Hands down one of the best meals we had in our Iceland trip. Beautiful presentation of food, impeccable flavours and good portion size.

Soooo delicious....was craving something healthy and had one of their salads and tomato quinoa soup today. Flavors were extremely fresh and tasty - a nice chance from hot dogs and fried foods. Salad ce with delicious flat bread and hummus, too! Highly recommend.

Such a cute cafe! There aren't many seats to dine in, so many people opt to carry out. I was in the middle of enjoying the city on my last night in Reykjavik so I grabbed a seat as soon as it opened up. I ordered the spicy falafel wrap. It was spicy and so good! I recommend that you don't try to eat this while on the go because you want to make sure you eat every single bite and what falls out of the pita! I highly recommend this little place for a delicious, healthy, and vegan meal!

What a delicious find! We had the Spicy Falafel with kimchi, greens, hummus, spring onion & pickled tomato aioli - it was absolutely outstanding! So flavorful, fresh, and perfectly balanced. There’s no restroom and only counter seating, but for a quick and healthy lunch or snack, it’s absolutely perfect. The food quality is amazing, the portions are great, and the staff is really friendly. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for something tasty, casual, and full of flavor in Reykjavík! 🥙

Average, cheap food. Perfect for a quick lunch. The biggest inconvenience is that they don’t have a toilet for the clients — not even a sink to wash your hands. The place is small and can get very crowded.

Terrible food and service. By far the worst meal we had in Iceland. We got the Kofta, Svadi special, waffle fries, lamb meatballs, and falafel. Waffle fries were soggy like it was cooked in a microwave. Meatballs and falafel were cold (lukewarm at best). The Kofta sausages were also lukewarm and still raw inside, but the staff assured us that this was normal and fully cooked. We also found a hair in it. The Svadi special was the only thing that was ok. Some of the cutlery was dirty. When we asked for sharing plates, the staff rolled her eyes and audibly sighed. Avoid!

Nice cute place, however the food I got was poor quality, especially for the price. Paid about $33 usd for meatballs that tasted like frozen meatballs you could get at a grocery store. The rolled grilled flatbread tasted like a cheese quesadilla with no flavor or substance. Dipping sauces were the best part. Would not recommend either of those dishes. They are way better places just a few minutes drive away or a 15min walk away. So, Unless you are nearby here for something else… just go elsewhere. Standard fare at average prices. We had the fish and chips; really nothing special… chips were missing the extra paprika which most Icelandic shops will sprinkle on… they only had a dash… Soup was ok… a lil pricy for the portion IMO

Fish and chips from Frysthúsid was delicious. Batter was crisp and light, fish was well cooked and moist. Fries were also good, but the fish was the star of the show. Best fish and chips I've had in a while.

While in Reykjavík, the best fish & chips we had. It’s ISK3,100 for a very decent meal that can cover both lunch and dinner, so full. They fish were so fresh and chips sprinkled with paprika was great.

Since these were pan-fried chips, I was expecting them to be crispy, but they were badly burnt and had a tough texture. If this wasn’t a cooking mistake, then it seems like there may be an issue with the recipe itself. Saying ‘this is how it’s supposed to be’ is hard to accept.

Was just walking by and in the “business” district on the water , saw this non descriptive door for a food court. Walked in friendly locals eating there, nice environment. Ordered from the fish vendor and never had such lightly fried fish and shrimp. Quick, tasty and real plates! Stop by after the lava show or fly over Iceland ! Worth it and not that bad of a price !

The burger menu is a good value: burger of your choice, chips and one sauce to be chosen among a dozen! We tried the fish burger and the vegetarian burger both nice and filling. The chips are very good, well cooked and salted and clearly made on the spot. You might wait a little but it is worthwhile. Water is available for free. Nice spot for lunch.

Good quality fish and great chips. Love the variety of sauces they offer (although I’d love them to offer a British curry sauce). The batter could be better, however, not super crunchy. The fish pieces were also a bit on the small side and had a sour juice inside the batter (before adding lemon).

We got two orders of classic fish & chips. It was fresh, hot and delicious. I took a bite before I took a picture. I got the spicy mayo sauce and my mom got the chive sauce. Delicious!!!! One of the best meals we’ve had. We are from the states.

As an American I’m probably not the best fish and chips connoisseur, but Reykjavík Chips has been a top-3 fish and chips I've ever had. Period. I’ve had fish and chips in London (9.5/10) and in southern Portugal (8.5/10) and Japan (7/10) and at several places smattered throughout the USA (New England, Pac NW consistently have solid 8.5-9.5/10 F&C). But this place… My GF got F&C with the pickle dipping sauce and I got F&C with the garlic dipping sauce. And while both sauces were great, the fish by itself with just a squeeze of lemon was all it needed. It was light and flakey and the breading was 🤌🏼 chef’s kiss. If I lived here I’d have a difficult time not getting it daily. 9.75/10 would HIGHLY recommend.

I got the cocktail of the week, I don't remember what it was but it may have been one of the best cocktails I've ever had. The food was also outstanding. We came back another night just for drinks and that cocktail of the week was also amazing.

Best brunch in Reykjavik by far. Unlimited and incredibly tasty dishes. The selection is large and customization is possible. Everything is made to order so it's always fresh and piping hot. Excellent stuff. Will visit again often.

A nice, quirky restaurant with friendly and brilliant service. I ordered the Double Bastard burger — it was tasty but a little lacking in flavour for me. My husband tried the pepperoni flatbread, which was a bit too quirky in taste for our liking. The only downside was that the tables were quite close together, leaving little room to manoeuvre. Overall, a fun spot with great service, though the flavours might not suit everyone.

Visited this location in October 2025. Great service from the staff! Felt welcomed and answered any questions we had about the menu. Food options were good. The cauliflower tacos were tasty, and the pretzel with jalapeño cheese was good. Was excited to try Iceland beer and it didn’t disappoint. Worth a stop in if you’re interested in the different varieties available. This location has cocktails as well that seemed interesting, but maybe a next time try.

This place is great. Nice drink selection, burgers and salad were both very good. Server was attentive and gave us some good recommendations. Would definitely go here again. Cool vibe with artwork that has been “bastardized”.

Great selection of food stands. Anything from fish & chips to oriental and ice cream. Fun venue to spend budget friendly evening with friends.

Amazing food hall. If you don’t know what you want or everyone in your party wants something different, this is the place to go. Can feel slightly cramped when busy but everyone was so patient and friendly. Shared a table with an Indian family, happily discussed what everyone got. On the table was wolf fish cream dish, pizza, tacos, gelato, and a pork and rice Vietnamese dish. All amazing. Order and find a table, wait for food buzzer to go off.

This was the perfect stop for a quick lunch! It’s a great way to try all different things! I highly recommend the blue mussels from the one location, and the croquettes from Krost. Definitely in great vibe, plenty of seating, and friendly service.

Amazing choice of food. My husband had fish and chips and he said its the best he's ever had. I had steak and it was exceptional. We went 2 days running. Excellent food, quality and service. Highly recommend.

We stopped by Hlemmur Mathöll after seeing several online recommendations, but unfortunately, we left feeling unimpressed. The overall atmosphere felt a bit uninviting, and the space itself seemed somewhat dirty and less well maintained than other nearby food halls. In terms of variety, the options here were noticeably limited compared to other spots in Reykjavík. What also stood out was the poor customer service. Several of the employees came across as rude, and one interaction in particular stood out. A child dropped his fork, and when the mother asked for a new one, the employee was oddly argumentative and reluctant to help. If you are nearby and need a quick bite, it is passable. But with so many better food halls in the area, I would not go out of my way to return or recommend it to others.

I am on vacation in Reykjavik, Iceland and went to crab a bit to eat at Fjarhusid Hlemmur, and please note, THE SERVICE AND THE FOOD WAS HORRIBLE!!! I ordered a burger, fries, and a small order of wings. When I went to the counter to pickup my order I asked the waiter if I could have my order to go because I received a call requiring me to immediately meet my wife. The waiter had an attitude with me requesting that my order be prepared for carry out; he stated I should have told them up front , and the next time to do so! I was polite and apologized. I then asked to have my burger cut in half. The cook again got an attitude as though I was asking for too much!! The lady at the register got a knife to cut the burger in half, however, the cook rudely told her “NO,” then snatched the knife from her hand!!!. I said “so you’re not cutting my sandwich in half” and he looked at me and said “NO”; he then and told the lady at the register to hand me my Order. Mind you I had already paid with my credit card so I just took my order and left. When I began to eat the burger the flavor was horrible, and to my surprise, significantly undercooked to the point of being literally raw in the middle as you can see in my attached photo!!! I did not want to walk back to complain because of how I was treated when I initially placed my order. Reykjavík Iceland is beautiful, however, the horrible service, and food at Fjarhusid Hlemmur has left a very bad impression!!! If anyone has plans to visit Reykjavík avoid Fjarhusia Hlemmur restaurant!!! There are many other restaurants in the area with far superior service and food than Fjarhusid Hlemmur!!

The vegan food was amazingly tasty! The homemade juice was delicious, and the cacao drink SO yummy! The upstairs restaurant is very cozy, great vibe, healthy options that taste great and the wait staff are very kind and you know each dish is ordered with wellness in mind. A home run place to visit and eat, drink and be healthy!

Had a delicious curry and my non-vegan husband had a chili and we each got garlic naan. Both were very flavorful and filling. The cafe was cozy and charming. Great vegan options!

The food was absolutely delicious, one of the best food places in all of Reykjavik. It's a little hidden away which, but I'm glad we found it. It's a little expensive, but it seems good for Reykjavik prices. highly recommended coming here for lunch or dinner. Yoda was a beautiful dog.

Love the Staff! Genuine! Love the food! Full of flavor! Chili Sin Carne 10/10 - (spice level 7/10) Dhal a la Mama, not my favorite, a bit sweet for me, does have a flavor. I won’t rate, as i have my biased against sweeter hot meals. Drink Kambucha was okay, i am not a drink expert. I will be trying other dishes and drinks and update my review. I am here 3rd day in a row 🙂 Atmosphere is amazing, glass roof windows make it a unique experience!

A Perfect Final Treat in Iceland We chose to dine here on our last day in Iceland, and it was the perfect way to end our two-week adventure. I had been looking forward to this meal the entire trip… and it absolutely lived up to the hype. We ordered the vegan dahl and curry, garlic naan, a smoothie, the orgasm cake, and a peanut bliss ball. Everything was bursting with flavor - the smoothie in particular was incredibly refreshing, and the desserts were just as memorable. I really appreciate their commitment to using natural, wholesome ingredients. The service was warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing, exactly what you want after a long day. If you’re in Iceland, do yourself a favor and eat here.

My friends and I were looking for some hearty food that would warm us from the inside out, and we found it here! The dhal was our favorite dish here. It was warm and lightly spiced. It felt both healthy and hearty. Leaving our meal, we felt nourished. Heads up if you’re expecting an authentic South Asian meal, this isn’t it. However the dishes take inspiration from global flavors. The entrance is a bit hard to find. We had to go through a courtyard and then up stairs, but the short journey was well worth it because the interior was so cute and cozy! Even if you aren’t vegetarian/vegan, you will still enjoy this meal!

I’m a local and it’s one of my favorite places. The food is hearty, satisfying, delicious, and made with love, and the herbal teas - especially Love Potion - are always warming and delightful. My favorite is Dahl a la Mama, though I sometimes get the weekly soup, which today was cauliflower/coconut and yummy.

Happy to find this place offering Mediterranean food in the middle of Reykjavik. Food is good. I got the mixed meat and it was excellent. Hummus didn’t have a lot of flavor and it’s a small amount. I missed some pita bread instead of the “chips” they offer.

The Shoarma is really good. Prices are very fair. I had the lamb shoarma and chicken shoarma. I prefer the lamb shoarma. Pro tip: ask for extra meat. It comes at an additional cost but well worth it

Poor attitude and behaviour. Didn't serve me on plates rather said I didn't ask to be served on plate. Smelly lamb in shawarma. Never coming back here. Stay away from this place.

Food is decent, but beware of the guy taking the orders on Saturday nights. Consistently overcharging by 300-600 on every order and taking advantage of unsuspecting people (and drunk kids) by withholding the receipt. I dont mind paying whatever the price is but dislike the dishonesty. Also confidently handing people wrong orders. Saving grace was no one was paying attention and they are open late.

Traveled to Iceland last week and finally got to try Yuzu Burger. I wish we had one in California—those smash burgers seriously hit the spot. Loved all the dipping sauce options too; it was tough to choose, but the garlic mayo did not disappoint. Already missing it!

Tried Yuzu burger in the food hall. This is the best burger I’ve had in a long time, and I’m American! Full of flavor, huge size, and delicious crispy sweet potato fries! Not to mention they have rice and GF beer! The cashier was super friendly and helped me choose which one I wanted. Hit the spot!

Surprisingly light weight and very tasty. Very much recommend the spicy ketchup. Location inside of the food hall makes it very convenient groups of people who don't like the same things and/or provide a good variety.

If you’re in Reykjavík and not eating a Yuzu burger… are you even doing it right? These burgers are seriously delicious, juicy, flavour-packed, and borderline addictive. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The location inside Pósthús Food Hall is perfect, central, chill vibe, and great for people-watching while you devour your burger masterpiece. Yuzu, you’ve officially earned a spot in my Reykjavik food memories. I’ll be back, and I’m bringing my appetite.

We tried the vegan version of the classic burger, it was a nice edition. The fries where wavy, crispy golden and especially good. The service from Yuzu staff was top, very kind and acommodating. The ambience is noisy but still cosy. Also be prepared to smell like a grillbar yourself, when you leave the food hall… but overall a good experience. Thanks Yuzu!

The burgers here are super good value for money. If you want a cozy evening out but don't want to break the bank I think this is a good option. The burgers were nice and the chips I absolutely loved.

Ambiance: A casual diner vibe. It has comfy booth and tables and chairs. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. Service: They were very nice and patiently answered all our questions. Food: We got the Banh Mi and the shrimp seitan wok dish. Both courses were on point and seasoned perfectly. The seitan was perfectly cooked and had a nice crispy texture. The veggies were all nicely seasoned. The Banh Mi hit the spot, the mix of spicy with the pickled veggies was on point. It has a retro diner vibe. It was a welcome find after a long day of sight seeing and a long walk through Reykjavik. It's one of several vegan restaurants I had planned on visiting while on vacation. The food did not disappoint. I had the vegan shrimp chow mein. The serving size was generous and the service was very good. The menu offers many different items. You will definitely find something you would enjoy!

Honestly not the best food:/ my chow mein was sooo salty I couldn’t eat it. The dumplings taste more like egg rolls. I mean, it’s nice to find a fully vegan restaurant in Iceland but not my fav unfortunately.

It is just like the Loving Hut we go to at home😁 Great Vegan food. Prices were only a few dollars more than at home (really reasonable by Iceland standards). Vegan Cake was amazing! They also have a few freezers with vegan items (like Beyond Meat Breakfast Sausages) that you could take home to cook. Great place!

Probably one of the best Loving Hut locations I've been to around the world. Food came out quickly, everything was delicious. Portion size for the cost - especially in Reykjavik as an out of towner who wasn't used to paying so much for food - was absolutely incredible. Had the best experiences! Only in Iceland for Less than 48 hours. Got to our Airbnb at 8:22 and everything closes at 9. Sped walked to Loving Hut and they not only helped recommend dishes, but they told us we could stay and eat and take our time even though they were closing. The food & staff are soo good we came back today and ordered Green & yellow curry and pad Thai. All delicious! I’m not Vegan, but They’re tempting me to reconsider

Stumbling upon this spot on Google Maps was a great find for a vegetarian lunch in Iceland. It's entirely vegan/veg, which is a nice change. The restaurant has a very unfussy, no-frills aesthetic—just a clean, simple space with tables. It feels like a very local, family-run operation. The cuisine leans heavily towards Asian, Thai, and Oriental flavors, setting it apart from the typical Indian vegetarian places you often see globally. You order at the counter and the friendly, helpful staff brings your meal to the table, ready to answer any questions about the menu. While I'm a picky eater and only found the food quality to be 'okay,' my wife really enjoyed her rice dish and the food overall, especially since she prefers Asian-style cuisine. It was a good overall experience. The people are genuinely nice, and despite the simple decor, the place is clean. We'll definitely try it again on our next trip to the area.

Apparently this place is a roulette when it comes to ordering food. One time its perfectly fine, the next time it is so spicy you basically need a hospital (while ordering it without spicy sauce) And then to top it of, when you return your order and ask, again, for one without spicy sauce they even dare to give you an even more spicy version which means I was not able to eat anything for the rest of the day because of the pain. What a wonderful customer service, what a perfect way of listening to your customers needs. Result: a ruined evening and a night full of horrible stomach pain. Thank you.

I live in London and I know what is Shawarma. I ordered the lamb Shawarma and as they started to prepare it he grabbed the meat with his hands and added to the meat that was already on the grill and the colour of the meat looked more like chicken so I had to ask thinking he thought I wanted chicken shoarma. He said it was lamb but I had my doubts. Anyway upon eating it , it tasted nothing like lamb but some kind of mixed meat. I know what is lamb , it's my favourite meat.The customer service was also bad we ordered fries and it came with a lot of sauce on it. When we told them that we wanted only fries they made a big fuss. Anyway in my opinion spend your money somewhere else so you don't have any regrets cause Reykjavik is expensive. I have to add that the reason why we ordered the fries was because the shoarma was so bad. The choice is yours.

The bakery is small and busy, so I felt rushed and didn’t have much time to consider all the options. I decided on the first thing that appealed to me, which was the pretzel croissant. Not a bad choice. It’s got the flaky texture of a croissant with the distinctive pretzel taste of lye. Quite unique and I recommend trying it. We also got some cinnamon and pecan pastries. I can’t personally sing their praises because I’m not a fan of those flavours, but the people who ate them enjoyed them. It would be nice to have a. dining area, but there is a small playground near the bakery where you can sit and eat.

It’s a cute little spot that serves a variety of pastries. We tried the famous Icelandic cinnamon roll and a square shaped pastry (not sure about the name, hahaaa) both were very cinnamon-y and quite sweet. It’s a great place to sample local sweets, though the only downside is that there’s no seating area, so everything is to-go. Other than that, it’s a perfect little nook! :)

honestly the best pastry I’ve had in a long time! I tried the caramel & müsti - absolutely incredible! A bit pricey, but totally worth it. There are only two seats by the window (otherwise it’s mostly to-go), and we were lucky enough to grab one - super cozy spot and 100% recommend! 🥐☕

Simply amazing. I love a proper bakery and these guys are legit. So much to choose from. I grabbed a couple of traditional Icelandic treats and both were very good. One was a chilli cheese twist bread and the other a flaky vanilla and cinnamon pastry. So so good.

Stopped by Brauð & Co while on vacation after seeing it on "Somebody Feed Phil." When Mr. Rosenthal said that Brauð & Co makes the best cinnamon roll in the world, he was not joking. Hands down - it's the best cinnamon roll I've ever had. I love a gooey center, and Brauð & Co somehow made their center gooey and molten like a lava cake. Americans, please note: the cinnamon roll is fully cooked. The center is supposed to be that way and it's FABULOUS! I think the cinnamon rolls in heaven will be like this. Go for the recommended standard cinnamon roll and thank me later! Way to go, Brauð & Co. You have achieved cinnamon roll perfection!!

The first place we visited after arriving in Iceland on October 11 was this bakery, and we absolutely loved it. The staff were as friendly as before, and one of the male staff members was especially kind to us. We were in a hurry to catch a whale watching tour, but his warm attitude really brightened our day. Thank you for your kindness and for making our visit so pleasant! The bread here is amazing, and your friendliness made it even more memorable. 💛

More than hype. Legit good. I wondered if I would like this place, as from photos it’s hard to tell if their famous cinnamon buns are moist or dry. I can attest they are very moist, especially when warm still fresh from the oven, full of butter, perfect balance of cinnamon and sugar including a bit of crispness in the outer rings from outer sugar crystallizing during the bake. Other pastries were also great. This place is legit good!

Very nice experience with the nova offer. I visited for a special occasion. Got the three course set menu. Really enjoyed the saffron lobster soup and the tiramisu. Service is prompt and friendly. Portion sizes were great. I was not a huge fan of the fish dish we got this time but I'm sure it'll be better next time. Would visit again and recommend. Very nice wall paintings too.

We really enjoyed our experience here. The food was amazing - we had the Chef’s tasting menu (highly recommended)- the service was top notch and the atmosphere was lively and energetic. We loved Kol and highly recommend it.

Excellent dining experience. Very busy but staff was friendly and responsive. Seated so I had a great view of the prep line which I enjoyed. Ordered Reindeer per the recommendations of a fellow patron seated next to me. Glad I did. The reindeer was expertly prepared and delicious. The kitchen sent out a small brioche toast with cheese and tomatoes witch was amazing. Didn't save room for dessert although they did look delicious also.

The lamb fillet 🍖 was so tender and flavorful. The grilled grapes, carrots, and potato on the side was perfect as well. The service is amazing and the staff are very kind. The wait is long if you want a table so recommended to reserve beforehand.

Wow the food was delicious. I ordered the fillet of lamb as I liked the sound of it (I normally don't eat lamb as I'm not a big fan) but this was UNREAL. Really recommend! Vibey decor too and really lovely staff. My favourite meal in Reykjavik!

Food is really good. The rice is flavourful and I really did not expect the hummus to blow my mind that hard (I’ve been to Turkey and Greece). They u fortunately ran out of rice for my order :( though they did work something out :) can be kinda slow at times when there are lots of people.

What a delightful and wonderful surprise! The place itself was quite unassuming, tucked away on a side corner of the street, actually quite close to a higher-rated shawarma establishment. The Arabian lamb kebab they serve there is absolutely delicious! The accompanying salad really complemented the lamb so perfectly. My friends ordered lamb shawarma as well, and they were both quite surprised by how good the food was. The service was also excellent, with the food being served hot and fresh straight from the kitchen. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're visiting Reykjavik.

Very good Syrian restaurant, which serves falafel, shawarma, hummus and other foods. They asked us if the food should be vegan, which I didn’t expect. It’s nice to sit in there and the service is very nice and friendly. The prices are very reasonable for the area.

AMAZING chicken shawarma. Wow, the sauce is so simple but packed with flavor and chicken and lettuce just goes so well simple in that wrap. And we got kiebb? Um that salad, chef kiss. The chicken in it was just ok, the outer layer fry wasnt too oily and taste really good w hot sauce.

An ice cream shop with an interesting atmosphere. Inside, the colorful walls blend well with the sweets sold. Not a lot of space and not much room to sit. The ice cream is big and tasty, but the prices are cosmic. No parking due to the strict center.

It was our first night in Reykjavik, getting late and there wasn’t very much open. The shop smelled amazing and the variety was really nice. They accommodated my daughter’s allergy. The ice cream that came with the crepe was yummy. The crepe however didn’t have as much flavour or filling as I would have expected, given the price. I was disappointed. 2 crepes ended up being over $60 Cdn. Not worth it in my opinion.

Not only was everything so yummy, the staff was very friendly, warm, and kind. They make you feel at home. The music was also super fun with lots of Latin music. The decor was fun and chic. This was a lovely experience for our first day in Iceland.

Valdís is one of the colourful ice cream places I’ve ever been to! 🍦 The variety of flavors is amazing – from classic favorites to unique, creative ones you won’t find elsewhere. The texture is creamy, the taste is bit different but good. The staff is friendly and patient, happily letting you sample before you decide. Eggless options were also available. The vibe of the place is cheerful and cozy, making it perfect for families, friends, or even a solo treat.

Lots of flavors, which they let you sample. I tried the salted liquorice, which is definitely unique and made well too. However, we decided to share the melon and strawberry gelato, which you can taste both. I would come back here next time!

The attitude of the lady behind the counter was horrible. I went with my wife wanting to buy their ice cream. We requested to try the flavors and was was told that my sample quota is up on 2nd try.(First try: Pistachio, 2nd try: Rye bread). *Both flavors are horrible*. After asking, I was told that 1 person is only entitled to try 2 flavors. Even if you share the sample, you are also considered tried the sample. So end up, me and my wife only try 2 flavors and we ended up buying the chocolate flavor ones. We went there seeing so many videos on social media recommending it. But honestly, I will not recommend this store at all.

This is not ice cream, artificial sweeteners and flavors. The strawberry one tastes like bubblegum, and pistachio ice cream should not give light in the dark. There’s an Italian one in the center that is waaaaaaaaay better.

The ramen was the best ramen I’ve ever had anywhere! I came back to have it again because it was so good. I had the tori, chashu, and gyoza during my visits there. Highly recommend! The staff is excellent and attentive as well.

we were coming back to the city late after a long day, and this was the perfect little spot to eat at. it takes about 10 minutes to get your food, and you are seated either outside or inside at the bar (no alcohol). wide selection of ramen with lots of sides. the noodles and broth were very flavorful, staff were also really nice. the kitchen is small, they make the food right in front of you. even passing by the outside, it smells really good. limited seating, but it clears up relatively quickly. don’t miss the water station in the corner!

Cool place, super small at this location, seating for 8 only making it more cozy and intimate. The ramen soup base was perfect, not too fatty and the noodles are hand made and perfectly cooked. The chashu pork was grilled on one side giving it a little tasty crunch.

This place was recommended in different online forums and highly rated but not even close to being worth it. It’s absurdly expensive for the amount of food you actually get. I don’t know if my partner and I got the tourist serving but the bowl was a normal size ramen bowl and only about a quarter of it was full. The ramen was just ok. No depth to the broth and noodles were fine. Do not get the “extra spicy” as there is zero spice even after adding the entire paste. I know Iceland is expensive, but $72 dollars for 2 bowls of ramen and 2 sodas is robbery. I would highly recommend going somewhere else this place is not worth it at all.

had a great dining experience here - food was good especially because i am lactose intolerant and i could enjoy fish soup and cod here without cream and milk. server called Andre was really genuine and friendly and saw that he put in the heart and effort to connect with different guests as well, not only did he let me know that the food i ordered could be cheaper counted as 2 courses menu instead of ordering separately, he offered me an extra hot water to take away becausw he saw i was cold and a bit sick. the kind of restaurant that made you grateful for kindness

An outstanding brunch location! Takes a while to walk down to the harbour but it is absolutely worth it. The staff were incredibly friendly and let us chill inside before they opened as the weather was quite brutal. Reasonably priced with amazing food and drinks. They offer a single vegan option "the vegan surprise". We had this and the breakfast burrito both were amazing. The vegan dish was designed as a vegan dish rather then removing non vegan elements and was incredible. They have a great drinks selection and we tried their beetroot mimosa which if you like beetroot is highly recommended. The restaurant is very cosy with great interior and amazing bathrooms. Sounds weird but some of the best bathrooms I've seen in a restaurant.

Easy to find location near the marina. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. I went for brunch on a Saturday and ordered the vegan surprise. It was basically a loaded avocado toast and potatoes and absolutely AMAZING. Highly recommend when you're in Reykjavik.

Absolutely delicious! I had the eggs Florentine with a blue cheese sauce, perfect sour dough, and delicious greens. Reasonably priced drinks for Iceland. English spoken and English menus available. Very homey atmosphere. Can get quite crowded for brunch. Small but pretty wheelchair friendly—there’s a metal ledge to get in (an inch or two high) that would require some help and a giant wheelchair accessible bathroom.

My favorite spot in Iceland. I took my friends here for a brunch and they loved it. The service was great (sorry we kept asking for stuff) and the food was also really good. The place itself is well decorated and really pretty. Their bathroom is also super cute lol. Located literally right by the harbor and Valdi’s and also near FlyOverIceland and the whale museum so if you’re into that this is the place to eat.

We got the arctic char with potatoes and it was delicious! The place is nicely designed and all the staff were so helpful, friendly and professional. They have a great wine list and cocktail menu. I would definitely come again!

We’re staying in Reykjavik for end caps of our visit, and saw this place had great reviews and were very intrigued by the menu. What an amazing meal! Our waiter, Ayrton, was a real gem. The food was 10/10. We split the burrata, the baked cheese Wellington, and the teriyaki artic char. All were literally amazing with wonderful flavors, the flavoring highlighted the meal and everything was so well done. We also enjoyed the music playing and the general ambiance. Would 100% dine in again, highly recommend.

Had I not been in Iceland I would have thought I was going to be in an episode of Bar Rescue. Service was horrible. We had to flag down a server for every request from placing our order to water to the check. We had a reservation and it was not busy. I’m not sure how this restaurant rates so well. The day I visited they had vegetable soup and pumpkin curry as the meals. I must say the pumpkin curry might have been the best curry I've ever had in my life. The soup was really good too and they even had gluten free bread to go with the soup too. I wish I was here for longer so I could come back again!

Had our brunch at Duck & Rose. It was a bit crowded and the staff placed us near the door. We ordered lúxus brunch which includes bottomless drink,a meal from the brunch menu and pancakes for dessert. Overall the food was good and worth the price.

I gave this place a 4-star rating mainly because of the luxury brunch, which included a brunch item, bottomless drinks for 2hrs and a mini stack of pancakes and berries. The food was average, but the bottomless drinks for the price point was worth it and definitely the standout! We had a group of 13 of us that split onto two tables. The food presentation was great, the atmosphere was nice and it’s a very convenient location.

Sitting outside in the sun and enjoying nice food and cold drinks is wonderful. The portions are big and the food was great. Took a while for them to clean the table, and I am not a big fan of the QR code ordering, but all in all good experience. The restaurant looks nice on the inside also and the toilet's were clean.

I came with my wife on Thursday evening. The place was packed, but the guy in charge was super friendly and asked us to hang out at the bar while we waited. About 10 minutes later, he got us a table. The staff were all really nice, attentive, and made us feel welcome. I had the fish, my wife went for the lamb, and both dishes were seriously delicious. All in all, a great experience. Wonderful restaurant from the staff who were very pleasant & attentive to the food which was simply amazing! Lemon tagliatelle tasted with every mouthful like a taste explosion everything was well cooked, and plentiful king prawns & scallops, with just the right balance of lemon. A beautiful plate of food, With the finale of meringue pomegranate & cream with white chocolate YUM again the balance of flavours was wonderful. The steak sandwich was well cooked, flavoursome & a real good hearty portion if your looking for something delicious & filling this is for you, finishing off with my favourite tiramisu, don't let the portion size fool you as it's packed with flavour. iRaving about this restaurant but rightly so.

Came here for the cats and also saw there was good food - turns out NOT. We ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and had only one thin slice of cheese so basically it was just bread. Wow, you gotta try these! They have a whole menu of different options, I went with caramel and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Absolutely delicious!!! Kinda small inside but it’s right in the walking district so I just bought and ate while I walked. Make sure to grab napkins! I promise this place won’t disappoint you

Lovely hot dessert on a cold day. At first we were worried that it’ll be surfeiting but they were super light and crispy at the same time. Appreciate that the sauces were kept warm too! We tried the pistachio combo and it was not overly sweet. Highly recommended!

Not really impressed at all. The ingredients were good but wasn't salt at all, no soy sauce to add, no sriracha or any other chilli sauces....nothing. The noodles were little over cooked, made the dish even more disappointing. Only thing that was good, was the presentation of the dish. Soft drinks to buy but not even a beer!! Thai and wok food is my favorite and this is one of the lowest ranking I would give.

Decent place for a healthy meal for reasonably prices. The only downside is that they don't have an English menu even online, so do your research and a bit of translation beforehand so you know about all the extras. My meal was good (got all veggies) but it definely had way too much sauce by the end of it, so the last veggies were swimming. Tasty nonetheless! I'd definitely come back.

Cheap and cheerful place for good food. Is inside a food hall. So you have plenty of choice from Italian food, to Sushi, Mexican Mexicans and Grill food.

Very bad customer service. The staff doesn't explain when we ask for help, they talk sassy about the customers negatively and they gave us a dirty glance. We ordered dine in, but they gave us the food in takeaway boxes, because they "didn't want to wash the dishes", but I see other people getting regular bowls before and after. Feels almost a bit racist. One of them also uses their phone before preparing the food without changing gloves or washing their hands. That's very unsanitary and disgusting. While we were talking in English to them they were busy talking in Icelandic to each other. And when my father (who is Icelandic) spoke Icelandic to them, they got shocked and clearly the girl whispered “oh he speaks icelandic". They started whispering when they found out that my father speaks icelandic, sounds very much like they were talking badly about us. There should be a responsible adult supervising them. Rude, discriminating, sassy, unsanitary teenagers doesn't exactly make it tempting to come back.

It's a fast food style with a sitting area, the food is good, however ordering is a bit complicated especially when someone butt ahead on line. The person who serve us is very helpful, that's the consolation.

I came in for a quick breakfast. The eggcado was nice and filling. The matcha latte was really nice. Not sweet, which happens a lot. I liked it so much, I came back around lunchtime for another matcha latte and a shake. Food and drinks are served quite fast. Although there is no separate order/pick up, the system works fine.

The place is lively but very disorganized. The line was confusing, with people waiting for food and placing orders in the same spot, and only three staff handling everything. Tables were dirty and cleaned reluctantly when asked. Gluten-free options are not safe for celiacs — we had to cancel our order after noticing cross-contamination, and even the refund was incorrect at first. With better organization and more care, this restaurant could improve a lot.

$21 CAD for a dry sandwich with very little inside. Celiac friend couldn't eat here despite advertised gluten free items because the same grill is used.

Smoothie and tea were not bad, but the place was dirty and messy, waiters were lazy, and instead of cleaning and organizing were just chatting. Personnel was too young and unprofessional, but surely very cheap. Manager must do great profit considering the excessive prices. Not recommended.

I was in Reykjavik for a conference that didn't offer gluten free food, so I ended up visiting Joe and the Juice each day for lunch. The staff were so lovely and welcoming, and it was a nice place to sit for a respite from the busy conference. I would happily come back any time I find myself in Iceland! Shout out to Yulia (or Julia, apologies for not knowing the spelling) for being so friendly each day on the till.

However did not appreciate the guy at the counter with an earring scoffing and laughing at me to his little coworker for... being a foreigner I assume? after I had told him my (obviously non-Icelandic) name. Not sure why you'd work in a downtown area where there's lots of tourists on the daily if it's such a problem. 🤷‍♀️ You go for a good drink and not to be treated as a human by the baristas I suppose! Would recommend a different location if you're determined to come here.

I had the spicy tuna on gluten free bread and it was very good! Gluten free bread in American restaurants is not always that yummy, so I wasn't expecting much but this bread was delicious. I thought the Red Supreme smoothie was just okay, but my partner really liked it. He also enjoyed the turkey sandwich (on regular bread) and the Power smoothie.

I truly enjoyed this meal! Overall the food was tasty to the palate and the eye. Flavors were rich but not heavy, textures fresh and snappy, atmosphere relaxed and unhurried. Would eat here again in a minute. UPDATE: I DID eat here again and was really pleased by the taste and quality of all the dishes we tried. Service was efficient and matter of fact, which is perfectly acceptable.

Great to find a vegan gluten free restaurant right in the middle of Reykjavik. We enjoyed our pad thai and pineapple rice. Both well presented and good portions. Prices are not bad to be in Reykjavik, lower than average as far as we could see from various menus around. Wow… there were so many great options that it took me a while to make a decision! Being a rainy Wednesday, it wasn’t very busy at lunch time. Sooo people are missing out on this lovely place! Quick, prompt service and a spacious restaurant that could easily accommodate a large group. I loved it and hope to be back again. I had the braised tofu which was excellent. Even the plain looking rice was cooked perfectly and was super tasty with the sesame seeds on top.

Good flavours with generous portion sizes and so I recommend ordering carefully. Two of us came here very hungry and ordered a salad, soup and a main with a side of kimchi. 75% of soup and kimchi had to be let go because we couldn’t eat anymore.

If you’re looking for a great place to eat in Iceland, Salatbarrin Íslandia is definitely worth a visit. It’s an all-you-can-eat buffet offering a wide selection of fresh, high-quality dishes. From salads and soups to hot mains and delicious sides, there’s something for everyone. The food is very diverse, with plenty of healthy and hearty options. It’s a spot that’s also popular with locals, which is always a good sign. On top of that, the value for money is excellent, especially considering how expensive eating out in Iceland can be. Whether you’re after a quick lunch or a relaxed meal.

As a frequenter of buffets, this is one of the best buffets I've ever had. They have Icelandic classics like fish stew and lamb as well as a bunch of other cold items and sides (like samosas). You know it's good when the clientele is pretty much all locals and workers stopping in for lunch. Got real crowded real fast. Also, we didn't have to donate our livers to eat here. One of the few reasonably priced places in the whole city...probably because it's outside downtown where all the locals are. If you want to be FED for a good price, HIGHLY recommend making the trip out here.

A really wonderful experience. The food is great, the service is prompt and polite. There's coffee and very good desserts. It would be nice to have some cooked vegetables, but otherwise everything is perfect. There's a soda machine too! I only hope this doesn't get too crowded normally. Will definitely visit often. EDIT: They do, in fact have cooked vegetables, namely steamed broccoli, and mashed potato cutlets! There's also rice which goes fantastically well with the occasional lamb curry

Hands down the best, most reasonably priced food during our eight days in Iceland. The food was well-prepared and delicious, and not one food choice disappointed us. It was also nice to hear people speaking Icelandic to each other. We finally felt we were truly in Iceland!!! It was a great way to end our vacation!

Nice place with different small restaurants for almost all tastes. Beautiful view of the water. The wrap that I took to take away was OK but the meat was a little stiff.

This is actually a food corner with different food vendors to choose from. A lot of locals with family are dining here. A kind of cool place. The dish I had past with shrimp was a Okey. The past is a little under cooked and the shrimps most like were frozen shrimps, and over all is a little too salty.

We loved everything we got at this place. We went to three different vendors. I added images of each place as well as photos with the empty plates as proof. The chicken bread was my personal favorite from Hipstur. The falafel was the best Ive tasted. The pasta place as you walk in is a underrated gem. The atmostphere and customer service was great.

Very new and clean environment for an afternoon chill and hang out with friends. If you have no idea for meal, here they have different choices of cousins. I ordered pan fried fish with risotto, serving with salad and a bread. The taste was good but no surprise, besides the price is fair. However I like the sparkling raspberry drink, very refreshing~

We have eaten here a couple of times over our stay in Iceland. Tonight we tried “ALLES” and we were very pleased. The service was excellent and the staff were very helpful in aiding us to make food choices (samples and all)! They are also very kind. The value is good for your money as well. Some recipes are family recipes and the food is hearty and tasty. I recommend the lamb soup! It was the perfect warm meal prior to our northern lights boat tour. The sous vide open faced steak sandwich is also cooked to perfection. Would recommend :) definitely not the kind of food you’d expect to find in a food hall, but we were pleasantly surprised. I tried svala bowls because they had a nice 1000kr for a bowl offer and I think that was a great deal. I will be back to try the acai bowl, but the prince charming was very very good. From the place, it's another mathöll but fancier looking. It has different "restaurants" and places to eat. It's cozy and not quite in the center but a 15min walk away.

Nice food court with lots of options from where to choose. There is Thai, Italian, Mexican, Sea Food, Hamburgers, Meat, Pizza and more. Love the fish and chips from Hipstur, really good and great service. It has a lot of seating places and even a place for large groups.

in shawarma there was only salad, sauce and 2! slices of meat. I do not recommend

Wow! First night in Iceland and a fantastic meal that really took me by surprise. For anyone from UK this is not your average kebab place. A nice setting with subdued lighting. A great menu with some Syrian/Arabic touches and flavours and excellent service. If we had not been interested it trying some different cuisine we would have been back every night of our trip! Thanks for a great meal and great service.

Tasty, well presented affordable food. Everything is halal. Service was excellent and they accommodated our preferences. Restaurant is clean and lovely authentic seating area. Highly recommend!

Update Portions are back to normall, nice service. For know we took 2 times. Something changed. this was a fantastic Restaurant. Today the portion was incredibly small and produce quality was way different. Meat was great per usual, but the amount was ridiculously small. We didn't intend to order a children's happy meal.

This restaurant is really nice. There aren't many halal options in Reykjavik, but out of the ones we tried, this was the best. There's free road parking, and the restaurant is big with plenty of seating. The service was quick and the prices are similar to other places if not lower - around £12 per person for a good-sized plate of food which we felt was excellent value for Iceland.

Very tastefully decorated. It's cute on the inside. Little loud. The food is very reasonably priced. Good portion sizes. Some of the offers are very attractive. Went with two zorbian plates which were filling enough. Would have liked to have the option to have extra meat. Loved that there were chillies available! Will visit often probably. I've taken takeaway before and liked it but the store is nice to sit and eat in too.

This place is serving some really tasty Syrian food! For me the Zorbian chicken or lamb are my favourite, usually with a few pieces of falafel on the side. You should not expect fancy service or a three course menu, this is just if you want some quick but very good food!

Cute cafe. A vegan haven. They were also very helpful with a last minute cake request. It's a bit pricy of course, but worth it for special occasions. The summer menu is eclectic and fun. The carrot cake stands out. Lemon tarts were nice, interesting in that the flavor was from the cream topping. . Can see myself returning.

Went here twice on our holiday to Iceland. The pastries and coffee were excellent! I would highly recommend the cheese bun to try but I am a massive fan of the cakes they have here. Thank you so much for making such a lovely vegan space!

Cute cafe nook, I was drawn to the artwork along the wall as I walked past the cafe and I chatted with the staff about local unique artwork. I tried the lemon cake, sweet moist and lemony delicious, and it was a tough choice, I was told by the staff the carrot cake is popular well priced cakes are between 1,095 to 1,245, highly recommended for a sweet and warm treat. A busy place with locals and a fresh selection of delicious cakes and hot drinks. Friendly engaging service.

Ummmm a place in Reykjavik named Nebraska?! My wife and I are from Nebraska, so of course we had to go! For my 40th birthday no less! Food was awesome and people working here were super friendly.

I came here with my girlfriend and we both had 2 dishes each. We were positively impressed by the amazing quality of the food! It was nicely presented, it was excellent and really tasty! The selection of wine is extremely curated as well, super friendly staff and the overall atmosphere is chill and smooth! The location is beautiful and central, in downtown Reykjavik. Definitely recommended !!

Really enjoyed our meal & cocktails. One of the best meals of our trip hands down, the Osso was full of flavour and a nice portion. Cocktails were also fantastic. Will recommend to others visiting Reykjavik!

Stopped for a quick drink before dinner next door. Kind of wished we had stayed here. Really great vibe and I love the idea of having a restaurant combined with a clothing store. Staff were great.

Service: the girls at the counter were Courteous and attentive. Explained the different types of salad options patiently. Salad: was fresh and the sauces blended well Location: Good location right at the end of the rainbow street. Just a few metres away from the church.

The person minding the restaurant was rude to our party when one of us asked if we could use the restroom. He replied “there is no restroom!” And when we asked if there was a restroom nearby he said “I don’t know, you go walk outside and find” The coffee that I ordered had no coffee, it was just milk and water. I’ve come to Iceland 4 times already and found islanders to be very friendly and polite but this is the first time I’ve met someone who is rude.

The service at this Subway location was extremely disappointing. From the moment we walked in, we felt like we were being treated differently than the locals. The staff member working during our visit was snarky and dismissive, rushing us for no reason even though the store wasn’t busy. We were simply trying to understand the menu and ask polite questions about the sauces and ingredients, but instead of helping us, she acted as though we were bothering her. She refused to explain anything and wouldn’t honor any discounts. When we asked for her name to report the experience, she refused to give it. It’s unacceptable to treat any customer—especially someone new to the area—with such disrespect. This kind of attitude reflects poorly on the brand and creates an unwelcoming environment for travelers.

A subway is a subway. Only recommended if you are desparate and really short of time. However, this subway was not particularly fast, either. This all happened, because the nice restaurant at Harpa that amazed us with an incredible lobster soup 3 years ago was closed this time around. And we panicked to get something to eat before a nice jazz concert. Our mistake...

This is the go to place for dumplings! This colourful and quirky place had a fun but calming atmosphere. The staff were really friendly. I first saw the menu and thought it was small but when you see and more importantly taste these dumplings... wow! My favourite was the carrot and cashew! Would definitely recommend. You can eat in or take away.

Great option for excellent dim sums - we ordered the Shrimp dimsum, Carrot dimsum, and the Chicken dish. Overall, the food was delicious and flavorful. The service was efficient and there is plenty of space to sit.

As the youngest addition to the block this place definitely has loads of potential. The food is super tasty and the staff has good costumer service. I personally would like to see more of a variety bc I went through their whole menu in a week. But also the fact I kept coming back for a whole week straight is a testament to the deliciousness of their dumplings. Wish you the best Dim Sum Dragon!

Holy smokes! Hands down this place is amazing. Ordered the carrot dish, the beef dish and the pork dish and hands down that carrot dumpling was one of the best bites I have eaten. All three dishes were fantastic tasting and so visually appealing. Friendly quick service. This is a must when in Reykjavik. Wow!

The food resembles warmed up frozen dim sum from your local Asian supermarket with a few added garnishes, many pieces were flavourless without the garnish, the strongest being the copious use of pickled red onions. Definitely not worth 1800 for 5 pieces each. To eat a full meal will require at least 2 portions or more per adult. Very expensive for the quality of the food. The tables are "set" before arriving. The tables are not set with dishes at each seat (just stacked on the table), there is a jug of room temperature water on the table. The tables are too small for this complete lack of table service. The chopsticks should not be in paper bags but decorative and not be disposable. This level of service would be ok if the prices were significantly lower but for 5000kr+ per guest, the waiting staff should be smartly dressed, bring your plates with the food and serve water to the table. The decor is tacky Asian and the bar is identical to when it was a Brazilian restaurant. This is a not delivering anywhere near the standards of similarly priced places.

Surprisingly stunning dumplings in an unassuming little restaurant. We had shrimp, carrot, shitake, and braised beef dumplings. It's hard to decide which was the best, but the carrot one was probably the most memorable. I did not expect a place like this in Reykjavik, but I'm so glad it's here. It's really something special.

Excellent location (2 min walk to the bus stop), very nice interior, food is presented nicely and there's a lot of good deals for locals. The arctic char and Dímon cheese were gorgeous. Promising new place to check out!
