spot in Iceland for locals to relax and socialize. The area also boasts other natural thermal pools with stunning views of the surrounding fjords. Despite its proximity to the Ring Road, many visitors overlook this gem, making it a hidden treasure waiting to be discovered.
Nice variety of pools as expected. The sauna is also pretty decent, even if the water mechanism is a bit unconventional for me as a Finnish sauna enthusiast (you don't throw water, you push a button).
Rambo P — Google review
Out dated swimming pool. The kid pool is very old and the water toys(that spray water or have buckets of water spilling) dont work. The inside pool is allso very outdated. Over all not my type of pool to go to to enjoy and relax. Again, just a personal oppinion. Id rather go with my kids to árbæjarlaug.

Don't waste your money on some of the more expensive pools and hot tubs this place is built for locals but visitors are welcomed. The staff and the customers are all very friendly and the facilities are very clean and looked after. I would definitely look at your local area for these types of pools
Paul M — Google review
Great swimming pool, hot pots, slides etc. Where the locals go.
Einar T — Google review
Pools and hot tubs are pretty decent, like 4stars, little bit of retro vibe but clean. If you are looking for sauna and know how to use it properly you won’t enjoy it. There is female and male separate finnish sauna inside and steam bath outside. Female finnish sauna was nice, but male wasn’t, it was smelly and not hot enough. Furthemore the culture of sauning in Iceland is bit weird, as they go to finnish sauna in with swimsuits, flipflops, jewelry and plastic bottles. Given this, separation doesn’t make much sense. So if you don’t want to breath in chlorine and PVC from swimsuits, you should probably skip it. It was fine as not mainstream activity and local experience for us, but wouldn’t go again.
Sona — Google review
Compared to other swimming pools in the city, this one is the least inviting. Locker and shower rooms could use a massive overhaul. The hot hot tubs were closed when I visited, so the 39-40°C were overcrowded. Swimming pool was set up for lanes only, no place to just relax there or play.
Jóhannes J — Google review
Terrible racist experience. When I start my shower before the swim, a local old lady follow me and rudely taugh me i need a shower before swim( I have lived in Iceland for 3 years and of cause know that), then keep watching me. Then, after I finished my shower and put on my swimsuit, a staff went in and ask me again if I know I need a shower before swim. Finally, a nice girl helped explained what happened to her and let her leave. The very sunny winter Saturday has been ruined, and I start to know that Madam Butterfly in Harpa last year is not the only case.

Grafarvogslaug, situated in the tranquil Grafarvogur district of Reykjavik, is a popular destination offering a wide range of facilities for both serious swimmers and those looking to unwind. The public bath-house boasts geothermal pools, hot tubs, cold tubs, indoor and outdoor splash pools, water slides, steam baths, and saunas.
Great swimming pool, good for families with kids. You can find it there: indoor pool, steam bath, sauna and infrared sauna.
Jan P — Google review
The "geothermal pools" are the pride of Reykjavik. Grafarvogur pool is a public bath-house with hot tubs, a cold tub, indoor splashpool, outdoor splashpool, waterslides, steambath and two types of sauna. Also a 25 meter swimmingpool with lane dividers. Swimmers have priority in the swimmingpool; so don't get in the way if you're not swimming. And don't dive off the sides. Facilities are clean and poolwater is contiously renewed, filtered and monitored. Showering without a swimsuit is mandatory and only deticated swimwear is allowed in the pools/baths. T-shirts or underwear are not allowed. Photography is sticktly forbidden on the premisis. Tickets cost 1050 kr for adults and 175 kr for kids. (2022) Public bathouses are funded by the government and are run with a financial defecit. So tickets would have to cost 4000 - 6000 kr to make a profit. Please be respectful to locals and enjoy a relaxing and rejuvenating trip to the pool.
Eaglelizer A — Google review
Excellent pools and hot tubs. Place was spotlessly clean and staff very helpful. So much cheaper and better than a spa as there is a heated pool and slides for the kids. Very nice pool, not crowded. The lockers open with the key that you're wearing on your wrist so no need to remember the pin code and the locker number. There is paving outside so you might wanna take your slippers with you. UK reviewer Came here with 3 kids (11, 8, 7) husband and Mother in Law on a overcast but dry day late August. Will probably come again this holiday as we all enjoyed so much! Kids go free, adults aren’t expensive (£7 each I think?) Changing rooms immaculate - I’ve never been I cleaner swimming pool changing (male and female split) rooms, I wonder if that’s the norm here? Beware of the culture change from the UK - you shower naked prior to swimming and then when you get out (we didn’t) You take your towel through and leave in a ‘drying area’ so when you get out you shower again (locals all naked) and then dry thoroughly before going to get dressed. Excellent idea as it’s so much easier to get dressed in an area that’s not all wet and it makes it so much cleaner! Pools - 1 good sized indoor pool. I could stand to my bra line throughout. A few Floats and toys provided. Numerous outdoor pools one for leisure, one lanes (although it want at all busy so we had a play on he diving platforms)- all a lovely temperature! Some very shallow pools for little kids - lovely and warm. 1 flume and 1 wide slide. Super fun! Cold getting up to the top but lovely and warm when you hit the water. 3 hot tubs - all large and different temperatures. I LOVED the super hot one. 1 very very very cold plunge pool. Saunas and steam rooms also available (all in the entry price) Lifeguards sit in a big tower behind one way glass but they came down and sorted out an issue with some kids misbehaving so they are watching. If you come from the UK you’ll be surprised at the lack of ‘rules’ and monitoring - refreshing!

66 North is a clothing store that has been in business for over 100 years. The store is well known for its quality protective clothing, which is perfect for all kinds of weather. This clothing store features a unique advertising campaign that features brooding Icelanders in inclement weather. The products are meant for heavy-duty outdoor activities, but they can also be used as streetwear.
The staff were wonderful. They have a wide variety of options available. The most important tip that I can provide for you is that if you sign up for their newsletter you get a 10% discount. The website has a lot of issues so make sure you do it in front of them and they can help you. You can also get a tax refund at the airport. So you can get another 14% off. If you look at the right section of the shop you can find items that they have for sale. There are items that they discount up to 50%. Also when you buy an item they ask you if you want a plastic bag or a paper bag. I asked for a plastic bag because I needed it to put some items in my luggage but they gave me a beautiful reusable bag.

While working in Iceland I got from my employer a gift card which allowed me to spend about 200 dollars (equivalent in icelandic koronas) in 66North store. I heard about high quality of their garments, however price tags on those pieces were intimidating, even when compared to expensive Patagonia, Fjallraven or Arcteryx. But apart from that I must admit that I loved the design and marketing strategy of company: local, low-volume production, cutting edge technology, exeptional brand image. I decided to buy polartec fleece jacket called Tindur Shearling Jacket so I used my gift card and paid excessive part of the price in cash (it cost more than 250$). The quality of the jacket was shockingly bad, or to be more specific the quality of polartec fabric. After few weeks of light usage fuzzy structure of shealing material looked like ruffled and heavily worn. Unfortunately I travelled back to my hometown and trying to use warranty was a lot of fuss. I still like how 66North designs their clothes, but price to quality ratio is just ridiculous. In my opinion it's rather a fashion clothes company that pretend to make quality outdoor pieces. In fact it's miserable or in best cases just mediocre. Stay away form this brand if you respect your money.
Bolek K — Google review
Bought the 66 north backpack a few months ago, and been using it regularly. The quality of the backpack is extremely poor, and it started to break at the seams after only a few weeks of use. Tried to get the backpack fixed at one of the other locations, and they offered to repair it, but doing that + any shipping costs basically costs the same as buying a brand new backpack. So I highly discourage anyone to buy the backpack, and if buying any of their other products double check the quality.
Steinar L — Google review
My wife and I like shopping for unique brands when traveling. 66 North might be the coolest one we've come across. She's a runner and loves the red jacket (seen in the pic) to run in. I picked up the gray wool jacket with hood - feels like a glove. Well made product.
Dan G — Google review
I have been a 66 north customer for a few years, the fact is that I have to return a jacket and a t-shirt that fits me so big, and the shipping was to be paid by myself, it’s too expensive for a customer to send a package from Barcelona to Iceland to return 2 items.
Esteve R — Google review
I'd have to say nearly everything in Iceland is pricey, which is why this gets 4 stars as opposed to 5. We purchased a few souvenir items and have been pleased with the quality. But the prices are what kept us at bay from purchasing more even when we saw a few select items that we liked.

This tour was a wonderful experience. I wanted to make an observation because, on the way back, the bus driver didn't leave me at the same point where he picked me up. 28Destination Blue Lagoon

Bus company
Destination Blue Lagoon, located near Keflavik Airport in Iceland, is arguably one of the country's most popular attractions. Visitors can hire a car or book a coach trip to reach this geothermal wonder. Despite being a by-product of a nearby geothermal power station, the hot mineral-rich turquoise water is a must-see on any itinerary. Pre-booking is necessary but worth it for the unique experience.
Destination Blue Lagoon Bus transfer from KEF Airport Filling a spare day before leaving on a Quark Expedition to the west coast of Greenland, my hotel’s concierge recommended the Blue Lagoon. I agreed – I’ve been there twice before and enjoyed the experience. The hotel had a free shuttle that got me to the airport around 7:00 a.m., in time for the 7:30 a.m. transfer that I had booked earlier that morning. While waiting at the airport, I was concerned that I confirmed where the bus would be leaving from. I asked this of the Information Station customer assistance person at the airport’s information booth, and he (mistakenly) told me the bus would be leaving from the lot that is closest to the airport’s entrance, on the left side of the parking lots. Not so. I watched for the “Destination Blue Lagoon” logo prominently posted on both the front and side of the bus, and saw that it was taking on passengers at 7:15 a.m. from the bus parking lot on the right side of the parking lots, adjacent to the lines where taxis were waiting. Once the driver confirmed that his was indeed the bus that would depart from KEF at 7:30 and would be going directly to the Blue Lagoon, I could relax and settled in for the ride. We arrived about 25 minutes later, and as we disembarked the driver pointed to the location where we would go to catch the return trip to the airport. There are only a few return trips – the next one after he dropped us off around 8 a.m. would depart the Blue Lagoon at noon. That was more than enough time to fully appreciate what the Blue Lagoon has to offer. After showering and entering the lagoon, and wandering around for about an hour, I was ready to rinse off the silica face mask and catch up on my reading. By the time the Destination Blue Lagoon bus returned, I was ready to go back to the airport. No issues, no problems, just a very convenient way to enjoy this experience.

Really bad communication. Had a pick up at 12 so knew to be there from 11.30 sharp. 2 days before had an email to pick up would be an hour earlier but send confirm with original time. Messaged and was told it was 1pm, Messaged to say how confusing it was and to confirm the time and resend ticket. Got a reply saying it was 11.30am. Left hotel and walked 30 minutes with an 8 year old, got to the stop at 10.50am only to get an email at the bus stop to say sorry for the confusion pick up was 1pm!!! By this time it was snowing, my 8 year old was crying, we had been outside for about an hour. I called them and they said pickup was 12pm?? Just as I was about to give up the bus turned up at 11.25. Spoke to the girl when we got to the depot and said said, not sure what happened... that was it. We relaxed at the Blue Lagoon, as its hard not to but was really stressful and ruined the day a bit. In Icelandic westher, you just dont/can't be standing outside for longer than needed and certainly not with children. Better to get a Hopp/Uber to the main depot pickup, I would do that next time

I wish I would have read these reviews earlier. No communication, no one monitoring emails, no one answering the phone, no WhatsApp. Probably the worst experience I had in Iceland, I wasted two hours running from bus stops and trying to find someone to talk to. When I finally found a bus driver he told me that he only did drop offs, and didn't have a phone number to call anyone. If they don't refund my money I will dispute it with my credit card company, and I am inclined to send them an invoice for my wasted time and cab fares. The absolute worst company I dealt with in Iceland.

The Blue Lagoon in Iceland is an incredible experience and definitely worth visiting. The warm, milky-blue water surrounded by black lava fields creates a surreal and relaxing atmosphere. The water feels amazing, especially on a cold day, and the natural silica mud makes your skin super soft. It can get quite crowded and the entry price is a bit high, but the overall experience is unique and unforgettable.

Don't know what all the fuzz is about.. Booked 16:00 Blue Lagoon -> KEF, the ticket told me to be ready 10 mins in advance, which I was. Bus pulled up at 15:57 in front of the luggage depot, exactly where they said they would be and departed at 16:00 sharp. In my case there were 3 buses from different companies parked behind each other at the pickup point but they are all clearly marked and the drivers check with you where you are going before getting on.

Do NOT use this company! We were supposed to be picked up at the cruise terminal and taken to bus stop 5 and that never happened. We tried to call and had no luck. We waited 45 minutes and missed our 10am bus. What a total waste of money. Find another way.
Sarah S — Google review
No problem with the transfer between Blue Lagoon and Keflavik Airport. The driver left exactly when it was scheduled to leave and went straight to the airport. As an FYI you can leave your luggage at the Blue Lagoon parking area for free.

This company is a complete scam, we booked this bus after acknowledging the iffy reviews because we didn’t have another option. We waited at the bus pickup for 40 minutes and confirmed with other bus drivers that we were in the correct spot. Destination Blue Lagoon never showed up which left us stranded for our Blue Lagoon reservation. We ended up paying $180 USD for a taxi to get us to the blue lagoon as we had no other option. We tried calling and emailing them but received no answers at the time. Worst part is - afterwards we emailed them the situation and they took ZERO accountability and said the bus was there when multiple other passengers were left stranded too. They lied and are refusing to make the situation OKAY (not right because they made us late to our reservation and made us pay for a $180 taxi) but the least they could do is take accountability and refund our bus tickets. There is no other way to put it then these people are scammers - please please please save your self time and energy and book through a different service or bite the bullet and get a taxi.

If you're exploring Reykjavík, make sure to stop by the Reykjavík Gift Store (East European Foods). This charming shop offers a delightful selection of Eastern European delicacies, including authentic Lithuanian frozen rye bread that many locals swear is superior to its Icelandic counterpart. The store is run by a friendly local Lithuanian and his Ukrainian wife, who bring their cultural flavors to the heart of Iceland.
I come here to buy Lithuanian frozen rye bread, as its much better as Icelandic one. Great choice of food products from Ukraine and the Baltics. The shop owner is local Lithuanian and his wife is from Ukraine. The shop also sells Icelandic souvenirs for tourists. I recommend!

Poor customer service experience. Went to buy international postage stamps but had issues with pricing. Owners charged me for 3 large stamps (150 each) and 2 small ones (5 each) but claimed they equaled one international stamp when attached to a postcard. When I tried to clarify what I wanted, they refused to provide a refund. Not transparent about pricing and seemed to be reselling local stamps at inflated prices. Would not recommend for tourists looking for postal services.

What Latvian products do you have? I would like to place an order. I am interested in: 3 cans of sprats, black bread, kvass, Latvian sweets, Adazi chips, Karums cheese, dumplings, sour cream. What else can you offer? Lithuanian products are also ready to consider

When exploring the enchanting capital of Iceland, Reykjavik, it's essential to have a few handy tips up your sleeve. While tipping taxi drivers isn't customary, rounding up your fare is a nice gesture. Taxis conveniently accept major credit cards and cash, but it’s wise to confirm your payment method with the driver beforehand. To enhance your adventure in this vibrant city, consider packing wisely and planning transportation options ahead of time.
