Vegan restaurant
Mama Reykjavik is not just a restaurant; it's a wellness space focused on plant-based dining and overall well-being. Situated in central Reykjavik, this lively eatery blends fresh Icelandic ingredients with spices from various cultures such as Indian, Jamaican, and West African, offering a unique dining experience. It's perfect for those looking for a revitalizing meal to nourish both the body and mind.
Through a courtyard and up some stairs (near Kavakava) you’ll find this lovely place. A short menu with 100% vegan comfort foods. I was in heaven after 9 days in Iceland while constantly asking about ingredients in foods. I went mid-afternoon and the place was quiet and welcoming. I had the curry. Very good!
Suzanne G — Google review
The vegan food was amazingly tasty! The homemade juice was delicious, and the cacao drink SO yummy! The upstairs restaurant is very cozy, great vibe, healthy options that taste great and the wait staff are very kind and you know each dish is ordered with wellness in mind. A home run place to visit and eat, drink and be healthy!
Marci D — Google review
Had a delicious curry and my non-vegan husband had a chili and we each got garlic naan. Both were very flavorful and filling. The cafe was cozy and charming. Great vegan options!
Michelle S — Google review
The food was absolutely delicious, one of the best food places in all of Reykjavik. It's a little hidden away which, but I'm glad we found it. It's a little expensive, but it seems good for Reykjavik prices. highly recommended coming here for lunch or dinner. Yoda was a beautiful dog.

Love the Staff! Genuine! Love the food! Full of flavor! Chili Sin Carne 10/10 - (spice level 7/10) Dhal a la Mama, not my favorite, a bit sweet for me, does have a flavor. I won’t rate, as i have my biased against sweeter hot meals. Drink Kambucha was okay, i am not a drink expert. I will be trying other dishes and drinks and update my review. I am here 3rd day in a row 🙂 Atmosphere is amazing, glass roof windows make it a unique experience!

A Perfect Final Treat in Iceland We chose to dine here on our last day in Iceland, and it was the perfect way to end our two-week adventure. I had been looking forward to this meal the entire trip… and it absolutely lived up to the hype. We ordered the vegan dahl and curry, garlic naan, a smoothie, the orgasm cake, and a peanut bliss ball. Everything was bursting with flavor - the smoothie in particular was incredibly refreshing, and the desserts were just as memorable. I really appreciate their commitment to using natural, wholesome ingredients. The service was warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing, exactly what you want after a long day. If you’re in Iceland, do yourself a favor and eat here.
Kat K — Google review
My friends and I were looking for some hearty food that would warm us from the inside out, and we found it here! The dhal was our favorite dish here. It was warm and lightly spiced. It felt both healthy and hearty. Leaving our meal, we felt nourished. Heads up if you’re expecting an authentic South Asian meal, this isn’t it. However the dishes take inspiration from global flavors. The entrance is a bit hard to find. We had to go through a courtyard and then up stairs, but the short journey was well worth it because the interior was so cute and cozy! Even if you aren’t vegetarian/vegan, you will still enjoy this meal!
Kristy O — Google review
I’m a local and it’s one of my favorite places. The food is hearty, satisfying, delicious, and made with love, and the herbal teas - especially Love Potion - are always warming and delightful. My favorite is Dahl a la Mama, though I sometimes get the weekly soup, which today was cauliflower/coconut and yummy.

When you're on the go, maintaining a healthy diet can be quite the challenge, but Fresco is here to make it easier and tastier! This casual eatery may not boast extravagant decor, but its flavors are undeniably delightful. At Fresco, you have the freedom to choose from an array of fresh salads or customize your own masterpiece. A standout option is their Burrito Bowl—just skip the red onions and add extra tomatoes and avocado for a zesty kick with California dressing.
If I'm eating out I'll never order the salad. NEVER! Yet I find myself going to a salad restaurant. Calling it that sells it short though. Very good indeed. Excellent quality food and equally high standards of service. I had the warm chicken Mexican bowl, it was fantastic!
Paul G — Google review
Average. Nothing special. Another over priced salad bar. They got rid of the kale. I didn't add any meat and it cost 1630kr.
Arrielle — Google review
As someone who never order salads on any restaurant, I was surprisingly happy to discover this place. The variety of different salads they offer and the amount of stuff they put into the salads are very satisfying. Also, they are making it on the spot (Subway-style) so you can pick and choose what you'd like to have.
Gunnar Ó — Google review
Inedible food, often containing plastic shrapnel or in some cases entire pieces of wood, no idea where it’s meant to come from but me and a couple of friends all ran into an issue. All the greens in the food tasted soapy the produce quality was that of a 3rd world country, no idea whether this is a locally sourced brand or whether its imported frozen.
Aldmeris — Google review
Healthy salad place that offers a good variety of taste. It's a "make your own" type of place where you can either choose a set salad or create your own by choosing what you want in it. Tastes great. I recommend the falafel salad.
Steinar V — Google review
Great place for filling salads - they have a lot of options. Menu had Iceland pricing (expensive) but the salads were super tasty and fresh. No wifi in the restaurant.

Went to Skeifan and got the best salad i've ever tasted, super friendly guy named Patryk made me a delicious salad! Would highly recommend for anyone looking for friendly service and great foodn

Apotek Restaurant, located in Reykjavik, Iceland, is housed in a historic pharmacy building and offers a unique dining experience. The restaurant serves delicious small plates and main courses such as sea trout on a Himalayan salt block and char-grilled beef tenderloin. Additionally, the cozy lounge at Apotek is known for serving some of the best cocktails in Reykjavik, including creative concoctions like the Dillagin and Rodaberg.
It was extremely delicious. We order set of 3 pieces. And it was tasty and very nice looking. The portions were big, so we even haven’t managed to finish our main course. We were celebrating our anniversary, and the restaurant gifted us with two glasses of Champaign which was very nice. We were there at Friday evening and it was full, atmosphere was very nice as well

Ambience: Very well design venue. Dim lighting, dark brown furniture , very elegant and sophisticated. The seats were extremely comfortable . Loved how romantic the ambience was. ⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️ Food: Very flavorful. The food was extremely delicious and the combination of flavors and ingredients were very creative. The plates were artistically designed and well presented. It was truly a fine dining experience in terms of taste and quality. It appeared to me that there was a lot of inspiration from other cuisines mixed with the local cuisine which made the food even more interesting. There was a touch of Mediterranean cuisine infused with every dish which not only did not affect the authenticity of the dish itself but added another complexity and color to it which I found very amusing. ⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️ Service: Excellent. There were plenty of staff on the floor attending the guests. Unlike what we have experienced with other restaurants in Iceland, where there weren’t enough team members attending the guests, this place had the right ratio and the staff were all very warm and were fully focused on the guest experience which was great to see. ⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️ Overall: Highly recommend it!
Mashiyaneh H — Google review
One of the city’s more stylish dining spots, set in a historic building that used to house a pharmacy. The interior blends a modern, upscale feel with touches of old-world charm, making it an inviting choice for a nice evening out. It’s centrally located, so it’s easy to include as part of a day exploring downtown. The menu is Icelandic with a creative twist, featuring local ingredients like lamb, fresh seafood, and Arctic char, often prepared with a contemporary or international influence. Presentation is elegant, and the dishes are crafted with attention to detail. Portion sizes aren’t huge, but the quality is consistently high, and the flavors are balanced. The cocktail menu is also a highlight, with inventive drinks that reflect the restaurant’s pharmacy heritage. Service is generally polished and attentive, though it can feel a bit brisk when the restaurant is busy. Prices are on the higher side, but in line with other fine dining spots in Reykjavík. Reservations are strongly recommended, as Apotek is popular with both locals and visitors, especially in the evenings and on weekends. The atmosphere manages to strike a balance between classy and relaxed, making it suitable for both a special occasion and a memorable night out during your trip. If you want to experience Reykjavík dining at its more refined, this is one of the best places to do it. Overall, Apotek Restaurant delivers on presentation, flavors, and atmosphere. While it’s not the most budget-friendly option, it’s a strong choice if you’re looking for a stylish dining experience that highlights Icelandic ingredients with creativity.
R — Google review
Took the 3 course set dinner. Portions are huge and delicious so make sure you come hungry. Cocktails are great too! The arctic char and cod were a bit salty but still delicious. The stars of the evening were the lamb tartare and lamb rump steak! Excellent service and great ambiance. Will definitely go back.
Tricia B — Google review
We visited Apotek Restaurant in Reykjavík and chose the 7-course tasting menu. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. I truly appreciate good food — we’ve dined at Michelin-starred restaurants and many outstanding places around the world — but this restaurant absolutely amazed me. The service was flawless: we asked to change a few courses in the tasting menu, and our waitress carefully discussed everything with the chef. Each dish was perfectly thought out and beautifully executed. From the different kinds of fish to the lamb and even a vegetable steak — it was a true culinary journey. The evening ended with the most delightful dessert — local yogurt. Even though I was already full, this sweet course was so light and delicious that I couldn’t resist finishing it. Huge thanks to the chef, the entire team, and the professional staff for creating such an unforgettable evening. An absolute highlight of our trip!
Julia G — Google review
We went there at 17:30 and there was no queue. By the time we finished, there was a line! So make sure to go early if you didn't book a table. I was longing for a lobster dish in Iceland and found this! The lobster is good though it doesn't look like the picture from instagram 😆 We also ordered the beef tenderloin, lamb rump steak, and a tiger prawn salad. Added crispy new potatoes as a side. Everything is amazingly delicious. It worth the price! ❤️ Best dinner in Iceland!
Abbie T — Google review
Great food excellent service. The menu was excellent with many options. Service was great. The wine selection is very broad. The cocktail was very nice as was dessert. Highly recommend the waguy appetizer.
Alexandra W — Google review
Apótek in Reykjavík was such a fun stop on our Iceland food journey. The building itself used to be the city’s main pharmacy, and you can still feel that history in the design. I even felt a little bit of mystery in the atmosphere, almost like the walls were holding on to old stories. We came here to try two Icelandic dishes: puffin and minke whale. The puffin was unlike anything I’ve ever had very fishy, like the ocean itself, since their diet is mostly fish. The minke whale surprised me with how tender and mild it was, almost like beef with a hint of the sea. Did you know this building was designed by Guðjón Samúelsson, Iceland’s state architect who also created Hallgrímskirkja? That touch of history makes the dining experience even more unique. Just keep in mind this two dishes are enough for everyone. The flavors are very strong, but I like to say I try it once.

Sushi restaurant

Cocktail bar
Sushi Social is a trendy restaurant in Reykjavik that offers a unique fusion of Japanese sushi, South American grills, and Icelandic ingredients. Originally known as Sushi Samba, the restaurant rebranded after a high-profile scandal but has since become even better. The menu features melt-in-your-mouth fresh Icelandic fish and a wide array of selections including new style sushi and an amazing steak platter for two.
We tried the 5 course menu with smoked puffin and horse meat, and arctic char, along with salmon and lamb. It was immaculate service and every staff was beautiful to look at and the food was great. I ordered the veggie tempura and baby back ribs, and grilled chicken with a bed of yummy corn. The bathroom was spacious and there's a coat rack for jackets. Drinks was fun and interesting and dessert was strawberry sorbet. We were celebrating a bday and the candle was so fun!!!
Amanda W — Google review
Exceptional experience from this restaurant. All the waiters and the sushi bar staff were super kind, the sushi was out of this world, the main courses are delicious, and the atmosphere was amazing. Get their Lax, Firefly, and Surf n’ Turf sushi’s, since all of those were amazing. The grilled lamb was so, so good as a main entree dish. We loved the music playing around and seeing everyone having a great time. The cake with the fiery candle on it was a perfect dessert to end the night in Reykjavik. All in all, this was an INCREDIBLE sushi restaurant experience and I HIGHLY recommend this spot to anyone! We LOVED it!!!

Super Atmosphere !!! Good location. Food is also good but price is quite high. But busy in dinner time. It could be waiting for long for food or service. With P1 and P2 parking area.

Definitely one of the best sushi bars i have been to. Found the smoked puffin very interesting and also tried the firefly dish as well as the laxa nigiri. Great ambience and one can sit at the bar and watch the preparations. Friendly service.

Best sushi we had in Reykjavik! We ordered their Wednesday special sushi boat and everything was amazingly delicious. For desert we had the happy marriage rhubarb, also delicious. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Would recommend anyone to try it out.
Andrei L — Google review
This place is a gem. It’s in downtown Reykjavik area close to many other attractions/shops/restaurants/cafes. We made no reservation but the hostess allowed us an hour time slot to dine in. Once inside, the place offers a cozy, intimate, and upscale vibe. We ordered the spider sushi roll and the Icelandic roll which they serve on a platter in the geographical shape of Iceland! Both rolls were delicious and a hefty portion. We were satisfied with the service, taste, and overall experience. The items are on the pricier end but from the looks of it, this place delivers that high end quality/service.
Casey Z — Google review
We love going to Sushi Social and come atleast once a month. I would recommend the Surf and Turf Maki, Beef Tenderloin with truffle garden potatoes, and Caramel fudge. I find that the tables are too close with each other which could sometimes be a struggle to get in and out of your seat but overall would still recommend the place.
Trisha B — Google review
My husband and I had our first dinner in Iceland at Sushi Social, at the beginning of the second leg of our honeymoon. It was the best meal we had in Iceland, and in our top 3 meals for the whole trip. The staff were welcoming, responsive, kind, and truly went above and beyond. We loved the decor and vibe, and most importantly, we loved the food. The veggie tempura was the best I've ever had. We truly enjoyed the short ribs as well. We got 3 rolls: the Veggie Delight, the Firefly, and the Crunchy Avocado roll. We enjoyed them all very much. The yuzuade drinks were light and sweet. We were brought an incredible alcohol free prosecco, and finished the meal with an incredibly decadent chocolate caramel ice cream dessert. Sushi Social is a perfect place for a special occasion, or a nice dinner out! Thank you, Sushi Social for helping to make our honeymoon so special!

Reykjavik Fish is a popular spot in the old harbor area, known for its daily assortment of fresh seafood. The relaxed atmosphere and changing menu based on the catch of the day make it a must-visit for seafood lovers. Stofan Cafe is perfect for riding out a morning blizzard with its cozy vintage decor and delicious pastries.
As good as it gets when it comes to fish & chips. Portions are generous but not too large. The kids enjoyed both the fish and chicken. I recommend the curly fries for a change of pace. The staff is friendly and the decor is fittingly nautical. 👍
Anthony S — Google review
My friend and I saw this place right after our whale tour finished and we were both so hungry and figured you can’t go wrong with fish and chips? Well, not exactly. I got the fish and chips, the batter was soggy on the inside. She got the chicken fillet in bread crumbs, obviously no bread crumbs were used. It was batter. Fries were completely plain, I had to douse them in salt and pepper. Good location, crappy food. If you want proper fish and chips, go to Aegir 101 Taproom. Those fish and chips were phenomenal!!!
Brooke J — Google review
Unassuming little place with ample seating, fast and friendly service and warm local atmosphere. Got the fish and chips which were excellent without being too greasy. Good portion and value. Two of us shared a plate (perfect if you're jetlagged and not too hungry and feeling peckish) but would be filling for a single person. Will definitely be back to try other dishes. Edited: went back and tried the traditional plokkari too. Delicious of course, but a note that the "stew" is actually more like a mash so get a drink along with it. Perfect for one person.
Rani P — Google review
A nice local establishment with good food and friendly staff. I would consider it to be honestly. It's affordable and reasonably priced with good quality food

This is the most delicious fish & chips i’ve ever had!!! We even returned on the last day of our trip. All the dishes are excellent!!!

I would not recommend fish burger. The ingredients inside were cold and bread neither. Fish n chips was a little buttery and had no taste of fish. Fries are warm and not fresh. It was 19:00 in the evening. But finished them all without satisfaction 🤥. Service and environment was nice.

Hraðlestin is a popular Indian restaurant with multiple locations in Reykjavik, Iceland. It is the fast-food counterpart to Austur Indiafelagidh, offering high-quality Indian cuisine without compromising on taste. The restaurant has been serving delectable Indian dishes for 16 years, prepared by skilled chefs using authentic spices from India. While it mainly specializes in non-vegetarian options, it also offers an expanded selection of vegan dishes on Wednesdays.
A really nice little Indian restaurant in the west end of Reykjavík. Excellent food, tasteful decor and unobtrusive service. We had the Mangalori chicken, which was really first class, and the dish of the week, Kadai Murgh, a bit spicier chicken dish with a slightly darker tone, but really tasty as well. The decor is inspired by Indian films and by mixing old and new woodwork in an original way. This is a place I look forward to visiting again and can fully recommend.

An Indian restaurant in downtown 🇮🇳 The restaurant was not bad at all. The menu is a less price dish than usual with good quantity and it changes every week. The decoration inside doesn't seems indian at all, but I loved the mark in the toilet.

Garðurinn is a popular vegetarian restaurant located in Reykjavik's city center, offering a variety of vegetarian and vegan options. It was the first establishment in the city to have a purely vegetarian menu. The cafe changes its specials daily, serving up delicious soups, curries, and tarts. There are always vegan and gluten-free options available. The staff members are known for meditating and studying the teachings of Sri Chimnoy.
This place is exactly what it advertises to be: A home-cooked meal enjoyed low-key and relaxed at a kitchenette table. Make sure to check online what dish and soup they have that day. That’s it. No other options (aside from beverages and some desserts). The food is cooked with love and care and is both flavorful and filling. I went here three times in one week and enjoyed what I had. Also, they just had their 24th anniversary!! Congratulations!! Here is to another 24 years ❤️🙏🏻.

Lovely, home-feel atmosphere with set vegetarian set lunches. A local place with hardly any tourists, which gives an authentic ambiance. Some gluten-free cakes and meal options. Small and cozy. But pricey... like anything in Iceland

Small, friendly atmosphere. Staff were very helpful. Great vegan food. Different menu each day of the week but menu has only two items, a soup and a vegan dish. Small or full quantities on offer. Great tasting food.

Went there on Thursday which is eggplant day. Very yummy. All the meals are vegetarian and vegan or can be modified to be vegan. The berry desert cake was delicious and healthy with the main ingredients being cashews and walnuts.

Delicious healthy gluten free food and outstanding service ! Cozy atmosphere inside. Beautifully decorated. Attentive, thoughtful, service, and even gave recommendations for viewing puffins. The food was so tasty!! Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Reykjavik !

Absolutely fantastic. There is one dish and one soup each day. We had both and they were wonderful. Also a great selection of coffees and pastries. Extremely friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

The day I visited they had vegetable soup and pumpkin curry as the meals. I must say the pumpkin curry might have been the best curry I've ever had in my life. The soup was really good too and they even had gluten free bread to go with the soup too. I wish I was here for longer so I could come back again!

If you find yourself in Reykjavik and are on the lookout for a delightful vegan dining experience, look no further than Loving Hut. This charming eatery is part of a global chain known for its Asian-inspired menu that varies by location. With an array of hearty dishes like spicy chick'n with rice and flavorful pad Thai, it’s perfect for those late-night cravings when options are limited.
Extremely good! A lot of variety on the menu. A few of my favorites are the Panang curry, cheese sticks, golden tofu, & coconut water. Love the decor and space. They also have some vegan grocery shop items to go like ramen, curry paste, etc.!

Ambiance: A casual diner vibe. It has comfy booth and tables and chairs. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. Service: They were very nice and patiently answered all our questions. Food: We got the Banh Mi and the shrimp seitan wok dish. Both courses were on point and seasoned perfectly. The seitan was perfectly cooked and had a nice crispy texture. The veggies were all nicely seasoned. The Banh Mi hit the spot, the mix of spicy with the pickled veggies was on point. I highly recommend this spot. There are still so many more things on the menu that I want to try. Price: Very reasonably priced, especially for the portion size. Insta: @TheShahLALand

It has a retro diner vibe. It was a welcome find after a long day of sight seeing and a long walk through Reykjavik. It's one of several vegan restaurants I had planned on visiting while on vacation. The food did not disappoint. I had the vegan shrimp chow mein. The serving size was generous and the service was very good. The menu offers many different items. You will definitely find something you would enjoy!
Fit G — Google review
Honestly not the best food:/ my chow mein was sooo salty I couldn’t eat it. The dumplings taste more like egg rolls. I mean, it’s nice to find a fully vegan restaurant in Iceland but not my fav unfortunately.

It is just like the Loving Hut we go to at home😁 Great Vegan food. Prices were only a few dollars more than at home (really reasonable by Iceland standards). Vegan Cake was amazing! They also have a few freezers with vegan items (like Beyond Meat Breakfast Sausages) that you could take home to cook. Great place!

Probably one of the best Loving Hut locations I've been to around the world. Food came out quickly, everything was delicious. Portion size for the cost - especially in Reykjavik as an out of towner who wasn't used to paying so much for food - was absolutely incredible. If you're looking for a variety of good vegan options at a great cost, I'd check them out!

Had the best experiences! Only in Iceland for Less than 48 hours. Got to our Airbnb at 8:22 and everything closes at 9. Sped walked to Loving Hut and they not only helped recommend dishes, but they told us we could stay and eat and take our time even though they were closing. The food & staff are soo good we came back today and ordered Green & yellow curry and pad Thai. All delicious! I’m not Vegan, but They’re tempting me to reconsider
Whitney M — Google review
Stumbling upon this spot on Google Maps was a great find for a vegetarian lunch in Iceland. It's entirely vegan/veg, which is a nice change. The restaurant has a very unfussy, no-frills aesthetic—just a clean, simple space with tables. It feels like a very local, family-run operation. The cuisine leans heavily towards Asian, Thai, and Oriental flavors, setting it apart from the typical Indian vegetarian places you often see globally. You order at the counter and the friendly, helpful staff brings your meal to the table, ready to answer any questions about the menu. While I'm a picky eater and only found the food quality to be 'okay,' my wife really enjoyed her rice dish and the food overall, especially since she prefers Asian-style cuisine. It was a good overall experience. The people are genuinely nice, and despite the simple decor, the place is clean. We'll definitely try it again on our next trip to the area.

Chickpea is a downtown vegetarian takeaway restaurant that offers a variety of freshly made falafel, flatbreads, and more. The family-run establishment takes pride in its good-for-you, made-from-scratch philosophy, offering umpteen variations of falafel centered around their Moldovan culinary roots. Their menu includes vegan-friendly options such as falafel wraps, hummus bowls, and vegan shawarma bursting with aromatic spices and fresh ingredients.
Absolutely delicious high quality food! I recommend stopping by Chickpea if you’re in Reykjavik, it’s truely delicious and good serving sizes, great central location, really lovely staff, super fast considering the peak time we visited, made fresh right in front of you, the falafel is crispy and moist. Oh and the kombucha is a must, it pairs so nicely with the food! I’m not the best photographer, but you get the idea 😉 Thanks Chickpea!

Soooo delicious....was craving something healthy and had one of their salads and tomato quinoa soup today. Flavors were extremely fresh and tasty - a nice chance from hot dogs and fried foods. Salad ce with delicious flat bread and hummus, too! Highly recommend.

Such a cute cafe! There aren't many seats to dine in, so many people opt to carry out. I was in the middle of enjoying the city on my last night in Reykjavik so I grabbed a seat as soon as it opened up. I ordered the spicy falafel wrap. It was spicy and so good! I recommend that you don't try to eat this while on the go because you want to make sure you eat every single bite and what falls out of the pita! I highly recommend this little place for a delicious, healthy, and vegan meal!

What a delicious find! We had the Spicy Falafel with kimchi, greens, hummus, spring onion & pickled tomato aioli - it was absolutely outstanding! So flavorful, fresh, and perfectly balanced. There’s no restroom and only counter seating, but for a quick and healthy lunch or snack, it’s absolutely perfect. The food quality is amazing, the portions are great, and the staff is really friendly. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for something tasty, casual, and full of flavor in Reykjavík! 🥙

Mexican dishes with indian spices and overall so boring taste-wise. Even the small portion of melted cheese that goes along with the nachos was way worse than the canned ones that you can find in the supermarket. I put 2 stars, because I managed to eat it.

The wretched reception person knows less than nothing in dealing with customers, grumpy and rude as soon as she hears the word "good morning". Durum Restaurant is a cozy Turkish and Mediterranean eatery located on one of Reykjavik's main streets. Despite its Turkish roots, the menu also features a mix of Asian dishes such as Thai Tom Kai soup and Indian vegetable soup. The restaurant offers a wide range of options including breakfast, soups, salads, sandwiches, paninis, quesadillas, wraps, and pizza.
Good breakfast with eggs, bacon, cheese, mushroom, spinach. And smoked salmon. Smoothies were good too. No issues.

The Bailey's coffee was good. The salmon and eggs was okay (fish was very salty and eggs bland). The avocado & hummus wrap was SO WATERY! It was like a leaky, dripping faucet the entire time I was trying to eat it. Very unappetizing.

Wow! I just visited for the first time and I'm in love! No English menu, but the server was very friendly and happily walked me through some options. Speaking of which! Great for vegetarians and vegans! (But also a lot of meat options ) I tried the Tex Mex with the vegetarian patty and it was delicious. Top marks all the way around.

This is an excellent place to get delicious salads, made to order in front of you! The menu is a bit overwhelming, and whenever I go in I often find myself staring at it for a while before building up the courage to approach the counter. But every single thing I've ordered has been fantastic. The ingredients are very fresh and there's an incredible variety to choose from. You can also customize salads from their menu if you want to substitute or change something (the lava cheese crackers add a delightful crunch to anything). The portions are generous as well. I try to go here once or twice a month if I can.

Only some vegan options. Locals said they sold pizza but there was no pizza on the menu. Quite pricey. Sides to the main course tasted bland. Beautiful and warm interior ambiance. You take a menu, order at the register, take a seat, and the staff will bring the food to you. Water pitchers are free and can be taken to your table. Although the staff were quite pleasant, service was a bit slow, in my opinion, due to the high customer volume with only a few workers. It was a nice visit but I will not return.

This is by far my favourite place to eat in Reykjavik. It's 100% vegan (as of March 2018), reasonably priced and the food is so tasty and fresh. It was also my daughter's favourite place which is really saying something for such a healthy place! It is also heaven for gluten free vegans with something like 8 options to choose from. I actually wish I'd eaten here for every meal and am really missing the place now I'm back home! The raw cakes are devine as well.

I was excited to try one of Icelands all vegan restaurants. Its definitely worth a stop for vegans visiting Iceland. It is pretty expensive. I was not blown away by the food. I definitely felt the food was quality but could have been more tasty. The raw snickers was the best thing I tried. The lasagna was good and would order again. I would never get a wrap again, and the bowls were ok. Since they are vegan I have to recommend them but be ready to spend some cash.

Such delicious food. I was pretty stoked to find out about it. I’m vegan and can have problems finding food while traveling. Then I found this place and I had multiple options!!! You mean I have to decide between all the deliciousness? No way, I’ll just come back multiple days and try many things. I had the Mediterranean bowl one day and the Indian Dahl another. The Mediterranean was my favorite. Good portion sizes and decent price.

Great little place. The food was good but what really stood out was the staff. There was a young man who helped us Americans navigate the menu items slowly explaining everything and went above my expectations to make this a great meal.
Mike B — Google review
Not reviewing their food, as we didn't get any. Their Piri piri sauce is great though. Some customer had several coupons and it took 3 staff members to work out his issues. After 10 minutes the 4th came and had his eyes on the floor while he asked the person behind me what she wanted. I told him I was next, and he ignored me and asked for her name(takeaway). I waved the menu in front of his face and told him I am next. He never once looked up and said he was sorry and asked what I wanted. I asked for their piri piri chicken and he asked me twice if I wanted it as a meal... I added a pizza and he ran to the kitchen and asked how long the wait was and returned to me and said the wait is 50 minutes for the pizza... I was already too annoyed after this so we left. Anyhow, avoid if you're planning to enjoy a nice evening at rush hour. I have no doubts the food there is tasty, but I don't think I'll go there in near future.
Jóhannes J — Google review
Sadly, this used to be one of my favorite go-to's for a quick meal coming at least once a week, lately, however, the quality has gotten so much worse. I always get the same wrap and 2 out of 3 times something is missing, the most common one being the sauce, leaving me with a dry wrap with very little flavor. Super dissapointing.
Michelle S — Google review
We called at 20:15 to ask if we could come with our children to dine in, knowing that the restaurant closes at 21:00. The person who answered assured us that it would be fine as long as we arrived by 20:45. We arrived on time, and I was standing at the bar placing our order at exactly 20:41. However, we were then told that they couldn’t take our order because they were closing in 20 minutes. This was very disappointing, especially after we confirmed over the phone. We chose this place specifically based on the information we were given. I hope the management will improve their communication and customer service in the future.

How cuuuuute! This place set the bar high as our first dinner in Iceland. The food was great, the service was excellent & the atmosphere was cozy & lovely... not to mention Volvo the cat who was wandering around & sleeping on the booth. 😻 We loved everything we ordered, but *especially* the miso glazed onions & arctic char with dill + fennel mayo. I think the next time we come to Iceland we will book a night at their hotel upstairs!

If you're a foodie looking for a great meal cooked with love, don't waste your time with the restaurants in and around the city center appealing to tourists and money grabs; come to this restaurant and it will be all you need. the food was delicious, staff was lovely, and out of all the lamb dishes I had during my visit to Iceland, this one took the win for the best cooked and best tasting (it did have a bit too much oregano for my taste, which is why I gave the food 4 stars, but it fit the dish well). the other dishes I had were beautiful and the wine selection was just what was needed for a cute and quiet date night.

Easily one of the best meals during our Iceland adventure! The Brie was solid, the lamb sausage was comforting but also creative, and the risotto was our favorite bite from the trip. Be sure to come hungry so you can order more than we did. Highly recommend!

We had an incredibly comfortable and cozy experience at this place. Even though we came as a group of ten, we felt very welcome and well taken care of. The food truly amazed us. At first glance, the dishes appeared simple, but the taste was elegant and thoughtfully created. We genuinely can’t pick a favorite dish because everything was delightful! The portion sizes were just right, and the pricing was absolutely fair. To top it off, the house wine and drinks were delicious. A special thanks to the service team—you were amazing! We wholeheartedly recommend this place and would love to return every time.

A gem in town! The ambient was perfect and we got awesome service. They made our sushi rolls on the spot and right away, and their texture and flavor was mind blowing. We will definitely be back. It’s good to know we can go to a place where you can taste real sushi!

The restaurant was very cute! The sushi was pretty good. Wasn’t as good as I was expecting, but I was still very pleased. Our waitress was great. We were on what seemed like a slower night or maybe it really does get missed a lot but the service was quick!
Natalie L — Google review
Second time going to the Sakebarinn since it opened. The first time we had a fantastic Sushi, good service and a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately the second time did not even come close to in terms of service, food or atmosphere. We made a mistake by not reserving a table beforehand and when we arrived the waitress said that they had seats available but the wait would be approximately one hour, if we would want we could order some starters if we were hungry. This place is small and cosy but when she offered us a table that was so close to next table it felt like you were dining with that table. Irritated but looking forward for a new sushi we decided to order drinks while we waited, order four types of rolls as well and then a group of ten young people start to walk into this small restaurant followed. The group was rather loud so all the other guest had to raise their voices making the calm atmosphere turn into a stressful and non relaxing dining. The food arrived a lot sooner than the waitress had informed us, after around half an our we got our sushi and the plate looked fantastic. The taste of the fish was of an aged one, the soya was way to salty, the rice was either too cooked or not cooked and some the end taste was just bad. I could have gone to Costco and gotten a ten times better sushi for just a drip of the price. Fortunately we had 2 for 1 coupon for the sushi but the total experience for the second visit was a never to revisit. I hope that they just had a bad day because our first visit was a good one. Therefor I will leave 2 stars instead of 1 star.

Lovely restaurant great decor. The food was delicious. We did have to wait awhile but as the sushi is made to order we didn't mind at all! When it arrived it was definitely worth the wait. The lobster skewers are so good!

So I’ve been here 3 times, my first experience was nice and I don’t remember much about it, but my second experience was really bad, kinda 2 stars, we had to wait For like an hour without being notified at all! Like the waitress hardly cared when I asked her after an hour, why we weren’t notified that we had to wait an hour for the food to arrive, and not like the place was full! There were Maybe 3 other tables there. The sushi was fine when it finally came, but a after an hour of waiting almost everything would taste fine. My third trip to this place against my advice was alright, don’t get me wrong the sushi that time quiet good but they kinda matched the price which it almost always high for sushi, nonetheless the service was meh, some teenager, didn’t look like she wanted to be there.

The service was a bit slow and the place was very tight. We weren't sure if ordering the 5 course meal would be worth it, but as the courses arrives it became evident that it was worth the price. The lobster and monkfish were delicate, sweet and flaky. The salmon tartar was tender and delicious with hardly a hint of "fishy" aftertaste. The whale tartar was phenomenal, though I haven't had whale and so have nothing to compare it to. The nagiri plate was perfect; salmon, cod, mackerel, whale and tuna. All were fantastic. The sushi plate was unexpected (we thought we had already eaten the last plate, and were getting full), but up to par with the last courses. The desert was OK, but all in all a fantastic meal for $55. I am no small man and I was full. I can honestly say this was the best sushi experience I've ever had.

Very long wait for food considering there was only two other people in the restaurant, waiter had forgotten about one of the dishes which resulted in extra wait, the staff is extremely young (teenagers) and they play loud, offensive rap music in a restaurant which is supposed to be Japanese. The restaurant was very cold with draft. Sushi was good enough, but not the best in Reykjavík. Also we had to witness the staff quarreling about the order with each other. I would recommend to look up some other place for a better sushi experience.

Probably the best sushi place in Reykjavík. One of the restaurants I goto again and again. The quality of the food and taste is simply so good. The service is great but remember that if you want fresh sushi, it takes time. We have tasted most of the rolls an all of the are good. For those who are looking for the restaurant remember it is on the second floor.

The flavors here are an exciting blend of global influences, ranging from Indian spices to Italian classics, ensuring there's something for everyone.
The service was fast and the food was so good I recommend the “xo burger with the steak patty” and the “meat up” pizza 10/10

Pizzas, wraps, burgers, salads, smoothies and more, all nicely done and tasty. Plenty of seating and sports shown on a couple of screens although this place does not meet the definition of a sports bar. The staff is friendly and the service is reasonably quick.

Decent place to get a quick meal without fuss. Order at the bar, find your own seat and get your own cutlery. Food is reasonably priced and reasonable value for money. Falafel wrap was pretty decent. I found the pizza overly greasy but not bad.

A good fusion restaurant with healthy food. Very short waiting time. - Order was on the table within 5.minutes. Good for all ages. Restrooms are outside the restaurant, in the mall it self just around the corner though with good access for disabled. Recommend this restaurant for family with kids. - I little bit pricy but worth the money.

The chicken pizza was amazing! There were many vegan and keto options as well. If you go there looking for pizza, try out the italiano. 😍

Sometimes their curry is good sometimes it is just a watery soup. You must be lucky to get the same thing every time you order

My dinner tonight was really good. I had stir fry noodles or so. It was tasty. First time in Iceland and last dinner here. It was such a good memorable. The owner is awesome. If I visit Iceland again, I’ll definitely go there and try some other dishes. Thanks for making me and my friends for nice dinners.

Good place for fast healthy and tasty food, the only downside is the price, 24$ for single meal.
